NCT Dream as romcom male lead

Mark Lee ; a ONS that you met again.

Meeting Mark would probably be a funny occurrence. It'll be at a random bar, or an event, both of you are very drunk and flirted the whole night and ended up having a one night stand. He then wakes up to you gone. You're convinced that it's just a random one night stand but behold, you met him again. He's either your boss at the company who hired you recently or a close friend of the couple of the wedding you attended. Now the two of you are trying to avoid each other but the tension's there.

Huang Renjun ; holiday romance male lead.

Holiday romance are underrated! Renjun owns that small hotel in the middle of the town. You're a stranded girl who couldn't take the last train due to snow storm, so you have to book a hotel room. Renjun's accommodating, very accommodating that it felt like a special treatment now. At first, it was awkward and you're trying to create boundaries, but it doesn't exist in Renjun's vocabulary. "You're staying in MY hotel," he said. But soon, you get to enjoy your holiday in that small town and falls in love with Renjun eventually. 

Lee Jeno ; stranger who you met by fate.

It's that cliche first meeting where the moment the two of you made an eye contact, sparks happened. It may be in a train or on a busy carnival, it just happen that you two immediately reconnected. Jeno immediately approached you and asked for your number or for a date, which you agreed. You two clicked immediately and dated a numerous times. You thought that he's the one but conflict will arise, like you two getting into a huge fight, but don't worry, you two will end up together and grow old together.

Lee Donghyuck ; that office worker that you loathe the most.

This is a serious case of enemies to lovers. You hate Donghyuck up to his very guts because first: he's a competitive asshole who likes to compete with you, even if it's not necessary, and two: he's insanely good-looking that you get flustered whenever you two fight. You just know that you two will never get a long, but a project will force you two to work together and it was disastrous at first, but you two realized that you two are compatible, and at some point like each other. The project was successful but Donghyuck's more successful because he got to get you as his girlfriend at the end. 

Na Jaemin ; childhood friend who's unreachable.

You're childhood friends with Jaemin, but not literally. Your parents are closed so you two are acquainted with each other. He's nice, good-looking, and popular. He's also mysterious and probably a jock. A lot of girls likes him and you had a crush at him at some point, but it quickly fell off when you realized that he will never like you. But deep inside, Jaemin likes you! he just doesn't have the courage to approach you, so he ended up like he's ignoring you. 

Zhong Chenle ; popular guy in school who you don't find attractive.

Chenle is that popular guy in school who everyone loves. He's nice, friendly, and good-looking. You're that quiet girl who only has a few friends and you're okay with it. Until Chenle approached you one day and asked for a favor. Probably a school project or something to do with helping him write a poem or letter. At first, you're doing it for the money, but the more you hangout with Chenle, the more you find out that he's a genuine guy who is popular for some reason. You'll develop a crush on him but plot twist: Chenle liked you first. 

Park Jisung ; best friend who you thought was "platonic."

Jisung is that best friend of yours since birth. You two witnessed each other's first and are like siblings at some point. You two watched each other date other people and complication arised when you realized that you're in love with Jisung. It'll be during that time when you learn that Jisung's already engaged to someone. But in the end, he realized that he also loves you and goes after you. (Whatever happened to his ex-fiance, idk too, that's the romcom formula.)

Full JJK Theory (Newest spoilers)

No because I thought about it more and you guys…I might actually be cooking.

Im pulling out a whole family tree and timeline for you all.

Timeline

We now know that Kenjaku is OLDER than Sukuna and had his ability at the time that Sukuna was in the womb to extract Jin’s soul.

Now; I don’t know how Kenjaku does it or how it works because yall im rusty on my knowledge and everything, but Kenjaku had to (or most likely) there when this happened. So what if,

He IS Sukuna’s mother? Bro is a brain parasite, they appear as human; a female specifically, and got this goal of theirs. It became an obsession and finds a man. Has twins, one eats the others so Kenjaku keeps the soul, holds onto it.

Kenjaku leaves Sukuna when he was young to plan or whatever. Sukuna gets sealed (idk how to explain it) with the fingers.

Now that was a thousand years ago in the modern time. Kenjaku was secretly working up the family of Itadori. Once Kenjaku becomes Wasuke’s mother and has him, they leave when he is young as well. Wasuke’s life becomes bitter, meets his wife.

The wife is Kenjaku, meaning the stitches are there. Then, Kenjaku takes Jin’s soul, becomes pregnant. Has Jin, then leaves after some time.

We’re now where you’ll see a pattern I think will be shown later on. The mothers and wives, are always leaving, disappearing, or dying. And when it comes to being a mother to Itadori members, they are leaving before they would really remember them.

This is because when they see the stitches, they aren’t like “wait, my mom had these” because Kenjaku will come back as their lovers with the stitches.

This might be why Wasuke is like “something’s wrong but I can’t put my finger on it.” When he meets Kaori. His wife had the stitches. Kaori now has the stitches. But he doesn’t know what’s going on so he doesn’t have proof.

Jin is just happy that he has his wife back. Kenjaku has Yuji. Kenjaku as Kaori and Jin are now both out of the picture so Jin doesn’t see the possible future as stop Yuji. Wasuke would just be seen has a crazy old man by the time he catches on.

You’re probably wondering, what is Kenjaku doing between the times that they aren’t in the Itadori life? Going between other families (I would suggest the Kamo family I suppose or another one completely) to go into hiding. He can’t go around as Itadori mothers and wives after disappearing. It’s suspicious

Now originally in my first post, I explained the family tree like this image right here

Kenjaku having twins (being Sukuna and Jin), one eating the other, skipping over Wasuke’s parents, saying that Wasuke’s wife is Kenjaku who gives birth to Jin before becoming Jin’s wife and having Yuji.

Which let a plot hole because Wasuke looks related to Sukuna by looks just like Jin and Yuji.

But we can bring this pattern to Wasuke’s parents. Kenjaku could have been Wasuke’s mother who “mysteriously dies or disappears” which could start a main cause in his bitter life. Long before he could really remember her himself.

He meets his wife, who is Kenjaku and has Jin. Also “mysteriously dies or disappears” like his mother. This could explain why Wasuke was so suspicious of Kaori when she appears because if Kenjaku was his wife, that means the stitches were there. Seeing Kaori with similar or the same stitches would make him go on a spiral, but not having enough to prove what’s suspicious exactly.

Here is a slightly more detailed version of the family tree

Kenjaku would have more control as a woman when it comes to birth so I would assume that Kenjaku during these times decided to be female for this part of the plan. There seems to be a pattern when it comes to wives and mothers in this family.

Kenjaku and Kenjaku’s plan

We know that Kenjaku’s plan has relations with all of humans and curses living as one or whatever. I’m not going to explain that I’ll give myself a headache. But how did this obsession start? Long before Sukuna’s existence. Kenjaku has had this plan for over a thousand years.

With the theory of Kenjaku, a curse in a human body with a human man, made Sukuna. Someone who is human but has the capabilities like curses. And this obsession, this plan, Kenjaku starts the plan. Knowing that Sukuna is the one who can achieve this plan, Kenjaku waits to make the perfect vessel that can live while Sukuna is using them as a vessel. Yuji Itadori.

And for those who say that Kenjaku didn’t have a concrete idea with Yuji and his parents, it can be either Kenjaku lied or this is the somewhat more solid part of the plan.

But I think it was a lie. Reasons is because what would’ve happened if Kenjaku told the ones around them about Yuji being related to Sukuna? Who knows- it could’ve ruined the plan entirely. So they keep it a secret.

But I want to point out that Kenjaku’s plan feels like we haven’t seen all of the hard work put into it. If it’s a thousand years old plan, there’s a LOT of steps that has been taken place. Kenjaku hasn’t taken that many that we’ve seen. And I think because it’s now a more stand and watch, fix a few things here and there. Because the hard work to get to that point has already been done. Which was the ENTIRE Itadori family.

To your surprise, you opened your eyes to find yourself alive in your bed. Your head throbbed in a sharp, piercing pain. You looked into the mirror that sat in front of your bed to examine your facial injuries. You had a bandage wrapped around the right side of your head. As you went to touch the place where the rock was smashed into, you winced from the pain as it shot into your head. It wasn’t as deep of an injury as you thought it would be, but it wasn’t doing you much good either. You also noticed a bruise on your left upper cheekbone, very quickly growing into a black eye. You assumed it was from when the man tackled you into the creek. You moved down to your throat area to find two dark purple bruises on the front side of your neck. Other than those injuries and a couple of scratches on your arms and knees, you figured you were in better shape than your attacker. You wondered what ended up happening to him. If you were here alive, it meant he probably survived too. Left out there, he was probably finished off by roaming mites. Either way, it wasn’t your problem anymore.

You hear a knock at the door. “Come in”, you struggle to get out, a spiky pain going down your throat after you the words escape your mouth. Janet opens the door and walks over to your bed with a glass of water and some more bandages. “Yeah that sounds as bad as I thought it would be. Whoever caused those neck bruises was really trying to kill you”, she replied, sitting down next to you on the edge of the bed. “Really? I thought the bloody dent in my head would be more of a giveaway”, you sarcastically reply in pain. You got a small chuckle out of her. “Even a near death experience couldn’t take away your wonderful sense of humor”, she jokingly replied. You smiled at her remark. Janet went to unravel the bandage on your head. You grimaced as she tried to rip off the parts that were dried on by the blood. “Don’t worry, you’ll be fine”, she said after noticing the expression on your face. “You’re a tough girl. One of the strongest people I’ve met.” A slight smile crept onto your face. She dipped a cloth into the bowl of water, then started to dab it onto the wound. As much as the process of getting to it sucked, you enjoyed moments like these with Janet. You know, even though finding you out there bleeding out from your head probably almost scared her to death, that she enjoyed them too. You took a sip of water from the glass she gave you, which improved your throat pain significantly. Once she finished cleaning your head, she wrapped another bandage around the wound. “Alright, I’m fixing up some breakfast for you in the kitchen. If you need anything, just ring this.” She placed a little bell on your nightstand as she gathered her stuff to leave.

After failed attempts to fall back asleep, you decided to head out to the kitchen to help Janet. You gently placed your legs over the edge of the bed and slowly stood up. You slightly limped over to the mirror to assess yourself again. Your head looked slightly better with the change in bandages, but the bruise on your cheekbone had now fully turned into a black eye. You winced as you placed your fingers on the swollen area around the bone. The bruises on your neck had stayed about the same size as the last time you saw them. You rolled up your pant legs to find two bandaged gashes on your right knee, most likely from the tackle as well. You slowly turned and hobbled towards the door to walk into the kitchen. You made your way across the hallway of the cabin into the kitchen and living room (it was more of just a little kitchenette with a couch in it). You rubbed your eyes to adjust to the fluorescent lighting of the room. As you opened your eyes again, you could hardly believe what you saw going on by the couch.

Janet was kneeling on the floor next to couch, tending to the same man who tried to kill you. She was cleaning up a cut he had on his left tricep, as he laid there shirtless on the couch. Your heart sunk as your eyes laid on him. He was still unconscious, but the thought of your attempted killer being in the the same house as you made you nauseous with fear. “Janet!” you whisper yelled at her, half from the fear of waking him up and half from the pain still in your throat. She didn’t turn around. You yelled again. She rolled her eyes as she finished changing the bandage and walked over to you. “What is he doing here?” you asked like she was insane. “I couldn’t just leave him there to become mite food y/n”, she truthfully replied. “Uh, yes. Yes, you very well could have. You are aware of the fact that he almost killed me, right?” you asked, still concerned the situation wasn’t getting through to her. “Yes I am, and that’s exactly why I brought him here.” All you could do in response to hearing her say that was nervously laugh. “Listen to me y/n, I’ve been here for much longer than you have. So I know for a fact that when people arrive here, it’s either from some extremely fucked up accident, or for a very important purpose. I believe he’s here due to the latter. We need to keep him alive to find out that purpose, alright?” she snapped at you. You hadn’t seen this side of her much, so whenever you did, you knew she meant it. You nodded in response. “Alright” she said as she took a deep breath “Now help me with breakfast.”

He could see the bright white lights seeping in from his eyelids as he slowly opened his eyes. As he regained consciousness, he immediately felt shooting pains in his shoulder, abdomen, and foot. His groaning caught Janet’s attention as she walked over to where he was with damp cloth. He tried to move back slightly, but if he moved any more, the pain would get worse or he would probably fall off the couch, which was definitely too small for him to lay horizontally on it. Janet looked at him for a consenting look before taking the cloth to the right of his abdomen. He hesitantly nodded. He groaned through the stinging pain of the water mixing with the bloody wound. “I’m surprised you were still alive by the time I got you inside. This one right here should’ve had you dead within the first three minutes of getting bit” Janet said to break the silence. “W…Where am I?” he asked tiredly. “My cabin. I’ll tell you the rest of it when you’re awake enough to pay attention to what I’m telling you.” Janet placed her hands on his back once she noticed he was trying to sit up. He cried out in pain through his teeth as he tried to sit normally. “Woah, woah, woah, I don’t think you’re ready for that yet”, Janet said concerned. “No time”, he said between short breaths. “Need to get back to the sh-.”

He cut himself off when he saw you standing by the kitchen counter, your back to him and you head lowered. He kept his eyes on you for a bit and examined your frame, trying to understand how someone as small as you could reduce him to this. You could feel his eyes on you, like a laser burning into your back. The longer the moment went on, the more you wanted to take the knife nearest to you and finish the job you started. After what felt like hours, he finally turned his face back to Janet. Being able to tell what he was going to say next, she said “She lives here with me. And before you ask, no she isn’t going anywhere. And until you fully heal, you aren’t leaving either.” Janet turned to face both of you. “And until that time happens, I need you two to try to not kill each other. Alright?” You reluctantly nodded your head. He did the same. “Ok good.” Janet finished with his abdomen wound and walked over to you in the kitchen. “I’m going into town for a bit to get some more medical supplies, so I’m going to need you to finish with his shoulder and foot” she told you, already noticing the horrified look creeping onto your face. Your heart sunk and your eyes widened hearing her say that. “Janet, no, there’s no way. You leave me here alone and there is no doubt he’ll kill me” you whispered quite enough so he wouldn’t hear. Janet pulled you outside with her to talk. “Listen, I know you don’t trust him and I don’t entirely either, but have you seen him? It would take a miracle for him to get up right now and charge at you again. Plus, I need you to try to get information on him while I’m gone, ok?” You closed your eyes and took a deep breath. “Ok.” “Thank you.” Janet gave you a little peck on your forehead. “I’ll be back soon.” She started walking off into the distance. With Janet’s good luck kiss, you turned to the door to walk inside. As you went to turn the doorknob, you noticed your hand slightly shaking. You took one last deep breath to calm yourself before walking inside.

You walked inside, determined not to make eye contact with him the entire time. Once you got to the kitchen counter, you could already feel his eyes on you again. You could’ve sworn he had some kind of laser eye power, because you could feel yourself getting hotter with each passing second. It was almost paralyzing how it made you feel. “Could you stop that please?” you finally said, hoarsely. You heard a slight chuckle from him. “Sounds like I did a number on you after all. Not good enough though, since you’re still walking” he replied in a rich, slightly menacing tone. It was enough to send a slight shiver down your spine. You could hardly believe Janet trusted him enough to not kill you. You took yet another deep breath, and grabbed the bowl of water, a sewing needle and thread, a roll of bandages, and a damp cloth. You still avoided eye contact, but out of your peripherals, you could see he was still staring at you. What you couldn’t tell though, was if he was slightly smirking or not. 

You placed the bowl down on the ground and you sat right in front of his foot. You reached to unravel the bandage wrapping his left foot, but he moved it away. You sighed. You knew exactly what he was doing. Giving in to what he wanted, you finally make eye contact with him. His eyes were just as sharp and full of anger as they were when he first punched you in the chest. “Please don’t move. This will be easier for both of us if you stay still”, you say to break the tension. You go back to his foot to unwrap it, but he moves it yet again. You huffed to yourself and turned back to him. “Listen, I know you’re upset with me over the arrow, and I’m sorry. My intention wasn’t to hit you. But I have every right to be mad at you as well. Now I know you don’t want me here, but I hate to break it to you, you’re stuck with me until Janet gets back. Now can you please hold your foot in place so I can take off this god damn bandage!” you yelled as loud as your injured throat let you. You must have turned red or something because you noticed a smirk slightly tug on his lips. He moved his foot in front of you. “Thank you”, you remark, turning away from him again. 

You unravel the bandage to find Janet already stitched up the wound on his foot. That made things easier for you at least. You took the damp towel and dabbed it on the wound. You couldn’t believe you were here, cleaning the wounds of the same man who just tried to kill you. Apparently he couldn’t believe it either, since his eyes were still locked onto you. You finished applying the water and wrapped his foot back up. You moved over to his shoulder next. You were much closer to him now, forcing you to have to take looks at him. It was the same expression every time though. Anger, mixed with annoyance, mixed with a hint of fascination. You unraveled this bandage. This was the one Janet hadn’t gotten to yet. You figured this would give you a chance to redeem yourself though, fixing up the wound you gave him. You kneeled in front of his shoulder with the threaded needle and stuck it into the wound. As soon as you put it in, the man clenched his teeth and groaned in pain. He wiped his face with his hands in anguish. 

You pulled the needle through the skin, and at some point you must have hit a specific spot, because his hand shot down and took hold of your thigh to hold as leverage. Butterflies flooded into your stomach as he squeezed your thigh with every pull of the needle and thread. You looked down and took notice of his hand once again. Noticing how big it was, how tense it would get, and whether he did it with intention or not, how he would occasionally trace his thumb across you clothed skin. Once previously around your throat, now seizing your thigh and tightening its grip with every movement of the needle. You felt your cheeks getting brighter with each tighten. Part of you thought he was doing this to fuck with you, but the looks you saw on his face proved you otherwise. 

Being this close allowed you to take notice of all his facial features now. From his plump lips, to the two identical scars running down his face. You knew they had to have some sort of story behind them, but you decided to ask another time. You were unable to reach a certain spot on the inner part of his shoulder, so you sat up slightly to move more into him to reach it. This is when it hit you how close you two were. Feeling his hot breaths on your cheek, hearing his slight moans and groans of pain, and now with the movement of his hand from on top of your thigh to your sensitive inner thigh. You were embarrassed to admit the combination of everything made you slightly wet. You had to use your spare hand to push two pieces of his skin together that were too far apart for the needle to get in naturally. As you pushed, he moved his right hand to grab yours. Now that it was touching your bare skin, you could fully appreciate the feel of his skin on yours. You felt how rough it was as the calluses on his hands slightly scratched against your knuckles. 

You finished up and closed the wound and started dabbing it with the damp towel with the same hand that was holding the needle. He still hadn’t moved either of his hands, his moans and groans now turned into short pants. You sat there for a second, embarrassed with how comfortable you suddenly were with him. Part of that embarrassment also went towards how wet his hand being on your upper inner thigh made you. “Are you ok?” you asked, having to say something in fear of what you would do if you just stayed like this. He nodded slightly. He opened his eyes after having them shut from the pain and looked into yours again. Only this time, they weren’t filled with anger. You couldn’t tell what look this one was. Maybe weakness from his pain. Maybe wonder. Maybe…. After clearing his throat, he finally took his hand off of yours. Then, almost as if he were teasing you at this point, he dragged his hand off your inner thigh agonizingly slow, finger by finger. Cheeks flushed and stifling the noise you felt building up in your throat, you grabbed your materials and moved them over to the kitchen counter and made your way back to your room without saying another word. “Wait”, you heard him call out. You popped your head out from behind the hallway corner and stood there waiting for what he was going to say.

“What’s your name” he asked softly.

“Y/N” you hesitantly answered.

“...I’m sorry for earlier y/n.”

“I’m sorry too…” you signaled to him for his name.

“Kang.”

“I hope you heal well, Kang.”

“You too.”

You walked back over to your room, using whatever self control you had to stifle any feeling that might have been awoken in those moments.

Behold a pikmin OC

Their name is Mint and they live on PNF-404

I don’t know what the collective species that Hocotations, Koppai, etc fall under like humans do, but they’re inhuman* basically

I don’t know what to call them tbh. A shapeshifter maybe

I might be about to infodump a timeline a little 👌 under the cut

Mint landed on PNF-404 years ago. Their species is designed to be great hunters, since they’re shapeshifters and whatnot. Maybe I’ll try to delve into the species or not I have no idea at the moment

In my opinion, Pikmin 4 takes place after Pikmin 3. Olimar just crashed and got stuck again for like the 4th time idk

Anyways. Koppai trio comes in and Mint is curious about them and starts mimicking them and filling them around. Koppai trio is equally curious because how tf is someone living there. Mint can’t communicate with them so yeah. She gets to know the crew + Louie and Olimar. Very much likes Louie because he’s weird and eats creatures too.

Mint travels back with them to Koppai since they think she’s a castaway, but they can’t find her on any databases which is just… puzzling. Even more, blood tests say that she’s not part of any known species. She becomes an oddity because of these things including her PNF-404 orgins, but the Koppai trio protect her and keep her safe.

She’s stays with them for the time being, they teach her english* (whatever they speak), and she slowly gets integrated into society. Alph even teaches her a thing or two about engineering. I don’t know how many years it would take for these things so idk how long yet. Probably speaks a broken english*.

Once she can communicate with others efficiently they still don’t know where she’s from because she doesn’t know either. She just woke up on PNF-404 and lived there until the Koppai trio’s mission. She’s learned to be more secretive about whatever her mystery species is because like… a shapeshifter is not a common sight to see or know about and Mint doesn’t like a lot of attention.

I want to give her a dog or something similar. I’m working on it

Idk. She gets recruited on a treasure trip to PNF-404 because it’s very known that she’s lived there and probably knows her way around things. Thing is, the people who hired her are shady as heck. She ends up not liking them and tends to avoid them and run off while exploring the planet

In the end something happens, could be the group is getting attacked or whatnot, but she gets left behind. She’s kinda sad but not helpless. Jose, Fiona, and Hastur - Water-Stained Letters and a Potential Connection?

The water stains on the last letter in the Christmas event reminds me of Fiona's and Jose's 4th letters, both which are stained or drenched by water.

The parallels makes me wonder if it could mean something… the detail about a wet letter mentioned more than once is curious…

Both Jose and Fiona are also said to be "gifts" from a "friend" of the manor owner that he treasured to include in his experiment, and thus important compared to most other participants.

Both Jose and Fiona have games at Lakeside, which is associated with Hastur, who is in this event, during which he says "I shall be waiting for all of the at the very end". Maybe this could parallel or have a hint about the end of their games or the end of all the manor games.

Especially considering those in Fiona's games disappear, leaving only a puddle of water behind. Is it possible the same could've at least happened to Jose (if not potentially to some of the others in his game if they weren't already dealt with)?

Both Jose's and Fiona's games have some supernatural/unusual factors (Jose's game has at least Wu Chang, the unusual effects caused by the umbrella, and Jose being a "psychic medium" for Wu Chang. Fiona herself and Hastur at the very least count. Maybe Yidhra if she's actually involved in their game… Luchino could somewhat count considering his changes after the bite, as well as Eli in the 2nd game 6 after Fiona. Then there's how him and those in Fiona's game mysteriously vanish).

I'm not quite sure yet if this is important, but considering this has been mentioned more than once, I do wonder if our attention is being drawn to this on purpose somehow, and therefore if some connection exists we should know about…

anyway so that would beeee SB, PQ ending, they come back, get rid of any leftover traces of glitch and lock up the mimic, then cassie gets in in ruin. and hw2 would then take place sometime pre-ruin, we dont know how long it is so i would even say hw2 happened post-SB until ruin or it overlaps ruin (because were shown the ending scene with cassie but honestly i would rather see it happen pre-ruin and that just being a hint but i have no ideaaa)

people were also saying that cassies dad made the mxes system or vanessa but i think the system was like there originally for years if not thru the entirety of the pizzaplex' existence and vanessa and gregory only made the nodes to keep mimic inside and cassies dad was just a technician that has used the mask and stuff, i just dont know how it works with the og vanny mask which didnt yet have all the tech inside but perhaps that was just like an in-VR version of it in the first hw. man i dont know.

then theres the mxes entity player theory which is... eh, how would they function in reality? and why would they give cassie the mask if were hinting at some possession of mapbot? i dont like that idea past the entity being you know who and also getting rid of a past version of himself (glitch) man i need like a discussion circle

None of us really know either way, but I do remember speculation in the mid-late 2010s re: whether or not the TF2 comics were leading into something space-related (between what happened to Sniper's mom, the spaceships located in several in-game maps, and the perpetually-unfinished valve map rd_asteroid that used to be in the game's playable map rotation). Entirely guesswork, plus a dash of hope that Valve would continue the storyline post-comics.

:\ yeah, though, ultimately… the comics really shook up the status quo of the game and the established setting, but it's hard to see what conclusion they could've been barrelling toward. Real intrigued by that comics/Helen infographic you posted a few days ago -- I've likewise been puzzling over what Helen's debt could be (for all of the comics' hiatus and then some, lmao). Either way, I don't believe there's enough foreshadowing for us to have figured out whatever-it-is, and then there's the eternal question of "What Comes After?" (both in-universe and regarding Valve's seemingly-dwindling interest in the IP) looming over it all.

(like tumblr user milfy, I'm not really sure what comic 7 could've done to conclude things in a satisfactory way. ngl, sometimes I wish we'd gotten something set during gravel war or mvm -- at the risk of sounding overly critical, I'll admit I personally feel like the fandom missed out on getting some more gravel war era/group-focused content.

though with the then-ongoing [and, hell, somehow-currently-ongoing] status of the game itself, I also feel like the comics ending on too Final a conclusion would've soured some folks' milk. perhaps this is why I continue to entertain the "it was leading into another update" train of thought -- the idea of the comics smacking a big old super-conclusive "The End" onto everything seems unlikely to me, but I cannot fathom what would have come afterwards. or how any currently-raised plot threads would be resolved, if at all.)

oh man, I would've loved to have more stuff that actually delved into developing the characters during the Gravel wars/MvM... hell, they could've even played off the Scream Fortress shenanigans and have like, a big, ridiculous magical adventure

there's part of me that wants to hope they had some idea of what they were doing but the more I look at it, the more the plot feels like it dissolved more into "stuff that feels really big and important happening" rather than one coherent mystery to unravel, which... the journey should also be important. This is the stuff people criticize Marvel movies for, the twist becomes more important than the actual story. Putting all the eggs in that basket.

I definitely agree... idk like. I think they even could've gotten away with having different canons and not feeling like they had to pin the ultimate resolution of the entire game to the comic, either. Comics can be like that! Different iterations and interpretations of the same universe, that's cool too! IPs get revised and retconned and improved all the time, tbh I think like... the current obsession people have with canonicity can be grating at times.

I think in some ways it's even harder to get past that with an inconclusive work like this because yeah, it does end up being that everyone hopes whatever the conclusion is will be worth the wait, that it'll scratch that itch, and the longer folks go imagining some grand conclusion the higher expectations end up being. You can't really blame them either, at a point, because that's all they really have to go off.

Second of all:

Marinette was. She was immediately all over him, like everyone else in the world disappeared and it was just him left. She was obsessed with him almost from the start, he quickly became "her favourite person" - that's a term used when discussing BPD and that one person that means the world to someone suffering from this disorder. Adrien... well, he was exclusive, until he wasn't. She put a spell on him the moment he saw her and talked to her for the first time, it was instant, and intense. BUT, at some point when Mari started feeling paranoid and became controlling, he was like "fuck it, it's not like we're together anyway, I can do whatever I want", aaaaand he went and slept with two girls somewhere in the meantime. Yeah, ouch. She didn't know, until she did. Well, he told her about it during one of their fights. This was one of their last fights before the massive breakup, Marinette became even more paranoid and toxic than before, telling him all the time to leave her and "go to his bitches" or whatever, but he didn't want to leave. He was mean to her, and very hurtful, but he was so intoxicated by her - still, after all of this - that he couldn't possibly walk away. And then one day she "broke up" with him, like I said before.

I partly answered this question in the paragraph above, but I'm gonna say it again - Marinette completely took over him with how attractive she was, both physically and mentally. He liked spending time with her, talking with her, and doing OTHER things obviously. They had a weird connection, something that didn't happen to them before, and they were intoxicated with each other. Since the beginning, she's been both a mystery and a forbidden fruit to him, and this is why he couldn't ever say no to her. But he never even thought about it being love.

Yes, Marinette can lose control completely when she's scared and angry, and it happened a couple of times that she started hitting his chest with her fists or slapping his forearms, yelling how much she hates him and that he should just leave her like everyone else, because he clearly wants that and he doesn't give a fuck about her. But because he's much stronger - and bigger - than her, he would always catch at her wrists and stop her. He hates it whenever she's doing it because while he doesn't mind physical touch in general (except for some intimate gestures...), he gets furious when something like this happens. When it happened for the first time, he was genuinely shocked, he would never expect her (or any other woman) to raise her hand against him. Later he kinda learned how to deal with it, and although still super angry at her, he would just stop her by holding her arms still. Their conversations would look like that, more or less:

A: Don't do this ever again. (he would stare at her with cold and angry eyes, and she would soften up immediately, and start crying and shaking)

M: I-I'm sorry, oh my God I'm so sorry, please forgive me. Please, I didn't mean to... I love you, please don't go, please.

A: No, stop with this bullshit, Marinette. I don't want to hear any of this.

M: Adrien, I'm so sorry, please don't be mad, please... Are you mad at me? You must be... You hate me, right? You hate me... God, I'm so sorry-

A: I don't hate you. Fuck, Marinette. What is wrong with you? You fucking hit me, yell at me, act like a psycho, and then you're telling me you fucking love me? I've had enough of you for one day. I'm going.

M: No! No, please please don't leave me. I'm so sorry, Adrien, baby, I'm so sorry-

A: I am going. Let me go.

4. Aaaaand the last one - so Marinette started posting some of her singing videos in social media, she was also singing in cafes and restaurants, even organised a small concert for a group of people (friends, family, friends of those friends, random people, basically anyone could come and listen to her). Then at some point a producer from Dead Oceans became interested in her, and offered her a contract. She then released "Liquid Smooth" which became an instant hit song, and just like that she got famous af.

Exitium is not that much of a popular band, and Adrien never wanted to be super popular either. It all began with Luka who was already friends with some musicians when he was young (he played the guitar and was interested in heavy music since childhood), and when he decided to start a band with Adrien, he got their help. They played some small concerts in bars and pubs around Stockholm, and at some point went to some less famous producer with their debut album. A couple of months later Universal got interested in them, and they signed a contract.

I had vague memory that Matsumoto batch-cooking was a thing that happened, but I did not realize the specific context of this scene. This is BANANAS.

Okay, I need to back up. At this point in the story, 3/4 Bount and Ichinose have been neutralized as threats. There are a lot of injuries and Ishida is chomping at the bit to finish his Oedipal narrative arc, and Matsumoto wisely points out that everyone has been running around for over 24 hours and rest and food are IMPORTANT. Which is thoughtful and lovely, except... when she said that I thought they were just going to have some niblets and get four hours of sleep or something, because there is a highly dangerous, vengeful murderman roaming the streets of the Seireitei right now. He already blew up a building and took out a Gate Guardian, held his own against Byakuya, and has the ability to regenerate himself by taking bites out of Seireitei Shingles. 

But instead they have a whole-ass block party!!! WHAT IS HAPPENING. 

This is especially funny because in the next episode Ishida shows up to fight Kariya alone, and where is Ichigo? where is everyone else? STILL AT THE 10TH DIVISION SLUMBER PARTY THAT’S WHERE. Ishida got up early for his regular morning insanity and everyone else nearly slept through the thrilling conclusion to this arc.

Even more bananas is the fact that Kariya... I don’t actually know, I wasn’t paying attention, but I guess he absorbed a power thingy and was waiting to get maximally powerful. My man got his COVID booster and is waiting for peak immunity. So literally time is of the essence!! And this is what they do!!!

(In fairness, it doesn’t seem anyone at this block party knows about the power thingy during that scene. But the next morning Rantao tells them all about what they missed while they were asleep and Hitsugaya is like, ‘Yeah, we heard about the power thingy. Time is of the essence!’ so clearly at some point they got this information and then proceeded to just keep doing whatever they were already doing.)

I am just so conflicted because I love a morale party but OH MY GOD WHAT. WHAT ARE YOU PEOPLE DOING. Idk this just feels like just sitting down to KBBQ two hours before an international flight, and you’re not even at the airport yet. It gives me ANXIETY.

On the other hand, it is a lovely spread:

I laughed out loud at myself the other day when I was pulling these caps, because my first thought was, “Oh, interesting! Vegetarian!”

And my second was, LOL. HOW CAN YOU TELL. EVERYTHING IS POLYGONS.

I think it’s because immediately prior, I’d been meal planning, and I was trying to decide whether I felt autumnal enough to make this, so I had it on the brain, but I’m willing to hold to my original impression of this meal and say that it is, indeed, vegetarian. There’s mushrooms and pickles happening in the side dishes and the soup looks like carrots and at least two different kinds of starchy vegetable. And there’s a basket of raw vegetables.

This is interesting to me because I am always interested in what they eat in Soul Society (and what the supply chain is), and I feel like this meal being vegetarian tracks. Given that the population of entities who need to eat is the minority, I imagine agricultural practice has remained pretty small-scale. We see fields sometimes, but domestic animals don’t seem like a huge thing. There’s one (1) boar biker gang and given how proud they are of this, that’s probably not the norm.

I’m not saying Soul Society is vegetarian--plenty of proof against this--but if meat is prepared in Soul Society I’m guessing more often than not it’s wild game (and even this feels very mysterious to me, XD); but anyway, that’s hard to do on an industrial scale, particularly on short notice, so if you’re a normal shinigami eating a normal meal, it’s probably rice and vegetables. They only whip out the fancy food for fancy occasions like Byakuya’s hanami, the installation of the New Third Captain, and Jump Festa. If you’re a noble, well, that’s different. And even if you’re a VC-level officer and above--it’s probably a little different, since there do appear to be exclusive dining establishments that cater to VCs and their corporealized zanpakutou that one time. Or if you’re with Unohana and she treats you to a fancy pork dish (meat provenance: undisclosed). But normie shinigami? No wonder Rin was so excited about cake, and Hanatarou got so distracted by the Miraculous Living World Combini!

My main point: Hitsugaya let them have a block party mid murderman-invasion, but they did not go to McDonald’s--even with their esteemed guests Kurosaki Ichigo And Friends in attendance--because they had tubers at home.

Secondary point: Tongs Renji was excited af for that Living World barbecue during the Reigai arc, and for good reason!!

Ladies, Gentleman, and All Other Options, I present to thee: Deltarune Parallels

So about a week ago, I put out a poll asking when I should reveal this little project of mine, and with an overwhelming 2 votes the people said I should release now, so I am pleased to announce the existence of the one and only

(It's currently in a very early stage, so not everything is fleshed out, but here's what I have so far)

Parallels is a little side project of mine which takes the current deltarune world, and focuses on a different cast.

The Human: Terro

Terro is an adventurous person. They're often very quiet while in public, but completely change when alone or with friends, becoming drastically more social and friendly.

The Monster: Ruby

Ruby is a jack of all trades when it comes to knowledge. If you have a question about just about anything, she probably at least knows where to guide you for answers. Above all else however, she loves gardening and nature

The Neighbor: Jack

Jack is a simple monster. If someone gets scared, himself included, he's happy. Scaring runs in his family, and he's happy to keep up the tradition. Although being Hallow entails far more than just scaring. After all, a halloween scare contrasts sharply with holiday spirit

-The intended experience for parallels

-Will probably be the most enjoyable

-Gives me an excuse to finally get into game design and begin something big

-Will take forever (Look no further than UTY taking 7 years)

-Requires me to learn music design, and game design

-Unless someone actively asks to join, I have no clue how I would expand my team

A webcomic

Pros

-Frequent Content that still follows the plot

-Follows the plot most accurately without being the game itself

Cons

-I cannot draw well and I don't have any art creation software other than aseprite (There is a reason I went into sprite art)

-I'm not sure how I would write this, and I don't think it will turn out that good

You can submit asks, and the characters will answer

Pros

-Can exist alongside other options freely (honestly depending on what happens with my question box, it will probably just come with whatever other option is chosen)

-Takes basically no effort on my end

-Barely gives any plot

-If used alone, makes certain characters forever unknown

-I genuinely cannot think of a more boring option for all this lore to be revealed. Like seriously, this doc just lists everything out that I have

And that got me into researching who the frick Primal Dialga was which then resulted in me making another AU off of PTA (PokeTale Ascendance) But also Pokemon Mystery Dungeon which then resulted in me getting hella inspired to make this

Also meet MagiCHARA cuz 1) I honestly feel like Chara would totally become a Magikarp cuz the whole LV20 motif with Chara, like in Genocide when Chara becomes LV20 by taking the players LV, EXP (since Chara is the narrator and she more or less confirms it at the end of genocide that Frisk basically uses her stats) and at LV20 Chara is strong enough to literally yeet the entire game into the void/world/timeline And even ignore TRUE RESETs (since she still remembers your Genocide run and prevents the Player from ever getting the happy pacifist ending and makes the player think she kills everyone on the Surface anyways to show the Player/Frisk that you aren't above consequences and stuff)

And Gyarados according to the pokedex can annihilate entire fucking cities with a single Hyper Beam or something???? (and can also be very very angry, which reminds me of Chara too when you finally meet the first fallen human in Undertale during the Genocide run like she's EXTREMELY pissed at the player for probably killing off all the monsters she loved/died for to save and stuff- *WHich also happens at Level 20 if you let Magikarp evolve into a Gyarados)

2) Also cuz of Chara's self-hatred/hatred for humans + possible abuse makes her feel as if she's worthless/useless/etc. which kinda also fits Magikarp cuz it is also useless until like, level 15 where it finally learns tackle and stuff and idk- I just feel like Magikarp totally fits tbh lol *And maybe I also like the idea Arceus is trolling his daughter and turned her into a Magikarp since she hated being a human so much/hates humanity in general* idk-

but= ye. For the drawing my thoughts were also like: What if the Primal form did something a little extra as well to Dialga instead of just only a color change?? (Hence why in my drawing Dialga has extra fangs, more streamers through out his body pumping in more power the more his anger rises) Since Bulbapedia's explanation for the Primal form for Dialga made it totally sound like it's some sort of corruption or something since Dialga loses all sense of sanity, morals and so on and only focuses on self-preservation and stuff and can even only communicate through growls and roars apparently if Dialga loses too much of his sanity to the Primal state-

And Chara sees this happening to her brother and desperately wants to help him (also for the PMD/PTA AU Dialga either doesnt recognize Chara being his sister since she's a Magikarp now and he remembers her being a human) OR he doesnt remember Chara at all and immediately just assumes she's lying, but Chara remembers being adopted by Arceus and stuff- and idk

And then Palkia in the Post-game also attacks her once he realizes Chara is from a diferent universe altogether *Undertale* And gets pissed thinking she's an enemy for disrupting Space and stuff-

Legal notes from my court-appointed Classic Who watchthrough. This time season 23, The Trial of a Time Lord.

The Trial of a Time Lord reminds me of Flux in New Who in a lot of ways. Both are shorter seasons that have a unique and more prominent story structure. And idk if it’s the neurodivergent in me or the writer in me (or both), but I really love an interesting and strong story structure that shows itself off, so I really love Trial and Flux in theory. I like some of them in practice too! But oh boy do both stories have their weaknesses, especially in their endings, that could’ve been fixed with some planning and editing and good writing. Though to be fair, both had reasons that accounted for some of their messiness- Trial’s final story saw the death of its author partway through and his first replacement quitting, and Flux was made during the COVID pandemic. So yeah, I have a soft spot for Trial of a Time Lord. Putting the Doctor on trial so they watch videos of his adventures to debate is perhaps a little on the nose on the meta level... but I’m fine with on the nose themes, and it’s a great premise just on its own, so whatever. I’ve heard people say they get sick of the trial scenes and I can’t say I’ve ever agreed. It’s a fun gimmick and there’s not that much of it compared to the rest of the story, it’s just a shame that eventually they stop having anything particularly interesting to say in them. But honestly I’d always be happy to watch some Doctor Who that randomly pauses sometimes to have Six give commentary on how good he’s doing or how much the Time Lords suck.

The Mysterious Planet isn’t the most gripping story ever and goes a bit slow, but honestly it’s a solid start to the series. The introduction to the trial is a great build-up, and the shot of the space station at the start is obviously wonderful. Six and Peri’s relationship being a little softer is nice (though, like most of their soft moments last season, it kinda looks like that character development was down to Colin Baker and Nicola Bryant working hard to deliver the script in a way that makes the characters watchable. I’ll never understand why the writers thought the Tardis team fighting and bullying each other all the time would make for a fun show). Glitz and Dibber are very funny, so are a lot of the Doctor’s interactions with most characters. Setting up the mystery of the sleepers and why the Time Lords want to censor what they found is the sort of story arc Classic Who had never really tried before, and I love it. And its eventual answer of people stealing secrets from Gallifrey itself is a cool payoff. But it does raise the first of many, many questions/holes in the trial plot: why on Earth did the Valeyard choose this story to show as evidence? Out of the history of Doctor Who, he chooses the only one the High Council wanted him to keep secret? Also, I don’t like season 23′s theme music. Maybe it fits the court intrigue better than the action-packed early-80s theme, but damnit I just love that action theme. SO catchy.

Mindwarp is.. a mess! I mean it’s meant to be a mess, but apparently nobody working on it knew exactly what was supposed to be happening in it. And that’s not how you make a deliberate mess! Because it shows, and it means I don’t know what was supposed to be happening either! Specifically, the bits where the Doctor goes evil. Was he acting evil to earn the trust of the bad guys, was he actually evil because of something their machine accidentally did to him, or did the Valeyard edit the footage to make him look evil? Or a combination of those? According to Tardis wiki Colin Baker asked the script editor, the writer, and the producer for the answer, but they all said they didn’t know. How is that even possible. The way the Doctor at the trial says he’s starting to half-remember what had happened makes things even more confusing. So... yeah. The story reminds me a lot of Vengeance of Varos. Obviously it’s by the same author and features the same villain, Sil, who still just doesn’t do it for me. Again story feels like it’s being very meta (even more than the rest of the Trial season) and I’m sure you could make some clever observations about it and the way season 22 plays Six as very unlikable, but again it just doesn’t interest me a lot. It’s a bleak serial without a lot to enjoy watching. Brian Blessed is one of the most fun things in it, but I’d rather he was in another story. Peri’s departure is... well, I guess it’s the right story for an exit as brutal as that. I think I prefer making a happy ending out of it, but being left to marry a random warlord is still pretty rough. Still, if there’s one thing that I love in this story, it’s the Doctor’s reaction to her death. Colin Baker’s acting in that part (and at the start of the next story too) kills me every time, and the moment of silence before his delivery of “you... killed Peri?” is heartwrenching in a way that I love.

First of all, I love any story that follows the structure of A Christmas Carol with past, present, and future, so kudos to the three stories used in the trial as evidence for that. And it’s a very fun way to introduce a new companion. But if the trial was starting to confuse itself a little in Mindwarp, it completely loses its focus in Terror of the Vervoids. Calling the Doctor’s argument in his defence ‘flimsy’ feels like it’s giving him too much credit. He chooses it so he can point at one adventure and say “in this case I was explicitly asked to interfere,” something that has already been made clear isn’t always the case, and something that I’m not sure would even matter in Time Lord law! And why this adventure specifically? Obviously he didn’t see it coming that it would get him saddled with a charge of genocide too. In the next story it looks like the Doctor would’ve genuinely been executed if the Master didn’t intervene, and honestly... it makes the Doctor look like an idiot more than any other time in the show. It’s bad writing lol. Another thing that seemed silly- its made clearer in this one where the Valeyard had tampered with the evidence, but his two edits are wildly different. One of them is writing the Doctor out of a certain scene so it looks like he let Mel investigate something alone- not particularly damning and not very unbelievable either, with the Doctor thoroughly edited out of a certain sequence of events. The second edit is a quick scene where the Doctor sighs in satisfaction while holding an axe and looking at the wreckage of the radio room, which is so absurdly out of nowhere and nonsensical that it makes me laugh every time. The way the Inquisitor is willing to believe it makes her look very gullible, especially when she was quite ready to consider the idea that the Matrix had been tampered with when it was the Valeyard suggesting it, but pooh-poohing the idea as impossible when the Doctor suggests it. Anyway, I can enjoy watching Terror of the Vervoids, and not just because of poking fun at it. Mel’s strong personality matching the Doctor’s makes a nice change after Peri (sorry Peri), and a love a murder mystery so setting up the characters then watching them sneak around and suspect each other is also fun. ...Though that said, I think the mystery gets a little too complicated. There’s a few different parties up to no good who are all facing double-crossing in their own ranks, making things very hard to keep track of, so the trial scenes on top of that is quite a lot of plot that isn’t executed very clearly. Maybe I was just happy for an all-round brighter story after Mindwarp. I think the most interesting character was Travers, the guy who’d met the Doctor before and had both a healthy respect for his ability to root out the truth, and a healthy wariness of the chaos that he causes. Oh, and the scene where the Doctor pauses and rewinds the Matrix to explain how he made a deduction was kinda fun, like a peak into the thought process of the Doctor that might turn up in Moffat’s Doctor Who, if a little rough and smarmy. It’s a peak at the kind of entertaining things that could be done with the trial format. It’s this kind of thing that makes me wish they reused the trial format for another season in modern Who, with better writers who’d actually work together to make a coherent story.

The Ultimate Foe is a lot! Just so much. From the moment the Master turns up, the trial premise that’s been building (and then decaying) for twelve episodes collapses into an absolute shambles. I don’t know why so much of these episodes are set in the Valeyard’s Victorian England-themed Matrix hideaway, or why the Valeyard spends it pretending to be a completely random character he made up. Maybe the funniest moment in the story is when, in the middle of everything, the Keeper of the Matrix runs into the court and announces, with no build up, that the High Council has been deposed by insurrectionists. Are these insurrectionists allies of the Valeyard, the Master, or just random people who have somehow been following the trial and realising just how shit the High Council is? I don’t know, because it isn’t mentioned again until the Inquisitor mentions that she guesses that they’re going to have to elect a new Council. One day I’m going to make a post going through the politics of Gallifrey in Classic Who, because oh boy is it a hell of a mess. Another moment that I always find very funny is the reveal that the Valeyard is the Doctor, which is written and delivered like it’s supposed to be a super casual line from the Master, but the most talented actor in the world couldn’t deliver that line and make it sound casual. Actually, that’s something I could say about a heck of a lot of lines in this story, especially for poor old Mel. Bonnie Langford you tried so hard with the script they gave you, and I respect you for it. Oh also, shout out to the Keeper of the Matrix for looking the Doctor in the face and telling him that no one could possibly get into the Matrix. As if The Deadly Assassin and basically every other Gallifrey story didn’t happen. As if the Master and Goth didn’t have a DIY bootleg Matrix link in their sewer lair. I feel like so much of some Gallifrey stories are Time Lords saying very dramatic things that are demonstrably false, but I guess that’s an empire for you.

I’ve really spent most of this post dunking on The Trial of a Time Lord, but I’ll say again that I always enjoy revisiting it. It’s partly because of the little great moments sprinkled throughout, partly because of nostalgia, and largely because of the fantastic premise that they had to work hard to make such a mess of. It becomes more and more of a disaster as it goes on, and by the time the Valeyard turns to the camera in the Keeper’s clothes and laughs I’ve completely given up caring about questions like “how does that make any sense at all,” but I enjoy the ride every time. They even managed to write Six in a way that isn’t aggressively unlikable and rude all the time! Good for them. As always, it’s a shame that Colin Baker was treated so poorly by the show in so many ways, but I’m grateful he got a chance to play the role with such better scripts in Big Finish (and specifically I’m grateful for Jac Rayner and The Marian Conspiracy for writing the blueprint for Six and Evelyn. I’ll never not stan that audio.)

like i know mcu mj isn't a very flashed out / well written character but it always bothered me when people call her a pick me girl or say she's trying to be a "not like other girls" type when usually these characters compare themselves to other girls or get compared by the narrative to show they're Superior to other "superficial feminine women" but i don't remember that ever happening in any of the movies? she wasn't trying to be different as a way to draw attention and prove she was worth more than anyone else, she barely even interacted with liz or betty, she's just a introverted "weird" girl by nature and she minds her business...her interactions with peter in the first movie read as "i'm awkward and i don't know how to get close to people but i really want to be your friend" and not "look at me i'm better than any of these girls".

you are completely right about the fact michelle jones isn't well fleshed out character as much as she should be. i blame kevin, amy and jon for that

but michelle is not the "i'm not like other girls" trope or a "pick me" girl at all like my girl is just weird and doesn't know how to open up like that is all it is.... she is scared of letting people in, of being vulnerable and getting hurt (something they have explored more before peter broke her trust in no way home but i digress)

i feel a lot people misunderstand michelle as whole ... she literally can't communicate well and can't close with people something that was shown in homecoming, further expressed in far from home, and again referenced in no way home

michelle is friends with most of the acadec members but she doesn't form a deep relationship with anybody outside peter and to a certain extend ned (again only in no way home and far from home when she finally opens up to peter)

from what we can tell she has some of school friends/acquaintances but the depth of those friendships were quite shallow she doesn't sit with them during lunch or pe and is alone during those times and she is just vibing on her own .... but she will still go to parties and school dances usually in group (michelle had no issue dressing up then ... so i'm not like other girls narrative falls flat)

also she only called peter and ned out for being creepy staring at liz but didn't have any bite (of jealousy) or whatever.... she also gets on quite well with betty but again surface level betty wasn't her roommate in far from home

like there is a reason why brad was into her (mj is pretty and fun guys) and she was really nice to him while being seatmates and had no issues going along with him from watching movies (joking with him even though her jokes fall flat) on the plane to hanging out in venice but she didn't necessarily open up to him

since homecoming mj has gravitated towards peter and ned, i think it's because she liked that they weren't afraid to be themselves even if that means being on the bottom of social ladder and i think she wanted to be friends with them for quite some time even before peter became a mystery she wanted to solve which is why i think she had less problems opening up to peter it's because she genuinely wanted to be close with him

but we were robbed a female friendship for mj though .... jon watts i will get you !!!!

Coming back up here cause I wasn't planning on hard gushing about Manhwa when I started writing but I went off. I was planning on just going over some of the plans for the day. You have been forewarned

I'm finding some really good manhwa. like holy shit dude. Maybe I need to look for that side of tumblr

Notable ones: World's Greatest Senior Disciple (great art, story and characters), Infinite Mage (not even through the first chapter but so far great art and introduction execution)

The art in the first one reminds me so much of avatar dude. The fl has Azula's fucking face, but is so expressive, passionate and funny. MC and fl are both really smart, dumb and stupidly stubborn. It's a very tightly laced story. Each thread pulled reveals things that are or will be relevant later. It's a fucking mystery. I didn't realize I was jumping into a mystery last night and I was fucking hooked by the time it clicked. (I do like mysteries I just don't tend to seek them out)

Starts out with this martial clan getting their shit wrecked by loan sharks. MC shows up after being assumed killed in action during the war two years ago right as the sharks are trying to cut the youngest's arm off and destroys them. Something happened in those two years and he got ridiculously strong because of it, but he's pretty tight lipped about it and is far more focus on whatever is going on in the region. The war is over, the demon dead, and yet the land seems lawless upon his return and one of his brothers are missing

MC (or very very likely MC) in the second is incredibly one track minded and very obviously a reincarnator, but isn't introduced in that first person 'oh I died some how and woke up in a baby's body in an other world' bit that starts off most of these stories. (I don't necessarily dislike the bit, but only a few stories handle it well. Mushoku Tensei is probably the best with this. Most of them feel rather clunky, but I'm isekai trash so meh) And that bit very likely happened to our likely MC, but that's not how the story is introduced. Hell MC ain't our intro character. It's his hunter dad. Hears a baby crying in the dead of night, is suspicious cause a baby/ family getting past all the traps he set up on his land isn't possible and grabs an axe to check it out. He makes a comment about him and his wife not being able to have kids and then he immediately finds this baby. No explaination how it got there, why it's alone and he's practically glowing

Think these two might be up there with Trash of the Count's Family for me. They're probably better written, but I'm a simp for Cale and it's still some amazing writing. (It's gotta be for me to binge 610 chapters of a webnovel for a few days straight after reading the first few manhwa chapters.)

Aaannnyway gonna get back to drawing today. I was in a pretty nasty funk yesterday(went away after did some dishes and found a comic to read. It was difficult to find something that piqued my interest since most of what I was finding was stuff I've already read or just didn't appeal to me). I'm doing much better now!

I started little flash cards for the characters in Being Fired yesterday and am thinking maybe I should change how I'm approaching writing it? Switch to a script cause I'm overwhelming tempted to just make this project a comic. (I basically decided to do that when I committed to the group shot and started doing all those warm up, but was afraid to admit that to myself.) I've tried writing scripts before but didn't know what I was doing, but maybe actively drawing shit relating towards it and distancing myself more from describing actions will help? Idk idk, but Imma try. It's the only fic I've gotten fully out lined so far and I think I got a better chance at drawing it rather then writing it

Gonna draw Red more for the warm up probably. Might fuck with the sketches from the last warm up cause his head is just so off and I don't want those in the ref file like that

Then back to the groupshot finish that up and maybe start sketching Zim and the Tallest? Might switch to forcing myself to work on backgrounds for a while instead. Also might need to start blocking out time for stuff since I'm not really hitting shit on my list. Either way I wanna work on writing and drawing on the same days some times instead of focusing fully on one or the other

Gotta keep thing going. There doesn't need to be alot of energy going into things at once as long as it's consistent

so shiho doesnt get arrested or anything even though she says her part of the story completely honestly this is because she makes it clear that she was literally forced into doing everything so she avoids prison (yayyyy) and she just gets rlly happy and lives a goodlife like we see her hanging out with the rest of teh good guys and talking with shirakawa and shes also just very cute we see her human form for the first time she looks crazy young and very adorable it actually made me more sad. her interview part is also the saddest and yamamoto completely dismisses everything she went through in his part and just blatantly lies about how shes to blame for everything and how “she and her boyfriend had an argument” and how “we dont interfere with the personal lives of the mystery kiss members” or something like that meanwhile we see shiho literally almost crying in her part its like AGHHH. also some point after the anime she forms an idol duo with sakura at a new agency but its for a pretty short time oh heres human shiho btw

for sakura she sort of acts really innocent and cute the whole time during her interview and in general she has a good monologue about people following their dreams that i liked it sounded so cutesy and regular but also in the context of what she did it was rlly unsettling. she basically comes off as totally innocent and the others dont say anything about her as well too up until the end part so shes free to just do whatever for a bit. she also tries to kill more people because of course she does she commits attempted murder in the audio dramas too but idk if you know that and i really liked it because theres a shot of her reaching into her backpack to get her knife and it looks really childish and cutesy and it was so fucked up and then she talked about stuff like security cameras and no one seeing her and the victim and just ominous shit like that really innocently and happy and it was scaryyyy anyway i think youcan guess what happened to her

as for rui her part also made me really sad because she is brutally honest about literally everything and shes not afraid to say what actually happened and its in her interview thats revealed that yamamoto didnt actually believe her and though rui killed yuki and called yano instead of letting rui call the police because hed rather only lose one member than lose a member and lose his favorite one too. yano and yamamoto also urged rui to leave when they were cutting up the body and shit but rui stayed because she couldnt handle the guilt that came up with it. the way she talks about yuki is also very interesting where instead of blaming her and getting mad at her she just talks about how mad she was in general she literally cant blame her specifically its so. and i thought it was interesting that both shiho and rui said that mystery kiss was over but yamamotos the one that said theyre doing just fine it was fucked up

Thirteen Era Rewatch: The Vanquishers

I'm re-watching Thirteen's era in lead up to the Centenary and since this is likely going to be my last full re-watch for a while I thought I'd do a post on each ep where I just go over all the things I love, hate or just have some general thoughts on.

This hug will never not kill me. The way 13 purposely stops what she’s doing just to hug Yaz, how aggressive the hug is, Yaz’s face !!

I never really cared for the use of the house to represent 13’s memories and it being like we’re in the watch but idk I kinda like it now. Also everything being in greyscale while Swarm and Azure are in colour looks really cool

13’s quick ‘I miss you’ in RotD when she’s been away from Yaz for LITERALLY decades versus her heartfelt as fuck ‘I miss you’ in this ep after being away from Yaz for probably a day at most makes me scream that’s growth babey

Also Yaz’s vibe in that scene is cool too like before she was losing her mind at being away from the Doctor but this time she acts like a few years away from the Doctor was nothing, which isn’t fully true obviously, but I do think there’s something in there about like, this time during her time away from the Doctor she had a purpose and shit to be doing and she could watch the hologram, but before she was just stuck with nothing and as far as she knew 13 could be dead.

I just love this idk

Love that 13 has never properly flirted with anyone (unless you wanna count the Solitract, which I don’t really) and the first time she does is with another version of herself lmao

The cutting between shots of different versions of 13 in the TARDIS is really not my fave. I wish they did some wide shots of them on screen together more. And sometimes 13’s reaction feels kinda delayed when talking to the other 13. It’s just weird.

I like Jericho but I can’t say I really care that he’s dead. The scene is kinda sad but idk, I’m not that cut up by it. Going into this ep I low-key forgot it was even gonna happen lmao

Idk how I feel about Swarm and Azure dying. Part of me is like, what a simple death for such cool villains and another part of me is like well maybe it shows the power Time has. And I’m also like I wish they didn’t die bc it would be cool to see them again but at the same time the idea of them being Flux exclusive villains would be kinda cool. Maybe they’re not even properly dead idek

I love Time and I love the prophecy they give 13. I’ve seen ppl say it’s just a knock off of what happened with 10 and yeah its definitely similar to that but I don’t think that matters. If anything I think makes sense that Time would have that info and use it to tease 13

This is just too many ppl in the TARDIS actually like get them out. That’s kinda a theme with this era, 13 just inviting ppl into the TARDIS, and I don’t love it. In this case specifically I get why it has to happen ofc, but generally, nah

I fear I will never emotionally recover from this scene. Every time I watch it basically gets me just as much as it did the first time. They’re insane

I hate that Dan comes in at the end and cuts off Yaz and 13’s moment. That’s a thing I mentioned that happens before in my 13.01 thread, something happening to cut a convo off rather than the characters being made to actually end their convo naturally, and it winds me up

I’m glad 13 decides she doesn’t want her memories. I think that’s the best thing to do bc it would be next to impossible to satisfyingly give her the memories and represent them well or whatever. Way better to just leave it a mystery

I do like that she says ‘unless I really ask for it’ tho bc it leaves the door open for them to go into it in the future if a showrunner ever wants to

I used to see, and still do sometimes, a lot of ppl be like ‘it didn’t wrap up the TC, I hope they wrap it up in the specials’ but like.. to me that was a very clear wrapping up of the TC. I think it’s possible it will get brought up again somehow in PotD, especially since we have that clip of 13 in a chamber with regen energy everywhere, but if it doesn’t come up I don’t think it matters at all. The final scene in this ep felt like closure.

I love this ep tbh. There’s a lot going on but for the most part I think it works so well. The only thing I’m a bit meh on is Kate and the GS bc I don’t fully see the point in them even being in the series at all. But at the same time, I love 13’s scenes with them so
