BB!Bumble
If Bumble has millions of fans I am one of them. If Bumble has ten fans I am one of them. If Bumble has only one fan that's me. If Bumble has no fans, that means I'm dead. If the world is against the Bumble, I am against the world.
Tumblr media
[ID: Bumble from WC on a purple, pink, and blue background. She is a fat tortoiseshell cat with a white chest and paws and bright orange dapples. She has two pawprint-shaped marks on her face and a torn ear.]
Need an animation-friendly version? Go here!
I won't get into a rant here, but go ahead and review the scene where Bumble gets exiled if you wanna get mad. Fair warning that I do not like Canon DOTC and I'm not 'nice' towards it.
BB!Bumble is the mate of Turtle Heart, and eventually ThunderClan's greatest asset. She cracks open diplomacy for the underdog Clan, allowing them to speak with cats for whom there would otherwise be a serious language barrier.
Her personality is self-confident, outgoing, and compassionate. She loves funny idioms and turns-of-phrase, and is always down to hear a good story. Of course, she also LOVES a good meal, and sees the incalculable value in a long nap before a hard decision.
After her death, Bumble becomes the ancient patron of Speech and Communication. When love makes you tongue-tied, when you hear the perfect phrase and it echoes in your head for hours after, when you need to find the right words to express a complicated idea, that is a moment to invoke Bumble.
(Full outline below!)
When Turtle Heart fled Tom and his violence, Bumble came a few weeks later and was accepted into the Clan as long as Turtle was there to vouch for her. Her membership was always tenuous though, completely dependent on her mate hunting for her.
Disaster struck when Tom stole their children, and Turtle Heart died trying to retrieve them. With Bright Storm as their godmother, Tall Shadow saw no reason to keep the "useless outsider" Bumble as part of the Clan. Bright Storm, blinded by love she still had for Clear Sky, did not fight for her and concluded it was a hard choice but the right one.
Around this time, Thunder Storm had come to reject Clear Sky and his brutal Clan. After Sunlit Frost was exiled for being unable to hunt with an infected wound, they decided to return to Shadow's Clan together. Upon finding Bumble exiled, Thunder Storm roared at the cruelty and injustice of what he found.
When Bright Storm tried to calm him, Thunder snapped, "I didn't think I would come home to find a second Clear Sky!"
Rallying his small group of supporters, Lightning Cry, Acorn Swoop, and Sunlit Frost, he charged off to go find her. They found Bumble just in time to see Clear Sky "warning" her by ripping her ear off, and Thunder Storm launched himself at his father. The brawl became ferocious, a SkyClan patrol barreling in to defend their leader.
Just as it seemed like Thunder Storm was pinned and bested, from the undergrowth it's BRIGHT STORM WITH THE STEEL CHAIR
And several reinforcements! The words stuck with her and made her realize what she'd been doing, and understand that now was the time to fight against what she was becoming. The fighting reached a crescendo. Thunder's followers were still outnumbered but holding a stalemate, and then, at that moment, a tree creaked and groaned.
The cats disentangled at just the right moment to leap away from a falling ash tree, splitting the groups in two. Thunder Storm leapt up on top of the trunk, a wayward sunbeam making his fur shine tiger-orange. Bloodied and seeing a sign from their ancestors, Clear Sky's defeated warriors ran home.
Clear Sky himself lingered for a moment longer, meeting the blaze in his son's amber eyes, catching Bright Storm's scorn, and then turning away without a single word.
This is the start of ThunderClan.
Bumble quickly becomes one of its most important members. She is able to speak to the River Kingdom to the west and the Wind Coalition to the north, earning them allies when they might not have had any. ThunderClan's early fate is to roam around the Forest as needed, trying to avoid too many skirmishes and remaining close to whoever their current ally is.
But before then, ThunderClan's first order of action is to retrieve Bumble's kits from ShadowClan.
But that's a story for another time.

I'm on book 2 of Warriors, Fire and Ice, left off on ch. 18.
The brief moments we've gotten of Fireheart meeting his sister, Princess again and sneaking off to visit her; Sharing memories of her when they were kits and washing off her scent when he returns to Thunderclan. Thinking of how these are such happy moments for him, so much so that he feels confused and almost torn in his duties and loyalties to Thunderclan. Coupled with the resentment, bitterness and anger towards some of the cats within the clan who view him as beneath them for having been born a "kittypet."
And I just. Okay, where are my shipcest shippers at!! I haven't really been active in the fandom yet because I want to avoid spoilers (though I do more or less know what happens between them later. Lol).
And anyways, does this ship have a name? I tried looking it up, but didn't really find anything. If it does not have a ship name, how about Fireprincess? I think it sounds cute and is perfect because if I'm not mistaken Fireheart's name changes again later on to Firestar.
Anyways, Greystripe has the storyline I would have loved to see for Fireheart and Princess. LOL. I want to see the drama and more confusion of Fireheart having to be angry and defend himself seeing his sister who is a non clan member and worse for Thunderclan a "kittypet." I want more drama and angst of Fireheart having to choose where he would rather be - Thunderclan who accepted him, despite some of the cats attitudes and those he has come to care for or his sister who he just found and connected to again. Princess who is so kind and gentle and loves him for who he is. Warrior, Kittypet, it doesn't matter.
I don't know how it would work with the current storyline though - Bluestar being on her last life, Fireheart's apprentice in bad shape, Tigerclaw's shady character, Shadowclan and Riverclan's plots, Greystrip seeing a riverclan warrior. So much stuff happening. Lol.
I just want to see a fic that just focuses on that drama I mentioned regarding Fireheart and Princess. As for the actual shipcest. I'm not far enough into the series so I also don't know how the clans and kittypets would view a brother/sister relationship that is more than just sibling love. But for, sure I am all for the forbidden romance trope it could bring! Adds to the drama and angst!
It could make it even more better if imagine an au, where for his sister, Fireheart decides to leave Thunderclan no matter how grateful and how much he has come to love some of its members. I can see Bluestar respecting his wishes because she's a very wise and patient leader. Idk how Greystripe would react, guess it depends if his own love plot is still in this au. Lol.
But anyways, Fireheart decides to leave and imagine him starting his own clan made solely of kittypets. The ones he grew up with. Maybe like a best of both worlds scenarios. The kittypets can still live with and enjoy their two legs, but also have their own territory close to the two legs they guard and patrol. So they can be somewhat wild, but still have the comforts of a kittypet life. Idk how feasible this scenario would be, but I just think it's fun to think about. Especially, if Fireheart and Princess are sort of the "queen" and "king" of the clan and can eventually and finally be free to fully love each other and share a life together.
Idk what any of this is. I have lot of thoughts. Lol. I would love to hear everyone else's thoughts. Though, I would be thankful if spoilers could be kept to a minimum if possible cause I want to try and avoid spoilers as much as possible! I just had to make this post cause Fireheart x Princess (FirePrincess if it truly has no ship name) sounds like a cute ship xD

Dark Forest Resident: Jaggedbriar
Tumblr media
Aliases / Nicknames: Mom, Mother, Our Precious Kit
Gender: she-cat
Sexuality: asexual, aromantic
Family: unnamed mother, unnamed father, unnamed brother, Lionroot (mate), Nightflower (daughter)
Other Relations: unnamed mentor, unnamed apprentice
Clan: Thunderclan
Rank: warrior
Characteristics: kills to protect her daughter from the life she herself couldn’t escape
Number of Victims: 3
Number of Murders: 3
Murder Method: crushing, ripping tongue out / drowning on blood
Known Victims: her mother, her father, unnamed Thunderclan tom
Victim Profile: those who bother her daughter
Cause of Death: head injury during a hunt
Cautionary Tale: don’t force your children into a life that they don’t want
Story:
A mate, a litter of kits. It was the perfect life.
And she wanted no part of it.
Jaggedbriar had never felt romantic or physical feelings for, hell, anyone in her life. She figured she wasn’t ‘normal,’ when the other apprentices would stay up late and gossip about their crushes and she had nothing to contribute.
She told her mother, even the medicine cat, and they all said the same thing of ‘you just need to find the right one.’
But the feelings they described when you apparently do find the ‘right one,’ were feelings she was unfamiliar with.
She had been a warrior for many moons without taking a mate, in spite of the efforts of Lionroot, who mooned over her, according to her parents. Eventually her parents snapped at her, angry that she was ‘isolating herself’ even though she spoke often with friends.
They claimed that she was ‘lonely’ even though she didn’t feel such a way, that she would regret not having kits while she was still able to, even though Jaggedbriar never had the stirrings.
They began to say how others were thinking she was weird, that to save her own image and the image of her kin, she had to settle down with a mate and, better yet, bear his kits.
So she gave in. She accepted Lionroot’s latest offer, and soon enough fell pregnant with kits. It was a small litter, that she was happy for. One precious, little she-kit.
She didn’t love Lionroot, but she did care for her daughter. It wasn’t her fault that Jaggedbriar was forced into having her. While Little Nightpaw trained how to hunt and fight, Jaggedbrair also took the time to teach her how to be a good Clanmate, respecting others’ bounderies, and how to be a supportive friend, etc.
Then Jaggedbriar’s brother died.
His bloodline was gone, and Jaggedbriar’s parents began pestering Nightflower into settling down with a mate and having kits.
No.
No.
She loved her daughter, but it is not the life she wanted. And she will be damned if she will allow the same scenario to happen to her. She told off her parents, but they persisted, speaking to Nightflower behind her back.
Nightflower confided in her mother, admitting that the pressure was getting to her, but that she did not want to have a mate.
Jaggedbriar saw no other way around it. She got the idea when she noticed a crickety tree, loosened from the soil after the recent rainfall. She would only need to dig a little bit before it fell.
She couldn’t afford to go wrong.
And she didn’t.
Moons later, a tom kept pestering Nightflower, trying to get her to become his mate and insisting that she liked him and should just admit it.
He had to stop talking.
So she tore his tongue out. She only meant to injure him, and even then didn’t mean to be so brutal, but the rage had gotten to her, and he drowned on his blood.
Nightflower eventually came to her mother, nervously announcing that she found a mate. It was Goldenpetal, a she-cat.
She was someone Nightflower wanted to be with. Jaggedbriar loved her daughter, and was glad that she could now have a happy life.
She only wishes to have lived longer to witness it.
Additional Information:
--Might also make Nightflower a resident just because I like her name so much. She looks a lot like her mother, if a bit darker.

Romantic Relationships in Eldritch AU: Fireroot and Squirrelflight
Tumblr media
Basically everyone in the warriors fandom can agree on one thing: The Erins have written some of the worst romantic dynamics into Warriors. I don't know how anyone that experiences romantic attraction can screw it up this bad, but they did.
Some relationships are important in the series, some aren't, and many, MANY relationships feel like they were shoehorned in.
Today, I want to talk about Fireroot (briefly) and the poster child of those bad dynamics-- Squirrelflight.
Fireroot
In this AU, Firestar is a medicine cat. Therein lies the problem.
There's not much to say here other than the fact that I have decided Squirrel and Leaf should replace Cloudtail-- that meaning that the two are Princess's kits. It provides anonymity to their gene pool, and also allows for more equal age between Brambleclaw and Ashfur.
Speaking of...
Squirrelflight
Poor Squirrelflight is constantly the victim of emotional abuse, and it's never acknowledged in the series.
So it gets addressed in this AU. To remove it would wound the plot severely, but having her take action would make it so much better.
So... Squirrelflight and Brambleclaw are friends initially. Not exactly healthy friends, but friends. She, unfortunately, suffers from a lack of respect from senior warriors, peers, and apprentices, despite how social she may seem, and therefore, has few close friends.
She's flirty with Brambleclaw-- nothing serious-- but Leafpool is called on the journey as well as Brambleclaw, so she stays behind, and finds companionship in Ashfur. At first, it's normal, but he asks to go steady, and that's when the problems start.
She's never separate from him, which seems okay at first, but no matter if she wants to be alone or not, he seems to cling on. When confronted, he just goes 'I hate being away from you.' Squirrelflight-- unfortunately unfamiliar with the difference between love, loneliness and codependency, accepts this as part of a relationship. He's also asking many times if she loves him, needing to constantly hear it.
It only gets worse when Brambleclaw returns. The two begin competing viciously, and Squirrel doesn't speak up this time, too exhausted by being around Ashfur, and fearful of losing her only equals.
Before long, she's cornered by Ashfur, and finally, she decides to make a choice, feeling that 'neither' was not an option. She chooses Brambleclaw, who has much more tolerance for her personal space.
This means Ashfur turns the cold shoulder, jealous and seething.
And thus, she finds herself isolated-- outside of her sister, parental figures, and Brambleclaw, she feels horribly lonely. Although family is good companionship, they're often busy, and not the same as having unrelated friends.
When she begins caring for the Three, it becomes apparent how anxious and explosive he can be; the two argue, but they keep the kids out of it-- or at least they try.
They usually avoid being together while spending time with the kits. Both of them are aware of how horribly mangled their relationship is, but they're unsure how to deal with breaking up, so they just do their best to give the kids a happy upbringing.
It ultimately falls apart when Hollyleaf tells everyone the truth about their heritage. Brambleclaw, put under the pressure of remaining formal as a deputy, the fear of his relationship with the kids collapsing, anger that Squirrel hid it from him, the knowledge that Holly killed Ashfur, and overwhelming denial, snaps at Holly, spilling the truth about the murder, causing the clans to fly into a rage that such a traitor existed, as well as causing ThunderClan to chase her into the tunnels.
That's when the already-strained thread snaps between him and his family, as well as his respect from Brightheart-- or Brightstar in this case, due to her status as leader, causing him to be removed from the role of deputy due to his poor handle on the situation.
Finally free from her relationship, Squirrelflight found herself further shunned due to her part in hiding the scandal, but over time, people began to acknowledge her loss, and finally, cats gained a deep respect for her.
She lost everything, but she picks up the pieces, and she moves on. Her kin aren't angry at her for lying-- not the three, even. The three are angry at Leafpool, but Squirrelflight cared for them since they were kits.
Brambleclaw does not seek to reconcile, and neither does she. The two come to a ceasefire, and she finally comes to find her true place in ThunderClan, able to stand as her own cat without someone attached by default.

Kit guardian AU anon here! (Who may actually eventually write something for it, I’m kinda loving it…)
Anyways, more trivia time cause again- I’m kinda obsessed with it!
Due to Mapleshade’s whole thing, the clans are more accepting of outsiders to their clans- especially kits. Because of this, there are quite a few loners and kittypets accepted into the clans (mainly WindClan).
RiverClan has Sasha, Tadpoleleap, Mothwing, and Hawkfrost. Mapleshade does rounds in the twoleg place as well because of the whole incident with Tiny and finds Tadpole about to drown. She saves him and after Sasha thanks her, Mapleshade realizes that Hawk looks an awful lot like Tigerstar. And since she has no tact whatsoever, basically states that. And then proceeds to bring them to RiverClan because she still dislikes RiverClan and thought it would be karma to force them to take in a mother who nearly lost her kit to drowning after they turned her away.
ThunderClan has Icefur (Scourge), Firestar, and Brookshine (Princess). Mapleshade found Princess about to give Cloudkit up and convinced her to bring the entire litter to ThunderClan. She didn’t stick around, but when Princess tells the clan a large tortoiseshell brought her there, Bluestar in particular realizes it was the Kit Guardian and they are accepted with little resistance. As a side note, Cloudtail, his brother Breezefur, and his sister Petalfoot become mates with Brightheart, Lynxlight (Lynxkit- Swiftpaw’s sister), and Swiftspirit (Swiftpaw) respectively. The entire group is super close and Brightpaw, Swiftpaw, and Lynxpaw all managed to survive the dogs because there was three of them (they still get named Lostface, Dogthroat, and Brokenfoot). Also Icefur is mates with Nighttooth, Tigerstar’s sister just because I find it funny.
ShadowClan has the least amount of rogues, with it just being Russetstar and Boulder at the time of TNP. They do gain a few at the Lake territories, namely Scorchfur, Snowbird’s mate.
WindClan has the most. Mapleshade saw Onewhisker turn Smoke away and went “ahahaha, no.” And brought her to WindClan’s camp and marched in to the shock of the entire clan and slapped Onewhisker. “You will let the kittypet you knocked up stay here or so help me I will rip your entrails from your body and paint the territory with them.”
Yeah, Whitetail (pregnant with her and Onewhisker’s second litter) hears this and is about as horrified as Smoke is to learn Onewhisker was cheating on her. They both dump him unceremoniously and lean on each other for support as they raise their litters together. By the time Po3 rolls around, they’re mates and Whitetail has his third litter with a donor (which in this au is actually not that strange)
But WindClan also has Nightcloud, a random loner they took in, and Owlwhisker, Leaftail, and Weaselfur are all brothers who were kits when BloodClan was doing their whole messing with the clan’s thing after the BloodClan battle. Brownstep (Brownpaw from ShadowClan) and Blossomsong (Blossompaw from ShadowClan) were the two kit warriors who chose to stay in WindClan after WindClan returned and later became mates. They find these three kits battling alongside adults and immediately decide “nope, these are ours now” and take them in.
And since I really don’t have anywhere to put it, due to Stonefur surviving and being Graystripe’s father in this AU, Graystripe returns to RiverClan after the BloodClan battle. Eventually, he and Mosspelt (the queen who fostered Feather and Storm and who, if you look at the timeline of her pregnancy… basically got pregnant as an apprentice or within days after her ceremony by Frogleap) become mates, healing from their trauma together and Graystripe fathers Willowkit (Willowshine- named after his mother Willowpelt), Rainkit (Rainstorm) and Mintkit (Mintfur). He does still get captured and does still bring Millie with him but she decides to go to ThunderClan while he returns to RiverClan.
This is so good, if you do end up writing anything send me a link, I would love to see it

Icecloud x Non-binary hollyleaf hypokits?
Warriors Ship Hypokits- Nonbinary!HollyxIce Edition
Tw for slight mention of gender dysphoria and Hollyleaf is referred to as female for one line at the beginning. The story ends happily and the misgendering is due to Holly not knowing that they are trans at the time, but I'm placing this warning here just in case
In this AU, Hollyleaf grows up feeling as if something is fundamentally wrong with them. They don't fit in with the other mollies in the Clan, but mistake this for just being an outsider, suspecting their mother Squirrelflight had them and their brothers with a cat from another Clan. They and Icepaw have a mutual crush on each other, but Holly is too focused on trying to figure out why they feel so uncomfortable (and thinks it’s because they are not entirely ThunderClan) so they put it on hold and remain friends. It's later revealed via the fire scene and a vengeful Ashfur that the three are half-clan and Leafpool's kits and Hollyleaf ends up fleeing into the tunnels. When Hollyleaf meets Fallen Leaves in the tunnels, he helps them realize that they are nonbinary and the two bond over it (FL is also trans). They encounter the abandoned fox-kit but the kit's mother never returns and Hollyleaf becomes a parent. When Hollyleaf returns to the Clans to kick Sol into oblivion, they do it alongside Tunnelkit (who is now pretty big and intimidating). They come out to their supportive community and finally confess to Icecloud they like her, with her happily reciprocating. Icecloud becomes Tunnelkit's (now Tunnelpaw) other parent, and she and Hollyleaf have three kits together with Lionblaze's assistance (four counting Tunnel), with Icecloud carrying:
Tunnelbite- large gray fox with brown eyes. Doesn't really care about gender, toric (nblm). They use he/she/they pronouns interchangeably. Named for the tunnels he was found in as a baby. ThunderClan was always pretty accepting to Tunnelbite as Hollyleaf's child (after a brief moment of terror because giant scary fox). She has a good grasp of cat speech due to being raised by them. He is very thoughtful and enjoys hunting with his family. Tunnelbite doesn't stay with ThunderClan for long after they grow up, deciding to seek out other foxes. They visit their parents and siblings from time to time, and eventually bring their own kits and their mate to meet their cat family. He helps the cats communicate with the foxes and come to a peace agreement to stop problems between them. She doesn't have a Clan Rank.
Fallenrain- dark-gray-and-white tom with green eyes. Cis tom, gay. Named for his loving ghost uncle Fallen Leaves. Fallenrain is a bit of a nervous wreck and has issues with interacting with other cats properly. He tries his best, but gets too wrapped up in his own thoughts. His only real friends are the spirits that he is able to see that no one else can. He struggles a lot in Clan life, ultimately deciding to become a kittypet and is renamed Henry by his Twolegs. He enjoys being a kittypet much more than Clan life but does miss and worry about his family. Luckily, Henry is allowed to come visit them occasionally and enjoys catching up on the latest Clan gossip when he does. When he was a Warrior, he was a Scout.
Chervilthroat- very pale cream-and-gray tom with yellow eyes. Trans tom, omnisexual. Chervilthroat is a calm and gentle cat with a knack for making compromises and brokering peace. While he is actually an incredibly good fighter he prefers it only as a last resort. He tried to be a Medicine Cat for a while, but found that it just wasn't for him. His handsome appearance and kindly demeanor results in him being the object of affection for many cats in ThunderClan and outside of it, but he himself is only interested in one cat, that being Ambermoon. When the two finally smooch there is equal amounts of rejoicing and jealousy. He is a Mediator.
Mistletoeheart- spiky-furred golden molly with green eyes. Trans molly, polyamorous lesbian. Mistletoeheart is a bouncy and energetic cat whose personality is as bright and eye-catching as her fur. She is a deeply loving cat who is a hopeless romantic. However it would seem that she looks for love in all the wrong places and falls way too fast for a healthy relationship. It takes a lot of failed relationships for her to learn, but once she does realize the issues in her approach she seeks to correct them. Once she does, she becomes a much better partner in the future. Despite her loving nature, she finds battles thrilling and fun and revels in them. She is a Brute.

From The Ashes AU - Origins
okay, so something that started as an idea for Squirrelflight's Hope to the song How To Save A Life by The Fray quickly took a life on it's own and I had a whole idea and now I just wanna share this rq
I am working on requested things, I promise, I just have no attention span and listening to songs is my worse crime
tw; mentions of abuse
In this AU, Squirrelflight died in the landslide instead of Leafpool, having used the very last moments she could to try to throw herself between her sister and the rubble.
Leafpool is surprised when she learns that she isn't dead and that Squirrel will be in StarClan. The two of a tearful goodbye before Leafpool wakes up.
When she wakes, she finds Bramblestar grieving and, angry, she goes off on him, telling him how his abuse of her sister eventually led to her death and she even tells him that she hopes every nine of his lives is nothing but suffering because of what he had done to her, to make her feel like she was worthless.
Bramblestar is shocked and a bit outraged that that's how she'd treat her sister's grieving mate, but Leafpool outright states he lost that right to be considered family the moment he blamed her for Leafpool's crime
She starts walking out of camp and he demands to know where she's going
She states simply that she can't live in this Clan anymore
Everyone tries to convince her to stay, but she refuses.
Sparkpelt steps forward and everyone is excited for Squilf's daughter to help, only to be surprised when Sparkpelt announces she's going with Leafpool and taking her kits with her
Bramblestar tries to stop her, but Sparkpelt goes off on her father, saying that she thought all relationships were supposed to be as terrible as Bramble was to Squirrel, but when she was with Larksong, she learned that what Bramble had done to her mom was wrong and that she regretted ever calling him her father
With that, Leaf and Spark grab Flamekit and Finchkit and the two leave
.
They spend the first few days considering joining another Clan, but Sparkpelt makes it clear that she's not fond of the idea.
During one of these debates they are found by Stormcloud, Daisy, Lionblaze, Cinderheart, Cherryfall, Spotfur, Twigbranch, and Finleap. Stormcloud tells them that there was a lot of debate and fighting in the Clan after the two of them left with the kits and that it no longer felt like a home. There is possible news of a search patrols to drag them back or even more cats joining but they decide to keep to themselves for now, just to be safe.
The group end up settling somewhere past WindClan, closer to RiverClan on the other side of the thunderpath.
As they're settling down and building camp, Ivypool and Fernsong end up stumbling after them, Ivypool having a pretty nasty cut on her shoulder after apparently getting into a fight with some Bramblestar loyalists who were saying terrible things about the missing cats. The two bring their kits - Flippaw, Bristlepaw, and Thriftpaw, wanting to get them away from there and - hopefully - somewhere safe. Stemleaf is also with them, though he doesn't state why.
They continue to do their best to settle and adapt when Leafpool has a vision of fire, blazing around them, keeping dark shapes at bay.
Shocked and confused, she decides to talk to this about Sparkpelt, who states loudly that it's a sign her grandfather - Firestar - approves of what they're doing. Leafpool is comforted by the idea that her dad wouldn't be upset with her, but she can't shake the thought that there was more to the vision than that as she stares at her Firestar-look-alike niece.
.
After a moon, the group has settled. Sparkpelt has taken to leading this cats easily and she works hard for her kits and this ragtag group.
Stormcloud, Ivypool, and Lionblaze have taken over mentoring Flippaw, Bristlepaw, and Thriftpaw respectively and Daisy helps take care of Flamekit and Finchkit while Sparkpelt is busy.
Cherryfall also is spending time around Daisy, apparently expecting Stormcloud's kits.
Leafpool has already made herself a place to store herbs and the group has even started to grow them near the 'medicine cat den'.
Sparkpelt jokes that they're their own Clan now, but her mind wanders to if they should become a Clan. Specifically her minds wanders to Bramblestar and if she'd be a leader like him - heartless and controlling, willing to let an innocent cat die to prove a point.
Then she thinks of her mother and the dark feelings she had been avoiding resurface as she misses Squirrelflight, Larksong, and Flickerkit so much that it makes her chest sore.
She can't ponder long, however, as she realizes one of their 'hunting patrols' return with a couple new cats. Their names are Feather and Scowl and the two mention they were curious about what had been going on around these parts ever since they had met two curious cats named Tigerheart and Dovewing.
After some talking, the two decide to help these cats, though Scowl is a bit cautious. Feather, meanwhile, is quick to get along with these new cats, especially Leafpool.
Sparkpelt and Stormcloud work together to make the camp feel more like home. He jokingly calls her Sparkstar before wondering if StarClan would give her nine lives. She expresses doubt and he states that they'd be fools not to make someone like her leader.
Sparkpelt shakes her head, remembering how she acted as Twigbranch's mentor and the horrible things she said about other Clans.
Stormcloud counters and brings up how all the cats here respect her and that they'd follow her no matter what.
.
A few days pass and Sparkpelt finally approaches Leafpool, wanting to go to the Moonpool to talk to StarClan. They leave in the dead of night and carefully sneak past a rather irritated looking night patrol from ThunderClan.
When they arrive, they lap the water and quickly fall asleep.
Sparkpelt is greeted by many loving licks from her mother and she can't help but purr.
She carefully tries to bring up the chance of her becoming leader of a new Clan and Squirrelflight assures that StarClan - with some convincing - is willing to approve of Sparkpelt as a leader.
She's shocked by this and even more shocked as a nine lives ceremony is started.
Squirrelflight gives her the life of Compassion, telling Sparkpelt that she doesn't regret how she died, as she died so that others had a chance at living Larksong gives her the life of Confidence, adding that he believes in her and misses her every day Flickerkit is next and gives her the life of Forgiveness and asks her to please not be mad at herself and Spark can't help but cry over her son Pebbleshine comes next and her gaze is stern as she gives Sparkpelt the life of Acceptance - "not just for your cats, but for all cats." Spark winces and thinks of Twigbranch and how she had treated her again Next is Hollyleaf, who Sparkpelt had never met, but she had heard many stories about. Her adopted sister gives her the life of Endurance and tells her to never give up fighting After her is another she-cat she's never met This molly introduces herself as Goldenflower and informs her that Bramblestar's her son, making her Sparkpelt's grandmother She dotes on her granddaughter for a bit, wishing she had the chance to meet her in the living, but still happy to see her She gives her the life of Protection. Dandelionkit approaches her sister next, excited to finally meet her. She gives her the life of Enthusiasm and tells her to enjoy every day. Juniperkit is next and he gives his sister the life of Faith and tells her to never give up ever. Even when things look back. Finally Firestar approaches and purrs happily at the sight of his granddaughter. He states how much he's happy to meet her and that he's sorry they had to meet in such terms, but is still happy to give her a life. He gives her the life of Love. He reminds her that all Clanmates are worthy of love, even if their home is far from hers.
Sparkstar wakes up after her ceremony and Leafpool is still by her side.
The two return and Sparkstar decides to call their home FireClan, appointing Stormcloud as her deputy.

the fact that Tawnypelt named Tigerheart after her father really makes me tear up. especially now that he ended up becoming leader of the same clan and straight up just has the original Tigerstar’s name. but I also think that having a new, good Tigerstar leading Shadowclan may be some sort of closure for her now that she’s getting older. In the beginning, she followed her father to Shadowclan in hopes of living a life where she’d be accepted, but after his death she stayed committed and made a place for herself. now, Tawnypelt is a loyal, beloved Shadowclan cat through and through, and she came to view it as her home even after everything that happened. that’s what ‘Tawnypelt’s Clan’ meant. now she can see her son carry out her love for her clan (he even named his son shadowkit :3) and someday she’ll be able to rest in peace knowing Shadowclan is finally in good hands.
it always just made me so sad that Tawnypelt felt so alienated and villainized by her own clanmates as a kid, she actually felt like following her father, who accepted her, was the best chance of having a life where she’d feel secure and welcome. I’m not entirely sure if young Tawnypaw at the time understood exactly what kind of cat her father was, but we know that she does now and she recognizes him as irredeemable. but when i think about it, the way that a kid would piece things together actually makes her decisions make a lot of sense. Thunderclan treated Tawnypaw as dangerous and untrustworthy for literally just existing, yet they never explicitly told her why they hated Tigerstar, so it was probably easy for Tigerstar to convince her that Thunderclan was wrong about him too, that he was ‘just like her’. and then i have to remember that her father, who was the only cat she felt any sense of belonging with, was brutally murdered after she had already witnessed him commit war crimes and attempt to become a violent dictator. like, she was still a freaking kid!! how in the world is an isolated kid supposed to feel when they simultaneously hate their father for what they watched him do, but also mourn him and feel completely alone without him? even Shadowclan, which was actually starting to become a home for her, now made her feel like an outsider because Tigerstar wasn’t leader anymore, meaning she was just a Thunderclan apprentice who joined Shadowclan by herself.
so, it’s just such an emotional character piece that she would name her son after the first Tigerstar. obviously, Tawnypelt hates everything her father did and she’ll never forgive him for it, but his actions can’t change the fact that he was her parent, and he was the one who found her a place in Shadowclan. No matter how awful of a cat she thinks he was, he will always have a place in her heart and memories as the parent who guided her in the beginning of her life. and I think that’s exactly why she named her son Tigerkit. it’s not in honor of Tigerstar or a tribute of some sort, it’s the part of Tawnypelt from childhood that wants to prove there isn’t shame in sharing blood with a bad cat, or even carrying his name. but in a way, Tigerheart/star also reminds her of the perception she had of her father in early childhood. the welcoming cat who helped her when she was lost, and helped her find a true home. In that way, I think she’s also probably very happy about the way that Dovewing ended up finding a place with Tigerheart/star in Shadowclan. he really did become all of the parts of Tigerstar that she remembered fondly, without changing for the worst or breaking her trust.

Brambleclaw - This boy was fun to design! I wanted him to have VERY similar features to Tigerstar (as he is always compared to looking strinkingly similar to his father) but with some softer and more saturated colors (like his mother). His eyes are a bit more golden in honor of his mother. Honestly, I really WISH his Warrior name had been Brambleflower or something much more soft? Brambleberry, Brambleheart- something other than BrambleCLAW like TigerCLAW. Yes, way to remind the child of his FATHER. Anyways, I loved his character until Hawkfrost got involved- and then in my opinion, he just went downhill from there Squirrelflight - I LOVE HER! A good girl! Didn't deserve ANY of the shit she's been put through, at all. Small ears like her mother! A bit more of a yellow-ginger when in direct comparison to my Firestar design. I just love her. I love how she was such a good mother to the three. I haven't read any books since the end of Omen of the Stars so I don't really know how she is now, other than she was dragged into cat hell by the imposter. I wish she would have been made leader. OH! I also read Squirrelflight's Hope, and although I didn't know a lot of the characters, how DARE StarClan put her on trial? She was RIGHT that entire book and Bramblestar was just a jerk the entire time. She deserves so much better. Tawnypelt - Ear tufts just seem to run in this family and I love it! I headcannon her to be a BIG GORL. BIG LADY. I really tried to pull from Tigerstar and Goldenflower's designs, having her have patches of gold and brown, like a perfect blend of her parents. I just feel so heartbroken that she left ThunderClan to go to ShadowClan where she thought she'd be accepted more- and it looks like she is happy there  She found a seemingly wonderful mate and had beautiful kits. She is good. I want TAWNYSTAR! Crowfeather - Angry boy, I love him. I could go into a big discourse on his character but I just, he's well-written, I believe. He's flawed and I can get behind that- his choices were never the best and he was kind of a shit dad, but I liked that in writing? It was a breath of fresh air compared to how some characters are written and I can get behind that. I think he really redeemed himself quite a bit in Crowfeather's Trial and really like how he and Nightcloud ended it as friends.   Feathertail - Some aspects get gets from her father, but I would say a majority of looks come from her mother. I really love how gentle and patient she was with Crowpaw and how he fell in love with her. I am not sure if I headcannon that she loves him back romantically or more-so platonically, like a little sibling or something that she felt she must care for and protect, kind of how she felt towards Mothwing and Hawkfrost as kits. She was also incredibly brave when facing down the sharptooth and a true warrior to the end. Stormfur - Same head stripe as Graystripe, as well as mane! He almost looks a bit too blue in this picture, but I was aiming for one of those really dark stormclouds! Blue-ish like his mother, dark-ish like his father! I LOVE STORMFUR AND BROOK. Stormfur and Squirrelflight would have been ok, but BROOK. YES. I loved how he chose to stay with her in the mountains and is happy living there. I also kind of headcannon him to be bi- totally having a crush on Brambleclaw.

Possible start to a PO3 and OFTS I wanna write
“Who I am….who are my parents…” was the only thought on repeat in Hollyleaf's head.
Fire. That’s all there was. Thunderclan was gone, as cats desperately ran into the safety of the forest, to escape the flames. They swallowed the camp like a cat desperately drinking water on a hot greenleaf day. It lapped at the pelts of Hollyleaf and her brother who were frantically searching for a way out. The clan had fled before them, as Hollyleaf and Lionblaze helped Jayfeather save herbs from the medicine den. Hollyleaf was now regretting their decision as her eyes scanned the camp frantically for a way out. There was none. The tunnel leading out of camp was covered over by trees and embers. If they hid in the medicine den the smoke would kill them, while the apprentice's den entrance was blocked by fallen branches. Hollyeaf watched with horror as the roof of the warriors den burst into flames as embers drifted onto it. There would be no shelter there.
“We could try to shelter in Firestar’s den?” Lionblaze called over the roaring of the wind and flames.
“We can’t there’s too much smoke! We’re trapped!” Hollyleaf cried to her brother. Hollyleaf pressed up against Lionblaze while wrapping her tail around Jayfeather.
“What about the nursery? Can we get through the bracken?” Jayfeather asked. His face was stern, determined, but Hollyleaf could see the fear in his eyes. He was terrified as they were.
“Hollyleaf, Jayfeather, Lionblaze!” A familiar voice called. Hollyleaf squinted to see through the veil of smoke, as a shadow came running towards them.
“Squirrelflight!” Hollyleaf called, relief washing over her as their mother ran towards them. Squirrelflight slid to a stop in front of the three. Her eyes were wide with fear.
“Thank the Starclan your alright! Come on, there’s a way out of camp this way behind Firestar’s den!” She urged her kits, waving her tail for them to follow.
“A secret way out of camp? I can’t believe we never found it!” Lionblaze said as the three began to trail behind their mother up the rocky cliff side.
“Thank the Starclan, you three were enough trouble as kits!” Squrrielflight said weariness in her voice. “Be careful the ledge is narrow, Jayfeather hold onto your sister’s tail. I’ll move ahead of you three to make sure the path is clear. “
Jayfeather flicked his tail in annoyance.
“I can do it myself.” he hissed. Hollyleaf narrowed her eyes.
“Don’t be a mouse brain! Now’s not the time!” she growled back, lashing her tail in front of his face. She winced as she felt his teeth grip her tail. If she couldn’t tell how scared he was before she could now know from how tight he gripped her.
The three made their way up the cliff ledge. The tiny pebbles underneath their paws skittered and fell from the deep drop down into the camp. Hollyleaf’s chest felt tight as she could barely breath from smoke and fear.
“We’ll be alright… Starclan and the prophecy will protect us...we are the three with the power of the stars in our paws.” She thought to herself, feeling hope rising within her as they neared the top of the path.  Squrrielflight stood waiting for them.
“It’s very narrow at the end, let me help you!” she called rushing over. She gripped each one of her kits by their scruffs and pulled them onto a small smooth patch of cliff top. The clifftop was small and there was a gap between it and the rest of the forest. The gap led down into the camp below, the height between the cliff top and bottom of the camp was dizzying.
Just as squirrelflight pulled Jayfeather up to safety, a flaming tree from above the camp came kerreing and crashed down onto the ledge path behind the four cats. There was no way back now.
“Stay here, I’m going to jump to the other side and help you across!” Squrrielflight instructed and before any of the three could stop her she launched herself to the other side. Hollyleaf’s breath caught in her throat as she watched her mother barely make it to the other side. The front half of her body caught the cliff side and Hollyleaf heard her let out a gasp of air as her wounded stomach hit the rocks. Squrrielflight hauled herself up onto the safety of the grass.
“Now you jump, I'll pull you up by your scruff!” Just as those words left Squrrielflight’s jaws, Hollyleaf heard the sickening crack of wood.
“Watch out!” Lionblaze cried. Hollyeaf leapt to the side, nearly knocking Jayfeather off the edge as another burning tree came crashing down in front of them. It sent flames and embers spitting at the three cats. Hollyleaf felt the heat scratch her face, it burned so hot she was sure she would be blind when she opened her eyes.
“Help me!” Jayfeather’s voice cried, bringing her back to her senses. When Hollyleaf opened her eyes Jayfeather was inches from falling off the edge. She quickly grabbed his scruff and pulled him back up. Lionblaze was on the other side of the clifftop safe but also inches from the edge.
“Are you alright?” He called them in fear. He turned his head towards where the tree had fallen and his eyes widened with fear. The tree had fallen into the gap, but had gotten trapped on another small ledge below, sending flames up, cutting them off from the safety of the other side.
“Oh Starclan no!” Hollyleaf whispered, her voice catching in her throat.
“Lionblaze, Jayfeather, Hollyleaf!” Squrrielflight cried, her voice shaking.
“We’re alright! We can’t get across!” Hollyleaf called back, managing to get a glimpse of her mother on the other side.
“I’ll get a branch to get you across!” she called back.
“Right, we'll be ready!” Lionblaze yelled. Hollyleaf felt her stomach twist.
“She can’t! What about her wound! She’s too weak, she won’t be able to carry a branch!” she cried to her brother, as the realization of their situation was quickly suffocating her.
“Squrrielflight will do what she has to.” Lionblaze answered hers, his eyes fixed on the horizon searching for their mother.
All too quickly Hollyleaf’s fears were realized as she watched her mother return, struggling to drag a branch. Her limbs quivered with weariness, the branch slipping from squrrielflight’s jaws as she lost her grip and it fell onto the grass.
“Starclan help us!” Hollyleaf prayed peering out into the smoke that covered the forest, hoping the souls of starclan would come from them. Her eyes widened, as she believed her prayers had been answered. A gray silhouette came running out from the smoke.
“Ashfur!” Squrrielflight called as the gray tom’s full form came into view. Ashfur slowed to a stop as he looked at squirrelflight and then at the three on the clifftop. Hollyleaf felt her blood run cold as she looked at the tom. His dark blue eyes were narrowed, his face colder than a stone in the shade. There was more to it, but Hollyleaf couldn’t read the other emotions lingering on his face.
Squrrielflight staggered up to him, her eyes  wide and wild with fear and desperation.
“Ashfur! I need your help! I can’t place the branch across the gap!” she cried, her sides heaving with tiredness from having dragged the branch.
Ashfur pinned his ears back, a side of his lip curling up into a snarl.
“Why should I?” he hissed. Hollyleaf blinked in shock, her fur along her spine bristling. Squirrelflight's fur began to bristle as well as her rage filled glare bore holes into the warrior.
“Why should you?!” She screeched. “Because they’re going to die, if we don’t!” Squrrielflight looked ready to leap and tear Ashfur’s pelt off, but Ashfur only stared at her as if he was confused.
“So now you want my help? Funny, I’ve spent my entire life trying to help you only to be met with anger and fighting.” he said sitting down cooly, as if there wasn’t a fire raging around them. Squirrelflight's face twisted as her eyes widened in confusion.
“Ashfur what are you talking about!?” she yowled, her teeth bared.
“I did my best to protect you from Brambleclaw when he treated you less than a piece of crowfood…” Ashfur began only to be cut off as Squirrelflight reared up on her hind legs looking as if she was going to strike him. She landed in front of Ashfur, her face inches from his.
“That's what this is about!? Your quarrel with Brambleclaw needs to stop! Too many moons have passed, you need to accept that I’m his mate, not yours!” She growled. Ashfur blinked, not breaking his composure, yet it was clear emotion was welling inside him. His pelt quivered, his tail twitched thumping against the burned grass, and he flexed his claws digging into the dirt.
“And you need to accept what kind of cat he is. Tell me Squrrielflight are you even happy? He’s treated you less than a piece of prey since you were an apprentice, he insults you, fights with you, and refuses to even apologize! I see it, the whole clan sees it!” Ashfur hissed as the two cats began to circle each other. “I remember when you told me you couldn’t trust him yet you ended up loving him! He’s just like his father!”
“He is not!” Squirrelflight yowled lunging at the warrior trying to strike only to miss. “Don’t you dare say that! I am happy! I love Brambleclaw with every breath! You were my friend Ashfur! Please I never meant to hurt you. I didn’t know you were still upset!” Squrrielflight growled, her voice beginning to soften slightly.
“He is, you just refuse to see it. I tried to make you see what kind of cat he was once. Who do you think led Firestar to fox trap that day by the lake? Hawkfrost wanted me to lead him there with the promise that it would hurt you. But I spied on him after we talked and I overheard him talking with another cat. He wanted to get rid of Firestar so that Brambleclaw could be leader. They wanted to take over the clans like their father had done!” Ashfur yowled.
Hollyleaf felt faint, her legs shook feeling as if they would give way underneath her any moment.
“Brambleclaw wanted to take over the clans?” She whispered looking at her brothers who looked just as stunned.
“You’re wrong! My father is an honorable warrior! He would never kill his leader!” Lionblaze roared, looking ready to leap across the flames and attack the gray tom on the other side. Ashfur turned his head and looked at the three pityingly.
“He’s not. Not too many seasons ago he was following in his father’s paw prints. And I wanted to show you Squrrielflight and the whole clan who exactly he was. That’s why I led Firestar down to the foxtrap that day and ran back to camp to warn you. Brambleclaw may have saved Firestar then, but that doesn’t mean that he won’t turn again. My quarrel isn’t just with him, my quarrel is also with you Squirrelflight...it always has been..”
The blood in Hollyleaf’s ears roared. she looked on at the two cats, the flames enclosing in on them and the branch only feet from them. They were going to die, even if the fight between Squirrelflight and Ashfur had nothing to do with them.  Ashfur took a step towards Squrrieflight who swiped at him warningly.
“I loved you. I would have done anything to make you happy...Starclan knows I tried. I did my best to be there for you when Brambleclaw treated you like rotten prey...I supported you, protected you from him...I did everything in my power to help you...yet...you chose a tom who treats you no better than a newborn kitten...his blood cursed by his traitorous father.” Ashfur hissed his face twisting, his lips curled into a pain filled snarl while his eyes widened with agony.
Squrrielflight looked at a loss for words at Ashfur’s revelation. Her jaw flexed, yet no words came out as she stared into the tom’s dark blue eyes.
“Ashfur….all of this was moons ago….I had no idea you were still upset.” was all that managed to come out. Ashfur blinked at her, in confusion.
“Upset? I’m not upset you have no idea how much pain I’m in! It’s like being cut open everyday and bleeding onto the stones! I don’t understand how you failed to see the blood!” Ashfur yowled, throwing his head back as his voice took on a wild distant tone. Ashfur lowered his head as the four cats stared at him with a mix of terror, confusion, and rage. Ashfur’s pelt stopped quivering as he slowly regained his composure. His eye glanced over to the three still trapped on the cliff top.
“So tell me why I should help you...maybe if you finally lose somebody you love you’ll finally feel the same pain you caused me…” Ashfur said as he turned and began to walk away. Squrrielflight bristled, she looked back at Hollyleaf and her siblings, at the branch and finally Ashfur.
“If you really want to hurt me, You’re going to have to find a better way than that….they’re not my kits.” she called after Ashfur, who stopped dead in his tracks.
The world stopped for Hollyleaf. There was no longer fire around her or danger, or her brothers, or Ashfur, or the life saving branch. The only thing that existed was Squrrielflight and her words.
They’re not my kits.
“You’re bluffing.” Ashfur said, glancing over his shoulder, rolling his eyes.
“Am I? Did you see me give birth to them? Nurse them? Stay in the nursery till they were apprenticed? No, I fooled you and the clan!” Squrrielflight growled her voice, shaking yet defiant. Ashfur finally turned around.
“And nobody knows, not even Brambleclaw?”
Squrrielflight shook her head.
“Not even Brambleclaw. Nobody knows.” Ashfur looked back at Hollyleaf and her brothers who were still cowering as the flames were now close to consuming them. Without warning he grasped the life saving branch and thrusted it through the fire and to the other side. The flames pushed down and away by its leaves, leaving a space for an escape.
“I will let them live...whoever they belong to. But if you think that I will keep your secret you’re wrong!” Hollyleaf’s eyes widened.
“You’ll tell?” Squrrielflight cried, her voice small and terrified.
“Perhapes... What will your kin think when they find out you’ve lied to them and Thunderclan? What will Brambleclaw think? You’ve lied a lot in your life Squirrelflight...maybe it’s time for you to finally tell the truth.” Ashfur said, venom dripping from his words. With his final words Ashfur turned on his heels racing off into the woods, disappearing once again into the smoke and darkness.
As soon as he was out of sight Hollyleaf wasted no time getting across the branch and neither did her brothers. Squrrielflight raced over to them, fiercely licking each one of them on the head and checking them over. Hollyleaf pushed her off.
“You’re alright, thank the starclan…” she said breathlessly.
“You lied right? We are your kits aren’t we?” Hollyleaf questioned, her voice small and quivering. She was terrified of the answer.  Squirrelflight closed her eyes and drew in a deep heavy breath.
“No I didn’t...I should have told you a long time ago, but we thought it was for the best.”
“Who’s we? You know who our parents are!?” Jayfeather growled bristling, his fur blackened and signed from the flames.
“Yes I do…”
“But you won’t tell us…” Lionblaze growled, baring his teeth, his own anger joining with his siblings.
“Please know that I couldn’t have loved you any more than if I had given birth to you myself. Both Brambleclaw and I love you so much!” Squrrielflight pleaded, sadness washing over her face.

I would do it before Swiftpaw dies, having Goldenflower and her younger kits leave. Maybe have her try to convince Swiftpaw to come too, but he Stays, maybe denouncing her as a Traitor, too? Idk. Something about Swift pulling a move like Longtail does to Tigerstar seems sweet. Maybe have him tell her he'll prove to Thunderclan that he's different, he better than her and his dad. (If you go by Tigerstar is his dad theory) I think Fireheart could bully the surviving elders into helping him give Swift a warriors funeral. Maybe have Fire beg Starclan to accept Swift as a full warrior, just flat out pleading and when he gains his lives Swiftlight gives him a life. Also, it could give you a scene during the escape of Misty, Feather, and Storm where Goldenflower asks Firestar about Swift, and Fire let's his warrior name slip.
Or...Swift could survive the dog attack, (and this is going on the theory that Swiftpaw is Tigerkin) and the other clans think he's dead, but Cloud has pushed both bright and Swift on and all three cats sort of become under Longtail's mentorship. But during this time, Goldenflower has found out there's rabid dogs that her mate sent into her clans home, that she still has kin in, her brother's kits, are in danger, and she knows Fire is doing his best, but I can see Goldenflower sneaking out and go spy on thunderclan, and the night she gets there, is the one where they bring Swift and bright back from the attack. They're still alive, and Cinder saves them both. But Goldenflower leaves before she hears that they're going to live, so she walks back to Riverclan, utterly heartbroken. How can she tell her kits their big brother is dead? Dead because of his father...
And then that disastrous gathering happens, and Firestar announcement happens but..he also adds "Thunderclan has 2 new warriors tonight. Brightheart, and Swifthawk! And Goldenflower gets to see her boy, her oldest son, and she sees the damage Tigerstar has done to him, and it makes her angry.
This ask was... a lot and I've laready shared pretty much all of my Swiftpaw-related thoughts on the last ask. BUT I have to say I love the thought in this one that he could survive and be hailed as a warrior at a gathering and it would fuel Goldenflower's seething rage towards Tigerstar. That's one AU change I'll keep in consideration.

prologue-
How did they do it?
Antstep mulled the question over as his eyes remained glued to the massive boulder that sat squarely between the four oaks. Four figures sat positioned at the top, their ears pricked as they listened to the groups of chattering cats around them. The smallest of them was exchanging pleasantries with a large blue-gray tom. The largest, a ragged yellow molly, looked away to the north. The sleek gray tom next to her twitched his tail with impatience.
“Those ShadowClan buggers are always late,” he grumbled, but just as he finished his sentence the big yellow molly besides him shoved his shoulder. A group of small, skinny cats entered the clearing, led by a rather handsome red tabby.
“Greetings,” announced the red tom. He effortlessly leapt onto the rock as the conversations died down. “Pardon us for being late. Our youngest queen was giving birth, and it was not an easy one.”
“It’s always something, isn’t it,” started the sleek gray tom, but before he could finish the thought the yellow molly draped her tail over his muzzle.
“Shall we begin?”
The others nodded, and so the smallest of the group, Tulipstar, cleared her throat to speak.
Antstep had always admired Tulipstar. She was impeccably small, about the size of an apprentice, despite RiverClan cats like her usually being large and girthy. Some say it was due to a birth defect- but others in the elders’ den opined that StarClan had made her so small because otherwise she would simply be too much of a force to be reckoned with.
“RiverClan has not been doing well as we would have wished it to,” she admitted. “Rogue groups have been on our borders. We have allotted them territory for the time being to shut them up- but come these next few moons, when our apprentices are ready for battle, we shall take our land back.” She dipped her head and awaited the next cat to come forward and speak.
“SkyClan, however, has been doing wonderfully,” started the sleek gray tom.
“It’s always wonderfully, ain’t it, Pigeonstar!” heckled some cat near the southern edge of the clearing behind Antstep.
Pigeonstar’s face furrowed, and then he continued. “Our most recent batch of apprentices became skilled warriors, and I am pleased to introduce them to you by their proper warrior names at this Gathering. Everyone welcome Birchtail, Nettlebark, and Stoneclaw!”
Pigeonstar doesn’t usually mention new warriors so fast, thought Antstep, and then he looked over in the direction Pigeonstar was gesturing to to see three gray tabbies identical to the SkyClan leader. Oh- Of course he’s introducing them so fast. They’re his kits.
“The greenleaf drought has been merciful to SkyClan this year, and we thank it for that. Besides the apprentice graduations, little else of note has happened in SkyClan since we last met.” He sat back down. The red tabby stepped up to speak.
“While we in ShadowClan are not doing as well as we had hoped we would, we are doing quite well. You may have heard about the fire that recently destroyed part of our territory. While we are lucky that most of us have emerged safe, three of our warriors- Turtlewing, Darkwhisker, and Stormfoot- unfortunately lost their lives to the blaze.”
A ripple of condolences echoed throughout the clearing. Currantstar eased his body slightly, leaving the clearing a moment to understand. Antstep noted burn scars at Currantstar’s feet- clearly, despite Currantstar’s young age, this was a cat who took up the mantle of leadership fully knowing what it would entail. He seemed… almost perfect. The fact he was quite a handsome thing- especially for a ShadowClanner- didn’t help.
“However, tonight we celebrate new life within ShadowClan. Just before we left, Nightwater gave birth to four healthy kits, all her spitting image: Ravenkit, Blackkit, Sharpkit, and Juniperkit!”
Another ripple, this time of celebration, echoed throughout the clearing. Pigeonstar seemed slightly disgruntled that his children’s warrior names had not received as much applause.
As soon as he had begun, Currantstar stepped back. A gaunt, blue-gray tom stepped up. His face was long and bony, and his pelt was crisscrossed with scars. His eyes were weary, and the bumps of his spine were visible from age.
Antstep felt his chest swell as he watched the tom open his mouth to speak. After all, this cat had been his leader, his mentor, the closest thing to a father Antstep had known.
Shalestar, the almighty leader of WindClan.
“WindClan has been faring well this past Greenleaf. Like our SkyClan friends, we are lucky to be treated kindly by the drought.”
Antstep looked around. Rainleap, the WindClan deputy, stood just below the great rock, a proud grin on his face as he studied every syllable that left Shalestar’s lips. It was generally accepted within WindClan that, as Shalestar was upon his final life, Rainleap would soon ascend as Rainstar- and everyone deeply anticipated the spotted tabby’s leadership. He was charismatic, he was courteous. He knew everyone and everything in WindClan like the back of his paw to the point that, if you brought him a leaf from any weeping willow within the territory, he could tell you not just what tree it was from but the exact bow and branch it had resided upon. Rainleap was to become a wonderful WindClan leader- even Pigeonstar, the grumpy sod, seemed to appreciate him.
“However, the last moon has not passed by without its troubles. An illness swept through our camp. Nearly all of us survived- unfortunately, our dear Palefeather passed from the illness.”
There was audible sadness from some cats near the northern end of the clearing.
“You may recall her as our former medicine cat, who served us many moons before she retired to the elder’s den last leaf-fall. She was a wonderful companion to me in the darkest hours of my leadership. She was an extraordinary teacher, she was an adamant follower to the stars above, a devotee to her kin, and a gifted healer for all of us in WindClan. We miss her terribly.”
The medicine cats, who were in their own little corner off to the side of the Great Rock, seemed heartbroken by the news. Whitetooth, the WindClan medicine cat and Palefeather’s apprentice, looked more alone than ever, despite the sympathies uttered to them.
“However, with the end of a time, another always begins. I am proud to introduce  our two newest apprentices- warrior apprentice Twigpaw and medicine cat apprentice Marblepaw!”
Twigpaw, who was directly behind Antstep with his mentor Molethroat, was lapping up the attention. Marblepaw, however, seemed alarmed. She leaned into Whitetooth’s side, and her mentor draped their tail around her.
“We also have a litter of kits to announce,” continued Shalestar. Molethroat couldn’t hold in his excitement. “Those are my kits!” he exclaimed to the mingling cats from other Clans. “They look just like my mate! I love them so much!”
Shalestar, however, was calm, even though there was a sliver of optimism in his voice. “We are proud to announce Cherrynose’s kits- Olivekit, Rosekit, Amberkit, Brindlekit, and Patchkit.”
“Oh, all of them are so wonderful,” continued Molethroat, his whiskers twitching with sheer joy. “Rosekit and Amberkit are so smart! They amaze me every day. And Brindlekit is so bold, and Olivekit is so thoughtful, and Patchkit is so kind… They sneak out of the nursery to wake me up from the warriors’ den nearly every morning. And my mate is so patient with them, I’m the luckiest cat in the world to have her. I tell you, I could go to StarClan tomorrow and I still would think I had the greatest life…”
Antstep looked around. WindClan was as peaceful as he had ever known it to be. Goldenpaw and Milkpaw, two WindClan apprentices, signed to each other, poking fun at the other leaders. Russetfoot, Rockscratch, and Emberheart, three WindClan warriors, were chatting to a trio of RiverClan cats. Even Sandwhisker- the sister of Palefeather, and the oldest WindClan warrior- looked content, despite the loss she had suffered the prior moon.
Antstep never knew if he would fully fit in WindClan. But this is a WindClan he was, for the most part, content living alongside.
A cold chill snapped Antstep out of his thoughts, and he looked up to see the largest cat take the stand as Shalestar stepped back.
Tatteredstar had been ThunderClan leader for a very, very long time. She had been one of the most formidable fighters ThunderClan ever knew- and the scars crisscrossing her pelt gave plenty to show for it. She could kill a rat just by looking at it from the right angle, they said. No leader dared to mess with her.
“ThunderClan has been doing pleasantly enough. Juncopaw, who you may recall from his introduction last Gathering, has elected to train as a medicine cat, and so he will be trained by Emberblaze. I expect her to pass down all she knows to him. We have many mollies due for kits within the next moon. We are all very excited about it- but it will undoubtedly mean ThunderClan has more mouths to feed.”
Without warning, she turned to Tulipstar. She was nearly thrice as large as the RiverClan leader, and she easily had dozens more scars. “I am making a request that RiverClan gives up Sunningrocks to us immediately. I understand this is sudden news- but RiverClan, if they know what is best for themselves, will back off of the territory.”
Many incensed RiverClan cats jumped up to speak- but most of them found their words lost when Tatteredstar shot them a pointed glare.
Tulipstar, however, stepped towards Tatteredstar, nothing breaking her green gaze as she stared upwards to the massive yellow molly. “RiverClan has fought for seasons to keep Sunningrocks. We, too, need the territory, for our own mouths to feed. I thought we had reached an agreement last leaf-fall that RiverClan could hold the territory until the leaf-fall after. We still have a season left on that agreement.”
“Old agreements mean nothing now.”
“If ThunderClan wants more mouths to feed, expand the territory elsewhere, Tatteredstar. We both know your warriors are capable. They will not be intruding on RiverClan’s hard-earned territory.”
The two mollies slowly inched towards each other, their noses wrinkled and their lips slightly curled. The tension between them was palpable, and no other leader dared to speak. This was Tulipstar and Tatteredstar’s score to settle and theirs alone. Their respective deputies, Trufflepelt and Eelwhisker, tried to shuffle towards them- not only to back them up but to pull them away from each other if claws were unleashed.
The clearing went dead silent.
Even though WindClan was in no way involved, Antstep felt fear coursing through his veins as he watched the two leaders stare at each other inches apart.
Then, Tatteredstar sheathed her claws into the matted fur that bunched at her feet. “You’ve got a nerve in you, runt,” she said, with hints of respect and perhaps even something resembling affection. “RiverClan can have Sunningrocks for now.”
The two backed away from each other, Trufflepelt and Eelwhisker eased, and the tension slipped away as the murmur of Clan cats returned.
“I suppose the Gathering is over, now,” Shalestar said. “Let us return to our camps in peace.”
As Rainleap began to organize WindClan, Antstep still felt adrenaline rush through him from the confrontation between Tulipstar and Tatteredstar- as well as a bit of awe. The way all the leaders composed themselves so well. The way Tulipstar didn’t back down, the way Tatteredstar knew when to call it quits. The charisma of Currantstar, the pride of Pigeonstar, the wisdom of Shalestar…
How did they do it? How did they all do it?
Antstep felt a kitlike wonder- and a kitlike envy. He turned to see Rainleap nod towards the journey home, the light of the moon shining in the WindClan deputy’s lime-green eyes. As Molethroat and Rockscratch chattered behind him, Antstep let himself get lost in his thoughts. Rainleap will make a wonderful leader- I wonder how his first gathering will go…  I wonder how I’d do. I mean, of course Rainleap will be the next leader. Everyone knows that. But it must feel nice to be up on that rock, to be there with the greats… To be loved by your Clan. I wouldn’t want the stress, of course, but… I would want that.
Wouldn’t anyone?
Little did Antstep know, his life was on the cusp of changing forever.

(More information on the Dark AU (you don't have to post if you don't want too))
Blackfoot follows Brokenstar and Tigerstar because--not because he's an evil cat, but because he feels like he needs to help keep their 'evil,' or 'Mess,' contained....He feels..responsible, in a way, for them and their choices. In this AU, Brokenstar wanted to start training kits as soon as they opened their eyes. Blackfoot talked him into waiting until three moons, although he has always wish he could have talked him into waiting a few moons later. He and Misty met as apprentices at a gathering, and continued to sneak off to meet each other (sort of like Oakheart and Bluestar) he told Misty of course, of what Brokenstar did to Raggedstar and what he was doing to Shadowclan, but He wouldn't leave when Misty asked him too. He told her he needed to try and contain Brokenstar. That's all he's ever tried to do. Is *contain* Brokenstar, and Tigerstar. In This AU, the rescue is a mix of Leopard AU and Cannon (where Fire, Grey, Misty, Storm, Feather, Tiger, Dark ect) see Blackfoot kill Stone. Except he doesn't. 8n this AU Blackfoot is...gifted you could say...with making it look like he's killed someone, even in front of other cats. Even in front of Tigerstar. Blackfoot says he'll dispose of Stone's body (whose actually just knocked out, the blood is a mix of Blackfoot's and prey blood) and everyone breaks up. This is when Misty (after Tiger is gone.(Leopard led him away for a bit, maybe)) Says she'll never forgive Blackfoot. That she hates that she still loves him. That he's not the original cat she gave her heart too, and she never wants to see him again. Blackfoot (heartbroken, but stotic) carries Stonefur's knocked out body over to Thunderclan's forest and leaves it in the sandy hollow, where he knows it will be found soon as Thunderclan uses that area frequently to train apprentices. But because Blackfoot took too long getting rid of Stonefur's body, and didn't bring anything back for the kill pile, Tigerstar orders Darkstripe to kill Pikepaw and Perchpaw to cut down on mouths to feed, even though Blackfoot starts to object, but Russet stops him. He cannot help his mate nor surviving children if he gives himself away, she reminds him. (Thus the whole drug Prim, Reed, and Boulder, Russet help him sneak them out, they Find Bramble ect. Leopard takes the fall for it all as she helped Misty and Feather escape)
Things I thought about this morning:
Tigerstar *would* definitely use Blackfoot's kindness and objections as a way to destroy more of Mudfur's and Leopard's relationship. Blackfoot would not know this, all he sees is yet another father *letting* a leader destroy their kit.
Blackfoot would *definitely* sneak any herbs he could remember to Leopard. Most would be useless, like thyme, but he would bring her many poppy seeds.
(They reconcile during the journey. They still very much love each other before, but...complicated.)
(Way after, once they're at the lakes)
Misty would fucking hate Onestar after she (and riverclan) found out his lie and his want for more land. During the eclipse battle she had gone up against Blackstar, and Breezepaw (whom she never forgives) takes one of Blackstar's lives once Misty has him pinned down.
part 3. god. every installment and i -- god. okay. i'm going to. yeah. cut.
cw: sexual assault, parent involved in sexual assault of child

oh my god i love this? (i only copied in the first part btw) okay okay okay first.
y'all can decide what this says about me, but my first thought when i saw, "brokenstar wanted to apprentice kits as soon as they opened their eyes" was "brokenstar no toddlers make terrible child soldiers."
moving on...god there's so much to play into. guilt? was containing enough? how many cats would have to get hurt? should he have acted?
perchpaw and pikepaw are dead because he didn't act. well, he wanted to, but -- god. you know. i mean i'm referencing how i think he'd guilt himself. anyway.
tigerstar would 100% use blackfoot's kindness to his advantage. i bet like -- he might even know that blackfoot is bringing her herbs, but pretend not to, around blackfoot. and around leopardstar -- it's an act of pity. i think pity is the worst thing. leopardstar is so proud.
also the imagery of like. blackfoot just. grabbing a mouthful of herbs. "hope this helps leopardstar gotta go pretend to b evil bye."
sorry. it just made me laugh.
but no -- even though it would definitely help destroy her relationship with mudfur (he's the medicine cat, after all), it would be -- a small kindness that meant a lot to her.
and yes! okay i'm glad misty and black reconcile. even if it takes time. which i mean -- understandable lmao.
also damn okay that's so not the most important part but breezepaw? fucking killed a leader? oh my god? i mean it's just one life but holy shit? shadowclan is going to mock blackstar for that, right, like
"hey boss. don't worry, no apprentices sneaking in."
i'm sorry that's -- russetfur is never letting him live it down i refuse to accept that.

OK, I’ve bottled this one up enough and I really wanna share one specific aspect of it because I love what I came up with and for that I need to explain the whole set up of this AU, so here goes: SkyClan Gray Wing/DotC but the love interests get to live AU.
So the reason goes by two names is that SkyClan Gray Wing is the base concept that I wanted to get to with this AU, but the main point of divergence from a timeline point of view is the survival of the love interests that died for the sake of character development (Bright Stream and Turtle Tail, Storm would’ve made the cut but she’s getting deleted off existence for simplicity’s sake)
So, since Bright Stream survives the eagle thing, Gray Wing and Clear Sky don’t get to grow apart during the journey down the mountain on account that they are not both carrying the guilt for her death
Since they don’t grow apart, the two can share the burden of growing into the role of Jagged Peak’s replacement parental figures more evenly. If/when I get around to writing something for this, the initial piece is certainly going to be centered on Jagged Peak and his older brothers being thrust into this position of responsibility.
With a closer connection between the three of them, Gray Wing is much more hesitant abandoning any of them and reluctantly votes to leave the moor for the forest. There he basically becomes Clear Sky’s second in command and while not able to entirely steer him off the path he took in canon he can at least be a good influence and make him not as much of an asshole as he could’ve been
Jagged Peak is still injured and becomes disabled. While neither of the brothers are exactly the best at dealing with the situation, they certainly do better together than Clear Sky alone did in canon. Someone in Clear Sky’s group takes on the role Rainswept Flower and later Holly would take in being Jagged Peak’s advocate and moral support. No idea who just yet
Oh, yeah, Bright Stream’s kits! In this continuity, Bright Stream gives birth to Thunder (Thunder Storm from here on out to better fit the naming pattern). His little siblings sadly don’t survive kithood and Clear Sky kind of just clings to him as his first born and only surviving son.
Thunder Storm is still bothered by his dad’s weird favoritism and as a result he grows closer to his uncle Gray Wing. Gray Wing may not be his dad in this continuity but he’s still an important parental figure in his life, serving as his advocate in front of Clear Sky and giving him his full support once he leaves to found ThunderClan (he stays in SkyClan though, someone has to keep Clear Sky under control)
Turtle Tail ends up in the forest upon returning from her brief stint as a kittypet. Gray Wing still becomes mates with her and adopts her kids, but she gets to live after the Tom incident and Tom is never accepted into SkyClan on account of the fact that his abuse victim is living there.
Slate still exists but now she is also a queen that Gray Wing takes as a mate and whose kids he adopts. Gray Wing’s StarClan polycule gets together in life, heck yeah!
Talking about the polycule, just because I can: River Ripple is gay and dating Gray Wing, Bumble is a lesbian and dating Turtle Tail, Slate is questioning and dates Bumble for a while. I don’t know how that last one turns out in the end.

Major Arc 2 Changes/General Summary
Second verse, same as the first (not)!
Leopardstar gives birth to Tigerstar’s kits (the two were in a political marriage while TigerClan was a thing). Only two survive, Muddykit and Darkkit, and she isn't a good mother to them and avoids them as they both resemble Tigerstar very closely. Ironically, this makes it easier for Tigerstar to recruit them to the Dark Forest’s cause, as they are starved for parental love, which Tigerstar provides them (as a manipulation tactic)
Brambleflower (Brambleclaw) and Hawkfrost are recruited by Tigerstar as they are in canon. Brambleflower wants nothing to do with him but is too afraid of Tigerstar to say no, while Hawkfrost is swayed by the promise that Tigerstar will help him, his mother, and his sister be respected and accepted in RiverClan (also yeah, Sasha stays in RiverClan with Hawk and Moth instead of ditching them). Tawnypelt is approached by Tigerstar in her dreams as well but rejects him immediately. Since she spent the most time with him while he was alive out of all her siblings she knows exactly what he wants and that she wants no part in any of it. And although he tries, Tigerstar is unable to speak to Mothwing at all since she’s an atheist. So that leaves him with Muddypaw, Darkpaw, Hawkfrost, and Brambleflower as his proxies
Brambleflower is Squirrelpaw’s mentor, which gives her more motivation to follow him when he and the other Journey Cats leave
Yellowfang mentors Leafpaw as a Healer, with Leafpaw also being able to communicate with StarClan if need be. Later on, Shrewpaw begins to see bizarre visions and joins on as a Seer apprentice. He still gets hit by a car after being lured out of the Medicine Den by a strange hairless cat spirit (I wonder who this could be?) but he survives because it just barely clips his leg. Yellowfang retires immediately after Leafpool and Shrewsight earn their Medicine Cat names
Crowpaw still has a crush on Feathertail, but she doesn't reciprocate his feelings in any way because he is a CHILD and she is an ADULT. Crowpaw also gets a crush on Squirrelpaw over the course of the Journey
The Tribe of Rushing Water has been reworked to be less of a collection of racist Native American stereotypes. Their new name is the Lunar Feles. Any major changes related to them can be found in their intro post
Feathertail almost dies killing Sharp Tooth. Although she lives, her wounds are too severe for her to travel. She and Stormfur remain behind in the mountains while the others return to the Clans
Brackenfur is made ThunderClan’s new Deputy on the Journey after Frostfur choses to stay behind
On the Journey, Onewhisker brings a kit that he says is his daughter to Whitetail to raise. He doesn't mention who her mother is or if she had siblings either
Mudclaw’s rebellion happens, with the addition of him being a Dark Forest trainee, so Tigerstar makes his kits participate and help as well. It ends disastrously for Mudclaw’s side, with Onewhisker killing him and sending him to the Dark Forest. This defeat emboldens Hawkfrost, who has grown tired of acting as his father’s errand boy and realized that he was never going to help him, and he cuts all ties with Tigerstar and the Dark Forest and just leaves, much to Tigerstar's rage. Darkpaw also leaves at this point, but Tigerstar doesn't fight his decision because he thinks Darkpaw is too weak to be of any real use to him anyway. Of the remaining two, Brambleflower is still too afraid to leave for fear of retribution by Tigerstar, and Muddypaw is too corrupted by Tigerstar’s views to see reason anymore
Since the Lunar Feles are capable of solving their own problems (and have been long before the Clan cats came along), the rogues in the Mountains are driven away and Small Brook, Stormfur, and Feathertail remain in the Mountains instead of returning to the clans
Daisy joins ThunderClan with her three kits and Cloudtail helps her out and teaches her the ins and outs of Clan life. When Brightheart admits that she’s jealous of all the time he’s spending with Daisy, he apologizes and from then on he makes sure to find plenty of time for her and their family in his schedule as well
Meanwhile, acting on her father’s orders, Muddyhollow attacks Darkheart in an attempt to kill him when the two are left alone for their First Vigil after they become Warriors. Darkheart manages to escape and flees to WindClan to hide. Hawkfrost and Brambleflower secretly conspire to thwart Tigerstar’s upcoming assassination attempt on Firestar. Firestar loses a life, but Brambleflower saves his Leader from the trap and Hawkfrost kills Muddyhollow while she is distracted yelling at Brambleflower and trying to kill him for betraying Tigerstar. The river runs red with her blood. Darkheart chooses to remain in WindClan even now that Muddyhollow is dead, as he likes it better there. Now notorious cat racist Tigerstar has kin in every Clan (except SkyClan... for now...)
Leafpool and Crowfeather have a short fling together. After they cut it off, Leafpool discovers she’s pregnant. Uh oh...
