OKAY!!! so i had to gather visuals for this one bc i have many feelings about this!! I went for scenes that no matter how many times i watch, they never lose their magic for me, no matter that i know theyre coming, it still takes my breath away and makes me roll around with delight, these most of these i feel like are probably pretty obvious ones, they were meant to be impactful but ough, if they dont tear me up in the best way

I mean, what can i say??? what IS there to say?? theyve been teammates for a few weeks at this point, but hinata has given all his trust to kageyama and in turn, kageyama promised to use it to its full potential. its also a promise for their rivalry!! like, okay okay okay think about it, with the context we have with Kazuyo, kageyama has *already* decided that hinata is going to be his someone better! he sees it innately and he wants to draw it out of him, and he's, hes trying to be *hinatas* someone better too!! do u understand *shakes you* do u see what i mean!!! i mean, im sure u do, im definitely not the first person to go insane about this and ppl have probably also said it in a way thats smarter than me but just, ough

its,,,, its,,, the acceptance of it all,,, i just think about how *alone* kageyama must have felt after his grandfather passed, we see and know that hes not good at connecting with people. hes bad at communicating and hes sensitive and he's scared of getting complacent. like, the all youth camp arc and atsumu calling him a goody-two-shoes is kageyama struggling with how he is changing, how hes trying to incorporate the influences he's gotten from his betters, and he cherishes it, but he's also felt like the advice he'd been given didn't also mesh with certain parts of himself. or, thats how i read into it, anyway. he tries so *hard* to be what ppl need him to be, and he's *so scared* of being rejected again. and this is hinata (and the rest of karasuno) telling him "HEY! we like you! we think you're smart and you dont have to shoulder connection all on your own! let us help you connect with us in a way where you feel comfy too :)" and then they talk about how they want communication! and it works!! and i just *rips into a pillow with my teeth*

HINATA'S PERFECT RECEIVE!!!!! so the inarizaki match is probably my favorite?? there are so many good moments but *this?* you wanna see me go insane? do you want smth thatll make me tear up? every time!! its just!!! a beautiful culmination of all of hinatas hard work that he's put into during the year! its his change of mindset! its his growth!! he's fallen a level deeper in love with volleyball and ive fallen a level deeper in love with his character

halo around the moon <3 Tsukki's block, his hard work, his character arc and development and everything is just *chefs kiss*. i remember the first time i watched the show, i,, *hated* tsukishima, and i think we definitely arent supposed to like him at first, but GOD does that turn around!! and this moment just feels so *earned* and *epic* and in the end HE STILL ISNT SATISFIED!!!!! he STILL wanted more!!! this point was worth 100 god fucking damn!!

im talking about the inarizaki match again!! but this time with a focus on Tanaka, who kind of struggled with this match! he was in a low place during it, felt stagnated and lame. Tanaka, as a character, i would say is best characterized by his mental fortitude and stability, funny enough. He's wild, but i think part of his visual design lends that as his base (since he's often compared to buddhas/monks). But in this match, we get more depth, we see him falter and struggle! it takes more than just a slap to his cheeks to get better (tho tsukishima does point out that he gets out of his depression pretty fast) but like, tanaka uses meaningful cognition to break his rut, and its also just like, advice that I've seen used for stuff like any kind of creative block as well. The visual during the animation, he's climbing up the stairs, he's slowing down, he's coming face to face with a canyon, a plateau. He sees two options, give in, or push forward and he picks "the cooler" one, and struggles forward, forces himself ahead! and kageyama backs him up too, by not letting him back down, assuring him that his usefulness hasnt reached its end and AUGH I LOVE A TEAM YALL

For those of you who noticed ive been gone for a hot minute this is just a quick update on where I’ve been n what’s been going on all that fun stuff . For those of you who hadn’t noticed, understandable! have a nice day :>

I’ll leave the details under the cut (content warning bc I do discuss depression and eating disorders in passing, nothing explicit) but the tl;dr of it is that mental health and fuckin life have been putting me through the wringer so I took a step back from social media for like 2 months lmao sry but I’m working on myself!! and I think it’s time to just fuckin bite the bullet and come back bc I really do miss it here I miss my mutuals :c

I cant believe its been 2 months jhdsfgjhdsgf last time I posted was before Eden’s birthday now here we are it’s fuckin Leo season man the passage of time is wack. anyway storytime this past June was quite easily the worst month i have ever experienced as far as mental health goes. since deciding to drop out of studying psychology I’ve been dealing with a lot of stress re:my future and finding my path in life and idk ive just been spiralling Hard. During the worst of it I had fallen into the worst depressive episode of my life and had turned to disordered eating habits in an attempt to feel some sort of structure and normalcy and I was a miserable wreck for weeks. I wasn’t in a good mental space to be maintaining an online presence, let alone creating my own content. It had gotten to a point where I couldn’t engage in any of my hobbies because everything I made felt like shit so I would push them aside for weeks on end and eventually so much time had passed that the thought of coming back to them filled me with so much irrational anxiety and dread that all I could do was continue to avoid them and continue the cycle. u know, general clownery uwu

I won’t lie and say I’m 100% myself again tbh most if not all of these issues are still ongoing things that I’m actively working through. I’m not out of the woods yet but I’ve started taking antidepressants and talking to a therapist and spending more time with my friends and family and overall I’m in a muchmuchmuch better place than I was in June

That being said I do feel like I owe my friends and mutuals and followers an apology for essentially dropping off the face of the website and dipping for 2 months. while I can see in hindsight that my decision to take a break was a necessary one, I know that I could have done so in a way that didn’t involve me abandoning the website unannounced and making people worry about me, so for that i really am sorry :( I think I’m ready to be back and be better and just get back to enjoying mindlessly scrolling through anime

i guess i should make a journal for the past few days. as good a time as any. as AMY. heh. cuz shes super good and amazing. heh.

uh...... lessee.... for the two days after the last journal i just. hung out at the house while silly worked. i managed to not keep her in bed and make her late the second day. hung out a lot, watched more adventure time, worked on my tumblr filter script (lie. i judt ran it on my main. 200 posts / day is a bitchhhh) , played a good amount of ds3 (to pointof tetris effect at a couple points the nexg few days)

also did some like. helpful tasks. washed some dishes (undone quicklu, but. eh). not enough, mot as much as i shouldve, but... i tried i guess.

alao we've like. said the same thing at the dame time a Lot while ive been here and its like. nice. its really nice. same wavelength! i feel so close go her.

oh! alxo night before last we went grocery shoping. got food for prolly enoygh for the two weeks, but i guess we'll see. also a cheesecake! it was.... echausting. hily fuck it was exhaysting. jesus. the store was big and it took like 3 hours and $200 to get everything but. we did itttt.

we both mentionef that like. it felt nice to like. have a full fridge 2gether. cuz. it feels like were gonna have a futjre togetjer? u know. like that is. i love her a lot and it feels good for this to feel like a home for a little while. we hope that it can be so in tbe future.

so YESTERDAY she finally FINALLY taught me how to play magic the gathering. it was. a long time coming. but she brought me into the store and like. sat me down w some regulars and had me play commander. i played moooostly her snake deck, so like.that was fun!! i kept talki g about how i woulda gotten lorescale Coatl up to 39/39 and flying, had i like. gotten q more turn. but on that game D was running a mill deck that was. extremely long to play (that game took like ~>2 hours ugh), and was very bery annoying, so i didnt get to actually do that.

but it was fun! part of me wants to blog everything, but i dont think i will.

im glad to be able to use silly's decks, bc i dont think i want to make my own. im considering making a cheap angel deck or smth, but we'll see if yhat actually ends up happening.

i also met her girlfriend Iz, who is sweet. i played magic w her fkr a while, which was fun! she was runni g an annoying mono black deck (i kkow all these... these Terms and Words now, its incredible...)

shes sweet and i think i like her. dunno if enough to date yet (which makes me Partially regret flirting w her so much in the groupchat but. hey)

talked w her some, mostly about magic, hung out while silly closed the store, pet her cat, silly discovered that cyddling w TWO girlfriends is very nice (not rhat id know ;;;;;;;), was good times. i dont think im as comfy w izzy physically yet as i may have implied in messages, which hopefully wull be rectified by the message i just sent her (my initial physical comfort with people varies, it depends very much on the person)

skip forward, me and silly make a pizza at home cuz were fuckin tired, she admonishes me for not eating for uh... like 11 hours or smth (that mornings bagel was VERY good tho omg), but adderall, so like... meh.

uh... i dont think anything else on yesterday...

today! we waaamted to go to the store at like. 2. but in actuality got there at like! 330.

i went back to sleep cuz im a losenerd, and she. made this breakfast casserole thing. which hse put into a bagel abd brought to me bc i guess shes the best person on the entire earth oh my GOD. jesus

skip... apparently she knows maximum the hormone and doesnt like them very much... fair fair. (cause for xeath)

came to the store agai. tofay. it was fun and good. iz didnt come in today, do played some more with regulars. played w what is apparently called a blink deck, which revolvea arounf exiling cards then immediately bringing them back, to capitalize on "when this enters battlefield, do smth" cards. neat!

i DID actually manage to win today!!! the victory was. literally handed to me, but like. thats fine! i was playing silly's uhhh... elintor the masked? idr her name :( the mask planewalker! deck, which. i had SO much land, most of wh8ch was enchanfed. meaning it could be tapped then untapped w eljntor's thing, then tapped again for DOUBLE MANA. i mean. i had like 9/turn even b4 that but. BUT. i also had. i think i drew 3 creatures total. bit anyway. i had the white card that gave me a life whenever a creature was put on tge board (and also, w another enchantment, made all non-me creagurss and enchantments enter the board tapped, so. nya). so... rob had a card what dealt one damGe to all other players whenevr he puta. creature on the board. then he played united forces, which lets each player commit X mana to create X 1/1 soldier tokens on all players' boards. so. we made 28 white soldier tokens on everyones board. this killed perry, ans gave me, uh. 56 life (84 - 28). i then attacked ron for 28 w the soldiers, and drew sacred mesa, which lets me sacrifice 2 mana (1 any color, 1 white, but i had so many cards that said "this land can instead be tapped for 2 of any color, so like. ueah) to create a 1/1 flying pegasus token. so i. ended the game w 44 white 1/1 tokens. goblins get fucked.attack w my ssoldiers cuz his were tapped, so brought him down to 7 life. i didng catch what he did w the enchantment, but i think he said he like. put a copy of every creature on my side of the board onto his board, and then. cipying that enchantment 3 times. so. holy FUCK. wow. BUT those all came in tapped and i had 18 flying yokens, so. i still won! yay!!!! i won a game of magic!!!!!

oh, also i didnt take adderall today. i dont think it went toooo bad, i think i like. was meaner and less thohghtful with what i said, but like. i guess thats better than feared. i took a caffeine pill (200mg) at ariund 10 which is. prolly why im wide awake right now. i regret doing that, sincr from what shes said tmos gonna be big)

My Work Is Haunted by amcma10

For as long as I can remember I've always wanted to be a nurse. When I was a little girl I would transform my room into a make shift infirmary. All my dolls would be bandaged up and I would even construct IV poles complete with ziplock baggies full of water and straws connecting to my "patients".

Fast forward to present day. I now work in a long term care facility and contrary to popular belief they aren't all depressing places where families drop off once loved relatives and then forget about them. We have a terrific Activities Director who makes sure there is something special planned for our residents every day. I know this not because I actually get to witness it, but because the calendar of events is prominently displayed at the entrance and throughout the halls.

By the time I get to work, which is roughly 5 minutes before my 7p-7a shift most of the residents are finishing up with supper and after their meds are dispensed they retire to their rooms for the night.

What I have neglected to mention about my place of employment is that it actually consists of two buildings. The main building or A building is a large brick structure that sits right up against the main road and the back building aka B building is much smaller and is connected to the larger building by a long covered breezeway.

I work in the B building which is the newest part of our facility that was constructed during the late 80's. The main building is much older, originally constructed in 1952 and was once the only hospital in the small rural town where I live. It was run by Catholic nuns and saw it's fair share of tragedy and unimaginable heartache. Some of the "lifers", a term of endearment we give our long time employees who transitioned over to the LTC facility after the hospital shut down used to regale us with stories that were both hysterical and soul numbing. While those tales were often embellished I could reference some of the facts from our "death book".

I remember the first time I had to access this book, I had only been on the job for a week when one of our geriatric residents passed away. All deaths must be recorded with the following: name, date, age of deceased, time of death, next of kin, address, followed by our signature.

When the hospital was in operation the "manner of death" was also listed. So many young lives taken too soon by accidental drownings, gun shot wounds, stabbings, MVA. I hate that damn book and have been vocal about our need for a new one. Unfortunately this is the way things are done in my county and for now the death book stays.

If any of you have ever worked in LTC then you are well aware that if anything can go wrong it does go wrong after midnight. Confused residents fall out of the bed, scream out due to hallucinations, attempt to leave AMA etc. Anyone who thinks "night shift nurses" have it easy need to be throat punched.

In any case, when we have someone in need of a safety alarm such as a bed alarm or chair alarm there is only one place at my work that houses the spare equipment.

The old ER, or dungeon as we call it. It is in the basement portion of the main building that also houses the kitchen, custodial offices, employee break room, an old chapel and several conference rooms. I hate going down there and usually I enlist the help of one of the CNA's to accompany me. This was mainly just for safety reasons. Once, a drunk man was able to gain access to the back door where the time clock was located and was found passed out against a drink machine near the employee break room. He was completely oblivious to where he was when the cops showed up and took him off in handcuffs.

In order to get to where the spare equipment room is located you must go through the swinging metal doors leading to the old ER. Past the doors there are several round metal speaker systems that hang out from the top of the walls and an assortment of old signage directing patients to the front desk, bathrooms, exam rooms and the radiology department. It truly looks like you stepped into an old episode of the Twilight Zone. Trust me when I say that walking down these halls by yourself is extremely unsettling.

Any way, about the dungeon. One night last November I needed a bed alarm for one of our newer residents who had fallen out of bed twice within 3 hours. Its our policy after the 2nd documented fall then we institute soft restraint measures to prevent injury. Being short a CNA that particular night I was forced to retrieve the alarm myself since there had to always be one employee on the floor at all times and Grace, one of my "lifer's" was elbow deep in shit at that moment.

It was a little past midnight when I grabbed my coat exited out into the frigid night walking the breezeway leading into the main building. The door to the main building from the breezeway opened up to a dimly lit hallway where directly in front of the doors stood a single elevator. I observed that the elevator door leading upstairs to the main floors was open. Odd. Unless someone is entering the elevator or exiting it the door remain closed. As if reading my thoughts the elevator door slowly closed and I watched as the "up arrow" glowed brightly.

I'm one of those people who can generally get freaked out by the slightest thing so already I was dreading my trek down the hall to the equipment room. As I walked along the corridor leading to the swinging metal doors it felt like the heating system was on the brinks. I could almost see my breath that's how drastically the temperature change was. In that moment I remembered every horror/scary movie I had ever seen where a sudden drop in ambient temperature meant that ghosts were present. I tried humming the Pharrell Williams song "Happy" to keep my mind from going to those terrifying thoughts.

After pushing through the metal doors I thought I saw a glimpse of movement off to my right. Perhaps one of the other nurses or CNA's from the two upper floors were down here getting equipment as well and I chastised myself for being such a scaredy-cat.

I quickened my steps and made it to the door marked "Radiology" which was where all our extra equipment was stored. During the time the hospital was in operation this was where all the x-rays were performed and it still held some of the ancient machines. I could hear movement as if someone were pushing a wheelchair or stretcher out of the way and again relief washed over me.

I opened the door and was immediately struck with fear. There was no one else in the room! Despite its size I would have been able to see someone even if they were crouched down looking through one of the storage bins. The air again was even more frigid in the room, so cold in fact that I actually could see my breath in front of me.

It felt downright silly but I uttered a shrill "Hello?" as I took a few steps inside. The door slammed shut behind me. Panic was now reaching every cell of my body and I could hear and feel my heart as it bounded in my chest. My mind raced as I turned behind me and tried the door knob. It was locked! I was way past terrified at this point and started banging on the door shouting at the top of my lungs. My voice bounced off the sickening green cement blocks that made up the walls. "Help!" I continued to scream to no avail. Then it happened.

A voice, so soft and faint came from the other side of the door. "Is it time?"

I moved back from the door and detected movement from the other side however even with the dim fluorescent light fixtures in the hall there should have been a shadow.

I swallowed hard even though my mouth was dry and my throat burned from my screaming. I listened again, waiting and the voice a little louder asked "I'm ready to go, is it time?" After those words were again uttered the soft sniffles of a child crying echoed through the room I was in. I remained motionless, frozen by fear when I heard another voice, much older say "Come on Lily, this way." I could hear the sound of footsteps leading away from the door.

Not even a minute later the door opened behind me and I screamed when I heard my name. "Janie?" He looked bewildered. It was Steve, one of the new CNA's from the 2nd floor coming to get a wheelchair. I must have looked like a ghost myself as I'm sure all the color had drained from my face. "Jesus they need to get the heat fixed down here" he said as he moved past me to grab the chair.

"Could you wait, just a minute while I grab a chair alarm?" I asked. Steve looked at me funny before breaking into a grin. "Why? You scared?" he snickered. Asshole.

Nevertheless he waited while I grabbed the alarm and I hauled ass down the hall and then broke into a jog after exiting the building before punching the code to get into my own building.

I made it back to my nurse's station and handed the alarm to Grace, the older CNA who had been keeping a watch on the halls and told her to take it to room 301. When she rounded the hall I opened my desk drawer and pulled out the death book. I don't know why I was compelled to do so but after flipping through and skimming several names I saw what made my heart drop to my stomach. NAME: Lily Robertson DATE: October 5th 1958, AGE: 5 CAUSE OF DEATH: Blunt force trauma to the head. I now know without a doubt that my work is haunted and sadly it was not an isolated incident.

When they don’t stay dead.  Part 2

A/N:  Never mind Force-ghosts and the odd nightsister… Star Wars is full of the undead.  These are bits and pieces based on the old canon derived from the novel “Death Troopers” by Joe Schreiber, published in 2009.  It established a zombie plague in the Star Wars old canon universe. It takes place about a year and half before episode IV, featuring Han and Chewbacca in a classic escape the Zombie hordes scenario.  A fun romp if you have a mind to read it.

Zombies have carried over to the new Disney canon in the pre-ESB era to include all of our ANH heroes in the video game Star Wars: Commander. Which might be explored here. Along with the vampiric Crimson Queen of Ktath’atn, presented in the new Marvel Doctor Aphra series; there will be plenty of zombies for an intrepid smuggler to deal with.

So as this is a horror romp: Lots of warnings apply.  Gore, angst, violence, etc. No Beta readers were harmed in its production, as it’s impossible to find someone to Beta cheezy horror fics.

1.5 BBY - after the evacuation of the Imperial Star Destroyer Vector

The abandoned Imperial prison barge Purge’s former chief medical officer Doctor Zahara Cody wrapped up the medisensor of the stolen Imperial shuttle. Disconnecting the leads from the module, she tossed the probe’s sanitary covers into the disposal receptacle at her feet. She pushed up her visor and noticed a shallow scrape on her patient’s shoulder. Touching it with gentle prodding fingers, she gave it last look, ensuring it was not greying at the edges like a claw or bite mark from an Infected.  One of those, from where they had just escaped; would be a quick death sentence for the young smuggler, and perhaps anyone eventually within reach.  But it was healing well under the bacta salve, and Cody began pulling off her gloves in satisfaction.

“The I71A virus pathogen in your bloodstream, has fallen to levels undetectable by this set of equipment. “ She tossed the gloves in the disposal, taking a step back to allow Solo to stand up from the examination table.  As the Corellian reached for his trousers and shirt, Cody’s eyes raked over Solo’s lean form appreciatively.  Doctor or no, she was still a woman, one who could and did separate duty from pleasure; but as humanoid males went, the smuggler captain Han Solo was easier on the eyes than most.  Zahara tucked away a small smile, thankful for the brief distraction from the horrors they’d just been through mere days earlier.  She made a show of packing up the sensor module, while pretending not to watch him.

“‘Undetectable,’ not gone, though...Right Doc?” Solo asked, muffled by the cotton fabric he was pulling over his tousled brown head of hair.  Bronzed muscle bunched and flexed across his scarred torso.  Doc turned her back to him as his hazel eyes caught hers, glittering with amusement at her attention.  “Any chance it might come back? Could I infect others...Or-, or change like those-, those zombie things.” Solo gestured with his thumb behind him, indicating the undead hordes they’d escaped a few days earlier.

“No.” Doctor Cody interrupted. “ Shouldn’t anyway.  The Sickness was a local hive virus.  It would need to replicate enough of itself to attain that self-awareness it requires to ‘wake up.’ Since the four of us are hardly enough sustainable infected cellular biomass for activation, it should be safe.  Though it’ll be safer if we split up, as suggested.”

“So, it’s not liable to mutate. Letsay like a cold or flu?”

Doctor Cody paused, thinking.  Solo had a point.  She’d used the onboard computers patched into the med-bay to perform analysis after analysis - running it through the medical simulators.  She’d been looking for mutations that could result in different infection vectors. The chances were low, to the point of one in quadrillions.  The virus degraded, as it was dependant on that core sentient bio-mass. Though, as in all things there was always a chance.

“Of course. Yes it almost certainly will, if given chance.  But as for a more virulent strain, or easier vectors - I’m not sure it can get worse. Odds are pretty low.” she muttered. “BUT, You are not a naturally immune individual, only immunized.  There’s always the chance the immunity may fade with time.” Cody waggled a finger in Solo’s face for emphasis.

“Odds have a way of catching up with me, or me with them. Not a big believer in ‘em.” Solo grunted, tugging on a tattered pair of second-hand trousers that hung off his narrow hips, yet remained centimeters too short for his long frame.  Solo puffed at it in exasperation, “Damn pants…” He sniffed, then scowled at the rough tan workboots he’d scavenged from a tech's locker onboard the stolen vessel.  “I don’t need to worry about-, y’know- dyin’ in the wrong place, and um...comin’ back.”

Cody rolled her eyes and snatched the boots from him, spraying the interior with a readily available disinfectant. She handed them back, dangling them off her pinkie by their bindings.

“Not unless the virus mutates and adapts.  It's DNA chain - as it is, is very fragile.  It's showing signs of breaking into unduplicatable segments in your bloodstream, despite persistent attempts to bond to your human DNA. Unless your body somehow harbors the virus in some reservoir like your lymphatic system, or your liver, or in the dense bundles of neurons...” Here Doctor Cody lost her patience, “It can change, okay. It might.  It might not.  It’s so hard to know….Whatever! I can't predict everything.” She slammed the lid shut on a medical equipment case harder than she intended. A piece of plastic broke off the hinge and now the lid wobbled. Cursing, she shoved it into its resident compartment. Her body was numb, her mind on hyperdrive with guilt and what-if scenarios. Her eyes stung, and she swiped at them with the heel of her palm. Cody collapsed onto a nearby stool, barely holding herself together.

The doctor in Cody would immediately suggest counselling, anti depressants— probably antipsychotics if she'd heard the resultant story without knowing better. Actually she’d most likely recommend sedation in case of another violent psychotic episode - under Imperial medical protocol, of course.

Doctor Cody silently filed her self-diagnosis away for later.

“Hey-,” Cody jumped. Warm, not the terror of icy fleshless hands, closed around the curve of her shoulder. “You did good Doc.” Solo said in a surprisingly soft voice. “You saved who you could. And Chewie and me really owe you one.”

“ I don't want to be responsible for the next outbreak.” Cody admitted quietly. She marvelled at how the smuggler was coping.  How any of them were holding themselves together? How many thousands died on that Star Destroyer? How many millions if this got planetside somewhere?

Could any of them ever be safe? Or were they themselves now the biggest risk?

“You won't be. Chewie‘n me made a deal ‘tween us. One takes out the other if something happens with this virus. It's the only deal we got like that. Y’see it violates his life-debt. But even the Wook thinks this is too important.” Sensing, that Cody had calmed, Solo stepped back. He did a quick spin on his heel, displaying his array of sagging, mismatched cast offs; which made Cody choke back a laugh.

“Very lovely. Ready for a Royal ball.” Cody teased. “It might be an improvement on the prison uniform,” she observed wryly, crossing her arms and leaning against the narrow bulkhead. “ At least you won’t get arrested as soon as we land.”

“That bad? Huh…” Solo grimaced down his secondhand clothing. He fetched the salvaged blaster from his dwindling pile of undonned gear. Twirling the weapon around his finger with a flourish, he dropped it into the dipped hollow between his hip and belt, and held out his hands - palms up and hip-cocked like the rogue he was. “Good thing, there’s no royalty in my future. Huh?”

The doctor let out a sarcastic laugh, “Not likely.  Especially if you don’t get up to this shuttle’s wreck of a cockpit so we can get to a decent port.”

The smuggler tossed Cody a smirk and a wink.  With a sharp salute, Solo then bowed gallantly and swung out into the hall in a swaggering canter, intent on getting them all to safety. Despite his performance, Cody was still hesitant about their prospects. They could never reveal what they'd been through. To anyone–ever. Nobody in their right mind would believe them. And individuals who carried knowledge of a hideous failed Imperial bio-weapon would be quickly silenced before they could fancy getting anyone to believe them in the first place.  And then there was that stigma of potentially being carriers of future infection.

Cody would remain with the naturally immune boy, Trig Longo. The two immunized smugglers would carry on together.  For the most part, they would never speak of the Purge and the Star Destroyer Vector again, unless it was a confession well-greased by triple-digit proof alcoholic spirits.

It was a secret they all would die with.

Assuming they actually stayed down and dead when that time came.
