headcanons: Luke Skywalker and a mentally ill reader🫂🩵
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
A/N: I received several requests for Luke with a reader that struggles with their psychological health and decided to do one big post instead of three small ones.
Since I'm heavily affected myself I have a hard time talking about it, meaning this will be shorter than what I usually do; thank you for understanding <3
Nevertheless it's an important topic that shouldn't be ignored so here we goooo
Luke comforting you when you're afraid of being a bad Jedi due to your mental illness
• like I often mention, Luke always has an open ear for you
• I think he's especially understanding when you tell him you struggle with your personal image as a Jedi
• because in a similar way Luke often worries about this as well
• is he doing the right thing? Did he make the right choices? He doesn't know
• more often than not he wishes for Obi-Wan or Yoda to be with him still, to guide him
• his insecurities might stem from a different place than yours but in many ways you are able to draw parallels
• just like you he's afraid of not being good enough
• I think he'd let himself be really vulnerable in sharing this with you, hoping that it makes you feel less alone
• he doesn't want you to think you are in any way failing him or yourself
• most importantly though he wants to prevent you from thinking he's without faults
• he wants to give you an opening to relax, to show you that it's going to be okay as long as you're genuinely trying your best
• he does his best and is he not doing a good job?
• he wants to relieve you of the burden of perfectionism
• both of you are human and that is very much okay
• additionally the both of you don't have much information about what a Jedi should or should not be and while that certainly makes things harder, it can also mean a new beginning
• Luke spends a lot of time thinking about the principles and teachings he wants to pass along to a new generation of Jedi
• and I think a big part of that would be to embrace one's nature and being as they are
• some things can't be changed, it's the will of the Force
• in this regard he is big on following his senses and his heart and how could you ever be a bad Jedi if he sees so much goodness in you?
• while it may be hard to see for yourself, Luke will do his best to show you that your personal struggles don't equal being a failure
• mental illness isn't a flaw that makes you less capable or less intelligent
• you are not your mental illness
• it doesn't define you as a person even though it often times feels like it
• he will list many wonderful character traits of yours, trying to convey how others may see you
• he retells situations where you were able to overcome or even use your struggles in order to help another person
• you are allowed to be yourself and he's glad to have you by his side
• he values your opinions and insights
• in many ways you are able to view certain aspects from a totally different point
• with your unique experiences you are able to offer comfort to those in similar situations better than Luke ever could
Not wanting to burden Luke with your trauma
• Luke is familiar with the notion of keeping ones struggles to oneself
• especially when it's done out of consideration for others
• I don't think you'd manage to hide your mental state from him though, not post ROTJ and not when you're force sensitive as well
• he might have been rather blind to his surroundings earlier on, but has long grown past it
• of course he respects if and when you want to open up at all and will put no pressure on you to tell him anything whatsoever
• however I think he prefers his family and friends to be outspoken about how they're feeling
• not only does he want to help but is also aware that it's only going to get worse over time otherwise
• he knows what can happen when one gets lost in an endless maze of the same recurring thoughts
• to be able to realease something into the Force, to let it go, one has to confront it
• how this is done varies for each person though
• you know best where your trauma stems from and only you know what you are able to take on in order to leave it behind
• as much as Luke would love to be able to simply tell you what to do, he can't
• it's a journey everyone has to go on for themselves
• he'll want to be your company though
• Luke is happy to let you take your time
• if the possibility to retreat is important to you, it's what you get
• he wants your healing to come from a place of security and with the knowledge that he's there to catch you when you're not able to do so on your own
• still he remains firm in his believes and will tell you so
• nobody said it was easy, he knows for a fact it isn't and he is ready to be by your side when you are
• depending on your relationship he might give you gentle nudge in the right direction or, alternatively, a kick in the butt if that's what you need
• he won't stand by and watch you destroy yourself
Dilf!Luke realizing you're not doing well mentally
• since he always has his eyes on you, he can tell when something is just a little bit different
• depending on how well you're able to hide your mental condition though, it possibly takes him a while
• unlike is child he can't be around you all the time and during your car rides home the both of you don't talk
• maybe he realizes how tense you grow when a member of your family contacts you
• maybe he overhears parts of a conversation either when you have to take their calls or when you talk with your friend
• I think he'd ask his child if everything's okay with you
• he doesn't want to seem overbearing or like he's invading your privacy
• since they are your best friend they wouldn't tell him any details but maybe mention you're struggling
• again it depends on you as a person
• are you open about your mental health or not?
• if not they will lie for you
• otherwise they know what they can share without revealing too much
• after all it's your decision what you want others to know
• either way he's worried
• he will offer his help right away
• if you need someone to talk to, he's there
• he's not a professional of course but he'll listen! A second perspective can change a lot!
• the house is easily big enough for one more person, he doesn't mind you staying for the night or a few more
• you can always come over when you need space or a place to rest
• he'll look after you
• have you thought about moving out?
• are you making enough money to be independent?
• are you seeing a therapist?
• "Dad please calm down, I can't tell them you said any of this!"
• your friend will give you a watered down version of what happened because they're kinda afraid that you'll be creeped out by Luke's behavior
• you aren't
• in fact there's nothing you want more than for Mr. Skywalker to take care of you
• he may ask you about it himself once you are better acquainted
• if you're comfortable enough to drop a comment or two he definitely catches on to them
• you are welcome to celebrate the holidays with him and his child, you know?
• he's sure they would be more than okay with it too
• it's your choice of course but he'd be happy to have you

Anakin + Aayla
So, the Star Wars: Republic comics (now considered Legends) had a lot of great moments, including the Padawan Pack's last stand on Jabiim and Anakin's desperate attempts to find Obi-Wan when everyone else believed Obi-Wan was dead.
But a really cool element that I don't think a lot of people realize is this comic series contains one of the first (possibly the first?) significant interactions between Anakin and Aayla.
First, let's set the scene: Anakin, Obi-Wan, Aayla, and a bunch of other Jedi are on Kamino, prepping for an attack on the Republic cloning facility.
Tumblr media
First, I absolutely adore this moment between Anakin and Obi-Wan. I think it's a good glimpse into some of the tension in their relationship during this time. You have Anakin being kind of weird and unconventional for a Jedi, trying to do his moving mediation outside and in the rain.
In response, Obi-Wan is a little bit exasperated--you definitely get a sense of impatience from him for Anakin's quirks, and that he doesn't like that Anakin strays from convention, just like how he didn't like that Qui-Gon strayed from convention. He's also not willing to coddle or comfort Anakin. He tells him to get it together, stop worrying, and focus on the upcoming battle, and doesn't hesitate to include a little bit of critique in his instructions.
Tumblr media
Enter Aayla. I really enjoy her presentation here. She's kind and friendly, and though you get a sense of some formality in their relationship, as Anakin doesn't use her first name when he replies to her, she doesn't hesitate to take a moment to sit down and have an earnest discussion with him. Also, unlike Obi-Wan, she doesn't mind Anakin's unconventional meditation methods, even commiserating with him about using the same style.
(Sidenote: I have no idea how old Aayla is supposed to be here if she was Quinlan's Padawan and Quinlan was friends with Obi-Wan and around the same age as him. Possibly mid to late twenties? Someone let me know if there's a timeline I'm unaware of.)
Tumblr media
I also really enjoy how Anakin interacts with Aayla. It 's very platonic, given that he's already married to Padme at this point, but you also get a sense that Anakin respects her and doesn't hesitate to confide in her or explain his different meditation style to her. When she asks what the problem is, he tells her without hesitation, signaling that he trusts her. When she succeeds in fixing the droid where he failed, he genuinely smiles and compliments her and seeks out her advice. Even when frustrated with himself, Anakin is fine with Aayla knowing more than him, and he wants to know her strategy so he can emulate her. And Aayla doesn't hesitate to clue him in.
One of the reasons I love the Republic comics so much is that they're filled with little character-building moments like these. And I really appreciate this interaction between Anakin and Aayla because there's a true sense of warmth and companionship between the two of them that's frequently lacking when it comes to Anakin and a lot of the older Jedi in the Order.
Tumblr media
Later, Obi-Wan decides Anakin is too distracted to participate in the battle and refuses to allow him a starfighter despite Anakin's considerable piloting talents. Anakin protests, but Obi-Wan won't relent. Anakin exits, and Quinlan, present via hologram, offers a sympathetic ear. Obi-Wan responds by listing off Anakin's flaws without a single positive attribute to counter them.
That's something I think people forget about AOTC-era Obi-Wan. He was very aware of Anakin's flaws and didn't hesitate to ever discuss them. In AOTC, he tells Yoda and Mace Windu that Anakin is arrogant and not ready for his first solo mission, and it's Mace Windu who defends Anakin. Here, Obi-Wan offers Quinlan a laundry list of everything he thinks is wrong with Anakin, and notably includes "he rarely ever talks" among them. But what he doesn't seem to register is that Anakin was trying to talk to him earlier, and Obi-Wan didn't want to listen.
Tumblr media
A recurring point of tension in Anakin and Obi-Wan's relationship, both in Legends and canon, is the unusual and unorthodox way in which they were thrown together as Padawan and Master. The truth is that Obi-Wan only took Anakin as his Padawan because of Qui-Gon's final request, and he says at much to Yoda at the end of the movie. It's not "I think Anakin could be a great Jedi" or "I want Anakin to have a home and a life beyond slavery." It's only "I gave Qui-Gon my word" and nothing besides that.
It's Qui-Gon who's important to Obi-Wan here. Not Anakin. That comes later.
And I really like that both Anakin and Obi-Wan think about this unique aspect of their relationship as Jedi. Anakin knows that Obi-Wan didn't choose him and initially didn't even think Anakin should be a Jedi. Anakin was in the room when Obi-Wan in TPM told Qui-Gon that "the boy is dangerous", and it's a recurring insecurity of Anakin's throughout both canon and Legends that Obi-Wan doesn't actually want him as a Padawan and probably wouldn't have selected Anakin if he'd been permitted a choice. It's common to mischaracterize Anakin as having an ego problem, but in Legends, when Obi-Wan admits that having Anakin as a Padawan has been good for him, Anakin is left speechless at the revelation.
Tumblr media
But what I find most interesting is that in this comic, it's not that Obi-Wan doesn't want Anakin as a student, it's that he has an insecurity of his own. Quinlan helps him to realize that it's not about Obi-Wan not trusting Anakin. It's about Obi-Wan not trusting himself to be Anakin's teacher.
And that's why I love these two little moments between Anakin and Aayla and Quinlan and Obi-Wan. They're not monumental, they're not action-packed, but they're two instances of self-realization and character-building. It's often been said that the Jedi are a family, but personally, I've never gotten that vibe from the films. But with these panels, I completely believe it. Aayla wants to be there for Anakin, and Anakin wants to hear her advice. Quinlan wants to be there for Obi-Wan and encourage him to trust Anakin, and Obi-Wan takes his words to heart.
They're willing to be vulnerable and affectionate with each other in these comics, and up until Obi-Wan and Anakin's final goodbye in ROTS, that was not something that happened in the films. And its absence is very, very noticeable, so scenes like this one are incredibly refreshing.
Even though the Republic comics are from a different era, I really appreciate how they humanized the Jedi and gave them genuine personalities--and in particular, I appreciate that they laid the groundwork for current fandom's Anakin & Aayla friendship fanon.

hi! just have read your fic with cody&soka bonding dynamic(and planning to read more ur stuff), and do im interested, have you any h/c or any thoughts on how canon could represents cody/ahsoka in some arc/case /etc or even other SW's characters you inetersted in
in general, just wanna to hear you and your thoughts, no rules or restrictions . thanks a lot for the things you have done to fandom
with the best wishes, your reader
oh man that's a good question and i have a long answer so here goes:
so cody and ahsoka never actually interact in canon (devastating), however we do see some similarities in their bonds with the people around them. for instance, they're both close with rex (confirmed by rebels and dave filoni in cody's case) and have earned his close confidence and trust. they both look to obi-wan as sort of a pillar of what a jedi should be (confirmed by bad batch season 2 & literally all of clone wars) and they're comfortable within the bounds of their respective relationships with obi-wan. i think, if there ever were an arc in which they got to be together/cody got actual screen time, it would realistically look close to what rex and ahsoka's relationship looks like.
things we canonically know about cody:
he and obi-wan were very close friends due to needing to spend most days together
he and rex were close due to their command positions and assumed training together
he feels comfortable giving up his command to a different person so long as he finds them experienced and ambitious enough to take on the challenge
the last thing he wants is to fight in a war
so obviously a very short list. ahsoka's would be much longer, which is why i'm not writing it, but from a character standpoint that already gives us a pretty solid platform on which to start. cody isn't lenient, ahsoka isn't used to people letting her mess around (too much) so they'd work well together in a battle/training environment. cody isn't so insecure that he feels as though he NEEDS to be in control, and even verbally hands the reins over to rex in the initial domino/rishi moon episode, whereas Ahsoka's character arc is about learning to take control and become confident in her abilities. that gives us a good in for chemistry, as cody is a strategist and can read people fairly accurately. he wouldn't feel threatened by ahsoka because he knows that any command position she assumed would still defer to his station. so now cody is at ease around her. but what makes ahsoka be at ease around him?
my big argument for that one is the aforementioned relationships with rex and obi-wan. these are two people that ahsoka trusts and holds very close, and thus seeing someone else earn the same level of respect as her would automatically lower her hackles so to speak. she knows obi-wan or rex would warn her off if cody was a real danger to her, and she trusts their judgement of character, so upon being introduced to the guy who's obi-wan's closest friend outside of the jedi and rex's Brother (capital B brother because he has a lot of brothers but not a lot of Brothers), she'd probably be eager to meet him. Ahsoka is very excitable in the series because she's a young girl, and it's only in the later seasons that she stops being as excited to meet new people and go new places.
TLDR: the ties to obi-wan and rex would lend ahsoka to viewing cody favorably, whereas ahsoka's discipline and dedication to peace/the jedi order would lower cody's defenses enough to let her in

So, @blueink-bluesoul had me thinking about my clone wars OCs for the first time in years, I now have the mighty urge to make that everyone else's problem by ranting about them. I love OCs so feel free to get revenge by ranting about your own OCs to me!
Also if...if anyone out there likes these characters and wants to request headcanons on them as if they're canon characters...I would not mind that at all....
Please excuse my attempts at art, I've very out of practice with drawing 😞 Here's the picrews I used for the lightsaber and clone armor if you're interested
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mayreen Torrez
Hashtag your mom friend. She's between Anakin and Obi-wan in age. Auburn hair that she keeps long for the first half of the war, but, while saving her men from an explosion, she gets badly burned across her arms and face, also charring the ends of her hair. After that she keeps it short and has the faint scars of a burn mark on the left side of her face. (my current pfp is a picrew I made of her)
As stated above she's the doting mom friend. Holds to the belief that friendships and other relationships does not automatically = unhealthy attachment. So she's not afraid to make deep connections with others, especially other Jedi and her troops, she believes that balancing those relationships with healthy mindsets is the true test of a jedi.
One of those Jedi who's extremely vocal of her criticisms of the republic, considering the politicians are using the Jedi and clones as unwilling pawns in their war. There were a....few incidents during the war where she "bent" direct orders when she thought they might result in too high casualty rates or prioritized other things over civilian lives.
She's in love with her Commander, but she's determined to take those feelings to her grave- not because she thinks love is wrong, but because the idea of unintentionally abusing her rank over him makes her sick to her stomach.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Commander Zedge
Might as well be called Commander Dad. Keeps the sides of his hair shaved and long on top, secures it back with a ponytail. Has two long scars along the corner of his mouth and one over his eyebrow. There's a small tattoo over his left temple, the symbol is an ancient ward to protect those under your command.
Zedge cares about one thing: protecting innocent people, including his brothers. He only sees the war as a way to do that, especially once he sees how the separatist droids treat those on their occupied worlds. He is not one to spare criticism for the republic either, especially when Mayreen is the same way. He's aware that him and his brothers had no choice in this fight, even if most of them believe in the cause, and will help his General bend rules if it means protecting his brothers.
Speaking of, he was very skeptical of the Jedi leading the clones, and was convinced that they wouldn't care about clone casualties. Thankfully, just a few days with his new general made his worries fade pretty quickly. Especially when Mayreen showed respect for his tactical knowledge and combat skills. He firmly believes they're the best Jedi general/clone commander duo in the GAR given their perfectly aligned values. His opinion of the Jedi in general does a harsh 180 quick, and comes to respect the way they value life, and realizes that they also had no choice in this war.
Eventually this man comes to the mind-crashing realization that he's in love with his General. Has no idea the feelings are mutual and thinks he's the worst comrade ever for "disrespecting" her with his feelings. Every one in the battalion knows they're in love and thinks they're idiots.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Dott (the medic)
Precious, precious boy. Has a pretty standard haircut but keeps the front a little longer so he can spike them up. Has a tattoo of the medical symbol on his neck and a prominent smattering of shrapnel scars down his right arm, which he got while pulling Fixit away from a grenade that went off before they were a safe distance.
Total nerd, thinks laughter is good medicine and is ALWAYS telling bad dad jokes, no matter how many times they tell him to stop (Mayreen's the only one who laughs at them). "If you don't wanna hear my jokes Stop getting sent to my med bay!"
Is always researching stuff on the holonet, but becomes completely invested in research involving mental health. Makes it his personal mission to become the battalion's therapist as well as medic. Always sending tips on improving ones mental health to everyone's datapads, checking in for signs of PTSD after every rough mission, big advocate for talking out feelings rather than stamping them out. Meditates with Mayreen and Fixit and encourages everyone to join in. Long story short if you need to talk about anything please go to him <3
He's also a big animal lover and takes holopics of the wildlife on every planet they visit. Has been known nurse an injured animal back to health when stationed on a planet for awhile. Would probably sneak a bogling or tooka back to the ship if he thought he could get away with it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Bravo (the pilot)
Chaotic little brother. One of those clones with the genetic anomaly of blonde hair, which he is very proud of. Constantly says his sweeping blonde curls are his best feature and likes being annoying about it. Has his battalion number tattooed on one forearm and a silhouette of his star fighter on the other.
Incredibly skilled pilot, he often offers air support for the ground squad. Known for his high risk=high reward maneuvers but is constantly in the med bay as a result. Jokes that him and Dott are besties now because of how much time they spend together <3
Loves being the center of attention and will get it even if it means being obnoxious. This goes double when they're on shore leaving and he always wants someone to have fun with. He's not really into commitment tho, at first he didn't realize that was something he should be upfront about when picking up dates, so after a few tearful Holo calls from previous lovers he's much more transparent about his wants now.
He's also the only OC who I know dies during the war. He sacrifices himself to save a refugee transport. He wasn't ordered to, he just knew the only way to save the civilians was to crash his fighter into the Separatist warship and he didn't even have to give it another thought. If his squad has taught him anything its that innocent lives always come first. Okay I'm gonna cry now
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Fixit (the mechanic)
Shy baby. Keeps his hair just a little long and tied back at the nape of his neck. Has a scar across the back of his left hand and both hands are always scraped up and covered in grease.
Fixit got his name because of his genius skills in mechanics. Loves droids and is always keeping the ones on the ship shinny and up to date, which often results in said droids following him like baby ducks. The astromech Bravo flies with is constantly around Fixit cos of all the times Bravo's stunts have set him on fire.
Easily flustered, which makes him an easy target for brotherly teasing, this is where all the "droids are better than people" jokes come from. He takes an active interest in the way the Jedi calm their minds through meditation and asks Mayreen to teach him, they have regular sessions between missions. He also really appreciates all the confidence building advice that Dott and Mayreen give him.
Has been known to improve standard issue equipment, usually focusing on devices that can better protect him and his brothers. He's also constantly improving his oldest friend, Whisper's, rifle since he's the only person Whisper trusts with his gun.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Whisper (the sharpshooter)
It's always the quiet ones. He keeps his hair long and dyes the ends of it whenever he can, doesn't matter what color he just wants them dyed. Has lines tattooed around his eyes and mouth, then later on gets some blackout stripe tattoos down both of his arms. He also purposefully scared up his helmet to match his tattoos.
Got his name because he doesn't talk much and when he does, he's very soft spoken (he could make bank if he did ASMR recordings of his voice lmao). He's also the best shot in the battalion and is the best man to cover you on the battle field.
Him and Fixit were actually squad-mates back on Kamino and have been with each other since the beginning. They're best friends and you can usually find Whisper cleaning his rifle while Fixit rambles on beside him, tuning up the droids.
Whisper isn't really "shy" per se, he just prefers to sit by and watch, listen. This gives him an excellent insight into body language and can clock someone's intentions very quickly. Also don't fist fight him, he can predict your moves before you even know what you're doing based on your body position.
He may look intimidating but he's actually very sweet and gentle, just...don't insult one of his brothers or disrespect his General. He doesn't care what the punishment is, he will teach someone respect if they run their mouth in front of him.
I'm sorry these are all so long I just!!! I love my squad so much! They're a tight knit family unit and would literally do anything for each other 😭

How about: fake dating and unexpected virgin? 😏
wooo wheee ok this is giving me like so many vibes but what i'm thinking for this is.....
48. fake dating + 90. unexpected virgin
same age padawans/knights obi-wan and anakin are pretty good friends. not like scarily close or anything but also not enemies. they get along. it's a fun time. they trust each other with secrets they don't tell other people.
obi-wan is desperately in love with anakin, but it's whatever. it's a fun time. it is.
it gets marginally less fun when anakin approaches him and begs him to pretend to date him for the entirety of the mission they're about to go on because he needs to make this senator jealous, he's been in love with her since he was a kid, and this is his chance to be with her, but he needs her to not think of him as a little kid anymore.
and obviously being caught with obi-wan's tongue down his throat will bring about that realization.
how can obi-wan say no? it's going to be incredibly painful, of course, but he's been thinking about kissing anakin for years. how could he ever turn down the actual opportunity?
cue them doing the most convincing fake dating ever because they're just so comfortable with each other and obi-wan suggests practice kisses and anakin originally shies away from the idea. but then later, they do kiss and anakin just melts and becomes very addicted to kisses and eventually he confesses that he's never been kissed before, but he really likes it. it's just that he's been saving himself for the great love of his life.
(obi-wan of course pulls back to respect his boundaries, but anakin won't let him go far. "but, um, actually i've been thinking that---that i should know how to do this stuff so i'm good at it when, you know. i get together with her."
"with the senator," obi-wan clarifies.
"yeah of course," anakin responds already reaching up to connect their lips together again, and obi-wan knows this is hurting him, he knows a lightsaber to the brain would be kinder, but he can't stop himself from giving anakin whatever the other boy wants. even if it's not him.)

Oh you know what I’m gonna ask— OBIKIN FOR THE SHIP ASKS
Tumblr media
QUELLE SUPRISE! 😂 Thanks so much 💖
002 | Send me a ship and I will tell you:
When I started shipping them: Techincally 2005 right out of the theatre but it was sort of a low-key kind of shipping when you like something but you're not actively seeking the content for it. My second rewatch of the Clone Wars changed everything. Thank you, 2020.
My thoughts: As a ship it has everything you can possibly want. Friends to Lovers. Idiots to Lovers. Lovers to Enemies. Enemies to Lovers. Setting each other on fire. Trying to kill each other. Decades of history between them. Its got 'oh my god they were roommates' vibes. Its got "hot for teacher" vibes. Defining their relationship is impossible, which is what makes it so good. Its got drift compatibility and dyad vibes. It has absolution, ON BOTH SIDES. What more can you want from a ship? What other ship can do what they've done?
It's also just sexy as fuck. This ship can fit so much kink in it. It's got so many haters and that's why it's hot. If your ship is not deemed problematic in some way it's just not sexy enough.
What makes me happy about them: Everything about them.
What makes me sad about them: Everything about them.
Things done in fanfic that annoys me: There's a specific take on Obi-Wan, where he is just very soft and sweet and kind and sugary and needs to be protected and it makes me gag. I don't have time for it. Like, if that's your jam, have fun but it's not mine. As far as I'm concerned, Obi-Wan Kenobi is a bossy mean bitch who will kick your ass and snark at you the entire time. He's kind and wise but he is not nice.
Also I bail the minute I see someone having Obi-Wan call Anakin "Ani". No.
Things I look for in fanfic: If they're not orbiting around each other like two violent stars, what's the point? I want them obsessed with each other and making it everyone else's problem. Obi-Wan Kenobi Series was a gift in that respect.
My wishlist: A world where Mustafar didn't happen because Obi-Wan dommed the hell out of Anakin and he was getting the touch, attention, and correction he wanted/needed.
Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: I don't know if we saw the same movies but I'm pretty sure they do end up with each other at the end of RotJ.
But Padmé has rights, I guess. To both either them 😏 Anidala and Obidala my belovèds 😌
My happily ever after for them: 😌 living happily ever after together for an eternity in the Force 😌

1,2,7,9, & 10 for ur star wars s/i? [self-insert ask game]
Hello!! Aaaa thank you so much for asking, I'm finally getting around to answering these sjhj
1.) what are the basics of your self insert? name, date of birth, height, etc.? my self insert's full name is Brea Callisto, height 5' 5", and the same age as Anakin so her birthdate would be 41 BBY (I don't actually really know what that means, star wars timelines are fucky and all over the place x'3)
2.) when in canon does you self insert come in? do you have a scene in mind for your entrance? My self insert has been Anakin's best friend since they were both 10 years old, but I suppose the first time she'd be seen in canon would be during the First Battle of Geonosis in Attack of The Clones! It's a pretty flashy entrance, it's the first time Ani sees her after a falling out they had and he'd be shocked to find she became a Jedi Knight before he did and she'd be all too eager to show off what she's learned since they saw each other last. x3c
7.) would any other characters (besides your f/o) have a crush on your self insert? now THIS is an interesting question...cause yes I do have crushes on clones other than Rex and I like imagining them having a crush on me too. I've mentioned my complicated feelings about Hunter before, but even MORE complicated than that would honestly probably be Fives! My self insert has always been closer to him than most, and I feel like he'd crush on her hard, but it's kind of a 'in another time' thing they have for each other.
They do like each other, and if some things had been different then maybe it'd be more, but in the end Fives respects Rex too much to act on it and Brea loves Rex more than anything or anyone else. Even if she does like Fives a lot.
9.) who are your self insert's closest friends? Anakin was her best and most trusted friend, but after...everything, the best friend position gets filled by my irl best friend's self insert hehe. Other than that, Obi-Wan and Ahsoka were people she'd trust with her life!
10.) how do other characters feel about your self insert and f/o's relationship? For the ones who do know about it, they're thrilled by it! The only ones we'd trust with that knowledge would be our friends, and they know we're good for each other and are happy that we're happy!!

i hope sometime my brain comes up with some fanfiction to write about commander cody bc he is DEEPLY interesting to me but i dont have any particular mechanism by which to explore this
#like he has approximately 0 screentime and yet.#commander cody#codywan#his small part in the rots novelization really grabbed me especially. cool calm competent but also the kind of relaxed friendliness#where he gets the same cato nemoidia running joke with obi-wan that anakin has. because they're extremely close! probably best friends!!#and he can (bc this is pre-chip era) turn on a dime from that camaraderie to shooting obi-wan out of the sky#with perfect regard and respect for how dangerous obi-wan is and how good at surviving#because cody is a person. but at the same time: he's the perfect soldier.#and his investment in being a soldier is total. being a person is incidental#cody the perfect soldier is paired with obi-wan the perfect jedi. and this is a match that only ends one way#i'm very invested in the idea of codywan bc cody *has* to be a far better commander than any jedi and he has to know it#him and obi-wan being very close on a personal level but cody also resenting him very deeply#because every day obi-wan gets people killed that cody could have kept alive. and it's almost worse that obi-wan is a decent general#rather than an actively bad one#he's just not good *enough*.#and the army has to be led by jedi. has to. cody would never have the chance to do better no way no how. but he could.#and at the same time he respects obi-wan. they're good friends.#but cody's a soldier and when the orders come down he'll do what needs to be done.#ok im putting this in the main tags bc this tag essay is technically a genuine character analysis post#sw#like obviously this changes a bit in the Post-Chip Era but it really informs how i think abt cody and his relationship w obi-wan#fandom tends to portray cody as like. kind of adoring obi-wan and being super loyal to him personally - which is fine! but#i just really enjoy complicated relationships. sprinkle some resentment in there. some betrayal. some spice

For the slow burn meme Obi-Wan Kenobi Wolverine Padme Amidala
once again under the cut because I have zero control.
slowburn: Obi Wan, I feel this is a given. I'm a fellow Jedi and we've basically known each other our entire lives and we've always been friends, even after we both become padawans and spend less time together (we always try to make time for each other though). Then TPM happens and I'm still a knight but my bestie is a master and has a padawan of his own but I'm too busy worrying about Obi Wan's health to even think of being jealous of him. Obi Wan is basically falling apart so I'm around as much as I can to help him keep it together and help him raise Anakin. The inherent bond of raising a child together strengthens our friendship and sparks start flying, but obviously Obi Wan doesn't want to break the Code and I just don't want to push him while he's still grieving. AOTC happens and we're at war. There's still an unspoken thing between us and now it's worse because either of us could die at any moment but we still say nothing. Then the Empire arrives and well, Obi Wan takes off with Luke, and I go with Leia and Bail (to act as a silent guardian from a distance), and before we part ways, Obi Wan attempts to confess, but I stop him, because if he says it, I won't be able to let him go. (alternate ending: I go with him and we once again are driven together by the inherent bond of watching over a child. we're married by the third week on Tatooine.)
fake date: Padme! AU where she's not married to Anakin and they're very close friends instead. We're both senators and our planets have a history of tense relationships, and the respective rulers of our planets are working on a peace treaty. They come together and go "You know what would make our citizens more open to a peace treaty? if our beloved senators dated each other." And of course for the sake of peace, we date each other. It's all over space twitter. The two of us have never had much animosity between us, which makes it a lot easier. And of course, it's easier to deal with the space tabloids all up in your relationship if the whole point of your relationship is to be in the space tabloids and help better relationships between our people. Padme and I become very good friends through our relationship, and uh, accidentally we fall in love very quickly (Padme is impulsive and frankly I can't blame Anakin for falling for her so quickly) but neither of us want to say so bc "this is meant to be fake!!!" Padme spends a lot of time lying on the floor and groaning about it to Anakin. Of course, when the peace treaty is accepted by both of our people's, we're like "Well we have to wait awhile before we can break up or else everyone will know." Time goes by. We don't break up. We confess and we get married. space twitter blows up with excitement.
enemies to lovers: Wolverine. (the Days of Future Past universe.) Not so much bc we actually are enemies but because we simply do not like each other. We can get along, simply because Sentinels are fucking everywhere and actually being enemies-enemies is harder when you're on the same team, but we hate each other. I don't like his attitude, he simply can't give a shit about me because if I don't like him what can he do about it? But we're forced to work together, not just because of the world being in chaos, but because *hand-wavey reasons* we're both the ones being sent back to the 70s to stop Trask and save the future. We put aside our differences to work together and through working with the disasters that are 70s Charles and Erik we gain a deeper respect for each other because hey - at least we aren't THEM. And I see Logan's softer side as he deals with depressed 70s Charles and my heart melts a little but I'm not telling him that. Then we're violently returned to the future and we're the ONLY ones who remember all of the terrible, tragic things that happened before we changed everything, so we have to find solace in each other when struggling to deal with things that technically never even happened.
send me 3 characters and I’ll do slowburn/fake date/ enemies to lovers

Thinking about it, I realized really Lilianne and Jae are Opposites Of eachother
Like I Said before, Lilianne It's The type Of troublemaker that defies law when She sees it as necessary and actually would do Some Good. Jae Is More Of a negotiator than a fighter, also defies law but he does in The Shadows silently and His motivation It's a Little less for “The Greater Good” and More Of “Look, I have Some Ilegal stuff, you have Some money?”
Lilianne can actually avoid detention, With Jae Is something common so he Is More Used to it.
Also, You can Say Gryffindor and Slytherin are rivals and all but they actually kinda are similar to eachother. But I can Say Gryffindor and Ravenclaw are The truly Opposites ones and that's because Gryffindor Is More Of a practical thinking and Ravenclaw It's a More creative and philosophical thinking, Like This Is seen in Luna and Hermione. I know Some People really Think hermione fits Ravenclaw description but I Disagree, She's Books smart and has no creativity at All. Ravenclaw Is More of street smarts and yeah They're passionate about learning but not only what's seen in Books so They're More accepting than a Gryffindor.
Lilianne Is This Ball Of stress and Jae Is overall chill even when He's caught
It’s always so interesting to think about, when characters are alike and when they’re different, and what it says about them if they take this well. You can tell a lot about a character based on how they react when they meet someone who is just like them. Usually they either instantly become best friends...or arch rivals. And which route it goes says so much about the character as a person. Same goes for when they meet someone different from them. One of the most defining things about the Fawley twins, I’d say, is their respective relationships to Merula. Both of them are in stark contrast to her in different ways. But Luca loves her, and Gail can’t stand her. Make of this what you will.
But getting into Jae, I love your description of him as a negotiator. Because that’s absolutely what he is, but he still dabbles in the Dark Side in ways that other characters who’ve been given that title do not. (I’m thinking of Obi Wan Kenobi, personally, but he’s not the only one.) He’s got that ability to gauge situations and has something of a unique, but consistent morality about them. In a way, that’s why he isn’t a Slytherin. Because he does have a moral code he appears to believe in, even if it’s more woolly that morality traditionally is supposed to be.
It actually reminds me of Hermione, even though she and Jae are nothing alike. I adore Hermione but there’s no denying she was absolutely ruthless if characters got on her bad side. Rita Skeeter, Marietta Edgecombe, eventually Umbridge too...if you crossed Hermione, you paid dearly for it. There’s even a curious parallel between her and Umbridge if you think about it, in that they both scar their enemies in OOTP and are both absolutely committed to what they believe is true and refuse to hear any arguments against it. Hermione’s rigid belief system is what stops her from being in Slytherin. Because every time she makes a decision, she’s doing what she thinks is right, even if said action’s morality is itself questionable. She believes she’s right, that’s all that matters.
You’re quite right though, about the Houses, and I find that interesting as well. Gryffindor and Slytherin are totally two sides of the same coin, and have more in common than either would care to admit. That’s why they have that rivalry. You could say it was born of the Founders, but how did that feud start? From a place of friendship. Ravenclaw and Gryffindor really are direct opposites, and amusingly I’d say Hufflepuff and Slytherin are the two Houses that have the most in common. They both value loyalty above all else. I’ve always thought of myself as being 90% Hufflepuff and about 10% Slytherin, probably for that reason.

Starting the opening crawl off with a bunch of high brow political information was a BOLD move at best
Obi-Wan "I have a bad feeling about this." Kenobi
YESS OBI AND QUI FUCK EM UP BOIS
Okay okay wait so around 7 minutes into the movie they have a standoff with two droidekas and the droidekas are kicking their asses and so they escape and then somehow just zoom out of the frame?? like they don't walk they're just pulled by some kind of force??? 1999, man
Obi: "The negotiations were short" what a smug ass bitch i love it
"A communications interruption can only mean one thing-invasion" dude what the hell that can not be the case. have you checked the wifi router my guy
Oh fuck I forgot jar jar binks is in this movie get me another beer
also who plays jar jar?? becauseeee I just want to talk. why would you do this to us
That cheek blubbering shaking he does?? JAIL. I AM ABSOLUTELY PUTTING YOU UNDER ARREST STOP RIGHT NOW
Do you think the phantom menace was for the prequels what rise of skywalker was for the sequels in terms of disappointment in the theater
So fun fact about me I have a horrible fear of the ocean and water in general so this whole underwater sequence is literally making my skin crawl
Naboo is vaguely reminiscent of rivendell from lord of the rings I said what I said
While I do respect how much effort they put into the political side of this movie's plot I feel like it's kind of getting in the way tbh
HELL YEAH FIGHT SCENE IN THE HANGAR BAY
Tumblr media
"hello boyos." Me trying to flirt
What makes me emo is knowing that R2 was there for literally everyone's adventures and he saw it all and he knows it all but he can't tell anyone :(
MAULLLLLL HELLO SIR ITS V NICE TO SEE YOU
Jar jar is the 8th circle of hell
How tall is Natalie Portman?? because standing next to Liam neeson she looks like she's about 3 feet 4 inches
Anakin's first words to Padme: "are you an angel?" 🥺🥺 Oh-
Watto's neck beard makes me increeeeedibly uncomfortable
Also why doesnt Jedi mind control work on toyardarians?? I have questions
Jesus christ sebulba is terrifying
OBI'S CAPE IN THE WIND SO MAJESTIC I LOVE IT
Okay so at 38:38 into the movie r2 is going into Ani's bedroom and there's a wood carving that looks exactly like Maz Kanata??? 👀👀👀
🥺🥺🥺 3PO and R2 meeting for the first time!!!
Not jar jar eating his food from his plate like a fucking dog please just kill me
Qui-Gon: "I don't know there's just something about this boy." Me about literally anythinf with a pulse and floppy brown hair
C-3PO: "You know, I find that Jar Jar creature to be a little odd." Lol SAME
What is wild to me is that ani's midichlorian count is dummy thicc but it's not talked about enough to be something I remember
MAUL HAS ENTERED THE SCENE THE MAN IS HERE EVERYONE BATTON DOWN THE HATCHES
Tumblr media
Qui-Gon to Watto: "Patience, my blue friend." Sksksksk Qui-Gon please
Wait wait wait one of the pod racer announcers is played by one of the guys who was on Whose Line is it Anyway? I just realized! What an amazing show I miss it everyday
That animal farting in jar jar's face lol he deserves it
Also lol why is sebulba so mean to Anakin?? Anakin is like 9 years old. Sebulba is definitely full grown. grow up you fucking loser
I've reached that point in my drinking adventure that I am get very tired so fingers crossed that I don't fall asleep 🤞🏻
Watching this pod race sequence as a child is part of the reason I have so much anxiety now
"Skywalker's spinning out of control!" Lol same
Anakin ate that race tbh
Has anyone written qui gon x shmii content?? because he just put a hand on her shoulder and 👀👀 I am thönking
MAUL V QUI FIGHT SCENE LETS GOO
Listen LISTEN Anakin is like what 9 or 10 in this movie and Padme is ?? 15? 16? No dude. No giving of a necklace and saying "I care for you" absolutely not. JAIL
Palpatine is so good at emotionally manipulating people he must drive a Honda Accord and his favorite movie must be Clockwork Orange
MACE WINDU I SEE YOUUUU YEEHAW
The reveal of Padme as queen doesn't make any sense. Like why?? You could have just waited until it was absolutely necessary bro no need for a dramatic entrace
Anakin too baby to be in battle
Wait is this movie the Star Wars version of the classic man vs technology?? because I'm thinking about the gungans which are very like organic and versus the droids
Also the gungans shield didn't stop the droids from just straight up walking through so like what the fuck is the point guys
YASSSS Maul and Obi and Qui-Gon here we go!!
Seeing maul bust out the double edged lightsaber really made me tingle when I was a young lass
This maul fight is incredibly extra but what else do you expect from the Star Wars franchise
Qui-Gon meditating while waiting for the barrier to fight Maul is absolutely too much
Yay!! the evil donut blows up
IN CONCLUSION
Tumblr media
I did fall asleep towards the end there I'm not gonna lie, but ya know, we've all seen this movie before, so.
it was just as horrible as i remembered it but like....i did enjoy falling in and out of sleep as it played in the background so that counts for something right??

Remembering Yesterday's Tomorrow (In the Here and Now) - Part 5
-------------
The darkness stretches infinitely. Ahead of her, the only thing Ahsoka can see is the bright shape of Morai, the convor unfailingly flying forward, and the ever-constant blackness that presses in from all directions. And it does press like a physical weight —she can feel it on her skin, a cross between the atmosphere of a planet that has a different gravity, and being submitted in water.
She is viscerally reminded of her time spent in the World Between Worlds, where the rules of conventional gravity and time did not apply. But in comparison, this place feels wild, untouched. No paths of light or dancing stars or infinite doors mark the landscape. It hadn't occurred to her before now that the World Between that she had experienced with Ezra had been artificial, constructed by someone or some group to be just as much a part of the temple on Lothal as any other room or mural.
Walking through the endless void, it seems a little obvious in retrospect.
It's unclear how long she has been following her avian companion, concepts such as hours, minutes and seconds, have no use in this place. There is the sense that she has been walking for a while, but even that is only a vague notion that sits in the back of her mind like the dawning of an idea before it has coalesced. She only knows that she is not where she was when she set out, Rex's grave having disappeared from view almost as soon as she had decided to follow Morai.
Rex.
Her heart twists at the thought of him; the aching loss still too fresh to be touched without dredging up the pain. She touches it anyway; lets herself grieve without shame or obligation, remembering the joy along with the sorrow. His smile, hidden behind his beard, a little crooked and always so genuine; the sound of his voice as he sang in the shower, the embarrassed flush on his face when caught in the act, but willing to oblige with a song when asked; the way he never looked at her with resentment when she had to go and the overwhelming, pulsing, warm joy he broadcasted every time she returned, no matter how long she was away.
Deep inside, she wishes they had more time together, wishes that it hadn't taken so long for her to recognize that her feelings for the clone ran deeper than just friendship. Not the sweeping romantic feelings her old master harbored for his wife, or even the quiet longing between Obi-wan and Santine. It had taken her years to realize that she didn't have those sorts of inclinations and even longer to reconcile it with her ability and capacity to love. She's still not entirely sure she understands it herself but is forever grateful for Rex, who took the time to try and understand and learn, put in his share of effort to make things work between them.
A chirp from Morai brings her back to her surroundings, a little surprised to find that she had stopped walking at some point, her cheeks damp with tears. The bird hovers before her, head tilted with concern, and settles on Ahsoka's shoulder, nuzzling her beak against the Togrutas montral.
Despite herself, Ahsoka smiles and gently strokes the soft feathers before drying her eyes. Morai hoots once before taking off back into the dark, and Ahsoka, heart still full, follows.

To say that Anakin Skywalker is frustrated would be the understatement of the galaxy. It's been almost two weeks since Umbara, two weeks since he left his men in the hands of Krell, two weeks of his Captain being locked away for doing something Anakin does not, cannot fault him for. Just thinking about Krell brings a snarl to his face.
Good riddance, he thinks as he works on writing up his latest report, jamming the stylus too hard against the datapad screen. Not even the sun, shining brightly through the window by his desk, or the feeling of thousands of lifeforms in the force bustling around Coruscant, can lighten his mood.
Yes, Anakin Skywalker is frustrated and angry. Frustrated because Rex doesn't deserve to be kept as a prisoner, mad because he should have known. What good is being the kriffing chosen one if he can't spot a karking Sith Sympathiser when they are standing right in front of him?
All at once, the anger leaves him and is replaced, as it has been off and on since he got the news of Umbara, by the underlying guilt and shame. He should have been there, not flying back to Coruscant to take care of some whim of the Supreme Chancellors.
For the first time in a long time, he resents his old friend. Rationally, he knows Palpatine must have thought he had a good reason, and that perhaps if it were anyone but Rex on the line, he would be able to forgive the older man after a few days. He knows he'll forgive his friend eventually; after all, it was an accident. It's not as if the old senator could have known Krell's true agenda.
But for now, Anakin is still mad. Because it's Rex, his second in command, one of the best damn soldiers he has ever known, and the missions haven't been the same without him, have practically ground to a halt in his absence. More than that, the Captain is one of the few people the Jedi truly considers as a friend.  Someone who doesn't give two shits about the so-called prophecy or his relationship to it, who has seen him at his most ridiculous and still respects him. Is one of the two people -not counting Padmé herself- that knows about his relationship with his wife.
And friends don't just let friends sit in a cell, waiting on either freedom or a death sentence.
A knock on the door pulls him from his reverie.
"Enter."
The door opens with a swish, revealing, to his surprise, Obi-Wan, dressed only in robes for a change, his chest plate and vambrace elsewhere for the time being, looking haggard.
Amusement briefly flickers across the old bond from his Master, before Obi-Wan slumps into the only other chair in the room.
Glad for the excuse to set aside his report, Anakin turns to face the bearded man.
"I didn't expect to see you planetside."
"I'm only here for your Captains Court Marshal. I thought it best if I gave my testimony in person rather then via holo-call. I ship back out to the front lines tomorrow."
Anakin scowls at the mention of the trial but quickly drops it with a sigh.
"Thank you."
Obi-Wan nods.
"He's a good man and doesn't deserve to be punished for his actions on Umbara."
The bearded Jedi pauses in the way that Anakin has come to know means that his former Master wants to say something, but isn't sure how to approach the topic.
"Have you spoken to him yet?"
Inwardly, Anakin curses himself. He thought he had control over his tumultuous emotions, tight enough that they wouldn't spill into the bond with his master and let Obi-Wan glimpse his rolling guilt and anger. Apparently, his control wasn't as good as he had thought.
"Not yet, " he responds truthfully, picking back up the half-finished report and feigning interest, hoping that the appearance of having work to do will discourage Obi-Wan from his line of questioning.
It seems to work, as his former Master goes silent for a few moments. Just when he thinks that Obi-Wan has dropped the topic and that it's safe to put down the report, the older Jedi speaks.
"I think you should visit him. I imagine that it's starting to get a little lonely and that a supportive face might do Rex some good."
To anyone who hadn't grown up under the tutelage of Obi-Wan Kenobi, the double meaning would be subtle, sounding like nothing more than concern for the Clone Captains well being. Anakin does not have that disadvantage, and catches what his Master isn't saying. How visiting Rex might do him some good too.
Anakin takes a moment to breathe deeply before looking at his Master, a sharp reply on the tip of his tongue about being coddled this late in his life, only to cut himself off. Obi-Wan looks tired. Shoulders slumped forward, and the young Jedi briefly wonders how much of his Master's posture in the battlefield is due to the confines of his chest plate and pauldrons enforcing the rigid set to his shoulders.
Gently he reaches out through their shared bond, taking the measure of the bearded man's intentions. He finds nothing malicious, only love and concern, and it feels to his mind, forever the product of a hot and sandy planet, like a cool blanket being draped around his shoulders after a day working in the suns.
"I'll visit him tomorrow."
Obi-Wan smiles, and Anakin finds himself smiling back. With that, the conversation drops into a lull, the two men chatting aimlessly about one thing and another, before eventually checking back around to Obi-Wans up coming mission.
"Where is the Council sending you off to this time?"
"Kiros. It seems the colony there is feeling mounting pressure from the war and has requested aid."
Recognition sparks in the back of Anakin's mind. He was supposed to be joining that mission, but with the trial proceedings running longer than expected, the order had opted not to assign the Knight. Anakin understands the thinking, that doesn't mean he has to like it, but at the same time, he's grateful that he won't be abandoning Rex to his fate alone.
"They found someone to accompany you after all?"
Obi-Wan hums.
"Indeed. Master Ti found herself available, and we are hoping that her presence as a fellow Togruta will help things go over more smoothly."
Anakin huffs in amusement.
"They're an artisans colony, shouldn't be too hard."
The Jedi Master tilts his head in concession and smiles, relaxing back into the chair.
"It will be nice to have a relatively easy mission for a change."
---
Rex is starting to go a little stir crazy. A side effect he had not considered when he had decided to take responsibility for Krell's death. His immediate thoughts had been to keep his men out of harm's way, fix one last piece of the mess that was Umbara.
In hindsight, his plan was a bit shortsighted, but he honestly didn't know what to expect after - if he would still be around or if the galaxy had finished toying with him and would let him march ahead and rest with his brothers.
Two weeks of waking up in a cell, at first on Umbara, later on, a star destroyer, and finally on Coruscant, had cemented the notion that the Captain was in this whatever this is for the long haul. It had also lost its novelty rather quickly. Despite the growing restlessness, only alleviated by the occasional walk to and from the senate building to give testimony, it has given him time to think. Even so, he hasn't come to a decision and so he runs through his options one more time.
He knows Palpatine is corrupt, is the shadow figurehead wielding two separate armies for control of the galaxy, is responsible for the death and misery of millions.
It would be easy to do nothing. To let the war and rebellion play out as they did. He knows that Palatine will get what's coming to him in due time.
Rex buries his face in his hands and feels like a coward for even considering the idea. But the alternative is daunting: Stop the Empire before it can even exist, more so then it already does (it's sickening to see how much is already in place, to realize that between the Separatists and the Republic, the Empire already stretches across the Galaxy, is in every home and hyperspace lane. Seeds of a dark and totalitarian regime just waiting to sprout). He doesn't even know how he would start or if it's even possible to change things on such a large scale.
But things are already different. In small ways, yes, but still distinct from what they were.
Dogma, Hardcase, and a handful of other troopers that would have died (did die once) because of Krell's orders, alive and ready for a fight.
Burgeoning hope roots itself under his ribs, a fragile thing that Rex is afraid to cling too tightly to and accidentally kill, so he lets it sit near his heart, next to his joy and sorrow, and contemplates what it would take to change the fate of the galaxy.
Help, his mind supplies, I need help.
He can't do this alone. It's a risk involving others- letting anyone in on the knowledge he has, or even his suspicions, will raise questions, some that he won't be able to answer truthfully. Even in the privacy of his own mind having experienced it for himself, time travels as an explanation sounds ridiculous, and not everyone will be as willing to believe him as Fives.
And although Rex trusts his brother and knows that Fives will have his back in this, two soldiers do not a rebellion make. But it is a start.
More than people, Rex needs information, connections that can help him prove the Chancellor's corruption. His own set of skills in information gathering is, admittedly, limited, although more comprehensive than it was before he had lived through the Empire. But success hinges on convincing people to join him, and for that, he needs proof.
A face comes to mind, unbidden, and it gives the Captain pause. His first instinct is to bury the idea as deep as he can. Senator Amidala is, by all counts, not someone Rex wants to risk in this endeavor. But he can't deny that she would be nearly perfect for the task, is reasonably sure that she already has a list of the Chancellors more questionable decisions and policies.
The longer he thinks about it, the better he likes the idea. She's an intelligent woman, who Rex knows (if he can recruit her) will understand the risks and the stakes, knows she already has connections of her own, and isn't afraid to get her hands dirty.
One thing is for certain, should he find out, General Skywalker will kill him.

Commander Cody x Jedi!Reader
Protective Sentence Starters : “Don’t ever leave my sight again.”
A/N: So this ended up taking longer than i thought it would...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
         Warnings : None
         Word Count : 1902
Blaster fire exploded all around you as you ran through the streets of Christophsis, almost slipping when you took a turn to sharp. You spared a quick glance over your shoulder and caught a glimpse of  the  battle droids rolling hot on your heels.
"Kriffing hell." You cursed under your breath. You quickly opened up the link on your com. "Cody! Cody, come in!"
"Yes General?" The strained voice of the Clone Commander sounded from your wrist. You could hear the sound of the war going on a couple blocks away. Your heart jumped in your throat at the thought of him being hurt in the battle. You pushed the feeling aside turning another corner.
"Please tell me that you have the droid poppers in place. I'm closing in and I have Destroyers, B2-HA's and tankers on my tail! They're closing in fast and I can't take them out by my self."
"Sorry General. These clankers are coming in to heavy." There was a thud and a grunt before he continued. "We might need to lose ground if were goin' to win this battle."
"Cody is right, (Y/N)." Obi-Wan Kenobi's voice patched in on the com. You huffed as you turned another corner.
          And into a dead end.
"Oh no...." You gasped. "Kriff!" You yelled as a blaster bullet nearly missed your temple.
"(Y/N)- General, are you okay?" The Commanders worried voice carried over the loud sounds of blasters. Quickly as you could, you pulled your lightsaber out and deflected as many shots as you could.
"No!" You gritted your teeth. Sweat starting to bead on your forehead. "I must have taken a wrong turn! I'm stuck... In a dead end." You grunted falling back until the wall hit your back. The way to get back was closed off by 4 Destroyers and 3 B2-Ha's. The tanker was just starting to come into view.
"You need to get back over here and regroup with the rest of the battalion." Obi-Wan commanded.
"No." You hissed as you ricocheted a bullet back and shot down one of the B2 units.
"No?! What the kriff do you mean no?" Cody snapped and the grunted and you heard more blaster shots ring out.
"You guys are swarmed. If I regroup, I'll just end up bringing all these droids to you. You'll be over run!" You threw your last droid popper and set it off. The electrical shock gave you enough time to jump along the walls and behind the the tank. It slowly started to turn as you dashed down the street again, leading the opposing army away from the rendezvous point.
"I'm going to lead them in the other direction." A realization hit you and your voice turned somber as you turned and saw two more tanks join the chase behind you. "I'll hold them off as long as I can."
"(Y/N), no! You must regroup!" Cody urged frantically.
"I'm sorry, Cody." You sighed, tears forming in your eyes and you turned the com off, running away from what you were sure was your only hope at survival.
Commander Cody ducked behind a broken wall as more shots barely missed him. He furiously jammed on him com device, trying to connect to you again.
"(Y/N)! Dammit!" He exclaimed in frustration and pulled himself from behind the wreckage and focused his anger on taking out as many droids as he could before needing to duck down again.
"Calm yourself Cody!" Obi-Wan called from behind a downed walker. "We need you focused! (Y/N) will have to take care of herself." His heart jumped into his throat at the thought of you facing at least half of a droid battalion all by yourself.
Cody knew it was wrong and against every regulation, but he cared for you more deeply than he should of. He wasn't even sure himself when the respect he had for you being a General and a friend turned into longing of wanting you beside him every day. He spent most days at your side and most nights being not to far from you. It was only thing about this god forsaken war that he enjoyed. He knew with every fiber of his being that he was in love you. When he was alone at night, he spent his time trying to remember when those feeling changed.
Had it been when he took you 79's after a long drawn out battle to relax and you out drank more than half men there in a drinking game? The repercussions of which cause Cody to have you carry you back to your room at the Jedi temple while you drunkenly explained to him why purple wasn't a color but a lifestyle.
Was it every time the two of you would sit atop one of the gunships while everyone else was sleeping? You always had yourself wrapped in a soft blanket and he would always bring the caf. The two of you would spend hours talking or just sitting in the quiet watching the stars.
Maybe it was the way you jumped into battle to protect those who couldn't  protect themselves and even always made sure to cover his brothers if you could.
Cody could contemplate all the ways he had fallen for you but he knew the answer to his internal conflict.
He knew he loved you from the moment he met you. Your easy smile and the way your eyes lit up every time you talked to him, how couldn't you melt his heart? And he knew he could never live with himself if he didn't help you now, against orders or not.
"I'm going to help General (Y/N)!" Cody yelled, looking to were your last com coordinates came from. "She won't make it on her own!"
"No Cody! I'm ordering you stay here!"
"I'm sorry General but I can't do that." Cody looked at Obi-Wan, and even though Cody was wearing his helmet, Obi-Wan could feel the determined gaze.
Sighing Obi-Wan nodded and pointed off past the right of the droid army.
"She's over that way." Cody swung his head in the direction his General pointed and sure enough every few seconds a red bullet could be seen flying towards the sky. Without looking back, Cody pushed himself out from behind the debris and towards you.
You slammed yourself against the wall after rounding the corner, trying to catch your breath.
'I can't keep this up much longer.' You thought.
You peeked around the bend and nearly got your nose taken off by a blaster shot. You tore yourself off the wall and started down the street again. You didn't get far before there was a series of explosions behind you. You held out your lightsaber in front of you, ready for whatever was coming around the bend.
"(Y/N)!?" An all to familiar voice called through the smoke and dust. Relief flooded you and you almost collapsed.
"Cody?" You called out tentatively. A figure skidded to a halt in the middle of the intersection and looked around wildly. They did a double take when they saw you. You could have cried when the recognizable orange visor came into view. "Oh.. Cody!" Deactivating your lightsaber, you ran forward and threw your arms around Cody's neck. Without hesitation, he wrapped you in his arms and pulled you tight against him.
"I thought I was a goner..." You mumbled into his armor. Your heart hammered in your chest as you let the man you had fallen in love with hold you. Jedi rules and Clone regulations be damned. If he would ask it of you, you knew you would leave the Jedi Order for him.
"I would never let that happen." Cody stated fiercely and pulled you tighter to him. You felt your face heat up and buried you face into his neck, sighing deeply. You pulled back to say something when a fast scrapping noise rang out in between the buildings. Cody's head swung around and he swore.
"We got rollies coming! And I don't have any droid poppers, only grenades."
"Then drop them!" You insisted and you pulled yourself away from him.
"We won't have enough time to get out of the blast zone." Cody warned as he dropped the grenades and grasped your hand to pull you with him as he started to run down the street. "Hold on!" He yelled and a small group of destroyer droids rolled around the corner. Cody hit the detonator and the next thing you felt was Cody pulling you to his chest and the explosion knock you both off your feet. The air was knock out of your lungs and Cody landed on top of you before both of you rolled to a stop, you on top of him.
Your forehead rested on his bare cheek and you looked up to that the blast has forced his helmet off. You both took deep breaths as you looked into each other eyes. His amber eyes looked deeply into yours and you couldn't help but run your thumb over the scar on his temple. Cody leaned into your touch and sighed. The words were right on the tip his tongue, it was difficult for him not to say them and kiss you. Kiss you and never stop. Unbeknownst to him, you were fighting the same internal battle. And lost.
"I love you." You blurted out and held your breath, waiting to see his reaction. His eyes widen, caught off guard. "I have since I met you." You admitted.
Cody smiled softly as he brushed his fingers along your cheek to tuck hair behind your ear. Cinders from the fire started to fall around the both of you but they were paid no mind.
"Don't ever leave my sight again." He joked and you couldn't help but smile. "I love you." He finally admitted, feeling a weight being lifted from him.
You responded by slowly leaning forward and softy placing your lips over his. It felt like your whole body came alive as his cupped the back of you neck, moving his lips against your at a slow place. You reached up and cupped his face, sighing when he ran his tongue you bottom lip. Without hesitation, you opened your mouth and allowed him to explore. The war, the world, and everything but Cody disappeared. He only pulled away when you both needed air.
"I wish we could stay like this." He confessed and kissed you jaw briefly.
"Hm...." You hummed and pecked his lips one more time. "Maybe when this battle is over, we could find a quiet place to talk?" Cody smiled and pulled you in for another kiss before his com started to beep.
"Cody, did you find General (Y/N)?" Obi-Wan's voice rang out.
"Yes sir, we are on our way back now."
"Good, the enemy forces seem to have been defeated. Make your way to the gunship so we can go."
"Yes, sir." Cody switched the com off and shifted to help you stand up.
"I don't know about you," You started, brushing the dirt off yourself. "But I am starving." Cody chuckled and kissed you deeply once more before retrieving his helmet.
"Same. How 'bout we grab dinner when we get back to the Resolute?"
"I think I could do that." You smiled coyly and for what felt like the first time in your life, you felt complete.

Well, the most simply answer to "wtf is a Sith" would be that they're people who have the same powers as the Jedi, but unlike them they solely use them for their own gain. Of course the Jedi would then be in the uncomfortable position to have to explain to both the Republic and the CIS why they kept the existence of such a dangerous sect secret, but that's something I'd actually be delighted to see as while the Jedi are certainly not evil, they do need to get off their high horse somewhat.
But here isthe problem: people don’t know about the Jedi either. The Jedi Order was soremoved from the rest of the galaxy most people didn’t know what the Jedi didor if they even existed.
Let’s takeBail Organa as an example. Bail was respected Senator and a member of theSenate’s Security Committee. And here is what he thought and knew about theJedi:
“If it’s Jedi business, why come to me? Youshould be speaking with them.” Ignoring his own tea, [Bail] shook his head. “I don’t know them, Padmé. At least, notwell. Not the way you do. And they don’t know me. There’s no reason to thinkthey’d believe what I have to say. Especially given the circumstances.” [KarenMiller’s The Clone Wars: Wild Space]
“Padmé,” [Bail] said, and swung about to faceher. “Have you ever heard of the Sith?”Sith. The name alone was enough to raise her hackles. Twice their machinationshad nearly killed her. And because of the hurt inflicted upon Anakin, and themurder of Qui-Gon Jinn, and the sufferings of Naboo under Trade Federationoccupation, the Sith had earned her undying hatred. But she couldn’t tell Bailthat. As Naboo’s child-Queen, she’dpromised Master Yoda she would never reveal what she’d learned of them. She’drenewed that promise to Obi-Wan on the desperate flight from Geonosis toCoruscant, when she’d overheard things not meant for her ears. Sithlightning. Dooku. A dreadful betrayal. So with only the smallest twinge of conscience, she looked at Bail Organa and lied to him a second time. “Sith? No. Why?Who—what—are they?” “I don’t know,” hesaid, frustrated. [Karen Miller’s The Clone Wars: Wild Space]
“Padmé, please. I can’t do this without you. You’re the Jedi’s friend, a trusted ally. If you speak up for me, if you vouchfor me to them, then—” “They’ll trust you?” Though she was deeply disturbedby his news, she had to smile. “The friend of my friend is my friend?” His ownsmile was as brief. [Karen Miller’s The Clone Wars: Wild Space]
Padmécontacts Obi-wan and he goes to her home.
“I have a visitor, Obi-Wan. Senator BailOrgana of Alderaan. He claims to have received word of a planned attack againstyou … by the Sith.” Betweenbreaths he changed. She felt it. Felt the warmth of his humanity flash-freezeto ice. Felt the air surrounding them crackle with power. In the hangar onNaboo, facing the red-and-black Sith assassin—in her apartment bedroom, havingnarrowly escaped being murdered by the bounty hunter Zam Wessell—in the arenaon Geonosis, staring at monstrous, mechanical death—she’d felt it then, too:Jedi. She stepped back, her skin prickling. “I’ve told him nothing. Whatever he knows, his contact told him.” “Whatcontact?” Obi-Wan asked. “What precisely does Senator Organa know?” “You’llhave to ask him that,” she said. “He came to me because the Jedi don’t know himvery well. Because he trusts me, and he knows you trust me, too.” OutwardlyObi-Wan seemed to do nothing, but his terrible aspect eased. Her skin stoppedprickling. “And do you trust him?” he asked, mildly enough. “I do. He’s a goodman, Obi-Wan. He loves the Republic. He works as hard as any Jedi to see itkept safe.” There was the faintestderision in Obi-Wan’s clear blue eyes. “He’s a politician, Padmé.” [KarenMiller’s The Clone Wars: Wild Space]
“Then what?Senator, if you have an observation to make about the Jedi, you should feelfree to make it. We are not some secret society, immune from publiccommentary.” Organa swallowed the rest of his ale in one gulp. “No. But you are pretty mysterious.”“Mysterious? I hardly think so.” “Ha,” said Organa. “Now who’s beingdisingenuous? Sure, you’ve got a publicface. Guardians of the peace. Upholders of the law. Protectors of the weak andhelpless. Wherever there’s trouble, there’s a Jedi trying to put out the fire.Everyone knows that. But you’re a bit spooky, too. You’ve got this mystique. This—this aura. You’re not like the rest of us, Master Kenobi. You’re beingsapart, with powers and abilities ordinary folk can’t understand. You getblown up and hey presto! You’re healed. Not a mark to show for it. Not a limp. Not anything. When normal people get hurt, there’s a consequence. But not foryou Jedi.” [Karen Miller’s The Clone Wars: Wild Space]
Thissituation changes after Bail befriends Obi-wan but senators like Bail and Padméwere only one of the very few in the galaxy who knew about the Jedi’s abilities. And Padmé knew a little more than Bail because Anakin told her. so if, BailOrgana, a man we know had close ties with the Jedi knew very little about theForce and its inner working, I doubt the average citizen would know enough tounderstand what a Jedi was capable of.
Even theclones didn’t fully understand what it meant to be a Jedi. they too had a lotof questions that went mostly unanswered. The Jedi were private. They callthemselves open to the galaxy but the truth is most people didn’t even knowexisted. And those who did, didn’t know how they worked or what they could do.as we all know, the Jedi were masters at keeping secrets and lying about the knowledgeand power they had.
So saying aSith is the equivalent of an evil Jedi wouldn’t mean much to a population thathad no idea what a Jedi was.
Btw…oh yeah…I would pay all the money in the world to see Yoda squirm trying to explain theCouncil’s lies to the entire galaxy!! Now THAT is what I’d call a good storylol

Okay, but did Obi-Wan even know that Anakin was the duke or did his oblivious butt -- because who cares you know? -- just think that this attentive, kind, handsome, and respectful alpha is wonderful. He shared five dances with this perfect alpha. And now he's in heat... and it's during the next dance when Anakin is acting cold that he's told that that's the all important duke who just arrived back to town after traveling abroad, and now Obi-Wan is like oh... he's a duke who was probably just out to have a good time and why would he genuinely be interested in an untitled omega. Even after when they're friends (and isn't that something? They talk to each other and share one dance per party and they smile at each other across loaded ballrooms and sometimes Obi-Wan thinks Anakin holds him just that bit tighter when their dance draws to a close... sometimes he thinks he can feel Anakin squeeze his waist and he can feel Anakin's breath brush against his ear before he lets him go reluctantly... but they're just friends and that's enough. It is.) that insecurity that's planted in Obi-Wan persists. When they finally get together, Anakin holds Obi-Wan close and closer and closer still and in that moment that uneasy feeling of being not enough finally dissipates.
(...I wrote a whole short answer essay to a question never posed. Anyway...I always enjoy poking at Obi-Wan's insecurities and seeing them fleshed out even in AUs, and you are great at writing and going through Obi-Wan's own perceived failings!)
ah??? i've never really thought of this, but at the same time, i feel like obi-wan doesn't know anakin's the duke at first.
they share five dances and obi-wan, who never lets himself think positively of the future at all, thinks well maybe this time something amazing will happen
(and then he goes into heat and anakin calls at least three times during his heat but the housekeeper doesn't given obi-wan the message)
and then the next dance he can go to after his heat scent has faded, anakin is cold to him and it's devastating.
but actually being friends with anakin is more devastating because anakin holds him so close during their dances and later, during their talks (during the day and 100% away from the pressure of mating, Anakin assures both Qui-Gon and Cody) anakin doesn't pressure him at all into a mating dance or bite? which is just......
awful.
