Heroines of Margaret Rogerson's books fanart!
Read these books if you enjoy a beautifully crafted writing style, worldbuilding, and characters! They are all such unique gems that have interesting distinct worlds, and I need more people to talk about them. 😂
Artemisia from Vespertine, Isobel from An Enchantment of Ravens, and Elizabeth from A Sorcery of Thorns.

I read An Enchantment of Ravens all in one day and immediately wanted to sketch out the Fair Folk's true forms underneath all that glamour. (But mostly I was in the mood to draw some sharp teefs and a face only a mother a skilled portraitist could love.) Took some heavy inspiration from Murnau's Nosferatu, Brian Froud's art, and every monstrous character Doug Jones has ever played. Bonus sketch below because I couldn't stop myself.

You are like a living rose among wax flowers. We may last forever, but you bloom brighter and smell sweeter, and draw blood with your thorns.

The secret history I love love Henry and Francis <3
The Grishaverse! I love this amazing universe sm and adore all of the characters but my faves probably would be Wylan, Zoya and Kaz (and Nikolai!!!)
If we were villains: It's a mess but soo good! I adored James (did I almost cry at the end: yes! Do I still love him: yes!)
An enchantment of ravens: this book is soo f**cking underrated! Rook and Isobel are my babys <3
The gilded wolves: What can I say, it's awsome! I loved Enrique, Hypnos and Zofia
The folk of the air: Master. Piece. (Jude and Vivi....!!!)

Watercolour inspired by the book Vespertine by Margaret Rogerson ❤️ I’ve only read the first couple of chapters and it’s already so atmospheric and enchanting, I can’t wait to see where the story goes.

“Isobel, I love you wholly. I love you eternally. I love you so dearly it frightens me. I fear I could not live without you. I could see your face every morning upon waking for ten thousand years and still look forward to the next as though it were the first.”

Just a reminder that Rook gave Isobel ravens, not only as payment for the portrait art, but also so that she wouldn’t forget him once he was gone

"Are you in love with me?" I blurted out. A terrible silence followed. Rook didn't turn around. "Please say something."
He rounded on me. "Is that so terrible? You say it as though it's the most awful thing you can imagine. It isn't as though I've done it on purpose. Somehow I've grown fond of your--your irritating questions, and your short legs, and your accidental attempts to kill me."
I recoiled. "That's the worst declaration of love I've ever heard!"
