One of the many tragedies of Jack Drake is that not only was he bad at being a parent, but that he had the perfect person to discuss how hard the experience was for him right there and yet the only conversation they ever have about parenting Tim is conducted at gunpoint.

Because look at Jack Drake. As far as he was concerned, he had everything under control until Janet died and his world fell apart.

Tim was a Good Kid™ as a kid. He was well behaved and polite and not a difficult child and that's obvious from the fact that many of his memories of his parents together are of being taken out in public. Jack and Janet had one kid and they clearly wanted that kid to enjoy the same things they did, so they took him with them to restaurants and museums and art galleries and the opera. And he enjoyed it and enjoyed that time with them.

Jack however clearly saw his role as a father and a husband in the very traditional position as the main provider. It was his job to work and bring in the income that supported their lifestyle (his depressive episode after losing the company and their having to move makes it very clear how much of his self-worth was tied up in that role). He had a son, but his time with Tim was pretty clearly about taking Tim out with him on a Saturday afternoon to watch sport, or play tennis with his friends, or go to the monster trucks, or go fishing: being able to spend a few hours with Tim and show him off to his friends and then return home and someone else took over looking after Tim. And in his mind, he clearly thought he was a good parent! He spent time with his son! His son was a credit who was worth showing off! He could take Tim with him when he and Janet went out for the evening, and Tim could be relied upon to behave. He was winning at being a father!

The part Jack never realised, of course, was that like many men in his position, he'd handed the day to day logistics of raising a kid over to his wife (Janet) and to people he paid to do it for him (Tim's boarding school). He wasn't the disciplinarian parent. He was the 'fun' parent, who got to have the good times with his child.

If Jack was ever actually involved in decisions about discipline and consequences of actions, it was probably at the ultimate stage: the 'wait til your father gets home' sort of threat. The nuclear option. He didn't handle the everyday stuff - he probably never SAW the everyday stuff.

So, Jack thinks he's a great parent. He can brag to his friends about how well behaved HIS child is, unlike those little ruffians you see screaming in public or whose parents can't take them anywhere because they're disruptive.

Then his world falls apart. He's injured and disabled and grieving. He's a single dad. And the kid he's got is suddenly not the child he remembers. Tim frequently acts out, lies, runs away and comes home with bruises and notes from school saying they’re worried something is going on. He also starts dating and possibly trying to have sex ‘too young’ (being caught with Ariana sleeping over and the couch situation, Steph being pregnant even if Tim insisted it wasn't his).

Jack Drake has to suddenly step up to be the main parent of a 14 year old who he's probably never had that dynamic with. He doesn't have the years of experience in how Tim reacts to various forms of boundaries and punishments, because he's never been the one who set them or enforced them. He's probably never sat down and talked to Tim about his feelings in his life. And Tim, I repeat, is fourteen years old, possibly one of the most difficult ages for a kid. Everyone's 14 year olds are suddenly more difficult than usual and pushing boundaries.

On top of that, he's got to learn this all on the fly, in circumstances where he basically has no support. "Help, I'm a new single father to a teenager' isn't really a genre of self help book or parenting group that gets a lot of love - most people who are single parents aren't men, and most people looking for advice on dealing with problems with raising their kids are talking about under-5s, because by the time kids are out of the toddler stage most parents have a reasonable idea of what works and what doesn't, have networks set up, and are usually reaching out for a bit of advice or support about a specific situation, not Dealing With It All.

What Jack really needs is a buddy or two who are also single fathers to teenage boys, who have experience navigating this, maybe who also acquired responsibility for their son in his teen years. Wow. I mean that's a big ask, but funnily enough, there's someone who lives right next door who exactly fits that description...

(The tragedy that Bruce and Jack only ever have the one discussion about parenting Tim, the kid they've been effectively co-parenting since Tim was 13 years old, and that that discussion took place with Jack holding a gun on Bruce).

So of course Jack is terrible at being a parent to Tim. He's inexperienced, he doesn't have any support, he doesn't SEEK support outside of marrying Dana (and Dana clearly while lovely is both ineffective and reluctant to interfere in Jack and Tim's relationship). Now, he fails on very specific axes, in ways that are both understandable and also signs that Jack has a bad handle on his temper.

His go-to threat is sending Tim back to boarding school, because: when Tim was at boarding school, Jack didn't have any discipline issues with Tim! It clearly worked!; Tim doesn't want to go back to boarding school, making it a threat to hold over him; again, Jack's seeing a kid who is sneaking around, lying, running away and he's at his wits end - there's a narrative in the circles he lives in that such kids DO need to be taught to behave and sending them to boarding school is a way to do that.

He runs hot and cold on paying attention to Tim because up until Tim was 14 that was...what he did! And it wasn't such an issue then, as he wasn't a single parent. And when he pays attention, he does tend to be focused (laser focused, in fact), in getting Tim out of No Man's Land, of the dramas at school during Cry of the Huntress when Jack's getting outraged over Tim's bruises and getting into fights, when he's arguing with Ariana's uncle over whether Tim and Ariana's relationship was going too far.

It's just that he never developed the day to day, in between level of parenting and boundary setting and discipline. He's got a temper, and he swings between "it'll be fine, Tim's a smart kid, I trust him" laid back permissiveness, and getting mad and going immediately to the nuclear option: "You are going back to boarding school!" and so on.

He doesn't know how to walk away and calm himself down when he's worked up. He's not particularly good at redirecting his aggression. And he gets easily frustrated, because in his mind everything went smoothly for years...until it was all his responsibility.

And the thing is, there are so many ways Jack could have tried harder to be a good parent, that were available to him. But because of his background and the culture he lived in and the demands of storytelling he never reached out for any of them.

(And Bruce was right there! They knew each other socially! Everyone knew Bruce had worked through having two teenage sons on his own! He could have asked for advice, and he even knew Bruce knew Tim, given Bruce had officially fostered Tim while Jack was in a coma and in hospital. If you were putting together a specific support group you'd kick yourself over how perfect this was)

It's just such a part of the tragedy of Jack Drake.

Okay, I'll continue talking! So as we all know, RC9GN frequently involves characters being turned into rampaging monsters through no real fault of their own. And then there's Evil Julian, who was a whole thing. What I'm saying is, the Ninja cast are not strangers to the idea of people being forced into evil the way Chase was... but I don't think Chase goes around telling people about his tragic backstory unless he's trying to make a point. So, like, do any of them know Chase is technically under the influence of a mind-altering substance? That he didn't want to be like this, he just didn't want his best friend to leave him behind? Under what circumstances might the First Ninja find out? Under what circumstances might Randy find out?

Of course, what happened to Chase is definitely not the same thing as what happens to people under the Sorcerer's influence. For one, it's a lot more permanent. It's pretty clear in Xiaolin Showdown that Chase is too far gone and can't be cured at this point, if he ever could have been. The only way to stop him from ending a haughty, self-centered dragon would be to stop him from drinking the soup to begin with. And he's still himself on some level. As you said, he still has honor, he can still care, he's still capable of independent rational thought. It seems less like possession and more like very targeted (evil) brain damage. At the same time, this does mean it's technically possible for Chase to turn his back on what he's become. He may never be who he was again, but he can still change, as Omi believes he can. Though jury's out if he believes he can change. Anyway, there's a lot of drama to be wrung out of this, especially if the First Ninja realizes he probably would have liked the man Chase used to be.

Also, I'm just saying, the First Ninja denying that he chained up his evil husband to stop Chase from hurting people while he searches for a cure to the curse that makes Chase evil would be very funny.

OKAY OW HANG ON LISTEN The idea of First deciding to chain up Chase not just because he is an evil menace, but also in order to find a cure for his transformation, hit me so unexpectedly hard in the feels, like FR DUDE???? OW???

There is an argument/theory about how technically Chase doesn't need to constantly drink the Soup (based on how in alternative future, captured by Jack, Chase didn't drink it in captivity, and as soon as he was released he was kinda bordering on 'feral' lizard mode - Soup helps him keep in control AND keep ahold of his human form, rather that he is absolutely dependant on it), but he does it because he is, well, basically addicted to it.

SO it would be more of First chaining his Evil Brain Damaged Addict of (totally not a) Husband in order for to find a most likely nonexisting cure to his cursed (????) transformation. The ANGST POTENTIAL of it.

And your first points are so interesting and absolutely valid! Chase's situation can be compared to Stank-ification, but you know what would make an even more interesting comparison? The Sorcerer himself.

I think we often forget that technically, Sorcerer situation is him being separated from his humanity and twisted into an immortal monster by Chaos Pearls, because he - as the Peddler - made one decision, one mistake, after being seduced by power greater than him. Sounds familiar doesn't it?

Of course there are a few key differences here:

Sorcerer is literally separated with his human self (soul perhaps??) that is trapped in Land of Shadows, while Chase's humanity seems to have been surpressed and/or muted by his Draconic Self. (or perhaps stolen with his soul by Hannibal, which is a popular theory about how exactly Roy Bean/Soup turned Chase.)

Chase's change is permanent. While Sorcerer situation is possible to fix - it literally happens in the finale.

BUT!!! no one actually knew it was possible to fix before. At least no one gave any indication that it was a known fact about Sorcerer's humanity still existing somewhere in Chaos Realm/Land of Shadows.

I'm pretty sure First/Norisu Clan believed that the Sorcerer was a human changed and twisted into an immortal by chaos. Impossible to kill and impossible to return to normal - that's why he was imprisoned. To keep him contained.

I mean, couldn't First Ninja, after capturing The Sorcerer, try to get his human self from the Land of Shadows himself, if he knew? After all he had access to a Chaos Ball! But he didn't know there was anything to be recovered, that the Sorcerer could be actually unmade just by reuniting him with his human half.

(At least thats my personal HC, but im pretty sure the canon show just retconned/fumbled a bit the whole Sorcerer resolution lol.)

SO just imagine. First learns about Chase's past. And he is freaking aghast. Here is another twisted by evil, but while he and his brothers failed to save those changed that they first encountered (the 'killed first stanked monsters' theory tie in!), they managed to save those that came after. And if First could, he would have tried to save The Sorcerer, no matter how much he hates him. But... Chase is different. There is still something of humanity left in him. Perhaps he can save Chase.

And from Chase's pov? He sees how Ninja saved Stanked people, and he doesn't even consider those situations as similar to his. Sure, people are turned into monsters, but he was turned into a monster by his own choice, there is nothing to save him from. (Isn't there?)

But he watches as First releases those people from the clutches of chaos, watches as he tries so hard to save them... And maybe it makes him yearn, that someone tried just a little bit harder to save the 'him' before he made that choice.

And if First cages Chase and says: "I want to help you. To Cure you." It will certainly enrage Chase - because who does this man think he is, tryin to contain and cure THE Heylin Prince of Darkness, like he is some halpless trapped commoner??? He came to be long before this man's Clan existed and he will be there long after this man will become dust.

But also... maybe deep deep deep inside, Chase is... confused? and pleased? - that someone like Fist Ninja grew to care enough for him to try and save him, even if there is nothing to be saved.

So they would be at this standstill, where First is trying to help a cause that isnt quite possible to fix, and Chase is... well, being Chase.

But, yeah, certainly another amazing thought process from you Anon <3, I've been trying to answer this ask for so long, because every time i start to write i get overcome with emotions about those scenarios like...damn. It's funny, but also the possible drama of all of this... hnnnfgggg

so i'm almost done with my "terror" (show) rewatch and just finished reading "terror" (book) yesterday so let me ramble lowkey about the differences

i do love of course the little character details of the book that couldn't possibly make it into the show. sir john's devotion to his "gentleman" status to the point that he stays dead silent during sex, for one, crozier getting jacked off in a pond for another. the book's meandering pace gave us lots of ship descriptions (agonizing) but also lots of time with even minor characters (peglar for one)

and so because of their respective mediums, i like each ending/portrayal of tuunbaq in its own way. in the book, it's a spirit created by a goddess, forced to wander the frozen north and feast. silna and people like her are psychic, marry other psychics to create their own tribe, their own people. this is not to control tuunbaq but simply to communicate; they leave it offerings, it doesn't kill them. the white men have no way to understand this, and so they trespass and are murdered. crozier leaves his identity behind to join these people, loses his tongue, has children by silna, and feels the honor in this choice. tuunbaq's appearance is ephemeral, difficult to explain, almost incorporeal. it isn't a monster, it's a part of the land in the same way winter is. very spiritual

in the show of course it's much more straightforward. it's a beast that can be injured, can eventually be killed, needs to be bound to a shaman that can control it. silna cuts out her own tongue to follow in her father's footsteps, instead of having lost her tongue as a child in this psychic group. it dies, agonizingly, like so many of the polar bears it resembles, yet another victim of british colonialism. silna is ostracized by her people for its death under her watch. crozier joins the netsilik without her, assimilating culturally if not on this secondary spiritual plane. obviously this makes much more sense to see on screen

the other big change is of course the health of the men. sure they SAY in the show the men are failing, and we see some of them, but the book, agonizingly (good), details every mile they haul sledges, every symptom of scurvy, a few violent deaths from botulism, blanky losing first part of his foot, then half his leg, then several wooden legs break and he calls its quits when the stump is gangrenous. the book is so clear that this takes MONTHS, it feels like months, hickey's mutiny is almost a minor footnote because they were all already almost dead by the time it occurs. the cannibalism is such a last resort that they're all half-dead by that point. it's slow, it's painful, so it all makes more... sense, almost. you FEEL their pain, this slow horrific death, the STARVATION

that said i love the death of fitzjames in the show. he's got scurvy and dies of botulism in the book, but i think it's just scurvy in the show. we see his battle scars, obtained in a colonial venture to asia, re-open and suppurate. in a very real, literal way, his past has come to haunt him, to poison him. he dies on another colonial mission, weakened by his former expeditions eating him alive, destroyed by this land that wants them dead

and from researching this show/book i got linked by some very helpful redditors to some very long articles detailing inuit descriptions of finding hms terror before it sank, so i'm excited to dip into those

So yeah basically reader and jack trying to cope with his whole monster metamorphosis

That was something he said to you one night, unprompted

Of course you both had a vague idea of what was happening to him; but neither of you had answers... let alone fully understood

Of course, he knew more than you. He was the one living with this... curse.. and he had it before the two of you met

But even now, it was showing how ugly things could get, and it was only the beginning

Obviously; his appearance was changing. His skin became.. cold, veins were showing, he simply looked like he was dying. Obviously, he had pits for eyes, which were constantly dripping this cold black ooze. His ears and teeth were now pointed, and his fingers ended in claws. But other than that; he more or less looked like a normal person, if you overlooked those silly details

Oh, his tongue.. no matter how you may feel about it, the process of how he "obtained" the monstrous thing is horrifying.

To spare the details, his original tongue essentially split into the half dozen tendrils it is today

Not good stuff, and he felt all of it

And of course there's the psychological and behavioral effects of the curse; to get the big bad out of the way, he can no longer eat normal food. No need to elaborate. Good news is, as of now, he doesnt need to feed often. But when he does, he runs the risk of losing control, almost becoming animalistic in the way he behaves

That's his main fear

He's expressed that those frenzies happen he finds it harder and harder to contain himself, or come back down

He worries that one day you'll be the one getting chomped on

Really, there's nothing either of you can do to stop this or lessen the effects of the curse

Bro only has two options; suck it up and become a monster that can't resemble anything of this world. Or die

There already were some nights where he may have snipped at you. He didn't mean to be aggressive, but he was trying so hard to keep it together. He needed you to leave the area and stay away for a while

Some days his memories begin to cloud, that's probably the scariest for him. It'd be scary for everyone, obviously

I dont typically like writing angst without adding some sort of comfort, or happy ending, but that sort of thing just. Doesnt exist here. Jack's fate is pretty much sealed, and what sucks is that he didnt ask to be dragged into this

This is all sorta based off that spin off backstory jack got (though tbf I dont recall if it was even made by his original creator, though my take is in a silly au), where he makes friends who are (unbeknownst to him) in a cult and had plans to use him

Bro didn't want this, and really the whole thing is tragic

Of course, I'll still try to add some comfort, as it feels wrong to just drag this man around like this

Smells seem to have a positive response

Makes sense; its said that the brain ties smells to memories, and associating it with certain things

So if you wear a certain perfume or use a certain detergent to wash clothing, he'll definitely remember and recognize it. It seems to help him come down after a bad spot

Journaling can help him keep track of the days; though you'll need to give him some time on that... hard to hold pencils when you have claws..

And of course, comfort him; be there for him

The lava monster issue

There was a certain weird aspect about the lava monster. The concept of him and his backstory is simple, what makes him relatable episodic character, but only on the surface level, because as soon you start to think and analyze the details and how it sticks to the premise of setting, you will realize that there's something wrong either with the character or with something around him.

First of all, ironically, but exactly this lava warrior is the first human Jack ever kills. Yes, Jack just helped him to rest in peace, so the guy died mostly due to his age, so he is in Valgalla now as he wanted, but still. Jack became the reason of his death, hence he killed a human before his encounter with bounty hunters from 5 episode of 4 season.

Second, how this warrior mentions, the monster (of course, Aku) imprisoned him in crystal, but the warrior's spirit was strong enough so this "prison" stone became his body basically, and he is able to fight and even control stones and lava... And instead of a battle against Aku for avenging his family and maybe even helping to other enslaved ones he creates various traps for a warriors, who would kill him, so he would go to Valgalla through honorable duel... What?! There's no mention that he can't leave these mountains! He literally created all these traps, i.e. he went on outside of the mountains! Yes, he is trapped in the stone body, but he doesn't mention that he can't leave these lands! He can do various weapons from own body just like Aku does! What a heck?! He is the earth/lava bender straight up!

And, well, with omiting some details for a while, this warrior did nothing wrong and was pretty good guy, who protected his people. Why the three alien gods from "Birth of Evil" did nothing?! Why they didn't help to this guy to save his family?! Why they didn't give him a weapon against "the monster"?! Why they were okay with him being cursed and trapped for eons?! And third, his backstory raises lots of questions. Of course, since this guy exists for eons, and he learnt lava/earth bending after many centuries of lying in the cursed trap, his memories about the past could be mostly erased and become very vague, i.e. he remembers only certain vague parts, but not details and full events (and, well, we remember the example of Emperor's words about his confrontation with Aku in 1 episode of 1 season and what really happened in "Birth of Evil" between him and Aku). But still. Like, he mentions that the black moon made the solar eclipse and started to grow, so the darkness absorbed skies and woods and then "the monster born from the darkness attacked" and began to destroy the warrior's kingdom.

Ah... why Aku decided to teleport(?) exactly this way? Moreover, why Aku was there alone and decided to attack exactly them and exactly to burn these lands with its human habitants?! This event clearly happened after Jack was sent to the future, 'cause before this Aku chilled only in Emperor's lands (and after he was free from the stone tree, he attacked exactly Emperor's kingdom). You really don't see the problem? Well, if Aku started to take over the world, he had to be with the large armies of robots and demons, i.e. the warrior would remember small demons and "giant iron insects/people" or whatever. Plus, the people mostly would be enslaved, not killed. Another aspect — how, according to the lava warrior, Aku mocked on him "You'll never join your family/friends!" and hence trapped him in the magical crystal forever just because the warrior attacked him (and again this parallel with arrows).

Ah... I don't know, but such a brutal punishment "for eternity" would be more suitable for Jack's parents, especially Jack's father, not just some random dude from thousands Aku will see in the future (although, Aku could see some parallel — like, the guy clearly was a chief in his tribe and had a wife and two sons, but nah, here Aku just demonstrates that black cynical humor some mythical creatures/spirits had). Simply saying, the guy not only has almost erased and vague memories about these events, but also he doesn't know the whole story, 'cause he arrived exactly after the attack already happened.

Trick or Treat with Casimir? 🎃👻

You have been... Treated!

Trick or treat here! Please come again, there's plenty of treats to go around!

Casimir has no clue what Halloween is, poor thing. There's a good chance he might be familiar with a similar concept of some variety, but Halloween as we know it? Not a clue.

So, of course, when you explain it to him, he's very curious and excited to learn more! He wants to know everything. I hope you like Halloween, because now he's looking at you like you're an expert with that adorable glimmer in his eyes he gets when he's excited, so buckle up!

You're gonna end up giving him the Full Halloween Treatment. It begins, of course, after your lecture on what exactly Halloween is, with decorating! It's time to leave a very impatient Casimir for an hour or so while you run to the nearest dollar/discount store and raid their Halloween section for all sorts of goodies. And oh, if you thought he was excited before? The way his eyes light up when you come in with your arms overflowing with bags is nothing short of delightful.

You've brought him everything you could find and think of. You have colorful lights in the shapes of pumpkins and cats and bats (plus a string of regular orange lights for him to potentially destroy while trying to figure out how they work), you've got all sorts of decorations, you've got pumpkins! And beyond all of that, you've also grabbed some other supplies, 'cause it's time to get crafty!

With your guidance and assistance, you carve a pumpkin or three together, because what's a classic Halloween without a jack-o'-lantern? This is actually one of the older traditions, so Casimir might be somewhat familiar with carving large vegetables and putting a candle inside of them, but even so, he definitely hasn't had a chance to do it in ages. He loves working with his hands, so he definitely enjoys the chance to make something with you, and after a bit of a learning curve, his pumpkin-carving skills are simply incredible. He's got a knack for intricate details and remarkably steady hands with all the time he spends working on clocks. The little flickering LED candle light you pop in the pumpkin fascinates him, too.

Speaking of making things, back to crafts! You've gotten all of those DIY fall craft kits you could get your hands on, because he obviously never experienced them as a kid. You guide him through painting and glueing and decorating all sorts of things, from little scarecrows to mini foam pumpkins and paper bats and all sorts of things! He's never been happier. I think Casimir would absolutely adore making things with those he loves, especially his very favorite person~

After all of the crafting festivities are done, it's time for other traditions. You tell him about Trick-or-treating, and while you can't exactly take him out to experience it, you help him put together a costume (or perhaps the House provides them for you both, if you ask nicely?) I think he would love dressing up - it's unusual, and he might feel a touch awkward at first, but he'll get over it soon enough and enjoy himself. I'm not sure what he'd be - a werewolf is a bit too mean, but Vampire Casimir? Sign me up! You definitely eat candy together too, even if he doesn't quite get the trick-or-treating fun.

If you ask very very nicely and do some extra chores, the House might just be willing to put on a haunted house for you! It configures itself into a little maze with dim lighting and a spooky atmosphere, has random 'monsters' pop out at you randomly, accompanied by the growls and screams you might expect! Casimir doesn't let go of your hand the entire time, partially because he's more scared than he wants to let on, partially because he wants to protect you - and partially to ground himself so he doesn't lose control of his emotions and shift accidentally.

I don't think he would like scary movies, though. He's fascinated by the way they work, sure, but... I feel like he would prefer more lighthearted films. Maybe a little spooky, but nothing too scary - in addition to not liking the gore and murder of it all because it reminds him of being a 'monster' himself, he's always paranoid that he'll get too spooked by a jump scare and lose control.

All in all though Casimir quickly becomes obsessed with Halloween, and you've never seen him so delighted!

How would Pedro-characters react to reader using their safe word for the first time during a session of rough sex or role play?

Using Your Safe Word For the First Time:

Javier: Role play isn’t really something Javier does. He fucks, sometimes hard, sometimes slower. However, that time that he’s just really pounding into you, harsh grunts and bruising fingers digging into your flesh and you cry out your safe word, it’s full stop. Freezing and completely quiet for a moment while he is wondering if he actually heard you say the word. Before he is gently pulling out of you and starting to ask you what you need. He’s not exactly good with words, but he will take care of you. 

Ezra: Ezra is brutal, he loves to push you to the edge of your boundaries. When you finally do, the switch is flipped. The intense, almost glare on his face gives way to concern. His harsh hands turning gentle in an instant and working quickly to untie whatever has you restrained and he’s cooing soothing words to you. His water canteen comes out and he offers you slow sips and the half a Bits bar he has tucked away. After you calm down, he will find out exactly what made you utter those words. 

Mando: There are times when Mando seemingly tears you apart at the seems, breaks your entire body and leaves you limp and exhausted after your stress relieving sessions with him. This time, it’s a bit of role play. Hunter/prey is high on your list but you didn’t realize how intense he would be when he caught you. The raw way your knees dug into the rocky ground while his cock spears up into you, feeling like he’s punctured your guts and fucking your stomach. The hand wrapped around your throat makes your entire body hum in delight, right before you foolishly panic. Croaking out your safe word and feeling your anxiety rocket sky-high. Mando takes it in stride, immediately stopping and his entire demeanor changes. He doesn't ask you what you need, he’s immediately doing. Pulling you up, redressing you and carrying you back to the Crest like you are the most precious thing in the galaxy, which you are. 

Frankie: Frankie has some issues, some things that need working out or muted in his mind. Drugs used to be the way that he tried to quell the thoughts and memories that plagued him, but now the two of you try other things. Creeping into the BDSM realm had shocked him, initially he had said no, but then he had gotten curious. Only to find that some of the things that the two of you could do helped with those invasive thought and made it easier to resist having a relapse. It’s controlled of course, he never wants to actually hurt you. So when you use your safe work, his brain practically implodes. It’s muscle memory to react, he’s trained himself to make sure that no matter what, that word will penetrate whatever headspace he is in. Immediately stopping and tenderly cupping your cheek. Verifying that you used the word and asking you what you need. Whatever it is, it’s yours. And honestly? It will be awhile before the two of you play like this again. You will have to ask for it, because he won’t bring it up. 

Tovar: What is a safe word? He doesn’t have a clue. However he is not a monster. He will fuck you rough, give you his cock exactly he wants to give it to you. But if you say to stop, he will stop. After care or checking on you isn’t really a thing, just because he’s not ever done that before. You will either tell him that he needs to slow down and he can try again or he will jerk off. But he won’t be mad at you, maybe a little cocky because you can’t handle him. 

Agent Whiskey: Jack is a cocky mother fucker. Everyone knows that. He drips cockiness every time that mouth opens and he speaks. However, there is something to be said for taking care of a partner. Just like he would a Statesman, he is equally devoted to making sure you are taken care of. He has a tendency to ride you hard, so when you use that safe word, Jack immediately reins it in. Normally it’s with you tied to the bed with his lasso. Those knots immediately are undone and he trying his best to soothe you. 

Max Phillips: He ignores it. No, seriously, he doesn't. He knows that he fucks harder than those fucking humans you used to fuck. So he’s listening for your safe word and he pulls back when you manage to gasp it out. He doesn’t need you dying on him when he fucks you to death. It’s hard to explain that one away. 

Marcus Pike: Marcus is not the pushover in bed you had expected. He is definitely dirty, fucking filthy in the way that he takes you apart when he is inside you. The first time you utter that word, Marcus feels like he has done something wrong, pushed too much beyond your boundaries. Frowning and stroking your face and getting you to talk to him. He had overstimulated you to the point of pain and you couldn’t take anymore. You will be spoiled for the rest of the night. Not lifting a finger for yourself and being pampered.

Dave York: Do you really use a safe word with Dave? Do you? However, if you are overstimulated and need that word, he stops. Is he exactly happy about it? No. Because he knows you can take what he has to give you. After you have a few minutes, he will ask what caused you to use your safe word. Memorizing the line he can push you to before he has to stop. 

Marcus Moreno: Safe words are kind of part in parcel of having sex with Marcus Moreno. Just like his mild mannered exterior his the fact that he is a Heroic - the leader of the Heroics, it also hides the fact that this man is freak between the sheets. He’s had plenty of partners before you, the last one being his wife and safe words were used. He doesn’t freak out the first time that you use your safe word. Just dialing back and stopping the role play. Moving immediately into nurturing mode and taking care of you needs. Comfort, water, checking you physically to make sure you are okay. Marcus is honestly the king of kinky aftercare. 

Max Lord: Doesn’t know what to do when you use your safe word . Honestly doesn’t react at first, except for stopping. Dumbfounded and unsure of what just happened. Needs a little bit of prompting but it’s okay. This man isn’t very experienced with women beyond the two others that he has slept with and he definitely didn’t have an adventurous love life with either one. So you have to walk him through what you need at this moment. However, he is eager to please and needs to take care of you. 

Zach: Horrified. Disgusted with himself and blaming himself for letting go too much. He’s stammering an apology before he snaps into action and starts taking charge and taking care of you. You don’t even get a chance to speak for awhile. We are talking this man examines you to make sure he didn’t do any damage. You will be brought water, food, a bath will be run. All accompanying those caresses that he hopes conveys how sorry he is. 

Javi G: Is there really a reason to really have a safe word with this man? He is literally a gentle soul who loves worshiping your body like it should be. HOWEVER....role play is definitely something he can get into. Especially when you put on your pleading face and pout at him. He will do anything. Except he gets a little too into it, and you end up using that word. He will be begging you for forgiveness and kissing you, asking you how he can ever make it up to you. Puppy dog eyes activated.

Dieter: Safe words? You use those? No, seriously, as much of a horn dog as this man is, he respects safe words. He’s already apologizing as he thrusts particularly hard into you. When the word pops out of you mouth, he’s pulling away quickly, eyes blown wide and slightly frantic as he tries to figure out what he did. More apologies coming out of his mouth and he’s about to order the entire room service menu to make you feel better. Do you want some cocaine? Cocaine always makes him feel better.

Settled on the side of Wright Mountain, Oak Hill is little more than a hamlet you may drive through if you accidentally got off the Interstate too early, but for the people who live there, it’s home. For years, rumors of a secret pack of werewolves have been spread around the area, and many locals are sceptic of the Sims that live there. A suspicious string of deaths over the past 15 years only added to the suspicion of the townspeople. However, if you look past the surface, you will find a town that deeply cares about each other and the future of their little community.

It's time for some storytelling!

When I originally created Oak Hill, I wanted to do introduction posts just like I did with Sedona, but life happened. Anyway, I still tried to come back to it and chiselled away at it from time to time. And I've finally finished something. So here we go.

A brief refresher on the families that live in Oak Hill below:

Asia and Erica met in a group home in the city and became fast friends. When Asia decided to move back to her birth town to solve the mystery of her mother’s death, Erica, without real prospects in the city, moved in with her. Will Asia ever get the answers she so desperately seeks for?

The Simms have recently taken in their troubled niece, Kayla, after her widowed father proved unable to care for her. Between two teenagers and Bonnie putting in long hours at the salon, patience is stretching incredibly thin at the Simms residence.

Following the death of their parents, the Khan siblings moved in with their grandmother. Mariam’s got her hands full with the lot of them: Isaac has become a hedonist after the death of his parents, while the twins’ obsession with death has been worrisome, to say the least. And Farrah… Farrah’s talents might put her on a collision course with danger.

When Stephanie helped Cynthia furnish her post-divorce apartment, sparks flew, and Cynthia was able to make the town’s recluse come out of her shell after almost fifteen years. With Cynthia fighting tooth and nail against her ex-husband in the upcoming election, and Stephanie wondering if she is on the right side, the couple is in for a troublesome time.

Frank McCoy has always been an oddity around town, preferring plants over people. Meanwhile, his sons are wreaking havoc around town, with Jack romancing every available woman in town, while Andy’s eccentric inventions are responsible for quite a few hospitalizations. Will Frank be able to regain control over not only his sons but also the monster he created so many years ago? Or will he have to make way for the next generation?

Everyone knows Keith and his faithful dog Pepper around town. So, when Keith lost his job, his house and his daughter following the death of his wife, it was only natural for the McCoys to let him live in their groundskeeper’s cottage. Only time will tell if he’ll be able to get his life back on track though…

Richard Townsend is the big man around town and has big plans for Oak Hill. He’d stop at almost nothing to make his plans come true, but his son’s romantic exploits might put a damper on his chances to win the upcoming election.

Trey: He's happy his underclassmen found his unique magic! But please stop using it on Riddle. Also he hopes he never uses the nightmare part of it.

Cater: OOOOO SPOOKY!! He tells him it kinda fits him since he's always looking for loop holes to fall through when Riddle is trying to lecture him.

Jack: Oh cool dude how does it work and how did you get it? He wants to know the basics since it's his friend and he also wants to know so he doesn't make him trigger it. No one wants to see their worst nightmare.

Azul: Welp that's another person he wants in a contract again. But he won't do that since it could be very bad since his could possible cancel out his unique magic. And plus he doesn't wanna get a nightmare.

Jade: He's weary of him and makes sure Floyd doesn't provoke him to use his unique magic. Jade is a calculated man he won't poke a bee hive. He wish his twin would leave him alone.

Floyd: He was shocked when he used it on him to stop him from fighting a student that messed up his shot. He is the one Ace uses the most on since he's mood switches like the California weather.

Kalim: WOAH!! COOL!! He is listening to Ace brag about his unique magic now since he heard from Jamil.

Jamil: He was there when Ace first used it. He was shocked that he was able to control Floyd from hurting a Savannaclaw student. He thinks it's useful and hopes he never uses it on him.

Vil: Ugh of course that boy got i=that Unique magic. He better not use it all willy nilly since he will get beat down by these other students. He was impressed since it was a strong one but he better not use it on him.

Rook: Was spying on the basket ball club when Ace used it on Floyd he wanted to know more so he stalked him more to the point that Ace used it on him. It feels like you are a life size puppet being used.

Epel: HUH WHY DOES HE GET A COOL ONE??? He's lowkey jealous but he still likes his unique magic.

WESTERN MEDIA, THE EARTHQUAKE AND POLITICS

Minute 17, a shot of Syrian civilians looking at the dead bodies of their relatives. Voiceover: "this area is controlled be rebels. The Syrian government in Damascus regards them as terrorists, who should not receive international humanitarian aid", shot of civilians again. Follows interview of Faisal Mekdad, Syrian Foreign Minister, saying "we must ensure this aid doesn't reach terrorists and militants in the areas they control. The international community must be aware of this in the context of its declared war on terror". Cut, voiceover "Unlike the Syrian government, nature doesn't distinguish who lives in one or the other side of the front line".

The earthquake hit regime-held areas and rebel-held areas. The regime-held areas (see Lattaquia, Aleppo, Tartus) are being controlled by the oppressive Syrian regime. The rebel-held areas are being controlled by Islamist rebels, that's why they are called rebel-held. Now apart from the rebels who control the areas, there are millions of civilians in those areas. The Syrian regime made a pact with the rebels in some areas so that they can reach the civilians and evacuate them to safety (to regime held areas away from the earthquake zone), as long as the regime rescuers are not military. So the Syrian regime sent the Syrian Arab Red Crescent rescuers (controlled by the regime) in many rebel-held areas, since the beginning. The Syrian regime also sent some Algerian rescuers that arrived to help in rebel held areas. Here you can see the Syrian Arab Red Crescent rescuer along with the Algerian rescuer in black in Idleb, a rebel-held zone :

Of course, none of this has been confirmed. We have no way to confirm it. But Syrian citizens in Jableh (a regime held city) have been reportedly receiving people from Idleb (a rebel held city). How did they arrive? Someone evacuated them.

But this Chanel 4 "reportage" doesn't mention any of that, not even the claims, nothing. This reportage, by not making a clear distinction between the civilians and the Islamist rebels, has us believe that the regime actually doesn't want international aid to reach the civilians, which is in direct contrast to what actually happened. But that does not serve our Western agenda of painting the Syrian regime as the absolute monsters that hinder any possible aid, which means that the decision to not send aid is not our conscious decision, we wanted to send aid but oops we can't and the Syrian regime is to blame. How fucking convenient.

The Syrian regime has also been employing the army in its own areas also since the beginning, at the same time when Erdogan was withholding the army for "political reasons", the same Erdogan that the Western media portrays oh so neutrally positively because in every single article on Turkey you can find his statement trying to justify himself : "no one could have been prepared for a catastrophe like this". I didn't see articles mentioning the clear favouritism (that many Turkish citizens have denounced) between areas with dense Kurdish/Syrian population and other areas, with the former receiving the least of help. I didn't see any article mentioning the fact that Erdogan had left greek rescuers alone without instructions for HOURS, losing valuable time, I didn't see an article mentioning that he initially refused the aid coming from Cyprus. Did you? I do not know if these are accurate, but these have been denounced by Turkish citizens and one would expect they would at least be mentioned as claims by our Western media. But no. It is lovely to have neutral pro-Erdogan journalism, isn't it? But of course, the Syrian regime are the only big monsters here, so that we can justify not doing JACK SHIT to help Syrian people. Real people, that are dying, right now as we speak.

In line with this carefully and oh so subtly constructed "reportage", multiple online newspapers say that international aid has been hindered by the Syrian regime, because the Syrian regime demanded that all aid passes from the capital, Damascus, first. I do not know if this is accurate, but if it is, I have a great difficulty understanding why exactly that is so shocking. Syria is in war and divided. Syria has an official government, that obviously wants to control the operations, and on the other hand you have militia that control the other side of Syria. While it is horrible that this situation exists in the first place, I fail to see how this could justify not sending help at all. Also, I fail to see how this statement could be true since the airport of Aleppo, a regime-held city, has already received international aid from Syrian allies. So why should western aid pass from Damascus? Spoiler alert, it doesn't have to. International aid can arrive at any airport of the Syrian official state if they want to help Syrian people, of course, that are right now dying or freezing/starving to death in regime held areas too. Thousands of them. But to put it simply, western countries do not give a flying fuck about the thousand of dead people in the regime controlled areas, and the millions of homeless (they don't give a fuck about rebel held areas either, if they did they would have done something). These people do not exist for them. Logic : as long as the regime is playing favourites (LMAO) we are not doing a damn thing, so the will ALL DIE.

The West cannot care to save human lives if the terms and the conditions are problematic. In that case, it's perfectly okay to let everyone die. Equality in death y'all.

Yes, the Syrian Foreign Minister is a piece of shit for saying that we have to make sure help doesn't reach the Islamist rebels, at this time of absolute catastrophe, but hey, so are our leaders and journalists, that say that we have to make sure help doesn't reach the Syrian regime. They are playing politics on people's lives. They are the same kind of disgraceful, but at least we have some evidence that the Syrian regime is in fact helping its citizens in the rebel areas.

What we know for sure is that no western country has done a damn thing.

Hi, Sephie! It’s me, again! I have another Halloween-related request once again. May I request HCs of the First Year Gang as Monster Hunters (Separately) with a [S/O] [Gender Neutral] [Romantic] who is secretly a Lycan?

A Lycan is a second breed of werewolf and they’re actually quite stronger than werewolves as they have more muscular structures. They also can control their shapeshifting ability from human to a humanoid creature while as traditional werewolves only transform by a full moon.

Basically, the setting would take place during a fight between the hunter(s) and a monster they’re assigned to kill off, but they’re about to lose until [S/O] shows, in the Lycan form, to protect them and fight off the fiend for almost eliminating their boyfriend. How would the gang react to discovering their partner is a supernatural creature?

hi there! i'm aware of lycans, but my knowledge was that it was just short for "lycanthrope" which is the disease or status that werewolves have. i've never heard of them being different from regular werewolves, so is this an original concept?

My current spn fic ideas

Succubus!sam - canon divergence where everything is the same except that Sam has Succubus powers that he cant really control. Humans and monsters will at random fall obsessively dangerously in love with him. (Not all of them but it happens often enough that its a problem) It does affect all demons he meets though. Weaker and lower demons will literally worship the ground he walks on and will be compelled to follow his every command while more powerful demons will be attracted to him but not subservient to him. This would most likely be a Cram fic btw

Fic based off this post- the apocalypse happens when Sam is in his teens. The fic I want to write is basically a rewrite of s4 but sam is 16 and Dean is 20 and they r 10x more emotional and irrational bcuz they r in the most insane situation that a 16 yr old and a 20 yr old could be in.

No monsters au/serial killer john au- i read this criminal minds/ spn crossover fic and became obsessed so I really wanted to write a criminal minds crossover of my own. Specifically i wanted to write a pre series fic where john and dean get caught but neither of them are talking so the cops bring in a 13 yr old sam and grill him but hes too traumatized to talk. However him being traumatized is interpreted as him being a stone cold psychopath and when the story gets out the media paints him as a serial killer in the making and 10 yrs down the line this reputation is still haunting him

Casifer gets trans woman Sam pregnant with Jack - Sam thinks that shes having sex with Cas but shes actually having sex with lucifer possessing cas. They of course do it raw and afterwards Sam begins noticing some strange things going on with her body but brushes it off as nothing until Lucifer reveals himself. However Lucifer also hadnt realized that hed gotten Sam pregnant until the soul fisting scene. At some point after the whole deal with Amara is resolved Lucifer kidnaps Sam and stashed him with Dagon (and yes i realize that i am ripping off Kelly Klines entire storyline for Sam) However sam of course wins Dagon over with her puppy dogs eyes and compelling personality and Dagon ends up deciding to help Sam and bcuz i refuse to kill off a woman of color she lives and becomes a part of team free will

(Additional Girl!sam fic- i also just want to write another girl sam fic that takes place in the early seasons. my idea of girl!sam is literally just kristen Stewart if she were 6'3. Shes super awkward. Also Jess is a dude and hes Josh Hutcherson bcuz short king)

Every sam girls favorite: Sam visions returns - After the episode which the name for im blanking on rn, bit its the one where they kill that one demon and get the spear of Michael. Anyway after sam kills that demon it ends up triggering his visions returning. Sam does not realize this but the visions are all about an unborn Jack bcuz yeah. Also probably some sam amd mary relationship weirdness bcuz you know. Also probably some Sam and Mary relationship tension bcuz she has once again altered his fate and inadvertently allowed the state of his "humanness" to be altered

Austus is their name, Solar is their title. They're a holy warrior of the sun, with their body capable of harnessing the sun's power due to a divine transformation they're undergoing. This gives their body a glowing, warm appearance. Their current quest is to bring light into dark places, and they commonly fight back against shadow monsters and accompany adventurers in their nighttime travels. They want to travel all of Kyor and feel the sunlight in all its high places, with their final goal being to become a vessel of the sun itself. This process of becoming the sun involved a ritual, with a magic tattoo being placed on them to slowly mutate their body into a vessel. They can speed up this process by using more of their sunlight abilities and furthering their quest. Austus is odd in their mannerisms, but as friendly as can be. They enjoy helping others, but also won't miss the chance to stop and rest. Their strange nature and dedication to their quest make them quite lonely, so they treasure the time they get to spend with other parties. Their story is currently unfolding in the dnd campaign, so we'll see how their quest goes!

Max is an exiled Vaness, who now travels the country taking bounty hunter jobs with his partner. He was exiled because he killed his own brother when he was a teen, but this was due to a curse that was placed on him before he was born. The curse fills with him an insatiable lust for blood and flesh, which while makes him an excellent fighter, it keeps him from stopping before the other person is mangled to hell. The Vaness are fighters, but in a sport sense. They admire fighting as an art but condemn senseless bloodshed, so when Max killed his brother they sent him away. Lucky for Max, there is a way to cope with the curse. He found out that if he eats raw animal meat (that due to the curse he can process) that need for killing completely goes away for a while, its just a matter of eating it every week, like a medicine. Him and his partner will go on hunting trips to keep this condition managed. :) Writing out his backstory now makes him seem really edgy, but he's quite upbeat, playful and outgoing! He's the kind of person who's presence uplifts a room. He loves to wrestle and generally goof around, as guys do.

Jackson is a hitman/bounty hunter that is currently working for the Order Church. He feels no actual affiliation with their ideology, but he works for them because the pay is good and it keeps him out of trouble with the law (since, well, they are the law). Jackson is an antisocial weirdo who got himself possessed by a demon in hopes of it making him more sociable and charismatic. The demon he got himself into a deal with, Sonia, is a mirror demon. Mirror demons make special pacts with people to act as a sort of 'coach', in exchange for the person engaging in the demon's vice. For Jackson's case, his demon makes him more assertive, charismatic, and confident, while he's supposed to kill and cause violence for the demon. Right now, the demon and Jackson are two semi-separate people, with the end goal that their personalities, traits, and consciousness merge until there is no distinction and they function as one entity, both internally and externally. Because Jack does not normally crave incredible violence, and because of his lack of ability to control the vices of his demon, this process of becoming one is not going super well. Unlike Max, Jackson does act a bit edgy. He's aloof, tries to act cool and badass, but often just comes across as strange and like a bit of a loser. With the demon helping him, he comes across as much more intimidating and fills the role of 'badass hitman' better. Though, under all that, all Jackson really wants is to fit better into society and make some real genuine friends.

in fact the first app i tried to use was notion because i saw a lot of people on youtube saying that it helped them to get organized (but my account in the app got closed which frustrated me a bit)

I realized that I am not a person of too much order and notion was very methodical and I was overwhelmed, although it is actually a good app and I started it again with a little more calm (between online)

I found milanote because it sponsored a booktuber that I see (XD) and I started using it. It really helps me, I can put the notes I need, reminders with color, mind maps, reference images, I can change the color of the notes and the background. I'm not good at explaining and to keep things short I can only say that milanote is my organizer app (although it has little space for free and I can't have the paid one).

Another question, what kind of music do you listen to write? Right now I'm listening to Melanie Martinez as I write that (I love that woman) and some audio edits.

As for the guys and the powers.

Hiccup of course has the powers of fire but I was also thinking about linking with animals, for all the linking with dragons, for a moment I thought about putting it for rapunzel but I already have her defined and I can't think of this for merida then he stays with hiccup. For example, if they are in a wild place, he can have some communication (or understanding) with the animals and avoid problems with the most dangerous ones or ask for some kind of help (also I like that detail of the connection he has with toothless that can understand him). Moving on to the fire powers, I feel that for that reason, Stoick would send him to the forge with gobber, both to help gobber and hiccup learn and to develop his power, although he would also use inferno to not depend so much on his power ( that's what I feel).

Rapunzel: she has this whole healing thing, I once read in an HP AU that witches carry their hair up and take great care of it because that's where they store/channel most of their power.

I would put something similar to her, but with some changes, for example, she has a core where she has her healing power, but she channels it into her hair (that's why she would be so strong and would keep it tied in the braid from the movie haha ) but, since hair is a weak point and can be easy to cut (Eugene showed us that) she can use her power without having to channel it into (forgive the redundancy) her hair. Also, I feel like she would be very sensitive to magic and this whole astral plane thing (I was inspired by Dr. Strange to be honest) so it would be a useful skill on the battlefield, when she's blind she can feel the astral form of their enemies (or the aura, but I have this in doubt xd) and know their location.

Jack is a whole thing in my head. For example, the way he got his powers, I even told him the story of how he got them LOL (I can tell you about that in another note if you need more context). The thing is that, based on that, in addition to having his winter powers, Jack is able to move water (or liquids) to turn them into ice or snow (which would be, convert it to be able to manipulate it) also, as in the movie With the bunny he makes in Jaime's room, he could make animated ice figures, things he could handle/control/bring to life (something like the snow monster in Elsa's castle?)

This is where it gets complicated because, the "extra" (to give it a name), that I wanted to include in Jack, is that he possesses magic, we could call it "pure magic", and it was this that saved Jack from dying. drowned and gave him his ice powers.

And it's all I've got, I haven't been able to develop Merida well and I'm still in doubt about what to include in Jack of the ideas that I already mentioned.

oh awesome i'm glad milanote works for you! yeah notion can be pretty complicated if you can't find the right templates or want to make your own setup and can't figure it out, so if milanote is what you find most helpful you should stick with it! i just got back into notion again recently because i Really need to be outlining and found having some organization way more helpful than 5 different google docs 😭

i listen to different stuff depending on what i'm writing, like i have different playlists for each of my fics and original projects so i put one of those on while working, but sometimes i just have a single song i'm really into and i'll put that on repeat! typically if i post some art where the caption is a line of lyrics then that's probably what i was listening to over the couple hours of drawing LMAO

yeah i do get that for hiccup! my personal interpretation is that i avoid giving animal powers to hiccup because i like him learning that empathy with them and dragons as a skill he has to develop as opposed to an inherent power he's born with or given, BUT again that's just how i think of it and that doesn't mean no one can do it! in an au with powers then him having a kind of mental link to toothless is really cool!

no that's a really cool idea for rapunzel! magic being stored in hair also reminds me of the comic witchy which utilizes a similar concept. the astral plane stuff is also cool, if you're thinking of having rapunzel have a sort of magical core then maybe she can sense that sort of thing in other people?

pure magic could even be man in the moon related! maybe it comes from him or is somehow otherwise related to him? and the water manipulation makes a lot of canon sense too, we see him creating frost and the like so it would track that he could do that to a larger degree, maybe not exactly water bending level but you know HAHA

oo i mean if you did go the route of having the pure magic be manny related, then him having "absorbed" that power could maybe make him susceptible to absorbing other power's like pitch's?
