✨ for a random fact about aria? :3
..I mean, Aria is a self-insert rather than an OC, but- thank you anyway for this, friend!
(source: this post by dragonsmooch)
Send me ✨ for a random thing about one of my OCs! (Optional: You can specify one!) - I know I've mentioned this before, but I can never remember how widely it's known, so I'll say it again anyway. Aria is the self-insert I've had the longest as a proper "this is me, but with lore to fit the game world" self-insert, as well as being one of the self-inserts that's existed the longest overall (the few that may beat her would include Camille, Amber, and technically also Emily, but I don't tend to count her since she didn't have story until after I started selfshipping unlike the other two). She started out as my player character in KHUX, who I gave the lore of "uses darkness instead of light" right from the beginning of playing the game, but then the rest of her lore (such as her being a Heartless) came about from the start of 2018 onwards. Some of her story, like leaving her original party under bad circumstances, reflects how things actually went for me playing the game!
This means that Aria is who tends to be used as a placeholder for whenever I want to make a new self-insert for something, which is partially ironic considering that - by virtue of being from Kingdom Hearts - she could technically appear as herself in many other game worlds. Examples of self-inserts that started out as "Aria but in something else" that I can recall off the top of my head include Alectra (actually probably Lamia too - the two of them together kind of combine a lot of Aria's aspects, Alectra personality-wise and Lamia lore-wise), Telanthera, possibly Sapphire despite how different she now is?, I think Ardea, Catarina to some extent, maybe Echo, and most recently (and perhaps most obviously) Lorenza. By contrast, self-inserts that definitely didn't derive from Aria include Adriana, Calanthe, Citri (since she kind of derived from Calanthe), Emily, Seralune, Alise, and Amber.
Hopefully this worked as a fact! Thank you very much once again for sending this, friend!~

Mondstadt genshin characters and games I think they'd play
Because I had nothing better to do tonight lol
Albedo
Would not spend a lot of time playing games. Usually plays games when invited by others, which means usually any game Klee asks him to play with her. Besides that probably solo based games with heavy science themes. When playing with others he usually takes over alchemy production, making potions, crafting magical objects for spell casting, and being the expert everyone goes to when they dont remember where/ how to get magical objects, or what potions are best to use against certain enemies.
Amber
I immediately think of people who run hunt farms in FFXIV. General explorer in open worlds/sandbox games, but I think amber would find organizing teams for triggerable content most enjoyable. If you don't know, some hunts or fates in FFXIV have to be triggered by doing certain objectives or reaching a certain goal in a limited amount of time. These hunts and fates are very hard and require a lot of people to fight. Amber would definitely be the kind of person to help newer players defeat rare and hard bosses.
Barbara
Just dance. She played them as a child and helped fuel her ambition to be an idol. She played them to help improve her timing and body control. She found them more fun than dance lessons since she could go at her own pace and study herself to see what she thought she could improve. Also has a tamagotchi/pet game that was recommended to her. It helps her feel less alone.
Bennett
I was wondering how I could fuck with Bennetts bad luck and I think the game I’ve had the most trouble with RNG is mount farming in, once again, FFXIV. Bennett would play games with teams and would end up focusing a lot of time into farming for special items. He's spent a lot of time guild hopping since most leaders realize having him around means they will be farming forever and no one will get the items unless the game has a guarantee system. And in FFXIV if you're mount farming that means for extreme trials you'll have to complete each run 99 times. Yikes.
Diluc
Not a gamer. Also has a tamagotchi esque game. If he were dragged into playing with others I think he might enjoy games like Dead By Daylight. Doesn’t get scared or nervous, but enjoys messing with hunters. Will sacrifice himself so everyone else can escape.
Diona
Monster hunter. I initially thought of dungeon delving type games, but then I thought just going in and fighting something would be too bland and boring for her to enjoy all the time. Monster hunter is higher in difficulty and requires more strategic movements of the character and their attacks. That and you usually have your target run away and you have to track them down again. Endless fun for her when she's not out actually hunting.
Eula
Assists Amber with organizing events. She doesn't think of herself as much of a gamer herself but is willing to help a friend. Is actually Ambers team leader in game, Aka the person who learns fights the quickest or first and ensures her team is optimized and ready for combat, the person doing callouts for game mechanics. Would not play if not for amber tho. Always somehow has endgame gear faster than everyone else and rarely ever gets hit by avoidable attacks. She takes it very seriously. Pro gamer and doesn't even realize it.
Fischl
Dnd. Hands down we all know it. All kinds of role playing games are her literal life. She can play baldurs gate games at home, she can DM/GM oneshots without much prep just out in the wild. All of it. But this was an obvious choice. She plays story based games and is an actual nerd when it comes to the lore of any game she plays. More importantly she enjoys any game where she can play with friends. Solo companion games are fun, but she truly cherishes the moments she creates when playing with her friends.
Jean
Also not really a gamer. She doesn't have the time, but when she's in the mood while waiting with nothing else to do she'll pull out some strategy game on her phone. Could be something like tower defense or as simple as playing against a difficult bot in chinese checkers.
Fun Fact chinese checkers was made in Germany and is actually called Sternhalma. I headcanon Venti invented them for their simplicity in retaliation to Liyues more difficult tabletop strategy games like “Go” since he found he could not defeat Morax at a game he created (another headcanon) and nicknamed it “liyuen checkers”.
Kaeya
Untitled Goose Game. Mischievous problem solving is right up his alley. Also likes horror but unlike Rosaria he does enjoy cheap jumpscares. You will find him playing all sorts of indie horror games, even ones made by amateurs that obviously look not too great and end up being pretty buggy, but he find that to be the best part. He also enjoys any game he can troll his friends in.
Klee
Generally enjoys most games. You'll find her minecraft worlds end up turned to dust with how much TNT she uses. It's a good lesson for her though because unlike in real life where her bombs might cause huge fires and broken buildings, the bombs in minecraft irreparably destroy the landscape and it doesn't just fix itself over time. Massive broken rivers and holes in mountains. Vast swathes of trees just gone. She spends quite a bit of time trying to make it look nice again especially when she's playing with others. Sometimes she just over estimates how much TNT she needs to use and forgets they can set off chain reactions to be sent flying to unintended locations. Great to have around when you find leveling mountains to be too much work tho.
Lisa
Would rather read a book. Finds people who play games on their phones in the library with the sound to be bothersome. Why come to the library to play games anyway? But I think she would use strategy games to her advantage to get Jean to take something of a break. Find collectable games like mochi cats cute tho.
Mika
I actually don't know Mika too well, but if i had to guess…Terraria. I think he'd like Terraria. I also like Terraria. Also more ffxiv but only because he seriously reminds me of a chocobo. Would play for story or sometimes you just want a game like terraria you can get lost in for a week straight just exploring, building, and progressing.
Mona
I feel like she's a candy crush kind of girl. Ads and all. Doesn't spend a lot of time playing games and most certainly doesn't spend money on expensive ones, they aren't very high priority. But sometimes you just need something to pass the time. And if her plethora of books don't cut it or she just needs a break, I think she'd go for such a simple kind of game.
Noelle
I feel like she'd not allow herself to play games very much. Why sit around when you could be doing something more productive or training. Best chances of finding her playing games is when shes sick or injured. She’ll buy and install games just to help out her friends. Oh your inventory is a mess? Leave it to Noelle. Oh you need to farm materials? Noelle will help you. She is one to find repetitive actions like material farming and organizing to be relaxing and enjoyable. She will definitely help Bennett with his item farming and will not stop until he gets that item he wants.
Razor
One of the few characters I think would have a hard time learning to play video games. At first at least. See I would say the first game he ever played is a mario kart type game. And that requires quite a bit of control and hand eye coordination in ways he is not used to. And that meant while he was playing this kind of game at a friend's house he was constantly getting stuck, going backwards, and driving off the road. But he got better at it over time, and really enjoyed racing against his friends. Will usually play any game just be sure to give him plenty of time and support while he learns the controls for every game.
Rosaria
Dark souls games. High difficulty and has horror themes she enjoys. Does not like any old horror games. You won't find her playing something with cheap jumpscares or baby horror. Resident evil games are also something she likes. Corpse Party was one she played when she first started playing games. Single player only kind of gamer, but if we were to imagine an xreader scenario then i think she'd enjoy your company, watching while she plays.
Actually found she has a love for psychological horror games like DDLC after playing it since she couldn't understand what people meant by such a cute looking game being scary. It's an all time favorite of hers now.
Sucrose
Games for other types of media she enjoys. If a book or show she liked got a game then that's the sort of game you'd usually find her playing. I feel like she'd also enjoy a game like Grounded. Shrunk down to the size of an ant and made to explore a backyard in such a tiny size, getting to see the world (the backyard) from such a tiny point of view would be interesting for her.
Venti
Has played all the games and even invented a few. I already talked about Chinese checkers but I also think he would be the one to create the tamagotchis or at least be the first to bring up the idea. He always wants his people to be happy and have fun, so once the technology came around I think he introduced the pet caring type games to help his people in ways they may find helped by the little game. He has helped in some way or another with the creation or promotion of a number of casual and easy to play games.
As easy as it would be to say he plays rhythm games or has music games he messes with sometimes, I think as the greatest bard in all of teyvat that he would find those games just too easy. Not that he wouldn't play them ofc. Oh no he's played them alright, and has perfect scores on all such music oriented games.

★ Welcome ★
This is my main blog for FFXIV & BG3, it's nice to have you here! You can find my ramblings about my Characters. I'm not currently into rp, but maybe one day, who knows. I like to write about my characters, post aesthetics and draw them. Feel free to send me questions, I love them!
Right now I'm trying to structure things differently, both here on Tumblr and in game. I've started a completely new journey with Rem and you may not see the appropriate glamour on him for now, as I have no idea how to use mods lol. I also moved to Dynamis with my old main Fine, feel free to add me :)
Character Profiles:
FFXIV:
Rem Amber - here & here Other Characters - here
BG3:
Feli - WIP
I will occasionally post artwork for my own project, Winds of Illdur, and give it the hashtag #Illdur for anyone interested in Fantasy World Building.
You can also find me on Twitter and Instagram!
I also have a side blog for World of Warcraft and Diablo so check it out if you want. @iny-jays
About me: I'm an 27 old design student from Germany who will soon be in her finals. I love to draw and have a way too many OCs. I wish I could write as fast as I could think, but unfortunately I'm very slow. Started playing FFXIV two years ago and I'm exited to see what will happen in 7.0!

swtor asks: 46, 39, 43, 22, 26
Woe, more swtor asks be upon us! I had to rotate some of these overnight, lol.
22. One feature not in-game that you'd love to see?
Cheating, I'm giving you two because I wrote a big paragraph about one and then there's also: I'd kill for a playable tech-based sword wielding-class. The fact that only my Force users can use the cool swords and whatnot, but at the expense of robbing them of lightsabers while there's npcs running around swinging vibroswords is a bit of a crime, tbh.
Anyway, it'd be fucking awesome and I'd actually give Tyr a second combat style for it because I think that'd be so hot for him. How much I'd actually play it instead of Operative is maybe a different story because I'm a little stealth princess, but hey, we're talking about options here, lol.
Anyway, on a slightly more... fleshed out note? This gets long quickly, let me put a cut here.
SO. Okay, this may exist and I’m just blind to it because I don’t generally do group or raid content of any kind [hamster peace sign meme here], but FFXIV has something called Party Finder which is sort of… if a group finder and a message board? It’s got sections for dungeons [standard 4 person party composition], trials [8 players], alliances [24 player encounters], etc. XIV players generally use this to build parties for current, on-level higher difficulty content such as extremes or savage raids rather than using the random matchmaker ie group finder equivalent that'd just pitch you into a queue, but it can also be used to form ‘premade’ groups to clear older content either synced [level/abilities adjusted back to release-era] or to overlevel the ever-loving shit out of some poor lvl 60 or 70 boss and just take their lunch money.
It’s a really nice system to even know what content is out there and has several filters/status settings for party conditions like syncing or priorities (are you looking for a learning party focused on clearing at all or doing several preferably quick, clean kills in succession for looting purposes, etc) and you can search by roles/jobs in need. In XIV, I’ve cleared most of the higher difficulty content I’ve seen via Party Finder groups; not all friends want to do the same content/same level of content at the same time, schedules don’t line up, etc., or guilds/free companies just be intimidating, lol. Never fear! Party Finder is here.
Something about the systemic nature of it makes it less intimidating in my brain, too, than like, random shouts on the fleet or whatever to fill groups. Probably the added context of party descriptions and objective labels. If you don't get what they put on the tin, then someone labeled their party finder incorrectly, but it's meant to give you an idea of what you're getting into before you commit and we do love to see that.
26. Weapon of choice?
I agonized over this one, lol. Picking just one was a tricky endeavor because I've fallen into the rabbit hole of personalizing sets down to weapons for different characters, so I have a handful of favorites I've nominated for mention.
I recently got the Frontiersman's Blaster Rifle for Len (I've been eyeing it for probably a month trying to figure out who/which outfit to put it on), Rhyst's most prominent is probably the Inscrutable Dualsaber with... I think a smoky amber color crystal? Oli has the EE-2 Blaster Pistol (I like the blue lights). Nikihlus has the Zakuulan Exile's Sniper Rifle, possibly with a red color crystal, I don't remember if I modded it at all, but the extra shing of the blade attachment when you draw it is everything to me. Annnd Barreth, one of my Consulars, got Vengeance's Unsealed Lightsaber that I have her wield a pair of with a green indestructible crystal.
39. Single saber, twin sabers, or dual sabers?
Hmmm… contextualized as in like, what combat style I prefer, I actually… really like Juggernaut more than Marauder?
Anyway, my OG Consular has a dualsaber and I’ll live and die by the fact that dualsabers kick ass. They’re so cool. Particularly when [maybe cheating] you can, like, detach them and now you have TWO laser swords? [I made his second combat style Sentinel to appease the brain goblins about this.] Adaptability. Cool rating. Really beautiful designs.
Also because Shadows and Assassins have stealth and I am, again, a pretty, pretty stealth princess. Bonus objectives for slaughtering rows and rows of enemies? Don’t know her.
43. Favorite operation?
I've yet to actually do operations because I'm a bit of a scaredy-cat. I know, doesn't translate when I've done 8 man extremes with glee in FFXIV, but I have definitely backed off raiding and gearing related grinds since being in college. They can be pretty involved and I just do not always have the spoons left over to get into performance like that.
I've enjoyed it in XIV though, so I'd be down for giving it a whirl sometime, maybe over the summer when I won't have classes. Work and class schedules kinda also limit my time, so it's a bit intimidating to commit to progression schedules within everything.
46. What do you think of the world events so far?
Oscillating between the interpretation of “what in-game events do you like” and “what do you think of the story,” but I think the latter is more fun and has more meat on the bone.
So! First of all, I am absolutely a story gremlin. I absolutely got into SWTOR primarily for the story and whatever it is or isn’t as a MMO is whatever it is or isn’t. That said, I don’t know why I didn’t expect it to grip me and sink into any little porous opening in my being that it could find, but I’ve been playing for over a year now and it has… done that. I think it’s safe to say that it’s taken over as my primary gaming choice by now, lol.
I have my least favorites among the class stories, for sure, but I’d agree with the consensus that, generally, they’re all good. They’re all good at something. Whatever I dislike about them is more-so down to personal tastes and preferences than jarring faults in the story.
And it’s definitely my favorite way to engage with Star Wars. I was never particularly in to Star Wars - I could enjoy it, I could leave it. I have bones to pick with its consistent dedication to binary and that’s a gripe I could agree with even inside of SWTOR. But I do love the way SWTOR engages with the universe - allows me to engage with the universe. Several of the class stories are not what I’d define as the general fare of Star Wars, or there’s ways to play them that inverse, twist, or otherwise do something cool with something that the movies might not have - that wasn’t the story the movies wanted to tell or what have you.
Trying to pin down the timeline hurts my brain. I hate math as a general rule and I dislike trying to riddle out certainties from conflicting or non-existent information when it comes to timelines, lol, but that’s not a uniquely SWTOR problem. xD
Ultimately, I started playing for the story - I’m still here because I’m invested in the story. I’m invested in my characters and the npcs and companions in a way I fell in love with in my first Bioware experiences in Dragon Age and Mass Effect. The dialogue options - particularly those that are voiced - add such. Chef’s kiss, y’know? It’s a whole different way to engage with a game  and really be a part of it when I can reflect a character’s way of thinking inside of a game like that.
Star Wars as a whole has always been a sort of odd relationship for me in that I have plenty of bigger gripes with what it does or how it does overall, but the universe is full of such potential. I still love some of the potential, some of the pieces of it. I am eager to see what comes of the saboteur options that started with Jedi Under Siege - my main being an Imperial Agent that took the SIS route definitely factors into that, lol.
Something about how the story is set up and how it plays has just… really got me. To describe it kind of feels almost diminishing and it’s difficult, but, in short, I guess I’ve loved the way I can engage with it and the way I can return to it. The many, many possibilities packed into just the class stories alone is so much to explore and it’s so, so fun to get into a character’s headspace and really figure out how that affects everything they see and take forward with them into the expansion content. It’s changes and nuance I can reflect as well as expand upon in writing or headcanons or what have you and it’s just… been a whole lot of fun. Whatever does come of it, I think I’ve found another one of those pieces of media, the kind of ocs that’ll stick with me for years to come and that will always be some part of me and what brings me joy to remember.
Anyway: my favorite of the in-game events that I’ve done so far is Bounty Contracts Week. I have fun with the intro and it’s a nice simple daily rotation.

8, 10, 22 and 30 for the FFXIV Ask Meme, please! For 30 I'm wondering what things you would like to see in Endwalker, since I know you've still to experience that one.
Thanks for asking!
8. Favorite BGM/vocal track?
I have so many favorites so I won't talk about a single track fdhjklsds. Shadowbringers is special for me because I remember watching the expansion trailer so many times and how I screamed when it started playing during THAT scene.
Paglth'an Theme hits so hard even though I accidentally spoiled myself about a future dungeon while searching for more tracks.
Gangos Theme is also very unique compared to other background tracks and I loved it when it started after I arrived there.
I also love and constantly listen to Rabanastre Final Boss Theme and Sands of Amber (Amh Araeng Theme)
10. Favorite dungeon?
It was hard to choose but I think it is The Heroes' Gauntlet lmao. I really loved how all those people, faeries, and your role quest friends appeared to help you during the duty.
I also love The Vault because the atmosphere and music are amazing.
22. You obtain one in-game item to use/wear IRL, what do you pick and why?
I would love to have a G'raha minion lmao. Except that I think it is Deima or Edenmete Fending Set.
30. What do you hope for in the next expansion?
I know probably their story is concluded but I would LOVE to see Dalmasca and other countries on the Ilsabard Continent. I read about their lore after the Ivalice Raids and seeing those countries as proper regions that we can travel to would be amazing.
Also, it would be so cool if we find a way to travel to the Thirteenth because after what Unukalhai told us I am also curious about that place. Like, we saw a world consumed by light already. It would be interesting to see a world consumed by darkness.
And please Leofard for MSQ

8, 17, and 22 for the FFXIV asks, please!
Thank you! <3 Asks here.
8. Favourite BGM/vocal track?
And so you have chosen violence. You likely don't know this, but I am somewhat unhinged when it comes to soundtrack music. Doubly so when it comes to FFXIV's incredible soundtrack. Anyone that's had the misfortune of playing the game with me can attest that I am constantly going "ooooooh I love this track!" "omg this one's one of my favourites!" "this music though!" etc etc. I have a playlist of FFXIV music on spotify that's only my favourites and it is 15hrs long. And that's not even including the Death Unto Dawn or Endwalker soundtracks because they're not on spotify yet. And you ask me to pick a single favourite???
dfghdgfdhjfha
Answers, Serenity, Fealty, Footsteps in the Snow, Solid, Night in the Brume, Nobility Obliges, Nobility Sleeps (yes that is all the Ishgard tracks what about it), Against the Wind, Stone and Steel, Revenge of the Horde, The Dark Which Illuminates the World, Sands of Amber, Insanity, Neath Dark Waters, Mortal Instants, One Small Step, Endcaller, Dynamis, Echoes in the Distance, Close in the Distance...
I tried.
17. Favourite minion?
The Starbird. It's an extremely rare drop from the last dungeon of Endwalker and I got it on my first run. Which I was doing with Trust npcs, meaning that it went straight into my pocket without even needing to roll for it. I've done that dungeon so many times now and I've never once seen it drop again for anyone. Absolute insane luck, and it genuinely felt like the game was deliberately giving me this special gift to make up for all the emotional damage it caused me that expansion. The themes surrounding what the minion represents are also very very very relevant to my own personal struggles in recent years, so I honestly can't overstate how much this little buddy means to me.
22. You obtain one in-game item to use/wear IRL, what do you pick and why?
I would love to have an astrologian's planisphere in real life. Even if I couldn't make it go all floaty sparkly, just having such an intricate and pretty thing would be so cool.

i'm playing ffxiv and doing some sidequests and i'm fucking around with the whacky fish tribe and usually sidequests are dumb but I go and talk to the main fish and he has two dialogue boxes and the second one is "Find this man. Tell him this. 'I have your daughter.'" and the fucking quest intro ends and the title of the quest is amber alert and I started laughing so hard like what in the fuck did my guy get into with this fucked up fish

Had an idea for a FFXIV x Rejuv crossover AU...
Well, it’s more like they’re irl MMORPG players, but the story is mostly presented through the eyes of their in-game characters/avatars. I’m not entirely sure how to go about this, but I’m gonna give it my best shot and try to guess which class/race each character would play as that’s in line with their personalities.
I’ll start with my own OCs, since I know them the best lol.
Both Orion and Hauyne would play an Au Ra character, which are basically humans with some draconic/reptilian traits, to reflect their original verse’s status as “dragons”. Orion would be a Xaela (black scales) and mains a Samurai, while Hauyne would be a Raen (white scales) and mains either Dragoon, Paladin or Reaper depending on her mood.
I think Ren would probably play as a miqo’te (idk why but him being a catboy suits him XD), specifically a Keeper of the Moon (large, rounder pupils and fangs). He’ll probably start out as a Warrior, but switches over to Dark Knight and eventually settles for Gunbreaker for the late-game content.
Melia would play as a Midlander Hyur, which is pretty much regular run-of-the-mill humans. She’ll play a Healer class, particularly the White Mage job.
As for Venam... actually, I’m not too sure which FFXIV race she’ll play as. Maybe a Plainsfolk Lalafell (the game’s version of dwarves), as a joke? I would also say that male Viera is a good contender, but I’m not entirely sure if she’ll go for a “cutesy” or “effeminate” looking avatar. But she’ll definitely enjoy maining a Ninja character.
Aelita is really easy lol. She’ll go for a Wildwood Elezen (pretty much FFXIV’s version of elves) character, and will be maining a Monk. She did dabble in the Red Mage job for a bit, but it just didn’t click with her so she went back to her old job and hasn’t changed it since.
Saki is a no-brainer: Dunesfolk Lalafell and Machinist job main. Chaos incarnate, this one.
Adam would probably play a Hellsguard Roegadyn (aka the game’s giants) or a Highlander Hyur character. I’m not too sure which job he’ll main as, but I’ll hazard a guess and say it’s Warrior.
Valarie is a bit of a tough choice... another Wildwood Elezen, maybe? For her class, she’s most likely maining a mage job. My bet is on Summoner, though. Maybe a Dancer, too?
For Ryland, it’s gonna be of an inside joke but I get the feeling he’ll play as a male Viera. And I don’t know why, but he mains a Bard and probably also likes to roleplay as the “lone wolf” character in-game.
Erin is quite easy too, lol. She’s definitely a Keeper of the Moon miqo’te, and mains a Black Mage if not a Reaper.
Huey... hm. Tough choice, but I think he plays as an Au Ra character as well. Probably a Black Mage main too.
Reina, like her brother, plays a Keeper of the Moon miqo’te character. She’s most likely a Summoner, but I can also see her as a Red Mage.
Amber is most likely another Au Ra player lmao. She definitely has Red Mage vibes.
For Lavender... a Midlander Hyur or a Wildwood Elezen? She just can’t decide, so she’s constantly switching between the two races lol. Also a Sage or a Scholar main, since she’s quite bookish.
As for Kanon... he probably won’t go for something very outlandish so a Midlander Hyur character for him. Possibly a Scholar or Summoner main? Hard to tell. I just know he’ll play a mage class.
Alexandra would play as a Xaela? I think. She’s definitely a Summoner for sure.
Damien’s character is also a Xaela, but he mains a Dragoon with the meanest looking glamour you could come up with using the pieces available in-game. Very intimidating and off-putting, but is surprisingly a nice person once you get to know him better.
