“you and yunho are so cute together!” lisa squealed. “i hope you guys last super long, you guys are like—the schools golden couple right now. you guys are more liked than kai and jennie!”
“we—are?” you scoff and roll your eyes. “that’s hard to believe but…thank you. i hope we last long too.”
in reality, you didn’t wish to stay in a long relationship with yunho. it was only a fake relationship to make your ex jealous. you could tell they were noticing you two together, but never did or said anything as yunho would probably beat them up. it was weird being in a fake relationship with a boy who you didn’t even know, as well as barely even talked to, but he was your only option.
of course, that’s an over exaggeration. you had plenty of options to choose from, but yunho was the option.
any and every girl at your school wanted to be with yunho. and you couldn’t blame them; he was tall, fit, had a pretty face, and he knew his way around the ladies. he was super attractive, if you ignore all of his red flags.
despite having numerous rumors about him sleeping around, he was still a fine young man. you’d give anything to be with him, even if it meant your self respect.
you went up to him when he was finally alone and told him about your ex. he didn’t seem phased by you asking if he could be your fake boyfriend, so it was right to assume he’s done this and has been asked the very same question before. he immediately agreed, and by the next day, he was showering you with gifts and fancies as if you two had been together for years.
you accepted him treating you like a princess, and it knocked everyone off their feet. everyone wanted yunho, now. you had to “pretend” to be a possessive girlfriend so no one ruined your plans, and yunho laughed whenever you acted like that.
sometimes he’d go overboard by asking you to make out, or kissing you on the cheek in public in front of all of your friends, but at the end of the day, it wasn’t that serious. you two were only fake dating, nothing else.
except there was everything else. you fell for him. you didn’t know how, or why; seriously, why fall for a man who’s been said to have slept around with multiple girls? clearly red was your favorite color. he was beaming with red flags like a sun on a super hot day. you happily ignored them throughout your fake relationship, which you gaslight yourself into thinking it was real.
until, the day you had that major chem exam. you were nervous, and did the past few months, yunho would comfort you. you asked him to meet up in the garden thirty minutes before your text, hoping to ask him for some words of encouragement, and to tell him about your crush on him.
he came, a few minutes late, but he came. he couldn’t have been any hotter. you felt like pounding on him right now from how tight his tank top was. he was wearing, which meant he was just working out. god, he looked delicious.
“what is it?” yunho looks, breathing a bit heavily as his hands were in his pockets. you blink and step closer.
“i, uh, i have that chem test i was telling you about? y’know, last night? i just need a few words to help boost my mood since i’m really nervous and i don’t think i’ll past this test.”
“you’ll pass it, it’s okay. you’re like—mega robot smart, you’ll ace it with flying colors.” he smiles and you smile back.
“thanks, that’s all i needed to hear.” before he gets to walk away, you clear your throat. “but, there was another thing…”
“yeah…?”
“well you know how we’ve been ‘dating’ for the past four months?” you gulp and he nods. “well, um, did you… like those four months?”
“ehh, they were alright.” yunho hissed. “i mean, it could’ve been better. it got boring after the first month. it’s hard keeping up an act like that in front of everyone.
well, that didn’t help. “h-huh? you didn’t—you thought it was boring? i thought it was… nice.”
“i’m just saying, it would’ve been better if it was with a fake relationship with someone i liked. i don’t like you, y/n. you’re just my friend.” he said with a straight face, as if he wasn’t lying deep down.
you had to pause to think. it was…it felt unreal. after all those months, even if everything you two did was fake, he didn’t like it. he didn’t like you. if your heart was beating outside your chest, he would’ve seen it crack into a million pieces. you had to compose yourself, closing your eyes and breathing in heavily. whatever you said now would dictate how this conversation would continue. if you bursted out into tears, that wouldn’t make the situation better.
“i-i was just wondering because i…” you couldn’t even get it out. “i just… i really like you, or i started liking you. i don’t remember when it happened but, i just saw you one day and i realized i liked you.”
yunho’s eyes widen from the information but he doesn’t say anything. god, this was embarrassing. all he had to do was reject you and move on, then you’d be okay and you’d be able to find a real boyfriend to treat you right. just from looking at his face, you could tell he was trying to find a way to lay it down with it hurting you. whatever he was about to say was about to break your heart even more.
“we agreed we wouldn’t like each other.” yunho states, his eyes boring into yours. “you promised you wouldn’t fall for me and i promised the same. now you’re standing in front of me telling me you like me?”
“i-it happened out of nowhere! but the way you treated me throughout the entire thing made me feel… loved and cared for, and i’m not familiar with that type of—”
“did you really believe i cared for you?” he spoke. that broke you immediately. you blinked and tears came falling down your cheeks, your bottom lip quivering from his painful words. as if that wasn’t enough, he kept going.
“i wouldn’t fall for someone like you. you’re not my type and i’m outta your league. i only fake dated you because i knew it would get me attention.” which couldn’t have been anymore of a lie. he fell for you too during the relationship, but his stubborn personality wasn’t letting him accept it. it wasn’t letting him accept his own feelings.
you stood silent in front of him, your once confident look turning into a sad, betrayed look. you felt like your arms were about to give out, and more tears were threatening to fall down your cheeks.
“why didn’t you tell me before…?” you spoke softly and lower your head. yunho felt his heart sting. he’s definitely played with girls emotions before, so why was it different with you? he did like you, he just wasn’t saying it. he couldn’t get himself to say it. it only made him hurt more.
“i don’t know, i didn’t feel like it.” he only didn’t say anything before because he didn’t want your heart to be broken.
“but you felt like taking advantage of me?” you gulp. “it’s fine, i’ll leave. i’ll end everything right now. the fake relationship is done, so delete my number and whatever social media accounts i have.”
“dude, we can still be friends. it’s not that serious—“
“it is that serious! i just told you i had a crush on you and instead of laying it down gently, you admit to not even caring about me!”
“well i didn’t, but… look, i can’t explain it right now, okay? just come to me later or something.”
“no.” you wipe your tears. “it’s through, i’m over, we’re done. i need a minute to get myself together.”
Tumblr media
and that’s what you did. you cut all contact your had with yunho. he respected your wishes and gave you privacy, obviously, and you were feeling much better. you passed your chem test, thank god, and even finished a few other projects for school. you felt great.
but you couldn’t say the same for yunho. he was quieter than normal. his friends would try to talk to him, but he wouldn’t answer. he would be staring at you whenever he saw you, fiddling with his thumbs and sighing. he really messed up this time. he could’ve told you there and then that he liked you, so why didn’t he do it? there wasn’t excuse for what he did.
all he could do is sit back and watch as you became happier. your bright smile gleaming with pride and happiness only made him want you even more. he and his friends knew he messed up, and he didn’t know what to do.
it wouldn’t hurt to talk to you, at least? talk to you about what happened and how things could’ve gone better. yeah, yeah he could say those things! or at least one. four months of faking dating, but “breaking up” was hard. he liked to think they were in a real relationship, and knowing this is what heartbreak feels like, he didn’t like at all.
as you walked down the sidewalk, you were scrolling through your phone and looking at whatever was on your screen. a bunch of animal videos could keep you company. though, you didn’t really need your phone since yunho jogged behind you, tapping your shoulder when he reached you.
“y/n,” he panted. “you’ve been avoiding me this whole week. why? i told you the truth, i don’t know what you’re getting mad at me.” but it wasn’t the truth.
“you lied and lead me on, yunho. whether or not the relationship was fake, if you didn’t like something then you should’ve told me. but instead you lied to me. then when i told you i liked you, you acted like a bitch. why would i even try to talk to you after that?”
“y/n, please. i’ve sent stuff to your dorm room to get your attention and you always ignore it. i try passing notes to you in class, you don’t respond. i’m trying my best here.”
“stop trying to make it up to me, you can’t!” you raise your voice. “you’ve already done the damage, i don’t know why i even decided you would be a good option for a fake relationship when so many people have said you lied to them! i don’t know why i trusted you!”
“i…” he didn’t know what to say. “i’m… i’m sorry.”
“just don’t talk to me for a while. i think it’s better i find someone else to actually date rather then faking an entire relationship with a man whore.”
“b-but, i had something to tell you.” yunho finally gave in. if he told her now, this could solve every single problem he had. all he had to do was say “i like you” and everything would be over, right?
“what?”
“i, well, i lied. i lied about not liking you. it sounds stupid because it is stupid but i really do like you y/n. i—i liked you after the first month. b-but i didn’t know how to tell you because i thought it was stupid and i thought you’d get mad at me, but it turns out you did like me…”
you couldn’t believe what you were hearing. what person lies about liking somebody only to tell them a week later that they were lying? it was weird.
“yunho, don’t fucking lie to me again. i said we should go out separate ways, so let’s do that—”
“there are other ways to deal with this. please, don’t leave!” he was desperate. you couldn’t just leave him like this anyway, you were too nice of a person to do that. you pinched the bridge of your nose and shook your head in disbelief. when you were just starting to feel better, yunho came crashing in.
“i can’t say i don’t still like you, but you need to earn my trust back. and i don’t just mean telling me the truth 24/7, but actually showing that you care and that you want to be in a… real relationship with me.”
“i will! i’ll show you everything i need to show you! you’re the first person i really ever liked, i don’t want to lose you.” he pouted. now he looked more adorable than hot.
“it’s okay, yunho.” you pet his cheek gently. “you won’t lose me.”

"Not sure if the banner was already obvious enough, but I would like to ask you to be my date." for Willie/anyone, because chaos
Willie could credit himself at being pretty good when it came to reading people. Case in point, when the end of the school year grew closer and closer, and Alex started getting grumpy and fidgety, Willie knew something was up.
More than this is exam jitters-because Alex's school related anxieties just had him pop an extra Ativan by now. Not a worry about the future, as the band was signed for a three album deal, and were set to do a mini California tour come the summer before they did their first album.
No, his mood took a definite change when the posters for the prom started popping up.
Willie had no real wish to go to prom. Sure, he liked dances just as much as the next gay guy, and with Alex as his boyfriend, they could cut a rug with the best of them. But it was such a stupid, heteronormative tradition, and Willie was definitely counter culture. Sure, the school was 100% okay with queer couples going-heck they were even letting Julie bring both her boyfriends as her dates, which made Reggie beam with giddy joy, and even though Luke rolled his eyes, Willie knew he was super excited as well.
But he wasn't sure how Alex felt. So he poked at Reggie for some insight.
"Dude, what do you mean?" Reggie asked. "Alex has been dreaming about dancing at his prom with his boyfriend since he first saw Pretty In Pink. And The Prom. And the third High School Musical movie, even though he bitched about them making the choreographer character straight."
"That was super stupid," Willie admitted. "So you think he want me to ask him?" Reggie shot him a look at that. "Okay, stupid question. You don't think he wants some big promposal right?"
"Have you met Alex?" Reggie asked. "No, he'd die. But maybe... make an effort and do something special, just for you."
That Willie could do. Sure, prom was stupid, dumb, and lame. But Willie could do a night of stupid, dumb, and lame for Alex. Especially to fulfill a dream he thought he'd never get. His parents had crushed so many of Alex's hopes, so the last Willie could do was give him a magical night he had been told over and over again he never would.
But how to ask?
Well, amongst Willie's numerous talents, he was pretty decent at art. So grabbing a ton of paper, his beloved spray cans, and an unoccupied Molina family garage (thanks to Julie clearing it out once she heard his plan) he got to work.
It was a couple hours later that Alex showed up. "Okay, I'm here, Reggie said I had to come out here because you needed me. Even though we both agreed to no make outs in the studio after last time."
Willie snickered as he greeted Alex at the door. "I know hot dog. Just-look."
Alex looked up and saw a bright pink banner there, covered in glitter and in Willie's messy cursive and blocks of rainbow colour, was one word; Prom?
Alex turned to Willie who gave him a mega-watt smile. "Not sure if the banner was already obvious enough, but I would like to ask you to be my date."
"But you hate stuff like prom!" Alex said.
Willie shrugged. "But you love it, and Reggie told me you've been dreaming of prom since you saw Pretty in Pink."
"Fucking Reginald," Alex grumbled.
Willie guided Alex's face to his. "Hey, no. He was being a good bro, and wanted to make sure your dream came true. So what do you say? You wanna go to prom with me?"
"No."
"No?" Willie asked, confused and a little heartbroken.
"No," Alex repeated, shaking his head. "You'd be miserable the whole time, and then I wouldn't have fun. So I'd rather stay in, watch movies. We can put on some music and dance around the living room at your house, have our own prom."
"But your dreams..."
"You're more important," Alex replied with a shrug.
"That's why I asked you!" Willie said, laughing. "Because you getting this one thing you never thought you'd get was more important to me than me hating this shit!"
They both started laughing at that, collapsing onto the couch, holding one another. Finally, wiping their eyes, Willie looked at Alex. "I kind of want to go now, just to prove you wrong, that I'd have fun."
"Really?" Alex asked.
"Just for like, a few dances, sure," Willie relented. "Unless you'd rather stay in."
"Uh uh, you said we're going, no backsies," Alex replied, kissing his nose.
"Figures," Willie said, but he was smiling. Sure, prom was never going to rank high on his list of activities he was looking forward to-but Alex's smile made it all worth it.
Plus, Willie admitted on prom night, as they swayed across the floor, Alex looked damn good in his pink tux.

Book Blurb: When a relationship therapist gets dumped right before her new dating handbook hits shelves, she fake dates to save face in this spicy romantic comedy.
There are a lot of things that can go wrong on an author's publication day, but breaking up with her long-term boyfriend might just be at the top of Jessica Gallagher’s list. She also didn’t expect to run into her old crush, Galvin Baker, the very next day. When Jessica goes into crisis mode about the PR nightmare, she proposes the first solution that comes to mind: fake dating. Luckily, Galvin seems game.
Galvin Baker is used to being a constant disappointment, which is why he can’t—and won’t—commit to a relationship. Unfortunately for him, his last girlfriend used her vast social media power to make sure everyone knows how much Galvin "underperforms.” Fake dating for Jessica’s book promotion seems like the perfect cover—and maybe she can teach him something along the way.
Hookups “for science” and some seriously sweet gestures later, Jessica and Galvin’s fake dates are feeling more authentic than any of their previous relationships did. Have they replaced unrealistic expectations with unexpected realness?
Review:
When a relationship therapist gets dumped right before her new dating handbook is released, she decides to fake date the one guy that has a reputation that needs fixing itself. Jessica Gallagher is a relationship therapist who has just written a book, yet the day before it releases she comes home to see her boyfriend of over 10 years moving out and then breaking up with her out of nowhere. Jessica goes to a bar with her friends to celebrate and ends up running into Galvin Baker, a guy she knew in college because he hooked up with two of her roommates and was in the same fraternity as her ex. Galvin's life is a bit of a wreck right now, he's spent most of his life just sleeping with women and never committing, only doing one night stands and nothing serious, yet when his latest relationship ends with a mega influencer, it doesn't end well. Galvin's ex makes a video to her millions of followers about how bad in bed Galvin is and now no woman will even go near him. Jessica and Galvin run into each other and end up chatting, they do have chemistry and decide to fake date in order to help Jessica maintain her image for her new book release and in return she'll help him work out his relationship issues. Jessica and Galvin spend time together but Galvin begins to realize that maybe he's finally met the one, that Jessica is really it for him, now all he has to do is convince her that this fake relationship is very real and that he's changed and is all in for her. Jessica thinks that this is just lust and that they can be friends with benefits until her book tour ends and that what Galvin really wants is just physical. Yet the more time they spend together and the more he tries to show her he wants to commit, the more she finds herself falling for the one guy she never expected to fall for. This one was not for me, for a couple that was in their 30s, they really read as if they were still in college. Jessica was so immature and for someone who is a relationship therapist, really didn't feel like one. Galvin kind of just gave me the ick if I'm being honest. Yeah he had issues that lead to him just wanting to have one night stands but seriously, I just did not vibe with. him at all. I didn't get the romance or chemistry between these two and couldn't care less if they actually got together. If you enjoy opposites attract then maybe this one is for you, unfortunately it was not for me.
*Thanks Netgalley and Berkley Publishing Group, Berkley for sending me an arc in exchange for an honest review*

not the orginal anon but i loved your wg rodi/mus story! can you perhaps write a follow up when he goes to meet this mystery admirer? (if possible i would love for the angst about his wg continue :)) hope u doing well! and thanks in advance
Part One
Rodi/mus pranced his way through the corridors of the Lost Li/ght, rounding turn after turn until he stood in front of his habsuit door. His spark fluttered with excitement, for he was finally going to meet his secret admirer. Prim/us, he waited long enough, and everyone knew he hated surprises.
No.
He liked surprises, just hated waiting for them. The dear captain was a bit impatient after all.
He enjoyed immediate results (well, if he didn’t need to provide these required results, that is). The red and yellow mech was one of action!
Wasting no time, he beelined it to his wash rack, turned the solvent, and stepped under the stream. Nice hot fluids cascaded over his frame. Rodi/mus found this one of the most relaxing times of the day: standing mindlessly under the shower. Why? He liked to imagine all the dirt getting rinsed off his beautiful frame. Also, he felt like it rinsed all his worries away. Down the drain you go!
Upon rubbing the washcloth over his body this time, his woes didn’t slough off him like in prior experiences. Instead, they clung like bugs splattered across one’s windshield when speeding down a road. This was caused by several reasons.
The major one is his weight gain. While he loved the scrumptious snacks gifted to him (clearly, by his expanding midsection), he missed his sleek frame. Looking down, his paunch expanded out a bit, hanging over his hips. Running his servo across his waist revealed a soft and squishy feeling that resembled a water balloon, not the firm tautness it once sported.
However, that special note claimed to not care about his now squishier belly, right?
The next worry was, who was the mystery mech? Sure, he had a major guess, but what if he was wrong? What if this mech was someone who would not be a desirable date? Rodi/mus could think of a couple that would fit that bill. While Swe/rve was a fun guy, he wouldn’t really be dating material: his mouth formed weird trapezoid shapes when he spoke at times. Weird.
Another lousy date would be Whi/rl. I mean… come on, the captain didn’t like to be mean, but that mech didn’t even have a real face. And he was just too obnoxious! Like, all the time, too.
The third wrong choice of a date sprung to the Auto/bot’s mind and made him drop the soap he was dousing the cloth in; Prim/us, what if it was Mega/tron? Fighting back his gag reflex, Rod/imus whimpered. Slag, how bad would that be? Imagine the reason the former Dece/pticon was on this ship was a lie, and it was all just some crazy, hyper-fanboy excuse to try to berth him?
“Bleeegh!”  the flame-colored mech shook his helm, hoping to shake that thought from his processor. If Mega/tron, the stupid self-proclaimed co-captain of this ship, awaited him, he would break down and cry!
The spray of solvent cut off, and his meticulous drying routine followed. Once the captain was satisfied with the shininess of his frame- and he checked every angle- he set off to the observational deck.
This was where he would come face to face with the gift giver. However, the closer Rodi/mus traveled to the destination point, the slower he walked. Gone was the excitement of meeting who was crushing on him; the feeling of dread awoke in its place. He no longer skipped, but rather dragged his pedes.
It wasn’t too late to turn back… He could pretend he didn’t receive the note. Ignorance can be bliss…. Right?
He stood face to wall with the door to the meeting place, yet didn’t know if he dared to go in. How badly did he need to know who this mech was? Was this really such a big deal?
Let’s take a second to think about this…
The second is up. Everyone knows Rodi/mus doesn’t like surprises, and he cannot just walk away from this situation. So, we know he palms the door open and walked inside. With a reign of superior confidence too. As the saying goes: fake it until you make it.
And what is he greeted by?
Huge windows that showcase the vastness of space. Flecks of light litter the sky, and there even appears to be a distant solar system in the background. Just before the windows is a table draped with a white tablecloth. On this table sat two sets of dinnerware. Upon closer inspection, the plates were fine china, not the cheap crap used in the canteen.
Decorative silverware is set to the sides. To the left of the plate were two forks, one bigger than the other. The other side of the dish also had two knives of different sizes. Can you guess what was next to them? Two spoons. One is much rounder than the other.
“What the frag?” Rod/imus muttered. How many utensils did one need? He could make do with one fork and knife-slag- even just one spoon can be used to shovel food inside his mouth!
But when it came to table settings, it’s not over. A cloth napkin folded in some intricate shape rests upon the dinner place. It held a name card with his name on it too. Cursive font, to be exact.
“You gotta be kidding me!” Above that plate was yet another fork and spoon! This was getting out of hand, borderline silly! And to make matters worse, to the left of that was a little plate with a weird-looking knife resting perfectly straight across it. And we cannot forget the three glasses of various shapes and sizes, plus the cup and saucer to the right.
Did this person have some kind of weird dinnerware fetish?
Rodi/mus was about to call it quits, but a whiff of something delightful caught his attention. His belly grumbled loudly. Great- his stomach noticed the enticing aroma as well. Just behind the table were several covered dishes. Now, our dear captain may not be the brightest crayon in the box, but he was smart enough to deduce there was food within those dishes.
‘BWwwwwoooooooruuuummmmmmbbbllllllleeeeee!’
Prim/us, how long has it been since he last ate? According to his demanding stomach, too long!
But that’s not the point here: Just where was his secret admirer? No mech was present. And this caused a lump to form in his throat: maybe he was stood up.
Or worse.
What if this was just some sort of cruel joke? What if, instead of adoration, those treats and notes were sent in jealousy? Someone sent him all those treats with the intention of making him gain weight and make him ugly? And when discovering his unhappiness, another card, full of lies, was sent his way as a final insult…to get his hopes and spirits up just to smash them down?
Slaggit, it sounds more like a dirty ‘Con trick, after all.
His cheeks grew warm with shame at just thinking he had been played. Seriously, who would find this new body of his attractive? Suddenly, the desire to return to his habsuit grew. Even if it meant leaving the delightful food behind, Rodi/mus didn’t like to be the butt of a joke. He spun around to head for the door when a relatively large body loomed in front of his path.
......
part 2 will be up in a day or so. I broke it up because I don't want these to be particularly long reads

inspired by @fireandspiceland 's post about dark scoteng +f ruk bc i love dark aus except it's spamano w/ nyo romano
warnings: unhealthy relationship, abo/omegaverse, sexual assult, just a generally fucked up world
So like, Chiara is the granddaughter of Julius who is this super rich guy probably running some kind of exploitative mega corporation idk and she never presented so it’s kind of assumed that she’s a beta so she’s like 20ish, going to fashion school to be a designer bc it’s something she loves when she goes into heat for the first time completely fucking everything up. She’s brought back home and essentially made to drop out of school for this arranged marriage that had been planned to happen anyway once she got her degree but now that she an omega, it’s super important to Julius to marry her off to Antonio, the alpha son of a business associate bc now she doesn’t really have the rights (legally) to refuse as he’s her alpha guardian and can essentially control her
Chiara is fucking pissed and not making this easy on anyone but doesn’t have a choice but to go through with the wedding but like refuses to talk with/touch/sleep with Antonio and like he doesn’t understand. Like he gets that she's upset but he’s had the biggest puppy crush on her for forever and very much has that alpha mentality of she’s my mate, I take care of her and in turn she takes care of me, it’s okay if she’s still learning how to be an omega. He essentially chalks it up to hormones making her so “moody” but nah she’s not having a good time.
Antonio starts off trying to give her her space, let her settle in and kind of discover herself but this is when it takes a turn. She's had a couple heats living with him at this point but has barricaded the door, and refused to let him in but this time, he's grown impatient and doesn't understand why she's being so resistant, this is what omegas want, it's what they're built for. And he has the 'brilliant' idea that well, she's never had a heat with an alpha before and has gone her whole life without heats, she probably just needs someone there to show her that she's overreacting and there's nothing to be afraid of. So he gets into her room while she's in heat and I imagine you understand where it goes from there.
Unfortunately for Antonio, this completely backfires on him and she withdraws completely. She keeps herself locked up in her room when he's in the house, only doing basic care when he's not there. She stops communicating with her family (she wasn't really talking to her grandfather anyway, feeling utterly betrayed but she still has Feliciano), stop talking or even screaming and being angry she's just totally despondant. So, without understanding what else to do bc Antonio doesn't understand that the problem is him and the marriage she was forced into, he ships her off to some mental institution where omegas like her as 'trained/reprogrammed' to be better spouses and better understand their role in society
This is where we enter Gilbert. Gilbert is another omega who has been here for a long while. Idk who he's married to yet but it's someone. He's loud and arrogant and overconfident, very much displaying himself as an alpha which is a big no-no. So they're roommates here and it takes some getting used to and warming up between them but eventually, they become somewhat friends and later slowly fall in love and begin planning an escape from here and a way to get out of the country they're in (which is probably the u.s let's be honest).
And this is as far as I've gotten so far

The Antidote for Toxic Masculinity In The Church
Tumblr media
I was reading an article recently about the Stronger Men Conference in Springfield, MO, and how some controversy arose regarding a shirtless, sword-swallowing male acrobat who was part of the Christian conference's entertainment.
During one entertainment portion, a tank driven by Chuck Norris also crushed a couple of cars, but that's beside the point.
Apparently, to some of the dudes gathered at this conference designed to teach men about the subtle art of patriarchy and how to protect it, the acrobat touched a nerve, and their overt homophobia kicked in.
This led to some pretty awful diatribes about LGBTQ+ people and a doubling down on why it's essential to keep "those people" out of church and relegated to the margins of society.
The level of hatred, bigotry, and downright meanness that was put on display was pretty impressive, even for a bunch of fired-up, angry white Christian nationalist dudes.
[To paraphrase Shakespeare here, "Methinks they doth protest too much." Just saying.]
I've been to conferences like this in the past (minus the sword-swallowing acrobat, though), and let me tell you, the vitriol that gets spilled in those spaces about anyone who is considered an "other" is very real.
Jesus once told his followers to "love your enemies" and "pray for those who persecute you." He couched this in an exhortation that went something like this:
"It's easy to love your loved ones; nothing extraordinary about that. But if you extend your love to those you have considered an "enemy," now that's something special."
A better way to interpret the word "enemy" here is "someone who opposes you, your beliefs, identity, etc.
But it feels like Jesus' teachings are falling on deaf ears in the Church, and not just in the right wing. There's plenty of animosity from all sides.
The question that many of us might have is, "How did we get here? How did we get to a place where there are so many Christians who think it's perfectly all right to hate, discriminate, fear-monger, and condemn anyone who is different or who disagrees with them?"
And what do we do about it?
In a recently written article titled "The Evangelical Church is Breaking Apart," Peter Wehner explores the resurgence of this behavior among Christians today.
He writes that when politicians could (without many Christians blinking an eyelash) add open hatred and resentment to the political-religious stance of ‘true believers,’ it crossed a line. "Tribal instincts seem to have become overwhelming.”
Wehner then goes on to say that the dominance of political religion over professed religion is seen in how, for many, loyalty to political figures became a blind allegiance.
The result is that many Christians “have come to see a gospel of hatreds, resentments, vilifications, put-downs, and insults as expressions of their Christianity, for which they too should be willing to fight.”
This brings me back to the Stronger Men Conference.
From attending conferences like this in the past, I know that well-meaning, devoted, faithful followers of Jesus attend those conferences. And I know from experience that most of them filter out the good from the bad.
What they crave is community, connection, and affirmation.
They have been told their whole lives that they need to act a certain way, never show emotion, and be strong and courageous, yet many live lives of quiet desperation, feeling not good enough, not strong enough.
The Church needs to offer them more than toxic masculinity, bigotry, and hatred. The Church needs to give them a real glimpse into Jesus's life.
No politician and few mega-church pastors will offer them Jesus, however, without first making Jesus in their own image.
We must listen more carefully to Jesus's words about love, inclusion, sacrifice, and salvation. We all need to hear the intrinsic value of loving everybody, which is inextricably bound to a life of following Christ.
We all need to do everything we can to ensure that the Church of Jesus Christ does not entirely lose its way.
May it be so, and may the grace and peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with us all, now and forever. Amen.

There's a few more notes this war against the ships and what's below has turned up a few notches and foreigners are included if they're marching in the same tunnel they will March right over the warlock and then a few times and the more like a crushed including their hardware they go right up and over them and have destroyed huge armies doing it and it's been the past few days they said you're out of here if you're not you're going to be mulch and that's what they are and they're going away they're going down there now and they're trying to fill up all the tunnels to eat ship and they're trying to assault below the same way additional tunnels and the foreigners are going down a few of the bridges and running right over them and it's huge there's tons more luck running down there now because I see the Forgieners is moving after it and they never go after anything. It's a very good percentage of their population it's over half a percent and going upwards right now they're moving very fast to get there huge huge armies and massive numbers of them are making more equipment faster than you can play they've got stuff it's really fast. We still have a huge demand for vehicles. Were proceeding with our plan. The idiots won't meet on our weekend. But they will sign preliminary agreements they say and we said we have a whole bunch of them and they're the ones who could talk them they say and they do have a bunch and we have a list
*Harley-Davidson they actually came in yeah John Raymond Lord makes certain parts and he is not been doing well and he's under siege really and he makes some motors believe it or not and they're all kind of going nuts so she wants to sell off the plants while they're still worth something. 5 engine plants in the United States there is a smaller one too, and the whole thing in other words they have supplier facilities they're selling and it's huge this is a very big sale and for a huge company and we're going to start producing the motors the day that we receive the factories and that should be on Monday coming up pretty quick we are also going to be a receipt of another company
-it's a favorite of trump really trying to read my Lord format John leave the Lord format and it is a big humongous car company named Dodge they have about 20 mega plates in the United States they're huge those plants are basically complexes that build all the cars parts and accessories in that one location and they mold the panels and they make the steel frame and everything ingot it's from that that they do melt it down and they do form and the components at this place and it's a huge huge deal and we are going to purchase it from the idiot and he will not have any access to the place it's a pre-purchase agreement
-we signed over no we purchased Chrysler on Friday and no but we are going to sign a pre-purchase agreement coming up this week sometime and it's going to happen after Dodge and then it's a smaller company not much smaller no it's about half the size it used to be bigger and it probably will be no reputation is not so good people don't like this guy trying to read the Lord and there are other companies that are stelllenis is going to sell they plan to sell off Lincoln and they might sign a prepurchase agreement this weekend and we will keep people informed there's a couple of the companies but they're holding on to Jeep and they're holding on to AMC there are a couple of big companies that we are purchasing and we are signing pre purchase agreements this weekend
-Ford motor company motors division believe it or not they're selling this off in the really want to use motors for other stuff and they're selling it they're nuts these people are cuckoo but that's what they're doing the motors division is global it's one of the largest motor companies on Earth in existence it makes more motors than any other place on Earth including spaceships which is not a big deal because they don't make trillions but they make big motors and really big motors for a huge equipment and it's Diesel and they make it for a few companies like Caterpillar and we're taking over that division too hey we're going to be making huge motors coming up very soon gigantic tractors and trucks up to a mile and that's very large also filing charges against this idiot and he's not the only one in this group selling and we want him out of here today Is the big fight in LA and it'll be the beginning of the end because he gets beat up by everybody for what he's trying and he will go to New York and try it sets off a device and NY decides to kill a piece of s***.
-in addition to the above we are purchasing another huge company it's a division of Chrysler and it will make the Chrysler purchase go because they won't keep up with the production that they have with us making this particular item. And it's the motors. We're going to make tons of motors. Right now they have so many orders but Chrysler motor company makes about half as many motives as Ford and Ford makes just a ton of them and they still make about half because they make them for Dodge Lincoln they make them for Jeep and AMC is not true but they do make them for dogs and Lincoln and they make them for a couple smaller companies and generator companies. And there's a lot of stuff going on but these are big big companies these are massive massive mainstay companies they do make ship motors and they make a lot of them they make probably between the two half the ship motors on Earth and we will be making them for our ships mostly we don't want to make some for your idiot shifts that flotilla is just sitting there and attracted the crabs back and they're talking about getting rid of the crabs all over the world they don't like them they're going to go after diamonds and they're in the damn way.
-along with those two huge companies three really Harley Davidson motors makes a lot of motors the small motors but they make a lot of them we're going to finish off the batch of Harley-Davidson motor and make the most difference is not true we have to make them the same way and we're going to keep doing it eventually we'll acquire the company the way it's structured it's difficult to but they want to hand over a sections of it and we say that's fine
It's a huge deal and Bob Marsh is rolling his eyes but that's because of our sons weird rude Cummins it's about we being Chinese or something. Truthfully these are pretty big companies
But there's another company that's pretty big and we're taking possession the others here are these three are partial this one is in whole
-Sears - we are taking this company over fully no we're buying 30% of the shares and they'll be a remaining 40% but we'll have control and share and we are sick and tired of the people we're going to do things they're going to be saying no and they'll be quitting and they'll be getting fired and they'll be getting arrested in the office and they're a bunch of monkeys I mean this is a jackass show I've never seen one these people are fools not living real lives so we're going to take it over and we're going to open shops and stores and Sears automotive I'm going to expand their services to clean a lot of things that people need and watch large amount of repairs we're going to make big huge repair shops and near the malls and Sears outlets we're going to start them up right away and put them all over the place our son and daughter say they going to just about any building old home Depot Lowe's Walmart grocery stores anything like that whenever we take it over which is today start opening them up and they don't renovate much and we have seen it you like the drop ceiling but they don't renovate much and she says Walmart how's he would have like a front section and Warehouse all of the outlet equipment and put it in tears so we are thinking of doing that it'll be a small renovation but they're right they do Warehouse like that it's not necessary but it is the way they do it and I would like to stick to it and we have to have a bunch of construction projects and with Walmart you have to change it into a warehouse it's not a big deal hey you just have to put footies in for those racks when you put a big real big ones and it's going on now it's going to be huge these outlets are going to be gigantic
We have a few more companies to take over
*we are acquiring them and when's maytags were purchasing 40% of it the pre-purchase this weekend but the above are going to be signed contracts. The pre-purchase agreement will give us 70% of the company I'm going to begin production massive numbers of appliances and make them very fast and all over the world we are going to be hiring huge numbers of people this will bring it up to probably 300% of what it was at the end of covid and another 50% and it's back to 5 years before covid and production was fair and that was about 2015 and that's when people start to get rid of themselves they were getting with their own people and they still are and we are going to attack them as well but this company is Big Maytag makes roper and several other brands that sell globally for a good decent prices he can afford one back then and it was not too much of a strain and he needed it and there's a lot of them out there who need it and we need to prove this and produce these and we are going to sell certain brands at Sears. There's a lot of appliances in storage that are coming out I'm going to stock outlet stores and regular stores with them in moments and they'll sell out and we'll keep on shipping and we're going to start soon
We're going to publish this getting big

💖For the V-day asks 10, 27, 30 💖
10 - favorite milkshake flavor?
back when I worked at DQ and could just do whatever the fuck i wanted, my ideal shake was hot fudge, peanut butter, Graham base, and just a little coffee. It was so good, i miss itttttt
27 - denim jackets, leather jackets, or bomber jackets?
why not yes? they're all a staple in punk and grunge fashion so they're all inherently Very Good
30 - Do you prefer to charm or be charmed?
okay so fun fact, i am absolutely terrified of making unwanted moves on someone, especially since I'm gay, trans, and poly so it just makes me super dupee nervous. The one partner I currently have had to be very direct in trying to hit on me for me to even take the hint so honestly I'm just a lost cause, but I'm trying to get more confident and start to charm and persue people I'm interested in. So for now, I prefer to be charmed but hopefully that will change a little. Although i literally melt when anyone is nice to me for like .2 seconds

Pit Stop
Haha what’s this? A new fic? Hot damn.
I loved Security Breach and it finally gave me the urge to write a little something, so enjoy! Also spoilers! (Obviously)
Summary: As Glamrock Freddy and Gregory make their way through the Pizzaplex, a minor problem forces them to take a quick break.
Also available to read on A03 here!
Despite how massive the Mega Pizzaplex was, it certainly had a habit of making you feel crushed within its walls as the bright neon lights and endless promises of fun, excitement and quirky characters towered over and taunted you at every turn.
But that could just be the sleep deprivation talking.
Rubbing at his eyes and giving his cheeks a couple of hard slaps, Gregory tried his best to keep alert enough to spot any danger that could pop up at any second, even if he was inside Freddy’s stomach-hatch. He wasn’t sure if the animatronics were really that dumb that they hadn’t figured out his little hideaway yet, but he didn’t want to take any chances.
Freddy’s slow, methodical footsteps weren’t helping, as wasn’t his deep, rumbling voice that seemed to hold nothing but sickly sweetness and tender loving care, trying to lull him into a false sense of security. But Gregory was smart enough not to trust him—not completely. Besides, if it really came down to it, he could take care of himself.
But this place…it wasn’t like your typical back alley where the danger was avoidable if you had enough sense and knew how to blend into the background; here he was being actively sought out. Hunted. He’d nearly been caught a few times too, and not just by the animatronics. There was also that crazy maniac in a rabbit fursuit brandishing a knife bigger than his arm. The mere thought of her tied his stomach into knots.
“What was that sound?” Freddy suddenly asked.
“What…sound?” Gregory nearly swore, reeling that he had practically jumped out of his skin at the bear’s voice. Why was he so damn loud?
“It seemed to be coming from you, I could even feel my endoskeleton vibrating.”
Well, that wasn’t completely freaky at all.
“Ah! There it is again!”
It was only then that Gregory realised that the knots in his stomach were all too familiar. He grimaced and clutched at his shirt as the gnawing and twisting started becoming unbearable.
“It’s nothing,” Gregory said, his cheeks heating up in…anger? Embarrassment? He wasn’t quite sure which.
“I recognise that sound,” Freddy went on. “You are hungry, aren’t you?”
Nice to see that the robot’s Greg-O-Meter was as finely tuned as ever.
“No,” Gregory deflected, before adding, “Where are we going again?”
“To the west arcade, I am sure there is a security pass there that will give you a higher level of clearance.”
Ugh, security pass this, party pass that; this place was like a prison. Though considering he was trapped in here, he supposed it pretty much was. The boy sighed in relief, grateful that the subject had been changed at least.
“But now might be the time for a quick uh…’pit stop,’ as they say.”
“Pit stop?!” Gregory nearly face-planted onto the ground as Freddy bent over and opened his stomach-hatch, though he was caught easily enough.
“Freddy, we don’t have time for a break, we have to keep moving!” He hissed as he tried to get the bear to open back up, but to no avail.
“But you need nourishment.”
“I need to keep moving!” Gregory repeated. “Y’know, with the bloodthirsty animatronics and crazy rabbit lady right on my tail?!”
“They’re not… bloodthirsty,” Freddy weakly argued, his ears folding back briefly. “Besides, we are quite safe in here, the others have probably gone back to their rooms to recharge momentarily.”
Gregory took a moment to glance around: they were crouched behind a counter in what looked like some sort of fast-food stand. Standing up on his toes to take a quick peek, he could see the main stage in the far distance, cloaked in shadow and illuminated only by a few stray lights that sliced through the dark as the security bots did their rounds.
They were in the main atrium.
“As for this rabbit…,” Gregory felt a sudden weight on his bony shoulder and looked up at Freddy.
“I will not let her hurt you, I promise.”
The boy almost frowned at that; he had given up a long time ago on people keeping their promises to him. Trust yourself and no-one else, it was the only thing that had kept him alive until now. Never mind the fact that Freddy couldn’t even see her for whatever reason.
“But—”
“Please, Gregory. We can’t have you fainting.”
Pressing his lips together, he thought hard to find a counter to Freddy’s logic, but he ended up with a major migraine instead.
“It would make you a much easier target.”
“Okay, fine,” Gregory threw up his hands and dumped himself onto the cold, tiled floor, sitting with both his arms and legs crossed, stewing in his own resentment at the fact that he was letting a stupid machine tell him what to do.
“Thank you,” Freddy politely said, his hand gently tussling through Gregory’s greasy, unkempt knots—it was honestly a miracle his claws didn’t get caught—before moving further into the kitchen area. Gregory watched with wide hazel eyes as he tried to ignore the hard thumps threatening to burst from his chest.
“W-where are you going?” He couldn’t help but ask.
“The kitchen behind the stand,” Freddy answered, raising a mechanical eyebrow. “That is where they keep the food after all.”
Gregory huffed. Great, now the robot was learning sarcasm.
“Do not worry, I will not be long.”
“I’m not scared.”
“Of course not, you have been nothing but incredibly brave so far,” Freddy nodded in agreement, like a parent praising their child after getting a shot. “Now, I won’t be two ticks.”
As the bear disappeared behind the door, Gregory’s senses seemed to heighten all at once. He could hear every crack and moan of the walls as the building settled. The soft whirring of wheels on carpeted floors as the security robots searched for him and the clicking of paws on tiles as a couple of white rabbits nibbled their way through a box of Faz-Crackers that had been left in a corner of the food stand.
Wait, rabbits?
They seemed to regard him for a moment, their crimson eyes staring right through him as the corners of their mouths twitched unnaturally upwards.
“Are you having fun yet?”
Gregory rubbed at his eyes, and the rats took their stash and scurried away.
Rats. They were rats.
“Oh my God…,” he muttered under his breath.
Just as Gregory started questioning his own sanity, Freddy burst through the doors—nearly stopping the poor boy’s heart yet again—and proudly set down a large pizza box.
“My finest work yet!” Freddy declared as he sat down in front of Gregory, frowning when he received no answer. “What’s wrong?”
“…Nothing,” Gregory slowly answered as he forced himself to tear his eyes away from the box of crackers. “You guys uh…have a rat problem or something?”
“Ah, yes, I think management were supposed to bring in pest control to get rid of them, but I suppose they never got around to doing it yet,” Freddy shrugged. “Though I do not understand why they are called pests, they are actually quite friendly, so long as you have food.”
Gregory smiled a little, trust Freddy to make friends with something as universally hated as rats. Must have been a talent of his.
“But never mind that,” the bear eagerly pushed the pizza box towards Gregory, to which he regarded with both curiosity and mild concern.
“You guys know how to make pizza?”
“Of course we do!” Freddy said, his chest puffing out in pride. “It is an important feature of all robots at the Pizzaplex, though we are not all quite as good as Chica. Monty being the worst.”
“Uh…how so?”
“He throws on just about every topping, and customers kept complaining, which in turn would throw him into a fit of rage…”
“Is anyone in this place sane?” Gregory muttered.
“I would like to think that I am.”
“Well, you’ve not tried to murder me yet, so I’ll give ya that.”
Freddy became a little despondent again, and Gregory felt a pang of guilt.
“H-hey, so uh…thanks for the food, I…I do appreciate it,” he said, trying to lighten the mood. It seemed to work as Freddy perked up a little, and eagerly watched as Gregory tentatively lifted the lid.
Despite the piping hot steam nearly melting the skin off his face, he couldn’t help but smile dreamily as the smell of freshly baked dough wafted through the air, along with hints of tangy sauce, melted cheese and sizzling pepperoni.
He’d never had an entire pizza to himself before. Scrounging from the other families that ate close enough to his hiding spot, he was lucky if he even got a good amount of cold crust, stuffed on occasion if the pizza gods were on his side that day.
“Holy shit, that smells good.”
“Language, please.”
Ignoring him, Gregory pulled out a huge slice and devoured it, not caring that the sauce burned his tongue or the grease covering his hands. He tried to take it slowly, he really did, but a feral instinct to cram as much into his mouth sent him into something of a frenzy.
“Gregory, you should slow down,” Freddy tried to encourage. There was a look on the robot’s face that he couldn’t quite make out. Was he concerned? Disgusted? Could animatronics even get grossed out? Considering Chica ate literal trash, this was probably tamer in comparison.
“It’s fine. Food’s great,” Gregory said in-between mouthfuls.
“But you might—”
“You should take it as a compliment.”
“You could get ill,” Freddy said, suddenly looking bashful as he tapped his claws together. “Considering you probably have not eaten in a while.”
Gregory said nothing but tried to eat a little slower. Freddy shifted slightly as the two sat in silence.
“What age are you, Gregory?”
He blinked, the question taking him aback slightly.
“What does that have to do with—”
“Just humour me.”
“…Eleven.”
“I see,” There was another awkward pause, in which Gregory narrowed his eyes, not trusting where this was going. “You are... quite small for your age.”
“I’m sorry, what is the point of this conversation again?”
“Do you have a number for your parents?”
Gregory, having had enough emotional whiplash for the night, decided to stop eating and focus fully on Freddy. If he was really going to go down this route, then he had another thing coming.
“It is just…usually when children get lost, they have a number for their parents that we can call—”
“I don’t need a number; I can take care of myself.”
“I do not doubt that, but did they not at least come looking for you before the Pizzaplex closed today?”
Gregory inhaled sharply. “No, guess they were just…busy or something.”
“But to leave you here until nightfall?”
He started bouncing his knee, desperately wishing that Freddy would just drop it.
“And your guest profile—”
“Oh my God, would you just shut up?! ”Gregory finally snapped. “Seriously! What’s it got to do with you? Nothing! So just…leave it, okay?”
He hadn’t meant to sound so horrible, to make Freddy flinch, or to have tears start streaming down his face. Wiping at them furiously, Gregory hugged his knees to his chest as the quiet hush that fell between them became deafening.
“I…apologise,” Freddy rumbled, his eyelids drooping as he carefully considered his words. “I did not mean to upset you.”
Great. Now he’d pushed away the only person who had shown him any kind of kindness and understanding in this awful place. And not just in here, but out there. Where being nice was showing weakness. Where the weak were punished by the strong. And where little rats were left to fend for themselves.
“It’s fine,” Gregory mumbled, turning his head to the side to stare at the box of crackers again, wondering if the red-eyed rabbits would want to keep him company. “It’s fine, you can go.”
“What?” Freddy perked up, his optics wide.
“I said you can go.”
“Gregory, I am not leaving you on your own.”
He couldn’t help but scoff at that.
“I’ll be okay, always have been.”
“You…you mean to say…?”
“Actually, you never really explained why you’re helping me,” Gregory said, standing up with his hands on his hips. Though even sitting down, Freddy was still taller.
“Does there have to be a reason?” Freddy countered, tilting his head in that stupid innocent way.
“Well, there usually is. I mean, why put yourself through all this crap for some kid you barely know?”
Gregory didn’t even realise he was pacing at this point; the room was spinning regardless.
“Because I like you.”
Everything seemed to stop then as the two stared at each other. Freddy’s eyes had a strange aura of strength and conviction about them, unnaturally so for a robot.
“N-no…,” Gregory stuttered. “That…that can’t be it…”
“Because you are my friend,” Freddy slowly lifted an arm as an invitation.
Stunned, the boy’s legs seemed to move on their own as he stumbled over and planted himself next to the bear, saying nothing as a heavy but gentle weight settled on his shoulder. It was comforting, like an anchor that kept him from floating away into the abyss that was his own head.
“I want to help you.”
Pulling his knees back up, Gregory sniffed and leaned into the animatronic, feeling what he imagined other kids felt like when their parents shielded them away from the rest of the world with their strong arms and honeyed words.
“How long have you been alone?”
“Pretty much forever,” Gregory said, the words spilling out like vomit. “I don’t remember much about my parents. Just flashes of things. Like glass and…this strong smell of…booze? Drugs? I dunno. There was a lot of shouting. Then I ended up in care.”
He could feel Freddy’s hand tighten slightly over his shoulder, but he was careful enough not to dig his claws in.
“The adults there were mean, and the kids were even meaner. I got out as soon as I could. Tried to scrape by, do some jobs. Then I saw this place and…decided to crash for a while.”
“Wait, you mean to say you have been staying at the Pizzaplex?” Freddy asked, his ears twitching up in surprise.
“Yeah, for a few weeks now,” Gregory nodded. “It’s warm, dry and there’s food if you know where to look. Probably why that security lady wants me out so bad, can’t have a homeless kid putting off your VIPs.”
Freddy hummed at that, his processor whirring at this new information.
“I’d watch your shows sometimes,” Gregory admitted. “Usually the Sunday matinee, when it was quiet.”
“Did you enjoy them?”
“Uh…yeah, I guess. Music could get a little repetitive.”
“That is true,” Freddy nodded.
“Chica does a sick guitar solo though.”
The bear let out a hearty chuckle. “That she does.”
“Do you guys enjoy it? Performing every day?”
“It is what we were built for.”
Gregory raised an eyebrow. “That doesn’t answer my question, bud.”
His cheeks went red suddenly as he started questioning his own existence. ‘Bud’? What was he, some sort of middle-aged hipster dad? But Freddy seemed ecstatic.
“Yes, I suppose we do enjoy it, as much as we are allowed to. Seeing children’s faces light up…makes me happy. Like we have done something worthwhile, even if just for that day.”
Gregory smiled tiredly as he remembered seeing how excited the kids were whenever they saw Freddy on stage. He hated to admit he got a little giddy himself whenever he had a chance to watch. He really was good at looking after children and making them happy, unlike that creepy-ass Day-care Attendant.
There was a moment then. In which Gregory could feel the tug of sleep encouraging him to slip into darkness without having to look over his shoulder. For the first time in his life, he finally had a friend, and he would be damned if anything tried to take that away from him. So, he made a promise to himself, to make sure they got out of here together, no matter what the cost.
“We should probably get moving,” Freddy finally said, making a move to get up, only to stop when he noticed that Gregory had slumped against his side, softly snoring.
The bear smiled, and a quick scan revealed nothing immediately threatening in the area, they could probably afford five minutes. Or ten.
“Rest up, superstar,” Freddy whispered, pulling the boy close. “I will keep you safe.”
The rats scurried for the last slice of pizza, and the rabbits kept their distance.

Haha it's been a while since I've written so forgive me if I'm a bit rusty. I absolutely adore the relationship between Glamrock Freddy and Freddy, they're so wholesome. And the fact that we find out Gregory is homeless??? My heart???
Let me know what y'all think! Might write more of them in the future <8)

Title : The way your eyes burn my soul
Pairing : Gruvia
Summary : Surprise!
Spotlights were shinning brightly, illuminating the dark interview hall, but what set the hall on fire was the audience's energetic ovation.
At the center of the hall, the interviewer, a beautiful young woman was smiling ear to ear, in front of her, her guests of the day, the best duo of the Pop world were seated, delighted matching grins on their faces.
- " Welcome to Pep Talk! Today's a very special day for us because we've our favorite Pop duo, Gray and Juvia with us!!"
The crowd whistled and cheered again as the two stars bowed their head respectfully to the crowd.
- " Thanks Mira, it's our pleasure to be here." The raven haired man answered as he flashed a grin to the public, making girls squeal.
- " Gray's right! We're very happy to be here!" The blue haired girl added, clad in her navy cocktail dress.
Again the crowd cheered but it was mostly male public this time. Mirajane smiled at the public and shifted her attention back to the duo.
- " So, Gray, Juvia, first of all, Congratulations for your last album, Icy Waves. It's a mega huge success! But most importantly, your fans—no actually, people who I know that don't like pop are into it after listening to that album. How do you feel about it?"
The female artist waited for the applause to end before talking,
" We are really glad to hear that." She chuckled contently, a glance at her partner before trailing, "Gray and I worked hard on it...and it was our first album together so..."
- " She worked extra hard for it," Her partner added as she shook her head playfully glaring at him. He smiled as he added, " It was her idea, so Icy waves wouldn't be possible without Juvs here." He winked at the girl, earing a smile in return.
- " He's exaggerating, its our team work."
- " Of course not." He rolled his eyes in response.
Mira chuckled at their bunter eyeing them carefully. Let's get my very wanted scoop.
- "I'm sure your fans love your teamwork. Now, let's talk about this particular song..." she started grinning slowly, earning some whistles and the name of the single from the crowd.
- " Looks like they want the same... The way your eyes burn my soul..." The interviewer paused glancing at the young stars who's cheeks were flushing slightly—at least Juvia's—Gray was doing a great job hiding it.
Mirajane Strauss cleared her throat slightly, getting their attention.
" Your voices...the feel in the song is..." she sighed softly looking for the right word, "...Magic...How did that magic happen?" She asked sincerely.
- " You said it, magic. I guess magic happens in music." Gray answered cleverly, shrugging.
- " I think that answer is too vague Gray," Mira chuckled imploring him to continue.
Gray's lips tugged up as he slid in a more comfortable position on the couch.
- " Recently at your album's success party, there were rumors of the two of you dating, so is it safe to assume the magic wouldn't have happened without that?"
Juvia smiled softly, adorable rosy hues adorning her cheeks.
- " Yes, I think it wouldn't have been magic if there's no feel in it."
Gray's smile turned into something genuine as his eyes were fondly looking over his girl beside him.
- "Are we lucky enough to get more details about it then?"
- " it, here means song right?" Gray lifted an eyebrow playfully earning some chuckles.
- " Definitely the song, but Juvia mentioned something about feel." Mira retorted with a mischievous smile, "So, I'd say the magic of the song—or love."
Gray scoffed. The audience cheered louder.
No wonder she was known for the title of the sweet devil.
Nonetheless, he responded with a natural expression. Years of experience of being the center of spotlights learned him to keep his cool in any kind of situation. He knew to give what the public wants to hear without revealing too much about his personal life neither.
- " We've known each other for a very long time. We'd each other's back through the thick and thin of our careers...so our friendship turned into something more, and I'm truly happy with the change."
The crowd went crazy and Juvia blushed slightly. He looked at her with a soft smile who smiled back brightly. God, she's so beautiful. He thought.
- " Heard that you guys! We were right! Our lovebirds here are dating!" Mira exclaimed in delight—she's a gruvia shipper after all.—" I guess it's time to say—excuse me for my language— Fucking Finally! "
People erupted more into cheers and whistles and chanted their favorite pop stars' ship name. Once the audience calmed down, the interviewer started talking again.
- " Well honestly, almost everyone were shipping you two together since forever and your chemistry is just so perfect. We felt it in the song." She stated as the stars thanked her and their fans.
- " So, now that you got your answers and I've my scoop, let's move to the fun part, shall we?" She continued cheerful with a glance at the public.
- " I don't feel it." Gray stated frowning and Juvia laughed at it.
- " The game is called 'tas-quest.' It's very simple. I'll ask you both questions concerning your partner which you've to answer honestly. Same goes with the tasks."
The two of the nodded and proceeded to play the game.
- " Okay. First question is for Juvia. Who's Gray's crush?"
- " Ouch. You sure want our couple to last?" The said guy retorted with fake mock. "I don't have any other crushes than my girlfriend, right here." He blow a kiss in her way but Juvia hit his arm, glaring at him playfully.
- " Babe. What?"
She huffed with a grin and turned to Mira, " He's a crush on his childhood friend."
- " What?! That was years ago! I was eight! And she's married now, thank you very much." He crossed his arms with a huff.
- " It's still a crush." She argued back.
- " She's a point." Mira smirked as Gray glared at her.
- " Your turn, who's the most jealous between the two of you?"
- " Obviously Juvia." The male singer laughed though his companion she gasped offended at him.
Mira bit back a chuckle as she looked at the young couple in amusement. Juvia pointed a finger at her boyfriend, "You got jealous of a fan on our last concert."
Gray crossed his arms with a roll of eyes. " He was too close."
- " Because he wanted to take a photo." She retorted with a scoff.
- " Yeah right. He invaded your private space and I protected you being the charming boyfriend I am." Gray muttered under his breath, not loud enough for the fans to here but Juvia and Mira did. The latter smirked while the female singer rolled her eyes but allowed a smile.
He was too cute when he was jealous.—She thought endearingly. Without a word she placed her hand on the his that was resting in the bare space between them and caressed it to smooth him. It worked as he gave her a look and she smiled. He turned his aside fighting back a smile of his own.
The reporter cleared her throat to her their attention, "Moving on to the next  quest—oh it's actually a task for Juvia." She set her gaze on the girl who hastily pulled her hand away.
- " Yes ?"
- " You've to admit to Gray three of your secrets concerning him that you never would have told him." That earned chuckles and whispers.
- " Now it's interesting. I'm all ears Juvs. " He crossed his arms in curiosity, a playful gleam in his eyes.
- " Oh god, tell me I've a joker." She groaned in response—"Nope." Gray and Mira said at the same time.
Juvia pouted, "If I tell him my secret then it's no more a secret."
The sweet devil giggled, " That's basically the point of the game." The girl pouted more but turned her body slightly to her partner who was looking at her amused.
- " I've always found you cuter when you're sleeping...because you're messy, relaxed and actually a kid." She smiled tenderly at him as his cheeks tinted slightly. Their fans cooed. "...So I may have or may not have snapped pictures of you while sleeping." It was her turn to blush as he recovered from his flustered state to smirk at her handsomely.
- " Will we get some of them? " Mira interrupted.
- " Absolutely not." Juvia chuckled, "They're mine." The young girls sighed heavily but grinned at their favorite couple.
- " Next secret Wat'drop." Gray raised an eyebrow challengingly.
- " I stole one of your hoodies a few months ago and got to know recently that it's your favorite since you went through your room for it." She admitted with a cute frown.
- " Wait. My Detective Conan?" He asked in disbelief. His girlfriend bowed her head. " Guilty." She looked up at him again, " You're mad?" He rolled his eyes at her cuteness. How could he be mad at her when she was looking like that?
Instead of giving her a verbal answer, he ruffled her hair affectionately. Juvia smiled and promised herself to find him the real one he was looking for—the one he had that she stole (because she missed him too much), was not the one he wanted originally. The stocks wore off as it was a limited edition and he got himself the closest thing to the original. So, she would  buy him the one originally he wanted.
- " You guys are really cute together!!" Their interviewer squealed as she looked at them and the crowd agreed with her.
They thanked her and Juvia proceeded to the last secret with a groan. "Arghh...I can't believe I'm confessing this to you on a live show."
Gray's eyebrow lifted, " That much secret?" He frowned concerned, " You don't need to tell it."
Juvia shook her head, " No, I should play fair." She mumbled as she stared around at her fans and smiled at them. She then squeezed Gray's hand and locking her eyes on him.
- " I had a crush on you from the very first day I met you." Gray's eyes widened slightly, surprise written all over his face. They forgot they got a loud audience as he blinked at her.
- " Really?"
- " Really." She said softly. He leaned to her side, and kept his voice low. The public didn't notice their murmurs as they've gone wild since Juvia's confession.
-" I don't understand...you didn't like me back then..." He frowned. Juvia gave him a look that meant 'later'.
Mira cheered and turned to them,
" Thanks for playing fair Juvia! You're awesome!"
- " Well, it's almost time. I've a last..." She looked at the small card in her hand before looking back at Gray. " task for Gray."
- " Tell us three things you like the most about Juvia." A gentle smile crossed his features as he glanced at his girl before facing Mira.
- " I think the list is long but I'll keep it short..." He held a hand up, enumerating. " She's one of the most talented and dedicated person I know. Whether it's job or studies or other common things, once she gets into it, she's determined to finish it and gives her hundred percent in everything she does. She's a hard worker and I honestly think that's the reason of her success."
Juvia was touched by his words as she stared at the man she loved talking about her so highly and proudly. She knew why she loved him so much.
- " She's a very good friend—she's this kind of friend who you would call if one day you committed a murder and don't know what to do about it. She'll help you bury the body and get you safely out of the mess." Juvia along with others laughed at his statement.— "Not that I'm planning to murder someone." He added and Juvia laughed more, leaning into him before giving him a look that meant, 'call me if you do'.
- " I guess what I'm trying to say is, she's trustworthy and be there for you through thick and thin. The kind of friend everyone needs to have in their life and I'm grateful to have her in mine." He got everyone's heart with that—if he didn't already had—as they stared at him in awe.
Gray turned to Juvia and locked his eyes with hers as he was about to say his last one. " What I love the most about you is how you look at me. You look at me as if I was your world and you love me so freely and so...easily. You accept my imperfections and love me for myself and not because I'm a star..." He held her hand and pulled her up with him as she started tearing up despite trying hard to not cry. Gray smiled lovingly at her—the one he only reserved for her and never showed in public. " Thanks for loving me, Wat'drop."
Without minding the public—because she saw only him—she brought a hand to his face and he leaned in her touch still giving her that loving look. She smiled, her heart and mind racing as her whole being was consumed of an overwhelming love for the man standing before her. She leaned in and pressed her lips against his in a sweet, soft kiss that sent the room shaking in fan's wild ovation.
When the lovebirds departed from each other with matching grins, hands still intertwined, Mira almost fainted but managed to end the show with hearts in her eyes.
*
The young couple was in the back of Gray's car as they were been driven back to their respective homes. Juvia was asleep on his shoulder as he kissed her head and stroked her hair tenderly. She's been working on her new album for the past week when they just finished their album and even before the interview, she was asked in her studio. He knew that she barely had enough for the past months. Gray was grateful to his production house to be on vacation but it's not the case for Juvia. She's to work for at least a week or two before her own holidays. Thankfully, he would be still on holidays by that time, hence he'd already planned their vacation—It was a surprise for her.
Half an hour later, Gray was carrying his girl to his bed in his penthouse slowly to not disturb her sleep. He lied her gently on it and proceeded to take her heals off and stripped himself, leaving only his boxers before climbing up in the bed with her. Juvia almost immediately clung to him like a koala, her head placed on his chest, a leg on his and an arm across his stomach. With a soft smile, he wrapped his arm around her and squeezed her to him.
- " Are you sure you don't want to get comfortable before sleeping?" He whispered after a moment. She only tightened her hold on him. Gray rolled his eyes and ran a hand in her hair as he stared down at her.
- " I know you're awake Juvs."
- " Why didn't you change my dress?" Her voice was muffled due to her position as she buried her face in his neck. "I don't mind it. It's just you."
Gray's heart skipped a beat and he rubbed circles on her bare arms.
- " I respect you too much to take advantage of you while you're sleeping." He murmured.
She raised her head up with a yawn but gave him a sleepy smile. "Gray, changing my dress to make me comfortable on bed is not taking advantage of me. You're my boyfriend so it's basically your right." He returned her smile, tucking a strand behind her ear to stare into her beautiful blue orbs.
His smile turned soon into a gorgeous smirk. Oh boy. Juvia flushed and  shivered in his hold as his hand pulled the straps of her dress slowly. His eyes were intense on her as he murmured, "Why, I don't have a problem stripping you Wat'drop." His fingers caressed her bare shoulders burning her skin as they went by.  "In fact, I prefer you naked around me." His lips trailed from her ears to cheeks down her jaw and Juvia placed her hands on his chest to push back slightly to stare down at him with an adorable pout.
- " You're such a pervert." She murmured. He pecked her lips in response before looking at her innocently. " I'm using my boyfriend rights here." She hit his chest lightly with a soft frown that turned into a smile, wiggled out of his hold ignoring his protests.
- "Close your eyes boyfriend."
- " Nope." Gray grinned back as he found the perfect position to stare at her, his eyes trailing to her bare neck and shoulders as she held the dress to her chest.
Juvia glared at him for a moment and he held her stare before she shrugged. Gray's eyes widened as she let her dress fall and pool around her feet and stood before him, clad only in her undies. He openly gaped at her too surprised to react as he took her in.
Gray knew Juvia was beautiful. He's known her for almost six years now and he'd seen her in daring dresses before.—it was part of the job. But right now, she was actually standing in his room, in his arm length, only in her navy matching underwear. She was a goddess. Before he could even process what was happening, her hand was unclasping her bra and Gray hurriedly turned to the other side, cursing as Juvia's laugh filled the room.
He was a goner if he saw her naked. He wouldn't be able to not jump her after so Gray shut his eyes tight and pushing away the amazing vision he just saw into the back of his mind as he waited for the little tease of his girlfriend to finish changing.
A moment later the bed shook and her arms slipped around his torso from behind as she placed her face on his cheek. He felt her bare legs slipping on his and he knew that she was wearing his t-shirt. He could handle it. He'd already seen her in his clothes and she's very—Stop right there, Gray.
- " Comm'o look at me..." She chuckled, "...I'm not naked—
- " Shut up." He groaned. She placed a few kisses on his cheek with a smile and after a moment, he finally turned on his back. She smiled brightly at him and wrapped her arms around his neck.
- " I love you." She whispered and kissed his jaw before tucking her face under his chin.
- " I love you too Wat'drop." He kissed her head squeezing her to him.
- " You said sweet things at the interview." She murmured.
- " I was being honest." He said as he caught her looking at him lovingly—as if he was her world. "And I meant every word."  She was his world.
She hummed happily and closed her eyes. His arms were her safe, warm cocon. Her place.
-" Speaking of interview..." she lifted her head up in question, crossed her arms on his chest and placed her face on it, staring at his face.  " You said something about crush." His lips tugged up and her own tugged hp in a slow smile under his curios gaze.
Juvia cupped his face with a hand and smiled adoringly down at him. " I had a crush on you in high school. Remember our first meet?"
He recalled it with a fond smile, " You fell on me with books dropping on us. There's so much dust and we started sneezing and the old librarian was yelling at us like a mad woman."
The blue haired girl chuckled happily. " Well, I guess I didn't only fell on you that day but also fell for you."
Gray's eyes widened, " You loved me back then?" His heart thumping against his chest and he was sure that she could hear it, judging by her smile.
- " I thought it was a crush at first. You were so handsome and—"
- " Were?" He raised a teasing eyebrow. She rolled her eyes. "—are and I just liked looking at you..." her eyes locked with his in a playful gleam. " That is until I knew that you were my rival in everything. Literally everything!" She groaned dropping her head on his chest. "It was so annoying. You always beat me in one point or just behind me in a point. So annoying!"
Gray snorted rubbing her back. " I was not used to have a competitor and I hated to lose." She mumbled before lifting her head to face him.
" You hate to lose too." He chuckled but didn't say anything letting her rant about how annoying it was to be constantly on war with him in high school.
- " But I loved bickering with you. I couldn't spend a day without bantering with you. Really." She looked up at him stroking his cheek. "Then, there's this project in our second year and we were partnered up."
- " We ended it, won the first prize." He murmured as she nodded eagerly. " We became friends during that period..." He trailed tracing his finger on her cheek.
- " We were already kinda friends—frenemies, I guess. I've always admired you. You were the first person I've ever met with so much determination to win." She whispered eyes closed.
- " Hmm, I liked you too. But too arrogant to admit it." She snorted at his statement.
- " Then best friends. We were inseparable by the end of high school..." Gray hummed a nod. " You supported me before my uncle to pursue music career."
- " It's because you were incredibly talented Wat'drop." He said sincerely. She smiled as his finger traced the form of her lips.
- " That's an exaggeration but thank you for the compliment." She opened her eyes to look at him, " Want to know something? " He rose an eyebrow, silently asking her to continue. "You were my inspiration to fight for what I want, to fight for my dream." She kissed his forehead gently, " I won't be here without you, Gray Fullbuster."
- " And I won't without you. You were my only family when things fell apart." He retorted as he recalled his dark period—when Ur died.
" You were my strength and my very reason to not give up." Her eyes glistened as his welled up, and she kissed his eyelids, lingering when lips there. "If it wasn't for you, I'd be in streets."
- " You had all our friends with you. We all had your back."
- " True. I'm grateful for them but you, Juvia, you're special. You held me together." She smiled tearfully.
- " You are special to me too. Always have been."  He mumbled an 'I know' and rolled them over earning a surprised squeal from her as her back hit the mattress.
She stared up at him bringing him closer with her arms around his neck.
- " When did you know you loved me?" He asked gazing into her eyes.
- " Last year, when you were in your world tour." His love brushed the hair of his nape as he leaned his forehead against hers. " It started with little things. Like when I spent weekends in our friend's place watching movies and how you were not there to lean on or throw my legs on..." He grinned.
- " Then, we'd go to get a coffee and you weren't there to know that I don't add milk in my coffee. Then, I started missing your voice. I'd call you and couldn't get you so I would listen to your voicemail to hear your voice."
He leaned back to look at her apologetic, his being bursting with love for her. " Sorry about that. You know we barely have our phones on world tour."
- " I know, don't worry about it. But I yearned to hear your voice." He kissed her nose and lips in response.
- " By the time you were back, I knew I was madly in love with you and I couldn't imagine a life without you."
He could feel the love in her voice as she said it.
- " You aren't kidding—you practically choked me to death when you hugged me once you saw me in the airport." He teased with a grin.
- " Yeah well, I just realized I loved my best friend for years and you weren't there for eight moths. I wanted to lock you in a room and never let you go away from me."
- " It's creepy." He grinned.
- " You wouldn't have minded would you—wait why're you grinning?"
His grin widened and she held his face up and forced his eyes to hers. A moment in silence passed between them. Both of their hearts beating in sync as the realization settled over.
Juvia worded it slowly.
- " You loved me." Her tone was barley a whisper as she remained their eye lock.
- " I've loved you for a long time Wat'drop. A very very longtime that I denied and fought back my feelings."
- " Why?"
- " Because I've just lost Ur. And I've lost everyone I've loved. You, losing you...was unimaginable... I was terrified that my feelings will take you away from me so I fought them back to keep you with me. "
- " You wouldn't have lost me if you made a move earlier, Gray." She took a breath, " I've always denied my feelings for you as a crush and admiration until I really couldn't lie to me anymore..."
Gray sighed in response, "We we're both idiots huh..." She groaned, " We wasted years! We could've been together while we were still in Uni!"
Gray looked up at her, " Hey, we're together now and we've always loved each other without knowing so we're good." He shrugged and pecked her lips as she still had her pout on.
- " I'm a bit worried you...we are no more high school kids. We are popular now, successful stars in industry. And we're dating." Her voice dropped as she looked at him, " Going in public, was it a bad idea?"
- " Do you regret it?" He brushed away her hair, and she shook her head. "I'm just concerned about what it could do to our relationship...as much as I love my fans, when it's comes to their favorite celebrity's love life, they'd go crazy. Especially when two celebrities are dating. They don't see the fact that under the mask of popularity, it's two normal people with feelings and we can't really fault them." Her eyes started stinging as she stared at him. "I can't lose you, Gray."
He quickly reassured her pulling her in a tight hug. " You won't lose me." He pulled back slightly despite her pressure to stay like that. He stared into her eyes, " Didn't you say that I'm the most determined person you know?" A nod, "Juvia, I fight for what I want. " He lifted her chin up. " I'll always fight for you." He swore.
- " Promise?" Her tone was frail, and he smiled at her. " Promise. And you promise to fight for me?"
- " Always."
She brought a hand between them, holding up her little finger, He wrapped his around it and smiled when he saw their tattoos matching as their fingers locked together. Juvia dragged him to the tattoo parlor past midnight to get it in their half drunken states a few weeks ago. It was on the day of the success party of their first album together, Icy Waves. So they got themselves tattooed a drop of water on his finger and a snowflake on hers.
There's no ice without water and no water without ice. And Gray would be damned if he didn't keep that promise.

taking a photo of them smiling or in their element + Reggie/anyone plz
"Smile!"
Reggie gave a weak smile as the camera flashed, praying the pictures would be done soon. He appreciated that Ray wanted to capture every aspect of his daughter's engagement party, but Reggie was just trying to hold it together given he was in love with said daughter.
And her fiance.
So yeah, not really enthused about putting on a happy face right now.
It was Reggie's own fault really. He had been in love with Luke for ages, and Julie had snatched up his heart within minutes of meting her, long before she started dating Luke. But he never said anything, not wanting to disrupt their friendship, and doubting his own appeal. Then Luke and Julie finally got together, as they all knew they would, and that was that. Reggie was no homewrecker, so he kept his feelings to himself.
And now it was too late, so he resigned himself to being lonely until these crushes finally died (God he hoped they did, it had been years) or he found someone else. But until then he painted a false smile on his face, fake it 'til you make it right?
Thankfully Ray finally lowered his camera and Reggie was free to drown his sorrows at the buffet table, happy to stuff his face in any attempt to be left alone rather than rhapsodize about how happy the couple looked.
Soon enough, however, it was time to play. Because when you have a Grammy winning band at a party, regardless if the party is for two of them, you get them to play. But Reggie could let himself get lost in the music, grooving on his bass, bouncing all over the stage with a wide, real grin on his face. Letting himself just be as he sang with the two people who held his heart. Let himself pretend, just for a moment before reality crashed back in. Then it would just be clean up and he could go home to his couch for a pity nap.
~
Julie giggled as she pulled Luke up the drive to her dad's house. The pictures from their party were finally ready, and she couldn't wait to see them!
Only, when Julie looked at the group shots, there was something off. Reggie's usual mega-watt grin was missing. Sure, he was smiling, but for someone who knew him as well as Julie did, she noticed the difference.
"Man, what is up with Reg? You think he would have been blinding us all at a party with that smile," Luke commented. "He looks like he'd being forced to sit through a tax audit or something."
Ray silently clicked the mouse, showing them the next few sets of photos, showing them playing. "Do you see the difference mija?"
Julie looked at the picture in question, Reggie and Luke sharing a mic, and Reggie was beaming. Then another shot, her and Reggie sharing a duet, and he looked downright ecstatic. "Well he is in his element, playing on stage."
"Playing onstage with you," Ray said.
Luke and Julie looked at him confused, and Ray sighed. "I may not come off as the most observant man, but even I can see that Reggie seems to having feelings for you. The both of you. The question is... what are you going to do about it?"
The couple exchanged glances, and sat down heavily on the couch, not even noticing as Ray walked away. "Julie..." Luke started. "Umm, before me and you got together... I had the biggest thing for Reggie. But he never seemed interested, and you were, and I love you, but..."
"It never really went away?" Julie finished for him. Luke nodded, and his eyes started to water. Julie rushed in to take his hands, kissing a stray year away. "Oh Luke, it's okay. You can't control how you feel." She drew in a breath then, looking straight at him. "Neither can I. I... Look you weren't the only one with a thing for Reggie before we got together. So maybe this is the universe giving us a sign that we should re-examine that."
"Signs? Really?" Luke snorted, but then smiled. "Yeah, maybe. So... We're gonna do this? Date Reggie too?"
"As long as he says yes."
"He'll say yes," Ray said from the doorway. "Now go and get me a second son in law."
Julie grinned, pressing a kiss to her dad's cheek as they passed through the doorway.
And the next time Ray took a picture of the three of them? Reggie's smile could have rivaled the sun.

🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋
"I feel like Julie's ignoring me," Luke huffs, collapsing on the old couch. "Right?"
Alex is sitting at the edge of the loft, legs dangling, and sighs when Luke clearly interrupted his reading of the paperback. The boys stare at each other for a beat, the pouty boy not giving up his disgruntlement, so Alex puts his book down in surrender.
Poofing to sit beside him, he says, "What happened?"
"We talked at her school and then she didn't hug me!"
Alex blinks, confused. "So... she... didn't ignore you?"
His scowl deepens. "She did."
"Do you know the definition of ignoring someone?" he deadpans. "She talked to you at school, which, by the way, you should never be."
"I can go wherever I want."
"You go wherever Julie goes," Alex points out.
"I don't!"
"Then go do something right now — alone."
Luke gasps. "You kicking me out?"
Alex laughs, "I'm challenging you to get out of Julie-land, for once."
Ha, he's acting like Luke's attached to the hip with Julie. It's not like he's dependent on her, but it's just more fun to be around her. She makes the day better. Is that so wrong? So what if he tries to make her laugh during school hours? So what if he poofs into her bedroom while she's studying to tease her?
Sure, he's got a big fat crush on her, but they're first and foremost best friends. How can he not be over-fucking-zealous when it comes to his best friends?
Crossing his arms, he feigns indifference. "Sure, whatever. I'll, uh, go to the skate park. There are still record stores, right?"
Amused, the blonde nods and returns to his book, leaving Luke more annoyed and flustered than when he came in. With a snap of his fingers, he reappears in the heart of the bustling L.A. in search of excitement. He can do this! He doesn't need Julie, or anyone, to have fun!
And he does have fun. At first. Wandering around the few record stores that still thrive in the area, listening to new records and fawning over vintage ones — unbothered by customers phasing through him. He goes to Venice Beach and watches the skaters, talks to a couple of ghosts ("Gnarly waves, dude! Wish I could still surf!") and almost salivates at the smell of a delicious sandwich shop.
But that's the first few hours. Then it just goes downhill, like, really fast.
Sulking down the streets, annoyed people can't see him, wondering what his boys are up to, wondering what Julie is up to. If she's having fun, if she's bored, if Nick is trying to sweet talk her again. Luke frowns. He doesn't like that guy one bit. Too clean, too smooth, too... yeah, Nick ain't it. He hopes Julie sees that as well.
Oh, man. Is he jealous now? Should he go to her school and check? But then Alex wins! And how the hell would he even begin to explain it to Julie? "Hey, Jules! I got mad jealous of Nick possibly flirting with you. Has it happened yet?" That's crazy. He can't do that.
Finally, the sun dips into the afternoon and the miserable Luke poofs back to the studio. Alex is gone, Reggie's still out too, so all he can do is wait for Julie with eager anticipation.
When her footsteps near, he perks up.
"Hey, Luke," she smiles, dropping her backpack by the doors. "What's— oh!"
Before she can finish her sentence, he scoops her up in a warm embrace and lifts her off the ground.
Her sweet laugh chimes in his ear and he feels at ease again. Alex was right: he's fully immersed in Julie-land and, frankly, has no intention of flying back any time soon. The crush is mega fuckin' huge and he doesn't care at all.
"I'm still surprised you can hug me," she says. "It's like—" he puts her down and he catches her shy grin "—really... intense."
He grimaces. "Intense?"
"Good intense." She gently grabs his hand. "Promise."
Their hands swing between them and Luke feels himself melting. He knows he should crack a joke right now, or throw a song idea, but this is better. This is so much better.
She giggles, "What? Stop looking at me like that!"
Tugging on her hand, his head ducks to meet her eye and says, "I— what am I doing?"
Her gaze averts and she lets go of his hand, though her smile keeps growing as she goes to slide behind her piano. A breath leaves him, unsure how long he's been standing there, and collects himself.
She definitely isn't ignoring him now.
"You know what you're doing," Julie quips, directing his attention back to her. Challenge lights up her face as she leans forward. "I don't believe you don't know."
He puffs. "I swear to Eric Clapton I have no idea."
"That thing you do with your eyes? And smile?" When he doesn't react, clueless, she sits back with a shrug. "Whatever..."
"No!" He rushes forward, dialling up his smile to convince her. "No, continue, I wanna know." Propping his elbows on the glossy wood, he adds, "C'mon, boss, whatcha thinkin'?"
Julie chuckles, whipping up her phone and taking a picture of him. Confused, he cranes his neck to see if he shows up and then freezes. Whoa.
First of all, it's high definition. Not those grainy ass pictures Reggie used to take.
Secondly, his face. What the hell! Does he really make that face?
Sliding the phone towards him, she says with a smug hint, "Do you see it?"
When the screen fades to black, his heart spikes up. Reggie told him a couple of days ago how obvious he was, but he had dismissed it. But fuck, man, he really is. How is he supposed to stay suave and play along with the game of no ghost on human macking, when she's cornering him?
Shy, he says, "And... I have to stop doing that?"
She shrugs. "Maybe."
"Maybe?"
"Why do you look at me like that?"
His eyes narrow. Now she's just playing with him. Bouncing around the piano, he slides into the seat beside her and seizes her up. "You– you know why."
She doesn't stop, getting all in his face — something she probably learned from him — and uttering, "I do?"
"'Course," he retorts, casual, like he isn't freaking out inside, "I always say you're a star, so..."
Connection is all he ever craves, but he doesn't think it's ever felt so petrifying as now, when Julie's expression falls into one of complete awe. When she's so close he could kiss her. When they're both nearing the sun and uncovering all that's been simmering beneath each knowing smile and harmonised verse.
"I thought... you meant it in a, like, music way," she whispers.
He shrugs, dopey. "Both."
Never the first to move away, to back down, he waits for her to react. Luke's thrown it all on the table now (or piano, really) and there's no time to regret it.
Julie's gorgeous, something she deserves to be reminded of.
And then she kisses his cheek, chaste, and dazzles him with that smile that always makes his breath stutter.
Oh, man, oh, man, oh, man...
Turning to her songbook, she exhales loudly and says, "Anyway... music?"
"Yeah," he chuckles, giddy, "I'm thinking... Payphone?"
"Yeah, let's work on the bridge."

Constellations- Charlie Gillespie Imagine
Summary: You and Charlie go on many adventures, and this time Charlie surprises you with an adventure you’ve wanted to do for a while.
Warnings: none just MEGA FLUFF
Words: 2.29k
Tumblr media
When it came to getting to know Charlie, I found out that he is a very spontaneous person. We have been best friends for the past 8 years (crushing on him for the past 3 years), and I have been on so many adventures with him. We have been on many camping trips, random drives, sunrise hikes, and midnight shenanigans. These adventures would either be Charlie texting to see if I wanted to do something, or he would just show up at my door as if he already knew I would say yes. It’s never a dull moment with him.
It was a Friday night and I was sitting on my couch watching Friends eating a bowl of spaghetti with garlic salt sprinkled around the noodles. Normally, every Friday Charlie and I have dinner together while we watch a TV series or movie. However, with Charlie’s filming schedule, he isn’t able to do it all the time. Tonight was one of the nights I wish I had him around for company.
Knock, knock, knock.
I jumped at the sound coming from the front door. I quickly put down my bowl on the coffee table and pause my show to walk over to the door. I unlock the door and open it to find my best friend standing in front of me.
“Charlie?”
“Surprise shawty!” he says with making jazz hand gestures. I furrow my brows at his uncommon remark. “I learned that from Mads. I thought it was funny.”
I nod my head, “I figured as much. What are you doing here? I thought you had filming tonight?”
“Yeah, I kind of lied about that. I felt bad for not being able to make it to our Friday night dinners, so I thought I would surprise you!” Charlie says while stepping into my apartment. “Uh, you’re watching Friends without me?!”
I chuckle at his offended outburst and close the door, “Sorry! I didn’t know what else to watch. Plus, I didn’t want to start anything new without you!”
Charlie shakes his head in disappointment. “Are you ready to go?” he asks while bouncing on the balls of his feet.
“What do you mean?” I question.
“I have a surprise for you. Are you ready to go?” he explains.
My eyes widened, “I thought your presence was a surprise. Not, ‘I have a surprise for you’! Also, do I look ready?” I gesture to the tank top and shorts I was wearing.
Charlie shrugged his shoulders, “Well, if you aren’t ready, then go get dressed! Wear something warm; it’s a little chilly out tonight.”
I go to the coffee table where the remote was placed and turn off the TV. “Alright, alright. I’ll be right back. You can have the rest of my noodles, by the way. I’m full,” I say while walking to my room to get changed.
I shouldn’t be so surprised that Charlie was doing this. I guess with his busy schedule, we haven’t been on an adventure together in a while. I looked in my drawers to see what I should wear. I have no idea what Charlie as planned, so I’m not entirely sure what kind of outfit I should wear. I find one of Charlie’s long-sleeved shirts that he left at my apartment and decide to wear that since he said to dress warm. Even though I have washed it, his cologne still lingered on the piece of clothing. I change my shorts to wear leggings and put on some Doc Martins boots.
I quickly put on some deodorant and walk back to the living room. Charlie was sitting on the couch watching Tik Tok. I stop at the beginning of the hallway, “Is this okay?”
Charlie’s head snaps towards me. “Perfect!” he says standing up. “Is that my shirt?”
I look down at the brown and white, striped long sleeve shirt. “Yeeaah?” I say timidly not knowing what he what he was thinking.
“You look cute in my clothes!” Charlie smirks and puts his hands in his pockets. I could feel my cheeks burn from his compliment. For years, I have been trying to hide the fact that I have been crushing on my best friend. It hasn’t been easy when he is a naturally flirty person. Plus, I don’t think he thinks of me that way because we have been friends for so long.
“Thanks. Should we get going?” I question.
“Yes, we shall!” Charlie shouts as he walks to the door and opens it. “After you!” I giggle at his silly gentleman actions. We walk down the apartment hallway to the parking lot where his orange Subaru was parked. Charlie opens the passenger door, and I climb into the car. Ever since high school, Charlie always opened the car door for me. Even if I opened it myself, he would shut the door and reopen it so he was the one to open it. Sometimes I mess with him and get in the car myself, but he would just make me get out for me to just go back in the car when he opens the door.
Once Charlie gets into the car, I ask, “So, where are we going?”
Charlie turns on the car and puts his seatbelt on, “That’s for me to know and for you to dot, dot, dot.”
I snort at his response. “Did you just quote Vampire Diaries?” I laugh.
“Maybe!” Charlie smiles and backs out of the parking lot. He turns on the radio to some random country station. Even though I’m not the biggest fan of country, I enjoy listening to it with Charlie. I tried to think on what he was wanting to do when it’s 11 o’clock at night. There aren’t many things open. I thought at first he wanted to just go for a drive, but he would have just told me that because that isn’t much a ‘surprise.’
Next thing I know, we have been driving and jamming out to music for the past 45 minutes. I look around to see that we were basically in the middle of nowhere. “Charlie, you aren’t kidnapping me, right?” I wonder jokingly.
Charlie gasps and puts a hand on his chest as if he was offended, “How did you know?!” He breaks into a smile and a giggling fit. I laugh along with him at how cute he was acting.
“No, but for real. Where are we and what the hell are we doing?” I ask looking out the window. There was nothing but open fields.
Charlie slows the car down and pulls over to where the whole car was on the grass. He then puts the car in park. “We are here!” he says excitingly. Charlie pops open his trunk and jumps out of the car.
I follow Charlie and get out of the car. I walk towards the trunk to see him holding a couple of blankets. “Okay, you have some blankets? Are we camping without a tent?” I question. I am completely lost at what Charlie is wanting to do.
“We, (Y/N), are going to star gaze!” Charlie says.
“Wait, really!? I’ve been asking to do this for forever!” I say jumping up and down happily.
Charlie giggles at my excitedness, and we start walking in the empty field. I grab one of the blankets in Charlie’s arms so he wasn’t the only one carrying something. We get close to the middle of the field and place the blankets on the ground. Because I was so excited, I plopped and lie onto the ground. Charlie lies down on the right of me and we start looking at the sky. You could hear nature everywhere. You could hear the night birds chirping, the grasshoppers playing their music, and the cicadas all around us. I take my phone out of my pocket and start playing low vibes music.
“Was this worth the wait?” Charlie asks.
I nod my head, “Heck, yeah! I’ve missed our adventures, so this is amazing!”
“That’s good! I know how much you love stars and constellations, and you have been asking to go star gazing for a while,” Charlie says still looking at the stars.
“I appreciate it a lot. Thank you!” I say facing Charlie. I grab his hand and give it a squeeze. As I was going to pull my hand away, Charlie squeezes my hand as well so I wouldn’t let go. I start to blush at this and face the sky so Charlie doesn’t notice my blushing.
I then start to point out a bunch of constellations that I could find. Every now and then through my peripheral vision, I would notice Charlie looking at me instead of looking at the sky. He wouldn’t look for long before he would face the stars again. However, as I was pointing out the Canis Major constellation, Charlie wasn’t paying attention to the sky at all. Instead he was just looking at me. I stop what I was saying and face Charlie. “Are you listening?”
He tilts his head, “I have for the majority at the time. I just think you lighting up about stars is so cute!”
I shake my head and look at the sky again, “Whatever.”
“Plus, you have a constellation,” Charlie says.
I snap my head back towards Charlie. “What do you mean?”
He turns on his left side and places his index finger on my left cheek while still holding my hand. “Your freckles right here. They kind of make a constellation. It can be called the (Y/N/N) constellation.” Charlie says while lining up the freckles on my face. I could feel my face getting hotter as Charlie was guiding his finger on my cheek.
“Have you been looking at my freckles instead of the stars? I mean, the stars are beautiful tonight!” I say, trying to put the attention back on the sky and not my face.
“But I am looking at something beautiful. I’m looking at you,” Charlie compliments, his finger still lining the freckles on my cheek. He had a slight smirk on his face. He then stops lining my freckles, tucks a strand of hair behind my ear, and cups the left side of my face. He brushes his thumb on the apple of my cheek. My heart is beating so hard and so fast. I couldn’t believe what was happening. Charlie’s eyes kept switching to looking at my eyes to my lips. ‘Does he want to kiss me right now?’ I think. No one does that unless they want to kiss someone. I suddenly feel Charlie’s hand that was on my cheek sneak a little towards the back of my neck. He then pulls my face towards his and captures my lips onto his. I hesitantly kiss back, shocked that I am kissing my best friend right now! Charlies lips were so soft, and I could slightly taste his vanilla chapstick. He pulls away slowly. I gradually open my eyes to see him looking at me.
“Wow,” I whisper. “I-I wasn’t expecting that!”
Charlie pulls away his hand from my cheek, “Was that okay?”
I slightly bit the corner of my lip, “I mean, I’m not complaining about it.”
“Well, that’s good. I would be embarrassed if you weren’t okay with it. I have been wanting to do that for a while,” he says looking down at our hands.
I furrow my brows, “Y-you have?”
“Yeah!” Charlie scoffed. “I thought it has been pretty obvious that I have liked for a couple years now. I’ve been dropping subtle.. well I guess not so subtle hints, but it wasn’t working because you never noticed!”
I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. “Seriously?! I never knew that you would like me back!” I said now sitting up and letting go of Charlie’s hand.
He looks up at me and sits up as well. “Wait, like me back? You l-like me, too?”
“Yes, Charlie,” I sigh. “I’ve liked you for the past three years or so. If anything, I thought I was being obvious even though I was trying to hide it.”
“Why were you trying to hide it?” Charlie questions.
“I didn’t want to ruin our friendship,” I confess. “I didn’t want to tell you my feelings if you didn’t feel the same way. I would have hated myself if I made our friendship awkward because of that. So, I tried to burry my feelings and not let it get to me.”
Charlie takes both of my hands and gives them a little kiss. “I felt the exact same way. I didn’t want to lose what we have, but I guess this means we can grow what we have even more,” he says, caressing my knuckles.
“Yeah, I guess it does,” I smirk. “That is if that’s what you want.”
Charlie leans in closer to my face and whispers, “It’s all I want.” He places his lips on mine once again. This time I instantly kiss back, take my hands out of his, and place them on his cheeks. Charlie rests his hands on my thighs. I smile within the kiss because of how happy I am.
After a few kisses, I pull away. Charlie smiles sweetly and squeezes my thighs. “I think this is our best adventure yet,” he says.
I nod my head in agreement, “I think you’re right.”
“Maybe our next adventure could be a date? A proper date?” Charlie asks.
I smile widely and give him a peck on the lips, “I would love that.” Charlie gives me a couple of cheek kisses to then give me a few more pecks on the lips. We both lie back on the ground to cuddle up next to one another and continue to look at the stars. This was the best night ever!

Tumblr media
While she'd given you a taste of the silent treatment last night, it didn't stop you and the boys from teasing her relentlessly for her crush. David sat on his bike, tapping the ash off the end of his cigarette. He loved to tease, and he did so subtly by saying,
"He kinda looks like Jim Morrison." He started, and Star sent him a glare from where the pair of you were sitting. Even if the boys didn't know where he was taking this, Paul was already laughing. David grinned and was quiet for a moment. As if he would agree to drop it. He didn't, and finished his teasing by saying, "Y'know, we could move that poster into your bedroom." And the boys erupted into a chorus of laughter when Star threw her corn dog stick on the ground. The boys only added onto his teasing, with Paul reaching out to pinch her side and say,
"Hey, no littering, miss." As he mimicked Big Ed's voice. She rolled her eyes again, and you grinned and gave her hand a squeeze. You knew it was all in good fun, and it wasn't their fault if Star happened to just be an easy target. Even Dwayne was having fun with it, telling her,
"I didn't know you had a thing for brunettes." Before running a hand through his own hair. Star had scoffed at that, and finally cracked when even Laddie started to laugh along with them.
"Y'know, you guys are the worst." Before she hopped off your seat and floated away from the pack of you. When you tried to follow and called after her, Marko was quick to grab your hand and spin you. He pulled you back into his arms, pulling a laugh from you as well, before he said,
"Nah, let her go. She's been hogging you." He said, and leaned down to nip at your neck. You yelped, trying to slap him away but his grip was too strong. It didn't take long for you to surrender, pulling him in by his jacket to satisfy him with a kiss.
She'd been gone for a little bit longer than you liked. You were picking at Markos jacket, having moved to sit behind him. It was almost time for you to leave, and Star still hadn't returned. The boys did what they did best, and they were a good distraction. Mostly. The night was stretching on, and you were starting to worry your lip between your teeth. You glanced at David, concern swirling in your eyes before he glanced away. Towards the opposite side. It seemed one of you may have to go find her, draw her back. You knew it would probably be you, and you were just about to offer before David let out a small scoff.
You looked where David was looking, leaning back as you held onto the curly-haired blonde. It seemed Star had caught her stray.
He was leading her towards his bike. It was red and not nearly as geared up as the bike you were sitting on, or the bikes surround it, but the simple act made you frown. From over here, you could almost hear him ask if she wanted to go somewhere, and you watched as she made moves to accept.
All it took was a shared glance, and the five, plus Laddie, of you had the same idea. You'd been starting to get worried, thinking that you were going to have to go track her down. And all this time she was with loverboy? Even if you didn't want to be, a part of you was pissed. You didn't know why. Sharing had been easy before, but the idea of this mysterious kid? He set you off, ground your gears. Maybe it was because you thought she could do better. Maybe it was something else you didn't want to admit. Either way, it didn't help that David seemed to feel exactly the same way. Or maybe David just wanted to be a dick.
The six of you rode up to them, boxing the pair of them in. You had your chin on Markos shoulder, and you played with a couple of the loose strands on Markos jacket. Your eyes fluttered over the boy. He was handsome, with a strong jaw and nice cheekbones. It was understandable as to why Star liked him. Hell, he was pretty. There was no other way to go about it. But your eyes moved to her right as David spoke,
"Where you goin', Star?" And you lifted your head. You were staring at her, silently asking her the same question.
"For a ride." She said. She had met David's eyes, but quickly avoided everyone else's. Your own. She even turned her back to you as she said, "This is Michael." You frowned, your eyes shifting to the boy besides her. So, loverboy had a name?
"Hi, loverboy." You said, leaning your cheek on Markos shoulder and sending him a small wave. You'd caught his attention for a moment, and you almost thought you could see his cheeks tinge at the nickname. It seemed he remembered you. He was quick to look away, hiding an embarrassed smile. Just cause he had a name didn't mean you were going to use it. Especially when embarrassing him was so fun.
"C'mon, let's go." He said, and your eyes were quick to flick to David's. He was already on it. He leaned back, calling the single word,
"Star." And her eyes flicked back to him. David clicked his jaw, staring back. It was a game of chicken. One to test if she really was mad at the lot of you. You didn't know how she'd react, but you watched the exchange just as closely as Michael did. Finally, Star gave in. She wasn't really mad at all of you, and she didn't want to stir any tensions by acting like she was. She moved to take her usual seat behind David, and your lips spread out into a mega-watt smile as you reached a hand out to touch her. Paul laughed his usual laugh, but it was more at the brunettes expense. You turned to see that Michael had deflated, a look of disappointment on his face. David smiled, and you couldn't tell whether it was from winning Star over or from Michaels loss. Maybe a little bit of both. Either way, David could be an ass, but he was a surprising ass. "You know where Hudson's Bluff is? Over looking the point?"
With Michael in tow, you'd ended up back at the cave. He was pretty, sure. But he wasn't smart. You'd guessed that the second he'd tried to pick a fight with David. To your surprise, David had let it go. You were almost impressed with him. You didn't know him to have an easy temper, but he'd even gone as far as wrapping his arm around his shoulders as he showed them their little living area. After giving him the usual spiel, of course.
Your boys had spread out, with Marko going to get food, Paul, Laddie and Dwayne on the fountain, and David and Michael heading towards the couch with a joint in hand. You didn't live in the cave, but you might as well have. You spent plenty of nights there before retreating to your father's house. You were his golden child, and he wouldn't have you sleeping over with kids like them, as your father put it. You and Star had clasped hands, the pair of you standing near the rock entrance as you watched David sit Michael down. You glanced at the pair of them, before glancing at the poster David hung on the wall. You watched how David talked to him, before you gripped her hand and grabbed the arm of the girl next to you. You leaned in, whispering,
"Doesn't David have a thing for brunettes?" And it took Star a second to realize before she was tearing her eyes away and staring at you,
"No way-" But you were cutting off her words with your own laughter. She reached up, covering your mouth despite her own giggles as the boys looked over at the pair of you. You watched as David arched a brow, a cigarette balancing between his lips. Michael looked confused, and you almost could swear that you could hear elevator music coming from inside his head. You tried to silence your giggles, but even Star couldn't stop her smile as she dragged you towards her room. You saw David lean back, his arm around the back of the couch behind Michaels head. He's totally putting on the moves. You thought to yourself, making your giggles even harder to stop. You watched David clench his jaw, and faintly you could hear him say,
"Don't mind them, Michael. They're like a pair of hyenas, those two."
You were sure that Michael was staring at the pair of you. You were sitting on the floor, a layer of pillows keeping you from sitting directly on the gravel.  You glanced over your shoulder, but Star was quick to grab you by it. She was quick to say,
"Don't look." And you tried to be serious. You really were trying. Maybe it was the joint the two of you had been passing back and forth, but everything was funny. It was also the second you made eye-contact with her; you couldn't help the giddy feeling she made run through you, and you couldn't help your own attempts to make her smile. After a moment, she whispered, "Okay, okay, now look." You weren't surprised to see that Michaels baby blues were trained over to where the pair of you were sitting, but they glanced away at the blonde beside him the next moment when David tried to steal back his attention.
"If you don't hurry up, David's gonna steal him-" You said quietly, and you couldn't stop your laughter when she tried to shush you. Maybe it was a trick of the candle-light but you thought he'd face had turned a lovely shade of red. She gave you a half-hearted glare, tilting her head as she said,
"Shut up. You're- You're terrible at this. How did we start dating?" And you only hummed in response, sending her a shrug. You held her hand, interlacing your fingers. It was much easier to not be jealous of Stars crush when she was holding your hand, and when David was expressing his own interest. Well, it was probably mostly easier because you were high.
You ran your fingertips over the warmth of her hand, your eyes trailing over her face as she glanced over at the other curly-haired brunette. You thought about leaning in, pressing a kiss to her cheek. To her neck. Her lips. You wondered how Michael would react to that. But Star was snapping her head back towards you and whispering,
"He's coming over." And you tore your eyes from the sight of her face just in time to see him standing near the bunched up curtains of Stars room. He seemed almost shy, but too- whatever to really show it. He was unsure of where he stood, at least aware to know that he was a newcomer. But you were sure he remembered what had caught his interest in this group first. It made a small smile come to your face, and you brought the rolled cigarette up to your lips, blowing out a flume of smoke before you said,
"Hi, loverboy." It seemed to become his semi-permanent nickname, and even just saying it made you smile. You watched how Michael moved his head, attempted to hide his face. He pointed a finger to where you were sitting, at the spot between either of you.
"Mind if I join?"

Chapter 3: Feelings and First Times
A little prequel that takes place during 2.01-2.02 when Devi is dating both Ben and Paxton. The first time they have sex, it isn’t in a friends-with-benefits relationship. It’s bordering on the brink of something real, something special, at least in Paxton’s retrospect.
tw: rated M for sexual content
In the days that followed Devi deciding to date both Ben and Paxton, their relationship moved at a quicker pace than expected. Paxton meant what he said by wanting to make the time they still had together count, even if it would only be for a couple more weeks. So when Devi is invited to the Hall-Yoshida household that Friday night with the implicit instruction to stay over, she tells her mom she is sleeping over at Eleanor’s and is maybe even a little too eager to get there, the walk feels more like a sprint. They had tried taking the next step a few times, and then realized they wanted to live long enough to actually see each other, so doing it at the Vishwakumar residence was out of the question.
She isn’t expecting much, a pizza, maybe some video games in the garage and then she’d retire to Rebecca’s room and try to raid her closet unsuccessfully. But what she arrived at was a whole other story.
She was greeted at the door with a long, slow kiss and Paxton’s lit up face as he ushered her inside.
“We’ve gone on enough dates for me to get that it means one on one, so tonight it’s just us.” He was biting the inside of his cheek.
“Do you have protection?”
“Yeah I-Why, do you?” Leave it to Devi to be the first one to bring up sex. She did say that Paxton brought out her mega-horny side after all, and never thought she would actually get this close to having sex before being moved halfway around the world.
“Yeah, I kind of panicked and asked Kamala to buy me some at the drug store and drop it off a block away so my mom didn’t catch on.” For talking a big game, Devi knew next to nothing about sex. She only knew what she saw in tv shows, read about in weird Wattpad-fanfiction-turned-best-selling-novels, and researched on the internet. She had tried watching porn once but she clicked play when her airpod was off and you couldn’t pay her to relive that experience and the horror of her mom asking what she was doing.
“I kinda asked my parents to take Becca out for the night. I wanna show you something.” Paxton lightly took her head as they walked up the staircase towards his bedroom. Not the garage, not the couch, his room.
“If this is going to be one of the last weekends we have together, I wanted it to be special and shit.” She had been in Paxton’s room before, but had never seen it so clean, and was that the smell of fresh sheets? Upon taking in Devi’s widened gaze, he quickly backtracked and shook his head vigorously. “Not that we have to fool around or do anything that you don’t want to.”
Devi was shaking her head and stifling a laugh for a whole other reason.
“I just wanted you to have something that was something out of the stupid chick-flicks that Becca makes me watch. Something that you can think about while you’re in India and I’m stuck here. I had to use these dumb environmentally friendly light bulbs that my mom buys because the last time we had real candles, there was an incident with Trent and the house almost burned down.”
He had lit candles, or at least light bulbs in the shape of candles, ushered his family out of the house and seemed rather hesitant about asking for sex. She couldn’t believe this was her life right now. Her relationship with Paxton had always been somewhat based on physical attraction. When they first talked and she asked him for sex, to when they started dating and moved onto beyond chaste kisses and lingering touches over clothes to long makeout sessions and bruised lips and body parts.
If anything it only made her want him more and she eagerly hooked her arms around his neck. “This is perfect. More than perfect actually, you didn’t have to go through all the trouble, but I’m glad you did.”
Normally Devi was the one rambling and Paxton was the one initiating things between them, it was kind of a rush to be on the other side of things for a change.
“I want my first time to be with you, here, just like this.” She whispered against his mouth, watching as his lips curved upwards into a wide smile.
He took his time kissing her, familiarizing himself with her body, teasing things out in her that she figured laid dormant. He was moving so slow that Devi was getting frustrated as they fell back onto his bed.
“I know I’m the virgin here, but doesn’t it usually move a lot quicker than this?” She was trying to unbutton his jeans, lift up his shirt to feel his abs, anything to speed things up but Paxton simply continued pushing his tongue past her lips and making her head spin.
A hand snaked under her shirt and Devi immediately moved to cover her breasts, insecurity surfacing at the worst time.
“What’s wrong?”
“I know I have small boobs and I’m not like Zoe or Shira levels of hotness. So if this isn’t, you know up to par with the sex you usually have, I understand.”
Paxton only furrowed his eyebrows in confusion. Did she really not know how he felt about her?
“Not only are you beautiful on the outside, but you’re gorgeous on the inside, something that they...are lacking.”
His words always made her flush, and this time was no exception. “I like your body. Now can I continue to appreciate it the way it deserves?” He chuckled under his breath and with one hand, grabbed both of hers and pinned them above her head. Her eyes widened in surprise and anticipation, she bit down on her bottom lip and if things weren’t already well on their way, he would have muttered something about wanting to do very dirty things to her. Repeatedly.
“If this is the first time, and quite possibly the last time we have to do this, you better believe that I am going to be taking my time with you.” He caught her lower lip with his teeth, slowing his movements which only made a whine emit from deep in her throat.
Paxton’s free hand moved between her legs and brushed her core through her underwear. Without breaking eye contact he moved her panties aside and inserted one finger into her, and then another.
The sudden pressure made Devi suck in a breath, no amount of YA novels or research could have prepared her for what it would actually feel like. Her whole body lit up, as if she was covered in gasoline and Paxton had lit a match, starting a fire that only seemed to spread.
“So tight.” His breath came out ragged, his jeans tightening against him. Paxton thought that guys thought about sex more than girls, and he hadn’t heard anything to the contrary until he met Devi. She had stared at him one too many times past the point of charming and made remarks about wanting to “climb him like a jungle gym.” Mostly through text to Fabiola and Eleanor that he may have happened to stumble upon when he used her phone to play Candy Crush.
In the days that followed their kiss in the park, Paxton wanted to nail his next history while Devi made it increasingly difficult to concentrate with all the short skirts she would wear, and don’t forget about the constant sexual innuendos she would make that went over his head because they had to do with whatever subject they were learning about.
“Is this okay?” He asked, his eyes searching hers for any hint of hesitation. One word, and he would gladly stall his movements. “Do you want me to stop?”
“No, just go faster. I want more of you. All of you.”
This night was all about making her comfortable, making sure she was getting the most out of this, that her needs were met. A selfish part of him hoped that if he made a lasting impression, she wouldn’t come back from India with a smarter, hotter, boyfriend or worse, fiance. His fears only made his grip on her tighten and tilt her chin up so she was forced to meet his eyes.
“Tell me, in words or else I’ll just assume and that’s a really shitty thing to do.” He spoke slowly, deliberately as her eyes fixated on his chest.
“I want you inside of me.”
Paxton breathed out a sigh of relief, or was Devi breathing out her own? He withdrew his hand and her body instantly shivered at the loss of contact. Within the time it took for him to shake off his jeans, Devi had regained control of her hands and grabbed a fistful of his T-shirt into her hands, yanking it over his head in record time.
“Do you want me to touch you?”
“Shh, this is about making you feel good.” He mumbled into her hair, dragging his lips towards her ear as she ground her hips into his. He took a condom out of his jeans pocket and rolled it on before positioning himself in between her legs.
He pushed into her slowly, the movements stilling as Devi dug her nails into his back in retaliation. She grimaced at the feeling, her body was tightly wound up and only when Paxton began to move his body at a quicker pace, did hers relax in response.
They laid in bed after, Devi’s legs felt like the jello and even if she had to be home in a few hours, she wasn’t sure she’d be able to walk without falling or at least looking like a klutz. “Is that a picture of Gigi Hadid on your ceiling?”
Now it was Paxton’s turn to almost flush to an unseemly red color.
“I’ve had that up there forever, just forgot to take it down that’s all.”
“Do you look at it when you, you know?”
“I was just inside you Vishwakumar, I think we’re as intimate as two people can be. You can say the word masturbate.”
“Well, do you?” She pressed, ignoring the way nerves once more fluttered against her stomach. “Do you ever think of me, when you touch yourself?”
“If only you knew.” He murmured against her neck, not wanting to give away just how many nights he spent relieving himself to the memory of their first kiss, or more recently, to their makeout sessions that didn’t just leave her hot and bothered, but him as well. “That was your first time right?”
“Is it that obvious? Should I just have had the word virgin written across my forehead?”
“I think it’s cool that you waited or whatever. Did what was right for you.”
“Why? What was your first time like?” Devi didn’t want to pry, or ask something too personal, but she would be lying if she said she wasn’t curious.
“Um, I think I was 14.”
“14? As in like freshman year of high school?” That was one year younger than her current age, it made bile rise to her throat at the thought.
“Eighth grade. It was the summer before high school and the JV and Varsity swim teams invited us incoming freshmen to a party, to get to know each other and whatnot. It was chaperoned by this one guy’s sister, I think she was 21. Her name was Stacey or Stephanie, something with an S. She brought us all beer and acted cooler than any of our parents at the time.” Devi didn’t say anything, but silently nodded and urged him to continue.
“Anyway, one night like the first week of school, we all get wasted right? Some more than others I guess, because I woke up not remembering anything that happened or even how I got so intoxicated. I was mostly drinking Coke the entire night, with some rum here and there sure, but nothing too extreme. I passed out on the couch and when I woke up, she was on top of me, stroking my hair, touching me, and telling me to stay quiet so we didn’t wake anyone up.”
“I-Is that all?” Her eyes were wide, almost glassy, and Paxton instantly felt years older than her. Like she was too innocent to be hearing this and yet here he was, exposing her to it anyway. Exposing her to the harsh reality that he didn’t want her to know, yet she was already familiar with after what happened to her dad.
“She started whispering in my ear. Tell me how I seemed really mature for my age and how college boys are so rowdy and they didn’t listen to her like I did. I don’t even remember us having any kind of in-depth conversation.” His voice dropped to a low whisper. “She said that it wasn’t cool to go into high school as a virgin, especially if you were a guy. The other guys on the swim team would just turn it into some kind of contest to see who could get laid the fastest. She said I would have a leg up on all of them and be able to show off.”
A bitter chuckle passed through his lips. “Except, I didn’t feel superior or like a man or wanted, I just felt empty.”
“Did you tell anyone?”
“Only Trent.”
Not wanting to sound rude, Devi bit her tongue and remained nonchalant. “Is Trent really the best person to be telling your secrets to?”
“He’s actually cool once you get to know him, okay? He told me that if I wanted to go to the cops and quote ‘make her a prison bitch’ unquote that he would back me up. He may act stoned 90% of the time, but he has a good heart. I trust him with my life.”
“Did um, did you ever see her again?” She asked patiently, as her fingers ran up and down the length of his torso.
“At that point, it didn’t matter. When I got back to school on Monday everyone had heard, turned me into the big man on campus and whatnot, whether I earned the title or not. I wish I had waited, you know? For my first time to be with someone that I really cared about.”
“It’s not your fault.”
“I know I’ve been with other girls before and you know, I’m some ladies man or shit. But that’s all it was you know, just sex. It’s isn’t like that with you.”
“Well if it makes you feel any better, this was better than what I had in mind. It was better than any rom-com or YA novel.”
“This doesn’t mean nothing okay? It would never mean nothing, not with you.”
Devi immediately wanted to correct his use of a double negative, but she refrained. She was speechless, too raw, first from the sex they just had and then hearing Paxton’s story. She was touched that he felt comfortable sharing such a private event with her.
“Would you have done things different? Your first time I mean.” She asked quietly, finding her voice again after letting all the information she had just heard sink in.
“Well I definitely would have waited to do it when I was sober.”
“Everyone deserves a second change, a do-over. And you aren’t drunk or high or impaired in any way right now are you?”
“No.”
“So take your do-over.” Sure she didn’t handle her own trauma in the best manner, but she was surprisingly insistent in helping others overcome their own turmoil. Plus with her big brown eyes, Paxton felt like he was saying no to Bambi.
“Dev-”
“I want you to feel good.” His own words hung in the air between them uttered by her soft voice, only a silent nod of his head and Devi had pressed her lips against his and rolled them over so she was now flush against his chest. “We can go as painfully slow as you want.”
“So now you aren’t in a rush to jump me?” The warmth in his features returned, he seemed to have a genuine smile on his face and was raising an eyebrow at her in slightly amusement.
“Something tells me this won’t be the last time, we’ll get there.”

What if Hop and Marnie got married? How would everyone react? (I kinda see them keeping their relationship a secret)
First things first:
They held the relationship a secret, because they didn't want the media breathing down on them. They already grew up being a target, because of their oldest siblings.
But they didn't tell their siblings either, because a) Leon and Hop do not spend much time together and when they do, they talk about other things (mostly their work) || b) Piers and Marnie are mostly non-verbal when they spend time together (though he did knew that Marnie was really happy when around Hop)
They started dating shortly after the Champion Cup. When people saw them together, they would normally think that they were training together or that Marnie was helping Hop with his studies.
Marnie was actually the one that popped the question, or more the promise of it. Hop was going away for his studies (to Kalos, to find out more about the similarities between the mega evolution and dinamaxing) and she knew that she couldn't just let him leave like that. So she asked him if he wanted to marry her if he came back. He said yes (nearly crying) and got gifted a choker Simliar to hers (what he wore everyday from that day on).
Well, before he came back home, he bought engagement rings and when Marnie was waiting for him at the airport, he did what he wanted to do for the last 2 years. He got onto his knees and asked if she wanted to marry him.
She said yes of course.
It could have been a really beautiful moment, if it wasn't for the fact that marnie wasn't the only one to welcome him back home.
The gym leaders (who he had grown quite close to) and Leon where there and big chaos broke out.
Now the thing you actually asked for. The Reactions of everyone:
Milo:
He was one of the least surprised. It sometimes happens that 'friends' suddenly get married on the country side, so he was mostly just happy for them. Even if they are pretty young, he saw couples younger than them. For him, they are quite the perfect fit. (He and Hop used to spend a lot of time together, just talking about wooloos and stuff and thinking back, Hop always seemed to want to do something for the girl.)
Nessa:
She was really confused, but mostly seriously worried for a moment. It has happened to her, that some people just came up to her and asked them to marry her. Then she remembered that it wasn't just somebody, but Hop. One of the sweetest person she knew. (She and Marnie spent a lot of time together, since Marnie wanted to become a fashion designer and some things seemed to make sense now. Like she would always design clothes that would look good on Hop, or how she sometimes got this far away look when talking about love things).
Bea:
She really didn't care so much about it. She was a bit surprised, but didn't think much about it. (She would often help both of them with training and studying, but she isn't really good with emotions and relationships. So she thought that she just 'overlooked' it)
Allister:
He was shocked and honestly heartbroken. (Hop was one of his first friends and the only one that was able to get him out of hid shell. He has had a crush on him for some time now and seeing that his heart was already with someone? It hurt. But at the same time he wanted to be happy for them)
Kabu:
He was mostly confused and thought that this was maybe the 'young people way of saying Hello after being apart for such a long time?'. (Kabu spent a lot time with them, (before Hop left) and would always make sure that they are alright and healthy. He is sure that they will be happy together, even if their personality is quite different.)
Opal:
She is all knowing and Happy that there will be festivities soon and that everything is so pink around them. Even if the others are destroying it right now. (Whilst she isn't an gym leader an gym leader, she's still in business and makes sure everything is in order. That means checking up on the other gym leaders.)
Bede:
He was suprised, but also a bit pissed, because it was finally confirmed that he was third - wheeling all along. (He has gotten really close to them, after starting therapy and would have loved to help them set things up).
Gordie:
He thought that this was a bit of a weird joke. They are the same age as some of his siblings, so he feels really, really old.
Melony:
She thought that it was really romantic and adorable. She is a sucker for these kind of things. (She has been 'moming' over them since their brothers once brought them to an meeting when they were little. She really feels like a proud mom)
Raihan:
He cried and made a lot of privat pictures. (He sees Marnie and Hop as his little siblings and seeing them happy together made him happy. He also understood why they wanted to keep it a secret, being always in the eye of the media)
Sonja:
She knew, because Professor Sycamore told her that they were ring shopping. She was quite shocked, but couldn't stop laughing after that. The situation was just a bit stupid for her. Then she started to play detective to find out who was Hops beloved, so she wasn't so suprised when it actually happened
Piers:
Piers took it the best. He had his speculations, but didn't think that they where so far in their relationship. But when he saw the choker around Hops hops neck? He knew everything and honestly? He couldn't been happier. Hop was one of the few people he trusted and liked spending time with. Part of himself already thought of Hop as family, so it was a match send by heaven.
Leon:
He felt betrayed and hurt. He still sees Hop as a small child, as his baby brother, so seeing him propose, without telling him hurt. The thought that Hop kept his relationship with Marnie secret was torturous, that Hop wasn't trusting him enough to tell him such an important thing. He knows that their relationship wasn't what he wished it to be, since both of them had so much work to do. But he still thought that Hop would tell him such important things. He wanted to be happy, but he was also hurt.
I hope you like it.
