As someone who grew up barely protestant, the only consistent church service I went to was Christmas and the nativity play at my junior school until I went to a secular high school and also as someone that unironically likes the glee version of some songs and had like a 5 month long high school musical kick recently, just generally likes musicals:

Journey to Bethlehem is actually so entertaining and they did not have to go so hard with the songs. I could immediately tell it was a modern retelling not intending on being accurate (biblically or historically) and that's fine. It's a movie with Milo Manheim and a donkey named Fig as a repccuring character, it's meant to be campy and for shits and giggles.

#also those getting mad that the songs are studio recorded and lipsynced #i dont understand #to my knowledge thats how most tv and film musicals are made #because it would he hard to do it live and sound constistent through the varied shots and dance takes #everyone talking about good to be king and yes its an amazing villain song #but in my blood is so good as well i dont know it just scratches my brain right #tho the ultimate deception is my favourite #journey to bethlehem #milo manheim #fiona palomo #antonio banderas #is fantastic as king herod #its genuinly just a fun time #break from qsmp stuff to enjoy a good old fashioned movie

sappy post time. this production happened because my wonderful partner Scout ( @noodlescout ) and i had this insane idea at like 3am to do Ride the Cyclone. and then we were like wait. what if we actually do Ride the Cyclone. and we did!!!! we fucking did it!!!!! i’m so so honored to have been part of this and i’m so grateful that we were able to tell this beautiful story. i love making art, especially with people i love and oh boy. was this cast a bunch of FREAKING ROCKSTARS!!! i’m also gonna post a little fun facts about our production thing but until then i will leave you with these!! thanks for coming along friends!!!

LIKEDKJDKD i didnt wanna be the one to say it bc motheress but... YEAH idk what it is about them its so weird? like not only the weird mixing, in the songs that require anger or extreme bubbliness (like 22 on red tv) she sounds bored and that shes trying (and failing) to capture the energy of the original which like, okay real. she rlly said im 30 and went to therapy this shit does Not hit the same.

out of the re-records we got rn its def the worse GUHDJD but i was kinda anticipating this bc it seems like shes kinda progressed past pop punk, like when she does make pop now its either v bubblegum pop or synth pop, so im not too worried about how rep is gonna sound, its still very much in her current wheelhouse

Too late in the night to finish my essay about why I fucking hate the One Piece Live Action show despite the first six episodes out of eight being some of the best television I've ever seen, too early to burn any buildings to the ground so fuck me I guess
