So I was re-watching the show and I had a thought about the dynamic between Zeus's kids. Ignore if you've answered this before, but how do her siblings feel about Persephone?
I kinda feel like there are parallels to Sally trying to keep Percy away from Olympian drama and Demeter trying to keep Persephone away from Olympian drama, only for both to fail badly. Not to mention that Persephone probably, for a brief period, turned into the kid Zeus paid attention to most, mostly because of how Demeter protested her marriage. I do have the HC that Persephone and Hermes get along the most, due to Hermes being the sibling to visit the Underworld the most, but what do you think? Hades might be a useful ally in a rebellion.
I haven't really thought much about Persephone's dynamic with everyone else🤔
However, I will touch on my thoughts on her relationship with Demeter and Apollo (in the RRverse) because those are the ones I know right off the top of my head.
With Demeter, I don't like the helicopter parent stereotype attributed to her. Contrary to the media's beliefs, Demeter's panic is very sound considering her daughter was. ya know. kidnapped.
it was an arranged marriage! yeah yeah it's still kidnapping, and Persephone screamed for help. it's all there in the Hymn to Demeter.
because of this, Demeter and Persephone had a very loving mother-daughter relationship imo. Demeter also wasn't against Persephone marrying, btw. In the Orphic tradition, Demeter prophesizes that Persephone would marry Apollo, though that never came to pass obviously (I have a silly take on this in a bit sit tight).
Now Apollo :D the fun starts here.
SO. PERSEPHONE'S PLAYMATES WERE ATHENA AND ARTEMIS. Additionally, as mentioned previously, Demeter was like "oh yeah Persephone's gonna marry Apollo one day".
SO I PRESENT-
Apollo & Persephone are BFFs, and Demeter is the mom who sees her daughter has a boy friend and starts shipping them XD
Persephone: MOM WE'RE JUST FRIENDS
Demeter: You look so cute together!
Persephone: MOM YOU'RE SO EMBARRESSING hides face
also! there's another myth that adds on to this headcanon of mine :D
People think Demeter causes winter. She does not - she just stops the plant growth.
Apollo lets winter happen when he takes his vacations to Hyperborea :D
SO I PROPOSE-
Apollo aligned his vacations during the time Persephone is in the Underworld because fuck it if he can't hang with his BFF during this time of year might as well do his vacation instead so he has more time during the spring/summer months with her then!
BACK TO DEMETER BEING A SHIPPER-
Remember this scene in The Last Olympian?
The older lady harrumphed. "I warned you, daughter. This scoundrel Hades is no good. You could've married the god of doctors or the god of lawyers, but noooo. You had to eat the pomegranate."
Apollo is the god of healing. He also hold dominion over law, and played defense attorney for Orestes.
...DEMETER STILL SHIPS PERSEPOLLO TO THIS DAY XD
she presents it to Persephone like she has two options but they're the same person LMAO
I also wanna talk about the whole 'Demeter forbid Apollo from going near her kids' thing too! Because with the context of this^, it makes you wonder why.
...but then you realize that maybe it was because of the above she forbid him from her kids - or more specifically, she forbid him because he didn't marry Persephone XD
So she ships them. But also she's salty she didn't get her favorite nephew for a son-in-law to marry her favorite daughter and therefore banned him from her kids.
Seems counter-productive, but you do you Demeter lmao XD
(and yes, Hades would be a useful ally in a rebellion...hehehehe)

Still thinking about Cromdo, there's a developer interview where they imply that Cromdo was married, and has a kid he can't see anymore. Which puts his stay on Snaktooth in a whole new light. He had literally nothing back home, and he was obsessed with the idea of Success because he thought it would mean that he'd have a legacy of some kind. He ain't young anymore, which means he's starting to think his life wouldn't have amounted to much. Imagine Beffica being the one to break the news to Cromdo's family, what little he has, if he died and having the quietly horrifying revelation that Cromdo's only legacy in the world was a few weeks of being an asshole on an island being hated by a bunch of other assholes he hated right back. And one of those assholes was her. You are so right about Beffica Cromdo parallels you are SO right she's just a younger version of what he turned out to be. So obsessed with getting to that star they trampled on everyone in their way.
Wow I feel even more vindicated but I hate it. Both of them have no real life or connections back at home, a lot of the villagers were missing/lost something but aside from Gramble I think those two are the only ones that are implied to not have anything at all or anyone to return to. Thought it is very interesting to see how they vary in response, but like you said I think it has a lot to do with their differing ages. Beffica is still young so she can live with being flippant, but Cromdo has to accept that loss while also realizing he's getting older and losing everything means he only has so much time to do something about it. That combined with the sheer amount of past failure, no wonder he's so obsessed. How many other options does he have? How many more times can he afford to try and fail before he's a decrepit old man with nothing to his name?
Nonetheless it gives me even more fuel to think about them getting closer. I don't know how old his kid had to be but it'd be interesting to see him pull some dad behavior around Beffica out of habit and while at first she thinks it's funny, she gets curious and thinks about snooping around and finding more...but maybe some things shouldn't be pried into...how long has it been since she's called her parents? Do they have the slightest idea of where she is? Would they even notice if something happened to her?
(She's just like him, and he hates it. That kind of cynicism should be for crusty old farts like him.
How old do they have to be now? Are they around Beffica's age? He wonders if they're anything alike. Maybe he's just projecting onto the first youngun he's been around since everything fell apart. He doesn't want to admit how much he misses being a father, even to himself)

alright, i have slept, i have thought, i have done my normal wednesday stuff. so here it is.
firstly, thank you all the anons who sent me messages. i'm really sorry but i can't reply to them all individually, and many of them are along the same themes anyway, so consider this my reply to all of you. there may be some asks i do reply to separately because they're about a slightly different topic, but on the whole i can't.
i'm not mad anymore. i don't have the mental space, time, or energy to be mad about fiction right now. that being sad, i can't pretend to like this plotline and i am extremely uncomfortable with it. tarlos has always been presented as a strong couple who do have their flaws, yes, and they fight and they fuck up - but overall they have a good, healthy relationship
this has blown that to pieces.
tim says this has been in the work since season 1? well, maybe so. but they didn't lay any groundwork - they even cut that scene with carlos talking about iris in 1.05 - and the way they have developed these characters over the past three years does not match up with carlos being secretly married. i mean, we've also been told that carlos knew as soon as he saw tk in the pilot that he was going to marry him. sure, he thought iris was dead at the time, but that was revealed as wrong before tk and carlos properly began their relationship.
i'm actually fine with the marriage. i can even get past carlos staying married. usamerican healthcare sucks, it was the only way he could help her, fine.
what is upsetting me is that tk didn't know.
and you know what? maybe i do see the point about characterisation, because carlos has been proven to be somebody who doesn't fully think his actions through when it comes to helping the people he loves and he will do things that aren't particularly morally correct. but there is a huge difference between buying the loft and hiding a whole marriage from his literal fiancé.
by the start of s4, tk and carlos have presumably been engaged for several weeks, if not several months (and tim tends to work on a real life timeline so it's probably a safe enough bet that it's been seven months). even if you thought you had over a year to sort the issue out, that is a disgusting amount of time to hide an existing marriage from YOUR FIANCÉ and it's deeply unfair, not only to tk but also to iris.
(mostly to tk though)
there's literally no getting around that he deserved to know from the very beginning of their relationship. or at least from when it started to get properly serious. definitely from when they moved in together and by the time they were engaged......far, far overdue.
so, i guess i lied. i am mad. and i'm mad that tk didn't get to be mad, but after everything.... look, it's hard to parallel between this and the breakup or between this and 3.13 because they're all very different situations. so all i'm going to say is that tk has shouldered the blame (from both fandom and show) for basically everything, and carlos has been allowed to be angry and passive aggressive - in 3.13 it was even played off as comedic which honestly boils my blood because i've been in that situation on tk's side and, believe me, it's not fun.
i don't want tk to yell at carlos. i don't want another blow up. all i want is for tk to get to say - what you've done has hurt me deeply and i need some time to think. we will get through this and i know your heart was in (more or less) the right place, but you have fucked up and this does change things between us.
i will keep watching the show; i know i said i might quit should this happen but that was when i was sure it wouldn't. i'm in too deep to quit, we all know that. we'll see how they handle this. but it has certainly changed how i view carlos and the tarlos relationship, because now we have to look back over three full seasons, knowing carlos was lying to tk the entire time

These are my unprompted ideas for Tweek and Craig centric episodes of South Park:
1. Tweek and Craig offer couples counseling to other kids at recess.
- would definitely be more of a subplot but I can totally see Stan going to them for help with Wendy
- imagine them both dressed up in button up shirts and little ties, and reading glasses, like therapists
- also had an idea where Stan goes to them because the asian girls decided to draw yaoi of him and Kyle, and he's asking them what he should do about it.
- "Here's the thing Stan. The Asian girls don't draw Yaoi of just anyone. The Asian girls observe, and draw couples, not to make you gay, but because...they can already tell that you are..." - Craig
- i just know it wouldn't ever be canon so maybe someone should write a fanfic or something
- just people going to Tweek and Craig for romance advice, even adults
2. Tweek and Craig get married
- The whole idea is that they're kids, and you know how kids will just randomly have fake weddings on the playground at recess? it's like that
- it starts at lunch, as per usual, Cartman, Stan, Kyle, Kenny, Butters, Clyde, Tolkien, Jimmy, all sitting together, and Tweek and Craig just randomly walk up and invite them to their wedding
- it's very impromptu, it's literally happening right after the lunch period they're in currently, so everyone's a little surprised.
- so they all go outside and all the children gather around, Jimmy is the officiant (which, you can imagine how well that's going) Tweek and Craig are holding hands with everyone, and they're using RingPops as wedding rings.
- I think it would be really cool to make it kinda parallel to the Tweek vs. Craig season 3 episode ("so, what do we do?" "just smack each other around" "i've never been in a fight before" "awh ok postpone the fight so they can learn how to fight") ("so what do we do?" "you're supposed to kiss" "we've never actually kissed each other before" "awh ok postpone the wedding so they can learn how to kiss")
- "what about when we played super heroes and you guys' ultimate move was literally kissing" -stan
"it was pretend, we were faking." -Craig
- afterwards, the town gets wind of the wedding, and of course, since Tweek and Craig are the pride (no pun intended) of South Park, they decide that it should be more formal, they should wear suits and exchange proper vows and stuff
- meanwhile, Craig's friends are all sucking up to him to try and be the his best man, (they interrupt while Craig and Tweek are very awkwardly trying to learn how to kiss)
- this is an edit but i forgot to mention that Tweek is a total bridezilla and he's freaking out about every little detail
-eventually they actually hold a cute little wedding, not legal, just for funsies, and the whole town attends (Craig tells his friends that none of them can be his best man) They decorate the place with a bunch of Tweek x Craig yaoi art
-Craig has beautiful vows. "I never would've thought that the kid I'd have my first fight with on the playground, would turn out to be my future husband" "When the asian girls first started drawing yaoi of us, it felt like the worst week of my life, but now i think it's probably the best thing that's ever happened to me"
- Tweek's vows were also very well written, but due to nerves, all he could say was "WAAAAH"
- The whole town had a party, they ate cake and Clyde cried, Cartman probably slow danced with "Cupid Me"
- bonus idea, that Tweek's fucking parents come up to him during the reception and tell him that "now that you're married you're supposed to go on your honeymoon and consummate your marriage" because you know Tweek's dad is fucking horrid
- Tweek freaks out, Craig had a plan ahead of time for this and setup the most awesome sexless gamer heaven for their honeymoon
- they spend the next week and a half in Craig's room playing video games and hanging out together for their "honeymoon" and Tweek is finally able to recite his actual vows privately for craig
- and this is why in Post Covid they aren't legally married with rings, because they consider the little stupid wedding they planned as children to be their actual wedding
3. Bradley from S11 E2 (where Butter's goes to conversion therapy) moves to South Park (this one is probably the most developed idea)
- except that this time, he's not the same bible verse-reciting anxious kid from before, and he's completely confident in his sexuality now
- he immediately becomes friends with Butters again, who has to tell him that he's not actually bi (when Bradley immediately flirts with him), and tells him that "the only gay kids in south park are Tweek and Craig!"
- Bradley then takes a liking to Craig, and starts to hit on him, not knowing that Craig is taken, saying stuff about how "Mysterious" Craig is, and how that's attractive
- before Craig has the chance to tell him to fuck off, Tweek is already behind him, going off on Bradley telling him to "stay away from my Craig"
- Craig likes Tweek standing up for him, so he doesn't actually do anything to stop Tweek and may even sneakily instigate some of his anger just so he can watch his boyfriend fight for him
- subplot, Bradley actually moved into Stan's old house. This freaks Stan out because, as we all know, Stan hates living at Tegrity Farms, and now that his old house has sold, he feels there's no hope of him ever moving back in next to his best friends anymore.
- He turns to the only friend he knows who is crazy enough to drive someone out of town: Cartman.
- Stan and Cartman attempt to gather up more people who are interested in Getting rid of Bradley, but the only other person willing to help is Clyde. ("That Bradley kid said that Craig is the cutest boy in the school. That's not true because everyone knows that I'm the cutest! The girls said so!")
-Tweek is busy working on his own plans, and doesn't know that Stan and Cartman are planning anything
- Cut to a sleepover at Bebe's house, all the main girls are there talking about their crushes and boyfriends, and Wendy brings up how Stan is really concerned about "that Bradley kid" moving into his old house.
- pivot to Tweek, also at the girls' slumber party, hair pulled back with a headband with bunny ears and a mint colored face mask on. This man is fuming, twitching like he does and going off about how "i'm gonna fucking kill him"
- eventually there's a scene outside of Bradley's house, where Stan, Cartman and Clyde were all about to execute whatever plan they came up with to get rid of Bradley, but before they can start, an extremely violent Tweek is speed walking down the street clenching his jaw, with his trusty boxing gloves over his hands.
- Tweek beats the crap out of Bradley and Craig ends up having to break it up, deciding that he's let it go on long enough. Bradley's family does, in fact, move out of Stan's old house
if you have other ideas i'd love to know or I might post my non-creek centric episode ideas if this does well

Seelie Guizhong. Crack theory but also like. not really?
Right, okay. So ya'll have heard of the "Descender Zhongli" theories, right?
So. The gist is that this theory states that Zhongli might've remembered Rukkhadevata, therefore he might potentially be one of the four(?) descenders that came to Teyvat. This is supported by his Character story 5 voiceline (According to WEi on youtube, check out the video) never changing the number 2. But, of course, other possible evidence include the fact that we don't know his actual age, and he was actually never mentioned to be born 6k years ago, just (and I literally quote,) Descended. His burst is a meteor. might make another deep dive into this theory sometime.
What do we know about Guizhong? She sings a lot, mentioned several times. she made the cleansing bell, which is like. robot music???? idk maybe Guizhong invented techno or something. Her favourite flower is the glaze lily, which reacts positively to singing- she sings to the flowers often. The point is that She is girlboss, first of all, and she is musically inclined.
Why is this relevant? Because we know the seelie are also musically inclined. One might argue that being musically inclined is not special, to which I say: every music-related deity we've met in genshin has been sus. Istaroth, Nabu Malikata, sus. Venti is related to istaroth, sus is a given.
Seelie were known to be wise, and guided humanity, something Guizhong preached. Other than that, nabu malikata was possibly a seelie, according to the Aranara, she was a survivor, implying that yes, survivors exist. Guizhong might've been one. Nabu malikata was also known as the "goddess of flowers", and the story is that paradisarahs went extinct when she died. Note that Paradisarah lore holds many, many parallels to Glaze Lily lore, although glaze lilies didn't actually go extinct courtesy of zhongli and the adepti. GoF and Deshret lore actually holds quite a number of parallels with Guizhong and Zhongli. We do not know guizhong's origins, either.
So- how does this tie in to descender!Zhongli?
Seelie lore states that a long time ago, a Seelie married a traveler from afar. days after, disaster struck- the tried to flee but it caught up with them. They were punished by being separated and their memories wiped. In the game, MC is referred to as Traveler. MC is an outlander, a descender. therefore, descenders may be referred to as travelers.
Zhongli might have been this Traveler, and Guizhong the seelie he married.
A long time ago, they might have been separated and had their memories wiped. This is not impossible for descenders, because such a thing happened to MC, where they are unaffected by irminsul, but a celestial might be able to mess with their memories. If this is the case, then having their memories wiped might've even be a precedent for Guizhong to create the memory of dust. If they lost their memories, it would make sense that Zhongli would only remember their first meeting way after the seelie fell- then again we never did know when exactly did they meet so there's that.
And (getting into major crack theory stuff here) it might even explain the mysterious circumstances of Guizhong's death... If they were never supposed to meet again, death was to separate them eternally. Or, the mere fact that she might be a seelie race survivor could have painted her as a target.
Here's a detail I noticed. Mondstadt, Liyue, and Ay-Khanoum are all named after the moon. They're the only cities with this, as far as we know. Ay-Khanoum translates to moon maiden. Mondstadt is german for Moon City. Liyue literally means Glazed Moon, or Jade Moon, using the 玉 (jade) in Liyue's Li 璃.
But anyway. thoughts?

Please, give us some more headcanons for the persuasion au!!
Okay, so let me use this to give a bit of a brief recap of how I see it going, from the moment they meet etc. Some will be old news, but some will be decidedly not:
First off, it's been six years since the private engagement was broken off. I think it's eight years in Persuasion, but I'm sure you can see why I'd change it. Aemon died a few months prior to the reunion. Baelon has been installed as Heir to the Iron Throne, despite common thought prior to that being that Rhaenys would follow her father. She was passed over; dismissed. So when Corlys and Rhaenys reunite, he has experienced an elevation in status, she a diminishment - though, of course, as a Princess, she is still classed higher than he is so the feeling of social imbalance that tore them apart in the first place is still very much there. It also means that Rhaenys has been surrounded by eyes on her ever since her father's death, and finds it increasingly hard to let her walls down. This will be no different with Corlys, to begin with.
Corlys comes home to a massive welcome. Like, a full-on, monumental entrance, with many gifts to present to the King and it's all a bit show-off and ostentatious. He's kind of giving a massive middle finger to the royal family that rejected him all those years ago, and wants everyone to know how well he has done. His purpose is to bend the knee to the King and take his place as Lord Velaryon (something that was in a bit of limbo bc when Daemon passed, Corlys was at sea). Etc. Etc.
Rhaenys knows NOTHING about Corlys coming to court until he's announced. She goes to that feast just knowing that it's for The Sea Snake, and only puts two-and-two together about The Sea Snake = Lord Velaryon = Corlys, when the bloody announcement is being made. They meet. It's cordial. It's formal. No more. She has the advantage of being at the High Table; watches and considers him all night. He ignores her.
All the court think both of them are getting ready to get married to others. Or, I should say, are looking for marriage. For Corlys, it's because the next part of cementing his legacy would be to produce heirs. For Rhaenys, it's a rumour that the King wants to circulate, so Rhaenys cannot become a potential political headache and be seen as a legitimate option against his chosen heir now. He's this close to organising a marriage tour of all the Kingdoms just to get her a husband and farm her away from Court. It'll take a while for Corlys to see that. When he does, he's furious, but immoved. He knows what his Rhaenys would have thought about it, six years ago. But he has barely spoken to this Rhaenys. And she entertains it all with a smile.
The first drop of formality: a tiny, minuscule moment. One Corlys starts, and sort of regrets as soon as. He calls her Rhaenys. Offers condolences about her father. She doesn't drop her guard. Walks away. He watches, then chides himself. As soon as he's not looking, she glances back. They're both flustered by the encounter.
At some point, they will be sat together at a tourney. Cue small talk. And a discussion about affection when they oversee a knight ask for a lady's favour etc etc. Not fleshed that out yet, just seemed like a cool parallel to the show.
Maybe Corlys leaves for a little while? Just to see to some things at Driftmark. Time apart for them both to consider feelings. That they miss one another. Him being on her mind as she goes to Meleys to clear her head, only to have had it timed with his ship leaving.
Maybe, instead of Mr Elliot, the perception by all is that Viserys seeks to make Rhaenys his wife, in order to placate the Baratheons etc etc. In reality, it is no more than friendship and a desire for company. But for Corlys, it's the worst thing because Viserys is something he will never be: a Targaryen. So he feels threatened by it and keeps his feelings to himself. He befriends... maybe Aemma? As she's very nice and honest, which he appreciates, and he can keep close to royal gossip. However, Rhaenys feels the threat at that. But also befuddlement because Corlys could never love Aemma... surely?

Hello! I am currently working on a modern au and I thought you might want to hear about it!
Not sure if all end up writing it but here are the basics
Whitestone is a city in Canada and the main setting. The setting has low magic.
Percy's family is really rich but not Noble.
The briarwoods were a church pastor couple at the church the de rollos went to that befriended them and then murdered them after forging their will to put everything in their names.
They scared Cassandra into silence so she wouldn't snitch to the cops.
After the briarwoods are defeated through a legal battle Vox machina moves in to a seven bedroom penthouse that was meant for Julius after he got married. Cassandra lives in the old family home.
Percy works as a airport mechanic
Vex is a park ranger at the suntree National Forest
Trinket is a Newfoundland dog
Pike is a med student
Vax is a locksmith
Grog is a construction worker
Keyleth works in the botany collections at the local museum
scanlan has an onlyfans
Cassandra is a law student and works at Barnes & Noble part-time for experience
Gilmore is the owner of a department store and met vax when he accidentally locked himself out of the department store and had to call a locksmith.
Ships are Percy/vex, scanlan/Pike, and Gilmore/vax and maybe Gilmore/vax/keyleth
oh hello!!! i love that this has started a string of headcanons being thrown at me, this is wonderful actually. if anyone else wants to do so, please feel free!!! i love hearing about ideas :)
ANYWAY ANYWAY i LOVE the concept of the briarwoods as these like. well i'm reading it as they are the couple that acts so pious and so neighborly (for context: i grew up going to a southern christian church) when they're actually The Worst, and using that cover to get away with doing Shady Shit. people usually make them just corrupt businessmen which also works, but there are other corrupt systems for them to manipulate - and this kinda parallels how they basically started a cult in canon fjnkrjgnkr
vax as a locksmith is snagging my attention tbh!! that's super cool!!! it also has the potential for an Angsty Setup, or even just an intriguing setup, with vax dancing around the law and somehow making a job out of it. or even using the job as a cover. but that's me spitballing lol
vex as a park ranger is also so !!! i'm just picturing her out in the woods with all these leaves in her hair, looking just a LITTLE bit wild but very happy about it. park rangers (in the US at least, and based off of quick google searches) don't tend to have the best salaries, so it wouldn't work in a lot of modern AUs (vex is Very aware of finances and wants to keep everyone afloat and fed, wants to keep the lights on, so i can't see her taking a self-indulgent job over higher-paying opportunities), but if they have this inheritance in this AU, then i could definitely see her taking a job as a ranger.
VAX AND GIL AS THE "OOPS I LOCKED MYSELF OUT OF MY SHOP" IS SO CUTE!! and it's made even better by the fact that you know, despite gilmore having actively locked himself out, vax would be the more awkward of the two. he's a mess <3 ALSO ALSO i will Politely encourage you towards vax/gil/kiki, simply because i think vax deserves a boyfriend AND a girlfriend to hold his hands <3
this au gives me very comfy and wholesome vibes (once the briarwoods are yeeted from the picture) <33 thank you for sharing it with me!!

Do you have any thoughts on why some of the fleeting love interests (like sienna and Theo) are from working classes and considered unmarriageable by the ton for people like the bridgertons?
I have a lot of thoughts about this yeah. But if you are a Theloise shipper skip this post. As well as all santhony shippers. This explanation is not for you. I'm in mobile today and don't have the read more button
So back to my answer, the problem, it's not that some love interest are considered unmarriageable because they're from the working class. The problem is that the Bridgertons ultimately aren't willing to make the sacrifices required to wholeheartedly marry someone of the working class.
Let me start with pointing out that Sienna's relationship with Anthony was primarily transactional as in. Her source of income was tied to Anthony's satisfaction in the relationship which ultimately meant that for all of Anthony's good intentions. The relationship was meant to fail. Because of that reason alone.
Interesting that you brought Theo into this because until you mentioned it, I hadn't noticed the parallel between Anthony escaping the ton and his family responsibilities to be with Sienna in the middle of something as important as his sisters debut. And Eloise doing the same with Theo during Anthony's wedding
Both relationships were doomed to fail not because one was nobility and the other working class. But rather because Anthony and Eloise saw Sienna and Theo as 'an escape from the annoyances of real life' and not as actual equals.
For example take Benedict's affair with Genevieve. In s2 Gen is rightfully worried of how being seen with Benedict may affect her business and they part on decent terms. Benedict never treated Gen as a commodity but rather recognized that they both had different paths in life. Or at least that Genevieve knew already what she wanted to do with hers and he wasn't the same. And this had only 10% to do with their class difference and 90% to do with them as people not being right for each other
The problem with Sienna and Theo is the fact that Anthony and Eloise saw them both as a convenient way to escape their responsibility with the ton. Was there love? Maybe, but it was too tied up with the power imbalance of Anthony and Eloise being able to leave the relationship without suffering much loss or difficulty, because they as nobility can do that. While Sienna and Theo livelihood and sources of income would be put in jeopardy if a scandal broke out. And when Eloise and Anthony fail to recognize that as opposed to the way Benedict did, then you get why the relationships didn't work out
Again, ask Anthony anything about Sienna, what she likes, does she have a family, what's her favorite thing to do?. Sienna exists in Anthony's life in proportion to how she can fill his needs and because of the power imbalance, Anthony never feels obligated to reciprocate.
Which is different from his relationship with Kate. Where Kate's needs become gradually more important to Anthony in the course of him falling inlove. And he recognized her as his intellectual and emotional equal since their first interaction
Eloise with Theo may not have the same power imbalance as Anthony had with Sienna but you can't deny that Eloise only cares about Theo in proportion to how her needs are being met. And pays very little attention to him as an individual outside of how he serves to make her feel better about what she thinks of herself.
Eloise may like Theo but at the end of the day, she neither treats him as an equal (honestly I'm not sure Eloise even knows how to treat anyone as an equal) or considers it necessary to fill his needs, the way a person would in a healthy relationship.
If she'd gotten to know Theo more, maybe heard about his life or met his friends or simply gotten involved in a part of his life that didn't directly satisfy her own personal interest then maybe they could have worked out but that was not the case
And about the class difference, I've said it in a previous post I'll say it again.
During ye olden days nobility and gentry, had to marry someone with either a title, money or enough social connections to make up for the lack of the other two. For a very obvious reason. Which is to sustain the lifestyle they're used to. A person who married someone from the working class or lower, gave the message that should the the couple ever fell into hard times, they had neither their spouse's dowry, family connections or estate, as a backup plan, which would leave them to rely on the charity of well meaning friends and family.
Hence, the ton shunning and not sending them invitations to balls or greeting them in the street. Since further association with the couple would bring no tangible benefit for the future, neither social, economical or even political.
I'm not saying this would make someone from the working class look unmarriageable, but it would be a factor in the couple's power imbalance that we don't talk about
And that's the tea

I respect that you didn't intend to have Rhea as a hypocrite. And I've tried to understand and it and I not saying she is a complete hypocrite or anything but I do see why she can come of as that.
There are some ways her situations is similar to r/l and there are different but there are parallels all the same. Parallels don't have to be exact and I thing that's where most people are getting the idea from?
She and lyanna ran away to marry the man they love both abandoning their "duties" as ladies of noble house. Now there are differences for sure but the motive remain the same. They ran away to marry for love. (Side note I saw someone comment that R was a man of prophecy and therefore Elia if unable to give him another child was allowed to marry and I just want to make it clear I do not stand with that statement. Elia is more than her womb and has provided two healthy children one of them is a male which is good by the realm standard since they're sexist but and way R was no "man of prophecy" what did he did exactly? Tear the realm apart? Insult his wife and children, let civilians suffer under his father's rule till he was forced to step out and even then the peace was being held by a string by the starks that bent the knee? Like what prophecy was he fulfilling? There is no Nk etc?)
And I think people think of her poorly because, she says she doesn't blame Jon for what his mother had done but she still looks down on him and feels threatened by him because of something he can't control. The schemes and whispers of others. Which is fine she is allowed to be paranoid and be spiteful since she clearly idolize her mother. To me that makes her more realistic.
Additionally she seems to blatantly ignore that house stark lost a lot and also was insulted by house trag. I can get her scorn for Lyanna but the hatred for starks when they too lost and have forgiven the lost of Ned stark brother and father caused by her grandfather. And he never met his nephew or sister again after the wars. And she sees no issue in that. Seeming to see it as a fitting punishment even. Which I enjoy since I'm hella petty and would probs be the same to someone who hurt my mother even if logically I know it's not completely their fault the human heart is not so easily convinced which is why I liked that she can be petty and hold her grievances since it's very rare that a person can be that forgiving. And I think this also highlights the difference between Sansa and Rhea really well. Sansa who is more mindful of the thoughts and effort of others as someone who was raised by a loving family and Rhea who was raised to believe by her trag family that she is above others and in the court of politics is untrusting. Given that her fam is pretty toxic it's no wonder she will point at others asides from her family. Her family is all she has in the court of snakes so could you blame her for being blind to some of their faults? For defending her family, maybe it's a trauma response or maybe it's the environment that forced her to placed her family above all else like her the starks put the pack first. Anyways my ask is spiraling and I bet most don't make sense since I'm still learning English as well. But I can't blame some readers for seeing the unintentional hypocrisy in this chapter although whether or not that changes as the story unfold remains to be seen since this is just her first chapter and we're only a couple chapters in. 😂 Look what you've done, you got people so emotional over your writing that they're making parallel and headcanons about them truly as skilled writer to invoke such a response from your readers
This actually made me feel much better, thank you nonny 😊 I hadn’t thought about it that way, and I do feel very much appreciated both for this sweet message and the fact, as you pointed out, that have invoked such a response from the readers.
Thank you, here’s to me giggling away after you put a smile on my face!
Tumblr media
Also don’t worry about your English, I am not a native speaker and I know how confidence it takes to share a comment or say their own when one not yet sure about their language skills and makes me appreciate you and this message all the more — PS the message was perfectly understandable. So good for you! Good job! ❤️
Also, I am not denying the parallels, I am saying that all things considered it’s human that Rhaenys would not see the similarities as the circumstances and effects are much different. We as readers we have a better outlook to the whole picture and it doesn’t mean Rhaenys is an hypocrite that she doesn’t have the same big picture, because she’s not an outsider, she’s an insider. This is why I think it would be okay to point out the parallel us, as outsider can appreciate, and still don’t think an insider character should be held accountable of things she has no way to know.
That’s why I think describing her as hypocrite in my opinion is a bit too much. Especially because as a lawyer and training judge I know circumstances make the difference and the devil is in the detail. We can stay here and discuss the single detail it still doesn’t change that we can’t know for certain if Rhaenys would’ve done the same as Rhaegar and Lyanna did put in the same circumstances. Indeed we can almost guarantee that she would not, since she has idolised and is so protective of her mother, and it is improbable she would repeat the same behaviour that caused all of that, especially considering how she worries for her people and doesn’t take their loyalty for granted and actually takes care of them.
The parallels are there, but instead of being a parallel I think of Rhaenys more as a foil confronted both to R and L as well as E.
She’s not as not considering of duty as Rhaegar and Lyanna were and not as kind and over generous as Elia remained until her death.
Plus, she’s not guilt-tripping Jon about what the courtiers think, you all seem to assume that Jon did nothing to show interest in the Iron throne and I wonder what gave you the idea. Everything from Tyrion commenting on Jon’ stint in the black cells — we know Lyanna’ side, her son is innocent; we don’t know what actually happen and Jon is the same Jon who in canon said at a little younger age he would be lord of Winterfell and he himself admits he was ferocious at that time without minding the circumstances — and of how everyone has seen how skilled he is and that Jon shone despite his birth when Rhaegar pit him and Aegon against one another, to Jon himself saying in the summary he always hungered for the chance to have Aegon’s life and possibilities would lead us to believe that not everything as as easy as meets the eye. It is explicitly said that until the dragon were born and after Jon’ stint in the black cells Rhaegar showed much interest in Jon and that Jon proved his worth and that only the fact that no dragon bonded to Jon made the interest in him diminish somewhat.
So I ask again, all the evidence we have until now (from several POV) points in the direction that Jon might have been somewhat responsible about the fact that people keep considering him an alternative as he posed himself as such; thus who is to say Jon did nothing that would warrant Rhaenys’ distrust in his motives? And, as you said, it’s realistic that Rhaenys would be biased about Lyanna and Jon.
Is she right about them 100%? No. But she is entitled to think what she thinks without that making her an hypocrite, or a bad person.
Also I don’t stand by Rhaegar had reasons because prophecy in canon, let alone in this AU were there no WW e no NK. He humiliated and put in danger not only himself but also Elia, Lyanna, Aegon, Rhaenys and Jon with his behaviour.
On the top of that if you consider that Aegon seems to have idolised Rhaegar because he brought peace to the Realm and won the war, Rhaenys seems to have done the same for Elia and may feel like she’s the only one who defended her mother in the Targaryen family, as a woman myself, who literally took out a chunk of a boy’s hair because he called me “son of a bitch”, I emphasise with that and thinks it makes her behaviour much more tridimensional and realistic, and not hypocritical.
She doesn’t ignore the abuse House Stark suffered through, but as a member of House Targaryen who has lived clearly in a toxic environment she is lead to believe they are better than any other House, additionally Rhaenys felt the burn of Aerys’ hate almost as much as House Stark did, she isn’t ignoring what Aerys did to them, but since she’s defensive of her mother and brother — who she feels is too trusting in the name of peace — she is clearly suspicious of House Stark’ motives and we as readers know she’s not off mark there, because House Stark is not being honest with them and is using their cultural differences to ensure they will get independence instead of the peace of the realm Aegon is advocating for. It is human that she is petty and defensive of her family with all that happened, i don’t deny it. I characterised her especially that way.
And I agree with all the rest you analysed about the differences between Sansa and Rhae especially considering that I always said that the Starks have an enormous advantage to the others even in canon they were raised in a loving house by Ned Stark and that’s hella of an advantage, plus they have inherited Catelyn/Lyanna’ ferocity.
So above all I adore you analysation of Rhaenys as a character and I agree with almost everything beyond the parallel/foils matters on which I believe Rhaenys to be more of a positive foil against R and L and a neutral to negative foil against Elia.
And again thank you, I appreciate this message more than I can say, and it made me feel very seen and appreciated so thank you, lovely anon!

I like that we're seeing a petty, asshole-ish side of Carlos. He needs to have flaws. I just don't like that we're probably not going to see a resolution to it. TK was clearly beat up (emotionally) by both himself and Carlos in 4x03 in order to up the drama, like you said. But there is no way it's going to be addressed in 4x04. There just won't be time. They're gonna show Carlos's ordeal, TK finding him, and then an emotional reunion. And then we move on to Marjan's and Grace's storylines in 4x05. And then we're probably not gonna see much of Tarlos until we get them happily planning their wedding (possibly with some lingering health concerns for Carlos). Like every single time TK and Carlos have fought or had problems, Carlos's actions will be swept under the rug. Idk maybe I'm wrong, but this is my prediction based on 1) the amount of story left to tell and the amount of time left to tell it, and 2) the track record of the show's treatment of TK and Carlos. And it's kind of depressing.
I totally get that. I felt the same way about how they totally romanticized Carlos buying the loft as a “surprise”. I also agree that we won’t get an on-screen resolution to the attitudes/treatment, at least not in 4x04. I totally agreed with TK that it was a power move, however well intentioned it had been, it was a power move (which I have thoughts on too – especially in light of him being legally married at that time).
I think that there is a possibility of Carlos saying something to someone other than TK about it, or maybe a reference at some point by the 4x08 “Control Freaks” episode. Similar to how TK worked through the break up (well blaming himself for it only) in his coma dream – I think we will get Carlos admitting his mistakes to Andrea or someone like that. I could be wrong – but this show LOVES it’s parallels, and that would be a good one.
It sometimes takes me several rewatches of scenes before I can truly appreciate them. I love 3x13 – it is a beautiful episode that truly showcases their love and growth, but some of the scenes were harder to watch for me at first – we just hurt for both of them, because we care about them. But, after doing my analysis, picking the episodes apart piece by piece, truly dig into the characters and their motivations, then I truly enjoy them.
That is how I was Tuesday night watching 4x03. I knew going into it that it would be rough. And it was. But I have watched it several times now, I appreciate each scene for what they are – more pieces to this big puzzle that is Carlos Reyes.
The hard part about loving these guys so fucking much, is that we want to see EVERYTHING, but they can only give us glimpses of their life with the occasional larger treat – but like Ronen has been saying there is way more Tarlos this season than ever before, so maybe we will both be surprised and get something on screen – but if not, then I know that myself and a bunch of other writers will be filling in the gaps with all the fics we can dream up.
I wish the show didn’t put so much of the blame for pretty much everything on TK, but another show I am a huge fan of, did the same thing with one of their main characters for 7 seasons – it didn’t matter who else participated in them, who else helped make the choices – this one character took like 94% of the blame for every decision made. It was maddening, there were never any good choices, so all decisions kinda sucked & had shitty consequences.  I have just accepted that TK is that character for this show, as frustrating as it can be. At least we have Ronen to portray him as wonderfully as he does.

I thought the point of Gwindor bringing up Finduilas as standing between Túrin and his doom was just that if Túrin marries Finduilas then he can't later marry Níniel, thus avoiding one of the worst results of the curse.
Possibly! But I think it's more than just avoiding the worst case scenario, I think it's actively the best case scenario
The reason I'm so very attached to it is specifically this
‘A Man you seem in stature, and indeed more than many already,’ Thingol answered; ‘but nonetheless you have not come to the fullness of your manhood that shall be. Until that is achieved, you should be patient, testing and training your strength. Then, maybe, you can remember your kin; but there is little hope that one Man alone can do more against the Dark Lord than to aid the Elf-lords in their defence, as long as that may last.’
Then Túrin said: ‘Beren my kinsman did more.’ ‘Beren, and Lúthien,’ said Melian. ‘But you are over-bold to speak so to the father of Lúthien. Not so high is your destiny, I think, Túrin son of Morwen, though greatness is in you, and your fate is twined with that of the Elven-folk, for good or for ill. Beware of yourself, lest it be ill.’
Nellas and Finduilas also both remark on the similarities between Turin and Beren, with Nellas saying not everybody would be able to see it. Which makes me think Finduilas is genuinely onto something, rather than just... wishfully thinking of a man who married an elf.
Anyway, before Luthien, Beren is fighting Morgoth in a way not too dissimilar to Turin. Besides, in terms of inheriting broken houses, Beren and Turin are pretty much the same, though of course with the houses of Beor and Hador respectively. There's a parallel there.
Now, I'm not suggesting Turin would personally walk into Angband and live, and Melian straight up says that's not his fate, but I do think he might've been able to accomplish more if he had Finduilas. Of course, Finduilas isn't half-Maia either, so there's also that to account for. But in my mind (and I'm fully aware that I may be wrong) there seems to be something going on here beyond just making Turin unavailable for Nienor.
Now, I don't actually like Turin and Finduilas marrying, because I much prefer them as friends, but historically, men who marry up in Tolkien (assuming Finduilas counts as "up" which Tolkien would probably say she does) tend to have a better shot at life than even men who marry non-sister wives of the save social standing.
I think Turin's fate as it is is twined with that of the Elven-folk very much for ill, but perhaps the thing Tolkien might've been trying to get at is that if he married Finduilas, it'd be for good. How? I don't know. Like I said, it doesn't even appeal to me (give me BROTPs or give me death), but if I'm just following the patterns Tolkien's stories seem to follow, that does seem to be a strong possibility? Maybe even just... Continuing the Hadorian bloodline, Peredhel version, which of course Tuor also does, but maybe since the Hadorians are the First House they're supposed to have more Peredhil than the Beorians? Or maybe it's about having Arafinwean Peredhil running around? I don't know, but it feels significant (but full disclaimer, I haven't read this book in a decade, so I'm going off my impressions from when I'd read it, so I may be saying nonsense here)

001 for Sonic the Hedgehog, 003 for Chris Thorndyke, 002 for SonElise
001 Fandom Sonic
My favorite character is Tikal
My least favorite is Mephiles
5 Favorite ships: antoine x bunny, sallicole, khanally, Sonudis (sonic x @crusherthedoctor 's fancharacters Trudy) & Tom x Maddie
Character i find most attractive: Shadow
Character I would marry:
Character I would be best friends with: Rouge
A random thought: why aren't there any aquatic anthros :(
Unpopular Opinion: Marine > Sticks
Canon OTP: Khanally
Noncanon OTP: Sonic x Lani (my OC)
Most badass character: Too many to count but a quick shoutout to KNUCKLES
Most Epic Villain: EGGMAN OF COURSE I love how his inventions span from servants like Orbot to fucking GUNDAMS movie Eggman especially for actually having him be the main threat instead of getting Upstaged or written OOC "Eggdad"
Pairing I am not a fan of: Sonally, made them both OOC, too soap-opera for my tastes and personality clashes
Character i feel the writers screw up: Elise, could've gotten a badass equivalent to a disney princess (though they're already badass) instead we get a poorly thought out Self insert
Favorite friendship: Shadow and Rouge, Amy and that little bird. Also Blaze and Marine
Character i most identify with: Big the cat I just be minding my own business but get dragged into sum bullshit anyways 😫
Character I wish I could be: blaze because she's rich duh also fire is my birth element
002 Sonelise
When I started shipping them: a couple of years ago after seeing cute fanart. But coming across @solarhood 's blog really increased my liking for the pair.
My thoughts: Gets way too much hate, i see it has lots of potential in fanfics, it is not and never was bestiality, and it can be a good romance or a good friendship. Plus Amy isn't unfairly demonized.
What makes me happy about them: their interactions were so sweet, especially the scene in the meadows.
What makes me sad about them: that they had to give up their memories :(
Things done in fanfic that annoy me: when people try to improve Elise by making her a Blaze Clone. Or turning her into a hedgehog just to make her ship with sonic more "palatable" listen Elise can still be badass without being turned into another Blaze/Sally copy
Things I look for in fanfic: again better characterizing that isn't turning Elise into Xena, also amy not being demonized for melodrama. Sonic & Elise more time together (with in character Sonic)
My Wishlist: that elise comes back with a new design that (let 👏 her 👏 wear 👏 different clothes!!) & reuniting with Sonic
Who I'd be comfortable them ending up with if not each other: with Sonic I don't mind him with Amy or a new character. With Elise, Surprisingly KNUCKLES. Both were isolated and had to spend their childhood into roles they didn't ask for so the parallels are already there. Difference is Elise can help Knuckles be comfortable around girls without overstepping his boundaries, and he can help her learn to master her power and be more open with her emotions even especially the negative ones.
My happily ever after: Sonic and Elise somehow recovering their full memories and becoming friends again. Elise decides to travel the world with him not just for personal pleasure but to instill alliances and gain more life experience
003 alright last one and it's *uighh* chris....thorndyke 😒😒😒
How I feel about this character: TERRIBLE he's the reason why I made Noelani in the first place!! Unnecessary audience surrogate who didn't even do a good job in the role he was that hateable!
Any/all people i ship romantically with this character: the only person I ship him with is with a therapist!!
My favorite non-romantic relationship for this character: Okay maybe his relationship with his servants were a little sweet then again not surprised if they forced to act like that because he signs their paychecks
My unpopular opinion about this character: he isn't the worse creator's pet I know he wasn't as awful as Kicker from Energon or Light Yagami
One thing I wished. Would happen/had happened with this character in canon: That he faced some actual damn consequences especially in the last episode of s2! Ground that boy! Don't just let him get away with dooming two planets!
Favorite friendship for this character: Surprisingly him and Tails, too bad it wasn't enough to salvage him
My crossover ship: him and Adrien would make great friends and that's not a compliment

hello! thank you for all of your meta posts, they're honestly so fun to read after having watched the episodes, especially since i have no one to talk about 911 with! it almost feels like i'm discussing the episodes with someone in person and you have a very keen eye for details and parallels! so thank you! i hope this is ok to ask, but I wanted to know your predictions for eddie's storyline in the next episode. i read this post the other day https://andorskirk.tumblr.com/post/683006101521825792/eddie-meta-5x17-speculation and it's a really good analysis, but it makes me sad to think that there's no hope for a queer eddie diaz. i agree with op's analysis but i was really hoping for a queer storyline with him. what do you think? especially after the last episodes there have been a lot of hints that could be easily read as queer subtext. do you think they're going to explore it or at least nod to it between the next episode and the finale so that they can explore it in season 6 or do you think it's not possible at all?
thank you again and have a good day! ^.^
Hi, lovely Nonnie! No, thank YOU for the kind words. I'm going through some difficult times, so as much as I always believe every bit of kindness matters, it's even truer for me right now. And I am SO glad we get to discuss these eps together, my friend. ;) *HUGS*
Anything's okay to ask! I'll just apologize, the post you linked to is too long for me, I can't read it with my vertigo. :( I'm already making a huge effort to read my asks so I can reply, I'm spent before I get to anything else. I haven't read anyone's meta or fics in a long time and as I mentioned here, I can't even read mine back.
So I don't know what that post's author is going on. And TBH, I can't tell you if there is or isn't a chance for queer Eddie now. In general? I def think we have a very good chance at getting that. But will we get it now? I actually think it would make so much sense! Listen, that Ramon was severe with Eddie and raised him with all sorts of toxic masculinity ideas is known. To justify Eddie going back to Texas in 517 and facing his dad, the show should add something more in. Especially if its runners claim that we're going to learn Eddie has trauma from before he joined the army. I have to stress here, not everything that's bad parenting is also traumatic in the clinical sense of the word, which is the sense I tend to consider because that's what we do when we study Psychology. So just having Eddie go back and confront Ramon Diaz about being a toxic dad, I'm not sure that is enough. Think of the Buckley parents coming to visit in 404 and 405, we knew something was off about them before they appeared on our screen, but to justify Buck's confrontation with them, the show had to introduce us to a deeper trauma.
So what deeper trauma might we learn about since Eddie IS going back to see his parents and family in Texas? There are a lot of options, but I have to admit that the one which plays out best IMO is a teenage Eddie discovering he has feelings for another boy, and Ramon putting a brutal end to it. That can easily count as a trauma in the clinical sense of the word. And there are things suggesting Eddie hasn't allowed himself to explore where his heart might lead him to, just like there were hints in 403 about the Buckley secret (yep, about half way through that ep I was convinced what Daniel's story was going to be and I was 100% right). There is the possibility that we’ll discover Ramon forced Eddie to marry Shannon, but TBH, Eddie pretty much has already told Bobby he only married Shannon because she got pregnant. So is finding out this was in part enforced by Ramon and not just Eddie’s guilty conscience enough to turn it into a ‘trauma’? Maybe, but it’s a lot less convincing than queer!Eddie IMO. Because a part of it is Eddie himself, as we saw in s2 when he thought Shannon was pregnant again, which drove him to decide to commit to her again, despite not being sure right before that. I can't say that I saw any hints for anything other than that or a general "Eddie's parents stopped him from figuring out who he was really meant to be." Does that mean I didn't miss something, or that the writers are actually ready to let Eddie be gay or bi? I'm not sure. TBH, I would have expected maybe more of a reaction from Eddie to Josh in 516 if that's what 911 was setting up. Like maybe some sadness in realizing Josh might be able to have what Eddie could never be allowed. So there are points against the queer!Eddie theory, too.
In conclusion, queer!Eddie still fits best of all the things I have noticed. Am I convinced this is what we're getting? No. I’m very hesitant ‘coz I can’t say I saw enough hints in this specific direction beyond that general “Let Eddie follow his heart” theme. But it does fit IMO, so I wouldn't rule it out either. And I most def would not rule it out in the long run. I think at the end of the day, maybe the show runners aren’t ready to let Buddie go canon now, but at some point they’ll have to. Nothing else honestly fits either man. So basically, take heart! IDK if we get queer!Eddie now, but I believe at some point we will.
I hope this helps, hon? Please feel free to let me know! Thank you again for your wonderful ask! xoxox
(I got an influx of asks, I WILL answer all of them, but it might take a sec. If anyone wants to check whether I've already answered theirs or to read my replies, here's my ask tag. Thank you! xoxox)

As renisfan said, Dimitri doesn't think Flayn sounds suspicious at all in their A+ support. And tbh, if Flayn married a Blue Lion, and if Seteth married Ingrid, then I can easily see both Flayn and Seteth revealing the truth about their history to their partner. Which in turn might lead to the Blue Lions knowing as a whole. And if you believe CF Rhea told Dimitri the truth, then surely the same is true for AG Dimitri eventually since AG is just CF from the perspective of Faerghus instead.
Mmh -
I still think there's a difference between Dimitri knowing and accepting his future wife sleeps a lot and will survive him - without understanding what it really means - and Dimitri knowing Flayn is a Nabatean, meaning her blood and bones can be used to craft weapons and some people are out there wanting to harvest her.
As you said, we can all see them trusting the BL gang with their secret, because the BL gang, unlike some other people, aren't the kind of characters to ostracise people based on the shape of their ears, at least when they're not OOC or warped by plot powers like what happens in Tru Piss if they join Supreme Leader.
But to make that jump?
CF and AG are still different on one crucial/capital point though :
Flamey!
Flamey didn't already sort of revealed what Nabatean Bones and Crest Stones can do (tfw no Baldo or Waldi acknowledged by the plot in Nopes), so in a way, in FE16, Flamey was the one who started to reveal "the truth", as her acolytes also kidnapped Flayn for her blood.
Given how Nopes erased Supreme Leader's fondness for Pointy Ears and Baldo and Waldi don't exist, no one knows what are Crest Stones bar the shiny jewels on relics.
In other words, FE16's events suggest to the world that humans exist, and other "beings" of certain power - even if the game tries its hardest to ignore it, or to prevent people from reacting to that knowledge, bar Supreme Leader and Hubert.
In Nopes? We know there are humans, and mole people, that's it.
CF!Dimitri might have seen Rhea turn in the IO in Garreg Mach, to protect the Monastery, and would have of course received a lot of "information campaign" deriding her as a inhuman and cruel beast. Coupled with the demonic beasts popping up, he's already in the mindset of "learning" that some people looking like people aren't... human (and he is okay with it!).
In Nopes, bar the rumour about a large white beast (I thought the IO was a known figure!!), telling him that giant dragons exist who can also turn into humans would maybe be taken as a joke "haha and you tell me Flayn is a fierce beast? Please.".
As for Rhea...
As explained above, Flamey opened the barn in FE16, Rhea is really really desperate in Tru Piss because Billy/Sothis turns against her, and she's again betrayed by a Hresvelg. She's being called inhuman and a "beast" by opposing forces, and had to witness people using, again, remains of her own kin as weapons, to the point of crafting new ones (Waldi!) and even capturing her niece.
So while Rhea's trust issues would be exceptionally low - Dimitri, with the knowledge from the past year, who also got his own share of "information campaign" might accept her and her kin too - especially if people already know (Manu and Bernie comment about it iirc?) she is not-human (a lot of people saw her in Garreg Mach?) - all of her secrets (the biggest of them at least) are already found out.
So there is no need to hide anything anymore.
---
But yep, if Dimitri or any of the Lions know anything about the Nabateans, they will share with the rest of their friends because they are trustworthy, and I really like the parallel it creates to the first Adrestia - Nabateans trusted a bunch of humans who were worthy of said trust and never betrayed them...
Only to be betrayed by their descendants, 1000 years later.
I can see Flayn choosing to trust anew, and Seteth too, if Flayn does it, but Rhea? Without the extreme circumstances from Tru Piss, I can't see her do it, or maybe she finally does post AM, when she's chillaxing in Zanado (since she already doesn't value her life, it's better to come clean to the new King who unknowingly helped her, even if, in True Rhea fashion, she'd omit mentioning Seteth'n'Flayn in her "I'm not a human" speech. Hilarity ensues if Flayn already revealed the secret though, Dimitri being all "I already know about your ears, Flayn showed me hers!" which would be very serious business because showing ears to a human is akin to holding his hand). To be fair, AM!mural ending with a sort of cloth on Aredbhar could also mean Dimitri tries to put "it" to rest?
Ultimately I think it's a question or trust, can Nabateans trust the BL? Yes they can. Would they trust them? Flayn would without doubts, Seteth - who already spent 20 years pretending to be a human and hiding his true self - might do it too.
Rhea? She'd need a lot of external circumstances.
Maybe she would, post AG after the Monastery is retaken since she seems to admire/respect/love Dimitri but given how Zahras!Dimitri exists, she's setting herself up to be disappointed, again.
Fodlan KT sequel : Saviour King Dimitri's descendant, 1100 years after the events of AM/AG, starts a war against the Church of Seiros because Dimitri's sekrit history told his descendants that the Archbishop is not a human and eats babies for breakfast, and controls humans.
AU where everything is well that ends well : AG!Dimitri breaks his weapon while training and goes to find a lady in a lake who will give him a new sword (Flayn told him to go to that lake, but she didn't mention the lady part, Sylvain did), but it's actually a giant turtle, who makes fun of his ponytail and transforms in a human (!!!).
Since he gave him news of his "beloved niece" the turtle-man accepts to forge a new weapon, asking him if he also wants a "white sword" because Rhea kept on pestering him back then to make a "white sword" - Dimitri is shocked, Flayn is this turtle-man's niece and he knows Lady Rhea?
Lured by the smell of Zanado fruits on his hands (Dimitri tried to peel one for Rhea during their teatime sessions, while she brought him tea) he joins the party and sells everything out, since this man appears to be "Cethleann's friend", how he made a lot of swords for his siblings and their friends back then, how Macuil - that brat - took his credit, but he isn't like Cichol, he just finds it amusing - did you know he ranted three days and three nights about the shield Rhea borrowed? - and how he could make some for he and his friends too, aren't they fighting against Adrestia - it'll be a good occasion to make fun of Rhea, who kept on bragging about Wilhelm being her friend and how she trusted him a lot whenever Cichol said something - but in return they'll have to stop using their relics, because those things are dangerous and, anyways, it's better to put their siblings to rest.
Indech crafts B!Dimitri's lance for him, while Rhea's mortified, he just spelt out 1000 years of craftfully intricate "secrets" in one day?? "If your secrets were crafted like your crown, they would have been discovered sooner than later, sister."
Cue the BL realising what their Relics are, reacting to the plot and the Nabateans, feeling like dirt until Rhea tells them that children shouldn't be responsible for the sins of their parents, and asking them to forgive her for lying - the game shifting from "uwu war bad but can't we walk with her" to "let's stop this nonsense, and find the culprits who erased your world and try to do the same with ours"
Dimitri'd reply to Clout in Zahras with something closer to "shut up", like how he lived amongst them and saw none of what Clout is preaching, also he trusts them and trusting each other is the first step to create peace, thus, Zahras!Dimitri is erased from the plot.
the end

Thoughts on the song "Sound and Vision"
So I'm still currently obsessed with this tune, and the album it's on:
youtube
I can't believe I didn't hear Low until last month, it's so very good... And "Sound and Vision" is one of the finest tracks on it. I'd like to share some of my reflections on it, because I realized recently that I was getting a different vibe from the song than (apparently) most listeners are getting.
Thanks to a book I read a while back called The Man Who Sold the World: David Bowie in the 1970's, I had a vague idea before I listened to Low of where exactly it fits into the mythos of Bowie. I knew it was the start of what's called the "Berlin trilogy" of Bowie albums that were recorded in Berlin, at Hansa Studios (although apparently most of the tracks on Low weren't actually recorded there, despite its legacy...), and I knew that it was supposed to be pretty musically adventurous, and I knew that its creation was sort of a creative revitalization for Bowie. I didn't really know or remember the personal story behind it, though, and my impression upon first listen was that of someone trying to make sense of a difficult time in their life and seeking solace in the act of creation, much like what The Beach Boys' album Love You did for its creator Brian Wilson. It turns out my impression wasn't too far off. But I'm not going to delve too much into how Low relates to Bowie's life at the time, because I'm not a biographer. And besides, I feel very uncomfortable analyzing songs from that standpoint, because unless the artist is extremely honest and forthcoming and willing to go line by line through a song explaining how it relates to their life, I don't want to make assumptions or end up putting words in their mouth. So I'm going to talk about the narrator of the song "Sound and Vision" as a character, even though I acknowledge there are probably a lot of real-life parallels in the lyrics.
The instrumental track to "Sound and Vision" is groovy, swinging, upbeat, and (for me personally) makes the listener want to have a good time and dance around. The synth strings adding a cheesy romantic touch, the punchy as fuck drums, the tasteful guitar riff that gets into the groove and stays there... It's all such a Vibe, and honestly, for lack of a better term, it's just so... colorful. I love how peaceful and pleasant this song sounds- there's no sense (to me) of anything bad about to happen, just a nice, sonic landscape to enjoy. Of course, the lyrics may tell a different story to some:
Don't you wonder sometimes about sound and vision?
Blue, blue, electric blue! That's the color of my room, where I will live. Blue, blue. Pale blinds drawn all day- nothing to do, nothing to say. Blue, blue.
I will sit right down, waiting for the gift of sound and vision. And I will sing, waiting for the gift of sound and vision. Drifting into my solitude, over my head...
Don't you wonder sometimes about sound and vision?
What it seems like most listeners are reading into this is that "Sound and Vision" is a case of Lyrical Dissonance. And sure, maybe if the lyrics weren't married to such an upbeat track, I would feel the same way. But to me personally, these lyrics aren't depressing. They're hopeful. I imagine that the narrator of this song has undergone something traumatic, perhaps the loss of a person close to them, or some kind of financial misfortune, or maybe some global tragedy that's affecting many others as well (hm, this would have been a great song for the pandemic). Or, if taken in the context of Low as a whole album, maybe the narrator has brought this misfortune upon themselves, and after alienating those around them, is now ready to get their life back in order, starting by reconnecting with a pursuit that brings them joy- the act of artistic creation.
But it's not as simple as saying "Today I will make a masterpiece!" and then sitting down and doing just that. I don't know if y'all know this (and if you're a creative person, you probably do), but... making art is hard sometimes, at least if you have any intent behind it at all. Art requires time, effort, commitment, and above all, inspiration, and there are various reasons why it can be hard to stay motivated or find inspiration at all. A personal or global tragedy, for example, might make the act of creation seem frivolous and futile. And yet, it's also cathartic during times of duress. As pointless as it may feel, it also feels good to vent.
So here we have an artist who feels simultaneously compelled to create, and stymied from doing so, for whatever reason. Motivation and inspiration is lacking- maybe there's too much self-imposed pressure, maybe the act of picking up a pen or paintbrush feels too taxing, maybe they just don't have any ideas at the moment. But the urge to create is stronger than the desire not to, so they seek inspiration first from their surroundings. What is there to write about? Well, first they have to come to terms with where they are, and while they may be unprepared to tackle what that means on an emotional/mental level, it's easier on a literal level. They're in a room, and the walls are blue. Start with that. Eventually, however, this spark (if it can even be called that) flickers out, and they end up appealing to a divine figure, AKA a muse, to bring them "the gift of sound and vision." This can refer to the act of writing songs and making visual art, but it can also mean second sight- some innate, supernatural understanding of the world from which they feel so disconnected. A close connection to the world and to others will always lead to a more fruitful period of creation, because art isn't created in a vacuum.
Maybe it's the image of a vacuum, of isolation, that leads others to say that this is a sad song. "Drifting into my solitude" and "pale blinds drawn all day" certainly sound a bit lonesome- but I personally consider this to be necessary to the act of creation. When I write songs, or write anything really, I like to be alone and entirely free of distractions. So I envision this song's narrator sitting at a desk with a pen in hand and a notebook before them, holed up in a blue room trying to write, and instead of despairing at the difficulty of creation, they're patient with themselves. Eventually, the gift of sound and vision will come. It may be hard work, but it is very necessary work, in order to make sense of whatever traumatic event has driven them to this room in the first place.
I'd like to add that a lot of this is coming from my personal connotations, because I'm in this picture and I don't exactly like it. For almost the entirety of 2022, I've been struggling with writer's block, lack of motivation, and executive dysfunction when it comes to making music. This thing that I used to love to do and feel very inspired to do is now just... a thing that's expected of me, something that my heart isn't really into doing. But since I have, on the other hand, been hard at work plotting works of fiction and writing various other things like, say, song analyses... I'm sure that my passion for and desire to write songs will come back. And this song gives me hope that it will. I'll sit right down, in my blue room (no joke, the walls of my bedroom aren't "electric" blue but they're still blue), and wait for the gift of sound and vision. And maybe I’ll help it along by listening to music that inspires me, like Low certainly does.

oH this CHAPTER- i was once again smiling all the way through i love all these characters and their relationships so much!! good that more people are getting clued into their obvious feelings (tbh who else WOULD it be but lady danbury) and i'm living for this daphne/cherie teaming up to get cecily and elias together!!
“That’s what it says,” Cecily said, holding the paper over her head as she laid on the bed. honestly her sitting form is as bad as elias' they're obviously made for each other
“That’s impossible!” you stated, unable to stop the grin on your face. “Only married couples kiss, everyone knows that.” y'know what something tells me that cherie is going to get this disproven sometime soon idk i just have this peculiar feeling-
“You can’t say it to anyone,” you whispered. “But I think that’s how women become…you know, with child. If a man kisses them on the lips.” i just have to say i love how this entire conversation is giving me middle school all girls sleepover vibes i love them and their innocence sm!!
"But my brother Hugh told me if by an accident I find myself alone with a man without a chaperone and he tries to touch me, I must kick that man between his legs.” hugh has only been behind the screens but honestly he's one of my favourite characters and i love him and love him more with every new thing i hear about him
You thought for a moment. “Maybe there’s a scheduled time that they kiss.” HAHA I CAN'T- what do they even think periods are for 😭😭
“I will not go down without a fight,” you told her. “I know you and Elias are meant to be, and I will not have something so trivial as social standing get in the way of that. You’ll see.” i would love to say that i'm the number 1 celias shipper but i would be lying because we all know it's really cecily
Daphne grinned. “I just happen to think that you two would make a beautiful couple.” YES DAPHNE I LOVE YOU!! keep this same mindset with your brother and cherie please
“Sweet child, never apologize for that,” she said, waving a hand in the air. “Your mother used to love laughing, may she rest in peace.” i'm quite sure that there'd be more people complaining if she stopped laughing- i'm sure that 'echoing' meant a certain bridgerton heard it too 👀👀
“That boy…” she said as if he was exasperated. “I do not know who is more blind, you or him.” once again lady danbury is the most relatable character around bc this is me everytime they interact
You weren’t supposed to imagine him as your husband. It was very improper, and you were sure if your mother were here, she would scold you terribly. okay but what WOULD she think about anthony & cherie?? we know the duke's thoughts but considering the parallels- would the duchess be more welcoming of anthony??
He had no gloves on for some reason, which was strange because you had seen him wear them inside. well that's because he's kind of a manslut and wants to touch your naked hands again if possible and is trying to heighten the chance of that happening!! hope that clears things up!!
“If it makes you feel any better, I think some people do want to cry back there.” can i just say i love anthony and his smug little remarks and that you write him SO well
"Besides, it only takes a moment to fall in love completely, so it hardly shows anything, I will win it!” MUST you repeat that fact cherie?? you'll strain poor anthony's heart making him believe you can fall in love with someone at any time
You reached out to pluck a rose, but as soon as you did, the thorn prickled your finger, making you hiss and pull your hand back. NO BUT THE FORESHADOWING- THE FORESHADOWING I'M CALLING IT NOW THE ANGST IS COMING VERY VERY SOON
An intense light crossed his eyes as his gaze fell upon your lips wrapped around your fingertip, and you lowered your hand. anthony honestly stop being so horny- she's JUST trying to ease her pain god anthony is DESPERATE huh
You held out your hand and he carefully took it, the warmth of his skin spreading over yours, making goosebumps rise on your skin and your head spun a little for a second from the sudden rush of excitement. He took a look at your finger, then ran his thumb over it as you swallowed thickly. i CALLED it this was anthony's plan all along- hiding his gloves i bet he even placed the roses there himself
“Is that the rule then?” you asked, twirling the stem between your fingers. “I can have whatever hurts me?” THE FORESHADOWING 2.0 yes cherie you'll have him after hurting for a LONG time because this is dream's world and the only way to get happiness is to suffer through many chapters of angst first 😀😀
even though i'm terrified of the angst because all these characters deserve all the happiness in the world i can't wait for next chapter!! i really really loved this one and i am aching for another appearance of the duke OR hugh's first appearance finally!! have a wonderful day love <33
Merel omg aaaa ❤❤
Lollll oh yeah, Cecily is as bad as Elias on that one 😂
Disproven by who, I wonder...😏😂😈
I love Hugh so much and omg I can't wait for him to show up, I think you will like his scenes! ❤❤
Cherie and Cecily are just...very clueless 😂😂
Cherie is like two seconds away from locking them in a room for them to admit their love for each other 😂
I have this HC that his head shot up and he instantly stopped paying attention to whatever conversation he was having the minute he heard her laugh ❤
I LOVE LADY DANBURY ❤
okay but what WOULD she think about anthony & cherie?? we know the duke's thoughts but considering the parallels- would the duchess be more welcoming of anthony?? I HAVE IDEAS ABOUT THIS!
Okay so I definitely think that the duchess would be even more opposed to it than the duke 😂 There are too many parallels between them, so considering the divorce, the duchess would never ever let Anthony even get close to Cherie if she were there😈 He's a rake and Cherie is just....very naive 😂
well that's because he's kind of a manslut and wants to touch your naked hands again if possible and is trying to heighten the chance of that happening!! hope that clears things up!! I CAN'T STOP LAUGHING OH MY GOD😂😂😂
The more she talks about love, the more Anthony goes like "this girl is a loose cannon"😂
Foreshadowing number oneeee-
Anthony's mind just basically took a screenshot the minute she put her finger to her mouth😂
placed the roses there himself LOLLLLL 😂
I mean what's romance without angst? 😈😈
Honeeeey, thank you so much for this, you're amazing! ❤❤❤
