First up: if a character is a lady’s maid? That means they are my favorite human in the world or I fucking despise them. Anna? Love of my life, has a heart of gold, such a badass, went through so much shit and deserved a lot better. Like from the beginning she’s a total mom friend and she keeps people in line while also caring for them and worrying about them? And she doesn’t give up (on anyone.) and seasons 4-6 did her DIRTY. (Glad she got to commit some treason in the movie) Baxter? Loveliest person on the planet, growth - she arrives and you think she’s nice but don’t know what she’s got in store and then proceeds to adopt Thomas as her little brother and show Molesley what he’s capable of and recover from an abusive relationship and put her past behind her (and also prove Bates’s innocence iirc) and believe in everyone? Both of them are absolute goddesses and hold the downstairs together in the later seasons. And then we flip to the opposite end of the spectrum and get O’Brien who’s so cruel and bitter? And we understand why (ye olde class system and then there’s also bits of internalized homophobia I sense) but she still doesn’t get a redemption arc for the worst thing she’s done (which wasn’t killing Cora’s baby!! I sound crazy, and that was, well, bad. Remorse is shown, etc etc, but the worst thing she did was corrupt Thomas, who arrived at Downton from a background of abuse, feeling completely alone and misunderstood and probably so glad to be away from home, and then making friends with the first person who’d offer him an alliance and they were thick as thieves for a bit but he learned from her that the only way to get on was to step on people and then, after using him for half her schemes, throws him under the bus with no thought to the fact that taking advantage of someone’s loneliness and then fucking outing him... has consequences????) and- yeah. And then it seems that the third time’s the charm thing applied to Cora with maids (as in Baxter was the first maid she had who was a decent person) because Edna is vile (taking advantage of Tom’s grief and guilt-tripping him for living his life, then manipulating her way back into Downton and fucking taking advantage of his vulnerability and raping him? No thank you.)... I have strong feelings... oh also Denker’s like smack in the middle of this scale lol

Other favs include: Sybil!!! My dear fellow INFP and Jo March/Beth March split, my wonderful pansexual feminist youngest sister who had no right dying like that- our lovely socialist Irish husband/older brother (he’s the older brother Mary’s the younger sister I don’t take constructive criticism) Tom, Gwen!!!! you go Gwen be a badass secretary date Lady Sybil come back to Downton having advanced in the world I’m so proud of you what is punctuation ummm Thomas!!! Redemption arcs!!! And I love how you flip between hating him and then wanting him to grow and be happy plus he’s just so well-acted? Oh- Mrs. Hughes (why have I gone this long without mentioning her?) is the literal spine and spleen of the estate and the show would be in shambles without her, I love her a whole fucking lot and she needs more credit. Mrs. Patmore’s kind of an icon too!! Love Daisy, her arc’s great (though again, William deserved better), I really liked Rose, she was a breath of fresh air, good old Dr. Clarkson, Cora’s cool (though so fucking gullible- still she’s great), Violet’s obviously iconic and I lovelovelove Isobel (also they’re married. no I don’t take constructive criticism) and she’s so wonderfully written and acted (especially in terms of dealing with grief and/or authority), Molesley’s cool, not super strong feelings on Mary and Edith, both are very compelling and well-written+acted characters (I like their arcs) but neither are the most likeable. No strong feelings on Robert (stuck up but I like him), Bates (he drinks his respecting women juice except when he doesn’t), Carson (he’s loyal and he’s sweet and... homophobic but he’s alright), Matthew (I liked him!! with Mary...and his opinions but mostly i’m just annoyed he died), etc, mostly positive? and p much none on the later suitors (I like Bertie and Henry okay)

Not many major characters I hate, though I really dislike Jimmy (fuckboy...), Vera Bates, whoever Mary’s stalkery fiance who wanted to bribe Anna to spy on her was called, Mr. Gr**n, Mr. Pamuk, Rose’s mom, and then I think that’s it?

Lili and Beckett Reese, particularly in a crossover au with my friends.

Orphaned at age 18, Lili gets into some Shady Shit to support herself and her 13 year old brother. Years later, Beck isn’t so naive. He knows what’s going on, and he doesn’t like it.

So, when Lili gets him a new iPhone, which he KNOWS she can’t afford, even with her multiple retail jobs (putting all her college savings into supporting them and saving for Beckett’s education left her options fairly limited), he gives her a chance to come clean.

She forces a smile, saying “just a couple extra shifts.” As she turns to leave, he calls out to her, stopping her dead in her tracks.

Beck is taken into hiding bc in the main story uhhh Lili’s work is Dangerous (think government rebellion secret agents with superpowers) and he might be targeted. Milo, a shapeshifter, takes his place in class for a bit (and soren is aware of this)- but the class quickly notices something’s off bc “hey aren’t you and that kid who’s always putting wires in his mouth basically attached at the hip why are you so awkward now”

They become bros real quick tho so people let it go. Something seems Off but it’s not their business

Alchemy and rumor. No, theyre not together- everyone in this story (called the Chaos Squad or just The Bastards) is aro. Found family supremacy.

When they were really little, Rumor was one of the few people Alchemy could talk to. She’s selectively mute, but he’s always been a safe space.

Years later, age 17, due to circumstances i dont feel like explaining, the world is almost fucking empty. Basically, there’s maybe a couple thousand people left (the others aren’t dead, just in space. There were more on earth but uhhh).

It’s either luck or fate that they find each other again.

Rumor is ecstatic. He can admit that he’s been worried- al is strong, but he’s always been a little protective. Of everyone, not just her.

He runs to her, and al flinches. He realizes that it’s been over 10 years- she probably doesn’t even remember him.

(She does. But the years have only made her sm worse, and she can’t fucking speak to anyone anymore. She wants to talk to him, but... the world has changed. She’s changed. He probably has, too.)

helloooo we r back with another child. this one isn’t a total piece of garbage i promise. as always HMU on here or discord to plot or LIKE THIS and i’ll come to u!

[ brie larson, cisfemale, she/her, 28 ] AGNES by GLASS ANIMALS? whenever i hear that song, it reminds me of ROMY HUSTON. maybe because they’re SANGUINE but also OBSTINATE. they’ve been living at mulberry apartments since MAY of 2014 in 512 and have 0 ROOMMATES.

tw: car accident, drug use, addiction, death.

ok so!! romy is one of my few canadian characters oddly enough??? she was born in montreal but grew up in edmonton of all places. tragic for her, really, that place is the WORST.

anywaY she’s always been a v sporty kid!!! she’s an only child so her parents put her in sports to keep her busy and she had no complaints. she tried a bit of everything but stuck with track and ringette. she eventually gave up ringette tho to put her full ass heart into track. she’s a speedy mother fucker. runners high is her fave thing in the world.

her whole life was athletics in high school tbh. didn’t do much outside of school other than track? her social life was practically non-existent bc she was basically being seasoned to become a professional athlete to like......she kind of grew to be a lil awkward. never really learned how to properly make friends. kinda kept to herself.

car accident & injury tw! a car accident in senior year left her in the hospital for what felt like forever and ruined her chances at track scholarships for college. bitch fucked up both legs and had never been more miserable. recovery was slow and difficult and physiotherapy was frustrating and she felt like giving up every day. she just wanted to RUN. when everyone went off to college, she was still stuck in her recovery process. it felt like life was passing her by.

her injuries left her stuck in a rut. one thing led to another and she got herself into a LOT of trouble. drug use & addiction tw! she became a pretty heavy drug user. getting high was an escape from her constant misery and self-pity. she literally moved into a trap house with her gf ava and some other randoms....that was just her life. adsjfdfjk. ppl be getting stabbed and shit and she’s just shooting up and forgetting what planet she’s on. classic edmonton stuff. but very tragic.

overdose & death tw! it was only a matter of time before things went even further downhill. she woke up one afternoon to find her girlfriend unconscious. dead thanks to an overdose that romy didn’t ever see coming. it was fucking awful and the shambles of her life fell apart even more, but it kind of knocked some sense into her. she was guilty that it didn’t happen to her instead. lost bc the only person she really cared about was gone. even though their relationship wasn’t necessarily the best, she ceased contact with her parents after graduation so she had no one. but she went crawling back to mom & dad and they accepted her with open arms and saw she got the help she was desperate for.

she got treatment and completed a 90 day program and she’s been sober just over 5 years now!!!!

it was difficult to stay sober in edmonton after treatment. too many triggers lurking around every corner, so she decided to get a fresh start!!! moved to baltimore, got her own place, started to get her life back together. she started running again which rly helped her with avoiding relapse. whenever she feels like she’s in a rut again, she hits the gym or goes for a run.

so.....she’s basically a gym rat now. a health freak. but she loves it. it clears her head and keeps her going and runners high is still her favourite thing. she got rly into boxing as well.

she has a new outlook on life since treatment!!! she feels like she’s been given a second chance and she’s rly about living life to the fullest. she’s optimistic af and doesn’t deny herself little pleasures.

she obviously doesn’t drink or anything like that but she still enjoys going to bars and dancing and doing karaoke and all that good stuff. she loves a virgin margarita!!!!

even though she’s generally a very kind and helpful gal, she rly is all about keeping negativity out of her life so she isn’t like.....so soft that she’s gonna let u walk all over her u know??? she’ll CANCEL u.

all things considered she really is a tough gal. she STRONG. a very supportive friend. very protective. she can knock your lights out but probably won’t. stubborn as all hell.

fuckin.....always wearing some athleisure shit??? but the bitch KNOWS how to dress up just u wait and SEE.

she’s that rly annoying morning person who’s up at like 5am to go for a run DISGUSTING. every morning. no matter the weather, shes OUT there.

dating is kind of difficult for her??? she’s.....still very much that same awkward gal she’s always been and flirting isn’t her strong suit. she gets v easily flustered and kind of crawls into a shell on dates. she is also kind of closed-minded when it comes to dating tbh??? she misses ava and knows what it’s like to really click and love someone and if she doesn’t feel that instant connection, she isn’t really going to waste her time ig??? if that makes sense. so if she doesn’t feel that ‘spark’ right away she’s not gna keep seeing someone. even tho she really should be out there getting to know people and experiencing new things she’s a major hopeless romantic and she’s waiting for her MOVIE MOMENT that probably will never come

but like....she’s still dated ppl ofc she’s just kinda wary ig
