double posting but i HAVE to get this conversation i had with one of my friends last night out into jrwiblr

listen. we all like /r ships!! or at least tolerate them. but. god damnit i prioritize good friendship building

immediately riptide comes to mind because yeah i do love fnc romantically but god damnit theyre best friends. these two things can coexist, but if i had to choose, id absolutely hope they had a fucking banger friendship.

i think i treasure just albatrios friendship alltogether. im a jay ferin enjoyer (and if you arent youre WRONG) and i fucking adore her dynamic with these two equally loser guys. her dynamic with chip means so much to me (it reminds me of me and my found sibling. albatrio is us and our other one fr fr!!!) and im SO tired of people sleeping on it. im also a navyseal enjoyer 💪💪 /p or /r

and i wanna say that a lot of fandoms minimize characters in ships to just that: part of a ship. i fucking hate it

people act like lizzie has no character outside of pistolwhip. i love her cringefail strong lady autism. cocme on.

this is a problem i see with a lot of fandoms, not just jrwi, and tumblr does their best to avoid doing this but i still!!1!! god

every jrwi character in any campaign does have a distinct personality by themselves, and im always going to advocate for people to see it. these characters are all fucking masterfully written and played. im so glad jrwi characters dont just have two personality traits and call it a day (though ive seen a lot of people say this about them which??? where is that coming from).

i mean, i just really prefer a ship to Add to a character than Be their character. (tangent: i am a horror movie fan. ive watched tons of slashers. if you write horror. do not make this mistake. do not be final destination 3.) any relationship between characters, friendly, romantic, hostile, anything. should not be their only personality trait. and jrwi does this shit perfectly

i love every character individually first, but its hard to not love them as groups aswell. i mean for fucks sakes the campaigns DEPEND on them being teams because its fucking dnd, but its the characters in a vacuum that really makes me love them.

i dont just love timothy rand for being part of nbr. i love him because hes a paranoid, stupid autism boy who is so hung up on his past it literally fucking tries to kill him. i love dakota cole because he wants to believe the world is naturally good, because he wants people to have a chance, and because hes so fucking relatable to an autistic audience. i love peter sqloint because hes a nerdy guy collecting rocks and his “only character motivation” was finding a log for his pet lizard. i love jay ferin because shes carving her own path, learning to live for others instead of survive, and fighting for what she really fucking believes in.

this even applies to npcs. every fucking jrwi character ive seen so far is endearing as hell and thats so important to me. theyre all distinct in their own ways and its taking over my brain.

Also like, people ignore the fact that, given how Laudna was chased away for several years, it's to be expected that she would keep a few things close to her chest, such as romantic/platonic feelings toward another person, also it's kind of to be expected that Laudna would have feelings toward Imogen and not wanting to admit them or to compartmentalize them

So breaking this down:

I actually don’t think it’s automatic that Laudna wouldn’t admit to romantic feelings! It’s definitely on the table that she’s suppressing or denying romantic feelings, but I’m really hesitant to make any assumptions, and I happen to be very interested in the case where Laudna’s telling the simple truth.

I will say I haven’t seen that comment regarding 4SD nor do I know what they’re even referring to; the only thing I can think of that Marisha’s said on 4SD that would be out of place for a very close friendship is the recent lightning titties joke and I personally am chalking that up to Marisha thinking it’s cool, not necessarily Laudna, though it’s ambiguous.

I do agree that the crux of why I’ve actively disliked this ship rather than being neutral - since in a vacuum with no fandom contact, I think I'd just be apathetic - has been that there is such a narrow and monolithic fanon that doesn’t really match the characters as they actually have been acting in canon, created by a fandom which attacks anything that deviates. Again - it’s interesting to consider why Imogen, who has a complicated relationship with her father, is so willing to prioritize either the mother she’s known about for a month and a half, or her own comfort and power, over her party members, including Laudna. I don’t enjoy that people react with such hostility towards exploration of that topic simply because it upsets their personal desires. I’ve also been frustrated by yes, the reduction of a story that’s not inherently a romance into nothing more than that, and the reduction of guest actors to “outsider who exists to ask Imogen about Laudna or Laudna about Imogen” instead of “person with their own rich life.”

I guess what I’m saying here is I share a lot of your frustrations about people jumping to conclusions and building up a cherrypicked fanon that will throw anyone - including Imogen and Laudna, or Laura and Marisha - under the bus, and blowing one relationship out of more than twenty out of proportion, but that’s been a problem basically from the start of the campaign, so this is just more of the same. But it also feels like you’re saying “I think Laudna is hiding her feelings for one of a number of (very feasible) reasons” and I’m of the opinion that while that’s absolutely possible, it’s more fun to me to consider the situation in which she is being honest.

I personally think throughout the flashback and present-day arc that nhs is having his own epic romance with some kind of fascinating nobleman but we don't see it because it's not relevant to wei wuxian's journey

i have nothing against narusasu, in fact, i understand why an immense amount of people ship them. but i can't help but feel its queerbaiting? what do you think? at the end of the day, it's all business. kishi and the executives know that narusasu is the most famous ship so they took advantage of that. the canon ships are all just collateral and ways to create a new generation. it's like their thinking, "oh it doesn't matter if we haven't put any effort in developing the canon couples. as long as there's a new generation, we're good. we have narusasu anyways to keep majority of the fans engaged but we can't make them canon cuz otherwise, no kids. no new gen. no new series. no money." yes, developing a story as large as naruto ain't easy. there were other heavy plots to be addressed which are the main themes of naruto. romance is the least thing of significance but godammit, the way they executed the canon couples is so cheap and poor. i used to ship ss and it's really disappointing how these two characters' development got butchered. they should've just remained friends in the end if canon is how they're currently being handled. it's really telling that genin ss had more development and moments than shipuuden ss & adult ss combined. you're right, platonic sasusaku is underrated.

i honestly dont know. i wouldnt call it queerbaiting; personally, i think all the queer interpretations of sns are completely unintentional on kishimoto's part. and i dont know enough about the popularity of naruto ships to say for sure that sns is the most famous.

plus, with queerbaiting, there also has to be an expectation of representation. i for one never expected romantic sns to be canon, and most of sns fandom didnt either (im assuming).

i agree that the main ships (naruhina and sasusaku) werent developed very well at all. it feels like their romantic moments were just sprinkled in, rather than truly developed and prioritized as part of the storyline and greater narrative. for instance, compare the development of naruto's canon ships to the development of bleach or atla's canon ships. you can tell kubo and bryke actually cared enough about ichihime, renruki, kataang, and maiko, because the romantic relationships actually mattered to the plot, characters, and the main themes.

ichihime and renruki's relationships contributed significantly to bleach's themes of protecting loved ones and being protected by them. kataang and maiko's relationships contributed significantly to atla's commentary on imperialism, grief/loss, forgiveness/redemption, and choosing love over power/nationalism. meanwhile, naruhina and sasusaku's relation to naruto's main themes were put on the backburner. there was potential, but to me, it feels like kishimoto just didnt care enough about the romances to make them essential to the story he was telling.

and yes, platonic sasusaku is underrated. i wish there was more content, but we cant have it all 😞

just in case you're interested, here's one of my favorite naruto fanfics (x). it's sakura-centric and very focused on sasusaku friendship. i cant recommend it enough; the characterization, relationship development, and take on chakra theory are so good

(tbh, the more i think about it, the more i feel my preferance for platonic sasusaku is due to the way naruto fanfic writers portray it in contrast to romantic sasusaku. the platonic sasusaku fics i've read tend to have better characterization, in contrast with the romantic sasusaku fics i've (tried to) read)

Ok second half of this; this is just like. non-students who i Actually have thought about HJBAFV not at all a comprehensive list. Again disclaimer i write all these chars as bi in my fics, also i am bi myself so the vast majority are also bi, and also leaving a lot of these vague so u can imagine ur favorite ship or urself or w/ever

ok lets start this off with Aizawa. I think....... hes another one who's rlly unlabelled, doesnt super care to think it through and define it, but calls himself gay bc his interest in women is very, very rare and it's just way easier to say than explain all that. Definitely do buy into the idea that he had a crush on Oboro in hs but i do NOT buy into the easermic agenda sorry. Definitely not someone who goes looking for dates, but doesn't say no if someone asks him and hes interested (also im not gonna give her a whole section but i saw a hc a while back that the Ms. Joke stuff is literally that shes a lesbian and hes gay and shes fucking with him and i love that so much i just wanted to put it out there)

on the topic of the erasermic agenda: Hizashi's pan and knew it before HS, had a sudden & intense crush on Aizawa for the first month they knew each other and then immediately got over it in favor of a similar sudden, intense, and then immediately fading crush on Midnight. Hizashi and Aizawa r just rlly good friends imo; maybe they messed around for a bit in their twenties but it never went anywhere serious. He dates around a lot, not even necessarily to settle down just to have some fun

Midnight is aro/ace but does get in qprs & gravitates towards women wrt that. Most people dont read vigilantes but theres a woman in that, Kazuho, who i imagine she's been in a long-term qpr with; her relationship with aizawa and hizashi leans a little more towards a qpr than a normal friendship, too, but it's not rlly defined that way

All Might is married to justice queer but v much not interested in relationships. He and that one guy from the first movie are ABSOLUTELY exes and i won't hear otherwise; it's the only relationship he's ever had, and they broke up bc he had to go back to japan. He was heartbroken but did eventually get over him; his lack of romance afterwards is from genuine disinterest and not being hung up on his past. I can see him finding someone else in his later years, after he's retired. Definitely feels like he's not worthy of it tho

Hawks is bi but unfortunately didn't get to figure that out until like Now in the timeline...... if youll let my dabihawks history shine through i think dabi was the reason JHBASFGJHB he was basically brainwashed by the commission to become a hero so he didnt have time to Figure That Shit Out; he knew he was into women bc that was easy & what the commission expected from him but then he started this undercover assignment and met dabi and realized Oh...... Fuck. Hawks is hard tbh, bc i think between the control that the commission has over him and his own convictions as a hero he doesn't pursue any romance (tho he does get crushes or find people attractive) and most of his flings are done to keep up his prettyboy act, not out of genuine interest in being a fuckboy. Can't imagine him having a relationship until well after canon but I do see him being interested eventually

Onto the villains, Shigaraki is unlabelled but probably would call himself queer if asked. Definitely admires women more but isn't very interested in romance; AFO actively encourages him to pursue the things interested in so imo if he were he'd talk abt it more lmfao. I kinda see him as demi as well, not the type to fall immediately but requiring a friendship beforehand; tho unlike Bakugo as i said in my last post I dont think it happens suddenly but rather slowly. Y'all know im a big fan of shigaraki being absolutely whipped for his s/o so i do thing hes a big piner, tho he's also pretty bold and unashamed of his affections. I'm a big fan of him falling for a member of the league or a civilian; definitely can't see him falling for a hero unless the hero was already halfway to turning sides already. I think he's also attracted to intelligence and someone who pushes him to think more abt his ideology...... maybe im just projecting at this point JSHDFBVAJKSHD but my point is that the gender of his partner is definitely the least of what he considers/notices

Dabi is bi and, here's my bold take, demisexual; not interested in sex unless its with someone he loves. Absolutely doesn't even think abt romance for most of the years where he's on his own. He's got revenge to plan. By the time he joins the league that hasn't changed much, and he's demi so he's not interested in sleeping around, plus he rlly denies any attachment to people at all. As I said in that other ask tho I do rlly like the idea of him with Magne, so I think they have a fling for a bit before her death :( it's one of the things that leads him to isolate himself further, unfortunately, even from Jin and the other League members with whom his relationships aren't romantic. I can see him dating someone post-canon bc i think hes gonna be redeemed lol. It could be someone he knew before but they probably didnt date again bc he was v guarded; i think magne was rlly the only person he dated

Magne is pan and heres the kicker: I think shes t4t, which led to a little moment just before she and dabi got together where he was like "she wouldnt be into me :/" but she was into him anyway so all was good. She got around in her circles, mostly casual stuff tho she yearned for something more serious.

Spinner's bi & trends towards women but does occasionally get things for men and they're almost always intense. He thought he was straight for a while even once he joined the league and then suddenly got a crush on Shigaraki (around the time of MVA) and realized otherwise LMFAO he's definitely a hopeless romantic type, the whole mutant prejudice thing makes it rlly hard for him and i can see him being rlly happy with another mutant-type; i feel like as he matures he starts to gravitate towards them

Toga is canonically pan to my understanding, iirc her interest in Uraraka and Deku is the same (and romantic) in canon tho i might be wrong. Poor girl just needs therapy. I like the idea of the two of them becoming her friends over her being involved with them but i totally can get behind her having a thing with Uraraka (and maybe Tsu) at some point post-canon (presuming she gets redeemed), tho I think a qpr between the two/three of them would be longer lasting. And again presuming she gets therapy i can see her settling down with someone, gender irrelevant

Jin is unlabelled bc he hasn't much thought abt it, definitely had a thing for dabi and for hawks which does make me sad on both counts. I think he likes women slightly more abstractly/aesthetically and gets crushes more on men,. The dabi thing fades as they get closer and start to view each other as brothers. In his later years he doesn't rlly care about romance, I think he enjoys the experience of crushing but doesnt like dating people; his found family in the League is far more important to him. But i can see him falling head-over-heels for someone quite suddenly and having a bit of a whirlwind romance. Also someone for whom gender isn't much of a factor

Mr Compress is also queer and also hasn't rlly thought abt it. Definitely leans more towards women; he's like 30 but i like to think he also goes for older partners, 10 or 15 years his senior KJBADSJFHB idk he just has that Vibe with the way he calls himself an old man etc. A lot of the league i cant see sleeping or dating around much, i feel like they prioritize each other, but I do think mr compress gets around more than the others. i can see him having a bit of a fuckbuddy who he catches feelings for

Kurogiri is fun; as Oboro I do think Aizawa's crush was reciprocated, tho he wasn't around long enough for them to act on it :( he's bi, tho kurogiri isn't supposed to have personal interests. I like to imagine the brainwashing isnt as good as AFO wants it to be tho so I like the idea of him falling for someone anyway. I also like the idea of the heroes managing to undo the nomufication and I 100% can see him, aizawa, and someone else (someone he was involved with as Kurogiri) ending up in a triad as a result of aizawa and the third partner helping him through the aftermath of all that shit

Lady Nagant is a manga-only minor character but im in love with her so imma talk abt it. Shes bi and leans VERY heavily towards women, probably spent years questioning whether she was rlly bi or a lesbian before finally having a fling with a guy that she genuinely enjoyed. Has only ever been in long-term relationships with women and I v much think she has a gf at home who stayed even when she was arrested 🥺

Finally imma talk abt Natsuo bc i love that boy. He's one of the few unmarried chars with a love interest and he canonically has a gf. I do see him as IDing straight in canon ngl, but the kind of straight where he might actually be bi but his preference leans so heavily towards women and he grew up in a bad home so he just doesnt rlly think abt it bc hes v happy with women anyway. In shiganatsu thoughts shigaraki is the first man he has a thing for; i rlly can see the two of them in a triad with a woman specifically, who helps the two of them find each other and is the one who initiates bc its definitely a weird situation for natsuo

I've said this before but it doesnt hurt to say it again: badass craig does not exist. Craig's favorite show is red racer, he has a pet guinea pig named stripe that he prioritizes over half the fucking people he knows, he's incredibly soft for his fucking boyfriend and the only "badass" thing he does is...be blunt?flip people off? like what. king smoked in one episode and yall made him into this cool dude who gets mad bitches which, like I said in kenny's thing, is weird, even moreso bc he canonically has only shown interest in his current boyfriend and like maybe a girl every once in a great fucking while pre-dating tweek? also most of those badass traits are jus man acting neurodivergent asf 😭😭 like it's cool if you think they're badass but the jump from man being monotone, blunt and having the repetitive motion of flipping people off to he's a bad boy who FUCKS is so weird like why does this exist!! why!!!!

Well... the question focuses on my opinion on which ship has more chances to become canon, right?

I’ve spent some time thinking about my answer to this question, how I could go direct to the point while giving enough arguments to defend my opinion. Prepare yourself because I couldn’t and this will be very long. Sorry...

1. Eren’s characterization + romance

First of all, there is a very important point about Eren that shipers (even me sometimes) forget. A friend that loves and understand Eren the most pointed this many times when I was starting to forget about it... I dare to say that nobody surpasses her understanding of his characterization.

Eren isn’t a romantic person. We all have to keep in mind that his priorities aren’t the priorities a normal person would have. He is like Rick from Casablanca. There’s the duty and then dreams and then, maybe, romantic love (If we take for granted that he knows what it is). Erwin loved Marie but he had a priority. (There’s me finding more similarities between Erwin and Eren). Eren’s current development is more about his mission than a romantic one. Although he plays with romance, he does it while being blatantly blind about it.

Eren got caught in the middle of his normal development from a child that gets annoyed by romance and has some kind of allergy against cheesy moments (for ex. in ch. 3 with Franz and Hannah) to a teenager that blooms to feel romantic love as something important and unavoidable. It’s normal for kids. But Eren hasn’t a normal life. There was always something more important than learning how to love, be loved and express it openly. It’s not that he isn’t able to love, more likely the opposite. He knows how to love and he has his own ways to do it... but the way the world is restricted his possibilities to live a different life. Even in the way EMA never got to communicate properly most of the times. Communication runs sometimes as a question, a statement and no back question (for ex. ch. 3). Eren asked about Mikasa’s reasons to follow him, about Armin’s reasons, where he threw that line about his death being meaningless. Nobody said anything, neither Mikasa nor Eren reacted stating the opposite. They usually don’t have the time nor oportunity to talk or even think about essential topics as feelings of love or labeling their feelings.

Given Eren’s lack of experience and maturity that we could see until Marley arc. Is it even possible that he developed a carnal relationship with Historia before going to Marley? No. No, because it would contradict somehow his characterization. Eren is depicted exactly as someone that took this decision because he lost every single deep bond that would have stopped him. This lack of understanding brought him to this point. The lack of value he places on life and a comfortable life with friends and family.

2. The baby

The whole baby plot point is from my perspective just about the curse and a new generation (maybe) free from being SoY but just normal human beings.

Historia choosing this way was also the safest way to oppose her destiny... strategically speaking. She could trick everyone without being called openly a traitor. So I’m agree with you. Her question wasn’t romantic.

3. The father and his meaning

The father is, as I pointed out once in my Twitter acc., the farmer. My reasons are that there is a meaning behind his existence. He was a boy that dared Historia to break the rules and stop being submissive. He is aligned with Historia’s current role as someone who stopped being the good girl that follows stupid and detrimental rules in disregard of her own life. He is also a man that decided to redeem himself by helping her with the orphanage without trying to get her attention at all. Being a normal person who enjoys a normal life and also redemption. I’m not saying necessarily that it’s about love, but he isn’t just a nobody. He holds a deep, positive meaning for the story. Isayama pairs usually a sinner and an “innocent”: Annie and Armin, Eren and Mikasa, Erwin and Levi, Ymir and Krista, Historia and the Farmer. Eren and Historia are the current sinners on the matter that both chose the rumbling... let’s say.

Why this kind of pairing? Because one has to contribute to the improvement of the other. Two sinners (with the same crime and perspective) can’t help each other. It’s opposition what will bring them to overcome their weaknesses.

4. Development of the couples

That being said, Eren and Mikasa as pair are in the focus. Isayama went through 10 years of development of most of the pairs to build up a support for EreMika. He build parallels with YumiHisu and Falbi and gave us hints to understand EM better. The vow he made to her was probably one of those moments when he started to be romantic without noticing.

5. Eren and Historia: their moments

EH interactions are, conversely, of other nature. Both feel related about the point of carrying a big burden. While Eren has to save humanity fighting, Historia has the role of a founder who has to assure humanity’s survival by having children and keeping the royal family alive. Both want to be free from that burden and end up being “partners in crime” by betraying everyone. I’m missing the romantic interactions to be very honest. It’s because Eren is so self-focused that he anchors here when someone who is alone and having the same problems and feelings appears. But... where did the fandom start to see something between them?

Two moments. The moment when he said “she is admirable” and the moment when he insisted to spare her life. That obsession that is so tricky to even be explained.

The first one made a difference between how Eren acknowledges Historia’s attributes and disregards Mikasa’s. The fandom uses this to point out that Eren likes Historia more. Well, no. His relationship towards Mikasa was characterized by jealousy. He won’t admit anything.

Regarding his “obsession” to save her... this started when he knew the existence of Eren Krüger, his thoughts and the whole story about Dina. It wasn’t before that. We must also admit that Historia’s safety was related to more characters than just Eren. Since the very beginning, her safety was conveniently displayed by Frieda, Ymir and Reiner, what makes me believe that her destiny was to give birth to this baby (aka. plot armor). Her role is to avoid becoming a titan by her own choice, that’s her arc. With Krüger we also knew the importance of a royal: they can give birth to more convenient instruments for war. Knowing that he was devoted to the mission, I believe that Eren is being influenced by him (I want to highlight the word “influenced” as something different to manipulated). So this is all related to the mission and the final outcome about Ymir, the curse, the power and the baby. Eren partly wants to grant her the chance to choose, but he also pushes her to do so based on part of her desires because of the mission as he did with Grisha.

Add here the fact that Historia was prepared to sacrifice his life at the cave if it was needed. That shows her priorities.

A lot of EH shippers claim that she saved him. Regarding her role as savior, I’m more objective and skeptical. She spared his life, but emotionally speaking, she didn’t really save him. The proof is that he was still low, thinking that he was a nobody. Carla’s words were the message with enough impact to relieve him and make him open himself to Armin and Mikasa and tell them about his sorrows. This shows the difference on the impact on him when it comes to Historia and when it comes to Carla... this happens again in ch. 131. He thinks about his mother instead of Historia who was the one reproving his plan. To me, Historia is his friend and inspired him to fight just for his sake against the system and rebel those who are over him and oppressing him. But his soft side is related to Carla, Armin and Mikasa: his family and those, who appreciate his life over his fate and urge of freedom and to be acknowledged.

Bonus: when Eren told Historia that she saved him was more like “You chose this path once and I’m sorry. I’ll be starting the rumbling and you contributed”. Historia’s face to that looks like this: “Oh no...I fucked up”. It doesn’t look like “Oh no... I don’t regret saving you because I love you and I can’t live without you”. On the contrary, that’s when she realizes that she was part of this since the beginning and that by saving him, she chose to let the rumbling happen once in the past. Then she goes along with the plan for her own reasons and because she hasn’t better options to choose either.

Summary:

Eren didn’t develop as a romantic person yet nor prioritized romantic love over his mission. It goes against a previous explicit development of EH before the trip to Marley. The farmer has a positive meaning as the father. EM is more developed and shows romantic undertones and common tropes. EH hasn’t romantic undertones and it’s more related to the mission to save the eldians.

i could go on and on about glee bc there are 12 billion things to say (and the show is super long). but i think my most controversial opinions are:

i dont ship finchel or klaine. at all.

i can explain. i have a love/hate (but mostly hate) relationship with rachel as a character. sometimes i feel bad for her bc its clear shes struggling and insecure and shes a flawed female character which we need to appreciate. BUT she is just so unbearably annoying, selfish, and awful to everyone around her, and season 5 was the point where i finally made a decision. i dont like her. similarly, i hate finn bc he is overglorified by the other characters on the show, without any actions supporting it. they all say that finn is their leader, that hes the nicest guy ever, and praise him like a hero when in reality, he calls people slurs, outs them in the hallway, cheats on his girlfriends, and just overall acts like a douche towards anyone he doesnt immediately understand or relate to or wanna fuck. they all SAY hes amazing, but his actions just do not support that at all, and thats bad writing imo. i think because those characters are awful, their relationship is a colossal mess, and i think if i had to choose a definitive least favorite point for them, it would be when finn beat brody up for dating rachel. like what did the show want us to appreciate about that??? thats not romantic at all!!! thats disgusting and a sign that finn needs help. physically threatening people who date your exes? who does that??? and we’re supposed to think its cute bc he says “my future wife.” mhm. sure.

i hate klaine bc while i love kurt, i think blaine is awful to him. blaine relies heavily on having a sense of power over kurt, and this is even openly explored in one of the later episodes, but not resolved well imo. from the moment they met and got together, blaine was using his power and standing as head of the warblers to subtly make kurt feel lesser. he liked feeling like he held some sort of power in the relationship. then, when he goes to new york and gains weight and thinks of himself as less attractive, he gets angry and jealous of kurt bc he wants to be the “hot” one in the relationship, and always considered himself as such. if you are comparing yourself to your partner in that way, please break up with them and learn how to feel complete by yourself. blaines insecurities repeatedly fucked up their relationship, and i never have and never will ship them. the fact that they last minute decided to get married, ignoring their glaring issues with living together and teamwork in general, due to social pressure to crash brittanas wedding was absolutely ridiculous and a bullshit wrap up to their story.

A:TLA

okay so i know everyone is having fun rn joking about how “zukka nation has risen” but i honestly dont see it and never will. i dont get where the fandom has just decided this year to prioritize a ship that gets no real exposure, no buildup, and basically a two episode arc in terms of trust and teamwork. i recently saw a post talking about how theres not much fan content for mai/ty lee, who have an actual solid friendship (and ty lee literally risked her life to save mai), but theres tons of fans pushing zukka and acting like its THE ship we should all be shipping, showing the general bias fandoms have for mlm over wlw. something to think about. ive been zutara trash since i was 11 years old, so needless to say, i would pick them over zukka any day.

piggybacking off of the weird superiority complex people have for shipping zukka, i have always been annoyed by sokka stans in general? just to be clear, i love sokka, and i dont think there is anything wrong with loving him! but i HATE how people who consider sokka their favorite character act like theyre special for that? people are always crying that hes “underappreciated” and that hes so much smarter and more capable than anyone else. and i personally have not seen a single person criticize sokka, when ive seen at least small bits of hate thrown at each character. my point here is, loving sokka is a super popular opinion to have, and literally everyone loves sokka! so when people act like theyre the only one who truly appreciates sokka it really bugs me bc like. it truly doesnt make you special. everyone has a different favorite atla character but i pretty much only see sokka stans with this odd superiority complex, acting like theyre so rare for loving a super loveable character.

TUA

idk if this is an unpopular opinion or not, but the show would be unwatchable without klaus. hes pretty much everyones favorite character, we all see ourselves in him and we root for him and we laugh at him, and while i agree with the sentiment that he gets a disproportionate amount of attention for how ultimately irrelevant he is to the plot, i literally would not care about tua at all without him.

on the flipside of that, i want to love allison so badly, but she gets no time or attention or development at all. her main traits are inc*st and missing her child. she gets nothing beyond that, and we dont know as much about her as the rest of the siblings. it hurts my heart to see the only woman of color in the family being treated so obviously like a side character in an ensemble cast. im really hoping we see more of her in s2.

MAINS & SHIPPING EXCLUSIVES

Introduction

So I think it’s about time I reached out to find people who are interested in pursuing super close connections with me.. So here it is, the shiny new updated proposition - I am looking for mains/exclusive writing partners be it of any kind. I love continuity in threads, and I love having people who are interested in having me throw ideas and headcanons at them at any time. I absolutely adore having people get as excited as I am. Therefore, by liking this post, I assume that you have read my rules and have a basic understanding of Clementine’s character by reading through her pages. I also take it that you are interested in interacting with my muse to develop possible relationships (positive or negative, platonic or romantic) with her.

What’s this?

Being my main means I’ll get to “pester” you a lot, post random small starters and send asks whenever my character is in need of yours. When I receive memes that require a certain muse (such as “kiss x muse” for example), I’ll immediately go for my mains. They are my priority, and our interactions affect Clementine’s timeline. This means that Clementine will often think of your character even when you, the mun, are not part of a thread or a post. Your muse will be in Clementine’s thoughts and heart and they affect her timeline. Clementine and said main’s relationship can consist of friends, lovers, enemies, rivals, old mentors, old friends, friends with benefits, exes, colleagues, students, people she works with now, people she stumbles upon, there are many possibilities! I will be accepting canon characters, canon-divergent characters, original characters and characters from other fandoms. This however, does not mean I am exclusive unless if we, as muns, agree on this. Even if I have a main of your character, for example, I can still roleplay with you and will gladly do so. Please don’t let the fact that I have a mains list put you off. I will gladly interact with the “duplicates” of the characters listed here. This list only indicates that these people will TAKE PRECEDENCE when it comes to plotting, threads, memes, and generally writing together. So please don’t ever hesitate to write with me if you’re not listed here.

On the context of ships, we don’t have to have interacted before but I do want us to be mutuals. However, we must have enough interaction for me to get a feel for Clementine’s feelings towards your muse before shipping should be discussed. I prefer to ship chemistry over anything else. Please keep in mind that Clem is NOT an easy person to ship with. Note that I am multiship and therefore, it’s not considered “cheating” because these characters, unless stated otherwise, will have a separate verse, and none of these affect Clementine’s current default storyline.

What are advantages that mains have that others do not?

Priority. When you reply, your reply will be prioritized. This means if I have a verse I want to try, or if I have a ton of replies to write and not a ton of time to do those replies, yours will be done first. If you like a starter call, yours get done first. If you send in a meme, yours will get done first. You get priority. By doing this, you’re going to get a ton of inspirational posts from me. I will tag you in graphics, in quotes, in songs. I will send you headcanons, alternate universes and plot ideas. I like to make edits, aesthetics, promos, pinterest boards, playlists - everything. I like to put personal tags on my blog, to suit specific storylines with people. Most of the time, mains will have those attached to anything I tag them in, for organizational reasons. Sometimes, this can lead to ships, be it platonic, romantic or otherwise. Sometimes, it might just make you my favorite person. I care so deeply about my threads and partners that I enjoy keyboard smashing about them, so I just ask that people are equally as invested in them as I am and that I’m not some new trophy to a collection. If I feel like you are bored, annoyed, or “done” with my muse, but are too chicken to tell me, (or can’t decide what you want from me/my muse) I will just leave you be, and not tag posts or respond to things anymore. It’s simple; I am not one to play games and use muses as speaking devices for my displeasure, nor will I stick around if my muse isn’t wanted anymore. You can’t “bookmark” ships for “later” either. Not interacting for weeks to months is not normal. So mixed-signal games don’t work with me anymore. Instead of causing OOC drama, I will simply bow out and wait for you to make the next adult move. I won’t chase you around if you are secretly waiting for me to do everything and read your minds. So if you can’t make the decision to end something, I will be the one to do it. My muse is no one’s “filler” ship or trophy. This is not first come, first serve.

I like to tie storylines in amongst other threads I have, though this is not obligatory. That already happens for some of my threads right now. If you’re a main, I will come to you for judgment on how your muse would react to a situation or whether or not it would be out of character to act a certain way, to refer to our plot development when addressing connections between muses, etc. I will recommend you to writing partners of mine. I love threads with multiple people attached. I love to gush about writing partners, I love consistency, and I love it all.

Rules attached to mains are pretty simple - at most I will take three but this is unlikely, I don’t expect exclusivity unless we explicitly agree on that, and that you’re excited about the relationship between the muses, too. If we are exclusive, I would just ask that you let me know if that is no longer working for you. Literally, just communicate that to me, and I don’t mind if we have to drop a thread for your own comfort. I like to think I’m pretty easy to work with as a writing partner. If you indicate that you’re interested in being mains and we don’t currently have something set up, I will approach you to plot something, and we can go from there. Likely, I won’t list you as a main until there’s been some degree of writing interaction between us. Sorry, but I’m just speaking from a logical perspective here.

Want to be my main?

Before we become mains, I wish for us to talk OOC and have at least a few interactions so we can “feel” each other’s interpretation of our characters. This is just so we can see if we feel comfortable roleplaying together and if our muses have chemistry, because once we are mains I will send you many asks and make starters, for I assume that if we accepted to be each other’s main means we’re friends and like each other’s writing, therefore we should feel comfortable to “pester” the other as much as we wish. Please feel free to contact me if you would like to be mains. All I ask is for you to be reasonably ACTIVE, and for us to have written together / established some sort of relationship between our characters, be it friends, enemies, lovers, etc. If you become inactive without telling me the reason why for weeks or months, then you will be removed from the current list. I am comfortable shipping my characters:

never. if our characters know each other deeply. if our characters know each other deeply, and I know I can trust the role-player. (for heavy, plotted shipping) at the first sign of flirting! (for more casual ships) only if the role-player and I plan it. it depends on the character.

If you want to ship with my characters:

talk to me about it from the start. talk to me about it once our characters know each other. talk to me about it once they both have some feelings for each other. talk to me about it when they finally decide that want to go beyond hugging.

SPEED

When shipping my characters, I like the romance to happen:

swift as lightning! fast, but not super fast. happens in about three months. slow and steady wins the race. slugs know what’s up! My relationships know no speed. They happen if they happen. (note: I prioritize chemistry over speed! If I don’t feel it, then it likely won’t work.)

SMUT (note: smut won’t apply to this particular blog, so I’ll cross everything out)

When my characters get intimate, I prefer:

to skip the act entirely. (if my partner prefers to to fade to black) to write the build up, but skip the act. (if my partner prefers to to fade to black) to write the act only if it is very special, but otherwise, skip it. (if my partner prefers to to fade to black) to write the act all the way through.

ROMANTIC ARTWORK

When it comes to artwork depicting our relationship please:

do not post it at all without talking to me. post it if it is cuddles and hugs. post it if it is kisses. post it if it is n.sfw. only post it if it depicts n.sfw privately between us. do not post it at all if it depicts sexual acts!

DRAMATICS

Important: always be sure to communicate with your partner individually if you think you are about to go outside their comfort zones even just the slightest bit!

VIOLENCE

When it comes to violent situations, I am comfortable with:

no violence at all! I’m fine with verbal arguments! some violence, like a paper cut, or an accidental elbow to the face. mild violence, such as punching, kicking, hair pulling. violence, such as stabbings. beyond violence, such as torture and more.

If you are going to do something violent, please:

don’t do it at all. talk to me about it first. surprise me!

AUTO-MOVING

When it comes to moving/touching my character without asking me first, I am comfortable with:

non-violent, non-intimate touches, like a tap on the shoulder. intimate touches, like hair or face stroking. mildly aggressive touches, like grabbing my character’s arm or pushing them out of the way. highly aggressive touches, like shoving and non-damaging hitting. violence that will not permanently damage my character. violence that may permanently damage my character. extreme violence, such as torture. you may kill my character without asking.

DRAMATIC ARTWORK:

Do not post any dramatic scenes that that happened between our characters. Talk to me about it before posting! Post what you like!
