This Week In BL - Japan is BRINGING IT

June 2022 Wk 2

Being a highly subjective assessment of one tiny corner of the interwebs. Organized by which ones (in each category) I’m enjoying the most.

Ongoing Series - Thai

Triage (AISplay Mon) Ep 7- This ep was mostly to give movement to the romance plot and since (oddly for me) that’s the bit I find the least engaging I wasn’t as wild about this installment. Next week looks VERY dramatic tho.

Check Out (IQIYI Sat) Ep 1 - This season’s messy gays be messy series! I gotta say I love the intro credits on this one: character + actor names. I need that in all my BL. Our leads are Nine (Chahub) and Daonuea (Best). (My boy Plustor is coming too!) So Daonuea is pining for the boy who ghosted him after a hot fling AND a boss/ex/cheater that wants to date him again. Of course boss & fling turn out to know each other. Best is GOOD. I like an office setting but I’m not wild about the execution here. But the messy exes drama is relatable and fun/different. Captions are quite poor.

KinnPorsche (iQIYI Sat) Ep 10 - Well KimChay moved fast. Meanwhile Kinn’s bodyguards are all pretty naff, letting Tawan get away. The traitor(s) = no particular surprise. Oo death! Also dumb crazy drama gay, but whatevs. I’m mad that everyone looked for Porsche but no one looks for Pete? I guess it’s good to be the boss’s f-toy. Oh, I’m salty abotu this show. Sigh. At least it was an exciting ep?

Sky in Your Heart (Fri YouTube) Ep 2 - It’s perfectly serviceable. I’m not wowed by the chemistry but it’s fine.

My Secret Love (YouTube Sat) Ep 3 - Fake relationship is a go and watching them lampoon BL tropes is kind of fun. No screen caps because, you know, fakel but they covered (deep breath): head in lap, picnic, feeding, back hug, movie date, sharing earbuds, and library assignation. Just because I am having a really hard time keeping this straight (pun intended) here is the character breakdown (aside from the leads): campus star = P’Tim (he comes with portable adorable bestie); pair in the 7 year relationship = P’Park & Lee (who switched departments) - they use rao/ter with each other (cutesy). Everyone else = unimportant.

Ongoing Series - Not Thai

To My Star (Korea Viki) Ep 1-2 - YES FINE I’m watching it. I said I was gonna wait but... I CAN’T. OMG I’m so scared. The doorway being used for transition shots between past| |present was very clever. Also my goodness I almost forgot what really good acting looked like in BL! The year separation after a break up is a classic Korean drama plot point that usually comes at the end of a show, not the beginning. It’s going to be interesting and bumpy to watch them deal with this reverse plotting. They better come up with a really good justification for Ji Woo leaving and being that cruel or heads will ROLL. Also, that better be his sister and not an ex girlfriend, I have it up the here with faen fatales. Please don’t betray our trust Hwang Da Seul.

Love in Spring (Korea grey) Ep 5-8 - I love to see a brushing hair trope (in a way I don’t love the usual hair dry trope we get in BL). I have no idea why. Also we had an example of the boy protecting “the girl’s” reputation with fisticuffs. This story reminds me a little of those girl disguised as a boy host club shows we got from Japan for a while – same kind of comedy that is a little beyond my ken and slightly jarring. At ep 7 it finally got good as the leads develop a genuine friendship. The snake thing was odd though. To be fair there’s a lot of odd in the show. I’m enjoying the tension and liking it more each ep.

Plus & Minus (Taiwan Viki *rec* & GaGa Fri) Ep 10 - The dreaded unnecessary break up. At least we understand the bar owner’s motivations. I don’t know where I am with this show now, but I do like that its general assumption is that everyone is at least a little bit bi, and since I too like to give everyone the benefit of the doubt, I’m not opposed to seeing it on screen.

Want to See You (Vietnam YouTube) Ep 1 - Boy likes his baths, that’s for certain. Standard psycho female character and a basic but uncommon servant/master set up. I’m getting Jane Eyre or something. Nice kisses already but this is no Mr. Cinderella. (The bar has been set, VBL, now I know what you can do.)

Getaway (Singapore Mon YouTube) Ep 2-3 - Look, I’m the first to admit that there’s a lot of bad and awkward acting in this genre, but for some reason… it feels a lot worse in English. I like how unabashedly gay this show is but (how do I put this nicely?) if I’m gonna watch English language gay-vacay shizz – I’d rather watch Fire Island. Still, as one might expect, the heat execution is good (Taiwan still holds the crown, tho).

BLs That Finished this week!

Dear Doctor, I'm Coming for Soul (iQIYI Weds) Ep 12fin - I was mixed over the sides, but in the end, they were a cute couple (weird kisses thing notwithstanding). This show had a very Korean style unnecessary-separation in the last ep. But I guess I’m used to that now. Are KarnNat the best Thai origin couple at domesticity? Seems like. The show’s ending reminded me A LOT of Love: Life on the Line (Director’s Cut) so if you like that you’ll like this one, but it’s not strictly HEA. I thought it suited the narrative so I’m not mad. But I’m not sure I’ll ever rewatch it either. Like Peach of Time, everything was set up for us, so the end wasn’t surprising and it managed to be substantially happier than Peach or Grey Rainbow (shudder). So maybe I rate it higher because it could have been a lot worse? ARGH. Decisions. 7/10 RECOMMENDED WITH RESERVATIONS Full review here.

Close Friend 2 (Viki Thur) Ep 6fin - I liked the dealing with celebrityhood and fandom storyline, although I thought it was too generous to those fans. But in the end this is, like the first installment, fine but forgettable. I did like the breaking the fourth wall and mentioning each other‘s projects at the end. That was fun insider trading. (I guess we get a season 3 featuring DunBas, not my favorite. Shrug.) Anygay, both pairs did well but in terms of content and story, I wasn’t wowed. 6/10 WORTH WATCHING BUT FLAWED

Fukou-kun wa Kiss Suru Shikanai! AKA Mr Unlucky Has No Choice But to Kiss! (Japan GaGa *rec* & Viki Fri) Ep 8fin - since this is in the My Love Mix-Up vein of JBL, I was not expecting a final kiss. I consider us lucky that we got the launch kiss, quite frankly. That didn’t stop me from being a touch disappointed, but the final boyfriends cuteness wrestling in bed (VERY Cherry Magic of them) was perfectly serviceable. A solid little JBL. 8/10 RECOMMENDED

Gossip

I still can’t believe they’re allowing it but it really does seem like Korea is bringing us A Shoulder To Cry On starring Jaehan (oldest) & Yechan (maknae) BOTH from Kpop group OMEGA X. Enemies to lovers, school set, 12 eps, due out in the fall.

Also in Korea announced adaptation of Lily's comic Heesu in Class 2 . About a shy unpopular boy with a secret crush on best friend. Looks pretty pat but I’m always open to KBL school-set stuff.

Japan announced BL adaptation of Minamoto Kazuki's comic: Kabesaa Doujin Sakka no Neko Yashiki-kun wa Shounin Yokkyuu wo Kojirasete iru starring Matsuoka Koudai (I know him from Five) and Nakao Masaki (Kakafukaka, Bow Then Kiss - he’s a BIG DEAL ya’ll) slated to be released in October. (source) The description from Crunchyroll is up on MDL but it’s incomprehensible.

Cambodia released a trailer of upcoming Khmer BL មើលបានហាមសម្លឹង AKA Eye Contact. We are in “don’t bet on it happening (or finishing)” territory.

New Thai drama My Coach seems to have a BL side plot.

Art Adore En got a trailer. Country boy studying at a university in Bangkok catches the eye of his senior.

2 Moons 3: The Ambassador announced a cast. That came out of nowhere.

This is one of those times that I really wish I read Thai and could confirm it, but Thai BL actor Copter Panuwat seems to have come out as non-binary. Copter has always been super supportive since the 2 Moons days. Someone at MDL is ON IT and has updated Copter’s profile to they/them in the bio section, even if the MDL system doesn’t offer it as an option (someone oughta change the back end code on that).

In Case You Missed It

Korean BL Blueming is getting a movie version. Since this aired on iQIYI not Viki, not sure if inter fans will get to see it.

iQIYI has picked up SantaEarth’s friends-to-lovers (possibly sad) BL My Only 12% from Wabi Sabi, coming late summer.

Japan is airing a BL comedy-drama adaptation of Naruko's Fudanshi Bartender no Tashinami AKA Accomplishment of Fudanshi Bartender streaming on FOD. About a fancy pants bartender who is secretly a nerdy BL fan.

3 BLs have been submitted for consideration to the Seoul International Drama Awards 2022: Semantic Error (Korea), I Promised You The Moon (Thailand), and My Beautiful Man (Japan).

The boys from Kissable Lips are pair branding. (They are rumored to have a new series The Circumstances Of Pungdeok Villa Room 304.) I mention this because it’s my first time seeing a Korean pair consciously use Thai techniques on their social media.

We’re hitting the Thai summer slow down season, thank heavens. There was too much for even me to keep up with for a while there. I could used some down time, except Japan won’t let me!

Monday: Japanese BL Old Fashion Cupcake adapted from the manga of the same name by by Sagan Sagan (trailer on FB). Seems to be a hyung romance: office set, employee/boss, age gap. About a subordinate with a crush on his boss - seems a bit Cherry Magic light? Only 5 episodes, coming to Viki!

Thursday: Kimi no Koto Dake Mite Itai AKA I Only Want To See You only 4 eps, starts June 16, Hulu JP. Not sure on inter.

Friday: Senpai, Danjite Koidewa! AKA Senpai, This Can’t be Love! is taking over Mr Unlucky’s time slot on Fridays, reported as picked up by GaGa for international although I’m showing it listed for Viki.

Oh yeah and then also: Love Mechanics disaster muffins start Saturday on WeTV.

Drop the Bit Ep.1 Part.1 Thoughts

Super Bee said he wants to see the average citizen. He hopes to see a Homies 2.0. I hope he means in context of artists that TRULY started from the bottom and not music or style wise.

Uneducated Kid: Whether you're good at rap today or not, I'll pick a pretty girl. The host says auditions are blind so Unedu said he'll just pick them if he thinks the silhouette looks like a woman. If it's a man he'll fail them.

King of supporting female rappers LOL

They had Super Bee go first. They had Unedu and Homies pretend like they didn't know it was him but obviously he left the judging area so who ELSE WOULD IT BE?!?!?!?!? LOL

So Super Bee starts angrily joking about how he only got a 4 pass (cause he's the 5th judge so he couldn't hit the button from on stage). Homies say that he wasn't good enough for the all pass and keeps making excuses. Super Bee says "I didn't like "Generation" (Homies' newest song at the time this was recorded), you couldn't surpass "Siren"" so CK(?) says "You couldn't surpass "Shark in a Cold Pool"...damn that was cold LOL

Someone rapping on 2PM's "Again and Again" instrumental. He's a bit rough but he's 14 and unknown so I'm not too shocked. Even Unedu said the beat choice was the main reason he passed and next time he needs to polish it up and bit more. I agree but again this contestant is super young. His name was Big Wave.

Random thought: Seeing teenage rappers always makes me think about Dickids and how remarkable they were. How the HELL were they that talented that young? OMG.

Roona & Sahmin passed....the bar is low. they're just loud and obnoxious (YNR loves anybody with these two qualities. It's like a requirement to join at least until Khan came) and one of the members (Roona) has an afro. I wonder if it's his real hair with a perm or if it's a wig.

They eliminated a bunch of good rappers and I know it's because they weren't ratchet, loud, and obnoxious enough. One was Yonghwan from Navyl1ne if you remember their killing verse with Rebel Jams from a few months ago.

This rapper is talented as well. They are called iceboy. His delivery and his instrumental choice was really good. Apparently he was on HSR season 1 (I don't remember him that was WAY too far back) ad there was some issues. He was one of the contestants who got exposed for things in their personal lives.

Minseok from Rebel Jams was eliminated as well.

LOL I just immediately recognized Khan even if he's blurred out. His voice is so recognizable once you know it. After I typed this, one of the captions on the show introduced Khan as an NFL member. He was already in that crew at the time (I thought Khan, Oxy, and Chillin Homie only met DURING this show and then they joined NFL but it seems like that's not the case?) So that means people potentially already knew of him. If that's the case then this was juts barely a bling audition.

They thought Khan's voice isn't loud enough but it's literally just his signature sound LOL and they signed him with that same sound so *shrugs*

I also immediately recognized Oxynova's voice. It's the style and the English tbh

Multiple people make lyrical mistakes and get eliminated.

I'm gonna stop right here for tonight. I guess this will be part 1 but I'll pick back up for the other half when I get a chance.

Dead City 1x01: Old Acquaintances and 1x02: Who's There?

So, I didn't do a post about the first episode of Dead City last week. (Can I just point out that the abbreviation for Dead City is D.C.? As in, Beth's D.C. spoon?)

The pilot episode was fine, but it was setting up the story, and we didn't see a ton of symbolism or Beth callbacks in it. Episode 2 this week was a different story.

Here is just a little bit of discussion about ep 1:

I finished that Dead City a little while ago. It's the pilot episode, some interesting things but they're just laying the groundwork, trying to get the story started which is very much expected. I just want to mention two things .

One is about Herschel. We knew that this is supposed to be a few years after the take down of CW. I'm just questioning tptb thinking in choosing their young actors for whatever age they're supposed to be, they change so rapidly that it would make more sense to me to have kept the original Herschel because the new replacement is obviously a few years older and yet, I swear by the end of the sixth episode he'll look like he's ready to be married with children, haha.

Okay, maybe not quite that bad but I'm just looking at this young man thinking he is going to age up real quick. They've already basically said that they'll be other seasons, that this is just the first, so obviously Herschel will be aging rapidly and I don't know if it will match the timeline going forward.

First there was the all the empty chairs in s11 then we had the green empty chair in Fear. In dead City near the start of it we see Negan with a motorcycle on one side of him and this empty chair on the other. Coincidence I'm sure. That empty chair nor that motorcycle doesn't has anything to do with the plot of the episode, so I'm not giving anything away, but it's a visual that I suspect Gimple had something to do with it.

Yeah I always thought that Virginia/Ginny/Jenny was meant for Morgan. Like he was being haunted.

I am looking at the caption under Negan though in that picture. Who’s he talking to? Is there someone named Ginny in DC?

Also idk why they keep casting weirdly old characters in TWDU. It’s not typical for them and I’m wondering if maybe there was some new rule or by-law passed by SAG or something to do with child actors and they can’t cast anyone under the age of like 13, or they can but it’s a major pain so they’re just asking us to suspend our disbelief.

You'll find out who Ginny is pretty quickly. I won't go into it, not that it would spoil anything, but I think we'll see more of her going forward. She doesn't appeared to have a big purpose, which tells me that her character must have a purpose going forward.

Discussion on Episode 2: Who's There?

I enjoyed the episode. There are things they're holding back to lead us along, I hope this isn't too big of a spoiler, but we don't find out about Annie or the baby. I think we probably won't for a while.

Just finished watching DC. I actually really liked this episode (minus all the intestine-spillage). I thought there were quite a few Beth callbacks in it. My favorite line? Maggie spun some yarn about "Canada and a shipwreck." 😱

When Maggie mentioned Canada, I immediately thought of Tales. That he was headed to Canada. Of course, the shipwrecked parts stood out because well you know...

You guys know how bad I am with names so just excuse me. The girl that was originally with Negan who is being watched over by the group (I guess Maggie's group) while Maggie and Negan are away, they brought her to what is the kids’ school and was introduced by saying that she was from Oceanside. I'm wondering where this group of people, this community that Maggie and Herschel have been with is located.

Yeah, I don't know. Obviously, she isn't gonna just stay put and wait for Negan, so it will be interesting to see what her storyline is. When she left in the night, she went over to a bike. That's all we saw, but still. Bicycle symbolism.

Negan told a story about a girl "holed up in a car." He said she was "just a kid." Sounds like she was tortured and killed by the Croat eventually, but still. Negan then talked about having "one shot" and "missing." He was talking about the bad guy, rather than the girl, but they were all related, and it felt like a Beth parallel to me.

Then there was the part when the Marshal went into that apartment. I got such heavy WHAWGO vibes. There was the picture of the two brothers.

They weren't twins, but they were situated spatially in the photo the same way Noah's twin brothers were, and the way Robert Patrick's character and his twin brother were. Finding the dead guy, one of the brothers, in there felt similar to finding Noah's brothers.

And then there was the rosary he laid over him. We did see one of those with Carol at the end of S6, but Beth wore the original around her wrist at Grady. Oh, and the Marshal covered him with a blanket, much like Bethyl did to the Rich Bitch walker, and like Daryl almost did for Len, before changing his mind.

Even Maggie and Negan being imprisoned in the bathroom jumped out at me. I've harped on bathrooms since S4 when Rick escaped the Claimer house through the bathroom, and the walker that came after Carl in the pudding house (the one he shot in the forehead in the EXACT place Beth was shot) came out of the bathroom.

I also thought of The Same Boat. That wasn't a bathroom per se, but it was filmed on the same set as Saw, which featured a gross bathroom, toilet and all, and had a man who was presumed dead suddenly stand up and reveal himself to be alive at the end.

That may be all I have for now. I didn't really take notes, so I'm doing this from memory.

Negan had some funny lines. I loved his "how about everyone just untwist their undies." They featured it on the after-the-episode part, so I heard it twice, and laughed both times.

I also thought the flashback between Maggie and Hershel was super interesting. Not sure where they're going with that, but I look forward to learning more.

What do you think the purpose was of Maggie not making it all the way across the chasm? That seemed too purposeful to not foreshadow something, but nothing really came of it here. Just had me wondering.

It's hard to tell right now because they're just lying and foundation for the series, I did appreciate the description of the three (3) separate groups. I didn't take notes either, but I was so glad the showrunner/writer explained what was going on.

When Negan was talking about the girl in the car, I immediately thought of Beth. Not that I thought he was talking about Beth, but I felt that that was purposely put in to give a nod to us. I don't know that there will be any clues that would lead to anything about Beth in this spinoff, but I do think that they will sprinkle reminders throughout.

I have the same feelings as you did when I saw the bathroom, that it was a reminder of Same Boat.

That scene where Maggie was somewhat freezing up as the Walkers were coming at her and she was so hesitant to use the zip line, then got hung up. It did seem kind of purposeful and I was trying to wreck my brain to whether or not we had known she has a fear of heights, kind of like Carol in the caves in s10 with it being a reminder that Carol was claustrophobic, but I couldn't remember anything from Maggie's past. It might be something in recent years (in the show) that we will find out later about.

I was getting some screenshots for it. That always reveals new things to me because I'm watching more closely, instead of casually. It's nothing super groundbreaking, but I saw some interesting things, and a few insights on what we've already discussed.

First, the thing where Maggie didn't make it across on the zip line. Rewatching that part, I realized that the physics reason for why that happened is because she hesitated. She was clearly frightened of the distance down, and didn't want to just go for it. Her foot literally slips off the box, so she doesn't get the same momentum Negan and the first lady did. That's why she didn't make it to the other side. I still think that's a foreshadow, tho. Maggie being hesitant rather than going for it, and something goes wrong or something bad happens because of it.

The scene with the marshal we compared to WHAWGO? Watching it a second time, I realized it doesn't explain why he went there or how he knew to go there. He went looking for a gun, but it was gone. All he found was the box the gun used to be in. But how would he know it was there?

I think it's obvious he had been there before and knew the man who's body he found. That's probably why he covered him up: because he knew him. I'm wondering now if he, the marshal, is the second brother in the pictures. If so, that means he left his brother behind at some point. Between that, covering him up, and laying the rosary over him, it's an even more potent parallel to Beth.

Also, in that scene, he sees the corpse of his brother first in a mirror. I didn't catch that at first. So, it's a mirror image and then he turns and goes into the brother's room. Just kind of interesting.

And then about the girl--Ginny right?--who was with Negan? Something is bothering her about the water barrel. It's at Maggie's community, and like 3 different times she stops and stares at it, including at the end just before she steals the bike to leave. No idea what it means, but the fact that it's a water thing caught my attention. That's all. ;D

it's a straight up miracle that ml is a coherent and enjoyable show despite jeremy zag doing his level best to literally blow it up to smithereens in every possible aspect with his incompetence and ego. i want to say i'm astounded that morons on here and twitter are twisting themselves into pretzels trying to pin the blame on thomas instead of jeremy, but this is honestly par for the course with the collective brain worms disease that infects social media and especially the saltier and whinier parts of this fandom. also it's painfully obvious to anyone with a brain that a good 75% of the drama that thomas "caused" on twitter with snark about chronology/releases/writing/censorship/abruptly shortened story arcs was him having to cover up for jeremy's idiocy and greed to keep himself from being fired from his own show, but then again expecting a functioning brain cell is too much from most of you i guess.

anyway so I've been rewatching sg-1 again, picking up where i left off a few years back. neither of us had a hammond voice ready to hand for that stargate fusion we've been posting, so i rewatched "message in a bottle" (figuring that since it was a bottle show it would have a good modicum of hammond, which it did), and then i was like "i forgot how much i love this show" and started going again. so i have some brief notes / thoughts.

* serpent's song: s2 ep18, the one where apophis dies (mostly). the big plotty goa'uld-y episodes usually bore me, but this one was pretty well done. the apophis actor is really good. (i cannot seem to remember his name, because it's something like peter williams and my brain autofills peter wingfield, whom he is definitely not.)

* one false step: that one with the naked androgynous humanoids in white body paint, with the infrasound stuff and the yodeling. this was one of the very early ones i saw by chance, so i don't actually have much of an opinion on it, other than that sure was an episode of sg-1 that exists.

* show and tell: the one with the reetou, the invisible insectoid race. there are a lot of episodes where some kid bonds with jack, because rda is one of those rare actors who are absolutely delighted to be handed a scene with a kid or a dog in it. these eps usually live or die by the quality of the child actor. this one was no great shakes.

* 1969: a classic episode for a reason and a motherfucking delight. launched a thousand time-travel stories. the actor who plays baby hammond, except for his eyes being brown and him being a little taller i would still swear they actually went back in time and got a young don s davis to play himself. also teal'c in disguise and just everything. except possibly daniel's german accent. i'm not sure if it was specifically regional (my own german accent is heavily austrian, my portugese accent is from sao paulo, it's a thing) or just very bad. but everything else.

* out of mind: sg-1 was commissioned for four seasons at once, so they had the luxury of doing those cliffhanger season endings without getting cancelled on them. this one is mostly a clip show. and it brings back hathor, whom nobody really missed. good cliffhanger though.

* into the fire: s3 opener. much badass, very wow. jack gets goa'ulded, hammond gets to be teal'c's gunner, everything is epic.

* seth: in which sg-1 infiltrates a cult led by stargate's version of set. lots of uncomfortable (for me) thematic stuff about You Should Reconnect With Family. didn't enjoy it.

* fair game: the one where those three goa'uld system lords come to earth for treaty talks with the asgard, and there was that one promo photo that definitely looked like a pitch for a wacky sitcom.

* legacy: fucking ma'chello. even dead, he can't stop causing trouble. this is the one where daniel is Temporarily Schizophrenic Because Of Reasons and we have the evergreen trope of the Psychiatrist You Want To Punch. :P

* learning curve: another one where jack makes friends with an alien kid. felt like it ran way too long and nobody actually asked questions to understand the situation, but the heartwarming ending did stick the landing.

* point of view: the quantum mirror one where we establish that you can't have two of the same person alive in the same parallel reality or the secondary one will start to die of extremely '90s cgi. also one of the ones that really started to push the sam/jack. (i have complicated feelings about sam/jack. some other time.)

* dead man switch: the one where an annoying alien bounty hunter captures sg-1 and tries to make them do things. notable mainly for establishing the phrase "pain in the mik'ta". (Jack: "Neck?" Teal'c: "No.")

* demons: really fucking obnoxious episode that tried to have villagers whose culture came from medieval england believe the sg-1 team were demons. like, i can understand having an axe to grind against christianity, but this was just fucking stage christianity tropes, the fat corrupt churchman with the ring and the skinny good friar in a ratty robe, and a lot of blithering about demons and not even getting the damn St Michael prayer remotely right. Also the writer seemed to think trepanning would always kill the subject, and had *Daniel* of all fucking people be the mouthpiece for that one, when Daniel should know better than anyone that trepanning has been a valid medical procedure for millennia! (Also who the hell tries to treat chicken pox with trepanning I swear to god. This was a bad episode and it should feel bad.)

* rules of engagement: didn't remember this one at all. in which apophis had set up a mock sg team boot camp for his soldiers to practice infiltrating the sgc. no strong feelings.

* forever in a day: the one where sha're dies. actually very well done, but i'm glad i checked the summary or all the out of order stuff would have confused me a lot. sets up the search for the harcesis child, or however you spell that, the captions are not reliable because they appear to believe in the word "asguard" as opposed to "asgard".

* past and present: you know, i wouldn't have said the return of linnea would interest me at all, but it was actually very well done. wrapped up nicely.

* jolinar's memories / the devil you know: a two-parter i definitely didn't remember, in which everybody is good under torture, we seem to have taken care of sokar for the moment, and apophis returns, now with a phantom of the opera mask.

* foothold: never got to see this one before. wanted to. it's good. the sgc gets taken over by aliens impersonating all their people except sam and teal'c. badassery ensues. also maybourne gets to be a halfway decent guy for a flickering second.

and that is as far as i have gotten! season three is being kind of boring. seasons four and five have many more of the episodes I'm looking forward to.

LOD S6 - Ep 4 - The Rational Thoughts

**SPOILERS FOR LOD6**

So the theories are coming in as to who Jo Davidson is related to. I’ve also had time to process.

So I’ve re-watched **that** scene and listened to what Steve said and it is clear that the person Jo is related to is male. I missed that the first time, I thought he only used the pronoun “they” and had to check it a few times, but he said HE once. Also closed captions confirmed it as “he”.

Here are some of my thoughts.

Firstly, let's keep in mind that Kelly Mcdonald, who plays Jo was around 44/45 born in 1976, when it was made. I'm assuming the actors are playing their approximate real ages.

As a writer, when it comes to a series, your opening book / programme / series, is laying the foundations for the story. You come back to this time and time again and this has been true of LOD. The characters and themes from S1 are still here in S6.

There is also another element running through the entire series, all the links to VICE and historical sex abuse, actually including the real case of Jimmy Saville.

Jo is related to someone we’ve known from the early seasons.

The most popular theory is:-

Theory 1 - Jo is the daughter of Tommy Hunter.

Tommy's DoB in LOD is known as 10-May-1965. Jo is going to be around 1976. This theory is therefore pretty unlikely.

Theory 2 - Jo is the sister of Tommy Hunter.

Age wise, completely plausible. Tommy is canonically from Glasgow - Kelly MacDonald is Glaswegian.

However, if this is correct, I do not believe she is part of the OCG as mentioned in my previous LOD posts. Let's also not forget, Tommy Hunter was created by Jed and introduced in series one for a reason. He's massively important to the whole arc. He's so far been linked to seasons one and three.

ACC Milton

Now, the problem with these? If she knows she is related to any of these men, it would probably be in her personnel files. You normally have to declare relationships within an organisation such as the police. If, as I suspect, she’s not a bent copper, but someone trying to get to the same truth as AC-12, when she joined the force she would have no reason to fail to declare a connections to high ranking or long serving officers.

The exceptions to this would be Dot and Danny because she’s a little older than them - likely joined prior to them. There’s nothing in their known histories to link her though.

If she doesn’t know she is related, well, that’s an interesting can of worms!

There were so many visual effects in that scene I couldn’t even tell what was happening lmao it’s like reading manga battles

SPN Season 15 Spoiler Sheet, update 12/9

A few updates this week, some news on the writer/director of 13. 12 is looking packed, with potentially Cas, Jody, Jack, AND Kaia appearing. Still totally up in the air about airing dates past January. Maybe there might be some press around the mid-season finale, so I’ll look out for articles.

Just a note- if you want to use this for another publication, please drop me a line. The info is for the community, that’s why I take the time to gather it in one place. It’s nice that I’m a published author now in a major online entertainment website, but it would be nice if it was not someone else’s name in the byline. At least change some of the sentences around FFS. Otherwise, enjoy!

General Info (oldest to newest)

There is hope to wrap up some Wayward Daughters storylines in the back half of the season

They are adding a whole extra day to filming to do the final scene. They will film the final scene last. (Implies logistics- lots of returning people?)

Brad Bucker used the word “romance” when asked about Sam and Dean’s arcs. Did not specify who.

In an interview, Kripe indicated that the series ending would have “peace” for Sam and Dean

Not much new at the TCA’s, but it was said it is “unlikely” Jeffery Dean Morgan will be back since his last appearance was such a good end note. There were some jokes about a Castiel spin off. Hell, I’d watch.

There will be a special tribute ep, not clear if its one of the 20 or additional

Misha will be in 15 out of 20 episodes this season

Also according to Dabb, Jack is still in the empty and “he’s not coming back in the near future”

Cas’ deal with the Empty may come up later in the season.

Dabb intimated that Chuck was inherently responsible for killing Mary when asked how the boys would respond to Jack.

Dabb compared Chuck and John Winchester, claiming that Dean would have to break free of “conditioning.” Also, for Jack “there have been cosmic forces fighting for his attention since he was in the womb — and that will continue. As much as this season is about Sam and Dean finding agency, it’s also about Castiel finding agency, and it’s about Jack finding agency. As always, death is never the end. It’s just part of the journey and that’s certainly true with Jack.”

At a convention, Jake Abel was asked to share two lies about Adam’s return and a truth. The said 1. Adam is not upset about hell 2. Adam kills someone 3. Adam bring someone back. I am assuming its the bring someone back (Micheal?)

In one of his cookbook interviews, Misha used the word “we” several times when talking about the final scene of Supernatural. He said that would be the last scene they shoot. It seemed to imply that he was in the scene, but that could be open to interpretation.

The finale will air on Monday May 18th. The show will move to Mondays when it comes back on March 16th. It’s gotta come back either than that and go on a mini break or something, because that is not enough Mondays.

Dabb mentioned that once Sam realizes what is going on with his connection to Chuck, he will reach out to people “some we expect and some not”

The first Viewpoint magazine I read called ‘RISE UP’ actually speaks about this magazine as its ‘sister’ and recommends reading it as the topics link. As soon as I saw ‘Spirituality’ on the front cover I got excited and opened it to a random page, the page being something I’m really interested in and got even more excited to explore the book.

Page 3 of the book: IN GOOD SPIRITS

‘’Messages of self-awareness, respect for others and self-love are noticeably consistent’

‘Design’s roll in the new spirituality is enabling one supporting customers in their quest for a satisfying internal life. Key concepts include empowerment, enlightenment, vision, awe, wonder, calm and tranquility. Products, services and concepts that embed an extra layer of genuine meaning will find favour with adherents of the new spirituality. And beauty and joy also have their places - along with a deep appreciation of originality and creativity.’

This image reminds me of my little spiritual space at home, using objects like candles and incense to aesthetically make a room peaceful and aid in wellbeing. Later in the magazine there is a page dedicated to the creator of this work, Yield Design, Florida. It’s all about ‘playing with our emotional connection to scent, the series draws on elemental notes in these majestic spaces and distills feelings of wander and awe.’ This links with my want to connect to people emotionally through work, I’m thinking about how scent can be a part of the project..

Time over Time by Dawn Bendick. Bendick also has a section in the first Viewpoint magazine, ‘RISE UP’, where her piece expresses her feelings towards climate change. In this book she describes this piece as ‘a way of tapping into our peripheral senses and heightening awareness of changes in seasons, atmospheric light and weather’. She uses found objects, stones, crystals and glass to create her pieces. This reminds me of wanting to use my own stones and crystals in this project, but how?

Ritual Empowerment. This page describes my own spiritual practice and how intention and ritual are one of the ‘most powerful manifestations of the 20th-century’. This page reminds me of WHY I’m so focussed on self discovery, self love, connection to the planet, Earth connection, human connection and so on.. I have been very disconnected in the past, I wasn’t aware or conscious of anything at all, navigating through life based upon what the media and my family told me.

I want people to make the transformation I made, to become better, happier humans. To be in tune with their passions and desires. If we evolve individually we will evolve together, it is a collective conscious effort.

The caption - ‘ELEMENTAL HEALING - A global shift towards urban living is driving a feeling of psychoterratic disconnect.’ this section ‘explores a restored value in nature and the race to preserve it for future generations.’

What’s interested me about this section of the magazine is ‘The Tonic of Trees, The Healing Magic of Forest Bathing’ by Julia Plevin. Plevin says that her ‘psychological malaise’, which means psychological discomfort, is an effect of her concrete-jungle urban surroundings. I feel exactly the same.. I notice that the more time I spend in nature the happier I am, my positive mindset is consistent with my nature explorations, especially in the forest.

I spend a lot of time in nature when i’m home in Cardiff, I live within walking distance from natural woodlands, a river and a bus ride away from a mountain. This article is making me think of bringing nature into the home..? How can we connect to nature living in the concrete jungle?

This is the page that I immediately got excited about, this photo basically describes me at home, just kidding.. or am I?

I’m drawn to the colours, immediately thinking about the Crown Chakra and what the colour purple means to me spiritually, how it’s the highest vibrational colour, the colour of ‘magick’.. the name of the installation is ‘You Are Magic’ by The Hoodwitch which is basically what I want people to understand when looking at all of my art work, even when listening to my music, because it’s true. We are impossible beings with infinite creative power, why are so many so sad, stuck, lost? Why is the planet so sad, stuck, lost, with such powerful creatures living on it?

Of course the crystals in the background caught my eye too, there are lit up Selenite towers on the floor which i make and sell as well as a Quartz crystal grid in the background.

‘Studio Swines Ware Practice Duplex in collaboration with A/D/O focusses on the relationship between nature and technology, with many of the pieces incorporating plasma to capture bursts of light similar to those observed in the sun, stars, and comets.’ There isn’t much written about the installation in the book so i’ve found it on Dezeen. This reminds me of using my nature, crystals and stones, and linking them with technology.. digitally designing?

On this page there is a section called ‘The Spirit of Connection’ which talks about how ‘21st-century spiritualism is all about connection: to ourselves, to others and the wider environment.’ which is basically what my work is all about. It says that ‘Viewpoint has frequently touched on the role of creatives and brands as enablers, and on the importance of supporting positive movements within the global community’ - this makes me really happy, to know that the artistic work of us spiritual young people is being recognised by such large, important art magazines! I honestly didn’t realise that my concepts and ideas have been explored creatively already. I feel like i’ve found my place in the design world by reading this magazine.

Page 73:

‘People are increasingly seeking to experience heightened states of mental wellbeing’ - I hope to cause these experiences with my work..

Viewpoint describes the spiritual youth of today as ‘putting their faith int eh power of the metaphysical, where science and mysticism combine to create therapeutic sensorial experiences using immersive colour, light and sound’. Exactly what i’d like to do!

The images on this page remind me of Lepidolite Mica, an iridescent shiny light, flaky stone often used to make glitter. It’s bringing me towards using stones and crystals as materials, or using their beauty as inspiration for colour, texture, form, light..

Page 89:

‘Tom Sewell explores the relationship between humans and nature at a time when GPS, modern medicine and supermarket deliveries are accessible at the touch of a button. He investigates the interplay of the elements and the spiritual world through delicate drawings and totemic sculptures.

Sewell reflects on his ventures into nature, from the firths of Scotland to London’s Epping Forest, in order to create assemblages of organic matter, climbing rope and naturally died fabric. His ritualistic installations show respect for the natural world as well as hinting at a new mystical practice for the modern day that celebrates the rotting, uncanny beauty of the woods and the wilds.’

I’m intrigued by the concept behind Sewells work rather than the work itself which is why i’ve not shown images. He’s doing exactly what i’d like to do.

‘PRACTICE BEING IN YOUR NATURE’ “We are in a pint in the world where we’ve become very disconnected. Things are super-fast - we are very top heavy, we think so much. And we lead life from a strange sense that we are in control or can control everything, so we become detached from our energetic systems and our nervous systems” - this makes me think about how we no longer rely on our natural compass, our intuition or ‘gut instinct’.. aiding towards more disconnection.

Page 107 - 117:

A few pages about artists that, bellow are the ones that stand out.

I relate to Rachel Wingfield on very deep levels. ‘I feel very passionate about certain topics such as climate change and mass extinction’ - Rachel Wingfield

Shama Rahman speaks about flow, the work her and her crew does ‘addresses our ability to be in flow, harnessing the ability of our own consciousness’.

Ben Lindsay speaks about church and says that ‘apart from down the pub, it’s rare that you see such a mix of people’ and how the church accepts a mixture of people, it accepts everyone.’ This reminds me of the art space, the art gallery, exhibition, the creative project.. how art and design bring people together, not leaving anyone out. Everyone can relate to it, everyone can connect.

I practice modern witchcraft and haven’t found a better explanation than what’s said by The Hoodwitch in this article. I’m now drawn to expressing/demonstrating my own personal spiritual practice as it’s a clear example of what i’m trying to portray through my work, I am proof that my methods and ideas work towards connecting to ourselves, connecting to the planet and consciously evolving positively.

Why I think Yang is a lesbian

Considering Yang hit on boys in the first season she's probably Bi too.

Oh god not this shit again. First of all, she didn’t hit on the boys. She just said “I know I do” and then purred, as a response to Ruby saying she didn’t think their dad would approve of all the boys. Hitting on them would require actually interacting with them, which she made no attempt to do. While this moment could suggest Yang’s into guys, it could also be early installment weirdness, an expression of comphet, or even Yang just teasing Ruby. By no means does it invalidate the possibility of Yang being a lesbian, and while I’ll give you credit for at least not treating it as if it means she HAS to be bi, seeing as this is literally the only piece of evidence for Yang being into guys, it doesn’t exactly scream “probably Bi” to me. In fact, I think Yang is most likely a lesbian, and I’m gonna explain why. I’ve been meaning to make a post about this for quite some time anyway.

Okay, to start, Yang doesn’t seem to like men much. She has no notable positive relationships with any guy outside her family, has had guys express interest in her multiple times throughout the show and not once reacted positively to it, and she made a sarcastic comment on Sun’s “abs-out” attire in 2x06 that suggests she disapproves of it. That last one is especially interesting given it hardly gels with her approving purr at the shirtless dudes in 1x03 if one interprets said moment as an expression of genuine interest in men. And then of course there’s the fact that she’s obviously into Blake. That shouldn’t need explaining, and there’s plenty of posts out there that already cover this. So anyway, already in the show itself we can see that Yang is into girls and may not be into guys. But we’re not done yet. There’s been some recent evidence in the past couple months the makes me especially confident that Yang is a lesbian. At a panel a couple months ago, Yang’s VA was asked if Yang is a lesbian, and not only did no one bring up that one moment from 2x03 or act like Yang couldn’t possibly be a lesbian, but both she and Blake’s VA (who is bi) said they hope she’s a lesbian. Furthermore, from what I’ve heard one of Yang’s VA’s recent IG stories was a picture of a Yang figure captioned with “G...Yang”. There’s also Blake’s bi flag association in the Adam short and arguably volume 1 as well, while Yang has had no such association with the bi flag. In fact, if anything she’s been associated with the rainbow pride flag, what with the fight with Neon, the ticket for a ship named “Pride”, and the recent chibi ep where Bumblebee emitted rainbows. (”Suck rainbow authority figures”) And while this flag symbolizes LGBT+ folks in general, it’s most strongly associated with homosexuality, and when a character is associated with it it’s usually an indication that they’re gay. Hell, Ilia, a known lesbian, is associated with rainbows. It’s also worth noting that the lesbian flag doesn’t really lend itself to this type of symbolism seeing as its colors are basically all different shades of pink, and it’s not as well known as a lot of the other LGBT+ flags.

Anyway, that’s why I think Yang is a lesbian. Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.

S.V - Ep. 1: The Way Things Are

In Outer Space, we see a beautiful image of the Earth as Eurasia, the giant Reploid Space Colony orbits it.

From a deserted park area, located in between a bay and a city in Oregon, we zoom to a small modest base of operations. Attached to it’s right side is a large beam cannon pointed at the sky, and directly behind the base is the rigging for a recently acquired Space Shuttle, which is being loaded in by a series of Maverick Hunters.

Caption: December 5th, 1:00 PM

SIGNAS: (v.o, narrating) It has been 3 years, and things are finally starting to feel normal, again. As normal as can be anyway…

Signas sits at his center console, surrounded by his four main dispatchers who are working quietly at their desks.

SIGNAS: (v.o, narrating) Ever since the Repliforce War ended, the Government has cut our funding. We were forced to downsize and move out of Abel City, California. I have successfully relocated the remaining Hunters here, in Hexagon Bay. /

At the dash, he /pulls up a list of the Elite Shinobi Unit, which displays their names and a small mugshot of their faces: X, ZERO, TAU, VENZO & TAKUMA.

SIGNAS: (v.o, narrating) We now consist of two Combat Teams… /

He /pulls up a second list - the Special Ops Unit: RECON RACCOON, SCORCHE, BARYON, FRENZY FOX, FREEZE ALOPEX, TURIAN, TETHLON, BLIZZARD & BLAZE.

SIGNAS: (v.o, narrating) …a /Recovery Team and a small /Supportive Staff.

He /pulls up a third list for the Recovery Team: GREEN NOIR, RHO, SIERRA, OLIVER, SNOWBALL, SNOWFLAKE & FROSTBITE.

Then, he /pulls up a final list for his Medical and Supportive Staff: PSI, CASSANDRA, LIFESAVER, LUCAS, DAVE, HECTOR, KIRK & DOUGLAS.

SIGNAS: (v.o, narrating) /Lucas and /David, from Dr. Cain’s Research Division are now with me. They have moved up to Central Command along with my new hires, /Hector and /Kirk.

At each dash, we zoom in to the familiar faces of /Lucas and /David, followed by the new faces of /Hector and /Kirk.

SIGNAS: (v.o, narrating) I have also just hired a new navigator, who will aid X and the Maverick Hunters on their missions. But first, she needs to train…

ALIA, a reploid in pink and black armor with short blonde hair and a headset built into her headband, is seen at her computer desk. She takes a deep breath and watches X enter their new training room. After shaking the nerves of her first day, she com-links to him from her switchboard.

ALIA: Hello, my name is Alia, your new Navigator! Let’s begin your training. Are you ready, X?

X nods with a smile as he admires their new training course.

X: It’s been years since I’ve been in a training simulator. It’s time to get back on track. I’m looking forward to this.

ALIA: (o.s, filtered) Me too. I’ll navigate you as you are a novice Maverick Hunter.

The smile on his face quickly wears off.

X: Excuse me??

SIGNAS: (o.s, filtered) Er- Not quite, Alia.

Just then, Alia’s heart skips a beat. She lets out a short gasp.

SIGNAS: (o.s, filtered) X is a Legendary Maverick Hunter, who has saved our planet, many times.

ALIA: Oh my God! Wait…! You’re.. the one who saved us on Laguz Island! And.. stopped Doppler!!! Ohh, my goodness, how could I botch that up? We’ve met before!!!

X: (filtered, staggered) Uhh, yeah..!

On the screen, he slumps his shoulders and raises his hands, looking confused and slightly annoyed.

ALIA: I’m so sorry. I was reading from a script..

She shuffles her prompt papers and lets out a nervous sigh.

X: (filtered, confused) Huh?

- pan to -

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- INT. NEW MHHQ – Control Room – DAY -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Signas smirks at the screen as he chimes in to his somewhat flustered comrade.

SIGNAS: Just go with it, X. Remember, this Training Simulation is more for her as a Navigator, than you as a Hunter.

X: (filtered) Uh huh…

On screen, he folds his arms and straightens his posture again.

SIGNAS: Just pretend that you’ve never been in the field before, and take her advice accordingly.

X: (filtered) ..Alriight. Shall we??

ALIA: (o.s, filtered) Yes.

X shakes the miffed look off of his face and puts his hands at his side. He clenches his fists, ready to begin their session.

Signas looks at the other screens from his console displaying Hunter activity and focuses his attention elsewhere.

SIGNAS: (v.o, narrating) While X begins his training, the rest of our units pursue their struggle to win back the public’s trust.

EXT. NEWPORT – Suburbs - DAY

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Caption: 1:15 PM

Along the streets of a neighboring town, a young girl cries about her kitty who is stuck in a high tree.

Green Noir and Sierra from the Recovery Unit appear with friendly faces and open arms. The girl gasps in fear at the sight of them.

GREEN NOIR: Don’t worry. We’re here to help.

SIERRA: We got this, honey.

GIRL: (scared) /Oh!

Sierra /high-jumps and climbs the tree swiftly. The kitten arches it’s back and hisses at Sierra, but she is able to snatch it before it can jump away.

GIRL: Oh my Gahaaaaad…

Sierra lands and hands the kitten over to the girl, who desperately holds her cat and tries to calm down.

Suddenly sirens blare and two cop cars arrive.

GREEN NOIR: Oh man…

SIERRA: Here we go…

SQUAD CAR: (filtered) Stop right where you are! You are under arrest. This is the Newport Police Department, and you are not welcome here.

A heavily armored officer exits his vehicle and calls out.

OFFICER 1: GET THOSE REPLOIDS OUTTA HERE!!!!!

The two of them sigh and teleport away.

INT. NEW MHHQ – R & D Lab – DAY

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Alia buries her face in her hands, embarrassed at her first day flop.

ALIA: (v.o, thinking) Jeez, Alia. That was stupid-stupid-stupid!!! What were you thinking!?

She lets out a short sigh and shakes her head.

ALIA: (v.o, thinking) What a way to break the ice…

She regains her composure as she watches X maneuver through their obstacle course, until reaching his first enemy mechaniloid – a spike marl.

The spike marl rolls after him, and opens up it’s little sphere-shell to reveal it’s tiny legs and eye-cannon. She decides to chime in.

ALIA: Enemy ahead of you! Use your X-Buster. Then, you can attack it from a distance.

X: (filtered) Uhhh, I know…

He raises his buster on screen.

ALIA: (put off) Hm..

-cut to-

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- INT. NEW MHHQ – Training Room –DAY -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

ALIA: (o.s, filtered) Also, keep holding on to your trigger, then/-

He /blasts it down easily with a Charge Shot.

ALIA: (o.s, filtered) Oh..

X: (smirking) Heh.

He jumps over to see a few holes in the terrain of the obstacle course ahead of him.

ALIA: (o.s, filtered) Enemy in the hole, underground. Remember: Your shots don’t penetrate through the land. So, if you want to attack enemies, take advantage of the lay of the land.

X: (smiling) That is actually great advice!

X concentrates his aim on the small spike marl.

ALIA: (o.s, filtered) In this situation, take advantage of the terrain, ignore the enemy and jump over it. You can adjust how far you jump by how long you pressurize your gauges.

X: That part, not so much.

He ignores her and destroys the enemy with a couple of level 1 shots.

X: Always destroy the enemy if you can help it.

He far jumps over to the next ramp ahead on the obstacle course. This time, a pink walk shooter is waiting for him, just slightly out of his normal reach.

ALIA: (o.s, filtered) Hm.. Your enemy is in a difficult place to attack, but that is common in real life situations. Consider how to attack where you cannot attack by normal methods…

X: (nodding, patiently) Mmhhmmm.

ALIA: (o.s, filtered) Your charge shot has a wide attacking range, and if you shoot while crouching…/-

He /blasts it down with another charge shot before Alia can finish her sentence.

ALIA: (o.s, filtered) Right.. Sorry.

X: (smiling) It’s okay. I could’ve used advice like that when I first started.

-pan to-

Alia watches her screen with a slightly glum look on her face.

ALIA: (v.o, thinking) Hmm… I can’t tell if this is going well or not…

SIGNAS: (v.o, narrating) While our new Navigator seems to be having a rough start, our Special Forces Unit have arrived in Salem just in time to investigate a larger threat. This could be good exposure for us.

EXT. SALEM – Pioneer Bank – DAY

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Caption: 1:30 PM

SIGNAS: (v.o, narrating) The local authorities have not been making it easy…

On a hot Sunday afternoon in the middle of a somewhat busy town, everything seems to be just fine outside of the Pioneer Bank when out of nowhere, it explodes from the inside!

*BWWWOOOOOOOSSSSHHHHH*

The flames and ashes scare the surrounding civilians into a panic. Cars drive away as fast as possible, while others run for their lives.

On the other side of the street, Turian, Tethlon, Blizzard and Blaze make their appearance, ready to save the day.

TURIAN: Looks like we got here just in time, gang.

BLAZE: (annoyed) I’d say it was too late, if you ask me!

The Maverick responsible for the attack makes his escape through a side of the building out of what remains of the surrounding walls. He is large and top heavy, with overly sized muscles from the torso up. This allows him to carry a huge vault of cash over his shoulder.

MAVERICK: Huhuhuh. HAHAHAHA! This is too easy.

BLIZZARD: That, bastard!!

TETHLON: Let’s go.

The gang swiftly walks over to the gloating Maverick who is cackling with glee.

MAVERICK: Eeehehehehehee!!!!!

TURIAN: Put that down, big guy.

TETHLON: We don’t wanna hurt ya.

MAVERICK: HAH! What are you wimps gonna do?

Blaze ignites her fists, annoyed.

BLAZE: We’re gonna take care of you!! Come on Sis!!

BLIZZARD: (nodding) Right.

BLIZZ & BLAZE: TWIN FISTS!! /YAH!!

The two of them /shoot powerful fire and ice from their respective hands, which spiral around each other into a large combined Charge Shot.

MAVERICK: Huaah??

He tries to guard his face from the oncoming blast, but it is too powerful. The Twin Fists knock him down, causing an explosion from his chest. This forces the vault onto the ground, which puts a huge dent on its side. Large quantities of money seep out into the street while Turian sets his ice cannon.

TURIAN: We gotta finish this quick, before the cops come.

TETHLON: Yep.

SIGNAS: (v.o, narrating) Despite our best efforts, the police have declared all Reploids an enemy of the state. Ever since the fallout of the Great Repliforce War, Mavericks and Hunters have been treated alike by the human race. We are not welcome here… but we still fight the good fight.

Turian blasts the Maverick down with a powerful wave that freezes him while Tethlon creates a large boulder from his buster. When Tethlon releases the boulder, it crushes the foul reploid.

TURIAN: (smiling) That’s it.

The sirens blare.

BLAZE: Shit! It’s the cops.

TETHLON: Oh, great…!

SQUAD CAR: (filtered) FREEZE, Reploids. This is the Salem City Police!

TURIAN: Come on guys, this is enough.

TETHLON: You sure about this?

TURIAN: (nodding) Yeah. Let’s go. Just as we rehearsed…

TETHLON: (worried) Alriiight.

The gang hops on their nearby Ridechasers and quickly leave the scene as the cops chase them down in their squad cars. Turian leads the group as they weave in and out through the city streets.

SIGNAS: (v.o, narrating) Wait, what’s this??

-cut to-

Hector and Kirk look horrified at their monitors as they attempt communication with the team on their boards.

HECTOR: Turian, what are you doing!?

KIRK: Get out of there!! Do you read???

Only static can be heard from the other end.

KIRK: Shoot! His com-link is off.

HECTOR: Commander, should I force teleport?

SIGNAS: (curious, slightly amused) No… Lets see where this goes first.

They look at him surprised, but follow through with his orders. David and Lucas smile at each other. David points at Signas with his thumb while looking at his buddy, Lucas.

DAVID: I love this guy.

LUCAS: (smiling) Yeah, man.

He focuses back on his monitor.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- INT. NEW MHHQ – Training Course – DAY -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Along his obstacle course, X dashes further ahead until he bumps into a familiar mechaniloid with two arm cannons and a fearsome, beastly nose cannon.

ALIA: (o.s, filtered) Giant enemy ahead of you.

X: Yep, the Dejira… I remember those.

ALIA: (o.s, filtered) This type of enemy doesn’t move, but specializes in durability. Pay attention to their attack pattern and attack them with your charge shot or a special weapon that works on them.

X: Well, since I don’t have any special weapons, my Charge Shot is gonna have to do.

ALIA: (o.s, filtered) Actually, you’d be surprised about that.

X: Hm?

ALIA: (o.s, filtered) Try calling upon your Force Armor. I took the liberty of downloading it into the simulator, so you can practice your better moves.

X: Really!?? My Force Armor?? But, I haven’t used that in years!

ALIA: (o.s, filtered, encouraging) Go for it.

X: Uh, okay... Here goes nothing. ..Hrrrrrrr/AH!

He focuses his energy, and almost effortlessly transforms with a white flash of light. Suddenly, an enhanced version of his armor emits from his body and shines. Donning a pristine, white and blue armor, accented in gold with touches of red, this version of his Fourth Armor looks like it has never seen a day in combat.

X: Wow!! Alia, how did you do this!?

ALIA: (o.s, filtered) I reconstructed your armor using the Archive Data we have of the Great Repliforce War. Consider it an apology for calling you a novice, before.

X looks at his white and blue gauntlets, amazed. Then, he charges up and points his buster at the idle Dejira.

X: /Wow!

He/shoots a brilliant large plasma shot, which puts a big smile on X’s face. The huge blast leaves a residual ball of plasma energy, which erodes it’s armor and fleetingly destroys the enemy.

ALIA: (o.s, filtered) Sure! After a quick glance at your file, I noticed that your armor fades after periods of non-use. So, I figured it couldn’t hurt to have it, just in case.

X’s eyes widen. After taking care of the walk shooters, he drops down and looks ahead with a smile.

X: Whoa… Well, thanks a lot! This is great!!

The cops cannot keep up, but they do not quit either.

Baryon makes static electricity from his hands, clenches his fists and pounds the concrete heavily. With his fists in the pavement, he moves his electrical pulses through the ground as they reach the squad cars and shock the cars from their undercarriages, effectively shutting them down and stalling them out in the middle of the road.

OFFICER 1: HUH??

OFFICER 2: What the Hell is that???

Recon Raccoon smirks as their cars slow down before them and almost come to a full stop.

He kicks out his foot, which dents the hood of the first car and stops it. Then he holds out his gun with a wink.

OFFICER 1: Armed Reploid! Get out and engage!!!

The armored officer gets out of his car, as the rest follow suit.

RECON RACCOON: Sorry… But we’re savin’ the day, this time.

After kick-jumping up the wall, he spots something new.

ALIA: (o.s, filtered) Can you see the yellow rope in front of you? Jump to it and use your wire hook! Then you can grab the rope.

X: (smiling) Now, that’s new!

Recon Raccoon shoots an officer with a containment blast from his heavy gun. The electric band wraps around the officer’s chest plate and stuns him down to the ground. With his armor affected, he cannot move.

His partner angrily pulls out his gun and takes charge.

OFFICER 2: You call this saving the day!!? /You’re under arrest!!

The rest of the officers /pull up their guns.

FRENZY FOX: All weapons on stun, boys. You know the deal.

SCORCHE: Yeah, yeah…

Frenzy takes out his electric whip and lets out a containment band, similar to Raccoon’s blast. Scorche pulls out a pistol rather than his flame whip and fires a containment shot as well.

OFFICER 2: Evasive Maneuvers!!

The armored officers quickly scatter with their dash boots and high jump away with the aid of thrusters from the back of their armor.

BARYON: Nope. Not today.

He holds out his hands and carefully emits three electrical pulses; two from his hands and one from his visor. The pulses effectively stun and contain the remaining officers.

They all fall to the ground and struggle.

OFFICER 1: (struggling) Gah!! You’ll never get away with this. What is the meaning of this???

INT. NEW MHHQ – Training Course - DAY

X takes out his new wire hook, and uses it on a short yellow wire for the first time. The wire hook effortlessly clasps on to the wire without any trouble and allows X to freely hang on the rope, while moving over to the next platform. Multiple spike marls are underneath him, which he is freely able to shoot down with his other X-buster.

He jumps from rope to rope, encountering a hover gunner in the process. With an instinctive level 1 pellet, he destroys it and moves on to a vertical rope that leads down into the next section of his Training Course. As he descends down the hallway, he shoots a spike marl below him and lands.

He looks ahead and destroys a hover gunner instantly. Then, he dash-jumps over to another rope and descends further towards the floor below

X dashes with a smile as he spots some more walk shooters and hover gunners ahead.

X: Let’s go!

As he takes them out, Alia breaks her silence.

ALIA: (o.s, filtered) Watch the floor in front of you… Can you see the-

X: Deadly spike trap ahead. Yeah, yeah I know…

ALIA: Uh..In cases like this, do a dash-jump..

X: I know, Alia! You don’t have to tell me everything..

He impressively destroys the mechaniloids in the room with swift shots from his X-Buster. Then, with a hurdle over a medium sized wall, he spots a gate in front if him.

Momentarily triumphant, Recon Raccoon walks over to the disgruntled police officers.

RECON RACCOON: You may not remember us, but we’re the Maverick Hunters. And /THAT… over there… was a Maverick!

At the dash, he points to the scene of the crime, where Turian’s gang had quelled the threat.

RECON RACCOON: We eliminated the threat for you, and yet somehow we’re the ones that are apprehended. Now tell me, why is that?

OFFICER 1: All Reploids… are scum.. and need to be eradicated.

RECON RACCOON: (unfazed) Uh huh… I’ve heard that before, pal.

OFFICER 1: We will eliminate you all one day. Only then, will we be free.

RECON RACCOON: Oh, really?? Well don’t forget that your real enemy is sitting right there, fried in the middle of the street.

FRENZY FOX: You’re welcome by the way!

MAGMA DRAGOON: X and Zero… You’ve arrived. I can’t believe It’s really you!

They both narrow their eyes.

X: Dragoon! Why did you betray the H.Q.!?

He hesitates to answer. He can only offer them a wicked smile.

MAGMA DRAGOON: ………

ZERO: (annoyed, firm) Why did you betray us?! …Answer me, Dragoon!

MAGMA DRAGOON: …You’re so naive. …Listen closely. I let the Sky Lagoon fall! And I’d do it again! Ha ha ha ha ha ha!

He angrily charges after the artificial program, which hops and does a narrow flame kick, right before him.

X back-dashes and blasts him with a fully charged plasma shot.

Taking the hit, the A.I fires a Hadouken at him.

X easily crouches and blasts him from below.

X simply jumps and hovers with his thrusters above the hadouken, while charging another shot.

He blasts him, which affects him deeply. Then, he lands.

X: (disappointed) Hm… This A.I isn’t as strong as the original.

X dashes after him and throws some swift punches at his open points. Magma Dragoon just misses catching his punches each time, until he throws a Dragon Punch in retaliation, which X easily reads. He dodges the uppercut at close range and hard kicks Magma Dragoon down to the ground. Then, he charges up once again, unleashing another heavy Charge Shot upon him, which completely leaves him open.

X: Take this, Dragoon…

He powers up as his entire body ignites with bright energy. In one fell swoop, he thrusts his entire body into an air-dash toward the A.I of Magma Dragoon. He destroys the A.I in record time with a Nova Strike.

ALIA: (o.s, filtered) Whoa!

SIGNAS: (o.s, filtered) Nice one, X.

X: (disappointed) Hmph… This one was significantly powered down, from the original. I can tell…

ALIA: (o.s, filtered) …Believe it or not… He had the same specs. You just got that much better.

X’s eyes widen.

His fist glows blue and then flames up into a fiery, red state. The flames grow across his arm and cover his body as a glowing aura of gold surrounds him. Then, the aura covers his body with pure power.

He stares in awe of X’s new attack, as X launches himself with a swift air-dash, directly into him.

MAGMA DRAGOON: GYYAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!!

X rams into his chest as his Nova aura breaks off his torso and completely disintegrates his legs.

The broken, defeated Maverick looks up at X with tired, hurt eyes.

Zero slowly gets up with wide eyes as he looks at the damage, X has done. He walks over and stands by his exhausted partner as they look down at their former friend.

SIGNAS: (v.o, narrating) Yes, things certainly have been interesting for us, as we’ve re-established ourselves in Hexagon. However, we fear that this minor time of peace may be coming to an end. Maverick Activity has been picking up lately and the Local Authorities are not having us. The Repliforce has been silent as well, which is a slight concern. Their Colony still orbits directly above our planet, although it is not currently considered a threat. I just hope that Eurasia truly is a new breeding ground for Reploids to thrive off planet, and not just a place for them to reload their weapons.

We zoom out from the new Maverick Hunter Headquarters to see their boastful beam cannon and the large Space Shuttle resting at the sides of their base.

SIGNAS: (v.o, narrating) For this reason, we have taken their unfinished Enigma cannon and acquired an old Space Shuttle from NASA. It seems that we’ll finally be able to adhere to Dr. Cain’s last wishes after all. He had always hoped we would create a Space Unit one day to explore the unknown… Once its ready, we plan to visit Eurasia to see what is really going on up there.

We zoom in to the Space Colony Eurasia. What was once a thriving Reploid Community has now been mysteriously destroyed by a tall assassin. His long white hair wafts in the artificial wind of the Colony as his crimson visor partially glimmers from the artificial sunset behind him. The shady figure stands amidst the desolation, tall and proud as he reports to his latest contractor.

Caption: 4:25 PM – Eurasia Time

DYNAMO: Yes, it’s ready… Piece of cake. The Colony is still alive.. I can let it fall at any time… Please let me do it now. I’m getting bored. All I have to do is… go back to the Earth and scatter the Virus.

Over coms, the mysterious voice of his contractor speaks.

SIGMA: (o.s, filtered) You’re exactly what I expected… You’re doing a good job… hee hee hee.

DYNAMO: Nobody dares to fight against you, except those stupid Maverick Hunters. I’ll do anything for you, anything…

SIGMA: (o.s, filtered) Good… I’m going to Earth to execute our plan. Stay where you are and await further instruction.

DYNAMO: But I don’t think you need to do it personally. Are they really a threat? Are X and Zero really so strong that you can’t let someone else do it?

SIGMA: Hee hee hee. Yes, in a manner of speaking.. Zero… I’ll show you what you really are and who your true enemy is… Hee hee hee hee. Bwah ha ha ha ha ha!!!!
