I really do wonder if there was a point when William was a good father to Vanessa.

I'm not saying he never cared for her, but was there a point before the murders where he acted like a normal dad? Fussed over her, went to her dance recitals, helped her with homework, braided her hair, made her birthday cake, etc. He could have done this after the murders as well, but I feel like once Vanessa knew he killed, that forever changed their dynamic. He was not just her father. He was her father and the man who murdered her friends.
