people whos immediate first thought when feeding any animal anything is not “wait is that ok for them” scare me

#shut up green #not as in like im one of those ppl who freaks out at every cute animal post or whatever but like #in general ever since i was a kid ive understood 'some things that you would not think are extremely poisonous are extremely poisonous' #and meeting ppl who dont have that gut reaction is nervewracking #how can you grow up being told that CHOCOLATE or ONIONS could kill your dog and then think #'oh ok. im sure only those things are harmful and nothing else. i do not need to triple check before feeding an animal' #if a pet and a food are in the same room together i am frantically googling
