Tumblr media
Rolling onto your side you groan curling up into a fetal position. It seemed the best one to relieve the stabbing pain in your stomach. Once the worst wave of pain passed you wiped the tears from your eyes and grab the remote control deciding to distract yourself with something, anything on the telly.
Water and medication would have been beneficial but you had no energy and the thought of getting up sounded like a form of medieval torture. Part of you wished you could call someone for help. If only your phone wasn’t out of charge. A self berating wave of self pity washes over you as you finally fall asleep, rigid and spent.
You were so out of it you barely hear the front door opening 22 minutes later.
“Y/N? Y/N?” Her voice filters through the fog of your brain. Your eyes flicker open but they feel heavy, like lead. The lights are bright forcing your eyes closed. You will them open again and a blur of dark blue and red hair move in front of you. You feel yourself being shifted. A light shines in your eyes.
“Nat?” you groan when a light sting spreads across your cheek.
“C’mon now you need to drink some water” she says leaning over you helping you get upright.
The minute her hands are on you, you remember you hadn’t showered in days and probably looked like death personified.
“You shouldn’t be here. You could get infected” you try but fail to hide the numb, somnolent panic to your plea.
“I’m not going anywhere,” she says calmly, staring her determination into you. Her green eyes blazed, indomitable, and she was never more beautiful than she was right then.
She hands you a glass of coconut water. “Drink” she instructs.
You gladly accept it taking a generous gulp. A little trickles down your chin and you quickly wipe it with the sleeve of your shirt. You notice that your clothes aren’t stiff with your own crusty dried vomit. The realisation hits you like a tonne of bricks when you look down and see yourself in a fresh set of joggers and matching tee.
“You changed me?” you ask.
“Yes.” She nods as your face turns a beet red. “I also gave you a sponge bath well because…” she trails off before quickly adding, “Why? Self conscious?”
“Urgh,” you groan loudly and she chuckles. “Only that I shit myself and was covered in vomit. Not exactly how I pictured you seeing me for the first time, you know?”
“You pictured that huh?” she asks smirking.
You screw your eyes shut and wrinkle your nose realising that you had just exposed one of your deepest secrets to her.
“You’re not a good person, picking on a dying person” you say your eyes still closed.
She starts to laugh and you feel the whole bed shake with her. “You’re not dying. And I never said I was a good person” she says enjoying herself.
This makes you look at her. And once you do you’re trapped by the foliant blaze of her green eyes. She doesn’t look away. You watch each other. Her eyes were softer, far softer than you had ever remembered them.
She then pushes a lock of hair behind her ear with her thumb and forefinger. You find that you liked the hard-edged cleverness of her conversation, and the easy way she held your eyes until the precise moment when it stopped being comfortable, like right now, and then smiles, softening the assail, but never looking away.
She knew. She had to know.

✨ 2023 writing round-up ✨
Edit: must have accidentally copied someone else’s intro without realising 😂
I’ve posted 57,184 words to ao3 this year (I also started in June) I have almost the same number of words in my wips 😭 This year has been crazy and this fandom has provided me so much joy, not just writing but getting to know all my wonderful mutuals <3 The 911 brainrot is strong and I can’t wait to see what 2024 brings!
I posted the more words to Ao3 this year than I have in any other previous year, which is wild since I only really started writing again in June. It's wild the choke hold that Eddie Diaz and Evan Buckley have on me. Here's my writing round-up for 2023 :)
June
I posted my first fic on June 20 and in nine days I had posted 6 fics 😂
I ain't proud of all the punches that I've thrown
Teen | 826w
Rage, like a broken window to an oxygen-deprived room that’s already in flames, explodes within him and almost takes him out. He resists the urge to slam the phone’s receiver into the wall until it's just fragments of plastic that dig into the palm of his hand, drawing blood. He breathes through his nose and then out of his mouth and repeats that until he gets himself under control. or Eddie's in Jail and he almost calls Buck.
You with the dark curls, you with the watercolour eyes
Mature | 1.6k
Blue eyes meet his, washed out in the morning light, he's like the watercolour paintings they had seen in the museum with Chris last week, soft and fuzzy around the edges, with just a hint of bright colours. Blue like the sky, splashes of pink at his eyebrow and lips. Those lips, that still looked bruised from last night. Or The morning after Buck and Eddie finally get together.
asking all these questions, just to be polite, while dying inside
Teen | 1.2K
But Eddie looks good, like really good, like how is anyone allowed to look that good in jeans and a green henley? His hair is all fluffy which means he hasn't put any product in it, he wonders if it still smells like the green apple conditioner that Eddie and Chris liked to use. There's a new wrinkle at the corners of his eyes like he's been smiling a lot these last few years and it shouldn't hurt this much to know that Eddie's been happy without him but it does. or Buck dreams of what it would be like to lose Eddie as a friend and run into him five years down the line and having to ask all of these stupid questions just to be polite while dying inside.
Tapping Morse Code into your heart
Explicit | 2.8k
Buck can’t keep still. It was a known fact that some part of Buck’s body will be in constant motion, and when it wasn’t? You should be concerned. A bouncing knee, an elastic band wound around his fingers, head bopping, fingers tapping Morse code he had learned on a whim after Eddie told him that he knew it. So Buck can’t stay still even if his life depended on it. Or in this case an orgasm. And Eddie-well Eddie is annoyed. or Buck and Eddie use Morse Code to communicate when words can't be said.
I want you to be selfish with me
Mature | 4.6k
When Eddie gets the call is 12.24 am. He’s lying awake in bed, trying to avoid spiralling but failing when his phone lights up, vibrating and blaring out the stupid song Buck had changed his ringtone to. “So you know it's me calling.” Eddie didn’t say that he always knew it was Buck calling even without the ringtone. Buck’s the only one that calls him this late at night, it's also the only time Buck calls since he prefers to text during the normal hours of the day. Eddie sighs, dragging a hand over his face, looks like trying and failing to fall asleep is going to have to wait. His other hand reaches for his phone, answering. “Buck,” He says, he can hear a lot of background noise, voices and music, so it’s not an ‘I woke up from a nightmare and I needed to make sure you're still alive’ call. “Eddie,” Buck slurs, drunk, “Eds, Eds, did I wake you?” or Buck called Eddie while drunk and Eddie ends up using some of his military training to save him.
You bring me comfort
Teen | 4.1k
Frank asks him “When was the last time you were hugged?” He’d hugged Chris that morning. “No, I mean the last time you were held” He didn’t really understand the difference, he regularly hugs Christopher, Tia Pepa, Abuela, and even a few quick hugs with Buck which never seem like enough. “Not you holding someone else, comforting someone else, just purely someone holding you because you need it” Eddie thinks back to the hospital, thinks back to seeing Shannon’s body on the gurney, the way Bobby’s arms had gone around him and held him up. “When Shannon died, Bobby, my Captain, he-he hugged me” It had been so long ago, years and before that? He couldn’t remember. Frank doesn’t exactly give him homework called “get hugged” but he suggests that Eddie should ask for want he wants next time he needs comfort instead of putting on the sweater. or Eddie is touched starved and just needs a hug instead, instead he has his sweater.
July
I Can See You
Teen | 3.1k
Eddie gets out of his truck and watches as Buck sings along to whatever song is playing in his car. It’s captivating but Eddie thinks many things about Buck are. He’s unashamed as he belts, singing into his phone like it’s a microphone. Buck looks up and makes eye contact with Eddie, who can feel his lips stretched in a smile. Buck smiles back, continuing his impromptu show, now singing to Eddie even though he can’t hear it from across the parking lot. Eddie watches for a minute or so before walking over to Buck’s jeep, drawn to him like he has his own gravitational pull, stronger than the earth's as if Buck is the only reason Eddie hasn’t gone floating off into space yet. As he gets closer he can hear the muffled music, he can see the blue of Buck’s eyes as they gleam from joy. Eddie can barely make out the words: I see you, I see you, baby, Oh, baby OR Buck’s a Swiftie and he makes Eddie listen to Speak Now (TV) and accidentally confesses his love because of the song I Can See You
Alright, Cowboy, Go Get 'Em
Explicit | 17k | 2/3
“What can I get you?” The bartender asks as Eddie slides up to the bar. “Whiskey, neat, thanks” “Make that two” A voice says from beside him, Eddie turns and takes in a black leather protection vest that’s undone over a bright blue button-down shirt. He drags his eyes up, over pale skin, an adam apple and stubble to blue eyes a shade or two lighter than his shirt. His white cowboy hat is back on, it makes the pink mark on his eyebrow stand out. There's a small smirk on his lips that Eddie does not linger on. “Evan Buckley,” He says, holding out his hand. Eddie clears his throat, “Eddie Diaz” He says shaking the offered hand, noticing the callous and firm grip before pulling back. OR What if Eddie had never left El Paso? What if Buck became a bull rider after being a ranch hand? After Eddie gets back from Afghanistan and Shannon divorces him some of his high school buddies decided to drag him to the rodeo to cheer him up. I don’t think they had in mind Eddie getting blown by a rodeo star behind the stable but it sure did improve his mood. Now Eddie can’t get Buck out of his mind and he might just become a rodeo regular.
Under the Guise of Violence
Explicit | 3k
Buck was kneeling. Not in the way Eddie had too frequently fantasised about, though from the lascivious smile on his face, maybe in a way Buck had fantasised about. There’s a cut above his right eyebrow, it’s a reflection of his pink birthmark, his nose is broken and blood-half dried-is trailing down to those plump pink lips. Eddie has to force himself to drag his eyes away. His hand tightens on the pummel of his sword, careful of its sharp edge that rests against the fragile skin of Buck’s neck. He doesn’t know how they got here. OR Eddie can't touch Buck unless it's to hurt him, after a sparring match Buck confronts him and it leads them back to Eddie's bedroom.
August, September and October I didn't post any fic- I was moving country and could not finish a fic to save my life 😂
November
nicknames, supernova similes and the family we make
Teen | 800w
“Bobby, I’d like you to meet, Robin Buckley-Diaz,” Buck looks at the small bundle in his arms, bright blues staring right back up at him, “This is your Grandpops.” Bobby clears his throat, “Grandpops?” Buck looks up at the man who’s been more of a dad to him than his own blood, who had been by his bedside at every hospital visit and helped him grow up into the man he is today, “If that’s okay with you?” OR Bobby and Athena meet Buck and Eddie's new baby girl.
let me cradle your body (be a safe place to rest)
General | 1.9k
“Seat theif,” Buck pouts, “Where am I supposed to sit?” He asks and look, if he purposely makes his eyes all big and puts a little whine in his voice in a deadly combination that usually has Eddie folding to his whims that it’s between him and the universe okay? “Here,” Eddie says, patting his thigh and it shortcircuits Buck’s brain for longer than it probably should’ve. Eddie doesn’t actually mean that, he’s just messing with Buck right? Because as much as they’ve been accused of practically sitting on each other, they’ve never actually sat in each other’s laps. Buck opens and closes his mouth a few times before deciding that if Eddie is pulling his chain then he’s going to regret it and if it’s being earnest then it probably is comfier than the floor and better than being squeezed into a too-tight spot. “Okay,” Buck says, Eddie offers him a smile and his hand, as if daring him to do it. Buck takes the offered hand and Eddie pulls Buck onto his lap. OR What starts out as a normal 118 gathering ends with Buck sitting on Eddie's lap.
December
even when the heat breaks I’m still yours
Explicit | 6.1k
Eddie has many regrets in his life, lying on the floor of the cabin in the middle of a heat wave with his six foot two best friend pressing into his side while they were both trying to stay cool under the pitiful breeze of the ancient ceiling fan had the possibility to be high on that list. He turns his head to be confronted with a tattooed and freckle-covered shoulder, he can’t remember when they decided to strip down to their boxers -he might have suggested it after Buck’s third shirt had been soaked with sweat and had been clinging to his muscles in a dangerously distracting way- but at the time it had seemed like a good idea, he wasn’t sure about that now considering this was the third time in the last hour that he’s found himself turning to stare at the miles of bare skin. OR Buck and Eddie get stuck in a cabin during a heatwave, they finally take the next step and fuck nasty on the floor.
We might end up real close
Explicit | 2.2k
“Said you wanted us to bond. We might end up real close.” When Buck said those words to Bobby just merely few hours ago, it had been a joke about how if the bomb went off they would be reduced to blood, shards of bone and flesh, mixed so together that you wouldn’t be able to tell them apart without DNA testing. He hadn’t meant it in the way that it was now true with Eddie balls deep in him as he fucks Buck against the tile wall of the firehouse showers, both of them still fully dressed, uniform pants undone and pulled only down to mid-thigh in their haste. Though he thinks maybe Bobby wouldn’t be too surprised by this development given Buck’s recent past. OR the 2x01 Rewrite where Buck and Eddie fuck after removing the bomb.
They don’t know (your name is already mine)
General | 7.6k | 3/4
“Sir, can you tell me your name?” Buck opens his mouth, his tongue feels like lead, “E-ed-” “Ed? Is your name Ed?” Buck shakes his head and winces when he sends a spike of pain through his head. Hands pull at his shirt and he feels the cold metal of scissors as they cut his brand new shirt. He’s supposed to be wearing that to tomorrow's Christmas Eve dinner. Eddie had said the colour makes his eyes pop. “He’s wearing dog tags…Eddie Diaz,” Buck moans, blackness at the edges of his vision seeps in, he tries to blink it away, no, they need to call Eddie, “It’s okay Eddie, we’ve got you,” is the last thing he hears before the darkness takes over. OR Buck gets in a car accident on Christmas Eve Eve and the only ID he has on him is Eddie's dog tags. A case of mistaken Identity, a trip to the hospital and a Christmas Surprise.

this was my experimentation with different fabric techniques.
bleach timed
the first and second image was my bleach theory. to start it off I set off a timer for 20 minutes and every 5 minutes I took one of each sample out. after 5 minutes you can see that a clear difference was made between the wet and the dry samples. the dry samples took out about more of the colour we can see this from the corner as the corner of the dry wasn't fully submerged which shows a difference
after another 5 mins I took out the next two making sure to wash the samples thoroughly and then left them to dry. looking at the samples they both have similarities however the dry sample tool out a little more than the wet samples
after another 5 minutes I took the other samples out rinsed them and let them dry once they had fully dried you can see that the dry samples have almost no colour after the 15 minutes while the wet samples are still darker
after the full 20minutes the over all colour change was drastic from the full black dye etc and you can see that the dry samples performed a lot better than the wet samples
bleach dye
the top two were created by using rubber bands, I tend rubber bands ensuring they were tight. I then dipped them both in bleach then took them out and played them to develop for a few minutes and then rinsed them then removed the rubber bands which left this overall really cool and beautiful pattern which could be cool if in future I add brush colour etc.
the bottom image was created by using buttons, I tied buttons using rubber bands then I dipped them in bleach took it out and left it to develop then rinsed. overall I liked how this turned out it reminded me of the an eclipse which is cool and it would be fun to experiment with different shapes and sizes in the future.
the top left in the 3rd image was created by bubble wrap I used a bigger and smaller size bubble wrap, I applied bleach with a brush and stamped it onto the fabric I also did this with the smaller bubble wrap and left it to dry.
the top right one I created by folding the fabric and used the paint brush to apply bleach then left it to dry
the bottom one was created by using a paint brush and bleach I took a midsized brush and used bleach to paint on these paw print like designs. overall I didn't like how these turned out and could have done better.
tea and coffee
these samples were made by tea and coffee I left each on in there for a few minutes then left them to dry over the space of a couple of days the tea had dyed a lot better than the coffee and the coffee only tinted the fabric.
brusho ink
the first brusho ink sample was created by the same technique of tye dye however this used all of my chosen colours i dipped the top in yellow then with a paint brush painted the green, blue then followed by the purple dye. overall i don't like how bold it is it doesn't give a tye dye effect like the other samples do.
the next sample across was created by brusho ink and bubble wrap i painted purple brusho ink onto to a smaller bubble wrap and pressed it onto the fabric i repeated this with the blue however i did this with a larger. i do like the way this turned out and could be an interesting technique going forward.
the next sample was created by using rubber bands. i tied two rubber bands one near the top and one in the middle. i dipped the top of the fabric in green them the middle in purple and then yellow. overall i am happy with how this turned out and with my colour palette it could come in handy when creating something different.
this next sample was created by dip dye, i started off by folding the fabric to make it easier to dip then i dipped it into the purple brusho dye and let it soak for 3-5 seconds then dipped it into the blue brusho dye letting it soak for another 3-5 seconds, overall i liked how this turned out however it didnt fully dry so another sample leaked onto it.
this next sample was created by using buttons and brusho dye i started by using rubber bands to tye around the buttons making ensuring they were tight and secure, then i dipped it into the purple brusho dye, so it wasnt bland i dip dyed blue at the ends to add extra colour, overall i liked how this turned out it had a cool effect in my opinion and loads of these could look better
this last sample was created by using brusho dye i used white cotton and placed rubber bands in the centre ensuring it was tight, i then dipped it into purple dye and created this. overall i was happy with how it turned out, though it wasnt fully dry when i placed it with the other samples and therefore left odd colours which i wasnt a fan of.

NA: Ramona Flowers Hair Dye
A lot of people have had a shitty hair stylist turn their hair tacky. TBH, most middle-end hairstylists suck at their job. That's why a lot of people stick to their hairstylist when they've found a good one.
I have had two hairstylists that ruined my hair shortly after transition, because they didn't know what they were doing, especially when it comes to non-traditional colors.
So now I'm writing about why Ramona's *rainbow hair* job isn't that far-fetched, and if you do it yourself: not that bank breaking either.
I'm not a licensed Aestheticist, Beautician, or Hair Stylist.
The first thing that matter when dying your hair funky colors is the bleach process. There's all sorts of chemicals that can do this, some people get it from being swimmers. But most people can tell you: if you wanna bleach your hair: Use Hydrogen Peroxide.
Just don't get it in you eyes.
Most good color bleaching kits or color dye kits come with bleaching agent that is most often Hydrogen Peroxide (with additions).
DO NOT HEAT TREAT YOUR HAIR. Too many horror stories come from stylists heat treating when there is no reason to. The Peroxide will do the work itself. Just treat your hair, wrap it, and wait. 30 minutes to an hour.
This is not advice, please research methods from more reasonable sources than my Tumblr.
If you'd like your hair to be lighter, leave it in longer. After this you'll only need to touch up your roots every so often. (There's also techniques and tutorials for layering affects.)
Now here's the tricky part; some colors will stain your hair longer, some will not last as long. Dark Blue in particular stains the longest, and in some cases may be near permanent.
There's different way to actually color your hair, either from buying different dye packs (which will again have the bleaching agent) OR from shampoos containing dyes.
I had the most success with a product called "Clenditioner" that is not a suggestion, or a sponsor. Just a product that I used. I don't recommend you dye your hair at all.
Clenditioner is a shampoo/conditioner/dye 3-in-one (yes they exist. Yes it's fantastic. Yes it will stain your skin and eyes too. They are not wonder products.)
The Clenditioner approach will maintain your hair color the longest.
The other approach is just to use a long lasting dye, and then wash until most of the color runs off.
This is where we start to Get to how Ramona Flower's hair works:
When blue starts to wash out, some blues turn green, because of the mix of the blonde hair and increasingly less blue. So your hair turns from Blue to green to blonde, as it washes out.
You don't need to re bleach, just choose a different dye, or Clenditioner, and your yellow/white hairs take on that color.
And as you wash you hair, It slowly changes back to blonde again. If you start with a rich Red for example; it'll go from red to orange and finally back to blonde.
Of course. Your hair will still be a straw color at the end of it all. So "Turning hair to straw" still means *something*
FYI, not as hair killing as most ppl think. Hair stylists on the other hand? They take your money and turn your hair tacky...

since some people are actually interested, i will do it:
hair dyes and alex' most educated opinion of them
(all pictures are photos of the hair dye in question, i am unfortunately not in a condition to describe them better for now)
1.
Tumblr media
sante's plant based hair dye in black
disappointing. i can't read apparently because i noticed too late that it was for dark brown till i was home and opened it. smelled like herbal tea. my mum used to use this when i was a kid and i nearly threw up from the smell. i didn't put it in my hair. 3/10
2.
Tumblr media
syoss' blueish black
does what it promises. no way to control the portion sizes, so i always had to throw away about half of the bottle because i didn't need thatuch for my short hair. the smell is trying and failing to kill your respiratory tract. the hair has a nice shimmer in the sunlight, and it doesn't fade. easy to apply. 7/10
3.
Tumblr media
manic panic's 30 volume bleach kit (i know this isn't a hair dye technically)
the only bleach i bothered to remember the ne of that didn't come industry sized packages. it starts to burn slightly at around minute 15, increases the burning for about 10 minutes and then stays at that level. not nice, but could be worse. all five of my hair dye brushes come from those kits. there's also a plastic bowl that's completely useless inside. my hair went from black to a reddish white-blond in about 45 minutes. is a bit more successful in its attacks on your lungs. 6/10
4.
Tumblr media
manic panic's electric lizard
i might be biased but this is the best color you could put in your hair. you're easy to find, it's slightly fluorescent and it won't clash with anyone's skin tone. it works in combination with black (hey ecoanarchist flag) or on its own (enough to make anti-flag decide to ask you to model for their instagram story). i need to redye after about 4 weeks of normal inside/outside behaviour, or two weeks of festival, but i can't recommend it enough for festivals. you'll never lose your group again and look fabulous. also it smells only very faintly, and you're hands are more or less clean if you wash them fast enough. 10/10

Tumblr media
manic panic's atomic turquoise
a bit more blue in the beginning than i hoped for (neon green was sold out so i bought this as a second best). went more in a green direction as it faded. the assistant manager at the edeka i worked at told me it was the best hair colour i ever had. i disagree, it made me look a bit like i'd support a cdu/afd coalition. also the nazi security guy there liked it. also the colour is more or less impossible to get out by bleaching and dying it another color. redye after 6-8 weeks. 8/10
6.
Tumblr media
headshot's toxic absinth
green in theory, turquoise in praxis. it gets more blue with every time you wash your hair, so if you wanna keep a deep forest green, never wash it again. it doesn't do well against residues of the aforementioned turquoise, and only stayed green for a week at most. it will look cool, but not how you want it. also kinda boring on its own, looks better with a few light streaks (or purple). 5/10
7.
Tumblr media
manic panic's mystic heather
if you wanna look like the joker with a mohawk for two weeks, follow these steps:
1. have mohawk
2. split dye with black involved
3. decide you want more color but worry about green and red clashing as the black leaves a bit of red when bleached
4. order two hair dyes from manic panic
5. get half your money back, they don't have dark green anymore
6. bleach everything and put this over the formerly black side
7. enjoy
it looked great for 1.5 weeks and then streaks began to go mouse brown. too much redying to be worth it. 6/10
8.
Tumblr media
manic panic's cotton candy pink
this wasn't in my hair but my partners. feels nice on the hands, doesn't smell bad, but your hair needs to be really fucking light to have this work. their hair was orangey before and salmon coloured after. this salmon color left us soon after, too, and it became an orangey yellow. wasn't my hair tho and they liked the colour, so 7/10
soon to be added: voodoo forest by manic panic

Hello! I am finally finished with my wool dying antics (for now). Here are the results.
So I’ve been planing to make a day blanket for my bed for a while now, a project I’ve wanted to do for a variety of different reasons: - big rainbow c: - opportunity to use as much leftover wool as possible - opportunity to dye more wool
since my rigid heddle can only do 40cm max in width I was going to weave 4 strips and just sew them together. This meant that all my colors needed to be dividable by four. I then went through my stash to get everything usable and discovered that I already had 16 greens.
Tumblr media
So I decided to take the easy way out and just dye until i had 16 of every color. (This means that I’ll probably have a whole bunch of leftovers, but ehh.) So after making a whole bunch of mini-skeins (around 15-20g each), I started with my 14 purples.
Tumblr media
they came out really well! Although it’s really hard to mess purple up imo. It just has so much going on. Next were the 12 reds.
Tumblr media
Even though I really like them as well, they are a lot more subtle in their differences, and it shows up even less on camera. One batch was supposed to be a lot more pinkish, but looking at the photos now, i don’t even know which one. After some sleep(s), I tackled the 12 blues.
Tumblr media
while the colors are very nice, that first batch is the only one I‘m genuinely unhappy with - it’s a lot greener that I wanted. So be careful if you ever try turquoises! I dyed the 6 yellows after this, and that was the reason why I didn’t try out a greenish yellow. Maybe another time.
Tumblr media
And the the last color: orange, of which I had to do 16, since I didn’t have any in my leftover box.
Tumblr media
The oranges came out really well, although I forgot to take a picture of them on the drying rack. :( And that was that! I let them dry on the rack like that for a few days (or weeks, oops) then washed them, and hung them up again (but properly this time).
Tumblr media
And here they are now!! Fully dry and back into little skeins, one of each batch for comparison.
Tumblr media
And that’s it!! I am REALLY happy with how these turned out, and can’t wait to weave with them. Sadly, I still need to dye my warp threads, and also complete another bunch of projects which are much higher on the priority list (Christmas gifts I didn’t get done in time. Yes, I know its may. I’m working on it. Dx) But I will make a post for the blanket, when I start with that :) I hope you all have a nice day!!

Hi there! I hope you don't mind me asking, but I really love your pink hair, it look so good and I got really curious, if you always use the same hair dye? Or if there is a certain type of hair dye that you can recommend?
Okay so! If your goal is also light to pastel pink hair, a ton of good options. I have never tried a pink hair dye that didn't turn out nice, so if you already like a certain brand I'd say just buy pink in that brand. The only difference I tend to find is some pinks fade faster than others, but how damaged your hair is affects that (so my hair has held onto 'easily fades' dye for several months, and faded out 'quite long lasting dye' within a month).
I personally think the more warm toned pinks are more likely to turn out a pink color, if your hair is a darker blonde or orange in places or has some cool tones hanging around (like turquoise bits that never washed out etc). For me warmer tones just tend to mess up less. If you want a more lavender look, but don't want to risk it going muddy swamp color grey/green/brown, it will work more reliably on fully bleach blonde hair, and if you use a more pinkish-lavender again you're less likely to get a silver/grey result. (If you've done lavender successfully before then ignore any input about this lol - I've just messed up lavender and ended up swampy brown so often I just do NOT try lavender anymore unless its a pinkish-lavender).
I use lime crime right now for my pinks. I usually use Bunny (tint) when my hair is bleach blonde. But my hair grew out, has darker blonde in it now (golden blonde level 8-9 spots), so I picked a darker pink this time. I used Full Coverage Lime Crime Bubblegum Rose and left it in 2 hours, then washed it out 3 times with head and shoulders shampoo (so I faded it a bit). So I'd assume to get a similar result to mine, leave it in just 1 hour or less (depending on how damaged your hair is - my hair is very damaged so it took the color quickly).
Lime Crime Tints fade in about 2 months, slower if you take care of the color (like 4-5 months), and much faster if you purposely try to fade it with dandruff shampoo/clarifying shampoo/etc (if you're trying to switch colors faster). Full Coverage lasts I'm assuming 4-5 months, I usually use the tints and they last in my hair 1-5 months depending on how much I purposely try to wash them out toward the end. I like lime crime because the pinks ALL fade into rose gold, then golden blonde, then platinum blonde if you started with it. So when you're ready to switch colors you can just wash your hair a ton to fade it to blonde, then slap on the blonde toner of the shade you want (if you want to go back to say silver blonde). I have also used the Sushi tint to tone out blue/turquoise/grey sections out of my blonde hair after a mistake with silver tone lol (the Sushi tint turned my hair back into a golden blonde).
When my hair was platinum blonde instead of darker blonde like it was just before dying, I would usually use Tint Bunny. Its a very pretty pastel bubblegum pink and always came out nice. If your hair is too dark, it turns your hair a pretty rose gold color. I also used Tint Sext (which turns it a lavender-pink pastel color or if your hair is too dark it turns it a cool-tone lavender-rose gold). I've used the Tint Sushi (turns hair a peachy color right between orange and pink, fades into a peachy blonde then golden blonde, and works great on color correcting hair that's too cold toned with greys/blues/greens). I also REALLY like the Tint Shook - it says its a tint but goes on as DARK as full coverage, and gives you a berry-purple-pink color that fades into a pastel version of that and then fades into a neutral blonde. Its much more saturated than Sext (Sext is very pale and in some ways looks like a silvery blonde more than pink).
I pretty much exclusively used the Shook and Bunny tints, depending on if I wanted darker closer to purple, or lighter bubblegum pastel pink. Then Sushi tint for color correcting issues.
summary: This recent dye job is the Full Coverage Bubblegum Rose dye and I suspected it would turn out like Bunny tint but darker (so it should fade into the same color as Bunny). I think I was right. I was aiming for hair like the lead Goo Ryeon in Tomorrow, which I think turned out pretty close. A neutral light pink that will fade into a pastel then a blonde. (If your hair is at the Platinum Blonde level, lighter than mine, I recommend the Bunny tint for an easy pretty pastel pink. If you want a light pink very likely to work on slightly darker hair, I recommend Shook for a cooler tone or Bubblegum Rose for a warmer tone).
One downside of Lime Crime dyes though - if you're sensitive to perfumes (I am) the dye is VERY perfumed, that's why I had to wash it out 3 times and only left it in a couple hours, the dye irritates my skin if its on too long just because I cannot tolerate perfumes. I have to make sure I get it completely off or I will Feel it until its washed out. However, manic panic gave me the same problem as do many dyes, so if you've tolerated these types of dyes in the past then lime crime is not likely to irritate u any more than another brand.
alternatives: honestly manic panic Cotton Candy Pink looks similar, I used to use it a lot and its a good alternative (manic panic can be hard to fade out for me). I've heard amazing things about Arctic Fox colors too, though I've never used them (Frose looks like a good alternative to Bunny, Electric Paradise looks like a good alternative to Bubblegum Rose). Ion Brights colors are hit and misses for me - my nieces looked great in them and they faded easily out of virgin hair, however on me they easily turn too dark and swamp colored so I don't personally love them. I do NOT recommend Splat or N'Rage every time I use them horrible results occur and my hair gets damaged and they refuse to fade out. L'Oreal's line of pastel colors are ALSO hit or miss for me - I never used them because I can tell just by looking they will turn out too dark and look bad, but I've had a friend use them and get the correct result (I'm guessing it depends on how platinum your hair is and if you managed to get all the gold and warm tones out ahead of time). For the most Expected results, I personally recommend Arctic Fox and Lime Crime - those are the only bright colored dyes where me And my friends actually get the result on the bottle on our hair relatively close and good looking every time.

Brother in a Bottle
Chapter 1 (here), Chapter 2, Chapter 3, Chapter 4, Chapter 5, Chapter 6
Chapter 1: Treasures Washed Ashore
One night in late June a storm began to brew just outside of Pacific City. Luckily for the citizens of Pacific city, the storm seemed to be centered over the ocean, only casting a drizzle over the actual city. However, out in the ocean, the storm had caused the currents to become wild and unpredictable. This causes a problem for Tommy, Tommy is a merman who has the tail of a betta fish. Unfortunately for Tommy he also was the size of an average betta fish. This had caused many problems throughout his life, usually, this involved Tommy being chased by predators that were much bigger and faster than him. However, tonight his size was a problem because the currents were carelessly throwing him around. Tommy tried to swim towards the coral reef that he had built his home in, but in a moment the currents changed again and sent Tommy careening in the opposite direction.
Just as Tommy finally managed to stabilize himself a powerful wave pushed him down to the seafloor. The wave was so strong that it pushed him into an open plastic bottle that had been poking out from the sand. Before Tommy could even attempt to escape the turbulent ocean kicked up the buried litter that was on the seafloor, including the bottle that contained him. As the bottle was thrown around in the waves Tommy knocked up against the sides of the bottle. At one point the bottle was thrown into the side of a rock. The force of this blow caused Tommy to be knocked out. Leaving the small merman helpless to his new fate.
When Tommy awoke he found himself staring at the ocean. Confused by this he tried to look around to see where he was. He quickly determined that he was still in the bottle that he had been forced into. Thankfully for him, the bottle was filled with water and was facing in a way that prevent most of the water from escaping. Tommy figures that if he is quick enough he can leave the bottle and crawl across the sand to get back to the ocean before he suffocated. However, now that the bottle was no longer in the ocean, there wasn't enough pressure around the bottle to help Tommy squeeze through the narrow opening. Tommy kept trying to find ways to escape the bottle, yet as hours passed the sun had risen high in the sky and had started causing the water in the bottle to start evaporating. Tommy started to panic as the evaporating water not only made his escape much harder but also limited the time that Tommy could survive outside of the ocean.
Around noon a black car pulled up to the beach that Tommy had washed to shore on. Three guys emerged from this car, the driver had slightly long blond hair that was partially covered up by a green and white stripe bucket hat, The man wore a black tank top with a red heart in the upper right-hand corner of the tank, A pair of green swim shorts, and a pair of sandals. The guy in the passenger seat had long hair that was dyed pink and held in an intricate braid, he wore a pair of brown sunglasses, a white t-shirt, a pair of blue swim trunks that had a polar bear pattern on them, and a pair of pink flipflops. Lastly, the guy who stepped out of the back seat wore a comically large sunhat that covered up a set of brown curls, a pair of sunglasses that were identical to the pair worn by the pink-haired man, a black tank top, a pair of dark blue swimming shorts with salmons printed on them, and a pair of bright yellow flipflops.
"Hey Phil, not to sound unappreciative but why did we come to the beach? This beach is completely covered in trash, won't that make relaxing a bit difficult?"
"Well that's why we are here, I decide that today is a good day to teach you boys about community service!"
The two passengers groaned realizing that they were brought here to work instead of relaxing
"But Dad, why do we have to clean up the beach? Won't it just end up getting messy again in a couple of weeks when another storm rolls in?" The guy in the sunhat whined.
"Well if we don't clean up the beach then when the next storm comes along it will sweep all the trash back out into the ocean. If the trash ends up back in the ocean then the sea creatures might end up getting trapped by it or they might end up eating it, and both of these things could end up killing them. So we are going to take these trash bags and we are going to try and pick up as much litter as we can carry, and if we happen to find any creatures that were trapped by the litter we can free them and release them back into the wild. If you boys finish quickly we can spend the rest of the day relaxing on the beach " Phil said handing each boy a large trash bag.
The boys reluctantly nodded and the trio made their way down to the beach. At first, the group stuck to the area of the beach that was closest to their car. After they had managed to clear the litter from this area they came together to decide where they were going to go next.
"Ok, Wilbur how about you start from the far left side of the beach and make your way back this direction. Techno, you can take the right side of the beach, and I will start cleaning from here and work my way to you guys. If you guys fill up your trash bags you can take them back to the car and grab a fresh one out from the trunk before starting up again."
"Yes Dad," Wilbur said at the same time Techno was replied "Alright Phil."
With that, the boys went their separate ways. Once Techno had reached the far right side of the beach he began to gather up all of the litter insight and dump it into his trash bag. As Techno did this he spotted something moving out of the corner of his eye. Techno turned, expecting to only see a paper being tossed around by the wind, but instead, he spotted a small red creature swimming about in a half-empty bottle of water. At first, Techno had been confused about why this creature was inside this bottle. Then he remembered Phil's earlier words about sea creatures being trapped by various pieces of litter. It didn't take Techno long after that to piece together that this was an unfortunate fish who had gotten trapped in this water bottle during the storm. After a moment Techno decides to help the little fish escape its plastic imprisonment. After all, the whole reason that they were out here in the first place was to prevent things like this from happening to any other sea creatures.
Techno picks up the bottle fully intending to dump the fish back into the ocean before throwing the bottle into his trash bag. However, Techno froze as he heard a loud shout come from inside the bottle. Techno turned his head and lifted the bottle so that he was face to face with the creature inside. Techno almost dropped the bottle as his eyes land on the small humanoid. Inside the bottle was what appeared to be a boy that was about three inches tall. the boy had pale skin, dusty blond hair, and bright blue eyes, However, the most striking thing about the boy was how his body disappeared from just below his ribcage and transitioned seamlessly into the body of a fish. The fish portion of the body was a solid red color though it slowly transitioned to orange towards the end of the boy's large fanned out fins. The boy in the bottle was trying and failing to hide the fear on his face with a mask of anger.
For a moment Techno just stood there unsure if he was somehow hallucinating the tiny figure. He was snapped out of this thought process when the mini mermaid began swearing so furiously that it could make a sailor blush. Techno listened for a moment to see if the little mermaid could do anything but swear, but after a minute of swearing at Techno decides to tune the little guy out. Techno tried to figure out what his next course of action should be, but he, unfortunately, came up with nothing. So after drawing a blank he decide to go to Phil and see what he thought about all of this. With this Techno quickly dipped the bottle into the ocean. long enough to fill it with water but not long enough for Tommy to escape, especially with how the sudden moment had dazed the small boy. Then Techno picked up his barley-filled trash bag and ran back towards the center of the beach as fast as he could.
Techno ran until he spotted Phil in the distance.
"Phil!" Techno shouted still running towards the man in question.
Phil looked up, shocked not only because Techno was returning far sooner than he expected, but also because Techno hardly ever ran at all. Phil had only seen Techno run like this if he was either forced to or he had something urgent to do.
"Techno!? What happened, are you hurt!?" Phil said as Techno finally stopped in front of him.
Techno was bent towards his knees and held up one finger as he attempted to catch his breath from his impromptu running session. After a couple of minutes of panting Techno finally was able to stand up and start talking.
"I'm ok" Techno panted out answering Phil's earlier question.
Phil starred at him with a look of confusion. "Then why in the world did you just run halfway across the beach screaming my name?"
"Phil! I think I found somethi-er" Techno looked down at the bottle in his hand before turning back to Phil "someone!!!" He quickly corrected himself.
Phil looked around and after seeing that no one was with Techno, and not understating why Techno would make such a big deal about this, he turn to Techno, shrugged, and asked "Who?"
Techno hesitantly raised the bottle high enough for Phil to see. Phil gave Techno a puzzled look before bending down to get a closer look. When Phil saw what was inside the bottle he froze. For a moment no one said or did anything. The three figures just stood there and stared at each other having no clue what to do. However, the moment was ended when Tommy renewed his earlier cursing fit by screaming the words at the top of his lungs.

not a sunday ask but i did decide to get a haircut and make it everyone's problem since i base my entire personality around my looks, is there something you'd like to do with your hair rn? how about something you have always wanted to do with it but couldn't for whatever reason?
I welcome your asks any day of the week but unfortunately there’s not much that I’ve wanted to do with my hair that I haven’t done. I’ve had no bangs (which is not the best choice for my face shape🙈), front bangs, side bangs (that I had for a while), and now I have long middle part curtain bangs (which I didn’t expect to love as much as I do😊)
I’ve also had fairly long hair (which annoyed me too much since my hair is so thick so it got way too heavy) and also fairly short hair (up to my chin) and now I’m right in the middle at nearly shoulder length. If I had to pick something I’ve thought about doing with my hair but didn’t I guess it’d be cutting my hair shorter than I’ve ever had it before (like a long pixie cut). I haven’t done it since I feel like I’d like it in theory but then hate it once I actually had it and then it’d take too long to grow back. Another big reason I haven’t done it is that I don’t really do much to style my hair (just part it in the middle, blow dry it, and straighten it sometimes if it needs it) but I feel like a haircut like that would need so much styling to look really good and I don’t think I have the time or the skill set for it🙈
I’ve done a lot with colors too so there’s not much I wish I could try. My natural hair is super dark brown and I started highlighting it back in high school. Back then I’d be more subtle and natural but in the last few years I’ve had royal blue hair, teal hair, aqua green hair, and now I have purple/indigo hair (which I think is my favorite so far😍). I’ll include something I did to my hair that I wish I didn’t and that was dying it blonde. I’d always thought about doing it and convinced myself it’d look good (I blame Brooke😁) so one day I just decided to go for it and it was awful. I already had a bright color in my hair so they had to wash that out and then remove the rest of my natural color and then try to put blonde in and it took longer than any other color/hair appointment had and when I left I looked in the mirror and hated it. I kept focusing on my nearly black eye brows versus my blonde/yellow hair (since I had to go back to even it out) and how dry my hair felt. I ended up going back sooner than I was scheduled and having her dye my hair plain old brown again since I just had to get rid of the blonde and just go back to something I knew I wouldn’t hate🙈

~health~
i had a revelation about skincare in april of this year. now in july, i’m having revelations about health and diet. is this what being 30 is about? i realize i wasn’t just PMSing in my last post, i was feeling meh due to other factors as well. as matt has had more available time to spend with me, my loneliness and mental health has improved. however, the activities that we did together hurt our physical health. since completing hard rotations, we went to eat hot pot twice (though it was tasty, our stomachs get destroyed by the oil), smith and wollensky (unlimited wine, entree of steak, appetizers of oyster and bacon, etc), indian food out with friends, july 4th blue apron dinner of lobster rolls and unhealthy side dishes, fried chicken sandwiches, and desserts like almost everyday, all in a two week span!! on top of that, i would make lattes to drink everyday, and then also couple the dessert with a glass of milk at night. it’s no wonder i felt like shit. this probably would not have affected me much if i were 5 years younger, but i realize i am a lot more sensitive to my diet now. i had more trouble concentrating on things, felt lazier overall, and less energetic.
regarding skincare, i recently made a side by side comparison of my skin in april vs. now. my complexion is noticeably better; there’s less redness. i still have a bunch of sunspots that i hope will fade over time.
i’m now determined to improve our diet going forward. i started making green smoothies (spinach/kale, banana, mango, pineapple, orange juice, collagen) recently and felt so energized after drinking it. and thought to myself, why so stupid, why haven’t i thought of making these much earlier? my diet back at home consisted mainly of my mom’s cooking, hot pot, and boba LOL. needless to say, fresh greens were almost never part of my diet and i tended to avoid cooked greens as well. not only should my energy level/health improve with a better diet, but so will my skin and hair health. goodness all around.
to be more conscious of the foods we eat, whereas before i tended to eat for taste haha, our diets will look something like: steelcut oatmeal for breakfast (add dates, walnuts, flax seeds, cinnamon, no milk), if we are utilizing uber eats: one tasty dish that is generally healthy, or if i’m cooking, a protein over salad. then a veggie/fruit smoothie with added collagen.
baby steps in the right direction ✨
to note, i went to get a trim at a salon last weekend. i went in because my hair had been so damaged/easily tangled from when i bleached my hair back in fall 2021 (and then dyed black in april this year) and i wanted to chop more of the damaged hair off. so much of my hair was falling out whenever i combed it :( and it was so difficult to untangle even when it was conditioned. as the lady washed my hair, she noted how damaged my hair was and asked if i dyed my hair by myself. getting my hair colored at a less reputable place to try and save money was one of the worst financial decisions i’ve made recently lol. not only did it hurt my wallet, my hair was in the worst health this past year than ever! anyway, she talked me into doing an oil treatment and i agreed to it. my hair now feels like it did when it was healthy 🥺. i felt bad at the time, having to shell out now a total of $120+tip when i wasn’t mentally prepared to do so, but i am happy that my hair is revived. i am also determined to taking better care of my hair going forward with at home masks/oils.
so... baby steps in the right direction.

DOMINANT ELEMENTS IN THE BIRTH CHART
Hi, guys. Thank you so much for following.
Before I begin “Astra inclinant, non necessitant”. Meaning “the stars impel, they do not compel”. They urge us or drive us but they do not force us.
So I will be discussing how your dominant elements affect us. I noticed for these elements in the charts, they all affect you one way or another. And how to use it to ground you. I may single some out because they have specific meanings.
AIR DOMINANTS
Air signs, the breeze is your friend. Going outside is your best bet. Go outside and feel the breeze wash away your fears, troubles. You will feel the breeze calm you down or lift up your spirits. This has grounded me so many times.
Aquarius rules electricity. And I singled it out because the element here causes more of a malefic affect. And as an Aqua Dominant, I feel this effect a lot. There have been lots of occasions of being electrocuted, nearly being stuck by lightning etc. For other Aqua Dominants that may suffer this, your best bet is Sage.
FIRE DOMINANTS
Leo rules the Sun. Sun bathing can be helpful for these natives. Just go outside and take a lay outside in the sun. Taking Vitamin C as well. This may apply for the other fire signs as well. Maybe lighting candles while bathing or just being in your room can help.
EARTH DOMINANTS
Earth placements, when you are feeling down the best thing to do for yourself is go outside and experience nature. Eating green would also help a lot. Also try out gardening and going to nature parks. Try giving thanks for your food before eating. Pull the plug on social media and see what nature has to offer.
WATER DOMINANTS
For water placements, bathing and drinking water can help. I am also water dominant and I started blessing my water before I drink. It helped a lot. Saying a little thanks before drinking water can help a lot. Also, drinking water before taking important decisions help to ground you. And one of my water dominant friends, gave account to how manifesting next to the ocean helped. And most of them have come true.
Cancer & Pisces try drinking water before bed. Cause these signs rule the nighttime. And also maybe going to a water body at night (please only if you are absolutely sure it’s safe).
PLANETS IN DETRIMENT/FALL
Hmm. I wouldn’t say there is much effect. But let’s say if your Sun is your dominant planet and it is in Virgo. You can’t use the ways of Leo to cater to you. If you get what I mean. You have to use the Air sign placements.
EXTRA NOTES:
Also try dressing according to your dominant elements. And if your Asc/Venus are a different element, try following that too. If there is a change, please just message me. Also It doesn’t have to be the whole outfit. It could be an accessory, your shoes, socks, nails etc. Maybe even dying your hair, wig etc.
Also there are different shades of the colors I am talking about, make sure to pick the shade that suits you.
Earth-For Taurus placements, green is your best friend. Other earth placements could be cool and dark colors eg brown, black, grey etc.
Water- cool colors, blue, white, cool pastels etc. Scorpios try blonde hair...
Air- Lowkey think every color would suit this sign.
Fire- Hot red, yellow, orange, bright colors (not loud).
Pluto: BLACK, Moon: WHITE, Mars: RED, Sun: YELLOW, Uranus: BLUE, Venus: GREEN, Jupiter: ORANGE, Neptune: VIOLET, Saturn: GREY, Mercury: BROWN.
