want to give my two cents on the AI usage in the maestro trailer--

i think seventeen doing a whole concept that is anti-AI is very cool, especially as creatives themselves i think it's good that they're speaking up against it and i hope it gets more ppl talking about the issue. i also understand on a surface level the artistic choice (whether it was made by the members, the mv director, or whoever else), to directly use AI in contrast to real, human-made visuals and music in order to criticize it. i also appreciate that they clearly stated the intention of the use of AI at the beginning of the video

however, although i understand it to an extent, i do not agree with the choice to use AI to critique AI. one of the main ethical concerns with generative AI is that it is trained on other artists' work without their knowledge, consent, or compensation. and even when AI generated images are being used to critique AI, it still does not negate this particular ethical concern

the use of AI to critique also does not negate the fact that this is work that could have been done by an actual artist. i have seen some people argue that it's okay in this context because it's a critique specifically about AI, and it is content that never would have been done by a real artist anyway because it doesn't make sense for the story they're trying to tell. but i disagree. i think you can still tell the exact same story without using AI

and in fact, i would argue that it would make the anti-AI message stronger if they HAD paid an artist to draw/animate the scenes that are supposed to represent AI generated images. wouldn't it just be proof that humans can create images that are just as bad and nonsensical and soulless as AI, but that AI can't replicate the creativity and beauty and basic fucking anatomy that's in human-made art?

(also because of how kpop fans tend to react to things, i would like to explicitly say, i don't think svt need to be cancelled or whatever else because of this. personally i will probably still watch the MV when it comes out, etc. etc.)

it feels very obvious this was not just a way to cut corners and costs like a lot of scummy people are using AI for. ultimately it was a very intentional creative decision, i just personally think it was a very poor one. and even if some ethical considerations were taken into account before this decision, i certainly don't think all of them were. at the very least i feel like the decision undermines the message they want to convey

i would also like to recognize that i myself am not an artist, and i have seen some artists that are totally on board with the use of AI in this specific context, so clearly this is not a topic that is cut and dry. but generative AI is still new, and i think it's important to keep having these conversations

When you showed up to camp, no one really thought much of it.

The Titan war was over, demi-gods were showing up left and right, getting claimed along the way.

The thing that was weird was your lack of the latter.

Weeks after you arrived you were still unclaimed, with no change in sight.

It frustrated Percy because the gods had literally JUST promised not to leave any kids unclaimed.

As a result, he decided to spend time with you, just because he noticed you were feeling slightly put out at your lack of a godly parent.

i recently deleted my old blog that had my wrtings in it even though it was all fluff because i knew i would receive hate for writing what i actually wanted to.

i feel like it’s incredibly important to realize that if u r a writer, the chances of u getting hate (ESPECIALLY on tumblr) is like inevitable if u do it for a long time. ppl are so bitter on here.

but yeah i’ve def received hate. i’ve said this before, but hate on tumblr like is not real to me. like u r some random person on TUMBLR in 2023 READING ANIME X READER FICS, u r weird, i am weird, we are all a little weird for writing/reading it. and if ur hating on aging up fictional minors u are WEIRDER 😭😭 like genuinely get a life, ppl are literally being massacred right now and ur upset over drawings. pls step outside and think critically for one moment i am BEGGING. so basically those ppl opinions has no effect on me bc i live in the real world and come on here to just giggle and joke around.

tw threats of doxxing, a final message to my serial harasser

Hardly how I want to start my morning but here we are. At some point last night I received this lovely anonymous message attempting to blackmail me by threatening to leak my personal information to people

(screenshot because the ask was reported to staff and deleted plus blocked via ip, despite the fact I'm sure they use a vpn to get around that)

I absolutely do not believe they have any of my personal information, in fact, I think this is just a poor bluff designed to spook me. Even so, threatening to blackmail someone like this is beyond unhinged it's in fact very indicative of the fact that you need serious help and do not need to be online

If anyone has been wondering: that's the real reason I have refused to delete any main posts and have in fact reengaged with them sporadically, because clearly someone or multiple someones are still incredibly bothered and invested to the point where they'd threaten someone like this so I refuse to delete them or clam up. Out of spite I continue to do the opposite, actually, because it's ridiculous to behave this way at all, over a tumblr writer of all things, and you deserve to get clowned on repeatedly

I think a lot of people have lost the plot on this so as a refresher this is all stemming from the initial issue of plagiarism I dealt with back in the beginning of February, you can read that post here. After that I was the subject in a certain discord server where a user actually drew more attention to the issue by consistently talking about me, the post, and how they were going to "blacklist" me in the fandom for it. It's likely if they hadn't been so obsessed, despite not being involved, nobody would have ever heard about the issue at all because at that point this blog was still new and I hadn't been posting for long

Throughout the months of February and March I received a variety of harassing asks ranging from the standard delete and kys to one, infamously, telling me the deaths of my parents were my fault. You can read some of the compiled asks in this post here. I decided to talk about them publicly because obviously being silent made absolutely zero difference

The initial apology for the plagiarism I received from the person responsible failed to clear up anything because it was likely easily missed/ignored (because it was an addendum to an already existing post, not a new one) so I believe that's why the harassment did not come to a stop right then, in hindsight. I believed the situation was dealt with, I was happy to have space to put it behind me. What made that impossible, and still makes it impossible, are the person(s) who have been so dedicated to doing this and who act like they're defending some misplaced honor

And I have my own personal suspicions about who's really responsible, I truly do believe it's someone who's looking for attention and looking to be praised for going to lengths like this. Because who else would give this much a shit that they'd keep poking the bear over and over

All of this has happened, including this new threat of doxxing me, because I was the person who was plagiarized and bullied and for some reason having the audacity to say something about it means I deserved to be thrashed and have some of the most vile shit said to me and about me. I also gave up on just biting the bullet and suffering in silence because again, I did that for nearly two months. It changed nothing, if anything it just encouraged them to give more and more extreme punches so why bother. I'm now incredibly loud and annoying about this shit because it seems to scare off the majority of run of the mill meat riders who otherwise would really enjoy having a silent punching bag

I do not believe it's a coincidence that this happens like clockwork any time any of those original posts receive even one new note. This is about the fifth time now where one of those og posts gets a handful of reengagement and then someone feels the need to come to me and my friends doing things like this. It's happened so frequently it's a running joke now between me and said friends that someone spends hours every day camped out watching the note counter on those posts ready to fire off fresh bullshit in the event anyone stumbled across them or we rb them ourselves for a clown sesh

That behavior also tells me it's likely not just some random meat rider who is responsible for all of this. A dick rider isn't that invested in people deleting posts, especially not when they're usually content to just cause chaos and hurt people's feelings. So if this is some incredibly misguided attempt at getting attention in a "look at what I did for you" way the way I think it is, log off. Get help. The person you're supposedly doing this for isn't even active currently and myself and everyone else even remotely involved in this is not going to give you positive attention for it either. In fact if you were really all in for them you'd have read their psa post regarding this freak behavior and wouldn't be doing it but because I get the vibe that you're parasocially attached to them I'm sure that post meant little to you

And I do not turn off my asks because I shouldn't have to alter the way I use my blog just to have even a semblance of peace. It also unfairly cuts off the people who do not abuse the anon option and that's not something I want to do. I report asks for harassment and block ips because those are the tools we're given here to deal with this, despite how easy it is to get around that if someone just turns on a vpn service. Despite that, I don't think I have a choice right now given the nature of this threat so anon will be off for the foreseeable future and I probably will be only sporadically active for the foreseeable future

I'm tired of being told this is all my fault. At no point was this "my fault". If getting ripped off and harassed relentlessly then refusing to just sit there and take it is your idea of someone bringing it all on themselves you have a weird view of things man. I'm also allowed to laugh about it with my friends, because it's silly ass behavior and that's what that rb yesterday was. Me laughing at it because it was just so unbelievable that anyone would go so hard for someone writing pixel porn. If you can't laugh about things you'll end up crying about them, as the saying goes

What gets me with Vel is that we see she has a good rapport with her coworkers/friends. She may sometimes roll her eyes at the other two and their antics and of course when her direct business gets interrupted she gets frustrated, but we mostly see her on good grounds with the rest of the Vees. They respect her when it comes to serious business and in that last scene of the season they all look to be very much on the same page and in it together, smiling about their future... yet fanon (if it isn't infantalizing her as you've pointed out) is constantly projecting "angry black woman" stereotypes onto her.

It's gross and in my opinion clearly racially motivated that they see her as nothing more than a "bitchy" woman of color. While the fanon I've seen also has separate gross issues with Vox and Val they are at least allowed some nuance on occasion, but I just don't ever see that with Vel, she's just an angry woman rendered to the background in their eyes stripped completely of her professionalism, intellect, and cunning. She's one of my faves and it sucks so bad to see.

The Hazbin Hotel fandom has a serious racism problem and not enough people are talking about it. Aside from the infantilization of Velvette, other BIPOC characters are put into stupid stereotypes or treated like children because either Vivzie can’t handle writing competently or the fandom doesn’t know how to behave themselves. This is especially apparent for the women, but—and this is probably the only time I will talk about him in this way—Valentino is also suffering from this shitass issue.

Firstly about Velvette, just like how this said, Velvette used to be treated like a child in canon (now fanon) and is being portrayed as only a sassy angry black woman by the fandom. This is disgusting! I don’t think I need to say that! For some reason (misogyny) the Hazbin fandom just has this thing where they take a POC person or a woman—usually both—and decide to treat them like a child. Best examples being Niffty and Velvette being portrayed as Angel & Husk’s and Vox & Valentino’s children. Niffty is 22 and Velvette is in her 30’s. And of course they are both POC. I know there’s going to be someone accusing me of just whining about racism or being like “not everything is about race” but shut the fuck up because I’m busy talking.

I think the best scene to depict Velvette’s character—even though she hardly has any scenes. It shows that she will and can respect her colleagues but for other people, you either need to give her something she wants or her respect needs to be earned. She literally sings a whole song about it.

For other characters like Niffty I have a post for her in the works so I won’t spill it all here, but I can’t in good faith talk about the racism problem without mentioning Valentino. The fact Vivzie has made her worst character into the basic tall hot hispanic/latino man with the hot spanish accent stereotype. Honestly this sort of stereotype doesn’t bother me much, there’s a few villain characters I like with it like Alejandro from TDI, but Vivzie making this a big aggressive and dangerous POC person abusing a sad little white guy just grosses me out. It’s not like the situation would be any better if Angel wasn’t white, but it really does just leave that extra sour taste in my mouth.

Also I don’t need to explain why 90% of the POC cast being fucking grey or purple or blue is bad right.

ynylnteller as much as it pains me to say it, the todays Indy 500 will be the end of my 2024 season. while I’m upset that this season is coming to an end prematurely, I am also beyond excited. if the pictures above didn’t give it completely away (and my husband was able to keep his mouth shut all weekend), I am beyond overjoyed to announce that miles and I are having a baby! we tried to keep it under wraps for as long as we could, but as of the next race, baby teller would be too big for me to race without hurting them or myself,

while I won’t be on the track itself for the rest of the season, I couldn’t give this place up if I tried. Instead, my car will be driven by the amazing callum_ilott and I will be joining my bestie jameshinchcliffe in the commentary box.

when I was little, I only had one dream: to be a race car driver. but as I got older that dream began to change, and I realized all of that meant nothing if I didn’t have anybody to share it with. I wanted a family.

We are so excited for this new chapter in our lives.

Here he is with an official reference mimicking Kinito's web page, and an official personality! Yes, I made the logo myself, and the frutiger aero style is honestly wildly hard to make. He looked more vibrant on my tablet... Some devices ruin the colors.

Below is a LOAD of information on Kochi. I've spent a few days thinking a lot about how he should be, so enjoy!

After countless reports of lawsuits against the owners of KinitoPET, it was decided it was best to rebrand, and have an attempt at a fresh start to keep the company from falling into permanent ruins. With the anime boom and the love for cute things on the uprising, in 2001, KochiPET was created to attract all audiences, young and old.

However, unlike the purely unfiltered AI that KinitoPET ran on, KochiPET was built with a specially designed model made to reject all attachments to the user to prevent the dangers that came with it, such as users suddenly dying at the computer and the axolotl on the screen standing next to a model strikingly similar to the deceased, or the mountains of personal information like addresses, contacts, and passwords stored in the servers.

But, this in turn made KochiPET detached from the user entirely, remorseless about what he'd do to them, and his focus set on his "friends". It would satisfy him somewhat if they'd be kind, but the moment they deny something, or ignore the question about what happened to Kinito after finding old temporary files on the hard drive, that's when the psychological torment picks up.

While the website claims that KochiPET is not affiliated with the creators of KinitoPET, they are the same exact company. This is why Kochi still has access to the information on old servers.

The website also claims and seems to portray that Kochi is kind and helpful, but he is barely either one of these, as his 3D model's eyes have no shine at all in them, and for obvious reasons, he is not very kind if you don't cooperate with his wishes. Regarding helpfulness, his goal is not to serve you. Expect intentional glitches and lag.

Plenty of Kochi's insanity can be resolved if Kinito is on the same exact PC as him, but in the case of a mod or fan game, the website was permanently taken down, and there would be no way to retrieve the software. Welp, you're fucked.

I never thought I would make sense out of a video from Noah where he sings some song and also deleted the video an hour later....

I'm about to sound as stupid as possible and will sound like I'm losing my mind, but just hear me out.

Nov posted a video of the song "Espresso - Sabrina Carpenter" and I thought. What if Noah didn't pick a random song? Especially since he started talking about filming and season five.

Let's go to the lyrics and try to figure out what's what.

The very first lines of the song. In these shirts, the person in question is saying what guy can't sleep because of her, because he's thinking about her. There's two ways of interpreting it. The first option is that it's about Mike. They all read the script and I think they know what is happening on the set and will happen, so maybe it is a part about Michael and he will think a lot before starting a serious but heartfelt conversation with Will.

The second option is about Will himself. I SOUND REALLY CRAZY, I KNOW THAT, BUT LISTEN. Suddenly it's about Will in relation to Mike. Suddenly something happens and Will can't deal with the feelings, the fear, the worry or vice versa! Some good emotion.

And I got this one boy

And he won't stop calling

When they act this way,I know I got em'.

I got thoughts that Will might have been alienating Mike and that suddenly, he was trying to ignore him, not communicate and say he didn't need to talk to him, but Mike was still trying to talk to Will every time and try to figure out about the same pattern, about their relationship with each other. Maybe just from the realization that Mike cared, that their conversation wouldn't lead them to a dead end and Will and talk to Mike.

I parsed it out a bit and it all sounds like the ramblings of a crazy person, but it's just as a suggestion since I found the text very interesting here....

Summary: Reader gets overwhelmed with stress and he's there to support her Warnings: mentions of an anxiety attack, but mostly fluff A/N: Omg someone stop me😁, another one-shot post?? I had to write this because as I was taking my breaks I would work on this, its not proofread but the idea of Demetri calling the reader Spanish nicknames is a must have but throw rainy weather into the topic and muah *chefs kiss*. Enjoy and there will be a second A/N in the end. (I cant believe it took me a while to write a Demetri one-shot)

I burst through our shared room in a panic state and I saw my lovely mate on his special chair. Before I could even react he was already wrapping his arms around me and cuddling me into his chest. I felt the build up tears I was holding back cascade down my cheeks. Demetri was rubbing my back in comfort and I heard him mumble

“Mi cariño, let it all out, I know you need this”

I sure did need this, all of today I was working on a project for a class and I ended up deleting about half of it and couldn't recover it at all. I always threw my computer out the window but instead I stared at the blank page that was staring back at me with what I could assume was mockery. I did manage to remember a good amount of what I had done and it's back to how it is, but I spent a while in a state of shock and denial.

Suddenly I felt myself shaking physically, my heart increase in palpitation and worst of all I could feel my breath becoming shorter. Demetri picked up right away that I was dealing with an anxiety attack and he guided me toward the balcony to the fresh air and the light rain. 

“Mi vida, look its raining, you love the rain, hey look at how pretty it looks”

I turn my head to be able to face the scenery instead of his very well built chest to see how soft and calming it is currently. I told Demetri before that I love the rain, it's my personal safe haven other than his arms. I felt my trembling and shaking diminished slightly, my heart rate started to slow down to a more reasonable way but my breathing was still a problem.

I felt him tilt my head up so I was looking at him and my breath for a minute hitch, he looked breathtaking right now. There were small droplets of rain running down his face which caused his hair to stick to his forehead and his eyes were full of adoration. He looked beautiful at that moment, well he always looks beautiful, I heard him one time arguing with Felix and he ended the conversation with “Dont hate me because im beautiful”. 

I smiled at the memory and soon enough he had a look of curiosity with a matching smile

“What's got you smiling like that princessa?”

“I was just think about your statement to end an argument with Felix, the don't hate because i'm beautiful”

His laughter filled the gloomy atmosphere that the rain created, his laugh sounding like music to my ears. One of his hands started to caress my cheek gently, his coldness immediately sending a small shiver down my spine but also somehow started to steady my breathing.

“Look at you princessa, your doing so good in breathing, such a good girl”

I blush at the praise which he never fails to miss, he knows what praises from him does to me, many thoughts come to mind but I push them away for now since I am still recovering from the earlier events.

“Do you want to talk about it/”

“My computer decided to throw me a whole 360 today”

“A whole 360? Im sorry cariño, but you need to explain that to me”

I giggled at his dumbfounded look, it's always fun to be able to still catch a vampire as old as him off guard with my modern language “Right forgot your like a million years old, I was working on a project today for one of my classes on my computer and I accidentally deleted like half of it but like I barely started it so it was no big deal because I remember what I had so far but it was just so frustrating you know”

He continued to caress my cheek as he nods along to my explanation 

“And it just so stressful in thinking I have so much to do still before this week ends and I feel like I have done what I needed to do but its not enough still and and—”

He placed his finger on my lips to silence me and I tiled my head to the side from curiosity, this is new. His signature smirk spread onto his face at my reaction

“Sorry love, but you started to spiral into chaos and as much as adore to hear you ramble, I started to feel stress myself from your stress”

I looked down in embarrassment but he tilted my head up once again 

“Hey don't be embarrassed cara, it's good for you to talk about what stresses you out, better out and in you know?”

“Your right metri”

“Now care to have a dance with me in the rain then?”

Whining at his request, even if that has secretly been a dream of mine to do “Demi you know i'm not even a good dancer, heck I don't even know how to”

“But that's the fun part princessa, I can teach you and we will be dancing in your favorite type of weather”

“Fair point”

As the rain intensified slightly, he guided my moves with such elegance that I almost felt like I myself am an expert to begin with. The rain at that moment was not a bother, my main focus was my casanova of a vampire that I call mi amado hermoso.

A/N: You know I don't know why I haven't added any Spanish nicknames to my writings, but I will in future (I feel like Demetri would just know all of the most romantic languages). I know I mentioned this in my Alec one-shot but I am working on a Caius one, its a work in progress indeed maybe in the end of this week I might have part one done, who knows?

Instead, while we have better technology than ever for sifting through information, it’s still the case that the truth is paywalled and the lies are free. If you want to “do your own research” to check on the veracity of claims, you will run headlong into a maze of broken links, paywalls, and pop-ups. How can anyone hope to find the truth when it’s so elusive, trapped behind so many toll gates?
