Remember when the Audrey villain leaks came out and then we saw the offical c4 and s3 outfit reveals and saw the c4 on the isle and the s3 in an auradon forest and we all thought there had been some sort of time spell where Audrey twisted time and instead of the c4 coming to Auradon it was the s3 so Audrey stayed with Ben and there was a whole adventue to fix the timeline? no? just me? okay

I've been wondering about something about Wally's "Warlock staff"....

What the heck is that? A crystal of some kind?? (I've been wondering for so long with the project I'm working on)

that would be a crystal - and a conduit for Home's power! Wally uses it to channel and utilize the magic Home gives him. technically he can cast without it, but casting without a "lightning rod" makes the magic undiluted when used - which is rarely a good thing when your power comes from a demon!

#to the Neighborhood's knowledge wally cannot cast without it #and well. in a way he can't #but the crystal is a nice cap on home's deep well of dark magic #and it lends to wally's wizard facade! makes it more Convincing! #but yeah casting without it also takes a lot more energy and is difficult to do overall #so it's reaalllly unsustainable to just - for a lack of better term - rawdog it #also unfortunately in creating the crystal for wally #home had to tie its magic to it #so if the crystal breaks that would Seriously weaken home and hurt him #its still better than no conduit at all! #and wally takes very good care of the crystal #the staff rarely strays far from his side #rambles from the bog #wh fantasy au #so home has two ties to the mortal realm #wally's choker & the crystal #if both the choker and crystal are destroyed #depending on several factors home will either be Killed or just banished back to their own realm #until it can rebuild his power - which can take thousands of years to get to a point where home can reconnect with the mortal plane #wally and home's situation is very precarious! they need to protect each other or they'll both be Royally Fucked #tldr: home's magic channels through the crystal so that wally can cast spells safely #ALSO YIPPEE CANT WAIT TO SEE MORE OF YOUR PROJECT I HAVENT CHECKED IN IN A HOT SECOND ILL GO DO THAT NOW

Some stuff about them:

His name is Stire with they/he/xe pronouns, gender really isn’t a concept they grasp well.

They’re around 18 years old with baby face so people sometimes think they’re as old as the first/second years.

Headcannon Yuu with actual magic back in their realm, but as they’re soul isn’t compatible they can’t use any of it, only keeping some moderate strength and their glowy under hair.

Stire is inspired by the ferryman, the belief that a hooded figure(usually a skeleton of sorts) will take you to your afterlife on a small boat over the River of nyx in exchange for 2-3 coins over your eyes and/or tongue. They worked pretty closely with ghosts and souls so they’re right at home at ramshackle.

They are very quiet and have a very ghostly vibe to them, often scaring people if they don’t announce themselves when they enter a room. Ze once scared the aduece duo so bad through a reflection duece gave them a black eye

ADORES grim, but they don’t gush a lot. Very matter a fact and takes grim very seriously and gets very excited when he does something new.

Autistic, struggles greatly with facial expression and vocal tone(same.) very oblivious to underlying meaning of words and take things matter of factly. Can’t tell when xey are being used until someone tells him he is. Ruggie takes their food a lot…

Likes architecture and gloomy things, so Ramshackle, Diasomnia and Ignihyde are their preferred place of resident as it’s usually dark, cold, and quiet-ish. Very sensitive to stimulation so they like cave like environments that they’re used to. They despise Scarabia because it’s so HOT and BRIGHT.

Their eyes are sensitive to light, with very pale almost grey irises so xey usually hide them under bangs or sunglasses.

Cold all the time, so frigid hands, giant sweaters, warm drinks are a must.

help, now that i have stopped tearing up at every mention of the series, the young royals forever documentary and the bts videos have brought my past obsession with film-making back-

I don't think Lark being Normal's dad really ... does anything. Like he would just be his biological father if that was true? Sparrow raised Normal, Normal sees Sparrow as his dad and if the Magic was biological it would mean Scary, Terry, and Linc wouldn't have any access to Daddy Magic. And like I also like the idea that what if Lark not having any kids was a conscious choice? Like "well I fucked the world, I can't make someone else exist in it" so he never has or adopts children but he's still heavily involved in raising both Hero and Normal because he loves them without them being his children. It feels like a Lark is Normal's father twist would just make their relationship messy without actually adding anything interesting to the narrative that can't be accomplished with the current dynamic.

followup to the casting speed thing for lesser beast: each magic stat (Knowledge/Wisdom/Piety/Cunning/Vitriol) gets its own auxiliary effect that scales with your investment in that stat

Knowledge lets you chain-cast quicker, Wisdom reduces stamina cost for spells + reduces the delay before Mana Fatigue starts decaying, Piety provides an Endurance bonus during spellcasting, Cunning lets you chain into opposite-hand actions faster, and Vitriol does uh. something i haven't figured out yet. maybe it's the odd one out and instead of affecting spells directly it gives you a % chance to roll item drop tables a second time, to make farming for ingredients more efficient

catalysts can still affect this stuff too though so you could find a Void-aligned catalyst that buffs chain cast speed or a Magma catalyst that lets you do offhand stuff faster

#lesser beast #offhand stuff is what they call jacking off left handed i think #also these specific effects will make a little more sense when i can demonstrate the intended gameplay niches for each school #chain casting as a knowledge thing makes sense for how Mind and Ice magic works on a fundamental level

Not to make another very specific petty rant that is only based off of random interactions I had months ago and my mind suddenly reminded me of but I remembered one time someone said mecha is a more male centric genre in context of me criticizing how some shows portray females and I fear for how many people agree on that when it’s STUPID. Yes, it’s very much action heavy, it might as well be a shonen demographic, but also ignoring how females can enjoy action bc that element is not gender specific: Most mecha’s DON’T HAVE GENDERS so they can be piloted by anyone regardless of gender. There is nothing wrong with people wanting good female rep in mecha’s especially if they identify as a woman because this genre shouldn’t be bound to one gender. Literally let more woman pilot the robot or at LEAST be very strong supporting characters.
