“Tim?”
Her voice doesn’t startle him, but only because he’d heard the rustling of the sheets and her soft footsteps and the quiet creak of the bedroom door opening behind him. He tears his gaze away from the television – not that he’s been paying much attention anyway – to find Lucy perching on the arm of the sofa behind him. He resituates, turning so his back is against the cushions and draping an arm across her thighs, the fabric of her pajama pants smooth beneath his palm as he curls it around the outside of her knee.
“Hey,” he offers softly, tipping his head back to smile up at her. It’s barely there, she notices, only a small curve of his lips and the slightest of creases in the corners of his tired eyes. Lucy cards her fingers through his short hair, nails scratching lightly against his scalp, and he hums softly and leans into her touch.
“Is everything okay?” she murmurs, cognizant of the late hour and Tamara asleep in the next room.
He offers a one-shouldered shrug. "Yeah just… couldn’t sleep.”
She’s not entirely surprised by his answer. After all, he’s not the only one awake at 1:15 in the morning with – presumably – a lot on his mind. They've both had a hell of a day; she can’t believe less than twenty-four hours have passed since they were having shower sex and making pancakes on what was supposed to be a day off but instead turned into an impromptu undercover operation with Tim’s ex-wife.
Lucy knows they’ve both been avoiding talking about all of it, but she also knows if they’re going to make this work, they need to. Maybe not in the middle of the night when they're both exhausted. But eventually.
“Me neither,” she replies instead. “What are you watching?”
Tim shrugs again and gestures to the screen with a tilt of his head, on mute with subtitles as it plays through an old clip of something Lucy doesn’t recognize. “I don’t even know. I wasn’t really paying attention.”
She hums in acknowledgement but doesn’t say more, and for a long moment they sit in silence, the living room lit only by the light of a single lamp and the glow from the television.
It’s Tim who finally breaks the silence, though he doesn’t meet her gaze as he speaks, his eyes instead staring out the window into the Los Angeles night. “I need you to promise me something.”

Sample of Upcoming "Enhanced Edition" CHICON 2007 Solo Jensen Panel

This is just a small, 1+ minute segment of a larger video that I’ll probably post next week. Thanks so much to the people who watched, reblogged, and/or liked the CHICON 2007 Enhanced Edition Breakfast video! It made me super happy to see some interest, and I know that was mostly thanks to those of you who managed to stumble across my obscure post and reblog it so people would actually see it.
I’ve started working on the main panels involving Jared and/or Jensen from the same convention. Jensen’s solo panel is next sequentially, so that’s what this sample is from. This clip was one of my favorite parts from his panel. I’m including Jared and J2 in the tags because Jensen talks about working with Jared here.
If you don’t have any particular interest in the subtitles, you can skip the wall of text below.
On this sample, I used a much lighter color of blue for Jensen’s subtitles. The more I looked at the shade I'd been using, the more I thought it was too dark to be read easily. It became more apparent to me while working on his solo panel because there’s so much more of it. I’d be happy to get opinions, good or bad. I was really attached to the idea of using blue for Jensen and red for Jared because of their marker tape colors, and I’m pretty sure the previous shade of blue was more accurate in that regard, but it’s far more important to me that the subtitles be readable than that they be symbolic!
If people like this color better, I’ll go back and update the subtitles for the Breakfast video to use the same color for Jensen. Subtitles are a separate file from the video, so it’s not too difficult to make changes and switch the subtitle file out without affecting the video itself.
Speaking of which, feel free to let me know if you catch any errors with the subtitles and I’ll fix them. Also, if there’s a subtitle that I marked as [inaudible] and you’re confident that you know what they said, let me know. There were parts I marked as [inaudible] even though I felt sure I could guess what they’d said based on the context, but I couldn’t hear any sounds or see any mouth movements to clearly confirm it. I tried not to put words in their mouths that they might not have said, and I didn’t want to force my own interpretation on anyone. Sometimes though, there were places where I felt like I should have been able to figure out what they were saying but I just couldn’t get the sounds to make sense to my ears, so someone else might be able to hear those. Other times, I would hear something for the umpteenth time, often when I was focusing on some other aspect of the video and not thinking about the subtitles at all, and suddenly it would seem blatantly obvious to me what they were saying.
As far as issues with the videos themselves, I can’t easily change them after I publish them because it would create a new video link on YouTube and I'd rather not create a confusion of links. However, please do still feel free to let me know if you catch any errors in my added content. I’ll keep a list of errata for my own notes in case I ever do have a reason to update the video. If it’s particularly egregious, I can at least put a note in the video description. (And since this is a sample, if you catch any issues, I can fix it for the full version.)

Have you watched Burn All My Letters? I couldn’t find it anywhere to watch it :( it’s a lot easier for me to find his old movies
Sadly , no :( I havent and is pissing me of the fact that you cannot find it outside of scandinavia. Now , there is a fanpage on Ig that was uploading some clips of the movie with english subtitles ... many were asking the person to please share the movie if they had it , I was one of them , but I haven't gotten any answer yet.
I wish they release it on netflix or max , or some other streaming services ... judging by the clip I saw, Bill did an amazing job.

Disney Plus really do gatekeep the DCLA shows if you don’t happen to be fluent in spanish. Now, because Violetta is english dubbed, it’s more accessible to a lot of people in the world and is easier to find clips of online (even if the english dub is not that good). Plus, it’s dubbed in a lot more languages too, that also has plenty of clips online.
Chatted with a girl who really wanted to watch SL, but she did not have D+. I knew that she was not fluent in spanish, so I told her ”well, there are illegal sites with it in spanish, but there’s no subtitles at all. D+ is your only way to get subtitles.”
And she was like ”I hope to watch it in english so subtitles is not that important!”
So I had to be like ”oh… they never dubbed it in english. They tried, there’s trailers online, but it’s never released.”
She was flabbergasted. ”Why wouldn’t they dub it in english?! It’s the language that everyone understands!”
And, you know, I personally am not sure if I would have liked an english dub, but for some people, that’s kind of important.
Anyway, I guess there are some illegal pages that do include english subtitles, but I am not sure how good they are. I found one that required you to download it and then it wasn’t guaranteed it was in a good quality, or if the subs were real or just fansubs. Really, would you like to watch SL and you’re not fluent in spanish, the best option is D+.
And this girl was kind of like ”either I have to work on my spanish skills or I simply never can watch SL” cause. Well, she doesn’t want to get D+ and I get it. I mean, when I noticed there were shows that I couldn’t watch without a VPN, I desperately went to buy a vpn because I needed to watch it NOW. But a vpn does not cost as much as subscribing to a streaming site (even though D+ I think right now is pretty cheap, although it could just be the campain price they had for christmas. Still, it’s money).

2001′s Petit Poucet (D)
I wanted to share with you a trailer for this movie... And then realized there aren’t actually any on Youtube. There are several Dailymotion videos though (usually when you search for French stuff, Dailymotion is a safe place to check. So here is the Petit Poucet (2001) trailer:

And looking into Dailymotion... I realized that the full movie is on there! Well not all at once - it is present, broken into five different parts. I will not share them in a public post like that - because we know how copyrighted things disappear once they’re shared publically... But if you are interested in seeing the full movie while these videos are up (and are not against Dailymotion) don’t hesitate to ask me, I’ll send you the links.
(In fact I will watch back the movie there one of these days, I haven’t seen it fully since I was a kid)
The closest thing I could find of the “full movie” on Youtube was this review made by an unknown (at least to me) French youtuber one year ago. It is a full-movie review, with lots of clips out of it, and an humoristic ones with the reviewer making a lot of jokes. But unfortunately it is all French with no subtitles... Another element I just found out that might explain the mixed reception and strange perception of this movie... Apparently the movie was created and aimed at a young audience - it was marketed and created as a children movie first and foremost. But the violence of several scenes led to it received a “Not for children under ten” mark, which actually deviated the movie from its target audience. So it was a movie made for children, that couldn’t be shown to children.

I got Rise of The Sphinx for Christmas and I’m making it everyone’s problem
This game can be summed up in the two sentences I said when thanking my mom for getting it for me. “This game is atrocious. Thank you so much for buying it for me.”
More thoughts under the cut. There are spoilers.
Another quick review of this game is: buy it if you want, but do not pay full price for it.
The good: I CAN BE MY BLORBOS. Both Ladybug and Chat Noir are playable in every level. You get to explore Paris. You can switch between characters whenever so I had so much fun talking to everyone and then switching who I was to see how the dialogue change. You can upgrade the stats of both LB and CN and learn new skills, which is nice. The plot is actually pretty good. It proves again that Natalie is the brains of this operation. Using Chloe to create akumatizations in others is not new, but it does make sense. The new Chloe akuma design (Clonika) does slay. I get to beat up Hawkmoth. There are cute little character moments. Ladybug and Chat Noir talk throughout the levels and while some of it gets old most of it is cute. DID I MENTION THE BLORBOS?
The bad: It plays like a PS2 game. The models are...questionable. There is a good amount of time spent watching loading screens and things still phase into the levels. I jumped in the wrong spot on the Clonika level and clipped through the level and couldn’t get out so I had to redo the whole thing and I was almost at the end of it. You can’t control the camera and it sucks ass. There were several times I had to do a leap of faith or run ahead without being able to see where I was going. Collecting items and orbs is a big part of the game so it sucks that you can’t freely look around. Some areas of the levels were really laggy. This was worst in boss fights but would also happen sometimes when I was just walking around and I was like, I’m not even doing anything? There was one platform section in the last level with some orbs that I gave up on because my jump was so messed up and I also clipped through and slid off the platform without moving several times. The combat was very lackluster, lots of button mashing and standing around until you could get a hit in on bosses. IS THAT WHAT YOU THINK A SPHINX IS? THAT IS MOTH. SHOULD HAVE BEEN CALLED RISE OF HAWKMOTH. COME ON. There is a flashback that explains how HM came to be (Natalie and Gabe are stuck on finding the cat and ladybug miraculouses and Gabe decides that using one miraculous might bring out the others), he makes a huge giant sentimonster moth. It sets up Miracle Queen and the big change of status quo that follows. His RISE in power, perhaps.
The meh: There are A LOT of collectibles. Some are right in your path, which is nice for the literal children playing this game. Some require more exploration or replays. It was nice that exploring was rewarded somewhat. Sometimes there would be a little area you could go to and there would be nothing there and I would be like why did you make it so I could go here and then not put anything here? Like this an obvious spot for a collectable and there’s nothing? In general the levels also go between rooftops and the street and it’s not always clear when jumping down is encouraged and when it will kill you. The game is very forgiving of that, though. Each akuma transforms Paris and honestly I really liked some of then new elements that each akuma brought. It was weird to have such empty levels and not interacting with the akumatized villain until the end in most cases. I really liked seeing the lucky charm each time and how LB and CN used it but it could just be cut scenes without the QTEs. The little comments were cute but did get old. There is one for CN where the subtitle says Woohoo but it’s more like a deranged giggle and it makes me want to come for Bryce Papenbrook’s kneecaps. As for Christina, Mari has one “awesome!” that I found grating. Other than that the voice acting is great!
TL:DR The game is clearly a cash grab made to capitalize on children who will beg for anything with Ladybug and Chat Noir on the packaging and plays like it. The quality is poor and the game play is simple. However, you do get to be your blorbos, the story is solid, and there are cute character interactions so if that’s what you’re looking for and you have the cash to spare, go for it.

may i ask what you use for amvs? and how you do them?? they always turn out so good but i know a lot of it is how hard you work on them
yeah ofc!! i use a computer program called lightworks (it’s free for video quality up to 720p and then like- $10 a month for 1080p and above which is what i do). when i started amv editing there was like- well i couldn’t find anything that people used but i finally found lightworks and it worked great for someone that had 0 experience alsjdkfjd. but basically i use a youtube to mp3 converter to get the song file, gather my clips, and then just stick ‘em in lightworks and move the clips to line up with the parts of the song :) there’s also a way to add subtitles and all that in the program itself !
#i know some people get adobe premiere or whatever through school or work but i did not so . free version of software was the way !#also if u end up going this route u can always dm me for any help or anything :D#asks

i’m gonna cry my torts professor assigned for us to listen to a virginia supreme court oral argument but it’s just an audio clip and i need subtitles and i could NOT find a transcript online so i emailed my professor like Hey do you have a transcript perchance? and he was SO apologetic that he couldn’t find one and outraged that the court didn’t provide one and was looking into how to upload to youtube to at least get automated captions and THEN he followed up to let me know that he’s reached out to the attorney who gave the oral argument in case she had a transcript and 😖 i was literally just expecting a ‘no worries i won’t cold call you tomorrow’ he’s just so KIND

For the gif ask-box game: 13, 19, 34!

Where or from whom did you learn how to gif? I started out making the most busted ass gifs you’d ever seen in your life through wildly inefficient trial and error (shit like pausing a video clip at uneven intervals to manually take screenshots of frames, then compiling them all into a folder and opening it in GIMP to add subtitles and other adjustments frame by frame - reeeeally terrible). I probably only had the patience for this since this was back in 2010ish when the gif file size limit was like 0.5 MB, so you really couldn’t squeeze in many frames without some serious sorcery (and/or making everything greyscale and cutting out huge swathes of the background). At some point though I went “there has to be a better way than this” and started looking up tutorials by other infinitely more competent gifmakers (something something standing on the shoulders of giants) and eventually migrated over to photoshop, and the rest is just a decade+ of very slow tweaks (and hopefully improvements, my god, some of my old gifs have me Marge Simpson Hiding Face Meme dot png).
What is your gif’ing process like? Gif’ing little bits of dialogue is generally the simplest - I gather my footage, write out the transcript of what is being said in my Notes app, block out how the text will be divided/how many gifs the set will be, then import the frames to photoshop and figure out what kind of coloring I’m dealing with. Some games are a lot simpler and only need some basic Brightness/Contrast adjustments, but others (Dishonored, Control, etc) need more Curves/Color Balance/Selective Color/etc layers to try and neutralize any particularly strong filters/effects to dig out more natural or visually interesting colors underneath. From there it’s a matter of adding subtitles, checking the timing, making sure the loop isn’t too jarring, cutting down the file size if needed, then exporting and checking how it actually looks on tumblr and making any final adjustments based on that (usually adding some extra brightness layers or tweaking the frame rate).
Sets with any sort of typography effects take a lot longer because i am Very Bad at them, and sets compiling lots of different scenes usually end up with me having to load up/replay various parts of the game a bunch of times to get more footage when i inevitably realize it would look more balanced with shots X, Y, and Z viewed from another inch to the left or whatever.
A set that took you a long time/was really hard but you’re really proud of how it came out. The Dishonored 10th anniversary set for sure, it was the double whammy described above of being very bad at typography and also needing to retake a bunch of footage or just find alternate scenes that the text would fit in/around better. I started that one like a week in advance specifically because I knew it would be a pain in the ass, and it was, but also Anything For You, Dishonored 2012 Dev. Arkane Studios, My Beloved

Van Der Wulff: The Blackout

After all of us had dispersed into different areas of the schools second floor, we received the texts. Lux hadn’t made herself known besides a few judge texts here and there so it was only a matter of time before she graced us with her presence once more.
~ Kay ~
“A song that portrays strong emotion.” Tatiana repeated the note Sikowitz gave us. We sat in one of the music rooms, Tatiana at the drums, you in Xaviers lap and a guitar in your lap. Robin stood behind him by the window and Damien and I sat together on the tattered couch. “Any ideas?” While the band discussed ideas I received a text message.
‘Hey girlie, I missed you. But don’t think I could ever forgot about you all. I was just doing some digging and look what I found...’ A video followed the text and I quickly slipped in my AirPods, snuggling myself casually away from Damien’s eyes. The video showed the camera in a dark area with three slits of light. A locker maybe? But its not the visuals that caught my attention. The language was in Korean but the subtitles on the video made the translation clear. It was Taehyung and Jungkook. Taehyung was explaining what happened between me and him during the summer just before Yoongi left to Korea and just after our breakup. I was feeling lonely and so was he and hooked up. not had sex but if Namjoon didn’t catch us thats where it would have gone. Namjoon had kept his mouth shut and so had Taehyung - so I thought. But this video went into enough detail to really make me look bad and she had it.
‘What do you want?’
‘Something simple’ she replied quickly. ‘To welcome TOP back into your fucked up little life I want you to live on the wild side for a bit.’ I scoffed at my phone, Damien looked at me curiously. “Ignore me, funny tiktok.” I lied. My phone buzzed and I got my assignment. ‘Wanna keep your little betrayal in the dark? Take the two pills I left for you in your locker.’
‘I don’t trust you.’ I quickly typed back.
‘If I wanted to kill you’ she typed quickly ‘I would have done it long ago.- xoxo L❣️’
I put my phone down and sighed. “I’m going to go to the bathroom. its getting stuffy in here.”
“Okay.” Damien stood up ready to walk with me and I shook my head. “Actually Adi can you? Come with me?” you nodded standing up.

You went into the bathroom after I grabbed something from my locker. it was only when you hit your pen a few times as I went into the stall that your phone buzzed with a text message. You absentmindedly looked at it, until you saw the text was from UNKNOWN. Then your heart began to beat hard, so much that you jumped when Selena walked into the bathroom. She looked at you confused but went into a stall. You braced yourself and opened the message.
‘Nice hood, You know I wonder if assaulting you is a violation of Xavier’s parole? What would Mark think if he saw the fingerprints on your neck?’ You looked around feeling incredibly exposed and bitter. It had to be Lux, the bitch texted just like her. It couldn’t have been Shawn, how would he know? You looked down with anxiety looming in your body seeing the three message bubbles. ‘Or what would Xavier do to you when he finds out about yours and Shawns little arrangement?’ The message was followed by a small video clip, It was a shaky video where basically Shawn was admitting to Kurt your new found friends with benefits arrangement. ‘I knew you were a mess but this is a lot. So I'm going to add fuel to the fire! I’ll take care of Xavier for you. But I want you to go to Shawn and tell him you miss him and really sell it or convince your best friend to go back with Taehyung. Choice is yours, can’t wait to see your choice. xoxo L’

Katya knew she fucked up with the house and a long talk with her father over thanksgiving had her ready to be back on track. It helped that Taehyung was gone and that she didn’t have to see Jennie fawning all over him, not that she seemed bothered, instead she turned her affections onto another man. Katya could tell by the way she smiled at her text messages. She thought about bringing that up in the texts she was having with Taehyung. of course, the texts started as a way of making sure he wasn’t going to sue her for destroying his car when she found out about the tryst between the two. But now it was friendly bordering on flirty but she knew others reactions to it so now he was on silent with her last text saying she was working on homework.
She stayed in the library and focused on her math homework while listening to a few songs on Bubble. When her phone buzzed again she sighed looking at her half done homework. She grabbed her phone about to click do not disturb when she spotted the UNKNOWN number.
‘Hey Kat! Still feeling guilty over trying to turn Damien against his girl? How about the fact that on your secret only fans your top customers dated your best friends?’ A picture filtered through the text seeing how much the men actually gave to her only fans and she quickly lowered her brightness, ensuring no one else saw it. Of course she never showed her face in the pictures, and her lack of tattoos made it difficult to identify her. While the subscribers might not have known it was her, she knew it was Tyler and Harry and Liam. She did feel incredibly guilty about this but then again what was she to do? Her family needed money and she was getting enough to take care of her and them. ‘Lets add to that list shall we? Send something sexy to Namjoon. You know he wants it.’
‘He’ll tell Taehyung.’ She quickly typed back.
‘Will he?’ it typed back ‘xoxo L’

The song project had Draven truly thinking about emotion. Forbidden love kept coming up in her head and she glanced at Jiwoo who was laughing across the hall with Matthew. God, last night Jiwoo told her she think she was falling for her. She wished she would have stayed home after the dinner. Negan’s job offer should have been the only thing on her mind now it was filled with thought of Jiwoo. Three weeks ago after the halloween party the two of them hooked up. Draven excuse was she was drunk... until it happened again and again and again. Plus hanging out - But she wasn’t gay. No, that rumor about her had circulated since she was in middle school. No, because when she was with Francisco or Ash she still loved them and their relationship was genuine. And when she and Matthew hooked up she enjoyed it. But why - what about Jiwoo? God. Was she gay? No, she couldn’t be. No she was straight - just curious. Right? Plenty of women experimented. She couldn't be gay, what would her grandparents think? They raised her. God. what if her mother found out? She’d spread it to everyone while saying shit like ‘my daughter the dyke. My daughter the fag.’ She already called her that when she saw Draven two years ago. When Draven had her pixie cut and went through her punk case.
Her phone buzzing pulled her out of her thoughts and she turned away from Matthew and Jiwoo’s jokes. She tapped on the message not even reading who it was from until she saw the messages. ‘Hey Dre, I’m not going to say I told you so but...’ a picture of Jiwoo on top of her kissing at the halloween party filtered on the screen. ‘I told you so. I always knew what you were. It’s okay, I'll keep your secret, if you do something for me. I want you leave a care package for Bella from Makayla Anything you can think she’d like and no cheaping out on it either. I want her to think it came from her too. XOXO L.’
“Fuck man.” Draven rubbed her forehead in annoyance. “Fuck you, Lux.” She whispered. “I wished you fucking died.”

Makayla was in the gym meditating in the large room grateful for the silence. Since last night, her mind was abuzz with thoughts. Rio’s reaction last night sacred her. It didn’t matter to her that he stopped going for Xavier when she moved in front of him. What if he didn't? He had a gun! And was very quick to use it. What was wrong with her? Was she going from bad to worse? We feel free when we escape, even if it be from the frying pan into the fire. She remembered that quote distinctively in her head when she though of Rio compared to Tyler. Tyler cheated on her with her male cousin. Tyler added to her drug addiction. Tyler once gave her crabs. But he never scared her like Rio did that night.
She breathed in deeply ignoring the beeping of her phone in her bag. Whatever it was, wasn’t important. She needed to relax. A knock on the window threw her eyes open and the gym door being opened threw her completely off. She shot up from her mat on the floor, her heart beating quickly. Only slightly calming when she realized it was Rio.
“What are you doing here?” She asked and he smiled at her.
“Its a blackout, darling.” He said casually as he closed the door behind him looking around the empty gym. “I needed to make sure you were okay. You didn’t answer my call.”
“I’m in school.” She shrugged. “I don’t answer when I'm here usually.”
He nodded walking towards her. Her eyes glanced at his jacket wondering if his pockets held a gun. He noticed and smiled at her placing his hands in his pockets. His hands bulged in the pockets showing her it was empty. “So dinner was, uh .... fun, yeah?” his face was playful but his tone questioning as though testing the waters of her emotion. Makayla was never good at hiding her emotions. Whatever she felt was written on her face and the look she gave him made her chuckle. “You’re mad at me.”
She moved towards him “You pulled out a gun, Rio!” she whispered. “Why? Would you have shot him if I wasn’t there? Xavier wasn’t going to hurt anyone!” He opened his mouth. “I want the truth! Don’t bother talking if your not going to be honest.”
Her big brown eyes softened his tone and he put his hand on hers. “No, I wouldn’t.” He shook his head. “I worry about you around people like him. Arianna, Kalyn and Draven can handle men like him but you Makyala, You're different. You are the whole package.” He said and she couldn’t help the small smile that cracked on her face. “Sweet, Talented, beautiful.”
“Thank you, Rio.” she said moving the hair.
“And I learned the hard way about sweet talented beautiful girls with men like him around.” She looked up at him “Theres always someone who tries to take them down. Jealously” he shrugs “obsession, who knows. And you know something? I don’t like that and I won’t let that happen to you. So thats why I pulled it out. Thought it was time this post got an update with more details and clear links.
So you want to know where to watch Ringsy with English subtitles?
First of all, someone better organised than me has created a spreadsheet with episode summaries and references to video names from the following links. It's a good resource to have!

FOLLOW ON WITH
2. This is early Ringsy stuff on VK, how we start the “Enemies to friends to lovers” trope. Worth watching for Easy coming out which is the most beautifully done storyline. It starts with the Ringo/Valentin storyline (hence the RV video naming convention) and are numbered in order.
This has them flirting with the idea of being friends, Ringo actually being a decent human being when it comes to Easy's coming out, and the humanisation of him when he fell in love with someone he couldn't have.
SO YOU WANT THE GOOD STUFF?
3. This is the start of their relationship through to their marriage. There is a gap in the storyline between clips 160 and 161 of a few months. This was when the videos were being posted to Google Drive instead and those links are not valid anymore. The missing storyline includes Tobias' stroke and the whole Leni's father part. I didn't download those and so even I have a gap in my playlist.
But this is the kiosk scam, the falling in love, the relationship and fall out, the Vegas interlude. All the highs and lows of their whole relationship, right up to the wedding. With a gap in the middle.

After that it gets a bit fractured.
For a while, @drea-46 posted clips with English translations by @happyladybug93, covering the storyline of Ringo being arrested and the boys fighting for their family. Drea is still posting clips but the translations have stopped. It’s a scroll back through their blog but they’re there.
@snuggles85nn provided English summaries and commentaries for their episodes, starting with Easy's disappearance in Morocco while Lars was off winning "Summerhouse of the Stars" through to Benedict thinking he was developing schizophrenia. You can find them all under her tag here (reverse chronological order)
@missringsy posts some clips with English translations, usually key and/or cute scenes. Think Ringo being released from prison on his and Easy's wedding anniversary, the boys working their way back to each other.
JANUARY 2023

Where to watch and listen to non-English language musicals?
I’ve been thinking about making a post like this for a while but wondered hm do I want to be giving out links to free downloads of musical audios publicly when really I want to promote people still buying CDs because one, it supports the artists, and two, I think it’s better to own things still rather than just own things digitally. But I found an extra treasure trove I didn’t know about before and I feel a need to share because I didn’t make it, it’s already online, so why shouldn’t I tell people about it? And then this was just going to be for audios and not videos and I was going to make a separate post but figured it would be easier if all the info was on one post. I actually was going to post this on my sideblog @europeanmuscials but I accidentally made the draft under my main blog which meant I couldn’t change it later and I couldn’t be bothered to cope and paste and redo all the images and tags because I didn’t save the images I just copy and pasted them so oh well.
Purchasing
So as I always preface when I share info on where to stream musicals, PLEASE try always support the artists by buying CDs and DVDs! I know a lot of the musicals here are 10/20+ years old and you cannot get the CDs anywhere anymore, but when a new musical comes out please try and get the CD without instatnly looking for a download. You can purchase non-English language musical CDs, DVDs and other merch from places like soundofmusic-shop.de or Ebay, or Yahoo Auctions for Japanese musicals, using a proxy shipping service, I personally use ZenMarket. Those are how I’ve gotten all of mine, getting them off Ebay or Yahoo Auctions means they’ll likely be second hand and there is nothing wrong or weird about buying second hand goods.
Streaming Audio
Spotify. A lot of German and French musicals are on Youtube. I have a series of playlists that will help you find them easily: one is my favourite songs from a bunch of different non-English language musicals, one of songs from solo albums from European and Asian musical theatre artists, and this one which is going to be the most help that is a huge playlist of every single full cast album of every non-English musical cast album I have found on Spotify. Please let me know if I’ve missed any on there and I’ll add them.
Youtube. Some official cast albums are also on Youtube, normally official uploads that match the Spotify uploads. Ones I know of that aren’t on Spotify for example is the original 2003 Dutch production of one of my favourite musicals 3 Musketiers and the 2005 German production of it.
Streaming Video
I want to preface this with how unlike Broadway and the West End, it’s fairly common for European musicals to get proshots and DVD and Bluray releases and so you don’t normally need to resort to looking for bootleg videos and can watch and purchase the pretty official proshots instead.
Youtube. There’s so many different channels uploading them to Youtube that for ease I made a playlist of every full length production on Youtube starting with the ones that have English subtitles. I also have playlists for different individual musicals and misc European musicals that are full of shorter videos: clips, interviews, behind the scenes, concert performances and other videos that aren’t full length production videos. These playlists are constantly updated.
Bilibili. A Chinese video sharing website. It has a lot Asian musicals of course, but European musicals, in particular French and German ones, have a very dedicated fanbase in Asia and so there are a lot of videos on here. You can search for then using the English/Roman alphabet and they normally come up fine. Easiest way I search on there is using the name of the musical/actor and a year.
VK. A Russian social media similar to Facebook. There are multiple fanpages for specific actors and musicals where I’ve found videos, but you can also search over all of VK. You might need an account to do this, I don’t remember but I think you do and that’s why I made one there. Here’s links to fanpages for Drew Sarich, Jan Ammann, Mark Seibert and Thomas Borchert.
Downloading Audio
r/castrecordings on Reddit. It’s a community of traders and you can make a reply to their request threads for the month asking if anyone has the audio you’re looking for, but please check first to see if it’s already been uploaded. I have downloaded many audios off there and I also have uploaded audios to there if I see someone request something that I have because I feel that it’s only fair for me to help others out there when I’ve downloaded things off there so many times. Be aware download links on here often get deleted and so a lot of older posts don’t have working download links anymore, but you can just request for a new working download on the request threads.
archive.org. Now I would never have thought of looking there, but I was on there because they have a lot of old silent films and so I was looking to watch the original Phantom of the Opera film and when I searched Phantom I was surprised by some cast albums that came up. So I wondered what would happen if I just looked at audios and oh I have found a wonderful little treasure trove. User musical_lover_1980 has uploaded over 1 thousand cast albums of Broadway, West End and non-English language musicals and a few film soundtracks. A lot of ones on there I’ve found before on r/castrecordings, but I was so happy to find a number that I didn’t already have. There’s even one Takarazuka album on there, which isn’t a lot but do you know how rare and hard those things are to find. And the Korean Frankenstein musical cast album!!

Tommy and (Y/N), literal steps away from each other.
Their parents use to have playdates all the time, hoping the two children would tire the other out, some days it just made it worse and they both somehow had more energy—!
When they both got older, they both wanted to go for their goals as streamers and YouTubers. They often gave each other tips and tricks that they did on their own streams, yet one thing they didn’t do, was go onto each other’s stream.
It was a bit unspoken that they wanted to do their own channels on their own, though when they both started gaining followers, their communities noticed how similar they were to each other. From there, it was a spoken joke.
“There’s a kid that does his subtitles the same as mine?! That bitch!” (Y/N) slammed a hand on her desk while streaming, smiling mentally. “Fuck off! I’m not a child!”

“Someone does a lot of the same content as you? I’ll have you find, I do it better no matter what.” Tommy bragged.
(Y/N) hit him with a pillow for that one.
It was great to watch both of their communities try to figure out how they were so similar. They tended to have a good laugh when people would say they were copying the other.
When they both started talking to some of the others, they got them to play along with the joke.
“You know, there’s this other child I know, you’d probably like to play with her,” Wilbur smirked.
“I’m not a child!” Tommy protested. “And I don’t need to play with a woman.”

“God, you’re just annoying as Tommy.” Techno groaned as (Y/N) carried on with her ramblings.
“Fuck off, I’m a delight. Probably better than this Tommy character.”
Tommy threw his empty coke can at her for that one, the pair having been hanging out when he got the clip sent to him.
They said they’d eventually tell everyone so they could actually play games together on stream but they wanted that shit to be dramatic.
Cue the DreamSMP.
(Y/N) was hiding off-camera on her phone, scrolling through Twitter, posting a stupid joke as Tommy was helping Wilbur establish a nation. Their parents were planning to have dinner together as they had gotten rather bored in the pandemic so she came over early to just chill with Tommy after the stream.
She hadn’t spoken to Dream yet, but Tommy was determined to get her in the SMP. He would have invited her instead of Tubbo, but they were keeping up the joke.
Then they were joking with Dream about L’Manberg having no woman and Tommy grinned.
“You haven’t invited the woman that’s going to be in L’Manberg!” Tommy said, (Y/N) looking over at him confused.
“Oh yeah, what woman is that? Your mom?”
“Ha, ha. I’ll give you her username and you need to invite her!”
“I don’t believe you; you don’t know how to talk to women.”
“Then invite her bitch!”
(Y/N)’s eyes went wide as she got a ping on Discord from the one and only Dream. Tommy glanced over, grinning. She pointed to come over and he nodded.
“TommyInnit! My best bitch!” (Y/N) grinned as she came over, wrapping an arm around his shoulder.
Wilbur died with laughter as Tommy immediately started protesting while his chat went nuts.
Woman? In Tommy’s house?! And it was (Y/N)?! POG!
She started doing streams with him after that and the chats lived for the pure chaos and the bickering between the two best friends.
The DreamSMP never stood a chance with the two of them on and Twitch couldn’t handle it.
They both quickly climbed and enjoyed themselves with each day.
And with their stories, (Y/N) just wouldn’t let Tommy go off on his own.
“Look, if you’re going to be a sad bitch, we’re going to be sad bitches together.” (Y/N) crossed her arms as he was telling her about his Exile Arc.
“You’re so weird,” Tommy said.
“That’s why I’m friends with you.”
“Bitch!”
He could never stay mad at her long though, because what were buddies for?

SUBMISSION - Grammys performance symbolism, part two
So, with those reservations safely out of the way, and a warning to readers NOT to hurt themselves by getting their hopes up again …
What aspects of Taylor’s Grammy’s performance made me think there might be light at the end of the tunnel for Kaylor?
First, Taylor’s blue and gold performance dress. “Deep blue but you painted me golden” is a line from Dancing With Our Hands Tied, a song that is widely assumed to be about the night of Kissgate. It’s a song where Taylor talks about how miserable (“deep blue”) she was after the collapse of her relationship with Diana and her public reputation in 2013. She describes how her new lover, Karlie, brought her back to life and lit her up with the glow of a new, true love. She painted her golden. But then they were caught in an intimate moment at Kissgate, and Taylor panicked. Her fears and anxieties threatened to drown her, and though she and her new lover tried to dance through the catastrophe, they eventually came to realize they were doing so with their hands tied. They had no hope of swimming to the surface together and breaking free. They could only have done so if Taylor had stood firm and owned their love in the moment, instead of setting in motion the bearding contracts that would change everything. (This is what she means when she says that “if I could dance with you again”, she would “kiss” and “hold” her lover, instead of presumably backing away. If she could do the moment over, she would claim Karlie as her lover, and hold her hand for the world to see, through hell or high water.)
Though it’s a depressing motif in DWOHT, Taylor has, interestingly, returned to this imagery of a golden tie several times in other songs, painting it in a much more positive light. Most recently, the Willow music video explores this, visually representing the “single thread of gold that tied me to you” which Taylor sings about in Invisible String. Both IS and Willow are happy songs, which describe their lovers as being tied together by fate. “Wherever you go, I’ll follow,” Taylor sings in Willow. In DWOHT, the lovers followed each other to a place of deepest blue. The bottom of the ocean, under the waves, where they couldn’t breathe. In Willow they follow each other to freedom.
That freedom is represented in the Willow music video by the open cabin door the lovers step through at the end of the video. Taylor incorporates this door into the Willow section of her Grammy’s performance, performing first in the open doorway and then stepping through it to perform with her band out in the open.
But returning to the blue and gold dress. This is not only a very Karlie motif which keeps recurring in her art (often to postitve effect). It’s also a representation of Taylor finding happiness WITHIN the closet. It’s talking about how her partner’s love helps her to bear the depression being in the closet, and fearing exposure, causes her. The fact that Taylor chooses to wear this dress throughout her performance, with no costume changes, suggests a) she is still in the closet, and b) she is still with Karlie, and still considers her love to be such a lifeline.
If Toe was real and Taylor was happy with him, she could have chosen to wear an all-gold dress for the occasion. If Kaylor was over and she had decided to return to the closet, she could have communicated that by wearing all blue. If Kaylor was over and so far in the past she had moved on with someone new, there was no need to evoke the motif at all. She could simply have laid claim to another color, or worn another prairie type dress to fit the aesthetic. And yet, she didn’t. Why not, if not to communicate what I said above?
What else is worth considering, in Taylor’s medley? Well, there’s the cabin setting. Taylor and Karlie famously took a trip to Big Sur forest and stayed in a cabin together in 2014, where Karlie was the first person to hear 1989 in full. They took many photos on the trip, including one captioned with “on the way home” (a lyric from You Are In Love, which talks about hearing love in the silence) and one of the two of them looking up at a fallen tree. A VERY similar looking tree appears in the Cardigan music video, and the slanted, moss-covered roof Taylor opens the medley lying on also looks a lot like this tree. Again, curious that she would call back to this if she and Karlie have separated.
Moving on. Taylor opens the medley singing on the roof, looking straight up into the camera. When we pull back we see the stage around set to that of a starry night. Taylor is thus cast as the romantic, the star-gazer. She also calls back to another lyric Kaylors have previously tied to Karlie - “up on the roof with a schoolgirl crush”. It’s been repeatedly tied to Karlie and Taylor’s attendance at the Victoria Secret show after-party. Again, why evoke imagery so tied to the early, happy days of this relationship?
We then move through a progression of events that sees her hiding inside with friends, before eventually stepping out into the light. That all reads like a visual interpretation of her relationship with Karlie, from her early loneliness and lovestruck dreaming, to the happiness she finds within her little hideaway, to her eventual decision to step out of it and claim her lover. The medley ends on a repetition of “that’s my man”, seemingly hinting that Taylor’s freedom is tied up in her ability to finally say those words.
What else? Well, there are the Ivy allusions. Taylor’s cabin covered in greenery can’t help but evoke the lyrics of Ivy - “my house of stone, your ivy grows, and now I’m covered in you”. Ivy is widely interpreted as a sapphic song about two women finding love despite their commitments to men. Another line in the song “he’s in the room, your opal eyes are all I wish to see, he wants what’s only yours” is alluded to in Taylor’s choice of opal jewelry on the night. What a weird thing to draw attention to, if you’re not secretly in love with a woman while parading a beard around in public. We’re also told in the song that “he” (possibly the same man, possibly another) wants to burn the house of the Ivy lovers down. Jerk just so happened to announce the baby’s birth on this night, in what felt like an attempt to undermine Taylor’s joy. Hmm. Curious.
You know what else is curious? Taylor’s choice of outfit for the Grammys red carpet. Not only is the floral dress very reminiscent of a floral ensemble Karlie wore to cover a June (pride month) issue of Spanish Vogue. (Cover subtitled, “flowers of change”.) It’s also by the designer Oscar de la Renta. Taylor and Karlie famously attended one of his shows together early on in their relationship. They sat in the front row looking very cozy, while Taylor refused to answer questions about why she was there and reportedly giggled “my publicist will be mad at me”. Hmm.
Taylor has also worn Oscar de la Renta on numerous occasions while out with Karlie, including most famously at the Met Gala. That iconic pale pink gown that she was buried in the Look What You Made Me Do music video? That was an Oscar de la Renta. There are many interpretations of the scene in the video, but it’s worth noting that Taylor is buried alive in it (which could be interpreted as a metaphor for being closeted) and that in a video all about her various revenge fantasies, she depicts herself crawling back up out of this grave. She views coming back to life and walking away from the flaming wreckage of her past with Big Machine as the ultimate revenge. At the end of the video she clips her own wings while all the past iterations of her argue amongst themselves. This would seem to suggest that she can defeat her enemies but she can’t defeat herself, because she can’t outrun her past, and until then she will always be doomed to self-sabotage. Nevertheless, this Taylor (lurking in the background bedecked in peaced-out palm tree print) is in a much better position than the Taylor who opened the video as a zombie corpse. She’s on the surface and has some hope of freedome, at last. This is a theme we see carried through in the following video, where Taylor goes one-on-one against herself and eventually breaks free.
Long story short? Taylor wearing such a floral, literally blooming dress from THIS designer, of all people, suggests she may finally be about to rise again. The aborted coming out apparently planned for the Lover era (and thus seeded during the Rep era) may finally be a go?
Again, I’m very reluctant to get people’s hopes up here. But it’s hard to look at this dress and not think of that June (Pride month) floral magazine cover. Or of the Spade riddle, “Why worry? She blooms in June.” Or of the fact that Taylor’s stunts are often loudest before the end. She acknowledged Calvin and hugged him at an awards show before he was booted out of the narrative and Tom H appeared to replace him. (Something like ten days or so after the “split”, if I remember right?) And the inconsistencies of the Toe timeline speak for themselves. There was speculation - unpopular though it was - among Kaylors in the Rep era that guessed Taylor wouldn’t come out until 2021 / 2022. It seemed a world away at the time but who knows? Maybe this was always the plan. Maybe this is all “part of the fucking story”, even the parts that seem ugly or counterproductive. A lot can change in a couple of months in Hollywood, and with Taylor in particular. By June, it’s possible we COULD be looking at a vastly different landscape. Maybe this was one last hurrah for the Toes. Many of them are just harmless fans taking Taylor at her word, after all.
Only time will tell, and I don’t blame Kaylors for checking out. This isn’t healthy, especially for those of us who are gay ourselves, and can’t help but feel a personal connection to Taylor’s journey out of the closet. We know what a big deal it would be. But for those who still want to hope … It’s just possible Taylor has a plan, and this is the dark night before the dawn.
