My name is Sarah.

I am a 21 year old sorta messianic ethnic Jew.

Let me explain the messianic part before you become keyboard warriors.

My grandmother was an incredibly mentally disabled holocaust survivor. She found messianic Judaism, and she found comfort in it. She able to change religion but not give up her Jewish traditions. I’ve talked to many people on tumblr about messianic Judaism and I’ve seen the faults in it. But I still grew up in it and it is hard to give up something you feel close to.

Update: I have abandoned the religion, unknowingly to my family, I am looking into possibly converting to Judaism.

So please do not harass me about that part. Most of my post will not be about the religion or Jewish customs they will mostly be about Israel and antisemitism.

As you can tell from my handle I live in New York City, so Israeli if I get any wrong please correct. And religious Jews if I get anything wrong please once again kindly correct me.

I am a Zionist

But let’s clear up what Zionism means in the first place.

Zionism has two definitions.

One which is “the belief that Jews are indigenous to Israel and have the right to self determination”

The other is a more political movement which falls under the definition of “a political movement to build and preserve Israel.”

I am in complete support of both, but being a Zionist doesn’t mean you hate Palestinians or are in complete support of the Israeli government, I just believe in Israel right to exist and the Jewish right to self determination.

Wether you want to believe or not it’s the truth.

Also if you don’t believe in the Jewish right to self determination but are in complete support of every other self determination you are antisemitic.

Regarding the Israeli government

Despite what being pro-Palestinians believe I am not in full support of the Israeli government and I do believe there are illegitimate criticisms of it. I have many of my own.

I more support self defense, the Israeli people, and Israels right to exist.
