My head went up as soon as I heard that Gugu Mbathu Raw was on The One Show! Sounds like she's got a lot more to do than in Loki, I'm so happy because her presence was missed in Loki S2. I have got to watch her new show Lift, it sounds fun. (Also reinvigorated my desire to watch a Rafael Casal project, because he was also another amazing talent wasted. No doubt about it, I'm going to be watching shows that Sophia Di Martino's been in too!!!)

Fun fact: Gugu Mbatha-Raw was in Beauty and the Beast live action! I've had her in my mind since then because of her name

(I probably spelt most of the names wrong, too lazy to check though and that's not my point 😂)

I have a list of TV shows and movies to watch as long as both my arms...

Side note, Gugu looked fucking FABULOUS! The outfit istg. She's a queen

I am surprised by the lack of chemistry I see in Alana and Hannibal. These are two extremely hot characters but I feel nothing looking at their relationship. You can clearly see that Hannibal is not interested in her and that Alana is just jumping in the relationship because Hannibal is "a perfect man". It's a total difference between the way both of them react to Will.

I’ve started watching LBC and went to go check out some scenes of why r u just for comparison since I know Saint plays a way different character on there and like, wow, is it really the same actor?

Plus recently I also found out that Shin in Minato’s laundromat is apparently the student council guy in my love mix up….

I’m personally pretty bad with faces and names but tl;dr: were there any actors that you had a LOT of trouble recognizing in a different role/show? I feel like this prob would happen more often in j BLs than other countries for various reasons

Isn't he amazing? I can't even with Saint. I'm so sad we lost him (from BL leading roles).

I think I knew that but didn’t really register about Nishigaki Sho (Shin). Maybe I’ll go rewatch MLMU to see if I can spot him. If it’s a side character or a walk on, I’m not too shocked I missed it.

I am actually pretty good with faces, in the “oh I have seen that actor before” kinda way. It’s names I struggle with. (When IMDB came along, it was a godsend.)

Were there any actors that you had a LOT of trouble recognizing in a different role/show?

And when watching My Love Mix-Up I did not register AT ALL that he was the same actor as Uenoyama Ritsuka (the lead!) in Given. It’s really rare for that to happen to me.

MDL told me who he was because I looked him up during MLMU because I liked him so much as Aida Hayato and I was like...

No? NO!

NOOO!

Seriously, how can that be the same person?

He is bonkers good. Like Saint he changes his physicality, but he ALSO changes the nuances of his facial expressions AND resting face (that’s SO HARD to do). It takes a hell of a lot to fool me like that, especially in two shows that released relatively close together in two major roles.

If it’s just a walk on or a bit part, I forgive myself. But Suzuki Jin was the lead and then the main side bestie! Yet to this day, I’m still occasionally like... that’s THE SAME actor? He even looks taller in Given. It’s crazy making. Mad props to the boy.

Wakanda Forever had me wanting to ball so hard, you might or might not have any idea. The movie was definitely reflecting some of the things that happened in my life and the feelings that came with it whether they were logical or rational or not. I understood Shuri a little bit while she was going through her transformation.

I also felt so connected to the actors and their characters that even I wanted to join Shuri in her retribution because I too was pissed it was like a punch to the heart twice.

it's SO funny that when asked what he had to do to prepare for his role in IWTV Sam Reid says he had to learn how to play the piano, learn to speak French, Italian, and English with a French accent. Bailey read IWTV religiously and added her own comments, and kept an actual fucking journal she wrote entirely as Claudia. meanwhile Jacob Anderson, when asked the same question, just responds with “oh nothing, i was already emo”. icons and legends only
