Another Wordgirl Au: Morally Gray Wordgirl
Morally Gray Wordgirl au
I don’t know if anyone else in the Wordgirl fandom thought about this at one point. A what-if I thought one day was what would have happened if Steven became Dr. Two Brains before Becky became Wordgirl? Such as what if Steven became Two Brains when Becky just came to earth as a baby? This is where the au begins
In this au, Becky is adopted by Dr. Two Brains. After Becky and Bob crash land on earth, Bob carries Becky around for a bit and enters the city. This is around the time Steven first becomes Two Brains. Bob, while carrying Becky, runs into Two Brains. At this point, Bob has no idea that Two Brains is a villain. Two Brains has cheese with him and Bob is hungry. Two Brains awkwardly hands some of his cheese to Bob. Two Brains may be a villain now but he is not heartless to not offer someone that is hungry food. Bob eats the cheese while Two Brains holds Becky. Two Brains is nervous at first because some random monkey just gave him a baby to hold😟. When Becky looks at Two Brains, she curiously calls him daddy. She is just a little kid who think that this new man holding her is her parent now. Two Brains heart just melts😍after hearing her call him daddy and looking into her innocent, alien, eyes. He immediately begins to dote on her as a dad would, ex. baby talk and cooing. Bob watches the interaction between Two Brains and Becky and decides that Two Brains would be a great person to stay with and raise Becky. He later regrets his decision.😓😆Here is an outline for how this au would go:
1. Becky still becomes Wordgirl. Bob tries to implement heroic morals into Becky during the time she is being raised by a villain. Becky wants to become a hero because she does not want to see the lives of innocent civilians hurt. However, since Dr. Two Brains also implemented villainous ideals into Becky growing up, her moral values are kind of mixed in her actions as a hero.
2. Becky is more sympathetic towards villains. Ex. When Chuck and Butcher claim to be innocent after being framed by Amazing Rope Guy, she immediately believes them and tries to figure out another angle of who really committed those crimes.
3. She isn’t as upset as when the spotlight is turned off her such as when Tiny Big came onto the scene or when Granny May became bingo champion. She is still upset, but Becky is not as focused on the limelight as canon. She, from Huggy’s teachings, believes that a superhero’s true reward comes from protecting the citizens and just helping when needed to prevent or avenge the cruelest of injustices. Wordgirl will accept gifts or keys to the city out of politeness. She uses the limelight to give the people of Fair City comfort and assurance that she is still there to protect them. Becky views heroism as a job more than a pleasure. It is basically, “You get good results based on how hard and well you do the work, not just what others say.” mentality.
4. That being said, Becky will not take a passive stance and try hard to prove her innocence if the citizens suddenly began to take advantage of her heroism or if they turn on her such as with the evil duplicate or when Granny May framed her for crimes. As I said earlier, Becky in this au views heroism as a job she enjoys and doesn't take impolite backlash, constructive criticism yes. Basically she just becomes done when residents of Fair City act like morons who think they know better. (I have always had a problem when a majority of the residents in Fair City act like gullible idiots. It always irks me how they will turn on Wordgirl easily and not often give a proper apology when they realize they were wrong. Sometimes, to me, it seems the villains have better appreciation for Wordgirl than the citizens. I am not including all citizens, just seems like a majority do this.) (Okay rant over.) Becky will be like, “if you guys don’t want me anymore then good luck.” She will intervene again just to keep the city from going into complete chaos. She still cares about the safety of the citizens, she just does not like it when they abandon their trust in her for no good reason. She is not even mad at the villains who cause this. They didn’t force the citizens to dislike Wordgirl, that was their choice.
5. Becky will not often take her dad to jail. She loves her dad and does not like the idea of him not being home (the warehouse; Becky’s living conditions their are like my version of the Becky Boxleitner au, just somewhat better due to her living their all her life.) She also does not like the idea of having to fight him, but has to in order to keep up appearances and not let anyone get suspicious and start suspecting her identity. That being said, she will let Two Brains escape after stoping the crimes depending on the severity. If Two Brains just steals cheese from the grocery store, she may often ignore it (its just cheese and it can easily be replenished). For crimes such as stealing money or turning artwork into cheese, Becky will stop her dad, but later act like he got away (if police are not around. “Two Brains Quartet” still happens because police are there.). Becky may do this sometimes for other villains depending on her or their mood. Citizens and Villains believe that Dr. Two Brains is an extremely tough villain to catch which raises his credibility as Fair City’s #1 villain when Wordgirl does this. Captain Huggy Face is not happy when Wordgirl let’s her dad go, but he deals with it because she cares about her dad. Becky does stand her ground if her dad, and the other villains, do something dangerous that affects the lives of the citizens. Incidents such as the plot to mind control all the city with bunny buttons and the cheesteroid do get Two Brains arrested. (Becky is like, “Sorry dad, but I can’t let you threaten the lives of innocent civilians.”) Since this happens rarely, Becky usually stays at her friends houses until her dad leaves prison. She has a visitor clearance and does visits with her dad when she can. (Still brings him cheese.) Not much interaction with the Botsford family unless they were a focus in episodes.
6. Becky is more aware of when villains act deceitful. (She was raised by one herself.) She pretends to be tricked to let their guard down before turning the tables on them. (She can be tricky and deceitful herself when she wants to be.)
The police force are more competent in this au than in canon. They were able to capture most villains, with exception to Two Brains and other major villains, before Wordgirl came onto the scene. The city was similar to Gotham before Batman showed up. It was fine, but crime rates were still high. The episode “The Wrong Side of the Law” happens differently than canon. Wordgirl is civil and polite to the police, but does really like law enforcement or fully trusts them due to her upbringing by a super villain. (Two Brains taught her she can respect law enforcement because they are capable of doing a good job, it does not mean she has to like them or follow the rules all the time. I sorta think that the villains have some respect for D.A. Sally Botsford because of how she is good at her job.)
Now on to “Normal” girl Becky. Becky is still referred to as Becky Boxleitner. (Dr. Two Brains did not want kids ignoring or making fun of Becky with a last name like Brains, or something mouse related. He wanted people to know and treat his daughter as herself, not just who she is related to. Two Brains also wanted to give Becky some protection so random people wouldn’t bother her because of his actions. So he just gave her his old human name.) Becky is similar to her canon character with a few changes.
1. Becky will empathize with someone if they are feeling upset and hurt. But if they are doing something dumb and stupid, or anything that is concerning to her, she will be upfront and honest with that person (not complete brutal honesty but something like “Please don’t do something stupid, I care about you and your health.”). She isn’t mean, but she is forward and won’t bother to hide feelings if hiding your emotions will only make the situation worse.
2. Both Becky and Wordgirl are sassy like her dad.
3. She is still passionate about words and respects her teachers and main authority figures.
4. Becky is more clever about excuses.
5. She enjoys science more as well as literature. Becky has top grades in her class. (Next to Tobey). She enjoys science fairs and is a bit better at creating workable, and visually acceptable, inventions.
6. Becky likes puns (Two Brains) and knows every fact about cheese as well as every fact about words (again Two Brains’ fault).
7. Becky is still a fan of Pretty Princess, but has ponies, books, and science stuff in her room. She is a bit more tomboyish than canon.
Becky is still friends with Violet in this au. I always viewed Violet’s mom as an open-minded nature women, based on Violet’s character and where they live. She is easily accepting of Becky and Dr. Two Brains despite Two Brains life as a villain. Becky is also forward early on how some of Violet’s traditions make her uncomfortable so there is no issue in the series.
Becky is more a fan of words and science in this au. She and Violet have fun mixing art and science. Becky does not take art classes, but rather is part of after-school science and reading clubs. (She takes science club with Tobey and reading club with Violet.)
Becky is also friends with Tobey in this au. I have nothing against Scoops’ character. I was just more fond of his character development in the episodes during and after he learns Becky’s identity, plus a few before the reveal. (In the early seasons, it seemed that Scoops would do anything for a big story, even as exposing Wordgirl’s identity as Becky. I was upset in that Vocab Bee episode because Scoops did not seem to consider Becky’s input or feeling when he found strong evidence that Becky was Wordgirl. To me it seemed unfair that Becky had to throw her chances at a competition she was having fun in just to protect her identity because of Scoops’ actions and attitude.) Tobey met Becky when they were between 5 and 6. Tobey just lost his dad (up to interpretation on how) and was just lonely. Kids would make fun of Tobey’s nerd-side and some other mean reasons, or they would ignore him. Becky sympathized with Tobey because most kids, not Violet, would avoid her because of her dad. (They would not dare bully her for fear of how Dr. Two Brains would react.) Tobey and Becky easily began to get along and overtime became friends. Claire McCallister was worried about her son hanging out with the child of a villain. But quickly after seeing how Becky was a good kid plus Two Brains being a good dad despite his status, and that her son was happy with friends, she let her worries slide. Claire, Dr. Two Brains, and Violet’s mom, have made an unofficial single parents support group between the three of them. In this au, Tobey does not become a villain, but still builds robots. (I already have a new villain that takes canon Tobey’s role.) Becky and Tobey are silently crushing on each other. Tobey does suspect Becky is Wordgirl, but respects her secret identity and will wait for her to tell him (or a reveal). (Still cares for her anyway.)
Scoops parents are friendly but are strong law-abiding citizens so they avoid Two Brains and Becky. Scoops in this au is nice, but is more concerned on news stories. He originally talks to Becky in hopes of getting an interview with her dad. Scoops is trying not to be inconsiderate, but he is sorta using Becky as a way to get to her dad. Becky deals with this stuff from other reporters and fans of her dad. Neither Dr. Two Brains and Becky like this attention. (Two Brains likes being in the news and in magazines, but he doesn’t like people using his daughter to get to him. Becky is the most important person in his life with cheese being second.) Becky shuts Scoops down after his first few initial attempts. Scoops is disappointed, but he apologizes and doesn’t bother her anymore. Becky is civil and polite to Scoops in this series, but that is about it. There is no crush. (I don’t know if I will keep the Violet x Scoops ship in this au or change it.)
I really like this au along with a few other aus I made up which include an Alliance Swap au. I am going to expand more on this au and the characters later.

Winter package [vocab] pt.2
So many of you seemed to enjoy this format so I made another post like this 😊
I’m going to highlight only some phrases that I find useful in order for the post not to be awfully long~ cont. of winter package
Screenshots are from this year’s winter package in Helsinki from @qdeoks
눈이 가득한 스키장 촬영으로 한껏 들뜬 방탄이들
➼ 가득하다 - to be full of
➼ 스키장 - ski resort
➼ 한껏 - as much as possible, 한 [限] stands for a ‘limit’
➼ 들뜨다 - to be excited
= Bangtanies who are very excited by the shooting in the ski resort full of snow. (they are the editors’ babies)
HS: 스키장에 오니까 진짜 겨울인 게 실감이 나네요.
➼ 겨울인 게 = 겨울이다 + ㄴ/은 것이 - that it’s winter
→ 실감이 나다 - to feel something is real
= Now that we’ve been to the ski resort it really feels like winter.
HS: 다들 스키장[에 온지] 얼마 만이에요?
→ 얼마 만이에요? = how long has it been since sth?
= How long has it been since you came to a ski resort everyone?
YG: 저 한 15년 됐나? 나 진짜 초등학교 저학년 때 가고...
➼ 한 - used only in spoken language when estimating sth, similar to 약
→ ...년이 됐다 - it’s been ...years (sino-korean numbers)
➼ 초등학교 저학년 - the lower grades of elementary school
= For me, it’s been about 15 years. I really went in early elementary school and... (it happens that spoken language ends by ~고 because you just omit the rest - here it’s obvious that something like “and then I never went anymore” would follow.)
NJ: 난 17살 때, 딱 9년 만이야.
→ ...살 때 - at ... years old (native korean numbers)
➼ 딱 - exactly (colloquial language)
= I went at 17, it’s been exactly 9 years.
JK: 내가 이때까지 스키장에 간 기억이 없어요.
➼ 이때까지 - up until now
➼ 기억 - memory, 기억이 없다 - to not have memories = not remember
= I don’t remember ever going to a ski resort.
[집중!] 이번에도 랜덤 용돈 뽑기가 걸려있습니다!
➼ 집중 - concentration
➼ 랜덤 - random (konglish)
➼ 용돈 - allowance money
➼ 뽑기 - picking, choosing
➼ 걸려있다 - to be in game, be on the line
= [Concentrating!] This time, the random picking of allowance money is on the line! (the teams who won the games could pick the most tickets with money written on it)
HS: 게임 중 하나는 ‘네버 엔딩 스토리’예요.
→ ... 중 하나 - one of the ...
➼ 네버 엔딩 스토리 = a game where you have to make a story over a rythm. You lose when you fail to connect or end the story.
= One of the games is “never ending story”.
사실 우리가 처음 했을 때 너무 아쉬워가지고 한번 다시 해보는 건데요...
➼ 아쉽다 - to be a shame (otherwise used in many situations, hard to translate into English with one word)
➽ ~아/어가지고 - a colloquial “because”, not in written language
➽ ~ㄴ/은데요 - when you end a sentence like this, you are expected to add something more, another sentence.
It can also be used as a question, for example someone calls you, asks if it’s you and you say yes + why are you calling by 그런데요?
= To be honest, we have regrets from the first time we played this so we’re trying one more time...
SJ: 오늘 한 마디 정도 할 수 있겠죠?
➼ 마디 - a sentence, a part, another word that has many meanings, is hard to translate directly.
➼ 정도 - about, around
= Today we’ll be able to hold it for about one round.
오늘 목표 : 한 바퀴 돌기 = Today’s goal: going around once
➼ 목표 - goal
➼ 바퀴 - round, circle
➼ 돌기 - turning
HS: 이어 보자! = Let’s try to connect it!
➽ ㅅ verbs - when conjugated, the ㅅ final consonant is omited.
잇다 → 말을 이어 봐요. = Try connecting the words.
낫다 → 기침이 나았어요 = The coughing got better.
짓다 → 집을 지었어. = I built a house.
긋다 → 밑줄을 그어요. = Underline it.
붓다 → 얼굴이 부었어. = My face is swollen.
젓다 → 계란을 잘 저어주세요. = Mix the eggs well.
But there is always an exception in an exception. Some verbs stay the same, leaving the ㅅ there even when conjugated [벗다, 빼앗다, 씻다, 솟다].

Hey, I was reading your fic (I really like it by the way! Sasuke's, my favorite character, and I think you wrote him really well :D), and I was wondering, what's your writing process? I know everyone has something different that works for them, but how do you plan out your chapters, or get ideas, or things like that (very vague, I know, I'm sorry)?
Hiiiiiiiiiiii!!!!!!!!!! Thank you sugar plum for reading Maybe I’m Paying for the Things I’ve Done and liking my characterization of Sasuke, it’s very heartwarming and I appreciate it.
As for my writing process, oof. As you know everyone’s writing process is really different and it has been a joy to learn more about other people’s process to help figure out what works for me. This is something you can absolutely cherry pick with and try things out for the first time.
Timing: some people write better at certain points during the day, some people can start writing at 5am or write till 3am in the morning with a late start. I am a mix of both. I can start writing around 9am because that’s when my internal ticker is like “Let’s go to work now!” It’s just how my school and internship schedule line up. I also just write when I am bored(while in class sometimes) and late at night if I really have the momentum. Which happened for some of the chapters I have written for Maybe I’m Paying for the Things I’ve Done. So figure out what works for you. Also, timing myself sometimes helps, I use Pomodoro as a way to keep track of my work, I don’t necessarily take my short breaks.
Initial phase of writing: I draft first and I backwards outline as I go along and then I hit a wall. The idea circulates in the back of my mind and I either get a sense of a scene or a situation that I want the characters to go into and I start writing. Writing the story informs me where it’s going to go, it comes to me during the process. However, I will hit a wall. The fics I write are rarely short(shoutout to the people who can do short and sweet, your sense of pacing is unreal and I bow to your greatness) so there is a lot of worldbuilding, plot, and character development that needs to happen. Important thing to note, just because you are writing fanfiction doesn’t mean you can skip worldbuilding. It is very important!!!!!! It doesn’t need to be the crazy amount that I do but you need to set your reader up in a place and time so give some context.
Timeline: Things happen at certain places and times, and my characters will be a certain age when it happens, so I need to keep track. One of the walls I’ve hit is that for my current posted fic Sasuke spends time in jail, but how much time was not made clear in my non existent early planning and that changes the way things happen. And how old he is, and how much time should I spend on that prison sentence. If it was a long time then I need to talk about it as a life event that will have consequences throughout the entire fic, or if he was just detained until his lawyers came that changes Sasuke’s character. It also is a good way to talk about the criminal justice system of Konoha that I am making up. So I keep track of everyone’s ages, and birthdays, and sometimes I change them. I mean it is really hard for me to write baby ninja that go out into the battlefield when they are four years old and not make the entire fic about a shitty world like that. I don’t want to do that, it’s too fucking hard, and fluff feeds my soul. Also, seasons!!! That changes the way you set up your environment as well, from what I can tell Fire Country should have a monsoon season since they are so forested and are located near the equator of their world. So when that happens, if I decide to include that, is important for pacing of the story. I mean how long should this go on? Also, romance in the rain *hitn hint wink wink* who knows.
Outlining: I didn’t use to be an outline and to some extent I still am not. I have done a previous post explaining a little bit of it but I backwards outline to keep track of what is happening because it’s a lot of detail and I don’t want to make mistakes. However, spreadsheets are my jam. I didn’t use to be this way but my internship has changed me and now I like spreadsheets as a way to be organized. Huzzah *throws confetti in the air* to being a boring adult person! There are a couple of way to do this but first actual writing notes:
5 commandments of story
Inciting incident
Progressive complications
Crisis
Climax
Resolution
This is something that helped me a lot when it came to structure, because sometimes my plot points are all happening at the same time and I’m like this makes no goddamn sense, what is happening. Story Grid is a podcast, and a book, and a website that can help you talk about structure. They can also talk to you about the Hero's journey. Take or leave whatever works for you because a lot of their stuff doesn’t work for me. But in doing their spreadsheets and exercises I learned what doesn’t work in a story. It’s how I realized pacing was a problem in my writing, and that I needed to take time away.
So they have sample spreadsheets that break down books into scenes, turning points, characters on stage, etc. Take what works and leave what doesn’t.
Back to spreadsheets, I have a story grid one for Maybe I’m Paying for the Things I’ve Done which I will backwards outline for the chapters I have already posted and a weird visual index card thing with the five commandments on my computer to help me figure out what is happening in my story.
It looks kind of like five boxes side by side with the five commandments written on each one.
Sometimes there is more than one box for progressive complication and that is fine, it is also fine if every scene you write doesn’t have a resolution, because by the end of the fic you will have one. I split this up by chapter, expected word count, POV.
Word count: Some people care about this, some people don’t. I don’t write stuff for ‘Maybe’ that is less than 10000 each chapter, there is way too much going on in the fic to do short chapters. For my other works in progress I find that I will be writing shorter, which is both easier and harder because it needs me to be concise and clear. Anyway, I do take notes from Story Grid in this because 50% of my words have to be for my middle build, while 25% each go to the opening hook and to the ending payoff. A scene is about 1200-2000 words.
Wiggle Room: Shit happens, you don’t do as much one day and you do a lot another. It’s okay, your story will evolve at certain points, it will tell you what to do. Don’t worry about it that much.
Struggle/villainy: Protagonists are often defined by their antagonists, and if that is the type of story you are writing make sure you spend just as much time on the villain of your story as you do the hero. They are major actors and deserve the attention. When I talk about the Akatsuki I am thinking that they are an international terrorist organization hellbent on kidnapping people that are systematically treated as weapons. There are a lot of moving parts for this. Also the characters themselves, Pein and Konana are radicalized in my story from peaceful revolutionaries to violent ones because they watched the leader of an institution murder their best friend, that will cause personal and political damage. It informs the way I write them or will.
Sasuke's struggle isn’t necessarily against a person, it is against himself. He wants a home because when he was little the one place where he felt safe was violated by his own brother, that is a hell of a trauma. Then he left his former home to go to Oto. Place has a huge part to play in Sasuke’s characterization and I tag homemaking in my fic because I want to show the process of creating a home for yourself as a process of revival and change and hope and vulnerability. It is a huge emotional labor of love and will be a focal point in the fic. That’s why I spend so much time talking about these goddamn renovations and art deco, it matters. This is a boy who has traveled all over the world and is now trying to put all the pieces of himself into one place, how he does it will be incredibly revealing of his characters.
Character: Emotional arcs are important for everyone. Try to figure out what your character is going to go through. It helps so much. Victoria Schwab asks her characters three questions:
What do they fear?
What do they want?
What are they willing to do to get what they want?
See if this helps. Also, understand that you got to develop your side characters as well, they act as a foil for the main character and add richness to the story, you will notice if they are flat. Understand the dynamics they bring to the story and to the world. Are they a woman in a field that is more socially acceptable for men? How does that affect them? What does gender look like in this world and how does this affect your characterization? Have they gone through physical/emotional trauma? Because that shit will keep coming up in a story, healing takes time. Also this is a fanfic, do whatever you want honey bear.
Vocab: the lovely @slexenskee told me to have a running doc of vocabulary and I am trying to do that.
I also have a running doc for a fic/character where I put all my brainstorming, little scenes, lines, vibes, questions into. And a doc for the synopsis of any new fic ideas I get.
Inspiration: Read, a lot. I read fics, I read fiction and fantasy books, I read non fiction and I read about other people’s writing process. I read the news, I read twitter threads, I read random quotes on Pinterest. I watch tv shows and take note of how they do characterization or pacing or plot. I listen to music, I couldn’t live without it. I am on Pinterest looking for vibes or aesthetics for my fics. When I first started writing, since my fic was inspired by another fic, I was worried it would be too similar, that worry is fading because I am doing more writing, and more reading as well. But you must consume culture in order to produce it. Also take breaks, sometimes you figure stuff out if you leave it alone or talk to friends about it. If you reach out to me about it, I will do my best to help so feel free.
IMPORTANT: DO NOT BE A RACIST/HOMOPHOBIS/TRANSPHOBIC/MISOGYNIST. UNDERSTAND THAT WHEN YOU WRITE A FANFICTION THE CHARACTERS ARE CODED IN A CERTAIN WAY. DON’T GO AROUND MAKING PEOPLE OF COLOR WHITE OR MORE LIGHT SKINNED THAN THEY ARE. WOMEN AND NON BINARY PEOPLE EXIST ALWAYS, IF YOU ARE NOT WRITING THEM INTO YOUR WORLD THAT MEANS YOU ARE MARGINALIZING THEM IN YOUR WORLD AND IN YOUR MIND. IF YOU ARE CISGENDERED BE DAMN CAREFUL ABOUT WRITING TRANS NARRATIVES, PROBABLY DON’T. WHEN I DECIDED TO INCLUDE MY OWN CULTURE INTO SASUKE’S CHARACTER AND PAST I DIDN’T MEAN TO MAKE HIM LESS EAST ASIAN BUT TO ADD PARTS OF MYSELF TO THE WORLD. ACCEPT AND ADAPT TO CRITICISM COMING YOUR WAY IN THIS SENSE. I AM SURE YOU WILL BE FINE, THIS IS JUST A STANDARD DISCLAIMER.
This was really long, and I hope you won't mind. Thanks again for this question, and let me know how your writing goes. Also listen to Deadline City the podcast.

Robin x Reader: The Bird Tattoo~Part Thirteen {END} (Soulmate AU)
A/n: Pardon my language but fUcKiNg FiNaLLy; the end of this series is long past due. I loved writing it, but I really need to move on to different characters and different story lines! Thank you guys so much for all the notes, reblogs, cute tags, and praise throughout the series! So, without further delay, enjoy the final chapter of The Bird Tattoo! I hope you guys like it because I kind of botched the end of it!
Robin felt so defeated when he found out about your breakdown. He found out the next morning when Black Canary sat beside you, just after she replaced the bandages on you throat. The scratches weren’t very deep, but they still needed to be cleaned and bandaged.
“Why did this happen? I don’t understand, she was doing so well...” Robin was already on the verge of tears. He thought you were getting better, and you still were, but some of the progress was lost.
“She lost her powers, Robin.”
Hearing that almost tore him to the ground, too. Your mocking abilities made you, you. You very rarely loathed them, but you otherwise greatly embraced them. The ability gave you life, gave you skill, and pure joy through and through. Now he understood why you were hurting so. On top of that, because of your powers, he got to meet you. If you ended up with no mocking abilities, The Doctor surely would have killed you.
Just like mourning your death, the team mourned the loss of your powers. Mockingbird wasn’t Mockingbird without them, so they made it their top priority to find out how to get them back between missions. This meant research, consulting other heroes, all sorts of different things to heave in as much information as possible.
Batman ran another blood test and he got all sorts of useful results. He discovered that all of your mockingbird DNA was still there, but the elongated agitation was caused by stress, mental strain from PTSD, and obviously injuries from the explosion. In turn, the DNA agitation caused a negative spike in your behavior, which was why you had random outbursts of anger and disobedience. But he had no idea as to why you couldn’t mock anymore, despite the DNA still being there.
Batman didn’t find a solid explanation, but he had a hunch that your trances were becoming your body’s way of preventing physically unhealthy effects, caused by PTSD, from agitating the mockingbird DNA. Why it never happened during missions, Batman didn’t know. But, he was beyond thankful for it.
Speaking of your trances, they occurred once or twice every day. Each one was longer than the last, and your team stood by you for all of it. They took turns every once in a while and brought you books, watched movies one your tablets (they were shocked by how many top-quality devices you built), ate with you, and all sorts of friendly activities you could participate in while laying in your hospital bed.
Conner and M’gann gave you a couple home-made stress balls they learned how to make by watching a video on the internet. They were a surprising gift, but they were very cute and served their purpose quite well. Conner felt a little guilty for the times you two butted heads; it rarely happened, but he still felt bad. So, in light of that, he brought you some colored pencils, markers, and a coloring book. It was such a cute gesture and he was startled when you hugged him, but he very awkwardly and briefly returned the embrace.
Using the cameras, Green Arrow and Aquaman found out that Kaldur occasionally snuck into the med bay at night and put you in a wheelchair to go around the Cave. He knew how much you valued freedom, so he did the best he could to give you some without letting you leave Mount Justice. You talked about anything that came to mind throughout the small journey, and you even made him laugh with a complex and well-thought-out joke. He wasn’t scolded for it, and the two adults didn’t tell Batman. It was a very kind and thoughtful thing for Kaldur to do.
Wally brought games to play, such as darts, Monopoly, Clue, checkers, and you taught everyone how to play poker. However, Clue led to bickering between Robin and Kaldur, you almost took Artemis out with a dart, checkers always ended within a few minutes, a few of them regularly forgot the rules of poker, and Monopoly always brought yelling and throwing game pieces. But you had plenty of laughs and fun all the same.
After school, Robin came to see you with Artemis, who carried a small stack of books and a packet of paper. Robin sat next you and held your hand as usual and Artemis sat on the other side of the bed. Robin dramatically kissed the back of your hand, making you giggle and Artemis rolled her eyes, but she had a small smile on her face.
“I brought you some books in Spanish, French, Italian, and English,” Artemis held up the books and set them on the small table next to your bed. “And I got you a Romanian packet to work on.”
You grinned “I actually finished it when I was ‘grounded’. I had nothing else to do, so I worked on it for hours at a time.” It was great that you learned a new language, but the circumstances? Not so much. “But I can do it anyway; you brought a pencil, right?” You couldn’t help being excited.
“Duh,” Artemis held up a pencil. “I didn’t expect you to write the answers in your blood.”
Robin chuckled and let go of your hand so you could grab the packet and the pencil. You grabbed a book and placed it under the paper and went to work. On instinct, you wrote your name and the date on the top and you read the first question.
You had to translate ‘I went to buy a new set of curtains, but they were out of stock at the store’ into Romanian, and it usually wouldn’t be a problem, especially since you became fluent. For some reason, you could barely do half of the first sentence and you started to panic.
Robin noticed your distressed face and asked, “(Y/n)? You alright?”
You rubbed at your eyes to prevent tears. You quickly shook your head and whimpered, “I can’t understand any of it. I can’t remember.” Sobs threatened to escaped, but you used your abdominal muscles to restrict upper body movement and you breathed very slowly. “I don’t understand any of it-!”
Artemis registered it after a few moments, and she felt like throwing up. The loss of your powers took away all of the foreign languages with it, affecting your intelligence. This was going to dramatically change you more than anyone thought it would.
Your bottom lip quivered slightly before you bit it. Your life was crashing down right in front of you and you weren’t strong enough to hold it up. Was there any point in going back to school? This new development would put you too far behind, you’d lose your position as captain, and your 4.5 GPA would plummet. You refused to break down again, but it was hard to not cry hysterically. You had a right to, but you weren’t letting it happen again.
Robin’s hands started to shake a little, but he hid it from you. “Do you think you can do Spanish?” He asked. When you responded in perfect Spanish, he and Artemis were relieved. It was the first foreign language you learned, so at least you had that.
But everything else? All of the other languages you knew? Gone. Erased from your memory, save for a few vocab words and insults here and there. You wanted to punch things until your knuckles bled. You yearned to break things and reduce them to dust, just like you were reduced from a highly intelligent individual to an average-minded teenage girl.
“I... I want to be alone right now.” Your voice wavered, and you didn’t look them in the eye. “Please leave...”
Robin moved to put a hand on your arm. “I don’t think you should be alone right n-”
“Get. Out.” You growled and jerked away from him. This was too much for you to handle in front of them, so you were going to handle it alone. You were already becoming more angry, and you didn’t want to take it out on them.
Artemis slowly nodded and cautiously rose from her seat. “Okay. We’ll see you later, (Y/n).” She walked out the door, briefly stopping to urgently gesture for Robin to follow. He got up as well, sending you a worried glance before exiting the med bay.
You firmly put the pencil on top of the other stack of books and you crumpled the packet up in your hands. You threw the ball of paper across the room, but you greatly missed the trash can, and you punched the mattress angrily. It looks like you lost your accuracy, too.
The soft pillow caught your head as you violently sat back. You clenched your jaw as you felt more tears falling, and you held a dangerous mix of fury and sorrow. What were you becoming? Why was this happening to you?
A long time ago, all you wanted to be was normal. Now you wanted to be anything but normal. You wanted to be Mockingbird. You wanted to stay Mockingbird!
First your tattoo, then your powers, but now your enhanced intelligence?
This isn’t fair.
The Justice League was holding a meeting, specifically about you. The night before, Artemis told Green Arrow about what happened when you tried doing a Romanian worksheet. It was as if every step forward came with two steps back. They weren’t considering getting rid of you, not at all, but they didn’t know how to help you. Every idea was shot down by a high price (not money) they couldn’t afford to pay.
“What else can we do!?” Black Canary almost shouted, slamming her hand down on the table. “At this point, Mockingbird has lost everything that makes her Mockingbird! This has to be fixed!” Dinah was ready to pull out her hair. If this change was going to be permanent, you would be an almost entirely different person.
“We’ve gone through almost every option,” Wonder Woman said calmly. “I’m not sure if this can be fixed by force. If there’s nothing we can do, the only option we have left is to give it time.”
Flash was darting around the room every two seconds, going over every idea they had and hadn’t suggested. Your powers were from a former professional scientist, who wasn’t always at the top of the scientific ladder. Cassius Henze had to learn how to be a scientist somewhere, right?
The loud arguing dulled to hardly any sound as the Justice League watched Flash work on one of the computers, pulling up files in a literal blur. He absorbed the information as quick as it came up, and he was slowly nearing the solution they were dying to find.
“Cassius Henze... Star City... Seattle University... S.T.A.R. Labs... Central City High School...” Barry’s head shot up after a few moments of mumbling. “S.T.A.R. Labs! He was an intern at S.T.A.R. Labs!” He dove right back in and went through the S.T.A.R. Labs files from at least a decade ago.
The heroes of the room were either intrigued or very concerned. “Who was an intern at-” Green Arrow started to ask.
“Cassius Henze! He is, well, was The Doctor, right?” Flash turned his head to look at him as his arms still moved around the keyboard. “He started his scientist career with an internship, which was where he started his research on animal experimentation.”
“Do you think he-”
“From what I remember, S.T.A.R. Labs keeps a digital and paper records of submitted research and experiments. But, since he was there decades ago, I would assume that all of the things he tried out are hidden away in dusty and forgotten filing cabinets.”
Green Arrow was struck with an idea. “So if we get our hands on the files, then -interrupt me one more time and you’ll get an arrow between your eyes!- we can go through his research and find a way to restore Mockingbird’s powers!” Oliver was filled with fresh motivation and he started forming a plan.
The Flash was literally buzzing with excitement as he ran over to Batman. “Okay, so, we need to get Cassius Henze’s research and lab reports from S.T.A.R. Labs, are we supposed to go in normally and get them or-”
It was Barry’s turn to be interrupted, but by Batman. “I’ll handle that. However, we need alternatives if this doesn’t work.” The brooding bat said and he turned to leave. “I’ll be back.” You weren’t you without your powers. You were the soulmate of his son. He was compelled to help you in any way possible and in the easiest, most efficient way available.
The world never knew if Batman broke in, played the civilian card, or bought the files that night.
You didn’t have an actual conversation with anyone for almost two days. If you played any games or read any books, you were silent. When Kaldur took you out on the wheelchair, it was a wordless journey. Neither of you really minded; the silence was rather peaceful in that situation.
Robin wasn’t used to the lack of conversing with you, but actions speak louder than words. So you eventually let him lay in the hospital bed with you, and you were found curled up in his arms in the most delicate way possible, lest he hurt you. It was a very cute sight, but he had to leave eventually.
It was earth-shattering to find out that even your reflexes and accuracy were deteriorating. This time, you didn’t just feel worthless. You knew you were useless. It wasn’t a feeling anymore; it was a fact. You went from a rising hero to a powerless and defenseless civilian, who can only be a bystander instead of a protagonist in the battle.
Once again, you were staring at the ceiling you were starting to hate. You were due to be moved out of the med bay and back to your comfortable (probably dusty as hell) room in a day or so, but time was going in slow motion for you. You didn’t want to be a normal, dime-a-dozen civilian. You didn’t want an average intelligence level or an average amount of strength. You hated the thought of being scarred and weak, but there you were. Literally scarred for life and back to existing as a standard human being.
Batman wasn’t too far away from you while going over some files you didn’t know he had. He seemed to be gathering materials for some sort of experiment, but you didn’t see the point in asking. There was nothing you could do to help. There was barely anything you could do at all.
“You guys aren’t going to get rid of me, are you?” You asked hazily with a blank look in your (e/c) eyes.
He somewhat sounded appalled at your inquiry. “No. Why would we ever do that?”
“My powers are gone. I don’t remember any of the languages I learned aside from English and Spanish. I don’t have good reflexes anymore. Hell, my soulmate tattoo is burned; you can’t even tell what it is. Maybe dying in the explosion is what should have happened.” Your voice was a mix of bitterness and a loss of hope. You were giving up. “I’m useless.”
Batman’s sharp response made you flinch. “But you didn’t die in the explosion and we’re all very thankful for that. You’re injured. You aren’t going to be in perfect shape for a while, but not useless.” He explained, his voice was nearly harsh. “You still have a purpose, Mockingbird.”
“What’s the point in calling me that?! I’m just a standardized kid in hospital bed! I’m never going to be Mockingbird again!” You snapped at the big-bad-bat himself.
“Because you’re getting your powers back, one way or another.” Batman’s voice was dark and would be scary to anyone else. “You are valuable to this team and you are Robin’s soulmate. And those are only two reasons.” This was out of character for him, but you tended to do that to people. “Now hold still.”
“What? Why?” You gave him a cautious look and leaned back.
You didn’t have your usual reaction time, so you didn’t anticipate Batman to rush at you with a needle and plunge it into your arm. You thrashed in his hold as he held you down against the bed, freaking out as he injected you with whatever was in the syringe at the proper pace. Injecting too fast never ended well.
You were prepared to chew him out when Batman pulled away, but your vision went a little blurry, and you felt like you were floating. Your arms and legs felt numb and everything felt odd. “What... did you do...?” You slurred and you let your head fall back on your pillow. This was like the time you got high when you walked in on about half a dozen girls smoking weed in the bathroom.
“Injected you with something that should work. Be thankful.” To you, Batman sounded like he was joyful and joking, but he was just his normal self with his stone-cold voice and stature.
Suddenly, a searing pain went through your body and you felt like your body was shriveling up, constricting everything. You let out a tear-jerking cry of agony before passing out, your arm flopping down onto the mattress and your hand hung off the bed.
Batman was teeny bit worried at this. “I really hope that’s supposed to happen...” A few drops of regret got into his system, accompanied by a dash of self-doubt and a pinch of ‘holy shit, did I just kill a teenager?’
It was nearly twelve hours later and you still hadn’t stirred. Batman hooked you up to a heart monitor to make sure you were still alive and even gave you an IV. It didn’t look like you were waking up any time soon (you were unable to eat or drink) and Batman was freaking out. It almost started to show. He injected you with something he barely tested, and he didn’t consult the Justice League about it. He made an impulsive, rash decision without planning... just like you and everyone else on the team!
‘Damn it, I put Mockingbird into a coma.’ Batman thought, and some colorful language followed. He contemplated sneaking Alfred to the med bay again, but that idea went out the window when the med bay doors opened.
The team walked in as a small cluster and were chatting amongst themselves about another recent mission. It was successful once again, and they were barely bruised. The easiest mission yet.
“Hey Batman, how’s (Y/n)?” Wally asked. They all knew your first name now, much to your chagrin, but it was the least of your problems.
Batman just stayed quiet and felt very uncomfortable. “Well-”
Robin bounced on past him, excited to see you, without waiting for a response, then promptly shouted, “What the hell happened?!”
The rest of them barged past Batman and were shocked to see you connected to a heart monitor with an IV, and the still-healing burns made it a more grisly sight.
“Did she get out of bed?!”
“Is she okay?!”
“Why does she need these?!”
As if the situation couldn’t get any worse for Batman, Red Arrow and Black Canary came in to the med bay as well. Roy was only able to visit a couple times; this one was his third. The last thing he expected to see was you laying in a hospital bed looking like a corpse.
Black Canary looked at Batman with death in her eyes. “Batman... What did you do?” Her voice was dangerously calm, and it scared your comrades.
“...I got Cassius Henze’s files from S.T.A.R. Labs, and the solution for agitated DNA was included. I made the solution, and injected it into Mockingbird’s arm. This must be one of the side-affects that I was unfortunately unaware of.”
“Well did you read through the entire thing?!”
“Yes. Several times.”
“Did you test it?” Black Canary growled through gritted teeth.
“I don’t recall ever having anything to test on whatsoever, so no.”
Dinah was trying very hard to not use her Canary Cry. “And to think the Batman went in blind without knowing if this ‘solution’ was going to work or kill her!”
“It’s going to work. Look at the files-”
Roy stepped up with his jaw clenched. “How can you be so sure? You thought locking her up was going to work,” He gestured to your injured body. “But that didn’t work out so well, did it?” Roy was furious when he heard you were locked in your room, and absolutely distraught when he was told you died. Then he was relieved that you were alive, but seeing you wrapped in bandages made him hurt. “I swear to God, Batman, if she dies...”
While the adults argued, M’gann put two fingers to your forehead and gently dove into your mind. She got a weak connection to you, and it wasn’t going to last long.
“My, my, fancy seeing you here! M’gann, can you please tell me why am I trapped inside my own pounding skull?” You said sarcastically and you saw flickers of her as she appeared in your mind.
“From what I heard, Batman injected you with some sort of ‘cure’ that will get your powers back, but I don’t think any of us are very happy about it. Roy and Black Canary are yelling at him.”
“I’d like to yell at him, too! All that damn bat said was ‘Now hold still’ and he’s stabbing my arm with a needle a second later! And now look, I’m-” You didn’t get to finish your sentence when you felt her unwillingly disconnect.
M’gann didn’t say a word for about half a minute, and the team asked her if you both were alright. Not long after, she started to giggle, and that giggle turned into boisterous laughter.
“What’s so funny?” Robin cocked his head.
Through her laughs, M’gann answered, “She’s so angry-” For some reason, she found the way you worded your anger was hysterical. “When she wakes up, Batman is going to get quite an earful from her!”
The group broke into laughs and giggles and chuckles, but Robin was fretting. If Batman never tested it, what if something really bad happened to you? Granted, it was Batman; he always seemed to know everything, but anyone can be wrong. When it came to your safety, Robin would doubt anyone.
Once again, Robin was staying the night by your side. He still spent some time at home, but he used the rest of the time he had available with you. It was expected; you were his soulmate. He got into the bed with you, avoiding the IV when he gently wrapping his arms around your frail form and prayed to any god listening for you to be alright. Whether if you wake up with your powers or not (preferably with your powers), he was still going to love you with all his heart until the end of his days.
Your chest slowly rose and fell, and the heart monitor emitted a dim but irritating glow down upon you two. The beeping was also annoying, but it gave him comfort all the same. Your heart was beating and healthy and you were alive, and that’s all the mattered.
“Remember when we hated each other?” He asked you, even though he knew you couldn’t listen. “What am I saying, of course you do. God, I would rant about you to Wally all the time. I never told him or anyone else- I think I accidentally said something to Alfred, I’m not sure -but I thought you were really pretty when you first joined the team.” Robin confessed.
His heart cracked a little when you didn’t react. Little did he know, you could actually hear him. You just couldn’t do anything to communicate.
“When you broke into the Batcave, I was angry because I was jealous. You got past all of the security we had without setting anything off. That and you broke into the Batcave. I think that gave all of us a right to be irritated.” Robin took off his sunglasses and chuckled. “I’ll always hold that against you... But only in the most loving way possible, of course.”
Dick went on and on about almost every interaction from his point of you, as if you were actually there to have the conversation. However, you heard every word he spoke. It almost sounded like a whisper but you heard his voice. Although trapped inside your mind, you were smiling.
Unbeknownst to you, it had been nearly two weeks since you first fell into a coma. Hopes barely dimmed, but they were continuously discouraged. Dick ended up not-so-secretly holding it all against Batman for your lack of consciousness, and Batman didn’t blame anyone for doing so. He himself was starting to doubt a positive outcome, but he wouldn’t dare say that out loud.
Robin walked into the med bay with a quiet sigh. ‘She’s going to wake up any day now...!’
Artemis was quietly talking to you as she did her homework. “The robotics team is really starting to worry about you,” She held up a small stack of ‘Get Well’ cards and put them in your hand. “The entire team got you some cards, and I think some flowers, but I have no idea where those went. I had to come up with another excuse; it’s getting harder and harder to hide this from them. Even more of a reason for you to wake up...” Her voice faded out on a sad note.
Robin cleared his throat and Artemis jumped. “How is she?”
Artemis visibly relaxed and gave him a sad look. “There’s been no change. Aside from her weight loss, nothing else is different.” Her fist briefly clenched, but un-clenched a couple seconds later. “We need you to wake up, M.” She told you.
The chair screeched on the floor as Robin pulled it up next to Artemis, taking a seat on it just like he had done almost every single day since you survived the explosion. “Yeah, that’d be perfect right now.” He said. “You need to wake up, get back on your feet, and train some more so you can go out an missions with us again.”
“Yelling at Batman seems like a good option, as well. M’gann said you wanted to do that.” Artemis said and laughed. She lost count of how many times she wanted to do that. “We’ve all been a little upset with him for that.”
Robin and Artemis talked about it and got into a heated discussion over the events that happened in the past couple weeks. A discussion so heated that they didn’t notice your fingers moving, or when your hand tightened around the small cluster of cards. Your eyes fluttered open, and you almost shouted with joy when you could hear their voices clearly, and you could see the med bay with your temporary muddled
You rolled your eyes when they didn’t even glance at you. They were on the verge of arguing about things you had no idea had happened, but you weren’t surprised. They were both throwing out good points and bad points, and you would have some information to shoot them down with, had you never been in a coma. You still felt quite groggy.
‘Thanks, Batman.’
You took the time to examine Artemis and Robin, to the best of your ability. Artemis looked a little more tired than usual, but she didn’t lose any of her fire. It was still burning bright inside her, but you were something that kept that fire flaming. She needed you to keep it ablaze.
Robin looked a little unwell. His skin was a little paler than usual, and he yawned quite often. To you, he sounded a little more sad. But all of your senses were out of sorts, so take that with a grain of salt. Nonetheless, you were still thrilled to be awake and aware.
Their bickering got louder and louder, and it started to hurt your currently sensitive ears. It was annoying the hell out of you and the fact that they hadn’t seen you was mind-boggling. You rubbed your eyes to try and clear your vision, but it only helped a little bit.
You sighed and growled/croaked into your hands, “You know, I love you guys, but you need to shut the fuck up, alright?” You made your presence known, and you were very grumpy. You had a right to be, after all. Obviously, you would feel bad about saying that later, but you didn’t want to wake up from a coma to yelling
The two of them stopped arguing instantly and nearly choked. You were awake! No longer in a coma! Able to talk back! They didn’t know how to react for a good moment, but you weren’t even concerned. You were more hungry than anything. “If you’re not going to say anything, can I have food?”
You didn’t get food, but your face was peppered with kisses from Robin and Artemis instantly called Black Canary and your teammates shortly after. They were happy that you weren’t going to stay in a coma that would last years, and especially happy that you still had your memories. Your mood went from grumpy to exhilarated in the blink of an eye, but was sure to soon turn sour.
Robin hugged you tightly, and kissed your cheek for about the twentieth time. “You’re finally up, I’m so happy you’re-”
It was your turn to kiss his cheek, and you put your hand on his other cheek and turned his head to see his eyes- well, his sunglasses. “I missed you.” You said with a loving smile and you kissed him right on the lips.
He almost melted in your embrace and he kissed back with no hesitation. It had been too long since your last kiss, in his and your opinion. You kissed for a few moments longer, before pulling away when other heroes entered the room. You weren’t too keen on PDA at this age. “I love you...” Robin secretly whispered in your ear.
“I love you, too.”
Hugs and some more cheek-kisses were sent your way, as were happy tears. You didn’t tell them that you could hear them talking throughout your coma, not yet. But you were going to give Robin so much crap about the things he said while you were under.
“Try mocking, (Y/n).” Black Canary urged you to mock. “Let’s see if Batman did the right thing.” She grumbled bitterly.
You opened your mouth, but closed it again. “What if it didn’t work?” You asked quietly, and your fingers fidgeted. Robin grabbed them, his eyes pleading for you to just try.
You inhaled deeply, and gave it all you got. “The snack that smiles back, Goldfish!” There was pure silence, and a huge, beaming smile appeared on your face. It sounded identical to the real slogan and you shrieked with joy. “I can mock again! I-I can still be Mockingbird!” You wanted to jump from your bed and dance, but plenty of them would pin you back down on the bed, so you decided against it. Robin did didn’t hesitate to briefly kiss you again, much to the disgust of the bystanders
“You always were Mockingbird.” A familiar voice came from the doorway. Batman stood there, observing the heart-warming scene. Your reaction was something he expected, but not entirely prepared for. Dynamite comes in small packages, but you were like a giant crate of C4.
Your eye twitched and you clenched your jaw. Yes, you were thankful for getting your powers back, but you were pissed. If you were up and able to train with no setbacks, you would be hurling punches and kicks.
“Listen here, you overgrown bat!” You cried out furiously and you lit into him.
You yelling at Batman was a memory that was treasured and laughed about for years to come. You even kept the recording from the security camera. After a few more days of healing, you got back to training, and then back to missions not long after. Villains and criminals learned to quake in their shoes at the mere mention of your name, especially when it was paired with Robin, and eventually Nightwing.
The moment your life got back on track was the moment your life with your soulmate truly began. Neither of you knew what the future held, which pains and pleasures of life were to come, but all you knew was that your future was one you shared with Dick.
And you were happy with that.
{THE END}
Damn, that series was one hell of a ride! Once again, thank you guys so much for supporting me and this series which might get a sequel series that would continue into season two and kudos to those to made it this far!

Veronica Sawyer (Heathers): INFP
Dominant Introverted Feeling [Fi]: What Veronica wants more than anything is to be free of Heather. She doesn’t like being part of her mean tricks or participating in her bullying. Veronica has trouble with anything that’s phony. When the entire school is grieving over the loss of Heather, even though almost everyone hated her, it makes Veronica sick. When she finds out that there will be a spread dedicated to her in the yearbook, Veronica is appalled. She was pissed about the “love-in” that the school organized. Veronica believes in getting justice. She plans to get back at Heather Chandler by mixing milk and orange juice (and attempts to throw in some phlegm, though she’s unable to produce any). She also conspires with JD to get back at Kurt for lying to people about what happened between them on their double date. Although she did want to get revenge, Veronica didn’t want to kill them. She tends to internalize a lot of her feelings and can be self-destructive when trying to deal with them (intentionally burning the palm of her hand, getting in the shower with all of her clothing on in the locker room). Veronica is quite reflective and regularly writes in a journal to get out all of the feelings she suppresses. Veronica doesn’t want to write a note to torment Martha Dunnstock, because she doesn’t have anything against the girl! Although Veronica does comply with Heather’s demands, she has no problem telling her off when she believes it’s necessary. She eventually comes to hate what JD has turned her into and when she feels he’s gone too far, she walks out on him. Even though she’s become popular, Veronica doesn’t forget her former friends, and takes time to have a conversation with Betty Finn, before being pulled away by Heather Chandler (“I was talking to somebody!”
Auxiliary Extroverted Intuition [Ne]: Veronica isn’t satisfied with the way things are, and tends to envision what could be. She dreams of a world without Heather and “just wants her high school to be a nice place.” She wants people to be good to each other and hates being part of a clique that terrorizes social misfits. Veronica is a gifted writer and is able to use her skills to craft “suicide” notes for the classmates she accidentally helps to kill. Veronica is metaphorical and uses vivid analogies, particularly when writing in her diary. She wants change and nothing anybody does is making a difference. Between her call to Hot Probs, and the fact that Heather Duke and the rest of the school were teasing her for it, Veronica knew to run after Heather McNamara, fearing that she might attempt to kill herself. Veronica is able to come up with ideas – such as pretending to commit suicide so JD would think she was dead. Sometimes, she has trouble seeing how things will play out (not realizing JD’s deception, failing to see that killing one popular person will result in another one taking their place, causing an endless cycle). Veronica uses her creativity to do things differently. Sure, we could just have sex on the neighbor’s swing set, but playing strip croquette would be a lot more fun. Even though she’s never forged a suicide note before, the words seem to flow out of Veronica effortlessly and poetically.
Tertiary Introverted Sensing [Si]: Although she does stand up to Heather, Veronica keeps going back to her. She’ll lash out at her one day, and go running back the next. She seems to regret the choices that she’s made that have landed her in her current situation and longs for simpler times. When Veronica begins to struggle with what she’s done, she seeks comfort by reaching out to an old friend – Betty Finn, after ditching her for the Heathers. Veronica pays attention to detail, as she points out that Heather Chandler would never use a word like “myriad” in her suicide note, since she missed it on the vocab test. She also points out that Heather would never drink anything that looked like the liquid drainer.
Inferior Extroverted Thinking [Te]: When Veronica decides she needs to do something to stop JD, she begins a quest to take him down and prevent him from blowing up the school. She sets out to do whatever it takes to stop him, even going so far as to shoot him. Veronica is direct, blunt, and has no problem asserting herself. It’s hard for Veronica to navigate within Westerburg’s established social structure and seeks to fix the problem, although she ends up doing more harm than good in the process by accidentally eliminating multiple classmates. Veronica wants to make a difference and enact real change, but her attempt to push back and rebel against the system gets entirely out of hand (“My teen angst bullshit has a body count.)
Note: I typically see Veronica typed as either an INFJ or an INFP. I don’t think she’s an INFJ, but I strongly considered ISFP for her because she can act impulsively and fails to consider the consequences of her actions. I see her as more future-focused than living in the present. Her solutions to things tend to be less “creative” than JD’s (milk, orange juice, and phlegm cocktail versus liquid drainer). She also says that killing Heather wouldn’t solve anything, instead suggesting to just “grow up, be adults, and die.” She takes what JD says at face value and believes his story about the “Ich Luge” bullets, failing to realize that he’s lying to her about the plan regarding Kurt and Ram. When she berates herself for being stupid, JD suggests that she “believed it because she wanted to believe it.” She denies this, and we don’t really know for certain what the truth is. I’ve seen this movie more times than I can count, and can literally recite every single line, yet I still don’t feel as confident about Veronica’s type as I should. I could probably construct a fairly decent argument for ISFP, but I’m sticking with INFP for now.
Enneagram: 4w5 7w6 8w9 Sx/So
Quotes:
Veronica: Dear Diary, I want to kill. And you have to believe it’s for more than just selfish reasons. More than just a spoke in my menstrual cycle. You have to believe me.
Veronica: Betty Finn was a true friend and I sold her out for a bunch of swatch dogs and Diet Coke heads. Killing Heather would be like offing the Wicked Witch of the West. Wait, East. West! God, I sound like a fucking psycho. Tomorrow I’ll be kissing her aerobicized ass, but tonight, let me dream of a world without Heather. A world where I am free.
JD: Thank you. That was my first game of strip croquet.
Veronica: You’re welcome. It’s a lot more interesting than just flinging off your clothes and boning away on the neighbor’s swing set.
Veronica: What a night. What a life. They wanted to move me into high school out of the sixth grade because I was supposed to be this big genius. And then we decided to chuck the idea because I’d have trouble making friends, blah, blah, blah. Now blah, blah, blah is all I do. I use my grand IQ to decide what color gloss to wear and how to hit three keggers before curfew.
Veronica: Oh, the cops. I can’t believe this is my life. Oh my god. I’m gonna have to send my SAT scores to San Quentin instead of Stanford.
JD: All right, just a little freaked here. At least you got what you wanted, you know?
Veronica: Got what I wanted? It is one thing to want somebody out of your life. It is another thing to serve them a wakeup cup full of liquid drainer.
JD: All right, we did a murder. Now that’s a crime. But if this were like a suicide thing, you know?
Veronica: Like a suicide thing?
JD: Yeah. I mean, you can do Heather’s handwriting as well as your own, right? Right?
Veronica: You might think what I’ve done is shocking.
JD: Um, to me, though, suicide is the natural answer to the myriad of problems life has given me.
Veronica: That’s good, but Heather would never use the word myriad.
JD: This is the last thing she’ll ever write, she’s gonna wanna cash in on as many 50-cent words as possible.
Veronica: Yeah, but she missed myriad on the vocab test two weeks ago.
JD: That only proves my point more. The word is a badge for her failures at school.
Veronica: Oh. Ok, you’re probably right. People think just because you’re beautiful ad popular life is easy and fun. No one understood, I had feelings too.
JD: I die knowing no one knew the real me.
Veronica: That’s good. Have you done this before?
Veronica: Can’t you see these programs are eating suicide up with a spoon? They’re making it sound like it’s a cool thing to do.
Veronica: All we want is to be treated like human beings, not to be experimented on like guinea pigs or patronized like bunny rabbits.
Veronica: God, you’re an asshole. Mute him. Heather, how many networks did you run to? What are you talking about? You hated her, she hated you.
Veronica: Ram and I died the day we realized we could never reveal our forbidden love to an uncaring and ununderstanding world. The joy we shared in each other’s arms was greater than any touchdown. Yet we were forced to live the lie of sexist, beer guzzling, jock assholes.
JD: Look, you believed it because you wanted to believe it. Your true feelings were too gross and icky for you to face.
Veronica: I did not want them dead!
JD: You did too.
Veronica: I did not!
JD: Did too!
Veronica: I did not!
JD: Did too!
Veronica: I did not!
JD: Did too!
Veronica: Did not!
JD: Did too!
Veronica: Did not, did not, did not! Shut up! I did not want them to-
JD: Come on, you did, you just-
Veronica: Mary had a little lamb, little lamb, little lamb!
Veronica: Dear Diary, my teen angst bullshit has a body count. The most popular people in school are dead. Everybody’s sad, but it’s a weird kind of sad. Suicide gave Heather depth, Kurt a soul, Ram a brain. I don’t know what it’s given me, but I’ve got no control over myself when I’m with JD. Are we going to prom or to hell?
Veronica: Hi, I’m sorry. Technically, I did not kill Heather Chandler, but hey, who am I trying to kid, right? I just want my high school to be a nice place. Amen. Did that sound bitchy?
Veronica: That thing this afternoon. I’m so angry! It was chaos, fucking chaos.
JD: What are you talking about, huh? I mean, today was great! Chaos is great! Chaos is what killed the dinosaurs, darling. Face it, our way is the way! We scare people into not being assholes!
Veronica: Our way is not our way!
[JD shoots the radio]
Veronica: That’s it, we’re breaking up!
JD: What? But you can’t bring them back, you must know that.
Veronica: I am not trying to bring anybody back except maybe myself.
Veronica: And to think there was a time when I actually thought you were cool. Man, if you can’t deal with me now then just stay home and shoot your TV. Blow up a couple toasters or something. Just don’t come to school and don’t mess with me!
Veronica: Heather told everyone about Heather. Yes, Dear Diary, I’ve cut off Heather Chandler’s head and Heather Duke’s head has sprouted back in it’s place. Like some mythological thing my eighth grade boyfriend would have known about. Heather’s even doing the old note trick. I’ve seen JD’s way. I’ve seen Miss Pauline Fleming’s way. And nothing has changed. I guess that’s Heather’s way. And Jesus, what about JD? I can’t get him out of my head.
Veronica: Heather, you’re throwing your life away to become a statistic in the US-fucking-A today. Now that is about the least private thing I can think of.
Heather McNamara: What about Heather and Kurt and Ram?
Veronica: If everyone jumped off a bridge, would you?
Heather McNamara: Probably.
Veronica: If you were happy every day of your life you wouldn’t be a human being, you’d be a game show host.
Veronica: Dear Diary, last entry. No one can stop JD. Not the FBI, the CIA, or the PTA. He once told me that the extreme always makes an impression. Well now it’s my turn. Let’s see how the son of a bitch reacts to a suicide he didn’t perform himself!

Tips
Immerse yourself as much as you can and make Japanese part of your daily life. Incorporating Japanese into your daily life will help you to subconsciously process the information as you're experiencing it everyday. Examples include:
(post-it) notes everywhere!
changing language settings on devices
reading news, books, manga, magazines etc.
listening to the radio, TV, podcasts, anime, etc (mixing your audio Japanese resources in between your music could also be helpful, try to resist the urge to skip)
studying/watching/listening when you're doing other activities like chores, cooking, exercising, waiting for he bus
talking to yourself, your pets, a plant in Japanese.
Programmes like Anki, Memrise, Quizlet could be helpful as they can be picked back up throughout the day or after focus is lost, and they are particularly useful for vocabulary, kanji ,and kana memorisation.
If possible, to try create your own learning/study space that is made for studying specifically. Have all of your resources you need there too (including water and snacks) to limit yourself getting distracted/losing focus when you need to leave to get something.
Find a study buddy that can help keep you motivated, focused, and supported (online or in real life).
Boost internal (intrinsic) motivation.
Try to turn your studying into a habit by making it part of your routine. These don't have to be crazy, they can be something like:
listening to Japanese music when you're getting ready in the morning.
ten minutes of kanji study before lunch
using Anki/Duolingo etc. while you're waiting for or on the bus to work/school
listening to a podcast, music etc. while working out.
Make use of stim toys while studying/walk around while studying/ practise writing a word/kanji/hiragana repeatedly during listening practise etc.
Switch up your routine, study in a new place, have a different method of studying each day.
Mnemonics and stories for vocab and kanji are very helpful and often very fun and they may be able to keep your focus!
I really hope this helps anon and please feel free to reach out if you have any further questions/comments! (*^▽^)/

Poem (Jughead Jones)
Please don’t repost anywhere without my permission! (or I’ll hunt you down)
Summary: somehow Jughead’s strange behavior and your poem are connected with each other.
Pairing: Jughead Jones x reader
Word count: 1,028
Note: please note some words are BreE as I’ve only learned only this variation at school and I mainly use British vocab rather than American. Thank you!
PS. I love Betty and Juggie so much but I wanted to explore something new. Hope you won’t get mad at this x reader pairing XD *hides in the closet*
Ps. Idk if there is a subject in the USA schools called “creative writing” but bear with me for now XD
Masterlist
------------------------------------
Riverdale was never your home. You felt like a stranger there, even though you had been roaming these familiar streets and hallways for a year now. Almost nothing had changed since your arrival except one thing – you had friends now. Four friends that were so kind and funny that they made you ALMOST feel in Riverdale comfortable. But not comfortable enough.
It was obvious that the most of your time would be spent with the girls and frankly Betty and Veronica didn’t mind at all. They invited you over quite regularly to gossip or stay overnight. Your friendship was pure and you liked it.
You talked with Archie on a daily basis but it was nothing major, simple chit-chat about the school stuff. Same with Jughead, though talking to him was even more complicated as he barely spoke to you. In general, he was a quiet type, constantly writing his novel and spacing out, deep in thought about recent events concerning Jason Blossom.
But you couldn’t shake the feeling like he sometimes sent you long glances when you weren’t looking, though it didn’t bother you too much.
But recently you had started thinking how sometimes he stopped talking when you arrived or he simply decided that he needed to do something and then go, leaving either you alone, Archie, the girls or all of you. It was suspicious not only for you but apparently to Veronica as well as she approached you on Thursday morning with a wide smile plastered to her face.
“So, (Y/N), do you have a moment?” she asked, leaning on the locker next to yours.
“Yeah, sure, what’s up Ronnie?” You took a biology book from your locker and shut it.
“I’ve noticed a tension between you and Jughead recently, mostly on his side. Do you know anything about it?” she followed you as you made my way through the crowd of students.
“I’ve noticed it too” you agreed with her “But I have no idea what is this all about really.”
“I don’t know him too well though” admitted Veronica “he’s just like, ya know- like he hated your guts or something? Or maybe it is this bright blue ugly sweater of yours that you like to wear lately”
I sent her a playfully mad glare “It’s not that ugly!”
Veronica waved at Betty whom you had seen from afar.
“Sure it’s not babycakes” she said to you and then greeted Betty” Hi girl, what’s up with new hair?”
Betty had her hair in a small and cute bun at the top of her head.
“I don’t know, felt like trying something new out” Betty anxiously touched her new hairstyle “Do you like it?”
“I love it” you smiled at her widely and Betty smiled at you too with. “Really”
You made your way to the biology class and you sat down in the row before Veronica and Betty who sat together in most of the classes. The seat next to you was taken by this very shy girl you almost never spoke to. She arrived just seconds before the bell rung and greeted you with a short nod. You tried to focus on the lesson and what the teacher was saying but Veronica’s words made a thought create and the only thing you could think about was Jughead’s behaviour.
There were, however, very few occasions to actually observe him as you only had one class with him, that is, a creative writing class. He was a top student and you could see he was really passionate about writing. Creating, thinking, imagining as well. But it was writing that put it all together into a soft flow of words.
And today was your lucky day because you indeed had a class with Jughead and during lunch you tried not to look too excited for it. However, your excitement was noticed by Archie, who sat opposite to you and next to Betty.
“Hey, (Y/N) you seem to be all excited” he said, not a note of sarcasm in his voice.
Even though you were sure that the girls had told him about the deviation in Jug’s behaviour.
“Yeah, I mean, I love creative writing” you admitted shyly and noticed that Jughead, even though occupied by writing some notes in his notebook, perked his head a little, listening.
“Oh you do now” Archie gave you the ‘i-know-it-all’ look and you rolled your eyes.
“Yes, Archie, I’ve always loved writing, especially poetry” You raised a brow at his previous mocking remark.
“That’s true, her poetry is good” said Jughead and all the heads turned to him.
Jughead noticed the sudden shift of focus and his shoulders tensed.
“What? I’m telling the truth” he said defensively “Like this poem about the eyes? Touching, truthful and elegant”
“What poem about eyes?” you could imagine Veronica’s smirk before you even looked at her. “Care to share it with us?”
“Like right now?” You hoped this situation wouldn’t end like this but there you are, trying to avoid reading out loud a poem you liked so much and that was quite personal.
“Yeah, we’d love to hear it” said Betty, shifting herself so she would be closer to you a bit.
You cleared your throat as you felt too pressured but nonetheless you didn’t want to disappoint your friends. You slowly took your small notebook with most of your poetry. Most, because all of the poem there were written in the moments of sudden inspiration. However, it was hard for you to remember who the poem about eyes was about. The context of writing it was blurry as well.
You opened the notebook and found the poem. The writing was a bit messy as you wrote it within seconds of receiving some inspiration.
“The eyes” you started and then looked at your friends. All of the eyes were focused on you.
“Once I saw a boy who had the eyes like me,
Raw, wild, like nothing I’ve even seen.
The hatred mixed with grief,
The joy in his eyes was brief.
And there is a story to this tale,
Don’t ignore people who have so much to say.”

Intermediate Japanese Learning Resources
I always see plenty of resources for beginners, but it’s a bit difficult to find resources for more intermediate learners and above, so I made a list of the tools I use most often.
English-Japanese dictionaries:
http://ejje.weblio.jp/ (In Japanese)
http://jisho.org/ (In English)
Watching Anime:
http://animelon.com/ - Not a big selection but a great resource. Can choose any mix of English, romaji, kana, and kanji subtitles. Can speed up or slow down the episode as desired. Click words you don’t know for definitions, make an account to make flash cards of unknown words.
http://www.crunchyroll.com/ - Right-click video, choose “no subtitles” if you don’t want subtitles
http://because.moe/ - Tells you what shows are available via legal stream services.
Grammar learning resources:
http://maggiesensei.com/
http://www.imabi.net/
Google Chrome Extensions:
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/rikaikun/jipdnfibhldikgcjhfnomkfpcebammhp - RikaiKun. Hover over words to highlight them and find their reading and definition.
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/ipa-furigana/jnnbgnfnncobhklficfkdnclohaklifi - IPA Furigana. Inserts furigana over kanji.
iPhone Apps and settings:
Memrise (looks like this) - User-made flashcards for vocabulary
Japanese (looks like this) - A super helpful portable dictionary that works offline and has a built-in vocab learning function
Google Translate - Can translate pictures and is helpful to get the general gist of something if you don’t understand.
Keyboards (this is what the keyboard setting screen looks like)
The Kana keyboard is what most Japanese use on their phones.
The Romaji keyboard is helpful to English speakers who aren’t used to the kana keyboard yet, it’s a regular qwerty English keyboard that will turn what you input into kana and kanji.
The Chinese Handwriting keyboard is super useful if you combine it with the aforementioned Japanese app (the dictionary one), because you can draw kanji and for the most part it ignores stroke order, and even comes up with the kanji if you draw it a little vaguely. While Jisho.org and the Japanese app have built-in handwriting functions, they are a bit finicky and often rely on correct stroke order. I often use this combination when reading.
Random Popular Japanese YouTubers and video streams:
https://www.youtube.com/user/0214mex - はじめしゃちょー(hajime)/ A guy doing random humorous things. Only in Japanese.
https://www.youtube.com/user/HikakinTV - HikakinTV / Another guy doing random humorous things, also a singer. Only in Japanese.

Vocab Practice #4 - 33, 100, 78, 40, 26
Yes, I realize #3 is missing. For the greater part of today I didn’t have internet, so I had to write it on paper, and frankly I’m too lazy to type it all out now so I’m just going to post this for now. Eventually I’ll type it out, although tbh it’s not nearly as good as the current ones.
Also, I’m getting really involved in this new story. Who knows what’ll come of it.
33 - Inexorable
100 - Wizened
78 - Preposterous
40 - Torrid
26 - Hospice
The prince’s eyes fluttered open once again, as they had been for the past few minutes. The faint sound of glass and metal sounded out in the opposing side of the room as the doctor tested and concocted, looking for a cure to his ailment. Torrid work, he was sure, both in difficulty and in excitement; she’d done this a million times over, surely, since she wasn’t probing and prodding him with torture tools he was sure were stolen from interrogation rooms.
To his right was the head mage, whose shoulder he was currently draped over, head snuggled tightly into the crook of his neck. Upon noticing he was awake once again, the mage obediently moved his head, letting the brunette slowly rise.
“Feeling better?”
“Nope. Almost worse.”
What felt like an inexorable pain pulsed through his skull, as it had been for the past eternity, it seemed. Most likely, it had only been a few minutes, perhaps less than that; for the pained time only slows, it seemed. It was terrible, this pulsating in his skull; it felt like a knife had been jammed and twisted over and over again, and he couldn’t be sure it hadn’t been.
Occupying himself was always a painkiller, so he watched the room around him with blurry vision, trying to find an object of interest. Shelves lined with jars full of wizened organs and leeches, desolate animals and the occasional bone or skull on the right, miscellaneous tools, powders, and potions on the left.
That proved short lived, however preposterously, and soon he was back to a throbbing headache and nothing to do. He sighed, thinking it was unfair he would have a headache now, just as he was about to enact an important plan. It had to be delayed; to when neither Anya nor Wilson would tell him, but it must have been.
How cruel of him, more so, to have to delay due to a simple headache. Surely the servants had responsibilities of their own, had their own aspirations, their own preparations, and now they were all fruitless because he’d gotten a slight headache and called the whole thing off for the moment. The world expected too much of him, but he was still a human being; a certain degree of effort was mandatory for even the beggar on the street or the insane locked in their rooms.
Why was he resting here so long, anyway? This place was no hospice, as he’d heard Anya complain a thousand times over; he should be traipsing over garden walls and heading to an adventure; this was no place to sleep, not unless one had passed out, and he was currently up and running, however badly.
“Thinking about something?”
Wilson looked at him with eyes that knew everything, yet still expected his obedient answer.
He obliged.
For a moment, Wilson stayed quiet. Then, in the same whisper the prince himself used, he replied.
“Don’t worry, all they had to do was ignore you, anyway. They can just do that tomorrow instead. And you shouldn’t worry about that kind of thing. Everyone needs their days off, even the hardest pressed of us. You’re already giving in more effort than most people- changing your simple destiny.” He paused.
“Besides, this isn’t just some headache. I’ve seen Anya work with a headache; there’s a reason she brought out that thing, god knows why she needs it…” He spat the word “thing” as though it were a vile taste in his mouth, and the prince immediately knew what he was referring to.
As if to answer his question, Anya turned around with a positively beautiful looking blue liquid held in a test tube. “A long process of mixing and replicating. Anyway, drink this. It’s some kind of internal hemorrhaging, but it’s very minor- unlike every other case of hemorrhaging on the planet, apparently, it can’t kill you. Still, I’m a doctor. Here’s your fix.”
He gulped it down without hesitation. If shimmering light blue had a flavor, he thought this was it; delicious and heavenly.
Handing the test tube back, he felt his vision quickly restore itself; the throbbing pain quickly subsided, as though a spell had been cast.
“Alright, now shoo. I have stuff to do, unlike you brats.”
The two left, happy with the results of both their conclusion and the doctor’s efforts.

Blog 2: All About Memory
Wouldn’t it be easy if we could just look at something and then we instantly remembered it from then on? Yeah, I know it’s wishful thinking, but it would certainly make my life a whole lot easier. I’ll honestly say I’ve probably tried every technique there is to remember stuff. I have vivid recollections of using what Dirksen calls pure memorization” to remember my lines for the American Girl plays my cousins and I would put on for our families when we were younger: I’d just say the lines over and over until I knew them. When I was learning the definitions of vocab words back in high school I would put the words in funny or meaningful sentences such as “Caleb was very ostentatious”. Yep, he was really arrogant. For college classes in science and history I have written my notes over and over until I literally remembered every single thing on them. I’ve also done the typical note card method we’ve all used. But there is one problem with those methods. I don’t remember that stuff anymore. I don’t remember the lines from my play, esoteric word definitions, or random dates and facts about the Civil War. And that is exactly why I want to take a different approach in the way I help my students remember things.
Dirksen used what I thought was a really insightful analogy on the way we store things in our brain. Shelves was the way she put it. Every piece of information that is stored in our memory goes on a certain shelf. We can have some very populated and often accessed shelves. Since I love to bake I’ll use the example of baking. My baking shelf is used often and because of that I remember the information I am storing there because it actually gets put to use. On the other hand, my phone number shelf doesn’t get used too often thanks to the efficiency of the contacts app on my phone. Therefore, I have only a few phone numbers that I can actually remember and in turn retrieve from the shelf. That thinking can easily be thought in terms of how I can help my future students remember information. Because I don’t just want to be a teacher whose students are satisfied with the typical “remember and forget” method that I was so accustomed to using in school. I want them to be able to retain and use the content I’m teaching in ways that will help them for the rest of their life. Here are a couple of ideas to boost my students memory by helping them actually remember the information:
1.) Using an interdisciplinary approach to teaching content. For example, when teaching about cells in biology, not only incorporate it into the science unit, but have students do math problems about multiplying and dividing cells and/or have them write an essay about the story of a cell’s life. That way students are putting their newly discovered information on more than one “shelf” and will be more likely to remember it later on because it gets used more often.
2.) Storytelling. This category, which Dirksen considers a type of memory, seems to always help me remember things better. So, I’m going to assume it would work well for my students too. Whether it’s dramatizing the life of George Washington, or using comics to illustrate how photosynthesis works, as a culture we seem to recall stories easier than anything else.
3.) Giving plenty of opportunities for hands-on learning. This might include dissecting a frog while having students learn about the insides, or reenacting the Continental Congress in which students get actual roles to play. Purely based off of my own school experience, I remembered things a whole lot better when I was involved in some type of hands-on practice. Dirksen also kind of relates to this when she talks about in-context learning and how people remember things when they are placed in the environment where they are performing the task.
Finally, I think I would be a little out of touch with the times if I did not discuss how technology and memory mix. In a lot of ways, I think that technology can actually be harmful to our memories. If you just think about the example with remembering the phone numbers that I used above, technology has, in some aspects of life, taken away our need for memory. Granted, it has made our lives easier, but is it taking away part of our memory functioning with it? I, just like everyone else, love my phone, love my laptop, etc. and am always looking for creative and functional ways to incorporate that tech into my future class. However, I think it requires some degree of, for lack of a better term, digital responsibility. I certainly think tech can enhance learning and make it easier and more accessible for students to gain information both in and out of the classroom. But I also think it’s important to admit that technology is not a replacement for our memories. Just because you can look up anything on Google does not mean there is no purpose to maintaining it in our own memory. The human brain is superior to any computer and we should actually use it. We have memory capacity. Let’s do something with it. So, to sum it up, I totally think technology can enhance learning and even be an aid to remembering things. But that does not mean it is a replacement.
