So I just learned that the voice actor for Donatello Versus in the English Stone Ocean dub was Isaac Robinson-Smith, aka Dark Choco’s VA
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And what makes it funnier is that in both series, the character’s dad (whom I imagine they have a complicated relationship with) is voiced by Patrick Seitz

if I was an al pacino character who would I be
this is incredibly difficult but im trying my best & ive come up with a few options
•serpico (autistic swag, very strong sense of justice, great style BUT hes a cop + yr a better partner than him. actually that applies to all of these guys. just assume thats a factor in all of these lmao)
•arthur kirkland (once again that extremely strong sense of justice & amazing hair, BUT hes a lawyer)
•sonny wortzik (when we watched dda you said in another life hed be a great revolutionary & i agree with that with regards to the fact that yr extremely passionate about what matters to you & anti-establishment & gay, but he doesnt have the same extremely strong moral code & sense of justice you have)
•jimmy hoffa (prominent union organizer for the teamsters & did a BUNCH of shit fr workers back in the day! genuinely interesting historical figure & if you dont already know about him id be surprised. however he also worked with the mob & allowed them to take money frm the teamsters & did a bunch of other shit. disappeared under mysterious circumstances his body was never found & i dont think they ever really found out what happened to him but the most prominent theory is frank sheeran killed him & a book was written about it which got made into the film the irishman in which al pacino plays jimmy hoffa)
•sorry i got distracted talking about jimmy hoffa Do you still think im hot.
•honestly these are the ONLY ones i can think of that are anything like you the rest of them suck way too much /hj you just have a very distinctive personality which is why i love you so much! but if pressed id probably say a solid combination of arthur kirkland & sonny wortzik
HONORABLE MENTIONS: satan ‘God’s an absentee landlord’ thedevilsadvocate, tony ‘you know what capitalism is? getting fucked’ montana, & michael ‘where does it say you cant kill a cop?’ corleone. for those specific lines.

had a dream i was looking at the imdb page for a nonexistant movie that looked cool. NOT FAIR
vandalism on the page made it hard to know what the title was but it was called "hypergogia" (playing on the word hypnagogia) and there was a subtitle along the lines of.. amazing / unusual dream.... idk. fitting bc it was a dream tho.

i know it's really pathetic to have a parasocial relationship with a dead actor bla bla bla but how can i not be actually upset, annoyed or angry about people constantly talking derogative about Vic, about his looks, weight or "campy" acting when he's the the bullied kid to me who was always larger than the others, the one who only found his tribe when he started to do Shakespeare at the Globe, the teenager that was described as "wise" when he was just in high school, who always seemed older than he was and was always so nice to everyone, who turned pain into comedy, who was so good with kids and played Santa Claus with so much care for years, who was so generous with his time and advice, who everyone who met him just had wonderful things to say about, who hated to be typed as bad guy because it made people associate him with that image, who had an immense work ethic, who loved to bake bread, swim, read, visit junkyards because they had funny names and wait for snow. he's this whole person to me i've made people tell me so many stories about. i never knew him, didn't even get the chance to meet him, but i do feel kind of close to him. like he's the friend of a friend. he's in my life, as if he knows the people i know, i keep hearing about him but i haven't actually met him. and when people talk about him like that they talk about a two dimensional image, i get it, it's normal to talk about random actors that way. but i do think that often it lacks a lot of respect and i wonder why. it's that weird dude who also talked in this mocking tone about him over and over but unlike him others don't randomly grow wise and apologize.

anyway it’s really scary when one of the professors at your school used to be an actor and was actually in like some movies and stuff and your watching x files (largely filmed in canada with extras and minor characters played by canadian actors) and there are so many tall bald men and you keep getting jump scared and well why is there always a guy that looks like that.

SEE ARI YOU UNDERSTAND ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 😳😳😳😳 it doesn't matter if he's voice acting or doing an on-screen performance, the dude is such a top quality two-for-one snack outta the vending machine and idk what it IS!!!!! and ooghoghh yes, YES you mention the voice!!!!! it's such a low, velvety rich purr, drawling at the edges!!!! and!!! he seems like such a nice guy irl, when you read stories about meeting him at conventions
and I love that his characters Captain Terrific (imagination movers) and Gordy Davenport (ned's declassified) both have a cute little curl in their hair. THE BEST <3

Jack Robbins in EastEnders masterpost
Tumblr media
Joplin Sibtain (credited as Chook Sibtain) plays Jack Robbins in 15 episodes. The dates below that have strike-throughs weren’t available when I did my watch, but for the curious/masochistic, all others bar those in Part 4 are on youtube. The episodes from 2001 are currently (February 2023) on UKTV player, free in the UK, labelled Series 17 episodes 144 and 156.
I basically liveblogged each episode with an increasingly deranged number of screenshots (and one hard-won gif in Part 4) though, so if you want to watch Joplin without having to watch EastEnders you don’t have to watch the rest of the episodes, you can just scroll through my posts.
For those who need the warning, just in case, do watch out for - oh, anything that you could imagine putting a trigger warning on, from EDs to euthanasia. It’s a soap, it covers all the bases. Feel free to message me if you want to check anything.
Part 1 covering: 17 Aug 2000, 21 Aug 2000, 22 Aug 2000, 24 Aug 2000, 4 Sep 2000, 5 Sep 2000, 21 Sep 2000
Part 2 covering: 26 Sep 2000, 2 Oct 2000, 5 Oct 2000
Part 3 covering: 9 Oct 2000, 10 Oct 2000, 16 Oct 2000,
Part 4 covering: 19 Feb 2001, 19 Mar 2001

very weird feeling while watching 'his dark materials' when i notice a very short and fast-paced moment focused on some rando background character and i'm like, "wait, i know that guy. he's in [show that has not yet been released]" bc my 2020-2021 was focused so heavily on the production/press releases/cast updates of that 10-years-in-the-making show, every single face on its imdb page is burned into my brain, maybe permanently
