TOO - Hard Carry (originally by GOT7)
YOOOOOO THAT WAS DOPE AS HELL!!
First, concept. I love that TOO stuck to their guns and didn't try to imitate GOT7's choreography. While their own choreo was a little less technically challenging and easier to manage, they still made it really fun and showcased their skills. Because they were preparing for the collab stage at the same time with Verivery, I understand why this didn't happen but I would have loved to see more synchronicity in their routine. Still, it was delightful to watch!
The stage was a lot less aggressively performance based, with less technical skill than their other stages (Rising sun especially) but I think that added to the charm of it all. Because it was street punk, being a little loose and a little crazy just fits way better than being rigidly contained to sharp dance moves. I liked their use of props this time too, I could practically see an alley just like that where delinquents would hang out. 10/10 set design.
COSTUMING. Their outfits were great!! The graffiti overalls and jumpsuits were perfect to really bring in that streets vibe, especially when they did the blacklight glow! That was literally so cool, I'm going to rewatch it later just to really feel it.
Chihoon and J. You did fantastic! They really used the unique cadences of their voices to bring out the most in their raps. Minsu?? Babe?? Your voice is so good?? And the two who followed him were all really solid, steady and damn that pitch bro!!
I can still see places where they need work in terms of controlling their bodies. While I've interpreted it as being loose to fit the concept, there's the possibility (more likely than not tbh) that they intended for their dance to be sharper and it didn't end up like that. Additionally, I noticed a couple times where they almost landed on top of each other which is a spacing and blocking issue. Lastly, their use of the backup dancers really shadowed the member's own performances which damaged the performance a bit as even though I was watching TOO, I couldn't grasp their performance properly. That could also be a camera angle issue but in this particular performance, it just felt a little like TOO wasn't trying to showcase themselves as much as they could or should have. I think a street style performance would have done wonderfully too if they were just a little more greedy in their own performances, almost a king of the streets style attitude! I think it's just because they're young though, with time they'll gain that confidence and aura on stage.
Score: 7/10

RTK EP4 Evaluation (spoilers)
[Disclaimer: This is only my personal opinion.]
First of all, wisest statement ever done in this show: "Even if you don't win, you'll make more people like you". - Ravi, 2020. The only man who understood what this show is for.
Now to the stages:
ONF: They showed how to perfectly integrate background dancers. It was a very smooth performance, had some really cool moments, overall very enjoyable. (Also very cute how Oh My Girl supports them)
Golcha: (I love their positive energy, they have such a cheerful and healthy vibe) One word to describe this: Majestic. They rly manage to pull off a very sophisticated concept (the outfits tho I LOVE it). The violin solo was amazing, the entire rearrangement in orchestra style was great. Choreo-wise it possibly wasn't that eye-catching, but they showcased their very distinct vibe. "We performed with no regrets" was a wonderful statement tho.
ONEUS: (Their preparation with paper ONEUS seems like a battle plan hahaha). I'm glad they this time were very creative and made use of all cameras. They definitely went full Wuxia/Cultivation-Drama with this concept, which is definitely unique and sth I approve of. Also I love LIT. Overall the concept was nicely chosen, however: Some of the props were a mistery to me (brooms? Also I couldn't recognize the superpowers they wanted to show), and for my taste there were too many dancers. All together this was in my eyes nevertheless ONEUS best performance in that show.
VERIVERY: (I was so glad to see Ravi) First of all, great concept. Dark, dangerous, powerful. It was a smart move to choose such a concept, considering that they usually are more on the bright side. The acting was amazing, they conveyed the feeling of a nightmare perfectly. At times it was very messy and much going on, however in that case I find that fitting, because it perfectly mirrored how I perceive nightmares. They had some impressive constellations and moves. All in one I absolutely enjoyed that, I only was missing Minchan's "빨리 click click click click now" part tbh bcos it's my fave part.
TOO: (Chan rly is on the right path to become a genius choreographer, his creativity is not from that world) That concept gives me life. They made perfectly use of their massive amount of members and split them into two rivaling groups. Also the fact they changed the line distribution only for this stage (Minsu and Chan rapped J.You's part, J.You sang). A lot of effort for one stage, which unfortunately only a few people will even notice. Chan is an incredible dancer. It is a pity that the dragging move didn't work, but I'm glad they acted as if nothing went wrong. That's truly a high level of professionalism, especially for an absolute rookie.
THE BOYZ: I literally can't say much about this, I have no criticism. It was basically a perfect stage. This creativity is absolutely out of this world, they had a wonderfully structured and clear performance. The concept was dope, I held my breath for quite some time because I was so shocked. For me the(eir) best stage so far. Also I almost screamed at Juyeon assassinating the thief of the crown...my gamer heart is too overwhelmed at that point.
PENTAGON (from last week): I rly like that they went for the dorky, bright concept, because that's how I know Pentagon and that's what I love about them. I found the rearrangement a bit strange tho. Moreover it was absolutely emotional, I love their bond. It was a nice stage and I'm glad they dedicated if to Pentagon itself...and not to Mnet.
I can't and don't want to make a ranking for this episode, because they were not much apart for me this time, besides maybe THE BOYZ bcos they rly exceeded all my expectations.
Regarding next week's episode I'm SO SO SO HYPED BECAUSE COLLABORATION TIME OMFG WE'LL GET INTERACTIONS. I personally would love if Oneus and Verivery collaborated tho but I assume it'll be combined in a form that each Collab has approximately the same amount of members (aka smaller + bigger group). Judging from the trailer I might have recognized voices in 2 songs already which would definitely take away the surprise for next week's ep...but I could be wrong.
