Honestly the quality of the fanfiction depends so much on the piece of media itself and whether or not it lends itself to fanfiction. There r several indicators on whether a fandom is gonna have good fanfiction or not.
1) The size of the cast of characters. If the piece of media has a fairly large cast of characters then there's likely to be a wide range of tropes and pairings and there's more opportunity of things like found family, which is always popular as well as lots of different ships. The main cast doesn't have to be that big (like it could be 4-6 characters), but as long as there r lots of recurring semi-important side characters, then you're good. The characters should also be quite interesting and distinct.
2) The length of the piece of media. The length shouldn't be intimidating, but with plenty of plot and character development for canon, then there's more to write about and it can inspire fix it fics or canon divergence aus. This is why TV shows and book series' tend to have better and more fanfiction than singular movies and books.
3) The canon plot and world. The best pieces of media for the best fanfiction tend to have a similar world to our own that just has one fundamental difference, such as that it has magic, monsters or superheros etc. This makes writing the fic easier as the world is easier to understand and it also makes the canon media itself more accessible therefore inviting more fans in the first place. A complex world or one that's the exact same as our own with no special setting (such as a cool school or town, even if there's nothing fantastical about them) can give people less to write about. This leads me onto the plot. Although a large amount of fanfiction readers read for ships, it's best if the piece of media is not romance focused and is maybe of another genre primarily, such as Sci fi or fantasy. Romance can be a subplot but having it not as the main focus gives the writers much more flexibility in terms of shipping and reworking the plot as well as aus. Subplots that focus on the characters and their relationships are always a good thing for fanfiction.
4) Of course the obvious ones such as popularity and whether or not the fandom is dead. Obviously the more popular, the more writers there will be, the more headcanons there will be, the more tropes there will be. Although dead fandoms can have good fanfiction, as time goes on the fanfiction community grows and evolves. People now know that 3rd person is generally preferred to read over 1st person and that making the girl who "gets in the way" of the gay ship a horrible person is really boring and misogynistic and making her and ally and friend is more fun and less sexist. I see this wayyyyy more in newer fanfiction.
To sum up, here are the best types of media that cater towards fanfiction:
Multiple seasons or books in the series. However, TV shows r best since TV tends to be shown more in the spotlight as they are often made by more people and having larger corporations involved like netflix, therefore boosting it's popularity and having the ability to do more advertising.
Not being romance oriented and having a more gen plot, such as defeating an evil villain. Having subplots that revolve around the characters, their struggles and relationships.
Having a slightly different world to our own for the writers to play around with.
Having lots of characters to root for and to project on whilst still having a main cast to get to know really well. These characters should also be interesting and distinct.
Here are some pieces of media that therefore lend themselves really well to fanfiction: Harry Potter (this includes marauders as even though the fandoms and fanfiction is different, they take place in the same world. Ngl marauders is a great show of how we'll Harry Potter caters to fanfiction), marvel and my hero academia. There are so many others but those are the ones I think of off the top of my head.
Here are some indicators that the piece of media won't have good fanfiction:
If there's just one or two main characters that are kinda bland and no other characters that really have much screen time.
If the piece of media is a singular movie or book.
If the setting and world is uninteresting or doesn't have an importance in the story.
If there's only one big plot line and it's either solely romance, or just shows defeating evil and doesn't give much depth to the characters. A good balance is always the key to good fanfiction.
Lmao so next time you want to start reading fanfiction for a new fandom, think about these things to save yourself the possible disappointment of finding less than 500 works🥴

Late to the game but 16, 30, and 37 if you're still playing Fic Writer Questions! ❤
Yes, I'm still playing! :DD I just finished a task and am taking a break before tackling the next, so this is very welcome! ♥
16. What’s an AU you would love to read (or have read and loved)?
So many! I am very partial to I'd say three tropes that are always a win for me: arranged marriage AUs, especially if there's an element of danger involved that needs to be overcome (their marriage might be arranged, but they got to work for their relationship), "post apocalyptic" AUs focusing not on the major apocalyptic event but the aftermath, the rebuilding efforts in particular (so EndVerse AU once the threat is gone for example? Would love that. I think it's about community and hope after disaster that attracts me.) And of course, last but not least; coffee shop AU where you least expect it - take a random trope and throw a coffee shop in it. They're pirates on the high sea, but then they come across a coffee shop ship, that's just hanging out. Deserted island? No there's a coffee shop called "Desserted" on it. Stuff like that. I just enjoy a bit of silly fun with genre and expectations~)
30. Have you ever written something that was out of your comfort zone? If so, what was it, and how did it affect your approach to writing fic thereafter?
Hm, no, I don't think so. I'm a bit of a comfort seeker when writing, I think, even though I enjoy torment. There are uncomfortable topics I deal with IRL that I work through with fanfic, but there are certain things that I dare not approach explicitly. (One example: I am autistic but I wouldn’t dare to write a fic that centers a character’s autism or is tagged as such.) However, the story I hope to write soon will tackle two things that are out of my comfort zone and I'm curious to see how it'll go. :D
37. Promote one of your own “deep cut” fics (an underrated one, or one that never got as much traction as you think it deserves!). What do you like about it?
Oooh. I don't actually know. I write niche stuff and taking that into account my fics are relatively well received (and those that weren't I'm not sure I would call them underrated *lol*)
One of my faves that is pretty niche but I still think of fondly is "Black Dove", my first DCBB and the one I poured the most work into, even though it might not be obvious when reading ;3 I like that it's a case fic, set in canon and picking up on an "updated" (deteriorated if that's even possible) end Verse situation. I used this fic to work through my issues with season 6. I think if I made certain changes then it would have been better received! (Cas doesn't have to shape shift into a female version for the fic to work. I could have easily cut that out. I was just too drunk on my power and wanted to add it *lol*) One of the things I like the most in the fic is Frank ;D And one of the things I like the least is its open end. It’s generally pretty bleak for the characters that Dean leaves behind in the alternative 2014. I wanted to go back to this fic and write the "fix it" second part for years but never did.
I would love to rewrite/ edit this story, but I'm not sure how to go about it because the original version is also good, just... very 2012 me. If anyone has any advice on how to tackle making “editions” of your work, let me know! Do you just edit? Do you tell your readers that you’re going to be making extensive edits so they should save a version of the fic as it is if they want to? Hm hm hm.
Thank you for providing this interesting distraction! If anyone else wants to give me something to look forward to while I edit my cover letter for a scholarship application, be my guest! (The cover letter is 3 pages long, much of it is a mess. I want it to be one page. Can it be done? We'll see!)

HELLO IT IS I AND I HAVE COME HERE TO TELL U I'VE READ DEUS IN ABSENTIA (I hope I spelled that correctly). AND OH MY GOD IT'S SO WHAUENEICOAPAHSOAOXNXN HEAVENLY AJSJEODKOD👹👹👹👹
OMG IT WAS SO GOOD LIKE OFC DOTTORE BEING DOTTORE THE START WAS ROCKY considering he's a villain duh but I'm fine with that, actually I love it lmao BUT I LOVE HOW EVEN IF WE WERE SCARED (cause dottore), we didn't cower in fear but at the same time we didn't act stupid by being stubborn 😭 (I've read way too many fics with this situation and sometimes I just can't). It's a perfect mix of being respectful and being firm WHAT I'M SAYING IS READER IS CAPABLE AND I LOVE THAT YAY (I'm bad with words ok, I'm fluent in keyboard smashes)
THE SLOW TRANSITION OF US BEING SKEPTICAL OF DOTTORE'S IDEALS TO US BELIEVING IT RARARARARA im not even gonna lie to u when the whole book was being explained in chapter 4 (5?? 6??) I was riding the train already LIKE I BELIEVE U DOTTORE I BELIEVE U. I was convinced already lmao
THEN WE SMOOCHED oh my god we smooched OMFHSUDUWJSJ WE SMOOCHED RARARARARARA the way it was set up was so soft too im just here giggling and screaming dying toe curling blushing jumping off a cli
Tumblr media
anyways the nickname "archivist". at first i was 😬 archivist and now im 🥰 archivist like yessir im ur archivist KSIDISKAKAKA
BUT THE LAST CHAPTERS I WAS LIKE NO DOTTORE MY BB GIRL NOOOOOO DON'T DO THIS TO ME WE COULD FIX YOU UP WE COULD INSTALL ALEXA INTO YOU PLEASEE DONT LEAVEEEEEE
Tumblr media
then gasp segment is here and we lived happily ever after yay 😭 i mean it when i say it's yay cause a life without- I CANT EVEN SAY IT, IT'S TOO MUCH 🤧
The whole point of this screaming is to say that I am excited for your soulmate au and I found out like these week that there were 2 new chaps already uploaded :') the chapters are good and i can't wait to witness ur big brain has to say to the mic 🎤💥💥
Tumblr media
I'm really glad you enjoyed it!
The reader character in that fic is the one I'm probably proudest of (not that I've written that many multi-chapter reader fics, usually just requests when I offered requests)! I like a capable character, reader or otherwise, it's something I always strive for when writing. I find it more compelling, personally, although there is something to be said for the whole character-growth-of-powerless-to-gaining-power thing.
Pretty sure the Archivist is one of my better reader characters. I might have initially gotten the title idea in place of a name from TMA but it...worked within the story, so...yeah...I’m not a fan of seeing “Y/N” in fic, just a personal preference lol.
Truthfully, if it hadn't been for the leaks and the Lazzo trailer, I wouldn't have known how to end that fic. The clones threw me a curve ball but like...a workable one. Let's just say that, uh, the ending would have been a lot different if not for the segment lore.
My big brain is currently trying to figure out the soulmate AU, I have a single note on my phone that makes sense conceptually. DIA was like...I had An Ending and a Goal in mind when I started the fic. Here? I'm still trying to figure it out. We'll suffer together!
Tumblr media
But I'm really happy to hear you're loving it so far, even though not much has been established yet!

Claws & Fangs 2 - Dreams
Summary: Kaeden had a bunch of weird dreams and wakes up somewhere very strange.
Word count: 1.2k
Warnings: Mentions of pain and injury
A/N: For the purposes of this fic, Kaeden can see her reflection cause she didn't die, so she still has a soul, that's why vampires were thought not to have reflections but I need it for this so it's gonna happen. I don't care if it breaks the rules. This is my fic and I make the rules.
Enjoy!
Claws & Fangs AU Masterpost
________________________________________________________________________________
She was flying.
It was night.
She was flying.
The full moon was bright in the night sky, illuminating the earth below her.
She could see a town she recognized below her. She couldn't remember why it was important though so she just ignored it and flew on through the night.
She ducked into the forest and continued her flight path, she felt oddly drawn to the deepest, darkest thickest depths of the forest.
She flew until she found a cottage tucked away among the trees, a few gardens growing on the ground and, oddly, in the trees around it. The building itself was cozy and warm with a heavenly scent wafting from it.
She swooped down to investigate the cottage. A small window was open, she managed to squeeze her way through and into the cozy, warm darkness of the home.
Her blood was lava.
The fire spread through her body, burning away everything in its path, leaving nothing but scorched, blackened flesh in its place.
Gods it burned!
She was running through the forest, jumping up and around the twisted, gnarled roots, leaping into the air with a shout of excitement.
She had never felt this alive.
Moonlight filtered in through the trees, she jumped into their light and rode the beams of light up into the sky, jumping from one beam of pale light to another.
She howled and raced through the cool night.
Pain erupted in her mouth.
Something was stabbing into her gums.
She tried to cry out but her mouth was heavy with hot blood.
It took Kaeden a very long time to realize that she was indeed alive and awake.
The realization came to her slowly even as she took in her surroundings.
A roaring fireplace was the first thing she consciously noticed.
The soft bed she was on and the warm blankets over her came next.
Wherever she was, it was dark, the only light coming from the fireplace.
She dimly registered some sense of pain in her mouth, but it wasn't that bad, and she was still tired. She yawned, closed her eyes, and let herself drift back to sleep.
XXX
Kaeden fully woke up a bit later.
This time, there was someone with her.
Something large and fluffy was curled around her, and someone was sitting in a chair by the fire.
Something on the person's face twitched and she glanced up from her book, burnt golden gaze fixed on her.
"Oh, you're alive." She said, snapping her book shut.
Whatever was behind her grumbled at the loud noise, shifting into a sitting position.
Tentatively, Kaeden glanced over her shoulder and was face to face with the massive orange wolf from before.
It was always getting bigger.
The wolf stared at her and huffed in her face with an almost playful chuff.
"I'm sure you have a lot of questions." The woman started.
"Yeah I do, what the hell is this?" Kaeden gestured at the massive wolf curled around her.
The wolf scowled…? No wolves couldn't do that, she was projecting onto it.
"I would be a little more thankful to Ahsoka, she saved you." The woman said.
Kaeden glanced back over at her.
"You named a wolf?" She asked.
She was given a slightly irritated glance in response.
"I'm Barriss, Barriss Offee, who are you?" Barriss introduced herself with a polite bow of her head.
"Kaeden Larte…" she said, eying the strange woman with mistrust.
"I'm certain you are very confused about what happened to you, but we'll help you with the side effects." Barriss said sweetly.
Kaeden didn't even have time to ponder what she meant, her thoughts immediately went to her little sister, Miara surely would have returned home and seen the break in by now. She had to let her sister know she was okay.
"How long have I been gone?" She asked.
Barriss was silent, gazing at her with pity.
"Seriously, tell me how long I've been gone, I need to get back to my sister, she's bound to be worried by now! I- I need to- she needs to know- she can't lose anyone else." Kaeden fumbled her words, her mouth felt odd, like she couldn't talk right.
She scrambled to her feet, not even registering the impossibility since she had been brutally mauled before. The wolf rose and backed away from her, blocking off the exit.
Barriss put a gentle hand on her shoulder.
"Kaeden, I know you're worried but you can't go home, not now… maybe never." She spoke softly.
Kaeden chuckled mirthlessly, this was a dream or a delusion, she was probably still bleeding out in the forest. This was nothing but some oxygen lacking fever dream her brain cooked up.
Barriss, as if hearing her thoughts, tightened her grip lightly.
"Kaeden, this is real." She said.
A horrible, sickening snapping came from behind her.
"Just let her look in the mirror and see for herself." That was a new voice.
Kaeden looked over to where the wolf was and-
A woman was standing there instead.
She was about her age, a little taller and had a lithe build. She wore a thick burnt orange fur cape over her shoulders and was leaning against the door with arms crossed.
She had unique white markings tattooed onto her face and arms. Her eyes were that same brilliant blue as the wolf's.
And the annoying owl was there perched on the caped woman's shoulders. Kaeden couldn't help but glare at the stupid little bird.
Wait, see for myself?
"See what for myself?" Kaeden asked, it still felt weird to talk, something was in her mouth she was sure.
The hooded woman looked uncertain, while the caped woman gestured to the fireplace.
A large mirror sat underneath a large portrait painting of a moonlit night.
Kaeden could see the two women with her and herself, only she didn't look like herself.
Her face and arms were covered in healing slashes, her ears, which had been normal just before, were pointed and no longer human in shape and her eyes
They were blood red.
Barriss rested a hand on her shoulder and gave her a sympathetic look.
"Kaeden, I'm afraid something very unfortunate happened to you." She said softly.
Kaeden stared at her reflection, at her new bloody eyes. She couldn't wrap her head around it at all, how could this have happened? People didn't just have brown eyes one day then red the next!
"Did I die?" She asked.
All of this would make a bit more sense if she had, how else would this happen unless she wasn't alive anymore?
"Nah, what happened to you was worse." The caped woman said.
"Ahsoka!" Barriss snapped.
"I don't see the reason for beating around the bush here, just rip the bandage off already." Ahsoka -wasn't the wolf named Ahsoka? She thought that's what she heard but she didn't have it in her to think about that- snapped back.
"What. Happened." She wasn't asking.
The arguing behind her stopped, she could see the two women exchange a glance in the mirror. Barriss sighed and nodded.
"Give us a smile and you'll see." Ahsoka told her.
And she did.
She had thought this couldn't get any weirder, oh how wrong she was.
She had fangs.
It had been the long, narrow teeth obstructing her ability to talk.
"What… is all… this?" Kaeden asked.
"You got attacked by vampires, and bit." Barriss told her.
"Fuck." Was all Kaeden could think to say.
"Now that, is the appropriate reaction." Ahsoka said.
________________________________________________________________________________
Just in case you were wondering, no, Kaeden has not made the connection between Ahsoka the wolf and Ahsoka the person.
I wrote this really fast, I apologize if it's not the best quality.
I hope you all have a good day, whatever that is for you!

YAY anon asks!! Anyway I would love for you to answer hmmm 19, 29, 32, 33, and hehe 37 please. :3 (feel free to omit any of them, I choose violence by choosing not to choose but you don't have to!) <3
Still can't believe I never realised I have anon asks off when I've been on here since like December. ANYWAY,
19 - Stephen King once said that his muse is a man who lives in the basement. Do you have a muse?
I don't know. I get inspired by lots of things. Music being one of them - I come up with a 'what if every character played an instrument' AU for every fandom I've in, even though most of them never see the light of day. I'm also inspired by songs from time to time, but not as often as other writers, I don't think?
My family also visits Italy every year, and I always get sooo many writing ideas when we're there, it's ridiculous. I think just being in a wildly different place to miserable England shakes up my brain enough that plot bunnies start falling out left right and centre.
29 - If you could write the sequel (or prequel) to any fic out there not written by yourself, which would you choose?
Ooh, this is an interesting question. I went through my recced bookmarks on AO3, aka my absolute fave fics collection. In the end I only found one I would want to add to, since most of them ended in the perfect place. But Kids Protecting Kids by quirkle is a fic that's really stuck with me (everyone should read it), and I would want to write a little mini sequel after Wild wakes up where him and Legend just get to have a little chat and breathe out. together. Just another dollop of comfort atop the hurt/comfort.
33 - How do you feel about crack?
I love crack! And honestly I don't write enough of it nowadays. I'm really good at dialogue so crack used to be my forte, I wrote lots of silly fics back in the day. Now I've moved onto more serious horizons, I suppose, but writing serious fics is still kind of a struggle for me. I miss writing crack. My closest fic to actual crack is probably Five Teaspoons, but that probably counts as more just general humour.
37 - Talk about your current wips.
Oh, you've unleashed a monster by asking me this!!
Someday We'll Stand Here By The Sun (TOH, ongoing) - My magnum opus tbh. It's like 80% written rn, and I'm able to keep up a weekly updating schedule on AO3 because of that. But it's still far from done! Anyway, after S2 finished I was full of post King's Tide ideas, and most of them have made their home in this big multichapter. The main plot is the story of Luz, Amity and their trauma /lh. I have so much brainrot for them and their relationship, and S2B builds on their mutual confession so well. As we know there are two episodes in which Luz shows the same character flaw - hiding things from Amity/her loved ones due to a belief that her problems aren't as important as theirs, and wanting to protect other people's feelings. The fact that Luz doesn't seem to grow out of this flaw despite 2 EPISODES focused on it says to me that it's 100% something ingrained in her that isn't going away anytime soon. But I'll stop before I write a whole Luz character essay.
Point is, with the whole 'helping' Belos thing, Luz totally blames herself for the Draining Spell and is gonna spiral post S2, feeling like she has to get back to the Isles asap and fix all her mistakes, and MAYBE that will make up for how much of a horrible human being she thinks she is. So why did I choose to write from Amity's POV, when I started writing this to explore Luz's emotions? Well, at first I was worried about SWSHBTS being a 'Amity is Luz's therapist' fic, but Amity has so many issues herself that that was not a problem lmao. And I deliberated on doing alternate POVs - even made a pros and cons list - but in the end I went with Amity's POV only because she has a lot of things to say! (But there may be a chapter of Luz's POV... you'll just have to see)
I just love this fic so much, it is my baby, and uploading it is kinda the highlight of my week rn. There is so much in future chapters that I am excited for the world to see. Also, when I started writing it, it was out of motivation to make more Lumity Post King's Tide angst, cause there REALLY wasn't enough, but there have been many more fics in that genre uploaded since I began, and I inhale each one like they're my life force. Cause they kind of are. WOW that was a lot of words too bad I'm about to infodump about another 2 wips
Untitled Music AU (TOH, unwritten) - So I said that I come up with a 'what if every character played an instrument' AU for every fandom I'm in, and TOH is no exception. This was going to be a silly oneshot and now it's expanded into a whole multichapter universe that mostly exists only inside my brain. When I have the time to actually write it, it'll be great I'm sure lmao
But essentially Amity plays clarinet, Luz plays oboe, and they're put in the same woodwind quartet by Raine, their teacher at Hexside. This leads to them starting to become friends, but as they do, Amity starts seeing certain weird/supernatural things around school. (This is a human/no magic AU, to clarify). She thinks she's just going crazy, but she decides to confide in Luz. Luz is of course overjoyed to learn there's a potential mystery to be discovered in their school, and immediately joins Amity in playing detective. Yes I want there to be mystery in this AU, but I really have not worked out the finer details yet.
Other character roles include - Raine as Head Of Music. Lilith as their second in command in the music department - but she was also Amity's clarinet teacher until Amity was like nine/ten. One day, she suddenly dropped all of her private students and joined Hexside as a teacher instead. Why? Who knowsss! (You'll find out I promise). Eda runs the wackiest corner shop that sells Everything You'll Ever Need, and Luz is her employee and also her only oboe student. She's a longtime family friend of Camila, too. She took in Hunter, who plays bassoon, and Luz still considers Hunter her brother in this AU. Willow plays flute. She and Amity have a similar arc to canon, but it plays out a bit differently in this. And - this is my fav part - Blight Industries is a well-known company, and engage in copious amounts of rainbow capitalism every year. Meanwhile the Blight kids still genuinely have no idea if Odalia is homophobic or not.
And last but not least - the LU multichapter where Time dies and Twilight picks up the ocarina to go back in time and save his life (working title). But Time keeps dying, so Twilight keeps using the ocarina, and before he knows it he's in a Majora's Mask nightmare scenario of his own. This is one I was planning to write this summer before SWSHBTS came in and demanded attention. Lots of attention. So, I'm planning to get to this when SWSHBTS is done. I'm just so excited to write it - it's really going to push me as a writer, but I'm ready for that challenge if it means i can provide juicy Twi angst. The poor lad. I'm really going to put him through the wringer. And Time too, considering he's gonna die many times in the fic, but that's kind of just the plot.
This question really enabled me, so I'm impressed if you actually read all of this. But thanks for sending this ask in, anon!

Okokok, I said that I was thinking about writing BJ fanfics, but I didn't share my ideas with you!
Now, I only have the outline for the stories which I included below (this contains spoilers for them btw). And, I can't garantee that I'll write them (we'll see, and we'll also see if I can pull them off).
I should also warn you that they're quite cheesy (I'm lonely and it shows) lol
Even though I said they're mostly self-indulgent, I hope at least one of these ideas interest someone lmao.
*MY FIC IDEAS*
• Summoning A Demon To Keep You Company:
One particular night when you're lonely, you decide to summon a demon to feel less alone. That's how you met Beej.
After learning that you're both lonely you make a deal, you say his name and in return he keeps you company.
You were a little distrustful, but since you were already planning on summoning a demon you just go "fuck it" and say his name three times. Coming to your senses the next day, you think of banishing him, but you don't know how, and of course, he doesn't let you and convinces you not to.
Now you have to learn to live with a demon, including finding ways to make him shower after he finds out you have difficulty sleeping and keeps insisting on cuddling you, "to help ya out babes", he said (not to mention that there's only one bed and he forgot to tell you he doesn't need to sleep, yes I'm using that trope, sue me). Eventually he grows on you and you find out you have feelings for him.
What ensues is learning how to deal with the fact that you have feelings for a literal dead guy, and eventually when he confesses how to banish him and you realize you still want him in your life, what it's like dating him.
• Soulmates AU:
In which everyone has a soulmate (duh), and receives a necklace when they're born that lights up whenever you're near your soulmate, but turns black when they die.
Yours has been black ever since you were born, which hurt at first but eventually made you come to terms with the fact that you would never meet your soulmate. That is until one day you discover there's an afterlife and maybe there's a way for you to contact them.
Attempting to contact your soulmate, something goes wrong and a demon runs away with you necklace, so you hire the renowned demon Betelgeuse to help you get it back and find your soulmate. In the process of doing this you both fall for each other and angst ensues as neither of you admit your feelings or feel like you can't be together (since y'know, you're looking for your soulmate).
***SPOILER***
If you couldn't already tell, the plot twist of this fic is that he was your soulmate all along. Eventually you guys find out, confess your feelings for each other and, yay! Happy Ending! Or is it? After that, it's just stories of what it's like to be with your soulmate or maybe how that doesn't fix every problem in a relationship or idk I never got this far when concocting this idea.
• Childhood Friends AU:
Where you and Beej meet as children since he was the tiny demon haunting your house and you were the only person in there who could see ghosts. At first you have a rivalry and hate each other. He liked causing chaos and getting you in trouble so you tried to stop him. One night though, he sees you crying and comforts you, eventually opening up to you about his mother. And you two become bff's after that. You grow up and are always there for each other.
Then when you're teens, you start crushing on him, but Juno forces him to get a job as a Netherworld guide (which he hates) and he starts dating another ghost. You stop seeing each other as often, as you're both too busy with other stuff. You eventually move on with your life.
Years later you start seeing someone, just as BJ starts growing more and more frustrated with his job. He decides to change things up a little and start working in secret as what he calls a "bio-exorcist", Juno catches wind of this and as punishment banishes him to the land of the living, cursing him. He then finds out the ghost he had been dating betrayed him.
Alone and invisible, he goes to you for help and comfort. And comes to realize he had feelings for you (but you're seeing someone).
One day your partner cheats on you and breaks your heart and BJ is there to pick you up. Months later, after a heated discussion he admits he has feelings for you. You too have feelings for him but are a bit hesitant, eventually you guys have your first kiss and go to bed cuddling. You wake up the next day next to him feeling warm inside and realizing how natural being with him felt.
• Now *time* (sorry) for the Time Travel Fic!:
You're in an established relationship with Betelgeuse when for some reason you're sent 50 years to the past. You're alone and confused and about to cry not knowing what to do. You're about to get assaulted and in your panic you summon Beej. He appears and saves you, but he doesn't know who you are, how you summoned him or how you know so much about him. You realize you're seeing past Betelgeuse, before you. You try to get him to help you get back to the future while trying to hide the fact that you know him (since paradoxes or whatever). You find more about what he was like before he met the Deetz/Maitlands.
With time he finds out you were his partner. Eventually you guys find a way to get you back and he's sad that he's going to go back to being alone, but is comforted by the knowledge that this loneliness is temporary, since he's gonna meet you again in the future, have a family with the Deetz/Maitlands, and he won't be alone anymore.
• Colorblindness
Finally, this is more of a ficlet idea, but one thing you should know about me is that I'm colorblind, and one of the things that come as a result of my type of colorblindness is that I can't tell when people blush. In fact, I didn't even know blushing was a thing and not just something you see in cartoons until I was 18. Well I was thinking about s reader who had never been able to tell when people blushed until they meet BJ, and how convenient it is for them that he has mood ring hair and they don't need to tell anymore since his hair always gives him away lol.
