okay angsty eah headcannon. so you know how the original fairytales are much darker than what we learn about through eah/disney?

For example; in the og cinderella, she sends birds to peck out her step sisters eyes. in og little mermaid, she fails to earn the princes love and turns into sea foam at the end, ect.

so i have a headcanon that there are multiple different ways the story book of legends will allow the story to go, that includes the original stories, as long as it sticks to the bare essentials. But the outcome is based on the characters personalities, ability, and choices. basically, if ashlynn was into the idea of punishing her step sisters with birds at the end of her story (not that she would ever do that), she could. if meeshell successfully, genuinely, woos her prince, she earns her happily ever after. if she is unsuccessful, she will be turned into sea foam. at the end of her story, Duchess can choose either to live the rest of her life as a swan, or to drown with siegfried. if the villians of the pinnochio story are especially cruel this generation, cedar could potentially be hanged.

Apples mom was 100% going to force the evil queen to dance in red-hot iron slippers till she drops dead, but wasnt able to because the evil queen broke away from the story. nobody knows that was her intention. meanwhile, apple would never in a million years choose that ending.

the reason not many have rebelled before raven is because, since grimm has been so strict on keeping to the exact same story, not many have diverged from it/chosen a different outcome in centuries. and if they did, its very much kept on the DL. so most of the students have no idea that their stories have the potential to be so much more dangerous than they think

sorry this is kinda messed up but i love adding mature themes to kids shows lol and if any students somehow find out about this, it adds much more reason for the kids to rebel.

idk if this makes sense!!! and im sure there are a bunch of plot holes there but im gonna post it anyway

im drunk and found this in my notes from 2021. 😭 I NO LONGER STAND BY SOME OF THESE OPINIONS. but most i do. a semantic sequel to this post

Raven Queen: no. hasn't she already been through enough? also i'd definitely lose

Apple White: yes. god yes. it would be so funny

Briar Beauty: maybe while drunk, but something tells me it would be a very bad idea

Ashlynn Ella: no. god, how depressing would that be? though maybe she'd have a chance if she went at me with a stiletto

Hunter Huntsman: yes, because it would be funny to see how he would try to avoid killing me instantly

Cedar Wood: no. what's the point? it's like trying to kick the shit out of a really polite coffee table

Cerise Hood: MAYBE IF I WAS FEELING REALLY MEAN. it would be funny in a similar manner to hunter, but with the added tension of me constantly going for the hood. i know ur shit cerise. don't play w me

Blondie Lockes: i consider fighting blondie lockes one of my primary life goals. i will curbstomp that bitch in the middle of her own livestream

Sparrow Hood: 100%, mostly for public spectacle. idk if i would win but I'm sure we'd have a wonderful time. unless he has his guitar on him because he would defo play dirty and just start swinging it like a mace

Duchess Swan: no thank you. ballerinas are strong and duchess stores anger like nutrition for the winter. she would break my neck

Darling Charming: i don't think so. depending where she is on public knowledge of her secret she'd either purposefully lose or just wipe the floor with me. awkward all round

Dexter Charming: maybe, because i think if he gave it a proper go he'd win and i feel like that would be good for his self esteem

Daring Charming: yes, because i know i'd win if i straight away went for his face. bust his lip open. it would humble him

Lizzie Hearts: no ma'am. maybe i'd fare better in hand to hand combat but i can't imagine she'd keep any less than four knives on her person and lizzie is not the type to hold back. im heading straight to hospital

Kitty Cheshire: no. it would be humiliating. i can't see how i'd even get a hit in

Maddie Hatter: absolutely not. i have no qualms with her whatsoever, also she'd definitely kill me by accident

Alistair Wonderland: sure, why not. i want to see what all that time in apocalyptic wonderland has taught him, and whether it cancels out his status as a fucking nerd

Bunny Blanc: no, because i don't want to go to jail for homicide. she is a 5 foot nothing rabbit who can barely stand up by herself. she'd die if i poked her with a toothpick

Chase Redford: NO. if he didn't want to fight he'd just silently let me hit him for like an hour, and if he was About It then he'd instantly fucking annihilate me. just leave the boy alone

Courtly Jester: I KNOW I'D LOSE BUT IT'S THE PRINCIPLE OF THE THING. I HAVE TO FIGHT HER. i might even have a chance if she wasn't allowed to pirate any dark magic

Humphrey Dumpty: i feel cruel for even thinking about this. he's a skinny gamer with a physical predisposition for getting hit. it would be like shooting fish in the most depressing barrel

Hopper Croakington II: NO. HE IS MY FUCKING BOY AND I'LL PROTECT HIM WITH EVERYTHING I HAVE. also i could just flirt and then stamp on the frog

Faybelle Thorn: yeah sure. this may sound egotistical but i'm pretty sure i could win if magic wasn't involved

Crystal Winter: yes. the bitch would trip over her own shoelaces and knock herself out

Random eah destiny hc that I don’t know makes sense or not. About the passing on of destiny.

Snow Whites Story is always passed down mother to daughter. So the prince would just be someone unrelated.

A lot of fairytales are like this where the son cannot take on the destiny, even of the father. Like if a Snow White was only able to have a son that son wouldn’t take on the destiny of the prince from Snow Whites tale (well actually in this extremely unlike scenario because they would probably just use magic to have a daughter, the prince technically could take on the dads role but like I’m just saying this so you kind of get the idea.)

And then some fairytales would be the reversed way with only the sons being able to take the fathers destiny.

In story’s where a character doesn’t have a specific love interest and then has a child with someone who isn’t a part of the story can pass the destiny on to either gender typically.

And then some story’s can be switched so one generation the daughter takes on the mothers role and then when that daughter has a son the son could take her husbands role.

Anyways I have more thoughts on the matter but idk if this makes sense

EAH au is interesting. Let me ask some. Who will likely be royals and rebels? I can tell Chenya being a rebel like Kitty who is the same as his mom but doesn't mind to rebel, Riddle being royal make sense to follow the rules, Rook being rebel because he rather follow the queen, and Ace being rebel because didn't like to follow the queen while Deuce is royal inorder to help his mom. What about Silver's relationship with the Diasomnia? I can tell he will likely be friends with them and a chance he will be a rebel as he rather follow them as a knight instead of attacking them. And Grim's role in the story? I also think Ortho being like Poppy, son of Hades yet doesn't have a destiny unlike his brother.

So I think some of the characters follow the alignment of their counterpart. So Neige,like Apple, is a Royal, while Vil is a Rebel like Raven. Like you said, Che'nya, like Kitty is a Rebel as well.

I think Ace and Deuce are destined to be henchmen/card soldiers to the Queen of Hearts. Like in Ever After High, something is wrong with Wonderland and a lot of the Wonderlanders cannot go back and that effects everyone in different ways.

My thought for Silver is that he is the son of Sleeping Beauty and that is his destiny. But something happened to his parents, maybe they passed or got cursed or they are simply busy being king and queen, and Lilia, who is one of the fairies that blessed Sleeping Beauty as a baby, raised him because he was close to Silvers bio parents. So they still have that father/son relationship but there is no mystery to Silvers origins. I think Silver is a Rebel. Because like Briar, he is extremely aware that he is going to miss out on a lot of things when he lives out his story. A century is going and everyone he knows is going to be gone, and there is no guarantee Lilia or Malleus will be there when he wakes up. So I think Silver is very conflicted. He feels he has to live out his mother's legacy even though he really really does not want to. Despite everyone thinking Malleus is purely evil because of his destiny, Silver knows better. Lilia was also close to the thorn fairy, Malleus mom, so he and Silver grew up around each other and get along. Idk what Sebeks destiny should be yet. Either he comes from a long line of background henchmen to villains and he's very proud of that. Or maybe he's the son of Tick Tock the Croc from Peter Pan, but again all their parents are friends so they grew up together.

Ortho, yeah I think that makes the most sense. He has no destiny, so he attends EAH because he's still the son of a story character, but he has no destiny and assumes he'll be some generic character or be an advisor of some sort to his brother when he becomes king.

Idia I think is a Rebel or Roybel, because he doesn't care about being king. If Hades is his story parent, that means he has to take part in a couple of stories, not just one. Like the kidnapping of his Persephone, dealing with Hercules, the whole Orpheus thing, etc. He doesn't want to be doing all of that.

Azul I would say is a Royal. He is perfectly happy with being the next Sea Witch, he's happy to make deals with people for his own benefit. Because this is the fairy tale world and not strictly the Disney animated universe, Azuls destiny is not a bad one, he doesn't lose anything, he's fine with his Destiny.

Jack as I said in a reblog of the original post is the Cerise in this and as such is a Rebel. the main difference being that it's reversed. Everyone knows Jack is the son of the Big Bad Wolf, but no one knows his mom is Little Red Riding Hood. He hates that he has to hide half of his identity and what his parentage means for his future, and wishes him and his parents didn't have to hide.

As for Grim, I think it would be a fun call back if Yuu was still from another world, but the Monster high world, and Grim is their companion.

I know there are a lot more characters but that what I got so far.

Crowsourced ideas for the EAH/OUAT crossover because I can't get it out of my fucking head apparently and I need to write them all down in a single place

Apple -> takes the place of baby Neal as Snow and Charming's second child, exacerbating Emma's bitterness because like, if you're a bit jealous that your parents are raising and doting on a baby like they couldn't go to you, that feeling must multiplicate tenfold if said baby is a little girl with blonde hair

Raven -> Regina's baby with Robin. Implies that Cora never dosed her daughter with an infertility spell and also that the whole Zelena pregnancy shebang was avoided somehow PLEASE I need this for my sanity. Has magic blood but ON GOD, Regina will bash Rumple on the head if he comes near her kid with weird power-teaching ideas

(when I made the first post about this I completely forgot that Sparrow Hood is a guy that exists in EAH, but it's fine, we can pretend he doesn't OR Regina can have twins - Raven and Sparrow are names that go so well together, after all! And the prospect is hysterical! Surely nothing could go wrong with those two in the same nursery!!!!!)

Ruby and Dorothy were implied to do some travelling together in the show, right? Maybe they could find the remains of a wolf pack like that of Ruby's mother, except all that's left is VERY mistrustful wolfblood young sisters Ramona and Cerise in severe need for adult intervention. Time for Red Kansas to become chaos moms and break some walls the girls have built, I guess

if Jefferson already has one daughter, there is no reason why he couldn't have TWO daughters! Enter Madeline/Maddie, AKA Grace's mad (honorific) little sis

Cinderella is already called Ashley in OUAT so I'd be loath to keep her daughter as Ashlynn but...Lynney? Lynette? Something? Anyway, a glorified Alexandra LMAO same for Hunter, though - for one, where would Graham get a son, and for two, would he name that son Hunter? Nope. Definitely not. Needs workshopping

other kids I have floating around are Briar (but Aurora is already pregnant in canon so whatever that's easy), Crystal (technically as the daughter of the Snow Queen she should come from Elsa or Ingrid's line, but that doesn't sound likely...maybe Anna and Kristoff instead?), Alistair Wonderland (probably Alice and Cyrus' offspring, but that would mean not interacting much with the rest of the crew), Lizzie Hearts (Cora has no right to a third daughter, so what's the closest thing to the Queen of Hearts? Anastasia the Red Queen? Idk??????) etc etc

and now the actual protagonist in my heart, Cedar Booth Wood

so because of Jojo's intervention, her backstory is established as such: she's the result of one of August's pre-canon flings that ends up in Storybrooke when she's quite young. That narrows the window of time where she could have been conceived before her dad was either wooden/a third grader/being a whole dumbass, but I wanted her to be about the same age as her friends and that means keeping her at about 5yo upon her arrival (timelines are wonky because OUAT's timeline IS wonky, but hardly anybody will even read so far, so ssssssh)

August is her nearest relation available, so that's why he gets a handful of child so suddenly. He is...a bit in shock, but he ends up loving her once the surprise wears off. Marco is OVER THE MOON because it's free granddaughter. Archie is just begging that at least ONE member of their family has a kid in a plain, normal way at some point in the future

then the angst kicks in because it turns out daddy's enchanted tree genes are just a little too strong and they resurface quite vehemently once Cedar steps foot in Storybrooke. Maybe she starts turning into wood, or has an averse reaction to lies, or both, I don't know I'd love it to be both, but I'm scared that I will get yelled at for torturing this child any further

the central point is - I was discussing this topic with @bewilderedmoth the other night and she had a STRONG hand in helping me reach the conclusion that a) this is probably the Blue Fairy's fault, so fuck her b) since Cedar is so young in this AU not only would August be desperate that she gets...cured? Un-cursed? Something, but he'd also realize that...shit. He wasn't much older than her when he got thrown into his personal hellscape. That's fucked up. Who thought it could be a healthy learning experience (see point a)? Unhand his kiddo RIGHT NOW or so help him

The Background Characters Of Ever After High Pt.2

The long awaited part two. Like part 1, I will be posting 30 backgrounders, I think this might be the final part because there are not a lot of backgrounders. Again credits to@eah-backgroundersfor all the ideas/inspirations and feel free to comment name ideas or who you think the characters are.

#1: Girl in Yellow and Blue Coat

She may be the daughter of The Girl-Fish from story of the same title By Andrew Lang. She does give of mermaid-y vibes. But I think she's she's either, The daughter of The Princess from The Frog Prince or The Princess and The Pea. I've noticed the checkered necklace and her belt design looks like a bunch of mini heart and I know the EAH loves designing characters similar to the stories they have so maybe she's from Wonderland.

#2: Girl With Vine Bracelets

(sorry for the tiny pic, I literally can't find anything else.)

Anyways, it has been confirmed that she is the daughter of Mother Nature, as chosen by one of the Guru Studios team member in which she is based off of. She doesn't have a name but she gives me librarian vibes. Obviously I think her surname would be nature maybe something like Sage Nature or like a flower idk.

#3: Girl In White

She may be the daughter of the girl from The Robber Bridegroom. Considering her feathery shoes and white dress, she may also be the daughter of The Goose Girl from the story of the same name. However as someone who's looked up both stories The Robber Bridegroom makes more sense for her design-wise, I don't at all see her as The Goose Girl like at all, I guess the feather might make her seem like that but I 100% think The Robber Bridegroom makes more sense so to me it's cannon. And I have the perfect name for her, Robin Bridegroom. Don't judge the name because I'm obsessed with it.

#4: Bob Cut Girl

She, along with Teal Buns Girl, may be based on evil witches in general. She may be the daughter of Mother Trudy, the villain of the fairy tale with the same name. I don't know about Mother Trudy but I def think she's like a witch or an evil fairy.

(Okay so that's all the girls just on the wiki, I've decided to do a seperate part even if I don't have 30 with ones I find because that's easier for me)

#5: Grey Sweater Boy

He may be the son of the king and queen from the Grimm fairytale The Girl With Silver Hands due to the fact that he has a hand print on his shirt.

#6: Red Vest Boy

So he's assumed to be the son of three fairy tales: The Traveller from the folk tale Stone Soup, Dwarf-Long Nose or The Muffin Man.

Tbh the only one he suits is the Stone Soup, I don't see him as the son of Dwarf-Long Nose or The Muffin Man, maybe his name could be some type of rock or some with the last name Traveller.

#7: Black Sleeved Jacket Boy

He wins the title as the most background character ever, he is so background he's blurry but I can see that he wears the same jacket as Daring Charming. So I'm going to assume he's like a cousin, because in the books I'm pretty sure they have a cousin. Either that or he's another Charming. Right now I'm just going to give him the name Rory (Irish - the “red king” because I think he has red hair) Charming.

#8: Green Beast

He is Rugsy, an ogre featured on Rosabella Beauty's diary.

#9: Black Scarf Guy

The way he's literally so pretty, like so pretty. So he is assumed to be of two stories. The Portuguese fairy tale What Came Of Picking Flowers collected by Andrew Lang. (The story is about a brother who seeks to rescue his sisters who disappeared after plucking enchanted flowers) But honestly I see him more as the other one. the Prince from the fairy tale The Flower Queen's Daughter, also collected by Andrew Lang in which a prince is sent to rescue the daughter of the Flower Queen. He gives of Prince/Rescuer/Hero vibes. Like he literally feels like he is the prince sent to rescue the daughter of the Flower Queen. (I was going to say maybe he's the Beast from Beauty & The Beast but then I remembered about Daring)

#9: White Jacket Boy

He may be be the son of a knight considering that his jacket resembles that of armor. I feel like name would be Sterling Knight and idk why, he just gives me that vibe. He also gives me jock vibes like I feel like this guy would play a sport. He seems outgoing like he'd be friends with Daring or something. He probably is a knight but other than that idk, now that I've thought about it he does give me knight vibes... maybe another Charming.

So that's the end of Part 2 because I think I have all the wiki characters down, let me know what you think about these backgrounders. And yeah, that's it. I know there are more so I will make a Part 3.

toph - okay maybe this is s stretch, but toph can Literally tell when people are lying. now, i headcanon toph to be a child of parents who Should be divorced but aren't, giving her the tendency to try and Fix things (just... in her own way). so, she'll feel that someone is lying about being okay and rather than calling them out on it in front of others, she confronts them privately and tries to help. i just feel like toph knows a Lot more than everyone thinks and she doesn't tell anyone 1. because she doesn't care enough 2. because she wants to fix things and 3. because she knows it isn't really her place and she wasn't willing given this information. ahem yes so anyways: toph is good at secrets and i will die on that hill <3 toph would actually prolly be the number one person that i'd trust tbh

If either of you know about Ever After High then picture the Book of Legends for Heroes and Villains of BNHA And Izuku and Mirio both rebel against Principle Nighteye who wants them to sign their “Destined” pages to be the next AfO and All Might respectively while Nedzu thinks they should be allowed to forge their own paths and write their own stories- not repeat history.

My personal Ever After High ships

No one asked but I’m doing this anyway. Here are my own EA ships. Maybe I’ll make a separate page or something on my tumblr to list them (idk the lingo here haha). I’ll include my anti-ships at the bottom because there are some I’m personally really opposed to.

In no particular order:

SHIPS

Darling Charming x Holly O’Hair - This is probably my one of my all-time favorites. Was there sufficient interaction in the show? Hell no, they spoke to each other one (1) time on camera. But they’re perfect for each other, I swear. Darling is a knight in shining armor, and Holly has always dreamed of the whole Prince Charming thing or whatever. She writes fanfiction about it, for chrissakes. Darling can be that for her. Plus, I’ve always pictured Holly as liking girls (no matter what she said in Thronecoming lol). Appling/Dapple is nice, but I think Darling can do better than Apple.

Raven Queen x Dexter Charming - One of the only canon ships, but a good one nonetheless. I really like them together. I forgot which post spelled it out on here, but someone else said that Dexter serves as the privileged, down-to-earth guy who feels misunderstood by his family, while Raven is the rebellious girl from the “wrong side of the tracks”. Even though Raven is still wealthy as the daughter of a king and queen, she’s still an outcast. I love that kind of pairing! Dex is one of the only non-Rebels to treat Raven like a real person. Raven teaches Dex how to color outside of the lines. I think they’re a good match for each other.

Lizzie Hearts x Daring Charming - No, I will not be swayed on this. Lizzie and Daring were the OG ship and another CANON pairing. Let’s dissect: Daring is dared by his friends to get a date with her. She has high standards (as she should) and doesn’t give him the time of day. He has to prove himself to her, not use cheap tricks to get her attention. After he takes her on an adventure (getting her out of her comfort zone), she warms up to him. Then she asks him to keep their date a secret, and he does! He takes the dare’s consequence on the chin to protect her reputation. This is honestly out of character for him, which is why I’m hyping up this otherwise bare-minimum act. This friendship continues into the books, as they interact a lot in A Wonderlandiful World. Lizzie and Daring complement each other, too: she’s a responsible, dedicated princess who never loses sight of what’s important. He’s a fun-loving prince who revels in public admiration. Lizzie can teach him to be more responsible while Daring can teach her to relax and have fun.

Ashlynn Ella x Hunter Huntsman - Not much needs to be said. Ashlynn has a vegan cheerleader significant other and you don’t. Jealous? I know I am.

Kitty Cheshire x Ramona Badwolf - She was a werecat, she was a werewolf. Can I make it any more obvious? They’re both snarky and mischievous. Plus, Kitty would have a chance to redeem herself after almost outing Cerise and her family.

Briar Beauty x Hopper Croakington II - I’m so sorry for all the straight ships :( I promise the sequel to The End of Ever After will NOT be as straight as EAH. Anyway, Briar and Hopper have so much potential. You can tell that Briar has warmed up to him throughout the series. First it was her turning him down and being grossed out by his frogginess. Then she enlists his help with the True Hearts Day dance (though I have a hunch that this was all thanks to Cupid). Then she tolerates his existence at Spring Fairest (and even saves him from being blown away on the Fairest Wheel). Then she enlists his help again with the recreation spell in Epic Winter. She likes him, people! I think Hopper is a really nice guy and a perfect love interest for Briar, who deserves everything in the world.

Duchess Swan x Sparrow Hood - I will die on this hill. They’re together in the *show* and I can prove it. After they “break up” in True Hearts Day (they were just friends then), you see them in the background together all the time. In Epic Winter, they were together when they were spying on Grimm. Why do they spend so much time together? Are they just friends? Or is there something going on between them? I think the second is much more likely. I love their dynamic and wish it was explored more in the show. Also, someone has pointed out that Sparrow’s necklace is the same shape as Duchess’s earrings. This can’t be a coincidence.

Chase Redford x Justine Dancer - I’ll admit it, this ship came out of nowhere for me. It is entirely based on the fact that I think they’d look good together. Ramona/Justine shippers are entirely valid.

Jillian Beanstalk x Lilly-Bo Peep - My final wlw relationship, unfortunately. I feel like Lilly-Bo is a girl who wants to go on adventures, but can’t because of her needy sheep. Seriously, those animals are constantly crying for her attention. Jillian is freewheeling and can help Lilly-Bo chase her dreams.

Alistair Wonderland x Bunny Blanc - The two most boring Wonderlandians deserve each other. Mattel screwed ‘em up badly. Chase/Alistair shippers are valid as well b/c I don’t even know with these two. I guess I like that they’re such close friends? And that they can’t tell that the other person has a crush on them? Who knows.

Nina Thumbell x Humphrey Dumpty - This is another wtf ship. I headcannon these two as being a year younger than the main EAH characters, and I think they’d be cute together, so it’s a ship. No questions please.

The rest of the characters will either find people outside the school to date or not date anyone at all (yes, I’ve headcannoned Cedar as asexual and aromantic, even as a “real girl”).

ANTI-SHIPS

Raven Queen x Apple White - I think @rebelliouslyeverafter had a great post on this. I’ll link it here.

Rosabella Charming x Daring Charming - This is a personal preference since I’m a hardcore Dizzie shipper. I cringe every time I watch Epic Winter because the show pretended like Daring and Lizzie weren’t romantically involved. There’s nothing wrong with the ship inherently, but I much prefer Daring being the Beast but not in love with Rosabella.

Cerise Hood x Daring Charming - Same reasonings as above, but there’s even less material to refer to with this ship (in my opinion).

Duchess Swan x Poppy O’Hair - Why.

All other ships are fine to me, even if I don’t agree with them myself. And of course, you’re free to ship whomever you like. These are just my preferences.

So someone made this post I thought was really cool and I wanted to answer it the person who made the post goes by @buh-beep so please go give that post a like and follow them with all that said here are the questions

1. What is the oldest doll you own?

Probably my Beautiful Crissy doll from 1968 although that may not be the date for that exact doll she is pretty old. She was made by the company ideal.

2. What is the doll you got most recently?

My Bratz Collecters Yasmin from 2018 by MGA. When I lived with my mom she bought her for me I think she gave me a card and we got it. I don't have her or any of these dolls anymore since I don't live with my mother for personal reasons.

3. Favorite Type of Doll?

Hands down Bratz. They have been my absolute fave since I was a little girl and i still love them their fashion, makeup just everything really is iconic and I really believe that they might have the same impact as Barbie once I get older. Now if we talk about favorite lines? That will have to be for another time.

4. Least Favorite Type of Doll?

Pinkie Cooper. It's cute I had one but I was just not interested in the dolls sadly I definitely think it was an interesting idea though and its probably perfect for some people I just never knew where she would fit in with my other dolls. Also when I saw my cousin and his ex they had stuff for me and for some reason I could only take two things home and my mom sorta had me take her home when I could have had a Hannah Montana doll so rip :p

5. How many dolls do you own?

Zero now rip but honestly idk. I had mostly Bratz and sorta collected but now I might genuinely try to collect them.

6. What is a doll you had and wish you still did?

Tan Bratz Passion 4 Fashion Cloe. I still really wish I kept her but I was going through this dumb phase where I just stopped caring about my dolls and we had this science project in school and I did mine on hair dye and dyed her hair using some fruit or something and gave her away. If anyone knows where I can get her (hopefully for cheap) please tell me I really loved her she was also one of my friends absolute favorites.

7. What does your wish list look like?

A lotta Bratz mostly but that would be a very long list so to save you the details two of the series I want are the Tokyo a Gogo dolls, Formal Funk and Flashback Fever.

8. Prettiest Doll you Own?

Honestly have no clue all of them are gorgeous but I think one of my prettiest is definitely Rock Angelz Sasha I would love to own more Sasha dolls shes so gorgeous.

9. Ugliest Doll you own but love anyways?

I don't think I own any ugly ones really just ones that had messed up hair so I don't really have anything to add here. Actually hmm maybe my first edition Cameron and Dylan Bratz dolls they are still cool though.

10. Cutest Doll you own?

Either my Barbie Peek a Boos or my Mindy Mint Chocolate Chip Yummyland doll. I love Bratz but I really wish I saw more cutesy but fashionable dolls I believe they should bring back Yummyland dolls they smell so dang good and because kids love slim maybe they could add a small bottle (in a shape of a drink) that smells nice too? Idk lol.

11. Biggest Doll you own?

A Barbie doll that is I believe 28" in size after that I would say my Beautiful Crissy Doll and than my Yummyland doll.

12. Smallest doll you own?

All of my Barbie Peekaboos and Polly Pockets. Since Polly came back I think Mattel has the perfect chance to bring back Barbie Peek a Boos. They are pretty small so I kept them in a basket I am used to the size of Bratz I find them easier to hold over Barbie Peek a Boos or Polly's.

13. What doll in your collection is worth most?

Hmm probably Beautiful Crissy tbh I wanted her because when i was in grade 8 i watched these old vintage commercials on YouTube and i saw her and i just thought she was one of the most gorgeous dolls. I don't have her now because again shes at my moms but I don't think I could sell her shes just really cute and I think dolls from that time and older are special and tell a story and show a different time.

14. Doll you will never buy and why?

Lamilly and American Girls. I know these dolls especially American Girls are very popular for a lot of people but I am not really into dolls that are supposed to be like me I like fashion dolls mostly or really cutesy dolls. I think American Dolls are pretty iconic in their own way but I just can't see me owning one and for Lamilly same deal I feel like its trying to put down other dolls and make Lamilly seem superior and I just don't dig it. I don't like Barbie's a whole lot but I dislike like Lamilly I think it's a good message but it just feels meh? Idk other dolls I will never own are Blythe's I have this thing with dolls with eyes like that and I think it would probably spook me a bit.

15. Strangest doll you own?

Pinkie Cooper hands down. Again she just doesn't fit anywhere and shes so odd and really stands out from the others not that that's always a bad thing but as someone who is mostly into Bratz, Monster High and Ever After High she just doesn't go anywhere although she would probably fit in maybe with the EAH dolls. Another is probably the big Barbie like I didn't want her I just got her as a Christmas present one year and yeah that's that.

16. Biggest Doll Related Regret?

Giving away that Cloe doll I will always regret that also almost wanting to sell my Bratz and not bringing my dolls with me when I left my moms and went to my dads. Also I just wanna say my dad is the coolest and one day we had a nice convo about toys and stuff it was pretty rad.

17. What's the most important aspect of a doll in your opinion?

I just want to say I absolutely love this question this is the main reason why I wanted to make this post. I believe the most important aspect is if the owner finds joy in that doll because if you don't we wouldn't have so many people collecting dolls and dolls wouldn't be sold. I think dolls are very important and can build up good skills. Another important aspect is if you can pose the doll and depending on if it's a fashion dolls is if it has good clothes and good fabric all of these are so important but as long as people find joy that's the most important.

18. What's your doll related pet peeve

People are gonna hate this and I apologize but I find it difficult to watch or look at people changing the dolls like not in clothes changing but repaints it's cool and some of them are absolutely gorgeous but sometimes I have a bit of a pet peeve of them mostly because I am so worried that I will never find those dolls because people use them and repaint them. Their aren't many Bratz repaints though so I don't get bothered too much and when they do repaints they make the faces so pretty and I would love for MGA to use some of the screenings some of these people use because they look so good.

19. When did you start collecting dolls?

This might be an odd opinion but I think that anyone can be a doll collector even if they don't mean to be like for me I don't call myself a doll collector but I sorta am? Even though I never meant to be but now I do want to collect but it started with Bratz when I was young but now I want to take it a bit more seriously.

20. Have any doll related stories?

Well I never first fought anyone I was way too young lol but I do have two good stories number 1 is on Christmas a few years back my grandparents before they both passed bought me a Holiday Yasmin doll from 2007 don't know how they found it but they did and I loved that doll but again at my moms rip another one is one Christmas I got two of the same Bratz Cade dolls and for the longest time I thought it was Dylan because the doll looked exactly like Dylan does in the movies and shows lol! I might go into more stories on my dolls because there are a few that I really like.

With all of these questions answered I will once again ask people who see this to go like and follow @buh-beep who made the original post. This was intended for doll collectors I believe personally I don't call myself a collector but as someone who loves dolls I thought this would be fun and it really was if anyone wants to this I suggest it. Its really fun and I like sharing this stuff with you guys.

I love your eah ouat crossover idea, do you have any more headcanons for this idea? I would love to see how rose is in this (if you going to keep her black, maybe the adopted child of belle and gold, gold do have an act for wanting people first born) you can also introduce kids thought the wish realm too, graham is likely not dead in the wish realm so hunter could exist, and there likely other prince chamming in other realms that not david too

WAIT I'D FORGOTTEN ABOUT ROSABELLA BEAUTY!!!!!!!! Fuck you're right I really need to incorporate her into the lore - could be the result of a deal gone south, or an actual adoption, or......much to think about, yeah. Especially since I really don't want to tamper with her ethnicity, so I'll find some universe jumping fuckery if I must. Also FAYBELLE - I don't know when Maleficent got the time to have a second daughter, but we need Faybelle around for the vibes.

I don't know about Graham, because his situation was very complicated, but you're spot on with the Charming thing. David even had a twin brother that was an asshole - wouldn't be a surprise if he'd had some (illegitimate?) children that can add some spice to the story. Also since OUAT picked tales left and right I'm STILL looking for a way to let Frankie (Whale, at this point) join the group!!!!! Either our Doctor friend had a one night stand too many or he sewed himself a daughter in his secret lab idk. I'd hate for her to be the only MH character I let in but a lot of monster parents aren't around (except Jekyll and Hyde, and some mermaids if we want to fuck around with Lagoona's parentage lmao) so we'll see what happens.

Finally this hasn't got anything to do with any smart idea but- what would the equivalent of following their destiny be in this universe? Kids who want to go back to fairy tale land and do stuff they think will make them "worthy" (eg. Apple, Daring etc) vs kids who want to distance themselves from that past as much as they can (eg. Cedar, Raven....)? We don't really NEED to find a substitute for that dilemma, but it would still be intriguing to explore.

allow me to rant about the only thing that has been in my brain for the past two months and that is doll customizing babeyyyyy

i know there’s a 90% chance that you wont give a Shit about any of this but here we go anyways

SO first you gotta choose a doll. preferably one with a high range of motion to avoid creating new joints or having annoying limitations like not having elbow joints for some fucking reason. what the fuck mattel. give monster high dolls back their ball jointed shoulders and elbow joints. smh

the most common dolls ive seen used as bases are monster high and ever after high. most customs ive seen are highly stylized so the stylized face molds work well for those types of dolls but dolls like barbies are good for when you want a more realistic face-ups.

once you’ve got your base picked out you gotta wipe that bitch’s face off with like. acetone or nail polish remover or something strong like that. you can also use acetone to shrink doll heads which is cool as hell imo. n e way once the face is wiped you gotta chop off the hair and remove the hair plugs from the inside. ive seen this done several ways but the easiest and most common way ive seen is to dunk the head into boiling water for ~30 seconds until it gets squishy and malleable. once you’ve got the head back, you can use pliers (i think tweezers would work in a pinch) to pull out the hair plugs which are kinda icky because theyre covered in glue and other gross shit. ew

now you must decapitate the doll. dunk em back in the boiling water to soften them back up then just tug the head off. the neck pegs look funky and are usually a different color than the body so thats cool ig

once the head’s off, you can start the face-up which is basically just giving the doll a new face using stuff like watercolor pencils, acrylic paint, gouache, and a whole lot of other stuff. hell ive seen people use person makeup on these dolls.

next,,,,, hair. there’s about twenty million ways to do hair from gluing yarn wefts to sewing to rerooting with purchased nylon doll hair or yarn wefts but i’m gonna talk about the most common one ive seen which is rerooting and gluing.

before you can reroot, you need doll hair. which, as i mentioned, can be bought at stores like the doll planet or made at home with yarn in literally any color. have fun with it! make rainbow hair or something idk

to make homemade wefts, you take some acrylic yarn, cut it twice as long as you want the hair to be (keep in mind you can cut and style the hair once it’s been rerooted), fold them in half, and tie it to something sturdy like a wire coat hanger for the next step.

once you’ve got your yarn tied to your hanger, use a pet brush and brush the yarn until it’s wispy and looks like hair. then take a straightening iron and iron the weft flat. then remove from the hanger and boom. hair wefts. ta-da

to reroot the wefts onto the head, use a rerooting tool (which can be as simple as a needle with the eye cut at angle) (just google it please i’m shit at descriptions)) to poke small sections of the hair into the head. you can use the pre-existing rooting holes for your own reroot as they’re usually pretty reliable. to reroot, take a small length of you doll hair (about 10-15 strands), loop it in half, and put the middle of the loop into the reroot tool. poke the end of the tool with the hair on it into the pre-existing hole and remove the tool. the hair *should* stay in and fill up that plug!! also remember to plug thickly at the hairline and part of the hair where it's most noticeable. it doesnt matter as much in the center of the head as that’s not usually visible on the doll. once you’ve rerooted, squeeze in strong glue through the neck hole and squish around the head to make sure it covers all the plugs and secures them in place. then pour hot water onto the head to make the hair lay flat for styling later.

also, you can reroot yarn directly into the head to make thicker, more textured hairstyles. and since the yarn is thicker, you dont need to glue the inside of the head for the hair to stay in place!!

if youre not doing body modifications (which are also cool as hell) then it’s time for clothes but clothes are boring and i like body mods more so i’m gonna rant about them instead

the material ive seen most doll artists use is apoxie sculpt, which is like play doh on steroids. it comes in two parts which you gotta mix together for some reason. why dont they sell it pre-mixed. what was the reason. also once it’s dry it’s super super strong and you can sand it, drill into it, paint it, and all kinds of stuff. very nice and i want some for myself.

you can use hand saws and drills and shit to whack off doll limbs to make stuff like digitigrade legs or new joints. also dont be afraid to use other mismatching doll parts when customizing like heads and bodies and forearms and hands and shit. it literally does not matter if youre gonna recolor the doll anyways so have fun with it. make frankenstein’s doll if youre feeling spicy

accessories my beloved. stuff like tiny beads and clay baubles and shit will literally transform the entire doll plus they’re adorable and multi-purpose

i suppose i must talk about clothes now. ah well. you can find great clothing patterns if youre new to customizing on other customizer’s etsy shops and probably google although those will probably be lower quality than paid pattern pieces. and keep in mind that if it exists as clothing irl, you can likely make it doll-sized. there are literally no limits to your clothing options as long as you can execute your idea.

the once all your components have been made, you can assemble the doll again!! and finally see what all the parts look like together!! very cool 10/10 stars.

little did you know that dolls have been one of my favorite things since like ever. if i can read a 25 chapter long fanfic i can read this B)

mattel definitely fucked up by completely ruining MH doll designs and just stopping EAH, alot of their profits most likely came from people who collect and customize dolls and by changing MH doll designs/Stopping EAH dolls they 1. most likely lost a small (or big if we're not jus talking people who customize dolls) part of their profit and 2. made it harder for doll customizers to make dolls/get commissions out rather quickly because they probably have to waste more time making joints or learning how to make joints.

EAH/MH dolls (specifically MH dolls) had AMAZING MODELS because there was so much variety with height, face shapes, etc (my favorite molds had to be the short/tall dolls and the cat molds because of the tails) and doll customizers really went all out with enhancing a molds unique features. The only "downside" abt MH dolls is that they (or atleast most)(from what i remember)) had slimmer faces but wider eyes while EAH dolls have wider faces with slimmer smaller which left a canvas for the face and not the eyes (and vice versa for MH dolls)

I've never seen any videos where a barbie is customized (maybe because i absolutely despised barbies at the time) so I'll definitely have to check those out but they seem to be good for realistic makeovers. I've seen like like semi realistic makeovers for EAH/MH dolls that were pretty good too tho (pretty sure mostly EAH dolls since yk MH dolls were used for creature makeovers while most EAH dolls weren't)

yeah i was always amazed by the head shrinking with acetone. honestly i still am?? idunno i have no idea how that chemical bullshit works. Ive seen a few of uh makeovers that just pain over the face (in multiple layers ofcourse) but that's usually when they're painting the entire body a different colour (again usually when they're turning a doll into a funky little baby man). I've also seen a few that just chop the hair off and take out the hair plugs yk without uuh like softening the head or just go straight for the hair plugs after taking off the head (i used to do that it was funny to me??). i always really liked when they used watercolour pencils or just colour pencils in general to draw/sketch on the face cause like wow ur drawing on ur doll without ruining it?? kinda epic maybe even poggers and pogchamp?? oh god my brain is failing wjshsmsj.

Watching them putting the hair back on the doll was, other than the face stuff, was the BEST part for me. Favorite type of hair was iuuuuuh was either thick yarn or brushed out yarn. Literally worship the people that would reroot the hair, theyre the most patience people on this earth!! it's literally insane but i guess that's what happens when you've been doing that for years? you guess kinda get used to it. when they put glue into the head does it just become stiff?? like it's just a clump of dried glue or does it like..hollow out again??

dude you literally cannot convince me most of the supplies used for doll makeovers. APOXIE CLAY LOOKS SO FECKING GOOD. its edible and i will die on that hill. The body mods are literally so amazing!!!!! it's so impressive how theyre able to imagine certain features THEN LIKE ACTUALLY MAKE IT LOOK ACCURATE TO WHAT THEY WANTED TO LOOK LIKE AFTER LIKE ON TRY (or many yk trial and error is very necessary for..everything). Absolutely loved when doll customizers would saw off a dolls legs and use different ones or just completely get rid of the torso to use a different one. it's like uuh that one big guy that's mismatched and sewn together. very cool. The accessories are so fun!! just small little details you seen really need but can add because it's your feckin doll!! I used to be absolutely obsessed over the doll clothes i would find on etsy, so much so that i started sewing shitty shirts and dresses for my uh "customized" dolls (they were absolute HORRORS idk WHY my mom let me feck up my dolls like that).
