Tumblr media Tumblr media
so our lovely jiwoo was seated next to beomgyu!!
jessi was in for a long ride because we know what happens when woogyu are together 🤭 but she doesn’t know that 🤫
jw: hello, jessi :D! i am… jiwoo! but you can also call me elijah 😁
js: YOU ARE SO CUTE!!!
when jessi realized that kai and taehyun were born in 2002, jiwoo was CACKLING
then jessi mentioned that she thought jiwoo was the youngest because of how cute he was HAHA
jw: ahhh nono, i am actually one of the older ones, i’m the same age as soobin hyung
js: ah….. *txt starts laughing and beomgyu is like “our cutie jiwoo!!” and jiwoo almost bites him*
you could literally hear jiwoo’s laugh throughout the whole close up camera part😭
sb: i’m in charge of sexiness 😏
jw: *crying bc of laughter* yaa…. he’s very sexy
then it got to jiwoo
js: okay jiwoo!
jw: my charming point issss my whole face because i am handsome!
then the members are just like “yeaaaahhh” “WOOOO JIWOO SO HANDSOME”
js: you are right he is very handsome…
and then jiwoo giggles and is like “stop ittt ><“
and jessi is like “HE’S CUTE TOOOO”
when they started arguing about who’s the crybaby and jiwoo just stayed quiet because he knows very well he’s probably the biggest crybaby out of all of them 😭
during the txt quiz, he kept on being like “oo that’s a good one!” to each option to make jessi confused and she was like “hey. jiwoo-ah 😡😡” and they all started laughing and hi fiving jiwoo LMAO
instead of five options, there were six options bc… idk now there’s six of them 😭 but the option that jiwoo read was the korean title for blue hour/5시 53분의 하늘에서 발견한 너와 나 (you and i found the sky at 5:53)
js: wait… these are all song titles
th: i know, it’s hard to believe four of them are the real titles of the songs
sb: all of them sound fake 😅
jw: even i can’t name them sometimes 😭
then jessi asked them to sing a line from each song
jiwoo was tempted to lie because jessi said that they could lie about the lyrics but then he didn’t he was being nice
when she picked the wrong one, him and beomgyu start CELEBRATING and she yells at them LMAOO
js: honestly, the melody sucks they’re so annoying 😭 *in a joking manner*
txt: 😭😭😭😭😭😭
jw: we should make that an actual song!!
then question two about the fandom name!!
beomgyu and jiwoo were getting on her nerves 😭
jw and bg: hello mov! 🥰
jw and bg: hi luv 🥰
js: man, i hate you!!
and she gets it right WOOO
jessi is the best moa!
jiwoo laughed when yeonjun was like “did we?” when she was supposed to guess which gift they didn’t give to moas 😭
jw: 6. a song for moa! (which was moa diary)
js: ahhh it’s not that one, they’re very kind they would definetly do that 🥰
then she guessed the group shirts and they went “ohhhhh…. you’re right! 😁”
and then the tteokbokki 😭
js: did you buy it from *the brand she mentioned idk what it is 😭*??
jw: :O I LOVE THAT BRAND!!
js: REALLY??
js: no i don’t know what brand that is 😁
js: HEY 😡😡😡 DON’T LAUGH 😡😡😡
time for loser=lover promotion!!
featuring beomgyu and jiwoo being cute for jessi’s camera 🥰
we are all losers and lovers for txt!
during mv shooting, taehyun mentions that they haven’t done super intense acting and jiwoo laughs while thinking about it
jw: during my part, i had to throw things and kick stuff… the directors were like “jiwoo! scream while doing it! look mad!” and then i went… “ahh.. ☹️” but then my members were like “pretend it’s yeonjun hyung!” and i immedietly knew how to act like it 🥰
txt and jessi, except sulky yeonjun: HAHAHHA
jw: love you hyung! *yeonjun slaps his arm*
when jessi tried to pronounce dubadu wari wari 😭 DUBADU HUH⁉️
moa diary segment: jiwoo just cringing at every part and especially laughing at taehyun trying to be jessi LMAOO
jw: ahhh… so sexy…. yeah….
jessi gave jiwoo a “boyfriend” type
hk and sb: oohhh i’m excited for this!!
his message: ahhh, my LOVER ~~ have you heard our song? i’m a LOSER for you and only you, i love you moa 😍
js: AWWW SO CUTE 🥰🥰
txt: iskwjduwjeh so cringeeeee 😅
can you tell that jessi thinks jiwoo is super cute and is still convinced that he’s the maknae
js: txt are variety idols! they talk back, especially these three! *pointing at beomgyu, yeonjun and jiwoo*
sb: jiwoo usually isn’t like that but he’s with beomgyu sooo
instead of jessi, jiwoo is on the older team and takes jessi’s place and… 😭
jiwoo asks jessi for help and when jessi demonstrates for him, he gets super flustered LMAO
js: *demonstrating watermelon*
jw: IDKFJEIB please stop i got it 😅
and then soobin demonstrates.. and yeonjun feels like he shouldn’t get it right.. and now all three of them are shy and the younger ones and jessi are like “JUST GUESS IT” while yeonjun sadly guesses watermelon and gets it right 😔💔
but they did win in the end!!
js: jiwoo, please say something
jw: ahhh, thank you for watching, please listen to our albummm! i love you moa ❤️
overall jiwoo had lots of fun and would love to go on showterview as a full group again </333
and jessi’s txt bias is jiwoo 🥰🥰

Minisode1: Blue Hour-
written from the perspective of a teenager who is "isolated and lost in emotions amid the unprecedented pandemic."The songwriting is characterized by hopefulness, loneliness, unfamiliarity, loss of routine, desperation, empathy, and connection. It explores the "conflicts of reality and reflects on the current need for a pause in real life."
1. "Ghosting"
youtube
Lyrically, the track addresses the titular phrase of "ghosting" or "being ghosted" and narrates the confusion and disheartenment of being detached from the world., In this song, we express the confusion and disheartenment of a boy who has become cut off and isolated. The person he has been talking with stops responding, and he wishes they would come back.
2. "Blue Hour" (5시 53분의 하늘에서 발견한 너와 나)
youtube
The song's Korean title (5시 53분의 하늘에서 발견한 너와 나) is a reference to the time 5:53 PM, which is the golden hour in the city of Seoul in the month of October.Metaphoric to the complex colors of the sky just before the sunset, the lyrics celebrate "the desire to revisit beautiful past memories via one's imagination."Explaining further on the theme in an interview with Elle, Soobin stated, "The scene is mesmerizing, but it's also too dark to recognize and 'know' the people around us, including our friends. There are concepts of unfamiliarity in familiar surroundings; the song expresses a message: even though we may feel solitude in these times, we will continue to hope we still feel the same way as one another., about 5:53 PM, the hour of sunset in Seoul in October. More specifically, it’s about the beauty and darkness that comes with sunset.
3. "We Lost the Summer" (날씨를 잃어버렸어)
youtube
parallelly speaks of "teenagers who face a world flipped upside down due to the pandemic." Beomgyu explained, "Many teenagers could no longer go to school and hang out with each other, passing notes, sharing earbuds, and so on. It's our story but it's still a subject that teens all over the world can relate to. It's the teen perspective and we wanted to address it through our music.", was created as we were brainstorming what stories we could tell amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. People lost routineness in their lives; people of our age couldn’t even physically attend school anymore. This song is a teen narrative about the changes in the world this year.
4. "Wishlist"
youtube
Lyrically, it portrays the story of a boy who prepares a gift for his love., is about wanting to give a special someone the perfect birthday gift, but they won’t tell you what it is they want. As everyone can probably imagine, this is really hard to figure out. I think that it’s a very relatable subject for many people.
5. "Way Home" (하굣길)
youtube
The song captures the loneliness of a boy walking back from school and emphasises the need of companionship.According to Yeonjun, the track is about "a belief that regardless of uncertainties we may feel, we will still be together as long as we remember one another.", is about the way back home from school. It’s the same path and scenery we walk through almost every day, but in this track, everything around us seems foreign and surreal like a mirage in a desert or a figment of our imagination, and we grow a little unsettled. The message of this song is that regardless of everything, as long as we continue to remember each other, we will stay together forever.

TXT Unpacks "Minisode1: Blue Hour" EP, Songwriting, and More
Tumblr media
“We wanted to tell a story that only we could tell in this moment.”
Following months of anticipation and multiple teasers and countdowns, TOMORROW X TOGETHER (TXT) have finally made their long-awaited comeback with the release of their new EP, Minisode 1: Blue Hour, on October 26.
The five-track EP is TXT’s third mini-album and also marks the quintet’s second comeback of the year, following the release of their second mini-album, The Dream Chapter: Eternity, back in May. With Minisode 1: Blue Hour, the South Korean group is not only beginning anew, starting what will be the next chapter in TXT’s journey, but also providing listeners with their own diary of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The point of focus for this EP was telling our story as TOMORROW X TOGETHER at a time when there are limits to everything that we can do,” leader Soobin tells Teen Vogue about the new project, which was made entirely during the pandemic. “COVID-19 brought about changes in daily life for everybody, and we wanted to deliver a message that people, especially those of our age, could relate to. It’s why we selected ‘Blue Hour’ as the lead single."
“We wanted to share an EP that was relevant to the times because the world has gone through a lot of changes with the COVID-19 pandemic,” Huening Kai adds. “Through Minisode 1: Blue Hour and ‘Blue Hour,’ we wanted to address the universal experience through the teen perspective. The EP is our teen narrative, and I hope many people all over the world will be able to relate to it.”
The album was first teased with the “R,” “VR” and “AR” concept photos. “In the concept photos for Minisode 1: Blue Hour, we focused on reflecting the state of the world; we focused on ‘home,’ because for many of us, the spaces we can now occupy have been limited to ‘home’ and the ‘online space,’” Taehyun tells Teen Vogue. “It’s a new norm to meet through virtual spaces and spend time together online whilst being physically separated. Wherever the ‘space’ may be, we wanted to express the joys of spending time together and interacting with our friends through vivid and refreshing colors.”
"COVID-19 brought about changes in daily life for everybody, and we wanted to deliver a message that people, especially those of our age, could relate to."
As the title track for the project and the second track in the album, “Blue Hour” (Korean title: “5시 53분의 하늘에서 발견한 너와 나”) stands out both sonically and lyrically. The song was created partly by Big Hit Entertainment’s producer Slow Rabbit and Bang Si-hyuk; led by funky guitar riffs and booming bass beats with a sprinkle of synths, the uptempo song is an instant, dance-inducing serotonin boost. In it, the members sing about a magic hour, where dreams seem reachable despite the hardships that may surround us.
Per a press release, 5:53 PM is Seoul’s golden hour during October, matching the EP's release date. It is also described as the “hour between dog and wolf,” a moment the five-piece refers to in their lyrics, meaning “the moment at which the sky darkens and the overcast shadow makes it difficult to distinguish friend from foe.” The track, as Yeonjun said in the media showcase, conveys complex emotions, likening them to the complex colors of the sky.
“'Blue Hour' is very trendy; it’s TOMORROW X TOGETHER’s own Disco, and the process of interpreting the sound into our own refreshing color was very interesting,” Beomgyu tells Teen Vogue about the title track. “It’s also full of bright energy, which I feel is perfect in times like this. ‘Blue Hour’ takes place during sunset. It’s about looking at the sky and marveling at its beauty, but also feeling a sense of isolation and unfamiliarity. We wish for this beautiful sunset to last forever and that regardless of any thoughts of solitude, we will continue to feel the same as one another.”
Accompanying the release of the album is also the official music video and performance for “Blue Hour,” which the members previewed during a media showcase that took place just hours before the EP’s official release. In line with TXT’s fantastical releases, the music video for “Blue Hour” is not short on whimsical components. Drawing on the idea of an everlasting sunset, we see the members embark on a journey through green fields and floating Ferris wheels. In marked contrast to The Dream Chapter: ETERNITY, which served as the culmination of a journey from innocence The Dream Chapter: STAR, “Blue Hour” expresses a longing for boyhood, inviting us to dwell in our imagination.
Differing slightly from the album version, the MV and live rendition of “Blue Hour” introduces a short dance break where the members showcase their synchronized performance. During the media showcase, the five artists emphasized the prominent role dance played in the preparation for “Blue Hour.” For the first time, the quintet is joined by backup dancers on stage. They also introduced smaller unit dance routines and utilized props like hats and coats for a Singin' in the Rain-inspired segment. Huening Kai admitted during the media showcase the use of props was in part inspired by BTS member Jimin and his mise en scene for “Filter” during the Map of the Soul ON:E online concerts that took place on October 10 and 11. Beomgyu also added that this performance and video were intended to feel like a musical, and it’s safe to say they achieved it.
youtube
Preceding “Blue Hour” in the EP is opener “Ghosting,” a soft ballad with a nostalgic feel. “The sound is Indie Rock and 1980s Nu Gaze,” Taehyun tells Teen Vogue. “It’s about ghosting, or being ‘ghosted,’ and therefore being isolated and cut off from communication. Soobin and I helped write the lyrics for this track; even though a person has stopped responding, we hope they will come back someday.” It stands as the most ballad-y of all five tracks, and “Ghosting” also introduces surprising production elements with the mix of "vintage" sounds in the intro and chorus.
“We wanted to tell a story that only we could tell in this moment.”
The third track in the EP, “We Lost The Summer” (Korean title: “날씨를 잃어버렸어”) is described as dancehall by Big Hit and features Charli XCX as a contributor. It's perhaps the most timely of all five — when the tracklist for the EP was first unveiled in early October, it was said to be inspired by how teens’ lives have changed life because of COVID-19. In the media showcase, the members revealed the track was in part inspired by the Han's Band’s 1998 track “오락실,” in the sense that it retells a difficult situation with an upbeat cadence (the 1997 Asian financial crisis vs. the  current pandemic).
“COVID-19 has completely changed our lives, and we wanted to tell a story that only we could tell in this moment,” Beomgyu tells Teen Vogue. “’We Lost The Summer’ represents this sentiment. Many teenagers could no longer go to school and hang out with each other, passing notes, sharing earbuds, and so on. It’s our story but it’s still a subject that teens all over the world can relate to. It’s the teen perspective and we wanted to address it through our music.”
Since its reveal, many MOAs noticed this song seemed to somehow mirror “Our Summer,” which was also the third track on The Dream Chapter: STAR. “’Our Summer’ was about the passionate, brilliant, and enjoyable times we spent together with our friends, and ‘We Lost The Summer’ is, in a way, about the opposite,” Soobin tells us. “It reflects the reality of this year with COVID-19, so I suppose our fans would definitely think of the two together.”
“The song is about a belief that regardless of uncertainties we may feel, we will still be together as long as we remember one another.”
“Wishlist” is the EP’s fourth track and is produced by Sam Klempner. From the get-go, “Wishlist” stands out as an uplifting, anthemic pop song. Described by Big Hit as a “bright” and “cheerful” track, “Wishlist” was penned in part by Yeonjun, Huening Kai, and Taehyun. TXT’s maknae, Huening Kai, describes this track as “refreshing pop-rock.” The message is simple but relatable. “In this song, we struggle about what birthday gift to prepare for a special person. Many people must have been in this position before.”
“Way Home” (Korean: “하굣길“) is another standout on the EP. Its R&B-inspired beat offers a departure from TXT’s cheerful sound into a slightly more somber realm. Mixing soft trap beats with the quintet’s honeyed vocals, this is a genre they’ll hopefully explore more of in the future. Yeonjun’s rap skills also shine with a full verse, offering a refreshing rhythmic break. “In terms of genre, I’ve mentioned before that I like Future R&B. I had the chance to work with this genre through ‘Way Home,’” Yeonjun tells Teen Vogue, and that fact probably comes as no surprise to MOAs, since he had already teased this song was to his liking during a VLIVE.
“In this song, we make our way back home after school,” he continues. “Although it’s the same path we’ve always gone through, something about it seems unfamiliar and it makes us uneasy. The song is about a belief that regardless of uncertainties we may feel, we will still be together as long as we remember one another.”
Tackling the conflicting feelings the pandemic has brought forth, Minisode 1: Blue Hour provides respite in its unresting familiarity and gives hope in light of uncertainty without sugarcoating the lyrics. Keeping with TXT’s characteristic take on youthful concepts, the mini-album stands as another solid offering from the quintet that advances them as songwriters and performers. The five-man act has used this EP to show their growth by showing different facets of their artistic personas with the inclusion of new genres and self-written tracks following “Maze in the Mirror” and ultra hidden track “Sweat.” “We gave ideas and participated in lyric-writing from early on in the creative process. We put in a lot of effort into this EP, and that experience itself has definitely allowed us to grow musically,” Yeonjun says.
Conceptually and visually, Minisode 1: Blue Hour starts a new journey for the quintet. The “one” in the EP’s title might seem to imply there will be “two” and, judging by Big Hit artists’ penchant for trilogies, maybe even a “three." However, both Soobin and Taehyun said during the media showcase that this minisode serves as a bridge between The Dream Chapter and whatever series might come next.
“TOMORROW X TOGETHER has always told our own story through music, and the ‘next journey’ will be the same," Yeonjun tells Teen Vogue. “it will be a continuation of our story to be told as we grow and as the situation evolves.”
