Raquel had hesitated outside the emergency room entrance for at least ten minutes before entering, making pleasantries with the woman at the front desk - who recognized her from many shifts. The woman had barely questioned her, gesturing her to the right room. The room that held her ex-wife. “Hey,” Raquel greeted, an affectionate pet name on her tongue but she held it in. “I’m okay, I came for you. We got word of a firefighter down at the ambulance corp. Kev did some snooping and told me it was you. I just wanted to make sure you were doing well.” Raquel stepped further into the space, eying up Shonnetta’s bandaged face. “Is it okay I came?” Despite all their hardships, Raquel still had such a deep love for her ex-wife. They had years of memories, the type that you could never forget. 

         shonnetta  gave  a  nod  ,  lips  pressed  together  into  a  tight  line  as  she  pulled  the  oxygen  mask  back  over  her  face.  she  wasn’t  expecting  to  see  raquel  ,  but  really  she  should  have  known  that  the  news  of  an  injured  firefighter  would  travel  through  the  department  quickly.  passing  out  inside  of  a  building  was  not  something  her  coworkers  took  lightly  and  raquel  was  the  only  family  she  had  in  the  region  ,  even  if  they  weren’t  technically  family  anymore.  “  it’s  fine  ,  ”  she  sighed.  “  i  would  want  to  know  if  it  was  you.  ”  some  things  were  more  important  than  the  status  of  their  relationship  ,  even  if  it  did  feel  like  her  heart  was  being  ripped  out  of  her  chest  any  time  someone  so  much  as  mentioned  raquel.  “  you  didn’t  have  to  come  ,  though.  i’m  fine.  it’s  just  a  concussion.  ”

         LETTING OUT a soft yawn, Maya opened her eyes, rubbing them with a closed fist. Her whole body was exhausted. Her mind and her body physically but as she rolled over in the bed, the blonde came face to face with Ryan. Since she left the other’s station and returned back to her own, they’d become something of a sorts. She became more than just her one night stand. She became her girlfriend, and if she were being completely honest, she quite liked where the relationship was going. But, the night before, the blonde had come close to losing her life. So close in fact that she’d ended up in the hospital and Ryan had picked her up. She just had a few broken ribs and cuts and bruises over her whole entire body but she was fine. And she was alive. With a soft smile, the blonde leaned forward to press a soft kiss to familiar lips before murmuring softly as the other’s eyelids flickered “MORNING BEAUTIFUL.”

She tried to be as encouraging to all of her students, especially with Joey.  But some took to the medium, While others floundered a bit before they got the hang of it. Misha was confident that Joey would be one of the people that would get there… eventually. "I'd be happy too. To be honest, I love glazing. It makes me feel like a painter even though I'm far from it. Would you like to put any etchings into the sides of it? I'll help you, of course, but keeping it simple is excellent as well. Readjusting Joey's hands just slightly, "A little more pressure there. What color or colors were you thinking?"

“Fucking hell.” Amy’s eyes were wide as the took in the sight before her. Despite having been ushered what was deemed a safe distance away from the apartment block, she could feel the heat of the flames against her cheeks. Her gaze jumped between the burning building — her home — and the groups of people crowded outside, both watching alongside her and working.

“Is everybody okay?” She waited until she saw someone in uniform who wasn’t moving with urgency before asking. “D'you know what happened?”

Ryan had let herself into Nadia’s apartment, having been told the door was open. She placed her water bottle on the kitchen table before following the noise, brow furrowed in concern. She could sense Nadia was frustrated and gave the woman a moment before stepping into the room. “Hey, hot stuff,” Ryan said, hoping to lighten the mood a bit as she took a moment to observe the scene. “You okay? Do you need some ice? Or we could skip the hike?” She asked cautiously, not wanting to make it seem like she didn’t think Nadia was capable - she was. Even after her surgery she was a superb athlete. Ryan had stopped by a bit earlier than they’d agreed - figuring they’d get some pre-hiking stretching done. 

         nadia  turned  to  look  over  her  shoulder  at  the  sound  of  ryan’s  voice  ,  somewhat  surprised  to  see  her  standing  there  in  the  doorway.  she  knew  that  they  were  supposed  to  be  meeting  soon  ,  but  she  figured  she  would  have  enough  time  to  change  before  the  other  woman  arrived.  “  i  don’t  need  to  skip  anything  ,  ”  she  called  out  ,  quickly  moving  back  onto  her  feet  ,  towel  in  hand.  “  i’m  fine.  ”  it  wasn’t  ryan’s  fault  that  she'd  arrived  at  the  worst  possible  moment  ,  but  nadia  didn’t  want  anyone  treating  her  differently──like  she  couldn’t  handle  herself.  she  didn’t  need  her  arm  to  go  on  a  hike.  “  i  just  need  to  change  and  then  we  can  get  going.  ”

         A CAPTAIN’S job was never done, and Maya herself never seemed seemed to stop. Even more so at a new station, she had to prove herself after all. But she was making friends with the other firefighters at the station, but she seemed to click more with Juni, the brunette just seemed to remind her of her best friend. Finishing off one of the stacks of paperwork in her office, the Captain stood up and moved towards the beanery to get a coffee. Then she’d return back to the rest of the paperwork. They were stuck on an overnighter after all. Walking into the room, Maya passed Juni, smiling at her fondly as she rubbed her back gently “Hey there lady, you GOING OKAY?”.

                  AS SHE sat on the hospital bed in the emergency room, Erin couldn’t help but let out a soft sigh. All it was, was a damn gun shot wound. Nothing serious in the slightest but yet, she still found herself in the hospital having to get it thoroughly checked. The wound was in her thigh, she knew it was a through and through, she’d been shot before, but never in the leg. That would be a first. She just wanted to go home. Relaxing against the bed, Erin let out a huff. Damn hospitals. Looking up as the curtain opened, Erin raised an eyebrow when she came face to face with her doctor. She was gorgeous. “If I have a doctor like you every time I come to the hospital then I might be inclined to actually stay rather than sign MYSELF OUT.”

           ARIZONA MIGHT actually kill Juni. Just a little bit. The brunette had been hurt in a fire, only minor but she still had been hurt. And she was currently in the emergency room getting looked after by the fine doctors. But she hadn’t even been told. Not by Juni at least. She’d found out from Carina, who had found out from Maya who was her captain. She’d found out in a roundabout way but she had freaked out, ever so lightly, because she hadn’t heard or seen Juni herself. Yes, they hadn’t made anything official yet but they were unofficially together and Arizona still cared about the firefighter. Letting out  a soft huff, the blonde made her way through the hospital down to the emergency room. Finding the bed that the brunette was in, Arizona raised her eyebrows slightly “So tell me, can your mouth still work to tell me that you’d hurt yourself or were you expecting me to not find out in the hospital that I work and CO OWN?”.
