Helluva Boss Agere Headcanons!

A/N: This is only part one, and for this part I’m just doing my favorite characters. But I’ll do more characters in separate parts!

Characters: Blitzø, Moxxie, STRIKER!!! (MY FAV 💗💗💗)

BLITZØ-

Flip, with a little lean!! He’s mostly an age regressor, he needs some way to let out all that trauma and stress. His little ages are about 4-6.

He is VERY chaotic when he’s regressed, like even more so than usual. He’ll run around the IMP HQ, jumping on furniture, leaving his toys everywhere, etc.

Moxxie and Millie are his main caregivers, actually! He loves Stolas, even though he’d never admit it, but he doesn’t trust him enough at the moment to tell him something that vulnerable about himself.

When he’s a caregiver, he’s not really a suitable dad caregiver. He’s more like a silly, chaotic older brother or the uncle that’s fresh out of jail.

He likes to spoil littles, he thinks it’s cute when their faces light up and they start giggling.

Thinks it’s super funny to help littles prank their caregivers. He does this even when he himself is regressed too.

Like. Imagine Little!Blitzø hanging out with Moxxie’s and Millie’s little or something. That would be so chaotic pls.

He LOVES coloring, and he hangs his own drawings up himself. He draws horses a lot. He also gives some of the stuff he draws to his friends and caregivers.

MOXXIE-

Controversial opinion, but flip with a cg lean!! He’s responsible enough to be a caregiver, and he wants kids himself one day so this is good practice he thinks. He does regress sometimes in order to relieve some stress.

He does well with littles of all ages, but he finds that baby regressors are surprisingly the easiest! They aren’t hyper and chaotic like a lot of toddler or kid regressors. He just has to feed them, give them attention, make sure their hygiene is good, etc and it’s fine!

He’ll play his guitar and sing little songs! Maybe while Millie dances around and helps tell stories or sings with him or something.

Him and Millie do everything together, which includes taking care of a little, so if you ask Moxxie to be your caregiver, that’s going to include Millie as well.

He’s actually one of the best people to play pretend with, surprisingly enough. Like it takes him a while to get used to it and he’s not too good at making stuff up on the spot, but when he gets into it, he gets INTO IT.

When he’s little, he also still likes to sing and play his guitar.

He reads kids books a lot or those small little science books for kids.

Or books about history for kids.

He is a nerd. And I love that. Me too, Moxxie.

His caregiver is Millie, of course. And he CLINGS to her when he’s regressed, like hardcore clings. Will not let go of her and has to be at least holding her hand at all times.

STRIKER-

Okay I have a feeling this one is gonna be long. He’s my absolute favorite and I love him so so so so so so so so so so much.

I may or may not have the fattest crush on him.

ANYWAYS

Caregiver! He had absolutely no clue what age regression was before you told him about it, and it took him a while for him to warm up to the idea.

Like it took him a fat minute for him to fully process what it is.

He feels bad when he realizes you do it because of trauma, though.

Like…you had a bad childhood??? You were abused??? Do you want him to like…kill your parents for you…?

Cuz he will. You know he will.

You’re like the only person he feels any amount of sympathy for. It may take him awhile to get used to it, but when he does…MAN.

This guy is clingy and overprotective. If he notices you’re slipping at any time throughout the day, you’re immediately being carried or you have to hold his hand TIGHT for the rest of the day. He knows you’re vulnerable, and he knows it’s very dangerous in hell; obviously, it’s hell. And he wants to keep an eye on you at all times.

The first time you called him “dada”, he blushed. Not because of anything weird but because. Wow. You trust him and love him like that? Like…you care about him and see him as your protector? …Woah.

It takes him a bit to get used to parental nicknames, but he likes it nonetheless!

Does pretty much the same with any type of regressors, but because I’m projecting, I’m gonna say he likes the dependency of baby regressors.

He likes being leaned on and trusted and relied on. And when you’re regressed so deep like that, you need help with a lot of things, and he’ll do them for you.

Feels bad because he can’t be around a lot. He’s got an important and demanding job that he’s absolutely not letting a little baby like you witness.

•monika is a very caring and maybe sightly overprotective caregiver!! she’s so happy to be your caregiver. i think she really enjoys feeling like she can look after you and keep you safe from everything <3

•treats you really small,, she’s the kind of caregiver to say, “you’re far too small to be doing something like that by yourself!” she really likes helping you out when you’re small, even if it’s just as simple as fixing a loose strand of hair or something like cooking a meal for you.

•her favorite pet names for you are baby, sweetheart, honey and little one! i think she would find it super adorable if you called her mama or moni or anything like that <3

•very very involved with you! if you’re coloring on the floor, she’ll go over next to you and start coloring her own picture! or if you’re building a pillow fort, she will help gather pillows and blankets and figure out how to position the chairs!

•monika can be a slightly strict caregiver, but only for your health!! if you look sleepy, she’ll insist on a nap (she’ll snuggle you though!!). she always makes sure that you’re eating three sufficient meals and that you have had at least some water. she doesn’t want to seem like she’s nagging! but your health is important to her.

•plays the piano for you!! she’ll play lullabies to lull you to sleep or pretty songs that make you smile. sometimes, she’ll let you sit next to her/on her lap and play something of your own. even if you’re just pressing keys or making your own melodies, she loves seeing you partake in an activity she loves!

•monika would also softly sing you songs. she loves humming a bunch of tunes for you, especially ones like “you are my sunshine” or the opening song of your favorite cartoon!

•i think she would read you a lot of poetry. she would especially read you love poems, so you know just how much she loves you! sometimes she even reads you some of her own c:

•very comforting when you’re upset. she’d wrap you into the warmest hugs, gently hushing you and promising everything would be okay. says things likes, “tell mama what’s wrong, baby” or “i’ve got you, shhh”

•loves baking with you! she would make cookies any time you asked and try to find unique recipes for things you guys could bake <3 like making your own caramel apples, or decorating your own cake!

•i imagine she’s slightly overprotective. she’ll readily glare at anyone who gives you a weird stare and trust that whoever tries to bother you won’t try it again. she has her ways, hehe...

•monika is a very sweet caregiver. she may seem a little overbearing, but she promises she just wants to make your regression as secure and happy for you as she can. she loves you so very much!

even though I do not mind the weekly or bi weekly chapter releases and enjoy them, I kind of wish I would wake up one day and the final chapter of jjk would be here lol

I mean this as like the time left with the series is fast forwarded. I don't like rushing in any context, but I feel like I want to know the ending before I fall out of love with the series. I've enjoyed what gege has given in the story so far, but there is plenty of choices I would say I do not agree with imo. He seems like he has a vision of how things need to go, but getting there seems to have some issues. I also kind of hate it when authors say they want to end the story especially when it feels like it will be rushed, and is JJK's case it's sometimes hard to enjoy the story after its been said bc I'm just wondering if we're spending too much time on one thing before we need to move to the next point, but I'll still try to see the story's good and the bad and enjoy what I can. I'm going to reread the culling game arc soon, but I feel like those first fights were about gaining allies, but I can say I wasn't expecting it to go like that if that was the intention. I don't mind kenjaku having secret plans bc it's obvious when it comes to them, but I feel as though that plan overshadowed the point of the cg?? I thought there would be more focus of to kill or not, etc and I see that the most for megumi and yuji (they had my fav colony battles), and I get it somewhat with yuta, but I dont see it too importantly with hakari or maki. I'm going to reread the arc regardless because I can always be confused or a bit slower in catching on so forgive me if my insight is lackluster. I liked the running themes during yuki vs kenjaku, but her "death" felt very unnecessary because she seemed really important in achieving a curse free world and idk about you but that seems like an important goal imo and yeah someone else could lead that charge but what was wrong with yuki doing that? I don't know, but I can only hope the remaining part of the story alongside its ending is something not only we can gain some satisfaction with, but the author too can look back and say, "hey it was pretty good at least"

Gege doesn't seem to drop the ball too much with Yuji or at least megumi too, and I'm not too worried since they're my characters of interest currently, but I want to reread this story and actually believe it when I say I thought all the cast was good and I believe the writing can be better or can get worse (idk) but time will tell it all. HOLA! Thanks for being my recurring anon and reaching out again!

Ok but listen... I’ve been sitting on your ask for a while thinking of what I wanted to say and how to say it. I’ve probably started 3 different drafts for my response. So thanks for your patience!

Truth of the matter is that when I read your words, what it comes down to is that, even though you don’t like the recent direction the manga has taken, Jujutsu Kaisen still holds an important place in your heart. 

So I think the most important question to keep in mind is that, in a story like JJK where the strongest sorcerers have the most overwhelming sense of self... where does your sense of self stand in all of this?

What do you want to take with you from JJK? 

The stuff you didn’t like because it didn’t live up to your expectations? 

Or the stuff you loved even though JJK was incredibly flawed?

Of course there’s more word vomit under the cut lol... you know how I roll.

I’ll start by asking you to forgive me if I’m wrong and you just really needed a container where your thoughts on the current state of JJK would be honored and acknowledged. The truth is that I totally get where you’re coming from. 

I do. 

I hear you.

It’s just that it’s in my perhaps annoying nature to be stupidly optimistic even when I am being a realist. There’s always a silver lining to everything if you are willing to make the effort to find it. 

So, yes, I agree, and I’m also going to challenge you to find a way to continue loving JJK if that’s what you want for yourself.

That said... lets get on with the bitching lol.

Problems with JJK, problems everywhere!

Your concern regarding the pacing in the story is something that I share with you. Most especially the concern that, moving forward, Gege is going to cut corners. I’d also say that at this point this “concern” is factually canon lol. 

I also agree so much with the sentiment of “is he taking too much time on this when he should be addressing this other plot point?” And I think nothing captures that dilemma quite like the Culling Game arc does--ESPECIALLY with the way he handled the chosoyuki ordeal.

Like we got pages upon pages of all of these characters and exposition and dialogue and like... wait, what was the point of the Culling Game again? 

Why has no one died yet?! 

Why is Yuta kissing a cockroach and why are Kashi-chan and Kin-chan trying to see who has the biggest ego (pun intended)? 

Like I swear for weeks I've been like “ok it’s going down!!!! yeah here comes the angst and the deaths aaaaaaand ok never mind then.... maybe next chapter? ok.... next chapter? ok next chapter for sure. no? next chapter?”

FOR WEEKS! It’s all recorded in my chapter liveblogs lol.

Truth is, to me, the Culling Game is a weird arc because I am still trying to understand its significance within the larger Jujutsu scheme of things.

Perhaps he bit more than he could chew with the Culling Game? And as a writer myself I find this kind of relatable. I’m actually seeing what is happening with JJK and taking note of how having too many themes and plot lines can ultimately be detrimental to a story if you can’t, or are unable to execute them all to a satisfying conclusion.

So to your point about re-reading the Culling Game arc... let’s hope that Gege manages to bring it all full circle. But as things stand right now, we’re in the middle of whatever Gege has in mind so it’s hard to see the forest for the trees.

What I’ll say is that I have enjoyed parts of it with reckless abandon...

Literal picture of me reading through the absolutely ridiculous battle between Kashi-chan and Kin-chan:

I also think that, at best, we have gotten in-depth character studies (because Gege is harping on the idea about the sense of self being at the core of power in JJK) and needed exposition. 

For example, even though Naoya coming back was soooooo cringe to me, I can still see the purpose it served in the narrative. Did I enjoy the journey? Not really. Same for Maki’s development.

The thing is that even if I agree with you on everything I just mentioned... I can’t unsee the story written between the lines even if the execution of the panels falls short, because I am always reading at a meta level.

I am passionate about story telling and how stories move humans, so to me, now that I’ve seen and acknowledge these flaws in the work, reading JJK is less about what’s on the panels, and more about the story he is trying to tell on a meta level through the panels.

My chosoyuki meta is a great example of me recognizing the story being told between the lines. And once I went down all of the rabbit holes I went down, even though I agree wholeheartedly that the execution fell short, the story told in the symbols was amazing to me. It honestly made me wish that Gege would have had the patience, time, energy, and space to birth that side story into the world the way it deserved to be told.

To me, I want Gege to be able to ground his vision onto the page, but if he is not able to, I’m still there for the “story” told between the lines because there’s so few mangaka whose imagination has captivated me.

In the end, as you say, it does feel like Gege is struggling to ground his vision into the page. And it kind of does suck because we, as an audience, have to work that much harder to understand the story he is trying to tell.

But the story being told is still there... so now it’s up to you to decide what you want to focus on: the flop, the bad execution, the failed attempt, JJK not living up to your expectations, or Gege, the flawed human behind the manga, trying and showing up.

What is good enough for you? That’s something for you to decide. 

I’m not saying to ignore the execution. 

I’m saying to remember that this is Gege’s first manga and that JJK is not what it started as--but not because it’s gotten worse, but rather because JJK is now more like Gege than it has ever been... because in a story like JJK where the strongest sorcerers have the strongest sense of self... yadda yadda yadda.

Trust the process: life is a journey, not a destination

I think your concern that you want to experience the ending makes a lot of sense and feels very relatable even at this point in my life. 

But the truth is... 

Foregoing the journey in favor of the destination is a recipe for perpetual dissatisfaction. Look at what happened to Denji after he finally got to touch boobs!

Ok yeah, there’s a lot more to it than that in this particular case but the concept still applies.

It also applies to JJK. Again, right now we can’t see the forest for the trees because Gege is executing a complex arc.

The timeline is confusing af, and I think it’s because he may be trying to pull a similar literary trick to what happened in Westworld’s season 1 and 2 where the timeline is scrambled out of order to purposely confuse and mislead the audience. 

Perhaps the timeline is out of order for another grand purpose. Perhaps he just thought it would be fun and wanted to try to execute a fun literary trick.

But we won’t know until he delivers--and delivering is a process, not a destination.

And you know what... if you still get to the end and realize that you didn’t like JJK and the latter part of the story ruined your love for JJK, well...

It’s personal

Dude like... I respect that people LOVE Chainsaw Man, and I also think Chainsaw Man is ridiculously overhyped. I’ve seen countless of videos with people hyping it as the all end be all of manga and that Fujimoto is a genius and...

I. 

just. 

don’t. 

get. 

it.

I am just not a fan of Fujimoto’s brand of navel-gazing existentialism. It feels so anti-climatic to me.

Does that mean that CSM objectively sucks and is bad?! No. It’s personal.

Similarly, I overhype the hell out of CLAMP manga, and I am also aware that people might read CLAMP manga and not like it. 

Even so, to me, the four women behind CLAMP are genius story-tellers.

Shameless Subaru and CLAMP plug because this is one of my favorite Tokyo Babylon panels.

It comes back to personal taste, right?

For me, I love JJK despite the flaws because I still love the story being told between the lines, I find Gege’s brand of ironic humor funny, and I like how the story has progressed. 

Say goodbye to mainstream, Gege’s work might become a cult classic moving forward

Now... I bring up Fujimoto and CLAMP to illustrate the idea that there are people who are going to be dedicated fans of a mangaka and their work, people who enjoy and appreciate their work but don’t necessarily love it,  people who are in it for the hype, and people who don’t like their work.

CLAMP’s Cardcaptor Sakura is mainstream hype. Tokyo Babylon and Clover are what you read when you’re a hardcore fan.

Fujimoto’s CSM is mainstream hype. Fire dude punch something something and Goodbye Eri is what you read when you’re a hardcore fan. 

Watanabe’s Cowboy Bebop is mainstream hype. Zankyou no Terror and Carole and Tuesday are what you watch when you’re a hardcore fan.

Akutami’s Jujutsu Kaisen is mainstream hype. 

Gege followed the Battle Shonen recipe, added his own twists, and created an accidental mega hit. In fact, oddly enough, JJK has always been known as a story that defies expectations and uses tropes in new and unexpected ways.

So what happened? Why are people not liking Gege’s current execution?

To me, there’s something about how JJK is written that has changed, and it has nothing to do with Gege’s ability to write, and everything to do with his sense of self, who he has become in the process of writing JJK, and what he wants to express through his work.

In other words, JJK is more like Gege than it has ever been. Some people are going to like that, and some are not. 

Truth is that Gege is one of the VERY few mangaka who can write beautiful, multidimensional, engaging and extremely human characters who are true to their nature and aspirations.

He also writes on a very meta level and you don’t see that very often... like at all. 

All this to say that I think this is why you see such vastly different reactions in fandom right now. 

Some people still think he’s a fantastic writer and that he’s writing a unique work that has transcended generic Shonen tropes (like yours truly), and some people think that the way JJK is right now is generic Shonen. I don’t understand this last take but...

Who is right?

Who holds THE ultimate truth?

It doesn’t really matter because it’s personal.

All I know is that I am going to keep up with anything Gege publishes moving forward because I like the story he is telling through JJK.

Above all, I’m curious to see what other stories want to be born through him into this world.

Now, I HIGHLY recommend you listen to this 20 minute Ted talk by Elizabeth Gilbert to understand what I mean when I say that Gege is giving birth to stories. Her talk is a mind-opening take on what happens to your sense of self when you accidentally write a mega hit, and how that in turn affects your creative process.

I don’t know that this is how Gege sees his work as a mangaka, but I have to wonder about the possibility that Gege, someone who has very clearly studied the psychology of Carl Jung, sees JJK as an exercise in creative imagination, and/or as a story he’s been handed from the collective unconscious.

His job as a mangaka is to show up and write, to play, to express himself creatively.

That means that sometimes what he writes is going to be magnificent in the eyes of others, and sometimes it’s going to fall short of everybody’s expectations.

And that’s what it comes down to... 

Expectations

I see a lot of people complain about JJK failing to live up to their expectations without acknowledging that their expectations are simply that, expectations.

There’s nothing wrong with having expectations per se, and it is also important to realize when expectations are defining what we think is and isn’t good enough. 

And let’s not forget that you too probably don’t live up to other’s expectations. Does that mean that your effort too isn’t good enough? Gosh now I sound like Lacus.

Again... who holds the ultimate truth?

In the end, Gege is the one telling the Jujutsu Kaisen story. 

I also cannot emphasize enough that Gege is also a mangaka in the very early stages of his writing career. 

I don’t buy that his writing was better in the beginning of JJK. 

Quite the opposite, I see his writing AND art in the beginning of JJK as having followed a recipe: the three man team, found family, the strong mentor figure, etc... all the tropes are there executed in fresh and unexpected ways. 

But that was 5 years ago. Again... in a story like JJK where the strongest sorcerers have the strongest sense of self... what does that mean for Gege?

That said, Gege isn’t following the same recipe anymore, he’s coming up with his own recipe and he’s learning how to write his own recipe.

This is not to make excuses for him, it’s just something to think about because most people aren’t born naturally talented at anything that requires mastery, and writing is a craft that requires mastery through execution. 

As a quick side note, if you read Tokyo Babylon and Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle by CLAMP, the 10+ year gap between both manga shows a marked improvement in the writing. AND EVEN THEN CLAMP MANAGED TO FUCK UP THE TSUBASA PLOT!

In other words, Gege has to fail to get better. 

Now add to that the pressure of a weekly publishing schedule that dampens the creative process with tight deadlines, and then on top of that having to draw the whole thing. I’m exhausted just thinking about it.

Gosh, if I had to guess, I would have to say Gege is ready for an extended vacation. 

But, as you say, I also just want for him to be satisfied with his story. 

As for us being satisfied with his story... well, it depends on what we choose to focus on.

Will you focus on how he failed at executing his vision?

Will you focus on the beautiful story he told between the lines?

Or will you focus on how how he managed to tell a beautiful story despite failing at the execution?

Can you hold the tension of opposites?

Ok SO SORRY this took me so long to get back to you my dear recurring anon. I just had so many thoughts because, like I said before, I agree with you, and I also wanted to challenge you to see things a little differently without being patronizing.

In the end, you want to continue to love JJK, right? 

So love JJK! 

Acknowledge its flaws and be at peace with them for the sake of that love. Nothing is perfect.

so... today I finished off Rays route with the GOOD ENDING (thank god) and my sleep schedule is officially non existent! :D

lemme start off with Day 8, because that must've been the creepiest the game has ever gotten for me. I MEAN LOOK AT THIS:

EVERYONE IS LITERALLY GONE, SOMEONE PLS SEND HELP! T_T

I never knew there was a part of Saerans route in which he quite literally cuts off your contact with the RFA????? wish someone warned me, but the surprise was quite welcome too I suppose?? the glitches and the distorted music definitely amplified that scary and hopeless feel I got after being cut off from the rest of the members (especially bby Saeyoung, god I love that boy). OH AND THE WAY THE CHATROOMS WOULD GLITCH BEFORE LOADING?? THAT CREEPED ME TF OUT THANKS!! Although I was in a way also happy that I was able to talk to Saeran more! (it is his route after all).

The chats with Rika always left me feeling frustrated. I could see where she came from and understood her motivations for the way she acted and behaved, but it hurt to see the way in which she believed she was loving and caring for Saeran, and how Saeran internalized everything she told him, idk that just left me feeling a new typa broken.

It was very tempting to lash out and get angry or even just to submit to Saeran and his horrible tormenting, but I held on to get that sweet delectable good ending! (gotta get that cute kiss CG after all)

Also I was worried about Saeyoung and his safety ALL THE TIME, I knew there was a part in the game in which he'd be kidnapped but when it finally happened I honestly wanted to stop playing lmao, also Saejoong Choi can take a piss somewhere, I hate him and I wish they revealed more of his crimes in Saeran's route :(

Saeran's route also honestly made me love Jumin so much more, his so endearing, honest and caring. Love that we get to see more of his relationship with V here, you can actually see that they're best friends and that makes my heart smile.

and AWW THE END WHERE WE SEE V WITH RIKA? That really played with my emotions, and has got me considering jumping straight into his route, because I for one know his life doesn't get any better in Saeran's AE unfortunately. (and of course I won't jump straight in again, since everyone around me has been saying getting two hours of sleep every night just to play an otome game is not healthy at all)

I love the calls we get with Saeran after he finally comes to and realizes his worth, the drugs finally out his system. His so adorable and soft and even goofy at times that it makes me question whether I actually see Saeyoung as my fav (though I'll have to think alot more about that T_T, I swear tomato boy I definitely still luv u lmao)

Also love that Saeran has the most kiss CGs out of all the routes, like yes we love to see it ^^

Oh and the guests for Another Story are just such a treat from Cheritz. I mean we literally invite a dragon?? (a shame Saeyoung couldn't see his dragon buddy) and a coding language??? cmon you can't tell me that's not cool.

even though you gave me the sleep friendly guide, I still ended up getting 100% for nearly everyday (except for 2 of them which was 90%) and I must say I'm quite drained and tired but also happy that I was FINALLY able to experience Another Story, something I only really read about online before without knowing too much detail of what specifically happened. It has quite honestly given me a bigger appreciation of the game as a whole :)

I would love to play Saeran's AE but am so scared of getting a bad end, and also there's like no guides for it anywhere? so there's that to worry about too i guess.

I did decide I'd perhaps take a break from playing this game for a while since unfortunately life continues and its back to work for me, but perhaps sometime soon I'll see myself playing through the alluring and mysterious photographers route instead? ;)

also this route got me thinking alot more why Cheritz didn't give the MC eyes?? Like what purpose does the MC not having eyes provide?? idk Cheritz just give her eyes please, I think that way there'd be alot less questions floating around my bloated and overfilled mind, thanks.

I am so excited to hear how you feel when you play V's route and, eventually, the AE! And I'll recommend another of Seeme's guides, hehe. I used it last time I replayed the AE and it was great. Here! There's a sleep schedule-friendly one too (though you are clearly a completionist when you play these routes and I feel that—I'm the same way).

Those kiss CGs! Are! Amazing. He honestly needs a lot of kisses.

As far as the eyes thing goes, it sure is weird, huh? Apparently it used to be pretty popular for otome game MCs not to have eyes so it's easier for players to self-insert. Lots of newer games seem to have MCs with more specific appearances (and personalities), though.

I do like to self-insert when I'm playing otome games but also...I look nothing like this MC anyway, so her being eyeless does nothing for me, lol.

Would you prefer an MC with eyes even if she's more clearly not you? I think I would.

Also this route ending man it kills me literally just thinking about it. But just! Remember! That our boy is fine in the end. He's okay!!! He's safe and he's happy and he's got a boat ❤️

I’m so torn right now on who’s my fav man like Kaga will always have a special place in my heart but now that I’ve read Shinonome, I’m not sure what to do with myself anymore

Omg this scene was so sweet. Like it really drove deep into my heart especially since Shinonome is pretty much the dick in his entire route — super mean, nothing good ever comes out of his mouth (except for the occasional sweet words), bad at expressing himself, always ordering the MC around, not showing affection as a bf ++++ and the list continues..

BUT to all Ayumu Angels out there, we all know that Shinonome’s just an awkward boy with wayyyyy too much pride but deep down, he really loves the MC more than he admits and cherishes her so deeply. Not to mention always have her best interest in heart both as an instructor and a boyfriend ☺️ like coming back to the scene on top, I literally squealed reading it. He is SO sweet omg (for his standards). Finally finished reading his graduation arc and I’m a total puddle of overwhelming affection for this mushroom head 😍😍😍

This scene was so sweet okay. I loved it that despite all his complaints, he still held the MC close and kissed both their insecurities away

And kudos to him for his self restraint at not going for the kill man 😂 I mean, if it were Kaga they would have been tearing each other’s clothes off by now BUT that’s not the point. Seriously, Shinonome wasn’t exactly my first choice in characters when I first read HLITF but he’s seriously grown on me 🥰

And how can we forget this. Yes, we know that your *ahem* equipment is working just fine ayumu 😘 I mean guys, did y’all see that last CG of him hovering above the MC???

True Ending ?

Before you keep reading this has massive spoilers for the game... Like Seven route, Secret Endings, Jumin route, V route, Judge or Forgive..... Don't read if you haven't cleared the game haha thanks

Welcome to me ranting about how toxic the MysMe fandom is again !!! Or just read me yelling about the game in general.. This time I'm going talk about Seven, or Saeyoung if you prefer jdkskdjd.

First off, let me start by saying I have nothing against him, LIKE NOTHING I REALLY DON'T LIKE ABOUT HIM. I love him so much and he's my son 🥺 And of course he deserves to be healthy and happy and all. My only problem is not with the character itself, but with the character's fandom. Same goes for Ray but we're not about to start another thing now 🤡

Everyone talks about Seven as if he's the "true route" "true ending" and "canon". No. He's not?? I mean, I don't know, I never asked Cheritz specifically, so if anyone reading this has proof where Cheritz directly says he is the canon ending and he's the one the MC is supposed to end up with, PLEASE message me, and I will shut up. Trust me, I just did some research and I can't seem to find where Cheritz confirms that... And this is about the "reset" theory as well, where does it say that Seven loves you in every route? Because if that's true, I'm going to feel... Really guilty about it. Jk I won't lmao. Why would he like me in the first place? He doesn't even know me... I didn't even try to get close to him lmao. So if you find something that I can't seem to be able to find, I'm a message away. :)

I don't like Seven's ending. I don't like it, like AT ALL. And not because you don't end up with Jihyun (People talk that way about his route.. Saying you don't end up with Saeran) but because he DIES. It's pretty much self-explanatory that he dies in all the other routes (except his!!) as well,(excluding Saeran, because I haven't played it yet.. But I heard he gets a bad ending there too) since he stays in Mint Eye and we all know he'll end up dead anyways.. It's what he wants. He wants to protect everyone and he is willing to give up his life to save them. But in Seven's ending, not only they (kind of) SHOW HOW HE DIES but he also DIES RIGHT IN FRONT OF JUMIN, HIS CHILDHOOD BEST FRIEND. Jihyun is literally the only one he has. He doesn't have a mother, his father is basically ignoring him with his shitty gold diggers and he's not close to anyone in the RFA. HE IS COLD BECAUSE HE THINKS SHOWING HIS FEELINGS DOESN'T MATTER. He doesn't even want to become friends with anyone at all.

(Another kinda big parenthesis here, the reason why he doesn't like women isn't because "Does Jumin Han is gay" or whatever, I DESPISE that stupid "joke" so much, it's not funny at all, and it's so unoriginal. It's the other way around, he and Jihyun are the ones that are most likely to be straight,since they both were canonically "in love" with Rika and in their respective routes, they end up with MC. The reason why he doesn't like women is because of the amount of women his father dates. He doesn't know that there could be someone that would truly care about him, not for his money, but for he, as a person. He thinks all women are the same, and he's not completely wrong.. most of us are like this. It's all so much deeper than "he's gay!!" and it is not funny or something you should joke about. He is not a character that should be used for LGBT+ representation or whatever.)

Back to our topic, Jumin and Jihyun were best friends for about two decades. (not one!!! They didn't meet when they were 15, tf) (And they also shouldn't be shipped together????? They're best friends, their friendship is so pure.. Stop misunderstanding it??????????) How would you feel like if you watched your childhood best friend, the one you've been friends with for 20 years, pretty much the only one you still have by your side, just die? And you could do nothing to save him?? You do not overcome something like that.. It's permanent trauma. And it's even worse considering that this is not his route, meaning that now he's left with nobody. Since Seven and Jumin share a story mode, (I mean Deep Story..) the Sarah storyline is canon, and Jumin probably ends up with her.. Which only just makes things even worse for him.

You know let's just say, this is Seven's route. It's not Jumin, so obviously he can't be happy, or as much happy as Seven. I can accept that.. What annoys me is that everyone says Seven's ending is the true ending.

How is it the true ending though? The only ones that actually end up happy is Seven, Saeran and MC. Again, THIS IS NOT WRONG, IT IS ONLY NORMAL TO NOT BE ABLE TO HAVE EVERYONE HAPPY.

Right?

No??????? Have y'all even played Judge or Forgive???????????? I mean of course you haven't, y'all's asses are stuck to Saeran route and sobbing over how "his AE isn't out yet !!!!!!!!!!!" like bitch shut the fuck up at least you got a kiss CG. Anyways, if you even bothered to do V route and his AE, Saeran doesn't die !!!! He actually is happy !!!!!!!! You know who else is happy? SEVEN IS HAPPY. Like actually happy.

This is the reason why I consider V's ending the true ending.. Of course part of the reason is because he's my fav but I actually can support my opinion with arguments.. Unlike y'all saying Seven route is true ending because his route has the most plot twists (????? and how does that make it the true ending ?????)

You see, V's ending actually leaves pretty much everyone satisfied. Of course not everyone is HAPPY HAPPY but at least nobody dies??????? Seven and Saeran finally meet and Saeran "forgives Seven for abandoning him" (yeah I ain't blaming him, there was nothing he could do really) and like they're actually happy lol. Yeah they're HAPPY HAPPY because they don't need a girl more than they need each other.

I remember making a post on Instagram were I talked about how I consider V's ending the canon one because it leaves everyone happy and someone just commented that Saeran dies in his route?? I answered saying that he actually is not dead and he is safe and happy in the end and they kept talking bullshit like "yeah but he's not really happy" UHHH????? HE IS??????? JUST BECAUSE HE'S NOT WITH THE MC DOESN'T MEAN HE CAN'T BE HAPPY????

Tbh this is just my personal opinion but I think Saeran needs a family more than he needs MC... I haven't played his route yet and maybe it's because I played V's too many times but I CANNOT picture him as my boyfriend or husband.. I see him as my son. And I think that he'd be happier with Seven (his brother) and V (his father figure) rather than just MC as his wife. Then again, that's only my opinion.. It just kinda annoys me how obsessed he is with you at the start of Another Story and how you kinda support that obsession if you get his route.. That's not really true. I think the MC only wants to help him, but why can't we do that in V's route..? Do y'all really HAVE to date someone to believe they're happy?

How about everyone can think whatever they want?? Like, we can choose whatever ending we like?? (Bad Endings excluded, cough cough Rika stans, cough cough toxic Jumin "stans") If someone thinks Yoosung is the true ending, that's up to them.. Do not just go around saying Seven is true ending as if it's confirmed and actually canon.. Because it's not. We don't care about how much you like him and how cute and funny he is. Shut the fuck up.

I've been typing for literal days so Imma just saying this lastly, EVEN RIKA IS HAPPY IN V'S AE. I don't really know about Judge Ending cause I heard it's fucked up but in Forgive Ending, she actually becomes a better person. Like truly regrets everything she did and actually does good to people. This is the only Rika I approve of.. Shut the fuck up toxic Rika stans 🤢🤢🤮

Anyways yeah that's all.. My personal opinion, don't you even think about fucking attacking me you toxic assholes (only talking about the toxic part of the fandom...) But we can argue :^)

THAT’S RIGHT BITCH! It’s October and I am still watching and inexplicably blogging about Supernatural - a dinosaur of a television show that’s been on the air longer than most children I know have been alive. 

I know I’m An Old because I don’t think kids these days understand the struggle it was watching television before streaming. We had to wait for episodes. Hell, I don’t think kids these days even really have to wait for seasons. I mean, Voltron premiered on Netflix in 2016, capped off their seasons at 13 episodes a piece and, oh yeah - aired seasons 5 - 8  all in 2018. Was I mad about that? No of course not. Do I also say phrases like “kids these days? Yes, so who even knows if what I think is relevant anymore. 

Alright, so speaking of seasons, last time I looked at pilots and pilot seasons and how the streaming era is changing everything we know about starting a TV show. But once you’ve got your pilot down, now what? 

Not this kind of pilot. Also, based on the prerequisites for demon possession, we’re all agreed this co-pilot’s like, an alcoholic, right?

There’s a rule in TV (sort of) that the first six episodes (some might argue the first season entirely) should be a kind of rehash of the pilot. The pilot sets up your premise and once you’ve got your pilot down, your job as a TV writer is to re-establish that premise over and over again. You’re building your world, you’re writing it’s rules. You’re setting up a template, a formula for how your episodes are gonna play out. This helps your audience get to know the characters, get familiar with your world, get comfortable spending time with them. Essentially, you’re getting your audience to trust the show that they’re going to be tuning in to for at least the next 20-some-odd episodes. 

I’d also argue that this is important so that later, you can break that format later. I’m not saying you should break the trust your audience puts in you, and that’s probably a real fine line of distinction. But if you break your rules right, it can hit the audience with a big emotional sucker punch. Or, it can stand out as a real breakout, tentpole of an episode - I’m thinking specifically about Ghostfacers! In season 3, or Once More, With Feeling, from Buffy. Those episodes work, really work, because they deviate from the formula, but they only work because we know the formula so well.  And these aren’t big changes to the way episodes are done, they’re just shifted ever so slightly that they felt new again.. 

So what is the premise of the first four episodes Supernatural? What’s the formula they set up for the rest of the series? 

Brothers. I said it in my last post, I’ll say it again, Sam and Dean/Jensen Ackles and Jared Jared Padalecki are what makes this show. Full stop. I think we could have gotten 5 seasons out of a show starring two other dudes. I do not think this show could have gotten 15 seasons with two other dudes. So from the pilot through Phantom Traveler, we learn that Sam and Dean have a sh*tty home life - their mother was killed by some mysterious evil thing and their father raised them to be little demon-hunting child soldiers while they look for the killer. Oh yeah, and Sam’s girlfriend died the exact same way which we will never forget because Sam’s gonna have a dream about it almost every episode from here on out. We set up the tension between the brothers - that Sam got to go to college while Dean stayed with their dad like a good boi. We learn that everybody hates each other probably because they are deeply and unhealthily codependent love each other so damn much. 

Next we get the basic rundown of the season arc: 

Dad’s on a hunting trip and he hasn’t been home in a few days. The Winchester brothers are looking for him and by extension, looking for answers as to what killed their mom/Sam’s girlfriend. We also get the basic rundown of every episode: dad is a mysterious and elusive sonuvuabitch, so every episode they go about, say it with me now:

“The family business.” I would also accept “Killing as many evil sons of bitches as I possibly can,” but why can’t I find a gif for it?!? 

Backtracking on this but you know what else gets hecking established with the Winchesters? Sam is the cute one with the people skills and the puppy dog face, so you’d naturally assume that he’s the soft one. No. Not the case. Dean is the Sofffft Boi. The SOFTest boi. Dean wants Sam to talk about his feelings, Dean wants Sam to not keep things bottled up, Dean is the one who desperately wants to keep a hold of his family and also is just deeply broken and traumatized on the inside and oh no, I told myself I wouldn’t do this but I did it anyway. Sorry not sorry. This watch, I’m really picking up on the fact that Dean is, weirdly, the Mom Friend in this first season. Like, he’s basically a Trailer-Trash-Teen-Pregnancy Mom who’ll give you spaghettios five nights a week and a shot of whiskey so you’ll quit yer bitchin’ and go to sleep faster, but he’s the Mom nonetheless. Later in this season and in other seasons, I think you even see him do his dumb-baby-best filling in as the Mom when John went off the deep end. Anyway, I have a lot of feelings and we don’t have time to unpack all of that so I’ll just move on.

RUDE.

Next we set up our Supernatural Bag of Holding - what’s in it? What are the mystical artifacts they use to kill those evil sons of bitches? First up is The Car. Damn, I am not a cars girl, but that 67 Chevy, it does things to me. 

This car has some weird pavlovian trigger for me, it’s not NATURAL. 

The journal. 

John Winchester, you journal the way I imagine a psycho killer journals and I would just really appreciate it if you could be ANY MORE ORGANIZED THAN THIS.

The Trunk Full of Weapons - I love that in these first few episodes (and possibly the rest of the series???) they give this HELLA conspicuous look every time they open the trunk full of weapons. It’s hilarious EVERY TIME.

No, you’re not being obvious at ALL, guys.

The Fake ID’s - from credit cards to impersonating feds, these boys are not afraid to break the law to save some lives and I feel like that’s...that’s the theme of the show maybe? They’re here to save people and they’ll do what they have to to do that? In a world that clearly establishes a dark vs. light/good vs. evil dichotomy, the Winchester make it their job to live in a world of grey? Basically? 

Next on the checklist for this first season of Supernatural - it’s spoopy. *Spoop mileage may vary.* I said it last time, but I’ll say it again: this first season aired at 9:00pm at night. That means it’s primetime stuff for the 18 - 25 year old crowd, but they don’t want to risk some 13 year old watching it and getting too scared before bed. 9:00pm is X Files time slots, Fringe time slots. 9:00pm says you’re gonna get something a little more gruesome and gory and shocking than at 8pm. 8pm is for Friends. Vampire Diaries aired at 8pm its first season. 9pm is for the real adult content (but not too adult because the audience is still mostly children). 

SPOOP!

But yeah, let’s look at the real horror vibe that you get off of these first four episodes. We talked about La Llorona from the first episode - this is a legit ghost that they fight. The kids at the end that literally drag their mom to hell? Pretty spooky stuff. The Wendigo in episode 2 is a literal monster of the week and so for me personally, it’s not that scary, but it is a cannibal monster that eats human flesh. Dead in the Water has vibes from both Jaws and Friday the 13th. Everything from the lighting to the sound design let’s you know this is a horror show, or as horror as you can get on network television. Listen to the scenes just before somebody dies and you get a nice creepy “Come play with me” whisper coming out of the water. I’m a little spooked just thinking about it now. Yes I know I’m a chicken, and I’m OK WITH THAT. And if we go past my season 1 disc 1 into episode 5, Bloody Mary is STILL terrifying and I STILL watched that episode with half my face covered. That’s where I am these days. It’s 2020 and the world is a nightmare but imagining Bloody Mary creepin’ out in my mirror does not need to be a part of it. 

SHE F*CKIN CLIMBS OUT OF THE MIRROR GUYS! I DIDN’T KNOW SHE COULD DO THAT!!!

Then we get Phantom Traveler and our very first case of black-eyed-demonic possession. Watching this episode now, it’s like watching someone’s home movie of their first steps as a baby. They’ve never even done an exorcism before guys! They have to read the exorcism rite out of the journal! It’s so cute!!! Let’s not think too hard about how they got that full sized bottle of holy water past TSA in a post-9/11 world. And try to ignore how poorly these special effects have aged - the smoke from the demon possession?? OMG! THIS EFFECT! I’m pretty sure I could make that effect with my first ever graphic design software on my, like, 2009 mac book pro. So cute and soooo good! I’m gonna leave that CG plane alone, they’re doing their best.

You want to know what my favorite established staple of Supernatural season 1 is? The extras. LOOKIT these guys - 

Wendigo you have Cory Monteith who later goes on to star in Glee. 

You have Alden Ehrenreich, Debatable Han Solo, doing a lot of face work with very little dialogue. 

You have Gina Holden who is in SO. MANY. Spooky-type things! My personal favs are Blood Ties and Harper’s Island, but she’s in Fringe, she’s in the SAW franchise, she’s in the Final Destination franchise, she was in some deleted scenes on an episode of Teen Wolf! I LOVE seeing Gina Holden, anywhere she pops up. 

And speaking of Harper’s Island, you’ve also got Callum Keith Rennie who played John Wakefield in Harper’s Island, a show that was A+ Great and I highly recommend if you like Agatha Christie and/or murder mysteries. 

Honestly, Rennie looks like he’s about to murder a bitch in this episode of Supernatural, it is not a stretch to believe he’s a psycho killer.

Dead in the Water you’ve got Amy Acker, a regular in Joss Whedon and Whedon-adjacent type shows.

Good LORD, this wardrobe was SO 2000′s WB and it PAINED me.

And finally in Phantom Traveler, you have Jaime Ray Newman who also shows up in a lot of the shows that I like to watch. She was in Eureka, she was in Midnight Texas, both kind of terrible shows that I love because they are terrible, but she was ALSO in Bates Motel and Veronica Mars, which are generally considered to be more quality, so there’s that. 

This still implies that they actually LIT scenes, which is a SURPRISE TO ME. 

Point is, seeing these actors in Supernatural back in the early 2000’s felt like I was seeing the start of their careers. That may or may not have been the case, but as a viewer it was exciting to see them pop up again in other things.

So what about TV now? Do we still use those first 6 (sometimes more) episodes to re-establish the premise? Well, it certainly hasn’t gone away. Look at any network show that still produces 22 - 24 episodes a season and you’ll still see that the pilot season just keeps re-iterating the premise established in the pilot episode, specifically in anything that’s procedural - that’s you’re monster/problem-of-the-week shows. Think sitcoms like Brooklyn 99 or Superstore or dramedies like Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist. The reason being that these shows play in the traditional model of television - on a network, once a week. They are not releasing episodes all at one time or relying on their audiences to stream a whole season in one sitting. These are shows that still assume that someone out there is going to tune in or stumble across their show one night while they’re surfing channels (lol) and need to be told, no matter what episode they’ve just turned on, what the premise of the show is. They need to be formulaic so that people can pick it up anywhere at any time.

But what about shows that don’t follow this traditional model? I mentioned in my last post that seasons are getting shorter and shorter, so when you’re writing a show that only has (8) episodes instead of 22, how much time do you really want to spend establishing the premise? Because of these short seasons, you’re also dealing with shows that are more serialized and less procedural than their predecessors - meaning, you’re dealing with a show that focuses on a season long story (think Game of Thrones or Stranger Things where each episode is an important chapter that you can’t skip) vs. a procedural (think the shows I mentioned above or any cop drama really) where each episode is it’s own contained story, neatly wrapped up at the end. These are shows where you can skip an episode and still know where you are in the show no matter where you start or stop watching. Supernatural is a little bit of both - procedural with their monsters of the week AND serialized with a season long arc. We’ll talk more on that in a later post. 

Not only are we getting shorter seasons, but we’re also dealing with shows that are not released over long periods of time. A few streaming channels, like Disney+ and HBO Max, make a deliberate point to slow-drip their seasons, but most streaming channels will release entire seasons in one shot. You don’t need to worry about your audience missing an episode because they have 24/7 access to all the episodes all at once. And for the most part, they’re designed to be binged. They start at full speed and they don’t slow down to keep driving you to the finale. 

Do I think the procedural is ever going to go away? No. As much talk as there is about dropping the cop drama from TV all together, I think audiences still love a good mystery series. And you can’t just think of procedurals as cop dramas either - a procedural also covers most if not all sitcoms. New Girl, Letterkenny, Parks and Rec, Superstore - these all have a premise that doesn't change from week to week. They may make tiny shifts away from what they set up in the pilot, but by and large, you know what you’re getting into any time you turn on an episode. I think we as an audience still like that kind of familiarity. We may be seeing a bigger swing towards more serialized content, but that doesn't mean that the procedural is dead and gone. 

So that’s what we’ve got for Supernatural - two dudes, driving around in a car full of spears and hand guns, killing bad guys. Some day, they may even find that father that’s missing. What could possibly go wrong? A lot. Stay tuned.

Well, I couldn’t post my fav of the day yesterday because our house internet went down and it’s too long for my phone, so let’s catch up. The fav of the day is...

DINOBOT!

Or, proof that I know how to pick ‘em.

Okay, little background: I first came across Beast Wars while channel flipping at my grandparents house way back in elementary school, and immediately freaked out when Dinobot came on the screen. A transformer that turns into a velociraptor? Well, sign me the fuck up!

So from then on I was a dedicated fan. I rarely missed an episode, fell in love with the whole cast and the story at large, got some of the toys, the whole nine yards. But of course, Dinobot was my favorite. His story was the one I followed the closest, his episodes got my full attention, and yes, though I had been spoiled that it was going to happen, I cried when he died.

Flash forward nearly two decades to a few months ago. I’m feeling nostalgic, I recall that despite reading up in Beast Wars here and there I had never sat down and watched the whole series from beginning to end, and I decide to do just that. So that’s what I did, and I’m glad that I did, because this show was even better than I remembered. As someone who was now older and had some experience in telling stories of my own, I was impressed in how well-written the scripts were, how great the characters and their personalities were, and how awesome the series as a whole turned out to be. Sure, the early CG was pretty bad, but I got used to it, and it did improve as the series went on.

But again, just how it had been when I was a kid, Dinobot was my favorite. And it wasn’t because he turned into a velociraptor. It was because he was genuinely the best character in the cast.

See, despite my bitching earlier, I really do love morally ambiguous characters, so long as they’re deliberately portrayed as being morally ambiguous. And Dinobot is a shining example of how to do it right. Formerly a Predacon who was a part of Megatron’s original team of renegades, he becomes convinced that Megatron had completely led the team astray and was unfit to command, so after his coup fails he settles for the next best thing: switching sides over to the Maximals. But though he fights for the heroic side from then on, he still remains true to his Predacon ideals. See, he’s not exactly like the rest of the bad guys. Rather, he is a warrior who honestly believes that things would be better if the strong set the pace, and the weak must either adapt or perish. And though he often pushes to become the new leader whenever it seems that Optimus can’t do the job, it isn’t from simple selfish ambition as was the case with Starscream, but because he thinks that he’s the best man for the job. However, despite always being ready for violence, Dinobot still distinguishes himself as an honorable warrior, one who holds to a sort of bushido-type code and refuses to take an unfair advantage of an enemy. He is also rather poetic, as is fond of quoting Shakespeare during his private musings.

However, there is still plenty of conflict with his new comrades, and a lot of mutual frustration develops over their dueling philosophies. Rattrap especially openly distrusts them, and their constant bickering made for some great comedic moments. Still, over the first season, Dinobot does come to win the Maximals trust and becomes a valued member of the team.

Of course, that makes things worse when, upon finding out that Megatron had been right all along, he finds himself conflicted between his Predacon ideals and his Maximal friends, and for a time defects back. He is unable to go through with it though, as even if Megatron was right, he is still abhorrent to Dinobot’s code of honor, and Dinobot finally does the right thing and returns to the Maximals. He pays for it though, as they have been deeply hurt by his betrayal and never really trust him again, and it’s clear that he is disgusted with himself.

But then, it happens. Megatron enacts his ultimate plan to change the future by destroying humanity’s ancestors, and only Dinobot is there to stop him. Rather than wait for backup, Dinobot throws himself headlong into battle, taking on and taking down the Predacons one by one until he’s confronted by Megatron himself. Even then he doesn’t give up, and with his final burst of energy he destroys the means of Megatron’s plans and saves the future, though it costs him his life.

Dinobot’s final moments are truly touching, especially when Rattrap not only forgives him, but is the first to stand and salute as Dinobot’s spark leaves his body. I’ve watched this scene dozens of times and it still makes me choke up.

Of course, he does come back in a way, in the form of his psychotic clone, but that was kind of botched, as they never really did all they could have done with the concept. And yeah, cutting out Dark Glass was a major mistake, if you ask me. Still, even the second Dinobot got to go out like a boss, just like his predecessor. 

So, raise a glass to the greatest of Cybertron, the one who lived a warrior and died a hero. Raise a glass to Dinobot, for whom we all owe our existence.

do you have a favorite hwbm character? favorite ending?

Oh boy ok um lets see

My fav is Pluto for reasons. Jokes aside though I find Pluto’s story (and backstory with LT) really interesting, and she is an absolute angel despite how much responsibility was lumped onto her. She’s got a level of kindness and care that I look up to and want to strive for. So she’s my favorite!

Now then the second ones kinda long and spoilery for HWBM (and a lil for WKTD) so I’ll put it in a read more down below!

I think my favorite ending is probably cradle’s graces. Its the first one I got, and its the one that seems most hopeful to me? Its definitely the most idealistic and optimistic. All of the endings are good, but in some way bittersweet. With MF they can never return to space and carve out a space where they can be safely queer (which is good! Though I’m not sure if anyone on Earth, even those who’d benefit from such a space, can get there? Hopefully the decimal movement could help everyone on Earth as well..), and in CM as far as I can tell they leave behind everyone else who fought for space? I wasn’t clear on what happened to everyone else and it sort of feels like they give up on humanity for each other (in more ways than one).

Of course, for Cradles grace’s they have to fight and resist earth’s pull constantly, and are mostly restricted to ship to ship contact, but (like the CG ending monologue says) it’s the only future that leads somewhere. It also parallels the true ending in We Know the Devil, as they recruit the other pilots (scouts) sent by earth and build a resistance movement to the White Void/Earth (God). Its the only ending where it feels they’ve paved a way for future generations have the chance to be free from earth’s gravity (be openly queer/love who they love/transition). So that’s why I like it!

RZ’s thoughts so far:

This is gonna be a long one because I have a habit of rambling, but here goes! When we first started reading Homestuck I remembered when I first heard about it many people recommended skipping the first couple acts and just getting to the parts with the trolls. As a dumb stupid teenager, I did that and of course missed out on a hell of a lot of context for everything happening (not that it matters cuz as I mentioned previously, I only looked at the pictures for the most part like the toddler I am). Reading it now it’s actually super fun, lots of humour! Of course some things are... dated but looking past this, I still really enjoy it!  When we first got introduced to each kid, my favourite was Rose. As of Act 5, I still really like her and she’s still my favourite, followed closely by John. I do like Jade and Dave a lot too, don’t get me wrong, but they aren’t my favs lol When the trolls were first introduced in their pester logs, my favourite was CG (Karkat as we later find out) but I really loved GC (Terezi) as well. As of Act 5, I still think Karkat is my favourite, but I am really fond of Terezi, Sollux, Tavros and Nepeta. There are still some trolls who haven’t officially been named at the point we’ve read up to but those are my personal favs. Vriska and Gamzee are my least favourites though I think the second one is an unpopular opinion.  I also remember when I first “read” homestuck I skipped the intermission because it was too long. I definitely regret how I consumed this as a teen but I’m really glad to be getting into it properly now! It really is full of quirky characters.  I’m really excited to read more and see where this is all going! I also really adore Vodka Mutini haha. Oh and the animations so far have all been really cool, some amazing music too! And the art- As simplistic as a lot of it is, it really is gorgeous sometimes.  -rainyZephyr (RZ)

BP: When I think of his blackness and what he's done for me

Black Panther, baby!

I’ve been waiting for this movie for a long time! I remember the day I first saw the trailer for this movie, I was like Denzel with the one tear drop

 -          frickin beautiful. I’ve been saying that “Black Panther” is for black people what “Wonder Woman” was for women in 2017. I can remember back when WW first came out last year, I was at the coffee shop down the street, feeding my addiction. There was a girl behind the counter – I asked her for my usual.

 She replied “What so I’m just supposed to know what that is?” Praphit: “Well, I come here often, so…” Irritated Girl: “Wha, wha, what that mean? You just assume I’ve paid attention to you? Matter of fact, you just assuuuumed I’d get you some coffee this morning.” Praphit: “But, don’t you work here?” Empowered Girl who is starting to scare the Praphit: “What because I’m a woman I must be a servant huh?? Just another woman getting some man whatever he wants… that’s all I am to you?” Praphit: “…  huh” Girl who must have believed she was Wonder Woman herself: “ Did you just call me a bitch?!” Praphit: “What? No!” An angry, scary version a WW: “But I bet you thought it!”

Then, she gave me the finger, mooned me(that's right, MOONED me! - who even does that anymore??)… and then walked out. Then, came The Harvey Weinstein Storm, men scared everywhere by #MeToo, and Louis CK hiding out… possibly wherever Kevin Spacey has been hiding out. I never did see her again... I also never got my coffee.

I hope she's ok and found another job. I know Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman) is her hero, but... it's not like she's gonna feed all of the inspired jobless ladies out there. Anyway, as strange as that encounter was, I get it! Empowerment will do that to a person; it feels righteous! Now, Black Panther, baby! Black people… we’re going to have a hashtag too. Maybe #bleepwhitey… that may be a lil strong, but something! It’s coming! This movie is a big deal! - so big of a deal that white executives in Hollywood were planted in critic circles in pre-screenings to stir up bad reviews.

The white people running Hollywood were like “We’ve gotta knock this movie down a few pegs before we have another ‘storm’ on our hands! Women are already rising up…. Black people rose up recently with #OscarsSoWhite, we can’t have it happen again. What’s next??! Who's gonna rise up next??! Asians?! Latinos?! Little People?! We can’t have this?!” There’s already a belief out there that you can’t have a worldwide blockbuster with the main character being black. So, how is this movie REALLY?? That’s why your Praphit is here for you:) “Black Panther” starts out right after “Civil War” (currently my fav comic book movie:) What I appreciate about Marvel movies is how well they are written; not just individually, but how they all come together. Of course (spoiler alert from “Civil War”) the king of Wakanda is dead, and now his son T’Challa (Black Panther) is heir to take over! Black Panther as we know is played by Chadwick Boseman. I love him as Black Panther!

 Some may say he’s not aggressive enough to be king/BP, but I think someone who’s always calm, even when they’re angry is scarier than someone who wears their emotions on their sleeves. One second, you think everything is cool, and the next you’re on your back, hurting, with Chadwick Boseman smiling at you. Wakanda is beautiful! I like what Marvel did here. Marvel is really good at creating worlds that look and feel real. I'm willing to bet that some believe Wakanda is real... probably our president.

 I'm telling you,there's a speech coming up when Trump will say something like

 " We've got to make America great in tech again. I had Mike Pence go to the movie theatre to watch this documentary called "Black Panther", I had him leave quickly in protest (there were too many black and brown people there - I only bring it up because many of them were illegals..), but we had others stay and report back to me. Wakanda, this terrorist country... possibly where Barack Obama is really from; we don't know... we don't know...  but, they turned their shithole of a country into an empire with this amazing metal called "Vibranium" (Idk if you've ever heard of it, because it's AMAZING). I'm telling you, we're going to get ahold of even more Vibranium than those savages and use it to make America #1 in tech again." - you tell me I couldn't write for the prez:) Many have described Wakanda as Zamunda (another fictional nation in Africa from “Coming to America”) in the future. I think those people have it right.

 If Eddie Murphy took Zamunda 100 years into the future, and stole all of Apple’s tech (imagine how scary Apple will be in 100 years), and then came back to the present… and used this tech to create… idk… a super tech “Eddie Land”, it’d be Wakanda. They are also the leading source of Vibranium (strongest medal around this comic book universe). The plot is layered, but they make it work. I was surprised that a product of Disney would go into such deep waters. Race is of course dealt with – not only in the movie, but simply by this movie’s existence. I can remember when I was younger, the only comic book characters to dress up as or play make believe as were Superman, Batman, Spiderman, and The X-Men. But, no black characters. I mean… I could have dressed up like Storm for Halloween, but…

or it might have looked more like this -

- maybe rock a... mankini silver top, and some dark purple eye shadow and lip stick... so there was that I guess. Picture me as a little boy dressed up like that - I'd make it work. Let’s move on:) I also love how these characters are portrayed – there are lots of different cultures of black people, but all the differences in appearance and worldviews are highlighted as positives in this movie. It truly is (on a comic book movie scale of course) a celebration of black people from different walks of life. There are no dummies or potheads or gangsters – but black people are all represented as strong, smart, and capable in this movie; even the villains! Michael B Jordan!

I probably liked him more than Black Panther. His character is smart, calculated, complex and easy to sympathize with, even though he’s the main villain. As far as portraying strong women – I think “Black Panther” does it even better than “Wonder Woman” did. Again, showing the strength of different types of women. Danai Gurira (whom I’m in love with by the way… just sayin’… if somehow you’re reading this… you can find me in Bmore:)

 She has a scene in the beginning of the movie that displays courage, strength, command, and yet also warmth and beauty. It's hard to keep a strong willed woman character balanced in a story without it going in a wrong direction, or without her becoming "one note" (idk if y'all know what I mean), but the writing and Gurira's performance are perfect with this; as well as the other female characters - I'd love to see a movie with them as the stars. They also tackle colonialism, mainly through Martin Freeman.

This motha bleeper right here stole Samuel L Jackson’s part. Where the hell is Sam L?!

How you gonna have the blackest movie of the year without Sam L?!

 Anyway, Martin Freeman does a good job, but I couldn’t watch him without getting mad. Whitey! - you just couldn’t let us have one movie to ourselves could you??! This movie even tackles politics, generational black community issues, African traditions, and culture wars in the black community (again through the filter of a comic book movie, but still). A lot of this movie is about what type of king T’Challa wants to be, what type of king his people want/need, and how (or if) a nation should use its strengths to help one other nations. Marvelous (no pun intended) how they blended all of these things together. Can I talk about the sexiness??! -cuz whew! My future wife

(I also love how her character (Okoye) is so confident and committed to what she believes. She should be running Wakanda to tell you the truth)

 And many more – tons of sexiness in this movie, but not in an exploitive manner. It’s not just the looks, but the character, the ideals, the strength, the honor that adds to everyone’s sexiness.

 And it’s the men too! Even I’ve got to admit that Michael B Jordan looks damned good.

Though I couldn't find a good picture of him... you need context for what's going on with his torso (besides being jacked)... his hair messed up, and he looks like he has marbles in his mouth right now. Let me try again (not that he doesn't make that work).

He's one of those men where when he walks in and steals your girlfriend or wife, you say to yourself "I understand." Shiiii, you get some drinks in you, and YOU might be leaving with him. Ladies, forget “Fifty Shades of Bullshit”, you’ve got all of the sexiness you need in this movie right here. So, you say “John Praphit, is there anything bad about this movie?” NO! Quit looking to downgrade black movies you racists! :) Nothing “bad”, but I did have a few issues. This IS a comic book movie after all, and despite the commendation I’d give this movie for veering off the typical Marvel scripted formula, I would have liked a lil more action. The action was good, but not great. Also, I would have loved more of Michael B Jordan. His character is so good! Mikey B does an excellent job making us feel  - whether it’s sympathy, hatred, or disgust in his way of thinking; he makes it happen. I would have loved to see more of his interaction with the people of Wakanda. The ending felt rushed. Not only with characters jumping from loving one another to wanting to kill one another (and vice versa), but also in CG. It’s like they didn’t have enough in the budget to crank up the last fight scene… that money probably went to Martin Freeman

 .. you rat bastard. I'm sorry. He was good, but still #wherethehellisSamL? Besides, all of that I loved this movie! Very entertaining! It was funny. It has a lot of good talking points in it. And it’s a big deal for black people! Grade: B+++ First time ever for a “B+++”!!! Originally, a B+, but an extra plus for blackness – seriously, I think it’s a game changer for not only comic book movies, but all types of movies… another stepping stone of progress. I truly believe it’ll have a positive creative impact on our youth as well. And the last plus is for sexiness, cuz.. da

 Dammit! Not you Martin Freeman! So help me!  *deep sigh* Now I forgot what I was going to say. Anyway, good stuff! On second thought... I'm going to give this movie two grades. The B+++, but also... when I think of his blackness (The king!) - the positive progressive impact that I believe this movie has and will have are too great not to give it an A My Semi Objective Technical Grade:  B+++ Blackness Grade: A The only thing that could have made it better on that scale would be if I were in it.

Makes me wanna follow in the footsteps of that now probably homeless barista.  Quit my job and march onto righteousness!

Top 3 Fictional Characters:  To be honest I struggle so hardcore with these??? I’ll go with old stuff rather than new since they’ve got such a deep place in my heart already: Kurama, Hiei (YYH) and Kari (Digimon). But I really have no freaking clue.

Top 3 Ships: Ughhhhh that’s so tough. I have ships but I don’t necessarily always feel SUPER STRONGLY towards them. Trash heap for sure. After that... Roy and Riza from FMA, and hmm... makoharu I guess?

Study tips; 1. Excersice all day. Make mistakes. 1 sub per day. 1 sub per 3 days before exam week. 2. Sleep early on exam week and wake up again at midnight, study, sleep again at 4.30 a.m. Caffeine is a must. I know It’s hard to wake up but if you get used to it, it will become an obsession. Ada masa tu mengantuk sangat but i had to study so i put minyak angin dekat mata. Pedih tapi hilang la jugak mengantuk sbb banyak kelip hahahaha. I only work hard on exam week. I dont work hard when teacher suruh salin nota di class. Trust me my handwriting shows that I’m lazy. 3. Ask your teachers a lot. Whatsapp the question if you’re at home. My contact is full of them😂 even Mr.Koo. So dont delete whatsapp just because SPM is coming like everyone did sbb on holiday, this will benefits you a lot. Sacrifice recess time at bilik guru. If she’s not there, find another cg yg ajar sub sama. Bother them always until they feels like “oh dia mmg nk berjaya. Kalau aku ajar mmg tak rugi.” 4. Before exam, go to @bekam_corner and ask for bekam kepala. Students discount pun ada ([phone]) this is a big secret of mine actually. I’m not genius i study last minute sbb my otak jenis last minute lagi sng ingat. And of course bekam kepala helped me a lot dari segi ringankan kepala & cerdaskan minda. Sbb tu masa exam laju je fikir. Masa real SPM pun tidur pukul 5 pagi paling lambat tapi otak masih segar dgn ilmu bila bangun. 5. Read Al Quran everyday on morning and before 8 p.m. My fav surah is Al Waqiah cause it can murahkan rezeki you. 6. Focus in class & ajar kawan. Study group also helped but not much. Sbb byk masa akn membazir with laughter so i prefer to study alone and refer cikgu. 7. Change study schedule based on your latest result. If 4A5B masa tov study a lot B sub for oti. A lot more than A sub. Petang for math on sunday acc on monday and repeat over again that week. After sch & night sub such as BM. Exam schedule must be based on your exam sub. Contoh, kalau sains start first day exam, study sains paling lambat (3 days before exam start) kalau BI last study BI dulu awal. So kena tahu jadual exam cepat cepat utk adjust schedule kita di kalendar. Thats mean 2 minggu setengah dh start study utk exam (1 sub per 3 days). Conclusionnya study schedule and exam schedule is a different thing. 8. Solat sunat and my fav du'a is “Oh Allah please lend me Your cleverness cause You’re the cleverest—indeed my success can only come from You.” Dont forget zikr Ya Rashidu byk kali for otak and Ya Rafi for makbulkan hajat. 9. Avoid dramas. Avoid hurting teacher’s heart. Avoid riak, dont study to show off. Avoid negative people. Avoid online too much. 15 minutes a day and 15 minutes at night is better. Kalau ada kawan dari sekolah lain, whatsapp them for peruncingan. I lead a group called “Terengganu United Student” mmg budak dari almost 10 jenis skolah ada. We talked a lot about topik target yg diberi from their teacher. That group hanya active bila exam. Avoid pergi tandas masa cg mengajar. After lessons baru pergi. 10. Do your own thing even if you’re alone. Everyone go their own way after SPM. Trial also penting sbb i got UTP, UTM offers and scholarship Yayasan Melaka even though result belum keluar lagi. 11. Personal tutor: [phone] and i have one more number but she is gonna working as a doctor. My tuition is at Tuisyen City beside Warung Katana. But lebih baik ikut lessons from our teachers at school or penceramah dari skolah lain sbb dorang lebih tahu format SPM macam mana. Kalau nak belajar untuk faham takpe tapi rujuk balik cikgu di sekolah. Takut nanti SPM dpt markah kurang sbb tak ikut format. Serious. 12. Bila dh beli buku latihan, buat, and show it to your teachers at school. Bukan menunjuk but untuk semakan terperinci. Bila dh habis buku tu beli lagi yg baru. I have a lot of books for each sub. It looks like I’m an owner of PSI😂. 13. Avoid a competition kalau boleh or an events outdoor. I always spend time at home and balik awal sekolah sbb x libatkan diri. Why? Because masa form 1-form ¾ dh active. Koko is important too but jgn libat byk sgt. Cukuplah sikit je itupun kena ganti balik berapa jam yg habis. 14. Tanam minat to study and enjoy it. So that it will ease your understanding. Masa exam jawab cepat2 soalan objektif dalam 20 minit. Then baki masa tu buat 1 round lagi ulang. After that recheck semua until you confirm that It’s right. So It’s 3 round for objektif. 3 times reading 40 questions until the time is over. Never waste your time by sleeping cause you will regret it soon. Why should you waste the chances? It’s not like we exam everyday. It’s just for that week. 15. If you’re sick or in a bad mood or having a fever, please watch Astro tutor tv instead just laying on bed. That’s selemah-lemah iman for me. 16. Watch your foods. Never eat Maggie/carbonated drinks/ sour plums. NEVER. I skip eating that for 2 years and it’s really sad when my friends makan semua tu. I feel like a challenge at first but I told myself that the contains in those foods can melembabkan otak you. So slowly, I get allergic to it for the sake of my mind. Don’t forget to eat a lot of raisins. 17. There’s no 17, chase your dreams now.

P/s: It’s up to you to follow the steps or not but for me, it will help you a lot cause with this, my results from tov to oti to mid year and to final did increased one by one. I am not a clever person, i just worked hard and sometimes that work hard can beat a clever person. I know how it feels to get a bad results cause i used to get F grade on pt3. So i moved to chws to observe the secret behind chinese intelligent students behaviour. But i dont find it except my spirit increased sbb takde Melayu yg hebat. Never expect to be in persaingan kaum at all. After one year, people started to recognize me. Number one kekal mine for two years in class. Number 21 dikalangan budak alamanda on trial. Graduated with an honor jubah biru cemerlang. My dreams become school’s dream. Just like a quote saying “work hard until you dont need to introduce yourself”. Chws teachers is the best in the world. They really treated me nicely. Remember that if you nak berubah, the teacher will always be semangat to teach you. I never thought of being targetted by school as straight A’s candidate because my main reason to transfer school is to tebus silap pt3. Bukannya dapat straight A’s. Thats why I’m happy yesterday because i know myself better than anyone else. I struggled a lot since 2015. So i dont deserved to be sad now. Dont forget that SPM is important because with that, you can go to university and dapat gaji mahal atas sbb ada degree etc. SPM also important to balas jasa org tua dlm masa terdekat because kalau tunggu dapat kerja gaji besar mmg 10 tahun akan datang. But we cant guarantee if they are still alive or not. I hope by reading this you get inspired & can grant malay teachers wish that one day, a malay student will also be able to receive the result on stage too. Not only one person, but a few more to come in Shaa Allah. ‘20 liners, you got my back.

I think they got a real point. How you can suffer and be in pain with a “lie”, a fiction, but also how you can feel joy and hope out of the same lie/fiction.The dillema of fiction, of experimenting with taboo topics, in this example the killing, and questioning how much it plays a part into the reality side.

But in this case, it’s going to another level. Like questioning human existence in SOMA. If you take a real human mind and place it in a robotic body, can it still be called a human existence? Can humans scanned and preserved in a “fiction” still be called human?

In a sense, it’s like they’re blowing up a literal hole into ending the series and opening a path to direct the fans back to reality, or per say, the outside. “Go out there, do the thing, hope out there.”

In a world where your identity and truths and lies are uncertain, you have to pave a way for yourself taking the best out of it all? I’m sure someone will reason this game ending and the analogies way more eloquently, but anyway.

I really enjoyed the story. The extra effort they put on CGs really enrichened everything. I’m not sure how I feel about the big big big plot twist yet. I guess it’s something to slowly digest over time. Can’t say this is my favorite.

From one H!P single to another. You might be wondering why I had been consistently posting Hello! Project singles. Well, its the fault of their management company. LOL. They released alot of singles recently, both me and my money couldn’t keep up. RIP me. Don’t get me wrong, I am so happy that each idol group in Hello! Project gets a spotlight. This is Juice=Juice’s 10th single. It was released on April 18, 2018 in 7 editions: 3 regular and 4 limited.

    My Thoughts:

SEXY SEXY

Oh damn, this song is so sexy.

I didn’t expect they would go full throttle on the sexy theme. I mean, I thought it was just the title. Also the fact that their new members are still underage. I do like the song, especially the refrain and chorus. The chorus is so well-made and so-H!P. I also like the intro music, it reminds me of my Juice=Juice fav song Dream Road for some point. The “..crazy..” part in the end of the chorus strongly reminds me of C-ute’s “Crazy Kanzen na Otona” song. Overall, the song is both modern and nostalgic, in a way a mix of new sound and the typical Juice=Juice sound. The intro and verses are modern, while the chorus and some sections of the song were so old school and latin. I really like how everything were arranged altogether. Its like a mix of everything. Really nice.

I really like how the lines were distributed. Everyone seems to get enough spotlight, though I am amazed they chose Yanamin as center for this song. I always see Nanamin as the cutesy upright girl from Country Girls, but now, she is taking the center spot for a daring single. Damn.

  Naite Ii yo

From the title itself, this song must be a tearjerker. Oooohhhhh…this song is quite uplifting. The lyrics definitely hits home. The melody is easy to listen to. The verses is a bit bare, especially the first verse then the song builds up in the chorus. For some point the instrumental of the song reminds me alot of Morning Musume.’17’s “Gosenfu no Tasuki” from last year. I really really the breakdown section before the coda, its so nice to hear. Though at first, I’m abit iffy with the arrangement, I was able to warm up to it, after all I really like how the 2nd half of the song sounded.

I really like that I could hear loud and clear the voices of the members, definitely, there is no weakest member in the gorup in terms of vocals. Damn.

  Vivid Midnight

Ooohoohhohohoho. I didn’t expect this song to be this good. This song is so KPOP. Hahahahaah, at the same time, its so JPOP. This is so weird.

I really really like how fun and bright this song is. I am not always a fan of this kind of songs of Juice=Juice cuz I find them abit boring. But this one, this one is really different. I can’t really pinpoint much who the hell is singing cuz I’m enjoying listening to the song too much. LOL. The instrumentals in the background definitely is the star of this song. You can hear random sounds that unexpectedly fits well with the song. Uuuggghhhh…why is this so good?!?!?! The vocals, well, of course they are on point. Though I am a bit worried that the adlibs near the end might be oversang by the members. Other than that, I’m so into this song.

The vocals, the arrangement, the lyrics, oh my its so good.

  OOHH YES!! This single is sooooooooo SOLID. Its been awhile since I have encountered a single were all the songs are top tier. I can’t believe I am actually liking this new Juice=Juice. Their new music is so my jam, I can’t stop listening to them. Oh booiiii…I think I am falling for them. THIS IS BAD!!
