#also like can all mlm blogs actually tag their posts as 'mlm only' because that can stop accidental interaction if the tags blocked

I sent that ask about the Ronance/Steddie parallels in good faith bc I actually ship both. But now met with such incredible hostility on the topic, I'm curious. Why would you prefer heaps of character deaths over a Steddie endgame? What about it is so off-putting that you'd rather see good characters die? It can't be just the fact that it's an mlm ship, or at least I hope that's not your reasoning. So what about it angers you so?
(you might call me a bitch for answering truthfully, but I'm just going to be real. And you might call me a bitch for preferring a full on all character death than st*ddie but yea, maybe so what. Some things just need to be fanon. I can be cool with st*ddie shippers as I am actually cool with some of them. But you're on anon trying to put me on trial because I don't ship them? Like get over it... truthfully. )
Anyway, you shipping both does not mean I ship both, so using the reasoning of "in good faith" is subjective. (And this got long winded...so sorry I guess?)
As a ronance blogger and enjoyer who is tired of st*ddie infiltrating our tags and little nooks of fandom, what you think is in good faith was actually not.(I didn't receive it well so you play it off like it was in good faith-also is the eneregy that is being given).
I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and say you're new here to my blog and that's fine. That's okay.
But the ruse of it being in good faith reads almost satirical...if only. I'm talking about and was talking about Ronance in my posts so why would you bring up st*ddie anyways to me unprovoked?
I do not ship both I do not have to ship both.(also trying to pull the reverse card on the *just because it's mlm* is not a thing. Mlm media and ships are received so well, and when yall find someone who doesn't like or care for a ship yall expect a whole analysis and thesis why. Well no its not simply because it's mlm-but if it was why couldn't it be? Genuinely? Why do people expect sapphic women to consume mlm content that doesn't relate to them or tell their story but don't put the same energy for gay men?)
it's because st*ddie has been shoveled down my throat too much. Infiltrated every part of st fandom because people don't know how to tag things, don't know how to separate keep it within its own bubble.
Not all, but alot of the fandom are women hating; specifically Nancy and Chrissy hating. And if you believe fandom doesn't influence the way you view media/ships/or anything in general that would be deluded to say. Fan base definitely has a hand in how people receive things at a certain point.
Also as much as I hate this statement it's true here, i saw absolutely nothing between St*ve and E*die interactions beyond two people on forced proximity interacting. So no its not simply because it's mlm. It's because the pair did nothing for me. And didn't give me an *oh* moment.
You shipping both doesn't make you mightier then me just like me shipping only ronance doesn't make me better than you. I'm not sitting here asking you why you ship st*ddie so why must people who only ship Ronance always qualify themselves??

About Me
You've got the basic rundown from my sidebar but what else could there be? So much more obviously lol. This is really long so read at your own risk. I’m only posting this to pin it :P
Anyways I'm a queer transmasculine guy who's gender is best describe as la croix boy, sparkling guy, or guy-adjacent. I present masculinely in public as well as obviously queer. I’m also mlm/nblm meaning I’m gay and I like dudes.
I am not subtle about being queer at all in any shape or form, nor do I censor or tag it or any other slurs. Being queer is an essential part of my identity, one you can not remove without erasing a part of me. The intersection between my gender and sexuality is complex and I don’t really care for microlabels for myself.
Besides that I have hobbies! Too many of them! I crochet just about anything I’ve done 10in amogus’s, shawls (I love making shawls even though they’re not my style), and useful things like pot holders and wash cloths! I’m also getting into cross stitch. I draw as well as keep bugs. I forget to tag things alot but I usually tag “bugs” “spider” “arachnid” etc. I’m awkward so I don’t post much myself but I reblog stuff about transmascs, the queer community, bugs, and whatever I find funny. This is my old blog from like 2014-2018 that I’m reusing out of laziness so if you’re trying to dig up dirt on me please check post dates lmfao. I am much different now than I was when I was 14-18.
Some of my views: - I (and bigots) don’t give a fuck about slur discourse in respect to the queer community. I’m not gonna censor them, especially if it’s in regards to a persons identity. For example I’m not gonna say “The D*ke March” or the “D-slur March” because I respect them and their right to reclaim and identify themselves. If you ask me to tag tranny, faggot, dyke, etc. you’re better off blocking me/those words and moving on. If you ask me to tag queer, you’re the one catching a block.
- Trans people can not oppress each other on the basis of being trans, but they can hurt eachother personally. A transmasc can perpetuate transmisogyny but trans guys do not oppress trans women/vice versa. - Anti-transmasculinity exists. Actually I’ll go a step further, misandry does exist and mainly manifests against oppressed groups though it is also spread by radfem groups. - Radfems catch a block, I don’t care if you are “trans friendly”, radical feminism is inherently transphobic. Men and Masculinity are not inherently evil, disgusting, or violent and can exist in non-toxic ways. Alongside that, femininity can be toxic and weaponized, such as radical feminism and false rape accusations.
- I don’t want to get into shipping discourse but I lean more pro-ship. I believe censorship demonstrably and inevitably leads to the silencing of minority communities. Tumblr is ironically a good example of this seeing as the porn ban also lead to trans women being labelled “nsfw” for simply existing.

Okay I'm not going through the tag anymore because I keep making myself mad when I'm just trying to find fun things
Vent under cut (Spto spoilers and general queer discourse shit)
"Wallace didn't carry the show y'all just hate women"
What about y'all just love men??? Like Wallace was fucking GREAT in spto and literally does keep taking over situations on purpose
I wouldn't say he carries the show but if you're into dudes and especially if you're mlm it is extremely easy to focus on whatever shenanigans he's up to instead of the main plot
Which is fine!
Focusing on a gay man more than women in a cartoon is fine!
Like I get Ramona is the main character of this show and there are some other great women characters and friendships but just because people prefer Wallace over them doesn't mean they hate women
I blocked that person I'm just
God I do need that social media break
I'm literally feeling so paranoid whenever I look at any queer content like oh no people are going to talk shit about trans mascs or mlm or afab nb people or something and while I feel justified hating this post in particular, there are some I am *not* justified in feeling so stressed over, like people hc'ing Ramona and Scott as trans fem instead of trans masc or getting too annoyed at people insisting Roxie/Kim is canon somehow even though they are explicitly not into each other in canon
I've been trying to follow more transasc and mlm and nblm blogs so I can surround myself with the stuff I want to see but I'm still obviously dealing with idk I guess trauma from being in an environment where I didn't trust my own feelings and experiences as a trans masc into dudes because any problems I had with how we were talking about was transmisogyny and lesbophobia and it took me so long to not only realize the people saying that shit were assholes but also the foundation of everything they were saying was wrong and so many people are still wrapped up in that radfem adjacent bullshit that I just see it *everywhere* now and I'm afraid to get into any new queer spaces or content like every space is just going to be Homestuck Twitter 2019 all over again or I'll find out no I was actually terrible and wrong this whole time!!!
To the point I'm having this long rant because of Scott fucking Pilgrim
Ughhhh

Any advice for new tumblr accounts? I just joined and I have no clue how to grow a following? -shy anon lol
oh boy this isn't something i've really thought about before.
when i first joined tumblr in 2013 i wasn't looking to grow a following, i just knew some artists i liked were on here and i wanted to see what they were posting. it wasn't until years later i started posting my own gifs and art over on my main blog. follower counts aren't public but i don't mind sharing if it helps so on @emptymasks which i've had since 2013 and at times have posted a lot of gifs, art and fisc too and at other times have gone months and months without posting any of that because i don't see tumblr as a social media to like make money off or anything, it's just fun, i have 2988 on my main blog.
this blog dervampireprince has existed since december 2020 but it was a different blog with a different name until march 2021 when it became dervampireprince. so this blog has existed posting 18+ writing since march 2021 and audios since december 2021 and i have 3682 followers over here. never expected this blog to me my post popular but i'm not complaining.
tumblr isn't like other social medias, you can't see other users follower counts, following counts, and recommended and trending posts don't get thrown at you. you mostly only see posts from people you follow. yes there are recommended posts now but if you're an older tumblr user like myself you may use Xkit which is a 3rd party extension for tumblr that adds a bunch of features (blocking posts with certain words in them, mass tag editor/replacer, an outbox, ad blocker, use tumblr using older themes and layouts, etc) so some people don't get any recommended posts.
there's only one way to get your posts noticed by people on tumblr and that's using tags correctly, and relying on people who check their favourite tags to notice your posts. now a lot of people must not be like me, because i don't check tags for things very often, but clearly a lot of people do or my posts would have no notes. what tags you use though is going to depend on what type of post you're making. you can use up to 20 tags. tumblr will let you type more than 20, but anything above tag 20 won't be searchable, as in if you 21st tag is [marvel], your post will not show up under search results for marvel unless it's tag 20 or lower, not on tumblr general search nor in search results on your own blog.
(sidenote - tumblr's search used to take you to tumblr.com/tagged/[thing you searched for] and years ago they changed it to tumblr.com/search/[thing you searched for]. you can still get to the /tagged page by typing it in the URL bar, /tagged always shows most recent posts first which i prefer and also if you searched for [loki] then /tagged would only show you posts where the word loki is tagged, whereas /search shows you posts that have loki tagged and have the word loki typed in any text in the actual post. which is annoying and you end up with non relevant posts showing up in certain tags)
so for example if i'm writing a nsft writing posts these are the tags i tend to use are: #nsft nsftumblr #nsft concept #nsft fantasy #nsft writing #ftm nsft #mlm nsft #nblm nsft #t4t nsft #trans nsft #trans man nsft #transmasc nsft #lgbt nsft #bi nsft . Now all those tags aren't relevant to every nsft post, some are gender specific, but you can find what other tags exist by just checking the general #nsft and #nsftumblr tags and seeing what other people use as tags when they post.
(and having xkit means i don't have to remember and type these out every time, i just have them saved as a tag bundle and one click and they all go in the tags)
Tumblr media
or for example if i'm making a post on my main blog for a sandman drawing i've down i'd use the tags: the sandman #dream of the endless #sandman #fanart #hob gadling #dreamling #dreamgadling #hob x dream #dream x hob #morpheus #lord morpheus #myart #sandman fanart #the sandman fanart . And then people find it through the fandom and ship tags mostly.
Of course if you already have followers then your followers will see your posts no matter if you use any tags or none, but tags are the only way to get people who aren't following you to see your post, and hope that some of them reblog it so their followers can see (unlike social medias like Twitter, like aren't public here, your followers can't see what posts you like, and even if you set your likes to public they can only see them if they go to a specific page on your blog, your likes don't show up in their dashboard/timeline like they do on Twitter).
This is my oldest original piece of writing on here
Tumblr media
I had somewhere between 1-10 followers at the time and currently it stands at 52 notes. I didn't use many tags, I didn't know about the existence of many tags, but I used the few I knew about and specific kink tags and people noticed it.
And as always it's the posts you spend ages writing that get fewer notes than one silly sentence you post at 2am thinking no one will notice
Tumblr media
Because that still sits at my post popular post on this blog. And despite this blog having much more followers than my main, my post popular post ever is a Loki themed edit I did where I just posted 9 photos from fashion editorials, recoloured them to be green and black and gold, and it got to over 15k notes within a few months and none of my posts here are close to getting that many. Follower count doesn't reflect how popular a post can get.
Basically tags are your best friend on this site, use them wisely, don't use more than 20. It doesn't hurt to follow and interact with other blogs who are posting similar content to you, your followers are going to see any posts you reblog as well as your original posts. I've never approached another blog trying to be mutuals or friends before, if I end up getting to know anyone it just sorta happens from us seeing each others names a lot in our notes and sending asks to each other. Like with with aspiring-house-husband for example, I never sent them a message saying 'can we be friends' because that's kinda creepy, I just was reblogging a lot of their writing, chose to engage by sending them some rp asks, complimenting their writing, and then i realised they'd reblogged from me, small world, and speaking of Fawn, in less than a year they got almost 7k followers which is insane and goes to show how talented at writing they are. If you're really only doing it for the followers then finding a niche can help, if you're wanting to write nsft stuff you could focus around certain kinks or creatures or something. I ended up focusing around royalty kink stuff, and I hadn't even heart of it until a couple months into making this blog so.
I hope some of that was helpful? My goal with my main tumblr was just to be able to see art other people posted, making this tumblr yes I did hope for people to reblog my writing and I liked the idea of being a nsft blog people followed, but I didn't have any plans that I would make audios and end up making income off this stuff, it just happened that by the time I wanted to make audios I was lucky that 1. people were already following me and 2. I was making them for a new fandom that was really popular at the time (Arcane).
Yeah that was long, hope it helped, I don't know what sort of content you want to make and tumblr isn't like other socials, there's no 'tumblr influencers' and you can't get sponsored or monetized posts or get payed to host ads on your blog or anything like that so I can only tell you so much.
EDIT: I remembered something else! There are some blogs called source blogs, these blogs are normally centered around a fandom, character, actor, ship, etc. For example marvelgifs is a blog that reblogs Marvel gifs. These blogs will check posts tagged with their username, not @ ing them in the post, but putting their username as one of your tags etc #marvelgifs . You can tag source blogs as a way to help get your posts potentially reblogged. Most of these blogs only post and reblog gifs and edits but some do also reblog fanart, fics and other content for example I also run a blog @europeanmusicals where I reblog and post all content about European musicals that I can find including fanart and writings, and I check the #europeanmusicals tag to see if there's posts people want me to notice to them reblog to that blog. I was able to set up that blog as I'd already been posting about European musicals on my main emptymasks blog for a year or two at that point and surrounded myself with others who like that content.

Any thoughts about why the 911 fandom has shockingly (at least to me) high levels of multishipping/willingness to drop Buddie as soon as new female love interests enter the picture? It's unlike any other fandom that I've participated in, truly. I'm not like...outrageously pissed because I recognize that this is a fictional show and I have real-life issues that take priority, lol. Buuut I'm about as pissed as I ever let myself get over fictional shows.
The reaction of so many "Buddie shippers" to Buck and Eddie's new love interests has been like cold water thrown on my face. I've seen people quite literally abandoning ship, even though we know practically nothing about these new characters and haven't even seen them interact with the guys, all because they are conventionally attractive??? I thought that people were joking at first, but now I'm seeing very earnest threads on Twitter and posts here on Tumblr about how these women are so hot and funny and sweet, and they'll make peace with no Buddie because of the "happiness" that these women will bring to Buck and Eddie. Whaaaat. Am I living in La La Land for finding this EXTREMELY strange??? We haven't even seen Natalia with Buck, or Eddie with Marisol, and we got, like, 2 minutes of Eddie with the other lady. Was it unpleasant like Eddie and Ana? No. But was it truly compelling, or moving, or anywhere in the vicinity of a Buck scene? FUCK NO.
At the very least, I wonder why these people are still blogging and tweeting Buddie content, why they still consider themselves Buddie shippers, when they've admitted that they'd be perfectly content to sacrifice years of Buddie potential and development for virtually unknown women. The reality is that heterosexual ships nearly always win out - especially on network TV - and seeing these people align with that against a same-sex ship? It gives me an extremely icky feeling. And if you point out that this is odd, you're suddenly accused of misogyny? Again, whaaaat. I'm having flashbacks to BuckTaylor, when a bunch of people jumped ship but quickly realized that there was NOTHING to work with, and tried to come back to Buddie. Maybe it's the same people doing this now! But God, if it's this annoying before we even meet the women, I can't imagine what it'll be like when they ctually enter the picture. I've already unfollowed 20 people and see that list only growing. Cultivate your experience, sure. But it's kind of sad because I tried to do that in the first place. Anyway, I've been pretty shocked by how quickly some people have turned on Buddie.
First of all, I will say some people are perfectly happy multi-shipping and that's fine! It's absolutely not for me personally with a couple I'm invested in (or for you apparently) but some people are happy going with the flow and there's nothing wrong or bad about it. They can still like Buddie and share Buddie content from a fandom perspective and be interested to see where the actual show is going with different couples. I don't get it, it's not how I engage, but I'm not going to tell other people their way of engaging isn't right, or that they can't share Buddie content at all if they are okay with Buck or Eddie ending up with someone else.
With that said, I completely understand how it can be difficult to see especially against a mlm couple that the show doesn't seem to want to commit to, but also refuses to clearly state it WON'T happen while paralleling them to the other couples instead of the other friendships on the show.
For me, I've been leery of following blogs since my season 2 RNM days which was lot of mass unfollowing, and again when I let my guard down and had followed a bunch of people and then s5 and LD happened. So instead of following a lot of blogs, I prefer to go to the search page in tumblr and just do "911". No hashtag so sometimes I get irrelevant things that were just tagged something like "hello 911? I'd like to report a murder" but it gives me things tagged with all variations of 911, 911 on fox, 911 tv etc, as well as LS content AND the search will not pull posts that have a tag you have blocked! So I have blocked tags for characters/ship I do not like, I have blocked anit-tags for characters/ships I love, and then I can see if someone posts content I enjoy but don't see any content they post that I don't like. I don't need to follow everyone or see everything on my dash because some blogs are multi-fandom for something I don't like, or some blogs post about characters I don't like, but not enough for me to want to block them entirely. And sometimes I don't want to block a blog that posts buddie fics I like, but I DON'T want to see other fics about characters I hate.
Filters are EVERYTHING and I think it's important to know you don't HAVE to follow blogs to see their content, you can just go into the search! You could do "buddie" instead of 911 and get similar results, even more so because it won't be pulling as much generic 911 stuff. I already filtered out the "Natalia" tag AND put it in my filtered post content just because FOR ME, I don't want it in the search, AND for people I DO follow, when that filtered post comes up on my dash I want to see which blog is posting about it and what my personal emotional state is in before I choose if I want to see the post or not. I'll probably remove the filter at some point, we literally know nothing about the character, but right now I'm not in a place I want to see it. 🤷🏻‍♀️ And that's okay! There is a lot of relief at knowing it's not going to sneak up on me unprepared. That's how I am currently curating my experience in full, not just my dash and I HIGHLY recommend it. Some people won't tag for things which is why the "filtered post content" is great, and I have also started using the "find in page" option on fics so I don't get jumpscared with an untagged character appearance.
So hopefully these options are helpful! It's what works for me, and while I do still block blogs occasionally, I'm also not going to be going to every blog and researching every opinion they've ever had before deciding on reblogging from them. I do often now do a *little* checking before I decide to follow a blog, but that takes spoons so typically I just stick with reblogging from the search and then checking my dash when my brain isn't in hyperfocus on 911 mode.
(so if you've ever followed me and I reblog from you and never followed back, this is why. I'm a little shy about following back after my bad experiences and don't always remember to check out a blog that follows me in order to decide to follow back AND/OR I see your posts in the search all the time so I forget that I don't actually follow you 🤷🏻‍♀️)
I hope you find some peace on your dash nonnie, but don't feel like you have to give up on seeing some good Buddie content from blogs just because they post other stuff you don't want to see. Filter that shit out and enjoy the Buddie stuff! Whether that means unfollowing and just seeing their posts in other reblogs or the search, or being fine with following and just scrolling past the "this post contains filtered content" notifications, whatever works for you! (I personally end up clicking the "see post" option and always end up as the dead dove meme, so unfollowing and just using the search works best for me since I have no self control.)

Introduction & Requests
Greetings! You can call me Tea! This blog is dedicated to male x male/male x nonbinary Obey Me! fanfiction. I write primarily Obey Me! Character x Obey Me! MC, but I do also write ships!
I do NOT support inc*st (demonc*st) or p*dophilia, I do not support pr*shippers whatsoever. This is not a safe space for "Fiction doesn't affect reality" people. Do Not Interact with me or my works.
I DO take requests!
Currently, requests are: CLOSED!
Request Rules:
-Request in ask box ONLY, please!
-I will write for ships, as long as they are legal.
-I will write platonic only fanfiction for everyone.
-I will write NSFW for all characters (excluding Luke).
-I write fanfiction, I do not do scenarios or such very often, if ever. I'm not good at it and I don't enjoy writing it, apologies.
-I will write trans characters. Please include which direction you'd like a character to go (FTM, MTF, etc.) as well as the pronouns you'd like to be used. Apologies, but I'll only use two sets of pronouns per character, for clarity's sake (Ex, he/thon or she/he). I WILL write for neopronouns if requested! (As long as they aren't cultural or offensive.)
-I will NOT write any female MC fanfiction. This is a mlm/nblm dedicated blog. I WILL write for nonbinary MCs if requested.
-Please tag any triggers in your requests at the start. If I'm uncomfortable with the content with the request, I will not write it.
I experience writer's block very often, so fanfiction takes a while to come out. Apologies! I might cross post my fanfiction as well to ao3 under the same name (BarbatosBoyfriend). If you have any questions, feel free to ask!
An actual introduction to me!
My name is actually Beelzebub, but because my name is the same as a character's, I go by Tea! I am an adult, I go by he/him primarily but I also use xe/xem, thon/thons, and sol/sols neopronouns! I do not use any labels aside from aromantic, but I am mlm. I don't use Tumblr very often, and when I do it's usually on my main blog. I'm not very adept at Tumblr, haha. If you have any questions about me, feel free to ask!

Because all queer men are to you are entertainment. Fuck you, fetishizing bitch.
Wow okay. So let’s begin this lil ask by me actually laughing at the absurdity of this????? Like you whoever you are hiding behind the anonymous icon slid into my dms and made a presumption about me and called me a bitch????? What?? Did that ACTUALLY happen?? 😂😂😂
Second. You know I think fair criticism or just conversations about things you might disagree on is a good thing. We learn from talking respectfully to each other. I’d be happy to have a conversation about fetishisation of mlm ships in fandom (also wlw let’s be honest) because I agree this can be an issue but I also think you have to be mindful that fetishisation, is often done, (but not only) by straight women who hyperfixate on mlm which stems from how women’s bodies as well as their sexuality and desire is policed and have been suppressed by patriarchal social structures for a long time, still is too. It doesn’t make fetishisation okay but it gives you a framework to begin untangling and to begin to understand why it happens. Instead try to have a talk about how women (and non binary and queer people) can be given safe and respectful ways to discover their own sexuality while also acknowledging where this stems from. This is a broader conversation for sure and there are so many aspects to consider but I don’t want to get too bogged down with details so moving on.
Ok my third point. I’m assuming you came at me for this post (https://beeexx.tumblr.com/tagged/if%20it%20doesn’t%20happen%20then%20that’s%20definitely%20not%20true%20to%20their%20characters)
I’m on my phone and it is late and it won’t let me add the link so don’t come at me again for this lol. ANYWAY, I will offer an explanation for this as my original post was so misconstrued apparently. I’m not even a big blog in this fandom, like I am inconsistent so no one pays attention to lil me which is why I never get a lot of notifications. Now, I made this post in a little jokey kind of way I will admit that, though I also think this would fit the characterisation of them as characters and where they are now. Last time in season 2 when they were on call where Carlos says “firefighters you really are a smug bunch” “you love it” they were all flirty and comfortable around each other. The trailer sets up next week’s episode as very serious and parts of it might be though I think the baseball game will be fun and lighthearted with a lot of banter for all the characters, both from the police and the firefighters. Now a potential set up for tarlos is just that they jokingly trash talk each other like the rest of the team only to realise that nah being close and kissing is a much better way to spend our time here. Now this is a couple that has been through a lot recently who are stronger now and finally together after months apart. It would make sense that some of that honeymoon period magic would slip back into their daily lives and going without the other’s touch for so long makes them act a little silly around each other. Who knows? 🤷🏻‍♀️
I’m gonna leave it at this now and just say this, it is incredibly rude to attack people on the internet in this aggressive tone. It’s scary too that people think they have the liberty to call people they don’t know a bitch out of the blue in a way that feels aimed to be disrespectful and just to hurt. I hope you have a life outside of this website, I really do because yikes this is pathetic. Anyway I hope you have a good day anyway and think more carefully next time before jumping into someone’s dms writing hateful messages.
Peace✌🏻

From anon: I don’t know how someone can be as intelligent as you behind this blog and still ship Vmin and Namjin.... where j*k*ok is known for being the most realistic Jimin-ship and Namjin is known for being creepy for feminizing Jin to extreme extents. People that ship namjin give me chills honestly. Majority have this twisted fantasy of om*ga Jin x a*pha Joon which is so disgusting.
Thank you, I guess, for this backhanded complement (which I'm saying with the utmost amount of sarcasm, just so we're clear). Quick question though, if namjinists give you chills and you aren’t a vminnie, what are you doing on a blog that is mostly about both?
Tumblr media
While I won't get into why I don't agree with your statement in regard to J*k*ok, and therefore by proxy about vmin, I do very much take offense against what you said about Namjin and namjinists. While yes, there are people who do what you said they do, there is an overwhelming majority of those who don't. Since there is no way for me to check every single account of a namjinist and ask them if they feminize Seokjin or see him as om*ga in their fanfics/fantasies, I can use the power of AO3 as place to get some data to check this argument, since a lot of this is reflected in what people write and how they characterize the members.
More below the cut since this could be a topic/discussion some might not want to read about or even see on their TL:
Since 2013 there are 153k fanfics for BTS across all available languages, out of which 7863 have the al*ha/b*ta/om*ga dynamics tag on them, meaning just about 5% of fics fall into that "genre", which is basically nothing. Because I was curious, I checked both designations for each member and created a table, the result being this:
Tumblr media
Now what do we have here, 45% more results for O for Seokjin than A though that's barely anything when compared to the 70% of O for Jimin, meaning even if Seokjin is seen as O, it's much worse in Jimin's case. And while yes, a majority of those % is due to namjin fics, the majority in Jimin's case is due to J*k*ok ones, so really, who are the bad (feminizing) guys here? Even more so when you consider that there are 2.1k J*k*ok fics in this category (without otp:true) as opposed to 1.6k namjin ones. Also, before someone argues that vminnies are just as bad, there are only 631 fics with that tag for vmin and 1.4k for y*onm*n, which covers the three main Jimin ships.
Then, because I was still curious and I like numbers, I thought I could check the other two much debated tags for comparison purposes:
Tumblr media
As it turns out, these results are not great either, though comparatively far worse when it comes to Jimin, though judging by how certain parts of the fandom (and especially shippers) treat and see him, and portray him as, I can't necessarily say I'm surprised.
Now, what does all of this tell us?
For one I think it showcases a big issue we have when it comes to mlm ships within those writing about Bangtan, but also in general, the fact that in large parts many write mlm not because they are gay themselves, or even queer, but because they enjoy their ship and base their way of writing them on stereotypes and by projecting heteronormative ideas and norms onto them, consciously or not is up for debate. There is a whole discussion to be had about when certain writers portray queer characters/real people respectfully and when it turns into blatant feminization and even fetishization, but I'm neither the right person nor am I equipped or informed enough to be the one to have it. There have been countless others who did a brilliant job of it so if this is a topic that interests you, I'm sure you'll be able to find resources and posts about it with ease.
Now, as someone who is queer myself and likes both vmin and namjin dearly, I think it's uncalled for of you to come into our asks and make such claims about namjinists, especially toward someone who never exhibited any such behavior themselves, as in me. I know a lot of namjinists, I watch the community and read their discussions as best as I can, and I enjoy reading a good fic from time to time. And while yes, there are problematic writers who do what you accuse them of, as well as shippers more generally speaking, such people can be found for every ship, their amount those vastly varies.
I don't ship vmin and namjin based on some kind of fantasy version I have made up in my head of them, nor do I read a/*/o myself since I find the whole genre repulsive, so I don't see how you thought this would be an effective argument for whatever you thought this ask would achieve. I base my ship related thoughts, opinions and analysis entirely on what the members show us, the personalities they have, the things they've said and done, and the music they have written. I don't subscribe to any weird conspiracy theories and I don't subscribe to the idea either that the "smaller" one in a ship plays whatever role as opposed to the "bigger" one, or even the idea that relationships have set roles because that's not true for straight couples so why should it be the case for queer ones?
Anon, you can dislike shippers who go too far, we all do, and while I agree that people who still "force" their weird ideals onto Seokjin while "forcing" stereotypes onto Namjoon simply because he's tall and buff are disgusting and wrong, I'm not one of those people. And neither are most of the people who send in asks or have sent me DMs to talk about namjin. There are other sns where these behaviors are exhibited to unimaginable extents by (mostly) women much too mature to be talking in such manners about young musicians half their age or more, perhaps you should send asks like this to them instead.
At the end of the day, how “real” a ship is has no correlation with how big it is or the way people fantasize, write and talk about them. The only deciding factor are the people that are actually involved in the ship itself, not its shippers and their beliefs. Sometimes it worth it to make up your own opinion instead of following the “popular” one without question, or letting toxic shippers taint your opinion of everyone that likes a certain ship.

Interestingly enough the fandom isn't always rational with their criticism. Take Percy and Rachel for instance. A perfectly healthy cute and functional relationship dynamic, but people really hated it because it got in the way of Percy/Annabeth.
I think it can also come down to the fact that not all situations are exactly equal if that makes sense. If you have a character dynamic in couple A, that often playfully bully of fight with eachother that's a different dynamic than relationship B, where one person has trauma resulting from bullying and the other parter behaves in roughly the same way as couple A do. In that case the behavior may be seen as inappropriate. Not that this example has anything to do with the ships at hand, but I think a long form meta examining the different paralleling issues from both relationships and their validity would be easier.
Also I haven't seen anything about about Nico/Will being called toxic. Yikes, what are people saying exactly, because I don't doubt a lot of people might be projecting unconcious bias.
Oh absolutely, I may seem young but I remember the Rachel vs Annabeth ship wars all too well... I do not want to go back 😅
The rest is under a read more though, I got a little carried away talking! Also this isn't my best post on the issue by far so please feel free to check out the tags I mention later on!
(AN: I use nblm alongside mlm in this post because some nblm individuals will consider their attraction to men as gay, or queer, while others will not and those individuals are often closely connected to mlm experiences and they also deserve to talk about their thoughts and feelings if they wish. I am aware nonbinary people are not a monolith and not all nonbinary people will categorize themselves or their attraction this way, it's up to nonbinary individuals reading this to determine where they fall on what)
As for Solangelo being toxic some of the conversations revolve around the ableist nature of the ship, this is definitely most obviously a dynamic in BoO, and it's a more than fair point about the ship I don't have anything negative to say there in the slightest!
(The above parallels with the idea that Will is introduced as a "healer character" for the "sad gay kid", which is a fair criticism as well but one that's often left rather one sided, because while that is true- if it's a way Nico likes being treated (watched closely for injuries and cared for) then it's not wrong, and in ToN Will is seen overstepping Nico's boundaries which causes a healthy argument about Will doing so and he stops, so if Nico doesn't tell Will "no" or some variation he's obviously not horribly uncomfortable with the situation, or from the way it would be interpreted alongside previous text, there's fair reason to think he likes it)
The thing with Solangelo I see often is "Nico is still processing trauma, and internalized homophobia and isn't ready for a relationship" which is a huge misunderstanding on how trauma and internalized homophobia work as a whole, because the experiences can be different for everyone. You can absolutely date someone while processing internalized homophobia, you may struggle with certain things but it is absolutely doable for some people. And trauma is such a varied thing, and it's not like he's solely relying on Will either, he is seeing Dionysus for therapy and getting the help he needs! Your life doesn't have to go on hold for therapy no matter how much trauma you are sorting through! (Not disclosing my medical history or anything but I have struggled with both things and my life didn't stop for me to deal with them, I made new friends, went on dates, etc- it is possible depending on the person so the very narrow view of "this is unhealthy" and "this is impossible" rubs me wrong when it's treated as fact over opinion, because it's an opinion).
There's also constant discussions about how fandom (in current) fetishizes both Nico and Will, which I, and other mlm and nblm have spoken our own thoughts on multiple times to be largely ignored by the biggest perpetrators of this "they're overly fetishized narrative". There's also fairly consistent discussion of how fandom treats Nico and reduces him to uwu small gay boy, which more often than not seems to mean "effeminate" rather than actually harmful stereotyping (yes queer men are allowed to be "girly" especially considering there is some canon text that could be interpreted with that meaning, if there wasn't a plausible way to determine canon that way I wouldn't care if people were going after others feminizing Nico a bit- but the issue is again, fact and feeling aren't the same and fandom seem to conflate the two rather often).
(Some of that ties into nonbinary Nico head canons which are common as of current, and that argument quickly becomes transphobic is people don't watch themselves... Even without bringing nonbinary Nico into the equation, headcanoning Nico as femme isn't bad or wrong, and to say otherwise becomes gender policing which is bad).
There's also this weird obsession with there being a "correct way" to ship mlm ships (specifically solangelo), which when considering it's not mlm or nblm saying those things, it becomes really uncomfortable. Especially because the wording of some posts is less "hey this is homophobic" and comes off more like people are more upset at seeing an mlm couple than at the fact that they're being shipped poorly.
All of this in combination with the constant, talking over of queer guys (specifically mlm and nblm) comes off really messed up, and yeah homophobic.
It's not something that can be pinned down to one specific thing but rather a series of smaller microagressions (which in sure most of are intended in good faith but are being filled with subconscious bias) that build up over time- which is why my concern is that solangelo is facing harsher criticism/different treatment that percabeth simply for being a queer ship.
I can't be 100% sure on that like I said, because that's something that is hard to gain tangible evidence for, or maybe even impossible :/
If there wasn't so many other small things going on alongside the harsher criticism of solangelo, I would honestly just ignore it... But the weird policing of "how to ship solangelo" while proclaiming it's "overly fetishized" all while speaking over a not insignificant number of mlm and nblm who have agreed with certain opinions, or taken time to write their own (+ some of the rhetoric that can be found on he blogs of people commonly expressing these opinions) is super uncomfortable and definitely homophobic... Even if they were treating the ship kind of weird, but treating the queer guys talking about it well and actually listening (because the current solangelo fandom probably has the highest proportion of queer guys in comparison to any other fandom I've been in with an mlm ship as of right now) I wouldn't be so bothered... But sadly that's not the case..
(I'd also like to note out of my posts criticizing the current conversations happening around the issue my post saying "listen to mlm voices" got a lot more notes than some of the other ones, which I can't say is specifically anything, because like solangelo perhaps being treated unfairly to percabeth, I am willing to acknowledge there might not be an issue- but it's weird how often mlm and nblm's posts on "listen to us" will be uplifted but never any actual criticism... Just a thought)
I detail things a little closer and in more detail in some of my posts tagged #fandom homophobia, #mlm fetishism, and #gender policing in fandom, it's not a full or comprehensive list (I've only really started speaking up in the last month or so), and it is largely solangelo specific. However I am always interested in listening to the voices of other queer guys about the issues and hearing out their thoughts as well (people aren't a monolith and I'm interested in trying to be as nuanced as possible!) and I acknowledge that although I am mlm and am going to be a little better at recognizing issues and calling them out (although I like every person am not perfect of course)
So yeah! That's a bit of the current ongoings, again not a full comprehensive list, and definitely not my best explanation ever but I think the point gets across well enough? Definitely check out my other tags if you're interested in more, there's also definitely more posts I need to make on some of the things I've seen (maybe not all of them so solangelo fandom specific, and maybe some of them even more solangelo fandom specific) but it's rather slow work in progress!

bulk answering some asks under the cut!!
Tumblr media
ah yeah, this is a minor personal pet peeve but i never let it seriously bother me like, i think it’s fine to move onto new cc’s i don’t watch a lot of the cc’s that got me into mcyt all those years ago (cube smp/mcsg era anyone?) but i don’t think that means i’ve developed taste or anything shit happens and you just move on from people/interests it’s natural! yeah it’s kinda asshole-y to imply george is nothing but a gateway creator but if ppl genuinely move on to find new mcyters through him or anyone else on the dteam/dsmp that’s cool :) it does feel like devaluing him as a cc when people are snarky abt it like that but what can you do? if you don’t appreciate what he’s putting out then other ppl do and that’s all that matters, have fun with your new interest
Tumblr media
thank you so much this is the sweetest!! You are so kind <333 i’m comfy i’m comfy :)
Tumblr media
wow this is interesting!! but i have nothing to say i don’t necessarily agree with putting someone’s looks on the highest pedestal either talking abt objectives n stuff (personal taste is a thing) i think being like you’re attractive to me is enough but yeah i really don’t want to be so shallow abt things even talking abt someone’s appearance so candidly like this makes me uncomfortable (i get what you mean though<3) at the end of the day i like george for so much more than his face i always have!! i’ve been around since pre-facecam streams and i think him being cute and really growing into his confidence is an added bonus to all the lovely + funny in my eyes but yeah big vouch for wondering what the hell people think of “average” looking people omg... genuinely squicks me out to label and judge anyone’s appearance it’s just in poor taste to me and i don’t see why it’s permissible with george
Tumblr media
sorry for being a bitch genuinely i’m like crying usually i just complain in private when stuff annoys me honestly i do but this is still my blog and if tagged accordingly (check my blacklist if you wish to avoid all future discourse-y stuff ^^) i can Complain abt people being strange
Tumblr media
ahh no seriously vouch for having had a bad day i’m actually dead tired responding to all of these rn i had an awkward dinner at someone else’s place and a horrible day at work my social battery is so low so yeah same same. we’re in this together!! i think part of the reason i was so snippy and bothered is because the weight of existence has been extra heavy today the thread of comments also threw me off big time because the post itself was kinda eh. i was like whatever this is kinda rude but i’ve seen this song and dance but ppl genuinely ripping into george/george fans and being so assumptive and reductive? jesus it felt bizarre to read, didn’t appreciate it at all it felt very dehumanising
but i relate to all your thoughts and feelings i’m mlm so i am like. genuinely attracted to him (which btw my attraction took a lot to navigate if anyone was wondering) but most of all i just agree that he is really charming to me? that’s the perfect word i think, the way he operates and moves and talks so animatedly it’s just fun to see someone bursting with life and energy, george facecam streams are a treat to see him not only earnestly enjoy himself but play up to the camera and entertain using his full range!! he’s genuinely one of if not my favourite cc for so many reasons, he is consistently entertaining and a joy to watch
and ahhh that’s very sweet thank you thank you if literally anything i post on my silly blog puts a smile on anyone’s faces that means so much to me always <33 happiness and kindness are important to me and i always wanna share in that as much as i can especially in my interests thank you again and i do hope you’re having a better day! :]

that italian?
okay okay okay i think it happened long enough ago that i can dish about the drama. she changed her url and im not including it anyway so its fine.
prepare for a fuckin. essay in responss to a TWO WORD ask but anyay
so once upon time there was an italian who hated children and loved reylo. she also hung out in the arthuriana tag and got a bunch of asks about it. so one day some poor anon comes in and asks if she has any trans headcanons for arthurian characters, and she, instead of being a normal person and saying like, no, she goes off about how trans characters in fanfic is forced representation and she cant talk about trans people bc surgery is triggering for her.
Tumblr media
found this in the archives lol. so i rbd politely explaining that while it was fine to not have trans hcs, her justifications for it were a little offensive.
hey i dont want to start discourse or anything but i see ur asks in the tag a lot and i wanted to politely address this. firstly obviously no one is under any obligation to hc things, and headcanons and fandom is not activism. if you’d just said “no, not really” it would b fine. i mean, cringe of u, but fine. but u make a couple of points here i want to look at a bit critically. then there is “I don’t like when headcanons are pushed up as ~representation, especially when… Ehm, it’s just fandom stuff?” i dont want to misinterpret you or put words in your mouth, but the implication that theres no need for trans rep in fandom and dismissal of that is a very cis take. My initial read of your intention there was a complaint of ‘why should something like fandom spaces, which are for fun and not serious, be filled with non fun serious (bad) trans stuff that i have to see when im trying to enjoy myself.’ now that could be incorrect, you were a bit vague here. if that is what you meant, i think you maybe should examine why you feel that way. if it isnt, im unclear on what exactly youre trying to say here. the idea that trans hcs are performative wokeness and “representation” in fandom is completely ignoring the actual trans people making and wanting them. there is so vanishingly little representation of trans people in actual media and even less thats good, and i think implying trans hcs are being pushed on people and fandom for, ~representation (a world of meaning in the ~ i shant speculate on) is very dismissive and ignorant of that fact. honestly the main thing im troubled by is the idea that trans bodies are inherently disgusting and triggering, which is an incredibly harmful and hurtful idea, and since you yourself acknowledge that trans people and hcs dont predicate surgery i question why you bring it up, except as a justification for disconfort rooted in unexamined prejudice. im not accusing you of being a terf or anything, i dont believe you meant harm by this or have bad intentions, and im definitely not saying anyone has to hc anything. it was the uncomfronted insidiousness of your justification that concerned me. this is not a personal attack at all, you just have a lot of influence in this fandom space and i wanted to make you aware of some of the surely accidentally harmful things ur saying.
so she flips out and rbs that yelling at me and cursing me out in italian (she moved blogs so i dont have her whole response just bits)
basically she completely derailed the original topic and accused me of calling her a horrible person for her triggers? which i never did and would never do, and then tried to make it a wierd anti v proshipper thing
third: I never said there’s no need of trans hcs in fandoms, BUT I’ve noticed that there’s a tendency of condemning people on the basis of what they ship / the dynamics they write. ( like the infinite discourse about how ‘I ship only mlm enemies to lovers because f/m enemies to lovers are Inherently Bad and Abusive - something I personally heard on Twitter sigh ), so I feel the need to say it. blame the current fandom climate.
and were like wow, this lady is unhinged, so we look around her blog and find a. a lot of stuff like saying its racist to not like incest?? and that italians arent white?? also shes a swerf?? and kind of deniel italian colonialsm? and reblogs from a bunch of out and out terfs} there was more but this isnt a callout post lol.
valentine lanzelet made a post about this crazy italian we found and she flipped out on him (this is one of several cursey italian tag rants)
Tumblr media
roughly means: GO SHIT YOURSELF (italian alternative to go fuck you), RACIST TERF IS YOUR GRANDMOTHER IN A WHEELBARROW (italian saying which does not translate well) AND WHAT HAS ITALIAN COLONIALISM TO DO WITH THIS YOU UGLY SHIT, and anyways lancelot sucks
(translated by claudio beheaded)
Tumblr media
anyway so then. and this is when it gets unhinged. she goes on this server me and a lot of my mutuals n friends r in, camelot, and starts complaining about me.
Tumblr media
(in red is the server admin, who was lovely) i asked her to move this convo to dms if she must bc it was rude to bring drama into the server, and she refused, and started insisting that she was being bullied and just wanted to be left alone, so i was like okay lets all block each other and move on, and she refused, continuing to defend everything she was being criticized for
Tumblr media
they also said claudio was making them look bad by translating their rants which like... queen if that made them look bad they were already a bad look.
so she keeps pinging people and replying to shit despite everyone else at this point begging her to just drop it and call it a stalemate
Tumblr media
imagine this but around n around for like an hour. also she repeatedly got me and valentine confused it was super funny. also she claimed it was an invasion of her privacy for valentine to go on her public blog and look at the things she openly said and rbd there
so the server got put in slow mode and she KEPT GOING even though everyone was just begging her to stop and not even responding
Tumblr media
as u can see, around this point we just started spamming her with emoji reactions. she announced she was leaving then went back to arguing a full three times before finally dipping from the server
Tumblr media
then she continued complaining about us and calling us puriteens in her tags (trying to make it a proshipper v anti thing i guess lol?)
Tumblr media
for literally months before finally remaking. also in that time she got in an argument about how the crusades were fine actually. italianphobia works hard but she works harder i guess
anyway i prolly left out a lot but thats the italian saga

Can you keep your anti-Buddie whining on the main tag instead of putting it in the Buddie tag? I get that it upsets you that there are more Buddie fans than there aren't and that people like mlm ships better than wlw ships. That's just the way it is, unfortunately, and all you're doing by putting it in the Buddie tag is ruining other people's fandom experience and annoying people.
oh man there is so much to unpack here
I can only think of one post that could be considered “anti-Buddie” and that’s this one, which I tagged as buddie bc it’s my blog, and I like my posts to be tagged in a relevant way. as for the others here and here, they’re about the amount of rep in the 911/LS fandoms, and are Not a criticism of Buddie. if you see someone talking about how a certain demographic is underrepresented in fandom and automatically assume that’s an attack on your ship, then that’s a problem that you have to deal with yourself I’m afraid
wanting more rep for wlw =/= wanting less/none for Buddie, and if that’s all you got from my posts then you really missed the point, and should probably go back and read them again
and yes it does upset me that people don’t have the same enthusiasm for wlw content as they do for mlm - I don’t feel like one should be loved more than the other because that won’t solve anything, but I do think people should start analysing why they find m/m fics so much better than f/f fics. if you claim to like LGBT characters, but only consume content with two conventionally attractive gay men then I’m sorry but you’re actually just fetishizing gay men and their relationships
also “that’s just the way it is” is one of the worst things people say in regards to bad situations. it doesn’t have to be this way!! it is possible for things to change, and that’s why I’ve been making these posts! most people aren’t even aware of the problem, which means it won’t change. but by bringing light to the situation, it allows people to reassess their biases, and focus on making a difference (I’m aware this isn’t the biggest social justice issue right now by far, but it’s still something that needs to be talked about in fandom spaces)
and as for “ruining other people's fandom experience and annoying people”...
how do you think it feels being a lesbian in fandom spaces who never sees themselves represented? because that’s kind of ruining mine (and others’) fandom experiences
if your fandom experience is ruined by lesbians talking about the discrimination they face, then you should probably think to yourself about why real people are less important to you than a fictional (not even canon) relationship
the buddie tag is constantly getting new content, and my posts have pretty much been buried by now. also, if you’re annoyed by three (3) posts about lesbians not being represented out of hundreds of posts about a gay couple, then you’re probably lesbophobic
it’s pretty annoying seeing that fics for a non-canon gay couple make up over 70% of the content on AO3, but fics for a canon lesbian couple make up less than 2% of it (that’s not to say that there’s anything wrong with m/m couples or Buddie specifically, but it just feels weird that people will die for m/m couples and completely disregard wlw)
anyway I’m sorry that you feel like the underrepresentation of lesbians in media and fandom content is an attack on your ship, but maybe you should take a step back and consider that this show isn’t real, but the exclusion of lesbians very much is, and not just in fandom spaces. the lack of fics is just a symptom of a larger problem that lesbians face - we’re constantly ignored and forgotten about in so many different contexts. I’m not going to go into it all now, but the one thing I’ll say is that during pride month we’re constantly left out of pride posts, despite being the first letter of the acronym. and that’s during pride. people don’t respect lesbians the way they respect gay men, and I’m allowed to be angry about this. I’m also allowed to tag my posts how I want, especially in a tag where they’ll be buried in a few days, and if you really have a problem with that you can block me

Did you steal the endophobic flag from the plural community??? They look exactly the same so I checked to see which one was made first. The endophobic flag was made first.
I’m going to put this bad boy under a cut because it has some large images and paragraphs so apologies if it breaks for mobile users and shows you an absolute mess
TL;DR: No, and you can read about the actual flag this flag is based on/a community continuation of on @archivalflags that was posted on August 15th 2016, and about historical color choices and community changes/proposed varients on this blog.
(I believe this is the flag that you’re referring to but if it’s not please send me a direct link to the one you are talking about)
Tumblr media
If anything I believe it’s more similar to an MLM flag proposal (pictured below) made by pride-and-pokemon in both color palette and stripe layout seeing as they both have a blue gradient on the top and a green gradient on the bottom (so blue-white-green versus teal/green-white-light blue-deep purple) but I also don’t think that MLM flag proposal was intentionally ripping anyone off
Tumblr media
It’s been plainly stated and linked from day one that the flag pictured below is what this proposal used as a starting point and I. It was originally posted in 2016 on August 25th and had green on the top with dark blue on the bottom, you can read about it in-depth and with sources on @archivalflags because the history is a little muddled.
Tumblr media
The reason for this was that I saw that people loved the flag and were drawn to it, but had some valid complaints about it (dull colors, no stripe meanings, etc.) so on a whim at my old job I used the medibang paint app and brainstormed things like “yeah the white stripe looks good aesthetically, but how can I make it meaningful?” and “how can I incorporate historical references into this with the colors?” and decided it would be way better as a community input-type project and now we’re here.
I believe I’ve made this point on Twitter before but when it comes to proposing flags, especially within communities like the gay community which has established historical symbols and colors, you’re going to run into a lot of flags that have similar colors and set-ups. I personally don’t think this is a bad thing because it gives people a lot of options and also I am just a sucker for seeing lots of cool flags.
Another thing is that I don’t really believe in just straight-up taking a flag that was made with different intentions for one group and trying to use it for another (this is why, due to set-up similarities in the 7-stripe versions of the flag inspired by the OG proposal, I listen to design input from my Lesbian mutuals to avoid that issue). I think that when making a flag, especially a serious pride flag for a very large group of people, you should put positivity, love, and pride for that group into it from day one. It might be a little bit romantic of me but I do believe that a pride flag should represent.... well pride in who you are and in your life!
I also believe in trying to listen to as much creative input as possible from said group which is why this flag has so many different variants with different stripe counts and color differences suggested and designed by people that aren’t me! (if you haven’t checked those out you can on https://gayflagblog.tumblr.com/flagvarients, I also have some miscellaneous tags for more niche color edits floating around)
(Just cover all of my bases I want to state: I don’t really know what “endo” or “endophobic” fully means in this context [the only endo I’m fully up to date on is my endocrinologist], and I’m not educated or informed enough to speak with nuance or respect so I’m just not going to address any of that. I’m sorry if any language is off here, not my intentions.)
EDIT: I was asked to tag this as “syscourse” at the request of some of my followers.

{Hey there! It’s Pride Month, so in honor of this (and the fact that the mun has come to a fantastic revelation about themselves not too long ago), a new resource for our resources tag, our semi-new tag for background info about the blog. That is to say, have some storage system admin pride headcanons ... and a little side note about the mun for all four of you wondering:
Bill Pronouns: he/him Orientation: Panromantic asexual
Side notes: Bill has always had a strange relationship with gender. Some tabloids will tell you it’s because he was basically raised by kimono girls; others will tell you it’s because he’s combined himself so many times with pokémon he’s lost all sense of identity. If you asked Bill himself, though, he’d tell you he’d always had a strong sense of his identity, and that identity is “gender is a human concept of a particularly alien nature, so therefore, it deeply confuses and intrigues me, but only really on a scientific rather than personal level.” To that end, he’s actually agender but refers to himself with/responds to gendered pronouns for the sake of convenience.
Lanette/LH Pronouns: she/her Orientation: Bisexual (but leans more towards men than anything else)
Side notes: Up until a few years ago, Lanette assumed she was straight because, well, that’s what you do when you grow up trying to fit certain roles. It wasn’t really until adulthood and hearing the other admins discuss their experiences that Lanette began to explore her own. She’s still rather new at this and still very uncertain about what she prefers, but she's slowly realizing it’s perfectly possible (and acceptable!) to lean towards people of her opposite gender but also, now and then, find other genders attractive.
Brigette Pronouns: she/her Orientation: Aromantic asexual
Side notes: Unlike her sister or her sister’s partner, Brigette has never needed to give any thought whatsoever to her identity. That is to say, she’s cisgendered female, she would like no part of any of these romantic/sexual shenanigans, and that’s about all she’s got to say on the matter. (She’s always been open about the aroace part, but for some reason, it never really became public until a few years ago. More than a few people were disappointed.)
Celio Pronouns: he/him, they/them Orientation: MLM
Side notes: Everyone knew Celio was gay from the moment he introduced himself to the group and immediately broke down into a mess a second later because Bill walked in. What a lot of people don’t know is that Celio’s relationship to gender is almost as loose as Bill’s is. Celio is pretty much in the closet about a lot of things, not because he’s afraid of what the admins or the rest of the world would say (he feels comfortable sharing that he’s gay, for example, and the admins reciprocate by gently trying to encourage him to find people who are more put-together than his long-lasting extremely unrequited crush) but more because One Island is an extremely traditional place.
Bebe Pronouns: she/her Orientation: WLW
Side notes: At the risk of making light of this post, Bebe’s lesbian adventures are practically legendary among the admins and the Sinnoh media, largely in part because of her not-so-secret fling with champion Cynthia once upon a time. (Bebe is to this day the only one in the admin circle who’s ever landed a champion, and frankly, some of the other admins are jealous.) She is currently dating Hayley in what some admins say is a very sweet and pure relationship ... so naturally some of the other admins are jealous.
Amanita Pronouns: she/her Orientation: ????
Side notes: Amanita is 12 and what is this. On a serious note, as of this writing/in the blog’s timeline, Amanita is still only about fourteen. On top of that, she’s been so busy being the admin of Unova and a general child genius that she hasn’t really had time to puzzle over her identity yet. The admins, who are in a sense surrogate parents for her, are actually trying their hardest to teach her the basics when she asks (in as respectful a way Fennel would allow), but they know it’s really more or less up to Amanita to figure out for herself what she is. She’s certain she’s cisgendered, but that’s about it so far.
Cassius Pronouns: he/him, they/them Orientation: Pansexual, polyamorous
Side notes: Cassius is probably the admin who’s the most open about their identities. Genderfluid (albeit one who leans more towards male than anything else—a demiguy, in a sense), pansexual, and very much polyamorous. Cassius just never really thought he had any reason to hide. He’s not, after all, someone who makes it a habit of changing who he is to fit in, and if anyone gossips about what he and his assistants (who, incidentally, are also his lovers) are up to in that cottage in Camphrier, they can suck it for all he really cares. But if you really must know, he and his partners are in an adorable domestic situation. They make each other coffee and crepes every morning and sit around knitting and binging the Great Galarian Bake-Off every night. Thank you for asking.
Molayne Pronouns: he/him Orientation: MLM
Side notes: Once upon a time, Molayne had a thing for Kukui. He still does, though he’s extremely supportive of Kukui’s relationship with Burnet. Kukui, meanwhile ... well, Kukui’s a smart man, but he’s never been much of a bright one, if you catch my drift. Consequently, when Molayne isn’t being the responsible older cousin for Sophocles, he’s being Celio’s shoulder to cry on ... or the other admins’ gentle and very knowledgable gay uncle.
Astrid Pronouns: she/her Orientation: Lesbian romantically but asexual otherwise
Side notes: Straight-up, Astrid is an OC born from the fact that Galar has no named admin, and this is a travesty. (More info here: https://bills-pokedex.tumblr.com/post/189774072411/we-interrupt-this-fan-regional-variation-posting ) That having been said, Astrid is trans, she’s very much got a crush on half the female admins, and the same social anxiety that’s kept her from putting her name on the Galarian system (see aforementioned link) also keeps her from interacting with any of said female admins long enough to get a date. (Ironically, half of the unnamed female admins out there in the world have a crush on her, as it usually goes with these kinds of things.)
Tl;dr In other words, when the admins facetiously call the circle “St. William’s Home for Wayward Orphans” (okay, so probably only Bebe and Cassius call it that), it’s partly because all of the admins were not picked out from prestigious tech universities but were instead found practically off the street through incredibly convoluted avenues, and also because so many admins are either not cis or not straight that the circle itself is practically an LGBT+ safe space.
The Mun Pronouns: any (see below) Orientation: Biromantic asexual
Side notes: Not an admin. On a serious note, like Bill, the mun has always had difficulty applying the concept of gender to themselves, but like LH, they didn’t realize that should be a sign to question their identity until fairly recently. That said, the mun is agender and would prefer it if you chose and ran with whatever pronoun you think works (except “they”). Out of convenience, the mun will often refer to themselves as either she/her or, ironically, they/them.}
