Asking you about your ska troll concept! They look so cool and I would love to learn more about them

@shadow-ray4 thank you for asking, genuinely was positive that no one would ask 😅😣 but I am HAPPY to share! To start here are the full refs I've done so far and explain as much of the concept as I've developed in my brain lmaooo (ALL MAJOR DEETS undercut cause its gonna be LONG)

@goldendaydna also helped with this and lowkey a concept we are semi working out since her sona Golden Tempo is an Urbano Troll (a recently named concept lol)

Ska Trolls are Big, Bright, and BOLD. Together, these elements create an energetic, highly danceable, highly vibe-able troll genre. They also explode into confetti and confections when excited or surprised. Dont worry they pop back up as if nothing even happened leaving a pile of candy and crepe paper on the ground. (Ska trolls are super popular with the kids.) They practically live for the music, known for dancing for several days straight with hardly a rhyme or reason to stop.

*Like even the smallest of surprises just make em POP! (Bonus Branch doodle cause why not??)

Adara, my sona, is a 4th Generation Ska Troll (her father being a 3rd Gen while her mama is a punk rock troll) so TECHNICALLY shes Ska-punk, but she still has the appearance of your standard Ska Troll so it's more a music specific.

Her great great grandparents being a reggae leaning funk troll and a rocksteady leaning funk troll who formed The Underground after being seemingly left behind along with other alt/subgenres of the main 6 kingdoms when they split. A place for alternative trolls like herself and her friends could live and PARTY HARD without micro judgments against their music. It's a haven for other trolls who feel they dont quite fit a specific genre or even one at all, but also HELLA secluded from the rest of the Trolls so they look different and SOUND different. (Cave acoustics and all) The surface likely gets trimmers and even earthquakes from their raging parties. (I'm still fleshing this out but I have this piece of "concept art")

*Its literally a bioluminescent shroom town. Like glowing mushroom homes, food, ect- glow worms on the cave ceiling like stars in a night sky. All the various alternative genre of trolls have like a glowy eye thing that allows them to just see naturally in the dark too-

*these were some posters I took heavy color influence from for Adara's pallet (I know they arent all ska, but punk, reggae, and rocksteady aesthetics were an addition)

Obviously I took most inspo from pinatas, party/confetti poppers, and the sorts mainly because the funk trolls poop...well. baked goods and I wanted to play off that but lean into the crazy evolution the trolls have canonically in the universe that foam at the mouth for 👀 🤲 But I wanted to make sure her colors and patterns gave off not just Funk influence, but also micro subculture influences that are within The Underground. (This including but not not limited to, how closely Ska Trolls were to the Urbano Trolls communities within The Underground)

*Exchanged tassels and stringy fur textures for more paper textures. Like literally walking, talking, breathing pinatas fr

*Queen Essence I love yuuuu

They are bigger than the average Funk troll and have very similar features to them, but texture and color wise are very different. They much more vibrant and staturated. Giving a mix of felt and crepe paper. They have tails as sortve as an evolutionary trait but also it gives maximum party mode as it can hold objects and act as an extra hand. Their ears are also longer and slimmer, making it harder for them to lift or perk up so they stay droopy unlike their funk counterparts. They are all naturals at brass instruments (mainly trumpet) and ALWAYS have a hop in their step.

my masterlist / this is a part two to 'magic hour'

it had been five months since her trip to cancun.

the main reason she hated going on vacations was exactly this, the sad realization that she had to return to her normal routine after living her best life only for a few days. it was sad.

the hardest part was saying goodbye to charles. three days with him were not enough.

that was also why she was apprehensive to let herself be free and try new things. when she liked something, or someone, she did it with her whole being. she wasn’t one to do things halfway, she committed every cell of her being into it. it was difficult when things ended. 

their last day together was one she’d always remember. he picked her up early, way too early to be awake. but, he wanted to see the sunrise with her, and wanted to spend as much time with her as possible. their time was limited, so they had to make the best of the minutes and hours they still had left. they went down to the beach, watching the sun making its way up, through the calm waves of the clear water in front of them. she was sitting in front of him, his legs on either side of her, her back against his chest, his arms around her protectively. he’d noticed small goosebumps on her skin, so he leaned in closer, giving her the warmth she needed. his heart skipped a beat at the soft sigh she let out as she snuggled her cheek against his arm. 

next, they walked to a restaurant near the hotel. at some point during their walk, charles grabbed her hand, lacing their fingers together, all while keeping his eyes ahead. his clammy hands gave away his nervousness, though. she chuckled to herself, holding on a little tighter, letting him know she wanted this, she was okay with it. 

the rest of the day was spent sharing knowing glances and soft touches. as they ate, his arm was around her chair, the pads of his fingers against her back, her shoulder. as they walked through crowds of tourists, one of his hands would be holding her own, whilst the other one was on her waist. at night, as they watched a firework show, she slid her arms around his waist. the air wasn’t chilly, but it was enough for the thin dress she was wearing. he took that as his sign to envelop her in his arms, placing a kiss to the top of her head as they watched the bright, colorful dots light up the sky.

just as they had all day, they walked back to the hotel hand in hand. their faces were flushed and hair was a mess from having been up since before dawn, but they were inside an invisible bubble where only the two of them existed, and they didn’t care about anything or anyone else. as they entered they reached her floor, he walked out of the elevator first, but she suddenly stopped in her tracks. there had been an ache inside her chest when she first woke up, that had vanished throughout the day. but now that the end was near, so close she could almost touch it, it became impossible to ignore. 

“what’s wrong?” he asked, standing in front of her, he lifted a hand, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.

“i don’t… i don’t want to say goodbye just yet.” she whispered. her eyes were slightly glossy as she stared up at him. “i want more time,” she begged.

“it’s okay,” he whispered, his hands holding her face gently. “i wish we could have more time as well.” 

“distance sucks,” she tried to smile, but the tears in her eyes revealed her true feelings. 

“i’m right here, i am still here,” he told her. “i’m not going anywhere,”

“promise?” she asked, “just for tonight… will you stay with me?”

“of course. i’ll stay until you get sick of me, until you’re begging for me to leave you alone for at least five minutes,” he pressed his lips against her temple, hearing her sigh.

“i don’t want to say goodbye,” she repeated, a part of her wanted to be mad at herself for allowing herself to get close to him, to be foolish enough to open her heart to someone she could not have.

“then don’t,” he whispered against her ear. “let’s not say goodbye tonight.”

he took her to his room. thanks to a friend that had bailed at the last minute, charles had a room all to his own. he led her to the bed, sat her down on the bed, that was still messy from when he slept in it the night before, since he’d hung the ‘do not disturb’ sign on the doorknob. he handed her one of his shirts and a pair of shorts so she could change. she walked to the bathroom, shaking her head at her reflection. the adventures of the day were clearly visible on her messy hair, her skin affected by the sun. she splashed some water on her face, drying it with a towel she found by the sink, and got her hair out of the way. she wanted to hurry up, didn’t want to waste the little time she had left with charles.

as she stepped out, charles was ready for bed, too. he heard the click of the door as she closed it behind her, he raised his head, a smile making its way onto his face instantly.

“hey,” he whispered, letting out a deep breath.

“hi,” she said, taking a step towards him. he did as well, meeting halfway. “i have to be up early,” she reminded him.

“i’m a light sleeper,” he told her, “i’ll set an alarm,” he placed a hand on her waist.

“okay,” she nodded, one of her arms went to his neck, playing with his hair, “i don’t want to say goodbye,”

“then don’t. come with me, back home,” he said, leaning his head closer to her. she smiled.

“i can’t. we both know i can’t. and i can’t be upset, because you’re not mine. not mine to have or to lose. but i don’t want to say goodbye.”

“it doesn’t have to be a goodbye,” he tilted his head, pressing his lips against her cheek, “it can be a see you later. we can make plans to see each other, somewhere, sometime.”

“i’d like that,” she gave him a small smile.

charles’ lips went up from her cheek to her temple, he wrapped his arms around her, like he’d done all day, but this time felt different. they didn’t have a whole day anymore, they had hours left together. 

“thank you for these past few days,” she mumbled against his neck.

“i would like to give you many more days like this, if you let me,”

“i would love that,” the corners of her lips tilted upwards, but her eyebrows settled in a frown. 

“it’s a plan, then,”

“okay,” she nodded, leaning her head back. she looked into his green eyes, stared at his face, the flushed cheeks and red nose, she wanted to memorize every part of his face. she didn’t know when or if she would see him again, so she wanted to remember him like that, soft and gentle and caring, loving and attentive and perfect.

she snapped out of her daydream, the voice announcing that the plane was landing in nice, france was loud enough to catch her attention, although, thinking back to the happiest days of her life was not an unusual occurrence, it’d become part of her daily routine by that point. it was pathetic, she knew that, but she hadn’t felt happiness like the one she felt back in that piece of heaven on earth.

she looked to her right, where her friend, helen, was sitting. it had been helen’s idea to go to france. and as much as she wanted to stay home, helen wasn’t taking a ‘no’ for an answer. it was stupid to say that after catching feelings for a stranger back in cancun, she became afraid of traveling. she didn’t want to admit it, but that was the truth. but after much debate, she caved in, and there she was, landing on france. she knew she was close to charles, which made the whole trip ten times worse. 

“we’re going to have so much fun this weekend,” helen said, nudging her shoulder, (y/n) gave her a small smile. they made the way down the airplane, walking inside the airport to collect their bags. after they secured their luggage, they walked to a car rental service. the airport was crowded, there were people all over the place, so she stayed close to the desk as they waited for the keys. 

she grabbed her phone, sending a quick text to her family, saying she was okay. a small voice in her head told her to text charles, tell him that they were just a couple hours away from each other, but she was interrupted by her friend.

“let’s go!” she smiled, and together they walked out of the airport, finding the car that would be theirs for the weekend. once they settled in, she sat on the driver’s seat, with helen by her side. she wasn’t the biggest fan of planes, so driving made her feel a little bit better, more grounded. they put on music, a fun playlist to get their moods up for all the adventures they’re going to have that weekend. “okay, i know i said we were going to have a fun, chill weekend here,” helen starts, (y/n) nods, “but… i just- i know how much you’ve missed charles,” it takes everything in (y/n) not to slam her foot on the brake, she eyes helen, who has a guilty look on her face, “we’re going to see him.”

“you’re kidding,” she says.

“no. listen, i have it all figured out,” helen starts, grabbing her phone to read her plan, “we’re going to drive there, we’re staying with rob,” she could practically hear the smile on helen’s face as she mentioned charles’ friend, the one she’d met back in cancun, the one who introduced her to charles. she didn’t know whether to hate him or thank him. “and we’re going with him to the grand prix,”

“the what? where?”

“in monaco. it’s charles’ home race,”

“fuck,” she whispered, looking at helen, “i don’t know if i can-”

“yes, you can. listen, i’ve seen you moping around for this guy more than i ever have. i know you try to bury those feelings down deep, but it’s not okay. so we’re going there, you’re going to see him again, and you’re not going to let him go.”

“but what if- what if he’s already found someone else?” she asks, thinking out loud.

“he hasn’t. i promise you, he hasn’t. and if he has, i’m sure he’ll drop whoever it is just to be with you.”

truth is, despite the fact that her and charles had exchanged numbers and other ways to communicate despite the distance, she hadn’t made much effort to get in touch with him. she thought it was dumb, because there was no point in getting even more attached to someone she simply couldn’t have.

but as she stood in front of a room with his name on it, inside the ferrari motorhome in glamorous monaco, the fear turned into something else.

she knocked twice, but the sound was barely perceptible, so she did it again. she waited, with her heart pounding inside her chest. she waited, and felt a knot in her throat as the door swung open. 

he was standing on the other side of the door, wearing a red polo and jeans. his eyes went wide as he recognized her, a face he hadn’t been able to forget since they said goodbye that morning back in december.

“wh- how…” he mumbled, a deep breath leaving his lungs quickly, his chest heaved as he took one in, “how- you-” he continued. (y/n) parted her lips to speak, but was left with the words inside her throat as charles pulled her in. he closed the door, wrapped his arms around her and pulled her close. “you’re… here…” he said, leaning his head back to look at her. she did the same.

he looked just the same. his hair was a little longer, though. but the spark in his eyes was just the same.

“you- you never called or…”

“i know,” she whispered, swallowing the lump that had been inside her throat since she arrived in the small country of monaco. “i know, i-”

“was it… me? or…”

“no! no, god no. i… it was me, i- i couldn’t… i couldn’t risk it,” she said.

“risk… what?” he asked, lifting his hand to caress her cheek. she’d missed his touch. it had been too long since they’d been away from each other, the time they’d spent together was not enough.

“i’m not…” she paused, “good at this. i don’t- i don’t let people in because i’m afraid they’ll leave. i don’t like getting attached, or get my hopes up only to end up disappointed. i can’t risk another goodbye.”

she said, and charles listened. he knew she was in a delicate position at that moment. there was no doubt that her feelings for him were exactly the same as what he felt for her.

“i told you,” he started, he kept his voice soft and gentle, “we don’t have to say goodbye. not back there in december, not today. not ever. it doesn’t even have to be a ‘see you later’ either.”

she stayed quiet, staring up at him. his eyes reflected the sincerity in his voice, in his words. 

"i have traveled all around the world, seen the most beautiful places you could ever think of. yet nothing, nothing compares to what i felt the moment i saw you. you were reading a book, lying on a lounge chair by the pool, and i just thought you were so… cool. i knew i wanted to get to know you. even before we were introduced in the boat, i was already enthralled by you.” her breath got caught in her chest as charles spoke, “i haven’t stopped thinking about you since we said,” he smiled before continuing, “see you later,” she smiled at that as well, “at the hotel.”

“neither have i. but i-”

“i know. i understand your fears and worries, but all i’m asking is for one chance. give me this weekend, or however long you’re staying here, to show you that i’m all in. i want this, i want you,”

“i want you, too.” she whispered, the words were barely audible, but he heard.

“one chance. give me one chance,”

“okay.”

Can I vent? Imma vent. I had to ask my friends to hold off on playing story modes bc we had planned out the night to play together. (I bought snacks.) Hell, I even received a gift card from how much I've been ranting about the lore that's about to drop. I got a tad bit upset I wasn't able to buy the pack (I'm a Cassidy main, the horror.).

I'm whining aren't I? Probably. But besides that, when we were playing role queue, I realized that,

Cassidy, Sojourn, Genji, etc. All have some new voicelines in queue, and I'm shook. Lol. Shook.

I have a feeling you'll be reviewing them soon, so I would love to know your analysis on them. Lol.

Ok so these are all the interactions I've found so far, so please tell me specific combinations if you remember. Some of them could also be phrased wrong but what I write is the gist of what they're saying. Also I'm leaving out Illari's voicelines for a separate post.

Cassidy: Things might get tricky out there, can I count on you to watch my back? Genji: Of course, you are like a brother to me. Cassidy: You told me about your family... not sure if that's a complement.

Genji: You haven't slept Cassidy: Yeah, was up all night thinking about who we used to be Genji: I like to think about the good times Cassidy: Hey yeah, there were some good times!

Cassidy and Genji being a sibling dynamic is something I didn't expect but I do like that the writing team finally confirmed they were close in Blackwatch. This is something that is going to be it's separate post but some things I like is Genji taking notice of Cassidy's bad habits in present time, something I don't think he could do back when he was first with Overwatch. Also this somewhat confirms my theory that Cassidy was the only member of Blackwatch Genji stayed in contact with. Something that catches my eye though is that Cassidy seemingly forgot there were some good times in Blackwatch, probably because he's pesemistic but is is interesting in context to how he talks about Deadlock, only ever talking posotivly about it.

Ana: Is Fareeha getting enough rest in between missions?! Mercy: Ana... Your daughter is more than capable of caring for herself Ana: She never napped when she was little, she was cranky all the time. Pharah: Mom! Everyone can hear you!

This would be cute if it wasn't for the fact that we have another voice line with Torb that has Pharah refusing to rest. Again this is another post coming up but I think this shows that Angela doesn't really know Pharah as well as Pharah knows her. Pharah made an accurate judgement on what Angela was thinking when she joined up with the others in Paris, she also corrected herself by realizing she shouldn't have expected a goodbye from Angela because Ange is bad at goodbyes. Meanwhile Angela makes the incorrect assumption that Pharah is getting enough rest when we know form other interactions that it's not true. Again this is something I'm going to fully dive into in another post so I don't want to spoil much here.

Can I just ask why people see the need to view the Uchiha as a completely different race to the rest of Konoha? Like, comparing them to poc and saying that it's the same situation???

And don't get me wrong, I personally think the Uchiha are rly cool and Def should've been treated better, but the thing is, they also did some dumb shit to get themselves penalized. (Am I using that correctly???)

Like.. The Uchiha police force was confirmed and said to have been corrupted. (if u wanna play the Uchiha as POC, then maybe look at the fact that they're also police who r corrupted, like actual police who r corrupted, obv not all but u get my point right?)

I can't remember who said this, (if ur the one who made this point originally, pls comment on this post so I can properly give credit pls and ty) but the Uchiha and Senju were clans that are essentially the same, the main difference being appearance and also the fact that Uchihas have the Sharingan while the Senju and other clans don't.

For eg: The Uchiha have a more homogenized black hair, pale skin, and dark coloured eyes, while Senju appearances have more varieties (from what I can tell)Indra and Ashura Otsutsuki were BROTHERS.

They're not different races. If you asked me, I'd probably say that a good chunk of currently active shinobi clans are probably indirect descendants of Ashura or Indra. (Most likely Ashura since the it would give other clans a chance to develop their own signature jutsu)

Also, it's really insulting to compare an anime situation where the author just kinda bs and brought in characters who's only role was to move the plot forward, to real life problems that POC experience. (I am not a person of colour, but I am someone who has been made fun of being Asian, [that's not important rn])

with that out of the way i guess if you didn't know already lol !! they are my podcast ocs !!! i'm in the works of creating a horror <3 podcast that takes place in an amusement park with 5 main characters and a god <3

so this post here explains a lot about the main characters personalities and stuff and the tags #brickwoods and #bap on my tumblr have some other posts related to the crew <3 recently i've been doing some extra stuff for fleshing out their families who will eventually be showing up in podcast and i can do a quick over view of them here tho <3

oh and not necessarily crew related but the length of podcast <333 imma ramble about that for a sec <3 so season 1 is going to be all amusement park stuff and the last episode of that season will be a major plot point/death (sorta setting the darker/more dramatic scene for s2) s2 is also amusement park shenanigans however now that the stakes have been raised the rest of the cast is pretty scared now yk. but they have still their motivations for wanting to get out and so <3

s3 is going to be after our final girl rebecca escapes the park and tries to a) sorta solve why that happened in the first place (why them. who is the god etc etc) and b) try to give closure to the others families so yeah. plus some other plots things yk <3

and then s4 will most likely be rebecca trying to stop/take down the cult because she doesn't want something like this to happen again and the ending is in workshop <33 (aka i can't decide between like. a couple possible endings i have planned but main plot won't change despite which one i eventually choose :))

okay so back to the crew lol <33 since that other post explains a lot of basic stuff about them feel free to ask specific questions about them now that you have info about them <3 but for now family time !!!

so david <3 ae is an only child with 2 moms, they are very sweet and amazing and extremely Extremely heartbroken when david never comes home after the park and stuff. they definitely had like plans for college visits and they had a car ready for when david was going to get aer license. the two of them are going to be pretty sad to write for in s3 i think but also i love them as characters (i was posting about them like last week lol they are very cute and fun when they arent sad </3)

hmm sophia's family <3 so her dad was born into the cult when it was a bit less strict (he was 'home-schooled' by the cult but also was allowed out bc his family is a main influential family) and her mom married in. they aren't the nicest parents by a long shot, and they only respect sophia because she became the leader. sophia does have a sibling however she doesn't know about them bc their parents kept them separate in order not to 'taint' sophia's godly touch

rebecca's family doesn't have too much going on, it is also an only child and her parents have been active in her life, not as great/caring as davids parents yet not uncaring either. rebecca really just lived with them her whole life and doesn't totally feel like it connected with its parents in any important way tbh

sunni ! so sunni grew up with only his mom and his sister and after the incident with carter (wait did i tell yall that was her name yet. thats the mutual best friends name in case i Didnt say that already <3) sunni's sister Mary ended up moving out with a friend and not keeping in touch with sunni or their mom again. she also changed her last name as soon as she legally could. but yeah so sunni doesn't have a very close relationship with his mom either and he has no relationship with his sister anymore which upests him a lot but he also keeps this close to him

and blair <3 so blair has 2 brothers (twins age 10 (i think)) named ben and bruno (named by My twin siblings so) and their parents are pretty bad. blair is very protective of their younger brothers and has been trying for a while to save up enough to move all of them out but hasn't quite yet. they fight really hard in the park to try and get out because they do not want to leave their brothers with out someone else to help and be there with them.

and i think thats it for a basic run over of all their families and the characters in general a bit <3 :)) feel free to ask any questions based on this post, the last post or like. literally anything <33 they are my passion project and i love BAP sooo very much <3

Long post request: how do you feel about BG3?

I didn't realize a new patch came out on final fantasy for about a week because Baldur Gate o Baldur Gate

currently in act 3 and trying to stock up on shit since I recently cleared out the bank. I'm TRYING to hold myself to not starting a new character until I finish this one but I see so many monk items and i want themmmmm (I have a half elf monk open in character creator right now)

Since I played a lotttt of dragon age origins, parts of the structure of bg3 felt very familiar to me like the camp itself and like how u interact with the companions. Like coming home in a way.

I'm also playing 5e a lot so that part of the structure of it was very easy to adapt to. I do still have trouble with like certain interface things like oh man gotta select the version of the spells BEFORE TARGETTING NO GALE WHY ARE YOU RUNNING TO THEM GET BACK HERE WHY ARE YOU HITTING THEM WITH YOUR 8 STRENGTH BACKED STICK

But its great and I do like the changes made to better facilitate it being a VIDEO GAME. Like I'm a Divination Wizard. My main Thing is portent dice. (There's also detect thoughtsing my way through all social encounters which is SO GREAT honestly scratches an itch I've always wanted to do but it would be such a pain in the ass for tabletop. Like first first ever dnd character I cooked up was an illiterate mind reading sorcerer that like got by through just that. But that would be so annoying to do with like.... PEOPLE AT THE TABLE of like 'so im just constantly getting ur surface thoughts...... i can't entirely control this... i'm sorry....' )

ANYWAY portent dice!!!!! in bg3 they have it at level 6 you fulfill little prophecies to get ur dice back to make the big boss miss their BIG attack or make SURE you hit (or my favorite, make the rogue crit on a sneak attack) instead of having it that when u cast a divination spell u get a spell slot back. since theres so few divination spells especially like using IN COMBAT so I understand the change.

I also like the variety of shit you can do. like my partner is one to summon 9 creatures btw the whole party so theres a small army of creatures following their main party. (also several buffed with mage armor and everyone has a higher level aid cast on them so they also have a decent amount of health its really funni to watch) I like wrote off the summon guys moves because I just dont like to have extra guys usually.

Something I wish I did on my first playthrough tho was simply long resting more I think I fucked myself out of a lot of social link scenes in act 1 bc I straight up didn't rest enough. The game is like 'oh no time is ticking' but things aren't REALLY like that (cept for like... 2 instances I can think of) bc its a videogame and thats fine.

It WANTS you to use all your abilities and not be dum like me and just cantrip my way through most the first act 'just in case i need my slots later' why am i like this. both short and lone rest more and just use all your moves its FINE

speaking of social links and companions theyre all great. I love them all. I DO wish some things weren't like... romance locked it feels??? well more like you HAVE to reject them???? idk I had a scene with gale when he's like 'but we're not THAT close tho' and i felt bad bc like... I want to be wizard friends with you. I'm SORRY I'm so weak to both vampires and elves.

heard some shit about astarion having like so much content compared to all the other companions and man imma feel so spoiled on my playthroughs where i dont smooch the vampire. I do wish everyone else had more scenes too its a shame.

something about bg3 thats HILARIOUS to me personally is that its all like 'recruit allies against the cult' and in another irl campaign im in thats been in hiatus for years but I still hope to come back its REALLY similiar. Oh no a huge looming death cult threat to the city. oh no the city has its own fuckmess of bullshit to deal with. OH NO a shapeshifting killer. Anytime theres strong parallels to that campaign it sparks joy.

A few technical problems I've had tho were around switching characters in and out of the party. like in a building and I wanna run back to camp to tag in someone. Wait why are they on the roof????

Or I tag in someone and WHY ARE YOU CLIPPING THROUGH THE FLOOR? Tbh the game is so enjoyable I just sigh and say "Video. Game." out loud and load a save. Like the last time that was REALLY frustrating is when it just would NOT let me out of a restricted area like please I persuaded u 3 times let me go I was on my way OUT.

Also why do all these 8 strength men have abs. This is Wrong. I'm bad with figuring out the technical shit of modding but holy shit I need them to not have abs.

Anyway I had this and the character creator open for like 2 hours now so Imma start that now.

Saturday, Jan 20th || Return From Death

Heyyo, long time no talk. I mentioned very briefly at the beginning of the year that I was going through some shit but I think I'm starting my slow return to the living!

tl;dr, I had a major health crisis that has still left me unable to breathe correctly 20 days later. Day one of 2024 was spent in the ER and I hope that isn't setting a tone for the rest of the year

But that's besides the point! I want to return to writing! That's my passion! and even though I've been in the throes of imposter syndrome I know that I *can* return! So I'm gonna!! Starting next week y'all are gonna get Incorrect Eyes content, including an official intro post for the religious horror novella!

Before we get that far, though, I wanna tell y'all about a holiday project I didn't announce on tumblr: χεῖμα

χεῖμα is a cozy winter get-away to a cabin in the middle of the woods with the main cast of the Call Me Icarus series. Needless to say, it's not something I normally write. But I really needed something soft and happy, so that's what a wrote!

SUMMARY

In a different life, a different world, Icarus is invited for a winter holiday to Achilles' family cabin.

What ensues is a cozy tale of mischief and shenanigans as Icarus and company get snowed in and learn to love despite the annoyances and grievances that surround them.

Χεῖμα is a non-canonical short story set in what would ostensibly be our modern world with the main cast of Δάιος. This short story does not require you to read Δάιος, but it does assume familiarity with the characters.

And with that introduction, I wanted to let y'all know that this is a FREE story available on my itchio!!! And you can add it on GoodReads!!

Another important thing to note with this work is that there are two variations: the bell pepper edition and the chili pepper edition. They are same story with the exact same story line, but the chili pepper includes a sex scene and the bell pepper does not! So if you just want a cozy, pg-13 story, you can go with the bell pepper edition and if you want to read a scene where Icarus gets eaten out as an act of worship, then you can check out the chili pepper edition!

This time, when Icarus looks into the living room, he’s met with an even more heavenly sight than the fireplace: his family. Patroclus and Andromeda are sitting on the couch talking animatedly to each other while Thanatos is curled up in a chair to their left typing on his laptop. Achilles is flitting around a large tree in the back corner, twirling strands of orange slices and cinnamon on it. A warm and fuzzy feeling comes over Icarus as his gaze sweeps over everyone doing their own thing. This is his family, his home. He makes his way to join them, plopping down in the other unoccupied chair across from Thanatos. It’s only as he sits down that Andromeda looks over at him, smiling. “You came!” “Of course I did,” Icarus responds as he makes himself comfortable. “You had me kidnapped!” “I didn’t kidnap you,” Apollon says, spooking Icarus. He’s a lot closer than Icarus expected, leaning his hip against the side of the oversized chair Icarus is curled up in. “I showed up at your place and asked if you were ready to go. You willing got into my car. That’s not kidnapping.” “I think it counts,” Icarus grumbles, sinking further down into the chair.

Icarus wakes up the next morning bundled in blankets with a hand running through his hair. He groans, but does not move. This is heaven, right here curled up in an isolated cabin with his ex-best friend playing with his hair. “Good morning, Birdie. Sleep well?” All Icarus can do in response is shush him. He’s not ready to be awake, not ready to face whatever it is that’s going on between the two of them. Apollon laughs and his hand stills. “I didn’t want to wake you up, but Andromeda stopped by a bit ago and said they made lunch. Whenever you wanna get up, we can eat.” But Icarus doesn’t want to get up. Ever. This is his own personal paradise, he would rather eat glass.

One more?

“What happened, is everyone alright?” Apollon asks, his voice panicked as he slides into the view. Icarus can see the moment he realizes that everything is fine, the worry melts off his face and the tension in his shoulders drops. Icarus smiles up at him, dropping his hand as he says, “Yeah, I just came to wake Meda up.” “You fucking dick! You gave me a fucking heart attack!” they respond, throwing their pillow at the side of Icarus’ head. He catches it, the action reigniting his laughter at the situation. Maybe they were right. Maybe the one thing Icarus needed to do was just exist for once, let loose and breathe outside of the rebellion. As the day crawls by in cozy comfort, Icarus realizes that this is what he’s always wanted. A home.

Ah fuck it, one more to explain the pancake sticker:

As Icarus turns into the kitchen he finds his distraction: Achilles standing at the stove. The kid looks thoroughly distraught as smoke and a pungent burning smell rises from the pan in front of him. Without thinking, Icarus swoops in and grabs the pan before rushing to the front door and dumping the whole thing in the snow. “I see you tried to make breakfast,” he says, turning back towards the kitchen. Now that he’s not worries about the burning food, he can see that the kid got out all the ingredients to make pancakes. And man, do pancakes sound delightful. “Yeah, I uh,” Achilles says, his voice thick with emotion. “I wanted to make breakfast for everyone like you did yesterday.” “That sounds great, looks like you got all the stuff for pancakes. Why don’t we make another batch?”

Self-ship HCs

So for the people that don't know me at all, or know me well...I'm a whore for 4 different men and I know damn well one maybe two of them will kill me, one focuses on one thing, and the other overworks himself...

Anyways, so with my love of these four men imma say my self-ship headcanons for them.

Mr. Loverboy: Kakucho "Hitto"

-Kakucho is the type to be a service dom. He will make sure I am pleasured before him each and every day. Whether it is sexual or it is the small things around the house that will typically stress my out, he is there to make sure I don't go through it at all.

-Cooking with him is honestly the most relaxing part of the day. Cooking by myself was okay, but after I found out he can cook, the both of us cook while softly listening to a random playlist playing off one of our phones. Most of the time it's my phone.

-If I am at work or at school, he would bring me lunch, flowers, or anything that a "housewife" will do. If we happen to work in the same building then we are eating lunch together no exceptions. He makes sure I eat, it doesn't matter if I have to turn in that report at 12:30, he makes my health is the most important thing ever.

6 ft. tall and super strong: Ryuguji "Draken" Ken

-On the days I have no classes or I don't have to work, we take rides on his motorcycle. The drives can last until late evening or late at night. The main thing that won't happen is me driving it cuz that's his baby as well...

-Draken is also a service dom, but focuses a little bit more on his pleasure then mines on some days. My poor dragon..he forgets that he has a significant other to please as well poor thing.

-At work, Draken would pull a Nanami and stay until he finishes with the project at hand. I have to bring him lunch if I'm not busy with everything.

1. Yu Yu Hakusho ⭐️

THIS SHOW CHANGED MY BRAIN CHEMICALS. I CANT PROPERLY EXPRESS HOW MUCH I ABSOLUTELY FUCKING ADORE THIS CAST OF CHARACTERS. THAT LIL DUDE IN THE MIDDLE?? HIEI, THE LOVE OF MY LIFE, I ADORE HIM SO MUCH, HES SUCH A WONDERFUL CUTE TSUNDERE BASTARD. literally the main cast is full of characters with "contradicting" traits that just work SO WELL in making them interesting and fun

kuwabara (the one in blue) is a precious himbo, a very loud delinquent kid who loves to fight but has an honor code he will ALWAYS abide by and has a cute little kitten he adores!!!

yusuke (the one in green) is similarly a delinquent and, honestly, is more of an asshole LOL but he despite his rudeness he doesnt hesitate to put his life on the line for others!

hiei MY LOVE is The Edgy One and always acts like they rest in the group arent his friends but he always is there to help when hes needed and clearly worries for their safety 🥰 and he has a sister hes very sweet and protective over!!! and hes also just Full Of Trauma that i wont get into as more of his backstory is revealed later in the show. and hes just an absolute badass and really hot,,, (forces myself to move on or ill just ramble endlessly about him)

THEN theres hieis lover partner kurama (the red head, and my big kin!!!!), whos by far the sweetest of the 4, is a total mamas boy, BUT hes also a centuries old fox demon known for his thievery and cruelty and was changed when he was almost killed and had to transfer his soul into an unborn human child to stay alive, where his human mom's love changed him to be kinder :'3 (none of that is a spoiler really, this is info he literally states very soon after his introduction) but even though hes changed, hes still can be absolutely RUTHLESS to his enemies. even hiei states early on that he chose kurama as his partner because he wouldnt want him as an enemy

AHEM okay. thats enough rambling about my hyperfixation for now i think fhkzhfjd i probably wont be rambling much about the other ones i just really really REALLY love yyh

2. My Hero Academia

i was biiig hyperfixated on this show for a while there, i just absolutely LOVE stories that explore the gray areas of things, so when this show gets into that sorta shit with the hero society its a BIG fave. plus the characters are really fun, todoroki is my fave hehe

3. She-ra (reboot)

another previous hyperfixation, i just really love these characters and honestly theyre so fun to ship in a big ol poly pile lol. tbh i miss being fixated on this one, i had sooo much fun with it ♡

4. Talentless Nana

this was a shorter hyperfixation, but MAN this show gave me EMOTIONS. i dont wanna say too much about it because i think its best to watch the first episode without knowing too much about it, but there is a BIG TWIST at the end of the first episode, and the "genre" of the show completely shifts for all of the episodes after it. if you like darker series, i def recommend this one :3 i just hope itll get more seasons!! but at least theres the manga to continue on with after the first season!

5. Avatar the Last Airbender

an absolute classic from my childhood ♡ itll always be one of my faves!! the characters, the story, the world, i love it so much !!! i still wish i could be a water or fire bender ^w^

honestly it feels weird not putting up a sonic show on here, but when i think about it i never was the biggest on the shows and have always been way more attached to the games canon. though sonic x is def still a classic from my childhood too owo

I'm really proud of my Kathony one shots (My 10 Things AU is a vibe but I've abandoned it sorry yall 😭) and I think my NB!Sophie fic deserves more love so please if you're interested have a read and let me know what you think 💞

As for the other recs - I'll be honest, I don't read as much fics as I should especially when I have so many amazing writer friends I really feel bad I haven't read or commented enough on their fics! That being said here's all my fave fic writers (literally mainly my friends shsjjsjs cos they're the only ones I trust to get the characters right):

@newtonsheffield aka Molly! She is first fandom friend I ever made in this fandom and the reason I ended up making this blog. I always saw her in the main tag and got really curious about her fics. Then I fell into the rabbit hole that is BSCU which I still need to finish 💀💀. I would rec all of her works tbh she has written something for everyone but my personal faves are the following:

1) Mysterious Fathoms Below - A Little Mermaid Kathony AU that's very soft and hella intimate. I was SUPER hyped for this one and Molly really delivered

2) Through The Wire - This was an intense and angsty AU where Anthony gets amnesia after an accident a little while after dumping Kate when they were getting too serious. It was brilliantly written and I honestly think this is her best work. It's so annoying that the puritans of the fandom gave her so much shit for some of her chapters, they can fuck right off this was my absolute fave fic of hers ever!

3) Royals - Hello we ALL LOVE a Princess Diaries 2 AU! This was such a fun read honestly it's been so long I need to go back and reread. Also watching the movie right after hits different and gives you all the feels

[Ik she has other faves she'd hype up more but I haven't read those yet jshdjjd so I can't really comment on them but oh! Honourable Mention because she's mentioned she loves this AU but it's very underrated and I still need to read it: Post Traumatic. It's a Jurassic Park AU AND Kate is a fight pilot it's iconic]

I would also recommend going through the tags of those fics because she always has fun snippets, edits and playlists for them! It really drums up the hype while you're waiting for it to be updated.

Next up we have Lil aka @sharmasandcorgis whose writing I absolutely adore and I think she's hella underrated so please go give her some love on her AO3

1) Leap Year - If you haven't already guessed I go feral for movie AUs I think its a film writer thing lmao. Based on the movie of the same name, it's enemies to lovers EXCELLENCE, with a side of fake marriage we love to see it!!

2) Mornings - It's pregnancy Kathony fic and is so so soft and comforting. I was literally Agnes reading it: IT'S SO FLUFFY I'M GOING TO DIE!!

3) So I need to catch up on her other fics but she's so brilliant I couldn't pick a 3rd I'm just reccing her entire AO3 works!!

Zaira aka @jeanvanjer who needs to write more fics for us because her writing is AMAZING, currently only has The Ghost of You up at the moment. Very soft but angsty and sad, get tissues ready before reading.

Triv aka @hptriviachamp is my fave Regency fic writer because she's very good with the language of the time, does thorough research for every fic and as a Poli-Sci major, always has a political touch in her fics it sets her writing apart from the rest of the writers and makes her stories so unique!

1) Suddenly A Smile, Shyly Obscene - Johncesca's first meeting fully fleshed out. I watched this fic come to life in our GC whenever we had writing sprints and let me say I'M OBSESSED! She really understands Johncesca and the way she writes John makes me go feral, her John is now Canon John imo.

2) The Courtship of Charlotte Bridgerton - IT'S *THE* NEXT GEN FIC! Charlotte and Clairmont are super compelling especially with how it progresses and no spoilers but there's a suprise on Clairmont's part 👀. It's a really refreshing take on a certain kind of relationship and the characters are just so fun to read about.

3) A Very Bridgerton Diwali - The very first fic of hers I've read. It made my heart sing because it reminded me so much of how my family and I are during Deepavali so it hit close to home in a very soft way.

Author's Pick: Do Not Go Gentle Into That Senior Year (Just Rage) - A Kathony HS AU with all the tropes of a HS au and beats of their story in one fic.

Honourable Mention: I'm Your National Anthem - A very spicy politically charged Kathony Politics AU but it's on the back burner as a WIP and hasn't been posted 😭😭 if it ever comes out please go read it!

1) Bridgertons' Anatomy - IT'S A GREYS AU!! I was really surprised to hear her tell me this wasn't hyped up more like don't yall love Greys?? AND OFC THE BRIDGERTONS WOULD BE A HIGH POWERED DOCTOR DYNASTY FAMILY!

Of course it's Benophie centric and Ben/Sophie (Baek!! She's Korean yall) are super cute in it but my fave chapter is Nepotism Babies where Anthony and Simon meet for the first time 🥺🥺🥺

Soo gooo read it - Belle also made a lot of edits for it, go give it some love!

2) Fallen Through Time - Outlander AU nuff said, very angsty and just iconic I mean when Jamie and Claire are the blueprint and you apply to Benophie it's just chef's kiss!

3) Author's Pick: Dusk Til Dawn - Violet Bridgerton II's Birth! Another fic that was born in our GC and it is so so soft. Okay but like the way I initially wrote From Dusk Til Dawn til I realised that's a video game 💀💀

Last but certainly not least, Michaela aka @minim236 is literally our fandom's Bob the Builder fix-it fic writer. Canon broke it? Michaela can fix it, yes she can!

Her AUs are unmatched! Lots of fun rarepairs but she makes them work and you can see why they fit together. My personal favourite fic is tied between these two so I'll put them in the order I read it:

1) The Marina/Simon Series - An AU where Simon and Marina strike a deal to enter into a marriage of convenience so she won't be ruined and Simon can say Fuck you to his dad by not having any biological kids to take the Dukedom. Also these two deserve better than being ending up with r*pists (Ik Show Phillip didn't since they won't need to consummate their marriage and she doesn't seem to have PPD but still Book Philip can go die.)

I think this was the first ever fic I read from her?? So definitely has a special place in my heart!

2) [Also Author's Pick:] A Papa Sharma & Mary Love Story. My soft spot is Kate and Edwina's parents I WANNA KNOW EVERYTHING and this fic series fulfilled that!! Their love story was so so sweet and we had baby Kate and Mary moments I was sobbing! We also had a moment where Vi was being a ignorant white lady lmaoo it was funny and I lowkey wish she had been called out for it within the narrative hshshs.

3) Ruin

I need to read this but it's a monster of a fic and I love that! Hopefully it will be finished by the time I can start it and I'll be able to binge it ehehhe. I will say I always see edits for it and they are amazing!!! So please go give them some love 💞

Also anon I know you asked for Pre-S2 and Post-S2 fics, but I can't recommend any good fics that are canon compliant with S2. I've given up on trying to find good ones without a Kathani jumpscare and I have talked about it on my blog a couple of times (recently talked about it in the comments here) but I hate HATE the trend of Abusive!Sharmas and White Saviour Kathony saving Kate from her 'oh so horrible' family, it's fucked up. Please go read TVWLM and come back with better characterisations of the Sharma Family Unit thanks, we don't claim the dysfunction on the show.

When did you join the Phandom? I joined January of 2014! Well into the heyday of angst! Which was perfect, because I really wanted some horror stories, and the angst hit those cravings and more!

What fanwork are you most proud of? Well, this is a tough decision! I've done writing, and I've done art, and I've done music and podfics! It's hard to pick just one! So, I guess I will try to pick one from each category, instead!

Writing: My Phic Phight 2019 oneshot, Clueless, is still one of my favorite pieces! I still really like how I wrote Spectra!

Art: For this, I'd have to go with my Big Bang piece! I really enjoyed doing the line art for it, and it was a very big step in doing digital coloring for me, as well! I also really love the phic, written by TWD, that I made this for! Mind the CWs, tho: gore, maggots, blood, injury, mutilated corpses, neck injury, head injury, angst

Music: I'm really proud of my Mini Bang music! I learned about panning from Lexx, and Lexx mastered the music, so it turned out really, really well! I particularly like how "Wanderlust" turned out!

Podfic: I haven't podficced in a while... but I gotta say, the one I'm most proud of (and also the one I want to redo the most) is my podfic of "It was real, and I repent" by anthrop! I like how I voiced Clockwork, and I like my Observants voice, and I like how I did the "Time Out"s! This was an early podfic, though, on my iPhone mic a few upgrades ago, in a room that didn't have much sound proofing. I'd love to see what I can do now that I have a proper mic, a better recording environment, and a better grasp of narration!

Do you have a phavorite DP phic trope? Ummmm... Angst? Hurt/Comfort? The horror of being half dead yet half alive? The first two are why I came; that last one is one of the reasons why I stay!

What are you going as for Halloween? Either Box Ghost, or my low key Napstablook look! Depends on my mood, really!

Why did you pick your mod role? Well, I was going to call myself "Ghost Zone Janitor Bib", but that's a long tag to type all the time, and I'm likely to forget the "Zone" bit. So, I am mod bib!

But don't mind me, I'm just your local Ghost Zone Janitor Bib, sweeping up the messes and spills we encounter as we go! When I'm not desperately catching up with school, you can find me reblooping posts, correcting tags, and testing out the different pages to make sure they link to their correct spaces! Ok so, last week, i was finally able to get my hands on my long awaited nitendo switch lite! Something I've been wanting for a very long time, primarily back when i first found out about splatoon, the first version

And along my switch, i bought splatoon 3, obviously! And I've been having a blast!!....but I'm having one stupid issue

Now, bc of reasons, i couldn't really get a switch so early on, nor get my hands in splatoon in general (no one i knew played splatoon so not even by that), and i wasn't and still am not the type to sit and watch gameplays unless they can really captivate me (even if i do like the game itself, i just dont have the attention span for it), and i was hyperfixated on stuff and games i could get my hands on. So most of splatoon lore was lost to me, i only occasionally checked the stuff out, and hoped i could join the hype one day

But with all that, it comes to the conclusion that, i never got the chance to feel attched to certain characters. And here's what I've been having an issue with:

Story mode, specifically, the agents, even more specifically, Agent 3/Captain

What i like is that, i feel like a genuine new soul, the new agent 3 is as clueless as me. And that is also the problem

I keep seeing all this cute ass content of ships and personal interpretation of agent 3 that i love! Yet hate how i wasn't able to be part of that, and now idk how

Idk how the fandom js, idk what the rules are, heck at this point imma just go watch the damn gameplays bc i wanna know who agent 3 and the rest are. I wanna get attched to them! (More then i already am lol)

I guess my main gripe is how i missed out on alot, and it's no use to try and get the previous games by now, i dont think it be a good use of my money, especially bc I'm already wasting enough with current shit

And i also just kinda, wanna know if anyone who did play the games, and are acquainted with who the agents are, have anything to share about it? Idk, some input i guess

It's fucken late tho, midnight, and i just left from playing splatoon and am tired, so idk how much sense this post is making

I guess i just wanted to rant

Although i will say, i am acquainted with general main lore of the game and its story what happened and all that, did my homework on that

I'm more talking about ther intimate/personal aspects of it with the characters u play as

Tldr: I missed out on alot of splatoon and am trying to catch up, making me feel upset about missing out on it. Would like some input to try and get to know more about the agents from anyone who's more acquainted with lore ( ówò);;
