(Very late) Linktober 2023 – Day 25. Fairy
This boy deserves some rest and a hug :))
Fairy fontains have always been my favorite places in Zelda 🥰 OoT/MM great fairies can seem a bit weird but I love them so much! This is the Hyrule Warriors redesign though.
The border is the Clock Town fairy fountain from Majora's Mask 3D. I know the fairy there has orange hair but pink is more iconic ;)

The Chain being Down Bad🐕‍🦺™️ for Your Voice lol (Masc!Reader)
Tumblr media
(Content under ✄----- )
@peepthatbish once again, our lovely muse peep (name twins!!) Has come to bless me, and hopefully i did that gorgeous idea justice, and dw im not done writing them all out yet :)
<333
Sun: Masculine Reader (he/him)
Orbit: Headcanons-ish
Stars: a dash of everybody <3
(except rare ones like Fierce/Koridai/Courage/Sage/etc.)
Comets & Meteors: Content Warnings: fluff & Trigger Warnings: none known.
Please comment if i missed any. /gen
Ok but like
Ur voice is absolutely iconic to them
(Like the fairy fountain theme or the appearance of the Master sword, its unimaginable to them for your to not sound like that)
And its not only the heroes of Hyrule, but anyone else who could hear you
Well it helps that it used to be ur only sort of external sign of presence to outsiders
(the Links could also somewhat "feel" you in their own chests sometimes, like when u were stressed over a boss, or sad over a cutscene)
The only others who usually hear you are mostly things like the Great Fairies, the Deku Tree, other weird ass beings that know way too much (Fierce Deity)
So needless to say, when u first crash landed thru a portal into Wild's Hyrule (ur latest Zelda game you've played u guess thats why)
And the Chain had seen u in the distance, met up with you to try and help what they thought was some poor guy who accidentally fell thru Hylia's portals
But as they heard u stutter thru an introduction, instead they knew immediately it was you
Sky and Twi seriously teared up, Hyrule/Wild/Four/Wind all attacked you with a hug and excited shrieking, Legend and Wars were just gaping in shock, and Time was just staring at you
It took you a minute to pinpoint who was from what game, but as soon as you figured it out u literally jaw dropped at Time/Wild/Twi/etc.
(The ones that look different from their in game model or way better irl than graphics could ever capture)
U also may have screamed. A very manly scream. Not high pitched at all. You didnt make Legend cover his ears or the four that tackled u scramble off in fear, what- haha
(U cant blame urself, u were in literal shock, bc that's ALL the LINKS??!! Like u needed a shock blanket like rescue/ambulances gives ppl)
After calming down, it wasnt even an outright discussion or decision u could rlly choose,
They were basically kidnapping u along for the ride, also u were there for them (in pretty voice alone but still) for all their adventures,
So u even suggesting leaving u behind bc u couldnt keep up as well as them had them looking at you like they never even considered it
(And also making them individually go thru the 5 stages of grief: 😨😟😡😭🥺🙏🙏 they were all outright begging u, in their own ways, deadass by the end of it)
So as u travel, you get to understand the full impact of Your Voice, or the Guide's Voice™️.
If anyone has a nightmare, what would normally take another hero poking them with a stick and dodging the reflex punch, or them waking up unable to go back to sleep after having the nightmare, etc.
U quickly realized only took you talking to comfort them, with no reflex punch when they woke up, if they woke up, sometimes u were so good at it the nightmare just cleared ended according to their face
In your first battle against the shadow, along with lots of black-blooded monsters, u realized how much more confidently every Link fought as soon as you were speaking from behind them
They got even better and less stressed abt fighting when u managed to crack a few jokes or go toe to toe verbally with the Shadow lol
Legend outright guffawed when you pulled a dumb "sigh... well i guess... maybe... ur mom." joke in response to his villain monologue, like wiping a tear and everything, saying "u used to say that all the time after dumb long evil speeches, its a fucking classic" 💀
Literally will have them asking you to make more jokes bc it makes them feel better in tense situations/battles (most to least frequently: Sky, Wild, Hyrule, Wind, Twi, Time, Wars, Legend, Four) but they love it equally
Okay but,
U have Definitely. Sent chills down their spines when u get into lower ranges lol
U dont understand why everyone needs to talk to you so bad first thing in the morning,
or alternatively why they keep wanting you to go on a rant abt ur fav book/tv show/thing either???
U are always the last for story time at the campfire every night, and unlike the others, they refuse to let you take a night off, u have to say smth every night??
It amazes u they like ur voice so much, huh, Wild/Twi/Wars/Four/Hyrule must all be getting a little too close to the fire, theyre faces are looking a little red/pink
(Legend and Time just look rlly pleased/happy to be here, they only ever look a little overheated when u specifically look at them while ur talking/or tell a story abt them, and they usually are always the ones asking u another question to prompt u to keep going forever)
Wars may or may not have a life changing moment he told u abt ur voice on his adventures where Cia was like, "Ah Link... let me get a good look at you..."
Link: 😰🤢🥲
You: "... and girl, I am only looking at your tiddies right now."
If Wars had smth to drink right then he wouldve spit-taked.
It was like the one time he was caught so genuinely off-guard, and u just made him suddenly feel 10x more comfortable facing her, he literally couldnt keep his knight trained composure together, he had to lean on his knees he was crying with laughter
That was the first Cia heard of you too and she literally audibly gasped lmao
It was like all of a sudden Wars and Cia had been in on a joke no one else could hear around them (Shiek/Zelda is confused to this day by that)
And there are countless moments like this from each of their adventures where u did this, u cant help but feel mildly embarassed when u hear it at first
But then seeing how much ur voice and comments meant to them and how happy it made them u can help but want to talk more and more and more
Youve never felt more comfortable talking to this many people in ur entire life,
Bc u can literally see their elf ears twitching cutely when they pick up ur voice
BEST BELIEEEVVEEEE
u arent getting out of singing to them.
Yeah, sorry, theyve heard u sing ur fav songs while gaming too many times, they need to hear u sing irl, Now.
Most of them ignore or sort of passively enjoy bards/musicians on their journeys, but as soon as u so much as hum-
Its like they're all clambering to get closer to hear u, but also not make u aware thats what theyre doing, so they end up just:
Four/Legend/Hyrule trying to hide behind various (upside down) books, behind plants that're not that bushy, or one memorable time, when u sang "Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy" quietly to urself, a bard's tune got close and reminded u of it,
and Four fully threw his hammer on his toes bc he was so shocked/lovestruck, he completely missed the anvil and just threw it at the ground/his feet LMAO
Time and Wars, cheeky strategists they are, immediately fall back behind u wherever u are, so u cant see them, but they can still hear u lol
(Theyre the only ones youve not caught actively listening/straining to come closer to hear u... bc theyre behind u lol)
Wild/Sky/Twi all fully whip their heads around fast enough to crack it, then clumsily try to recover so u wont stop
Wild/Sky just fully accidentally like fall into lakes/ponds trying to stay just out of range or even (they both tried it once, and never again after u got onto them) got on a rooftop
And fell. When u got quieter they tried to get closer and- yep.
(Idiots were fine and smiling when u came to check on them)
Twilight.
Twilight's the worst ngl.
Just fully stares in awe at you until u stop out of embarassment, and has had the audacity multiple times to pop up as Wolfie and just happily listen like you havent also been thru the adventure that literally made him a werewolf
Wind is a cutie, he always joins in, esp when he recognizes the song, and since they can somehow remember the songs u sang while gaming, it will never not be a core memory for you to sing "Drunken Sailor" back to back with "I LOVE YOU HOE" by ODETARI (ft.9lives)
with Wind Waker Link.
You nearly died when you heard him singing the chorus, like literally right after drunken sailor
(Its catchy u got it stuck in ur head from tiktok audios)
(Wind absolutely makes fun of the others for being in love with ur voice, like he'll trick u into ranting abt smth late at night when ur voice is husky or ur just low energy atm, and then from behind you just mouth at the rest of them, sitting looking up at you like ur an angel,
G A Y Y Y Y 🫵🫵🫵 )
Sorry to anyone whose sent in stuff to my mailbox! I promise ill answer u tomorrow!!
Im acc running another blog for a diff fandom and i got busy today :/
BUT THANK U SM AND I LOVE YOU TO ANYONE WHO SENT STUFF IN !! <3333
Like, i would write a fic for u tysm for showing me ur interest bc it feels like tumbleweeds are blowing thru LU fandom when i check the tags 💀
Which isnt awful! I just like hearing feedback from ppl or just talking abt LU and stuff :)
Peace out,
🌙

Febuwhump Day 9 - Alternate Prompt, "I love you"
More emotional pain fun with the predecessors of Hyrule Warriors! This one gets a little steamy and suggestive, but there's nothing explicit, FYI.
XX
The courtyard was more beautiful than he'd ever seen it. Lanterns held the evening shadows at bay, the flowers were in full bloom, the water in the fountains sparkled in the light of fairies that had come with the great fairy's blessing. Magic was sweet in the air, little pops of it sending showering rainbows cascading down on the guests.
Link gazed at it all, entranced, temporarily pulled out of the usual dark exhaustion that numbed him to his core. For just a second, he genuinely felt alive, and for a moment longer, he recognized the gravity of the situation.
A baby. A baby.
The young king consort wandered through the gardens, barely noticing people bowing or nodding in acknowledgement to him. He had lost sight of the queen, and he knew he was supposed to be close to her.
He had walked through these gardens so many times in the past. It had been a while since he'd been outside, apart from going to the training grounds. He couldn't recall them ever looking so enlivened.
He wondered if the rest of the kingdom looked this bright. The last time he'd been outside the castle, Hyrule Field had been scorched earth.
Queen Zelda appeared ahead of him, standing on a slightly elevated part of the courtyard, and Link went to her. She was talking to Impa, who noticed Link's approach first, and the pair watched him as he climbed the stairs. Link looked Zelda over, a little unnerved at the swelling of her belly, at how it was emphasized by the dress she wore.
So many emotions flooded him. Guilt, pain, fear, hope, excitement, dread. He didn't know how to process this, how to look at the physical proof of what he'd been hearing for months. He hadn't seen her in months.
A baby.
The queen extended a hand, the motion holding gentle confidence despite the clear hesitancy in her gaze, and he automatically took it, letting her guide him towards the center of the courtyard. Impa's eyes never left him.
Crowds began to gather, more faces than he could count or focus on, and Link grew dizzy. He remained steadfast by his queen's side as she spoke to the people of Hyrule.
"Thank you for coming to celebrate with us," he heard when he tuned in. "The road has been perilous, but together, we are rebuilding. Hyrule will thrive once more, stronger than ever. May this child be a symbol of the goddess' favor, of the prosperity of Hyrule that is to come."
The crowd cheered, shouts of joy and praise and long live the queen and other phrases that Link could no longer decipher in the noise. His eyes wandered over the people aimlessly, letting himself be simultaneously shown off and ignored, until his gaze settled on a familiar face.
Amber eyes, captivating in their intensity. Dark brown skin, smooth and silky and glowing in the light. Fiery red hair, as bright as the sun, held out of a face with a high ponytail, spilling over bare shoulders in numerous small braids that were decorated with beads. A crimson bodice decorated with jewels and embroidery, with wide brimming baggy, silky pants and a shimmering red train laying overtop it that slid to the floor and pooled around like water.
The chief of the Gerudo.
Hemisi.
Link felt the blood drain out of his face. He hadn't seen her since... since... everything.
Although the Gerudo entourage around her applauded with the crowd, Hemisi was still and silent, just watching him, only him. Link wanted nothing more than to melt into the earth.
Something changed in the atmosphere. Queen Zelda released his hand, and the crowds moved. People started to mingle, many vying for the monarchs' attention. Though most flocked to his wife, Link still found himself suddenly surrounded by strangers, congratulating him and trying to make small talk and curry favor. Link did his best to fumble through the conversation, keeping his responses to smiles, nods, or a couple words, before the bombardment was interrupted. The crowd parted as if by force, and Link saw Hemisi approaching him, his party guests watching her uneasily.
Hemisi stopped a mere two paces away from him, but it felt like a canyon was between them.
"Your Highness," she acknowledged with a tip of her head.
Link swallowed, his throat suddenly dry. Her name came out of his lips as a whisper, inaudible above the din, and he nodded his head to cover his slip up.
"I must say," one of the nobles who had surrounded him piped up. "It is quite the surprise to see you here, Gerudo. You were not present for the royal wedding - I assumed you would not wish to set foot in Hyrule once more given what your people have done to this land."
Link felt the bottom drop out of his stomach while his skin crawled. His hands twitched, rage pushing him to throttle the man while anxiety of the repercussions held him in place. He couldn't help the glare that he threw in the noble's direction, though.
Hemisi's seething look far surpassed it. Despite the murderous intent in her gaze, though, and the way the noble cowered, she had an impressive amount of restraint. Her words dripped with venom as she replied, "Ganondorf led the assault and caused the war. I fought against him. I understand these things can get confusing to you, as I know for certain none of you partook in the war, instead hiding away in your riches while your people bled. But I bled with my people, the Gerudo suffered just as Hylians did. And I not only defeated Ganondorf, I helped your princess and hero split his soul into shards to ensure this never happened again."
The noble had no rebuttal, too busy shrinking away, and the others left with him.
They were alone.
Link wanted to scream, to apologize, to hunt the noble down and slit his throat, to slit his own throat.
"You really do suck at this whole political thing, don't you?" Hemisi asked, a lesser bite to her tone.
Link finally felt his chest stop tightening, allowing him to take a breath and let out a small, pathetic laugh. "Yeah. I... well, you know."
"Yeah. I know."
What should he say? What could he say?
"Let's walk," Hemisi suggested, not waiting for his consent before she started to guide him away from the center of the party.
They walked in silence for a while, Link's mind whirling, unable to formulate a sentence, wondering what was happening and what he was about to have to handle. His heart raced at her touch, his mind screamed at her proximity.
Farore above, why did this have to be so complicated?
Link started to grow dizzy, but finally, finally Hemisi found a hidden corner and tucked both of them into it. The music sounded so far away, reality sounded so far away.
Here, in the darkness, away from politics and pressure, Link found his voice. "I'm sorry for that. I--that was completely unacceptable."
"Will you kill him?" Hemisi questioned, crossing her arms.
"What? No, I can't--"
"I'm joking, stupid," Hemisi interrupted with a huff, before cocking her head to the side and asking, "Would you, if you could?"
The heat surged him in once more. "I'd certainly like to beat that entitlement out of him."
Hemisi remained silent, watching him longer until he started to squirm under her scrutiny. He wasn't sure where this conversation was going, or even where it should go - they hadn't spoken since--
"I'm sorry," he said before he realized it.
"You already said that."
"No, I--" he stumbled, caught between wanting to backtrack and wanting to follow through. How could he possibly apologize for everything? "I mean--I--"
"You did your duty," Hemisi replied in a monotone, as if to explain some unimportant detail, as if to hammer a point home, as if it didn't matter or mattered too much.
Link's head dropped, shame blushing his cheeks. But a bit of hope sparked in his heart too - if she could understand and accept it, then maybe he could too. Maybe they could salvage this.
"She looks fatter than I thought she would," Hemisi added dully, making Link's gaze snap back to her. The chief shrugged. "She does. Hope it hurts too."
"H-Hemisi," he chided halfheartedly, heart racing.
"You're going to defend her?" she snapped, ire returning in a heartbeat.
Why did this have to be so complicated? "You shouldn't--you shouldn't wish ill of her--"
"You don't?" Hemisi hissed back.
Link bit his tongue.
"You don't understand, do you?" she continued, taking a menacing step towards him. "How could you not understand--I thought you--after everything we've been through--"
"Hemisi, please--"
"Your people mock me and fear me despite everything, and that bitch is at the root of all these issues!"
"Don't call her that," Link snapped in return, the fire igniting inside him once more.
"I had to not only kill my own father, but tear his soul to pieces - he can't even rest in the afterlife, I helped condemn him to eternal hell, after already losing my mother and brother. And in the end, my reward was to lose the love of my life and let Hyrule punish my people for a war I didn't even start." Hemisi glowered. "I have every right to fight, every right to hate her, every reason to destroy this land, to take what is mine."
The air seemed to have frozen, alongside Link's blood. His ears were ringing, heart racing. This was spiraling out of control quickly, and his mind and heart were at war, sympathizing so much it hurt while also hearing Ganondorf's voice in her words.
Every right to fight, to destroy this land, to take what is mine.
Before he could retaliate, Hemisi backed down, just a hair, just enough to remove the danger from her words. "But I chose to stay my hand. People always say thank the goddesses when good things happen, but I assure you, the goddesses are thanking me."
The air was electric, and then the tension trickled away as Hemisi sighed, looking away. "Damn it. I wasn't--just forget it."
Link leaned against the stone wall, also averting his gaze. He was so tired. This wasn't exactly how he'd wanted a reunion between them to go, but he wasn't surprised that it was going this way.
"I'm sorry," he repeated quietly, sincerely.
A calloused hand touched his cheek, making him flinch. He wasn't used to physical contact anymore, having hid himself away for so long after everything. But the touch was familiar, skin smelling of oils that she used when they'd first met, the caressing akin to how she'd touched him before the war. He melted into it for a moment, looking at her as she watched him. Although Hemisi was an opinionated woman, she didn't seem to have any kind of reply to his apology, and the world grew quiet around them. Link let his hand rest overtop hers, and eventually he noted softly, "Your hand's cold."
The Gerudo chief snorted. "It's cold here in Castle Town."
Link reached and took her other hand, guiding both of them to his chest while his hands rested overtop them to warm them. Hemisi tilted forward, leaning her body weight against his as the wall supported them both, her softness making his entire body tingle. Their faces were inches apart, and Link lost his breath as she leaned in and kissed him.
Goddesses he'd missed this, he'd missed her. His skin felt electric, his blood like fire. Memories of time spent with her flooded his heart and mind, of nights stargazing and pointing out different constellations they'd learned with the stories behind them, of days sparring, of discussions on culture and ideas and duties, of adventures exploring and sneaking around, of comfort as tensions rose, of anguish as war broke out, of despair and relief and hope and--
Link let her pull him to the grass, lost in the moment, wanting this more than anything, when he heard the music off in the distance.
The party. The queen. The baby.
"Stop," he whispered, trying to regain his voice.
Hemisi paused, looking at him from overtop him, her hair spilling over her and creating a veil between them and the rest of the world.
"Why?" she asked just as softly, hands massaging his scalp. "We deserve it. You've done your duty, the queen has her victory kid, the kingdom's in love with it. Come back to the desert with me."
Link was losing himself in the relaxing motion, his body's desires overpowering his senses, and he held his breath, pushing against the earth with one foot to flip them over so he had her pinned gently to the ground, hands holding hers down at the wrists, keeping the temptation at bay.
I'm better than this. I can control myself. "You know it's not that simple, Hemisi."
"But it is that simple," she argued. "You married Zelda because she demanded it, because she needed the kingdom to think the royal family was strong. You did the gig for a year, there's a baby now, the family will live on. She doesn't need you anymore. You did your duty."
"She's still my wife," Link argued, moving away from her to sit by the stone wall.
"Did you mean it when you took the vows?" Hemisi demanded, sitting up. "Did you actually want to marry her?"
"I--I didn't want to marry her, but--"
"Then it doesn't count!"
"It does," Link snapped, rising. "Because I meant those vows, and I take my promises seriously."
"How can you be this--this idiotic?!" Hemisi yelled, also shooting to her feet. "When you first said you had to marry her--we were promised to each other, Link, and--I waited, I waited, I even let her take you because I didn't want the war to continue either, but the war is over and she has her token child, just leave her!"
"I already told you I can't!" Link argued. "Don't you understand what would happen? I meant those vows for a reason, Hemisi! This isn't just about Zelda's demands, it's about the entire kingdom! You're not the only one who had to sacrifice for peace! If Zelda and I hadn't married, it could've destroyed the Sheikah, the stability of the crown, and Hyrule along with it."
Link shook his head, feeling nauseous, and looked away. "If I were to leave her, especially for you, there will never be peace."
"You think Zelda will start a war again," Hemisi growled.
"Not her," Link replied. "But everyone else."
"You're defending her?"
"Hemisi, please," Link begged, getting the courage to look her in the eye again. "Please. I don't want anyone else to die. I especially don't want you to get hurt."
"You think I'd let them kill me?" she asked challengingly, though her tone was quiet and the way her eyebrow rose was as cheeky as it could be.
Link had to smile at it, complications forgotten temporarily, and he hugged her so tightly he could barely breathe. She held him just as fiercely. "I love you so much."
Hemisi's breath tickled his ear, shaky and vulnerable, and she buried her face in his shoulder to hide the tremble in her tone. "I love you too."
The pair stood there for what felt like hours, clinging to each other for comfort, desperate to express their care for each other, terrified to release each other, wanting nothing more than to make the rest of the world melt away.
Voices came ever closer, and eventually they let go. Hemisi dipped down to pick up the crown that had fallen off Link when they'd tumbled to the ground, and she silently placed it back on his head.

In that Depths post, you mentioned Link taking Zelda to Cotera to max out her gear. I feel like the Great Fairies are a little mini adventure for Zelink. Zelda's curiosity, Link's protective instincts and war flashbacks, plus my theory about how their magic works (acts of affection only) and I can't help but wonder how Zelink's initial and subsequent interactions with Great Fairies go. Do you have enough thoughts on that to put into a post?
WAIT UR SO RIGHT i hadnt even thought that much about how the great fairies worked until you mentioned it omgg
see the one thing thats up for debate is if zelda had ever interacted with the great fairies between botw and totk, i’d probably say she hasnt?? cuz it seems like the number of monsters we see in the games is Unusual so technically there wouldn’t be much need for her stuff to be upgraded, plus she literally has a guard dog LMAO
but i could imagine it being SUCH an emotional rollercoaster for zelda, we all know damn well she’s been starved of affection. i hope ive done this thought justice HAHA
- zelda is 100% spending the first 5 minutes there taking photos from every angle and link just has to stand there and wait while she’s like “i just need one more!!” (she’s said that 5 times now)
- i like to think that they’d be able to find things like fairies and blupees near the great fairies
- a further 10 minutes is spent with zelda on her hands and knees, purah pad in hands, trying to sneak close enough to a blupee to get a clear photo
- same thing with the fairies. she tries to catch one for science but fails miserably
- link catches one for her and she spends another minute just turning the jar in her hands. he can quite literally see the stars in her eyes
- “do you suppose we have a jar big enough to make a terrarium?” “i think so.” “hmm.. although, that may raise some concerns over fairy ethics..”
- totk has already shown us zelda has a thirst for keeping any funky creature she finds
- link waves and greets cotera nonchalantly. zelda can’t help but stare, wide-eyed and absolutely encapsulated by her beauty
- “my, and who’s this little wildflower you’ve brought along with you?”
- she’s surprised at how easily cotera’s flirty remarks wash over link. the most he ever does is smile
- it’s zelda’s turn to endure the incessant cooing of the great fairies. she’s bright red and struggles to reply without stammering
- link watches her with a grin and even laughs when she stutters enough that she’s incomprehensible
- she swats at his arm, it only makes him giggle more
- link explains what happens at each upgrade to save throwing her in blindly. zelda’s a little hesitant but he reassures her and the encouragement from him fills her with courage
- she handles the first upgrade easily. she’s grinning and relishes in the sparkles that linger around her
- link’s too busy admiring how pretty she looks when she’s given a confidence boost
- cotera’s looking at him knowingly but keeps her words to herself
- the second upgrade flusters her but she’s giggling
- “not to brag, princess, but my magic has worked wonders on you. you look wonderful!” “oh! you needn’t say such lovely things, cotera, really..”
- link’s already grinning before the third upgrade. zelda somehow doesn’t feel comforted
- cotera decides to show a little bit of mercy given how obvious it is that zelda has very little experience w affection so she kisses her head instead. it still stuns her
- link’s stepping back before the final upgrade. zelda has enough time to make a noise of surprise before she’s been scooped up and dragged to the very depths of the fountain
- link’s laughing when he helps steady her once she’s put back down. she feels positively ready to burst from all this affection. she’s still speechless
- he spends time talking to cotera about their plans to traverse the depths while zelda recovers
- link finds himself asking if cotera’s sure being fully upgraded will keep her safe and for a moment a look of understanding washes over her
- she’s seen firsthand the stages of grief trying to find the princess again put him through. she’d seen the exhaustion in his eyes, repairing some of his clothes as she upgraded them from all the battles he’d endured in his search for her
- zelda’s touched by his worry, but also equally worried about his own wellbeing. being so anxious about her couldnt be good for him. she felt guilty sometimes
- “thank you so much for your blessings, cotera. you have been very kind.” “with a face like yours, princess, i should be thanking you.” “oh..!”
- cotera asks to speak with link alone for a bit and zelda obliges, busying herself with making notes on the whole experience
- “link, please tell me you’ve been looking after yourself?” “it’s.. a work in progress.” “please, find time for yourself to heal. even if that time is while you’re next to her, don’t lose yourself to what plagues you.” “mm..”
- zelda leaves feeling like it’s not only her clothes that have been upgraded but her confidence too. link wishes he had the courage to continue where cotera left off
- both of them feel as though theyve just witnessed some personal growth from zelda, link makes sure to tell her that confidence is a good look on her
- his compliment has by far the biggest impact on her

Bro Istg I had never listened to the entire Claire de Lune. Now I think it might have inspired the Great fairy fountain theme from Zelda because of how the piece sound when you get arround minute 2:37.

Hyrule Broadcast Announcement
The signs of Ganon's return are as follows:
The most recent daughter born to the royal family has the Mark of the Gods on her dominant hand. Status: Confirmed
Poes begin to die, and become more hostile. The souls they were ferrying return to their mortal forms corrupted, bringing about the undead. NOTE: STALCHILDREN MAY APPEAR IN THE FIELDS AT NIGHT. PLEASE STAY IN YOUR VEHICLES AND TRAVEL IN PAIRS WHEN GOING BETWEEN CITIES. Report any undead sightings to your nearest Guard Office. Status: Reported
Monster outbreaks become more frequent. Monsters are known to frequently develop eyes or other similar weak points in their forms, presumably as conduits for Ganon to enter. Monsters become more hostile and organized. Report any monster sightings to your nearest Guard Office. Status: Reported
Magic as a whole becomes weakened. Magical spells and barriers require more power to maintain, as their magic is drained for Ganon's use. Please consult your doctor before attributing magical failure to Calamity. Status: Unconfirmed
The Lost Woods expand, luring in more unsuspecting travelers. Passage near Aboda Province's Deku Forest is unadvised. Status: Confirmed
Worldwide outbreak of fairies is observed. Fairies have been known to appear in times of natural disaster, but non-Calamity fairy outbreaks are almost entirely localized to the disaster. ALERT: Fairy fever is on the rise. If you have any known allergies to fairy dust, please stay away from gardens and large outdoor areas unaccompanied. Consult your doctor about fairy fever medication. Report increased fairy sightings to the Interprovincial Fairy Hotline. Status: Confirmed
Death Mountain erupts, while otherwise dormant for centuries at a time. Report any seismic activity in the Crenel Province to the Death Mountain Watch website. Status: Unconfirmed
The Blood Moon rises on an inconsistent schedule. The regular schedule for Blood Moon appearances is twice a year. Status: Unconfirmed
The Master Sword glows when the Hero draws near. If you or anyone you know bears the Mark of the Gods on their dominant hand, please call the Hyrule Crisis Hotline to set up a verification appointment. Status: Unconfirmed
Weak points in reality between realms wear thin, leading to (but not limited to) - Mirages - Bottomless pits - Small temporal anomalies - Hidden grottos - Access to Great Fairy fountains Please note that Great Fairy fountains themselves are not an indicator of upcoming Calamity, as fairy fountains can appear intermittently throughout Hyrule; rather, the consistent location of fairy fountains should be regarded with caution. ON BOTTOMLESS PITS: If you or anyone you know falls into what you think may be a bottomless pit, call your local Guard Office for assistance. Bottomless pits violently eject what has been thrown into them, and impact may cause injury. Status: Reported
Monster infestation of places containing notable divine power. Some monsters may gorge themselves on the available magic and become large and dangerous. Archaeology expeditions have been placed on hiatus until further notice. Status: Reported
Reports of the above-mentioned activity should be reported directly to the Hyrulean Crisis Hotline as quickly as possible. Evacuation assistance is readily available 24/7.
If you or a loved one has been impacted negatively by the return of Ganon, you may be entitled to financial compensation.
NOTE: ANY AND ALL REPORTS OF THE PRINCESS BEARING THE MARK WILL BE IGNORED, AND REPORTS BLACKLISTED. It is common knowledge that High Princess Zelda CCCXCVIII bears the Mark of the Gods.
This message has been approved by the Calamity Watch, official first responders of the Greater Commonwealth of Hyrule.

Febuwhump Day 14: Bloodstained tiles
CW: Blood, injury, aftermath of battle, underage whumpee (Wind)
AO3
---
Warriors had always had a routine of counting after a battle. Counting keeps taken and held. Counting enemy leaders slain or captured. Counting casualties. Those could all be done through reports, but there was one thing he had to count for himself: how many of his closest friends had survived.
It was selfish and didn't help the resentful looks he could always feel on his back, but he had to know for himself.
There was Wild helping to scour the battlefield for useful materials. One. Twilight and Sky helping the medics with triage. Two and three. Time talking to Impa and Zelda. He should be with them, but he waved a greeting and kept walking and counting. Four, five, six. He'd join them when his count was ten or when he was sure it wouldn't be. Four directing a group of men as they moved some rubble. Seven. Legend and Hyrule sitting on a fallen wall, Legend bandaging Hyrule's arm. They both waved and Hyrule gave a reassuring thumbs-up, so Warriors gave one of his own and kept going. Eight and Nine.
As he criss-crossed the battlefield, he couldn't find Wind. When he saw the others again, he asked them, but none of them had seen him either and the search spread as best it could.
Warriors tried to be clear: he wasn't saying Wind's safety should be prioritized. He wasn't saying that small shoulders he'd slung his scarf over in camp and bright eyes that shone with admiration at his stories were inherently worth more than any of his men who had families who loved them. But in his heart he knew that there was a lot of loss he could bear more easily than a gap by the Chain's campfire. Especially if that gap came from the death of Wind, who was so much too young.
There was one place he hadn't looked yet. They'd not needed to call on the nearby Great Fairy for this battle. Her spring lay dark and dormant a little way away and Wind wouldn't even necessarily have known what it was; there hadn't been much time for sightseeing before the Chain was caught up in combat. In fact, he didn't think he'd even pointed it out to any of them.
All the more reason to check it himself.
He hardly dared to hope as he hurried over to the hidden spring and ducked through the entrance. He didn't much like coming to these places and only came when he had to, but this definitely fell into that category.
It was lit by a dim glow that seemed to come from the walls and ceiling themselves. The light was just bright enough for him to see something dark smeared on the tiled floor. He gasped and rushed forward, following the stains down the dark corridor.
In the doorway, there was a much larger puddle. He looked at it for a moment with his heart in his mouth, then followed a smeared trail with his eyes. It led towards the pool at the far end of the room.
He swallowed hard and followed, eyes on the shimmering, ever-moving water, looking for any stain.
Any sign of someone lying at the bottom of the pool.
That had been a lot of blood, especially considering Wind's size. If he'd fallen in…
"Hey, Wars…"
He'd been so focussed on looking for a body under the surface that he'd not even noticed the figure propped up against the side and when Wind's voice broke the silence Warriors startled, his hand going to his sword. Only then did he see the half-shadowed face just under the lip of the pool. Wind was almost entirely submerged, but he was sitting up, smiling weakly.
"Wind!" Warriors dropped to his knees by the side of the pool. "Are you OK? We're searching all over for you!"
"Better than I was…" His voice was weak and hoarse. "I remembered about fairy fountain water having healing powers. I made it to the door and then fairies dragged me the rest of the way." He grinned. "Your fairies are incredible."
Warriors grinned back through the tears in his eyes. "They certainly are."

Y'all Hyrule is BIG. Outside of fast travel with the slate or swapping horses out, it would take days to travel across the continent. Zelda isn't getting to the Spring of Wisdom in a day.
Tumblr media
Korok Forest (black line): Hyrule Castle bridge to Boneyard Bridge to Helmhead Bridge to Woodland Stable to the platform in front of the Great Deku Tree: 33 hrs 10 min
Goron City (orange line): Hyrule Castle Bridge to Orsedd Bridge to Thims Bridge to Foothill Stable to Bludo's house: 65 hrs 15 min
Spring of Power (pink line): Hyrule Castle Bridge to Orsedd Bridge to Thims Bridge to Akkala Span to Shadow Pass to where the trail splits for Skull Lake to the Spring of Power (last stage was cross country): 66 hrs 30 min
Akkala Citadel (red line): Hyrule Castle Bridge to Orsedd Bridge to Thims Bridge to Akkala Span to Akkala Citadel: 45 hrs 10 min
Zora's Domain (blue line): Hyrule Castle Bridge to Orsedd Bridge to Thims Bridge to Inogo Bridge to Mipha's statue: 59 hrs 20 min
Kakariko (purple line): Hyrule Castle Bridge to Sacred Ground Ruins to Mabe Prairie to Rebonae Bridge to Sahasra Slope to the stairs in front of Impa's house: 27 hrs 20 min
Spring of Wisdom (purple line): Hyrule Castle Bridge to Sacred Ground Ruins to Mabe Prairie to Rebonae Bridge to Sahasra Slope to Great Fairy Fountain to Lanayru Promenade to Lanayru Road - East Gate to Naydra Snowfield around Mount Lanayru to platform in front of the goddess statue in the Spring of Wisdom: 52 hrs 10 min
Hateno (white line): Hyrule Castle Bridge to Sacred Ground Ruins to Gatepost Town Ruins to Proxim Bridge to Big Twin Bridge to Fort Hateno to the gate of Hateno: 55 hrs 40 min
Spring of Courage (green line):  Hyrule Castle Bridge to Sacred Ground Ruins to Gatepost Town Ruins to Bridge of Hylia to Faron Woods to Zonai Ruins to platform in front of the goddess statue in the Spring of Courage: 44 hrs 30 min
Gerudo Town (yellow line): Hyrule Castle Bridge to Giant's Forest (pretty much straight south, then turned west at the Great Plateau) to Digdogg Suspension Bridge to Gerudo Town: 74 hrs 5 min
Rito Village (brown line): Hyrule Castle Bridge to Carok Bridge to Tabantha Great Bridge to the arch guarded by Mazli at the base of the stairs into Rito Village: 63 hrs 15 min
Royal Ancient Lab Ruins (gray line): Hyrule Castle Bridge to Carok Bridge to Royal Ancient Lab Ruins: 20 hrs 50 min
*these routes follow the shortest/most direct roads, doesn't go cross country unless it's unavoidable (like when approaching the springs) or unless it looks like a road was there pre-Calamity (like the Sahasra Slope); the exception is the Spring of Courage, where I didn't see any obvious route; I'm guessing they either did some climbing and cross country hiking, or rafted up the Dracozu River
*this is the slowest walking speed I could get - any slower and Link stopped moving, but I think it's still faster than the walking speed shown in the memories, especially #3 (Resolve and Grief) - pushing the left stick all the way forward results in what looks like jogging, not walking
*this doesn't include time for sheltering from inclement weather, sleep, making/breaking camp, rest/meal breaks, monster attacks, walking slower due to changes in elevation (the hike to Goron City has to be brutal) - it's literally a walking pace straight through

It is done!
I've finally completed many month (maybe even over a year) mission of listening to all the zelda OSTs in release order (now it did take ages cuz i would spend forever between each ost and the longer ones would take so long to get through)
I compiled all my favorite tracks into one massive playlist, as well as covers that i like!
Now i am going to go over each ost and say my thoughts on them! Ill also be mentioning one or two tracks from each game that were really notable for me
(I didn't listen to Twilight princess or Spirit tracks because i dont want spoilers for when i play them)
The legend of Zelda:
The ost for this game is 9 mins long, drastic difference to totk with many MANY hours of music
Obviously a classic, the overworld theme. I really like the "game over" theme, its nice but the ringing of the NES boops hurts my ears so much
Adventure of Link:
I really like the final dungeon theme and the battle theme, so good to just jam to
A Link to the past:
Not much to say here, it set a bunch of classics, dark world theme is super good though and the great fairy fountain theme will always be welcome whenever i hear it, either as the great fairy or as the title screen (tbh i prefer it more as the title screen theme) and the title screen theme! When that bursts out i wanna scream, It fills me with so much nostalgia for this series as a whole
Link's awakening:
Now this one is difficult, because this game is my favorite game out of the games i haven't played just plot wise, but for some reason listening to the music was just super tiring for no reason. Now i was listening to the gameboy version but i tried the swith version and it was also tiring and tedious to listen to?? Im going to go through the switch version ost at some point in time.
You can never go wrong with tal tal hights though, and the ballad of the windfish is just 😭
Ocarina of time:
Im afraid to say anything on it because of the fans of it XD i did play a tiny bit of the game but got to Zora's domain as a child and stopped
Obviously it has a great soundtrack, it has a ton more classics like gerudo valley and such. I like Sheik's theme. The fire temple i am aware is controversial and i think that's the reason it makes me so unnerved when i listen to either version of it
My absolute favorite though is Song of storms (or windmill hut). The first time i heard it, it just stuck with me and i am taken in by it, it luls me, its like magic, im enraptured by it. I don't know what it is about this 20 second theme but i can listen to this on repeat for hours, its one of the first things i learned on piano, when i played the game i just stood in the windmil hut for ages. Such a good track...
Majora's mask:
SUCH an earie ost! I have been wanting to play this game forever. The vibes the ost is just perfect for this game. Clock town is obviously good and its cool how it gets more and more frantic as time goes on, you really feel like time is running out. Overall i think the whole soundtrack does amazingly at embodying this idea.
Oracle of Ages and Seasons:
The two tracks are very similar rhat i can't eeally do these two games separately. For some reason i have a bias towards seasons despite not playing either or really knowing the story??
I love that seasons has song of storms (for some reason), skull pirate's escape is good (oos), ambi's place (ooa) noice, Nayru's song is so nice, and i adore the "Zelda awakens" theme that's in both of them
I love how the tracks for these went back to the boopy style, it makes the themes just has a certain feel that i cannot put words to that feels so right. I have the feeling that when i play these games im going to have a great time with them
Wind waker:
Tbh, not for me, the style of the music is just not the kind of thing i like. Doesnt mean it doesnt have really good tracks though!! Cannot go wrong with dragon roost and i do like a track that i cannot remember the name of (but tbh that is just mostly because i really like the beat) and the Great Sea sailing theme does sound so freeing, you can feel the wind in your hair with that track. Its just that the rest of the music style is just not something i dig so much, its just a personal opinion.
Four swords:
I forgot about this game, and could not recall the ost at all. Had to open sime tracks again to listen to and tbh all i can say is... meh? The ost isn't too great... gotta give it credit for it's version of the overworld theme thoug, possibly one of the better different renditions?
Minish cap:
A cute little game, dont remember much of the soundtrack but i have quite a few saved from it so it must count for something, and i really like the "story" theme whenever i hear it and Mt. Crenel is okay
Phantom hourglass:
Again, it has a similar style to wind waker and i didn't really like it. Linebeck's theme though, what a wonderful character! ("Return of the Ocean King" is also decent)
Spirit tracks:
I did not listen to this soundtrack but the ost is just *chefs kiss* from the ones ive heard. The tracks "the sacred duet" and "battle with king Malladus" are the tracks that made me desperately want to play this game and i am still longing to play it because of these two tracks. I love how throughout the Malladus battle theme there is the constant chugging of the train on the track. I have no doupt that the rest of the ost will be this amazing. (The title theme is perfect, you really feel like you are on a racing train) ive since listened to "in the fields" and ooooooh i love ittttt i so cannot wait to play this game!
Skyward sword:
Man you KNOW i can ramble about this forever. My favorite Zelda game! I cannot put into words how much this game's ost makes me feel all of the emotions in the world, i can only list a few tracks that make me feel so much oooough
Ballad of the goddess (obviously), Romance in the air makes me all fluttery and happy, skyloft theme always feels like home, any version of fi's theme puts me in tears, Groose's theme he is such a silly guy, the loftwing flying theme is so nostalgic, Ghirahim's theme is so menacing, all the Lanayru tracks have such a certain zen feel, silent realm theme's have such a frantic echoey empty perfect feel to them which fit so well, and the guardians awaken theme will make me have a heart attack, and the song of the hero has so many feelings ive talked about before, so much that this track alone made me make a painting for the scene.
This game just stepped into another feel of zelda music with the orchestra, and it captures the grandios of this big, timeline setting adventure so amazingly. I cannot get enough of this game. Arguably one of the best Zelda OSTs in my opinion.
A Link between worlds:
Such a good ost in this game. Dunno what i can say apart for it is one of the better ost's in the series for some tracks alone. Ravio's theme, Hilda's theme, Yuga's theme, Lorule overworld, all the milkbar tracks (the fact that there is also ballad of the godess in there makes me so happy as well), so much of the game's ost is so good!
Triforce heroes:
Such a surprisingly great ost for a game that sounds so much like a fever dream. The main theme?!?!? The woodlands?!?!?!?!? I cannot stop listening to these two such a bop, go listen to them!
Breath of the wild:
Botw has no music???? What the heck???
The tracks are so good! Even all the ambient piano flourishes! It fits the atmosphere so well, but you've probably heared people saying all this before so onto some of my favorite tracks
All the champion's themes fit each one so well, main theme cannot not be good, i lobe how Tarrey Town's theme builds up with each character's home town. The divine beast themes are really cool sounding. Parasailing minigame theme is so fun! Guardian theme will also give me a heart attack, the memory get jingle, i miss Kass and his music so much, Korok forest is so :D, HYRULE CASTLE IS SO GOOD OH MY i love the marching feel. Dark. Beast. Ganon. THIS THEME IS CRAZY BRO that piano!??!!?? All the everything going together?!??!!? This fight may be a victory lap and super easy but it sure as hell has some fire music!!!
Tears of the kingdom:
I finally finished this ost today. It reuses a lot from botw, and tbh it is a little dissapointing how none of the village themes changed even if it does feel safe and familiar, and the surface is largely the exact same even though it is where we spend so much of our time.
There are obviously amazing tracks original to this game though. The main theme was so amazing to hear in full after so long of waiting! So was the prologue theme ("poor Hyrule, for Link has found the body" remember that???) All the dungeon themes have me in awe alongside the sage themes. Each one just fills me with so much ough. The dungeons and their themes were definatly a massive step up from the previous game. I ranked all the sage themes before in another post and go deeper into each one. Link humming while cooking is so cute! The big "BWAAA" when diving into the depths feels so cool and creepy. One of my favorite details is that in the forgotten temple, next to the goddess statue you can hear a broken up version of Fi's theme which im so happy for the sksw ref! It also supports my favorite hc that the forgotten temple is the sealed grounds from sksw! (As well as the reward you get fron that quest but we aren't talking abiut that)
!!!!End spoilers next!!!!!
In the lead up to the final dive into ganondorf's army, the track reminds me of Skyrim and it really does not fit in Zelda. I feel like they shouldn't have used that track. Ganondorf's fight theme is so cool, how at first it is quiet to just hear you two dueling in an echoey room and them builds up. AND HOW CAN YOU FORGET THE FINAL FALL?!?!?!? Such a PERFECT END its amazing how is blends so smoothly to create the perfect scene, all your emotions building up to the end!!! Such a perfect ending to the game. All the music in the end sequence in the Hyrule castle chasm really does do an amazing job of dialing up and down the tension and emotions at the right moments and building up everything until the very end when the credits start rolling.
Overall the ost is great considering all the new tracks!
So that is all the games (other than tp and st)!
Now on to all of the non-cannon games! 🥲

Deviating from my usual setting and hat style but I wanted to share this video I took at the Renaissance Festival. The week before going, I had practically no time to practice all the new songs I had learned since I was busy crafting my own Master Sword (and sheath), sewing my Link hat, and painting my Hylian ears. Still, despite all the mistakes I made while playing for my fellow LoZ fans, I had such a great time.
Soon after this video was taken, I visited the mermaid aquarium and serenaded the mermaids there with this same song. It was such a magical moment!

Almost done!! Just one more Hero and then I can start working on the Zeldas or NPCs. May draw some interactions as well or redraw scenes from the games using my designs, like I've seen others do, If there's a specific interest in one or the other let me know in an ask.
There won't be as much for Healer, may change name to Mage, because I am not as familiar with the games.
Despite this Leil remained adventurous and grew their skills in magic and traveled between the hidden fairy fountains to pass messages and check in on family. During one of these trips they run into Impa, someone who worked closely with royal family before they fell, and he takes her to one of the caves that the fairies have been using as they traverse hidden, though the tunnels between caves are too small for Hylians to traverse.
FAIRY BORN HERO
Leil was born to one of the few "Great Fairies" who remained after the fall of the hero and the rise of Ganon. During this time in the timeline there were no true settlements as the populace of Hyrule remained in hiding, for fear of Ganon's power as he contained a member of the fallen royal family within his lair.
Impa explains what the princess did as her last attempt of protecting Hyrule and Leil offers to help. With Impa's direction, Leil traveled across Hyrule and gathered the broken fragments of the Triforce of Wisdom.
In the end, using their magic and the items they gained on their journey Leil was able to defeat Ganon and free Zelda, a descendant to the fallen royal family, from Ganon. From there Zelda works with Impa to start rebuilding Hyrule.
It is a few years after his first adventure that Leil gains a strange mark on the back of his hand. He travels to the rebuilding palace and finds Impa and Zelda who he had saved on his previous journey as well as another. This individual introduces themselves as Ahgin Daltus Hyrule, father to Zelda. Leil shows them their hand and Ahgin explains the Triforce and the history, and how his sister was attacked by a follower of Ganon, looking to gain power of the Triforce to waken their master. When she refused to reveal its location the follower of Ganon had cursed Ahgin's sister into a deep sleep. Ahgin has killed Ganon's follower but still his sister had remained asleep. Only by reuniting the peices of the Triforce that Leil had with the fragments of the Triforce of Courage that were hidden in a number of temples around Hyrule.
ANOTHER PRINCESS
As the kingdom was rebuilt Leil worked on their magic further, finding a way to cast an illusion that would be able to hide their fairy features that remained while in their larger "Hylian" form. This illusion hide his wing and tail from view while also altering his hair and skin to help them further blend in with the now growing populace of Hyrule.
Leil receives six crystals that act as keys and from there the followers of Ganon start attacking Leil and they are forced to to hide themself further whenever they enter one of the rebuilt settlements as the populace of Hyrule fear the monsters that would arrive should they follow Leil into town.
In the end Leil is able to rebuild the whole Triforce and returns to the palace to wake Ahgin's sister, also named Zelda but upon waking up she chooses to go by her middle name Aurelia to avoid confusion
Leil instead returns to the wild and spends most of their time travelling between the Fairy fountains just like they did before their journey started, though they are unable to avoid the royals completely considering they will look for them on occasion to ensure that Leil is still doing well.
A HERO AVOIDED
Even after the fall of Ganon and Aurelia's return the populace of Hyrule avoid their Hero due to the fear of Ganon's return or the wrath of those who Follow Ganon attacking people who would house or help them. Due to this Leil limits any time he spends within any settlements as well as the palace, even though the royals within have shown no hatred towards their presence.

For @rangels
I was the pinch-hitter for Rangels. I chose prompt 3 which was: I take anything. And I’ll cherish it. I ended up choosing this prompt because I wanted to do this idea I had and to make it into a moldboard and playlist.

In this AU, Tony and Pepper end up breaking off their engagement but are still best friends. Tony survives at the end of Endgame because the Guardians of the Galaxy remember what they did when Peter held the Power Stone. Tony’s got some damage to his right arm as bad that he loses it. He does a lot of physical/occupational therapy to get any movement back in his hand and hand. Tony is retired but he still plans to train Harley to take over in the future for the iron suit.
Tony is at home in his small mansion and is bored, so he decides to get a switch cuz Peter-Man once mentioned it before the Blip and he’s heard about the new Animal Crossing game, New Horizons, and Fire Emblem Three Houses. Breath of the Wild was already out a few years ago, but he decided to also get that cuz open world. It also helps that he’s able to use the controls as a way to help with coordination for his right hand.
(LET’S PRETEND THAT THOSE GAMES CAME OUT A FEW WEEKS BEFORE ENDGAME OKAY. WE ARE ALSO GOING TO PRETEND THAT NINTENDO ALREADY CAME UP WITH THE NOVEMBER 5 BIG UPDATE FOR ANIMAL CROSSING AND ANY DLCS FOR IT, FIRE EMBLEM THREE HOUSES. BOTW HAS ALREADY BEEN OUT SO ANY DLCs ARE ALREADY AVAILABLE)
Tony ends up getting both games and is learning to just chill and relax without getting too anxious about what’s happening superhero-wise. He’s actually having fun with video games. Stephen visits Tony and they just hang out with each other, almost every other day because Tony has a schedule of who is visiting on which day, but he likes it when Stephen visits outside of his scheduled day. Stephen also gets to learn who Tony really is, because, in those 14,000,605 futures that he saw, he only saw what Tony was like in those fives years until the end.
(Stephen only sees that one future where Tony dies, so he thinks that he just sent Tony to his doom, he doesn’t take into account the quick jumpstart of the memory of the Guardians with the power stone)
Anyways, he learns what Tony is like after those five years and slowly they end up falling in love with each other, Stephen falls in love all over again as he fell in love with the Tony from all those 14,000605 futures and not the Tony after Endgame.

Termina Ganondorf
Majora’s Mask was made in around a year, so many assets from the game it was a sequel to (Ocarina of Time) were reused, making the new setting of Termina a parallel world of sorts. Initially, a fishing hole minigame was planned, but was cut due to time constraints. However, files found in the code of the game suggest that the model of Ganondorf, the main villain of Ocarina of Time, was going to be used for the character who would run the fishing hole. The fishing hole would be added in the 3DS remake, but without Ganondorf being included.
Unicorn Fountain
Tumblr media
The Unicorn Fountain was an area shown in some pre-release material. It is likely that it was just an early version of the Great Fairy's Fountain, but over the years many theories have proliferated. These include that it was to be the location where you would get the sword beam, where you would get the Triforce, that is was in an alcove in Zora's Domain, and that it was planned to be part of the Nintendo 64 Disk Drive expansion to Ocarina of Time.

Legend of Zelda Theme Park - Lost Woods
Tumblr media
(I'm going to try this new thing where I shade part of the overall park map an appropriate color to show which area I'm talking about.)
The Lost Woods covers the southeastern corner of the park (corresponding to the Triforce of Courage) and, to suit its role as a vibrant enchanted forest, is the most lushly planted area of the park. Roughly a third of its footprint is devoted to planters filled with live trees, shrubs, and flowers, represented by the stippled shapes on the detailed map below. The artificial structures housing attractions, shops, and eateries are dressed to resemble hollow trees and caves. Most dramatic of all is the Great Deku Tree himself, rising well above the rest of the features in the area.
Tumblr media
Attractions
Spirit Train (Forest Station): One of the stations for the Spirit Train (see the Castle Town writeup) can be found here.
Picori Picnic Park: Inspired by The Minish Cap, this is an ideal spot to take a break from all the running around and eat lunch (and let the kids do more running around). A well-shaded area of picnic tables and benches sits alongside an elaborate playground, and everything is in the shape of giant flowers, leaves, mushrooms, and other objects to make you feel as though you've shrunk to Minish-size! There are also statues of Minish that guests can pose with for photos, and giant stumps and logs with windows to peer into to watch Minish going about their lives at home.
Koroks in Concert: Inside a huge hollow stump is a tiny theater-in-the-round where dozens of animatronic Koroks put on a musical revue! Some of the tunes in the 15-minute program will be familiar to anyone who has played the right games, but others are unique to this show. Guests are prompted to sing along with the grand finale and in so doing, encourage the Deku sprout in the center to grow!
The Great Deku Tree: He's not a ride, nor exactly a show, but the guardian spirit of the Lost Woods is an impressive sight all the same. He continually grumbles and sighs and makes different expressions as he watches over the forest, and his spreading crown (the dashed outline shows its rough extent) is made from a system of hollow twigs and retractable artificial leaves in a variety of colors, so that his foliage can shift with the seasons. Moreover, he serves as the entrance to another attraction entirely...
Lost Woods Labyrinth: The largest attraction footprint in the Lost Woods belongs not to a ride, but a walkthrough—a “maze” that you can't actually get lost in. Entered through the base of the Great Deku Tree's trunk, the labyrinth winds in a convoluted fashion through a fantastical landscape of forest groves and small caves, with occasional branching paths that encourage repeat visits. The majority of the maze is located inside an enclosed show building, though ample skylights keep the ambient light levels synced with the outdoors for that extra bit of authenticity. The path takes guests through a variety of whimsical, mystical, and eerie forest scenes, from simple wild animals going about their lives to spider webs with scuttling Skulltulas to a Great Fairy Fountain. Some scenes include interactive elements--motion sensors cause Deku Scrubs to pop up and spit water, or a scene of Koroks at play includes a pushbutton that makes more of them descend into view on their little leaf-propellers.
The Grove of the Master Sword: At the exit of the labyrinth, guests have the choice to return to the main area of the Lost Woods...or take a picturesque but unlabeled path that leads to a quiet grove with a marble dais in the center, carved with the symbol of the Triforce and the emblems of its three virtues of Power, Courage, and Wisdom. And in the center of that is the pedestal where the Master Sword waits to be claimed by the Hero. You can try to draw it if you like. Do you think you're worthy? (Is this basically a ripoff of Disneyland's Sword in the Stone? Yes. Is the whole Master Sword stuck in a pedestal already a ripoff of Arthurian legend anyway? Also yes.) Another unlabeled path leads directly between the grove and the main area, and a third connects it with Epona Ranch. There are many ways to discover the Master Sword if you're willing to explore the unknown.
Skull Kid's Dash-n-Twist: This “mad mouse” style roller coaster is themed around the concept of chasing the mischievous Skull Kid through the forest treetops, with dangerous forest monsters popping up at every turn! Is he leading you to safety or hoping the Babas and Peahats will dispose of you?
Deku Gliders: This is a carousel-type ride with suspended cars shaped as if made from leaves, flowers, and twigs. The central mechanism is shaped like a huge flower, and the “stalk” extends upward when the ride begins, giving riders an elevated view of the surrounding area.
Shops
9. Outfitted For Adventure: If you didn't manage to pull the Master Sword, never fear—this shop has you covered with toy and prop weapons (including replica Master Swords, we're not stupid, we know what the people want), as well as souvenir clothing, hats, fanny packs, pouches, canteens, walking sticks, and other simple gear items for outdoorsy and adventurous types. Themed as a small, torchlit cave in honor of the one where Link was gifted his first ever sword at the very beginning of the franchise, the shop has that scene's famous slogan painted prominently on one wall in the classic NES lettering: “It's dangerous to go alone! Take this!”
10. The Fairy Fountain: Found one cave over from Outfitted For Adventure, this shop carries all things fairy-related, from books and art prints to dolls and “shoulder pet” fairy toys.
11. Figurine Gallery: Another feature inspired by The Minish Cap, this kiosk built into the side of a tree (the structure is artificial, but the roof is basically a big planter for real shrubs), sells hand-carved wooden figures and decorative items, no two identical! Limited customization (color stains, a name etched or burned into a figurine base, etc.) is available on some items and can usually be completed while you wait.
12. Flower Cart: This is also a small retail location, selling all kinds of silk flowers and flower crowns. Many of them are generic, but others are made to resemble the fictitious flowers that occur in certain LoZ games—many colors of Pico Blooms (The Minish Cap), Silent Princess (Breath of the Wild), and even Bomb Flowers (various) with light-up “wicks.”
Eateries
13. Minish Mini-Nosh: If you didn't bring your own lunch to the Picori Picnic Park, you can pick up something tasty at this fast casual eatery specializing in “miniature” food—bite-sized sandwiches, “baby” vegetables, “Minish-kabobs,” and more! Get them a la carte for a quick snack or mix and match a combo for a full meal!
14. Hollo’s Hollow: A callback to the potion-making Korok in The Wind Waker, this is a beverage shop much like Castle Town’s Potion Hut. Also on offer are healthy snacks such as whole-grain crackers, trail mix, and fresh fruit. Conveniently located right next door to Koroks in Concert so you can have something to wet your whistle while you enjoy the show.
15. Saria’s Bakery: Named for Link's sweet and spunky childhood bestie from Ocarina of Time and located inside a huge hollow stump, this bakery offers a wide selection of rolls, buns, muffins, cookies, cupcakes, and other baked goods. Specialties include Kokiri Fairy Cakes (frosted pale blue and adorned with sugar wings) and a honey butter blend that's terrific on all kinds of savory bread. Everything is made on-site and guaranteed fresh!
Miscellaneous
You might notice some unlabeled circles on the map. These are artificial tree structures that don't house any publicly available feature--instead they are used as storage sheds, small employee break rooms, and general ambience.
