I found your theory on Jon's trauma interesting. I just also wanted to go further and talk about his anger as you mentioned and take an example that stood out to me about Jon in Superman Rebirth. The kid goes through some messed up stuff there too but thankfully children are resilient and has his parents are there for him to get through it. But looking at the events of an alien attack on Hamilton County, the crowd is outraged that Superman won't kill the alien after all the damage it caused, and Jon actually agrees and considers doing so (Clark then has a conversation with him about how all life is precious and they can't be the ones to choose who lives or dies). That consideration of delivering that kind of justice really was something (This is not to exclude he also has his mother's toughness and more merciless sense of justice but still). Not to mention the burst if anger he's had which have often let his powers go out of control. So I was surprised that they continued with that idea that Jon is afraid to use his powers but might I say he's more afraid of the anger and numbness he has. I might be meaning what I'm saying and I apologize for rambling but this something I would like to talk about.
oh as i always say never apologize for ranting about something ur passionate about
ur v right! ive been reflecting since my last post and i think i still have a point, but i also think u have a point and i think they are compatible
i think jon was written with lots of love as a child and tomasi really got the feeling of a kid who still is learning about morals, 10 year olds dont necessarily have a big theory behind their thoughts, they know killing is bad cause their parents told them but they are too small to reflect on the importance of life and loss of opportunity and grief or whatever
so basically i dont think lil jon was struggling with morals or anger as much as... he was extremely powerful and ten, BUT
he never could grow out of that! no one taught him better! he was in a volcano! so that childish anger and the weirdly lose morals never developed right and NOW are a problem, he doesnt know hetter, he just has his anger and his sense of justice and his hatred of bad people, but his morals are... simple
i dont have strong trauma cause it didnt register that it should be truamizing, i think ultraman killing is bad cause hes evil but damian is okay cause hes not evil, gray morals all in all

HEY! Use this ask to talk about your OC(s) :D
THANK YOU (。・ω・。)ノ♡ , I will take advantage of the ask to talk about Dominik's lore
I warn you, this is going to be very, veeeeeryyyy long.
🧪
- Dominik was born in some town in Germany, no one knew exactly who his biological father was (or they didn't want to tell him), only knowing that his father was American, so he grew up with his mother, "Talia", and his two older brothers, twins named "Cai" and "Abel".
- They belonged to an extremely religious family and community (Christian/Catholic type)
- Speaking of Dominik's older siblings, he was quite attached to them since the three were despised by the community, so they had each other, or more or less, Dominik was much more attached to Abel since Cain seemed to have inherited the mental instability of his mother, in fact, among the three Cain was the most marginalized, the others were afraid of him, they said that he killed small animals, he was aggressive and malicious, although he had his very strange way of worrying about his brothers.
- Abel was kinder and calmer, he took care of Dominik, he taught him to read, walk, write and speak (Cain also helped a little but it was mainly Abel), so Dominik loved him very much. Abel had to put Cain in his place due to his problematic behavior, so even though Cain and Abel were identical twins, they didn't get along at all.
- And Dominik's mother, Talia was a German woman who had her twins when she was a teenager and had Dominik sometime in her early 20s, Talia suffered from undiagnosed mental problems, many times she seemed disconnected with reality and said strange and shady things, she could become aggressive out of nowhere, she would have psychotic breaks or nervous breakdowns that were uncontrollable, this would get worse with her extreme religious fanaticism that ended up affecting her children, who in addition to paying the piper for their deranged mother had to endure her abuse.
- One morning, unexpectedly, Dominik's mother suffered a stroke and died, just like that, there were no last words or signs, just a vein in her brain burst and then Talia ceased to exist.
- This unexpected death definitely shocked the three brothers, so Abel and Cainhave a talk about what they would do now, they were 20 y/o at the time and Dominik was just 11, they quickly went from a conversation about expenses and taking care of Dominik got into a heated fight over Cain's behavior and how the three of them were outcasts in their town, so Abel wanted to leave, but Cain's anger blinded him and without thinking, Cain picked up a stone and hit Abel twice in the head with such force that he killed him, before Dominik's terrified gaze.
- Cain was taken to prison and Dominik to an orphanage/boarding school in the United States, which happened to be Christian, and although they were kinda weird, compared to the place where Dominik lived before, he was quite well, although at that time there was not much to emphasize in the first years, only that when he was a teenager he saw how the nuns, lowered their heads and obeyed before the priest, who achieved this through fear, that influence Dominik, who began to use fear on the childrens to get what he wanted, they would not mess with him, to feel that he has control of others, never feel marginalized again.
- One day another tragedy occurred, and that is that while Dominik was supervising the younger children, two big dogs snuck into the orphanage gates and seemed wild and aggressive, so Dominik went to try to scare them away but unfortunately he was attacked by those dogs and he ended up losing much of the right leg, he was taken to a hospital where they treated his injuries, but he began to feel pain and his doctor in charge gave him medicine and the pain disappeared. Dominik, curious and surprised, asked the doctor what he had used since at that time he did not know anything like medicine, and the doctor explained what medicines were, Dominik was very interested in that, thinking that medicine could have solved many problems in his life, so he begged the doctor to teach him and the man was so moved that he adopted Dominik when he was 16 y/o, getting the last name "Doria".
- He began to travel with the doctor, his adoptive father, to many hospitals in different countries, on those trips he learned more about medicine and science, above all he wanted to learn about pharmaceuticals and the creation of medicines, so it was that After a while he managed to become a pharmacist, but Dominik continued to use fear to control others and to top it off it seemed that he inherited the behavior of his brother Cain along with all the trauma he had not overcome from his childhood, and so it comes to the present, Dominik uses animals to test his medicines since he believes that it is more effective.
