OKAY PERCY JACKSON EPISODE 6 THOUGHTS (long post)

i was definitely a bit weary of the big changes: the fact that the summer solstice deadline passed and that percy gets 4 pearls. but after thinking about it for a while i think im actually okay with it!! first of all, its making the show interesting for book readers bc they caught me off guard and now we don’t 100% know how it’s going to play out lol

but also, i like that the deadline passing raises the stakes a bit more. the fact that percy still wants to go get the bolt from the underworld, just shows how committed he’s become to the actual goal of the quest and starting to embrace his demigod side. and it’s going to make his trip to olympus at the end so much riskier & dangerous considering a whole war is literally about to start. so im okay with this

and then the 4 pearls: i still don’t think they’re going to be able to take sally with them out of the underworld. something is definitely going to happen to 1 of the pearls, it’s going to get lost in the chaos of them making it to hades’ palace or SOMETHING because a big part of the prophecy is “fail to save what matters most in the end”. they have to leave sally behind and i think it’s going to be so much more heartbreaking that percy HAD 4 pearls and HAD the chance to save his mom but they lost 1 along the way so then they’ll have to make the tough decision and TRULY fail to save what matters most… bc in the book it’s not even really an option since he only gets 3 pearls

obviously i could be wrong about that lol but i don’t think there’s any way they don’t leave sally behind because she’s not there on the beach when they’re about to fight ares, which is where they are directly after the underworld (unless they’ve switched the order around but idk how that would work)

other than that I LOVED EVERYTHING with the trio, the bestieism continues and i love it. you can really see the shift in percy and annabeth’s dynamic after the last episode it’s so cute. the little grover and percy moments were so sweet too, their convos felt RIGHT out of the books to me. also MORE SEAWEED BRAIN AND WISE GIRL!!!

LOVE the dream sequence bc it felt so book accurate, we do get a lot of percy witnessing other people’s convos through his dreams and this is the first time we’ve seen it in the show, it was great

luke immediately jumping at the chance to blame clarisse for stealing the bolt in the iris message lol im laughing

more luke/annabeth sibling set up AND hermes and may and luke backstory set up??? i was NOT expecting that so early on but im deeply obsessed

the whole hermes situation was also great… i can’t believe it but i liked LMM’s performance?? i think he sold it really well. again im so excited to be getting these convos about hermes and luke so early on because it is such a key part to the end of the series.

the conversation with percy and the nereid and the way percy reacts to thinking the quest failed??? the way he refuses to give up?? the nereid saying they all see so much of poseidon in him??? i’m unwell

crying at annabeth pick pocketing hermes, the literal god of thieves, that’s my girl fr

the entire cab driving sequence was just so funny. peak comedy, and brought some lightheartedness to the episode that i think was very needed. the new yorker in percy really came out in that scene lmao

there was just SO MANY hilarious moments of dialogue and jokes between the trio i feel like this episode captured the essence of their dynamic from the books so well

overall LOVED it, wish it was longer, and i’m curious to see how they finish it off in the next 2 episodes. i’m trying my best to hold back the criticism for any changes until we’ve seen the whole season, because i think most complaints people have from this ep will probably just be fixed or addressed in the next 2 lol

Silco supports whatever you want, though he will be hesitant if your goals have anything to do with “switching sides”.

Whenever he has a mission, he makes sure you are okay somewhere near The Last Drop so you won’t be hurt or worse.

But if you do fight for his cause, he’ll be a little more lenient.

Just expect him to have Sevika follow you around like a butler to their master.

No matter what, Silco tries his best to NEVER let you get close to Shimmer or the Shimmer factories.

The last thing he wants is for his children to become shimmer addicts.

Unless you help him with injections like Jinx, he won’t let you an inch near the damn drug.

When it comes to Jinx, expect her to love you or hate you.

She can get jealous of the connection you have with Silco sometimes.

If you show her and tell her you don’t mean any harm, she will let you be.

But if you show her and tell her you care for her as much as you care for Silco? Be ready to have a sister for life!

She will protect you no matter what when Silco is not around nor Sevika.

Expect Jinx to do things with you that any sister would do with their sibling.

This includes painting each other's nails, talk about boys, put bombs on Thierem's back, Destroy a building, terrorize Ekko- Normal sibling stuff!

Silco’s men treat you like royalty because of your name.

Some will try to test you or push your buttons, but those who do better expect an explosion coming their way.

In a way, Silco’s men are like your extended family, regardless of how they act sometimes.

They would sacrifice their lives for you.

Silco would sacrifice his life for you.

You’re not just the protege of the Eye of Zaun. You’re his daughter.

You will never be forsaken and will always be loved and cared for.

You know I keep seeing people say Wind is hard to write. Which confuses the heck out of me because he’s all I write, and then one day I made the realization.

He’s easy for me to write because he and I have been in very similar situation. We both been every order of child.

He’s been the oldest, the youngest, and the middle, and I mentally have been as well.

So if your finding Wind hard to write, let me explain a little bit about how the everything child works.

First off, we’re pretty neutral towards everything, meaning you can’t take things to seriously when out of no where a dynamic will change in a snap. Because one moment you might have been the one who was responsible for everyone, then the pecking order changes, and you have to willing let go. Because you know fighting it isn’t worth it. You also have to be pretty neutral to any gab an older or younger sibling throws at you. Because you know the backlash isn’t worth it, and like 75% of the time, you know the parent or guardian will come to your defense, because you’ve the charm of the youngest, but also the responsibility of the oldest. So it becomes this weird mix of not fighting with siblings because you know where everyone is coming from.

However that doesn’t mean we don’t have strong values. We will throw hands with you on the things we strongly believe. If we don’t have strong feelings for them. We kind of just don’t care?

The everything child also has to be super adaptable. You can walk into a room and all of a sudden you are the most qualified person in the world. In regards to mental health, leadership, friendship, relationship, advice, etc. Somehow your existence has made you qualified.

The everything child can be a great leader, however they will never fight for that position unless they are fully aware the other person is unqualified, because you overall goal is to protect. We tend to be however the most skilled, when we are by ourselves because. Because when we have other siblings around we don’t want to outshine any of them, out of love and how much you adore each and everyone.

They can tend to prefer to be in the background, unless absolutely necessary they need to be front and center.

Are a get things done personality, doesn’t matter, we just need to get things done.

Have weird random talents, no one knows about.

Defiantly more willing to rely on others, if we feel safe enough to do so.

So yeah, when your writing Wind you are writing an Everything Kid. Or soon to become everything depending on how you hc the War of ages. You just kind of have to be prepared to switch roles in a snap, and not complain about it. Which I think some people think it’s harder then it actually is?

The Iron Islands Was Never Getting Independence - 6x09 & 8x02 Parallels

So I was rewatching GoT for reasons and I came across this 6x09 scene (love that episode!!!) and I already kind of knew that they were setting up Jon's, Dany's, and Sansa's endgame in this episode, setting them up for their final chapter, but now rewatching it, it blows me away just how obvious it was how things were going to pan out in the end. That Dany would be the final boss. That it was going to revolve around her, Jon, and Sansa. All that.

This scene is one of those obvious instances.

Theon and Yara have always been mirrors for Jon and Sansa since Theon and Yara reunited after Ramsay. For their sibling relationship as well as the power pair they present and represent for their home/family/kingom. In this 6x09 scene, it's no different.

A lot of people have made the point that Dany granted the Iron Islands their independence because Yara/Theon asked while she didn't grant the North to Sansa/Jon because Sansa demanded. They couldn't be more wrong. It's all right here in the dialogue:

Dany: "You've brought us a hundred ships from the Iron Fleet with men to sail them. In return I expect you'll want me to support your claim to the throne of the Iron Islands?" - here nothing about independence is brought up yet but here it makes the dynamic clear: they would need Dany's support for the claim to the Salt Throne, meaning 1) that "kingship" is less than the king/queen of the 7K and it's only allowed to continue for a certain individual if the ruler of the 7K allows it, and 2) she is not coming from a mindset of granting them independence or acquiescing to their request

Theon: "Not my claim. Hers."

Dany: "Oh, what's wrong with you?" - for a woman who wants to rule the 7K in a place she has been told that no other Queen has ruled in (this is right before Cersei takes the IT), it's odd that instead of asking "why is that?" or "oh? interesting" or even being happy about another woman in a ruling position that's granted less than hers, it's an odd question to ask what's wrong with Theon -- I think the writers did this purposely to show a subtle difference between Dany's rhetoric that she consistently sells and how she actually is while also implying she intends to be the only Queen in the 7K, right down to the sub-monarchies (if that's a word)

Theon: "I'm not fit to rule."

Tyrion: "We can agree upon that at least."

Dany: "Has the Iron Islands ever had a queen before?" - oh, suddenly she's interested to hear this fact, why? because it now helps turn up the flames of hope for her destiny so to speak

Yara: "No more than Westeros."

Theon: "Our uncle Euron returned home after a long absence. He murdered our father and took the Salt Throne from Yara. He would've murdered us if we stayed." - what's interesting here is not only are Euron and Dany paralleled this season but also Theon/Yara are the antithesis of Viserys/Dany considering that's what happened to them, the latter two's father was killed in the rebellion/the IT being taken and they would have been killed had they not fled; but it also proves again that Theon/Yara are Jon/Sansa mirrors because Ned was murdered, the North was taken from Bran (aka the future rightful king after the vote in 8x06) by Theon and then it was taken by Ramsay, Bran & Rickon had to flee and then Sansa and Theon had to flee Ramsay

Dany: "Lord Tyrion tells me your father was a terrible king."

Yara: "You and I have that in common." - it's true, they do, but I'm also highlighting this line because it comes back around in 8x02

Dany: "We do. And both murdered by a usurper as well. Will their ships be enough?" - Dany immediately switches gears here - she sees the commonality they have, something she always uses when spreading her rhetoric to gain allies and subjects followers, but switches to "hey, do we have enough or no?" Meaning depending on the answer is what depends on her agreeing to ally with Theon and Yara

Tyrion: "With the former Masters' fleet, possibly. Barely. There are more than a hundred ships in the Iron Fleet." - if this line doesn't have Davos' line from 7x02 "If they break through the wall, do we have enough men to fight them?" & Jon bringing Dany and her dragons North to fight the Night King vibes all over it...

Theon: "There are. And Euron is building more. He's going to offer them to you."

Dany: "So why shouldn't I wait for him?" - this is exactly the same type of attitude we see displayed in 7x03-7x06; after everything she's just heard about Euron so far, no hesitation, "if he's got more ships why shouldn't I wait for him?"; a lot of people defend Dany's reluctance to help the North because of Jon's outrageous claims of the dead walking, she doesn't know who he is right away, and he should bow to her because the North is rightfully hers - but this line right here, it shows she only has one goal in mind and it's not to come to save people from a tyrant or to instill the rightful ruler back on the IT so she can leave the world better than she found it for her people - this is before the reception she gets in Westeros and then the North - it's RIGHT HERE

Theon: "The Iron Fleet isn't all he's bringing. He also wants to give you--"

Yara: "His big cock I think he said. Euron's offer is also an offer of marriage, you see. You won't get one without the other." - we see in 6x10 that Dany is more than well aware that she most likely will have to marry to secure an alliance over in Westeros, the when being the only question besides who - she knew this from what happened in Mereen and how she was going to have to marry to keep the peace before all hell broke loose, she knows this

Dany: "And I imagine your offer is free of any marriage demands?" - so now she's considering their offer, while she says this almost teasingly to Yara, we know that she knows she has to marry at some point and if she can secure the whole Iron Fleet, why wouldn't she? Especially since her single-minded focus is the IT? Because she doesn't want to marry aka she doesn't want to share power (something we see in season 8 after Jon tells her who he really is and how hard she works to keep him in that subservient dynamic by forbidding him from telling anyone) which is also how you can tell that throne room scene dialogue in 8x06 was rewritten in the 11th hour at Emilia's request (something she has gone on record admitting to), it was meant to be Dance of the Dragons 2.0 and it was coming down to one of them prevailing over the other

Yara: "I never demand but I'm up for anything really."

Theon: "He murdered our father and would have murdered us. He'll murder you as soon as he has what he wants." - not only are we getting another Aerys/Viserys/Dany reminder here but now Dany has her justification for not entertaining Euron's would-be proposal and allying herself to Yara and Theon despite their lower number of ships (I don't blame her here, I'm just calling a spade a spade)

Tyrion: "The Seven Kingdoms."

Theon: "All of them."

Dany: "And you don't want the Seven Kingdoms?" - exactly what she has been worried about - she's never wanted to share them so she's making doubly sure

Theon: "Your ancestors defeated ours. They took the Iron Islands, we ask you to give them back." - as Dany will remind us and Jon in 7x03, Torrhen Stark bent the knee to Aegon Targaryen, the original conqueror she's been trying to be the second coming of - this not only has the North vibes due to that parallel but because it also links to 8x02

Dany: "And that's all?" - sounds like here it's simple for Dany, right? Wrong...

Yara: "We'd like you to help us murder an uncle or two who don't think a woman's fit to rule." - another line echoed in 8x02

Dany: "Reasonable." - about killing the uncle

Tyrion: "What if everyone starts demanding their independence?" - not only should Tyrion not be asking Dany this in the presence of Yara/Theon who have not been made allies officially yet, it's obvious they're having him point this out because it's going to lead to what happens in 8x02

Dany: "She's not demanding. She's asking. The others are free to ask as well." - 'which doesn't mean they'll get it' is the end of that sentence

Dany: "Our fathers were evil men. All of us here. They left the world worse than they found it. We're not going to do that. We're going to leave the world better than we found it." - more Dany rhetoric

Dany: "You will support my claim as Queen of the Seven Kingdoms and respect the integrity of the Seven Kingdoms." THIS IS HER ANSWER RIGHT HERE - no independence for you Iron Islands, you're still a sub-monarchy but part of my 7K so no you don't get them back

Dany: "No more reaving, roving, raiding, or raping." - she reaffirms that with these conditions (which I agree with her here but the point is she's making it clear what she expects aka no independence)

Yara: "That's our way of life." - you mean like Dany is about to uproot Westerosi life as we know it in 8x05 and want to continue to do?

Dany: "No more." - "We can't build the new world with men loyal to the one we have." - 8x06

Yara: "No more." - having no choice, Yara agrees because at this point the other Lannisters don't care who sits on the Salt Throne (since they still have Tommen at this point) as long as they get any ships they need so it won't matter if Theon and Yara get murdered while Euron takes over/rules the Iron Islands - Yara knows they're not getting independence which is exactly why this little nugget isn't mentioned in her speech in 8x06 before Arya tells her to shut up about killing Jon

*Yara lifts her arm to Dany, after some confusion, Dany embraces her arm and they shake on it* (aka Yara and Theon get to live another day and hopefully have some dragon power backing them and they have a new 7K Queen)

And then, 8x02:

Dany: "I thought you and I were on the verge of agreement before. About Ser Jaime."

Sansa: "Brienne has been loyal to me. Always. I trust her more than anyone."

Dany: "I wish I could have that kind of faith in my advisors."

Sansa: "Tyrion is a good man. He was never anything but decent towards me."

Dany: "I didn't ask him to be my Hand simply because he was good. I asked him to be my Hand because he was good and intelligent and ruthless when he had to be. He never should've trusted Cersei."

Sansa: "You never should've either."

Dany: "I thought he knew his sister."

Sansa: "Families are complicated." (and here come the parallels to the 6x09 conversation)

Dany: "Ours certainly have been."

Sansa: "A sad thing to have in common."

Dany: "We have other things in common. We've both known what it is to lead people who aren't inclined to accept a woman's rule. And we've both done a damn good job of it from what I can tell."

(I skipped the whole Jon part of the convo)

Sansa: "I should have thanked you, the moment you arrived. That was a mistake." *she leans forward*

Dany *leans forward and covers Sansa's hand with hers*: "I'm here because I love your brother. And I trust him. And I know he's true to his word."

(skipping more Jon stuff)

Sansa: "What happens afterwards? We defeat the dead, we destroy Cersei...what happens then?" - Sansa is mentioning the agreement being honored on both sides, both of their enemies defeated, meaning they've given her her terms at that point

Dany: "I take the Iron Throne." - there's that single-minded goal again and what she really plans (she does not intend for any kingdom to secede from her 7K)

Sansa: "What about the North? It was taken from us and we took it back and we said we'd never bow to anyone else again. What about the North?" - here Sansa asks but she also lays down the line on what hers and Jon's mindset is when it comes to the North (and it's made clear by Arya in 8x04 why Jon really bent the knee to Dany in 7x06) and while it's in reference to the Boltons, it was also Theon who took the North first, and of course Aegon back in the day forcing them to bend the knee - so more parallels and just the thing Dany doesn't want to hear

And sure enough:

*Dany doesn't answer but removes her hand* - answer enough which is cemented by Sansa's expression and her sitting back away from Dany when the Maester interrupts them

And the very next scene, they literally have Theon showing up to ask Sansa if he can fight for Winterfell in the Great War. But first:

Theon turns to face Dany as expected, sees Sansa, and then looks at Dany, bending the knee (aka no independence for you Iron Islands)

Theon: "My queen." (aka no independence for you Iron Islands)

Dany: "Your sister?" - basically her saying 'oh crap, did your sister die? I know she was taken captive but did your murderous big cock uncle kill her? Crap, where are my ships? Why am I dealing with you?'

Theon: "She only has a few ships and she couldn't sail them here. So she's sailing them to the Iron Islands instead to take them back in your name." (aka NO INDEPENDENCE FOR YOU, IRON ISLANDS)

Dany: "But why aren't you with her?" (aka my dude, why are you bothering me? Go get me my land back like your faithful sister)

And then Theon gives us the answer we're expecting when he turns to look at Sansa and then asks if he can fight for her home/family. And we know Sansa is grateful, happy, and speechless. We know Dany is shocked, dismayed, sad, and angry that she's not getting that same type of loyalty/love on this side of the Narrow Sea (8x04 convo with Jon).

So basically, anytime someone says "but Dany was going to give the Iron Islands independence, she agreed to it, Sansa was rude", etc, just point them to these two scenes. Back in 6x09 "Battle of the Bastards" (aptly named and not just for the battle or Jon vs Ramsay) where Jon's, Dany's, and Sansa's endgame are all being set up. 6x10 sets up Cersei's, Tyrion's, and even Jaime's (but that's another post).

Heads up that this HEAVILY unhinges off of my au/hcs so uhuh! I'm not entirely sure how much of this lines up with the current fanon interpretations since admittedly I hardly interact with the fandom outside of my own stuff 😭😭 gotta change that theres so many talented artists and writers

Getting the big nasty out of the way, Zalgo! Technically connected to everyone! I talk more in depth about him, you can find that post in the creepypasta Masterlist! Might be the first one.. but run down is that hes a weird force/piece of nature/way of the universe and is responsible for the creation of monster characters as well as the means for human characters becoming something else (ex. EJ becoming a monster, Ben coming back from the dead). Human characters that remain human can sometimes become what they did (a killer or otherwise a figurative monster) after coming into contact with zalgo, usually unknowingly or indirectly..

He is quite literally their maker more or less, sent out to cause problems in the world

I would assume many different characters would have different thoughts and relationships with Zalgo, even if they can't directly make contact with him. Zalgo bounces between being tangible and not

Eyeless Jack, for example, doesnt know who or what Zalgo is and the name doesnt ring a bell; having been corrupted through a creation of zalgo rather than zalgo itself. Slenderman on the other hand actively resents zalgo for giving him sentience and a human-like conscious.

Jeff and Ben are best friends, it'd be criminal for them to be otherwise. My take on ben is that hes confined to electronics majority of the time. Jeff Carries him around in a phone, or maybe a DS.. I keep switching between both.. maybe originally a DS but made the switch. Jeff met Ben not long after he mvrdered his and Jane's families. Though there is now a rift in their friendship, mostly due to Jeff still being human and is now a grown adult, they still care deeply about each other. More like a sibling bond as Jeff got older

Bringing up Masky and Hoodie! I tried blending them, eith the crp version and their mh source since I love both versions. They lean more towards the crp take, though, given that's what I grew up with.. finding a balance is a bit hard... moving on, they aren't that close actually. Sure they are still proxies in this au, hence the more crp leaning comment, but they aren't.. friends. They hardly tolerate each other in most scenarios, actually. On the flip side, Tim and Brian still exist and have their own lives, whether or not they're fully aware of the fact they're being sort of puppeteered by outside forces is up in the air.. they're still fairly close in contrast to masky and hoodie!

Staying true with the older fandom, tiby and masky antaogize each other. Usually its toby getting onto masky, though. Hoodie and toby have a rather decent relationship, oddly enough. They aren't buddy buddy, but they are civil with each other. Could be that hoodie is no bullshit + doesnt give toby a reaction when he DOES do something to him

Jane and Jeff still hate each other, with Jane actively trying to hunt Jeff down and get revenge for everything. Jane is the only character (with the exception of tim and brian) who has a job and still interacts with society. I had an idea that she and laughing jill team up (to parallel jeff and Ben's dynamic).. though I might scrap that or swap jill out with someone else.. shrugs

Then theres nina! I hc that her and eyeless jack are close friends. No reason behind that other than "their energies contrast each other. Ej is tired and reserved, nina is energetic and gossipy/chatty" and their visual aesthetics contrasting (dark and mostly grey against bright and multicolored).. though I'm still trying to find a way how they'd meet in universe

Nina is also friends with jeff and has a sibling like bond with ben as well. I think she'd still have her crush on jeff, although I'm bouncing between it being faded or just as strong as it was before.. I mentioned I kind of want them to have a tiffany/chucky dynamic but I need to rewatch the child's play movies to get the dynamic for nina and Jeff right 😭😭

Ooooooohhoho still on the nina thought train but her and Jane would have so much beef. Jane hates nina with her entire being for being so buddy buddy with jeff.. whereas nina just treats their rivalry like it's some high school drama, totally unserious

okay so look. everyone knows and loves Xiao and Ganyu's relationship defined as bffs/siblings, him acting as her "scary dog" and her as his connection to a social life but look at me. it's the fucking opposite. they switch on and off.

"But he's the last yaksha, but he specifically says he doesn't like social gatherings, but he can't stand to be around groups of people-" yeah, and why is that.

Xiao was a general, leading entire militias, and worked alongside four other great Yakshas AND had a close enough relationship with them that he could sleep comfortably around them. He knows what their dreams, desires, and hobbies were. He was someone who used to be around others like him all the time. Evil Morty: Melody Of Certain Damaged Lemons

To expound upon this post

It's no secret that Evil Morty's theme is tied up with the album Melody Of Certain Damaged Lemons by Blonde Redhead: It's the album where For The Damaged Coda comes from, but the lyrics of the rest of the album fit into his characterisation, too.

As @trucknoisettes said in a post, Rick Prime is the only adult/only Rick we have seen who actually acknowledges that Evil Morty is still a child...

In S5E10, Rick also says the only "man" who ever hacked his portal gun was EMorty, which reiterates this fact.

However, every Rick has underestimated Evil Morty at some point (and paid the price for it), so "move like a man” really nails home the fact that EMorty is able to get the upper hand because he 'crawls like a child's and then strikes when they least expect it.

Pushing like a father, pulling like a friend

The Ricks and their neediness and their fucked up relationship with Mortys: “an infinite crib around one infinite fucking baby”

Rick is the patriarch of the family, in S3E1, C-137 even declares himself the new head of household in Jerry's absence.

We also saw in the Rick And Two Crows arc that Prime Morty and C-137 Rick played out the same dynamic we see in EMorty's flashback: the arguing. Rick says "it's abusive" but he really does seem to consider teenagers to be his peers more than people his own age are (a point I believe @thesoftboiledegg has made before). He is often more like a friend or sibling to Morty than a grandfather, and certainly not a figure of authority.

“A lie to serve the truth” certainly sounds like EMorty's entire election campaign.

Ultimately, every Morty has suffered similarly at the hands of a Rick, and EMorty tortured and murdered several Mortys in order to achieve his goal of escaping the CFC, therefore perpetuating the cycle of abuse.

Morty already knew all-too-well that getting revenge didn't make him feel whole again, but Rick C-137 was ultimately incapable of letting go of his vendetta and that's what got him killed. Now resurrected, not only is he in EMorty's debt, but he's now all the more aware of the similarities between the two of them.

Thank you to that one anon in this post the other day for giving me the slightest bit of encouragement I needed to justify more jiejie content because I have been thinking about it so much, so I will go ahead and ramble on a bit more about it

I'm thinking about married life for poor big sis... There's this bizarre duality of approaching you as a normal little sibling would, desperate for approval and recognition, yet a complete lack of respect. Like "big sis look at this thing I did aren't you impressed do you love me now... Oh and also get on your knees" -- the switch can, and often does, happen that fast. In many ways, your relationship remains sort of the same as it was... you just have a lot more responsibility added, now that you're obligated to fulfill their needs. It's like heaven for the boys... before they were so limited, only able to grope big sis in her sleep and spy on her naked, and to be able to go from that to having full permission to fuck her at any moment... it's surreal, and feels like a blessing.

You don't really remember the first few days, actually. You're fairly certain it's because you were in some state of shock or disbelief or something like that, and that's probably for the better that your only memories of the first night or so is just you not struggling too much -- you knew there was no point -- and that you were more or less mentally consumed by the sheet willpower to take it and alleviate your discomfort to the best of your ability. Not that you weren't still stretched out and sore for days on end... and not that that soreness excused you from needing to get right back to your responsibilities the next day.

If you thought things were bad before... it's infinitely worse now. See, for the average young man, once they've had a mere crumb of pussy in their lives, they tend to become addicted to it. It seems like each time in your life you think "I really can't get any time to myself!", fate seems to find a way to make it so much worse that you bitterly laugh at how you thought before was bad, and wish you could go back. This time is no different. There's more of an infatuation with them now. And they somehow become even more clingy, especially in the physical sense now, too. Before, they would trail you, always stand nearby, and you thought that was bad enough. There was still some hesitancy to get too close, afraid of annoying you. Now, they get touchy without hesitation, coming up and wrapping arms around you and resting their head on your shoulder.

Of course, you still get some respite when they're off with the knights, but those precious hours feel so short to you, it seems like they're barely gone before they're back again. The schedules overlap significantly, so in total about 6 hours, give or take the ten minutes the journey from the city to the estate takes. It always feels so much shorter, especially because you're still basically forced to perform tasks for their sake while they're gone. Sure, they're gone... but you're still cleaning up their clutter and washing their clothes and making their food so it doesn't really feel like much time to yourself at all.

But unlike they might have been with a younger sister, with big sis they're not as much taught to view her as some precious fragile thing that needs to be handled delicately. Nor does Father provide any instructions on how to fuck you properly -- he assumes you can do that much, right? Surely it can't be hard to teach them what they're supposed to do.

Unfortunately, it is. Something about the lack of blood to their brains in those moments must give them some memory issues, seeing as they seem to forget your instructions from previous sessions quite often. Primarily, all that stuff you said about timing and mood... They're not exactly... Flirtatious. Nothing quite like the romantic fantasies you've had, the love novels you read with leads that are charming and say all the right things that make you feel fuzzy inside just to read, or even some of the more witty and charming individuals you had a few dates with back before this all began.

No, you don't get any flirtatiousness or setup, it's more just a tap on the shoulder and questioning what you're doing. You eventually reach a point where you can tell based on their tone of voice, this way of asking "what are you doing?" or "hey, put that down for a second" that carries a very clear message of why they're approaching you. At least you can convince yourself that getting picked up and carried back to the bedroom (if that measure is taken, rather than just bending you over a surface) is somewhat like those romance novels.

Not that you even always get that much warning and decency, though. Sometimes you're just getting cock shoved inside of you at random moments. They're young and horny and big sis is supposed to be the older sibling and thus the mature one here right? Probably the most lamented aspect of it all, really, is what used to be your one source of solace in this nightmare of an existence: bathing. Granted, you still try, sneak off and strip down and enjoy maybe two or three minutes of warm water before footsteps wander in. How come you didn't tell him?? Well, he needs a bath too, so... thankfully the bathtub only fits two at maximum, so if the other one wants a bath with you he has to wait until tomorrow.

And speaking of things that only one at a time can do, because big sis is such a comforting, familiar presence, you sometimes bring out some childishness in them. They still have that immature desire to get big sis's praise and approval all the time and, more infuriatingly, to be the favorite. After all, you have to have a favorite, right? It was much more blatant when they were little, but even now you still pick up on this subtle tension, each one indirectly seeking affirmation that he is, in fact, the favorite. Or at least, the favorite for today. Seems to be a bit of a back-and-forth, which means each day is a struggle to hold said title. One day, one of them may do something that upsets you, which results in the other becoming noticeably happier (and more smug) for the next day (while the other seethes and sulks).

Likewise, if one does something that makes you particularly happy, it's only a matter of hours, even minutes, before the other comes along with some gift or act of labor or impressive thing to try and outdo the first.

On the bright side, you can manipulate them with this, which is part of why you pretend not to notice and generally don't call them out on their rather childish need to outdo each other. You can pit them against each other and utilize jealousy to get them to do what you want. At some point you told them separately that 'well, *he* takes it nice and slow, and I like it better that way... why can't you be like that too?' and, even though it was a massive lie regarding both at the time, that's how you convinced them to actually invest in foreplay, which saves you some soreness at the very least.

You just try to save your energy for when you need it around them, but then, the worst possible scenario you could imagine becomes a reality: they get put on completely different schedules.

Meaning they will working at different times.

Meaning one of them will always be there.

The wonderous 6 hours or so you had before has vanished and life has officially become hell.

Diluc tends to prefer night shifts, so you're stuck with him during the day. Because he gets back in the early hours of the morning, he tends to wake you up shifting into bed, and due to the timing (and because he's a guy who needs his sleep or he'll be grouchy), he sleeps until noon-ish. Yet, Kaeya wakes up around 9 in the morning and has to leave, so you have to be up when that happens because how is he supposed to eat if you don't make him food?? And how is he supposed to have a good day without getting the necessary have-a-good-day sendoff kisses before leaving? So you need to be up at that time, but you also need to be ready around noon, too.

You learn to time it perfectly as the days go on, because on one hand, Diluc wakes up hungry and needs food, but on the other hand, waking up by himself to an empty bed with no sister to cuddle is less than ideal. Thankfully most days the maids can just bring you food so that you get more sleep, even though you sometimes have to convince them to keep helping you.

And speaking of them, you don't have anyone else to complain to, so you rant and whine and complain to the maids... you don't blame them for their lack of response. You know they'd get in trouble if they encouraged you, so it's no wonder they just nod and say dodgy things like I'm sorry you feel that way or I hope you feel better about it soon... they're your only outlet, though. And your Father? Hah, any complaints about what's being done to you turns into a lecture on how you shouldn't be so harsh, so many people would be so glad to have brothers who love them so much, your stubbornness is the only thing preventing you from being perfectly happy, blah blah. Talking to him just leaves you more upset.

That being said, to your dismay, your Father does become an intrusive figure in your sex life, if you can call it that.

It's horrifically embarrassing and awkward. While you're still the primary figure responsible for teaching, he just wants to ensure that his boys are getting the maximum usage value out of what has been given to them. After all, it would be a shame if there was some function of yours going unused and unenjoyed! They'd be missing out, and that can't stand. Especially because he realizes you might be inclined to, selfishly, not share helpful information, or even misinform them.

Which, to no one's surprise, it turns out you did. He's disappointed, but not shocked. You've been lying to avoid things you don't want to do. The other night Scribe and I were talking about how fandoms love the idea of age-swap AUs but rarely actually interrogate the idea in interesting ways and instead go for sort of cookie-cutter replacements without thinking about who is the most interesting to have switch roles and how it would change the story if you did, and it got me thinking about how I would do a TOH swap AU. Except now I'm a little obsessed with a couple of the ideas that got tossed around which is..... dangerous

Specifically the ones that won't leave my brain now are:

If your primary proposed swap is (logically enough) Eda and Luz, Lilith probably ought to come to the Demon Realm with her sister, and some of the later dynamics with Belos get extremely interesting if suddenly he's talking to a pair of human siblings who wandered there together

Alternate rebel Coven Head trio of Gus (who has been living a double life fitting of an Illusion head, hiding his friendship with Luz the fugitive wild witch while starting to doubt Belos' system), Skara (who is potentially fostering rebel tendencies in a teen protégé Raine Whispers), and Viney -- the last of whom takes up Raine's role in the plot as the one who gets in a bit of trouble at first running the B.A.T.Ts (....Beastkeepers Against the Throne, why change a good thing?) before they get their revolution more properly off the ground, although she definitely only ever got a Coven sigil with the explicit intention of tearing the system down from the inside.

If you take the adults to all be in their late 40s or so, you get an almost-fifty year-old Hunter who has somehow hung on to the position of Golden Guard (and his life) for almost the entirely of Belos' reign as Emperor and was very possibly created because his predecessor disagreed with aspects of Belos' rise to power. This gives him a practically unfathomable bundle of neuroses, an uncomfortable mounting suspicion that the Day of Unity might not be what he's been told all this time, and, perhaps most dangerously for him when it all blows up in his face -- after almost five decades without having to "replace" his brother, Belos is starting to think that this time, he got it right.

maaan this is a tough question. i think i’ve said before that my Top Favorite Turtle of All Time switches between all the 03 kids, but it’s usually Mikey or Raph. right now I think Raph is my favorite. His 03 characterization is so compelling, he just tugs at my heartstrings in a lot of different ways. I love that he starts at his lowest point early in the show and then we get to see him gradually learn to navigate his feelings and connect with the people around him. He's doing his best to figure out his place in the world, he feels like a very real depiction of what it's like being a neurodivergent teen (okay I know I'm projecting now but also I'm right). The sibling angst can hit a little close to home sometimes but I also look at him and think "oh that kid is gonna be okay. he's just figuring it out." Yknow??

18. Did any of their voice actors really stand out to you?

Ahh omg I'm actually so glad you asked this one anon. I pay a lot of attention to the voice acting so just going in loose chronological order:

Obviously Rob Paulsen is a fucking gem who brought Raphael to life and p much singlehandedly made '12 Donnie likeable (sorry the writers did all that to you buddy). But man I don't see enough love for Barry Gordon as Donatello! He brings such a particular vibe to the character that's so endlessly endearing I just think it's funny that he's kinda the meanest one but he sounds like the littlest fucking guy ever

Michael Sinterniklaas as Leo is so fucking charming I just. Holds him gently. I like how confused he sounds all the time. I like his little laugh he does in the scene where they're playing with the hose. I like his "it's okay!" line in The Ultimate Ninja. I like that he's going for grinditude. I like him so bad ToT And Sam Riegel as Donny is wild because I think he sometimes has the weirdest line reads--not in a bad way, just like, why did you say it like that. I'm forever obsessed with him.

Rewatching 2007 movie was so wild I could barely focus with how many voices I recognized in there. Sarah Michelle Gellar as April was really fun. With Mako as Splinter okay I may as well just cry myself to sleep

Greg Cipes and Ashley Johnson characters are literally their own ship dynamic like whatever that is I don't care they invented it

The entire Rise cast is sooo good I adore every one of them the comedy just legitimately would not work without them. Not a bad line read in that whole show tbh. I'm particularly fond of Josh Brener as Donnie for that autistic-ass delivery. Also cannot stress enough how great Ayo Edebiri and Zelda Williams are too like the entire cast just has such a good vibe

21. Give one character a hug?

I MEAN. It's hard to choose they all deserve a hug!! But I am not much of a hugger and neither are a lot of the characters who need the most hugs. So I think... Rise Mikey or Alopex maybe? I think that they would give very good hugs.

I've already complained a lot about the pacing, and how the film suffers because of it. So now I want to switch gears and talk about some of the stuff I did like (it's a long list!). Putting it under a read more, because of spoilers:

Mario being a protective big brother ❤️

Mario calling Luigi "Lu" (it's no "Weegee" or "Weeg", but it's still cute)

"Nothing can hurt us as long as we're together"

The flashback of the baby bros 😭

Luigi being the one to protect Mario at the end

Mario and Luigi's relationship in general is so incredibly sweet and definitely the highlight of the film for me

Peach is a badass, but she's also cute. Which is exactly how I think she should be depicted

Toad is cute and funny, and I wish we could've seen more of his dynamic with Mario and Peach

Mario and Peach's interactions are cute, even if they're rushed

THE MARIO AND LUIGI HUG WJEHEBEJSUUSUDHSHSBSHSHSJSJ IT'S EVEN BETTER THAN THE LM3 HUG I'M 😭 THE FOREHEAD TOUCH AHWEHEHEHDNJE THEY'RE THE BEST SIBLINGS EVER I WOULD DIE FOR THEM

I like Peach's backstory (even if I have a lot of questions about the circumstances surrounding them crowning her princess). I think it's sweet that she became their protector after they raised her. The idea of her possibly being from Mario's world is also very interesting to me. I hope fanfic writers go nuts with that

Mario having daddy issues is kind of a funny concept to me, but also really interesting, and it's something I'd like to see explored more (probably in fanfics)

I love how sweet and supportive their mom is!

Mario and DK's rivalry is fun

The concept of Bowser being able to play piano is something I never realized I needed in my life (definitely need to incorporate it into a future fanfic)

I love the way they incorporated the game mechanics into the worldbuilding. I want to see what they'd do with other stuff, like 1-ups (like we thought we were getting)

The idea of Mario hating mushrooms is funny

Pauline got a cameo at least

The score was great

The DK Rap being included was funny

It's cool to have official versions of Mario's parents (even if they're probably not canon)

Having Charles Martinet voice Mario's dad was a cute touch (and it makes him saying "these are my boys!" at the end really sweet in a meta way)

I actually liked most of the voices. The only one that remotely bothered me was Cranky, because he doesn't sound old enough, but even then I don't really hate it. Yes, I actually came around to Prattio in the end, so fucking sue me (it helps that his performance is better than in the trailers, and you can actually hear the Brooklyn accent now)

The Bowser's Fury theme playing in one part made me so happy because that's one of my favorite Mario games ever

I loved seeing Mario being insecure and scared! It was really refreshing

This might sound weird, but I actually appreciate them not holding back on the violence in some places. The most notable example is during the climax, when Mario is all bruised up from Bowser beating the shit out of him

As I've said before, the animation is absolutely gorgeous. The expressive character animation and the color choices are what really make it shine

The action sequences are so good! Even just Peach doing the training course was mesmerizing

Peach is just...so nice. People were assuming she'd be a stereotypical girlboss that hates men or some crap, but she really isn't. (I never did; I had faith that they'd get her right.) She waits for Mario to complete his training so he can save Luigi, even though there's a looming threat to her kingdom. She lets Mario go with her even though he didn't complete it, and tries to make him feel better about not getting it on the first try. And she's willing to marry someone she hates just to protect her kingdom (and then tricks him and beats him up). I love her 💖

I like how Peach says "my Toads"; it feels like she's saying "my family" (because they are her family, and she'll never let anything happen to them 🩷)

I already mentioned Mario and Luigi's relationship. But one scene that I haven't seen anyone talk about it when they're in Mario's room after their dad rejects him, and Luigi tries to comfort him. Mario is a great brother in this movie, but so is Luigi 💚

As much as I love Mario x Peach, I'm glad they don't try to force the relationship (outside of other characters shipping them, lol). There's not much time for that to happen--partly because of the pacing, but also because they're both focused on stopping Bowser and wouldn't be thinking much about that anyway. I would like to see some romance between them in a potential sequel, but I also want the development of their relationship to feel natural

Mario finding his strength and confidence through his desire to protect the people he cares about 🥰

They did the "So long gay Bowser" tail swing

The character designs are sooooooo good! Mario and Luigi are precious, Peach is pretty, Bowser looks cool, etc. I love how everyone looks! 👌

There's probably more I could add here, but I should probably stop before this post becomes ridiculously long lol. Despite the issues I had with this movie, there's still a lot I appreciate about it. And it made me smile and laugh the whole way through, so that makes it good in my book. It's definitely going to be one of my comfort movies from now on.

(1): Sooo, now that I watched all of season 2 (SPOILERS): Let's say it from the start that this is not a personal attack on either Neil Gaiman, John Finnemore or anyone else involved in this production. This just me sharing my perspective which will always be subjective no matter how hard I try for objectivity, so really, with this I'd rather just like to open a discussion about a bigger picture. To be fair, this season was in on itself solid writing with a cohesive arc, very enjoyable to watch and inside of it, characters's motivations made sense and as always, Michael Sheen and David Tennant are immaculate in the leading roles. Inside the season, the ending makes perfect sense. And that's my point. Inside the season. If you look back on season 1 and then switch to s2, you'll probably notice the gigantic tone shift. Season 1 was already a tad grimmer than the book, but it was still quite light-hearted, most of the time, a comedy about the end of the world, a subversion of the Doomsday-Genre, that’s what it always was supposed to be in my pov. Compare that to Season 2, who still manages to be occasionally very funny, but for the most part, takes a much more serious approach to Zira's and Crowley's situation. Not that this never existed in the subtext, but having this now be the main thing feels... weird? I mean, it certainly changed how I engage with the show, but that may be the topic of another post. Also, that’s not really my point. My point is… I once told my siblings that it feels strange to me shipping “Ineffable spouses” because usually, I’m quite the drama-shipper and I wouldn’t find much of it in their dynamic. Especially if you take the book, Aziraphale and Crowley mostly just,…. get along. And even if they are a bit rougher in season 1, they still end up dining at the Ritz seemingly having cleared all their problems with Heaven and Hell and now have a long time ~together~. There’s a reason why most fanfics I read put them coming together at “The Night at Crowley’s flat”. So, when Neil Gaiman announced that season 2 would be rather “quite, gentle and romantic”, I’m pretty sure I wasn’t the only one who was just hoping for one season of Aziraphale and Crowley just being together, doing stuff. Though of course, being through Cherik beside other things, alarm bells were ringing in my head, because I knew that a studio like Amazon would never allow this for the sake of being queer, but for the sake of making ~money~. And what did we get? Well…. It’s certainly there. And I will not for one moment pretend that I didn’t scream when the ineffable duo danced together or parented Gabriel together, or when Crowley kissed Aziraphale… But. This. Kiss. It’s pure pain, that’s what it is. And this, after two seasons of dancing around each other, yet somehow already having three break-up-scenes, just makes it seem.. weird. Because I realised, queer rep is not necessarily about a kiss or a dramatic declaration. Ianto and Jack from Torchwood never had a dramatic love declaration on-screen and only kissed twice in season 1, yet their story, and Torchwood in general was the first queer show that made me actually feel well-fed. No. It’s about how you portray queerness in your character. They don’t have to be “good”, “virtious” or anything like that, they just have to be genuine.

Okay, I made a post awhile ago about making a Foamstars Splatoon AU, so I’m gonna share some ideas I have about that!

Also disclaimer - I like splatoon and I am using this as an opportunity to basically make some OCs and play around in the Splatoon Universe using Foamstars as inspiration at best. I like the designs and some of the kooky ideas in Foamstars, but I am not a fan nor have I played it. I don’t have any intention to play it, I honestly think it doesn’t look very good.

Okay? Okay!

Setting - Wash Vegas

First off, the setting isn’t Bath Vegas (the canon name) but Wash Vegas. It’s a city somewhat far away from the events of the main Splatoon games, but still located in Inkadia. This city is full of rich people, and is a mashed combo of Silicon Valley and Las Vegas. It’s where the rich and elite live, investing in technologies to make a business from and partying it up at night.

After Turf Wars became a massive thing among the youth, a new kind of performative sport also started cropping up in this city- Foam Battles. Instead of a team sport, it’s more like a death match pro-wrestling. Instead of gaining points from inking turf, it’s by how many splats you get in a limited time (with different battles having different gimmicks), with the battles switching between team based objectives and all out battle royale.

The participants in these Foam Battles are the Foamstars, who craft a persona around themselves and unique weapon to each. These weapons can convert the natural ink from Inklings and Octolings into foam-like substance which can still splat their opponents but also change the environment they’re playing on by making walls and ramps, and destroying it again with their specials.

Now… this sport, despite its differences, is seen as a rich person rip off of turf wars so the Foamstars aren’t there for fun or challenge but to gain clout and make connections among the elite. So they’re basically influencers but they fight eachother, and even if the games aren’t technically meant to be rigged they often are so the favourites win more.

Characters

I’m going to give a short description of each AU character along with an image of the actual Foamstar character webpage from Square Enix for an idea of who I’m talking about since I doubt anyone here knows who each character is (ignore the bubble beastie stuff that’s gonna be a whole thing and a WIP). Also there’s surprisingly very little info on their personalities on the website, so I’m pretty much flying solo here and I have no idea what they’re actually like in-game lol.

Soa

(Just one letter away from “Soap”, real creative.) So this is Soa, her stage name being Bubbles Blobba. She is an amateur inkling idol, among many trying to make it in Wash Vegas, but has been given a new chance in this gig of being a Foamstar.

Soa is very naive though, the classic “wide eyed newbie trying to make it in the cut-throat entertainment world”. She is bubbly and energetic, and is willing to make friends with almost anyone. But that Optimism is often taken advantage of, she didn’t even know what a Foam Battle was when she signed up and just went along with it. Her genuine spirit and great singing voice has made her quite a few fans already though, so she’s got a real shot at fame.

Her weapon is a modified dualies, shooting bubbles of foam, with her special being a variation on Baller. She is light on her feet and nimble, and is an expert at dodge rolling, but often gets in over her head during battles.

Frenzy

Next is Frenzy Hohojiro, known as Agito online, and his basic backstory is similar to his Foamstar one - He’s a pro-gamer trying to prove himself outside of gaming. He is an octoling hailing from the Splatlands, and was even apart of the well-known Hohojiro clan - making him Shiver’s older brother (their sibling dynamic is very much spiting one another out of love).

The Hohojiro Clan is a long line of Shark riders and warriors, however Frenzy didn’t really care for all that and was much more enamoured with gaming and eventually left his family to peruse it - gaining massive success much to his family’s chagrin. He is very competitive and doesn’t back down to a challenge, wanting to dominate the Foam Battle leagues to prove himself, so his shark has become somewhat neglected.

His main weapon is a modified rapid blaster, with his special being a version of Reef Slider. He isn’t great at dodging but is very skilled in on-the-fly tactics.

Tonix

Tonix here is an inkling born and raised in the Wash Vegas science division, being home schooled by her father who is a brilliant scientist (Tonix is her nickname). She lives and breathes science of almost all kinds, gaining a very… odd personality as a result. She is very energetic, seeming almost manic at times, and has severely neglected social skills from her life among socially awkward scientists.

She also has a bad habit of doing experiments on her friends without asking, or on herself, seeing herself as a genius and not really caring about consequences. This attitude is why she has a state of the art prosthetic leg, as after an experiment gone wrong she jumped at the chance to make her own leg. She’s also Bioluminescent - seemingly no one knows why, not even Tonix herself.

Her weapon is a modified Brella, with her special being a powered-up auto bomb which seeks out other players and explodes. She made them herself, of course.

Jet Justice

Jet Octopada, known widely by some as Jet Justice, is a former Octarian soldier from Octo Canyon - one of many defectors after the infamous Calamari Inkantation was played. He is now a civilian hero in Wash Vegas, using his military experience, and wanted to be a force for change which brought him to Foam Battles.

He is kindhearted and genuine guy, but not naive like Soa or even Frenzy is. He sees the system is corrupt and wishes to use his position to advocate for better conditions for the lower class workers in the city, and maybe even steer it towards something better. (This leads him to take Soa and Frenzy under his wing, as he sees they’re good kids deep down.)

His weapon is a modified blaster, and his modified special is splashdown. He is a force to be reckoned with in foam battles, able to counteract even the worst cheating or bias using his own skill. However, because he is so caring of others he will sometimes help his opponents as well by accident,

Navie South

(Okay I basically had to change Pen Gwyn to be a different character because global warming isn’t really a thing in the Splatoon world anymore, since they use Zapfish and power eggs for energy rather than fossil fuels.) (also her name in Foamstars has been changed to Penny Gwyn, these are old screenshots lol)

Navie South is an Octarian, like Jet, but didn’t defect from the army. She lost her honour and status after she failed to stop the agent who ended up taking the Great Zapfish back, so she’s on a quest to correct her mistake outside of Octavio’s knowledge. She’s participating in Foam Battles to gain connections among the elite, her fans think her military outfit and personality is an act.

She is disgusted by basically everyone, seeing the inklings as enemies and the octarians as traitors. She is ruthless in Foam Battles, having been one of the top decorated soldiers in the Octarian army, and will do anything to win.

Her weapon is a modified shooter, specifically an splattershot with a rapid fire rate, and her special is a modified curling bomb which slides forwards and explodes.

Rave

One of the younger Foamstars, he is a giant squid inkling whose family came from the Deep Sea Metro. Rave Breaker isn’t his real name, but he insists everyone call him Rave Breaker since it’s cooler.

Basically, he’s a teen who heard about “sanitization” during his time in the deep, but never actually learnt what it meant… which is why he made his whole persona around ‘cleaning the filth from this city’ and ‘ending all the parties’ as an edgy anti-hero/villain. His fans love it though.

He’s really a sweet guy, a cinnamon roll if you will, who studies and works hard and doesn’t want to let his family down after they funded his career into being a Foamstar - unaware that his family’s business has made them super rich, and his parents are gaslighting him into thinking they’re only scraping by to drain his own money. He needs a better support system.

He’s also a very skilled mechanic and fighter. Due to his skill and being very tall, people often assume he’s older than he is.

His weapon is a modified heavy splatling, and his special is a modified Inkstrike. He made both of them himself, and actually does repairs for other Foamstars if they ask since he’s more trustworthy than Tonix most of the time.

(I’ll admit, I have a strange fondness for this guy. He’s my edgy son.)

Vulgan Glacia

He’s old money from Inkopolis, an Octoling whose family fled Octo Valley generations ago. He’s snooty and arrogant, but polite and dignified. He his participating in Foam Battles for fun, and to promote his grandkid’s coffee house business since they don’t like him just dumping money on them.

He absolutely loves his kids and grandkids though, and will let you know even if you don’t ask. He has all their pictures in his wallet, and makes sure to know what they’re all doing. He used to have a wife who is now deceased, so he raised his kids all on his own and is a fantastic dad. (He’s also worried for Rave, his dad senses are tingling when Rave talks about his family, but isn’t particularly close to the boy.)

His weapon is a modified splatling, and his special is inkstorm which dissolves foam as it passes over.

Sweet Beak

The most mysterious Foamstar, the Inkling Sweet Beak acts as both the mascot, poster girl, and secret CRO for ‘Sweet Dreams’ - a candy and sweets brand whose products are massively popular in Wash Vegas. Sweet Beak herself acts as the promoter and mascot, while behind the scenes she’s a cut-throat CEO who will do anything to dominate her competition.

She doesn’t care for ethics or standards, only winning and power. She lives a double life, pretending to be an innocent and cute young girl in Foam Battles but dropping the act in private. She will cheat, lie, backstab, and punch her way to the top - never caring for who she hurts along the way. This persona also allows her to forge connections with higher ups of other companies, and to keep herself clean from any accusations that might be thrown the company’s way.

Her fans love her for her sweet and girly personality shown online, and for her sweets themed gear and weapons. Her main weapon is a Blaster, and her special is a foam themed big bubbler which will disperse foam when going through or popped.

Note: These characters were first made before Foamstars released, and since the website has barely any info on them, this isn’t reflective of their characters in-game. I might check that out on YouTube, but idk right now.

Plot/Story

Right now this is the most unfinished part, but here’s the basics.

Originally, Foam Battles were just done for fun, but recently it’s been found the foam weapons are very effective at fighting monsters called ‘Bubble Beasties’. These monsters started appearing with no warning from an old waste dump outside the city, and now it’s overrun with these creatures and they have been attacking parts of Wash Vegas for unknown reasons.

Our main characters get caught up in one of these attacks during a game of battle royale between these 8 (there are more Foamstars than just these guys in the world) and they managed to stop the attack. So the head of local the Wash Vegas Defence Force recruited/drafted them to fight these attacks when they pop up, and now they’re all having to learn to get along.

TLDR: The plot is basically celebrity and entertainment drama, mixed in with some superhero action.

((I’m not 100% on this, and this is based on the in-game story mode stuff which I skimmed, so this is the most subject to change part of this AU))

The good thing about me getting back to your ask so late is I can now post a proper pic of them together instead of a collage 🙌🏻. Oh my goodness, the way she looks at him. Yes!

3. What’s their favorite thing to tease each other about?

Control. They are constantly teasing each other about being or not being in control.

He always tells her that she likes to be a controlling bish, and she tells him that he actually likes being told what to do. (They are both right)

In the bedroom? They switch dynamic. Just so you know. 👀

6. Do they have pet names for each other? Do they like them?

I’ll start with Macha first. She calls him “Cubs” because she is older (6 years), and they talked about her being his cougar, which she thinks is hilarious. He likes being her cub and also being called that. She sometimes calls him boo bc she likes the sound of that, and he likes that as well. And if she wants something from him or wants to flatter him, she calls him “my king” and he’s ALL OVER THAT.

He calls her “Kitten” mostly - she reminds him of a kitten bc she is playful and cute and has no idea how sharp her claws are and that they can hurt. She loves being called that. It makes her feel special. He calls most other women “dollface” and that’s what he called her until she got upgraded to his Kitten. He also calls her princess from time to time and she pretends to not like it but then she always has those lyrics in her head from that Alanis Morisette song and she gets all giddy and she doesn’t really object (they go “ you treat me like Im a princess, I’m not used to liking that”)

12. What struggle have they seen each other through?

They haven't figured out one of them yet - moving in together. They both like the idea, but they also value their own space and kind of order (or ordered chaos) they have.

Vinnie is much more minimalistic by the way so his place is more organized.

And Macha values her alone time so much that she can't imagine having him around all the time (which he would prefer).

(I do have a lot of struggles for them in my head but they are all WIP so this will have to do for now)

19. What values do they not share? How do they reconcile those differences?

Family is super important for Vinnie because he didn't have much family time growing up because of losing his parents. He does have a lot of cousins, though. They are pretty tight, and he adored his grandma. He felt very drawn to the Valentinos when they took him in because they immediately felt like a chosen family to him, and he still hangs out with them often.

Macha, on the other hand, is glad she doesn't have a lot of contact with her family anymore because family life was traumatizing for her, constant breaking of boundaries, high expectations, and a lot of constraints. She values her independence now and finally feels emancipated from her parents. She has a big immediate family and patchwork style because her dad remarried twice. Lots of half siblings. She does get along with them, but they don't see each other often.

Vinnie is very curious about meeting her parents, but she doesn't want that. So for now, they hang with his friends and family, and she leaves whenever it gets too much for her. Vinnie respects that she decides when it's time to meet the family.

23. What was their first impression of each other?

Vinnie thought she was pretty and sassy. He liked that she was blunt and to the point. He wondered about her capabilities bc she didn't let him know all the stuff she could do.

Machas first thought was "Damn, he tall. And... cute." And she was kind of flustered that he started flirting right away but couldn't resist flirting back - which isn't her usual mode.

24. How did they fall for each other?

Macha fell for him pretty quickly. There was a moment during their first gig together (basically the day after they met) where he had to protect her physically and he did so quickly and effortlessly and she couldn't help but feel very attracted to that. She had always looked out for herself up until that point, so someone suddenly having her back like this made her feel all kinds of things. She did not act on her feelings quickly, though, because she knew he was a womanizer and she wasn't looking to be his next fling. She wanted something serious. She chose Vinnie for a multitude of reasons, but the important thing is that she chose him very consciously, and she had never done that before in her relationships (she settled for the men).

Vinnie took longer. Granted, he wanted to get into her pants from the beginning but she didn't react to his usual advances which confused him. She was still very friendly and even affectionate with him. So he asked her out on a date because he assumed she needed that to give into him.

But that date and what followed was so different from what he usually experienced with women that his interest and curiosity grew steadily (apart from one incident at The Afterlife 👀 they didn't get intimate until weeks later, which was unheard of for him). He fell for her when he realized she was interested in his true self and did not want to change anything about who he was.
