#also kinda sad how i have to learn about the exploration of the new findings in mayans in english

TW - just a vent about fandom stuff.
I feel kinda sad about how some creators in the CoD fandom have now abandoned creating content for the game series due to the demanding nature of other fans who used to consume their content. (fics, art, etc)
Like, these artists/writers in the fandom write fanfics/create art, FOR FREE OF COST and dedicate SO MUCH TIME AND ENERGY to their craft despite not getting much in return, only to deal with senseless hate, ignorance, stupidity and get treated as content generation machines; instead of actual human beings with jobs and studies and friends and families that need their time and attention as well.
A lot of us folks who write or draw do this as a hobby. As an outlet for our creativity, and we find this community for the media we are currently fixated on and we create things inspired by it cuz it brings us joy. IT MAKES US HAPPY SO WE CREATE CONTENT FOR IT!!! And then to see the same fandom/community and their horrendous behaviour driving away the creators from the fandom and the media itself is just....sad. Very disheartening.
Like I miss so many of the creators who have just given up on CoD cuz of this issue. Their works have inspired me to start writing again. They make me wish I start learning how to draw and paint again too. Their works have touch my soul, and made me happy - gave me something to look forward to every day.
But I'd much rather they leave the fandom and take care of themselves and their life, than to succumb to this weird pressure fans and fan-content consumers put on them, y'know?
Plus recently, I've seen a lot of racist and stereotypical prejudices from some CoD fans (and even some creators). I know a lot of them are new to the fandom, I was too. But I took an active effort to learn more about this game series. (and it's an ongoing effort cuz I cannot afford to play the games so I have to settle for wiki articles, gameplays, and comics) And I see so many fans not give a shit about it. They treat these characters as blank canvases to fulfill their hypersexual fantasies. (I like me a good smut fic or two, don't get me wrong) But that just makes it impossible for newer fans to get to know more about the lore and the characters. I had just finished watching the campaign for MW, and let me tell you, there are so many complex missions, characters and storylines to explore and depict through fanfics, and it's insane so many people disregard it for their whimsies so easily. That will just stunt your growth as an artist/writer! Read up on the lore, watch the game plays(the OGs and the remakes!) , maybe even read the comics!!! I promise you won't regret it ever!!!
Also, please! For all that is holy, stop putting these complex fictional characters into restricted boxes and label them. That just makes them so one-dimensional. Like -
Soap is not always cheery and bubbly and your fellow bestie. Simon is not an abuser/emotionally dead asshole just because he has a hard time expressing his emotions like everyone else. König, despite the lack of storyline/lore we have on him, isn't an uwu social anxiety babygirl, damn it. Stop excluding Gaz from your HCs and fics! He's a complex man with so many interesting things to explore about his overall story and psyche as a part of 141. He's not always begging for Price's approval either, he can and has objected to how questionable their methods have been regarding their field/work. Stop excluding Gaz from 141 stuff! It makes you look like a POS, and a lot of the people who exclude him are doing so for....pretty racist reasons. As a POC, this shit sucks balls. Also stop stereotyping POC characters in CoD - Alejandro, Rudy, Valeria, Gaz, Farah....just stop. Their ethnicity or race should not deter you from writing about them in a way that doesn't come across as prejudiced and ill-informed.
Also, not necessarily a rant, but please consider/remember the fact that the military has always been a bit of a morally dubious field of work irl, and just cuz CoD is military-centric and features characters who work in the army or PMC and take out bad guys - that doesn't take away from the violent history military has and how they have contributed to the deterioration of many countries (mainly in the Middle East). Heck, even these characters in the CoD games have done extremely unethical things and employed treacherous methods in order to get the job done. These characters may be good people in fiction, but that doesn't mean that they have done great things or have always stayed morally pure. Explore the dubious nature of it all - explore how dark and harrowing it can be for them and for the people that unwittingly or knowingly get involved in their work. It's dark and twisted but it's crucial since it's inspired from our world and it's necessary for us as humans and as artists to explore such themes and analyse them! It's crucial for the soul!!!

My frens! If you know your Mass Effect: Andromeda, then you’ll know what this GIF means.
Tumblr media
I finished the game! 🤗🥳🎉✨
Some important things of note: (SPOILERS, if anybody cares about a 6 year old game 😉)
Tumblr media
I ended up taking 120 hours but, let me tell you, that was with me playing as thoroughly as possible. I did every single task, even the ones where you had to find randomly spawning things like datapads. 😐 Fortunately, thanks to some helpful people on Youtube, I learned that several of those tasks could be sped up by controlling load zones (so you find a datapad or whatever, drive away, drive back and voila, hopefully a new one has spawned in! Sometimes you had to actually fast travel or leave the planet and return to get a new spawn, other times that would totally bork things. It was a process of discovery, lol).
I’m not going to play it through like that again, even when I start over as Scott, but it was fun to take the time to really explore on my first “visit” to the world of Andromeda!
Tumblr media
Fina-frickin’-ly, lol! The big guy played it close to the vest for a lot longer than I was expecting but, well, our love is now true, official and documented! Something I thought was really hysterical, though? Even after you’ve committed to Jaal, which eliminates the option to flirt with anybody else, I STILL had the flirt option for Drack! So, of course, I had to go ahead and take it, Jaal would just have to understand that Drack is an unstoppable Krogan love machine that NO ONE can resist. 😇😛😉 It was all good, though; Drack let me down easy and Jaal never mentioned it.
Though I did wait until Jaal wasn’t, you know, standing right there. Because I have manners and stuff. *nodnods* 😉
Tumblr media
(NOTE: This is a screencap, not a GIF, just so you don’t wonder why it’s not loading, lol) I was SUPER DUPER SAD to learn that I can’t get this look for Scott on his own playthrough. The default face can’t be customized. 😥 ZOMG, I WANT THIS SCRUFFY BEARD LOOK SO VERY MUCH. 😥 I miiiiight see about customizing one of the other faces to look as much like the default face as possible if you can have a scruffy beard. If not, then clean-shaven it will be. *HEAVY SIGH* 😛😉
And speaking of Scott, this actually managed to be something I didn’t know was coming: (SO I’LL MARK THIS WITH ITS OWN SPOILER WARNING, JUST IN CASE) I thought he’d probably wake from his coma by the end of the game but I was FLOORED when I was suddenly playing as Scott and he had a pivotal role in the final fight! 👀 It hit me as hard as an invisible drink, I tell you!
Tumblr media
Hee, for some reason, her drink glasses would randomly not appear several times throughout the game, I dunno why. But that’s not as bad as the glitch that I got thankfully only once where THE GROUND did not spawn in and so she got stuck in a cycle of falling to her death, restarting, falling to her death, restarting, falling, restarting, etc. etc. 😱😱😱 That sucked rocks through a straw big time! 😡
I still kinda laugh at the fact that, because I missed that you can customize your brother or sister, I ended up with customized Sara and default Scott as twins, lol! On Scott’s playthrough, I’m going to customize Sara to look like this Sara, though, just ‘cause. 😎 Also, I find it interesting that their dad Alec changes to match your main character, so if I use default Scott, I’ll have default Alec where as Sara’s Alec matched her look instead, lol. Oh well, clearly Original Pathfinder Ryder™ was a man of many talents! 😛
A few other fun things...
Tumblr media
This is how Peebee showed up when I changed my loadout, lol. You can see Vetra is following me because she’s my Best Girl™ but Peebs (I love it when she starts signing her emails like that 😉) is just hanging out up there! I finally had to get in the NOMAD and then back out again to get her boots on the ground!
Tumblr media
Sara has a radio-like music player at her bedside in the Pathfinder’s quarters and it has my friend THE DANCE PROMPT, YES! (You can’t see it here because I had to shorten the GIF for size limitations. 😕😉) Sara is also modeling both her casual and her sport’s casual looks for y’all as she breaks out her best moves! 😎👍😉
Next, because I’m sure the entire Internet is dying of anticipation to know my next move... 😛😉
Since I’ve learned of my other friend, Manual Save, I kept some points so I can go back and...
Tumblr media
...take Peebee up on her friends-with-benefits offer. And back up a bit farther to do the same for Liam after Sara helps him move the couch. 😛
Tumblr media
Here’s Liam and Jaal giving Sara both Thoughts™ (’cause, hey, she’s been in cryosleep for 600 years and a girl’s got neeeeeeeds, ya know!) and Anxiety™ (’cause she’s the leader of this crew and, fellas, ZOMG, this is Not Professional®) 😂
However, the next full romance I want to do (and am going to back up alllll of the way to when Sara gets the Tempest or thereabouts so I don’t miss anything) is going to be...
Tumblr media
...Vetra, my love. I just freakin’ adore her, what can I say? She was my constant through all of the missions, it was always me, Vetra and somebody else. She’s a total badass but also endearingly a little insecure and with a literal spiky exterior that covers a sweet, caring heart. Nothing but the best full-on romance for my Turian sweetheart! *fist thump* (Can you guess who I already know my fem!Shep will be romancing in the ME trilogy? Three guesses and they’re all spelled Garrus Vakarian... 😂😉)
I still would like to romance Suvi but I get the feeling she’s going to take more work like Jaal did because her flirt options dropped almost immediately as soon as I stopped selecting them. Peebee and Liam, for example, offered flirt options right up until my romance with Jaal locked in, even though I hadn’t selected one for a while. So there’s that to consider.
For Scott, he’ll definitely be romancing Avela because, as we all may recall...
Tumblr media
Also, it’s a short-lived romance so he can probably find time to also romance somebody else in that one playthrough, if I’m feeling it. (I honestly was surprised at how much I ended up loving Gil, so maybe we’ll give that a try, either here or elsewhere?)
But, of course, the full-on romance for Scott is going to be...
Tumblr media
Cora. I legit went *SQUEE* out loud when she kept asking about or mentioning Scott to Sara. *furiously waves Scott/Cora shipper flag* It made me feel kinda like she might’ve had a wee little bit of a crush on her Pathfinder’s son (when Alec was her Pathfinder, of course) but she was keeping it professional and all that. I dunno, that might just be me and those darn shipper glasses that tend to fly out of nowhere and land on my face all the time...
Tumblr media
LOL!
Also, somebody at some point will be romancing Reyes because, and please pardon my language, but he’s the epitome of a sexy mofo. 😳😛😂
Tumblr media
You also get a glimpse that there’s more to him than meets the eye. The only thing I was disappointed in was that, while I intended to choose him over Sloane, I REALLY disliked that the only way to do that was to promise Sloane you’d have her back and would keep things fair... then you let Reyes assassinate her via a sniper shot. But if you save her, you’re choosing her to “rule” Kadara instead of Reyes. *frustrated sigh* I let her get assassinated but I felt bad about it. Not about my choice but just at how it came about. (Cora also called me out on that later, to not forget that he’d had an unarmed woman killed after promising her a fair fight... 😬😥)
In conclusion of my long-winded rambling, I loved this game a LOT. Was it perfect? Was the animation sometimes WAY WONKY? No and yes. But I was here for the chance for some romance and RPG along with my combat and I really enjoyed that aspect a bunch! I’m sorry that they won’t be continuing Andromeda’s story because I would’ve liked to see more of the Tempest and her crew. As it is, though, I’ll just be content believing they’re out there saving the universe and having more adventures!
I’ll eventually be moving to the OG trilogy and I’m definitely looking forward to that! But for now, thank you, Mass Effect: Andromeda, for 120 hours of fun game time and here’s to many more!

what do you like most about Juvia? and what's your favorite ship of Juvia (with someone?)
OHHH JUVIA... JUVIA.... I complain a lot about her, especially the way she's written post series 1 😭 I'm not a big fan of her obsession with Gray (& how that's her entire personality now 😨) BUT YEAH shes still one of my favorites;;;;;
It's mainly her idea / concept / potential that i fell in love with, which sadly never got explored much in the series, BUT here's a list of stuff I loved about her canonically in no particular order (+ the ships);
Her backstory and her arc during Phantom Lord. I lovee how her and Gray's fight was resolved, I'm so happy she finally got to see a clear and bright sky after YEARS of thinking she'll never see it because of how awfully she's been treated by people around her for something she couldn't control, I think it was beautiful!!! And she definitely deserved it!!!! I could relate to it a lot too 😭
She LOVES her friends as much as everyone else in FT does, it just doesn't seem like it because of her. Thing. With calling people her "love rival," at least before series 2. ->
The series' first ever unison raid being hers and Lucys??? ICONIC. I'M GOING TO BITE A TABLE. Her self sacrifice to get Cana out of Freed's jutsu shiki??? DEVASTATINGLY SWEET. Getting Gajeel to join her in Fairy Tail because she was worried he wouldn't find / be accepted in any other guild??? ALSO REALLY SWEET, GOD. Her team ups with Lisanna during Tenrou and Alvarez??? VERY CUTE 10/10 WE NEED MORE.
If it isn't obvious enough, she actually does have a really cute and funny character (As long as shes not doing anything relating to Gray for once)!!!! And I love that contrast between her new brighter and more cheery personality and her older, quiter and depressed one. Its really sweet. I love her character arc a lot ok. I love how she actually doesnt like swimming despite her element being water and how shes awful at baking!!!! Go girl!!! Give us nothing!!! I lovee how shes not above doing anything dumb with her friends (Like with Gajeel, especially) shes fun I miss her ☝️
Her design(s) ??? Have you seen her??? She's serving 24/7. A unique silhouette every time too. Phantom Lord fit? A slay, a definitive classic, love the europe-ness of it, really fits her constant rain thing she had going on. The teru teru bozu on her was adorable and sad at the same time. So good she came back to wearing it after Edolas Arc (this was apparently a warning). Her outfit once she joins Fairy Tail??? ADORABLE! THE DRESS WAS UNIQUE!! THE SHORT HAIR WAS A SLAY. I'd say it counts as a 'meaningful hair cut' even when we never got to see her cut it or why she did but narratively it did show that she was starting a new life 🫶 I dont think i need to say much about her fits after Tenrou, they look really good and comfy 😌 And I love her long hair too, not as much as her short hair but its cute how it kinda looks like water, intentional or not. Shes one of the few women in FT who hasn't come down with a nasty case of 'Mashima's Same Face Syndrome Post GMG' but she was still affected by it. Also i love her long boots and furs..
Phantom Lord Juvia was reallyy cool too, before she got a redemption and all. Look at her!!! How powerful and mysterious she seemed!!!! The dark blues / black outfit... the rain following her wherever she goes, how she was one of the strongest people in Phantom, again, the teru teru bozu, her constantly stone cold face, dark eyes, how ominous she was- she was Leaking 'Power' at that point and I kinda miss her intimidating presence :( I love how scary she was and could be sometimes
Her arc with Meredy,,, I dont know how to articulate my thoughts on their fight nor am i confident enough that the stuff im thinking of actually happened / was there (Like her recognizing that Meredys situation was awful, did Juvia even ever learned about her past??) (Been a while since I rewatched/read it, my bad) but the hug did stood out to me. Usually the fights would end with someone or both or more on the floor / ground, regardless of the characters, but this time Juvia just hugs her, and Meredy cries and its just ??? 🥹🥹🥹 AND THEY HUG EVERYTIME THEY SEE EACHOTHER AFTER A LONG TIME TOO AFTER THAT,,, ITS REALLY CUTE... also i think its cool that Mashima changed it so it ended like that because of a flood that happened.
Her magic seems really flexible and awesome, no wonder she was part of the elemental four and an S-class candidate- Girl!! She's weaponizing pressurized water!!! You can't just get hit by them and expect yourself to be okay just because its water!!! She could just drown people soo easily using waterlock or send them back MILES using. That attack I forgot the name of. She could just "disappear" by turning into puddle and reappear and surprise people the same way!!!! You cant attack her using physical objects, it would just phase through her!!!! She can flood entire arenas!!!!! The fact that should apparently control the temperature / heat of the water too!?? Girl!!! Use it more!!!! Hate how it was shown once during phantom but never mentioned again, that would've been so useful. Mashima knew she would've been unstoppable if she was used to her fullest potential so she was nerfed like every other characters whos ever gotten a redemption.
Okay apparently i like her more than I thought. Let's not mention the stalking bit. I think its creepy. But yeah!!! Love her character!!
As for ships, I'm not that picky with ships involving her (Reason being im never sure if i ship them for romantic reasons or if its because i think they wouldve been funny), just make sure it isn't Gray, also I tend to ship her with women more & headcanon that shes a lesbian!
My favorites are obviously luvia (Lucy) and lisvia (Lisanna) or lulivia (POLYCULE‼️‼️) I just think they're neat and like really sweet aauagh. Something about these two girls accepting her almost immediately, how they like talking about love a lot, Lucy & Lisanna teaching her how to bake, the beach trips, the sleepovers would've been legendary..... so would the dates.......... think about it,,, The iconic-ness of the first ever unison raid from luvia.... the Juvia/Lisanna team up during tenrou.... the spite from shipping something against the majority of the fandom,,,,, Come down here into this cellar with me...
I also like ervia a lot, they have a lot of potential!! I wish we got to see them spar 1 on 1, like before tenrou? Also the scene where Erza conforts her after she failed to give the scarf to Gray 🥹🥹??? Cana and Juvia are also funny and they have GREAT chemistry in canon, most tensioned filled Juvia ship ever & im surprised its not right behind Gruvia as the fandoms favorite Juvia ship.
Lyvia also wouldve been cool!!! I love whenever 2 characters are unhealthy and obsessed with one another, and lyvia could've been that had Juvia reciprocated his feelings. Also seems better than gruvia. Lyon doesn't actually stalk her hes just a simp whenever he spots her.
Meredy/Juvia is cute too (AFTER the timeskip) idk they're adorable. I think the FTGKMR card of Meredy wearing Juvia's clothes sold me on this, because lets be honest if she was wearing Lyon's outfit, the whole fandom would've screeched as well 🙄 you've seen their reaction towards Lucy wearing Natsus vest thing, let me have this. But yeah i see it Less as romantic and more just best friends. Not quite mother/daughter or siblings because i never got the chance to think of it that way too much while watching (Thanks to the timeskip immediately after tenrou too)
Aquarius and Juvia would've been neat to see more of, especially when they got along SO WELL during the short amount of time they talked in the celestial spirit realm 😭 This is kinda a joke ship but yeah i do like it :)
Navia and gajuvia are cool too 👍 They're are getting up to no good!!! Again, i see them more as friends than lovers but I see the appeal.
Also heres the meredy card im talking about in case you want to see:

Hello! Jim again after some time without appear!
I just want to say about a AU where Sanji meets the ASL sooner. He is 9 during the time and the Baratie is still pretty new, but is turning famuos pretty quickly (Luffy is 7 and Ace/Sabo 10). They stop at Dawn to buy supplies to the restaurant and Zeff just- say to Sanji explore the beach a little 'cause the eggplant needs some sun and fresh air from the island.
By pure accident he found Makino's bar where the trio is having lunch. Luffy finds him interesting and start to talk with him, scaring Sanji a little by the out of nowhere boy in front of him. But he is fun and soon, the blonde is talking with him to no end, the two older boys observing.
Sabo start to talk too, finding the other boy interesting too. The only one who just observed was Ace, being forced to talk too be his brothers after they notice this.
The four kids play around the bar, until Zeff appear to Sanji go to the Baratie again. The ASL are excited when they discover this, he lives in a ship who's also a restaurant?! The next day the trio go at the Baratie to know the place and call Sanji to play again, but he can't since he also helps (Zeff lets during the afternoon, since the eggplant deserve some friends).
And the four play every day until the Baratie have to set sail again. The ASL are sad, and Sanji is too. (Sabo is still with his brother after everything with his 'family', and after 1 or 2 years Sanji is back)
And after 7 years since they meet Luffy and Sanji meet again at the Baratie and, well, Ace and Sabo are surprised that Sanji is in Luffy's crew.
(Zosan bonus: Zoro is jealous by Sanji's closeness with Luffy, and eventually by Ace's playful flirting and Sabo's kinda touch way with the cook)
omg hi Jim, this is such a cute idea!
The ASL brothers would be in heaven when they found out their new friend is not only learning to be a cook but also lives in a restaurant. They are so so happy but then Zeff gives them a whooping for eating like it's an all-you-can-eat-for-free buffet. So next time they catch things on their own and ask the cooks to cook them for them. Zeff would still probably make them clean the floors for the labour but still it'd be a bit better
Sanji isn't the most physical person with his affections so Zoro would absolutely be in shock at how okay he is with it when it comes to the brothers. With Luffy - okay, it's Luffy so it can't be avoided. But then Ace? and then Sabo??? It's just so funny to me imagining his bewilderment lmao

Soo... I finally have time to go a bit in depth into why I love Cassette Beasts after finishing it.
Honestly It was such a blast. I don't remember what I said in my last post and Tumblr doesn't want to collaborate to help me find it so I may repeat some points.
The music is awesome. The art is super charming. The battle system is really developed but not too complex. The mosnters are really creative. And the characters are great too. I didn't know what to expect about the story and while it isn't revolutionary, it's got a few twists and susprises that I really liked.
Honestly, it's a great game for a good price and it really shines thanks to all the effort and love put into it. If you are on the fence, give it a chance.
I'm going to get into end-game stuff so spoilers bellow.
I really loved the story. It was simple but it never felt too boring. Going from place to place, doing quests, exploring and finding new mosnters... It really felt like playing a pokemon game for the first time when you were 10 and everything was new.
Also, finding and helping your partners. Building a relationship and learning about them... Honastly, I didn't dislike anyone and it was really sad saying goodby at the end.
An the bosses. The Archangels are really something. They are so not from here with their 3D models and other representations, they really seem like cosmic horror for the characters. And at the end, when you learn what they are and fuse all together to kinda become one and fight Aleph... Really cool.
I don't remember who said in my other post that you could permafreeze some monsters but thank you for the tip. I tried it and it was really funny. I also tried to turn some monsters to glass and use wind to destroy them. though now that I say it out loud it sound a bit cruel. But, that you can even do this to begin with really shows how great and connected the interactions between elements can be.
My favorite cassette beasts are Lobstacle (love saing its name outloud), Apocrowlypse, Glaistain, Aeroboros and Auriclaw (love its gimmick).
Also, I think that I already talked about the music but honestly, its amazing. When you are fighting and you fuse and the lyrics kick in, wonderful. And the regular battle theme is also great. And the battle against the Archangels. And---
The only thing bad thing I can think of right now is that I still haven't found a bootleg on my own. But still have to do part of the post-game so I guess it's just a matter of time.
Yeah, I may have tried to write this too many times and ended up just rambling... and distracted... But really this is such a great game. One of the best monster tamer out there.

I’ just finished CBS Ghosts, and I wanted to give my two cents on the CBS vs BBC ghosts
CBS
I feel like it explores the rules of ghosts a lot more. It introduced the concept of possession and how things like burning sage have no effect on ghosts (even if I would have found it really funny if Hetty or Trevor (certified evil businessmen) found the sage disgusting). I feel like the longer seasons shorter episodes works better to explore these little plots for an episode.
It also feels like they’re making more progress on the house and that there’s more triumph to even just getting the chance to host stuff. And it feels more realistic that even with the ghosts, they’d hire someone to help run an entire b&b. While I don’t really know how their incomes are covering so many repairs, I like seeing that they’re doing well. You generally get to see a lot more of Sam and Jay’s lives in it too. I don’t think they ever even said what Alison was doing before she started dedicating her time to the house.
The more present possibility of the house ghosts getting sucked off is introduced really early, and I find that super interesting. The ghosts have pretty clear things that they feel like if they can just fix that then they’ll be gone, so it feels like the ghosts really have a chance of leaving at anytime.
Because of Sam being more extroverted and her feeling like an even greater focus than Alison in BBC, we get to see how she interacts with ghosts in different places. The world feels fuller than BBC. This also means we get to see a wider variety of ghost powers, so it’s fun to see all the creative powers they came up with
Something that I don’t really like is how because of its comedy status, it feels afraid to go dark and sad. Any time they explore ideas like Hetty desperate for more life while possessing Jay or Trevor online dating Bela, it might be that they tell more than they show or maybe it’s the score but I’m really not sure what makes it not hit as hard as the BBC.
Like seemingly all the big American comedies, it takes a little while to get a handle on its sense of humor. I think a lot of the earlier episodes will leave it feeling dated pretty fast, but it grows out of that more and more as time goes on. There’s even some moments that made me laugh plenty harder than the BBC ever did (I am American, and I do indeed laugh at show with ‘funnier to Americans’ slapped on the label)
I’ve already seen this talked about a lot, but I very much don’t like the plague ghosts’ ugly=bad person message even if I did really like Nancy.
I haven’t gotten how their time as ghosts have affected them. I haven’t gotten Fanny’s passion for math, Robin’s love for the moon, or the fact that Mary was starting to learn how to read. I guess it makes sense because neither of these characters really share their struggles a lot, but I want living for hundreds of years to have noticeable effects on them instead of it just them having a mix of their original time and the modern one and calling it a day. I didn’t like the way this plot was done at all, but it was interesting to see Sass become annoyed by Pete’s unwavering love of life
Sure, we get Thorfinn’s LANDSHIP and Hetty’s encouraging Sam to try some cocaine, but they feel like they aren’t very stuck in their own time. They change and adapt to modern day surprisingly easily, even if sometimes the stuff they get interested in doesn’t really make sense to me. (This is fully stolen from another post) but Thorfinn and Sassapis’ dating show vs Fanny’s Murder She Wrote or Mary’s Loose Women
We get some of the ghosts being around for younger ones’ lives, and I love it immensely. Thorfinn being Hetty’s imaginary friend and singing her to sleep is one of my favorite parts of the show. For BBC, we kinda only see the ghosts gathering around for the possibility of a new ghost
I loved seeing how Pete’s direction brought some much needed stability to the other ghosts. Without him, they’re all too self-serving, and they need him to tell them what they’re supposed to act like. He is the leader of a bunch of children!!
The fact that they have hell is so funny to me. They get hell privileges. And it’s Hetty that gave it to them by sending her shitty husband straight down, and I’m starting to like Hetty more by the day
There’s something about the little plots of the episodes that can feel kinda uncreative compared to BBC. Of course I think that it can go into really interesting territory, specifically in exploring ghosts rules, but the way things play out can feel predictable at times. Like, in the BBC, the plot of ‘a ghost wanted to give a mysterious letter to someone he was obviously in love with but backed out, and oh no! He‘ll never get to share what was in the letter with the person because they’re both dead!’ Isn’t the most creative plot in the world, but bring in the fact that he hid it in a bomb in the backyard, and it’s a lot less clear how that’s going to play out.
I think my feeling that the episodes were a little more predictable helped contribute to my not being as invested. BBC’s fun, creative plots make them feel like people whereas CBS’s plots make them feel like good sitcom characters. So when I do get interesting details that flesh them out, it’s harder to notice because I already don’t care about their character as much
CBS leaned into the shipping angle hard, and it can be really fun. Just to get it out of the way, some of it feels like it includes canned sitcom plots like Sass being scared that the Car Ghost is cheating or Pete/Alberta and Isaac/Nigel having the exact same plot for a good second. But Thor/Flower is so adorable and I would do unimaginable things for them and every single scene with Hetty/Trevor is pure comedy gold to me like oh my god (also I do want them to fuck, I think they deserve it)
BBC
The spectrum of emotion it gets is a lot better. I personally like the humor a lot more, but I think the more noticeable bit is how devastatingly beautiful some storylines are. From Thomas’ or Humphrey’s death to Cap’s love to Fanny’s life, it’s all done so well. These stories are told in fascinating ways that have loads of hilarious bits to lighten them up, but by the end of it, their lives were perfectly written tragedies.
Alison and Mike feel more real. Alison realistically gets frustrated with the ghosts, but you can see how they’re starting to grow as people and how they rub off on her. It’s really interesting to see how the ghosts have affected their lives with Alison not really finding work outside of the house and Mike desperately trying to connect to this part of Alison’s life.
While they definitely haven’t explored it a lot, I think I like how they deal with Gone Gone more than how CBS does sucking off. It feels more true to the nature of death in real life. No one got to say what they needed to say to Mary like Sam did with her mom, she just went, and it wasn’t right after she had the big revelatory fight with Alison. Sure, there were signs pointing to Mary being finally satisfied in death, but you’re not going to jump right to that conclusion. It was unexpected and there wasn’t simple closure, and I love that.
Having longer episodes lets every ghost get their turn. For every episode there’s like four different plots, so it never feels like any ghosts just spectates for an episode like I sometimes feel the CBS does. You never have to wonder what everyone was doing and thinking while the main plot’s going on
I love Pat’s role in the group and how the dynamic is a little different from CBS.’ They still have his clubs because it’s Pat’s whole reason for not getting sucked off that he will cling to routine no matter what, even if their whole way of life now includes much easier access to the internet’s worth of entertainment. Also, while Pete is the nice, normal one of the group, Pat is normal enough compared to everyone else to be passed off as that, but he also asked Alison to kill his wife and the whole ‘dip it again’ bit
There’s a near perpetual silliness about the show that makes it so fun to watch. Everything in this show from the plots to character’s movements to their decisions down to the facial expressions are just silly and goofy at the exact right times, and they know when to get serious too. The goofiness is one of the main reasons I love the show so much.
I’m sure you can tell I’m definitely biased toward BBC, but I will say that the bit with Elias going down on them had me laughing harder than BBC ever did

I have a confession to make to the LoZ fandom...
I kind of hate the premise of Age of Calamity.
Nintendo crafted an exquisite tragedy to serve as the backstory for Breath of the Wild--and that's a tragedy in the Greek sense, where the terrible outcome is inevitable because of the human flaws of the people involved (mostly Rhoam, but also slightly Zelda). The game needed a tragic backstory in order to be what it was--a game about moving on from loss, learning to appreciate and make the most of and protect what remains, and finding the beauty in stillness and emptiness.
And by and large, players adore it. We love exploring this desolate Hyrule, discovering ruined structures--some ancient, some a mere century old--and memories, and gradually piecing together the horror of the Calamity that left the world in this state. We love what hasn't been destroyed--the NPCs who have slowly been rebuilding civilization in Link's absence, the unspoiled wilderness reclaiming what was once settled and filling it with natural resources and beauty. We love Link as a microcosm of his world, battered and scarred to near destruction but barely pulled back from that precipice and now functionally reborn, shorn of the weight of his former role along with his memories. As he gets to start over, to recover himself without the extraneous baggage that once oppressed him, so too does Hyrule re-emerge from the ashes and even attain new growth, as with the Tarrey Town sidequest. We find meaning in the aftermath of the tragedy, in what it decimated, what it merely brushed against, and what it seemed not to touch at all.
And then along comes AoC to say nope, actually, the thing to do if possible is prevent the Calamity...and since we're the game devs at Nintendo, it IS possible! The true ending is the one where the tragedy is averted...and hence BotW never happens.
It just feels...idk, kinda cheap, like Nintendo is backpedalling away from the sad story they told us...after thousands and thousands of us found deep meaning in it. And in the process, that meaning is denied.
And I kind of hate it.
They could have done so much better. Imagine a version of AoC that instead leans in to the tragedy, letting us play as Link and Zelda and the Champions as they barrel toward a horrible foregone conclusion, seeing what little they can save along the way. Imagine missions such as rescuing a family cowering in their home as Guardians tear it apart, or escorting a group of evacuating soldiers and citizens, or being a Champion mowing down hordes of monsters on the way to your Divine Beast, only to be faced with the Blight Ganon and unable to win, but scoring based on how long you hold out.
I mean, jeez.
And at the very least, if they wanted the option to avert the Calamity, the pitch should have been "On this day 100 years ago, the kingdom of Hyrule fell...because YOU [the player] weren't there! This is your opportunity to change history!" But instead we got "What if secret time-traveling robot?" It's unsatisfying.
Okay, rant over.

helloo idk if you are the type of writer to do this but seeing how youve been posting ffs' since a while back now this makes me want to ask you hehe (cause of experience?)
so uh how do you plan out stories? like as a person myself ive never really find male reader stories that is in my style so i decided to make stories myself TT
i specifically want stories that are heavy in angst (thats why i said in the beginning if you are the correct writer for this). how are you able to plan out angsty stories? how long do you plan to write the introduction and when is a good time for the introduction to shift to the other parts? and when is the perfect time for the climax of the story?
you don't have to answer fully detailed if you don't really get what I mean TT but if you are able to include some few general tips then I'd appreciate that <3
and also sorry if this is kinda weird and time-consuming to ask 🥹🤞🏻
awhh hey there!! i feel so honored that you felt i was worthy to ask this LOL. im so happy to hear we’ll have another writing joining the ranks <3
im so sorry if i disappoint, but i rarely plan things out,, which is actually rlly bad if you plan on taking writing a little more seriously 😭
i’m not the best with the angst at all, i think i’ve only written it like once/twice and it was kinda bad each time — but i would say in terms of planning it out you would want to begin with identifying an inciting incident!! aka, figure out what you’d want your pain “problem/conflict” of the fic to be, and then decide how you want to introduce that problem, if that makes sense.
if we’re talking about timing, i would say my average fic follows a movie’s structure. i believe stories overall are received best when you use what i guess i call the “sandwich method” LMAO,, which is:
fluff > introduction of conflict > actual conflict > resolution > fluff
basically meaning i usually start my stories (the few that have plot 😭) off with good vibes, and then descend into the root of the issue, and then once your reader/character resolves the issue, it obviously ends in a happy ending lol.
however, every writer is different and every story is different which is what makes it so much fun!! considering you really like angst, you could start your story MID-conflict to be honest, which actually grabs the average reader’s attention much more often. whereas the climax of the story usually takes place near the ending. you could also explore sad endings!!
im not the most qualified to give this advice but i figured i’d just share my thought process a little bit!! i’ll have been writing for a year come the end of this month so i’m still pretty new & have lots to learn!!!
if anyone has any beneficial advice for our friend pls drop some comments :)) i wish you the best of luck writing and hope you fall in love with it <33

The good points of: Sage
Tumblr media
Other parts here
Today, I will write about the second main protagonist: Sage.
Sage is... a complexe character to analyse. Not because she has a very deep psychology, but because she’s two very different characters in one. Sage is like doctor Jekyll. Good Sage is an anxious, shy, hard-working, bookworms nerd. Bad Sage is a manipulative, toxic, selfcentred villain. So in the fandom, you can find people who absolutly love Sage because they relate to her a lot and people who just hate her because she reminds them horrible friends. Since I was an anxious nerd in my teenager years AND I had a friend like bad Sage, I have trouble to decide how I feel about her.
So for this post, I will only talk about good Sage. The Sage that the creators want to write most of the time and not the Sage that they write because of a lack of global vision.
As usual, don’t hesitate to go to the creator’s tumblr: @dinoraye
(And if you don’t want to be tagged on all my post Raye, don’t hesitate to tell me in mp)
Her design
Tumblr media
Sage’s is pretty simple for this serie. In comparaison with Rosemary’s one, we could call it too simple: only one color, overly simple clothes... But I think it matches well with her personnality. If Rosemary is flamboyant, loud and energetic, Sage is the exact opposite. She’s quite, tries to not attract too much attention, is more of a follower.
So, her simple old-fashioned dress, her big witch hate, her simple boots and her braid tell you everything you need to know about her. And also about the dynamic between her and her friend.
Plus, I really like that her eyes are pink like Rosemary's hair and Rosemray’s eyes are blue like Sage’s hair. It’s a nice touch that express how much this two are close.
But that’s not it. Because Sage has a particularity: her design evolves during the show. And it’s not her clothes like it’s expect, but it’s her haircut.
Tumblr media
This design is the original design that Raye Rodriguez made for her. And I must admit that short-hair-Sage is adorable! Plus, it’s a symbol of her evolution. I’m kinda sad that the scene where she cuts her hair isn’t related to her arc (she cuts them for saving Rosemary, and even if it’s cute that she did it for her friend, she never express a lot of attachment toward her hair and saving Rosemary isn’t related to her personnal arc), but at least we understand that short-hair-Sage is more confident (she compliment Snapdragon about his nails without being anxious) and that she finds her own way to do magic (which was her arc).
Bonus point for the fact that when she cuts her hair, it’s not nice right away and Rosemary needs to style it:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It’s a nice little touch to her design and her character.
Her personnality
Like I said, Sage has two very different personnalities. But for the sake of this serie of post, we will talk about Good-Sage.
Sage begins the story as a quite, shy and anxious but who tries to do her best. She brings a nice contrast and breaks with the always enthusiastic Rosemary. With her, we have the time to learn about the universe, its rules and magic. And since she doesn’t take all the spotlight, she’s also a good character for introducing others less difficult like Thyme or Amaryllis.
Tumblr media
But she also has the potential to be a guardian. At her first class, professor Caraway explains that they must be brave if they want to be a guardian. And that’s what Sage does: she overcomes her shyness (showned a few moments before) and raises her hand to talk in public.
She also knows she’s not perfect at all and she has a lo to learn. So when she decides to use new magic, she wakes up early to train. It’s admirable.
Tumblr media
Her story and her arc
Sage is clearly the character that the creators were the most interested in. Her arc is the main one for half the show, her troubles are way more explored than the other’s and she’s linked to every story unlike Rosemary (who is linked to the rot only because she likes Parsley and Parsley is Thyme’s friend).
Sage is involved in the plot because her arc is about magic. So she has to learn it, which linked her to the school’s stories. So she has to talk about with her relatives, which linked her to the outside school’s stories. So it creates drama because she’s inscured about it, which linked her to the dramatic stories. So she argues with other characters, which linked her to character’s exploration’s stories. And since the ain threat is magic, she’s linked to it actively. Clearly, Sage is the most interesting to follow and - in my opinion - the real main character of the show.
Like I said, Sage as the anxious nerd, is very relatable. Everyone has being insecure during their teenager’s years. And seeing Sage having the same problems and solving it is comforting. She also becomes more confident, more open, more stable. We’re happy for her.
Tumblr media
Finally, Sage has a real romance with Snapdragon (sorry Raye, I don’t buy it the “Sage and Rosemary could be the end goal”). And it’s really, really cute! Their flirts and their interactions are well written and it’s pleasant to see them together. Especially when Snapdragon doesn’t really have someone to talk about his feelings since his only friend - Amaryllis - isn’t really good with emotions and all. Same with Rosemary and Sage, as much as Rosemary wants to, she’s unable to quite understand Sage’s troubles with her family since her whole background is family love. They could make a great couple.
Tumblr media
She has a full arc, problems, an evolution psychological and physical, has a cute romance and is involved with the plot.
Conclusion
Sage is clearly the character who represents what the creators wanted to do: writting story about growing up. She’s the one who is the most involved and who evolves the most. She’s also the most relatable one because her problems (fear of disappointing her family, not being enough, anxious about not knowing everything and not being able to plan proprely, troubles to adapt to new concept...) can be apply to our own life.
And since she’s the quite one, she lets her scenes breath and we learn as much about other characters as about her in them. She made a great duo with Rosemary to help the audience to feel involved.
What do you think about Sage? Do you like her? If not, why?

Dear Sephiroth: (a letter to a fictional character, because why not) #69
I am going to try to write you a letter. But my brain is soup in part because I'm still recovering from Sunday and in part because this is the week (or two) that my body decided to throw a temper tantrum over the fact that I am not actively building a new human inside of myself. It's not really the tantrum itself that soup-ifies my brain, but rather, it is the excruciating pain that comes with the first few days of it, along with the fact that I'm losing a lot of valuable resources such as protein, iron, and magnesium (and at that, I lose twice as much as average; thanks, PCOS… 🙄).
I did some adulting today, though. I went and got a kind of checkup; the doc checked out the area just beneath my right collarbone, and she can feel that it's kinda lumpy and misshapen, as though a bone is sticking out weirdly. She's gonna review the imaging that has been done already, and then try to order a CAT scan, I guess, of the place where my ribs connect to my sternum, depending. I guess we'll see how it goes. I hope whatever it is can be found and fixed; I -really- wanna go back to living my normal life. I want to go back to the pool. I want to be able to move around and breathe and laugh and yawn and to do dishes without pain.
But other than that, I rested today. I played a LOT of Pokemon. Right now, I'm still going through Scarlet; Koraidon just learned how to fly permanently, so I've spent a lot of time just sailing the skies together; it's wonderful. I also spent some time picnicking with my team, and wandering around with Mewtwo at my side.
…I don't really like the capturing or battling aspect, though, truth be told. I would much rather just walk around with my non-human companions willingly at my side, eating snacks, hugging, cuddling, and petting, kicking a ball around, exploring the world, and asking them what they think about the places we're going and the things we're seeing.
One of the things I miss most about HeartGold, SoulSilver, and Let's Go was that you could have your Pokemon out, and you could talk to them, and there would be detailed responses for what they were thinking and feeling. You can have your Pokemon out in Scarlet, but their responses to when I talk to them are… underdeveloped, at best. I have fond memories of running through puddles in SoulSilver with Mewtwo, then turning around to talk to him, to find out that he is playing and splashing around happily and looking at his reflection in the water. It's too cute!!! I might explode from the cuteness!!! Oh my goodness!!!
M will have the TV soon, though. He is going through FF7: Remake one more time before FF7: Rebirth comes out. Only 3 days now.
…I'd like to say I'm looking forward to it, but to tell you the truth, I'm… scared. I don't know what sorts of things you will end up doing. I imagine that at least some of the time, you will continue to make destructive choices that hurt the people around you. I feel very sad to think about this.
I'm scared that you might not be given any opportunity to make a different choice. The people in my world seem to be in love with the notion that abuse survivors, neurodivergent people, and people who make mistakes in the throes of their suffering are all unable to grow or change, and are thus all unworthy of the help they need to thrive. The trope that people like me are nothing more than monsters that need to be slain is getting… sheesh… really, really old. And really, really depressing.
And… if you end up refusing to turn yourself around, or if you end up getting slain, how many people who relate to you will then be unable to believe that recovery is possible? How many will continue destroying themselves or continue to hate the world around them just because the notion that there isn't anything better for them keeps getting reinforced? How many people will refuse to seek the help they need on the basis that "some people are just broken beyond repair, and I'm one of those people, so there's no point in trying"?
…And how will the way your story ends affect the way other people treat people who are like the ones I've just described? People mimic what they see even if it's not real. Actors who portray villains sometimes get hated for their roles to the point of harassment because there are enough people who think that the role they portray is how they act in real life. There are people who come away from movies, and the "lesson" they take away from it ends up being stuff like "brown people are not to be trusted" and "people who don't speak English are dumb" and, "the way this woman character acted just goes to show that all women are evil." Thinking about all this is kind of terrifying sometimes.
If you don't make a different choice… if you end up getting killed… in what ways will that end up perpetuating the notion that people like you and me and others like us are irredeemable, unhealable, and worthless?
And… if they end up making you disappear in the end in a permanent way… Sephiroth. You have been the inspiration for me to continue on living, because you are the first person in any piece of media I've seen whose circumstances and behaviors looked like mine. It's because of you that I held onto the hope that maybe I'm not all by myself, that maybe I can find others in the world who are like me. And it's because I held onto this hope that my childhood didn't break me down to the point of destroying my own meat-mech. I came close more times than I wanna talk about. And sometimes, avoiding doing that it still a struggle.
But instead, I imitated your steadfast determination to rise up again in order to correct a grievous injustice and to try make the world a better place where you and your friends would not get hurt (even if you were acting from a misguided place and your methods were… not stellar, to put it mildly…), despite the pain and anguish you were in.
You were (falsely) led to believe that Jenova was a Cetra and your mother. You were (falsely) led to believe that she was being cruelly kept from you and imprisoned at the Mt. Nibel Reactor for the purpose of being used in torturous experiments, like what happened to you as a boy. You were (falsely) led to believe that humans were willfully responsible for the extinction of the Cetra, and thus led to believe that humans are the reason you felt out-of-place and unloved your whole life. Even without that, you witnessed firsthand that every human was complicit in the cruelty that created you and complicit in the denial of your humanity in favor of the consumption of you as a celebrity. They bullied you until you made a name for yourself. They regularly pushed you to take care of everyone but yourself. After you made a name for yourself, they didn't love YOU - they only loved what you could do, what you looked like, and what prestige they thought being in your presence could give them.
Their behaviors had painted themselves as invariably selfish and cruel in your eyes, and you were justifiably angry with them about how you and the people you loved were treated your whole lives. But you had starved, dehydrated, and sleep-deprived yourself to read those books full of lies, and by the time you came out of that… instead of having a measured, rational response, you were triggered into autopilot, blindly following the neural pathways of your conditioning that told you to "eliminate the enemy", and as a result, innocent people paid the price for your failure to control yourself. As much as I love you, this is still unacceptable, and it is still entirely your fault. Just like anytime I get triggered and lash out at the people around me, that is entirely my fault, regardless of the circumstances.
But nonetheless, as battered, exhausted, and anguished as you were, the FIRST THING you set off to do after you left that damnable library was to try to wrest a tormented and abused person(?) away from government control. You set off to protect someone who you thought loved you, someone you had spent your entire life looking for. You set off to punish evil. You set off to make the world a safe place for your "mother" and for your friends. You decided, "THIS THING THAT HAPPENED TO ME WILL HAPPEN TO NO ONE EVER AGAIN," and you set off to make it so. But unfortunately, you did all these things in a way that was very wrong, because you did them on the basis of things that weren't actually true, and you were so addled from your piss-poor mental and physical condition that you couldn't keep your shit together. Your intentions were noble, even if you botched everything else. But still, you had to be stopped, because obviously. And even after you were thrown into the reactor core, you simply got back up, dusted yourself off, and tried again. Your persistence and sense of justice are remarkable, even if you need to invest a lot (like, A LOT!!!! HOLY FUCK!!!) more stat points in things like "fact checking", "self-care", and "emotional regulation".
I wanted to be a kind, gentle, thoughtful person like the way you were before you fell down (the way I know you can still be, if you turn yourself around). I wanted to abhor injustice and to be determined enough to rise up again no matter how many times or how badly I'm knocked down, like the way you were after you fell down (I hope you'll retain these traits if you turn yourself around). I wanted to combine that loving kindness and that determination and thirst for justice into something amazing in order to try to help a lot of people, no matter how much it hurts for me to continue to exist in this place. Because Sephiroth, I didn't have "real life" role models during my childhood, for the most part. All I had at the time, really, was YOU. And the "you" I saw wasn't the "cool aloof badass war hero" that everyone else seemed to see and fawn over for the sake of getting into your good graces. No, the "you" I saw was socially clumsy and very forlorn human being who was gentle and kind anyway, and doing his best all the time.
However, I'm finding that despite my best efforts, by and large, my voice is not one that most people think is worth listening to. So really, in the grand scheme of things, I am powerless and unimportant, and at the end of the day, I am always coming face to face with my insignificance, and with the fact that I am not strong enough or skilled enough to do anything with any real meaning or impact for anyone. But day after day, I get back up and try again anyway, because I am looking up to YOU. I am kind and gentle from following your example. I fall down a lot, but I get back up, albeit on shaky legs, from following your example.
If you disappear, then a large part of the reason I've bothered to stay alive for this long will disappear along with you. And while I might be able to kind-of-sort-of manage maybe, I know that if you are erased, if I can't convince myself that you're actually okay somehow because the cells you're infected with render you indestructible, I'll never be the same. And I'm not the only one who thinks that way, I'm sure.
Because you know what? Unlike me, you aren't powerless and unimportant. If I were to disappear RIGHT NOW, only a relatively small number of people would be sad. And eventually, they would pack up and move on, and life would continue as though nothing remarkable happened, and I would be forgotten in a decade or two, as though I wasn't even here at all. But you? People are going to tell stories about you long after their grandchildren have their own kids. You are going to set the example for us about how people should treat the abused, the neurodivergent, and the fallen. Your story has the capacity to make things better for SO MANY PEOPLE in my world, if it's done right. Your story has the capacity to save lives. I know this because you've saved mine, and mine has gone on to save a few others. If you need proof that you are a good thing even with your mistakes, look no further than this.
So I'm going to beg you to turn yourself around. I'm going to beg you to make good choices. Even if it's awkward and scary and you feel really bad about everything that's happened, I'm going to beg you to use the knowledge that you're loved in order to muster up the courage to step back into the light. Because the light is where you belong. The light is where ALL humans belong, no matter who they are or what they've done. Because make no mistake, Sephiroth, you're a human. Nothing and no one can take that from you, no matter what they have done or will do to your body. You are a human. A man. A person. Lovable, worthy, and good. Start acting like it, and keep yourself safe in the process. Please.
I'll write again. Every day, I'll write again. Until you come back to us. Until you're safe and at peace. Because you're worth the effort. You're worth hoping for. And you're worth feeling pain for, if those hopes don't pan out.
Your friend, Lumine

I'll send it in as an ask bc replying in tags is too much of a hassle now, bit basically it was one of the best doctor/rose fics i've ever read, and i failed to save it and now i can't find it anywhere no matter how hard i try. Worst thing is, i can't even remember if o read it in English or in Russian, i was so invested in the story and the writing was so organic the language kind of melted away, it was projected directly into my brain. It had a motiff with stargazing and images you see on the Moon, so i think it was rpobably called something like Moon Rabbit, but there's nothing on ao3 with that title.
It starts with Rose and Ten golfing (i think) somewhere in space, and it's early days for Ten so Rose didn't have time to adjust to the change so she's a bit apprehensive and keeps trying to see Nine in him and it was all tied up into the Moon imagery somehow? Suddenly she gets a call from Mickey telling her to come home asap and not tell the Doctor, so she does, and there's Nine (!) alive and well. They meet up in secret from Ten and he tells her that "no Rose wtf i didn't just transform into another dude, i was beamed away from the TARDIS and this one's an imposter (basically confirming all of her fears from just after the regeneration) and he's civil with Mickey? couldn't be me" (ok this part i might've imagined afterwards lmao, but it's basically right, he convinces Rose by perfecrly matching Nine's character, which, for Rose, is more Doctor-y than Ten ever was so the latter has to be the fake one right?)
There's this whole angsty thing about how she missed him and how hard it was for her to adjust to the regeneration, and the matter of trust was explored really well bc she doesn't really know who to trust like 70% of the fic, and then there's the Doctor (Ten, who's the real one obv) who is hurt by the fact that she would just go against him like that but he understands why she would do that, the dynamics and emotions were just *chef's kiss*
Turns out that "Nine" is a unique model of a TARDIS from the Time War so it can shapeshift and pretend better than other TARDIS's apparently and also read minds (that's how it's able to trick Rose). Also turns out that TARDIS's could be male or female (i wasn't with the author on this one) and this new TARDIS was male and our TARDIS was female, so when the dude learned that most of the TARDIS's were gone after the war he came to the conclusion that he had to breed to make new TARDIS babies? (i'm even less with the author here, but when i'm describing it it sounds even worse than i remember, it was much more elegant and i guess reasonable in the original text) Of course our TARDIS doesn't want that bc the process kinda sucks, i guess it was dangerous for her? i don't remember. But yeah, once the Doctor and Rose sort their thing out they have to hunt the dude TARDIS down and get rid of him. At the end he passes through time i guess and an early human glimpses him in the sky like a fallen star and comes up with a fictional story about a warrior and a maiden this warrior was chasing or something, and that's how humanity started making stories.
This fic is SO GOOD despite the weird bits, and i will forever be sad that i didn't think to bookmark it or something. I'll leave this here, firstly bc i think it answers some of the questions you might have and retelling is better than nothing, and secondly because maybe someone will see this post and recognise the fic - unlikely but i can't pass up this chance of finding it
Oh wow that sounds amazing! Mostly the trust part! It would be SO easy to make a companion doubt that the other is the Doctor when you can perfectly pose as an incarnation they know better. Because they're human and us humans, we like to cling to what we know. That concept is just - Idk I feel like it's slightly blowing my mind and now I really want to read this fic.
I agree on the TARDIS thing. In my mind it is uncommon for a TARDIS to have a gender at all. I believe 'our' TARDIS does have a gender but she just ran with it and picked one because the human strays kept going on about it. So her gender's basically 'she/her' - pronouns plus the colour blue with some mischief sprinkled in - or something; you know what I mean.
Plus, I am a tentative fan of the loom thing so if timelords already don't get 'born' I do not believe TARDIS-s would mate for reproduction at all. I would rather assume a TARDIS gets made when there's an imbalance in the space-time-continuum on the quantic level that gets augmented by randomly appearing resonance and then the moment the TARDIS appears it has always been existing since the dawn of time. Or something along those lines. Probably the process can be fabricated some way and timelords have perfected exploiting it. Like they do.
Not like I have been thinking much about TARDIS genders OR reproduction, tbh. In my mind they just are 🤷‍♀️
Anyway, apart from those points that fic sounds absolutely amazing and I think I would also love those moon metaphors. So if someone knows it and could send it to us, that would be great? <3
I also totally get the 'I have no idea what language this was in' feeling, I have that all the time. Not with dw fic though because so far I have read 1 work in German and 1 work in translated Russian and half a work in French and all the other times I strictly stick to English. It just works better in that language for me and there is an abundance of fic in English anyway :) We are so blessed to be in a huge fandom. Although a tiny one WOULD make finding your fic a lot easier.

I'm changing the format the previous one was in and adding this category instead of Inspiration because of the process of this.
So, when I was a baby writer, I started a story I called The Light at the End of the Tunnel (I got attached to the name but it was never perfect). It was one of the first things I wrote on a computer, and the first typed story I finished. Because of that it has always been important to me.
(gets longwinded so under the cut)
Anyway. It was even more edgy angsty than it is now. That story was about a kid named Cecil, who went through various torture methods at the hands of a group of torturers. His only friend was Mika, who cared for him and kept him relatively safe, as best she could. (I was like, 12, when I came up with this.)
From that grew some really good components: I learned how to write dark really well. I fell in love with betrayal and with secrets as plot elements. Terran became a character-- at the time, a twist that he was on their side, and a dip into exploring the pressure he was under for having to pretend. And, most importantly, the twist that Raymond, someone Cecil had only heard about, was alive. (There was also magic in this version, Mika always had emotions poers and Ramyond always had mental ones. But it was just there, not very salient, and no worldbuilding.)
Anyway. I finish that story. I celebrate in relief. I take a break, I work on other things. I take writing classes, I get practice. I rewrite it, mainly just tidying things up and adding some scenes. I develop Raymond and Terarn's romance more (that was there almost since the beginning, but fun fact-- I didn't originally intend it, it was my best friend who said she shipped them). I leave it. I write other things. I write a one-shot taking place after the events of the story that's just kinda fluffy, as fluffy as anything in this story can be. I write a full backstory, with everything that happened in the past. I leave it.
I go to college. I have other stories. I consider TLATEOTT an old draft I remember fondly but know is not very good. I miss parts of it. In a few sad moments, my girlfriend asks about stories to cheer me up, and I tell them about Terran.
I take an advancd writing class and we're supposed to start something new. She says, we can use old characters, but for the most part it has to be new. I brainstorm I try to pick other plots. It occurs to me-- what if I just take the good parts from TLATEOTT?
I go off memory. What was the good parts? How can I change it? I brainstorm. I come up with the magic system, with Calson City. I change it to assassins, as it does what I need it to and works better. I write down notes about Terran. I draw form everything I know already, applying it all to this new world and circumstances. A new story forms, where the twist halfway through is now the premise. I change what didn't make sense.
In all that, the one major thing that didn't fit? the original main character. R.I.P Cecil.
Preparation
I touched on this already-- I don't really have much research for this I usually have to look up things like how burn healing works and the laws regarding fire escapes and how hostage negotiations usually work. Most of my prep is worldbuilding and plot planning, and brainstorming ideas about what's gone down in the past. I have a notebook for brainstorming, which I try to copy into documents on my computer so it's easier to find.
Art Process
I don't have art but I do have a moodboard, playlist, and I've made picrews of the characters. Oh am um... my best friend did make fanart of the original. It doesn't make sense now, but it's fantastic.
Thoughts
I didn't say this about the process: first of all, it's on and off. I go though such long periods where i can't write more of this, can't figure out where it's going. But I'm gunna do this one. I know it. This is a big one for me, and my soul is in it.
Second, writeblr is a part of it. I decided to catch up on tags... and I might have enough inspiration to get back to writing it. seriously,it is unbelievable the amount of help it is to share snippets. especially when people reply to it.

Hello Darling 💜 Kinnporsche anon here!!! Have a good end of the week (we are getting closer to the news episode!!)
Oh I understand the pain, my uni is suppose to send us out result for the 1st of July, but I know that they are going to be late 😭 good luck!!
I kinda want to read the book too?? I am really curious to see how the book is! I'll probably start after the series though, so I can have more Kinnporsche after episode 14 😭 and I don't want to get sad bc my fav' moment is not put in the series! But at the same time, I want to read the part from episode 6 (let me be obsessed with this episode), I want to know what were going in their head, all the feeling, the realization, the confusion!! Especially when Porsche run back to Kinn!!
I don't know Kim seems to be the guys to run away from everything. But at the same, with Porsche saying that Chay want him to quit, I'm scared that it will be Chay to cut Kim off, you know him being scare of all the mafia stuff (and I wouldn't blame he just got kidnapped) . But, I could be great in term storyline. Kim accepting his feelings for Chay and ready to live in relationships with him, then boom the break up happens, then Kim wrote a lovesong for Chay and they make up!!
For Kinnporsche, I would love to have them asking each other to be boyfriend, or the first I love you!!! (I'm looking at you Kinn), no more angst, just two man in love!!!! Maybe some more date (again, looking at you Kinn)
I'm really impatient fro Vegaspete !!! They tease us for so long!!! Give them to us now!! I want to see Vegas break down for Pete, get on his knee for him!! Vegas is the characters who intrigue me the most, like why he is like this? What happen to him? What is his motor? Like, I feel we are going to learn so much about him during his act with Pete!!!
If they give us a whole serie of just Tankhun, I will never complain for the rest of my life 😭 he is top tier
Now BTS. I kinda see this coming from them? They need this break, and I'm so happy they are in a place where they could, you know, be honest with us and say '' we need to stop if we want this to continue ''. But I'm still little bit sad about it, like I'm going to miss them as a group. But we will have Run BTS, which I miss a lot!! And I feel like we are going to see them hang out together a lot :'). And we have solo project to be excited about!!! J-hope is, supposedly, the first one to release it, and I know he is going to deliver!! (but i' l scared, bc 1) I'm broke, and 2) I have no more place in my room to stock the album 😭). And like you said, It's a good time to catch on some other group!! 🥰 (NCT is pulling me in their fan base 😭)
Oh did you find any cute stuff on Ali?? 🤗 I care, if you want to tell me about it, please go ahead!!!
Yeah, I love my new identity 🥰 see you soon!! 🥰
Hi darling!!! how are you? hope everything is fine!! We are having a heat wave and I'm dying 🥵🥵🥵 my favourite season is winter so imagine this is hell for me lmao
It's finally Friday so only some hours left until we'll have a new episode!!!! Yessss I'm so excited 🎉🎉🎉 can't wait!!! I so curious about VegasPete!!! like is going to be intense!!!
I'm thinking on reading the book after the series is over too!! I want to know all the differences and like you to have more kinnporsche content!!
I think in the new episode we will have more about Vegas's father (can't remember his name lol it was Kan??) Also we still have the mystery about Porsche and Chay parents!!! like Kim, our detective is not doing his work instead he is falling in love hahaha
About BTS, I was expecting something when they announced the anthology and the video clip of 'yet to come' is kind of telling too! like the lyrics are so beautiful 🥺🥺 but I'm understand they wsnt to explore what they have out of the group!! can't wait for their solo projects or whatever they will do!! Also run bts!!! yey!! I love it!! 🥰🥰🥰 and as you said I can focus in other groups too!! I think The Boyz has a comeback a few weeks ago so yey!! also enhypen is always in tiktok page haha I need to fully stand them now lmao You mean NCT with all its unit or one in particular?? they are so many haha I still don't know all their names 🤫
Oh I found some cute stuff on ali!!
Tumblr media
this carrot cutter 💕💕
also some transparent notes!!!! and this bag for notes!!!
Look how cute is!!! 💜💜💜 I'll put them so I won't need to carry all in my backpack!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hope they will be at home soon!!!
I'm finishing a gifset! I'll upload it next! It's the bed scene!! I tried something new haha hope you like it!! also wanted to do the VegasPete but I think I'll wait until tomorrow's episode to have more material hahaha
See you soon!! to our weekly screaming and comment routine of KinnPorsche haha 💜💜💜 Mua Mua 😘😘

Earthbound Start!
Howdy, y'all! I'm back with another week's update! Though, this is more like a day 1 update.
For the past week, I've been relaxing, fighting a cold, and working. But how far have I gone with the project? Not far. I decided to spend this week watching retrospectives on Mother 1, learning more about its creation, impact, and interpretations. I've also been letting my thoughts on Mother 1 settle into something more concrete. In short: I stand by my earlier thoughts, and you can see those in my other posts.
Today, I have big news! I started Earthbound! Yesterday, I couldn't help myself and decided to start up the game. I stayed up playing it for a long time. I almost got sucked back in this morning but pulled myself out to give the week's update.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
As promised, we're doing a fruit theme, matching the veggie theme from last time. A few things about their names: I regret not naming Ness "Strawb" instead, but "Straw" has grown on me. Plus with his dog, it's team StrawBerry. "Bana" is obviously named after a banana, but I like pronouncing it the same as "Launa". "Apple" I named 'cause of his apple-green suit. I had no clue that there was an inventor kid in this game also named Apple. Maybe they're brothers or cousins? Lastly, Grape, I was running out of fruit ideas. I was tempted to name him "Cherry" after the shape of his head, but most of my internet handles are "CherryKeri" or something similar, so I went for Grape. No particular reason, but I do like grapes.
Tumblr media
Now for the elephant in the room: Giygas is back. Y'know, I figured he'd be in this game, but he got here faster than I thought. After making him have an emotional breakdown from hearing the song of his dead mom, I wonder how he's doing and what made him think it would be a good idea to come back.
As for Pokey, I had hopes for him at first. He's a bit of a jerk, but I could see a change arc for him in the future. Maybe... He kinda sucks, especially after he kidnapped Bana and said his honest apology was a lie. I wanna hit him with my baseball bat, but I'm getting ahead of myself.
Tumblr media
When Buzz Buzz died, I felt so many emotions. Anger and sadness obviously, laughter at the funny dialogue, a sense of purpose and bravery to continue my journey, and confusion at how that all happened so fast and from the mix of feelings.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Speaking of the dialogue, this game is hilarious. The tombstone ad in the hospital had me cracking up, and there are a bunch of little things like that all over the game! It really helps to make me want to explore and read every sign.
Tumblr media
After Buzz Buzz told me about how Giygas returned and it was my destiny to find some friends and kick his butt, I set out for Onett.
Tumblr media
The city was fun, but I kept noticing these trucks. It's funny how they used to be a serious enemy and now they're normal. A weird thing about them: I think they have set spawn locations. I was running around a lot and kept seeing them flicker on the edge of the screen. It's a very minor thing, my ADHD just kept focusing on it.
While I was in Onett, I also found out a bunch of new features that are a huge improvement over Mother 1. First off, when I find items in the wild, it lets me have the option of dropping an item from my bag; in the first game, the random encounters would just not drop things if my bag was full. Second, when I buy armor or weapons and equip them at the store, it instantly gives me the option to sell my old items. It's such a small thing, but it makes the whole game smoother and faster pace.
A difference that I wish they kept is the run button, walking is a bit too slow for me. I think I'm getting used to it, but the run button made backtracking a lot better.
Tumblr media
Since I was in town, I decided to defeat an evil gang. They had a key needed to get the first melody, and they were causing trouble for everyone. So I fought Franky and his Battle Franky Mark II. It was actually not too bad of a fight; I two-shot him with a SMASH and a regular bash.
Tumblr media
Going into the caves, I unlocked my signature move: PSI Juice! I didn't think this was how they'd use my "Favorite Thing" but I think it fits pretty well! I like to imagine I'm hitting them with so much power, that I'm wringing the juice out of them, like in a Tom and Jerry cartoon. I mostly used the move for big hits and for crowd control.
Tumblr media
First Melody nabbed, and I think I'll mention it now. The plot of this game, so far, is very similar to Mother 1. Mother 1: Collect the melodies and some friends to defeat Giygas. Mother 2: Collect the melodies and some friends to defeat Giygas. It's the same, except the details were changed. Mother 1: Queen Mary lost her memory and only the melodies can restore it, but the melodies are being used by aliens to do evil deeds like restoring the dead. By making friends and doing good deeds, you gain the magic music of love, and with this, you restore Queen Mary's memories and then face the one behind it all: Giygas. So far, there is no Queen Mary in this game. In Mother 2: Giygas has returned and Buzz Buzz goes back in time to stop him before it's too late. He asks for your help and you go out to make friends and collect the melodies, the magic music that can defeat Giygas. The only things that are similar in these plots are the melodies and Giygas being the big baddie, but I think that makes sense. Only love can defeat evil. Though, I am curious about one thing: how are the melodies here? Is it the same song?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Anyway, back on the road. I got more funny dialogue with the cops and man, these guys suck. I know this game is from Japan and made in the 90s, but I can't tell if this is pro-cop or anti-cop. I wanna say anti-cop, cause they fight you and everything, but the game doesn't treat them like full-blown antagonists.
On my way to Twoson, I got mushroomed. It was fine at first cause I didn't have any party members to accidentally hit, but then my controls got weird. Luckily, I was in town already when that started, so it became a fun little challenge to get to the hospital.
Tumblr media
Hey so quick question: What's with the blue guys? No, not the cult, the guys that attack you in cities? Are they zombies? Drunks? Crazy people? All of the above? They're really weird. I kinda wish they weren't here, cause it makes the cities, a plan of safety in the first game, not so safe anymore.
As for those other blue guys, I don't like them. They kidnapped Bana to sacrifice? Wtf? I got geared up and went over there- I got stopped by a pencil... Well, I went back and got a Hint. I love these by the way, I think I'll be using hints when I get stuck from now on. In Mother 1, I had to use a walkthrough, but they risked spoiling me or making it too easy.
Okay, so the hint told me about the inventor kids. Other people told me about them, but I didn't think they were important and their inventions seemed expensive. I bit the bullet and donated 400 dollars and a cookie to them. Orange gave me his item and I went back- It didn't work...
When I got back through the cave, Red Apple called me and told me to meet with him. I don't know if it was a timed event after paying him, or if I accidently did the right thing by going to the pencil and trying Orange's bomb. Either way, I ran to Red Apple and got the Eraser. NOW, I made the trek.
Tumblr media
This area was scary, with all sorts of dangerous enemies, colds, and twists and turns. Somehow, I made my way through even though the Blue Cult broke the first bridge.
Tumblr media
In Happy Village, I fixed up my gear and did a little leveling up. This town is a little weird though. I mean in how they treat you at first, it's kind of the perfect representation of a cult. Most members are welcoming and subtly trying to make you join. The more extreme members notice you're a stranger who doesn't want to join, so they attack you. It's creepy. There's paint in their river, and even the cow was convinced!
Worse yet, I was getting homesick. That status condition wasn't in Mother 1, so it's brand new to me. It's very annoying, but I guess I just gotta call Mom regularly now? I thought it was cause there was something in the paint, but I think it's just a timed thing.
Tumblr media
What a SHOCKING fight! It was actually pretty fun! Most of his attacks didn't hurt me much, so I just wailed at him with Bashes and Juices. A small detail upped the creepy factor though: the statue. Earlier in the game, I went to X. Agerate's house and he took me to the statue he found. I think this might be the same one! How did it get here? These people know it's dangerous now, but it's not destroyed, so what'll happen to it? I want to break it to bits just to be safe!
Tumblr media
Two gangs down and I rescued Bana! She had been sending messages in my dreams. The people of Twoson missed her so much, but the cult had treated her horribly. Of course, I had to save her after all that! It's clear to me that she'll be like Potato(Ana) from Mother 1, but I wonder if her Bashes will be stronger or if she'll get even greater spells. Her learning set and how much damage her spells do are different from Potato, so I have some learning and training to do.
Tumblr media
I thought I'd go through the cave while I was there, so I used it as a place to level up Bana. She's now level 15 while Straw is level 21, so the gap is shrinking! Her Teddy Bear helped a lot, it's a great tool for training! I also learned a neat change from Mother 1 that I love!
Say you were fighting two Mega Borg in Mother 1 and you target everyone on the first, leaving the second free from damage on that turn. You'd do that because they're tough so you know you need to take it down with multiple hits. But surprised! Someone landed a SMASH, so it goes down easy. Now your party is wasting PP and time just attacking the air while the second Mega Borg is completely fine! Quite the hypothetical, but it happened to me a lot in Mother 1. Well, they fixed that! Now, if an enemy fails, your characters will instantly target the other one. This is a feature that Pokemon also has. It's very convenient and makes the fights faster-paced.
Tumblr media
We'll end this week's update with the Second Melody! I'm not sure what this is supposed to be, a Hat Trail?
So far, I'm loving this game! I had a great time with Mother 1 and this is so much better! I can't forget to mention the amazing music and sprite art, a huge improvement that many might not notice right away. I found myself a few times just walking around, looking at how pretty everything is.
I'm shocked at how much I've done in just a day! This was all last night! All I did this morning before stopping to make this post was leave Happy Village and get back to Twoson. Next, we'll be going to Threed. I'm not sure what my journey has in store, but I'll see you down the road.

In typical dramatic fashion I am back on tumblr trying to heal my inner teenager with the things I once loved in order to find my way back to myself and out of a spiral of existential crisis.
Its been ten years since I’ve typed out anything on this website and posted it.
That is until now.
I’m really looking forward to a new chapter in my life dedicated to selfishness and going after what I want in this life. I’m finally making a soft lifestyle for myself that’s free of unnecessary stress and trauma. I’m healing myself from the years of survival mode I have been put into.
I want to just focus on myself and what I need to become more fulfilled.
I made it through a lot of really cloudy days on my own volition and I want to turn the corner and make more beautiful memories for myself. I need more self exploration.
You kind of came out of nowhere. And I feel like I just got hit by a ton of bricks. When I met you in that bar tonight I knew exactly what we were gonna talk about. I knew this was going to happen. I’ve been thinking about it for days after we worked together.
When you walked behind the bar Friday night I knew it was over for me. That was the first time my heart fluttered a little bit over you. I know this feeling. This is the beginning of an unanticipated crush. But this time it has to be different. I’m wondering what kind of lesson I’ll have to serve for this encounter.
But when you showed up today, it deepened just a little bit more. I got quieter around you. I avoided talking to you for most of the game. Partly because I didn’t want anyone making the assumption that I even have conversations with you. These people won’t stay out of my business. And partly because I didn’t think you were going to come and it caught me off guard. But what I really wasn’t anticipating was me feeling kinda sad that you left.
So I did it. I texted you. We met up at a bar. And that’s when I knew this was going to be interesting. For the first time in a long time, someone was asking questions about me. And I was practically foaming at the mouth to tell you these things.
I felt a lot of genuineness from your reactions to the things I was telling you and how I felt. It felt like a weight had been lifted from my chest. I got to tell you things that’s been weighing on me for about a year that I have processed but never got to unload. I quietly carried my burdens, compartmentalized it all and buried it in my heart. But today you asked me to dig it all up.
And not in a way that was inquiring for the sake of knowing, but you truly wanted to hear my side in order to make an informed decision on your end. To see what the fuck was going on in my head. To understand the pathology of it all. I really enjoyed the way you navigated that. For the first time in a long time I felt very seen. It was very emotional and empowering.
Today I learned that I can be understood through the lens of someone who hasn’t gone through what I have without judgement. Empathy can beget empathy as is. It doesn’t have to come from a place of pain.
And then I realized I wanted to kiss you. And I knew that you probably did too. But I knew you weren’t going to. And I wasn’t either. And I’m okay with that. I’m very happy that we didn’t. I’m happy that there isn’t expectation tied to this interaction. It made me like you a lot more.
So we hugged goodbye after three hours of talking and I walked away, got into my car and yelled “fuck” to myself as I started my car. I didn’t think this was going to happen. But my crush deepened just a little bit more.
It feels good. But I’m also not ready to dive in. So I hope that I can keep this up and begin to really learn about you and have a friendship. I hope you keep impressing me.
