(1/2) Hey I know you posted the post (about Monoma’s jab at Bakugou making no sense) a while ago now, but I wanted to bring up an alternative line of reasoning. Monoma knows two things: 1. All Might went down during the mission to save Bakugo and 2. Bakugo really wants to be a hero, enough that he made it into UA. And what wannabe-hero DOESN’T like All Might? Monoma may have surmised that Bakugo would feel sth negative about it just by knowing that Bakugo likely looks up to All Might.

(2/2) Monoma also has a problem with Bakugo (linkspooky wrote a couple amazing posts about the parallels between them). It wouldn’t be a stretch to think that Monoma would try killing 2 birds with one stone: get Deku to respond to him AND potentially hit Bakugo where it hurts. Not to mention he likely doesn’t have any other recent ammunition about Deku’s classmates. In conclusion, maybe he just made a educated jab about the guy from class A he hates and happened to hit the nail on the head.

(4/2) also I don’t mean to rail on you or anything but, re: your other post about Monoma’s costume being impractical—maybe his quirk only activates when his hands make contact with another person? I have to check if it’s been this case with a couple of instances (e.g. Tsuburaba if that was shown) but it could be that something got lost in translation, Horikoshi-sensei didn’t clarify enough or other human errors, etc.

Hi! Let me preface this by saying I am, so, fucking tired right now so if this post ends up sounding strange its because im slbebby. Also long post ahead.

Secondly, thank you for being so polite! But I have to say I disagree with you, at least slightly. (And I’ve already read the linkspooky post and it perfectly worded something I had been tossing around for a while, and it was awesome)

So, as to Monoma’s insult towards Bakugo— I still stand by it not being sensible. Monoma’s overall view of the world, as we’ve seen in recent chapters, is sort of meta– he sees everyone as part of a story, or, actors on a stage.

I just don’t think the same guy who saw Bakugou do One Pretty Okay Thing and Freaked Out because “HE CHANGED HIS CHARACTER?!” would be able to pinpoint the same thing that made him hurt! Especially with the exact wording Bakugou used. It’s…a little too convenient. That exact wording? The “Fall of All Might”? it’s too meta. Monoma wouldn’t have known Bakugou felt that exact emotion, and it’s not like Monoma has, as the viewer has, seen the way All Might acts around his Class A Favorites (Midoriya and Bakugou).

Here’s what Monoma knows vis a vis Bakugou

1) Asshole.

2) Sludge Villain victim

3) Sports Fest Winner, that whole being chained up shit (that was fucked up)

4) Considers everyone else extras

5) Failed Provisional License Exam Try One

6) Got Kidnapped at Kamino Ward

7) Attacked at USJ

8) Asshole.

9) Makes Friends Apparently ????

Now, I know you’re likely going to point out the time when Monoma uses the Sludge incident and USJ against Bakugou, which of course, is a fair point. He CLEARLY isn’t above poking at incredibly sore subjects (re:Monoma struggles to empathize with people cough cough) because he thinks the Ends (victory for his group) justifies the Means(being a nasty little man)

And in fact, Monoma using the kidnapping against Bakugou wouldn’t be surprising, had it been executed better. When Monoma mentions these two topics, he’s essentially saying Bakugou is just trying to keep all that attention to himself. So, if he were to poke at the Kamino Ward incident, wouldn’t it make more sense for him to say something like, perhaps,

“How can someone like him still try so hard to hog the spotlight, even after all that’s happened?” It encompasses multiple events, but it shows that Monoma only really knows what was on the news, because that IS all he would know. The “Fall of All Might” Is too specific of a phrase, in my personal opinion. Especially since we heard that exact wording from Bakugou wayyy earlier.

So, if I were to rewrite it, keeping all this in mind, what I think would fit better would be Monoma jabbing at the sore subject (although i still dont see him targeting bkg directly as a strategy he came up with, and rather something Shinsou did, because everything Monoma has done before either targeted the Exact Person He Was Speaking To (and even then, it rarely touched above Petty and Rude), or was some sort of back-handed self-roast in an attempt to make Class A look bad. Shinsou would be the one who’d have that little ‘psst. midoriya…he stans his classmates’, but for the sake of the argument, lets say he still does want to target bakugou in particular. Even though he’s entirely irrelevant to the battle and therefore isnt worth monomas (a person who relies on strategy almost entirely) attention) but in the vague way i mentioned above,before cutting to bakugou thinking about kamino ward and getting that little rise of guilt again. That way it doesnt feel as forced, in my opinion.

If I could pick something else entirely to be poked at, I’d have monoma poke at midoriya’s poor control over his quirk, to be honest. He was there at the sports fest when midoriya went balls to the wall shatter every bone in his body mode, and im sure hes aware of all the dangers that brings both midoriya and his teammates. PLUS, having that followed by the ofa going shit to fuck event would feel more cohesive, as a whole.

NOW ONTO HIS QUIRK,

I have quite a few hcs about how it works (please ask), but all it says is he needs to make physical contact. So, we’re up in the air on that one. But, we know he can get it from touching hair (kirishima), so I think it’s really just anywhere he can get some DNA. Maybe it’s only at it’s most capable if he uses his hands? I have theories, but we really dont have….solid proof either way I Think. He very well could have snatched tsubarabas quirk with his hand off screen.

Also, I did make a monoma redesign and kept the long sleeves, but made it so he could zip off the elbows or shoulders, allowing him to show more skin as needed. I think that’s a nice compromise?

Seriously trying to debate with myself whether or not I should put money towards doing a proper APH England cosplay this year, lmk what your thoughts are!

So phew!!! It’s been donkeys since I ever actually wrote a review but I have the time this weekend to sit down and get it done so here we goooooo~! I hope you’ve all being doing amazingly well and I’m so sorry as of late that I havent been able to sit down properly and read through all my messages theres just a whole bunch of drama going on in personal life that is draaaaaaaining me and taking up a lot of my concentration but I’ll try and get back to people this weekend! Honestly I’m just so happy pinky paradise have stuck by me for so long, I know I’ve been moving between country to country and having work really frequently lately so I’m just really unbelievably grateful to the website for putting up with my bs. I’ve actually been meaning to get a new pair of green contacts for a wee while now as I have been tossing up whether or not to try and pull together a proper aph england cosplay (as mentioned above) for animaga this year for such a long time (and ofc melanie would be my ever so perfect america ;u; ) But!!! Depending on what y’all think depends on if I go through with it or not, your opinion really does matter to me. Anyways before I keep rambling on, PP kindly contacted me about reviewing a pair of their newly released ‘twilight reborn’ lenses, and I actually do own a pair of the original twilight lenses that I used for my Viktor cosplay from their website. After having such a good experience with the original releases, it was really quite exciting to be able to try out their new range of twilight lenses! The pigmentation in these are to absolutely die for so I’m just really, really pumped to put these out there more for those looking for intense pigmentation esp if you have darker eyes like myself.

So as usual I received these lenses in a bubble wrap lined packet and the shipping took around 2 weeks to get to Melbourne from Germany! The lining provides plenty of protection for the contents of the packet, and from the website I was sent a super cute pink animal case, a free gift (that i always love getting from them like gosh those hair grippy things r life savers when im doing my makeup i swear) and the lenses themselves! They were wrapped up securely in foam in order to protect the glass vials in which the lenses are contained within.

Firstly I’ll talk about the case. Now a little known fact about me is that I actually adore the colour pink.... but ya girl isnt too good at pulling it off so she tends not to wear it however!!! plenty of my accessories and such most definitely are pink/in the pastel realm and to have this cute wee case to join my minimal collection of guilty pleasures sure is wonderful. The screw cap lid prevents the risk of leakage of contact solution and due to this case being made of plastic, the security of such is further heightened which means your lenses will not lose all of that solution that they swim around in; thusly causing them to dry out and break ): (It’s happened to me 0/10 a very heartbreaking experience) I also will forever be in love with the fact these cases have a L or R in each of the compartments which means if you require prescription lenses; you wont mix up which lens is crafted with which strength. (Hi yes Im supposed to wear glasses but refuse to + my glasses are in germany smd)

Here we have the cases with their super cute designs and clear labelling of what brand the Twilight Reborn series belongs to; that being ‘Princess Pinky’. On the lids the strength of each lens is clearly printed as to make it worlds easier for you to figure out what lens is for which eye (much like the functional detail in the animal cases!!) Both lenses came with plenty of solution contained within their vials and I don’t know how clearly i demonstrated removing the lids but there are little arrows where you’re supposed to pull up etc in order to get them off. The trickiness of the caps is vital for keeping these gorgeous babies from escaping their confines.

So here as you can see are what the contacts looked like while still contained within the vials as well as how they look swimming around in fresh solution in their new home; the pink piggy case! Honestly there are not enough words to explain how much I adore the twilight series, both the original and the reborn, and that’s mainly because of the intensity of colour that they provide on any eye colour as well as the intelligent way in which these lenses incorporate so many different tones within their design. The various colours have an almost ombre effect as they fade from a darker green outer perimeter and lighten to really pretty yellows (which works perfectly with my weird ass eye colour) as the colour moves towards the pupil!

How they look in (excuse the finger u can see i just hate seeing my nose up close when im taking photos):

Overall I give these a 10/10 I love love love the difference you can see between my actual eye colour and the lenses themselves and how they even manage to bring out some of the green tones in my natural eye colour in the process. I 110% recommend looking into this brand and these specific lenses if you’re looking for comfort, quality, vibrancy and a really intelligent, complex design that manages to achieve a gorgeous surreal touch to any cosplay or casual outfit! Personally I’m going to likely buy myself another pair at some point and I hope you guys get tempted by these too because of my lawd these are just fantastic. Regardless, thanks so much if you actually read this! I love you al so much please take care, stay safe and know you all have my support xxx <3
