my vision for movie!pixal (shes basically just a lyla spiderverse reference)

shes both a robot and a hologram but she mostly uses the hologram bc it’s more convenient for communication. she’s more carefree and silly than series pixal but she gets the job done!

pixal and her relations w/ the ninja!

so bc the movie is like glacierpocalypse i decided to be self indulgent and make hotwire a thing since i kinda shipped them when i first watched rebooted (though i like to call them firewall)

aside from that she’s best friends w/ nya, she usually repairs and builds her new motorcycles whenever she crashes into school property. the worst case was when nya accidentally rode out the window from the 4th floor.

she’s also best friends with zane and obviously have that robot bond even if zane would try to deny his robotisms. they gossip in morse code and binary in front of everyone else so noone understands them

i love movie cole hes too silly and him and pixal are good friends, they often hang out together and thinking of their dynamic makes me want more cole-pixal stuff in the actual show

she makes fun of jay like everyone else but in the end she believes he just needs a boost of morale and a touch of reality. he will nerd out over things with her and hack security systems together

shes more forgiving and nicer to lloyd than she is with the other ninja and really wishes the best for him. shes happy to help him with whatever and sends computer viruses to his anyone who looks at him funny

Mermaid samurai (bet you didn't expect that) + doodles. Also this is my version of human Pixal.

Details of the AU under the cut:

The AU is set years ago in the era of pirates and there are sirens (I know I said mermaids but they're actually sirens). Cole, Jay, Zane and Pixal (Zane and Pixal are humans) are pirates; Kai and Nya are sirens and Lloyd is a hybrid.

First off, sirens. Sirens are predators who decieve and hunt humans using their melodic voice and appereance. Sometimes they eat the humans they've hunt down but most of the times they eat other fish. To decieve humans they can change the upper part of their bodies to look human; all sirens are intersex (each one with more masculine or feminine traits) so they can change into both male and female humans (Kai is usually a man and Nya a woman but they sometimes change). Sirens can form groups or hunt alone. Kai and Nya lost their parents when they were little and have been on their own since then, barely having any contact with other sirens. Most sirens have blue to green characteristics but sometimes there are ones with other colors like Kai; that's usually a disadvantage since it atracts other predators.

Kai doesn't like humans at all and usually fights other sea creatures (like sharks). He doesn't like deep waters either.

On the other hand, Nya is interested in humans, mostly their inventions and is really curious. Unlike Kai, she does like really deep waters. They're both very protective to each other and Lloyd.

Then, Zane and Pixal had an arranged wedding they didn't like (Gay and lesbian solidarity) so they decided to run away and join the pirates, the ones of the Destiny's bounty.

Cole is a member of the pirates and became one to find a treasure and get money for his village. He often feels bad because he couldn't afford his mother's medicine and he blames himself for her death.

Jay has been a pirate for the longest time. At first he just wanted the adventure but then he kind of regreted his decision (until he bonds with everyone). He's really skilled.

The captain of the Bounty is... an asshole so... mutiny(?) , eventually Cole will be the captain (because he is a good leader) and Jay the second in command.

As for Lloyd, he is a hybrid: Misako is human and Garmadon a siren. Wu and Garmadon are considered mythical creatures so Lloyd is basically unique. He lives in a small house next to the sea after Misako passed away. When he was a kid he had an encounter with Kai and Nya and, after a while, they became friends. Now Kai and Nya have adopted him as their little brother and go visit often. Lloyd treats their wounds as well as other sea creatures, he's a healer (vet?). Eventually he'll go with the Bounty's crew.

As for ships obviously plasma and samurai but also glacier.

Feel free to ask any questions about the AU and send ideas for drawings (though I can't promise to answer/draw everything).

Ninjago - Elemental Ninjas (+ Pixal) Reacting to Your Outfit in Prime Empire

Jay

With the help of one of the many "Jays," you eventually ended up in Jay's club

When he appeared on stage, he immediately noticed you

"Y/N!!!"

He leapt off the stage and ran over to you, stopping a few feet away so that he could look you over

"AAAH you look so cool!!!! And I thought my outfit was nice! Gah, I wish I had thought of something like that!"

You laughed, assuring him that his outfit was also very stylish

He ignored you, walking around you in a circle and fangirling over every little detail

You literally had to tell him to stop, he would not be quiet about how good your outfit was

Cole

You were looking yourself over, pretty satisfied with your choices of clothing

You noticed that you weren't the only one staring at your outfit

Cole was standing a little ways away

He was watching you intently, almost gaping at you

You felt your face heat up a little

Your satisfaction with your choices was suddenly waning

Feeling a little insecure, you asked:

"What?"

Cole just smiled, meeting your eyes with his own, filled with admiration

"Nothing. Just thinking of how lucky I am. And how good-lookin' you are."

You snorted, smiling back at him with your confidence restored

Kai

The first thing you heard when you stepped out into the open with your new outfit was a whistle

Worried for a second that it was some stranger being a creep, you whirled around ready to slap someone

But it was just Kai, watching you with his arms crossed as he leaned against a wall

"Nice threads."

You breathed a sigh of relief, making your way over to him to give him a light punch on the arm

He laughed, wrapping an arm around your shoulders

"No, seriously. You look super cool."

"Not so bad yourself."

He smirked, pressing a kiss to your cheek

Zane

Zane isn't really one for appearances; he doesn't really care what people look like

But he can still recognize when someone looks nice

Like you, when you emerged in your in-game outfit

You approached him with a proud grin on your face

You looked great, and it made him happy that you were confident

He gave a smile in return

It was one of his sweet, genuine smiles that you adored so much

He took both your hands in his as he said:

"I like your outfit. It suits you."

Lloyd

Lloyd was looking around, surveying the unfamiliar landscape

He was caught off guard when he noticed you walking towards him, wearing a rather flattering outfit

He felt his cheeks heat up instantly

He floundered when you stopped in front of him; his mind was totally blank

You raised an eyebrow, smirking as he stared

Realizing he was being rude, he fumbled to say something

"You, uh... You look nice."

He smiled awkwardly, hoping his face wasn't as red as it felt

You just chuckled, treasuring his reaction

Nya

Nya perked up as you approached her, already smiling at the mere sight of you

Her eyes widened when she noticed your outfit

She brought a hand to cup her cheek endearingly

She stared for a moment, cheeks turning rosy as she returned her gaze to your face

There was a twinkle in her eye as she said:

"Well, don't you look nice!"

She took your hand in hers as she showed you off to the others

"Guys, look at y/n! Don't they look cool?"

Pixal

Kind of like Zane, she doesn't care for appearances

She's more focused on functionality when it comes to clothing

So when you approach her in your new outfit, the first thing she does is overanalyze it

She walks around you in a circle, pointing and tugging at different parts

She's lowkey critiquing you 💀

"This will be good in allowing you to move freely. This part is too loose; it might get caught on something. You'll have to be careful."

She's doing it because she loves you, I promise

She just wants you to be as efficient and safe as you can be!

Zane x Pixal: they are soulmates and no one can say otherwise.

Kai x Skylor: the two of them balance each other well, plus seeing Kai get all lovey-dovey around Skylor is just cute.

Lloyd x Akita: Akita likes Lloyd for himself and isn’t interested in his status as the Green Ninja, she just might be the one person he could be with without having to worry about keeping up appearances.

Cole x Vania: they’re just great together (as lovers or as friends), their dynamic is sweet and both admire and encourage each other with just simple honest words.

Fun fact, I used to hate Jaya. I thought it was really forced in the canon, and Jay's really obsessive behavior that is the catalyst for all of the events in Skybound always really bothered me? But tumblr has completely turned me around on this ship. They have their moments in canon, but in fanon they're really wonderful. thanks tumblr <3

these two...... 🥺they are really good i will admit. I'm a big fan of glaciershipping myself and I tend to prefer it over pixane, but these two are so lovely to each other and i totally see the appeal. I just wish pixal wasn't so sidelined in the canon fr what were they doing with her character??? let her be around more often let her and zane be sweet together. please smh

SKYLOR ALSO HAS NOTHING TO DO MOST OF THE TIME-- honestly this show sidelines like all of its female characters so hard. but these two are great toooo theyre sweeeet 😊 i just wish skylor was used for more than cameos. i like that she's the only one that can consistently shake kai's ego it's a great dynamic

lloyd and akita!! i'm gonna be so real with you guys i forget about akita so often ;v; which is a shame... i give her the award for most sidelined female character because she existed for half a season. but she and lloyd are sweet! I don't tend to ship lloyd with anyone personally, but i do love that they meet under the circumstances of "lloyd is in a world where his name and status mean nothing so he has no pressure to perform". it's a fantastic break for him. holy shit he deserves it

im gonna be so honest with all of you um. i actually. havent seen MotM yet. i was in the middle of my rewatch, and i got up to the point i stopped, right before MotM, and then Netflix changed their watch policies. and then of course i got busy

but from what i've seen of these two in fanon they seem alright! I usually prefer them in other wlw or mlm ships because of ONE ninjago vine compliation thing i saw with the two of them as this one tiktok and i've never been able to think of them as a couple since then. But they seem like they have a lovely friendship, whether that ends up turning to romance or not!

lloyd hcs? i wanna hear them ALL

Oh boyyyy here we go. I think my LONG Lloyd headcanon post is still one of my top posts, so you can check that out there. I already know this is gonna take a while, so strap in. Dunno if I'll get to all of them or not because I still need content for the future, though.

He's a hungry kid. Always hungry. They don't know if he's having some belated puberty thing where he's hungry 24/7 365 or if it's just his heritage, but he's just. Starving. He gets shy about it, though, even when he knows that his friends would never belittle him because of it. He'll just shyly and slowly push his plate towards Zane and look at him with his big puppy eyes and a pout and Zane can do nothing but give him what he wants (you're spoiling him, Zane. - What would you do in that situation, Cole? He looked horribly pathetic, and I couldn’t do anything but give him another slice of pie.)

He is either chronically online or he has 0 knowledge of the internet. No in-between. For chronically online, his vocabulary mostly consists of tiktok references, and you can definitely hear Zane crying in the distance because he doesn't know what Lloyd is saying. For 0 knowledge of the internet, Jay and Kai make jokes and references to tiktok/reddit/Twitter/etc. and when Lloyd doesn't understand (and subsequently tilts his head like the adorable dragoni he is), you can hear Jay crying in the distance and the soft shushing voice from Nya as she tries to calm him down.

He will steal all shiny things. Shiny rock on the ground? Yoink. Jay left a particularly sparkly bolt on his desk? Well, it's Lloyd's now. Loose change on the counter? He'll take the shiny ones, thanks. He doesn't use the money. He just owns it. When Garmadon came back and saw his stash of sparkly things, he was like, "Ah, so you did inherit some of my genetics. I was getting a bit worried."

Contrary to popular belief, he doesn't own many plushies. Just one. It's a little stuffed tiger with half-off eyes and practically tearing at the seams. Kai won it in a claw machine for him back when he was a kid, and he will not part with it nor have any alterations to it no matter what. It's his and it has survived all the fires in the monastery, the crashes of the bounty, and the angry throws at the wall when Lloyd is mad (he immediately picks it back up and cries for throwing it). He remembers each mark, each missing patch of fur, every scratch on it stupid beaded eyes, and he treasures it. Because his brother got it for him.

He bought Jay a Hatsune Miku body pillow.

He's not a very good gift-giver, actually. If it was December, and he was tasked with some white elephant something he would perish at the spot. So, to combat that, he buys trinkets and things that remind him of his friends or things that he thinks that they'd like, and during the holiday or birthday, all he has to do is stuff it in a bag and put a bow on it. During the missions where they miss the holiday/birthday or if they're not close to his stash of presents, he gets really upset because he can't show them how much he loves them because nothing nothing can compare to the year of scouring shops and finding that cute little spoon engraved with Zane's initials that he found in a thrift store.

More of the gift giving: he's bad at showing affection or just verbally saying that he loves his friends, so he does the neurodivergent thing of just. Giving them pretty rocks or, like, soda tabs. Cole was horribly touched by the rocks, and now he has a shelf full of Lloyd rocks. Sometimes, to calm down, Lloyd and Cole paint the rocks. There's a cute collection of ninja look-alike rocks sitting next to their photos. When Lloyd was younger and everyone started gunning for his affection, Kai got a bunch of jars and wrote everyone's names on them. The person with the most soda tabs by the end of the year would have won the "Lloyd's favorite" award. The thing is, though, they never stopped doing it. When Pixal joined the crew, she was surprised to find herself a jar with her name on it with a purple soda tab.

Speaking of Pixal- a little after she joined, she realized that Lloyd had not finished school. When she had asked about it, she was told Wu was teaching him. She searched more to find out exactly what he was being taught. Lo and behold, it was exclusively ninja things or ancient, ancient history. And much to Lloyd's annoyance, she immediately stormed up to him and got him learning some algebra. She was not going to let him live his life without schooling. When she realized that he was having a lot of trouble with high school mathematics (because she had assumed that he was in the highschool age), she slyly went lower and lower in the education scale just to see where he left off. She was horrified to find he had not exceeded 5th grade math. No more than 5 minutes after his daily lesson, all of them (save Lloyd) had a nice, long conversation about his age and his schooling. She made it her life duty that Lloyd became one of the smartest gosh darned people in Ninjago.

On a lighter note, Jay and Nya sometimes have robot battles for fun. But. Not aggressive or combat related. They make robots do silly tasks like planting a flower or making a sandwich. They always make Lloyd judge who did it better because he has 0 clue the mechanics behind it, and he doesn't pick favorites. (Even if he's not trying to be his father anymore, he loves stirring up chaos by making each of them never truly beat each other by a lot)

He had a lisp as a kid. He didn't know it at the time, but it was because his mouth was unfamiliar with his sharp teeth. It makes him speak funny. For a while, he just didn't speak at all because he was embarrassed when the other darkleys kids made fun of him. He toughened out, though, and sat in his room, reading out loud to himself (occasionally with his kind roommate and friend Brad helping him) to correct his speech. To this day, he sometimes messes up words because he doesn't have proper speech therapy. But it's just another cute Lloyd thing to the team.

Summary: Someone's getting a little to flirty with their girl Characters: Lloyd Garmadon, Cole Brookstone, Nya Smith, Kai Smith, Jay Walker

Lloyd Garmadon

He always had this fear in the back of his mind that you would leave him for someone better, so when he saw someone trying to hit on you he couldn't help the fear growing in his chest and this other icky feeling

You deserve the best and he would give it to you, even if it means letting you go

Thought when it seems you're getting annoyed, he decides that he should step in

"Hey, why are you bothering my girlfriend?"

"Oh girlfriend? I didn't know you were dating that Garmadon kid"

"I'm not a kid," he stood infront of you protectively now because he didn't want them getting violent with you because it seemed they were getting aggravated

"I would have told you if you would have let me talk-"

"Yeah if I wanted to listen to you talk, I would of"

He glared at them, about to say something, but you end up grabbing Lloyd

^"It's not worth it Lloyd. Let's just go"

Cole Brookstone

He's one cocky man, so I doubt he'd allow someone to flirt with his girlfriend

In fact he won't even notice that someone's floating with his girlfriend, because how could anyone be stupid enough to flirt with his girlfriend

But when he did look for you because he wanted to Jay to tell you some stupid joke, he was surprised to see some guy leaning on the wall trying to get close to you

At first he shook it off because there's no way he saw what he thinks he's seeing

He'll walk over to you, wrap an arm around your shoulder, "Who's your friend babe?"

"Babe?"

"Oh yeah, this is my boyfriend I was telling you about. Though you weren't listening"

"Yeah whatever, I have to go anyway-"

Cole tightened his grip around you, while you squeezed out

"Okay Cole, he's gone, you can let go-"

"I'm never letting go baby"

Nya Smith

That good old Smith aggression runs through her blood

Her jealousy knows no bounds and she'll be very passive-aggressive to whoever's flirting with you

"Oh really? I couldn't tell with all that gunk on your face, but I'm so glad you're confident in yourself. I wish I had your confidence"

"Nya, that wasn't very nice!"

"Neither is flirting with a taken person"

The flirter will row there eyes and walk away, but not before responding, "Yeah, well I can do better anyway"

"You wish!"

Kai Smith

That good old Smith aggression runs through his blood

He will start throwing hands I can feel it

You'll have to hold him back, because if not, he's going Ninja on them

You'll apologize while walking off with him

"Who did they think they were? Talking to you as if they're dating you? Why didn't you stop them?"

Great, now he's turned on you

"I would of if you gave me a chance"

He doesn't want to hear it and ends up ignoring you, much to YOUR annoyance

You'll have to apologize to him, even though you did nothing wrong, but he doesn't care

Jay Walker

He has abandonment issues, so with some guy hitting on you he felt sad

He did have an even icker feeling of possession over you because you're HIS girlfriend and you should be loyal to your significant other

Instead of coming off aggressive, he'll enter the conversation with a joke

No one even knows he's jealous, they just think he's having a good time

Until he starts laughing a little too much and his smile doesn't seem all that friendly

You can get the hint even from a mile away

Though the person who was previously flirting with you can't say anything bad, because they'll look like the bad guy

His hold will tighten around you and you could feel him practically squeeze your waist

Post Series Jaya Doodles and Headcanons!🌊⚡🌊⚡🌊⚡🌊⚡🌊⚡🌊⚡🌊⚡🌊⚡ (Bonus Next Gen Headcannons!👀)

Happy Valentine's Day everyone! 😁💖 I worked really hard on this. So I hope you all enjoy! Headcanons are below the cut! - ✒️🐉

1) They have a HUGE wedding. Many friends and Family come. And I headcannon that Jay has a very big extended family so that's a lot!🤣

2) They move into the old lighthouse and fix it up/fortify it. It eventually becomes a small rest stop for ships.

3) Nya runs a mechanics shop for boats and water craft there. And Jay has a shop to sell salvage, drift wood, and knickknacks. He also does a little inventing on the side. Although it doesn't usually end well. Lol. Name ideas for their shops would be appreciated!

4) They have a LOT of kids. Five to be exact. Ray, Maya, Ed, and Edna are very proud grandparents. The kids are, in order from youngest to oldest, Piper, Ren, Wynn, Raine, and Poe. Currently I only have a design for Poe. (Seen above.) But the rest are coming. I can assure you. I'll provide some descriptions in the meantime!

Poe: Pictured above! He's very calm and charismatic. And while he's a good fighter and pirate hunter, he enjoys quieter hobbies such as painting. His main weapon is a harpoon.

Raine: Very light skinned. With curly silver hair. (Her hair color is caused by her unique elemental power, Storm!⛈️) She's a little in the small side. But still sturdy and a real fighter. She's a tough cookie! Raine eventually becomes part of the Next Gen Ninjas.

Wynn: Light skinned, with black curly hair. Always wearing a pair of flight goggles. (He's an inventor like Ed and Edna.) Eternally curious and questioning.

Ren: He's got red hair like Jay, and tan complexion like his mom. Ren's got an explorer streak and loves charting new islands. He plans to sail to the other side of Ninjago's oceans someday. He's almost never seen without Wynn. The two are inseparable.

Piper: The baby of the family! She has blonde hair like Libber. She may be little. But she's brave. Not too much on her currently. But she will have a bigger role to play in the future.

5) Cole LOVES their kids. And is very protective of them. (Like "would give his life for them" kind of protective.) He practically treats them as though they were his own. He's their bestest uncle, besides Kai.

6) Raine has a mix of both Nya and Jay's element. She's the master of Storm. She's the first case of a merged element in Ninjago history. And when she was young, it was VERY unstable. Raising a super powered baby was NOT easy.

7) They are pirate hunters. For reasons...🧞‍♂️ Anyway! Their family is known for keeping the coasts of Ninjago safe and sound. Especially their oldest boy Poe, who's shaping up to be a great pirate hunter.

8) They own a flying ship! They needed a way to get to shore fast and since they didn't have the Bounty, Nya and Jay just built one of their own. It's smaller but just the right size for them. And it's called the Storm Rider. It's even got cannons for taking down pirate ships!

(P.S. Two quick things! One, these headcanons are related to a fanseason I'm working on called Ninjago: New Genesis. So that's why they don't line up with Dragons Rising. And two, yes. I noticed Poe's eyes are miscolored in one pic. They're supposed to be brown. I didn't notice until after I finished.😂)

Jay Dragons Rising Update

ok low effort post but you guys have seen the new information about season 2 of dragons rising right? About cole and jay?

about how jay is working for a "mysterious agency" and how he lost all his memories of the ninja? well consider, (as i think most of the fandom is considering), jay being apart of the imperium. Somehow they found him, wiped his memory, and is either using him for power like they did the dragons (bc elemental power is dragon power) OR using him as a guard dog. And since his memory is wiped, i think a fight scene between him and the ninja is inevitable, which would be amazing. because the thing is, we know that the ninja significantly lessen their powers when they fight. Since when they lose that morality, hence Zane as the Ice Emperor, they use their powers to the full extent. AKA Zane literally freezing and taking over a realm with his powers. So consider, Jay as a villain actually being dangerous because his lightning isn't just a stun gun anymore.

Now track my logic here. A fight scene between him and the ninja but its actually hard for them to fight him. Not only because he's their friend, but because he's a lot more powerful than they thought he was. And crueller. Just like Zane was. And if Cole comes back, him and Nya having to face jay especially would be so so emotional. I like Nya and Jay and all but I really do hope the creators add to his and Cole's relationship if this theory comes to actuality. Like Nya trying and failing to get Jay to remember them and then Cole coming in and talking and Jay remembering. Or even Zane. Because it was those three originally, those three were together the longest. Cole knew Jay way before Nya did. my Ninjago headcanons!!!!

Kai

• Is TikTok famous. He likes to put his camera in everyone’s face while they do normal everday things then says “ooh this is perfect, everyone will love this!!” and then everyone does love it.

• Spends most of his time trying to annoy his teammates. He finds it funny how easily Nya gets ticked off, so he annoys her most often. ex) going into her room and just singing really loud.

• Thinks Tarayummy is his soulmate. He sits in his room in the dark and just watches her videos. He has a hatred for every man she has ever talked to.

Nya

• Says she hates dressing up/wearing dresses, but at night she secretly puts on pretty ball gowns she hides in boxes in her closet. (I do this)

• Loves art, but she mostly paints. She picked it up after seeing the paintings Jay did after seabound. He taught her a lot of it.

• Anytime she sees a friend or someone she knows out in public she has to talk to them. It’s like when you were little and your mom/dad saw someone at the store and they just had to talk to them forever. She does that.

Zane

• There’s a desk in his room with the most random junk on it. He doesn’t even know where most of it came from. This junk varies from model airplanes to defused pipe bombs.

• He’ll give himself weird accents sometimes. If he’s bored he will just put on a new accent and talk to the others to see their reactions. One time he did a Russian accent that scared Jay so much he peed his pants.

• He could watch those videos of dancing fruit for hours. He just loves brain rot, and that’s okay because it keeps him busy.

Cole

• Religiously watches edits of himself of TikTok. Once he accidentally reposted one and everyone lost their mind.

• Thinks Halo by Beyoncé is the greatest song ever written. It’s the only song he will sing in front of other people and he will put his whole heart and soul into it every time.

• Likes to skateboard, but doesn’t have enough time. He thought it would be a fun hobby to pick up before he was a ninja and actually got really good at it. He isn’t as good now, but he can still do some tricks.

Jay

• This man is so zesty oh my god. Everyone in Ninjago thought he was gay until he got together with Nya. There are still people who think it’s all just an act to cover it up.

• If this guy sees a river he is getting in. It doesn’t matter if it’s 10 or 80 degrees, this man is ready to jump in any river he sees. He tries to get everyone else to join, but they aren’t as stupid (except Cole who obviously has to join him)

•Watches Instagram reels instead of TikTok. He thinks they’re funnier, and Kai thinks that it’s the funniest thing in the world and never shuts up about it.

Lloyd

• A lot of people think this, but I think that he bleach’s his hair. He doesn’t want to look anything like his dad, and he thinks his dark hair makes him look evil.

• Also likes art, but mostly draws. He likes to do art with Nya, but picked it up when he was younger. He used to make his own comic books about the ninja in S1.

• Wants to be a theater kid so bad, but he has to focus on his ninja work. He’s made everyone watch Hamilton at least 5 times (so far).

man I'm rewatching skybound (help) to focus on the misfortune crew so here's a kinda long ramble about Flintlocke and Nadakhan friendship below

the way Flintlocke's voice shakes when he says to Nadakhan he's doing a mutiny. when he says "stay right there"

I know it's most likely from fear, but I wouldn't be surprised if this was out of a broken heart too like- it's his captain. one he has most likely spent years at sea with. the one he'd trust with his life, and must've done so. most likely his best friend. AUGH

And how Nadakhan reacts to it, too! he gets angry, he doesn't believe what he's hearing! how dare they not trust him? (gee I wonder why)How is Flintlocke daring him to change things around?

Can you imagine watching someone you care about diving into some kind of infinite madness, and you not able to do shit about it? And it's not like Flintlocke could help much. Since yknow Nadakhan just lost all his people in a single moment after spending 300 years inside a teapot, and after losing the one he loves, too. And he sees something is wrong the moment he sees Nya. He knows Nadakhan too well, and I take it he's used to the captain sharing plans with them if he's already hella suspicious when Nadakhan doesn't tell him what he has in mind when coming back from Djinjago

And he's not the only one; like the whole 'close' crew (as I like to call them) notices how their captain is kinda getting distant? and losing it

But like what are you supposed to do about that? especially since they're pirates, and the captain has to be kind of scary if he still wants to handle psychopaths under an iron grip of some sort

And they were ready to trust him. To the end, I guess.

fuck! Nadakhan just ruined all that was left to him during skybound, didn't he? what a fucking idiot.

And Jay was this close to do the same with his own friends huh (NOT TO THAT EXTENT GUYS COME ON-)

I just love to think of parallels between Jay and Nadakhan. Cole and Flintlocke. The obvious (? I'm not really sure about this one) but awfully made Delara Nya one (not saying I made a good one in my fic either but eh)

But they're pirates. They're not good people, and Nadakhan is a fucking bitch. You have on one side how Arrakore dealt with the loss, and on the other, Nadakhan's, who was probably so used to being a prince and stuff he just- ugh.

But that doesn't mean they don't have emotions, which I'm trying to write about

also I'm noting Clancee probably noted Nya resembling Delara when he gave Nadakhan the newspaper. But he didn't say anything. Hm. I'm keeping that in mind.

LETS GO rambling and analysis time now that I finished part one

MAJOR MAJOR spoilers under the cut

KAI

NOOOOO how is he gonna get out??? I will say him as the first to use rising dragon felt extremely deserved, I clapped and cheered during that fight scene. but now he’s stuck in the netherworld with the remaining forbidden five and that’s scary.

teared up seeing Nya activate her rising dragon style in her grief for him. in the next part she’s gonna find out Jay forgot who she is too… so much heartache for Nya 😞

really enjoyed Bonzle in these episodes as well, learning about her origin of being a spell, her journey of discovering herself as a person and finding a found family :’) at least she’s with Kai now….

and I’ve felt terrible for Lloyd every episode. him getting slammed by those visions constantly, unexpectedly, even in the middle of a fight which sends him spiraling, that’s so rough :((

It’s obvious they’re a representation of panic attacks/he has developed a canon panic disorder- like Lloyd literally says it at one point. they happen suddenly, give anxious fear about present and future events, he gets scared about having another one so he tries to cope by not sleeping (unhealthy coping method) and is taught later on to try accepting the feelings and ride it out which is a way irl therapists teach. good to see some more exploration of mental health in this show!! I’m glad the other characters are taking notice and trying to help too in the ways they can

speaking of mental health, Arin has been interesting to watch. he’s reading to me more as an autistic-coded character lately (like that line about not understanding social cues???) and we’ve been seeing lots more negative self-esteem issues and insecurity from him. watching him make mistakes during the training sessions, get scolded, then close himself off was hard to listen to

how Sora decided to hide the truth about Arin’s “spinjitzu move” that saved the day at the end so he would feel proud of himself for achieving something hurt my heart- she is such a sweet friend who wants her bestie to be happy but like. keeping secrets is gonna have consequences down the line... and moreso it’s just painful to see how deeply Arin’s self-worth is tied to what he’s capable of doing, what he can do for the team. he’s already insecure how would he feel to find out ppl are lying so he can be happy? he’s a string that’s gonna snap one day and judging from that beatdown moment with Lord Ras it’s not going to be pretty, I sense some sort of villain arc approaching for our son

in another news: Cole and Geo gay love! homosexuals! maybe a QPR! I don’t care whatever it is, it’s clear they love each other

it wouldn’t be a ninjago season without the destiny’s bounty crashing and burning <333 and it was nice seeing Jay for 10 seconds again <3333

You stepped away for a moment to refill your drink, and Kai managed to get himself in an argument with another customer while you were gone

To be fair, the other guy initiated it

He recognized the famous ninja and decided to be a degenerate

He was talking down to Kai pretty harshly, and Kai was struggling to defend his honor

It was getting more and more difficult to come up with comebacks as his anger rose and his pride deflated

You just about dropped your drink when you came back to see the two going at it

You stepped in immediately, barely stopping to think

"This your boyfriend? Way out of your league, fire boy-"

"Sorry, do we know you? I think I'd remember a stench like that—yeesh, by the way—but it'd be impolite not to at least ask."

Both Kai and his assailant's jaws dropped open

The guy turned bright red with anger, trying to stutter out a response before giving up with a frustrated grunt and storming off

You watched him leave, scowling bitterly

When he was finally gone, you turned to Kai to check on him

You expected him to be upset, but he was smiling

"Are you okay, Kai?"

"Am I okay? Are you kidding? That was awesome! Did you see his face?"

You blushed a little, joining in his hysterical laughter

Kai wrapped an arm around your shoulder and pulled you in to kiss your cheek, telling you how lucky he felt to have someone like you on his side

Jay

Jay had just finished fixing up a vintage motorcycle, a project he'd been working on for a long time

You didn't really trust the janky contraption; no matter how much Jay insisted that it was safe, you swore it looked like it was about to collapse

But you hated to stomp on his sandcastle, so you just watched while he poured gas into the tank for a test drive

Tapping your foot nervously, you decided that you couldn't just stand there

You wandered around the garage, gathering protective gear

You had a helmet, some shin guards, elbow pads, and a biking jacket when you approached Jay

He glanced at you once, then did a double-take when he saw what was in your arms

"Y/n, I am not wearing all that."

"And I am not letting you ride that timebomb without any protection."

Seeing that firm look in your eyes (which he not-so-secretly loved), Jay knew there was no winning

Though he'd never admit it, he actually liked when you were stern, even when it was directed at him

He sighed, letting you put the gear on him

You felt a lot better, but you still insisted on following behind on your own motorbike

As it turned out, you were right; you got about 100 feet out of the garage before the old bike's tire went flying, sending Jay straight to the asphalt

You ran to Jay's side, letting your own bike fall in your haste

He just smiled awkwardly up at you

"Uh... oops? Good thing you made me wear the gear, haha..."

You laughed, kissing the top of his head; you were just glad he was safe

And he was glad that you, like always, were looking out for him :)

Cole

This was way back when Cole still had a rough relationship with his dad

You managed to convince him to let you meet his father, though you could tell that he wasn't exactly excited

But you made sure to let him know how much you appreciated it

At first, you didn't see the problem

His dad seemed totally cordial and pleasant, if not a little rigid

The issue presented itself pretty quickly, however

You were sitting on the couch, catching up and getting to know each other

Cole was being weirdly cagey about his own life, so his father took the lead in the conversation

"You know, Cole used to be a really good dancer. Of course, there was a lot of room for improvement, haha! Oh, you should've seen his tumbling skills... the boy could hardly land a cartwheel."

You didn't like the way he was looking at Cole when he said it; you knew you had to do something, but you still wanted to respect Cole's privacy

"You don't know what you're talking about. Cole does flips, backflips, twists, turns—you should see him now."

Cole blinked at you, as did his father

The latter tried to laugh it off awkwardly, making some vague comment about Cole's continuance in dancing school

But, quite frankly, you'd seen enough

You ended the visit as politely as you could

Cole was still staring at you as you walked away

"What? I didn't like how he was talking about you, so I retaliated. Was that so wrong?"

Cole just smiled, draping an arm around you with a satisfied sigh

"No, it was actually kind of funny. And brave. I'm glad you said it."

He was more than glad; no way he would've stood up for himself in front of his father, so he was grateful that you were there

Zane

You guys were on a mission in an extremely remote town

The place barely had street lamps; needless to say, it was far from technologically advanced

You made a pit-stop for snacks at a run down little convenience store

You walked in first, looking ahead at the handful of aisles filled with dusty (probably expired) snacks you didn't recognize

You almost didn't notice the man at the counter by the door, but he spoke up rather loudly

He pointed to Zane, who was following close behind you

He said something about not serving "his kind"

That almost did it for you, but you decided to give him the benefit of the doubt

"What do you mean 'his kind'?"

"Robots, buddy. Beep-boops. You know, the things with no souls that take over every town and household they come into? Not. Welcome. Here."

You turned to face him, your expression hardening

Zane tried to stop you, insisting that he could just wait outside

"They're smart, I'll give 'em that. Say, while you're at it, why don't you go back to whatever evil over-industrialized decrepit city you came from!"

"Okay, that's it. I'm not going to stand here and let you insult a person who's got ten times more intellect and twenty times more soul than you'll ever have. Come on, Zane, our business is clearly not wanted here."

You held up the cash for him to see as you left, and the man behind the counter opened his mouth to try and get you to stay

Zane let you cool off a little, following silently while you stormed down the street

When you finally calmed down enough to ask if he was okay, he told you that he was just proud that you handled the situation civilly

He doesn't like violence, so he particularly admired your gentleness (he knew you could've been a lot meaner, and he's glad you weren't)

And that, though he hadn't really been offended, he found it endearing that you stood up for him

He squeezed your hand affectionately as you both continued down the dusty sidewalk

Lloyd

It was almost impossible to go anywhere with Lloyd without being stopped by a fan

You'd grown used to it; if anything, you were happy that so many people appreciated Lloyd

So you'd stand on the sidelines, smiling patiently while they got a photo and an autograph

But every now and again you'd get stopped by someone who wasn't a fan

You were just out for a walk when one such person stopped you

Actually, it was a group of men, hatred twinkling in their eyes

They came so close that the one at the front was just about nose-to-nose with Lloyd

"You think you're all that, huh? Just because you've got some fancy powers and you've 'saved the city,' you think you're so much better than everyone else?"

"Uh... no?"

"Tch, sure, play dumb. I miss the days when the police would take care of us. You didn't see us parading cops down the street and selling action figures of them! That's because they were humble!"

The men behind him were nodding aggressively, shouting their agreement and praise for cops

Your face twitched distastefully, and you wedged yourself between the front man and Lloyd

"I'd speak a little more respectfully to the guy who saved you from the literal personification of evil. Multiple times, mind you."

The guy's eyes narrowed; he clearly hadn't expected any pushback

He scoffed, making sure to step on your toe as he turned to storm off

Lloyd grabbed your shoulder groundingly, giving you a look that begged you to let them go

He thanked you for your support though, sliding his hand down your arm to hold your hand

He never really knew how to deal with haters, so he truly did appreciate you stepping in

(and he's lowkey hoping you will in the future too...)

Cole Brookstone Headcannons

warnings: slight cussing? mentions of racial stereotypes/discrimination

General

He was the sexiest man alive 3 years in a row

He also dabbled in modeling

he didn't even try either, a modeling agent saw him and gave him a business card

Cole went to one interview, the next thing he knows he's walking down the runway with Bella Hadid

he's a thought son

does a lot of stuff on social platforms to spread awareness for racial discrimination, politics, and cancer reaserch

if they were to have BLM protests in Ninjago, he would throw tear gas back at cops

He has the BIGGEST resting bitch face ever

obviously he loves cake, but he loves brownies with caramel drizzle and a sprinkle of sea salt on top even more than he loves cake

he really loves Dolly Partons Carmel Turtle mix

He loves Dolly Parton in General

He only drinks water

He HATES those "make my water of the day with me" videos

like JUST DRINK WATER THROUGH OUT THE DAY!?! HELLO?!

Gossip/debrief sessions with Nya are a weekly occurrence

the reason Nya was so confused abt Jay vs Cole in season 3/4/5 is because of how close Nya and Cole already were

But after she stepped away from both of them and thought about her relationship with each of them, she realized Cole was like a sister to her

And I mean sister

She's never had a sister before but her relationship with Cole is exactly how she imagines sister relationships

Nya introduces him as her sister and he's chill with it

He works out with Kai

but unlike Kai, Cole LOVES rest days

he goes to yoga 3 or 4 times a week and is besties with his yoga instructor Andy

Andy and her girlfriend got married and he went to the wedding, that's how close they are

I feel like he's friends with a lot of lesbians

idk they just kinda gravitate towards him

Cole is 6'3

he's also black

he has snake bite piercings

his mom's favorite tree was a maple tree, so he got a maple leaf tattooed behind his right ear

his mom would always tuck his braids or dreads behind his right ear.

he also has a hand tattoo that looks something like this:

I'm not saying Ninjago has a lot of racial stereotypes or discrimination

but, when they see 6'3, muscular, tatted, pierced, black. resting bitch face Cole walking down the street people tend to label him as scary or dangerous

because of this he's always afraid of coming off as creepy or weird when he tries to talk to someone

Dating

His body is so large, solid, and muscular and it's perfect for hugs and cuddling

He doesn't care about cuddling position- if you guys are comfortable and can fall asleep, its perfect

his favorite place to kiss is your forehead and your shoulders

his love language is acts of service

"my room is too bright in the morning, even with my blinds shut" the next day he has blackout curtains installed

"I always hit my head on that one cabinet" idk how but thanks to his handy work you no longer bump your head on that cabinet

"I wish my kitchen had sodalite counters" You have sodalite counters now(the good thing is, it was mostly free too, he just used his earth powers to find enough sodalite for your counter)

You guys met when the ninjas went out to a restaurant to celebrate whatever victory they had just had

and because he's used to being stereotyped as scary or weird for the way he looks, when you approached him to ask for his number he was shocked and supprised

he was happy about it tho because he had been glancing at you the whole time the team was at the restaurant

You're first date? Mini golfing.

He's been thinking about the perfect first date FOR. YEARS.

why is mini golfing the perfect first date?

Public setting for both parties feeling safe

mini golfing is fun and fairly inexpensive

mini golfing provides plenty of time to talk and chat, but if an awkward moment arises there's something to do

done golfing and now we're hungry?

Cole has been planing a mini golfing first date for years, and just needed someone with the right energy to do it with

You guys meet in a cute romcomy way, have a cute romcomy first date, then you have some sort of romcomy problem, then work things out and live happily ever after

I feel like the romcomy problem wouldn't be very romcomy tho, maybe you guys met before he was a ghost, and him being a ghost was the problem you worked through?

he would keep 1 flower from every boquet he gives to you so he knows when the bouquet is dying, then he gets you fresh flowers

You always have fresh flowers from him, for the entirety of ur relationship

he's a thought son so you would stay up talking about what you guys want your future to look like

He's used to you waking him up in the middle of the night because he was snoring

He gives great advice, but before he gives it he asks if you want comfort or advice

he's also really good at comforting you

he just knows exactly how to make you feel safe and understood

you'd go to yoga with him, Andy and her girlfriend(now wife) would love you

if you guys did want kids, Cole would be the perfect dad

Physical touch is his 2nd love language, but he doesn't rlly like PDA

most touches in public are pinky or hand holding(he would do the thumb thing), putting his hand on the small of your back when going through crowds, maybe a peck on the temple here and there

but in private he can't get his hands off you

he just wants to touch you in any and every way possible

he's infatuated by you

he sends you tiktoks of an orange cat(him) and some other cat(color/type depending on ur personality) and says us

he sends you couple trends and says "we should do this"

"if I every won the lottery, oh wait, I already did" yeah. he did that, first 2 slides were him, and the other 30 were pics of you

"oh that's pretty, imma take a picture" yep.

he has life 360 with you

not in a weird way, obvi, in like a oh this fun way

You're like the parents of the team

Jay and Nya are the uncle and aunt

In another universe the four of you are drinking wine and talking about how annoying some coworkers have been recently

A completely unasked for Lloyd hc list

He never really grew out of his sweet tooth. He said he did because it was "too childish" and he's "all grown up now," but he still absolutely adores sweets. The ninja definitely found his hidden stash of candy under his bed and never said a word. (Cole or Zane may or may not ask Lloyd to help them bake cakes or cookies with them for this reason)

Lloyd also still loves starfarer comics. When he heard that Jay's dad was the Cliff Gordon, he FREAKED inside. He had bit of a starstruck moment with Jay for a little while after that.

Lloyd grew up with bright red eyes and fangs, and he was very proud of them because it made him look dark and scary and so much like his dad. He even got some evil points with his teachers at Darkley's because of these features. When he got taken by the ninja and started learning about how nice it feels to be a good person, he began resenting himself and how he looks. He asked Zane if he could get colored contacts one time--because he definitely needed a cool disguise, Zane! No one could know he was the terrible and evil Lloyd Garmadon!--and Zane immediately shut that down. The ninja had a nice long talk with him about his looks and how it meant nothing.

Lloyd is actually an excellent student. He learns quick and picks up on a lot of topics easily. For the heck of it, he sometimes gets sucked into weird conspiracy theories or topics. He's terrible at math, though. He would know how and the exact date Pastafarianism came to be, but could not solve for slope at all.

He picked up a lot of his hobbies from the ninja. It calms him down and keeps him grounded. Cole taught him how to draw, Zane taught him how to cook, Nya taught him how to build, Kai taught him how to hit the town, Jay taught him how to game, and Pixal taught him all things tech.

Cole 100% asks Lloyd to join him whenever he goes hiking. Lloyd would complain at first about how he's so busy, but he would secretly be grateful for the break and exercise. He gets antsy.

Lloyd always goes to Nya or Kai when he gets anxious or sad because they're basically his siblings. Sometimes he doesn't even talk. He just goes up to Kai when he's sitting on the couch, sits next to him, and leans his head on Kai's shoulder. They don't need words.

When he first joined the ninja, he basically ate his entire body weight (which wasn't much) in food every day because he was scared that the ninja would kick him out at any time and he didn't want that to happen to him when he had an empty stomach. The ninja thought it was just a silly Lloyd thing. He eventually realized he was there to stay and started eating normally. Later on, he joked about it and the ninja got worried™ and kept reassuring him for a month that he was wanted and he was here to stay. Lloyd already knew that by now, but he loved the attention.

He purrs. He hates it. It reminds him he isn't human. The ninja made light jokes about it when it first happened, and he cried. They don't mention it now.

Lloyd gets hit on often by people, but Harumi messed him up too much to trust them. One time, a girl talked to him often and Lloyd had thought that they were becoming good friends. Eventually, the girl had asked when Lloyd was going to ask her out. He felt betrayed and hurt and badbadbad, but played it off and actively made the choice to never see her again in case she was another person looking for revenge.

He misses Akita. He wishes that he could've brought her with him to Ninjago because he feels like she would never do anything bad to him. She knows too much and cares too much, even if she didn't show it. He knew.

He passes by Darkley's often just to see how his old classmates are doing. He never goes in. He never talks to them. Lloyd misses his friends at Darkley's, but he thinks that they would never click again because he's too different now. Too old. Too roughed up. Sometimes, Brad catches a glimpse of green and blond on a roof or something out of the corner of his eye and smiles wistfully. He knows it's Lloyd. He thinks Lloyd is too old to play catch with him or plant flowers in the garden. Brad thinks he's too young, too childish. They both wish for a better time, one where Lloyd could have stayed young. Unfortunately, fate has other things in store.

When he lost his powers and his green eyes, it took him a while to be able to look at himself in the mirror.

When the team has movie nights, Lloyd always always has to sit in the middle, smushed between his favorite people in the whole wide world.

He makes pillow forts. He has a sign that says "no bad guys allowed :(" and he always puts it up when he makes a fort.

He went to the children's hospital once when he was sad and a little girl had him play tea party with him for like half an hour. He forgot why he was sad, especially when Mr. Fluffybutt told him all of that juicy gossip about that terrible, awful Mrs. Lenard that teaches at the girl's school. How horrible!

He grew up without the words "love" in his vocabulary, so the ninja had to teach him. Lloyd found that he loved being loved. He loved the hugs and the sweet words and the kind gestures. It's still hard for him to say "I love you," though, so he settles for acts of service. When Lloyd is around, no one's teacup is ever empty.

He writes a secret blog about all the ninjas misadventures and the ninja have no idea who it's by so they're terrified someone is following them. When there was a photo of all of them cooking and laughing in their kitchen, they almost boarded up the monastery. Pixal knows. She helps him keep it secret by changing his ip and giving "logical" explanations for the photos and direct quotes. Lloyd has to turn away or leave the room when the topic is brought up. He can't help but laugh.

He gets upset when someone asks about his age because he'd feel weird if he told someone he just turned 9 last month but he's currently very tall and lanky and his voice dropped and it's all wrongwrongwrong, but he also doesn't know his body's age. He doesn't want to explain the situation either, though. When asked, he just says Nya's age of the time or a year below it.

The ninja celebrate his birthday and always make sure to decorate it for his correct age and give him the correct candles. He gets embarrassed, but he loves that they don't think he's strange for still wanting big fun bright balloons at his party and those little blower things. It's also mandatory to wear those tiny hat things. Jay didn't wear one and he was subjected to ice down the back of his shirt.
