Really awesome command-line programs I've discovered on GitHub
I'm a data hoarder, so all of these have to do with downloading and saving media. I also use a Mac, so all of these are MacOS-compliant via Homebrew. If you also use a Mac (or Linux), do yourself a favor and install Homebrew via Terminal right now- all you need to do is copy-paste a line of code into Terminal and it will open you up to tons of awesome programs that normally only run on Windows.
Anyway, onto the list!
Yt-dlp (Youtube/Video downloader): On top of letting you rip Youtube videos directly from the site, this program supports a huge array of other video/media websites. The program is highly customizable as well; I would highly recommend at least installing FFmpeg, which allows you to download videos in quality higher than the default 720p. Here's a guide on how to do that for Windows and I wrote a guide here for Mac (I forgot to write in the guide that you should install FFmpeg via Homebrew).
Mangadex-dl (Mangadex downloader): Allows you to download manga directly from Mangadex, the hub of scanlation. Like yt-dlp it is customizable and you can pick which chapters you want to download (useful if you only want to download current chapters you haven't gotten before).
Gallery-dl (Bulk image downloading): A godsend for an art-hoarder like me, this program allows you to bulk download things like Pixiv pages, Twitter galleries, Deviantart galleries, Instagram pages, etc. Like yt-dlp it is highly customizable. Some websites (like Pixiv) may require user authentication; the GitHub page outlines the steps each authentication process requires.
List of other command line programs you might find interesting on GitHub
I'm sure I'll add to this list as I find more cool stuff on GitHub!

4.1.24 - the importance of learning new things
As much as I think academic & work focus is incredibly important going into the new year, one of my other goals is to practice doing more: to learn all of the things I want to do, in addition to work, in addition to writing. I want to know how to do thousands of little things, and I think the longer we wait, the less likely we are to do them.
Picking up a new hobby doesn't have to be buying a dozen textbooks and spending hundreds of dollars on lessons because you might have the slightest interest: it can be from whatever you have here, now, and you'll never learn if you don't get started.
Some of the things I've been getting into (as I've mentioned before) are baking & crocheting. it just feels so cozy and nice & I love the idea of comfort.
here is a list of things I want to / you should try that's new!
learning a new language. fifteen minutes a day, I kid you not. I'm learning latin on duolingo and I don't ever think about it, but when I do it (25 day streak 💪🏻), I'm starting to notice my improvements
consuming good media. and that's not scrolling for half an hour on tumblr. it's books—deep ones and silly ones and ones about romance and dragons and apocalypses. it's movies! I watched keira knightley's pride and prejudice twice in the last few months, and also three men and a baby which is something I never thought I would watch, but it was quite funny I think. and I learn from it: I cannot write humour or romance for the life of me, so it's basically studying to write (is the self-gaslighting too evident?)
learning to crochet. I made a silly little headband today, after scrolling through pinterest and desperately wanting one. I started crocheting in december to give as gifts (I completed none of my wips, much like when I write) and used the tools I had around me: an old rainbow loom hook and whatever string I could find. now I'm proud to say I can read somewhat fluently crochet acronyms.
baking. I keep saying this. I know. but when I tell you a two years ago I was exploding cupcakes in the oven and last month I made bakery-style cookies...I made bread! a loaf of bread! (in a bread machine, but it's so good and I instantly made another. there is one in the bread machine right now). honestly it just made me feel that much better about improvement, and trying new things, and that is the mindset I want for the new year.
learning to code. in all honesty, I never thought I was a compsci - engineer kind of person. then this year, out of sudden (masterminded) urges, I joined a bunch of tech and robotics initiatives, and maybe it's the sense of community (I can rejoice in finding another nerdy group) but now I am happily chauffeuring myself to these meetings 4h a week. I'm looking into pursuing more into the fields of eng and science. and I'm learning some code from one of the friends I've made!
starting a blog. ...I know most of the people who linger around my blog stay for the writing content (the last posts have turned this writerblr into a digital diary, and I'm only half sorry for that). but since I've joined tumblr (almost three years ago now!) I've got to meet so many wonderful people (including you!) and want to try so many things.
and I get it. it's overwhelming. so here are some starting goals that maybe I'll try also.
start doing art. -> make a card for someone as a gift.
learn a new sport & start exercising. (I'm trying out track & field in the spring, so stay tuned to figure out how that goes) -> see if someone will come play ball with you. do 1 or 2 youtube workout videos a week.
film videos of your daily life. it doesn't need to be for posting! -> edit together clips you've taken for a last year recape.
start a scrapbook. -> print out photos and dig up construction paper. decorate a page.
make a poetry journal. -> go on pinterest to read poetry! pin styles you like and set fifteen minutes to writing.
make a regular journal! -> write once a day. just try: goals for the day in the morning, or a recap at night.
try your hand at gardening. -> research plants that grow well in your region. see if any of the seeds you may have at home are useful. water your lawn. buy a plant and try to keep it alive (set reminders, leave it in front of your sink)
learn to make candles. -> watch a youtube tutorial. see if you can play around with candles you already have.
play chess. -> see if someone will play chess with you. no? chess.com is right there. go make an account. go find a stranger.
learn to play an instrument off youtube. -> maybe you have a piano sitting around, or a guitar you've never touched. you don't even need to master it. pick a song you like and google that. no instrument? maybe there's a way to play drums with home items.
go for a run. -> once a week. a set time. just shoes and the outdoors. too cold? go to a gym and use a treadmill. maybe that's not possible? skip rope.
start / join a book club. -> just you, or some close friends, or people online. a book a month. talk about it.
** on that note, would anyone like to join a tumblr book club? slide into my asks and maybe we can get a blog list!
thank you for reading again <3 until next time.
k.

Asks about VaM, art advice, and miscellaneous stuffs
Tumblr media
HI! Real quick please refrain from referring to Sad Sack as S/S for the uh... Obviously reasons LOL We call it "sads" for short!
If what you're asking for are recommendations for a website to host that kind of thing, Neocities, Twitter, Itchio and as you mentioned AO3 are all perfectly good options! Patreon too (depending on how gnarly you're planning on getting) but I'd suggest keeping that as a secondary host option because I don't think it lends itself super well for getting your work circulating. I believe Bluesky allows that kind of thing too, but I'm not too sure since I don't use it.
Now, If you're asking about public reaction rather than guidelines, anywhere you go you might find people that don't jive with the work you do 🤷 just be upfront about the type of content you're making right off the bat to avoid having anyone stumble upon it by accident to the best of your abilities, otherwise, I wouldn't worry too much. I know we're constantly exposed to examples of overwhelming harassment and "dogpilling" happening to others but... Truth be told, most of us won't ever get to the size/internet level of fame where we experience that. I think the threat is a little bit... Overstated, nowadays. Not to mention that most of the time people are getting harassment for things that have nothing to do with their work, and rather relating to their behavior and attitudes. Play smart, be responsible, and be honest! Whatever comes next is in god's hands LOL
Thank you for the ask! Not sure I was of much help 😅 but frankly when you're just starting out it's best to focus on getting the work done first and just throwing it out there, wherever it may be. You can worry about technicalities like that later!
Tumblr media
I GOT YOU MAN the full sketch is now up on my patreon!

YES AND YES WHETHER IT BE STORIES OR ART OF DU DROW AND YOUR CHARACTERS SLAMMING PINTS TOGETHER BE MY GUEST PLEASE
I love seeing everyone's take on my weirdo so much, anything is honestly welcomed!
Tumblr media
AW DUDE thank you so much! Especially for suffering through the mammoth of a story that ANE turned into - writing has never been my strongest point so I'm always shocked to hear from people that enjoy it 🥲
About the booze question, honestly I'm not picky at all, I usually go by price and by that I mean whatever is cheapest LOL but I prefer a dry white as far as types go.
Tumblr media
You only have to pay for it once! You get a code that unlocks the software and all of it's features and you're free to cancel your subscription after that. At some point the code might change or there might be an update that requires subscribing again - but that seems like a very rare occurrence so I wouldn't worry about it.
Tumblr media
OH NO I HAVE DEFINITELY TRACED MY OWN REFERENCE BEFORE, but not entire poses! When something is challenging I'll make a point of drawing it out the usual way.
I can remember a couple of instances from Nick and mine's comic where I traced pictures I took of myself, just as a time saving measure. Again like I said in the post, there are several ways to employ tracing your own material that is perfectly acceptable. I have also traced bare-bones 3D backgrounds that I made for the same reasons.
I know you specifically asked about tracing when something's complicated, but I still wanted to be upfront to demystify the practice under different circumstances. The rule of thumb is to never use it when you know it would be inhibiting your skill development!
Tumblr media
Happy to hear you wanted to pick up the skill! I definitely understand the urge too LOL since playing BG3 and becoming so invested in the stories and characters my art has improved a ton, simply from forcing me out of my usual style and making me want to capture different moods and scenarios - finding something you're passionate to draw is, frankly a great damn start.
I replied to a bunch of asks asking for pointers and advice a while back, one of the questions was very similar to yours and I still stand behind the advice I gave then. Hopefully you can find something helpful here! https://meanbossart.tumblr.com/post/740543514692173824/some-art-advice-asks-ive-been-meaning-to-reply
Tumblr media
HMMM I don't usually think of myself as the best teacher/tutorial guy, but funnily enough I can think of a few things about this topic that I could elaborate on lol. If I do that in the near future, I'll put it up on my patreon (for free as with everything else.)
If there are any specific things about it that you (and anyone else who would be interested in it, for that matter) find challenging and would like for me to focus on, let me know!
---
That's all for now folks, and as usual thank you so much to everyone who's left a nice compliment, word of encouragement or funny tidbit in my inbox as well! I can't reply to you all individually, but I see and read all the messages I get c:
HAVE A LOVELY REST OF YOUR WEEK

Hey everyone! Time for the bi-weekly tumblr update for WSC.
For those also following the GS updates, I apologise for that update being so short and this one being quite more detailed. When you're earlier in the development process for a game, there's more to do, so there's more to talk about. And in the late stages when you're doing something like beta testing, sometimes there's just not much to report because of where you are in the process. (づ ̄ 3 ̄)づ
Summary
Finished Kav ch 4, ch 5, ch 6 content
Started on finishing out the remaining routes (more below)
Coded Kav's sprite
Finished the music room art
Ramble
Okay, so let me jump into what I've completed on WSC.
As before, my main focus on WSC has just been writing because I really want to get it done by the end of the year, which I am on track to do
The game is now at 353,000 words.
The remaining content is composed of LI-specific scenes for Kav, Noel, Raif, and Yren from Ch 7 - Ch 12.
I have around 25-30k words per remaining character to complete for the rough draft.
My goal was to try to reach 75% (¾) of the way through the writing by the end of October. I actually am already at that milestone. I ended up hitting it far faster than I anticipated. So now my big goal is to get the last ¼ of the game drafted by the end of the year.
I feel like the parts I've written in the last few weeks were sort of "easy" compared to some of what is ahead so I don't know that I'll make progress as fast through the remaining content. Progress obviously waxes and wanes based on how difficult it is to draft a given section of story.
So yeah, that is where the writing is right now.
Artwise, I have received a new BG and one new sketch since the last update. BGs continue at a rate of 1 completed BG every 2 weeks or so.
And I coded Kav's sprite. (I also made some small sprite additions - mostly outfits) for other characters. But nothing major.
I finished the remaining music room artwork as well. And I've been working on editing the existing CGs to account for the fact that the conference room (which is the BG in those illustrations) now looks completely different. LoL.
Screenshots:
I don't think I've shown any of the new BGs outside of my server, so here are a couple.

Upcoming Weeks:
Basically I will continue to write for a couple of hours a day in the upcoming weeks as I wrap up the development phase of Gilded Shadows. With around 112,000 words left in the WSC rough draft (give or take), I am really hoping I can just make steady progress towards the completion of the draft so I can start revisions.
Though I've been picking up a few little art-related "To Do" things here and there, writing will be my focus for this project until the potato draft is complete, which will be a few months from now.

We've done it!
Or, more accurately, you've done it! Thanks to you, my fellow Tumblrinas, I've actually managed to hit 200 followers!
I never thought I would get this far, but I'm eternally grateful for all the love you've given me, and I can't wait to share many more brainrots with you!
In tune with that, I've decided: Why not let you look even further into my mind? I've given you lots of writing, but why not provide some visuals? And so, in thinking about what I wanted to do for my 200 followers celebration, I came up with...
⁕ Evie's Mind Palace Festival! ⁕
Tumblr media
(Placing a cut so this doesn't get too long ^^)
As depicted in this lovely graphic above, I'm going to be focusing on my OCs' fashion for this little event. But not just that! I'll get to the bonuses later :)
For now, text version! Because Tumblr likes not loading images and some people may not be able to view the image
↬ Step 1: Pick an OC of your choice! From my OCs, that is. Hope that was clear. Anyone from the list. I'll even throw in a little bonus and say that unintroduced OCs are allowed! That means the ones on this list AND ones I may have rambled to to you in a chat we've had.
↬ Step 2: Pick an occasion prompt! The prompts are as follows:
Casual (aka everyday wear, aka their basic character design or an alternate outfit or it)
Formal
Training/Athletic
Battle (this may overlap with either 1. or 3. for some characters, but let's assume they actually get geared up for battle)
Hot weather (your typical summer clothes)
Cold weather (sweaters, winter coats, you name it)
Swimwear
Canon event (may overlap with some other categories, but I made this a separate thing for the lore opportunities it provides) - Make sure to specify what canon event you want!
Stealing clothes - You can include who the character should steal from in your ask, otherwise I will pick the victim myself.
Holiday-themed - Pick your holiday! Any holiday counts.
Fandombend - Pick your fandom! (This will probably come with some headcanons on what the OC would be like in the new fandom)
Inspired by a song - Please, pick a song! Preferably from the OC's playlist. I should have a playlist for almost every OC. Hop into the "#playlist" tag on my blog to find them and, if they're not posted over there anywhere, tap on any playlist that's there, let it take you to my Spotify profile, and hop into the "Character Playlists" folder!
↬ Step 3: If you want, pick an extra prompt! Your options are:
Historical - Please specify your time frame! You don't necessarily have to, but I tend to be an indecisive little gremlin, so it would make things a little easier if you could pick ^^"
Fantasy (This, of course, makes little sense if the OC is already in a fantasy setting)
Sci-fi (Once again, this makes little sense if the OC is already in a sci-fi setting)
Steampunk
Cultural - Please pick a culture for me to take inspiration from! It doesn't have to be a real-life culture. For example, you could pick Japan for some kimono art or you could pick the Kuja from One Piece!
Color prompt - Pick your color! I ask that you do keep it at one color so that I have some more freedom, and I won't take specific hex codes either because those specific hex codes might clash with the OC's color palette
Prompt of your choice - This can be literally anything! Yes, also an occasion, in which case it would replace your original occasion prompt. I just didn't have the space to add in all occasions known to man, so if you have another idea, this is where to put it.
↬ Step 4: Send your ask! Done!
Once you've sent your ask, please keep in mind that it might take me a while to answer it. I'll then make a collage/moodboard and get the ask posted. Maybe, I'll also draw your prompt, depending on if I have the energy and/or time for it. If I plan on doing that, I'll let you know in the post and tag you once I have the drawing finished! I may also be swayed into adding a little fic snippet to the answer, if I do feel so inclined. Maybe a song to match the vibes? It'll be a little surprise!
► Rules:
Be nice! It's not hard, and it's basically all I ask.
This is the one time you might not want to shower me in asks because these asks might take a bit to answer. I'm not putting a cap on how many asks per person you're allowed to send, just maybe be mindful of how long they take to answer and space them out over the time of the event.
I'll be accepting asks from the time that this is posted until March 17th. The event ends with the strike of midnight starting the next day. Whenever that may be in your time zone. As long as it's still 23:59 on March 17th somewhere around the world, send in your ask. I might also extend the event if asks keep coming in and I have the energy to keep going.
↬ Additional info for mutuals: You get to ask for crossovers! Just pick one of my OCs and one of yours and I'll try my best to draw them. I might bother you for references though, so be prepared! It doesn't matter how long we've been mutuals for! It could've been five minutes, you're still allowed to send in crossover asks. As long as we're mutuals, let's say, at the time that the ask is answered, it's all good. In practice, that means that you just need to be following me to be able to send in a crossover request. If you ask nicely and maybe say something about why you'd think why our two children would go well together and we share a fandom, it's very unlikely that I'll deny your request and won't follow you back.
Also, if you've ever wanted to say something about my OCs and/or me and my blog, this might be the perfect time for you to do it.
Okay, that's it for now! Love you, everyone! Here's to more fandom-y shenanigans!
Tumblr media
Also, behold my new non-OC post divider! It features a lineart sketch of my blog icon in the middle! The icon was designed by @benevolenterrancy pretty much exactly two years ago when they realized my old icon was not, in fact, a unicorn. I still go full-on heart-eyes mode whenever I see my icon, so I figured it was time to remind everyone of the amazing artist that created it <3
Taglist: @starcrossedjedis @oneirataxia-girl @daughter-of-melpomene @fluffle-system @wheresmybloodynauglamir @supermarine-silvally @nanukanal @cody-helix02 (I believe this is the first time I've ever used my full taglist, aka the basic taglist plus everyone from fandom-specific taglists - wowie!) - Let me know if you'd like to be added or removed, for specific fandoms or the general list!

You know how the other eggs' lives are in constant danger? What if every other day or every few days you spun a wheel or flipped a coin to see if anything dangerous happened that and then picked out something randomized like mob attack or code attack and people had to draw how they saved the egg or vote on how to save them.
Idk, I just thought it was unfair that Ai doesn't have to encounter any of the dangers that the other eggs do and it might help spice up each week. Just so it's not just tasks and stuff.
True, events of some sort could be interesting. I don't want there to be too much actual danger for our little Ai, since I know as Autumn starts a lot of people get busy and I don't want this project to get legitimately stressful and/or end too early, but some sense of danger/some extra goal could be very fun.
Hmm... Alright, I'm going to throw this idea out there, and I'd like to see what people think of it, and anon tell me if this is something like what you're thinking.
Every week, probably starting on the Sunday update and ending on the Saturday one, there is an overarching mission/danger/ect that goes on for the whole week. Like the tasks, you can draw or write something for them, but you have a lot more time to do it so feel free to take your time and not rush.
If I have the time, I might see if I can make this be a sort of choose-your-own-adventure kind of thing, where common plot points from the responses could affect how that mission ended and affect future missions. Try to give this project some kind of ongoing story, you know? I think that would be fun. I like making stories, and this would be a very interesting format to do it in.
These events would not be required, but these also have the ability to change how this project goes. If there's a danger event, the more people take part, the safer they'll be at the conclusion of the event. If there's a positive event, people taking part will lead to more progress and happiness in that event. Plus, details of your art or story could influence future events.
If people are interested in this, I will consider the building-A1-a-room to be this week's event and start the next event next Sunday.
Also, I will be messing with the tags a little bit - adding one for event submissions and probably changing the task update to something else, since those aren't just tasks anymore and they're getting mixed up with some of my other tags. I'll update the tags list if I do.

15 Questions!
Tagged by @gaycey-sketchit !!!!! Thank you so much for the tag, and I loved reading yours! Long post, sorry lol.
1. Are you named after anyone? Nope! Not to my knowledge, anyways. Though if my mom told me that she named me after Taylor Hawkins from Foo Fighters, I would not be shocked.
2. When was the last time you cried? I think monday? I cry really often, at every single emotion. Happy? I'm going to cry about it. Laughing? My high school theatre class would always point out when they made me cry laugh. Sad? ABSOLUTELY crying about that. I didn't cry but I DID tear up yesterday because I was really happy about something nice someone said to me.
3. Do you have kids? Nope, and no intention of having them. Regardless of my desire to or not (usually not, being the oldest of four is enough for me), my health is not, and never will be, in an acceptable position or ability to go through that, and I've accepted that for a while now.
4. What sports do you play/have you played? As a kid, I played soccer and did gymnastics! In middle school, I BRIEFLY did fencing. My mom told me that when I was fencing is the only time she's ever seen me look truly graceful (lmao, love my mom dw. She's right). Then health stuff came up and I had to stop, but fencing just came as easily to me as breathing did. I always wonder where I'd be if I could have stuck with it. Nothing's ever immediately clicked with me the way fencing did, but it's hell on my joints.
5. Do you use sarcasm? Sometimes, usually when I'm annoyed which isn't TOO often. Or if I'm being hyperbolic for a joke.
6. What is the first thing you notice about people? No clue. I guess their demeanor- if they seem happy or not, if they look stressed, how they're feeling (or how I perceive them as feeling, I guess).
7. What's your eye color? Blue! My friend swears up and down that they're kind of green. I think she's colorblind.
8. Scary movies or happy endings? Happy endings!!! I am not built for scary movies. I can do some buzzfeed unsolved and I can watch markiplier play indie horror games but that's kind of my limit. I LOVE some types of horror, but my anxiety does not. I will be paranoid for a month after.
9. Any talents? I can play music by ear. Give me a guitar and a random song and ten minutes at most!
10. Where were you born?
Tumblr media
11. What are your hobbies? Landscape/scenery art (also other art but it's much harder), writing, playing guitar (used to play piano too but not well. I also own a ukulele that I'm bad at, but generally I can play something on any instrument you give me). But mostly, I pick up and put down hobbies all the time. I've dabbled in crochet, embroidery, sewing, painting, archery, coding, needle felting, gardening, cooking, a little bit of everything. Never long enough to get good at most of them, though. I get bored too quickly.
12. Do you have any pets? A lovely husky (shelter girlie <3) and a gecko! And, for the gecko, a bunch of crickets at any given point in time, which I guess counts because I have to take care of them, too.
13. How tall are you? 5'2 and a half. 5'4 with my doc martens.
14. Favorite subject in school? Assuming lunch doesn't count, I was a theatre girlie. Assuming THAT doesn't count, English. I liked English because if I didn't have an answer, I could just bullshit one, but I usually did enjoy it and had real answers. I'll tell you why the curtains are blue and why they're the specific fabric they are and what the rest of the room means- if I'm interested, anyways.
15. Dream job? Oh boy, uh. Still trying to figure that out. DREAM job, like, without worrying about money or my physical ability to do it? Pro fencer, but I gave up on that a looong time ago. I genuinely believe I could have done it if my knee hadn't gone to shit at fourteen. I'd love to work in a record store or a music store, though, which is a little more in-reach.
Tagging: Anyone who sees this, lmk if you do it from this post!! But also, NO PRESSURE AT ALL but @soulsilversprings @nowandevermore @lostlegendaerie @mozukumi !!! Also whoever else wants to, I get nervous to tag people so assume you're tagged, too!

FAQ
(will be updated as time goes on)
What is this being written on?
ChoiceScript. I would try Twine, but my other game has a nice steady base on ChoiceScript, and I'd rather not move it over.
Can I make fanfic/art/etc? Can I show you my MC/fanfic/art/etc?
Yes! Please do! I welcome it wholeheartedly!
Do you have a patreon or ko-fi?
No, not as of right now. This will change later.
Is the rating 18+?
Yes. I'd say I believe the minimum age would be 17+, due to sexual content that can be fade to black.
Note: All sex scenes will be fade to black on the public demo. A private demo will be available for patreon or ko-fi donators when we get there which will include the explicit scene option (think ao3) and the "lite" version (think published smut).
How is the story formatted?
It will play out similarly to a dating sim/otome game. There will be 1-2 common starting chapters and then it will branch out into 6 routes for the ROs. All routes will have the same 6 key plot events, but will be different in how they're approached.
How many endings are there?
At least 6?
The endings will scale off of how many main events you succeeded in and the selected RO's relationship towards you. That means if you have a high relationship with your RO but have done poorly with the main events, you can still achieve a good ending.
Are there any poly routes?
Not as of right now. The coding for poly relationships is a bit too complicated for me to do right now. This may change as I get more comfortable with it.
Does MC have to romance someone?
Yes, that's the point of the whole game/story.
What are the characters ethnicities? Are they Chinese?
The world of Nian is heavily inspired by China and the Tang Dynasty, so the characters would be Chinese, but I don't assign real ethnicities onto them.
This isn't historically accurate!
I know. That's why I said it's inspired by China, fantasy period C-Dramas, fantasy period pieces, and romance manhwa/manhua.
How does magic work in this world?
As of right now, I don't have a lore post about magic, so here's a quick breakdown.
Everyone can use magic. Some people have Magic Aptitude, which means they have more ability than most people. Magic is classified into Elemental Type and Class.
Will XYZ be in the story?
Maybe. This is a WIP so it's possible.
How are WLW/MLM/Queer relationships viewed/treated in the story?
They're fine. No one is homophobic.
How are women viewed/treated in the story?
Everything is mostly viewed about the same, as in it's pretty much equal for a majority of people. But a few things have lingered on from tradition (i.e boys inherit over girls, etc).
Help! I can't pronounce the names!
I provide helpful pronunciations for the characters' names on the Side Characters page. There will also be pronunciations listed in the stat page of the game.
How are the names written?
All names are written in the LastName FirstName format.
If I write something like "Consort Huo", it's the equivalent of "Mr Smith". For those who understand, the last names are monosyllabic while the first names are disyllabic.
Does MC have a set name?
MC has a set last name (Nan), but not a first name. You can name your MC whatever you'd like.
I encourage using a disyllabic name, for immersion and the fact that it would be the most "accurate". I provide 3 examples of disyllabic names in the game, but you can ultimately name your MC whatever you want!
Can you help me pick a name?
I certainly can! Just send me a private message (not an ask) with the name of your MC, and I'll find a name similar in meaning or pronunciation. Please be sure to tell me which you want, similar meaning or similar pronunciation.
Does MC have a set personality?
A bit, although it's more traits, as of right now. They will never want the throne, they are a good sibling to their siblings, they enjoy social events, and they are well-educated and a little bit naive from their position.
Does MC have a set appearance?
No. MC's appearance is up to you.
Can MC be trans?
I'm planning on it. There won't be any references made to a transition, though, and it won't affect anything besides the sex scenes. You'll have an option at the first sex scene to set what your MC has.
Will MC become the ruler? Can MC overthrow their father/brother? Can MC hurt *insert person here*?
No. Male MC is 4th in the line of succession and Female MC is 14th in the line of succession. MC loves their family and would do nothing to hurt them. MC will not perpetrate any kind of excessive violence against anyone.
Does MC have magic? Can MC do magic?
As mentioned before, everyone has magic. MC does not have Magic Aptitude, however, so their magic is on a normal level.

Kuron lance and allura for the headcanon thing(if that's not too many lol)
Kuron-
Headcanon A: realistic
After that time on the ice planet he started keeping extra water pouches and snacks with him at all times
He does not like the smell of burning meat
Headcanon B: while it may not be realistic it is hilarious
He enjoyed being a paladin in monsters and mana so much he was planning to cosplay his character when he got back home :)
Also pretty decent at cooking and uses it to make fun of Shiro
Headcanon C: heart-crushing and awful, but fun to inflict on friends
He had even picked up some cloth he could use for cosplay, it got blown up with the castle since no one thought to pick it up with him being yknow
Headcanon D: unrealistic, but I will disregard canon about it because I reject canon reality and substitute my own.
CLASSIC LIT NERD!KURON FOR THE WIN!!!!
Lance-
Headcanon A: realistic
Knows a Guy™ for everything, like even the most random and specific ass situations he just Knows someone who can get them out.
Also big fan of point and click puzzle games, and is getting pretty good at it too
Headcanon B: while it may not be realistic it is hilarious
His grandma taught him how to shoot as well as other things like administrating first aid, carjacking, how to read and write in code, impersonation, 5 different language etc. When asked why she just said "for the future" and didnt elaborate
Lance and Hunk once pretended to be toxic-couple-fighting-in-public-and-making-a-scene as a distraction for Galra long enough for the others to complete the mission
Headcanon C: heart-crushing and awful, but fun to inflict on friends
Because of the entire died-but-revived and altean marks thingy he will either end up dying slowly or has extended life and is going to outlive almost all of his friends and loved ones :)
Headcanon D: unrealistic, but I will disregard canon about it because I reject canon reality and substitute my own.
I have said this before but i'll say it again cause this is my favourite hc. I do not care what canon or fanon says but Lance is bi with shittiest taste in men. It's alright my boy, i perceive you, i know you have kissed men and i know they all fucking sucked.
Lance went on spy missions while the entire time Lotor was staying in castle and Keith was gone
Allura-
Headcanon A: realistic
She really doesnt like healing pods, or going to sleep and first thing she does after waking up is check the date and time
Also she would have loved glitter bath bombs
Headcanon B: while it may not be realistic it is hilarious
She loves building pillow forts. Lance and Hunk showed her how to make one and that is now her go to stress relief
Also she knows how to play an altean equivalent of a hurdy gurdy but like can only play altean equivalent of Wonderwall
Headcanon C: heart-crushing and awful, but fun to inflict on friends
As a little kid she used to look upto Zarkon and Honerva. You know how little kids have these adult figures (not parents) they really wanted to impress? That was Zarkon and Honerva
As a kid she was much more interested in Diplomacy and altean martial arts than in alchemy despite being naturally gifted with it because she thought the lessons were too boring. She regretted than when she woke up 10000 years later
Headcanon D: unrealistic, but I will disregard canon about it because I reject canon reality and substitute my own.
She was researching on altean alchemy even before Lotor showed up to feel a bit closer to her culture
Technically she can pilot any lion because of her bond with them i do not care what canon says

Wire Witch Hex - Wearing Many Hats (Font Design)
Lately most of the traffic I'm getting on this blog has been people stumbling onto my multipart series on how a computer works. Glad people are enjoying that as much as they seem to be. My reason for teaching myself all of that (besides just the joy of learning) is I'm very slowly working on designing a new video game console that anyone sufficiently motivated can build for themselves as a neat little DIY project. There are so many moving parts to this project that for now I'm focusing mainly on just the controller and its unique features. To avoid having to make a whole working console, with software, to test it, and make sure I have something to show for all this if the rest doesn't pan out, I'm designing the controller to also be more or less compatible with the NES and SNES (which secretly use the same input standard, just differently shaped plugs at the end of the cord).
This means all I'll need to test and demo my controller is an SNES ROM that knows what to do with my scroll-wheel outputs, a setup where an emulator accurately handles those signals, and later a cart I can slap a couple EEPROMs into and test on real hardware. Oh and I also need to teach myself enough about SNES development to actually create every demo I want to run, do all the art, code it up, and compile it. This is a big job, and I'm not getting paid, so maybe consider throwing me a little money before we dig into this?
Since... really the last time I reported in on this, I've been studying away trying to learn all this, and hey, have a compiled ROM image that'll display a blank screen in any color I want, and a third party program that IN THEORY with a bit of massaging will convert a 256x256 image into an SNES character ROM image. AKA the file with all the graphics. My ultimate goal for this demo cart is to cycle through several very simple games, showcasing how my controller works with each. So I need to cram every image any of these are going to need into my one big image file, which I'm slowly picking away at, but the one thing I knew from the start that I'd definitely need is to throw some text on screen explaining the controls for each demo. And since it's not like there's a built in font in in the system, I had to make my own.
Tumblr media
This is not my first font-making rodeo. For this one, my thinking was, I'm going to be in a fixed 16x16 resolution per character (because I forgot the specifics of how the SNES actually tiles graphics), some built in spacing so I can slap them all right up against each other or some border and still be readable, and I wanted a nice little shadow built into every character in case they end up on a low contrast background. Let's zoom in on what I have here so far, in case you don't feel like downloading the file and blowing it up to something more readable.
Tumblr media
The first thing I want to note is that after finishing the first 4 rows of characters here, I double checked, and while the SNES CAN break backgrounds into 16x16 tiles, the absolute minimum is 8x8. If I were really trying to be space efficient, I should have designed around that. Several of these characters would easily fit into a 16x8 space, that level of compression would also let me have just the period and comma and be able to build a colon, semicolon, or apostrophe from those, and most importantly, I rendered this with all of the lowercase letters exactly 1 pixel too tall to fit into a 16x8 space and let me double up there. Since I'm rather happy with this font so far and I'd eventually like to make some version of it available for, if nothing else, other people writing software for my eventual console here, I will likely, at some point, make a more space-optimized variation. I'd also like to cover a wider range of characters. At the very least, have some accent marks, wouldn't be too hard to add support for Cyrillic. Pretty sure I can get Japanese and Korean text in keeping with this look. Maybe some other languages. Anyway though, let's talk about what I've got.
My general design rule here was, where possible, make lines 2 pixels thick, and have each white pixel cast a black pixel shadow immediately below, to the right, and the diagonal between them. This gives a pretty convincing relief effect in my opinion, and keeping the shadows this thick keeps a nice firm edge there so it's even generally readable on a pure white background. Within each 16x16 tile, I was extremely strict about keeping a 1 pixel margin clear at the top and bottom of each image, and 2 or 3 on the sides (often 3 on the left, 2 on the right. With capital letters, I went with a generally rigid and blocky style, trying to stretch things to my arbitrary margins. Lowercase letters I restricted to just 8 pixels tall, and those featuring tails are given special permission to drop down an extra pixel, leaving the shadow right on the edge of their true bounding box.
While it wasn't an intentional move at first, several lowercase letters ended up with a decidedly rounded, squashed look, particularly g and q. I found that to be both kind of cute, giving the whole font a real unique character, and eventually started to actively lean into it (which may not be super obvious, I started with W as it's kinda the letter than needs the most breathing room and worked outward from there), and did my best to distort all the rounder shapes and in particular the highly mirrorable b d p q set, as I seem to recall once reading the more you avoid identical shapes with those, the more legible the font becomes for people with dyslexia. Similarly, I made a point of distinguishing the shapes of the Ms and Ws, and added a little whimsy to the numerals. Overall I'm super happy with all the lowercase letters (except for e and s being too thin, but that was an inevitable compromise), and if I ever have the time to kill it's very likely I'll revisit this someday and apply this squishy rounded aesthetic to the capitals too.
Your eyes were probably drawn really quickly to the parentheses here, where for at least the moment I'm breaking my rules about blank space and shifting them inward quite a bit rather than centering them. That's going to look really bad if I use them in a sentence (like this), but the main reason I'm including them right now is so I can list button prompts with both the icons representing what's actually going to be on my controller, and the SNES buttons sharing the same signals. So something like: "GO (A) Jump" and I think the half-spacing and closeness to what they enclose will look pretty nice in this one specific case.
As a final note, the particular hardware I'm working with absolutely supports the ability to mirror any image horizontally or vertically, as well as change the palette. If I truly wanted to cram letters in as efficiently as possible at this font size, I could, for instance, have an 8x8 right-angle segment, build a whole H just from mirroring that, also use it for the legs of the A, P, F, the left side of the D, etc. This however is incompatible with the shadows I'm using for extra readability. And of course for other projects I HAVE made a perfectly legible 8x8 font before.
I'm pointing this out because hey, if you do the math, JUST these characters I've set aside for having arbitrary on-screen text, as is, are consuming 5/16ths of my total graphical memory, and I'm probably never even going to display most of these anywhere. Again, not a huge problem for the simple demo pack I'm making, and that 256x256 drawing space isn't a hard limit. Spending an extra processor cycle to change an index value and access a whole other page of image data is a pretty common practice on the hardware, but especially with older computers and racing to get things ready to draw before a screen refreshes, it's good to at least be mindful of the tradeoffs with that sort of thing.
And again, my sole source of income at the moment is patreon donations, so if you're excited about seeing updates to this weird project of mine or you're learning useful things from any of it, maybe consider throwing me a little support?

It definitely is! I always love some AUs, but I have so much trouble coming up with them for this show because so few things can match the energy of being at war together. The small space and the trauma and everything else combine to create some really interesting character dynamics, and they're so hard to replicate in a place with lower stakes or more space or just anything where one of the variables is changed. I have so much respect for someone who can write it well (and will definitely read that fic) and wish I could do the same! But hey, making things far more complicated than they need to be is the life of a writer 😂
I completely understand how you feel with the canoe ship though, I am the Queen of Canoes in a couple of my other fandoms 😂 I literally originated a ship tag for one on Ao3, so I'm right there with you on the tiny ships I would go to war for lmao. But yes BJ is so husband coded all the time! BJ Papa San showed it most explicitly, but even just the little things he does in camp are him trying to connect to the husband and father part of himself he left behind when he got sent over to Korea. He's a good person, but he also so genuinely enjoys that role, and it's so obvious to see if you're looking for it. We love a man that's respectful and kind 😤
Mulcahy is so interesting, and I look forward to that episode mentioned! Due to several literature and art classes over the course of my schooling I have become very good at using my Catholic upbringing to completely overanalyze Catholic media, and I am absolutely delighted to be able to pull it in here. It's clear that Mulcahy is genuinely kind and believes in goodness, and I think if he ever comes to the realization that religion isn't always the way to show that it'll tear him apart. He's devoted so much of his life to his religion (hell the man is named after three saints, he was practically BORN to be a priest) so anything that can dismantle that would hit him really hard. And unfortunately, I love throwing my favorite characters into difficult situations, so sorry in advance Father. I loved the glimpse into his head in Dear Sis, and I genuinely had to rewind a few times to watch Hawkeye talking to him over again. It's just so a u g h (affectionate)
I also just finished C*A*V*E and oh boy oh boy I could probably write half a novel on this already but I'll try to keep it short for now. The Hawkeye and Margaret connection! The deeper peek into who Hawkeye is as a person rather than just a doctor, and what actually makes him tick! Margaret sharing her own fears and offering to sit with him to make him feel better! BJ staying close to Hawkeye when he had to come check on his patient in the cave so Hawk knows he has someone safe nearby! Margaret and Hawkeye facing their fears together! Hawk playing a dumb little game with her in the OR to take her mind off things!! This episode is truly making me Feral oh my god, I don't think it will ever leave my brain, it's just gonna live there now.
It is SUCH a good show! I knew it was before but now that I'm actually watching it through I'm getting the full weight of it and god it's a masterpiece. You can talk about the cultural impact all day, but it's hard to truly understand w h y it had such an impact until you're watching it yourself and picking up on all these little intricacies. I've been keeping a list of good episodes for myself, just for Personal Reasons I can't really explain, and there are f a r too many episodes on that list already. So many are just so good, I want to remember them and rewatch them and frankly just roll around in them like a dog that's found a particularly nice patch of grass. This show already shaped me when I watched it with my parents when I was younger but genuinely I don't think I will be the same after watching it all the way through. Just, what a show.
Weeping. After reading this, I had to go check my Canoe status. In this fandom, I have originated 5 ship tags (Trap/Peg, BJ/Leo, BJ/Klinger, Margie/Klinger, Sam/Sid/Hawk) and I have been between the 2nd and 5th story in 10 more ship tags (Sid/Beej, Marg/Beej, Trap/Mulcahy, Trap/Margie, Hawk/Klinger, Marg/Beej/Hawk, Trap/Klinger, Sid/Beej/Hawk, Sid/Sam, BJ/Charles). Why did I do this to myself. It's a lonely life isn't it hfksdfds
But it also makes perfect sense that this fandom is ripe for rare ships because though they are in the center of a situation that demands order, there is very little sense of actual social order as they might experience back home. I think even if I wasn't The Way I Am with multishipping, I'd still be compelled to go, "Yeah, you know what, everything is pretty permissible here. The line between friendship and lover blurs often. There's not much demand for monogamy among denizens of this camp. They're seeking comfort and love where they can find it and they're all very good at giving it." It compels me idk
I'm really enjoying hearing your thoughts about Mulcahy!! I feel the same way about him as well, how he's ripe for a thunderbolt realization or two that his faith isn't going to be the Way and, in fact, is often dealing the damage in a lot of situations. I love you mentioning his three names, though. It immediately takes my mind right back to Trapper and his own long series of very Catholic names. Trap, I am putting you in a jar and staring very hard at you. Tell me your Catholic past. Did you really consider becoming a priest. Why didn't you and Mulcahy get more screen time together.
CAVE MY BELOVED. CAVE, my Margaret/Hawk/BJ thesis (yes, even in a platonic sense, I promise, no one come for me). I think the first time I heard BJ say, "Thank heavens none of us has to stand it alone," I had to pause and fold my hands and stare at the wall. The support all three of them give each other. BJ bringing a cup of comfort and it being passed to Margaret because Hawkeye knows she needs it too. It always makes me sad when people read that as a jealousy moment from BJ when he snuggles down just as close to her and isn't being snippy or annoyed at her presence. He cares them! He cares them both! And such a really lovely way for Hawk and Margaret to continue sinking into each other, to carve out even more level ground between them, ugh. I'm unwell about it. It's so delightful.
It really is so fascinating, returning to this show as adults, huh? It's a completely different experience. There's some grief there because we can still relate to so much of what they're talking or snipping or griping about in our modern, continuously-war-waging era, but also it's absolutely remarkable how timeless it has become. And being able to analyze it now with such depth due to the easy streaming access and the online fan communities, it's incredible. Chef's kiss.

Game Hammers 2
This is the second week of game hammers. WOW! Two weeks already, we've come so - so so so - so far. Nolam This week my parents were off for vacation, so I was in charge of taking care of my 3 siblings. On top of that, it was back to school, so it was an intensely busy week. I'm going to categorize my progress this week so that I can better parse my thoughts. And I'm also going to write as the week goes on starting from Tuesday, April Eighteenth, 2023. ~MUSIC~ Since Christmas I've picked up the violin, and I do my best to average around two and a half hours of practice every week. I've also been taking violin lessons! I started with electric, but the electric violin my mom bought me isn't suitable for practicing, so I switched to an acoustic one for now. To be honest, I don't have much to show for it, but learning instruments is difficult and it takes time and dedication. It's really a battle to find motivation sometimes, but I think it's a good continuous goal. ~SCHOOL~ School is nearing its end and it's a slurry of conflicting emotion. On one hand, I'm completely mentally prepared to leave high school behind, and on the other hand, I sense I'll miss it. Life is about moving on though, and I think I'm ready. ~GAME DEV~ If you watch game dev Youtube, there is a popular Unity developer named Blackthornprod. I've been watching their videos for years, and they've helped me grow as a developer. There is a series of videos called "Pass The Game Challenge" on their channel, which works like game dev telephone, and I had the pleasure to participate in it for a second time this week. The most difficult part of these challenges in my opinion is dealing with other people's code. The approach that other people take in making their games is kind of perplexing, especially when they're given a strict time limit. I edited together a recap video of me turning what I got into the base for an adventure game about avoiding the mighty sun. You can watch it here: Recap
Tumblr media
I'm pretty proud of what I did for the game in just six hours, and I gave the recap a story which I felt made it flow nicely. I had lots of fun participating and hope I can do it again some time.
~ART~ I've been working hard on my art final project, which includes over 5 pieces and my process of development. Hopefully in the next log, I'll have compiled some professional-quality images of my works. ~PERSONAL~ I want to become more positive. I've noticed in conversations I often have a critical point of view, and though criticism can be constructive, I often end up tearing people down, and this is a trait I want to leave behind as I move into adult life. Spebby
Wassup Hammers, welcome back to the Spebby section of the Game Hammers blog. This week was slower in terms of learning compared to previous weeks, but I still have some things to share. I’d like to focus on my mid-semester break to Lake Tahoe: I’ve only been once before, but this time I tried skiing for the first time, and I sucked pretty hard! As we headed up the Gondola my partner told me all the stories of where and how they broke their bones along the slopes, even pointing out the exact tree they broke their arm on. I myself thankfully avoided having any  particularly bad crashes, but I must have fallen at least 30 times. The most painful crash ended in a splits, with both skis still attached, and both of my legs caught on something
Tumblr media
My first descent took 2 hours, but eventually I managed to do it without falling on a repeat descent. Eventually, I headed up to the summit of Mt. Pluto. Most of the ways down were Black Diamonds, there was a path down that was a Blue. While I had only ridden Greens up until that point, I thought I may be able to handle it with a few stumbles. I very quickly realised that it was way too steep for myself, and had to literally roll down the mountain. Unfortunately I don’t have any videos of photos. But I do have one of the peak. It had a beautiful view of Lake Tahoe. It was quite surreal to be honest. Before I had gone to Tahoe I always held the belief that the place was overrated. I had known many people as a kid who’d go up every year. But when I finally did go up it all clicked and I had a newfound appreciation for my adoptive home state.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And of course, the views on the drive back were quite something. We didn’t stop, but I got some great photos of the snow covered landscape. It was actually quite surprising how much snow there really was. Prior to heading up I was told that this time of the year, there’s little snow on the mountain and usually none in Northstar’s Village. But there were mounds of snow as tall as people all over the place. Hopefully, I will be able to return to Tahoe this summer and visit the lake properly again. When I had been last, it was too cold to swim, so maybe I’ll get to do it this summer!
Tumblr media
Flodo Heya
Heya' my fellow Hammers, it's me, the Brazilian, Flodo. I've been doing art and making prototypes that get fixed and turned into the games we've released so far! Although after Boolliards I haven't done anything interesting, here's a fun fact: originally, Egg Rush was gonna have the player be an unhatched egg walking around and punching chickens instead of rolling and groundpounding them. Like and Share for more epic facts next week or something! Nolam (again)
I wish that Flodo would write more in these blog posts. I know that he's a capable artist with a drive to create, and that he has lots to share and be proud of.

A question actually addressed to me (i think based on context: @iwillgotoheavenforyou correct me if I'm wrong), so I guess I now have to take the time to answer it because "It's the autism," is entirely too pithy an accurate response to be useful.
Tumblr media
How do you know so much
The first caveat to say is that I don't actually know all that much: I'm fond of saying, "I pretend to know things," and that's not really true because I do know things, but I generally give off the vibe that I know more stuff to a more indepth mastery than I actually do. This is cause of three four things.
I'm a knowledge generalist: I don't know a lot about most subjects but I pick up a little bit about everything.
I'm autistic and for me that manifests in being very good at connecting dots to draw beautifyl patterns, even given a small number of data points.
I'm autistic and I'm very particular about how I phrase things, with nuance and depth, such to avoid being misunderstood.
I was taught how to do basic research, and I try to make a habit of doing it before speaking when unsure about something.
I typically only know enough about something to be dangerous; often I need to look things up to remember exact details but I also try to make a habit checking my position on the dunning-kruger graph before speaking by looking shit up: You will however semi-regularly find me called out for having misjudged where exactly on that curve I am enrealis; and one whoopsie-daisy of a conversation with some actual expert later I'll admit that to being wrong on the internet out-loud for the world to read. It's never a pleasant experience but I assure you, I'm always so very brave about it. That's how I maintain the illusion of knowing so much™.
Now as for how I actually go about knowing things, well the things I know a lot about were either special interests of mine or things I specifically learned about in school and college. I went to the liberal arts school ███████ where I learned a shit tonne of information and then my autistic brain started connecting dots and forming opinions about things I have no business having opinions about. I have never filed my taxes (on account of not making enough to be legally required to file taxes) and yet, I have opinions about W2 forms which I won't be sharing here because they're not relevant.
My actual areas of expertise are quite limited in scope to 400 creative writing, 250s math, (english) literature, 200s chemistry, biology, physics, psychology, economics, art theory, painting, computers and coding, 100s of many miscellanious disciplines, blorbo from shows, shows, minecraft, and my lived experiences as an left-handed autistic queer white dude whose shoelaces deep into tumblr. This is a normal amount of things to know stuff about.
I know just about as much as anyone else who is my age and has had my level of education, but my autism might make me marginally better at connecting threads across multiple disciplines to apply knowledges in synasthetic ways, but mostly I'm practiced in the art of appearing to know what I'm talking about (not because I want to seem smart but because as a baby autistic being labelled 'smart' made surviving K-12 easier for me.)
How do you have time to write in such details
I'm fortunate enough that my living situation is stable such that I don't need to hold down a job nor make a living and can spend most of my time shitposting, seriousposting, and playing minedcraft.
I do type faster than most people because I'm a left-handed person both because I type a lot and because I'm using a DAVORK-L instead of QWERTY. I actually can type fast enough to cause minor-major sprains in my right wrist. I don't tend to do that, but it's happened and will continue to happen in the future.
But mostly, I just start a post and type until it's finished. I enter a fugue state and exit it hours later +1 reblog. (This matches my general approach to creative pursuits like writing and painting.)
How do you remember all of this
Most of the time I don't. There are two relevant modes of memory (there are a bunch of others) recall and recognition: I'm good at exactly one of those things; and well, my brain is not a well-ordered library of facts that I can look things up in.
It is a mireous bayou that swallows knowledge to rest beneath its murky waters; and if I'm looking for a specific factoid I need to navigate through the generally unmarked trees until I find a vaguely familar spot or happen upon the information randomly.
The thing you don't see is all the memory aids I have when posting about topics I'm less sure about. I have a folder on my computer called knowledge I put inforgraphics in. I have a folder in my browser book marks (sorely in need of organization) called use where I keep my citable links to stuff. When I need to know a specific fact and I can't find it in the bayou of my mind, I open 2-6 tabs on wikipedia to search for it, some of which I link in the post, and some of which I don't because I'm lazy or I actually did.
I don't remember all of it all of the time: I've recently started systematizing the tools and strategies I developed over the years to help me find my way back to specific information so that theyr better at helping me navigate the murky waters of my mindswamp, but most of the time anything I techincally know is completely forgotten about until it's needed again and dredged from the muck.

Hiatus Announcement
I have made the decision to discontinue work on Feelin' Kinda Cocky altogether. Admittedly, it was ambitious, even when I started it back in 2020. I am just one person doing a majority of the work. Minus the beautiful art Rose provided for the Tumblr banner, everything done in this project so far has been on me. And except for a writer I haven't spoken to since the very start of them writing the Jeremy route, and the few artists who I will forever be grateful for volunteering and being patient, I would continue being the one to take on most of the work, which would include writing the routes, likely some art or art concepts, GUI design, coding, and original music. If I were a professional, I might have been able to handle this project pretty well. But I'm not a professional, just a high school senior.
However, I'm not entirely cancelling FKC. I can't promise it'll return in full, but I might shelve it and come back to it at some point. It really just depends on how my life goes. But for now, I don't really want to continue. I love Be More Chill and its characters. Really, this musical has reshaped the way I think about a lot of things, and it's dearly important to me. However, I've realized that I..don't really like the fandom all that much. Don't get me wrong, I've met some of my best friends and the most supportive people in my life from the Be More Chill Amino, but it's just not a place I feel welcome in anymore. (If you want a more detailed explanation, I will be making one shortly on my main account, CeceliAnonymous22.) I would rather move on to spaces I feel more comfortable in, though I don't regret my time in the BMC fandom.
All that to say, I'm not going to be working on this any further for a while. However, even if I do decide to not pick up FKC again, I might release Rich's route separately, since his is the only one I have completed so far. Maybe as a tribute to a classic ship that, thanks to the butterfly effect, opened a lot of doors for me. But other than that, I will be moving to pursue other projects in other fandoms. Likely, I will be trying to make more fangames, since being a game developer is, quite frankly, my dream job. But I'll be starting out small.
Thank you to everyone who helped or supported the development of Feelin' Kinda Cocky, a Be More Chill dating sim and my (now) former passion project. If you have any questions/comments, the inbox will still be open and I will answer. I appreciate you all.

Hayo first time asking (as far as I can remember...) and I've never done one of these matches before so I'm down to give it a try and roll the dice 🎲
Let's lay some basic information down with bullet points
-I'm biromantic and asexual (meaning I'm romantically attracted to both men and women but have a very low libedo)
- I've taken multiple quizzes on soul traits, cause let's be real they're fun and 8 times out of 10 I've gotten justice so that's my metaphorical soul trait
- I look good in dress shirts
- I eat a lot
- I'm short (5'3)
- I have both black hair and black eyes
- I'm white (who would have guessed)
- I wear green clothes except for one yellow/brown outfit that a wear for Job interviews
- and finally I would wear rings over necklaces any day, they're just easier to wear
So to continue with my personality I'm on the jokester spectrum, pranks aren't my Forte and neither of puns but I'll say the most out of pocket things that'll catch you of guard and have you rolling, I'm adaptable to people around me so I can mesh with other groups but with complete strangers im a bit shy. When I dislike someone (which mostly happens if the the do something that rubs me the wrong way) I will hold a grudge and it could last years, and finally I have a bad habit of bitting off more then I can chew and then choking as I chew it anyway
Moving on to hobbies after that mouthful, I have a wide variety of randoms I pick up, to mention a few, crochet, sewing, embroider, slideshows, art, coding, baking (I made a fire cheescake), cooking, writing, Pottery, reading I think you get the idea, oh wait, can't forgot mythology (particularly Chinese mythology). You should go to the next paragraph before I take up more of your time-
For my likes I am an avid enjoyed of all things fruit, in particular berries, my favorite being raspberries which are especially good frozen. I love the sky, particularly clouds and stars, my favorite weather is when the clouds are defined in shape and the sun breaks patches through it. Fall is a good season for me as I thrive in cold temperatures, half my friends are convinced I'm cold blooded since my skin is frozen all the time. On the opposite spectrum I like fire, fireworks, hot meals (LASAGNA, hibachi, lo mein and pot stickers) Rollercoasters, fairy lights and dystopia movies and literature.
Finally moving on to dislikes, don't worry it's almost over. I despise sand, it gets everywhere and is a pain in the butt to clean up. I hate it when people act entitled to something or act pompous, and when people make a huge scene in confronting the person in a white knight way, it just rubs me the wrong way.
The end
If you read through all of this gabblygook I commend you on your perseverance so feel free to take your time with this. I'm completely ok with multiple matches and wouldn't mind some polyamory so go as nuts as your creative brain desires
I really like how you did your matchup essay! It’s very creative and fun to read!

You match really well with Syrup!
✨✨
(US Papyrus) Syrup:
Syrup is a jokester true and through, loves to send you memes and funny jokes and gets excited to find out your reactions. Your out of pocket comments are the highlight of his day.
Hope you don’t mind lots of snuggles and cuddles throughout the day the further you get into your relationship. Syrup is a very touchy boy. Even though you wouldn’t think so when you first meet him and at the start of getting to know him. He’s a bit distant in the beginning but as you get closer he both gets more sand more open and touchy till one day he’s just practically a koala clinging to you. (Not really, but you get what I mean.)
This is also a funny thing, one moment he’s sticking to you like glue and the next he’s retreating to his skeleton cave room for some alone time.
Another funny thing. This boy has no problem hugging, snuggling and touching you but the moment you initiate something he’s a flustered mess. It’s downright precious.
The both of you are in the ‘hold a grudge for a long ass time’ squad. Though Syrup is a bit more petty in that regard. Sometimes you’ll have to put him straight.
(Syrup just because the guy in front of you took the last blueberry ice cream, it’s still no reason to give them the stink eye.)
Hope you don’t mind damsel catching, treating minor injuries or are good at untying stuff, because Syrup is one clumsy boy. He trips over air out of nowhere - don’t worry, Syrup isn’t all that heavy when catching him so no need to be worried about your back - blurts out sentences that aren’t completely English or are a combination of multiple things (for example when he tried to say ‘waffle’ and ‘pancake’ and ended up saying with a serious expression; “do ya still have those waffalapacake?”) He forgets the door wasn’t open and walks straight into it, or gets his clothes or headphone cords stuck/tied up with anything and everything.
Syrup will deadass joke/pun whenever you catch him when he trips. It’s to deflect that’s he’s very flustered because, oh stars you’re so close and, OH STARS YOU’RE HOLDING HIM VERY INTIMATELY, BE STILL HIS SOUL.
One of those jokes is definitely this one : “heh, can’t help falling for you, eh?”
Syrup is in awe at the amount of hobbies you have, whenever he’s just laying around he likes to watch you do your things. It’s just so calming to watch and he loves seeing the process of unfinished creations getting finished. It’s just so fascinating. He will boast about you to his friends and brothers. This is the law. He is just so proud of you and finds you so cool. He once asked you to teach him pottery and he blushes everytime you touch him to guide and teach him how to do it.
You two share your experiences, opinions, advice and tips on coding with each other and help each other out when one of you is stuck. Syrup is very happy he has someone he can geek out with about coding and electronics other than Undyne.
Loves and I mean loves listening to you ramble about Chinese mythology. He loves learning about other cultures and their folklore. You two will definitely bounce off random mythological facts and tales off of each other.
Syrup is not a fan of real life fireworks because it’s so loud, but watching them on a screen is more his style. When he found out you liked fireworks he researched how to make some, so be ready to be surprised by some magic infused fireworks as gifts every now and again. (They don’t leave waste behind nor are very loud or dangerous, so win win.)
Stargazing definitely becomes a thing for you two, Syrup is able to name a few constellations but not many. He knows for example the Puppis and Mensa. And yes exactly for the reasons you’re thinking of. What can I say, Syrup sometimes has a childish sense of humor.
Syrup isn’t one to make a huge scene, he’d rather solve stuff behind the scenes. He doesn’t like having the spotlight on him in a situation. So you’ll be fighting your own battles most of the time, with only a little magic interference from Syrup if it’s getting out of hand.
✨✨
I hope you enjoyed your matchup!

I'm deeply in love with Visvar, have been ever since I saw your first art of him. May I pick your brains for more about him? Background? What sort of person he is? Have you ever written a fic for him? Any crumbs you feed me and I'll be like
Tumblr media
Omg thank you so much I'm happy you like him 🥺 I love that you made a meme for this 😭
Background is, uh, a wip, I'm truly abysmal at creating backstories. I'm sure majority of it wouldn't even be something extraordinary; he was taken to the order at a young age and has grown up on Tython and probably was a total brat to many a frustrated master... I can talk some about what he is like though!
I like calling him a himbo, but that is not entirely true, since himbos are known for being nice. While Visvar is not unkind, he can be quite rash, ridiculously stubborn and blunt, and often comes across as a rude person.
He's also quite ruthless, in a sense that he sees a clear path to a goal and is able to make sacrifaces and be merciless if that’s what it takes. But such a goal is always some greater good and he considers protecting innocent people his most important and probably only duty and calling.
He can pretend he got rid of emotions around other jedi well but the truth is he is quite passionate, quick to anger or laugh, considers all emotions a natural part of life and same goes for desires. He’s just deeply at peace with being a living being with all the flaws that come with it and he is able to draw strength from that inner peace, whereas other jedi could fall if not seeking peace in rejecting passion. He has “rip to those mentally weaker jedi but I’m different” vibes 😭
All in all, he isn't a very good representant of the order. Really, with his passion and pride he’s very very far from a perfect embodiment of the code (and he sure is quick to disagree with some of the code's points).
Yet he would never fall to the dark side due to his natural empathy, desire to protect, incredible mental strength and stubborness. Like, he can't become a sith because he is literally that stubborn to not fall and hates those dramatic bitches 😂  His mental strength surely is partly a result of being quite dumb, like, literally. He doesn't overthink, philosophize, and is annoyingly sure of himself and his path. He doesn’t weep at sacrifaces made on the way to “greater good”, always looks forward. Do you know the theory that dumb people are always happier? "Ignorance is bliss"? Well, yeah, he's an example lol.
Even though he doesn’t reject his feelings, when he fights, there is no passion in that and he never draws power from emotions like a sith would do. During a battle there is literally only the force in his mind and he is at complete harmony with it, it’s almost like a weird state of meditation. Being a miraluka the force was his guide all his life and he is deeply attuned to it.
Couple completely random facts: drives speeders like a maniac, loves listening to music, is 179cm/5′9″, has a weakness for sith purebloods (or just intense and passionate people) 🍅, can’t cook and would live on ready-made meals if left alone, isn’t very good at math (an understatement)
As for fics I only wrote a very small piece with him and Scourge once 👉👈 Real spur of the moment thing from me, I can’t fucking write. have this older sketch to distract you from that fact
Tumblr media
"average jedi has sex once a year" factoid is actually just statistical error. average jedi has sex 0 times a year. Jedi Master Visvar, who has sex 400 times a year, is an outlier adn should not have been counted
