i like to note his overall freakassery in cod a lot but generally speaking i dont think that alone can speak for trevors character
however, at the same time, i also dont think that it doesnt speak for his character at all. exacerbated as it might be by whatever circumstances you want to offer up, the fact that he does everything he does in cod speaks to at least some form of it being there regardless -- the vicious bluntness, the violence, the neglect to mention important information out of worry it might have a negative impact on the overall achievement of the goal and such, all of that should have a basis in his character even without the high stress or perhaps cursed nature of his situation in curse of darkness.
at the same time, though, that isnt his entire character, and i dont want to say that it is, because his nature is to be contradictory as a whole, both as the meat of what makes him so compelling to me and the meat of what makes him a perfect little example of humanity as a whole. at his heart he wants to help people even if they shun him, he befriends everyone he can, his first instinct is to try and do the right thing even if his perception of it is wrong (sorry hector).
but while he can encompass humanitys good, and he often does, he also encompasses the bad, especially in the context of curse of darkness' set dressing. you cant have him as a representation of humanity without keeping the nasty bits, at least in part. he reacts first and asks later, he assumes things and doesnt wait for explanations. hes brutal and doesnt mince his words, to the point it often comes across as outright mean. his foresight is so legendarily bad its a question whether or not he has it at all. etcetera.
anyway this is incoherent but basically i at once want to emphasise that while i dont think his actions in curse of darkness dictate trevors entire character, certainly not, i also dont think its very fun to act as if they dont dictate any of his character, because a very, very large part of curse of darkness as a whole is that it works to actively exacerbate all its main characters worst traits, but can only do so for traits that were already there. and cursed or not, trevor is no different
so uh. yeah.

got bored... feel free to disagree. detailed explanations that no one asked for below the cut ok awesome.
for trust i think it's a given thet they would trust and know each other well after facing each other for years. for jealousy i don't particularly see either as the jealous type but pep is probably a bit more toxic so his is higher. for horniness i think pep is a freak and also he's the one who has talked about sex twice in pressers so i have to put him that high. also klopp is old. for clinginess pep is always the one hanging onto klopp so
for "how it happens" i've detailed this a bit before here. for relationship attitude it is quite clear that they are disgustingly attached to one another in public. no particular reasoning for placement on the dedicated/casual axis other than i want them to be there
i am deadset on klopp first to confess and pep first to kiss which is also outlined in the post linked above. and i think klopp would be first to apologize since he probably calms down faster. pep initiates contact more (like he does quite often). don't really care about spoiling but it seems more of a klopp thing to do. i think they both wake up pretty early but pep earlier. i feel like klopp would be useless at cooking and housework (he only learned to use a dishwasher during lockdown??) so yeah. and klopp does the talking for obvious reasons. popularity really depends on what metrics you're going by (klopp for personality, pep for manager) or what club you're a fan of lmao. designated driver is a bit tough since they'd both drink but one time klopp said he drank so much he threw up all over the floor which i can't see pep doing so there's that. caregiver and overprotective again just give off klopp vibes a bit. pep is obviously the planner and for the last one... yeah not sure i can picture it in my head both ways? it doesnt really matter to me
i like klopp big spoon and pep little spoon and i think it works with their height difference as well. like i said for early bird i think pep wakes up earlier. pep seems like a bit of a neat freak while klopp seems like the type to not care (tbh just look at their daily outfit choices). for the bug one i somehow feel that pep wouldn't like bugs that much. for lending/borrowing clothes i know i just talked about their outfit differences but i think pep would mischievously steal some of klopp's larger sized clothes (though maybe not the ones with lfc on). for romantic vs casual i took this as to mean traditionally romantic which pep seems quite into. he wants to go on dinner dates drinking wine ffs whereas i think klopp doesn't really care about that stuff but'll do it if it makes pep happy. klopp decisive because he doesn't overthink and pep indecisive because he overthinks. takes hints vs clueless is a bit contentious and possibly controversial but i think pep would be good at reading klopp (tbh it's not hard) whereas klopp has friendly/close relations with a lot of people so he might be more prone to overlooking certain actions. i put them both leaning towards playful although tbh they're both depending on the occasion. they can be giggly and flirty but also serious. klopp is very straightforward and wouldn't like to mince words while pep seems like he has more passive aggressive tendencies. i think they're both confident with klopp caring less about what others think of him. ray of sunshine would be more klopp and his "beautiful smile" because that phrase does not describe pep at all. i think pep would be more realistic because he'd lean more into facts and klopp would be more idealistic because he'd lean more into feelings. turning from doubters into believers ya know. they're both independent and would hate to be bothered by people they don't know. pep is tense because he overthinks and is constantly stressed whereas klopp doesn't super seem to care. and the head and heart difference i think should be obvious

another thing ive been thinking about is how everyone portrays haikavetham arguments. theyre always pretty dramatic, loud, and scathing. and while we do see them fight like this, its interesting that it only really happens around the traveller.
like, at the end of al haithams story quest, when him and kaveh are in the study alone, with traveller presumably left already, yes theyre still insulting eachother but its much more playful. when youre around, they can barely have a conversation around the arguing. however, once youre gone, they have a very civil and even friendly discussion, with some bickering and jabs thrown in.
we see this again in the championship. with people around, there are biting remarks and lots of arguing. but after the championship, in the hidden scene between just them, its much more calm. and you can chalk it up to it being a rougher subject, but theyre still bickering, lightly insulting eachother eith no real bite, and al haitham isnt one to mince his words for the sake of a touchy topic.
i think these alone moments are more accurate in their depiction of their dynamic. yes they clash views and yes they love to get on eachothers nerves, but i dont think its as ruthless or as emotional as some make it out to be. can it get that way? sure. and it seems it does whenever kaveh is especially stressed about something, the first time we see it is when kaveh is inquiring about al haitham literally overthrowing the akademiya in kavehs abscence. the second is when an unexpected visitor is in their house (the house kaveh doesnt want to know he lives in) and al haitham just got out of another risky situation, where he was the target. and then again when he has just lost the first round of the competition.
and then The Fight. we know there were tensions there that lead to it being as dramatic and intense as it was. but we also know that they were friends before, that even with their clashing ideals and dispositions, they got along and hung out and were close enough to do a project together, something made even more exceptional by the fact that theyre in seperate darshans, seperate years even.
and so i believe that this bickering isnt new from the rift of the fight. this is probably what they acted like beforehand. but in the wake of kaveh dealing with all that he was, the stress of the project, and al haitham questioning his ideals (in a way that was trying to prove right vs. wrong. unlike how they speak about it now) the fight was bad, like all the ones they have when kavehs particularly stressed out. except it went too far because kaveh was a bit too stressed out, a bit too upset before even going into the fight. i dont think this fight was a culmination, or indicative of where they inevitably will always end up, i think it was a stars aligning against them, just wrong situation at the wrong time outlier.

What about Nanami is it that you thirst? Like what draws u to like his character
mmMMM first off I am a whore for tall lanky slendermen-built men in glasses (see: nighteye, tsukki, kyoya) and his composure and cbf attitude is enough to make me lose my mind. I know my main Type™️ is painfully pretty boys who are either irrationally horny, virgins, or both, but the daddy issues in me manifests into this subType™️ of just Responsible Calm Tired Grown Men who exude stern mean dom energy, and that’s Nanamin for me. He’s the whole package, honestly. (ノ∀ ̄〃)

I'm coming at this from the perspective of someone who likes Tegan a lot as a character and thinks she's hilarious, but the grief she gets for Being Her™️ is multifaceted;
1) The protagonists, from her introduction, have reacted to her with disdain and annoyance; so there's this unintended, but implicit idea of "if the protags don't like her, then I shouldn't probably" that some people take away from that (and it's not an 'intelligence' thing or a 'failure or reading comprehension', before anyone gets that idea; people just react to narrative emotionally and logically in different ways).
2) In the interaction wherein she made Milo cry, she showed no real regret over it and even chided Cody for valuing "protecting his feelings over being honest". She was not intending to be mean for the sake of being mean, and the narrative makes that obvious, showing she values honesty and truth very deeply- something that's reinforced again in the current chapter- but of course, the truth sometimes hurts, or can be unrelentingly blunt and to the point. As a result, people have that emotional reaction of "wow, you didn't have to be such a dick".
3) Whilst I don't think it can be boiled down to just "she's abrasive and she's a girl, girls aren't supposed to be abrasive, that's weird, ew icky", there is likely an element of that in there; that she's not docile, or "Nice", or demure, or whatever typically "feminine" traits you want to throw out threatens some people on a personal level (nevermind the absurdity of feeling threatened by a completely fictional character who is also barely a teenager, mind you), and crucially, it's not just male readers.
4) That she also has no shame about who she is and how she presents herself threatens some people, and I don't just mean the "she's brutally honest" thing. The fact that she is openly, excitably enthusiastic about her writing- her fanfic (a concept that makes some people go "ugh" inherently)- as well as for the current investigation triggers that kind of "WHY ISN'T SHE EMBARRESSED??? I'D BE EMBARRASSED!!! SHE SHOULD BE EMBARRASSED!!!" mindset.
5) As I myself have said countless times- and this is something that also applies to Milo and Cody as well- kids/teenagers are still developing their sense of empathy. "Kids Are Cruel", as a concept, isn't suggesting that anyone under 18 is predisposed to evil; it's highlighting that mist kids and teens don't have the life experience to fully grasp how much emotional damage they can incur. It's not a matter of critical intelligence at all, and it's not a failure of emotional intelligence; it's a natural, completely understandable *lack* of emotional intelligence. Tegan, Milo, Cody- they're barely teenagers for christ sake, they're still developing their senses of empathy and are all at different points in development.
6) Tegan doesn't have the "excuse" of trauma shaping her behaviour, so far as we know currently; she's adopted, yes, but she's in a happy and healthy home and isn't openly displaying any angst about the fact. So her moments of being a "bad egg" can't be justified because she's "damaged" or hurting the same way, for example, Milo can be- nevermind that this is all inferred, because the narrative hasn't definitely said Tegan doesn't carry weight with her in some aspect, but if it's not said, it's not there until it is in some folks' minds.
As mentioned, Milo does get some grief for being "a brat" from some people- and lets not mince words, he can be a bit of a brat sometimes (cos, y'know, again, he's a young teenager who lost his birth father and has family baggage as a result; even before the supernatural stuff factoring in, that's heavy for someone his age to deal with and process)- but he has "reasons", he has "excuses" for his behaviour. Tegan doesn't, so far as these people are concerned, so she's just a rotten egg. It is, to put it mildly, very silly.
BIG OL' DISCLAIMER: I'M NOT SAYING PEOPLE CAN'T DISLIKE A CHARACTER AND IF Y'AIN'T A BIG FAN OF TEGAN IT'S WHATEVER, YOU DO YOU, BUT THE SHEER AMOUNT OF UNFAIR AND LOPSIDED GRIEF SHE GETS FROM A LOT OF READERS IS STAGGERING AND IT'S INTERESTING TO LOOK AT AND EXTRAPOLATE WHY THAT IS
BUT WHY DOESNT JAKE GET-

Pentagon Kino - Birth Chart Analysis
“Hi! love ur writing huhu do you think u could do a birth chart analysis thingy on kino from ptg??? ik hes an aquarius but he doesnt really seem like one??? sdfd thank u :)”
aaaaaah thank you so much for requesting this, ive been aching to write sth like this for ages lmao. i didnt know from which angle you wanted it, like relationships, sex or whatever so ima just do an overall kinda one. lmk if you want something more focused aha Also i agree lol, hyunggu doesn’t really seem like a straight up aquarius, i wish i knew what time he was born i could see his ascendant lmao ALSO. I’ve just done the first 6 placements as they seem to be the ones most people care about lmao, lmk if you want me to do the remaining ones
Tumblr media
Sun (our true self, the soul) - Aquarius (1st Decan): This is what makes Hyunggu the social butterfly he is lol, what’s probably responsible for him being in so many different social circles. Aquarians have many many varied fields of interest, which usually end up being quite niche or “out there” lol, just like how Hyunggu, the 22 year old man in 2020, LOVES old school jazz music and classic movies. 1st decan Aquarians are (mostly) open books who really do shine more when they have an audience, or at least with a lot of people surrounding them. But with that being said, they're also totally happy to be in their own company bc they know themselves so well, they’re comfortable with themselves. They also have persistence like no other lol; when they set their mind to something, there’s no lengths they wont go to to achieve it. AKA Kino the workaholic who spends his life in the studio lol
Moon (emotions, instincts, our vulnerable side) - Capricorn: Much more emotional than people think, but he prefers to keep it private. He’ll only let his emotions out fully if he totally trusts the people he’s with. (the fact that unis have seen him cry numerous times is a testament to how much he trusts us ig sdgjsg so sweet) He loves taking care of people; he likes to feel needed. With that in mind though he can be a bit of a “fixer” lol which might not always be a good thing, he’s attracted to people who look like they need some help. One of the most devoted placements in terms of relationships, they aren’t ones that really go for one night stands or short fling type relationships. This placement makes him surprisingly traditional in relationships lol, like he loves homely warm kinda vibes in that sense. Likes to show off any relationship he does have though lol, like he wont air out any private details, but he does want the world to see how well yall are doing lol.
Mercury (How we communicate & express ourselves, intellect) - Capricorn: DONT EVER BREAK A PROMISE WITH HYUNGGU OMG. He’ll never forgive you. This boy takes promises so seriously, and takes any secrets with him to his grave. If he ever gives you his word on anything, you best believe he means it with every fibre of his being. Kino isn’t someone to mince his words, he always means what he says. He’ll still try his best to not hurt any feelings, but he won’t lie. This is what helps him follow through with all the ideas that he gets, he’s great at planning and knowing what’s worth seeing through to the end and what just wont work. Which is probably why everything he’s ever put out to the public is god tier shit lol, he wont spend time on anything less than perfection. Another placement that favours tradition, you wont ever catch him slipping up on any honorifics or social formalities lmao.
Venus (how we are in love & romance, creativity, what brings us joy)  - Capricorn: Kang Hyunggu perfect husband material confirmed. Capricorn is the sign that cares most about traditions and stuff in relationships. Not always like old school kinda traditions, but he cares greatly about anniversaries and stuff lol. Very cautious in love, he wont open up or admit his feelings easily and he wont even bother pursuing someone he doesn’t see at least somewhat of a future with. Insanely loyal and steadfast in love. He’s someone you can always count on no matter the time or place, and he wants someone who’ll do the same for him. He wants a fairy tale romance lol. He wants to be remembered for what he does, to leave a legacy that lasts forever. Big on validation, he loves to be complemented and revered; then he’ll feel like all the hours of work and effort he’s put in actually meant something lmao.
Mars (sex, passion, anger, what drives us) - Pisces I feel like this placement is the reason why Hyunggu can get so mushy and emotional. Pisceans are totally driven by their emotions, sometimes to a fault. So when it comes to something that he’s so so passionate about: ie. Pentagon, his emotions can just totally overwhelm him and before we know it hes sobbing on national TV (im looking at u rtk...). Sex isn't something he takes lightly at all, if there’s no emotion or love involved, it just doesn’t feel right to him. He views sex as something that’s good for the soul lol, its very much an emotional thing for him, as opposed to just a physical need. Very much a hopeless romantic; the type to write poetry for their significant other and cry whilst they read it to you lmao. He’d really give his all to someone he loves, to him self sacrifice is the grandest gesture of love lol. Just remember that it was him who wrote Die For U...yeah...he’s very that. It’s all or nothing with Hyunggu lol, if he chooses to give you his heart, you’ll get his soul too. (Side note this might also be what makes him sensitive and sulky lol)
Jupiter (optimism, luck, philosophy & just good vibes lol) - Aquarius To me, this placement is what makes him so agreeable like, he accepts everyone no matter what. He doesn’t care about gender, race, orientation, religion, anything like that. If someone piques his interest, nothing else matters to him other than getting to know them. He’s always ready to question authority, to break away from the norm and try new things. If he wants to do something, he’s gonna do it the way he wants to, not necessarily the way he’s been told to do it. He’s not afraid to be different, he likes to be a bit of a pioneer lmao. Mostly enjoys being with a lot of people, he loves having many different personalities to bounce off of, ig he got lucky being put in such a large group lol. But he still likes to have his freedom; or more so he wants everyone to have their freedom, so he can for sure be a bit of a philanthropist. Lowkey wants to change the world for the better lmao

id be interested to hear your thoughts on the ayame-shigure-hatori friendship. particularly what u think hatori actually feels about them (as opposed to what he outwardly displays, if u think theres a difference), but mostly about shigure and ayame and how they feel towards hatori. i never really understood why they would consider him such a friend (ayame specially) or act so tryhard around him (i get they do that prob to annoy him) but anyway, just interested cause u always have good thoughts
ahahahahahahahah you calling ayame and shigure tryhards in front of hatori is SO funny and you are right. but i think shigure does it to annoy hatori and ayame does it for real lol, shigure doesnt give af what hatori thinks of him
i think that their friendship really and truly revolves around being forced together by the curse; hatori holds real contempt for shigure and ayame and bristles in multiple instances when they are referred to as his best friends. but because they are in a situation so specific and complicated and the fact that they were all born the same year is the glue that holds them together, plus all the trauma bonding lol. in general for the three of them, but hatori especially since he is the most repressed and self-hating out of the three, there is something really valuable in knowing everything about one another and being able to talk freely.
acting like yourself and talking freely is the biggest thing for shigure—hatori is really the only person who knows everything about him, and shigure doesn’t mince his words around hatori, nor does he try to manipulate or influence him. he is unapologetically himself in front of hatori, showing him his good side as well as the worst parts of him, and knows that even if hatori does judge him, that he can’t judge him that hard since hatori knows that his own complacency is just as bad as shigure’s meddling. this goes both ways, too—hatori is extremely frank with shigure, and its at least partially because he has nothing to hide around shigure, and he doesn’t feel the need to save face/be The Responsible Adult like he is around akito or the teens. i think there is a lot of trust between shigure and hatori: that they will keep each other’s secrets, that they can and will call each other out on their behavior and that it won’t affect their friendship, that akito won’t come between them. hatori seems to resent being associated with shigure in particular, which i think has to do with hatori not finding shigure very respectable, but i don’t think he resents shigure himself, just the reputation that precedes him.
ayame and hatori is slightly more baffling to me. i understand why ayame looks up to hatori, since he’s everything ayame is not: he’s stoic, he’s conscientious, and he’s...well ayame says hatori is kind but i’m not sure it’s the first word i’d use to describe him lol. but from ayame’s point of view he aspires to be like hatori, which i think is reasonable especially when you consider how many mistakes ayame has made in the past of his own volition and how self-centered he is (which he is aware of). so ayame very much looks up to hatori in a very brotherly way. hatori, on the other hand....i don’t feel we have enough textual evidence for me to say anything more than it’s circumstantial. i wish we got to see more of these two because i’d be curious to know. my speculation about what hatori sees in ayame is that ayame is always himself all the time and i can see hatori valuing that quite a bit, since hatori is so reserved himself. i can see them complimenting one another in more causal social situations, or just the two of them together, since they are basically opposites and that can work out favorably. but i’m not sure hatori would have approached ayame if they weren’t bonded by the curse.

Are you doing that otp questions? If so, can you do SubScorp :eyes:
Like..........half of this is stuff i’ve more or less talked to with @noobsexbot
Also I’m sorry if this is slap dash and shoddy, it’s fuck o’clock in the morning for me fhdhshsd. It took me a minute to do this because I lost the meme questions and just plain forgot about it, RIP.
1) Who rocks the Ferris Wheel seat and who flips out and begs them to stop? Normally neither, but occasionally Hanzo is onery and likes Kuai’s grumpy face.
2) Who is always horny and will have sex at any time, at any place and at any time?  I would love to say both of them, but especially Hanzo, because I love horndog Hasashi.... however, I’d say they’re into experimenting and will occasionally do something rather adventurous, but in general will mostly fall asleep in each other’s bed, still wearing their day clothes.
3) Who is more into taking showers/baths together? Who tries to make it relaxing and who tries to make it sexy time? The both of them like the closeness of bathing together, be it a quick shower in the SF barracks or a long bath in the springs or wide pools of their respective temples. It varies who’s into taking it into another level, but generally, Hanzo gets friskier more often.
4) Who likes to walk around the house naked and who tells the other to go put some clothes on? That’s definitely Hanzo. Especially in his private rooms. The habit rubs off on Kuai, but even then, Kuai only relents to being mostly naked if he has Hanzo’s silk robe.
5) Who sleeps on the couch when they get into a fight? Neither. Hanzo broods and Kuai pretends to sleep or buries himself in reading, but they wont leave each other until they’ve at least reached somewhat of an understanding. Mostly, if they need time apart, then they’ll just say so without being petty and go and attend to chores and duties they’ve been putting off.
6) Who takes photos of the other while they sleep? Kuai. He likes Hanzo’s sleepy grumpy face.
7) Who said “I love you” first? and who ends their arguments in a fight with “Because I love you”? Ghghg, it’s kind of a tie? There was a lot of mincing their words and promising each other the moon and the stars before they even officially got together. Eventually, they just kinda wordlessly admit it. After the fact, Kuai definitely says I love you to break up a tiff before it escalates into a real argument tho.
8) Who likes to wear the others sweatshirts? Kuai. He loves wearing Hanzo’s colors and elaborately woven tops. He likes sleeping bundled up in Hanzo’s freshly washed shirts.
9) Who wakes the other up in the middle of the night to tell them a cool dream they had? Who has the most nightmares, and who sings them back to sleep after? Both. They speak a lot of dreams and bygone wishes and future hopes. They also both have unsettling dreams of their pasts. Kuai regrets his cruel childhood, Hanzo laments of all the ways he’s failed those closest to him. They dont sing, but they do speak of poetry or the way promising students are advancing in their classes.
10) Who is more likely to cheat at games (cards, board games, etc.)? Kuai. The Lin Kuei taught them how to count cards and beat the odds in most games of chance to better blend in should the occasion call for it. Hanzo hates how soft and pleasant Kuai’s poker face is.
11) Who makes fun of the other for having a crush on them, and who has to remind them that they are in a relationship? HHHHHH. Kuai is...........both. He's both so flustered and pleased he landed such a sweet fiance.
12) Who starts a food fight in the kitchen? Hanzo. Again, he likes Kuai’s grumpy face. Plus it’s a chance for some intimate clean up
13) Who initiates duets? and who is the better singer? Egh. Neither. I guess Hanzo can hold a better tune. Kuai can probably play simple instruments.
14) Who starts the hand holding? Who grabs the others butt? Who slides their arm around their waist? Who likes to put their fingers in the belt loops? So, Kuai is the hand holder. He just loves tangling their fingers together. He’ll pinch Hanzo’s ass tho, and cheeks, and biceps. Hanzo is more likely to grope Kuai tho. And will possessively wrap his arms around Kuai. The both do the belt loop thing.
15) Who likes writes the others name on their wrist? Kuai. Kuai would write his name on Hanzo’s palm, and Hanzo would reciprocate. Also, Kuai just likes doodling Hanzo’s name in various languages.
16) Who is more seductive when they are drunk? and who is louder in bed? Kuai. He’s a sloppy, slutty drunk if you can get him to drink that much. Very needy and cuddly. But, hes also loud in bed. Lost of shocked moans and gasps because he’s still not used to being touched without violence.
17) Who is more protective? Both of them, but Hanzo’s protectiveness is more, like, obvious.
18) Who talks to the other while they are sleeping? Kuai. He pets Hanzo’s hair and murmurs bits and pieces of his wandering thoughts aloud.
19) Who drives and who has the window seat? Well. Hanzo is more likely to teleport them both from place to place. Kuai’s favorite seat is inside Hanzo’s arms, I suppose.
20) Who falls asleep in the others lap and who carries them to bed? Kuai will dip off to sleep if he’s comfortable and over stressed. He’s trying so hard to be a good Grandmaster sometimes he over frazzles himself and he passes out mid paperwork review. Hanzo will cart him off to bed and wrap around him for a few hours.
21) Who cuts the others hair? Neither, tbh. They occasionally help each other trim up their beards tho.
22) Who is super bad at sexting? and who sends them encouraging messages throughout the day? Does erotic poetry count? because both of them. The poetry kinda doubles as motivational and frisky.
23) Who thinks they are not good enough for the others love? and who’s more afraid of loosing the other? Who thinks they keep messing up, only for the other to tell them they don’t need to worry? Both of them. They both need the occasional reassurance that theyre okay now, things arent as they once were.
24) Who starts random slow dancing with the other in the kitchen? Who holds the other just above the ground and kisses them? Slow dancing or just, moving in each other orbit’s is a thing both of them will initiate. Hanzo likes grabbing and manhandling Kuai, especially for kisses.
25) Who says shitty puns and sex jokes just to see the other giggle and blush? Kuai. His sense of humor is awful. mostly ice puns tho. Hanzo doesnt giggle or blush, just huffs and kisses Kuai’s self-satisfied grin away.
26) Who kissed first? Hanzo. They’d been teasing and dancing around each other for months. Finally, Hanzo took a chance and kissed away Kuai’s coy smile.
27) Who orders take out at two in a morning? and who wakes the other up at three in the morning to go downstairs with them to get a glass of water because it’s too dark? Kuai. He cant cook. Hanzo is.................reluctantly doting. Hfhfhf. It’s just who he is.
28) Who writes poems/stories and love songs about the other? Do they sing the songs the write for them? They both do the poetry thing. They have a game of quoting poetry back and forth for each other.
29) Who does some crazy stunt to try and impress the other and who ends up driving them to the emergency room after it backfires? Eh. It depends. They’re both idiots but neither one of them are into showboating all that much. I suppose Hanzo would do the stunt. Kuai would just cluck his tongue and ask if thats the example he wants to set for the students.
30) Who is embarrassed when they have to wear their glasses and who thinks they look super cute? Kuai wears reading glasses. He’s so adorable and doddering looking in them. Hanzo will immediately drag Kuai away for some frisky shenanigans.

Nei, I never said that Marc Jacobs and Louis Vuitton aren’t luxurious anymore. What I said was that their accessibility has made them less appealing. Take a look at Bottega Veneta, other bespoke goods, and less well-known European labels — they’re soaring ! Anyway, I don’t even know why we’re having this conversation. I mean, I always get all the new lines and collections delivered straight to my door, so I never really have to choose which ones to get.

born and raised in oslo, norway, nina is the daughter of kristoffer haugen, chairman and CEO of a multinational luxury goods conglomerate. as his only child, she is also the sole heir to the corporations (see bernard arnault)
her mother died when she was 12 in a car accident which nina survived. after that, her father became more distant and she was left in the care of nannies
the moment she finished high school, she had this plan to jump universities and countries for each year in college. she spent her freshman year in spain and her sophomore year in italy
she was initially supposed to study in london for her junior year, but after the string of lawsuits filed against her father and his company, he put his foot down and made her go to a lesser known place in the US to continue her education
until now, nina has no idea what the specifics are of the cases against her father. somehow, the media is also kept in the dark even though she knows the battles still aren’t over
Personality
she’s quick-witted and charming, but can be emotionally detached. she’s a thinker and doesn’t really let her heart lead. she may succumb to her whims from time to time, but even if it’s not that obvious, she’s actually thought it all through
she’s fun and is an adventurous party girl. she lives quite the lavish lifestyle and loves spontaneity. she’s friendly, but can also be intolerant and argumentative. quite a thick skin would be necessary, because she doesn’t always mince her words
she’s also advocacy-oriented and generous. even though she’s a business major, she takes after her mom and has a heart for the arts and humanities. there is an obvious disparity between her principles and her way of life, which she mostly manages to ignore but it’s harder now with her father’s situation and the fact that she’s in a less-elite environment
it may not be incredibly obvious, but nina can be really sweet and loyal. her love language is acts of service and once you’ve got her trust, she’s a ride or die type of gal
Possible Connections
Party Friends
these are buddies she goes out to drink or party with. maybe they like nina, maybe they secretly hate her guts. either way, whenever she throws a party, they’re bound to be there, and they’ll surely have good time
FWB
nina is pretty sex-positive, but she is particular. she doesnt demand exclusivity, but she limits the people she’s sleeping with and makes sure she knows who they’re sleeping with too for safety purposes. oh, and they have to be no younger than 20
The Donee
should nina find out about a character’s struggles, especially financially, she wouldn’t hesitate to provide aid however she can. need a place to crash for a month or two ? struggling with allowance ? nina’s got you
Rich Friends
if they’re part of the 1% too, chances are nina already knows them. the rich world is a small world, but it’s not exactly tight-knight. maybe they’re friends, maybe they’re exes, or maybe they hate each other. the possibilities are endless
( in about 24 hours, you can view nina’s full biography here, her personality here, stats here, and her connections here ! and pls feel free to hmu for plots or even if its just general q’s abt my child ! i’m down for whateva x )

so heres the long super paper mario post
strap in for why super paper mario is fucking bizarre and why that’s pretty much awesome
gonna be a good amounts of spoilers, so if you’re on desktop then hit that read more, and if your on mobile, then here’s your punishment for using this god awful app
super paper mario is a game that is incredibly difficult to put into words, but it leaves such a powerful, lasting impression on me and i can’t come to say anything first other than I love it so much, and if you havent played the game, please just go do it now, even if you have to pirate or emulate or something, just let yourself play this game. It’s one of those games that I really feel I can just recommend to anybody
it’s difficult to think of where to start with dissecting this thing so i’ll just start with the art since lookin at things is pretty easy
ART/WORLD DESIGN
every world in SPM is completely unique, not just in what type of environment, but it’s art style, and this is premised with the fact that none of these worlds are capable of existing together and are completely separate, and NOT part of a cohesive universe (LOOKIN AT YOU ODYSSEY I STILL THINK YOU LOOK STUPID)
The hub and the first 2 worlds are mostly just slight variants on the same general style of simplistic shapes and colors, with world 1 delving into more linework type aesthetics, and 2 focusing more on impressions and silhouettes,
world 3 changes this completely with what is obviously an 8 bit kind of style, but instead of jarring over sized pixels, the world is composed of detailed tiles arranged to look like pixel art that imply a more real world, and not a gamey one,
world 4 focuses on patterns and big patches of color to give the impression of the vast emptiness of both space and the surface of a barren planet, before giving you the “Whoa Zone”, with a striking mix of wire frame and futuristic UI style to it
world 5 takes the idea of nature being crude and simplistic and humanity being sharp, angular, and extreme and flips that on its head, with humanity and the space they occupy being these absolute memes with no sense of depth, and the plant life existing in a system of clean cut caves with futuristic technology and elegant historic values
world 6 simplifies a kind of colored Japanese painting aesthetic, down to the funny cylindrical cloud clusters and brushstroke trees
world 7 depicts what is essentially hell (yes there’s hell in this game keep your pants on) as a squarish blur of bright greens and warm reds and purples, and depicts heaven as fluffy land of clouds and Greek temples
and lastly, world 8 is inverted greyscale, where light is black and darkness is white, its simplistic and striking and i couldn’t think of a better style for the final area of a game so focused on the concept of light and dark
MUSIC
I’ll just try and keep it simple, the musics fucking cash money
The game makes great use of motifs when it needs to, where specific themes and instruments are used in other songs to suggest relationships and put battles and travels into perspective
And when it ISNT doing that, it’s just fucking funky stuff, with a weird trend of BOING and PLOP and SPLISH noises in the percussion because fuck you i guess
There’s a lot of good songs that do lots of interesting things, any of the like 5 final battle songs are great things to point to, but i’ll just go ahead and say the main theme of world 8 “Castle Bleck” is one of my favorites that isn’t super highly rated. It brings in the types of instruments that have been associated with the villain the entire game, but also throws in 2 very important things; a sudden triumphant burst of almost JRPG styled chiptune that pushes away the constantly building tension, which is then followed by the sound of a clock ticking, which is a musical motif only present in the songs “Memory” and “Promise” which is played whenever the memories of the player’s little guide thing and the main villain’s past lives together are alluded to. This one song holds a lot of weight, as well as simply being a fucking cool song.
GAMEPLAY
This is, sadly, the one place I’ll not mince any words and say the gameplay is not amazing by any standard, it’s pretty much a classic mario game if it had RPG stats, items, and random abilities granted through the character and partner systems. The 3D flipping mechanic is nothing astounding, though it is very interesting to see how worlds are constructed
One of the biggest flaws people will mark the game for in its gameplay is that it’s tedious, and while I have to agree, that’s because I’ve already played the game before, and the tedium only comes from not being completely invested in the experience anymore. I’ll get some specific examples in a bit, but there’s a few cases of “tedium” that i believe are 100% intentional and drive the story in an interesting way
STORY/WRITING/GAME DESIGN
Thats a fuckin broad section, but its pretty much everything else i have to say on the game, and where the most spoilers and random praise is gonna be
I’m not actually gonna talk about the whole story, more just the strong parts of it, under the assumption you’ve already played it or understand a story as simple as “villain wants to destroy world, hero wants that to not happen”
The writing and characters are just flawless, everyone is fun to be around, especially the bad guys, who you see more antics of than your own party. There’s goofy running plotlines about O’chunks and mimi essentially getting grounded and being forced to write essays about why they fucked up at beating mario, and big stinky brother dimentio teasting and bullying them and sneaking them out to do his bidding when The big Count Bleck is away
The game is full of referential humor to not just mario itself but all kinds of games, there’s skeletons in hell who are clearly just Marios from the mainline games who died in stupid ways, there’s an actual dragon quest turn based boss battle in hell too, and chapter 3 has an otaku villain who tried to get with peach in a simulated visual novel
but the humor exists not just in references, but in simple good scenarios, with things like “Having a game show in a bathroom when everyone's life is at stake” and “locating an ancient manuscript to use as toilet paper” or “flying through black holes to find a convenience store” and things of that nature
It also interacts with the players emotions in many interesting ways, one of the more lauded being chapter 2-3, where mario is forced into working off a massive debt of fictional money, and is required to do hard, boring labor. There isn’t anyway to avoid doing both the hitting a block 100 times and the running on a treadmill for a few minutes thing, but the constant feeling of “there has to be a faster way to do this” drives the player to prod around, find the secrets, and slowly discover how to break the system wide open and get to the end, and i love it for that
This entire game is some sort of bait and switch, to put it simply, while it’s already a bit of a departure from both mario itself and the paper series, the first 5 worlds are pretty fucking tame stuff, other than the void, which is a giant black and purple spot that sits in the sky, always, every single world has the void growing in its sky, and it does grow, every chapter it gets bigger and bigger and takes up the sky, but where this truly culminates into the “switch” part is chapter 6, which starts itself by presenting you with the most TEDIUS sounding chapter possible, fight 100 enemies in a row, and nothing else, and for 25 straight fights, that is all it is, so you’ve locked yourself into it at this point, you know whats up, but the void in the background begins to grow to the point of being the entire fucking background, and every enemy you face speaks as if they know they’re all going to die, and by the 30th fight, one of the villains comes to stall for time as the void completely swallows the world, and the party is sent back to the hub. When they decide to go back in to world 6, its empty, the entire world is a white void with a single black line making up the ground, and colorless destroyed structures occasionally peaking out of the ground.
and you walk on this white void for so long and you just feel nothing but regret and fear and no matter how fast you make yourself go you feel like you’ll never find anything, but you do eventually get your plot item and escape
then, Dimentio, one of the villains you’ve seen the least of, appears in the hub world, the safest place in the universe, and kills mario
he just fucking kills him
he puts mario in a box and fills the box with explosions and mario fucking dies and goes to hell because fuck you mario
then you go through all of chapter 7 just to escape hell (called the Underwhere cus how could we possibly be allowed to take hell seriously) and join up with your full party before confronting the final world, which i’ve already stated i just love the design off
the game just takes the comfortable ride you’re on and throws it into the fucking sun and burns you alive and i love it so much, even the very end of the game doesnt let up, where the main villain is overtaken by that absolute madman Dimentio (Whose name is a play on both Dimension and dementia), who clearly was powerful enough to have done the whole “ending of the world” himself, but did it this way for the theatrics of it
there’s a lot i could still say about the game, but this post is absolute rambling and its 2 in the morning but as usual, i just wanted to shit my thoughts onto the internet to people could maybe learn somethin about either the game or me and how i think and look at and respond to stuff, and as always, anybody who read this whole thing is cool and i love you a whole heck of a lot

Throwing Shade at Tron? Ethereum’s Buterin Describes Crypto Networks With High TPS As “Piles Of Trash”
Ethereum’s Vitalik Buterin is at it again, and this time, he’s throwing quite some shade. Speaking at a conference in January 2019, Buterin grabbed a chance to express his opinion about some other crypto networks when a member of the audience asked him about the transaction processing speed of Ethereum’s Casper CBC upgrade that’s still under development.
Just as he’s come to be known, Vitalik didn’t mince his words in expressing his definite description of those crypto networks that he deemed as trashy. In fact, he went as far as describing them as “centralized piles of trash.”
Higher TPS Doesn’t Necessarily Mean Secure
Going further, the Ethereum co-founder was adamant in arguing that in a real sense, having a crypto network with astonishingly high TPS doesn’t actually mean that the network is secure. With that, Buterin seems to front a valid point – some new crypto networks like Verge have been successfully attacked a few times. On the other hand, a relatively slow network like Bitcoin is yet to experience an attack.
What’s His Perspective?
In his argument, Vitalik said that the main point of creating decentralized networks is to make them safe and free from government meddling, adding that some crypto networks that have high TPS are in fact centralized in that they use localized nodes controlled by entities, making them vulnerable to control and that they can be shut down any time. Indeed, such a network would be considered centralized.
However, Vitalik was quick to point out that a secure crypto network like Bitcoin or Ethereum need not be so slow, adding that layer-1 and layer-2 technologies can be used to speed up the networks without compromising security. Such scaling solutions have been used to speed up networks, the most recent of which being Bitcoin’s Lightning Network.
Casper CBC
Casper CBC (Correct-By-Construction) is a new upcoming scaling solution planned for implementation by the Ethereum Foundation. The system works by continually expanding a protocol to achieve better latency without affecting its integrity or the security of the whole network.
The implementation of Casper is meant to steer the Ethereum network away from being majorly dependent on a proof-of-state consensus system that has been found to be overly wasteful in terms of power and developmental resources. As such, the Casper CBC system is expected to also boost Ethereum’s TPS.

Harry Styles: Harry Styles review ticking every box on the Take Me Seriously checklist
This post-One Direction debut is a melange of musical homages that fails to reach the heights of Styles idols. But one thing it isnt is dull
Whatever else you may have made of them, you could never accuse One Direction of not following the script. Over the course of their career, they did everything boybands are supposed to do sell millions of records, tire of being objects of pre-pubescent desire, ride out tabloid scandal when blurry photos appear of one or more members smoking a joint, insist they will continue when a loose cannon member announces his departure, then split up a year later. Now, the bands former members find themselves doing the things former members of boybands always do: releasing pop R&B with arty inclinations, dabbling in dance music, or attempting to reinvent themselves as earnest acoustic singer-songwriters.
Harry Styles may have chosen the trickiest path of all. His debut album, Harry Styles, ticks every box on the Take Me Seriously checklist. Team of triple-tested songwriting help assembled, including platinum-plated hitmaker and former alt-rock artist? Tick: the credits include Uptown Funk co-author Jeff Bhasker and one-time indie singer-songwriter turned Florence + the Machine collaborator Tom Kid Harpoon Hull. Longest and ostensibly least commercial track released as debut single-cum-warning shot? Tick: the doleful six-minute-long ballad Sign of the Times. Songs that knowingly reference classic rock, including early-70s Elton John (Woman), the Beatles Blackbird (Sweet), U2 circa The Joshua Tree (Ever Since New York) and the Rolling Stones circa Sticky Fingers (Only Angel)? Tick. Slightly self-conscious stabs at sonic experimentation? Tick, not least a rhythm track punctuated by what sounds like one of those tin toys that moos like a cow when you turn it over being repeatedly inverted. Lyrics that attempt to address topics more grownup than dancing all night to the best song ever? Tick, up to and including the closing From the Dining Table, a bit of fingerpicked folk that opens with the diverting image of Harry Styles assuaging his loneliness by and in the forthright spirit of the song itself, let us not mince words having a wank.
In America at least, this series of manoeuvres already appears to have borne fruit. Styles is on the cover of Rolling Stone, the recipient of an extremely serious profile by Cameron Crowe, august music journalist, film director and, it would appear, stranger to the concept of Laying It On A Bit Thick: over the course of 6,000 words, he variously compares Styless voice to that of Rod Stewart in his prime, his backing band to the Help!-era Beatles, and the studio in Jamaica where much of the album was cut to Big Pink, the Woodstock house where Bob Dylan and the Band changed the course of rock music in 1967.
Without wishing to pooh-pooh the writer-director of Almost Famous and Jerry Maguires musical judgment, anyone who buys Harry Styless solo debut in the belief that its going to sound like a cross between Every Picture Tells a Story, Help! and The Basement Tapes may find themselves slightly disappointed. That in itself doesnt mean that its a bad album, merely that some people should calm down a bit in their efforts to convince the public that its all right to listen to music made by a one-time manufactured pop idol.
The debut largely avoids the biggest pitfall awaiting the boyband member keen to shed his old image, the belief that maturity is somehow signified by making music exclusively in shades of beige: only the dreary Two Ghosts sounds as if it was tailor-made to fit in between the factoids on Steve Wrights afternoon show. Styles is remarkably good as a confessional singer-songwriter, notwithstanding the sneaking feeling that spending his entire adult life as a member of a hugely successful boyband hasnt left him with a great deal to confess, beyond the fact that being trapped in hotel rooms is boring and having it off with an inexhaustible supply of attractive and occasionally famous ladies isnt quite as efficacious a cure for existential ennui as one might have hoped. Theres an affecting tenderness and emotional punch about the Nilsson-ish Sign of the Times and if you can get past the opening image of him, as he puts it, playing with myself From the Dining Table.
Not all the albums musical homages work: Styles is desperately ill-equipped for the rocknroll raunch of Only Angel and the glammy Kiwi. Alas, his voice sounds no more like Rod Stewart than it does Rod Hull, while the lyrics are a torrent of hoary pub-band cliches that suggest his heart isnt really in it: with a certain inevitability, the titular heroine of Only Angel turns out to be wait for it a devil in between the sheets. Others, however, are really enjoyable: Carolina sets a guitar part borrowed from Stealers Wheels Stuck in the Middle With You against a wall-eyed, Beck-like vocal and seasick strings; Woman, meanwhile, melds its Bennie and the Jets piano and Crocodile Rock backing vocals to a gauzy, echo-drenched, faintly psychedelic sound filled with retorts of fretless bass to brilliant effect.
You hear the latter sound again, stripped of its Elton references, on Meet Me in the Hallway, which may be the best thing here. For one thing, on an album that understandably finds him trying on a variety of musical costumes, with varying degrees of success, its the one that best suits his voice. For another, it doesnt sound obviously indebted to anything else. More of that next time and he might genuinely do what he clearly wants to do, and carve out a musical niche of his own in a post-One Direction world.
