So, I was thinking about one of my most recent posts:
The one I talk about how much I hate doing digital lineart and that my artstyle depends on it.
And that gave me an idea!
What if I created a whole new artstyle for the sole purpose of not doing any lineart?
So that's what I did!! (✯ᴗ✯)
I didn't have any idea on what I'd do or how I would do it, so it's still a bit rough and the proportions and other stuff may be a bit off ┐(￣ヘ￣)┌ I'll try to make it better with time!
Anyways, my first subject was....
TAILS!!!!!!

Now for the facts! :
Miles "Tails" Prower is a character from the Sonic The Hedgehog franchise.
His name is a pun that refers to "Miles Per Hour"
He is Sonic's sidekick, and had his first debut in 1992, in the game "Sonic The Hedgehog 2".
One of his favorite foods (if not his favorite) is mints!
Even though he is very young, being only 8 years old(or 4 ½ if we're taking "The Adventures of Sonic The Hedgehog" into account), He is extremely smart and has a IQ of 300. He once even made a TV out of paperclips, for heck's sake!
He has made multiple gadgets and tech items because of his inteligence, his probably most famous/used one being "The Miles Electric", a multi-use portable computer, or the "Tornado", which is an airplane.
His intelligence and knoledge on technology is very advanced, with him being able to figure out how tech he'd never seen before works within only a few glances/minutes.
Although his main focus is in being a scientist that creates technology, he also has good knowledge in history, physics and just science in general
His origin story can vary a little depending on what piece of media we're talking about, but two things that are confirmed in the majority of iterations are that:
1- He used to get bullied in his village because of his 2 tails (That is also why his nickname is, well... Tails.)
And 2- One day he saw Sonic run by, found him cool and decided to follow him around until they became friends.
Tails can fly with his 2 tails, using them like a helicopter propeller. While flying, he is shown to be able to keep up with Sonic's speed, although he does get tired if he flies too much. Using his tails the same way, he can also push boats and stuff like that underwater. He also sometimes fights using them as weapon, and is a very skilled fighter.
Still about his tails and fighting skills, although I think those are just plot errors, he is shown to be able to use his tails to slice through metal, and is seemingly strong enough to lift up tons and sometimes is even faster than Sonic. (Okay, let me rephrase this. These definitely are plot errors. Sonic is literally supposed to be the fastest being on earth. And which 8 year old child can LIFT UP TONS OF STUFF??? It's already impressive that he can lift Sonic and other people up along with him when flying!)
(ahem...)
He is agile and has some acrobatic skills.
Unlike Sonic, he is a good swimmer, and also a good cook.
I can't think of any more random facts..
And again, sorry for the drawing's awful quality, it is my first time trying that artsyle TwT I promise I'll get better.
Also, it's almost 2 AM and I should be sleeping long ago. ( ಥ ‿ ಥ )

For @narcosfandomdiscord's Day of Amnesty/Day of Friendship: post a fanwork you started for any previous prompt but didn't get to finish in time & create a fanwork with a cameo of a friend's OC

A/N: I feel like this was just a little extra deep-dive into Lara and Chepe's dynamic. A little bit of a filler before we jump back into the most plot-filled parts of the story. Idk I just think they're fun. 🥰 As always, shout-out to Anj for letting me borrow her oc Lara Losa!

She was fairly sure that she hadn’t stopped laughing the entire drive from Angel’s house to the hotel where Chepe and Gilberto were staying. She’d dropped both her uncles off that afternoon at a hotel that was just a little outside what was now her hometown. It made sense, because there was no way that Santo Padre would ever have a hotel big enough or fancy enough for either of them at this point. It was as amusing to her as it was annoying to Bishop. The permanent balance.
What she had found so amusing, though, was that they hadn’t even gone a full day before Chepe cashed in on the half-serious offer she’d extended about going out with him if he wanted to have fun and Gilberto didn’t want to go. When her phone had started to ring at Angel’s house she almost ignored it until she remembered who it might possibly be. And, if Chepe’s adamancy about going out hadn’t been funny enough, Angel’s absolute refusal to join was icing on the cake.
“What?” Chepe asked when he opened the hotel room door and saw Lara standing there by herself. “Your boyfriend too busy to—”
“Not my boyfriend,” she cut him off with a shake of her head as she walked into the hotel room.
Chepe chuckled, holding his hands up in a motion of surrender that he would never actually mean. “Claro, claro.”
“And I invited him to go with us but for some reason he’s convinced that you’re going to leave him dead in a back alley somewhere.”
Chepe shook his head as she spoke, like what she was saying was the most ridiculous statement in the world. And, in a way it was, but not for the reason that Lara probably thought. “I wouldn’t leave him dead in a back alley, Lalo.”
She motioned at him with a nod as she watched him pour whiskey into a pair of glass tumblers. “See? That’s what I—”
“That would be sloppy. What, he thinks I want to get caught?”
“Chepe,” she groaned as her head dropped back so she was looking up at the ceiling, “that’s not—that’s not the point.”
He placed one of the glasses in her hand. “But I’m still right.”
She tried to keep looking annoyed but she started laughing instead. “Yeah, you are.”
When he tilted his glass towards hers, she took the cue and clinked them together. She was waiting for him to toast something, but it never happened. Shrugging, she took a sip. It felt better on the way down than most the liquor she drank—Chepe could afford to drop money on alcohol that cost more than her rent. She took a moment to look around his hotel room as the warmth slowly started to creep over her. His alcohol cost as much as her rent and his hotel room was probably the same size as her apartment. She understood why her dad wasn’t a fan of the business they were in but in that moment she couldn’t help but to think it must be real fucking nice.
“You and Tío Gilberto get adjoining rooms, then?” Lara joked.
Chepe laughed, knowing that there were no doors connecting his room to Gilberto’s. However, that didn’t mean that the two of them didn’t still share a wall. Walking over, he used the hand that wasn’t holding his glass and he pounded against the wall three times. Before he even struck it the third time, both he and Lara could hear Gilberto’s annoyed yelling coming from the other side, the specifics of what he was saying muffled by the wall between them.
“Did you at least invite him out with us?” Lara asked.
Chepe made a waving motion, and it whether he was being dismissive towards Lara or her other uncle was anyone’s guess. “You should see him when we’re home.”
Lara laughed, taking another sip of her drink. “Yeah?”
“He’s on his best behavior here.” He easily downed what was left in his glass. “At home?” He shook his head, not bothering to say anything more—he knew his facial expression said more than enough.
Lara couldn’t do much of anything besides laugh at what Chepe was telling her. It wasn’t that she didn’t believe him, but it was so hard to picture when all she saw of her other uncle was how he always seemed to be when he came and visited them all for the short stints of time he was back in the states. It was usually business, or business-adjacent. Gilberto had never really made a habit of treating trips back home like vacations.
As she thought about it, Lara couldn’t help but to also think about the fact that she had never gone to visit them down in Cali. It had never even been discussed as an option. She understood why no one talked about it when she was a kid. But now? Now it hit her as she stood there in the middle of Chepe’s hotel room that there was nothing really stopping her from going. Sure, she might not have the money for a ticket right now but she knew that all she’d have to do was bat her eyes at Chepe and mention wanting to visit them in Colombia and he’d all but send a private jet to go and get her.
That was a discussion for another time. She was certain that she’d land herself in more than enough hot water with Bishop in regards to her uncles while they were all there. No use in creating problems about things that weren’t happening yet.
What was supposed to be a night out of getting into trouble ended up turning into the two of them staying in and catching up while raiding the miniature alcohol stash in Chepe’s hotel room. There would be plenty of time for going out and antics later. And, even if Chepe would never want to admit it out loud, the amount of traveling that he and Gilberto had done over the last few days was starting to hit him.
When Lara had mentioned that she was working as a hostess at a restaurant, the first question Chepe had asked, of course, was what restaurant. She told him the name despite the fact that he wouldn’t know what the place was. However it didn’t stop him from taking his phone out and looking it up while she continued to talk about the place.
“It’s actually,” she chuckled as she said it, pouring herself another drink, “a really nice spot.” She took a drink from the glass she’d just filled. “Way above my fucking paygrade.”
Chepe shot her a look. “Nothing is above your paygrade, Lalo.”
She laughed harder than she probably should’ve. “Says the guy staying in a hotel room that’s bigger than my apartment.”
“When do you work?” he asked, completely disregarding her statement. “We’ll stop by.”
“We?”
He nodded towards the wall that he shared with Gilberto’s room. “We have a meeting. Gilberto chose some place, but,” he waved his hand dismissively, “we’ll go here instead.”
Lara knew that if she was ever going to try and be nosey, now was the time. “Who’s the meeting with?”
Chepe sighed, like he wasn’t all that thrilled about it but it simply was what it was. “Obispo’s friend.”
Liquor almost came out of Lara’s nose at the statement. “Are you talking about Galindo?” Chepe gave her a confused look but nodded without saying anything else. She laughed. “God. Somewhere out there my dad just got chills.” She shook her head. “He and Galindo are not friends.”
“No?”
“No.” She took another sip of her drink. “I don’t know what their fucking deal is, but it’s not friendship. I’m surprised he still plays middleman with you guys, honestly.”
Now it was Chepe’s turn to laugh. “Like he’ll say no to Gilberto.”
Lara hummed in amusement, toying with the glass in her hand. “Yeah, what’s the deal there, anyway? The way Dad talks about him you’d think—” her sentence was cut short by the sound of Chepe’s phone vibrating against the counter in the kitchen.
Her nosey nature got the best of her as she craned her neck to try and see who was calling. She didn’t catch the name on the screen before Chepe swiped the phone, but she did see the photo that had popped up.
“Who is that?” she asked, eyes wide and smile wider.
“No one,” Chepe said dismissively as he shoved his phone into his pocket before sitting back down again.
Lara scoffed, collapsing on couch beside him. “Oh, come on. All these years and you never figured out how to FaceTime me but you managed to meet some girl on Tinder or something?”
He shook his head. “Tinder. I didn’t meet her on Tinder.”
“Where’d you meet her then?”
He put her into a playful headlock, managing not to spill her drink in the process. “Chismosa.”
Lara laughed as she weaseled her way out of his hold. “Runs in the family.” She paused, bumping her shoulder against his. “Spill it, Tío. You met Angel—fair is fair.”
“So he is your—”
“He’s not my anything,” she cut him short. “But if we’re all being nosey here, I think it’s only fair.”
Chepe talked his way out of it the same way he talked his way out of anything. It didn’t take much to get Lara onto a different track, the discussion moving onto other things. So much had changed since the last time they’d seen each other. More changes happened for Lara than him, as anyone would expect. It wasn’t something that he thought about on a day to day basis when he was home in Cali, but watching her talk animatedly as she paced around his hotel room, it hit him how long it’d really been. She was still a kid to him, but she was so much more grown up than she had been last time he saw her.
It was late into the night when Lara found herself back in the kitchen again, pouring herself what would end up being her last drink of the night. She chuckled as she slid the mostly-empty bottle away from her. “I shouldn’t drive home.”
Chepe chuckled but didn’t disagree. “Now who needs the Uber?”
“You’re gonna make me Uber home?” she feigned offense.
He shook his head, the expression on his face letting her know that she was being ridiculous. “You can stay here. Or make your malparido of a boyfriend come and—”
“Just because you keep saying it, doesn’t make it true,” she countered.
“If you called him,” he spoke, tone surprisingly level, “would he come get you?”
“Pfft,” she waved him off, “yeah. But my dad is essentially, like, his fucking boss. He’d be in such deep shit if he left me stranded somewhere and Dad found out I had called.”
“Mhm,” Chepe nodded but he knew better than to think that that was the sole motivation behind it.
“Why do you care? You don’t even like him.”
“I won’t like anyone,” Chepe said, so matter-of-factly before he laughed for a moment. “But he should still be good to you. Or the alleyway he’s worried about will be the least of his problems.”
“Tío!” Lara said with a laugh.
That was the last that either of them said about it. Lara was of minimal help as they transformed the sofa into a bed, but they still managed to get it done. Chepe was gathering pillows and a blanket, fully intent on letting Lara take the real bed and resigning himself to the makeshift one that would undoubtedly leave him with back problems in the morning. When he turned around, though, Lara was already sprawled out, trying to wrestle one of the cushions into doubling as a pillow.
Chepe laughed, not wanting to fight her about it. Instead, he threw the blanket over her and handed her one of the pillows. It wasn’t long until she was hunkered down and on the brink of falling right to sleep. Once she was settled, Chepe went and checked all the locks on the door and the windows. He turned the lamps and the lights off as he went.
He was about to lie down himself when he heard Lara’s phone buzzing on the coffee table that they’d temporarily moved off to the side. Just as nosey as his niece, Chepe looked to see who it was that was reaching out to her. He was surprised to see Bishop being the one in her notifications, although maybe he shouldn’t have been. There were a few missed texts from him, but before Chepe could even try to read what they were, Bishop was calling.
He answered without giving it a second thought. He kept his voice just below his usual talking volume, not that it seemed like Lara was going to be much of a light sleeper for the night. “Obispo.”
There was a pause, and Chepe could picture the confused look on Bishop’s face. His confusion didn’t stop the frustration in his voice. “Where the fuck is Lara?”
“With me.”
“Not good enough,” Bishop shot back. “Where are you?”
Now it was Chepe’s turn to be annoyed. “The hotel. Why do you need to know—”
“You don’t get to ask me that.” Bishop didn’t want to get into this conversation with Chepe. “When she wakes up tell her to call me. She can’t keep fuckin’ doing this.”
“I’m not telling her that,” he said simply.
“What?”
Chepe shrugged even though Bishop couldn’t see it. “I’m not telling her. Goodnight, Obispo.”
“Chepe!” Bishop snapped. “Don’t you fuckin—”
Chepe never heard the rest of what Bishop had to say, hanging up the call before he got the rest of the sentence out. He chuckled and shook his head to himself, knowing that he would be asking Lara what that was all about when they were both up in the morning. In the meantime, though, Chepe put her phone on silent and finally made his way to bed.

mephiles 14 and shadow 20 (excluding rouge and omega) for the character asks? :D
Mephiles' fashion to me would b like. a LOT of very shiny leather, purple accents, and upside-down crosses. like a mix between matrix styles, futurism, and goth! i think the matrix and futurism makes enough sense, but the like ex-christian antichrist goth stuff is partly becuz hes supposed to look like shadow who would b SO catholic angst goth and partly becuz i feel like the music of 06 has a lot of motifs that kind of call back to church choirs and like. Mephiles' story kinda reminds me of some like. Disciple's righteous quest to end the world because of their misguided devotion. TO BE FAIR i have NOT finished watching the 06 longplay so im like. REALLY fuzzy on the details of the story, except for the basic parts everyone knows. so idk! i might just b projecting some of the good ol Christian Angst but. its rlly interesting to me!
as for shadow, i think its so so cute when he's friends with the younger cast, like Tails and Cream. i know it's probably not actually super in-character, but. [shrugg]. its also rlly cute when he's friends with metal sonic too.
tails is ideal because of his parallels to maria's design, and (assumed) personality. itd be interesting to see how those would affect his relationship with shadow in canon, and whether it would make them more or less friendly towards each other. also the conflict potential of shadow avoiding tails or treating him differently, and the way that affects tails who doesn't understand WHY shadow does that. also the fact that tails has clear interest in guns and weaponry that would make it very easy for him to bond with shadow over! also, it would b rlly rlly funny if tails started picking stuff up from shadow and began treating him like an older brother in ways he does with sonic.
cream friendship is cute becuz Older Brother shadow would 1. b rlly rlly sweet, its rlly funny to imagine cream and cheese hanging out w the Goth Kid, and itd b rlly sweet if he started hanging out w vanilla and Finally got to have a good parental figure in his life for Once.
metal sonic is good because itd introduce an interesting conflict between shadow and OMEGA. but also, shadow can kind of relate to metal sonic, in a way that he cant for a Lot of other characters. being a living weapon, feeling like theyre stuck in sonic's shadow or stuck being compared to sonic and it drives them mad to no end. being a creation by one of the robotnik's. and, depending when they hung out, there's a really nice parallel between metal being a robot created to feel Organic and shadow who's mind was manipulated to make him feel like a robot. even if shadows thing wasnt as permanent as metals, it still gives him a very unique perspective into the robot that no other character really has. it would also b funny if shadow begins talking about how he likes metal better than sonic. theres also a parallel between metal and shadow both having sort of "fail-safes" put into them, through metal's inability to speak and shadow being unable to remember huge portions of his life and how he Still has those amnesia problems. and the angst potential! OMEGA would b so mad! itd be a HUGE betrayal for him! and thats rlly rlly interesting to me and i think it has a lot of potential to be a rlly compelling plot device(?).
honorable mentions would b Espio and Charmy. same reasons as cream (silly, would give him a good parental figure by association, cute kid with goth older brother is a rlly good trope) but i also think that shadow and espio are kind of similar? in a way thatd make them pretty compatible. theyre both such. [waves hand]. Crossed Arms Scowl Autism? that i think they could potentially appreciate each other's silent, brooding company.

Bc of you i really wanna get into Ninjago (/pos) but it's so, what's the word, much? Like intimidating there are so many season it seems like and so many character hhdhshah
Can i ask what your fave character is and why and howd you like describe the vibe of the show? Then I can know what to expect w energy of the show and the first question is just bc I'm curious aha
okay so this is gonna be long sorry.
i also thought the amount of seasons was intimidating but i actually find that it was really easy to get through? i think i binged it all in like a week 🧍🏻♀️(but uh, i did stay up a lot and usually multitasked) the seasons are very short(usually 10 eps) , and later on the episodes get short too.
there’s also new characters introduced every season, but it’s very centralized around the same cast of characters all through, which is like Lloyd, Nya, Kai, Jay, Cole, Zane, Wu, and later on Pixal. so it doesnt feel like a lot to me.
I also think i enjoy the show a little differently than other media? Like it’s just good fun for me to watch. there’s several factors.
1) It holds a lot of nostalgia for me, because i was superrr into this show as a kid, 2) the way i enjoy the show is much like playing with legos as a kid. you have all these legos and crazy ideas, and you spin it all in different ways into what is sometimes a nonsensical plot, but its fun, 3) it is aimed for kids, so it’s easy to find it lacking in areas, but my absolute favorite thing is watching the team dynamic between the main characters bc it feels like they actually like each other😂 it’s the main thing i watch it for tbh
It’s not for everyone obviously, but idk watching the storytelling and animation improve/change throughout the seasons is neat bc in s8 holllyyyy shit it gets a whole new aesthetic, and it’s also really fun to kind of take elements that the show presents and do some Thinking and Creating in my head
my favorites are Zane and Kai—Zane because i grew up connecting to his character a lot and he’ll always be special to me, and Kai bc he just sort of falls into my stereotypical type of favorite character 💀 . His characterization isn’t always the best and the writers sometimes miss opportunities with him but i just really like Thinking about him and the potential types of character development he could have 🤷🏻♀️
So yeah theres the pilots which are really hard to find, but there’s a twitch link to them (pitched down)
Pilots 1/2, Pilots 3/4 (40 minutes in total)
Then the rest are on netflix(they’re separated into two titles tho), except the day of the departed special which isnt there fsr :P
S1-2 are fun and nostalgic to me even if they’re a bit uh, obviously at aimed kids. they were also meant to be the only seasons, but the audience liked it so it kept going. I feel like something shifted in the air around s6-ish though, and then again for s8 idk.
if youre really plot oriented or super into intense intricate world building, or not into shows that can be simple and aimed at kids, you might not enjoy it..? but if you just like seeing wacky plots w fun characters then you might like it ^_^

Every time someone argues with me that Zenix is canonically a child I get a little closer to genuinely doing the timeline math to figure out the minimum age he can be by S3.
Off the top of my head, it is impossible for Zenix to be under 20. For him to be only 20, he’d need to be 2 years old when Garroth found him. I’m going out on a limb here: I don’t think Garroth made a baby his guard apprentice.
And that’s using an underestimate of the time that passes during the series! That’s saying S1, S2, and the length of the rebellion only adds up to 3 years absolute total!
i think a lot of people hang onto fanon so much that they forget their headcanons are not universal like believing shadow knights stop aging/are stuck at the age they are forever, and that's why some ppl think s3 zenix is still a kid. ive seen some hcs where zenix is perpetually stuck mentally as a teenager and ahhhh idk thats cool more power to u
but i cant stand when ppl act like dicks abt it like . just bc of the smut thing, personally i think he's 18 in s1 at least (i respect ppls fanons tho if u like perpetual baby zenix, all the power to u). but ive received shit like "zenix is immature in s3 therefore he's still mentally a kid" nopenopenope
i keep flip flopping on what age group s1 zenix is bc it's just messy. i sincerely doubt jess really put much thought into it since she wrote a lot of s1 very hastily and it created a plot hole where garroth "raised zenix since he was a kid" but zenix killed lord malik within days after he was found and season 1 begins. i'm willing to think it probably could have even just been early MCD baby mod physics like when brian was a little peanut baby then a week later he comes back a grown man from guard training school. plus if zenix really was a kid (and not exaggerated by garroth) he was out there genuinely beefing w gene over leadership in the nether as a kid b4 sasha came around lmfao
anyways zenix has to be at like least around 30-33 years old in season 2. in my fanon he's like 34y/o in s2 and 37 in s3. p much the same age as garroth if not older by then

Man I did have this whole theory for what I wanted limbus to do w Faust she could have reflected thst library of ruina plot Coffee mentioned , where it’s specifically about a woman who was so controlled by a man she loses her identity to him. Bc Faust in some respects starts with his hatred of his name bc it feels like he’s stuck in his father’s shadow. And the library of Ruina thing is a perfect parallel to my theory that current Faust is actually Gretchen (the girl he falls in love w and manipulates in the play) so now she’s stuck pretending to be him bc he died and left her alone and now she’s basically left w all this trauma from never being allowed to be a person outside of him, so she created Charon (making the kid someone who controls a vehicle is a reference to Fausts charioteer boy in the story, his imaginary son who executes his will) so current Faust gives her Gretchen equivalent control of Mephi and just lets her do whatever she wants as a passive fuck you to Faust. Mephi is not even a person but the physical plot mechanism through which she can enact vengeance by crushing everyone else, feeling like she controls the thing which would destroy Faust without ever actually stepping outside the bounds of his character, which shows how he continues to control her and how girlbossing it isn’t an escape from domination bc she’s still mentally controlled by this trauma and can only envision escape through imitation of her abuser.

I definitely don’t think limbus gets to do all that now all things considered but whatever it’s the implications of the setup they have if you’ve read Faust and know where these various plot beats come from and how they basically merge the narratives so all the characters all reflect each other for better or for worse. It could have been really cool y’know. There were other issues I took w Gregor though that cooled me a lot to limbus even before the PR disaster happened.

Wu's a whole ass dragon in the underworld, teal is hesitant to do and say anything.
It's bad enough that the dragon demands for a map that leads to four specific weapons
'why are they made of gold? Gold isn't even a good metal!'
So the golden map resides with the Trustable no, Garmadon does not know,, Wu didn't even know until now
No I will not tell what happened to Kai and Nya.
The pilot goes as well as it gets with a group of six people trying to find four golden weapons and unlock Spinjitzu

Ok but- hear me out. This is such a long shot and weird post but I was thinking about Hector Barbossa and Margaret Smyth from Pirates of the Caribbean.
Just because Margaret’s story is v unknown, and I don't why I had this very long shower thought about their relationship and I have now created an entire back story for them using what's canon and in my mind changed a few little canon things and realized that doing so could make an entire mini-series that would slap and be the most tragic love story at the same time. and imagine someone rly cool being casted as Hector like maybe joseph quinn (totally not inspired by this tik tok and the amount of people on this darn app who have said jo would make a fine young Barbossa)
What if Margaret was this super rich noble girl a bit like Elizabeth. She meets Hector somehow like maybe she sneaks out to a tavern to escape high society and meets him there.
They quickly fall in love and she ends up joining his pirate ship and they get married. That's how Jack knows about her (I think Jack was on Barbossa's crew when he was younger if I'm not mistaken?). If this actually makes it to Disney, imagine seeing young Jack Sparrow in a series that would be iconic. ANYWAYS. So she stays on his ship, icon and they're married and they live a happy life together as pirates.
But obviously, Margaret's father is pissed, and he wants her back because he can't have his daughter out to be a pirate. And as if on cue, the British government captures her (idk how yet pls i just came up w this), and she's in jail and about to be sent to the gallows. Her dad hears this, and he's a bit cruel so he's like "well you've asked for it by becoming a pirate"
plot twist, she had just discovered she was pregnant (and hadn't told Hector maybe? see that's where I would change the plot bc if Barbossa never knew he had a daughter it would have made things even more interesting.) So she's like dad plz I don't want to be sent to the gallows im expecting :(( and the dude is like well... I can't have you get killed now and so he takes her back to england in secret.
AND POOR HECTOR THINKS SHE'S DEAD. Bc his crew saw her name on the gallows list or something and told him and then he went to the dad and the dad was like "yeah shes dead sry bro"
and the filmmaker in me is really coming out rn because I was thinking of this rly dramatic scene where he's like "well I can't live without her, kill me now" and maybe throws a gun at him. but the dad is like don't be stupid.
and this is when our icon Hector Barbossa starts to become a rly mean ruthless pirate and doesn't give two shits about anything.
And then poor Margaret is like :( and wants to get back to her husband but obvy the dad is mean and tells her he's dead and maybe she dies after she gives birth or just really quickly after I don't remember what's canon. so instead of being raised in an orphanage Karina's being raised by her mean grandpa, they come back to the Caribbean and potc 5 happens. and then when she meets Barbossa he's like "you remind me of someone" and he asks who was her mother when he hears her last name like in the movie and she explains and he's like WTF 0.0
I was thinking of an alternate version where Margaret is actually still alive, just placed in a nuthouse by her dad bc she cannot live this life and is depressed her husband is 'dead'

hi!! sorry this is random and you are probably already getting a ton of asks about this but i couldn't help relating on a personal level to your post about eddie i even followed because you're so right 🥴 especially your tags!! i also agree w how it's likely people obsess over him because he's a white guy, and they'll ignore other really compelling plots and characters. a great deal of the st fandom (no shade but) has always been like this --- before eddie came billy and while eddie is definitely a better character to obsess over (IMO), it's still just because he's... white. and good looking, i suppose! joseph quinn is amazing, but i didn't get the hype either and thank you for speaking up because 😳 tbh i feel the same way. i dont have anything against him i just dooooont get the hype, i dont see why i'd have to scroll down the st tag and find several posts on a yt man with over 50k notes when the show has so much more to offer, especially because wow sadie sink, millie bobby brown, and caleb mclaughlin's performances were amazing considering how young they are!! i think lucas was just exceptional this season, too, if i were to obsess over a st guy it'd definitely be him...... and max and eleven had such complex plots each, it's a little sad that people these days will be baited just because of a white man (regarding media) all of this is very lighthearted and it's just my opinion, SORRY, this is long you don't have to read it/post it and on a side note i love your header HJASDKG
heyyy not random at all! yea the billy thing is something i have many many problems with and i h8 that character so much and i h8 how people in the fandom latched onto him purely because he is a yt man played by an objectively attractive yt man but that's like a whole other thing. eddie was a nice guy unlike billy but both are such surface level characters who were clearly always meant to be supporting players and both d*ed and like WHY that is so hard for some people to comprehend is truly beyond me. like there is no reason other than people really enjoy uwuing over their yt men. i completely agree with you, caleb was amazing this season and i adore lucas as a character. max and el and robin are all wonderful characters with arcs and all are played by compelling and talented actresses. i'm just sad that with all the progress we're making regarding diversity, (and as a bi woc myself) that society and fandom culture are still obsessed with their pathetic yt men. not to say you can't enjoy those characters (minus billy bc he's a racist pos) but when you start ignoring or villifying minority characters, it becomes a problem and creates this cycle of negativity and bigotry and idk it's tiring to see everywhere, all of the time.

Re: your Regulus as Draco rip-off post.. agree one thousand percent. Regulus is given so many traits that are outright stolen from other Slytherins in the story. And the thing is, I wouldn't even care so much if 1) the situations and traits they are ripping off weren't cheapened, flattened, and done poorly for the sake of babygirlifying Regulus and 2) they didn't look down on fans of the characters they are ripping off.
Fanon Regulus being "forced into being a Death Eater" Pfft OKAY. Fanon Regulus being a sarcastic mildly antagonistic Slytherin interested in a Gryffindor Potter. Do they not see that they're describing Drarry? Or fanon Regulus being an antisocial potions prodigy who spies on Voldemort to protect someone he loves and dies fighting for the light. Yeah no that's not Regulus's story.
Fanon Regulus is endowed with all of these compelling traits and arcs from other canon characters, with none of the nuance present in their originators, because idk they can't seem to handle it or something. And yet they dare to look down on fans of Draco, Drarry, or Snape? It's so brazenly hypocritical.
no bc i get what ur saying and ur right!! like. in canon we know absolutely fucking nothing about regulus black ok. like. we know his name. we know he started hogwarts in 72. he was a slytherin, he became a death eater at sixteen, he had a collage of death eater propaganda on his bedroom wall, sirius described him as quite naive and said he was reminded by his parents that regulus was a better son, and then he had his plot w/ voldemort and died at 17/18 and thats it!! obv our two sources on regulus's personality come from regulus and kreacher but they are both two VERY biased sources. we don't really know much about his personality other than that he was raised believing his parents bigotry unlike sirius, that he was pretty smart and what we can infer from him being sorted into slytherin. other than that literally allllll of it is pulled straight from draco malfoy, mainly draco in drarry fics. i haven't read many other fics ft. different draco ships, i don't love dramione but i'm assuming he is similarly characterised - maybe just more "oh feel sorry for me i am so tortured and mysterious - in them. and don't get me wrong, draco and regulus ARE similar. one of my favourite parts abt the golden trio vs. marauders eras is that characters seem to intentionally mirror each other? and also, they correct the 'mistakes' of the past gen's lives. like. sirius and harry are so fucking similar, but harry actually. survived? and hermione and lily are clear mirrors. even snape and luna, i admit i really don't like snape, but luna is so similar except the fact that... despite her getting teased and bullied she never became cruel? and neville, just like peter he lived in the shadow of ron, hermione and harry but he never resented them for it. however it's one thing to draw parallels between the characters and another to kinda just. blatantly rip off someone's entire personality but also??? try and make them a good person. like regulus black fans will do ANYTHING to insist he is not a bad person bc he's babygirl and he can do no wrong. which. babe. its fine if you're joking but like some of them are serious about it!!!
and like. the real infuriating part is that the average jegulus fan will shit on draco malfoy and drarry as a concept like. babe. you are sat there reading a DRARRY fic, basically. if you downloaded a jegulus fic or a drarry fic and reversed the names, ignored the chronological fuck ups and such, they would read exactly the same!!!!!

don't get me wrong, even if we strip away alllll of both of draco and regulus's fanon elements, they still have parallels. jkr probably created reg for the plot elements but also to mirror draco. she compared them in an interview one time, she said that they both got into the death eaters too deeply, they were attracted to it at first but that the reality of what it meant to be a death eater was way too much to handle. yeah. however even if regulus was freaked out by the concept of ritual sacrifices and brutal massacres and voldemort killing his house elf, he still hated muggleborns and believed in blood purity - which. is a thing that regulus fans commonly just cut out of fics? i've never read a drarry fic where draco didn't believe his parents were correct. but also their situations are a little different because whilst draco genuinely didn't have anyone in his life who didn't believe in blood purity, regulus did. sirius 100% tried to explain to him that their parents were liars and there wasn't anything wrong or different about muggleborns however he didn't listen. which jegulus fans seem to always coincidentally forget? and yeah okay, it's a fic. embellesh a little. break canon if you'd like. but the second you obsess over and love a character who is literally the wizard equivalent of a nazi and a canon blood purist despite having multiple opportunities for an out, you completely lose the ability to shit on any other character for doing the same thing. you can't shit on bellatrix for murder or evan and barty for being death eaters or anything. and it's insane to me because they dont!!!!!!! they dont shit on bellatrix OR evan and barty and its not even in the sense of like.... enjoying a morally grey nuanced character? the average regulus/jegulus stan strips away every single morally grey and. awful thing about reg and the slytherin skittles just to??? idk. validate it in their own mind. that it is ok to like and enjoy a bad person.
(on the topic of snape - i don't get how regulus fans can dump on him either? like. okay. i hate snape. however my reasons for hating snape are more so to do with the fact that his incel behaviour and obsession with lily genuinely freaks me out so fucking much, and there is absolutely no way you can defend a man who vindictively bullied an eleven year old just because that boy could have been the chosen one, and if he had been then maybe lily wouldn't have died, to the extent where when neville was thirteen snape was his BIGGEST fear. this boy was dropped out of a window by his own uncle, spent years terrified that he would be a squib, WHOSE OWN PARENTS WERE TORTURED TO THE POINT OF INSANITY BY BELLATRIX LESTRANGE and his TEACHER was his biggest fear. that's my issue with him. however. the average regulus fan doesn't give a shit about lily evans, the majority of them villainise her because james loves her - and god forbid that man loves a woman and ur no longer interested in fetishising his relationship!!!!!!!!! either that or they make her a lesbian and pair her off with usually either mary or pandora because they have to physically make her unattracted to men so she won't threaten jegulus. like. i like marylily. i like jegulus. i like jily. i lOVE pandora/lily. one of my favourite lily ships is her and marlene, i'm a sucker for the jock x nerd dynamic! but. you don't have to make her not romantic and sexually interested in MEN just so she isn't a threat to jegulus. that's misogynistic. it is actually possible to not want to fuck a certain man even if you like their general species! lily went six years not wanting to date that man, she can continue to do so in your fic whilst still being attracted to men. it's. odd? why not just make her bisexual?? ah, yeah, because you don't want james to be an option at ALL. anyway sorry i got distracted however my point stands.)
idk man i say all of this whilst Enjoying jegulus and regulus. i hate fics that write him as some sort of completely innocent in no way bad person, but the fics where he genuinely is... self serving and morally grey and only really cares about himself and the people he loves and values? yeah. theyre enjoyable. however that entire personality is just stolen from fucking draco. you can tell bc it came about in 2019/2020 when jegulus got super popular and im 99% sure it was just because all the draco malfoy/drarry stans got pissed off with dracotok and HIS morally grey personality and general... dickish cruel horrible behaviour being ripped away? and even jegulus's dynamic - it's JUST drarry. there is no other way around it. and it's so fucking frustrating when reg stans actively dump on drarry and draco as a character WHEN THEIR FAVE IS HIS CHARACTER.
tdlr: i don't hate regulus, i think he's interesting. i enjoy him in a lot of fics. however it's so fucking frustrating when people that love him a. strip away every single negative part of his character in an attempt to justify themselves liking him when... he isn't that guy. regulus black is a child who believed in his parents bigotry and got in too deep and then died making a last ditch attempt to kill voldemort Not because he genuinely didn't believe in his cause but because voldemort pissed him off by trying to kill kreacher! and b. that jegulus fans regularly shit on draco malfoy when... he's the original? and they hate drarry meanwhile almost every single version of jegulus's dynamic is just blatantly them, whether the authors are aware of it or not.

fire emblem update part three!! i played a BUNCH yesterday and am probably going to finish my first playthrough tonight!! update on character opinions - while my overall ranking of the eagles hasn't changed, i will say that both linhardt and ferdinand have gotten sooo much more special to me post timeskip. similar thing happened with hubert actually, where i like him even more but he's staying in the same spot on my rankings.
DOROTHEA IS MAKING ME SO EMOTIONAL POSTSKIP like. ending the war For Her <333 she and bernie and caspar are still my besties in the whole world. this getting redundant but. i am LOVING bernie postskip. caspar too! i got all of his supports with petra since my last ask and im rotating them in my head they are so interesting to me. actually i had really not gotten too many supports between characters by my last ask and i've been trying to get the ones im most interested in currently and like. i am rotating these guys and their dynamics in my head they are sooo interesting to me. sooo mad bernie and petra don't have an a support </3 i want more of them.
im trying my best to avoid killing any of the former allies. so far i've avoided killing ignatz, let seteth and flayn run away, recruited lysithea, avoided killing hilda, and spared claude. had to kill leonie bc she would not stop killing caspar and bernie no matter what i did. and i killed alois.
little bit sad that i'm missing out on the potential angst this playthrough of having like... only one blue lion kill the rest but. there's always another playthrough! i'm def gonna play all the routes (although honestly i'm gonna have a tough time on the church path.... idk it's one thing to fight edie without being closer to her but it's gonna feel sooo bad to like. directly betray her) but i'm probably gonna replay CF being a little more careful with who i recruit from a story standpoint.
semi related but MAN im LOVING the edelgrid posting im thinking about them soooo hard rn. anyway. on to finish the playthrough! already plotting my next playthrough which is gonna be VW. sort of considering who i want to recruit for that one bc so many of my favorites are in the black eagles so for maximum angst potential i should recruit one or maybe two. but who to pick.... or maybe im lying bc maximum angst would just be killing them all. and then at the same time. what if i just decided to save as many people as possible. what then. minimum angst.
anyway! im going to be thinking about these characters forever now. this game is basically the perfect storm in terms of media that's gonna have me thinking about it for a while (big cast with interesting concepts that could definitely be dug into way deeper, and tons of possible dynamics to think about) so. thank you for your posting about it because i found myself suddenly with an abundance of unscheduled free time and i am. definitely enjoying it now! also side note but i lovee how so many of these characters come with adorable nicknames. i love calling them like. bernie and hubie and edie like yessss those are my besties <333333

understand why youd try your best to avoid killing former classmates,def makes it a bit more difficult but ): it's super fucked up, especially in the perspective of the characters. the angst potential is sooo good but sometimes i am Weak of Heart. so im glad to hear that you were able to spare / recruit most of them! rip to leonie and alois though. i defunderstand alois bc wasnt he abt to do some shit during the battle for the monastery? makes sense why youd need / want to get rid of him asap

would you mind elaborating a bit more on the c!phil and c!techno post? not saying you’re wrong in the least, it’s just an interesting opinion I haven’t seen before! I was curious about the reasons?

to keep my feelings brief cuz im aware im biased- inniter both proud and shameful ✊😔- there's a trend i've noticed about certain types of content recently that has some symmetry to what was going on at the beginning of the year. but unlike those few months ago, most people seem to be reacting positively to today's stuff
the bedrock bros arc in particular had a lot of discourse surrounding it, especially after the mutual betrayal. many c!tommy fans would rightfully point out how it was a lil eff'ed up that c!techno kind of sort of lied to c!tommy about his real intentions and was dodgy when c!tommy tried pointing out how that's not what he wanted to do ("we'll smooth out the finer details later" or w/e the quote was)
in response, it felt like a cacophony of people claimed how techno was his own character, that he didn't need to be some random kid's caretaker, to the point that the whole "characters shouldn't be judged by how they treat c!tommy" take was created
nowadays i'm seeing c!rivals duo material come out of the woodwork like a flood. a lot of people want c!dream to join the syndicate, have him heal out in the tundra with c!techno after the piglin breaks him out of pandora's vault and away from his torture
now, there are quite a few reasons why i and many others aren't a fan of this idea, but this post is about how c!techno shouldn't be reduced down to any character's therapist! he has his own plotlines with his own motivations, certainly, those same people will at least point out that c!dream fans want a similar story that c!tommy fans did back in december and january, right?

then there's the man the myth the legend c!philza himself, coining the title schrodinger's father for a good few months. with the canonicity of the sbi family dynamic being somewhat wonky (not deconfirmed however), people split harshly into two categories: those who liked the idea of c!phil still being c!tommy's father, and those who very very very much did not
regardless of people's true opinions on the matter, c!tommy fans (fairly) pointed out that c!phil destroying the kid's home right in front of him was a little messed up. c!phil was canonically aware that c!dream was up to something funky, yet he still went through the idea of teaming up with him to raze l'manberg into the ground, which stung c!tommy enthusiasts a little. who wouldn't be just a smidge butthurt about something like that happening to their fave?
like clockwork, lots of people criticized and even outright bemoaned this train of thought. c!phil isn't even c!tommy's father who cares! he certainly doesn't need to, stop making everything about the kid! y'all just have daddy issues and are projecting tbh 🤪
now back to the prison arc, we yet again return to the potential plot of syndicate!dream, where he'll be best buddies with c!emerald duo and c!niki will spoonfeed him while he recovers (yes this is a /srs headcanon i saw) and c!ranboo will just have to "get over" his fear of c!dream to see they're actually best buds (another /srs comment someone made yes that is word-for-word what it said)
essentially, someone in discord shared a tweet that was basically talking about the idea of c!techno shoving c!dream into c!phil's lap saying "here, be a father whether you like it or not" and, well, i got somewhat peeved if that untagged post i made is anything to go by
it's starting to feel more and more like people didn't actually care that others were writing c!techno and c!phil in caretaker roles, they only cared that c!tommy was the one being taken care of. because c!tommy is apparently the literal spawn of satan and is the worst thing to happen to the dsmp and is super annoying and blah blah
but instead of, idk, admitting that c!tommy just wasn't their fave and moving on from content they didn't like, they needed to create these excuses about how it was actually super awful that these fans were doing things like this, that you should feel bad if you support this kind of content because you are ruining these characters and everything they stand for
nevermind that this kind of stuff has been a normal occurrence in fandoms since fandoms have been a definable thing, that while yes it gets annoying how certain characters are favored above all others literally all you're achieving by tearing down someone else's work is that same person either A.) making more of that stuff out of spite or B.) potentially quit making stuff for the fandom altogether

Now that we have reached the last chapter of the year. It is time to do a 2020 roll call of what I like to call, “State of the Shippers”:
1. IzuOcha. Status: Placated.
-IzuOcha’s could celebrate several cute tidbits throughout the year. Mini moments as they say.
Anime Highlights: The OVA’s came in clutch with moments for shippers all around and IzuOcha is no exception. We got a cute tidbit where Izuku and Ochako bumped into each other and were flustered.
Manga Highlights: Christmas kept on giving to this fandom as the AM doll Izuku gave Ochako made many appearances. A cute fist bump between the two was also exchanged and Mina was right there bouncing with y’all.
Heroes Rising: Izuku super man carried Ochako to safety. And was Angy she was injured. Fans could enjoy the small Lois Lane moment.
Troubling Signs?: Ochako said “I would like to be excluded from this narrative” when it comes to her feelings for Deku. She’s a hero damnit! So if they are in for something, probably won’t be while they are still in school.
II. DabiHawks. Status: Yikes.
- Dabi and Hawk’s very public breakup set this fandom in disarray but also kind of disayay?
Anime Highlights: None yet. This fandom was cruelly cock blocked by Bones. Sorry DabiHawks stans.
Manga Highlights: Where to begin, my goodness. With these fans, I guess the good and the bad is a plus in this homoerotic double agent relationship. We have the notion that Dabi may have known Hawks when they were kids, which may be a positive? Hori sure loves his childhood friends. Other than that. The GIRLS WERE FIGHTIN’. Hawks is now permanently scarred by Dabi and I don’t think it was kinky folks. Tokoyami inserted himself in the middle to White Knight Hawks, Dabi broke up with him via YT expose and overall, shippers could anguish in the absolute MESS that this ship endured this year. But I’m sure that’s part of the appeal. So...yay?
Heroes Rising: They were both in it.
Troubling Signs?: The entire relationship is a troubling sign which again, is part of the appeal. Maybe Hawks will cuddle up with Dabi’s father after the war. That’s troubling! Speaking of...
III. EndHawks. Status: Yearning and Burning.
-If there’s one thing Endeavor couldn’t stop worrying about, it was his hot (in more ways than one) new side piece who probably should have looked at the fine print when signing a contract to be a recurring guest star on “Keeping up with the Todoroki’s”.
Anime Highlights: A fateful meeting finally in high definition for all our eyes to see! Hawks’s unwavering support of his biggest hero was endearing to watch and their shenanigans together spurred the anime onlies to finally jump on the biggest May-December ship in the series.
Manga Highlights: Endeavor’s admiration and concern for Hawks seeped through the pages as we entered our most exciting arc in the manga yet. Fate split these two up yet entwined their downfall together. And that Fate’s name was Dabi...or should I say ⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️ or should I just say Touya!
Heroes Rising: “Don’t bite my head off, Endeavor.” Geez, can you flirt a little less loud Hawks?
Troubling Signs?: They say never meet your heroes and Hawks is in for a rude awakening. We shall see just how deep his admiration runs or if Endeavor’s past will split our dynamic duo up for good.
IV: TodoDeku. Status: “Precious”
-Shoto’s “Midoriya is in Danger” radar was highlighted in both manga and anime. 4th User’s quirk, who?
Anime Highlights: “Midoriya hasn’t returned yet.” “Where’s Midoriya?” “Midoriya! Grab my hand!” “Have some of my Soba Midoriya.” Shoto gets it. His emotional support friend is a danger magnet. TodoDeku’s also enjoyed tiny tidbits in the OVA such as a hand grabbing scene. Gotta hold tight to those crumbs.
Manga Highlights: Two Words. “Precious Friend.” Deku comes in w/o arms or legs fighting for Shoto and Shoto’s honor. These two spent the entire year worried sick about each other, and going against all odds to save each other. Precious Friends indeed. TDDK fans ate.
Heroes Rising: Shoto kicks some dog ass and then faints thinking of Deku (and Bakugo but shh. Let the shippers rejoice.) On the bright side, we have a 3rd movie coming featuring “The Three Musketeers” so shippers of TdDk can HOLD TIGHT to what’s to come.
Troubling Signs?: Shoto still doesn’t know about OFA and he’s gonna have LOTS of questions after this arc. Will Deku finally tell him? If not, it could make or break the ship.
V. TodoBaku. Status: “Shining through the city with a little funk and soul.”
-Who knew the greatest comedy duo we needed was Shoto and his hot headed “friend” or not friend? It still remains unclear to Shoto. Regardless, these two had a fun year.
Anime Highlights: “I wanna see your cute face”, disco dancing, and more fun in the provisional license training. Plus the OVA added some cute moments between the two such as Bakugo staying behind to save Todoroki during a dangerous excercise and his adorable plan neatly animated for us. I’d say TodoBaku’s really were resurgent and energized this year!
Manga Highlights: Shoto, that is not how you properly Catch a Kacchan, I’m sorry. But at least you did it you mad lad. As with Deku, Shoto spent the year worried sick about Bakugo. While the anime let us have our fun, these two were suffering in the manga.
Heroes Rising: Again, Shoto put a dog down and then fainted with Bakugo on his mind (and Deku but we ignore that. Shush.) TodoBaku’s have the 3rd movie to look forward to which is bound to have some amazing content!
Troubling Signs?: They have a lot of trauma to deal with. And a lot of Deku to worry about. I also imagine Shoto will be hurt about being left out of the OFA secret. We shall see what 2021 has to offer.
VI. KiriMina. Status: Unbreakable.
-Changing your hairstyle to match the gal who inspired you in middle school? Sorry y’all but if Mina were a guy, I’d say that’s gay af.
Anime Highlights: We got that backstory Bois. Red Riot’s origin might as well make him be called Pink Riot. Again with Hori and the childhood friends though I wouldn’t exactly call them friends. They just went to the same middle school but Kirishima was highly influenced by Mina’s Chivalrous spirit! A ship is born!
Manga Highlights: The influence is mutual! Mina creates a move based on Kirishima’s unbreakable and we all let out a collective “awwww”. Also in the war arc, we got Kirishima making sure Mina’s chivalrous spirit shines through right into Gigantomachia’s mouth! KiriMina may just be the unsung MVP’s of this arc.
Heroes Rising: They were in it.
Troubling Signs?: I can’t think of a single one. KiriMina’s can enjoy a peaceful sailing.
VII: KiriBaku. Status: Crumb Collectors.
-2020 was an uneventful year for KiriBaku but Bones made sure there were crumbs aplenty! Thank God for OVA’s!
Anime Highlights: KiriBaku’s did thrive in one episode! Kirishima reflects on the sludge incident and evolves his quirk based on inspiring words from Bakugo! Hooray! KiriBaku’s can thrive in their blossoming friendship. The OVA also has Kirishima (and Kaminari but shh) once again following Bakugo’s lead when it comes to the training excercise. How can you not? He’s so manly!
Manga Highlights: Not gonna lie. There is nothing much here this year. I did find a teeny tiny flake in Aizawa’s flashback. Kirishima and Bakugo are sitting next to each other. Oh! And at the hot pot gathering, Bakugo sits next to Kirishima! Eat your crumbs KiriBaku’s! There’s always next year!
Heroes Rising: Kirishima hangs with a lazy Bakugo and delivers the most hilarious line in the whole movie. “Silly Bakugo, there won’t be villains here!” Hahah... Silly Bakugo. Oh you~ KiriBaku’s can inhale the fact that those two sure love to hover around each other!
Troubling Signs?: With great crumbs come little responsiblity. No trouble if there’s no content! 🤔
VIII: KamiJirou. Status: Singing their hearts out 🎶
-If there’s any ship that’s coming close to canonization, I think this is it, folks! “Think of the person most important to you!” Can’t argue with Midnight!
Anime Highlights: Kaminari does non stop encouraging of Jirou and her hobbies! He works super hard to learn guitar for her sake! We love a king who can encourage his queen!
Manga Highlights: Kaminari thinks of the most important person to him and surprise! It’s Jirou! All of the feels can commence.
Heroes Rising: They were in it!
Troubling Signs?: Kaminari does love his women. And men. Kaminari overall is a huge flirt. But Jirou appears to have his heart strings. ❤️
IX: BakuDeku. Status: Rising. 👑
-Alternative Statuses include Winning, Thriving, Soaring. It’s just been non stop content this year. 2020 is truly the year for BakuDeku. The shippers can rejoice.
Anime Highlights: Three words. Be. My. Cane. The OVA’s helped fan the flames of the BkDk hearts with a surprise! Deku tops! Not only that, we got a lovely shoulder tap of encouragement in the canon material. While in season 4, Deku’s primary focus was Eri. Bakugo and Deku still had their moments to be hella gay.
Manga Highlights: Where do I even begin? I guess we’ll just cut to the chase with Bakugo Katsuki: Rising. We finally saw Bakugo’s true feelings manifest for Deku and if getting stabbed for him isn’t the ultimate showing of love, then idk what is. BakuDeku’s rounded out the year with the Volume 29 cover AND the volume 29 cover drafts to eat at our heart strings. Overall, their relationship got the spotlight in the manga this year. And we’re bound to start 2021 with a dramatic confrontation. Hand holding seems to be the key with these two and it didn’t stop with Heroes Rising...speaking of.
Heroes Rising: The entire movie. Like....yeah. That’s it. [OP, your bias is showing. You have to be SPECIFIC.] {But random criticizer in my head, if I lay out the entire plot of the movie, my post will be too long} [OP....] UGHHHH Okay okay. The POPSICLE MELTING. THE HAND HOLDING. THE CHARACTER DESIGNS OF WHAT MIGHT AS WELL BE THEIR LOVE CHILDREN. Did I mention? “It’s fine if it’s you?” CAUSE YEAH. Oh and All Might randomly officiating their wedding in their heads like idk. Isn’t it just simpler if I say the whole movie??!
Troubling Signs?: Well these two’s relationship is extremely delicate and while it has non stop soared this year, Deku might not take too kindly to Bakugo almost dying for him. Will they stop pushing each other away? Time will tell.

Am I the only one confused on why people hate Percy for not checking up on Bob after the Sword of Hades happened? A) Percy can’t actually stroll into the Underworld any time he wants; his uncle genuinely wanted him dead, and any monsters roaming around would be ecstatic to be the one to take Perseus Jackson down. B) why the hell would he ever think about a Titan again? The only reason Percy was able to erase Iapetus’s memories was because Iapetus was trying to kill Percy and his friends; odds are the only thing Percy thought about Iapetus after the fight was that there would be one less Titan on the battlefield, and nothing else. Iapetus was very much an enemy to Percy, and the only reason he stopped being one was because Percy dragged him into the Lethe; Iapetus didn’t have second thoughts or a change of heart or anything like that; Percy knew that if Iapetus regained his memories (and maybe Percy, the man responsible for wiping them, continuously coming around would’ve caused them to return), Iapetus wouldn’t hesitate to kill him or drag him to Kronos to be publicly executed. C) when did Percy have the freaking time? The boy was dealing with a war and the fact that he was almost certainly going to die when he turned 16, so he was trying to make the most of his time with his mom and friends, and he had a war to lead in and fight. Plus, he had like 4 months before Hera kidnapped him, and he had to use that to start recovering from the war, because I can guarantee those demigods are walking balls of trauma. A Titan he fought over a year ago likely never even registered on his radar, because why would he ever think about a neutralized enemy again? The boy got kidnapped, was kept in a magical coma for months, had to go on a quest and fight in another battle, went on yet another quest, and fell into Tartarus, all in less than a month; he had no time to deal with jack.
all of this is spot on and im sorry im about to ramble. I mean, the only reason why rick pushed this bob plot in our faces was to create Conflict and dig a little into the whole "titans and monsters aren't bad" that he did with Tyson. but like......it made no sense??? it was also about cleaning "plot holes" I guess? if rick wanted to make percy tie lose ends from pjo (which the whole bob thing wasn't even from pjo & when I first read it I was so confusion), if he wanted that same taste of conflict but better—because it wasn't explored much before —was if he added in more of Luke. just.
maybe some metaphors. maybe so parallels. maybe something something the curse of the arai. maybe an appearance like what miss melissa @estrangedlestrange did in her fic. but idk that would've probably been asking for much. give us the Themes of regret, of annabeth spiraling because Luke's knife, his promise, is now lost in the river of misery!!! tbh now that I think about it annabeth barely had anything going for her character during hoh except the Write Your Own Destiny thing w Iapetus and the other giant whose name I dont remember lol. dont get me wrong, that whole Thing w the "giants aren't inherently evil" and the "even if you're cursed you can still choose your fate" thing could've still happened!!! but. the opportunity was there for some nice good ol Luke resurgence (ummm he was an extremely prominent character. a very well written villain. and nothing came after that. nada. cmon folks, the story isn't over!) annabeth should've been in the pits of hell thinking constantly of the guilt, feeling the lost weight of the knife that literally killed luke from a broken promise just sjhghsjkdghakjg. his death hadn't been so long ago, and her being in hell, where he may or may not be for what he did, must've sparked some of the undigested emotions cmon. we only got a little bit of that but the tiniest bit, which is laughable. where was the creativity. annabeth's journey. huh???
ohhh and what we could've had with percy, because in the worst suffering for the both of them, he got into luke's perspective. give us percy relating more to luke!!! like rick just wrote a bit of percy's thought process being like, "u know what Luke has some points" and never dwelled on it again. it could have outright been one of percy's character arcs!!!! his motivation to kill the goddess of misery!!! both of them are bitter as fuck!!!! they're in fucking hell!!!! THE BOB GUILT WAS USELESS like u said!!! percy being hinted as a bad person for what he did to bob was soooo... dumb?? why not get him to sympathize with Luke but at the same time feeding into hatred and resentment bc he doesn't understand why LUKE is probably in Elysium for dying a hero when THEY are dying in hell? him and annabeth did everything right??? they are the heroes of olympus and this is how they are treated?? anyway sorry. completely skirted off topic ig adhd does that to a person. thank u for ur service anon<3
