She didn’t know how exactly they ended up here, but they definitely were here now.
There was a man lying beside her, an attractive man, a wonderful man who she knew wouldn’t do anything to harm her, a man who she knew was too good for her.
How she ended up here with him, she was a little fuzzy on.
There was a conference, and she ran into him at it. And, somewhere during the few days of the conference, he ended up in her hotel room. Naked. After fucking her brains out and leaving her speechless.
Maybe she didn’t want to remember how they got into this situation because then she would have to think about their relationship outside of this hotel room.
She nudged him, and he turned to face her with his eyebrows raised. She kissed him and straddled his body, not wanting to think about anything other than him.
For so long, she’d tried to maintain that image of the perfect mother, the perfect girlfriend, and hell, even the perfect wife because she was supposed to be with Owen, and she was supposed to be that person.
But now, she’s sitting on someone else’s lap, and he’s touching her just right as if he’s known her body forever. She doesn’t want to admit how good it feels.
Does it feel good to be with him, or just to be in this situation? She doesn’t know, and she doesn’t want to think about it. Because he’s here, and he’s about to fuck her like his life depends on it, and she couldn’t be more grateful for that.
It’s alternative pain relief; she thinks as he trails kisses down her body, paying attention to each and every curve of her figure and making her feel more seen than she’s felt in a long time. He tells her she’s beautiful, and she feels like she is.
Maybe part of her knows that there’s something more to this because any old hookup wouldn’t leave her feeling this way. And, she certainly wouldn’t agree to hook up with her coworker after such a messy relationship with a different coworker, if it was just that.
But that doesn’t matter right now because all she can see are the stars above her eyes, and she can’t make any noises other than the moans escaping her mouth.
She’s scared to say his name. To moan his name, to encourage him, because that would mean too much. She’s scared to hear it fall from her lips because she knows that she would like the sound of it, and he would too.
And he’s so damn polite, as he drops onto the bed beside her and asks how she’s feeling. As if he didn’t just give her the orgasm of her life, as if he hasn’t spent this entire time trying to make her feel better.
She moves her head onto his chest and sighs, and he wraps an arm around her and holds her close to his body. He’s warm and comfortable, and she closes her eyes.
She wakes up hours later to hear the shower running and finds that he’s gone from the bed, the comforter neatly pulled up and tucked in. She glances around the room, taking note of their clothes strewn across the floor from the events of last night.
The light coming through the window of the room is bright, almost bright enough to mean that it’s day, that they’ll have to leave the hotel room and face the world outside. The world on the other side of the plane she’s meant to board that night.
She gets out of bed and tiptoes towards the bathroom.
The door’s been left open, and she pokes her head in to see him showering. She knocks on the door politely, and when he turns around to greet her, he grins and opens the door of the shower.
It’s awfully spacious for a hotel shower. The tile behind her is cold, but the water’s hot, and her body is burning as he presses her against the shower wall.
His touch is more gentle now, but there’s just as much passion as before. His hands feel like they’re charged with care and kindness. She wraps her arms around his neck as she reaches that peak, burying her face into his shoulder and holding him tight against her, gently sinking her teeth into the skin at the base of his neck.
And then, it shifts. They wash their hair and their bodies, simply coexisting in the same space as the shower makes the only noise between them. She can almost sense that he wants to bring it up, as he places his hand on the small of her back to step past her, that he wants to ask the dreaded question of what this means.
She leaves the bathroom after he does to find him sitting on the edge of the bed and pulling on his shirt from the day before. She walks towards him, dropping her towel in the process, and straddles him. He grins against her lips when she kisses him, and they fall into the routine they’d managed to form in just a few hours. He’s inside of her in a heartbeat, and she reaches her climax for what feels like the millionth and also the first time ever.
And then, he’s gone. She’s sure he said goodbye; she vaguely remembers a hand brushing through her hair and his lips on hers after he muttered a soft goodbye, but she’s not sure of it.
She’s not quite sure of anything, to be honest, and for some goddamn reason, she feels empty without his company.
She feels like she’s sleep-walking as she gathers a change of clothes from her suitcase and pulls the fabric over her warm skin. The knit of her sweater scratches at the line of red marks on the base of her neck.
Almost immediately after she leaves her hotel room in search of food, she finds him standing in line, his eyes glued to his phone until she brushes her hand against his elbow. He looks up and smiles at her.
“Hey,” he greets, his voice warm. Amelia drops her hand to her side.
“I think,” she sighs, “I think we should-”
“Pretend like it never happened?” He interrupts her, a slight laugh trailing his response. “Yeah, I figured.” She takes a moment, attempting to study his expression.
“I just got out of a relationship. I didn’t mean to give you the impression that this was going somewhere.” She bites the inside of her mouth and shifts her feet uncomfortably as the line for the hotel buffet moves forward.
“Yeah, I realized that this morning.” He shrugs. “But, for the record, if you ever did want it to go somewhere, or even just turn this into a more regular thing,” he glances between them, “you know where to find me.” A smile creeps onto her face, and she gently nudges her body into his.
“When’s your flight back?”
“Tomorrow morning. You?”
“Tonight. So,” she turns to face him, “I’ve got a few hours before I need to leave.” She waits until his face softens in realization, a hint of excitement outlining his features. Amelia steps out of the line, walking backward until her coworker follows her trail through the hallways of the hotel to the room they’d occupied for the majority of the last day.
They fall back into each other’s arms with smiles and a newfound comfort between the two of them. She’s lying on top of him as they each catch their breaths when she realizes the number of times his name fell out of her mouth and the way he grinned at the sound of it every time. How natural it felt, how easy it all felt around him.
And then, he helps her pack up the tornado of her belongings thrown around the hotel room and walks her outside to the line of taxis waiting to bring people to the airport.
She purses her lips after he’s put her suitcase in the trunk of a taxi.
“You didn’t have to do that.” He shrugs and sticks his hands in his pockets.
“I’ll see you back in Seattle.”
“Mhm.” She smiles and steps forward, wrapping her arms around him before he has a moment to realize what’s happening. “Thank you.” He returns the embrace, and she can hear the smile on his breath.
“Thank you,” he responds, and Amelia pulls back.
“I’ll see you in Seattle.” She waves goodbye, and it almost feels ridiculous because she knows she’ll see him again in less than a day. His lips are pursed as he waves back, and his figure fades away as the taxi drives away from the hotel. Her phone dings.
She doesn’t remember ever having him in her contacts, but the sight of his name, contact photo, and the simple message of, “Hope you get home safe,” bring a grin to her face.
And suddenly, life feels just a little bit less heavy.

“We’re over”
Amelia's words rang through Link’s ears as he walked out of the house. Link was on autopilot as he got in his car and drove away. The street signs became a blur as he was on autopilot. He just followed the cars that were in front of him until he finally snapped out of it. He realized he was somewhere in the SoDo district by the Old Rainier Brewery and just a few blocks away from Jo and Alex’s loft.
He knew Jo wouldn't mind him stopping over unannounced as he had done a couple of weeks since Alex left to take care of his family. Jo was always grateful for his company and he needed her. He locked his car and input the code for the apartment building, before running up the stairs to the loft.
“Jo,” Link yelled as he knocked on her door.
“Just a second,” Jo frantically yelled as he heard her moving things around in the loft.
Jo unlocked the door and pulled it open. The second she laid eyes on him, her lips parted as she took in his hopeless look.
“Amelia dumped me.”
“Oh Link,” Jo said, tilting her head as her shoulders slumped and she held open the door for him.
Link walked in and went straight for the freezer where he knew she kept the vodka, pulling it out along with two cups for them. He knew that with Jo they could just drink and be measurable together as Jo was worried about Alex.
“None for me, thanks,” Jo said, walking over to him with her arms crossed in front of her, but looked away and Link followed her eyes to the cell phone on her coffee table. He knew she wasn’t on call, for the hospital at least.
“It's okay, you don't have to drink with me and I promise I'll shut up when Alex calls,” Link said, pouring himself a drink and putting the other glass back.
“You can drink and I'll eat and we can both cry over the people we love,” Jo said, giving him a sad smile as she let out a heavy breath. Jo walked over to the kitchen and pulled out the leftover mac and cheese from her fridge, dishing him up a plate as well. “So did she give you a reason why?”
“She said she wanted someone who would love her regardless of her baby's paternity,” Link said, as he stole a bite of the mac and cheese before she put it in the microwave. “I mean, I love her, I do, but I want to know. Is that wrong, was I wrong to ask her for a paternity test?”
“No, you wanted to know and you asked her. That's your right as the potential father,” Jo said, turning back to look at him and putting a hand on his shoulder. “Amelia's just scared that someone who doesn't love her is going to get hurt because of it and that the person who does love her will stop loving her because of it. So instead she chose the easy way out, hurting you before you hurt her.”
“Therapy has made you really wise,” Link said, tilting his head at her and giving her a small smile as he patted her arm.
“Well once you start to understand your own complex emotions it's easy to understand others as well,” Jo said as the microwave dinged and she traded out the first plate for the second one.
“Does any of that understanding extend to Alex?” Link asked as he walked towards the couch.
“You're not here to talk about Alex,” Jo reminded him, grabbing the second plate out of the microwave.
“Well if you want I could go to Iowa and give him a little bit of brotherly advice,” Link said as Jo let out a laugh and he stepped on something by the coffee table, hearing the plastic break under his boot. He sat his drink and plate on the couch, sitting down before reaching to pick it up.
“Well I don't know about that, Alex and I... I don't know at this point. not after...” Jo trailed off, with a shake of her brown curls.
Link picked up the piece of plastic, the blue tip had cracked under his foot, but he instantly recognized what it was and turned it over to see the positive results displayed on the little screen.
“Jo,” Link whispered, standing up and turning around to stare at her.
Jo froze, holding her plate of mac and cheese and staring at the pregnancy test in his hands. He clearly wasn't meant to see it and she had probably tried to hide it when he knocked on her door. She had that look again, with her lips parted and her eyes wide; helpless.
“Would you mind taking care of another pregnant woman?” Jo finally managed to say, her words just above a whisper. “Because I truly think my husband has left me.”
Link dropped the tests on the table and ran to take the plates of food from Jo’s hands. He put them on the table before he wrapped his arms around Jo. Holding her and rocking back and forth just a little.
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry,” Jo said, fighting his arms as she squirmed and pushed against him. “This is supposed to be about you and Amelia. I should be comforting you not..”
“It’s okay Jo, and listen, Alex Karev is a lot of things, but he loves you. He has to come back for you and your baby.” Link tried to reassure her. He’d make sure that Alex came back to her, even if he had to go to Iowa and drag him back to Seattle himself.
“He's not!” Jo said in a mixture of anger and sadness. “I sent him a text and a picture of the test and I left him a voicemail hours ago and he still hasn't called me back. He’s not coming back.”
“Jo, he will come back! And in the meantime, I'll take care of two pregnant women, just like you said.” Link said, as Jo finally stopped fighting and clung to him. “I'm here for you, okay. I'll be Uncle Link and you can have some of my baby stuff. You'll love it. There’s this adorable little Seahawks jersey and matching booties.”
Jo nodded and tried to calm down as she let out a deep breath, before pulling back and wiping away her tears. “Okay, I've had my cry, your turn.”
Link laughed as he put an arm around her shoulder and they both grabbed their mac and cheese before going to sit on the couch. Jo turned on the TV to some late night medical drama that they loved to laugh at and they pointed out the inaccuracies while laughing at the insane amount of drama.
Yet, Link’s thoughts drifted back to Amelia. “I think I would have married her.”
Jo nodded, choosing not to make a joke about how he swore off married life after his parent’s divorce. She grabbed his empty plate and set it on the coffee table before he laid his head on her lap.
“We had love and the baby and I don't know, before she told me about the paternity I just thought, maybe we could do it. Maybe we could have the whole thing, partnership, a house, and a family.”
“Would you change your mind if the baby wasn't yours?” Jo asked as she ran her fingers through his hair, before grabbing a few strands and beginning to braid it.
“I don’t know. I guess I'm still waiting for the results.”
Jo hummed as her finger stilled. “Okay don't be mad, because it was 100% a hormonal thing, but I may or may not have talked to Owen.”
“What?” Link shot up and stared at her.
“I didn't say anything, at least nothing that wasn't hypothetical.” Jo rushed to explain it to him. “But he said that he and Teddy are in a really good place right now, and honestly I don't think he'd leave Teddy for Amelia.”
Link just sank back down as he nodded, turning his attention back to the TV again. “You can't just blame the stuff you said on your hormones.”
“Shut up,” Jo said lightly, hitting his arm. “Yes, I can.”
Things lapsed into silence again as they just watched the show. Jo’s fingers stilled in his hair as she moved to lay back against the arm of the couch. She culled up her legs as he moved his head to lay on her thigh.
“You should think about what would happen in both scenarios whether you can realistically co-parent or if you can work it out if the baby is yours. Regardless, don't give me the baby stuff, give it to Amelia, even the Seahawks onesie and you can buy me a second one because that sounds absolutely adorable.”
“It’s so cute,” Link added, looking up at her.
“Yeah?” Jo asked as she smiled down at him and he nodded.
Link pulled up a picture of the onesie for her and they cooed over it as Jo put a hand on her belly. Link looked at the way her shirt hugged her stomach and he could see the small outline of a little bump under her hand. He wasn't surprised that she was already showing, more so that it had taken her so long to realize it, as Alex had left two months ago.
“Are you going to co-parent with Alex if he…” Link trails off not even wanting to say it. The smile that Jo had as she looked at the onesie faded into a frown and Link instantly regretted asking her.
Jo took a deep breath and let it out in a huff. “I don't know, I guess that depends on if he calls me back.”
Link nodded, pulling up another onesie to show her and watching her face light up as she saw it.
“Amelia’s lucky to have you and if she doesn't see that, then honestly she's blind and you're better off with someone who sees the love you have to have to offer.”
“Thanks, Jo,” Link said, smiling up at her.
“No problem,” Jo said, ruffling up his perfect hair as he complained and tried to fix it but Jo only laughed.
They watch the rest of the medical drama and the beginning of the next show. Soon enough they both grew tired. Jo didn't want to sleep alone and Link neverminded sharing a bed with her. They slept like little kids together as Link had one arm around her waist and Jo curled up against him. They left the TV on, but before they knew it they both fell asleep.

i heart you
a/n: hi! here's a little holiday amelink <3 I hope you enjoy and feedback/comments/reblogs are so greatly appreciated and help spread my work <3
----------
Amelia pulled her coat tighter around her body before leaning over and adjusting the blanket around Scout in his stroller, smiling as his eyes met hers, and he laughed happily. She tapped his pink nose with her finger.
"You ready to go home?" She cooed, pulling his hat down over his eyes
She turned around at the faint feeling of a hand on the small of her back to see Link behind her, a cup of hot chocolate in his hand held out towards her, and she took it gratefully.
"I almost got trampled by an elf for that," he muttered, gripping the bar of the stroller, glancing over as she brought the cup up to her lips.
"Scout and I have decided we should just head home. I think that lighting the fireplace, wrapping presents, and tucking this guy into bed under warm blankets would do us all some good."
"You know, Winter Festivals look much more fun on everyone's Instagrams," Link sighed. He wrapped his arm around Amelia's shoulder, and she leaned into his body as they walked down the dirt path lined with Christmas lights.
The Christmas music playing behind them faded out as they walked further and further away from the lights and decorations, and the air around them became quieter and quieter until they reached the car.
She kneeled down and smiled at the sight of Scout asleep in his stroller, only moving slightly as she gently lifted him and laid him into his car seat, pressing a kiss to his forehead before closing the car door.
"He's still asleep?" Link whispered after he shut his door softly.
"Yeah," she grinned. "Something about being all bundled up in the cold always gets him to sleep right away."
"Just like you," Link chuckled, placing his hand over Amelia's on the console of the car, their fingers slowly lacing together as he backed the car out of the parking spot. "Blanket hogger."
"Hey, I'm not the one keeping the thermostat at ridiculous temperatures just to have an excuse to cuddle every night."
"It works," he turned to her and winked, squeezing her hand quickly. She reached over to turn on the radio, keeping the Christmas music on a low volume and glancing back at Scout to make sure his eyes were still shut.
"Can you believe he's almost three?"
"We've still got a few months, which is good because he told me he wants a puppy for his birthday."
"Maybe we can negotiate a cat, but I think a dog is out of the conversation. We've already got you," Amelia turned her head towards him as he pulled into the driveway. "Do you wanna grab Scout or the stroller?"
"I'll grab our little man," Link glanced back. "You run inside and warm up." She muttered a quiet thank you before dashing out of the car and grabbing the stroller from the trunk, bringing it inside, and closing the front door behind her.
"Someone woke up," Link sighed as he walked through a minute later, a smiling Scout in his arms with pink cheeks from the cold, bundled up in his jacket. She leaned forward and kissed the tip of his nose, grinning as he giggled.
"You need to go to sleep," she whispered, pulling off her coat and shivering slightly, "I'm going to take a warm shower and then bundle myself in pajamas and warm blankets, and you better light the fireplace." She directed towards Link as she untied her boots and placed them on the shoe rack.
"Sounds like a plan. You should say goodnight first." Scout lifted his head slowly and stretched his arms out to his mother.
"Night night Momma," Scout spoke sleepily as Amelia kissed his head and he relaxed in her arms. "I heart you."
"Goodnight, Scout. I heart you," she whispered, smiling as she repeated her son's favorite way to express love. "Alright, back to Daddy."
"Bedtime," Link sang to his son quietly, rocking back and forth with each step towards Scout's room. Amelia watched them until Scout's eyes closed with his head laid on his father's shoulder and the bedroom door shut softly to tiptoe into the bathroom and turn on the shower and relax under the hot stream of water.
She got out to the sight of folded pajamas on the counter and smiled, pulling them on and scrunching her hair with a towel.
Link was sitting in the living room, surrounded by far too many presents they'd bought for Scout and a roll of wrapping paper.
"You look lost," she raised her eyebrows, grabbing a blanket from the couch and wrapping it around her shoulders. "I can wrap everything. You can just keep me warm."
"You smell all lavendery," Link smiled contently, taking in the scent of Amelia's hair as she sat in his lap and leaned back against him. "Scout was out like a light as soon as he was in bed."
"Good, because we have to wrap all of these presents," she muttered, leaning forward and grabbing the roll of shiny, colorful wrapping paper they'd chosen. "This is our first Christmas together. Like, really together, without anything wrong going on that we're ignoring or something. In our own house, with your parents coming up for dinner and presents, like our own little family." He beamed happily and kissed her cheek, pushing a strand of her damp hair behind her ear. "It's calm."
"I think it's about time we got some of that," he chuckled, handing her a piece of tape. "We've had some crazy holidays."
"It's practically tradition at this point." She slid the box towards the Christmas tree. "We have to tell Santa to start wrapping presents earlier next year."
"We're not known for being on top of things, so I doubt that's going to happen. I think wrapping presents the day before Christmas Eve is going to be a yearly event for us."
"Well, the corny Winter Festival definitely shouldn't. Maybe we're just homebodies for the holidays," she shrugged. "Or maybe I'm just worried that Scout's growing up too quickly, and he won't want to cuddle with us anymore or get hugs every morning."
"We've got a while until he's a teenager. But, I think curling up on the couch and making a pillow fort sounds like a good idea."
Amelia nodded in agreement as she yawned loudly, closing her eyes and groaning afterward. "I think we can finish wrapping presents tomorrow night," Link whispered, "and you can get my Mom to help you. I vote that we go bundle up in bed, and you hog all the blankets."
"I'm not going to fight you on that," she murmured, standing and picking up the wrapping paper and a few gifts.
He followed behind her quickly, filling his arms with gifts and hiding them in their closet, out of Scout's view, before joining Amelia in their bed.
"Goodnight," she sighed, intertwining their fingers and kissing the back of his hand softly. "I heart you."
"I heart you too."

SMUT WARNING
“Link,” she hesitated, pulling away from him momentarily and catching her breath. “Nothing has changed for me.”
She could see it in his eyes as he thought, and it was silent for a moment until he surged forward and caught her lips in his. A moan escaped her throat as their lips locked together once again, and Link pushed her backward onto the couch.
She’d imagined this a thousand times in her head, running through different scenarios where they found each other in various supply rooms and empty hallways, both knowing better than to fall back into what they once had, but the appeal of it being so much better than any consequence.
It was so much better in real life, she thought, as Link moved his lips down her face and then her jawline, biting her skin gently as he kissed down her body. His fingers hooked under the bottom of her sweater, and she propped herself up slightly to allow him to pull it off of her body.
His fingers were cold against her bare skin, but her skin was burning under his touch, and she tugged at the hem of his sweater. He pulled it off, and she trailed her fingers up the contour of his abs until he leaned back down to kiss her again, and she placed her hand on his cheek. Amelia pushed him off of her and sat up, heavy breaths escaping her mouth as she unclasped her bra and moved towards him, straddling him and attaching their lips.
He wrapped his arms around her back, pushing her body towards his and holding her close, sprawling his fingers over her back. She wove her fingers into his hair as he quickly unbuttoned her jeans, taking down the zipper without a moment of hesitation.
She sat back and quickly pulled her pants down, kicking them to the floor and watching as he did the same before she resumed her place on his lap and laughed softly as she placed her hands on the sides of his face and kissed him.
It felt familiar, in a comforting way. His lips against hers, his hands running down her body, her fingers tangled in his hair, toying through the new length since they’d last been in this position.
His hand slipped through the waistband of her underwear, and she moaned shakily against his lips, inhaling slowly as he reached under her.
“Is this okay?” He whispered, holding his fingers back. She nodded quickly and kissed him again, lifting herself upward while Link pushed two fingers inside of her, a smile playing across his mouth once Amelia moaned softly in response.
“I want you,” she murmured between kisses, moving her hips with the motions of his fingers inside of her.
Link pulled his fingers out and hooked them around the waistband of her underwear, tugging them down to her thighs. She sat back and pulled them off quickly, while Link pulled his boxers off, and Amelia attached herself back to him, wrapping her arms around his neck and her hands finding their way back into his hair.
She could feel his erection pressing against her skin, and it made her heart race faster and her breaths heavier with anticipation.
She sank down onto him, quiet moans leaving their mouths simultaneously at the sensation they’d both missed.
“Amelia,” he groaned, resting his forehead against hers as she moved her hips slowly around his length. His hands wrapped around her body to squeeze her ass, and he thrust his hips upward as she lifted herself off of him.
Amelia smiled at his impatience, feeling the beating of his heart against her chest and the heaviness of his breathing, and she kissed him again before lowering herself onto him again.
Her movements quickened with his encouragement, his matching thrusts, and the soft groans that fell from his mouth. She could tell he was getting close, and she gasped as his hand found her clit and began to rub circles over it.
“Link,” she sighed, his name falling freely from her mouth as she felt herself falling closer and closer towards the edge. “Fuck, Link, fuck.”
“Where should I,” he started, pulling his forehead away from hers as he spoke.
“In me,” Amelia responded, slamming her lips into his. “Cum inside of me,” she whispered. “Fuck.” He grinned and put more pressure on her clit, slowing his movements to an almost painful pace that suspended her breathing for a moment until she moaned loudly, and her body shook as she came around him. Her movements sent Link over the edge, and he held onto her tightly as he released into her, their foreheads falling back against each other.
Amelia captured his lips in a sloppy kiss after she felt it pass, and she grinned when he kissed her back gently. “That was,” she murmured, cupping his face with her hands.
“Yeah,” Link chuckled. “Yeah.” She pulled back to look at him for a moment and laughed softly.
“You should bring me upstairs,” she raised her eyebrows and combed her fingers through his hair. “I’m not ready for this to end yet.”
“Okay, well, you better be quiet,” he muttered, reaching down and picking up the piles of clothes from the floor. “Because I don’t want to be answering Bailey’s question all over again.”

The Way Life Goes (2)
She thic and she important. Feel free to leave part 3 prompts or theories in my ask box. As always, enjoy...
TW: substance abuse
“Have you seen Amelia?” Was the first thing the general surgeon asked Link at the beginning of the work week on Monday. Link shrugged, pushing his overgrown shaggy hair out of his face and tugging his Ipad aggressively out of the charger.
“Nope.” He popped the ‘p’. Meredith eyed him in a way that made him uncomfortable enough to continue. “Scout and I have been crashing at Jo’s since Friday. I’d assume she’s at my apartment.” He didn’t get very far before Meredith stepped in front of him.
“Look, as irritating as it is, the minute shit is going down in her life she’s at my house in seconds. She didn’t come to the after party and hasn’t shown up for her shift yet today. I really doubt she’s just hanging out in your apartment.” She crossed her arms, looking somewhat terrifying, despite the fact that he loomed over her.
“I can't talk right now, I have surgery.” He replied, pushing back any fears of where she might be and focusing on the chart in front of him.
“She rejects your proposal and now you’re just done? What happened to you guys?” Link’s jaw tightened so hard you could hear the sound of his teeth clashing.
“She doesn’t want to be with me. It’s as simple as that.”
“I don’t think she doesn’t want to be with you. She just obviously isn’t ready to get married. And I think you knew that.”
“Whatever, Meredith.” Link’s throat was tight as he pushed past her, swallowing down his guilt.
She had somehow found herself to Link's apartment in a daze, praying he wasn’t there as she pushed through the door. He wasn’t. She grabbed some clean clothes and more cash before leaving once again.
It was somewhat exhilarating, living on the edge. Chasing high after high and making sure that the timing is perfect to prevent any meaningful thoughts from actually surfacing. So far she'd been excelling at it. However, it was when she was halfway back that she realized she had fucked up. Anger and self hatred hit her like a ton of bricks and she almost staggered back. The high had worn off and her mind had started to scream. You are so weak. Back here again after you promised the last time was the end. So many promises, she thought. So many empty promises that she’d broken time and time again. The promise that she’d made to be a good mother. Failed, again. Why should she even attempt to pick up the broken pieces after she found herself back to square one each time? Why not stop trying to fix it and just accept herself for who she truly is, an addict? Why keep disappointing the people that care about her over and over? There was no point. Not anymore. Scout’s name was blaring in her mind like an alarm. He’s better out without you. She convinced herself. Don’t let yourself ruin him. You destroy everything you touch.
“Amelia.” Camilla was looking at her weird. She tried to focus on her new friend, attempting to calm her shaking hands. “Wait too long?” She asked, digging into her bag. All Amelia could do was nod and pull out the cash. “This one’s on me.” Camilla placed a reassuring hand on Amelia’s shoulder as she rolled up her sleeve. She paused, with bated breath, until the image of Scout faded from her mind.
“Can you hear me?” Meredith practically yelled into the crackling phone. “I’m sorry, I know this is your honeymoon. I just still haven’t heard from her and you know her better than me so I need you to tell me what I should do.”
“Is this about Amelia?” Maggie’s groggy voice asked into the speakerphone. “You still haven’t heard from her?”
“I wouldn’t have called if I hadn't. I’m worried about her.” She could practically hear Maggie’s hesitation. “Don’t come back. Don’t even offer that.”
“She’s been having a rough time,” Maggie sighed. “Richard doesn’t let on too much but I know COVID has been hard on her. Link has good intentions. He just hasn’t ever had to see her at her lowest.”
“You think she’s using?” Meredith’s voice was hushed as she passed her Ipad to a nurse and thanked her quietly before letting herself into her office.
“I mean if I rejected a proposal from a man who meant a lot to me because I wasn’t ready I’d probably down a bottle of wine out of guilt." Maggie smiled bitterly.
“She’s stayed sober through a lot worse,” Meredith countered, glancing up to find Bailey waiting at the door with an expression she knew too well. “Hey, I’ve got to go. Tell Winston I say hi.”
“I will. Talk to you later.” Meredith placed her cell phone in her scrub pocket before meeting an irritated Bailey at the door.
“Where’s Shepherd?” Meredith knew what she was going to say before she even spoke the words. She bit the inside of her cheek, not knowing how to respond.
“Why?” She asked, receiving an eyebrow raise.
“Because she’s got a gliosarcoma in an hour and she hasn’t clocked in,” Bailey stated, fixing her lab coat and giving Meredith an exasperated look. “Look, whatever drama she and Doctor Lincoln are having, I don’t care. She can show up to work.”
“I don’t know where she is,” Meredith responded. “I honestly have no idea.”
“Wha--” Bailey started. She let out a grunt of disapproval before waving an agitated hand in the air and storming off. Meredith bit the nail on her thumb, sending yet another message to the missing neurosurgeon and wondered guiltily, for a moment, why she was so self destructive.
Link spent a lot of time in the ER compared to his colleagues. Compared to most other specialties, the majority of cases that presented themselves in the emergency room were ortho related. Most of the time it was pretty mundane, whether it be a broken ankle or a dislocated shoulder, but to keep the hospital from impending lawsuits, he was usually needed to supervise the interns, who were prowling in the ER looking for cases and trying to pop limbs back into place or reset joints, thinking they could handle it easily on their own.
As a result of this, Link was already in the OR when the trauma came in. He was sitting in the swivel chair behind the desk, dragging his feet across the floor to propel him side to side. He wasn’t paged so he was unfazed by the ambulance pulling up. Then again, he wasn’t really fazed by much these days after falling into a somewhat self deprecating state. He stared at the clock, hoping he’d be let off early.
“Did you hear about this?” Bailey asked Richard, as she secured her gown around herself and handed him a pair of gloves.
“Yeah,” Richard’s voice was a tone that Link couldn’t quite decipher. “Bunch of overdoses at Quilchena, saw it on the news in the lounge. Must’ve been something laced in whatever they all were doing.” He snapped his gloves aggressively over his hands as if he were mad at something. “This kind of thing has been happening all the time because of COVID. Addicts have been struggling during the pandemic. Never seen meetings so full.” Link found himself wondering if he was talking about Amelia. Bailey nodded to Richard sympathetically ask they rushed to meet the gurney’s being pushed into the ER.
“John Doe,” the paramedic announced. “Got naloxone at the scene, friend administered it. Conscious but having trouble breathing.”
“Page cardio,” Bailey ordered to a resident. Link watched curiously as Richard froze in place.
“Jane Doe,” the paramedic continued. “Unconscious but breathing. She--”
“Put her in trauma one,” Richard ordered firmly. Link wished he could see what was going on as he watched the blood drain from Bailey’s face. “Don’t let anyone see her. She wouldn’t want that.” It clicked in Link’s brain at that very moment when the pair of them turned to look his way. He got out of the chair he was in so fast that it clattered to the ground behind him.
Her face was so pale it was practically grey and her arms and lips were tinted a purpley blue. She looked so slender he felt like one could reach out and just snap her in half. Her expression was almost peaceful though, and that’s what haunted him most. The image of her was burned into his mind immediately and he knew, as they wheeled her away, that it would never be forgotten.
As Bailey and Richard steered her gurney away he felt frozen in place before finally, and without any indication from his mind, his feet began to follow them.
“She’s seizing,” Bailey exclaimed, her hands flying up to either side of her head to avoid holding any of her limbs in place. “Where the hell is trauma?” Link watched as she twitched, bile building up in the back of his throat. He felt slightly dizzy. He’d never been one to get queasy, even in med school while the rest of his peers either fainted or threw up during their first time observing in an OR. That’s when he knew he wanted to become a surgeon. He wasn’t sure if it was his ego telling him that he was superior for being the last one standing or the tiny and quick glance of approval the attending gave him before going back to ignoring him completely. Though, there must be something different about seeing someone he loved in this situation because he had to place a hand on the doorway to steady himself and looked away. Teddy came through the doors at that moment, brushing past him as if he didn’t exist. For a reason he couldn't quite explain let out a breath of relief that it wasn’t Owen. Something in his mind was screaming your fault, your fault, your fault. And selfishly, he hoped that Meredith, or really anyone who cared for Amelia half as much as he did, wasn’t at the hospital, and theorized that she’d probably beat him to a pulp.
“Can I help?” He found himself croaking, receiving only a glance from Richard.
“Absolutely not,” the general surgeon replied firmly, before finally getting Amelia connected to the monitor. Everyone in the room kind of paused for a moment, reading the levels and unanimously thinking to themselves silently, fuck.
“She’s coding,” Teddy proclaimed, as the alarm-like sound began to reveal itself. Link’s heart sank and he reached out to grab her hand, ignoring Richard’s orders for him to leave. Her palm was cold like ice, but not the dead kind of cold. Cold as if she’d just run in and out of the water, grinning and calling to him as if the ocean’s touch had electrified her, sending a rush of serotonin through her veins. Link remembers that look from when they’d gone down to California, for a conference that she was speaking at, like it were yesterday. She’d convinced him to go swimming, despite it being mid February, and had explained that diving into the frigid waves replicated the feeling of euphoria she used to get when a really good high would hit her full force. She’d told him about how she would swim a lot when she was first getting sober, craving the way the world felt like it was on pause and the way that silence filled her ears when her head was completely underwater. That was really the last time she’d grinned at him like that. Right before Covid had really hit. The first time they’d left Scout for the weekend with his parents. Coming up out of that water like she had been brought back to life.
He’d been so blind. He’d watched her slip into a mindless routine. Go to work. Drive home. Feed the baby. Put the baby to bed. Go to bed. Wake up. Every day, over and over. She would walk around like a ghost, stuck between life and death. He had ignored the way she'd fill her free time with meetings and when she had started going to sleep before he got home, brushed it off as postpartum and told himself that everything between them was fine. Postpartum doesn’t last this long you idiot.
“Clear!” Teddy’s calm voice echoed through the room, snapping him back to reality, and he pulled away his hand last minute before her chest rose and fell. His eyes flicked to the heart monitor, nothing. “Again, charge to three fifty. Clear!” The room fell silent as the compression pads thumped. Nothing. Teddy paused, staring at the monitor.
“Dr. Altman?” The nurse called out. “Again?” Her voice was quiet as the trauma surgeon lifted a hand in response.
“Wait,” her voice had become soft. The monitor beeped as a small peak rose and fell. “Come on, Amelia,” Teddy muttered.
“Charge again,” Bailey ordered.
“Just give her a second,” Teddy pleaded, not taking her eyes off the screen. “She’s fighting.” The trio of doctors stared at the monitor while Link fixated his eyes on his girlfriend and slid his hand into hers once again, interlocking his fingers with hers. Don’t die, don’t die, don’t die. The monitor beeped, and then beeped again, and then again. Link forced himself to look up and watched as the numbers climbed.
“Thank you, god.” Bailey brought a shaking hand to her face before closing her fingers into a fist and pressing it to her forehead. “We are lucky that the lord is looking out for this woman because the people in her life seem to not be.” The comment cut through Link like a knife.
“Bailey, that is not fair!” Richard exclaimed. Link had never heard the man raise his voice with such aggravation, even Bailey winced as she stormed out of the room, throwing her gloves to the side.
“She’s lost a lot of people...and a lot of surgeons,” Richard muttered in apology to him.
“Can she breathe on her own?” Link choked, looking at Teddy, who shifted on her feet.
“She’s weak. I’d like to keep the tube in for a couple of hours at least. See how she does. I’d also like to get neuro down here to give her a check. Let’s get her up to the ICU for now and monitor her closely. She’s stable. Let’s focus on that for now.” Link nodded, not knowing what else to say as Teddy pulled off her gown and tossed it into the bin before practically staggering out of the stuffy room.
“I didn’t know.” Something about the way Richard was looking his way was causing a buildup of defensiveness inside him.
“How?” Richard shook his head with disappointment, massaging his throbbing temple and trying to block out the emphysematous but rhythmic breath sounds coming from the breathing tube. “How, did you just not know?” His colleague was radiating judgment and Richard’s eyes narrowed into tiny slits before his entire body slumped, in no effort to lecture Link about something he should be hearing from Amelia. He looked at his friend, without a trace of condemnation, knowing, so easily, that it could be him in that hospital bed and her where he was standing. “It’s not my place,” he finally stated, tearing his eyes away from Amelia and blinking away any buildup in his tear ducts. He turned to the nurse and thanked her, always polite. “When you take her up can you make it discreet?” He knew the woman had recognized Amelia immediately. “Her reputation is on the line.” The nurse nodded as if she understood. Richard thanked her again before exiting the room.
Richard had ended up telling Meredith, who stopped by to let Link know that she and Hayes would pick up Scout from daycare and take him home with them. Link couldn’t read her expression, it was clouded as if she was undergoing an internal conflict that caused her to wince and look away upon glancing at Amelia. Some of the colour had returned to her cheeks, they looked as if someone had applied too much blush to a pale complexion and were hot to the touch. Teddy had removed the breathing tube about an hour ago. She’d gasped at first, her lungs whistling and wheezing in protest. Enough to make Teddy almost contemplate putting it back in before the breathing had settled.
“You didn’t look for her,” Meredith blurted out, as if she’d been trying to keep the words at bay. The look on her face told him that she regretted saying it almost immediately.
“Neither did you,” he bit back, more aggressively than he would’ve liked. Meredith’s face snapped away from him so quickly it was as if he’d physically hit her.
“If you really loved her. Enough to marry her. Her response shouldn’t have mattered,” her voice was as sharp as a knife. “She loves you and she’s been unfortunate enough to have most of the people she’s loved taken away from her. Do you know how rare it is for Amelia to come to Maggie and I teary eyed because she finally feels safe and loved and not being pressured into anything by the person she loves? " Meredith took a step back as if she didn't want to continue but couldn't help herself. "Amelia is a runner. She breaks under the expectations that the people that she loves have of her and she functions under the fear that the people she loves are going to leave her or die. So if you want to be an ass and make her feel like she isn’t enough for you because she doesn’t feel the need to commemorate her love to you on a stupid peice of paper, I will remove you from my sister’s life.” She was gone before he could even think of a reply and he stared wordlessly at the spot she’d just vacated.
“No,” the voice was so soft he could barely hear it. His head whipped to where she was lying. “No, no, no, no.” Amelia’s eyes were wide and she recoiled as he reached out to touch her. Her heart monitor climbed and he pulled back his hand. She was looking at him in a way that made his skin crawl. He realized, then, that she was looking at him in fear. She looked scared. It shocked him how quickly everything had fallen apart. How quickly he’d gone from someone she’d loved to someone she felt as though she barely knew. But it wasn’t really that quickly, a part of him was whispering over his shoulder. You just didn’t want to accept it.
“Hey.” The words sounded stupid as soon as they left his mouth. “It’s okay. You’re okay.” He found himself wondering what had happened to her over the last couple of days, the bruises scattered along her arms had become more evident as colour had returned to her skin. She gagged suddenly, moaning in a way that made him sick and he slid a kidney dish under her just in time. There didn’t seem to be much in her stomach so it was mostly dry heaving. Her heart monitor climbed every time he tried to touch her and he gave up on trying to hold back her hair.
“She’s awake?” Teddy stood in the doorway. Amelia looked up at her blankly before laying her head back against the hospital bed and staring up at the ceiling. The shame in her eyes were evident. Link nodded to Teddy, who gave him a somewhat genuine smile. “I’ll just do a quick vitals check.”
“No,” Amelia moaned, the pain in her voice causing Teddy to stop in her tracks. “I just want to go home. Let me go home.”
“You’re not going to go home though, are you?” Link glanced up to find Richard standing at the foot of the hospital bed, arms crossed. His stern expression was slightly wavering. Link wondered how hard it was for him to even be within two meters of her.
“Shut the fuck up,” Amelia spat, pulling her IV out of her wrist and throwing it across the room hard enough that the machine screeched against the concrete floor. Link grimaced as the IV site began to bleed. The sudden bout of energy seemed to exhaust her as she collapsed back onto the bed.
“We’re good for now, Doctor Altman,” Richard said softly, not wanting to watch as his coworker, and friend, incriminated herself in front of someone she’d regret. “You can go home with Maggie or I can check you into a rehab clinic, the choice is yours.” Link’s eyes fell to the floor, his face burning at the idea that he couldn’t be trusted to take care of her.
“Maggie’s on her honeymoon,” Amelia mumbled, the anger dying out in her eyes as she realized what his response would be before he even spoke it.
“I called her,” Richard confirmed her prediction. “Meredith is taking care of Scout and I shouldn’t even be in the same room as you.” Hot tears spilled down Amelia’s cheeks as she glared at him. You ruin everything. The voice in her head had been telling her over and over since she’d woken up.
“Rehab. I choose rehab. Call her and tell her not to come.” Maggie had arrived at the hospital an hour ago but Link decided to keep his mouth shut.
“Fine,” Richard sighed. “I’ll call right now.” He stepped outside where his daughter was waiting anxiously and placed both hands on her shoulders trying to calm her down.
“I need to go in and see her,” Maggie’s breathing was asynchronous, she held her shaky hands into her chest, trying to look into her sister’s hospital room.
“Don’t,” Richard warned. “She’s not herself right now. I shouldn’t have called and stressed you out. She chose rehab.” He watched as her face twisted in confusion.
“What? That’s ridiculous.” Maggie shook her head in disbelief. “Let me take her home.”
“I wasn’t expecting her to be this bad. It’s too much responsibility to put on anyone. I...I just don’t think it would be a good idea, Maggie.” He pulled her into a hug as she started to sob.
“Link, is he…” she trailed off as she buried her face into her biological father’s scrub top.
“It’s not anyone’s fault,” Richard sighed. “But out of everyone, he’s the last person that should be taking care of her right now.” Maggie nodded, cursing herself for not doing more as she had watched Amelia change over the last couple of months. “Has she mentioned anything about her friend Charlotte? She needs an ally, someone who understands how her brain works. I know how much you care about her, Maggie, but you can’t help her the way she really needs in a couple of days when the realization of what she’s done has hit.”
“Charlotte, the one in L.A.? I’ve talked to her a couple times, never really for too long, just over FaceTime when Amelia used to call her while living at Meredith’s.”
“Amelia brought her up a lot at meetings,” Richard bit the inside of his lip, hoping that he was making the right decision. “I think we need to call Charlotte. I think that she knows Amelia on a level that not any of us in Seattle can really understand.”
“Okay,” Maggie nodded, pushing her own feelings aside. “Get St. Ambrose Hospital in Los Angeles on the phone,” she loudly ordered to the intern, sitting at the nurses station, who had been just out of earshot, “And tell them I need to speak to Doctor Charlotte King.”

Falling
“Would u do me the honor of marrying me” were the last words Amelia heard, she just stood there, wondering where, when, and how did it happen, she thought it was clear she wasn´t ready for marriage, at least not yet. Link has been so focused in planning the proposal that none of them did what they had agreed on; checking in, for more tan eight months he didn´t notice Amelia has not been herself and that she has been going to meetings more tan before and the way she used to zone out while feeding Scout.
She didn´t want compolsury, and he thought because  he has been planning everything for weeks it meant it wasnt but it was, and at her sisters wedding? She thought. Is all shes gonna think about every time someone talks about it. Link then asked the kids if they could go back to the party. They were confused, especially Zola. Why would auntie Amelia just look at Link and not say a word? They love each other, she was still little but she had the mind of a grown up woman. She also knew that whatever it was it was between them and that she would always choose her auntie Amelia, she would love her no matter what.
Link, I – I told u, I´m not ready, not yet, I love you, and I’ve never loved someone the way i love you but- And before Amelia could continue to explain the situation to Link, he says, then why would u say no?, the brunette then said, I thought we were on the same page, and that we had the same opinión on marriage, and Link, you know that marriage wouldn´t change things between us, is like we are already married, we will always be together.
Link then said, if marriage wouldn´t change anything. Then why don´t you accept?. Because I´m not ready and I don´t wanna have kids, I know u do, I do not want to make u be with me and give up on your dreams and what you want. You and Scout are all I need. Then she said to him what he told Owen months ago. I don´t think I could have a baby without losing myself. The way I love you and I love Scout, it´s scary, it scares me. And that could mean I would slip. I dont want that, I want to be present enough to enjoy every momen with Scout and you, to be a good mother and someday a good wife, you and our baby are my life and my home, I do want to marry you but not yet, We just got out of Meredith’s house. One day at a time, lets just stay like this for a while. Just the three of us in our house, what was Amelia said while tears were streaming down her face.
Amelia, I love you, but I thought thats what you wanted too, and I didn´t want to wait, I still don’t, so now I just need some time to think. He said with pain that was visible in his eyes.  I just need to be alone now, were his last words before leaving her alone.
Amelia stood there crying, hoping they can rise up together. After all, they have  been through worse, but the look Link had on his face? She has never seen him like that before. And she was scared.
This is my first fic, I hope you enjoy it and tell me if u would like a part two.

My Sisters
Hey guys hope you liked this, sorry for it being so short. If you have any prompts feel free to send them. I am trying to get through the ones I have as fast as I can.
Meredith and Maggie meet the baby
Amelia had been in labor for hours, and she was finally able to hold her little peanut in her arms. She had waited so long to be able to hold her baby and he was finally here. Link and Amelia were so happy, they went through a lot, and at that moment nothing else mattered. They both laid on Amelia’s bed, Amelia holding their baby in her arms. She never wanted to let him go, part of it was fear that the moment she let him go she would lose him. And another part of her just wanted to hold him, she was in awe with him. Link couldn’t stop smiling at the scene in front of him, Amelia holding their little peanut. All the fear he had of being a father seemed to be washed away when he saw the little peanuts face. He never knew he could love someone so much, aside from Amelia, but he loved his son and would do anything and everything to protect him.
Link had convinced Amelia to sleep given that she had been in labor for hours. She was hesitant at first but then gave in since she was exhausted. Link was sitting on the cot next to Amelia’s bed, holding their newborn baby. He could never get enough of holding him in his arms. Suddenly he heard a knock on the door before he could open it, Meredith and Maggie appeared from the other side of the door. Amelia heard the knock on the door and woke up.
“Hey, we just wanted to come meet the baby. Hope we didn’t wake you,” Maggie said
“It’s fine, come on in,” Amelia said as she tried to sit up.
“Omg he’s so little,” Maggie said walk-in giver to Link who had the baby
“Can I?” Meredith asked Link, handed her the baby. He started fussing.
“Oh, it’s okay baby,” Meredith said smiling down at her nephew.
“He’s beautiful. You two definitely make beautiful babies,” she said which caused Amelia and Link to let out a small laugh. Meredith then passed the baby over to Maggie.
“So have you figured out a name?” Maggie asked
“Uhh not yet, we’re still debating out options,” Amelia said
“How are you feeling?” Mer asked
“Okay, I guess considering I just pushed a child out of very small part of my body,” Amelia responded, causing them to laugh
“We are so happy for you Amelia, you gave birth to a beautiful baby,” Maggie said, Amelia turned to face Link and they smiled at each other. This was their family now, them and their little peanut.
“Derek would be so proud of you, he would’ve loved to be here,” Mer said, this caused Amelia to start tearing up. She missed her brother so much, she wished he could see how her life turned out. She was happy with the man she loved very much and a baby that she loved more than anything in the world. Link took a hold of her hand and gave her a kiss. Amelia couldn’t be any happier, she had Link, their little peanut and her sisters.

Never Gone
Tumblr media
Thank you @amelink-greysanatomy for the prompt idea
/ Here’s a one-shot inspired by this line.
=========================
Set during S16, after Amelia gave birth.
Tumblr media
=========================
Link and Amelia are on their way home from the hospital. Not too long ago it’s just the two of them in the car, creating lifelong memories; blasting songs in full volume, the weekly drive thrus at every donut shop around Seattle, grinning from ear to ear while the moonlight hits each others eyes like they’re snow globes in a bed of stars.
And now there’s three.
Amelia just gave birth to this beautiful baby boy. The look on her face shows how, not an ounce, does she regret her decision of raising a kid together with the love of her life.
“I miss our late night drives.” Amelia said, looking out the window. “Staying in the hospital for two days felt like years.”
“I know. Everything’s in slow motion, it sucks.” Link replied, looking back on the time he spent months back and forth in hospital rooms as a kid.
Scout is sleeping comfortably in his car seat. Amelia turned her head around to check on him.
“He sleeps like you.” she tells Link.
“Like a log?”
“Yeah, we could be in the middle of a war and you would still be sleeping.” Amelia chuckled.
“At least I don’t snore.” Link turned to her keeping a straight face.
“I don’t snore, what are you talking about?” Amelia raised an eyebrow.
“Yes you do. It’s cute really.”
“Unless you have proof that I do, I won’t believe you.”
“Now how can you be certain that you don’t? You’re sleeping, how could you possibly know.”
“No. I don’t snore. End of discussion.”
“If you say so.”
Amelia places her left hand on his face grabbing his chin.
“Okay maybe I snore... A little.” she said, pouting her lips. ”But you love me.”
“So you admit it now?” Link remarked. Amelia removed her hand from his face, squinting angrily at him.
“Hey, hey. Sorry. I’m just kidding. Of course I love you even when you snore. You can be as loud as you want.”
Hearing these three words from him turned her frown to a broad smile in no time. A magic potion is what it is.
His features are highlighted by the dazzling street lights; Amelia can’t help but run her fingers, tracing his jawline.
“Chiseled. Like a statue.” she sighed.
Link opened the car door for Amelia, he’s chivalrous like that. He thinks that the simple gestures are what keeps the love going. Telling her how pretty she looks when she wakes up, picking flowers and tucking them behind her ear, making tea, or just simply asking how her day went. It’s the little things.
“I got him. Go take a rest. We’d be there in a minute.” he told Amelia.
He carried Scout inside and went straight to their bedroom where they set up his blue bassinet.
Amelia was too exhausted to function that she immediately went to sleep the moment she hit the sack.
-
Birds chirping. The morning breeze slowly brushing through the curtains. It’s a beautiful day.
Link opened his eyes and caught a sight of Scout and Amelia who are still asleep.
Waking up next to her is something he looks forward to every single day of his life. Her beautiful lashes, the way her nose crinkles when she yawns, the lines between her brows which she calls “mind cleavage”, the little freckles on her face that are barely noticeable unless you look at them at a very limited distance — makes him fall in love with her even more. It’s the little things.
He got out of bed to prepare Amelia’s morning refreshment.
“Got it. Thank you very much.” Link said, talking to someone. He put his phone down and started boiling some water for Amelia’s favorite passion fruit tea.
Amelia walked in the kitchen and grabbed a green cup that she brought home from Meredith’s.
“Hey, who was that?” she asked.
“Oh it’s Joanne, the new nurse. She told me about my jacket, I left it at their station last night apparently.”
“And she updates you personally? Don’t we have ‘lost and found’ for that.”
“Don’t be jealous. It’s a jacket Amelia. Not a date.”
“I didn’t say I’m jealous.”
“But you are. Nothing to worry about, okay? Love you. I’m yours.” Link said as he kissed her forehead.
“Better be.” Amelia smiled. She placed her hands underneath Link’s sweater, hugging him tightly, her chest touching his back. “Is that passion fruit? god I missed that. But if I’m being honest, I missed this more.” stroking his firm, muscular abdomen.
“Nah uh, doctor’s orders. We have to wait a little longer. Little anticipation won’t hurt.” Link winked at her as if he’s plotting something. “Doctor says nothing about kissing you though.”
“And this?” Amelia placed her hand on his behind.
Link turned to her and kissed her. Slow but intense. They haven’t spent a decent alone time together in weeks. The couple was caught up in the heat of the moment that they almost did it right then and there. On the damn kitchen counter.
“Nope, nope.” Amelia pulled away. Realizing that it may be a bad decision, she grabbed his face with both hands. “You’re right, doctor’s orders. Now can I have some tea, please?” She said, handing the cup.
“Coming right up.”
Link grabbed a packet of her organic green tea that she gets from this Chinese grocery store across Grey-Sloan. He poured hot water in the cup and put two spoonfuls of puree with a little splash of honey. The way she loves it.
“Thanks babe.” she said. “I’m gonna go upstairs, don’t wanna leave him there alone.”
“Yeah, I’ll follow you in a sec.” Link replied.
Link walked in the bedroom and saw Amelia sitting on the bed, carrying Scout and planting a kiss on his forehead. The tears started streaming down her face which got him worried.
“Hey. You okay?” wiping the tears on her face.
“I just.. I miss Christopher.” Amelia responded, her voice was cracking, a clear indication that she might break down at any moment.
“I know we didn’t have much time together. It was literally 43 minutes. The hardest 43 minutes I have ever experienced in my life. But it’s beautiful. I keep picturing him and Scout spending time together if he had lived.” she paused.
“It pains me to think that he didn’t get to live the life the might’ve wanted, that he’ll never play soccer and run to me when he scored a goal.” Amelia started crying. She’s been feeling this emptiness ever since she found out that she’s expecting. Link knows it. He rubbed her thighs, making sure she’s not alone in this fight.
“I love Scout. More than anything. It’s just that... Christopher was a huge part of my life. Always will be. And I’m proud that in that little time he spent in this world, he changed so many lives. That’s something I would carry with me forever.”
They haven’t talked about Amelia’s first born since that morning in the plant room. Link knows that it’s something very personal to her and it would be best if he won’t bring it up until she does.
“Amelia, you’re the best mom anyone could ever ask for. What you did was brave. And selfless. That makes you and Christopher a hero. In fact, he’s watching over you right now, babe. He’s never gone.” Link consoled her.
go little rockstar.
“Just cry and scream it all out, Amelia. I’ll get you whatever you need. Okay?
- I’m always gonna be here for you.”
he slowly cradled her head, tilting it so that it rests on his shoulder. She started sobbing.
After a brief moment, she took a deep breath. “Thank you.” Amelia looked up and caught his eye.
“It’s my job.” Link replied.
Link’s phone started ringing.
“Hang on, babe.. I have to get this. You’ll be okay?” Link stood up and grabbed his phone. “I’ll be back, this will be quick I promise.”
“Tell Joanne I said hi.” Amelia sarcastically responds. “Kidding. Go. I’ll be fine.”
Few months after, Amelia returned to work.
“Good to see you back!” Maggie gave her a hug.
“Nice to see you around here again, Amelia. People keep asking me for you. You’re in demand.” Meredith went in for a hug as well.
“Can’t wait to cut open some brains.” Amelia grabbed the charts.
“Hey. How’s your first day back?” Link approached her.
“Besides boring, it’s going alright I guess. Had a great cup of coffee at least. How’s Scout?”
“Last time I checked, he’s sleeping. He’s fine, Angela got him.”
“Good, I like Angela. She’s a good one.”
Angela is their favorite person to leave kids with in the daycare. She looked after Meredith’s kids back in the day.
“By the way, I’d like you to meet someone. He’s a patient of mine and he knows you. His parents too. They’ve been wanting see you for days. Years if you will.” Link said.
“Did I treat them before? Alright.”
“No, but it’s more than that. You’ll see.”
-
“This is Dr. Shepherd. You know her, right? Amelia Shepherd.” Link introduced her to this kid.
“Hi! I’m Brandon. Brandon Riley.”
“Brandon... Riley.” her jaw dropped.
“Pleasure to meet you, Dr. Shepherd. You mean a lot to me you have no idea.”
While this kid seemed to be a huge fan of Amelia Shepherd: the goddess of neurosurgery, their connection goes way back.
Brandon is now residing in Seattle with his parents. Few weeks ago he was admitted to Grey-Sloan for a surgery. He broke his leg after falling down three flights of stairs. Link operated on him and is now recovering in the peds floor.
Brandon is a former heart patient at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. Due to his heart condition, he needed a transplant. He received one from St. Ambrose Hospital years ago. And his parents had been grateful ever since. They have not met Amelia until today. Seeing her brought joy and heartfelt gratitude to the Rileys.
“that’s for Chicago.”
“Dr. Shepherd. We’re eternally grateful for you and your son. You changed our lives.” Brandon’s mom broke down crying that she almost knelt in front of Amelia. Link broke her fall and helped her get up.
“Mrs. Riley, I- I can’t believe this is real.” Amelia stuttered. “I’ve always dreamed of meeting the families my son has helped. And seeing Brandon in front of me right know, is just... it’s unbelievable.” she said as tears began to form in the corner of her eyes.
Am I dreaming? Is this a dream? I think it is.
“Can I.. hold his hand?” she requested. The parents granted her request without hesitation.
“Hi Brandon. It’s so nice to meet you.” trying her best to hold back her tears, Amelia glanced at Link. He gave her smile and a nod signaling that she’s doing just as fine.
“How are you? Does your leg still hurt? Dr. Lincoln is the best so you don’t have to worry about that.”
“No. I’m okay. Umm Dr. Shepherd....”
“Yeah?”
“What’s your son’s name? The one who gave me his heart.”
“It’s Christopher.”
“Do you wanna feel my heartbeat?”
The first time she felt her son’s heartbeat was also the last. It’s the longing feeling that makes her wanna reach the heavens just to have one more glimpse of him. One more chance to reconnect.
“Yes. If that’s okay with you.”
Brandon spreads his arms wide open. “I’ll give you a hug. So you can pretend you’re hugging him.”
Amelia reached out to hug him back; she felt an instant bond. She looked up and closed her eyes feeling her heartbeat syncing with his; the rhythm of each pulse started to sound like a melody. This is her son’s heart. Alive. Beating.
The realization of it all caused Amelia to dissolve into tears.
She hugged him a little tighter before letting go. “That’s a strong heart you got there. Thank you, Brandon.”
“My pleasure, Dr. Shepherd. My parents told me that the greatest present you can get is the gift of life. And Christopher gave that to me. I promise, I’ll take care of his heart.”
“You be a good boy to your parents, okay? They love you. And be careful next time.” she brushed his hair. “It’s so great to meet you in person. I only heard your name from my chief of staff before.”
-
“Bye, Brandon.” Amelia hands him her calling card. “If you and your family need anything, give me a call.”
“Thank you Dr. Shepherd.” he replied.
Amelia reached for Link’s hand and walked out of the room with him. They took one last look at Brandon through the window, displaying a smile on their faces.
“Let’s go see Scout?” Link wrapped his arm around her waist and pulled her closer to him.
“Love you. Thank you for doing this.” she stood on her tiptoes and kissed him.
“I know how much this means to you.” Link placed his right hand on her cheek. “I love you. And if you let me, I would love Christopher like he’s my son too.”
“Of course you can, babe. I would love him to have you too as his dad.” Referring to Ryan as his biological father.
“Let’s go.” Amelia embraced him with her left arm and puts her hand inside the pocket of his white coat.
“I can still feel his heartbeat. It’s crazy.” Amelia puts her other hand on her chest.
Amelia and her family arrived home after a long day.
“Today was magical. I’ll never forget it.” Amelia’s overflowing happiness from her interaction with Brandon remains existent.
“Rightfully so.” Link beamed with pleasure.
Amelia opened the door and saw a huge bouquet of peonies displayed on the coffee table beside their couch.
“That’s so beautiful. Ohmygod.”
She reads the note that came with the arrangement.
“For the best mom in the world. -L”
“Awhh Link.. you’ve done so much for me already, I can’t thank you enough. I love this. They’re my favorite.”
“I know. You deserve it babe. You brought Scout into this world and no present could ever top that. Gift of life, as they say.” Link kissed her hand. “By the way, there’s no Joanne. I was talking to the florist. I had those reserved.”
“I’m relieved.” Amelia creased up.
Scout woke up and started crying. “Mommy’s here. Mommy’s here. Shhh.” she said, with her baby voice. “Someone’s hungry.”
Amelia placed him in the stroller. She grabbed a pouch of breast milk from the fridge and started warming it up.
Link sat on the couch and gazed at their picture right beside the bouquet. It was a blurry selfie from the conference they went to in San Diego. He kept it in his phone and told Amelia that if they ever end up together, they’ll have it framed no matter how horrible it looks. To take a trip down memory lane if, at any moment, they feel the desire to.
Amelia and Scout joined Link on the couch.
“Whatcha thinking?” Amelia brushed her fingers through his hair.
“You. Our family. How everything started and the things we did for each other.”
“Well...” Amelia shrugged. “I’m holding the proof. And he’s already full.” she chuckled.
Link took them in his arms.
“Best thing.”

Eyes Full of Stars
hi! first, I want to apologise for not having posted a fic in a very, very long time. I haven’t had the most amazing august which has unintentionally resulted in me taking an excessive break from writing. though with that being said, I think things are slightly starting to look up a bit which hopefully means I’ll be much more active!
I hope you all enjoy this little amelink one shot <33
“Amelia?” Link loudly whispered before nudging her shoulder. He had been watching her sleep for the past ten minutes, deciding whether or not the current situation was important enough to wake her up. He decided it most definitely was.
“Amelia,” he repeated, “wake up.”
“What do you want?” Amelia mumbled into her pillow. “Get up, get up. It’s important,” he said.
“It’s the middle of the night, Link,” she replied. “Getting out of bed is quite literally the exact opposite of what I want to do right now.”
“Pleaseeeee,” he begged.
Amelia decided getting out of bed would be much less painful than hearing Link whine like that of a little kid until he got his way. She groaned before pulling the blanket off her legs. “I strongly dislike you right now.”
Link clapped his hands together as he jumped out of bed, running towards the bedroom window. “Come look,” he smiled. Amelia slowly made her way to her overly-eager boyfriend, rubbing her tired eyes awake. “What exactly am I looking at?”
“The stars,” he pointed. “Look how many there are.”
Amelia crossed her arms as she leaned against the wall. Link bowed his head before throwing his hands in the air. “Okay, okay. Go ahead and yell.”
“You woke me up to look at the stars two hours before I’m meant to be at the hospital,” Amelia confirmed. Link sighed before closing the curtains.
“I think that might just be the cutest thing you’ve ever done, Atticus Lincoln,” she laughed. “Wait, what?” he turned towards her. “You’re not mad?”
“Mad? How could I be mad?” she opened the curtains. “Look at those stars!”
“Oh thank God,” Link exhaled. “Let’s go on the roof.”
Amelia raised an eyebrow. “I’m sorry?”
Link unlocked the window before slowly climbing onto the slanted roof. He watched as Amelia reluctantly stood inside. “The view is so much better out here, love,” he grinned.
She smirked, shook her head, then, without much more hesitation, grabbed a throw blanket from their bed and climbed out the window. “Look,” Link pointed to the sky. “Which planet is that?”
“That’s an airplane my dear,” Amelia rested her head against his chest before sprawling the blanket on top of them.
“I told you the view’s better out here. Isn’t it?” he asked as he ran his fingers through her hair. "Look! A shooting star. Make a wish.”
“Again, my love, that’s an airplane,” she laughed, “but I’m still going to make a wish.”
“I was terrible in astronomy class,” Link sighed. He kissed the top of her head before looking back up at the star-filled sky. “We need to have three-in-the-morning-dates more often,” he decided.
“Oh, so this is a date?” Amelia looked up at him. “This is most definitely a date,” he confirmed.

Where are you?
Amelia glanced down at her phone, the text message lighting up the screen and illuminating the space around her. A sigh fell from her mouth, and she quickly turned it off, not wanting to respond to anyone. She was standing on the balcony of her hotel room, her arms hanging over the edge as the cool wind brushed across her hands. Another buzz of her phone, another ignored. She quickly tied her hair up as it blew over her face, turning as she heard a door open. "Amelia," Link muttered, "I couldn't find you. I was worried." Her head snapped to the side.
"Why?" He walked out onto the balcony of his hotel room, and she silently cursed the fact that they had adjoining rooms. The only thing separating them was a small railing to divide the balcony into two, along with the fact that she had positioned herself to lean over the far corner of her own. She looked back out into the night sky.
"Because you had a rough night. You left the hospital without talking to me." She heard metal lightly scraping the concrete as he pulled the chair to the railing that separated them. "Look, I'm sorry about what happened with your sisters. And if it makes you feel better, you have permission to ask whatever you want about my life, and I'll tell you. No matter how embarrassing it is."
"I doubt any of it will be as terrible," she murmured, grabbing the glass of water she had brought out with her, rolling it between her palms, and wishing it was alcohol. "Tell me something." There was a pause.
"I crashed my dad's car the day I got my license. In the parking lot of my school," Link admitted, leaning back into the cold metal chair.
"Were you high? Drunk?" She looked back at him, just seeing as he shook his head. "Yeah, I thought so. There's a difference between teenage mistakes and life mistakes."
"Amelia, addiction is a disease. You and I both know this. Don't punish yourself for something you couldn't control. You're sober now. I assume you made amends." Her eyes met his, the only noise coming from the sounds of New York traffic stories below them. "Your sisters don't know who you are. Neither does your mom."
"Neither do you," she scoffed.
"Why do you keep shutting me out?" It almost touched her as she heard his voice, concern creeping into his words. The slightest bit of guilt panged her.
"Because I don't want to talk about what happened tonight. Not everyone has a perfect family. Some people end up with shit ones. So, I don't want to talk about it."
"Okay." She turned back away, feeling his eyes on her back as she pulled her sleeves over her hands. "The offer still stands, by the way. You're welcome to ask anything or talk if you need."
The wind blew past them, and Link pursed his lips, watching as Amelia brought her glass to her lips.
"What happened with your parents? Their divorce?"
"I'm the only child. Cancer killed whatever financial backbone we had, and they were both so terrified of losing their only son that they started to resent each other for every little thing. If my mom was late to drop me off for chemo, or if my dad let me have too much sugar. Everything became a competition between them." He glanced up from his hands as he heard the sound of the metal chair dragging across Amelia's balcony. "I knew it was over long before they told me. I just didn't want to have to admit it."
"How'd you get through it?" He shrugged.
"I mean, as a child, I just played an unhealthy amount of Mario Kart and buried my nose into my school work. As I got older, I just focused on becoming a doctor. I felt like it was something I could control." He watched her pull her cardigan around her body tighter as a breeze blew past. "Do you want to go inside?"
"I don't think I want to be alone right now." She drank the last of her water.
"You don't have to be. We can sit in my room or yours, or with our backs against the closed door if you don't want to see me," he stood, moving the chair out of the way and heading towards his door. "Or, the hotel has a lobby; we could find somewhere outside of here." Link raised his eyebrows as Amelia retreated back into her room from the balcony, and he stepped inside of his own room to see her head poking through the doorway adjoining their rooms. She walked over to the bed, pulling her shoes off before sprawling onto the comforter.
"What about now?" He raised his eyebrows and waited for her to continue, taking his own sneakers off and lying beside her. "What do you do now to get through it all?" Her head rolled to the side, and she met his eyes. "You're already a doctor."
"Donuts," he grinned, feeling some sense of relief as her face softened. "Every day is different. Sometimes, I get a patient who reminds me a bit too much of myself. I cut my hair one time and then made sure to surround myself with company." Her head to the side, and she stared up at the ceiling. "What do you do?"
"I used to drink. Not anymore, though. Now, it's more alternative pain relief and quiet time alone."
"Well, you know that I'm here," he spoke softly, keeping his eyes on her as she pushed herself up into a sitting position.
Amelia reached over and turned off the lamp, ignoring Link's attempted question before she fell back onto the sheets, pulling the comforter up and resting her head on his chest.
He exhaled heavily, and Amelia could almost hear a laugh cutting through his voice as his arm wrapped around her and pulled her closer to him. "I thought you said no sleepovers," Link muttered, trying to hide the grin that wanted to stretch across his face.
"Rules can be broken."

……………………………………………………………………
Jo’s laughter rang through the loft as she leaned against Alex. Her giggles were joined by his own roar of laughter as Link sat on the riding pony. Jo and Alex had got the two foot tall brown toy horse for Luna for her birthday last month. But the sight of her partner on the little pony was the best thing Amelia had seen all year as she giggled.
“Yeehaw,” Link shouted as he rocked back and forth, waving around an imaginary lasso.
His time ran out long ago, but he was having so much fun that he just continued on riding. The four of them were all sitting around as Amelia sipped on her soda while Link, Alex, and Jo, were drinking for the first time in what seemed like a year. Ever since Amelia and Link had Scout and Jo and Alex had adopted Luna, their social visits usually consisted of activities for the babies. Since Link’s parents were visiting, they eagerly offered to take both kids overnight, leaving the four of them to have the first adult only evening in over a year.
The night started off with dinner and drinks and quickly turned into a drinking game of truth or dare with Amelia as the moderator, lest their drunken activities get out of hand. So far, nothing too dangerous or sexual had happened, although Alex’s hand was far too high on Jo’s thigh, and Link had nuzzled up to her pretty close, so it was only a matter of time.
After one last yeehaw, Link finished and came stumbling back to sit next to her on the living room rug.
“I was a cowboy,” Link said, giving her a big smile as Jo laughed so hard that she started hiccupping.
“You certainly were,” Amelia smiled as she leaned in to kiss him. “It's your turn. Do you want to go?”
“Yeah,” Link said eagerly before he looked over at the three of them. “Um, Jo, truth or dare.”
“Dare,” Jo said as she struggled to contain her giggles and hiccups.
“Okay, umm, I dare you to umm,” Link scrunched up his face in an adorably serious look as he tried to think of something.
Amelia's phone dinged, and she looked down to see a quick text from her mother-in-law, Maureen, saying that the kids had gone down for the night. The text was accompanied with a picture of Scout and Luna sleeping side by side, holding each other's hands as their heads were turned towards each other. She smiled and turned her phone so that the rest of them could see the photo. Link smiled as Jo took the phone out of Amelia's hand to kiss the screen.
She cooed in between her hiccups as Alex rubbed her back. “Aww, she's so cute. It reminds me of when she was a baby. I miss her being a baby. She’s so big now. She's walking and talking.”
“And getting into trouble, yesterday she got into the shaving cream on the ledge of the shower and got it all over the bathroom!” Alex laughed as he smiled at the photo with his crooked grin. “She looks so little and peaceful when she sleeps.”
Jo looked over at Alex and put a hand on his chest. “I want another one.”
“Me too,” Alex said, staring at her with a crooked grin as they got lost in each other's eyes.
Amelia wasn't sure how much of this conversation they would remember in the morning or if they would actually go through with it. As of last week, Jo was still adamant about putting off having a second kid since Luna was still in diapers.
“That's my dare!” Link said, pointing at them, as Jo turned her head back to look at him. Suddenly, he got very serious and leaned forward to stare at her. “Jo, I dare you to give me a second godchild.”
“Don't I get a say in this?” Alex asked, looking confused before Link quickly shushed him.
“Oh please, you've been trying to knock me up for years. Are you not excited to do it now?” Jo said, giving him a look.
Alex smiled and gave a shrug as he took another sip of his beer. “Fair enough.”
“This is so exciting. I'm going to get another godchild,” Link said, looking over and smiling at Amelia as she just laughed.
“Okay, but since I'm giving you a godchild, you should give me a godchild in return. Then our kids could be double best friends, just like Scout and Luna are!” Jo said, getting so excited that she started to bounce up and down.
“Oh yes,” Link said, looking back at her.
“Okay, hold up, cowboy, I don't think we should make this decision while you're inebriated,” Amelia said, trying to rein them in before it got out of control.
“Why not,” Link said, looking over at her with sad eyes. “Scout's over a year old, and I want him to have a sibling. Growing up as an only kid was so lonely. We said we would try for a second kid when Scout was older and if not now, then when?”
Amelia had to admit that she did want a second kid with him. She grew up in a big family, and although her family wasn't the best, she loved having a big brother. Derek was always there for her and she loved him. If they had another kid, Scout would be their big brother just like Derek was to her. She wanted that for her son and for her other child.
“Okay, how about we talk about this in the morning, yeah,” Amelia said, stealing away the last of the liquor and going to put it away.
“That's not a no,” Link said, looking back at her with a hopeful smile.
“No, it's not a no, but it's not a yes either,” Amelia said, pointing her finger at him, hoping that it would get through to his drunken brain.
“Oh, it's happening,” Link said before turning back to Jo. “We're both going to have another baby!”
“Yay, we're having twin cousins!” Jo said, throwing her hands up in the air as she squealed in happiness, while Alex just burst out laughing and wrapped his arms around her and pulled her in for a kiss.
……………………………………………………………………
A few weeks later, Amelia walked into the bathroom at the hospital looking for Jo in between the stalls only to hear her throwing up. She went over to see her hunched over the toilet right where Amelia had left her. She kneeled down and rubbed Jo's back as she continued to heave what little bile and water she had in her stomach. Eventually, Jo's nausea passed, and she sat back as Amelia handed her some toilet paper so she could wipe her mouth.
“Did you get it?” Jo asked, looking up at her.
“Yep,” Amelia said, holding up both pregnancy tests before handing one to Jo.
“How are you not puking right now?” Jo looked up at her as Amelia just smiled and bristled with excitement.
“I never really got morning sickness when I’ve been pregnant, and besides, I'm not pregnant,” Amelia said with a shrug as she struggled not to smile as Jo scowled at her.
“I hate you so much right now. I hope you're just as knocked up as I am,” Jo said as she glared at her.
“I'm not, but keep dreaming. Besides, you're the one who wanted to do this. You said, let's be pregnant together, it'll be great,” Amelia said with a smirk.
Instead of glaring at her, Jo squeezed her eyes shut as she put her hand over her mouth, and Amelia instantly regretted her words. Amelia's smile fell as Jo truly looked miserable. She had been throwing up all morning and, according to Alex, part of last night as well. Although she had never had much morning sickness, she knew how terrible it could be, and she felt for her.
Jo finally moved her hand away from her mouth as she let out of breath and opened her eyes. Amelia helped Jo up and handed her the test. Despite her morning sickness, Jo smiled, and Amelia couldn't help but share her excitement. Regardless of whether she was pregnant, which she wasn't, she was excited to get another niece or nephew from Jo and Alex. She knew the two of them would be so over the moon to have a new baby.
“Ready?” Jo said, smiling up at her as she tore off the packaging.
“I guess so,” Amelia said, with a shrug before she went over to the next stall.
They remained silent as they peed side by side before they washed their hands and sat against the wall as they waited for the tests to develop. Jo sighed and leaned her head against Amelia’s shoulders as Amelia wrapped her arm around her. Although Jo was Link's friend first, ever since Jo and Alex had adopted Luna and Amelia and Link had Scout, the two of them had become good friends as they became new mothers together.
Jo closed her eyes and sighed as they waited for the test to develop, while Amelia kept her eye on both tests. She didn't really think she was pregnant. She didn't have any of the signs. Then again, she didn't realize she was pregnant with Scout until she was ten weeks along. She was even further along when she realized she was pregnant with Christopher. Amelia was both excited and terrified at the thought of being pregnant again, but as she watched both tests develop two very dark pink lines, she couldn't help but smile. She gently nudged Jo as she picked her head up and gasped, putting her hand over her mouth as she stared at their pregnancy tests.
“We're pregnant,” Jo said, looking at her test again before looking back at Amelia, her eyes wide and a large smile across her face.
“We are!” Amelia said before they both looked at each other and exchanged a smile before they burst out laughing as they hugged. Although, she was apprehensive about having another kid initially. Now that it was real, she was extremely excited.
“Oh my god, I can't wait to tell Alex. He's going to be so excited, and Link too!” Jo said in excitement as she looked down at the test again. “Oh, we should do it together! Why don't we go see Carina, and we can get an ultrasound done, then show the boys the photos.”
“Okay,” Amelia said with a smile as she let Jo pull her up and out of the bathroom.
Although she was a little apprehensive about getting an ultrasound first off, she was a little bit excited. When she had Scout, she was so scared that he would have anencephalic too, but Scout was a happy and healthy baby. She felt more excited than nervous this time around, and she just wanted to enjoy her pregnancy. So she let Jo drag her over to the maternity ward as she babbled about how happy she was to see their babies.
……………………………………………………………………
“No way,” Jo said, again still trying to process the information, while Carina and Amelia shared a giggle. Jo was slack jawed and wide eyed as she stared up at the ultrasound screen that Carina had turned towards her. “No way.”
The two of them were sitting in the ultrasound room. Jo had completed Amelia's ultrasound and was happy to see that her little godchild was doing well and offered to be Amelia's OB, something she had eagerly agreed to. Now it was her turn, and Jo was currently laying on the bed with her legs in the stirrup and a sheet over her waist and knees. Carina moved the ultrasound wand inside her vagina to get a look at her currently very, very occupied uterus.
“No freaking way.” Jo was in her third year of residency for OB/GYN, and from the moment she saw the ultrasound of her uterus, she knew what was going on inside her, yet she still couldn’t believe it. “No freaking way.”
“I am just going to get a few more photos and once Alex gets here, I will let you two hear the heartbeats,” Carina said with a smile as she looked back at the ultrasound screen.
Amelia laughed again before she looked down at the picture of her own ultrasound. Jo couldn't believe that she was laughing and was about to call her out on it before the door opened, letting light into the dark room. Jo turned her head to see Link come into the room.
“Hey… Whoa,” Link said as he stopped in the doorway, turning pale before he looked over at Amelia.
She held up her ultrasound photo to him with a smile and a little laugh. Link's expression immediately changed to excitement as he rushed forward to wrap his arms around her. Finally, Alex made his way into the room, and just as Link had, he looked at her, then at the monitor, and turned pale. He just stood there in the doorway and stared at her, which was extremely infuriating.
“Twins,” Jo said, sitting up on her elbows as she glared at him. “You knocked me up with twins Alex Karev.”
Alex's jaw dropped as he put a hand over his chin, rubbing his beard as he just stared at her. “You're pregnant?”
Jo reached back to grab the pillow she was lying on and chucked it at his head. Alex was so in shock that the pillow hit him square in the face, and he didn't even blink. Finally, he seemed to come out of his daze as he came over to her and sat down on the chair Amelia had previously occupied. Alex stared up at the ultrasound and then back at her before doing a double-take.
“Twins?” Alex asked, his eyebrows nearly in his forehead as he just stared at her.
“Obviously,” Jo said, pointing to the two grey spots on the screen that held two little babies inside her uterus.
“Wait, you're not having twins, are you?” Link said, looking down at Amelia before staring at the ultrasound screen.
“Considering that the ultrasound wand is currently in my vagina. I'd say I'm the one with two babies in my uterus,” Jo said, glaring at him as well before laying back on the bed and crossing her arms. “But no, Amelia just has one baby. I checked myself.”
Link shrunk back and hid behind Amelia, wrapping his arms around her waist and kissing her cheek as she smiled, as they both stared down at their ultrasound photo. Jo looked over at her best friends as they had a sweet moment together before she looked up at her husband, who was still in shock. Alex was still staring, slack-jawed at the monitor, but at least he grabbed her hand and gave it a squeeze.
Carina laughed at the whole situation before she pointed at the screen where she had labeled each baby. “This one is baby A and this one is baby B. Although it's too early to tell if they're identical or fraternal.”
“We're having twins. We’re having two more babies,” Alex said, looking down at her as tears collected in his eyes. “I love them already.”
“I love them too,” Jo said, instantly tearing up as well.
Alex leaned down to press his forehead against hers as they both cried happy tears. He pressed his lips to hers as Jo let herself relax into his kiss. When Alex pulled back, he sat close to her and squeezed her hand as they stared up at their two babies on the monitor. She was both overwhelmed and extremely excited. Ever since they had started trying for a baby, they had both been so excited, but Alex was so ready for another child. He had already bought a dozen onesies, and Helen had sent them a dozen adorable large sized baby hats. However, they agreed to reuse most of Luna's things since half of her stuff was gender neutral anyway. At least now, the extra onesies would come in handy, as they would certainly need the extras of everything.
“Those are our babies,” Alex said, looking up at the monitor was such an affectionate smile.
“Our babies,” Jo whispered, looking up at the screen, studying each of her babies.
“We're going to need another crib,” Alex said, scrunching up his nose in excitement.
“We're going to need a new house, we can't fit three babies in the Loft. There's barely enough space for the three of us as it is!” Jo said with a shaking her head.
“It'll be worth it,” Alex said, leaning down and kissing her again, and Jo knew that regardless of how terrified she was to carry twins, it would be worth it.
……………………………………………………………………
“This is so not fair,” Amelia said as she stared at Jo, who was lying on the bed with a smile completely drugged up as her epidural kicked in.
As the two of them entered their third trimester, they agreed that they were both done with being pregnant, and they had been pretty miserable in the last few months. They had been doing everything to try and induce labor, but to no avail, until now.
They had been eating lunch together with their kids and whining together about being pregnant when Jo’s water had broken. Given that baby A was breech and both twins had large heads, Jo and Carina agreed that a C-section was necessary. Instead of being scared or anxious like Amelia thought she would be, Jo was actually excited to be in labor and had had a smile across her face ever since her water broke. Then again Jo had been an OB resident for a while now, and she knew exactly what she was getting into. So she just laid there, smiling and happily rubbing her belly.
“Oh your just jelly I went into labor first, but I have two Karev baby’s inside of me that have been torturing me for the past nine months, and now they get to come out, and I’ll be free,” Jo said smirking up at her, extremely excited for her C-section.
“Yeah, until they're here and they’re hanging off your boobs 24/7,” Amelia said, as she rolled her eyes, and Jo just shrugged, still smiling.
“Mama, babies here?” Luna asked, looking up from where she and Scout were settled in the chair across the room, watching a show on the tablet.
“Your sisters aren't here yet, Little Moon, but soon,” Jo reassured her with a smile.
“Mommy, my baby's here?” Scout asked, having heard Luna’s question and looking up as well. He had been calling the baby his baby ever since they got him a baby doll that they used to teach him about the new baby.
“Not yet bud, I guess they're still cooking,” Amelia said, looking down at her swollen stomach as she rubbed her belly.
One of the nurses Jo was friends with was supposed to be there any minute to take Luna and Scout back down to daycare. For now, they were all just hanging out in Jo's room. Luna slipped off of the seat and tottled over to Jo’s bed. To both of their surprise, Luna crawled up on the bed and settled next to Jo, who wrapped her arms around her daughter and cuddled her close.
“Hey babies,” Luna said, pressing her mouth against Jo’s belly to talk to her younger sisters. “Time to come out now.”
Amelia and Jo both laughed as Jo pulled Luna back to hug her close and placed a kiss on her head in between her two little blonde pigtails. Luna seemed content to cuddle against her mom's side, and Scout came over too, missing his best friend, and Amelia pulled him up to sit on her ever small lap as they started the show again. A few minutes later, nurse Sophie came in to take them down to the daycare.
“Bye, Mommy,” Scout said, kissing her cheek before he hopped down and took Sophie’s hand.
“Bye Mama, bye babies, come out soon,” Luna said, kissing Jo and then leaning down to kiss her belly before Sophie lifted her off the bed. Scout took Luna’s hand as they both waved to them as they left.
“I just heard from Carina, she is still getting the OR prepped, and I heard that Dr. Karev just got out of surgery and is on his way up,” Sophie said as she ushered the kids out into the hall.
“Thank you,” Jo said as Sophie closed the door before she looked back at Amelia with a smirk. “Still jealous?”
“Shut up,” Amelia said as she shook her head and looked away while Jo only giggled.
Jo closed her eyes and enjoyed a little bit of peace and quiet before she had to go up for her C-section. To be honest, Amelia was a little envious that Jo had gone into labor already. This was her third pregnancy, and at 38 weeks, Amelia was ready to be done. Jo had also been complaining about being pregnant with the twins from the very beginning. At this point, she was measuring at 45 weeks, despite being only 37 weeks and her belly was the size of a beach ball, compared to Amelia's smaller basketball sized belly.
Jo wasn't even supposed to be at the hospital, as she was technically on maternity leave, but Carina and Alex had her come in every day so that they could keep a close eye on her. Although, Jo was stuck at the nurse’s station doing paperwork and taking calls. Amelia, however, was eagerly committed to working up until her water broke. It was a good distraction from her frustration of not being in labor yet. Besides, she knew that when she went on maternity leave, she would miss surgery. So she had scheduled as many as she could and had two craniotomies later this afternoon.
A few moments later, Carina knocked before she came into the room. “Okay, Jo, the OR is ready.”
“Wait, Alex isn't here yet,” Jo pleaded, her smile disappearing as she frantically looked between Amelia and Carina. “I can't do this without him.”
“It is alright, Jo, you are only a few centimeters dilated, and your contractions aren't very close, so we're in no rush,” Carina said, coming over to reassure Jo as she placed a hand on her shoulder and Jo took a deep breath and relaxed.
Amelia squeezed Jo’s hand as she looked back at her and took another deep breath. Carina came over and sat in the chair on Jo's other side and took her hand. Jo closed her eyes and laid back on the bed, trying to relax until Alex got there. Amelia had gone through her labors with both of her sons without their father's present. She knew how hard it was and was so grateful that her friends and Bailey had been there for her, and she was determined to stay with Jo throughout her labor and C-section.
Ever since they had both gotten pregnant, Jo and Amelia had gone through most of their milestones together, although Amelia was a week ahead of Jo. Amelia had taught Jo all the tricks she used to make her pregnancy easier, although it was hard for Jo carrying the twins either way. They had found out together, they had gone to appointments together. They had even helped each other make up the nurseries as they had both bought houses side by side. Jo and Alex rented out the Loft to Levi and Link and Amelia finally moved out of Meredith’s place. Together, they combined their backyards to create one giant yard for all of their kids to play in together.
Suddenly, the door swung open as Alex rushed in, with Link just behind him. Carina got up and moved from Jo's side as Alex scrambled over to her. “I'm here, I'm here, Jo!”
Alex cupped Jo's face with his hand and rubbed her cheek with his thumb as Jo’s eyes fluttered open and she smiled at him. “You made it.”
“Of course I made it. I wouldn't miss this for the world and I got out of surgery as quickly as I could,” Alex whispered to her as he leaned over to kiss her forehead.
Link came up behind her as he wrapped one arm around her shoulders, placing the other on her belly as they felt the baby kick, and Amelia smiled up at him.
“Alright, now that the other Dr. Karev is here, are we ready to go up?” Carina asked as she placed her hands on the railing at the end of Jo’s bed.
“Meredith’s still good to take Luna tonight, right?” Jo asked, looking up at Alex as he squeezed her hand.
“Yep, I called her as I was running up, and she said she’d bring Luna up once you're ready for visitors. Then she’ll take her home for the next few days while you and the girls are in the hospital,” Alex assured her as he held Jo’s hand up against his lips and laid a kiss on the back of her hand.
“And she's going to be there too, right?”
“Yep, she's going to meet us in the OR. Everyone’s there waiting for you.”
Jo nodded, signaling that she was ready to go and Alex helped Carina get Jo prepped to move as he put the hair net over her hair and checked her IV again before they took off the brakes and began to wheel Jo out of the room.
“Are you sure you're okay with all of us being there?” Link asked again as he gripped the railing and helped push the bed down the hall and Amelia walked beside him.
The plan was for the four of them, including Meredith, to be in the OR. Although Amelia had heard that several other people would be up in the gallery as the whole hospital was eager to see the arrival of the Karev twins.
“Yeah, it's just surgery on my belly. It’s not like you guys are gonna see my vagina,” Jo said with a shrug as Alex and Amelia chuckled while Link turned red.
As they walked down the hall, Amelia paused for a second, letting go of the bed rail as she clutched her belly. She had been having Braxton Hicks contractions for the past few weeks, but they had ramped up earlier this morning, although she thought they had slowed down.
“Amelia, are you all right,” Link asked as he paused as well and put his hand on her back, rubbing up and down.
“Amelia?” Carina's gentle voice reached her ear, but Amelia didn’t respond as her contraction continued. When it finally passed she thought it was all over, until she felt a trickling of wetness run down her thighs.
“Oh boy,” Amelia said as she looked down to see her scrub pants turn dark as her amniotic fluid stained her pants.
“Your water broke. You’re in labor!” Link excitedly said, almost jumping up and down next to her.
Jo smiled as she looked over at her and reached out to squeezed Amelia’s hand. “I told you the babies were in sync!”
“Seriously, you too,” Alex said as he looked between Jo and Amelia.
“Okay,” Carina said, taking control of the situation. “Amelia, you stay here, and Dr. Link can go get you a wheelchair. I know we planned for either I or Jo to deliver your baby, but it looks like we might have to have someone else. I’ll have a nurse page either Lebeck or Connie.”
“Aww, I wanted to deliver your baby,” Jo said with a frown.
“Not my first choice, but they're nice enough,” Amelia said with a shrug.
“Alright then, hey Jenny, could you please page the on-call OB,” Carina said before she looked back at Amelia. “They’ll get you settled and check on your progress. Then after Jo’s C-section, I'll come to check on you and hopefully be able to deliver your baby.”
“Sounds good,” Amelia said, looking over at Carina with a nod. “Besides, I've done this two times already. I know what I'm doing.”
“Keep us updated though!” Jo insisted, giving Amelia’s hand another squeeze.
“We will,” Link said, as he grabbed a wheelchair from one of the adjacent rooms and helped Amelia sit down.
They waved Jo off as they continued down the hall before nurse Jenny took them back up to L & D.
“Ready to have a baby?” Link said, smiling down at her as his eyes sparkled with excitement.
“Yep,” Amelia said, smiling as she let his excitement fill her as well. She was so excited to finally have her baby. “Meredith and Maggie are going to be doing a lot of babysitting tonight.”
……………………………………………………………………
Several hours later, Jo was lying in bed with one of the babies on her chest with a newborn blanket covering them. Alex had the other newborn on his chest as he sat on the chair next to her. Her C-section had gone well and both she and the girls were healthy. She had been transferred into the postpartum ward, where she had breastfed them before the three of them took a nap. She had woken up a few hours later as one of the babies was fussing, but now they were doing skin to skin with each girl as they discussed names.
Still, she wasn't surprised when Carina opened the door to see that her new roommates were Link, Amelia, and their newborn baby girl as Link wheeled them into the room. Link had kept her updated on Amelia’s labor which had progressed normally, if not a little faster since it was her third. Yet, Carina had still had time to deliver the twins before going to help Amelia deliver her baby.
“Hey, you three,” Alex said, smiling up at him.
“Hey, you four,” Amelia said as she looked over at them as Jo and Alex exchanged a smile before they looked down at the babies in their arms.
“Guys meet baby A,” Alex said, gesturing to the little girl in his arms before looking over at the little girl on Jo’s chest. “And baby B.”
Link parked them next to Jo's bed as she moved the blanket back so they could see the little girl resting on her chest. She had the purple hat Helen had knitted, and her sister had the green one as their heads were too big for the hospital hats. Alex moved to sit down at Jo's bedside, and they held the girls next to each other. They looked exactly the same, but they were identical after all. They had the same big heads and round cheeks, although they were both utterly adorable and looked exactly like her. According to Alex, at least although, Jo thought they looked an awful lot like him.
“Still no names yet,” Link said with a laugh as Alex chuckled too and Jo just shrugged.
“At least this one's got a birthmark on the bottom of her foot so we can tell them apart,” Alex said, pulling a little girl’s foot out of the blanket to show them a tiny birthmark on the sole of her heel.
“It looks like Pangea,” Link said as he tilted his head to look at it.
“That's what I said,” Alex said with a smile as the boys chuckled, and Jo rolled her eyes.
“How are you doing?” Jo asked Amelia as Link and the nurse helped her into the bed.
“Exhausted and tired, but still kind of in awe,” Amelia said as she stared down with a little girl and her arms. “What about you?”
“Very, very much in awe,” Jo said as she looked down at the little girl on her chest before looking at the little girl in Alex's arms. “And pretty sore, but only a little tired as the three of us just woke up from a nap.”
“Lucky,” Amelia said as Jo giggled.
“We’ll probably take another nap soon, but we have to decide on the names for them first,” Jo said, rubbing her hand up and down her baby’s back.
“Do you want to know her name?” Amelia asked, transferring the newborn into Link’s arms.
“Guys meet, Sawyer Carolyn Maureen Shepherd Lincoln,” Link said as he proudly came over and showed them the little newborn who was the spitting image of Amelia with her nose, and chin, and tufts of dark hair.
“Poor kid is gonna have a great time with the paperwork on that one,” Alex said with a chuckle.
“Alex!” Jo lightheartedly snapped at him as she slapped his arm. “It's a beautiful name.”
“It's okay, he's kind of right. We could barely fit it on the birth certificate,” Amelia said with a shrug as Link came back over and sat in the chair next to the bed.
“What names did you guys have in mind? I know you were throwing around a few,” Link said, peering over at the little girls.
“Yeah, we have a few in mind, but we keep arguing,” Jo said, staring down at the little girl in her arms before adjusting the hat on her head as she thought of the names they had been throwing around.
“Jo’s still loopy from the drugs. She wanted to name one of them Clover,” Alex said, making a face.
“It's nice!” Jo insisted as she stared down at the little girl in her arms.
They had both agreed to do flower names as those were the ones they seemed drawn to. They wanted something that would be common but also unique enough that they wouldn’t have kids with the same name in their classes. So far, they had gone through a few names, but nothing seemed to fit.
“Do we still like Lily?” Alex asked, staring down at the little girl in his arms.
“Lily, I’m getting some Harry Potter vibes there,” Amelia said, raising her eyebrow at him.
Alex just snorted. “Only preteen girls would care about that.”
"Alex, you work with preteen girls,” Jo reminded him with a raised eyebrow.
He was already making plans to take the twins over to the Ped’s ward to show them off to all of his kids. They were eagerly awaiting the twin’s arrival, if not to poke fun at Alex for being a Dad of three girls.
“Oh yeah,” Alex's eyes went wide as he realized it. “Well, it was a long labor.”
“What are you talking about? My C-section was just an hour long, and all you did was pull them out and cut the cord. I've done all the hard work for the past nine months,” Jo said, glaring at him so hard she almost put him six feet under.
Alex could tell that he had messed up on that one and gave her a sheepish look. “Sorry Jo, you did do all the hard work and I did nothing. You were amazing.”
Jo accepted his apology as he leaned forward and pressed to kiss to her cheek and her glare lessened. She looked down at her daughter and tried to think of how the name would sound on each of the girls.
“I don't really think either of them are a Lily, besides it's too common,” Jo said, staring down at the little girl in her arms. “I think this one's an Ivy.”
“Yeah,” Alex said, looking down at her, she looked up as their eyes met before they looked down at the little girl in Alex's arms. “What do we think about Rose? She seems like a Rose?”
“I like it,” Jo agreed as she reached out to hold Rose’s hand as her tiny fingers wrapped around Jo's big finger. “Rose Meredith Karev and Ivy Josephine Karev.”
“My beautiful little flower girls,” Alex said, looking down at the twins before he leaned forward to kiss her.
Eventually, they all settled in, and Alex and Link lined up the bassinets in between their beds, placing the newborns inside of them as they quietly talked and took a few photos.
Amelia smiled as she looked over at all of the babies. “I can't believe Link dared you into getting pregnant.”
“I can't believe you let him get you pregnant after I dared him back,” Jo said with a smile as they exchanged a laugh.
“Best game of truth or dare ever,” Amelia said as she reached out to where Sawyer's hand had slipped out of the swaddle and she ran her fingers up and down her tiny arm.
“Yeah,” Jo easily agreed as she looked over at her little flower girls before she looked over to see that Amelia had laid her head back in her bed as her eyes closed.
Jo quickly followed suit as all of the girls got the nap they deserved while the boys looked over their daughters. Who would have thought that they would have ended up with three perfect little girls after getting drunk one night where Jo and Link dared each other to give the other another godchild, but neither Jo nor Amelia were complaining.
……………………………………………………………………
AN: I promised Coco that I would give her twins a while back and I finally did. Also, Jo really jinxes herself with this one. Let me know if you caught all the hints about the twins.

Amelink + Scout & snowflake(s)! Merry Christmas ❤️
amelink/scout + snowflake <33
"Mama," Scout whispered, standing at the edge of the bed, his tiny hands pressed against the mattress as he watched his mother sleep. "Mama!"
Amelia opened her eyes slowly, a grin immediately breaking out on her face at the sight of her son in front of her, reaching out and lifting him into her arms and onto her lap. "Good morning," she whispered, tapping her finger against the tip of his nose and placing a soft kiss there after. "What are you doing up so early?"
"Snow," he pointed towards the open curtains in the bedroom, where tiny snowflakes were falling outside of the windows.
"Woah." Amelia's eyes widened, and Scout laid his head into her chest as they looked out of the window. She reached her hand to her side to nudge Link's back gently until his head lifted and his eyes opened.
"Everything okay?" He muttered sleepily, rubbing his eyes as he yawned and sat up. "Hey, Scout."
"Scout wanted us to wake up to see the snow," Amelia muttered, scooching closer to Link beside her.
"Oh," Link smiled, glancing over to the window. "Well, what are we all doing inside, then? Let's get our coats on!" He jumped out of bed, holding his arms out and taking Scout from Amelia, who followed them as they ran into the hallway to grab their jackets.
"I'll grab gloves for him," Amelia smiled as Link zipped up their son's jacket, his body completely engulfed by the puffy jacket around him. "We don't want you getting too cold, Scout."
"Here," Link handed her a jacket, replacing his empty arms with a giggling toddler. "Alright, let's move it!"
Amelia scrunched her nose as he opened the front door and a burst of cold air came through, and she shoved her hands into her pockets after closing the door behind her.
Scout was in the middle of their front yard, standing in front of his father with his arms outstretched, happily laughing as snowflakes fell around him. She walked over to the two of them and kneeled into the dusting of snow over the grass.
"Here, Mama," Scout whispered, holding his glove towards her. "A snowflake for you!"

“just shut up and fuck me” amelink s18
story: amelia shows up at link’s home with a request. season 18. SMUT WARNING
He frowned at the knock on the door and hurried up, carefully setting the baby monitor down on the counter and opening the door as quietly as he could. “Amelia?”
She took a step forwards and wrapped her arms around his neck, standing up tall and smashing her lips against his.
“What’s going on-“
“Just shut up and fuck me,” Amelia growled, pulling him towards her by the collar of his shirt. “I can’t do this anymore, with you looking at me because I know you’re mad, but it’s so goddamn hot,” she muttered, kissing him harder. “Fuck me like you used to.”
He didn’t wait another moment to push her jacket from her shoulders, pulling up her shirt and lifting her into his arms as the clothing hit the floor. He walked them into the bedroom, throwing her down on the bed and tearing off his own shirt.
His head rolled back as she tugged at the waistband of his sweatpants, pushing it down and wrapping her small hand around his cock.
“Fuck, Amelia,” he groaned. She sat back with a triumphant grin on her face, unclasping her bra quickly before unbuttoning her pants and taking them off in a swift motion. Link leaned forward and shoved her lightly so that she would fall back onto the bed. “Is there something you want from me?”
He moved his hand to her underwear, tracing his fingers across the wetness soaking through the fabric and watching the frustration on her face. He pressed against her clit through the fabric.
“You know what I want.”
“I want to hear you say it.” Her lips pursed in annoyance. “Stubborn,” he muttered, grabbing her hips and flipping her over onto her hands and knees. “That’s not going to get you anywhere.”
“Fuck me, Link, fuck me like your life depends on it.”
He grinned in satisfaction and pushed the fabric of her underwear aside. He pushed into her from behind, placing his hands on her hips to anchor himself.
His name fell from her mouth as her head dropped down and she sighed in pleasure. Link pulled out of her and pushed back in.
The room around them filled with the sounds of their moans and his skin slapping against hers, both of them grateful for the familiar feeling of each other.
“More,” she panted, moving her hips back and forth as he pushed in and out. “Oh-“
She began moving her body in slow circles until her movements matched his pace, and he squeezed her ass. Amelia’s head dropped onto the bed, the comforter quieting her incoherent moans.
It wasn’t long until his vision blurred slightly, and he could tell from her whimpering that she was close. He lifted his hand and maneuvered it under her body to press his fingers against her clit.
“Cum, Amelia,” he growled, knowing he wouldn’t last any longer. “Cum.”
He smiled as he felt her release, allowing himself to release inside of her as she moaned in pleasure.
He pulled out of her once his orgasm passed and fell onto the bed beside her. She lifted her head enough to look at him.
“I’ve missed you.”
