I Love You, Even If You Forget Me Part 2 Akihito Story Summary

WARNING! Sexual content below because I also included the epilogue

Story starts with our beloved Yoshino going to the woods to pick up some medicinal herbs. Due to her bad luck, he encounters an almost dying low-level demon. The demon sees her, says something weird, breaks and disappears. At that moment, Yoshino also loses her consciousness.

Then we get Akihito's POV. Akihito hears that Yoshino was found unconscious and was brought to Yasuchika's mansion. When she woke up, she didn't recognize Akihito, who was siting next to her futon.

Yasuchika comes in and Akihito explained what happened. Yasuchika analyzed Yoshino and traced magic around her. Yoshino recognized Yasuchika because they met in the prologue of the game. She also remembers her Shogunate friends and also making contract with Tamamo. The only things she doesn't remember were her relationship with Akihito and Ibuki. Yasuchika was about tell her their relationship when Akihito immediately stopped him. Akihito at first was confused as why he stopped Yasuchika but he soon realizes that it was fear. Right now, Yoshino doesn't remember anything about Akihito, so he is a complete stranger to her. Once someone's memories disappear, emotional connection also disappears, so if Akihito were to tell her now, there is a chance that Yoshino will feel confused and she might reject him. It's like having a unrequited love. Akihito was scared of Yoshino's rejection.

Akihito also notices that Yoshino was acting very formal in front of him. He smiles and takes her hand. He tells her that she lives with them as their pharmacist and is also their friend. Yoshino relaxes and tells him that she was feeling awkward because Akihito looked like a high-rank noble. Akihito was relieved to find out that Yoshino was acting formal because he was a noble and not because she's scared of him or anything.

Both Yasuchika and Akihito leave the room so that Yoshino could rest. Yasuchika explains what happened to Yoshino to Akihito (Same thing in Kurama's route) the demon died so the only way to bring back Yoshino's memories is through time. Akihito looked very sad and felt a pain in his heart.

Next day, Akihito visits Yoshino and takes her to the garden. While showing around the garden, Yoshino started feeling more comfortable around Akihito. But still there was distance between them emotionally. Akihito was craving for that intimacy. For example, he wanted to pull her soft cheeks and kiss her and hug her tightly etc. But he had to hold back from doing that or else it would literally freak out Yoshino.

Then Yoshino asks Akihito about his bracelet. She tells him that the bracelet looked odd on Akihito who looks very elegant. If you don't know, the bracelet Akihito is wearing was made by Yasuchika to seal his curse and demonic powers. Both Akihito and Ibuki wears this bracelet. When Ibuki wears it, he turns into a child. At the end of Akihito's main story, his curse breaks and he becomes a regular human being. Even though he no longer needs the bracelet, he still wears it as a lucky charm. Now coming back to the story, Yoshino asks if she could touch the bracelet and Akihito was surprised for a second because it wasn't like her. He does allow her though. While touching the bracelet, Yoshino started to smile bitterly and tells Akihito that she no longer thinks the bracelet is odd. Then she timidly looks at Akihito and she started to feel something. She asks if they were actually friends or not?

Akihito wanted to reveal their true relationship but he still feared about getting rejected. So he smiles and tells her that they're close friends. He walks away, leaving behind a confused and sad Yoshino.

Later that night, Ibuki comes to see Akihito and asks how Yoshino was doing. But he could clearly make out from Akihito's expression. Akihito was super depressed. He wishes that he could die right now. Ibuki advices Akihito to be more selfish. He tells him, if he wants Yoshino to remember fast, just tell her the truth and have sex with her right away.......which is rich coming from this bastard because he didn't do it in his story event when she forgot about him.

Of course, Akihito says no because it will only make Yoshino hate him.

Ten days pass by, and Yoshino still didn't regain her memories. One day, she invites Akihito to her room and asked him if he would allow her to make house calls. Since her service in the mansion will only be needed if an emergency arises, in the mean time she wanted to work outside. Akihito says yes and Yoshino's face lit up. While looking around her room, Akihito notices something. There were so many medicinal herbs and her tools and in between was a note. He asks what the note is and Yoshino shyly takes the note. Without meeting his eyes, Yoshino started blushing and tells him that someone proposed to her and that the note was a love letter asking for her reply. Akihito was smiling......because after hearing that, he actually wanted to commit genocide. He asks who gave her that letter and she tells him that it was man from a certain store she visits frequently to buy medicinal herbs from. The man said that he had crush on her for a long time.

Now Akihito was actually pissed because Yoshino remembers this random man very clearly, but not him. He becomes super jealous and suddenly remembers Ibuki's words. Akihito knew that his actions would hurt Yoshino but he couldn't contain himself. He kisses and Yoshino froze. She tries to push him away, but Akihito holds her tightly. She wasn't able to resist because Akihito knew all her weak spots.

Akihito really wanted to have sex but stopped himself. With a painful expression, he apologizes and leaves the room. Again, leaving the confused and sad Yoshino behind.

Later that evening, Akihito goes to visit Yoshino again and this time he is fully prepared. He decided to reveal all his feelings for Yoshino, apologize to her once again for what happened earlier that day and tell her about their relationship. This time he didn't care if she rejected him. On his way, Ibuki calls out to him. From Akihito's face expression, Ibuki understood where he was going. Ibuki tells him that Yoshino isn't in her room right now and that he asked her to buy him alcohol. Akihito was worried about Yoshino because it was about to be night time and she's alone. Ibuki tells him the liquor shop from which he told Yoshino to buy alcohol from and Akihito leaves the mansion to bring back Yoshino.

Akihito quickly found Yoshino in a deserted alleyway. She was walking in front of him and suddenly stopped. She turns and sees Akihito, who also stopped walking. They both stare at each other for few moments awkwardly and then suddenly they both hear a rusty noise. When they look up, they see some wooden planks of a house which is in-process of completion, were about to fall on Yoshino. Akihito runs to pull her towards him but he wasn't able to make it in time. He saves her head and body from getting injured by hugging her tightly. When Yoshino looks up, she sees Akihito bleeding from one arm. It didn't matter to Akihito because he was able to save Yoshino who is more precious to him.

Akihito smiled and wiped her tears and suddenly Yoshino started to faintly remember the past. She then smiles and tells Akihito that she is starting to remember who Akihito is. Akihito was so happy that he hugged her tightly. They both go back home hand-in-hand.

That night, in Akihito's room, Yoshino was tending to Akihito's injuries. Yoshino fixes him in no time. She tells him to rest and was about leave the room when Akihito stops her. He asks her if she's actually going leave him now that she has regained her memories. Yoshino smiled and leans forward. She whispers to him that as a pharmacist she wants to let Akihito rest but when seeing Akihito reacting to her touch, it makes her want to touch him even more.

Of course Akihito doesn't let her go so Yoshino decides to take things in her own hands. She shyly tells him that she is his pharmacist, so she will be one serving him tonight. She gets on his lap and removes her kimono. Akihito found her very cute when she tries to take in charge. She starts kissing him everywhere. Akihito couldn't sit simply watching her so he started rubbing her nether region and Yoshino moans loudly. Yoshino couldn't wait any longer and she immediately lowers her body onto Akihito's phallus before any foreplay. Akihito could see that Yoshino's movement were very clumsy because she was super shy. But Akihito wasn't able to control himself when watching her orgasmic face and flushed naked body bouncing on his lap. So he held her hips tightly and pushed in even harder. Both of them were sweating and breathing heavily from the intense pleasure. Yoshino suddenly leans forward and whispers to him 'I love you'. Akihito then begs her to keep saying I love you again. Akihito thought that Yoshino's smile was so innocent and pure that it's hard to believe that she is smiling it the middle of doing such a lewd act. He bit her lip and they have sex all night.

Next day, Yasuchika and Ibuki visits their room and congratulates Yoshino for regaining her memories. Yasuchika looked very relieved because he knew how depressed Akihito was. Ibuki also smiles and asks Yoshino if she bought his alcohol and Yoshino apologizes and says no. Akihito tells Yoshino to ignore him and that he is just play with her. Yasuchika then decides to throw a party and tells Ibuki to leave because he isn't invited. All the three of them laugh and Akihito watches him happily.

ooooooh ok juicy sfc posts happening !! i rly honestly truly love to see it. here's my unasked for two cents, as someone who did find the story really hopeful. im posting this not to like, discourse or disagree or discount what im seeing, but to just maybe offer a different pov for ppl who might be trying to file this story away in a less devastating way.

i, of course, think baz deserves better than what he gets from his family. we all deserve to have families that love us unconditionally, and so many of us DONT have that -- including baz. that hurts !! i also think simon didn't deserve to lose his magic, and penny didn't deserve to take on the sole responsibility for keeping simon safe, and agatha didnt deserve to be shoved into every princess/damsel role ppl cast on her, etc etc.

what i like so much abt this series is that ppl dont get what they deserve, but theyre still okay. its why i also love the end of awtwb -- simons LICH ER ALL Y crying lol. he got a whole mega-bucket of extra trauma dumped on his plate that he hasnt even started to process. but its still so clear that he's got the support he needs to live a good life alongside this terrible knowledge. the mage fucked him over even more than he knew, but he doesnt have to define himself by these terms anymore -- we've seen his growth in this regard.

bazs main arc in the series is about how he sees himself -- in crudely simple terms, he rly wants to be a Good Guy (you know, not a vampire, straight, a good pitch etc etc) but sees himself as cursed with that impossibility. this continues as his idealized Good Guy self develops over the course of the books into something that actually feels more achievable to him and is less reliant on the shit his family put on him growing up.

the cool thing about snow for christmas is that -- just like when simon finds out abt the mage at the end of awtwb -- we get to see baz's new sense of self tested. we get to see what he's using to draw the lines of morality. and we get to see that while of course he still cares about what his family thinks, and it still causes him anxiety and trauma and all the shitty things that he doesnt deserve -- he has grown from that place where their value system can make him hate himself.

and moreso on the hope part -- the grimms value, above all, the ability to fit into the roles they think theyre supposed to hold. its bullshit, and they've both caused themselves problems and absolutely are fucking up their children. daphne fully had to be saved by a cult bc of it and shes still not over that mindset -- these ppl need therapy lol. so it's def sick n twisted that they're celebrating baz being able to hide better rather than celebrating who baz is, but is this not the utmost sign of love that they're capable of? baz gets to fit in better -- that's all they've ever wanted for him, whether we agree with that or not. baz seems to recognize the balance of this in the story. he narrates the rest of the dinner with a sort of dry, relieved, disbelieving tone. it’s like hes huffing a laugh, shaking his head, thinking, “did i really used to pin so much of myself on this stuff? how silly.” he is not distressed bc he understands his parents, and he has, again, divorced his sense of self from their expectations. so much so tht he says fuck it and gives simon the lil kissy at the end, because THIS is his new value system: he ALWAYS kisses simon goodbye!

so, is this a step forward for the grimms being more supportive parents? yeah, maybe not. maybe it never gets better than baz hiding his fangs at dinner and everyone doing the bare minimum to accept simon's role in baz’s life. that's not what baz and simon deserve. but it could be enough, because simon and baz have different ways that they measure their happiness by. they have each other and penny and shep and ruth and agatha and niamh and every other person they'll meet in the many, many years ahead of them whose opinions they can choose to make important to them, or reject. i love this for them! the true queer hope story imo. thats what i want for myself and for the people i love.

to be clear: this story made me sob so hard i scared my cats. (im not rly a crier, they did not know what to do). i had to put it down in the middle because i couldnt see the page. any queer person who has Family Shit is bound to get whammied lol. but! i personally find comfort in the idea that we can coexist with people who are important to us but also very difficult to be around, even if its not totally what we deserve. its a very quiet, somber hope -- but that only makes it feel more real to me.

Confrontation Time Yayyy...

Blaine. Blaine bro. Stop. Just. Okay there is a lot of childhood issues to be unpacked here. But you know what before talking to him before telling him what he should do maybe we should all just. Let him relax, for awhile. I mean ngl he looks awful, and I'm not trying to be mean here but he and Frederick clearly needs professional help. But let's unpack them one by one. Let's start with the pianist.

(Disclamier: I am not a professional. I am simply telling you my opinion in this post)

Holy shit. Someone give him a break. Give him lots of sleep. Anything to make this boy relax. Let me just say this right away, golden child syndrome. I'm blaming all of these shit on Leland. Y'all our lesson today is: don't put too much pressure on a child, don't compare your children to each other, and accept your child however they are. Please y'all this has happen too much. A child is smart and they achieves lots of things, then makes that their only reason of living, the only reason they are loved. That's horrible. In Blaine's case, I think he feels as if those achievements, those trophies, are a way to validate his life. It's like he cannot fail because if he fails automatically he disappoints everyone including himself.

We know that he has been 'thriving' since he was child. Let's say approximately since he was uhh 9 years old? That would be 12 years of intense hardwork hell sugarcoated by the paradise of 'winning'. Once again, not exactly the best childhood ever. Not to mention, does he even have any friends? We have never seen him mention any. So we can say that he doesn't have any support outside of him being 'perfect' (well, until Maria at least, but that was pretty short-lived :')

At this point I won't even be surprised if the reason he has been doing self care is only so that he looks good as a model and so that people love him.

Man, he needs intense reality check. Also I'm like 99% sure he definitely doesn't want to kill Frederick. The event of him and Lance beating the shit out of the bullies still live in my head rent free. Bro is VERY confused with his life right now and needs help.

Let's move on to the youngest now

Right of the bat I'm going to say:

Scapegoat child, self esteem issues, possibility of depression, and uh we're gonna have to add this now... possibility of being suicidal. Alright.

What is a scapegoat child? A scapegoat child is the child who is pretty much blamed for everything and takes attention of the center of the problem, if that makes sense. As far as I know, this is the child who recognize the actual problems in the family, and is the one to break the cycle of abuse. These children are the opposite of the golden child. And you know what it makes sense that both of them are in the same household. If there is a golden child to praise and give attention to, then there is the scapegoat who is blamed and left out. That is what Frederick is in his family.

Self esteem issues. This boy has been told he is pathetic, weak, useless, and all of those words for his entire life, to the point he actually believe that those words are his entire personality.

Now, I'm not gonna straight up say he is suicidal, though we have an evidence in the panel here. But if we look at the past chapters, he doesn't exactly actively try to die. Those moments where he fell of the Pastel hills are accidents. But we can also say that the suicidal thoughts just came recently. Especially considering what is happening lately. Being trapped in a deep hole with little to no socialization can really do some things to you...even if you're an introvert. We are social creatures. As much as we say we hate chatting with people, we also don't want to be alone with no social communication our entire life now, do we?

Anyway, I'm going to suggest this, there is a chance that Frederick probably has what is called passive suicidal ideation. He doesn't actively try to die, but he wouldn't care if he die. But I'm a little conflicted on this one. Maybe someone else who is better at this field of study can help me?

We can also assume that Frederick told Blaine to kill him out of desperation. There are lots of possibilities that I hope Lambcat will explore more in the future.

Also his coping mechanism of escaping reality is something to watch out for since he has shown signs of not being able to differentiate between reality and fantasy

Now, I just want to say that there is a chance that I'm heavily wrong here. But I'm just stating my opinion and I'm not trying to offend anyone. If there is something wrong in what I wrote please do tell me.

Okay, let's move on to the next scene now—

NAH BLAINE SWINGING THAT SWORD 💀💀 Bro is clearly so stressed istg. C'mon Blaine the curse tattoo doesn't look THAT bad. It looks aight if you ask me. I would even say it's unique.

Here is my new au proposal:

Sunny is getting extremely tired of practicing. He almost, *almost* shatters after he makes another mistake, but through some miracle he gets through it. (This might be ooc idk keoqwokwpq) eventually, the siblings finally land on perfect run. Mari is relieved and is just blindly cussing out Sunny at this point for finally pulling himself together for once or smth, and unfortunately Sunny isn't zoned out and takes all of it in directly to the heartThe recital happens.

It is how it went in the duet (not quite perfect but absolutely beautiful I think), and everyone is proud. But not of the both of them, but of only Mari. She gets all the praise and love back home while Sunny just looks at his cut up hands and bloody violin. This neglectful moment will be internalised in him forever.

And even though Basil, Aubrey and eventually Kel and Hero approached him, it meant nothing to him by then.

And thus begins: Sunny's downward spiral!

At first he just doesn't talk to any of his friends anymore. Not even when they're hanging out.

Then, he stops going to the hang outs and stays inside, spending time with Mewo and his thoughts. Of course he still goes outside and to school, but he doesn't exchange any words with his parents or his sister.

Everytime Mari tries to talk to him he just turns away or stays quiet. Also he put the violin away forever, blood coated and sealed away.

He has completely cut ties with everyone, even Basil. His best friend.

The only people he talks to really are Mewo and in headspace, Abbi. The other two great ones too, but mostly Abbi. And despite her wisdom, Sunny doesn't take her words on seeing his friends again. After all, why should he? They don't care.

Abbi wants to convenience him because she knows deep down he still feels the same he did about them before, but to no avail.

Now, how do his friends feel about this?

Aubrey, first and foremost, is extremely miserable, because the one person she could trust to talk to is gone. Out of her life. And right as her family fully fell apart. She stopped being as cheerful and is now mostly just tired. The hair dying still happens with Mari, but she never got to show it to Sunny, so she feels pretty let down. Also stopped bickering with Kel because tiredness (probably ooc but I'm dumb so).

Basil is not having a happy, to say the least. Much like Aubrey, he has no one to vent to or just talk to about flowers who actually listens. So he becomes less social and often doesn't show up to the hang outs. He has tried talking with Aubrey, but he finds that two people venting at the same time isn't too good so they both agreed to not do that.

Kel is still mostly Kel, but he feels ever so slightly more sad because the one person who always went along with his wackiness is gone. Aubrey doesn't want in on, Basil is too scared and Hero and Mari are just busy.

Hero is pretty unchanged. He had the weakest connection to Sunny after all. And he is studying to be a psychologist or smth so he can help Mari and the others n stuff.

Mari is, upset to say the least. At first she was angry with Sunny for not coming along, but then she started to think about why this could be. She didn't fully get it until one day while looking for something she found the violin with dried blood on it. The realization hit her like a truck and she was destroyed. She did this to him. She is the reason why the friend group is barely held together and why Aubrey and Basil are depressed. She failed as a friend, but most importantly:

She failed as an older sister.

Theory of Love Rewatch Ep 11 Stray Thoughts

Last time, we picked up from Khai's confession at the party as he bared his heart to Third in front of a crowd. Khai apologized to Un, and he decided not to whip Khai's ass because they now share a warrior's bond. Third and Khai talked about what happened and Third eventually gave in to peer pressure to give Khai a chance. Khai pulled out his moves and Third started to fall again. Things were going well, but we have a jealousy bit developing with a new hot girl who seems into Khai. In Khai's defense, he doesn't seem that interested in her and is aware of his own reputation. Meanwhile, Two started seeing Lynn but he was confused about Un, and Lynn now knows about it. Bone and Paan were about to kiss because Paan's fiance is cheating.

I am relieved that Bone and Paan didn't kiss.

Okay, Lynn. I get that you walked in on a gay as hell moment between Two and Un, and also that you were still in just a talking stage, but he was right there in front of you. You can't text message breakup.

Oh, Ching Ching, why does your interference feel intentional?

Ep.11 He's Just Not That Into You

Khai must be serious about this promise to go with his friend to the beach. He would never lie over the PPL.

I will credit Khai on admitting he probably forgot to mention a party to Third. Previously, he'd just be hostile and blame Third.

Khai, you in danger, girl.

Okay, I like them putting this bar scene where a guy hits on Third, only for Third to soundly reject him, before he heads upstairs to Khai.

So they let Gun kiss someone else in 2019 since it was only to piss off Khai, but they were COWARDS in 2021 during Not Me.

I feel bad for this guy. He has this twink suddenly sucking his face before getting decked. Now they're in a screaming match.

"You saw?" is such a bad response. Going into this relationship Third said he didn't want to hurt anymore. Well, here it is.

Third is a mess, but the timing of his drinking in response to being told not to by Two was great.

Oh this fight is uglier than I remember. They're both getting cut on glass, and it definitely looks like Khai is forcing himself on Third.

Mm, Third is regressing, and Khai is not making things clear.

I get Bone's choice here, but I don't want him to fail this class.

I think Bone makes a very classy choice to just observe Gap and then tell Paan earnestly that he thinks Gap truly loves her without taking that conversation from Gap.

See, and this is why I wanted Khai to make it clear to Third on his own. Finding out through Two from what he learned from Te about Ching Ching is not ideal.

Third has watched seven films in a row? That is exhausting. The most I've done is six.

Not this show making me feel bad for Khai because he feels abandoned by all of his friends based on what they misunderstood.

Goddammit, they got me. I am not immune to a promise between men.

I think this episode works fine for the breakup portion required in all romance, but I really don't like Khai's fidelity to Third happening through others. This is how Khai is a lot, so it's within his characterization. It's also in Third's characterization to go running to Khai when he gets worried about him. The train station sequence lands well because it's the kind of big movie moment that Third would have always wanted, but he got there organically because he genuinely cared about Khai. Some Random Mista Headcanons! (Some r kinda NOT SFW)

Has definitely thought about getting a navel piercing

I wouldn't say he's really clingy?( At least not in the level i hc Nara to be where he'd definitely want/need to know where his s/o is at, at all times in fear of them suddenly abandoning him-) But like, Mista does like it/feels relieved when his s/o updates him on where they're at/what they're doing just bc of y'know, mafia- And he's been left a bit traumatize by witnessing what had happened to the woman he saved, that he's afraid anyone he loves could suddenly have that happened to them and he, or someone like him, wont be there to save/help them.

He has a genuinely wholesome relationship with his family. The only reason they hadn't been able to bail him out of jail when he was thrown in it was because they didn't have the money to do so. However, they're all extremely proud of him for saving the woman.

He "worked" at a small family business growing up. (Worked, in quotes, bc he mostly goofed around or just lounged around in the back lmao-)

Has a family tradition where his entire family meets up at one of their homes just so they can all see and bond with each other. Obviously, he always goes, and has dragged the Bucci gang to it before. (Fugo and Abbacchio agreed that never again- Narancia loved how sweet and fun everyone was- And everyone demanded for Bruno return next time-)

He isn't sure if he wants children or not (biologically or otherwise) because he, obviously, loves the energy his big ass family brings. But, he also understands the reality of his line of work. Though, his family constantly pressure him to have kids one day.

Pretends to be in serious pain when he's not just so he could hog his s/o's undivided attention and they can shower him with physical affection-

He owns a motorcycle but only uses it on his days off when he goes out and to show it off

He's a soar loser- If he loses at a game he'd definitely start being like "Yeah... This game isn't really fun. Let's do something else"

Loves to leave bite marks on his s/o's thighs, neck, and shoulders

Needs to take at least one nap a day with his s/o, doesn't matter how long it is. He n e e d s it-

Can and does stick other stuff into his pants when he gets tired of holding them instead of using his pockets like a normal person

Kicho's Main Story Chapter 3 Part 1

JP Spoilers under the cut

No one believed me when I told everyone back in Honnoji that I came from the future.

(Of course. If someone said that to me, I’d also think they were being crazy.)

(Time travel isn’t something you experience very often, and it sounds like a made-up story, but一)

Kicho: “...........”

I stole a glance at Kicho, walking in front of me.

(I didn’t expect to see a fellow time traveler, and I can’t believe he believed my story.)

After only two days of being a spy, I was transferred the next morning from the position of a maid to that of a secretary.

After repacking my bags and leaving the room I was using, he took me down the hallway of the building.

(Where the hell is he taking me?)

(He showed me the key he took out of the drawer yesterday, but does that mean he’s going to lock me in?)

(Yeah. There's a high chance of that happening.)

To him, I was probably a suspicious person who liked to move around as she pleased.

I wouldn't be surprised if he decided to lock me up in my room.

Kicho: “Mai.”

Mai: “Yes!?”

Kicho: “Why are you surprised when I just called your name? We’re here.”

Mai: “Here?”

(His room is next door.)

Kicho: “It would be more convenient for me to monitor you if we were closer.”

Kicho: "I don't want you slipping out at night on your own again."

He said that and opened the door with the key in his hand.

(Whoa!)

The room he showed me was different from the room I had been using until yesterday. It was furnished in a Japanese-Western style with imported types of furniture.

Kicho: "This room was used by the secretary of the previous director."

Kicho: "It hasn't been used for several months since they left, but I had it cleaned yesterday."

(True, there's no dust anywhere. It's so clean and beautiful.)

Kicho: "I've put in enough furniture, but if you need something, just let me know."

Mai: "Okay, got it. But I think it's enough already."

Kicho: "Really? You don't feel inconvenienced?"

(Why? Because I'm from the future?)

I shook my head, a little surprised at his unexpected concern.

Mai: "It's okay. But if I need something, I'll tell you."

Kicho: "Yeah. Well, I'll leave this here for now."

Kicho placed the room's key on a nearby table.

Mai: "Are you sure? If I have that, I can open the door and go out as I like."

Kicho: "That's what a key is for."

Mai: "Yes, but you said you would monitor me."

Kicho: "Yeah, that's what I said. But there's no need to restrict all your movements if you're with me during the day."

Kicho: "Also, if you suspiciously go out at night, I'll hear the door open."

(He's right.)

I was relieved I didn't have to worry about being locked in.

(Surprisingly, he's not that strict.)

(I wonder if I can sneak out and report to Mitsuhide.)

And so, my new life began again.

A few days later

(I was so naive!)

Kicho: "Mai, hurry up. Let's move on."

Mai: “C-Coming!”

Kicho: "Actually, wait. What's with your head?"

Kicho: "Who would wrap a cloth around their head when they're going to a business meeting?"

Mai: "No one."

(As I thought, wrapping it around my head to hide my bed hair was a dumb idea.)

As Kicho had said, he didn't restrict all my movements. However, I was so busy with work that I always fell asleep after returning to my room.

(So this is what he meant when he said he doesn't have to restrict my actions.)

(I don't think I can contact Mitsuhide in this way.)

Mai: "Sorry. I fell asleep with my hair wet yesterday."

Mai: "On top of that, I overslept, so I didn't have the time to style it."

Mai: "I thought it would be rude to come in looking like a mess."

Kicho: "Turn around."

Mai: "Whoa!"

Suddenly, he untied the cloth on my head and pulled my hair up.

(Is he tying my hair?)

Kicho: "Okay. That should do it."

Mai: "Thanks."

Kicho: "Well, let's go this time."

He walked away, and I hurriedly followed him, gently touching my hair.

(There's something attached to it. It's probably a hairpin.)

(He's so well-prepared, carrying all this stuff around.)

He was probably even busier than I was, yet his clothes and hair were spotless.

(Sometimes I wonder if he's not in the same era as I am.)

(Maybe he's a great guy after all.)

Kicho: "Yo lo haré." [I'll do it.]

Foreign merchant: "Vaya, eres muy tierno, gracias!" [Oh my, you're so thoughtful, thank you!]

(I wonder what they're talking about. The guy he's talking to seems very happy.)

My role now is to watch them quietly, so I keep smiling beside Kicho as he speaks the foreign language fluently.

Kicho: "Mai."

Mai: "Yes, here."

I took out the contract, written in a foreign language, I had prepared and handed it to Kicho.

(Things worked out again this time. He's really great at his job.)

(It's too perfect that it's almost scary.)

Kicho: "The next business meeting is in an hour. Before that, I'll make a final confirmation of the items' number to be purchased."

Mai: "Okay."

Kicho: "And about the other merchant一"

Kicho's subordinate 1: "Lord Kicho, excuse me for interrupting. May I have a word?"

Kicho: "Sure, what's wrong?"

Kicho's subordinate 1: "Actually, I was just in town..."

He listened to his subordinate, who came to him for advice. Then, he immediately began to give instructions without hesitation.

Kicho: "This will settle the matter. If you still can't get things under control, bring them here. I'll handle it."

Kicho's subordinate 1: "Understood. Thank you very much. Now if you'll excuse me."

(That's one clever solution.)

As I watched in awe, another subordinate came toward him.

Kicho's subordinate 2: "Lord Kicho, you're here!"

Kicho's subordinate 2: "I've summarized all the information I mentioned the other day, so please check back here later."

Kicho: "No, let's check it now. It must be urgent."

Kicho looked down at the document and immediately pointed something out.

Kicho: "This part is not correct."

Kicho: "As I recall, the same transaction happened last month. There should be a record of it in the storage room."

Kicho: "It'll be easier to tell if you refer to it. Check it and fix this."

Kicho's subordinate 2: "Yes, sir. Thank you."

(He's quick to confirm and precise.)

(I noticed that he's very popular since we started working together.)

His business partners are always pleased by his response, and his men always rush to him as soon as he's in the trading post.

(I heard that he took over this trading post, but it doesn't feel like he's controlling his men by force.)

(Maybe because he's talented and an irreplaceable part of this place.)

(He's the opposite of me.)

Kicho: "What's wrong? What are you dawdling about?"

Mai: "I was just thinking that you're the kind of boss I'd like to have."

Mai: "I thought you were charismatic and amazing. Anyway, I'm sorry for interrupting your work."

Kicho: "No."

Kicho: "..............."

Kicho's sudden silence made me a little uneasy.

(Did I just say something bad?)

Kicho: "Is something bothering you?"

Mai: "Huh?"

Kicho: "No, of course, there is. The norm here is different from the one you're used to."

Kicho: "For example, you could talk to me like this, but you couldn't read the letters of this period."

Kicho: "Compared to what it was in the future, it's totally different."

Mai: "Yeah. I can't read it."

(The document he checked earlier was also probably written in Japanese, but I couldn't understand it at all.)

Kicho: "If you want, I can teach you."

Mai: "Are you sure!?"

Kicho: "I never say something I don't mean."

Kicho: "Besides, that'll help me with my work, and there's no harm in teaching you."

Mai: "Then, by all means!"

(I'm already swamped with work, but I'm sure it'll come in handy.)

(This is a perfect chance for me, so let's go for it!)

Then I began to study the kuzushiji characters in my spare time from work.

(I know it's difficult, but I feel like I'm learning a foreign language.)

As I read the book he had prepared for me, someone suddenly knocked on my door.

Mai: "Come in."

Kicho: "Looks like you're on it. How are you doing?"

Mai: "It's interesting. And the book you gave me is easy to understand."

Mai: "I wonder if someday I'll be able to write a letter to someone from this period."

Kicho: "If you do, you can send it to the people who took you in."

Kicho: "Let them know you're okay so they can rest easy."

(He's right. But if I did that, he would know about everyone in the Oda army and my true identity.)

Mai: "Though, it's better if I write the first one to you."

Mai: "So, as my sensei, please check this."

I handed him a piece of paper on which I had written a brief greeting in practice.

Kicho: "Sure, no problem. It looks like all your hard work is paying off."

Kicho: "Well, that's enough for today. Take a short break until the next business meeting."

???: "Kicho!"

(Whose voice is that!?)

A voice echoed from the other side of the door.

Mai: "I think he's calling you. Is it one of your men?"

Kicho: "No. It looks like someone took their eyes off him."

Kicho: "I have to catch him before he runs outside. Who knows what he'll do next if we let him do what he wants."

Mai: "What?"

(Is he dangerous!?)

I hurriedly followed him as he left the room.

Mai: "W-Wait! I'll help you!"

Mai: "I can't catch him, but I can do something else."

Kicho: "No need."

Mai: "But it's dangerous. The more help you have, the better."

Kicho: "Dangerous? You got it all wrong."

Kicho: "The voice just now..."

???: "Kicho!"

Mai: "Whoa!?"

My heart skipped a beat as something jumped into my view and stopped at Kicho's shoulder, shaking its head happily.

Mai: "A parrot?"

Kicho: "Yes. Meet Fuku."

Mai: "Ehh?"

Kicho: "He's in a good mood. He's just saying the words he learned. They don't mean much."

Mai: "I see. He's very talkative."

Mai: "And very cute, too."

Fuku: "Cute!"

Mai: "Hehe, yup. You're such a good boy."

Kicho: "You like him? Then, stick your index finger this way."

Mai: "Um, like this?"

I did as I was told, and he transferred Fuku from his shoulder to my fingertips.

The round blush pattern on his cheeks and the way he stared at me were so adorable.

(I guess it's still very young. It's pretty tiny.)

Fuku: "Kicho!"

Mai: "Hehe, Fuku really likes you."

Mai: "If he misses you this much, does that mean you're the owner?"

Kicho: "Yeah. I mainly take care of him."

Kicho: "When I first became the director of this place, my business partner brought me this bird as a souvenir."

Mai: "Heh. His name is pretty nice. Fuku is very fitting for a trading post."

Kicho: "That's what I thought when I named it. I hope it'll be good for this place."

Kicho: "As the name implies, his appearance sometimes makes business meetings more pleasant, and Fuku seems to be enjoying himself."

Fuku: "Fuku!"

Kicho: "Yeah, I'm talking about you."

(He looks kind of gentle.)

(I don't think I've ever seen him look like this before.)

Gently reaching out, he stroked Fuku's head with his fingers, and Fuku happily rubbed his head and beak, repeating the words he had learned.

(If he misses him this much, he must be very attached to him.)

(Speaking of which...)

------------Flashback------------

Kicho: "Don't smoke in here."

---------Flashback Ends---------

Mai: "Is Fuku the reason you asked Motonari not to smoke before?"

Kicho: "Oh, that. I've heard that smoke irritates parrots' respiratory tract and has adverse effects."

Kicho: "Basically, Fuku spends most of his time in the cage in my room, except when he's free."

Mai: "I see."

Mai: "I can understand why Fuku loves you so much."

Kicho: "I'm just doing what I'm supposed to do as the owner."

(I'm sure that's the reason why Fuku likes him.)

(Even though he's keeping an eye on me, I feel like I've seen more parts of him after spending time together.)

A few days later

Mai: "Please check this!"

I bowed deeply and held out a sheet of paper to Kicho.

Today, I wrote a thank-you letter on behalf of a business partner to check the results of my study of kuzushiji characters.

(Although, he wrote an example for me first since we're sending it to someone else.)

I raised my head and glanced over to see his reaction, and our gazes collided.

Kicho: "Mai."

Mai: "Y-Yes?"

Kicho: "We're going out. The sooner we can thank them like this, the better."

Mai: "So, I passed?"

Kicho: "Yeah. It was worth the practice. You've done well in such a short time."

Kicho: "If you continue this, you'll be able to read books from this period."

Mai: "Thank you very much."

(It's still nice to have a sense of accomplishment no matter how old I am.)

(Also, he's a good teacher.)

(Come to think of it, Mitsuhide taught me a lot of things on the way here too.)

(I know they’re cousins, but maybe they're a bit alike in this way.)

Kicho: "I'll prepare a few more challenging books next time."

Mai: "Few more books!?"

(And like him, he's a bit of a Spartan, too.)

We went through the town in the afternoon to deliver the thank-you note.

(I think several stores near the port sell more unusual items, and the people walking here are dressed interestingly.)

Among them, foreigners dressed in Western-style clothing caught my attention.

Suddenly, I saw a woman in a dress, escorted by a man, walk past me.

(The dress she's wearing is so elegant and lovely.)

(The design is simple, but the lines are beautiful. It suits her very well.)

Kicho: "Something on your mind?"

Mai: "I just thought that their dresses were so stylish."

(I feel like they were tailored to fit their size.)

(I wonder if it's custom-made. I want to make something like that and make the customer happy too.)

I pretended not to see it, but greed inevitably showed its face.

(If I could go back to the future, I wonder what I would be doing now.)

(I wish I could've been a designer.)

Kicho: "..............”

Okay! Thoughts!

I'm literally living for Time being called Ancestor, responding to it! I've wondered for a long time what they call him, he calls Wild 'Cub' and Twilight 'Pup', but I've always wondered what they call him. Ancestor is...odd, but beautiful, almost regal? I love it

And Twilight's gracefulness with this. He cares a lot, it shows him at his best to show how the only reason he's upset to die is because he wanted to do so much more for other people, and that's why, when Wild urges him to keep fighting, he does. It shows so much of who Twilight is; it shows that he lives a truly selfless life, a hero among heroes; someone who lives life for the sake of others more then he ever could himself, and that's beautiful (and sad, because Twilight clearly doesn't value himself nearly enough)

Also, Warriors commending and scolding Wild in the same breath? Twilight interjecting that no, Wild doesn't listen to anybody? Their little pained laughs at that?

And Time's gentle pride. Twilight's concern that his death would be cause for Time to be bound to the mortal world for so long. The gentle and kind way they all speak to him, it's so heartfelt and touching!

And Wild's speech! I was almost afraid, as I was reading, that JoJo really would end it here, but Wild's speech would mean nothing if it did, so I know that it's got to continue!

And the others' reactions to that speech! They say so much about the boys! Wind is showing his heart on his sleeve, determined to encourage and help however he can. Warriors is that playful sort of challenge; he's teasing Twilight, because they're the sort of brothers who never lay off each other, but he's also showing his support and trying to encourage. And Legend's gentle comment about fishing, I think it shows a lot about him, about how he values the otehrs as more than heroes but as people. Being a hero has taken up so much of his life that I think he's just glad to be able to see things outside of that eternal fight, but see the others as brothers, and reminding Twilight that he wants to spend time with him outside of battle and travel, doing something mundane and quiet, I think it shows growth in their relationship and bond.

And then there's Sky. Sky whose words speak to himself and Twilight both; they have kingdoms to watch flourish and they both need to make it to the end of this adventure to see that happen. They both have so much yet to do, and I think Sky sees a bit of himself in Twilight right now, can understand, perhaps better than them all, what Twilight wants and why it matters so much. And I think that JoJo's choice to have him say that is absolutely perfect.

Also, there's a few little things here that I love. I love Warriors' hand on Wild's shoulder, gentle and assuring, but also firm and grounding. i love that Legend holds his hat instead of wearing it: a common sign of respect or mourning that I think is awesome to include. Their faces, the gentle expressions; Legend's expressiveness is really showing through this time, and I find it interesting that the only two we see crying at all are himself and Wind, the two who were previously called "young heroes" a couple updates ago.

That little thumbs up. iyt shouldn't have made me laugh, but it just seems so out of place with all the drama here, yet so perfect for Twilight! Just like him actually saying 'y'all' (it's cannon now, you hear!), it just suits him so well.

Lastly, I want to point out: Wild is smiling weird again, and this time it's not for the others to see. Now it could be a smile of "I did good, we're okay" but it isn't relieved, not really. it makes me wonder what's going on inside his head.....

Okay, but the exciting Willow and jasper murder bonding episode:

They all find out what happened with vee and are properly horrified, and that night Willow goes to sneak out of the house to kill him. She has decided that this man is willing to dissect a child alive and he can't be allowed free but he can't be brought to justice of any kind either without endangering vee or the rest of them. She makes the decision that it has to be done and she won't put this on anyone else's conscience and she also doesn't want anyone to stop her. So she's sneaking out when a voice in the darkness stops her like hm, where are you off to? And shes like ACK totally caught. And she doesn't think to ask why jasper is also lingering about fully dressed at three in the morning, but she is brave and deviant and she stands up straight and tells him the truth. She's going to kill Jacob.

Jasper is like hm. Interesting. Well I suppose murder requires adult supervision, how about I tag along. And she's like ?????? But he is not stopping her so she's like uh. Okay. So they're off on their little adventure. They don't know where he lives so they go to the historical society first to track him down and all that fun stuff, and as they're doing all this theyre chatting away. They talk about hunter and jasper promises not to tell him about her crush and she gets all flustered and embarrassed. He shows her some neat plant magic tricks to like pick a lock with a vine. She misses her dads like hell and he's being A Comforting Paternal Figure and he promises her that he's sure they're fighting with everything they've got to make sure they're still there when she gets back, and that even if they don't know where she is they'll never give up hoping she makes it back. It's all very emotional!

And then of course WHAM! we find our guy. They break in and kick his butt and now he's on the ground and Willow has her staff pointed at him and a hard look in the eyes and she's like okay. Do or die moment. Its time to kill him.

Only for dear jasper to interject, like, are you sure you want to do this? And she's like I have to. And he's like you don't have to do anything. You're choosing to. And she's like but it's the right thing to do! And he says it may be the right thing to be done, but that doesn't mean it's the right thing to do. And she hesitates and he tells her that once you kill someone, you're different. It changes you. From that moment on you have to live with the fact you have taken someone's life away, that you have been the arbiter of life and death for someone else. You decided their future held no value, that whatever they might have been, good or bad, is gone forever, because of you, and you can't ever take that back. And she's like I know. I can handle it. And he says he knows she can, but that doesn't mean she has to. It's just as hard to walk away as it is to pull the trigger. They're both decisions. And she has to decide who she wants to be, who she wants other people to know she is, what change she wants to put in her heart. Eventually he talks her down and she backs up and says she doesn't want to be a killer. She wants to see the best in people. She wants to believe people can be good, that people can change. Jacob is cowering on the floor begging for his life and she doesn't want to be the kind of person that kills someone in cold blood like that, even if he deserves it.

Jasper says she's very smart and very brave. He looks down at terrified Jacob and says he won't be a problem anymore, right? He knows that if he ever hurts anyone again that there won't be any mercy this time, right? So he's going to be good. And Jacob nods rapidly and says yup uh huh I've turned over a new leaf I am going to be soooo good and jasper says and you're also going to pack a bag, get on a train and never come back to graves field, right? And Jacob is like Yup uh huh whatever you say scary man. And Willow is like visibly relieved because The Adult Is Handling It and he tells her to go home and get back to bed before anyone notices she's gone. He will make sure Jacob leaves town. And she's like okay. Thank you. And she leaves.

And Jacob is sitting up like haha okay. Um. THE SECOND TRIAL IS OFFICIALLY OVER. YIPPEEEEEEEEE 🎉🎉🎉 i was about to type "are we ready to see them suffer even more" but ykw. ykw. some characters actually are going to get better :) and some relationship dynamics are going to become a bit more wholesome. some other ones though...

Hinode: So, Miki-san, are you ready to start?

Miki: .. And.. Why exactly do we need this machine? What are we going to use it for?

Hinode: I was planning to kind of.. play with the guilty prisoners' memories a little bit.

Hinode: For example, maybe we can take the memories of their childhood and see what kind of people they would become without them. Maybe we can take the memories of their murder and see how they would act.

Hinode: We can't actually watch the memories we've taken from them though, which is a shame.

Hinode: Ah, the physical side effects may be..

Hinode: *takes a breath* Dissociation, dizziness, headache, anxiety, depression, nausea, mood swings, even bigger memory loss in the process..

Hinode: But at least it's not cutting their fingers off or beating them up, right?

Miki: .. Can't we come up with a better punishment?

Hinode: But I thought you wanted to save everyone, Miki-san.

Hinode: It's not going to hurt. They're not going to feel any pain. They're just gonna forget some things, actually, it might make them happier.

Hinode: And if anything goes wrong, we can just give those memories back to them.

Miki: .. A weird question, but where did you get this machine?

Hinode: Oh, uh..

Hinode: The rabbit thing from earlier gave it to me.

Miki: ...

Miki: I have a bad feeling about this.

Hinode: Come on, Miki-san, you know we have to do something to the guilty prisoners.

Miki: Can't we just restrain them?! Can't we just lock them up or something?!

Hinode: You will be in control, Miki-san.

Hinode: You can go for a small memory loss or a big one.
