#and the stepsisters...or snow white and rose red....

Note
i am here to show a few reasons why cinders ouatis does, in fact, qualify as a cinerella.
(btw htis is not to pcik a fight or to be rude to that anon, i would sjut like to show that there are several thigns the propaganda did not speak of that qualified her for the position, if she's meant to follow all the cinerellea tropes.)
first, her story, then how it falls into line with what makes a cinderella.
so, her mom died. that's. that's kidna a big stapple in msot cinderallas. her dad (the king btw, i promise it's kinda important) remarried to her "wicked stepmother" and then had new stepsisters as well (wicked in quotes. they're- ok. there's a lot)
in the era of a war against king Cole, cole ended up taking over her kingdom/planet, with the help of her stepsisters and step mother, and they kinda turned her in ("wicked" part). she was then thrown into jail.
(also her love interest was, at least in popular theories since it wasn't explicetly stated, one of the commanding officers in the raid.)
rose, her love interest ("Prince Charming" but yk princess bc lesbians yippee!), got to know her a bit while she was still in prison, and there was like a lot of unresolved everything.
then a "godmother in white" (snow, rose's sister, or at least that's how i interpreted it, however it could very well be general white or whatever her title was that snow ended up adopting) broke her out the day that rose was resasigned and leaving planet. the godmother told her that if she and rose were married by midnight, then they woul be able to be together bc idk laws ig? (i mean, i've nevre heard of laws that allow that but yk ok why not)
then at the wedding cole ended up kidnapping rose and cinders fled (she also feels really guilty about this, but if you read the fiction for it, im pretty sure it said that rose had told her to run) and was one fo the few survivers of the everything that happened there.
then she spends the rest of her years hunting down rose wiht this like... mood ring? at least it kinda works like one i think.
then when she finally finds rose agin.... um.
well, i'll let you listen to the album.
(it's sad.)
NOW HERE'S WHERE THINGS OVERLAP
again, the remarriage of her father.
then the way her stepmother and sisters treated her. now, again. never explicitly stated how they treated her before cole came and stuff, but after that, she was in the position of being in rags when she deserved so mcuh more than that, but her stepfamily took it from her (in a few other ersion it's the stepmother making her the family servant/slave, in other version it's... something else idk i don''t read a lot of cinderella stuff tbh i preffer other fairy tales).
then we have the godmother saving her. that part speaks for itself. i think.
then for the ball (or in this case, a wedding to her "true love"), it IS explicitly stated that the rings, that turn red when its other is with it, are made of glass. in the fiction, it said that as cinders was putting the ring on rose's finger, the bmombs went off, and she dropped it. rose caught it, stuffed it in her wedding dress pocket (fuck yeah, i would love to have that on my wedding dress), told cinders to run. leaving the glass slipper (ring, ig, but yk it slipped so) behind, right around midnight.
also, her name isn't even cinders officially! i don't know what it was before, but durring the whole revolution and such and her looking for rose, she edned up taking a new name/persona, much like snow, and was dubbed cinders, "after the her ashen world" (or whatevr it was, idk, i haven't listened to the album in a bit). again, this plays into the whole thing with the name that many other version and adaptations liek to play off of.
tbh this is all i can think of rn bc im kinda tired, so feel free to expand on this. wanted to give as mcuh details as i could abotu her story and how it is fairly similar to every other cinderella story.
however to me, a lot of these cinderellas also jsut. aren't too close to a certain story of cinderella. there's a lot of creative liberaty taken in every version. now, the album in it of itself, (once upon a time (in space)) takes a bucnh of stories, this and many other fary tales, and twists them and makes it their own. it's an adaptation. and when it comes to things like folk lore, ledgends, myths, and fairy tales (especially those), there's always gonna be some inconsistancies than with other version derived of the same media. hell, even jsut the stories themselves almsot never stay consistent.
a cinderella is a cinderella if they are said to be based off of the story of cinderella. (im looking at you carrie, and how no one said she was any less of a cinderella than any other competitor)
-A
If this propaganda has convinced you, click here to vote for Cinders (Once Upon a Time in Space)!

A lot of fairy tales feature terrible siblings--jealous sisters or stepsisters who ruin the happiness of the heroine, elder brothers who compete with and put down the youngest.
So I want to list some fairy tales that feature strong and loving (or at least friendly/not antagonistic) sibling relationships.
The Wild Swans
Snow White and Rose Red
Brother and Sister
Hansel and Gretel
Kate Crackernuts
The Twelve Dancing Princesses
The Laidly Worm of Spindleston Heugh
Maria Morevna
The Little Mermaid
Bluebeard

White as Snow, Red as Rose
In AU where Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss crossover to retell three dark stories by the Brothers Grimm. Snow White, Red Riding Hood, and Snow White and Rose Red.
Takes place in Europe mid-to late 1500′s and we get to see the darker aspects of European lore along with the various ethnicities that mixed in this time period.
Charlotte - A German princess who was born as white and soft as fallen snow. Though her mother died in childbirth, she was loved by her father and adored by all who in dwelt in the castle. When her father the king remarried and was called to fight in the crusades, her stepmother sent her and her new stepsister to live in the black forest. However she has a very happy childhood which involves her growing close to her stepsister and befriending a very strange looking boy. When she grows into a beautiful young woman, her loveliness surpasses all in the land which makes her the target of a her jealous stepmother so she flees for her life. But when she sees how her people are suffering from the queen’s tyranny, her kind heart and noble spirit urges her to fight back and reclaim her title as the rightful heir to the throne.
Vagatha - A Romanian woman with features as red and sharp as a rose. Though her mother becomes queen when she remarries, she ends up growing up in her grandmother’s care along with her stepsister Charlotte. As a child she witnessed her father being killed by a wolf which led to her becoming very suspicious of others and afraid to open her heart to anyone but she deeply loves her grandmother and Charlotte and is fiercely protective of them both. As an adult she becomes highly skilled hunter in a red hood who seemingly fears nothing and defends the innocent from beasts that would do them harm.
Alastor - A man of Moorish descent that suffered from amnesia as a boy and can only recall his name. His appearance resembles that of a deer beast and is often turned away by everyone he meets save for a group of alps who take him in and raise him. During his childhood he also be friends Charlotte but is under constant suspicion from Vagatha. When Charlotte’s life is threatened he and the alps help her hide from the queen. Unfortunately Alastor suffers from moments of his mind going animal which cause him to act vicious. He fears losing his humanity but hides it behind a smiling face. A smiling face that only Charlotte realizes is fake.
Anthony - A Polish prince who is very irresponsible and careless but means well. He is under constant pressure from his father to succeed him as king even though he believes he’s not up to it. When his father refuses to listen, he runs away to Germany where he meets Vagatha. She figures out that he’s the prince very quickly and blackmails him into helping her find Charlotte or she’ll expose him. He reluctantly agrees but during his unwanted journey he not only learns to mature but also uncovers some interesting secrets about his family.
Blitzo - An alp, the crafty leader of the alps who spends his days cheating humans with snake oil scams or robbing them of their money. In the past he was captured by humans and made into an enslaved performer but he escaped, found other alps, and started his own gang. He harbors resentment toward humans for his past abuse so he’s reluctant to protect Charlotte and starts off very cold toward her but he’s not without a heart for he took in the amnesic orphan Alastor.
Moxxie and Millie - A happily married alp couple who work for Blitzo even though they’re actually more intelligent than him. They too participate in cheating and theft but posses an incredible amount of kindness. They warmly welcome Charlotte into their home and can’t help but hope she might be a potential wife for Alastor, much to his embarrassment.
There will be much more other characters but these are the ones I have developed for now. But before I write this fic, I would like to know what if anyone thinks it’s good.

Cinderella September-through-November: "Grimm's Fairy Tale Classics: Cinderella" (1989 anime episode)
Tumblr media
Grimm's Fairy Tale Classics (or Grimm Masterpiece Theatre, as it's titled in Japan) was the first anime I ever saw, before I even knew what anime was. I remember watching it often in my kindergarten days when it aired on Nick Jr. It was my introduction to several of the Grimms' fairy tales, including The Brave Little Tailor, The Twelve Dancing Princesses, Donkey Cabbage and The Golden Goose, and provided the first adaptations I ever saw of other tales I already knew, such as Rumpelstiltskin, King Thrushbeard and Snow White and Rose Red. I never happened to see their two-part adaptation of Cinderella, though, until now.
Since the series is based on the Grimms' tales, it probably goes without saying that this Cinderella is based in the Grimms' Aschenputtel, not the familiar Perrault version. It's a considerably modified version, however. Unlike in the Grimms' tale, Cinderella's father is dead, leaving her entirely at the mercy of her fat, haughty stepmother Madame Pompadour (presumably no relation to Louis XV's famous mistress) and her ugly stepsisters Phoebe and Griselda. But as in the Grimms' tale, she does have two devoted pigeon friends: here they're a mated couple named Gwendolyn and Algernon, who can talk to Cinderella and who serve almost as her surrogate parents. They don't sort lentils for her, but they do sort the pearls from a necklace that her stepsisters destroyed while fighting over it. She also receives her ballroom finery from the branches of a tree, but unlike in the Grimms' tale, the tree has no connection to her deceased mother. Instead it talks with a deep male voice and claims that the gown and golden slippers are among many things that the wind has blown into its branches over the years.
Once she reaches the palace garden, Cinderella can't sum up the courage to go indoors... until the Prince himself literally stumbles across her as he tries to escape from the ball his overbearing father the King has forced on him. Not realizing his royal identity, Cinderella shares a friendly conversation with him, and when he confesses that he can't dance, she gives him an impromptu lesson. But when he asks for her name, she loses her nerve and rides away, accidentally losing her slipper from her horse's back. At this point the story departs considerably from both the Grimms and Perrault. There are no more balls; instead, Gwendolyn and Algernon convince Cinderella to go back to the palace and confess her love to the Prince. But Madame Pompadour catches her with her new finery and locks her in the attic, and then, in a brutal twist, she has the wish-granting tree chopped down. (The fact that the tree was sentient and talked obviously makes this far worse – it's not just a loss of magical help, but a character's death!) Meanwhile, due to a misunderstanding, the King's beleaguered minister Ignatz brings the stepsisters back to the palace, both of them claiming to be the Prince's love, and he has them each try on the slipper to determine who's claim is true. It takes further intervention from the pigeons and their many bird and field mouse friends to help Cinderella escape from her prison and reclaim both her slipper and her Prince.
This is definitely a creative version of Aschenputtel (which also omits its gorier aspects – there's no foot-cutting or eye-pecking). I might like to see the same ideas worked into a full-length adaptation that allows for more character development as well. Even though this is a two-part adaptation, forty minutes long rather than the twenty minutes that the series gave most of its stories, the pace feels very fast all the same. It might also have been nice if there were fewer comedy scenes involving the obnoxious blowhard King (his personality is much the same as Disney's version of the character, but Disney knew to use him in moderation), or at least if his level-headed Queen had more opportunities to talk sense into him. But while not perfect, this is still a Cinderella very much worth seeing. The animation and character designs are charming, the 18th century clothing is nicely atmospheric, and for the most part the characters are well-written and (in the English dub) well-voiced. Cinderella herself is a classic lovely ingenue, her endearingly awkward Prince provides a nice unconventional spin on the character, the stepfamily is appropriately repulsive, and the two pigeons are likable helpers who almost become protagonists in their own right.
Like most episodes of Grimm's Fairy Tale Classics, this episode honors the Grimms' tale, yet adds its own creative choices and charm as well, and as a whole, it's definitely the best of the '80s anime Cinderellas I've seen. I highly recommend both this episode and the entire rest of the series to fairy tale lovers.

Fairy Tale Retellings Masterlist
Tumblr media
If you spend a lot of time on my blog, you might notice that I really enjoy reading fairy tale retellings! And because I also love organization, here are all the fairy tale books I have read and reviewed, grouped by fairy tale and listed alphabetically. Series name is in brackets — if there’s no number it means the series does not need to be read in a specific order. Under the cut because it’s long...

All The Good Girls Go To Hell
This is based on the ask I got of Snow being the bad guy and which turned to Snow White Going Evil AU. Also the title is from Billie Ellish's song. Also thanks to @thegayestasexual for helping me with the title. Also genna base Mira's looks on the comics but add the parts from the show as well. As well as change a few things.
Warnings: none so far really just slight mention of alcohol use
Diana was excited for her story to start right away. Her class had graduated a few months ago and she was eagerly waiting for her fairytale to start.
Mira hadn't even enacted anything on her which was strange really.
She must be planning something spectacular!
She was pacing the walls of Good Castle when she curiously looked out a window and furrows her eyebrows.
A black horse, which oddly had a skull crown decorating it, with knights guarding it, which was somewhat odd since the only person in the land of Ever After who had a black horse with skulls delicately placed on it was...
Oh.
Mira Queen.
Diana frowns, 'why would Mira be here?' she thought before she lit up at the realization.
Every past telling of the Snow White story had the Evil Queen of the story marry into the White family. However, that really couldn't be the explanation
She rushed her way downstairs and skidded as she heard the giggles of Mira Queen who was smiling at something Snow's father, Good King (Edward King), had said.
The giggling caught her off guard, but she shook it off.
"Hey dad," Diana said with a bright smile before furrowing her brows as her father looked at her nervously before smiling big again.
"Diana dear! The person I was looking for," he said with a kind smile.
"What for?" she asked curiously as she glanced at Mira who was wearing a lovely dress that had more bright color in it really.
Tumblr media
"I have some news to tell you my dear," he said softly as he glanced at Mira before looking at his daughter, "Mira and I are courting," he says.
Diana blinked and took a step back at the news. Sure her mother died when she was just a few days old and sure it had to do with her birth combined with how her Evil Queen made the poisoned apple a bit too strong.
Or so they say.
That and because they had to start the tale early because Diana's mother had gotten pregnant at 15 years old with her Good King and didn't want word of what Alice White had done.
Of her being pregnant, so Grimm had told her parents and the Evil Queen of their tale to start the tale early. So as to not have a scandal.
No one suspected anything really.
Mira's mother, Miranna Queen (who was in a way Diana's step grandmother), had been 21 years old because Mira's grandmother had Miraralla first while Alice's mother had Alice 6 years after the birth of Miranna Queen.
So all this time her father spent his time raising her with her maternal grandmother, who was resurrected for the specific purpose to raise Diana, by his side. Never getting in a relationship with anyone, since he was raising the next Snow White.
So to hear that her father, who is 34 years old, is dating Mira is a shock.
Especially since Mira is the same age as Diana.
Even though past tellings had Queens marry that age as well.
Or a bit older.
She smiles weakly, which went unnoticed by Mira and Good King who were holding hands.
She was weary now.
She... didn't think this would happen at all really.
___
"They make such a lovely couple," Diana jumps as she turned to look at Red Ridding Hood, Crimson Hood, and The Big Bad Wolf, Remus Badwolf.
Mira's bffas of course, whom came to the party dinner Good King had hosted.
How odd she had friends who were supposed to be enemies.
Diana smiled weakly and glanced at Diana who was with Edward, the couple were happily talking with Fiona Thorn, better known as Maleficent, and Valarie Goodfairy.
Mira wore purple fish tail skirt that had black stitching that helped make it seem as if animal bones were decorating the skirt, a black queen Anne top with black platform heels. Her hair was done in a fishtail braid, her small crown with the bone of a raven sitting on top delicately on her head.
The sight of beauty.
Diana pushed down the burst of jealousy she had for Mira.
It was ok, she was Snow White, the most fairest, of course Mira would be the fairest 1st. That's how the story goes.
She looked away after a minute to look back at Crimson and Remus and smiled wearily, "indeed."
Crimson bit back a smile, she and Remus knew from Mira that she felt as if Diana was uncomfortable with the relationship of her enemy with her daddy dearest. However, to Crimson and Remus it was clear Mira truly did love Good King. The man had wooed her well and he didn't care at all about her being his daughter's enemy.
The two have been dating for over 5 months, well 7 if you count the 2 months when they kept their relationship a secret, and they looked to be going strong.
"Nothing wrong with it," Diana said with a smile that didn't reach her eyes as she looked back to see Good King place a kiss on Mira's cheek.
Diana wished Willow was there, but her tale was already in progress and well... she wasn't really allowed to dinner parties or anything really.
She did see the ugly stepsisters and their evil mother. So there was that. However, they left after a while once it was 9 PM, she just hoped Willow was ok.
The poor girl never had a chance to leave the home she was now trapped in.
Emerald Lockes was here though, but the woman was so annoying with how she silently criticized the palace each time she came for a visit.
Diana bit back a groan before putting on a dazzling smile and walked up to Emerald.
At least she could talk with her.
Albeit probably not that of interesting things.
___
A year in a half (or almost 2 years and a month really) to Mira and Good King's relationship and Diana was getting impatient.
When the heck will their tale begin?!
She was thinking this during a ball that her father had thrown for Mira's 21st birthday and everyone was invited.
Diana wore a sweetheart gown
Tumblr media
With her hair in a curls, but she felt a bite of anger seeing what Mira was wearing.
(Mira wore this)
Tumblr media
With her mint blonde hair in waves with a small braided part in it.
It was a simple but elegant look that she had somehow been able to pull off with the many animal bone jewelry she wore.
She smiled sweetly to guests and danced with random Charming princes before pausing in confusion as the music stopped.
A spotlight flashed onto her father, who was smiling at Mira who had her hands on the pockets of her dress, whom held a microphone.
The next few things her father said caused her to stand there frozen as the whole room cheered and clapped.
Her father proposed to Mira.
Mira was marrying her father, the Good King, Diana's daddy dearest.
She felt her stomach clench before breathing deeply.
A few hours after the ball ended she paced her room and took deep breaths.
"It's no problem! Plenty of Queens have married a Good King to progress or create a story before poisoning their Snow White," she whispers to herself as she chugged on the bottle of wine that she had sneaked out of the wine cellar.
Her lips were a light blue, the bottle half empty, it was full when she entered the room.
"Yeah...no need to worry! Plenty of them even divorced their Good King," she giggles nervously.
Not remembering that it was a rare few of Queen who did end up divorcing their Good King, but that was years and years after their tale was done.
"Our tale is meant to start," Diana hisses before taking another drink as she remembered how her father called Mira beautiful.
"He's speaking out of love of course," she mumbled to herself.
____
Diana stat there frozen as Mira walked down the isle.
A week had passed after Mira's 21st birthday and the wedding was happening.
Everyone who was important was invited, even the common folk.
Much to the surprise of no one, Mira opted to wear a black wedding gown.
Tumblr media
Her blonde mint hair now dyed black was in curls and she held the black roses close to her as she reached Edward. Remus having walked her down the isle.
It very much suited her.
The rest of the wedding was a blur, all Diana remembered was feeling ice in the pit of her stomach.
'Just part of the story,' Diana chanted in her head throughout the whole day.
3 months later Dia- no! Snow White was now in the woods with the seven dwarfs.
In the glass coffin they made her.
3 months after she had been awoken by her prince, Prince Draiden Charming, and married him she was now living the best life.
She had her own kingdom, well... the kingdom that all past Snow Whites were able to rule over once their story finished.
Her grandmother had given it to her after she got back from her honeymoon.
She fixes her hair when she pauses a little.
"I haven't seen father for almost 4 months," she whispers shocked before finally deciding to go over to Good Castle to visit her father. Surely Evil Queen and him have already divorced.
The story already ended, no need for them to be married!
Snow made her way to Good Castle, she hopped off the carriage and in excitement threw open the doors. She looked around furrowing her eyebrows.
There were many dark knights guarding the place.
....that could only mean one thing.
Evil Queen was still here.
"Ah! Snow! What a lovely visit!" Mira called out from the top of the stairs, her mint blonde hair in a messy braid as she wore a black and violet fish tail skirt with a long sleeved button up black shirt with slingback heels.
"Hello Evil Queen," Snow said with a weak smile which wasn't noticed by Mira who smiled as her husband hugged her.
"There's my beautiful wife! The fairest in my heart," Edward said playfully.
Snow freezes at that. Evil Queen? The fairest?
But.... she was the fairest! Her! Snow White! She, Diana White,THE Snow White was the fairest!
She felt as if she was splashed with cold water.
But she felt as if a damn had been broken.
Mira couldn't still be married to Snow's father unless.... unless their story hasn't actually finished.
If it did then Mira and Good King have to have divorced by now....
"Snow?" Snow blinked and fought off the urge to sneer at her enemy as shr looked up st Mira.
"Yes?"
"Would you like to stay for lunch? Me and Edward have a few things to do later on so really lunch time is the perfect time to catch up," Mira said with a bright smile.
"Sure!" Snow said ignoring the hisses in her mind as Good King cooed at Mira and called her beautiful.
'Draiden never calls me beautiful,' Diana thought bitterly.
'Surely our tale isn't done,' Diana thought darkly as she was handed her plate.
The anger inside of her continued to grow the whole week as she kept visiting and watched how wonderful her father and her enemy's marriage was. Her marriage wasn't like that at all.
How unfair.
Mira couldn't be the fairest. Snow White was!
But Good King kept calling her beautiful! He HAS to call Snow that.
She is his daughter. It's fair.
But he never did it.
How unfair.
Jealousy continued to grow.
She was the fairest.
All of Ever After knew that.
But it looked like they needed a reminder.

𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐯 𝐚𝐬 disney princesses
Tumblr media
↷ ⊹ 𝐒𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐊𝐮𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐃𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐯𝐞𝐬
After watching Pink Festa, Kun’s Stepmother feels severely threatened by his blinding beauty, forcing him to flee to a cottage with six dwarves. Since WayV and manual labor are not compatible (have you seen dream plan), they use robots to mine the crystals. Is still called Mom and devoutly hates it. When he sings, nature bends to his will. Even though the birdies and woodland animals help him with cooking and cleaning he redoes it the right way: “PUT THOSE TAILS AWAY THE DYSON IS COMING THROUGH.” Asks if the apple you’re offering him is sugar, gluten, pesticide, and fat-free cuz he’s a healthy bitch.
↷ ⊹ 𝐓𝐞𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐖𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝
Becomes captivated by Winwin in a waistcoat and doesn’t fall but dives in the rabbit hole after him to escape a nagging Kun. Nibbles on the cake just so he’s taller than Kun and saves the potion so he can make a travel-sized Johnny or Taeyong. Runs into Tweedleji and Tweedlechi and asks them where Win the rabbit hopped off to but all they do is argue about whose head is bigger (Jisung and Chenle - do I even need to explain). Refuses to paint the roses red because it’s so basic and rainbow is obviously the mood. Before Ten finally catches up to Win the rabbit, he wakes up - only he could dream up such an unhinged world.
↷ ⊹ 𝐖𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐚
The worst cinderella. So motherfucking lazy. Manipulates the mice and bluebirds with his aegyo prowess to do all the housework. But too nice to rebel against his stepsisters, Lucastasia and Tenzella, and their devious cat Hendery. Kun, his Fairy Godmother, comes with his magical makeup kit but it doesn’t really work cuz Winderella’s skin is already flawless. Only goes to the ball so he can escape chores. Is literally chased around the ballroom by an adoring Yuta, Taeil, Mark, and a flock of NCT princes (though those three are aggressive). But Winderella is a tall bitch, plus the glass slippers, so whoever ends up dancing with him looks awkward as fuck and will have bruises by midnight.
↷ ⊹ 𝐋𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐈𝐜𝐞
Dotes over his little sister, Hendana, and is horrified when his powers harm her. To occupy himself during his self-isolation, he gets buff. Is intimidated by the growing relationship between Hendana and Xiaojun of the Southern Isles (is also upset about Xiaojun’s superior eyebrows) and runs away to the northern mountains. Completes his ice castle with a 6 monitor gaming setup, a fitness center, and a walk-in cooler just for meat. Didn’t take long for Hendana to track Lucas down, after one run through “Let it Go,” the whole kingdom knew where he went. Only comes back to Arendelle to unfreeze the kingdom when he realizes he cannot eat meat or most foods without heat. And he might have been a little lonely without Hendana (Winwin the snowboi was not cutting it).
↷ ⊹ 𝐗𝐢𝐚𝐨𝐣𝐚𝐬𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐞
The prized princess of the SultaM, Xiaojun is so sheltered, his only friend is Taeyong the tiger. Will order him to attack anyone who shades mint chocolate ice cream (but Xiaojun ripped so he could do it himself). Becomes sick of the SultaM controlling his every move so he escapes with Kun in a jet with his monkey, Yangabu. Eventually, Kun and Yangabu get captured because Kun doesn’t have his pilot license but in reality, the SultaM is just trying to exploit Kun. Realizing Kun could soon be in the same trapped position he’s in, Xiaojun throws his weight around by playing the “well maybe I don’t want to be a princess anymore” card.
↷ ⊹ 𝐇𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐚 𝐓𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫
Pascal who? As if Hendery would allow an amphibian to reside on his shoulder. Fact check: he didn’t want to leave the tower nor did he have any artistic ability. Hendery is a one-man show that entertained himself by giving himself high-fives, talking to his reflection, and dancing hysterically. Escapes that fucking tower screaming because Ten Rider, his dashing savior, chucked him out the window. First thing they do is knock out the boutique employees with a frying pan to steal new clothes because if it ain’t pink it ain’t shit. When Ten Rider unknowingly eats a poisoned apple, Hendery uses his luscious locks to resurrect him. Plot twist, Ten is the real Snow White.
↷ ⊹ 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐥𝐞 𝐌𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐚𝐧𝐠
Being a sneakerhead is hard when you don’t have feet. But when Yangyang sees a human, Prince Henderic (who else honestly), for the first time, he knows he’s gotta get a pair of legs. But since Kun, King of the Ocean, forbids him from swimming above water, Yangyang turns to Ten, the Sea Witch. Hoping to usurp King Kun, Ten promises to give Yangyang what he wants if he swipes Kun’s trident. Being a slick mermaid, Yangyang realizes Kun is a prude and Ten is psychotic so he snatches the trident for himself and turns them both into sea urchins. After transforming his tail into legs, a nude Yangyang is found on the beach by Prince Henderic who makes him a part of his world.

_______________________PROLOGUE________________________________
“My little swan,” he liked to call her. Like in the story. The ugly duckling was clumsy and gangly and loud—
“A nuisance!” Emma would interrupt delightedly. “Like me!”
Yes, a nuisance like her. The other ducklings would swim in their straight lines and let out respectable quacks to greet the bullfrogs and the dragonflies. But the ugly duckling could only squawk, flapping his gray, mottled wings frantically as he tried to catch up.
The others did not look back, not even once. They didn’t like the ugly duckling. They hid their heads in their wings, and pretended not to hear him.
Time went by and soon enough, the ducklings were no longer ducklings. They had grown over the long winter and returned from the south with long, silver feathers. They chattered and quacked excitedly, examining each other’s beauty and reveling in their own. But all that was forgotten when the most beautiful creature of all came into their mist. He was white as snow, with silky feathers and a long, graceful neck. He shone like a star come to rest on earth, and when he glided on the lake, the water around him seemed to sparkle in reverence.
Who was this mysterious creature, the ducks wondered? What was he? For he certainly wasn’t anyone they recognized.
“I know who he was!” Emma would sit upright, her eyes alight with excitement. “He was the ugly duckling!”
David would laugh, the warmth in his eyes glowing as he gently nudged his daughter back to her pillow. “This story is meant to help you fall asleep, little swan.”
“Tell me who the creature was,” Emma would insist. “This is my favorite part.”
The beautiful creature was someone they did not recognize, but they did know. He was their younger brother returned to them: the ugly duckling. Ah, but he was not a duckling after all, but a swan. A magnificent, beautiful swan.
“And that, sweet girl,” David would say softly, tucking her hair behind her ear, “is why I call you my little swan. Scraped knees and messy braids may be all that people see, but one day, they will look at you and realize that you are the most beautiful one of all.”

The day her new stepmother and -sisters arrived, Emma did not feel like a beautiful swan. She felt exactly what she was: a messy, muddy, graceless little girl, with too many freckles and not enough teeth. Lady Regina was dark and elegant, with full red lips that curled into a smile as Emma tried to curtsy before her.
“Lady Mother,” she said awkwardly, wincing as she bent her scabbed knees. The words felt strange in her mouth: Emma had never had someone to call “Mother” before. She hoped it would feel more natural as time went on.
“Girls,” Regina said, her voice smooth and lofty, “say hello to your new stepsister.”
Emma tried not stare at them, for they were almost more beautiful than their mother—as though they had skipped being ugly ducklings, and were swans from birth. Ruby was tall and willowy, and Belle was small and doll-like; both of them with long dark hair and piercing eyes. Their gowns were of the finest silk, studded with gold thread and tiny jewels in the bodice. The girls regarded Emma skeptically as they dipped into immaculate curtsies. Belle rose with a shy smile, but Ruby remained supercilious, glancing away in a show of derisive boredom.
“What do we say, Emma?” David asked, giving her a soft nudge to remind her of what they’d practiced the night before.
“Pleased to meet you.” She bobbed another curtsy, as wobbly and graceless as the first. On impulse, she added breathlessly, “I’ve always wanted sisters.”
“How sweet.” Smiling, Regina took David’s proffered arm, so he could escort her up the stone steps to the manor. Ruby waited until they were out of earshot, then turned back to Emma, her eyes cold.
“We’re not sisters,” she said flatly. “This has nothing to do with us. My mother married your father for his title, and he married her for her money.”
Emma’s cheeks burned at the implication that her father would ever marry for money. He was an honorable, good man. He would never do something so callous and cold. She clenched her fists, but said nothing.
“Come along, Belle,” Ruby said, still eyeing Emma with cold disdain. “Mother will be waiting.”
Belle obediently followed her sister up the steps, sparing Emma a sympathetic look as she passed. Clearly the kinder of the two, but too meek to stand up to her sister. The door closed behind them, as if emphasizing the separation with the the loud thunk! of the oak door.

“Which one shall we read tonight?”
Emma watched as her father, perched in his usual place at the end of her bed, thumbed through the book of fairy tales. “The ash princess,” she said after a minute. “With the fairy godmother.”
“Ag,” David smiled, nodding as he found the page. “One of my favorites.”
“Mine, too.” Emma played with the frayed end of her braid. “Father?”
“Mmm?”
“Can I come with you this time?”
He looked up slowly, his gaze way and exhausted. “Emma,” he began.
“I want to meet the king,” she pleaded. “Please, Father?”
“There’d be no one to look after you,” he said, shaking his head. “I’ll be at council meetings all day. And besides—wouldn’t you miss your stepmother and stepsisters?”
Emma was silent. She didn’t want to tell him that they were the reason why she wanted to go so badly.
“I’ll be back before you know it,” David promised. “Just two weeks.”
“But you just got back.” Emma folded her arms, stubbornly pushing out her chin. “One.”
“Two weeks, little swan.” David looked down in amused exasperation as Emma balanced her fist on her palm, silently challenging him to rock-paper-scissors. After a minute, he gave in: each shook their fist three times and opened their fingers, David’s in a “scissors” and Emma’s in a “rock”.
“All right, all right,” David laughed as Emma triumphantly  bounced her fist over his fingers. “One.”
*                *                  *                  *              *                  *                  *
They stood in a line on the cobblestone path, watching as David checked the horses and secured their harnesses. Marco, the old groomsman, wrestled with a particularly unruly black devil called, “Lucius.” The horse jerked his head back, fighting the bit being forced between his teeth.
“Cazzo Madre de Dio,” Marco swore under his breath.
“Non davanti ai bambini, Marco,” David warned. Marco’s English was limited, and Emma’s Italian nonexistent; but she imagined that Ruby and Belle were more than proficient in foreign languages.
“Must you leave me so soon, husband?” Regina sighed as David came around, placing her delicate fingers on on his chest.
“I’m afraid I must, my love.” David kissed her softly, once on her lips and again on each hand. Then he looked down at her girls, smiling. “Ruby, Belle…”
They dipped into their elegant curtsies. The formality seemed to amuse David, but he complied, offering them each a courtly bow before kissing the tops of their heads. Emma waited at the very end, tears welling in her eyes. Her father took her hands and lowered himself to one knee, his eyes warm and twinkling.
“You’ll look after your stepmother for me, won’t you, little swan?” he said.
Emma hesitated, then nodded slowly.
“And your stepsisters?”
“Yes, Father,” she mumbled, even as Ruby’s words echoed cruelly in her head. We’re not sisters.
“That’s my girl.” He kissed her forehead and rose to a stand. “I’ll be back before you know it.”
“One week,” Emma reminded him.
“One week,” he agreed.
She watched as he climbed the step of the carriage and pulled himself into the driver’s seat. Marco handed him the reins, nodding a farewell to his master as he backed away from the path. Emma clenched her fists, willing herself not to cry. Her throat ached and her vision blurred, but she refused to shed a single tear in front of Ruby.
David snapped the reins and the horses began trotting down the cobblestone, the carriage rattling after them. Emma almost ran after him, but she hung back, her eyes fixed on his dwindling form.
“Come along, girls,” Regina said, starting to turn toward the door with a sweep of her skirts.
“Wait!” Emma said. “He always waves at the gate.”
Regina flicked a dismissive smile, and continued her departure, her daughter trailing after her. Emma remained, watching intently as the carriage rounded the corner of the gate. David raised his hand in farewell—and then, something happened.
He fell.
The world seemed to spin, her nerves on fire, her heart shattering as she watched her father crumple. “FATHER!”
Her own screaming echoed in her ears as she pounded down the path, not breathing, eyes swimming, panic racing through her veins as she ran toward her father’s unmoving form. Get up, get up. Oh, God, please make him get up. Why wasn’t he moving? Why wasn’t he moving?
“Father, please!” she sobbed, falling to her knees beside him. He was still breathing, but his face was contorted in pain, one side scraped with blood and dust.
“David!” Regina’s cry broke through the air. Emma hadn’t even realized she was there, and barely registered it now. Her stepmother’s hands shook as she reached to cup David’s face. “Don’t try to move, my love. I’m here.”
David looked at her, then slowly turned his eyes toward Emma. She choked, the tears she had tried to hold back now streaming down her face as her father looked at her for what she knew was the last time.
“I love you,” he whispered.
And then, his eyes dulled and saw no more. The warm, twinkling eyes turned gray and glassy, staring unseeingly at the sky.
“No!” Regina cried, her voice rising in hysterics as Emma bent over her father’s body, sobbing uncontrollably. “You cannot leave me here! You cannot leave me here!”
But she wasn’t the one he was leaving: Emma was. He’d left her to the mercy of her stepmother and stepsisters, unknowingly sentencing her to a life of misery and servitude. Because over the next twelve years, Regina would blame Emma for David’s death; for the fact that he had given his last words to his daughter, rather than his wife.
When Regina assumed control of the household and finances, she’d decided that Emma was too much of an expense and put her to work, demanding that she earn her own keep. “I have to provide for my children first,” she’d said, reminding Emma as she so often did that she was now an orphan. “I can’t afford a third child on a widow’s living.” Her daughters remained in the highest fashion with the finest possessions, and Emma was given a small, dusty room with naught but a few books and a crumbling hearth to curl by in the winter. She’d had to snitch a few horse blankets to keep warm, and only the kindness of the old cook, Mrs. Lucas, kept her clothed and shoed. The younger housemaid, Astrid, had taught her what she needed to know to be a servant in a lady’s household, and Marco assumed a protective, grandfatherly role over Emma. Together, the four of them created a broken little family that slightly soothed the ache in Emma’s heart. Still, Regina and her daughters seemed intent on destroying every ounce of happiness in her life. Belle less so than the others, though she said nothing when Regina and Ruby directed cruel words and biting commands toward Emma. The few sources of comfort Emma had left were her father’s books and the chest in the attic that contained her mother’s remaining possessions: remnants of the loving family she’d once had.
___________________________CHAPTER 1_________________________________
It was a hard life, and she feared she would never escape it. And for twelve years, she was right. Until the day she met the horse thief, when one perfectly-aimed apple would end up changing her life forever.
She could taste autumn in the early morning air. It smelled of smoke and frost and changing leaves, filling her lungs and leaving a pleasant sting on her skin. Emma smiled to herself as she picked her way around the thick bundles of trees and brambles, guiding the pig as he hunted for truffles. Later in the week, she would sell them in the street market, along with whatever fruits and vegetables Astrid could get from the garden.
The pig snuffled loudly as he found his treasure. “Good boy,” Emma whispered, kneeling down to gather the truffles and put them in her basket. The dirt caked under her nails and her skin was scratched by wayward twigs, leaving thin red lines. She lifted her hands, examining them with a small sigh of regret. They were rough and scarred: so unlike the delicate smooth whiteness of a lady’s. Just another thing for Ruby to mock.
By the time she was heading back to the manor, the sun had started to rise and golden streaks shown through trees. Marco should have been in the stables, brushing down the horses, but ever since the silverware had gone missing…
Emma’s hands tightened on the basket as she thought of the false accusations Regina had cast against Marco: that he was a thief and a liar, taking advantage of a widow’s generosity. She remembered his desperate pleas as clung to the bars of the constable’s carriage, trembling as he begged in broken English for release. His bail had been set at twelve silver florins, and it would take a hundred street markets before she’d earned enough to set him free. Still she couldn’t abandon him to the brutal prison conditions: he would never survive them.
“Morning,” she said, entering the kitchen through the side door. Mrs. Lucas was already working dough for the morning bread, while Astrid churned butter. The ladies of the house would still be asleep at this hour, but the preparations for their basic comforts began at dawn.
“Any luck?” Astrid asked, wincing from the blisters on her hands. Emma shook the basket in response, half-smiling.
“That’s a good girl,” Mrs. Lucas nodded. “Those’ll fetch a good price. Now—give those hands a wash, and see if you can’t get some apples for her ladyship’s breakfast. Might make her a bit more, uh…”
“Human?” Emma suggested, rubbing the dirt from her hands in the wash basin. Regina had a certain fondness for apples, and the treat might soften the normal bite of her marks.
“Well, they’re apples, not magic beans,” Astrid observed wryly. Emma snorted and wiped her hands dry, reaching for a clean apron. After securing it around her waist, she pushed her hair behind her ears and balanced an empty bushel on her hip.
“Back soon,” she called over her shoulder, nudging the door open with her toe. The other women responded with vague farewells and promises of breakfast when she returned.
The grass was still damp with morning dew as she cut across the grounds to the small ring of apple trees. Red-gold globes hung heavily from the branches, the sweet and heady scent pervading the air. Emma set the bushel down and dropped to her knees, gathering the few apples that had already fallen.
They were scattered around the trees in a vague circle, so rather than moving the bushel around, she used her apron to hold them. She was just reaching for one that had fallen a bit further than the others when she heard a familiar, high-pitched neigh resounding through the air. Emma frowned and whipped around, recognizing the powerful black horse kicking up on its rear legs as a cloaked figure on his back pulled at the reins.
Lucious.
Her father’s finest horse, his fierce and fiery black devil—and some common thief was trying to take him?
“Oh, no, you don’t,” she muttered, getting up and running toward him. The apples tumbled from her apron— all but one. In her hand, it became a weapon: one that she hurled with deadly accuracy at the thief, hitting him squarely in the head.
“Bloody hell!” he exclaimed, tumbling from the horse and landing painfully on the ground. Lucius bolted, grateful for his freedom, but rather than going after him, Emma scrabbled for the fallen apples to launch at her enemy.
“Thief!” she spat furiously, pummeling his head—his shoulders—his chest with apples. “How dare you steal my father’s horse!”
“Stop!” he shouted, struggling to stand up, raising his arm to shield himself. “Madam, I command you to stop! By order of—”
“Of what?” Emma shot back. “Lord of the thieves, are you?”
“By order of the king!” The thief flung back his cloak in an indignant flurry that Emma might have laughed at, had she not recognized the shining golden crest the pinned the cloak to his shoulders. Terror struck in the pit of her stomach and she fell to her hands and knees, trembling.
“Forgive me, Your Highness, I did not see you!” she stammered, begging every saint in heaven that he—who she now realized was the prince—would have mercy.
He let out a  wry chuckle, and Emma peeked through the curtain of blonde hair shielding her eyes to see that he was massaging his jaw, regarding her with a mixture of amusement and disdain.“Your aim, madam, would suggest otherwise.”
“I-I—” Emma swallowed, fear swelling in her throat so that her voice was a croak. “I thought you were a thief, my lord.”
“Indeed, I am.” There was the sound of leather scraping leather as the prince swung himself onto Lucious’s back. The horse trotted around her in a circle, and the prince spoke again, “Rest assured,” he said, the sounds of metal on metal clinking within the folds of his cloak, “I will return the beast to you, since you care for it so. And as an honorable thief, I shall compensate you for the misfortune.”
Then came the heavy sound of a bulging leather sack, dropping from his hand to the ground. Emma hardly dared to breathe, let alone look inside. Even so, she couldn’t helping looking up again, barely raising her head to glimpse the prince’s handsome face and tousled black hair. His eyes glinted, and she wondered if even through the dirty tangles of blonde hair obscuring her face, he could sense her gaze.
“My mercy exists on one condition,” he said, though his smirk seemed more amused than bitter this time.
“Y-yes, my Lord?”
He snapped the reins, and Lucious reared again. “Never let it be known that Prince Killian was nearly bested by a country maid with a bushel of apples!”
With that, Lucious took off, his hooves beating the ground heavily as he galloped away. Emma remained bowed and trembling, never daring to breathe until the sound of Lucious’s hooves had faded completely. Only then did she slowly straighten up, bones cracking, to stare at the bulging leather sack before her.
It was about the size of her fist, tied with a thick leather cord. Emma cradled it in her hands, feeling the hard metal edges of what couldn’t have been coins, because that would have been too generous a stroke of luck. Still, she managed to pull the cord, effectively opening the sack, and a small avalanche of golden florins spilled into her hands.
“Madre de Dio,” she whispered, marveling at the wealth before her. This would more than buy Marco’s freedom. Emma let out a laugh of disbelief before a flood of joyful tears came to her eyes, and she thanked God for the rich thief who’d just changed everything for the better.

Here’s a PR5R Headcanon AU, What if instead of Sumire trying to commit suicide, she developed a palace (like how Futaba got one) and Kasumi goes into the Metaverse, and gains a Persona.
ooooooooohhh
i’m currently working on a roleswap au with sumi as the protag, so this is good warm-up/character study!!
so if we want to work with the theme of cendrillon and cinderella, there’s always the possibliity of sumire viewing herself as the evil stepsister to kasumi’s cinderella. it could be a fairytale palace, where sumire is at the ball, trying to get the prince’s favor (could be a scholarship, the first place medal, etc). if kasumi were to enter, she would automatically be disguised from shadow sumire’s view, like how the dress made cinderella unrecognizable to her family, but kasumi would see her sister in the way sumire sees herself - wicked, jealous, second-rate. this would probably the catalyst of her awakening.
instead of dancing, maybe duelling and sword dancing would be the way to gain ranks in the prince’s favor. perhaps kasumi is already at the finals, seeing as sumire views her gymnastics skills as superior, and she just has to wait to fight her sister for the prince’s favor.
this would probably be the final straw. forced to fight her sister is kasumi’s worst nightmare, because they’re twins. they’re each other’s halves. she refuses to fight, and therefore awakens to her persona to wake sumire up from the dream that she’s not as good as kasumi. they realize that the fairy tale sumire’s palace has set up for them is untrue, and that the whole palace is just hollow and fake. they make a resolution to write their own story, together, from now on.
kasumi’s persona would be odette, the white swan from swan lake. kasumi would realize she’s not the wicked sister, and drops the whole princess thing for a different kind of vibe. to mirror her sister’s odette, it’s possible sumire could awaken to odile, the black swan. however, that kind of pits them against each other, so unless we ignore the meaning of the character, it doesn’t quite work.
what does work, however, is the tale of snow white and rose red. where snow white is shy and self-conscious, rose red is outgoing and lively. this mirrors them quite well and avoids pitting them against each other. kasumi would get rose red and kasumi would get snow white, if we choose to abandon cendrillon.
hope this fulfilled your headcanon cravings!! this was an interesting idea to explore! <33

Disney Movies List
Ok first of all I want to make clear that english is not my first language. I therefore apologize in advance for any grammar or spelling mistakes. Please don't be too strict with me =D
I recently bought Disney+ and I plan now to watch and review every movie, Disney has ever produced or participated in it. And I tell you, this will be a hell of a trip, because my list now contains no fewer than 701 movies. That means if I watch at least one movie every day, it will take me about 2 years to see all of them. And since I will most likely not watch a movie every day, I will definitely need at least twice as long....
For the films on my list, which I marked with a cross at the end, it means that I have seen them already. However, since I last saw most of these movies in my childhood or teenage years (so at least 15 years ago), it will be interesting for me to rewatch them after such a long time. I have probably already forgotten most of the plots.
I also plan to watch them in chronological order and rank them. The movies that I don't find on Disney+ I will watch somewhere else.
Here is the list: (The films follow the chronological order in which they were published. However, it is quite possible that I accidentally swapped a few. But I think most of it is accurate).

Chapter 16-Aithne
Looking at the woman, I paled.
I should have already realized that she was the stuff of nightmares, just by looking at her bloodstained dress. The white-and-red cloth of her dress fluttered in the wind as she placed each foot in front of the other. I slowly moved my gaze higher. Her hair hung down from the side of her face, thin, straight strands as black as dusk. They seemed shorn off at her waist, like someone had cut them with a sword. I didn’t speculate further.
Then I saw her eyes.
Off-white holes. No irises, no pupils, nothing. I stared into those white pits, which seemed to be boring holes like bullets in my heart. They stared back, empty, hallow, sunken, almost desperate.
“I know you fear me,” she spoke up, shattering the silence that hung in the air. “I can see it in your eyes. Deep down, you utterly, truly, are scared.”
Gulping, I tried to narrow my eyes at her. “I-I’m not,” I choked, looking away.
“Oh, really?” She seemed to be taunting me. “Well, how about now?”
She transformed, shimmering as she raised her arms. Her dress grew longer, cleaning itself up until it shone, a white brighter than the stars themselves. She snapped, and a denim jacket buttoned itself on top. Her sandals, ripped and broken, were replaced by soft yellow sandals, the strings tied up into small bows. Her entire body frame changed, from pale and skinny, to around my build, just ever so slightly taller than me. Her skin now glowed a snow white. Her face’s change was the most shocking though. Her eyes...they were amber, like mine. Her nose was hooked... mine is too. Her hair grew shorter and wavier, until it hung to her elbows, and the brown that colored her hair was similar to mine, yet again.
And then she sprouted wings. Fluffy and white, identical to Laila’s, just larger. A burst of light appeared, and a halo rested on her head, floating above her hair, glowing brightly. It was the only source of pure light in this whole darn place (maybe other than Astra’s shield and Laila’s wings).
She looked down, down at me, her almond-shaped eyes filled with tears.
“Aithne, it’s been so long since we met. Where have you been all this while? Why haven’t you come to see me?”
Wait. I recognized her.
“C-Cassiel?”
I reeled backwards, as if I had taken a slap to the face. What— how was she here? I thought she had left me and Father years ago. Gone, to live with Stepmother.
“I am not your sister.” The spirit hissed and took on its original form. “Even she had the common sense to leave you.” It felt like the spirit had taken a knife and slashed me straight in the heart, where I was weakest.
“Scared now, aren’t you? See what I can do now? My powers far outweigh yours. Now cower in fear... and kneel to me.” It leered down at me, smirking as if it had succeeded.
That was the last straw.
Yelling, I sped straight at the beast, holding my palms out. A flaming sword flashed, then fell into my palms, enchanted steel encased in flame yet again. At the last second, I jumped, my wings propelling me into the air. I aimed, grimacing and preparing for the final hit, but the apparition was quicker. It turned into a swirling black mass, a terrifying nightmare for most, and shot out a tentacle, grabbing me by the neck. Before I could even react, it pinned me to the wall, its arm shimmering and giving off wisps of black dust.
“Give up already, insolent fool,” the spirit’s red eyes flashed, reminding me of the roses that bloomed in the depths of hell, beautiful but deadly. I looked down. “You are no match for me, young one. Since the beginning of time, when night falls, I creep and lurk under all the young toddlers’ beds, bringing them sleepless nights. I form children’s nightmares, add to the burdens of teenagers’ anxiety, feed and fuel the fire of adults’ depression. I am the pure embodiment of Fear itself. I am dangerous, unescapable, inevitable, sometimes even fatal. I am stronger than anything else. And now, it is time for me to consume your soul, and to keep it with the rest. Well, at least you had the honor of meeting Fear face-to-face.” It cackled at its own joke.
Then it clicked. I knew how to defeat it.
I didn’t just have to look in its eyes. I also had to face my fears. Gah, why didn’t I remember this before? Now I’m pinned to the wall by this disgusting black creature.
Slowly, I lifted my head once more, meeting its cold, hard gaze. I inhaled deeply. “I see you,” I began, then smirked. “I see you for what you are. You’re not a monster, you’re a coward.” The monster’s grip began to loosen as it snarled, rearing back. It was working.
“You hide and strike the enemies behind their backs. You refrain from physical fights; you resort to the mind. You’re not even a tangible being, just a bunch of fluid shadows. Just like the spirit before, yet far, far weaker.” It further loosened its grip, too focused on trying to regain its strength. I stepped out, flapping my wings and rising up until we were face-to-face.
“What sorcery is this?!” it wailed. I merely glared it at, continuing my speech.
“I see you in your true form now. You aren’t even terrifying, just a lost spirit.” Almost there. Now for the final line.
“And now, having seen all this, I have decided. I’m. Not. Scared.” I emphasized on the last three words. With a final howl, the spirit started to change its form—she became a young schoolgirl in her torn, tattered pinafore. She now looked about our age, though her mental state was definitely way older than that.
“So, you’ve found out,” the spirit whispered, in a voice softer than before, “Yes, I’m just a lost spirit. I long for someone to stand up for me. You... don’t know what it’s like to be killed by the pair of hands that had bullied you for a whole decade.
“In my past life, I was a pathetic girl. Poor, weak, and timid. When I died, I had such a strong thirst for revenge that I not only survived reincarnation, but also gained the ability to instill fear into others’ souls. I wanted to make that person feel what I had endured. But I guess... I lost control of my own self...” the girl looked at her open palms, then up at the sky, “It really is time for me to go. So, let me bless you all with the last of my life force. I wish you the best of luck in your journey ahead.”
Then, the spirit began to disappear. She smiled and waved at us, before fading to black, and back to the shadows where she belonged.
I turned back towards my two friends, once again burying the lump in my throat. I smiled tiredly. I hadn’t felt like this since I was five. Since... since Cassiel left me. That spirit led the kind of life I always thought I did.
But maybe it was about time I realized that others had suffered as much as, if not more than me.
“Hey, guys,” I waved weakly, “I did it.” Astra slowly let down her shield. She dashed forward and squeezed me hard, hugging me.
“That... that was so brave, Aithne. I’m so glad you managed to take over that spirit.” I hugged her back and then pushed her away, ruffling her hair absentmindedly. Then Laila stepped forward.
“Aithne... about your sister... I’m so sorry.” She didn’t sound like she was bored, nor tired. She sounded like she had...found out about Cassiel. Had she used one of her angelic powers on me?
I quickly dismissed the thought and raised my head. Laila wasn’t the nosy type. Even if she had found out, it was probably for the better. “Stepsister,” I corrected. “And it’s fine. But we shouldn’t waste any more time dilly-dallying. Let’s get a move on! C’mon, let’s go!”

Snow and Rose
When Lisette’s father King Markus married Derica’s mother Clothilda both girls were certain that it would be a mistake for not only the fact that neither one of them liked the idea of having a new mother/father but also because the two girls have nothing in common. Lisette is shy and proper while Derica is daring and wild. Right away the two had decided that sisters was the last thing they would be.
However shortly after Lisette turns seven, her father is called away to fight in a war with a rival kingdom and her beautiful new stepmother decides to send both of the girls to live in the forest, claiming it is for their protection. There the young stepsisters start to become close and care for each other as real sisters while being raised by Derica’s strict but wise grandmother Agatha.
Growing up, Derica becomes the center of attention in their village with her free spirit and alluring red hair that’s as red as the rose while Lisette just keeps to herself with her only friend being  Elias, an amnesic and most unusual boy with abnormally long hair, untrimmed nails, and an appearance that causes many to mistake him for a bear.
When the girls become young women Clothilda invites them to return to the palace but shortly after they arrive everyone in the kingdom begins to notice how beautiful Lisette has grown, especially her ebony black hair, her blood red lips, and her snow white skin. They all cannot help but admire her beauty and notice her resemblance to her late mother, the first Queen Adelaide. This makes the vain Clothilda very jealous and angry due to her great hatred of Adelaide and her desire to be the fairest in all the lands. When her envy gets the better of her, she orders her dwarf servant Godfrey to kill Lisette and he hungrily agrees.
However Lisette is saved by Elias who followed her and together they flee into the forest to seek refuge with seven kindly dwarves who have raised Elias since they rescued him as a child. They happily agree to let Lisette stay with them and they tell her how they are all really animals who were given the power to shape shift as a way to protect the innocent and good souls who enter the forest. But Godfrey, the wolf and eighth dwarf turned wicked and cannibalistic, so the other dwarves left him after he tried to kill Elias. They warn her that Godfrey can still change his forms and to not trust anyone with “Soulless eyes.” Lisette is sure that she is safe as long as she stays with Elias and the dwarves but she underestimates her stepmother’s determination to see her dead.
Meanwhile when Derica learns of Lisette’s disappearance (But knows nothing of her mother’s involvement) she decides to go looking for her. Her grandmother protests but she cannot be swayed so she gives Derica a special red cloak that she had been sewing for her and tells her to never take it off when she is alone in the forest because it will protect her. On her journey in the forest, Derica encounters Johan a young man who claims to just be a common hunter but is actually the prince of the rival kingdom in search of his older brother who was supposedly kidnapped and killed by King Markus thus sparking the war. Johan tries to convince Derica to leave the forest, warning her that it’s full of wolves and other beasts but she does not listen which makes her a perfect target for Godfrey.
This is a fairy tale story I may write in the future. It’s based off of three popular fairy tales by the Brothers Grimm. Snow White, Little Red Riding Hood, and Snow White and Rose Red. If this is a story you would like to read please tell me.
