(ID in alt)
Hello Tumblr! I am posting this on behalf of the Queer Liberation Library, who don't yet have a Tumblr, but have promised me they're working on it. Some of you may remember them from the Twitter Poll I was involved in a few months ago where Hunger Pangs: True Love Bites beat multiple award-winning, trad-pub queer authors with a hefty 69% (nice).
For those of you unaware, the Queer Liberation Library, or QLL, is an organization fighting to build a vibrant, flourishing queer future by connecting LGBTQ+ people with literature, information, and resources that celebrate the unique and empowering diversity of our community.
And today, June 12th, 2023, they launched their fundraiser to try and reach 15k so that they can start purchasing digital licensing for queer media and hopefully open their digital doors to library patrons across the US in 2023 with as many queer and trans books as possible.
You can check out their newly redesigned website here:
(If you are in an unsafe space and need to exit the webpage quickly, there is a quick exit bar at the top that redirects to a weather page. When I spoke to them about their web design they were also open to accessibility suggestions and are potentially working on a dark mode for those of us who need it.)
If you know me, you know I am unequivocally pro-library, both as a reader and a queer writer. But with the current rise of homophobia, transphobia, and the proposed ban on books taking hold in certain States, the importance of having protected access queer books cannot be over-emphasized enough.
The QLL aims to protect that access, aiming to provide FREE access to queer and trans media (ebook and audio) to patrons regardless of location within the United States.
They are funded entirely through regular donations from their supporters and their now annual Pride fundraiser, where they hope to afford the cost of not just library books but also maintaining their web presence and staff.
I cannot emphasize enough how much this project is a labor of love for everyone involved and its importance.
And just to clarify, I am not involved in any way beyond raising awareness. When QLL reached out and asked me to retweet their fundraiser tweets, I readily agreed and offered to post about it on Tumblr because I believe in their mission and the world they are trying to build.
One where queer and trans books can't be banned or taken off of shelves because of bigotry and hatred.
If you would like to donate to the cause, you can do so here:
They've already surpassed their first 2k, and it'd be absolutely wonderful if we could help them reach their next milestone. And if you can't give, please consider signal boosting this post.

Hey all! I just wanted to say that I’ve been getting a lot of questions in my inbox about how to support the WGA strike.
To answer the main question I’ve been getting, no one at the WGA has called for a boycott of watching/using television or streaming services. If that happens, I will let you know.
The main thing you can do right now, if you’re able, is to donate to the Entertainment Community Fund, which is a reputable and long-established hardship fund for people working in the entertainment industry. This is important because this fund is not just for writers, it benefits people at all levels who are going to be hurt by this. I was an assistant the last time the WGA almost struck and I was existentially terrified. Please look out for ways to support not just writers but everyone who works in the film and television industry. I will be keeping my eyes out -- if I see any assistant or crew funds popping up I will be signal boosting them.
If you want to give to something a little more whimsical, DSA-Los Angeles is raising money for food to send to the picket lines (and any that goes unused will go towards supporting future organized labor actions in Los Angeles): The Snacklist.
My other piece of advice is to just be very aware of where you’re getting your news from. Sites like Deadline, The Hollywood Reporter, and Variety depend heavily on the studio and network system for their business model, and are very conservative when it comes to criticizing industry power structures. Before you link or signal boost an article from one of these sites, take a beat to consider what biases might be at play. Information sources I prefer (admitting that I have my own biases) are places like the official WGA Twitter or statements from the WGA Negotiating Committee or Board of Directors. You can find information about all of this at the official WGA Strike Hub.
You can also think about how you’re talking about the strike. Yes, the writers are the ones striking, but if you look at the rundown of what happened at the negotiations I think it’s pretty clear that we are at this point because the studios refused to even open negotiations with us on most of our demands. This is just one gal’s take -- but we are NOT in this position because of the writers, we are in this position because of the studios, so be aware of the language that’s being used.
I have gained a lot of followers in the last few weeks as my strike posts have gone viral, and I want to honor that by continuing to be a good source of information. In particular, in the next few days I plan on writing up a detailed explanation of what everything in the WGA list of demands that was released entails and why we were asking for it. (I’m having an outpatient medical procedure on Thursday and will be on take-it-easy orders through the weekend, so that’s how I plan on contributing in the absence of being able to be at the picket lines)
Solidarity forever!

Devlog #16: Answers and Questions
Tumblr media
Hello everyone! Welcome to this month’s devlog!
If you just stumbled upon this, I am Adrienne, also known as insertdisc5! I’m the developer, writer, artist, main programmer, etc of the game. The game being In Stars and Time, a timeloop RPG, which is also the next and final game in the START AGAIN series, following START AGAIN: a prologue (available here!).  You can find out more about In Stars and Time here!!!
LET’S GET TO IT. This month is Q&A: Cohost edition!
“A Q&A again?” Heheh well I don’t have anything to talk about this month ✨ We’re working hard on finalizing the localization! And on porting to consoles! And on secret stuff! You know, the usual!!! Get excited!!! So, Q&A again 💖 And see, I asked questions for Q&As on Twitter. On Tumblr. On Discord. But some new social media platforms have entered the fray. SO.
Welcome to Q&A: Cohost edition. (Follow me on cohost and/or read this post I wrote about why I think cohost is neat teehee) (and follow me on bluesky if you want. I like it way less though. Sorry bluesky)
@ItsMeLilyV asks:
One of the bits of advice that gets tossed around by indie devs is to avoid making RPGs, especially for your first few games, because they tend to be large in scope, difficult to prototype, and easy to underestimate.
Was this ever a fear for you in making START AGAIN, or In Stars and Time? Did you take any special precaution to keep these games within a scope you could handle, and did you learn tricks from START AGAIN that carried over to ISAT when in came to keeping things manageable? Thank you!! ✨
I had no idea that was a piece of advice given, but yep, that makes a lot of sense! Since I didn’t know, I went in blissfully aware, teehee.
I will say that I am familiar with working on big projects from working on comics, and with seeing big webcomic artists always mention to never start with your magnum opus… And I could tell ISAT had the potential to be way bigger than I imagined, which is why I decided to start with creating the prologue to get used to RPGMaker as well as making games. Kind of a pilot of sorts!
Again, thanks to comics, I know to keep my scope pretty small, because even if you keep it small it WILL balloon into something way bigger than you thought. Just for the prologue, I imagined it’d be a 20mn game, and it’s easily a 2-3h one! Keep your scope small!!!
As for tricks, when I catch myself thinking “wow what if I added this cool thing”, I try to always keep in mind those two things: 1. How long will it take to implement (including bug testing), and 2. Does it add something important to the game. I know we always want to add a fishing game, or a fun minigame, but do you Need It. Does it add something substantial to the story, to the Themes. Or are you just adding it because you like fishing games. Which is a valid reason, but also, maybe just make a fishing game instead. You are not the Yakuza series!!!! You are a small indie gamedev!!!! Think about you in 4 months who has to fix all the fishing game bugs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@stem asks:
how is it to have a piece of art that's basically done (as far as i understand) that you can't share yet? like how do you personally bide the time until it's finally ready to release, or is it not really a challenge to wait? :0c
It’s so weird!!! The game has been done for so long!!! I’m very glad I asked some friends to playtest the game, so I could at least get some feedback before the game is out… In some ways it feels like the game will be done twice: once back when I finished making the game, and once when the game actually comes out. It’s just a very strange experience. Sometimes people tell me they’re excited to find out more about this story beat, or about this character, and a part of me is like… Wait, haven't you played the game? Oh, yeah, it’s not actually out. Guess you’ll find out later.
EDIT: My god. I just checked on my private devlog for when I completed the Alpha of ISAT. It was in August of last year (I lay down on the floor and look at the ceiling) (I still had to finish all the illustrations so really the game was Done Donezo in October but still…)
anon asked:
What role did Armor Games play in creating the final product?
SO MANY THINGS. Here are some of them: support when it comes to porting/marketing/social media/localization, feedback on the game and how to make it better, community guidance, testing support, QA/internal testing… The game couldn’t be the way it is without them.
For more small details, I have a weekly meeting with my producer, Dora! We talk about the game and how everything is going. A couple months back, I also was checking in with the internal QA team fairly often to fix any remaining bugs. They also helped me find ISAT’s additional programmer, Isabella, and she is a godsend because coding is hard. They also take care of communicating with press, finding more opportunities to showcase the game in conventions, talking with the localization/porting teams… I am probably forgetting a thousand little things they did to help out!!! THEY’RE SO GOOD OK
Anon asked:
So obviously the skills/spells/what have you are based off of Rock, Paper, Scissors. Did you design each "type" to be like a certain style? Rock being heavy damage and defense buffs, scissors being speed and quick attacks, like that?
Absolutely! I just went with the obvious. Rock is physical damage, defense focused, Scissors is swords, attack focused, and Paper is magic, mind focused. It was fun to develop a spell system around those! I’m excited for people to find out more about Craft…
@nickshutter asks:
I really loved START AGAIN (streamed it for a small handful of friends) and was super happy to hear about a follow-up! The cast is so much fun and their personalities are really well-balanced—did any of the characters change pretty drastically from their initial conception during development of the game?
I’m so glad you streamed it with friends… I hope you had a good fun time…
And for sure! Isabeau and Mirabelle were pretty set from the get go (himbo and shy wallflower), but Odile started as more of a gentle teacher type, even if I very quickly went the snarky old lady route. Siffrin and Bonnie were harder to pin down– I wasn’t sure how to portray Siffrin’s despair in the prologue, and started showing them more overtly depressed, but I thought it’d be Very Yummy to have them show a happy facade to their friends. And then, for ISAT, I had to figure out what a non-depressed Siffrin would be like, for the first couple acts of the game before the despair sets in. As for Bonnie, I had a lot of trouble figuring out what they’d be like, what kind of kid they were, what their relationship with everyone else would be like, and then I thought about what their past would be like and then their characterization was set in stone. Sometimes you need to figure out One Thing to unlock a character’s brain. I’m very excited for everyone to find out more about each character in ISAT!
@SuperBiasedGary asks:
What games (or other media) lit a fire under you to create your own?
It could be stuff you liked so much it inspired, something you found frustrating because you felt an itch to do it differently, or something that made you realise humans make things and you could be one of them.
I found a lot of indie games inspiring, but I think Umineko might’ve been the one that made me go… Oh, anyone can just make a massive video game narrative. And you can make it very simple, with kinda goofy sprites, and still manage to make an incredibly touching story!
As for frustrating games that lit a fire under me, I think I’d say in general, I found issue with the classic trope of the “main character helps people and doesn’t get anything back”. What often happens in some games is that you help NPCs with their problems, sometimes helping them with very intense, complicated problems! For a very long time! And, in exchange, you get… A cool item? A nice new skill? And that’s it?
I know this might be complicated to implement on a narrative perspective, but I remember playing Persona 5, and your character just went through a very harrowing experience (like, oh, being INTERROGATED AND TORTURED BY THE POLICE) and you help your friends during social links, and they go “thanks for your help! Bye~” like WHAT ABOUT ME. WHAT ABOUT MY PROBLEMS. CAN YOU GIVE ME A HUG
So on a certain level, I wanted a game where instead of the characters around you having problems, the main character also has problems. And is subconsciously screaming “CAN YOU PLEASE NOTICE I HAVE PROBLEMS AND GIVE ME A HUG.” And hopefully, the characters notice. Winks
Hm. I do want to say I wrote most of the prologue/ISAT during the pandemic, and I felt very lonely and not supported. But then guess what. I told my friends about how I felt. And most of them told me they had no idea, and vowed to support me more. And now I’m closer to them. So the moral of this answer is, yeah, it’d be nice if people noticed, but also, you need to tell people when you’re feeling bad. LOOKS AT SIFFRIN
Anon asked:
Is there a song you listen to in order to put yourself in the sasasa/ISAT mindset?
I have a whole playlist baybee. Before you ask: there aren’t any hidden meanings behind those song choices. It’s about the Mood, and also my personal tastes in music I listen to when I need to concentrate. I like songs that go WUB WUB
In no particular order, here are five random songs I played on repeat when making the prologue:
Future Club (Arcade Version) by Perturbator (in bold because this was THE song I listened to on repeat. I believe I gave it to Lindar for inspiration lol)
Arcades by C2C
Wake Me Up by Para One
The First Wish by DROELOE
Les Enfants du Paradis by World’s End Girlfriend
And here are five random songs I played on repeat for In Stars and Time:
Down by Chloe x Halle
Nonsense Bungaku by Eve
Non-Breathe Oblige by PinocchioP
Gentle Heart by Jamie Paige
Ready For The Floor by Hot Chip
It’s interesting, the songs I listened to for the prologue are generally more heavy and frenetic, while the ones for ISAT are more hopeful… I made sure to listen to more lively songs for ISAT, since that’s the feeling I wanted to give off…
That’s all the questions I have! In other, non related ISAT news, I have started a new project and having a lot of fun. It’s a visual novel this time. I’m hoping to get some screenshots ready in the next few months, but also I’m taking it easy on this one. If it takes years with many breaks in between to get it done, it’s fine. What matters to me right now is the process!
That’s all I have to say for today! Let me know if you have any questions, or if there’s any aspect of the game development struggle you’d like me to talk about! See you next time!!!
AND DON’T FORGET TO WISHLIST THE GAME ON STEAM ALSO IT REALLY HELPS BECAUSE STEAM’S ALGORITHM IS MORE LIKELY TO SHOW OFF GAMES WITH A HIGH AMOUNT OF WISHLISTS THAT’S THE REASON WHY GAME DEVS ALWAYS ASK TO WISHLIST!!! OKAY BYE!!!!

Instead of fully being an annoying boomer loser who isn't happy about the new things, I'll make some sort of a masterpost about cool JSR and JSRF information sources and other neat thingies. Probably will be updated if i find anything else worth including.
So, first of all:
•Official websites for JSR and JSRF. JSRF website has an English version, but it's barely archived and doesn't have much information on it anyway. JSR one is really awesome though, a lot of cool tidbits, character bios(they include one new trivia for some characters ) and game tips!!
•A whole bunch of guidebooks, meaning JSR Perfect Guide, JSRF Perfect Guidebook and the JGR Sybex's Official Strategies & Secrets . Only one of them is in English, but they're still useful for maps and Graffiti Soul collecting. If you can read these then even better lol. Keep in mind, that the JSR Perfect Guide only covers the original Japanese release, which is different from the later one's.
• Sexy as hell manuals for JGR, De La JSR, JSR for GBA and JSRF. Always good to know about these.
It's probably the obvious thing that could've been noted, so now to less obvious one's.
•The JSR and JSRF articles on Sega Retro. You probably noticed me linking them for the manuals and whatnot. If you want to find out stuff about these games, this is second best source for it (first one is playing the games lol). But it has some weird statements like saying that Beat is the leader of the GGs, even though it doesn't make any logical sense, and claiming that JSRF is a sequel game, but then also saying that it's not in the actual JSRF article.
While these little things suck, they're completely overshadowed by the sheer amount of fucking information included. Scans, art, documentation of which magazine had articles regarding the games and on which page AND EVERYTHING IS WITH SOURCES AND IMAGES. This is really strong and you'll be there for hours just staring in wonder at all this compiled info.
• JSR Archives. This is a community dedicated for archiving and categorising all the stuff JSR related. One of their members was the one who posted the Sybex guide on the internet.(whoahaaa they got a tumblr FOLLOW THEM!!)
• TCRF article on JGR. While this article wasn't updated in quite some time and is missing a whole bunch of stuff (like the leaked prototypes), it's still a very nice read.
• An extremely really detailed playthrough/guide of JSR. Includes cool trivia like regional differences and instructions for character unlocking.
• A whole bunch of prototypes. I included only those i consider noteworthy, if you wanna get the other's, they're there as well.
• JSRF Inside. A certified hood classic if we're talking about JSRF modding.
• Best source for JSRF speedrunning information.
• Less detailed, but still very useful video guide for unlocking all of the secret JSRF characters.
• Playlist of JSR/JSRF music, and anything related to them, like different remixes and stuff. Read the description for more details. It also has a link to a text document containing a lot of cool trivia about the artist featured in the games and other JSR related media.
• Video with all the dialogue and special interactions in JSRF.
• Kind of a joke entry, but also Hideki Naganuma's twitter account is worth checking out. Not his new tweets, but really old one's. In the past he was more involved with the fanbase and shared some neat trivia. Not related to him but one of the Castle Logical ppl confirmed that the lyrics in Mischievous Boy say "chameleon machine" and it fucks me up so much.
• This goofy ass official IGN guide for JSR. Why i didn't put it with the rest of the official guides? Well, the reason is that the writer for this thing, Aki, is a real silly goose and they decided to spice up some of the character descriptions. While these are probably based on some legitimate information, like Beat being from Fukuoka(which was confirmed by a Beat TUBBZ figurine of all things), you can't trust these due to its silliness. Like they gave DJ K a backstory, which just ruins his whole deal AND contradicts the game manual. They also consistently get the names for locations wrong. As a game guide it's pretty good?? You can use it. Just don't go around calling Gum a "brownface girl" after reading it.
That's everything i can remember so far, hope this helps.

possible cars steve buys for your consideration: 1. 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429 (in yellow!!), 1973 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am SD-455(in dark green!), 1969 ½ Dodge Super Bee A12 (couldn't choose a colour for this one! it comes in orange!!!) or : 1969 Pontiac GTO Judge Convertible! let the boy get an adrenaline rush from something other than fighting monsters!!
Yes! There's as much evidence as the writers care to give us lol, for Steve and Billy being into cars. Which might even in Steve's case explain why he seems to be the designated high speed shenanigans driver. I'm here for it.
It's a shame driver!au's aren't more of a thing. Their both so prime for it. PRIME I tell you. Rival circuit drivers. Or celebrity driver gets called out by punk hobbyist on social media, all "did I just beat your time?" Cue ribbing and teasing each other over twitter. Their followers getting into it, calling for a competition. It writes itself.

camboy taeyo- GETS RAN OVER BY A TRAIN
my god my god my god
he'd sometimes use fleshlights n stuff like that but nothinggg would beat when hes fucking his hand n cums all over his toned abs („• ᴗ •„) n he'd tease his audience sooo much ! being all cocky n mostly in a dom mood ,, but the most fun streams of his r the ones where hes more subby :( begging n whining n trying sooo hard not to come too early bc being this vulnerable in front of an audience makes him more sensitive n turned on •v• camboy tyoungie i fucking love u thats it
and and and and
roommate!taeyoung who also works as a camboy to have some extra money to spend on himself . u dont know abt it , u just assume hes rlly loud n horny all the time - which, hey, u cant rlly blame him for it - but u do question if hes that loud bc he wants u to hear him ,, if only u knew how ur guess isn't that far fetched , taeyoung having to keep himself from moaning ur name everytime he streams, touching himself to the thought of u - on top of him or under him , anywhere , he doesn't care , just thinking abt u is enough . and if only he knew how u took an habit of touching urself at the same time, ur bed being conveniently against the wall confining with his room .. u dont even worry abt taeyoung hearing u , you pride yourself in being on the quieter side - you really aren't and taeyoung anxiously checks if his mic is picking up on ur sounds every single time he hears u . until one eventful day - while taeyoung is out at the gym or something - u realize oh shit , u r unbelievably horny n ur personal jerk off material isn't home ,, u r so desperate , nothing you find on twitter or even those shitty porn sites seems to do the job , it's almost like you've conditioned yourself to only feel good bc of taeyoung </3 at some point , doom scrolling ur twitter tl u come across an account u follow promoting their ,, streaming channel on some obscure website that sounds like a scam . no its definitely a scam . you've never had that much of an interest in this kind of content , but you figure at this point u could try anything to get rid of how unbearably horny u r . again, nothing of what you're seeing piques your interest, until u see the thumbnail of a specific vod from a few days prior. despite being darker, you can still realize the room looks eerily similar to yours - to taeyoung's. u shake ur head, giving yourself a few slaps for good measure and whispering to yourself to 'fucking snap out of it', there's no way you're so down bad for ur roommate u r starting to imagine him as one of these camboys. no way. but u still cant fight the urge to click on the video, maybe the resemblance to taeyoung is what can get u to finally feel good . you hurriedly put your oh so beloved noise canceling headphones on and turn the volume up. that's when your heart sinks and u freeze, hand stopping halfway inside your shorts bc holy shit that sounds a little too much like taeyoung, n u r now a hundred percent sure u saw those same bedsheets in his room four days ago - coincidentally the same day this was streamed, and yes thats his shirt, the one that always drives u insane bc he looks a little too good in it .... before u know it , you're on ur third vod of his , basically binge watching all of his past streams and on the verge of tears with how much you've been overstimulating yourself . you're so lost in it u dont realize taeyoung has come back home around the midst of 2nd video or so , and knows exactly what ur up to when he hears u moaning his name . poor boy is fighting the urge to just burst into your room , telling himself it wouldn't be morally right to do so - as if jerking off to the thought of his roommate while streaming or standing right by their door as he starts to slowly palm himself over his pants while listening to you getting off is any more decent ,,
this might stay ur little secret , both too shy to confront each other abt it ,, or maybe taeyoung will just have to wait for a repeat of that day to catch you red handed and finally get what he's been craving for weeks („• ᴗ •„)

Engagement 101: The basics
Sp's resources for Content Creators Materialist
Not to beat a dead horse but this has been brewing in my brain for months and I can't hold it in any longer, considering there are now people here for Twitter I feel the need to reiterate what has been said a million times. Content creators need engagement if you want them to post on a regular basis.
A few points first.
Hearts are good but they mostly just let someone know you stopped by.
Comments are wonderful and can make someone day. They don't need to be long or make sense, I like a string on letters or emojis just as much as I like long comments. It's just that I will return to long comments when I'm feeling down about my writing or need some motivation.
Reblogs are what get people's work out there, if you're going to reblog, do it with tags. One or two is fine.
Here are some general guidelines, these are based on my own feelings but any writer/content creators that see this are welcome to add to it.
First and foremost, we are not robots that churn out content for you. Asking when something will be updated but not engaging otherwise is a good way to make someone like you don't value them. This is the same with requests, the bare minimum is a please and a thank you. Sending the character with a prompt or scenario and nothing else feels like a demand.
Spam liking is great but if someone goes through all my stuff and never says anything, it's kinda strange because I have no idea why you're here. Did you read it? Are you saving it?
Follow the rules of someone's prompt/request list. It feels pretty shitty when I put in the rules "you must comment and/or reblog", and the person uses the loophole of doing a blank reblog and nothing else. I shouldn't have to explain every single thing, it should be assumed that if I'm doing something for you, you let me know you liked it.
There is a difference between giving constructive feedback and just being an ass. @withmyteeth gave me some advice in a DM and @darklydeliciousdesires gave me some advice when she reblog the request I made for her, this greatly helped me, and I'm now going through and fixing my mistakes. If you want to give feedback, remember that most people do this do it for fun, and some of them have different brains from you. Don't ick someone's yum by being a dick about it.
Similarly, be nice. We are people and if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all.
Respect when someone says their requests are closed, most people make it pretty clear.
Don't steal shit, if fucking sucks and I've seen content creators leave because of theft.
Similarly, don't read or talk about anything on another platform without asking first. if I found out someone was reading my stuff on TikTok, I would have a heart attack.
This might be the most important one. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR OWN MEDIA CONSUMPTION AND YOUR TIME ONLINE, BLOCK PEOPLE YOU DON'T LIKE AND MOVE ON.

I am not at all qualified to make this post so obviously I will be making it. Basically I've noticed something with how men vs women and queer ppl consume shonen manga.
When I'm on tumblr and ao3 I mostly see women and queer ppl post about manga but on tiktok I see mostly (straight) men. And I see a lot of difference between what they usually want for characters (especially strong ones)
I'm gonna focus on jujutsu kaisen cuz it was this manga that made it finally click in my head. What ppl want for characters and the story is usually directly tied to their identity especially gender identity and ofc the patriarchy.
I'll start with the example that gave me this lightbulb moment: on twitter and tumblr (where I curate my feed btw which makes a huge difference since i follow mainly non-men) I see ppl wanting gojo to essentially have an emotional breakdown or go thru some type of pain and go berserk out of the emotional heartbreaking pain of losing his loved ones or being forced to kill them.
Then on tiktok (where I look thru my fyp so I don't really curate my feed so any manga type videos come up and they're mixed with videos of men) I see alot about who would win in a fight between sukuna and gojo. About who would "dog walk" the other. A LOT about fighting and violence and killing. (In my head I'm thinking why the solution is always straight to killing the other person? Idk writers can get creative with endings that don't contain just straight up killing characters)
This got me thinking: why are ppl so obsessed with the fight and the violence? Then I'm like: well it's a shonen that's the genre. But then that would mean almost everyone who consumes shonen would have similar thoughts. But like I pointed out in the example, that's not the case. Why do the men focus so much on the violence and the women and queers focus on the drama and emotion? The character and their relationships?
Then it hit me: it's about PROJECTION. About living vicariously thru these characters. Men project themselves on these powerful characters and live out their fantasies of being strong, powerful, violent with no one who can get in their way or beat them. It's why they get so offended when ppl bring up other characters that can or can't beat the character they have projected onto.
Women and queer ppl focus on the emotion because we project ourselves and live our fantasies: to essentially breakdown (think female rage?) Essentially in our lives we are often the ones who do the emotional heavy lifting. Ones who are taught to keep quiet or be the bigger person or look the other way. Our emotions are used against us. But when we project ourselves to characters like gojo who has a ton on his shoulders, who has to do everything, we want him to breakdown and cry and rage cuz WE can't do that. It's our way of releasing our need to breakdown and rage, by living vicariously thru him. Often times after this breakdown we want another character to comfort them. For them to be the one to take care of things for once so our character (us) can take a break.
And I notice we project onto male characters and I think there's 3 reasons for this. Male characters are usually better written cuz they are at the focus of shonen so there's more of them we can attach ourselves to. 2nd reason is cuz they're male and it feels like they're "allowed" to emote without having backlash (tho that's not really the case usually. Like if gojo had a breakdown he wouldn't have been seen as weak or ridiculed but if someone else, usually a girl or a male written more softly like modoriya from mha, they would be ridiculed cuz thats "weak". All this would me coming from the men in the fandom too cuz they can't project onto a "weak" character) 3rd reason is cuz we can take a character that men would make into this "alpha man strong" and turn him human. Have him be realistic and have emotions, something we rarely see in real life cuz u know the patriarchy and men can't be emotional unless it's anger etc.
But anyways so that's what I have noticed and being a woman in fandom is a different experience. Usually a good one cuz fandom was created by women and we are the biggest fan content creators when it comes to Fanfic and fanart. Even some of the best analysis I've seen come from non-men. And I'm often on platforms where majority are women and queer and I curate my experience so when I get to places like tiktok or YouTube comments it's like my little bubble popping and I'm reminded of the different ppl in fandom. There are men on our sides of fandom with thinning more aligned to what I have described as what women usually think! But for this post I'm talking majority.
Anyways idk if this made sense but I wanna know what others think, I'm very interested and curious about this topic

You know, with Tim fans like you who needs haters? I mean, do you actually like the character? And don’t give me “it’s not that deep”, fans like you make it easy for his actual haters to be louder and that leads to the writers thinking it’s okay to have him get beat up in the books. Cause who actually likes him anyway? Not expecting a response, you’re probably just gonna delete this ask anyway, but this fandom is so fucked up sometimes. I miss when Tim fans actually liked him.
so I’m gonna give you benefit of the doubt on a few things here like: assuming that you haven’t read the Task Force Z issue thus don’t know that the scene I was talking about was… kinda treated as a comedic moment?
Tumblr media
(Task Force Z #8)
Like… Jason’s being quippy this whole scene even as he’s doing it, Tim’s dialogue is written non-standardly to show he’s talking funny, and then Jason just hits him again instead of responding. And the follow up later is, again, a comedic moment:
Tumblr media
(Task Force Z #8)
Laughing at these things and then sending them to my friends because I think it’s funny is uh… kinda the intent? With funny moments? Like it’s dark humor sure, but still.
Plus, this issue had Tim, Cass, and Dick all get beaten by Jason for at least a little bit during the fight- it’s Jason’s book, he’s the one who’s gonna win and do the cool stuff no matter how little sense it might make. It’s really not a Tim-specific thing in this case. Like, not everything’s about him 🤷‍♂️
And second, i’m assuming that you either don’t follow me and just saw the post I made that got reblogged, or you just have not followed me for a long time. Because otherwise you asking if I ‘actually like the character’ is just… so ridiculous to me.
Like, I feel I’ve made it abundantly clear on here exactly how much I adore Tim Drake. The amount of essay length posts i’ve written, questions about his character and history i’ve answered, spreadsheets i’ve made, art I’ve drawn, fic i’ve written, and action figures I own is a testament to that.
But that also means I like to make fun of him sometimes- and yeah that includes laughing at times of comedic violence he’s on the receiving end of because these are comic books which use violence in ways that real life doesn’t.
Anyways. I am one random person, and jokes I make genuinely do not have as big an impact on… anything as you seem to think. People are gonna hate Tim regardless of anything I say or do and like, people are allowed to do that! Especially anything on tumblr is gonna have such a negligible impact on actual comic books. Like twitter there’s maybe more of an argument to make since more creators are actually on there… but I didn’t even make that joke on twitter.
The joke about it that I made on twitter was more specific rather than general laughing at it- saying that Jason doing this was payback for Battle for the Cowl, when Tim had hit Jason with a crowbar.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Task Force Z #8, Batman: Battle for the Cowl #2)
Soooo. Yeah. I know you said not to say “it’s not that deep” but I really truly disagree with ya on that, and feel it… genuinely isn’t! It isn’t. If I was only ever saying mean things about Tim while claiming to be a fan I think that’d be different, but considering that is just… super not what happens on any of my accounts, this just feels like you’re getting mad over nothing.

my beloved rory,
the stupid shit we discuss on discord... do you know how many times youve cracked me tf up PLEASE stop sending me screenshots of people acting abnormal on tiktok. i was in bed when u sent that shit about maladaptive daydreaming and i had to SIT UP and process what happened. im glad we've been partners for so long, we've rly been through a lot together and in retrospect...? it was funny. lord have . . . . . mercy .
writing with u rly does bring out the best in me as a creator, because a lot of my best lines came out of our threads. and having u be someone that can really bring characters to life makes me want to be better as a writer. ur one of those writers that has always had me be like ' daaaaamn that's the best thing i've read in months ' and sometimes its intimidating. your taste in muses, whether they be canon or ocs, and the topics that u touch on is a unique experience. its just one of those things i cant explain, ppl just have to follow u to experience it!
and on a side note with serious topics like war crimes, ure very respectful and u use a light-handed approach thats rly easy to fuck up but then again ur a history buff and a knowledgeable one at that so thats not surprising, it's ur bread and butter.
anyway we have so much fun and also when we talk about serious topics like current events and such, its just as enjoyable. in a different way.... u get what i mean . . . anyway, i will never talk politics w. people in general because im always prepared for an icicle take from twitter and short form videos by people under the age of 30 with only enough brain power to halfway charge an AAA battery.
ur just cool as fuck rory im very glad we're in each other's orbit!!!
also thank u for giving vi dynamics where he's a certified hater. i love writing hater!vi because that's when he's funny g;lkfdsgdf. vi's always at his best when someone disgusts him and he wants to beat them to death with a hammer.

Well I've put off this moment as long as possible because I've had this account since 2012, but now it's inevitable because people are starting to use tumblr with the impending death of twitter.
Omg hiii *-* welcome to my blog 😇! He's horrible and dreadful, you'll probably detest him. ☠
👻🌈 About me 👻🌈
You can call me All (short for Allana which I haven't used in a good 7 years but it's the perfect year to come back with that nickname). My pronouns are she/he, I am a cis bisexual woman, with ADHD (diagnosed by 3 PROFESSIONALS so don't come and fill my bag with crap like "ah you don't look it, ah you are normal, ah how do you live?". I say this because I had a false negative for ASD and it was HORRIBLE, if I have to go through it again, I hope I can at least beat up the people who said it and not over the internet). I am 25 years old and this tumblr is meant to share horror stuff (apart from motivational posts of dubious origin). I live in Brazil, am a writer and have a cat named Astra. I love chatting with crazy people on the internet and every jam I get into is because of that! My jokes are not funny and I have the largest catalogued cultural repertoire, second only to the character Hannibal Lecter. 👻🌈
🚫🚫🚫🚫 If you are:
Intolerant, misogynist, capacitist, etharist, bully, Nazifascist, anarcho-capitalist, incel, pedophile, prejudiced, disrespect age regression, practice any attack on ANY letter of the LGBTQIAPN+ community, spread false information and news OR are under 18, IMMEDIATELY REMOVE THE FOLLOW because I don't want you here. 🚫🚫🚫🚫
🧛‍♀‍ If you are sensitive to:
- blood
- kidnapping
- ghosts
- dark
- light
- moral issues
- depressing phrases
- NSFW
- BDSM
- gore
- terror
- horror
- drugs
- multilation
I recommend you not to follow me. 🧛‍♀‍
This recommendation is because I notice a few profiles following me that are pastel goth and occasionally I end up reblogging that content, as well as beautiful beaches, sunny sunshine, and fluffy stuff. The majority content on this tumblr is still pretty gore from the dark (although I am cute occasionally). This is a problem with age regression followers, for example. I have no intention of changing the editorial policy of this blog or adapting the content in that regard, so it's at your own risk. 🧛‍♀‍🧸
🧞 If you occasionally need content accessibility, please feel free to shout in my ask. Tumblr is the least accessible social network in the universe right now and although I sometimes try to caption photos, or make the job easier, I end up giving up in the middle. It would be nice to have some support in that regard (go All in, you can do it!!). 🧞
🦇 Don't be alarmed if I read you profile for 2h to 3h hours and come up with posts of yours from 2016. I see every account that follows or reblogs me to see if it's safe for me to follow back or reblog something. If I follow you, it means you are a cool and safe tumblr (to the extent of my safety which is as high, rocky and cold). 🦇
🎃My ask is always open to all people, but I confess I've been more famous on this tumblr to the point where I get asks every day. Feel free to ask about anything! 🎃

*shaking your hand SO enthusiastically* OP, my buddy. my mutual who doesn't know you're my mutual, I actually only just found your blog today lmao, but all I needed to see was "silly fic writer??? check! likes Leaf??? check! surprise mention of Pokemon-based idioms? check! makes rare pair ships? unexpected check for something that wasn't even on the list. gets comment over sfw works?? oh FEEL that. It's a concern of mine." I don't have many unique idioms, but maybe you'll like one of them for your list. I think you have the usual, "Speak of Giratina" and "Holy Lugia" "Tauros Crap" maybe "Hurricane Kingdra" or "Curl of the Aipom's Paw" "Let Sleeping Ursaring Lie" "Jumping Jumpluff" "Into the Seviper's Den" "Don't Count Your Torchic Before They Hatch" "They've Gone Mankey" "Ekan's Oil Salesman" "Copperajah in the Room" "You're the Combee's knees" "I'll Keep Beating This Dead Rapidash until the Milktank Come Home" "Krookodile Tears" "The Skitty is Out of the Bag" "You'll be Sleeping with the Feebas" "Don't go on a wild Far-Fetched Chase" "Bite the Bullet Seed" "Mankey See, Mankey Do" "Pull a Buneary Out of A Hat" "Grin Mareepishly" "Don't Act like Such a Shuppet" "Bigger Magikarp to Fry" "The Best Thing Since Sliced Fidough/Slowpoke Tail" "Luvdisc on your Sleeve" "Wish Upon a Minior" "I Smell a Raticate" "Voltorb's in Your Court" Twitter = Chatot. "A Blissey in Disguise" "Wanna play Amoongus?"
Tumblr media
(I don't have a handshake sticker so this will have to do-)
Well, welcome to my blog, anonymous asker! This is my main blog, but this silly fic writer is going to post all her future Pokémon fics onto a sideblog. There's nothing there as of the moment, but a character page for the female protagonists is in the works, as well as the previously mentioned four-act LA fic.
But yes! I love Leaf! I adore all of the female protagonists truly, but I have a sort of special bond with her since FireRed was one of the first games in the series I played, after Ruby. I was deeply disappointed when she wasn't the one up on Mt. Silver in HGSS instead of Red, for those who played as Kotone/Lyra.
I could talk about my AU's incarnation of Leaf for a very long time. Some of my friends here have seen me do so.
And oh, do I have some rare pairs! I have pairs that are so rare, I'm the one who had to concoct a '-shipping' name! Wieldershipping is one of them since everyone else was using 'Volokari' for some reason, instead of following fandom tradition.
And to close this ask off, here's a few more Pokémon-based idioms from The Document:
The Copperajah in the room
Jumping the Sharpedo
Busy as a Combee
Like a Dustox to a flame
Crying Totodile tears
Taking a Tauros by the horns
Packed like Wishiwashi
Making a mountain out of a Diglett hill
Bullying a Dragon-type
And finally,
"I know this is a joke, but just remember that if you go knocking on enough doors asking to see The Renegade, eventually it may answer."

A recent For Your Consideration interview with Phil Dunster of Ted Lasso.
Not my interview, obviously. A transcript of the audio is below, but first, I wanted to say something about why I’ve shared this on Tumblr this way.
One of Phil's "for your consideration" interviews from this week was posted as audio only, embedded after a blurb in a short article. A lot of the stuff Phil says is really interesting and thoughtful, but while listening to him is fun, this is not great, format wise, for a few reasons. Videos are engaging to watch and usually have fairly accurate auto-captions. Written text is quick and easy to read. Audio only is just about the hardest format to consume, especially when it’s randomly embedded in a web page, not the point of the content, like a podcast.
The point of these specific interviews is to have stuff to share with Emmy voters and showcase his work. His PR people will be collecting them, pulling quotes and the like for when they put him up "for your consideration". So this guy was granted a long exclusive interview and he did not deliver back something they can actually use to help Phil in the awards season.
This is annoying enough, on a work principle. Hardcore fandom people - of which actually there aren't many, on a wider scale, for Ted Lasso, let alone for Jamie - will listen to this, yes, but any quotes from Phil in this won’t be findable or searchable or referencable or easily digestible for the people it’s meant to show Phil off to, voters who will likely be looking at the work of hundreds of actors pre-nomination. They are not going to sit down and listen to 20 minutes of audio-only for this one guy. If they already like him enough to do that, they’re not the target audience, because they’re already “sold” on him. So all in all, it's a pretty useless piece of press considering its intended goal.
But then I asked the guy if he would be adding a transcript or any written element, because I also had concerns about accessibility, for deaf people or people with auditory processing issues. His response was shockingly rude and dismissive, especially for someone with a fairly small site with minimal Twitter followers, so I got pissed off and decided that I would reupload his audio here - he's made it downloadable - and do my own transcript. Because transcripts are not hard to create, there are many free automatic ways to do it, that just need a manual clean up for any robot errors. And now, people who want to get into this content from Phil can read it or listen to it, at least in the fandom, without giving that guy more hits. Petty? Maybe, but sometimes that's satisfying!
I'm not going to link to the original webpage, but Phil shared it the other day, and the name of the site is in the audio conversation, that's all the credit he gets for his extremely poor effort both for Phil and for readers! It’s very disappointing, because the same site did a great written interview with Phil last season — from a different journalist. The guy who did this one is the website’s editor in chief, he admittedly got into Ted Lasso very late, and it seems that he’s poached this Ted Lasso PR beat from the former writer, who provided good coverage last year.
Transcript below the cut.
Interviewer: Thank you again for doing this.
Phil Dunster: Thank you for having me.
Interviewer: Oh, it's my pleasure. As I was telling you, I came to the show a little late, but I'm a huge fan. It's funny to watch the show evolve because, you know, every character I think is different than they started, but yours especially has, I think, one of the more compelling narratives. Because, you know, there really are no villains in the show, but if there was a guy who was harder to like, it might have been you. I mean I'm sure there are people who are like, no, [you were] my favourite immediately, but I mean, when everyone else is largely radiating warmth and we have someone, you know, more at arm's length, there's something to watching the evolution. And it feels so natural, and I'm sure a lot of it's on the page, but how do you get that character from point A to point B? Because I'm sure you have to get really into "Okay this guy's nothing like me, but I have to really find the like, you know, I have to be a dick superstar." Like okay, we know those people, but we're not usually those people.
Phil Dunster: The haircuts, you know, there's just so many of those, how do you keep up with them? That's the hard thing, right.
Yes, I think that he is different from me in many ways. Firstly, his footballing ability. I am nowhere near as good as he is, but yeah I mean… I guess it's, you know, without getting too Inside The Actor Studio, I think it's probably about intention and probably about the cause of [why he's] acting in a certain way. And I think for me, it was about finding the common ground. I imagine it is for most actors, about finding the common ground between them and the character they're trying to play, you know, [finding] experience that I've had that might be similar to what Jamie's had. And whilst I can't say that I've ever been sort of plucked from obscurity and been chosen to be a sort of superstar athlete at that age, there are certain human elements to Jamie's story which I think that a lot of people can relate to in terms of, you know, his…I guess people's struggles with ego and his  understanding of fitting into group dynamics and things with family.
And I think that… I think that nothing in the show exists within a vacuum, and I think Jamie is the way he is because of XYZ and we obviously go into that through the seasons - particularly in season 2 - and we see more of it in season 3, as with all characters I think. So as you say, a lot of it is on the page, and they do it so very well… they lay down the background of these people and so you understand why you love them.
There's a line in season 2 when we meet Rebecca's mum and Ted says something like "I love meeting people's parents, it's like an instruction manual for why they're crazy." And I think that... I probably butchered the line, apologies to any super Tedheads out there…and I think that's it. I think that we see the instruction manuals for each of these characters, and Jamie's sort of really is his dad, you know, coming right at you. Particularly in that scene in season 2 when he has… he clashes with him in a way that's… in a way he never has done before in his life.
Interviewer: As an actor I imagine it's got to be fulfilling because, other roles, it's a small scene in a movie and like, sure, I can leave an impression, but any of the work I'm doing is not going to be… I don't want to say appreciated, but an audience member and like, Megan Levy is not going to know what's going on in your character's head, because that's not where the focus is, but with a show - and especially with a show where you know you're one of the main characters and you're able to progress over two now three and hopefully more seasons - you can sort of do the work and then have people see the work and that's gotta feel good, because it's not in a vacuum. It's very much like "I'm taking this character on a journey and I want you guys to notice and feel it and approve or or disapprove or just to feel for my character." It's got to be a different connection?
Phil Dunster: Yeah, yeah and particularly when you see Jamie… Trying to figure out what clothes to wear, you know… that's the thing…it's an actor's exercise anyway. Like,  what jacket would he be wearing? What tie would he be wearing? But yeah, I think that is true and I think that there's ridiculous sort of background that actors do for those one lines, because they have to. Because in order to make it believable and lived in, for the audience to see, I think they have to sort of feel like there's lots going on. Jason talks about if you — he was telling me about this character that he had, that he realized somebody had said to him — you make the characters…when their involvement isn't long, you need to make them deep. And so you can have all these little bits that you have that just make the audience, trick the audience into believing that they have their own world going on.
And I think that was a really good nugget of advice, that there's always something  going on in this person's life. And I think it is really nice with Jamie, we get to see that, but you know, you only really see these snippets, and there has to be all of the connecting lines in between these dots that we see in the scenes as well. But yes, it is a huge shift for me to be able to do that on a show like this and get to play out the conversations that otherwise I would have to have in my own mind. Effectively, the writers just do a lot of the work for me because I just get to turn up and you know the writing is so good, you could be like "Great, yeah, yeah totally makes sense, great."
Interviewer: “You guys wrote me something good, you guys dressed me in something weird, I'm set. I gotta stand here, look at attractive people and then I get paid all right. We can do this.”
Phil Dunster: That's it, yeah, that's it! But to be fair, they do such a… and particularly with Jamie, he's so different, looks-wise and clothes-wise and like, vibe-wise there, it is, you're right that's it in a nutshell really.
Interviewer: I mean the writing does a really great job of… even though you know Jamie's less involved in the narrative for a bit at times, and then there are other characters who have the same situation, you never get a sense that they're not evolving, you never get a sense that they're not doing something, so when they come back into the forefront, it never feels like, well were they just sort of standing in the corner? I always imagine — my grandfather used to joke that when he left the house, his cat used to think he stood outside the whole time, because it, you know, didn't really understand the concept of going to work or something, so you just stood in the hallway for six to twelve hours. A bad show, if a character's not there for three or four episodes, I feel like you kind of feel that they're just standing off screen, if you didn't know what to do with them. Especially with Jamie, it's, well he was on a different team, that journey is something completely different and we'll hint at it, but you can kind of extrapolate because the writing hints at it and your performance hints at it. It's really interesting, because especially if you have any sports interest, you know what happens when a player you follow goes somewhere else, you keep tabs for a little bit but then inevitably, like, well, in a way "Fuck him he's not there", and then if he comes back "Oh shit, I love him again, it's great."
Phil Dunster: Yeah totally! And again, it's ways of dropping that in that feel organic whilst also moving. Again, it's technically, I think it's a very well written show because those things are buried, so that you don't… you're not, as an audience, you're not like "Oh well, they've mentioned their name again, that's odd." They've managed to do that very well. But yeah, I think that it's woven into the script really well, that those characters are always progressing in some way, shape or form. But yeah, even to me though, it's strange. I don't get to see a lot, being in the team, you don't get to see a lot of the background staff, I don't act with a lot of the background staff, but it's funny, reading the script you always know what's going on behind the scenes, and so you can sort of extrapolate bits from like, bits of conversation within the scenes that we're having, to sort of track, as the character, “What do I know about… what do I know…”
Interviewer: No, it's true, it's like it's one of those things where you want to know enough of what's going on, but you also don't necessarily want to. I don't know that too much is the wrong word, but I mean, I would imagine just when you get the role first off for season 1, like you don't necessarily know where this is gonna go, you're trusting the writing, you know, you're reading the character thinking, okay this is the guy, and maybe they tell you like here's the artwork we're sort of planning, but you know by this point,  I'm sure it's developed in a way that's similar in some ways and different in some ways. And it's being open and being lucky enough that the writing is good that you're not like “Oh shit, I have to play this guy now like… I got to find a way to be into this,” you know? I would imagine you're as into it, if not more.
Phil Dunster: 100% and I think what's really good about what they do is they…as an audience member, and also separately as someone who is in it, you feel they make the audience feel really smart, as writers. And I think it's in a really clever way where you go "I didn't know what it looked like, but I knew something like that was going to happen, and I feel really smart for having expected that, because it's been… everything's been leading us to this moment." You know? Be it the, I don't know, be it sort of big moments of when they get promoted again or even when they get relegated, and the moments that we see with Keeley and Roy, the comings and goings that they have. We feel like it's perfectly structured for this to happen, and yet we're really pleasantly surprised by it. And the same goes for the evolution of Jamie. I mean, I speak for myself, but when you get the scripts through, you go "Ah that's really smart and it totally makes sense that this is going this way" or actually, sometimes you're like "I don't know, I don't quite see what this… where this is leading to", but because time and time again before it's been like, “Oh yeah, that's been resolved really nicely, you feel like, you know you feel safe with it? So sometimes you just gotta sit back and relax, you know?
Interviewer: Because you're balancing actor instincts, you're balancing just interest in the show like, you know, “I like it, I want it to keep going, I enjoy money, I enjoy being able to buy things, so let's not fuck this up,” but also, you know, you want to do right by your character. And I'm sure as you're reading it you're like “Okay this is great,” but yeah, you could say like "Oh this character is going in this direction, well, how is that going to influence things down the line?" Because you have an investment in this and you, like you said, you trust that they haven't really done anything wrong yet, so if I'm puzzled by this or this isn't what I would do, I have a weird feeling — give it a second and see what happens. Because also, even if that's not intellectually what you would do, it might be, you know, as an actor, just an interesting new exercise and suddenly you're like “Oh well, this is different than I was planning on doing, and cool, now I'm just… I'm in a different, you know, thought process. I'm in my head a little differently and the performance is now different and suddenly I've added to this,” and that's fulfilling in a different way.
Phil Dunster: Yeah, they're incredibly… Once they know exactly where it's going, they are incredibly collaborative as well.  There's always the sort of, you know, they're always sort of throwing over to you for your little, like eight bar jazz solo, and then you're straight back into it. And it feels like they trust you to just, you know, have those… that little bit of time, of freedom, but yeah, as you say, it's… I mean, predominantly my thought process whenever I'm working on any job is trying not to fuck up so much that I get kicked off, but you know it's A-Listers, you know, anything can happen.
Interviewer: I think you're in a safe spot now, which, you know, is not a small deal. I mean, working actors, there's something about like “Okay, I've reached a level where I'm pretty sure I can continue to work.” Like, that's a big deal, like what percentage of actors even reached that point? Let alone the next level, the next level, the next level, you know? You're sitting there, and I'm sure Jason looks at people and is like "Wow, what a huge movie star," but you look at him and go “What a massive star.” Like, how do you reach that summit and the idea of just like, as you get higher and higher, there's less and less people doing it. There's something to like taking a minute and you know, whether it's Emmy attention, whether it's awards, whether it's critical acclaim, just people, you know, whatever the thing is that makes you feel like "I did a good job," you know?  Knowing that it's there, and then when this is over, there'll be another thing like, “I'm not gonna have to worry about waiting tables,” there's something there like… “I've made it,” such a cliched word, but “I've reached a point where I'm an actor. It's not a thing I do, well, I hope. I'm an actor. I'm an actor,” and I think you know, for the last handful of years, it's been that way for you, but I think the show really hammers that home in a fundamental way.
Phil Dunster: That's a really lovely, lovely sentiment man, I really appreciate that and I know exactly what you mean. I think, having worked as an actor for the last 10 years and done the whole gamut of like, you know, working with no money in the bank, and all that sort of stuff, I will sort of resolutely stay as cynical as I possibly can about where the industry is, and so I will always believe that there will, you know… but I think that what — and there is a wonderful thing of, you know, it seems the show has sort of struck a chord with people, when it feels like being a part of that, being, on that wave on ship Ted Lasso, it feels really lovely, that after having, as I say, been acting for the last 10 years or so, knocking on doors, it seems that to collectively, to everybody — and it's great to see your mates to be coming up, you know, we've been working together for two and a half years now, these are… this is my family — and seeing these things happen for people is wonderful. And, you know look, hopefully some more stuff comes. I've loved doing… there's a show that I've got coming out called The Devil's Hour which I'm really excited about doing. Just being able to do stuff like that, being able to do weird and silly and stupid and difficult painful characters is what I really want to do. It's what I love to do, and you know, if it means that I get to continue doing that, then that's great. That sounds great, man.
Interviewer: Well that's a great way to wrap up, because that's, I think, what we want, like what else do we want, when we see someone that we like in a show that we like, except keep doing it and do different things, you know. Like be weird, be funny, be heart-breaking, get to play the range of emotions, because we've already decided we want to watch you in things collectively as an audience. And I think everyone in the cast is getting that, you know. I've loved Juno Temple for years, since like movies that six people saw, and now to watch her in this and see her go on to The Offer and then know like… Okay she was talking, a couple of weeks ago I talked to her about The Offer, and she was like "I can say no to things now and like, it's mean, you know? You don't want to say no, but also the idea of I can wait til something's perfect or I can choose between two things, you don't always have that, and to then have that is this, you know, very specific to the acting world comfort of ‘I'm wanted,’ and you know you're a human being, who doesn't want to be wanted?" And, it's just… it's great to see.
Phil Dunster: I tell you what, it is. And it's amazing to be with those people who have been through the ringer a few times. And obviously, you know, you've got Jason there, and then Brett who I spend a lot of time with, you know, they've been around the block a couple of times, and Juno and Hannah and Jeremy, like, it's really good… Jason talks about having ‘uncles and aunties,’ and I think that he, you know, that's sort of people that he would have met along the way when he was at school and I think that he… that there are those people in this cast, for me, that I find incredibly… that their advice is priceless, and I thank god for them.
Interviewer: Oh yeah, because at the end of the day, what else do you have besides are you happy with the work? Are you happy with the people you spend time with? Like, if you're not happy why do it? Like, because it's such a good job. If you can't find the joy, you know, are you gonna be happy doing something else?
Phil: You're right, yeah, I feel very very grateful for it and yeah, yeah. Thanks for listening to “This Time with Brene Brown” and…
Interviewer: Exactly, right? Well, thank you so much for doing this. I love the show. I love you in it. I can't wait to see what comes next and I also just want to see what happens after because who doesn't want to follow someone exciting? And also, you're a good dude so why not?
Phil: Thank you mate, I look forward to chatting again. Good luck with, uh, Miley.
Interviewer: Oh yeah. I love that every interview I've done today has said that afterwards. It's almost making me a little nervous.
Phil: It'll be great fun… listen, it will be nothing if not interesting.
Interviewer: Exactly! Words to go out on! Thank you so much.  Phil: Big love man, thanks so much. Cheerio, bye-bye!

Well, it was Penders shenanigans who forced Sega to step in so I don't blame them for watching the comics like hawks.
I don't like Penders at all—I think he's a petty, misogynistic creep and a bad artist to boot—but I think it's reductive to blame it all on him.
First, he wasn't the only writer on Archie who got up to some nonsense back in the day. I won't pretend to be an expert on Archie by any means, since I've only read two issues myself (one where Sonic got mind controlled for an issue and beat up his friends, the other was the Sally/Nicole stargazing one because I'm gay), so everything I know about it, I know via osmosis, mostly thanks to the ThanksKenPenders liveblogs. But I do know that Penders was only the lead writer on Archie for a certain amount of time, and that there were other writers after and I think before him. Penders is the most infamous because of the lawsuits and because he has a chronic case of Can't Shut The Fuck Up Disorder that constantly rears its ugly head on twitter, but he's not the only one that got up to some bullshit in the Archie comics. He's just the most notorious.
Second, while Sega undoubtedly started laying down more mandates once they finally started paying attention to what the Archie comics were doing (e.g. I've heard it was because of that cover with Sonic crying that Sega was like "no, don't show our hero in distress in that way"), it's to be honest standard fare for companies to pay close attention to how their license is used and it's stranger that Sega wasn't paying attention back in the 90s than it is that they are paying attention now. Like for example, Nintendo is notorious for how strict they are with their IPs, but they're far from the only ones. Hasbro has oversight with Transformers and My Little Pony, in both comics and cartoons. Disney controls portrayal of Mickey Mouse in any licensed games that are made. Part of why Voltron: Legendary Defender was such a mess is because of fighting between the writing staff and the desires of the brand executives, so on and so forth. The fact that Sega was so hands-off with Archie is an exception for how licensed properties are handled, not the rule, and my guess would be that there was some sort of leadership change within Sega that made whoever got put in charge step in and fix things.
So it makes sense for Sega to closely scrutinize what goes into the IDW comics, to make sure that it's promoting a positive representation of Sonic and the franchise as a whole. It's what pretty much every other license holder would do when it comes to a licensed work. The sun would burn out before Nintendo would let someone run roughshod with a Mario comic*, and the same with Disney and Mickey Mouse. I think it's fair and just that Sega protects Sonic in the same way, especially since the IDW team has proven that they can still produce very good comics even with the mandates in place.
(*In fact, Archie actually pitched the idea of a Mario comic to Nintendo, which would have been written by Ian Flynn. Nintendo of America approved it, but Nintendo of Japan said no, so the project was scrapped. Nintendo is very protective over their IPs, and I think it's good that Sega has started following in a similar example with Sonic.)

Musk and Twitter imploding
Twitter has been my main platform for nearly a decade, now that Elon Musk has taken over the company, fired countless people, and is likely to start charging people for verification (which comes with perks), this platform is going to implode.
I foresee more people leaving in droves, advertisers backing out, and not being able to see anyone who does not have a blue check. This fucking sucks on so many levels. Putting up “pay walls” to keep the little creators, small businesses, and self-published authors like me from being seen and promoting anyone willing to line his pockets with $8 a bloody month.
His claims to it “helping” are nothing short of delusional nonsense and Horrible business sense. He has not seen nor does he understand the amount of which he is fucking things over. And all RIGHT BEFORE A US ELECTION! Hmm, one could only speculate that he’s doing this for political reasons.
I hate politics and generally don’t speak out about this bullshit, but I genuinely don’t want to lose that platform. It’s where I have my largest following, though Tiktok is a few hundred followers away from beating that.
Anyhow, that is my small, researched and voiced view on the matter. it seriously sucks to see this tank, but maybe the writers of twitter can start a new company. One that won’t pull this bull.

So, how about a Kantaro Misuji x reader. So basically, a friend invites a shy and introverted reader to a Visty concert. While meeting their fans, Kantaro mets the reader and he has a love at first sight sort of interaction with the reader. (This is really detailed, sorry)
Writer's corner: Aww! This sounds so cute! Thank you so much for requesting! I'm still so sorry for answering so late! I hope you'll forgive me and I do hope the wait has been worth it! Please, enjoy! If you find something you don't like or want me to fix, just tell me!♥ ps. I used a gn for both the reader and their friend!
mc's pronouns: GN!- THEY/THEM
Words: 1375
Warnings: none. Love at first sight so cute stuff here only~ (yf/n: your friend's name)

"What?! You really managed to get the tickets for VISTY's concert?!"
That's what you asked to your friend immediately after seeing them holding two small pieces of papers in their hands. They chuckled happy and then immediately took your hands. It's useless to express how much joy and happiness you felt at once. Only the thought of seeing all VISTY and especially Kantaro in person.. Your heart couldn't handle it! You were looking forward to go to that concert. Of course your best friend brought you to buy some new clothes. They told you a million times that you both needed to shine like stars while being in front of the stage, cheering on your favourite boys.
"Are you going to get prepared with me?", you asked to your friend and they immediately turned around to look at you: "Of course, y/n! You won't get rid of me, hehe! I need your advices while getting prepared.. You know my dream is to be noticed by that freaking awesome prince..!!". You chuckled and soon hugged your best friend: "I'm sure Aoi will notice you, yf/n! You're sweet and gorgeous! Hehe! Let's have fun and enjoy their music too, though!". Your friend giggled adorably and soon hugged you back: "You're my best friend, y/n..."
Some days passed and now it was the day.. You were going to go to that concert with your best friend. They were already in your room, while getting prepared. Your friend had decided a cute and comfy outfit, but it fitted them so well! You were closed into the bathroom, still drying your hair. Your mind was full with Kantaro's images. You really couldn't wait to see him. He was your favourite VISTY's member! He was so cute in your opinion..! You really liked even his voice.. his cute but energetic voice.. his passion for music... It's useless to say that you had even followed him on SNS and on Twitter too. His lives on IG were so full of emotions and happiness! He had even answered one of your questions once: "Y/n asks.. What inspired you on writing For My Stella?.. Ooh.. y/n! Of course you all inspired me and VISTY! We've been inspired by the love and the support you all give us each day more! Hehe~"... You smiled remembering about his voice saying your name as your heart soon started beating faster.. You couldn't wait to see him and VISTY in person, on the stage, right in front of you.
"Y/n! Are you ready?! Come on! Or we'll be late!! I don't want to make Aoi wait for me so long...!!!", you snapped back to reality as you heard your friend's voice. You smiled at the mirror, nodding softly as to encourage yourself and then exited the bathroom. Of course you got tons of compliments by your friend, who told you that you were amazing. Both of you got out and soon reached the place where VISTY would have been taking the concert. You looked around surprised by how many people there were. Your eyes couldn't help but glowed in happiness and also in hope.. VISTY were surely going to come back to be a good and famous idol group after... well.. after what had happened in the past!..
"Y/n! Here!! These are the best seats EVER!!", you soon heard your friend shouting from the first row. All the people around were looking at them with a confused expression. It was kinda cringe... You couldn't help but chuckled about how crazy but clumsy your friend could be sometimes. They were shouting happy for being able to reach the best seats. You laughed and then approached them: "You know seats are useless because we'll be standing all night cheering on VISTY.. right?", you joked as your friend soon laughed too. However though both of you stopped and looked at the stage. All the audience started cheering and applauding as Shogo, Aoi, Toma and Kantaro soon entered the stage. Your eyes glowed in happiness to see Kantaro. He... He looked even cuter in person..! His blonde hair with colourful locks.. his colourful and energetic eyes.. his smile.. Everything about him looked cute. VISTY started singing and performing. All the audience was surprised by how amazing their vocals and moves were. They indeed were a great idol group! Aoi's sweet vocals made tons of people- especially girls- fangirling, while Shogo's energy encouraged all the group to do the very best they could that night. You couldn't help but smile all the time, keeping your eyes wandering around the stage, looking for Kantaro's eyes among all the other dancers, who were on the stage performing with VISTY too. As soon as you chuckled happily, enjoying the performance, while your friend was filming everything with their smartphone, you turned around to the stage again and saw Kantaro staring at you. His eyes were open wide while his body stopped dancing. Even the others- both VISTY and the dancers- were confused by Kantaro staring at the audience that way. What did he see? Or.. Who did he see?.. You blushed feeling his eyes on you. After a few seconds, though, Kantaro came back to sing and dance, but he occasionally looked at you and even winked at you, blushing sweetly.
"You even got the tickets to backstage and you didn't tell me until now?!"
"Hehe.. y/n.. You should trust your best friend more~~!!", that's what your friend said, giving you one of those tickets. They looked so happy to finally meet and speak to VISTY- and of course especially to Aoi. You followed them until you both reached the backstage and some bodyguards let you meet VISTY. You could see some people already talking with those four young guys while taking some pictures with them or even simply getting some autographs. You started smiling and felt your heart beating faster in excitement.. You still couldn't believe you would have met them.. spoken to Kantaro... As you and your friend entered the room, you got their attention. Kantaro opened his colourful eyes in surprise as it seemed that he was holding back his breath. Soon Shogo, Aoi and Toma introduced themselves at you and your friend (you can imagine your friend fangirling for Aoi kissing their hand while introducing themselves, haha!). Your eyes soon met Kantaro's ones as he spoke: "Y/n... H-hi... I'm.. uhm... I'm Kantaro.. hehe. But you already know it, don't you?.. hehe". He looked all blushed and embarrassed and this made you think that he was adorable. Of course you were shy too, trying to introduce yourself without stuttering or blushing. Kantaro soon smiled at you, trying to get back to his usual self- his energetic and cute self. Of course he failed because he couldn't help but blushed a lot while looking into your eyes and hearing your soothing voice.
"Oh.. So you're already following me on SNS?.. Even on IG and Twitter?.. hehe... ooh.. so you even watched my lives! I'm glad..!", he chuckled softly as you both kept talking for a few minutes about how much you enjoyed their performance and how you like their songs. You eventually told him that their songs help you to smile and keep you company when you need it. Kantaro- as well as Shogo, Toma and Aoi- felt so happy and lucky..! To hear that their songs were able to cheer people up.. it made them feel satisfied and genuinely happy. However soon a bodyguard interrupted you all to say that time was over and that you and yf/n had to leave the room. Kantaro smiled cutely with a strange look in his eyes. You could tell that that one in front of you wasn't the usual cheerful, energetic and cute Kantaro.. but a different one.. Was he sad? Was he sad because you had to go away? Because.. he had to say goodbye to you?... probably he was.
"Aw.. Too bad that time is over, y/n... I'd have liked to talk to you more..!.. uhmm I got an idea, though.. if you're fine with it.. uhm.. You'd like to chat with me on SNS..? I... I'd like to know you more... ahah... I'd be happy. Thank you for supporting me and VISTY.. Bye~!"
