Oh boy. If you're here on my account then you probably already know who I am and how absolutely insane I am for them, but I'm gonna ramble anyway LOL thanks for giving me the opportunity to show people on Tumblr how insane I am ‼✌😁 If people who don't know me from twitter find this, hi I'm TK! I may be a little deranged for Yoshiden, just a tiny bit y'know- Yoshiden means a lot to me for various reasons but I'll just put down all my insane ramblings down belowwww [CSM Spoilers if anime onlys/new readers find this post somehow] [Serious Section] -Denji's distrust/disliking for men/straight up internalized homophobia is most likely because of his past abusers being male (the mafia and his father), so if he starts to trust Yoshida throughout the course of part 2 and they end up forming an actual bond, whether it's romantic or platonic, it kind of helps Denji get over his distrust and help him cope with that trauma knowing that hey not all dudes are that bad actually, this guy's pretty nice. (You could say that Beam already did that and they had a good bond too but Beam is... y'know... *finger across neck* bleh... and Denji still emphasizes he wouldn't let a dude sit on him in 104 so...)

-Surprise surprise, I'm in on the bi Denji agenda because I'm bisexual and all my favs have to be bi 😁😁/hj But seriously, bi Denji is a pretty good concept cause aside from getting rid of his internalized homophobia, it also helps him get over/cope with his trauma as I said above. Part 1 was all about Denji learning about different kinds of love (familial love from the Hayakawa family, romantic love from Reze, and the mess that is sexual->maternal->abusive love from Makima, etc etc), so exploring his sexuality in part 2 could be a nice little addition to that. (Bonus points for the new kind of familial love he has for Nayuta now that he's her older brother/father figure; bonus BONUS points if Yoshida's the other dad LOL) [Delusional Absolutely Normal Section] -Yoshida's canonically a pretty boy as stated by another guy, so maybe if Denji stares at him long enough he'll realize guys can be as pretty as girls too and think it's fine to find guys attractive LMAO

-We all agree Yoshida's gay or at least mspec mlm leaning/preference right? Right. -Anyway, I'M A TOTAL SUCKER FOR ONE-SIDED LOVE STORIES LOL I'd like to think Yoshida has coworkers who could've taken the job of watching over Denji but he deliberately asked to do the job because he found him cute back in part 1, though realistically he probably only got chosen for the job cause he knew about Denji's identity already and he's also in high school, but we're not here for realism, we're here for gay people. (Gay people being Hirofumi Yoshida.) (Did you see him at the table with Angel while Denji and Power were talking about barf and stuff? Dude was smiling while listening to them talk about random shit, he probably became interested in Denji then and there; hell, even the goddamn onigiri scene where Denji still eats it after it fell to the ground probably made him go 'woah this guy is sick in the head I'm in love') Back to the one sided thing, the idea of Yoshida being willing to die while protecting Denji is???? insane??? and I love it because it really shows how devoted he is not only to his job but to Denji in general. He's never truly lost his temper at Denji, even when he used his bare hands on the cake, even when he let himself get sat on by girls, and even how he only wants to reveal himself as Chainsaw Man just to get a girlfriend. Sure, he called him hopeless in the recent chapter, but he never raised his voice or fought back. He's always trying to be patient with him even when he's being completely ridiculous. Copypasting what I've said on twitter here: If someone started scooping and eating the cake I bought with their bare hands, I wouldn't just sit there and go "Aaaaaah!", I'd definitely get pissed. Yoshida has FEELINGS for this boy, I swear. He said NOTHING about it. NOTHING. No "Why the hell'd you do that?" or "Dude that's gross" OR ANYTHING, he immediately just goes back to talking about trying to prevent Denji from revealing his identity. If someone I liked, however, would eat cake with their bare hands, I'd just be embarrassed but also find it cute so I'd let it slide. (Tested and proven 👍)

If, miraculously, Yoshida canonically confesses to Denji, he'd probably still pine for him even if Denji turns him down, which he probably will. Yoshida realizes, after being his bodyguard for a while, that he really enjoys Denji and being around him; he'd get too attached to those feelings and still shower him with appreciation even if he knows it'll never be reciprocated. Just knowing that Denji's being given the love he deserves is enough for him, even if Denji doesn't want or care about that love. It's kinda selfish of Yoshida, but he doesn't care, all he cares about is that he likes Denji and he's willing to keep that up until he dies. -Anywayyyyy, even though they're both good in battle they're both absolute fucking losers LOL Yoshida getting thrown out the window is and will always be my favorite scene from him. Denji got called a loser by Asa, so maybe if Denji just turned his head 90 degrees after that rejection, he would've seen another loser and they could've been the most pathetic loser4loser couple in existence, it's great, c'mon Denji just accept you can like men already

so this is a big, long rant about sexism in the idv community bc it's been on my mind lately and i need to put it out there. this is what i've observed after almost four years in the fandom and been stewing on for a long-ass time. if you don't feel like reading an essay on how annoyed some random enby on the internet is, then don't click the read more and just keep scrolling. don't interact with this post if all you're gonna do is get mad; i'm not here to piss anyone off, just make observations. and if this isn't your experience, good for you and please direct me to whatever circles you run in because i need to be there.

so, i've noticed that the idv fandom is extremely shit when it comes to how they treat female characters, and nobody really.. talks about it?? the only person i've ever seen actually discuss it used it as a way to drum up sympathy for ada. which, if you know me, you know really fucking pisses me off. because there are SO MANY OTHER EXAMPLES of sexism in this community, but no, clearly because we have sympathy for a male victim of abuse we're being sexist towards his abuser.

the thing is. there is so much to point to when you talk about how the fandom is sexist. it's very common to see female characters boiled down to just a couple traits. mary?? hot mommy step on me. michiko?? soft and gentle and demure (don't think i won't notice the weird shit about how that's a very common stereotype of asian women btw i see it). demi?? hot and drinks a lot. emma and lily are "uwu mentally ill babies". annie is soft. emily is either an irredeemable monster or a bitch, depending on who you're talking to. patricia is scary and mean. sangria's a girlboss, grace is soft and gentle, martha is spunky. and if you ask anyone their thoughts / ideas on these characters beyond those short descriptors you get nothing. i'm starting to fucking hate the word "girlboss" because it's all anyone says in response to like half these characters.

male characters are given alllllll the nuance in the world you can't talk to an aesop fan without them going into their endless headcanons / theories on why he's the way he is or how he's not actually that bad of a person or how cute he is or whatever. look at norton, or eli, or orpheus, or luca, or edgar, or joseph, or ithaqua, or any characters in that vein, and look at how the fandom treats them. look at the endless fanfictions and character studies and ships and x readers and headcanons. and then look at what female characters get. nowhere near that much.

i feel like margaretha and emily are the ones who suffer the most from this male-centric view by the fandom. they're characters who are inherently intricate, whose actions can't be explained away as entirely good or entirely bad. but that doesn't stop people from actively trying. they're going to act like margaretha wasn't being horrifically mistreated by her husband and just decided to burn down the circus for funsies or whatever. they're going to act like emily isn't trying so fucking hard to help emma and repent for what she's done. neither of them are meant to be read as black-and-white, but people will try because if they have to use more than two braincells on a female character they're going to implode.

meanwhile you get paragraph after paragraph about the intricacies of the argument between luca and alva. you get so many people analysing the relationship between norton and orpheus and how they're both kinda dicks but also both kinda have points. you get endless people defending joseph's actions bc his brother's dead and he's terrified of growing old / forgetting the people he loved / dying. you get so many fucking stories about how y'know, edgar's not that bad actually.

AND I'M NOT AGAINST ANALYSING THESE CHARACTERS!!! idv, especially in recent years, has been doing some great things with character writing. like, fuck 'em, they've got their issues, but they're still really good with some stuff and deserve credit. but don't act like it's not obvious how so many people have overlooked women (and poc, don't think i've noticed people ignoring the intricacies behind william and ganji as characters as well in favour of "himbo" and "bastard who cares", but i'm white so that's not exactly my place to talk) in favour of their favourite skinny whiteboy of the week.

they're that way with older-looking characters, too. if an idv guy has facial hair, you bet your ass he's also getting boiled down to his base traits. jose's an alcoholic, kevin is self-sacrificing and likes women, kurt is a little guy, kreacher is Awful, charles basically doesn't fucking exist anymore. but again not the focus of the talk atm.

it's just. so upsetting. esp. since most of my favourite idv characters are women but everyone i talk to about them is like "oh yeah demi's hot" or "aww annie's such a nervous little baby" or "god patricia's such a cool girlboss". and even when the shit they say is positive in a vacuum it still makes me so upset bc THAT'S NOT ALL THEY ARE!! demi is kind and loving and hardworking in the face of a world that only ever hurt her. annie's life has been an endless stream of pain and heartbreak and the only thing she really wants is freedom. patricia is literally cursed and is trying to find her place in the world.

also. i fucking hate ada but she falls victim to this too. as much as i despise the "you dislike her just bc you're sexist" thing and as horribly uncomfortable as she makes me, don't act like you haven't seen how her entire character is boiled down to how much she "loves" this man. don't act like you haven't seen how her entire character, all of her promise and potential, is forgotten in favour of that fucking trainwreck of a relationship. i bet half the fandom can't tell me anything about her other than her relationship with emil. emil suffers from this too, with his backstory and personality and life of abuse becoming an afterthought, but again, not what we're focusing on.

this is not an isolated thing or confined solely to the idv fandom. this happens in fandoms everywhere. but because idv is so close to my heart i feel like i really need to talk about it. there's so little content of female characters when there's fucking daily content of male ones. and don't get me wrong, i do like male characters. norton is literally one of my favourite fictional characters and i love talking about / analysing him. but i can guarantee a lot of people wouldn't be so interested in him if he was a woman.

sorry, just needed to get that off my chest. mandatory "this doesn't apply to everyone in the fandom" and "if this doesn't apply to you then i'm not fucking talking about you". we were so against the ashley wood collaboration bc of how much he sexualised michiko (and women in general) but like. do y'all really care that much?? bc i really don't think you do.

alrighty here’s my personal take on what kinds of genes go where. not gonna name every gene, especially not ancient genes cause i dont have ‘em memorized at all, just whatever comes to mind as i’m typing

gem mp: shiny sparkly and fancy but in a way that adds a different texture to the dragon, just like gems themselves - i’m talkin irishim, cryface, metalloy, wasp/bee, starcon, glimmer, opal, filigree, genes like those, seems simple to me

baldwin: got a wacky gene? got a gene that looks like your dragon got dunked in the cauldron? got something dangerous or nasty? it goes here. poitox, slime/sludge, lionfish/noxtide, soap, glowtail, firefly, capsule, k*el, that kinda thing. shiny textures and glowing parts are welcome. koi and flecks seem like they would fit as well since they’re patchy and random.

swipp: i really just don’t know. mixed bag ig

coli: i also don’t know, maybe phasar would be at home here with pymorph? possibly venue-themed genes? maybe you could randomly get gembond in crystal pools by getting bitten by that one gem snake, i was gonna put it in baldwin but i think this is funnier

arlo is actually really good at theming his genes. i will leave him alone.

notn: this is where harlequin/jester should go, it’s a shadowy holiday full of trickery (diamond/spade could also go here, same vibe). hell, the actual jester sets are from notn. if we aren’t getting apparel Sets anymore, why not have fancy genes as a treat? stitched/patchwork and fern/paisley also go here for uh, mimicking objects, or whatever fern/paisley is trying to do.

treasure mp: anything else, definitely plain animal patterns (jaguar/rosette, tiger/stripes, petals/butterfly, thyla) and general flat color stuff (cherub/seraph, savannah/safari, fade/blend, contour, underbelly, stained, ghost). sparkly flat color stuff as a treat (flafla, sparkle, runes), treasure is sparkly too y'know.

and there we go! that’s how i would sort genes. now you know what i, random anon, mean when i say something doesn’t feel like an [x] gene but more like an [x] gene. it doesn’t mean i’m broke. it means i think of the genes differently than staff and it feels like they assign genes kinda random values. yes it could be how difficult to draw they are, but personally recreating stuff like metalloy is a breeze for me while pintrail has me wilting so idk maybe maybe not. ok thank u for ur time ik this post is long

Want to know more about Claydolls! AU.

i got a really big (evil) smile on my face when i saw this ask. this is my first AU and thus i have never posted about an AU and do not know how to , really , so i am just going to dump some information

(by the way, "claydolls" was a temporary name two weeks ago, but it seems like its sticking. i stole the name from something else i'm really into. if you recognize what its from you get nine thousand million hundred trillion and thirty six thousand and fifty three cents in dollars.)

claydolls is largely the same as toontown: corporate clash but with a lot of headcanons inserted. it started with a couple headcanons that i felt too weird about having just as headcanons because they're so wildly out there and once i accepted that i can just make stuff not canon compliant it got kinda wild? but, y'know, it's cogs and toons fighting. they're not working at a coffee shop or something.

it revolves around a handful of toons (and cogs) that have an interest in the mechanics of life & the mechanics of death, and the other people that get wrapped up in such interests. it sounds edgier than it is but also its mine so i'm free to be cringe if i want to. a lot of the story is just tropes from other stuff that i love that doesn't conventionally fit into toontown anyways!

but uh, here's characters! the ones that aren't already from the canon!

pre-empting any questions about roxy being 114, toons average life expectancy is solidly past that. he's old, but not that old for a toon!

if you sent this ask because you were curious about what's going on with brian and misty specifically, i can say that the last time brian has been seen by any resistance ranger or c.o.g.s inc employee was early december 113, and the current year is late-august 114. more about that soon i think!!

(yeah, the calendar does operate relative to when cap'n roxy was born, but that's just because it's easy to think about for me this way. i didn't want to make up a random number, because the real actual start point in a whole timeline would be WAY too far back to bother)

it's just a silly little map made to be a big playground since i can't really hang out with anyone irl (i tend to call it my "tag map" because there's a datapack that lets you play tag! but there's lots of other stuff too) and i wanted to finally kinda release this! i'll be streaming on my twitch from it (mostly building but i could do some tagging/showing folks around if anyone shows up) around when this post goes up so come check it out maybe! (also there's some, Things on it- everyone makes dicks in minecraft don't judge me- so if that would make you uncomfortable then sorry! i guess!)

down here is where the information Will go, for now i’ll just say that it’s not particularly beginner friendly? the spawn area has quite a bit of reading and it’s easy to accidentally breeze through it and not actually see any of the important stuff… also some Very important things are left out like talking about the Random Events or how most of the animals have fun and funky behavior… i’ll try address this soon!

the base mechanics of the map include, tag, radars, random events, a "sprint meter", randomly spawning item boxes/animals, custom advancements, shops, and more i'm probably forgetting at the moment!

Tag: there's 1 "It" player and everyone else is "not it", y'know like tag, when not it players are tagged their spawnpoint is set to that location, there's also a slight grace period where tagging someone back is less beneficial, and some events are effected by being it or not, as well as a few "doors" being open depending on your it status

Radars: all players get a "radar" of some type that points to the nearest/all/??? not it players (depending on the radar type, this is explained more on the actual map), when you've recently tagged someone the grace period stops you from being tracked by the new it player for a bit

Random Events: currently there are 12 randomly occurring events, they can happen every 90 seconds, they range from a "group hug" event that teleports every not it player to one not it player at random, to everyone getting levitated into the sky, to a server wide game of rock paper scissors, and more!

Sprint Meter: when sprinting there will be a meter that fills up above your hotbar, your speed will gradually increase (in steps) until the bar fills, the bar will go back down twice as fast as long as you're not sprinting (or sneaking), and sneaking at the highest few levels of the meter will grant you jump boost!

Random Spawns: item boxes and animals (chickens and sheep) will randomly spawn around the map. the item boxes can be "opened" (they're shulkers, so you kill them) for various drops, they come in various types that are area dependent each with different loot tables! the animals have unique effects (with some very minor exceptions), all chickens will instantly die upon getting close to them (unless they're babies, or "The Chucken"), and all sheep spawn with a land mine on their backs (unless it exploded and they somehow survive, steer clear of sheep or try to activate them from a safe distance)

Custom Advancements: there's advancements for dying to various sources, looking at various things through a spyglass, and other (hopefully) fun activities, you can even reset your advancement progress at a special location for some extra loot

Shops: there's currently 5 shops on the map, one that sells chicken, one that sells explosives, one that trades eggs and chicken for gold, a secret weather charm shop, and a prize counter at the carnival. 4 of the 5 work by putting your currency on the counter (each shop might take different currency depending on what they sell/trade) and clicking the items you want to buy, the 5th works like a villager (shhhhhhh)

Some other things to note: there's a custom resource pack on the server, it's mostly there for custom hats but there's some other stuff too! if you're interested in playing, feel free to send me an ask! i'd be happy to show anyone around :3

A couple Misc. Little Headcanons that won't go away, so I'm posting them here:

Will never be seen in public, or in private with people he's unfamiliar with (or purposely keeping at arm's length) in anything less than business casual. Seeing him in anything less is a big sign you're in good standing, as it probably means he's invited you into a private residence, doesn't feel the need to be the intimidating fixer everyone knows him as, and is okay with allowing you to see that image.

Everyone picture tiny, chubby baby Jordi right now. This isn't a headcanon, I just thought about it and now I want all of you to do so, too.

Doesn't date, but has no hesitation about taking someone on a date. You're not getting a commitment of any sort of out of him, but if you're down for the peripheral stuff? Nice dinners, a long walk by the lake, spending a night wandering around some sort of festive thing that the city has going on (ie. the Taste of Chicago), that sort of thing? Hell yeah, sure, he can play the part for a night. He'll even be a gentleman while he's doing it - to some degree, I mean Jordi's still...y'know, Jordi, but you're not going to open your own doors, or pay for anything, and might find his jacket over your shoulders if you're obviously cold, so that has to count for something, right?

If his first impression of you is good (you're straightforward with jobs you want done and pay him well if you're contracting him, or you do your damn job and deliver results if you're working for him), later on you can ask for damn near anything and he'll provide, sometimes at a discount or sometimes simply out of the goodness of his black little heart. A favor for a favor is big in his world, and he always repays his debts. So, you help him out, and you might be surprised by the things he can and will do for you in return.

Grew up speaking both English and Mandarin at his parents' insistence, as they figured knowing both would give him the best advantage later in life. And they...weren't exactly wrong. English not included, Mandarin is the third most commonly spoken language in Chicago, so a few additional doors are open to him when it comes to potential jobs; be it jobs he's actually accepting or digging up information, it helps a lot being able to, y'know, talk to people.

Random, small child babbling absolute gibberish his way, and he'll be the guy who's basically like cheers, kiddo and continuing on his way. Screaming and/or crying children are another story and he's just gonna nope the fuck out of that situation because that is just a migraine waiting to happen.

You're probably not going to find any one consistent genre of music playing with him, whether it's in a car he's using or in hideout/residence of his. His taste is pretty varied, and even he's been a little surprised by songs and artists he ends up liking.

He's got a few properties scattered around, hideouts not included. Chicago is the main point, where he has three: one is a condo considered his personal residence, and the other two are rented out. He's got other rentals in San Fransisco, Seattle and NY - one in each, he didn't go crazy with it - all for a little extra cash in his pocket. Having those properties also provides a little bit of cover for himself, because if anyone goes poking around, he can play himself off as a real estate investor.

Want an easy way to get on his good side? Give him anything sweet - sickeningly sweet - with a bunch of additional bonus points if that sweet thing is strawberry, salted caramel or white chocolate.

Azure is a drizzile. I don't think they're good at being a drizzile though /j but they sure as hell are one!

Alright, I'm gonna get heavy for a second

I made a post about how I can sometimes struggle with seeing Fenris portrayed as significantly shorter and/or physically smaller than Hawke because while I do think the height difference is cute, it can sometimes come across as infantilizing towards Fenris and infantilization of him makes me deeply uncomfortable.

And almost immediately I was hit with an accusatory tone question of why feminization of male characters (not infantilization) makes me uncomfortable

I have deleted that post before I made this one because I do not want anyone going to find it, seeing that comment, and harassing the person who made it. That person had no way of knowing the context I'm going to provide below, and I am certain it came from their own pain and they do not deserve to be harassed over something as small as a single comment

But, it did set me off a bit which is why I'm now making this post. I cleared this up on the other post, but since I'm making another, longer one, I'm going to restate it here

Fenris is canonically a sexual assault victim, and so am I

Portraying Fenris as submissive, inexperienced, afraid, nervous, and yes, physically small, in romantic or sexual contexts reminds me of how I felt during my assault. Scared, helpless, unable to run or say no, and small.

But portraying Fenris as confident, enthusiastic, enjoying himself, and yes, strong, gives me hope. It makes me feel like I could have that too. That I could be in a sexual situation, enjoy myself, and feel safe, if I ever choose to (I'm also ace so that adds a whole other layer of nuance to this but we're not gonna talk about that today)

I want to make it clear: Fenris is fictional, what happened to me cannot happen to him because he is not real. I understand that. But y'know… fiction is safe. Fiction is a good place to work through stuff, a fictional character didn't suffer like I did and that almost makes it better because nothing can hurt me if I don't want it to.

Obviously, there is nuance. Fenris can be inexperienced, but confident. Nervous, but not afraid. Physically small, and not treated as a child. I am not blind to that. In fact, I like that, I like exploring that nuance myself. It's when that nuance is absent that bothers me.

Note: I am not going to discuss my opinions on how Fenris sexual trauma is handled in fandom nor in the games. Not right now. I have opinions, but it is straight up just too painful and I do not want to talk about it. Please don't ask me to

But with all of that said, it also isn't anyone else's problem. No one else is me. Why should they stop making the content they enjoy, because I, random internet person #114214125, don't like it?

I have extremely specific set offs for my trauma for this situation, an example of which being the "chin grab." When one character grabs another character's chin to direct them into a kiss. I cannot handle that, that was done to me when I attempted to pull away from the boy I was with and he grabbed my chin and forced me to kiss him. Still, that is not anyone else's problem

But, it can be upsetting if I were to make a post on my own blog and say "I don't like seeing chin grab kisses in fanart, it's a bit too dubious consent for me" and someone were to comment a weirdly accusatory question on, I don't know, why premarital kissing makes me uncomfortable, it catches me off guard. It pulls up all those issues I have and makes me consider them when I am totally unprepared. Which is not a fun way to spend my afternoon, it is not.

So all of that, is an in-heartened plea, to use your block button. Honest to god. That's it, that's all I'm asking.

You don't know why someone has the opinion they do. I don't either. That's why when I do see people who heavily post this kind of thing, I block them, because maybe they have the same experience as me and cope in a different way. Maybe they don't. It's not important, who are they hurting? They're enjoying something, in a way I don't, they have that right just as I have the right not to see it.

You have that same right, if I post something you don't agree with, that upsets you, about Fenris, or any other character, you can just block me. It's fine. It's not personal

And maybe that person is a bigot, in that case, blocking them is really all you can do. Reporting as well. But you won't win a fight with them in the comments, and assuming everyone is bigoted is going to cause both you and them more pain than is necessary in a fandom space especially.

I make this post because... what else am I supposed to do? Really? Ask people to "Tag infantilzation of Fenris" what does that mean? What does that look like? That ignores all the nuance. The definition is radically different for each person you ask.

"Just leave the fandom!" I did. For years. I just came back to active involvement. I don't want to leave the fandom, I might if it becomes too mentally taxing, but I don't want to. I love this fandom, I love these people, I love these characters, I want to exist in a space where I can love them alongside other people. "Just leave" shouldn't have to be a go to solution

So I stay, and I block people, and every now and then, I vent on my blog when stuff slips through the cracks. It makes me feel better.

"Don't ever post opinions" is an option too but it's not a super... fair one. This is my blog, for opinions! Maybe I'll tag things less, maybe I'll try and judge what might be more inflammatory than I first thought, but I shouldn't just have to "stop posting opinions" and I shouldn't have to just "not read the comments" when the whole point is to talk to people.

I am getting true help for this as well, I'm only posting this because I believe that talking more openly about what happened is cathartic, and it is. A small comment upset me, so I'm gonna talk about it a bit. I'm working with a therapist and perhaps one day, I won't have these set-offs anymore, that's what I hope, but I do for now.

I'd like to vent when I can, in this space I've made for me before anyone else. All I ask is that you think about the person behind the screen, the person you don't know, who's life you can't know, and if they say something you don't like, block and leave them be.

HOW DOES BOHDIE SOUND DESIGN?

I'm gonna make a whole series of posts dedicated to just sound design at some point because BOY do I love just Fucking around with knobs and dials and buttons and claiming I have a profession. Shaping a sound into something I want it to be is kinda easy for me personally. How it usually goes is something like

Take a sound that is a good basis for the end product. Doesn't have to sound even anything like it, it could just have some of the elements you want. EG for this track I needed something organic and familiar sounding to start off with, as the end result I wanted to get was something familiar, yet warped and destroyed

Determine what you want to turn the sound into. Ideally this comes before even step one, but we'll ignore that

(here's the fun bit) GO FUCKING NUTS WITH PLUGINS. if you have outboard stuff that can achieve the same result, though, USE THAT. I just bought two (2) tape players/recorders on the cheap (more about what I'm using those for in another post one day)

TO CONCLUDE

Rounding out my insane ramblings on this post, I'm gonna mention the instrumentation, plugins, and other miscellaneous stuff in case you're interested: Mainly used Baby Audio's BA-01 synth, that goes for the bass tracks, pad and melody (although not the sub bass I used a built-in 808 for that) Plugins, as mentioned, a lot of Digitalis for digitising the cool organic, not-quite-there voices, as well as Deelay for the delay, RC-20 to add some flutter and noise, and a built in EQ and compression for light initial mixing. Boring stuff tbh :(

well this is my first post on my main blog about the editor if you don't know who tf that is it's my character from the showfall ask blog cinematic universe (not really as cinematic as it is just text but i can dream!) and i wanted to say some stuff on my main as to not clutter the editor blog with ooc stuff that bury the ending posts so here's some ideas that were unused some random facts

ok starting with unused content the biggest one was i was originally gonna have editor's escape be a choose your own adventure when you the reader were presented with options like "take the pipe" or "don't take the pipe" being one of the more pointless options and "ask for help" or "just run" being one of the more important with at least three and a half endings i though of for editor depending on the choices.

Ending 1: good? ending editor escapes with little to no harm done to her but she remains in the unknown about what really happened until the day she died.

Ending 2: game over ending editor is killed simple as that the last thing she would have seen is a image of her and her family as her life flashes before her eyes.

Ending 3: worse ending editor is trapped forever was only gonna be accessible if everyone chose the bad options or if no-one voted.

Ending 0.5: plant ending the plant gets mad if you leave it behind trapping the editor in christian hell forever (this wouldn't have been a possible ending just a troll i thought of)

another cut idea was i would have made a post about editor trying to kick down the door to the editing room but everytime falling

one was cut idea was originally editor was gonna steal a mannequin and fucking grind the rails of the stairs to the bottom floor (this was cut because i didn't want to include to many jokes in the escape stuff and i thought the pure comedy of editor running through showfall with a big plant was funny enough)

now for some little facts

1. editor actually lost an eye getting the broken pieces of the mask off before the escape

2. editor's ending was left open ended on purpose i felt it was kinda weird for the other characters to have for the most part bad endings and for those who didn't die or get y'know reprogrammed they didn't really have a yippee good ending either suffering from trauma that will last them forever so i decided to give editor the ending she has it's completely up to the reader of the blog what happens at the end to editor and what happens after the story it's what i thought was the best ending for the character

3. editor's real name is rose

4. the plant rose/editor (will be calling her rose for the rest of this post) took is named clippy after the Microsoft assistant

5. rose hates the color black because she thinks it's scary

final thing. rose's birthday is August 16th (year unknown) and has been in showfall since she was 14 though her age was locked at around 16 after she tried to escape

similar to lance and pidge, the two are decidedly Not close in the beginning 

i had an entire thing about how i imagine they became friends at first written out, but it was a tad too long and i didn't want to clog up the post with too much exposition. so instead, let's just skip forward and get into their dynamic after they become buddies :) (however, if anyone wants to see the backstory I would not be opposed) 

although he no longer has a crush on her, lance makes it a point to hype her up as much as he possibly can 

at first allura was confused, because she thought it was him trying to flirt with her still, but once she understood what was going on she was more than willing to join in 

lance when allura completely destroys the training droid: WOWZA ladies and gentlemen of the jury may I present to you the icon the legend the moment herself her royal highness princess allura of altea!!!!! if you thought that was impressive just WAIT till she gets warmed up because this is just the beginning!!! she can even do it in heels- 

shiro: lance, please focus, this is really important that we- 

allura: no no, shiro, please. let him finish. 

they both show their friendship in slightly different ways. lance's way is that he is physically incapable of not humouring the princess

allura's way is definitely safer, but it's also a lot more... cluttered. to say the least.

allura, returning from a recon mission with a tiny bag filled with what looks like tiny, glittery dinosaur figurines made of glass: lance! look at what i bought for you! 

lance, taking one look at the contents of the bag: wow, 'lurra, this is… so nice of you

allura: lance, are you. are you crying? 

lance (definitely crying): what? NO! of course not!! I'm just. allergic, to. uh. oxygen. 

allura: what. 

allura never had any siblings back on altea, but she always wanted them

this, paired with how much lance misses his own family, means that the two of them kind of gravitate towards each other in terms of siblinghood. 

as a child allura would imagine what it would be like to have siblings, but especially a twin. she would fall asleep to dreams of secret handshakes, finishing each other's sentences, and swapping places to trick people

she doesn't realise the brother she has found in lance until a long time after they've become close (how would she recognise a dynamic she has never been privy to?) 

this realisation happens on just a random day in the castleship lounge. she is talking to hunk, when suddenly lance, who she didn't even realise was listening to their conversation, butts in and finishes her sentence. 

she's annoyed at being interrupted at first, but then what happened sinks in, and suddenly she's fighting off tears. lance doesn't know why she's crying, but he hugs her anyway. 

the two of them match accessories a lot 

with allura's love of pretty things (and the abundance of stuff in her closet) paired with lance's natural dramatics, nobody else on the team is entirely sure of whether this is intentional or not. 

it started off as intentional. it is now second nature. 

one decision, however, was completely planned and thought out for exactly twenty minutes, and then deeply regretted by both parties for the next 48 hours

allura pierced lance's ears 

now before you get judgemental, you try making a smart decision at two am space-time while very giddy and slightly buzzing on some weird old alien candy that not even your resident alien is sure the ingredients of. then talk to me. 

pidge: okay so you're gonna need a needle, ice, and… yeah I'm pretty sure that's it 

lance: don't we need a potato too

pidge: … why the fuck would you need a potato 

lance: I dunno!!! my sister pierced her friend's ears one time and she mentioned a potato!!! I'm just trying to make sure everything goes well, pidge! 

allura: I love these earth customs you two are showing me!! when I got my ears pierced it was done with some kind of laser, but your way sounds much more fun :). 

allura: also, what is a "potato" and where can we find one? 

it goes about as well as you would expect 

the excited buzz on lance lasts about three ticks into the process, and then the screaming starts

pidge (the genius who came up with the idea) gives him some altean taffy to chew on to stop him from making too much noise, and allura, the angel, is babbling right along with him

the next day lance wakes up with ears that are very sore and slightly green, and allura faints

they spend the entire morning avoiding shiro in case they get in trouble and trying to figure out how to get the healing pods to work

lance: what do you mean you don't know allura you literally lived in one of these 

allura: I was asleep the whole time!!! don't put this on me!! 

lance: don't put- you are the one that pierced my ears, allura, of course it's on you!

coran, who has been watching this entire interaction in silence: oh, I thought i noticed something different about you, number three! 

lance and allura: [screaming] 

coran helps them set up the healing pod 

unfortunately lance has to take the earrings out, so the holes close back up, but fortunately coran just so happens to know how to pierce ears the correct way that they did on altea 

lance, after half a day in the healing pod, watching coran advance upon him with a literal handheld flamethrower that shoots lasers: is it too late to go back to the ear infection 

coran is surprisingly very adept at the skill of altean beautification (an activity that has a surprisingly long and rich backstory, which lance and allura get an in-depth lesson on for the hour that it takes to do lance's ears properly) 

they're exhausted afterwards, but lance looks great, so they're in good moods regardless 

they like to teach each other about things from their respective planets - both for fun, and because it helps them feel less homesick 

whenever allura is particularly down about the loss of altea, lance will visit her in her room, and the two of them will just lie together on her bed. 

they don't say much, most of the time, just link their pinkies together and stare at the ceiling 

when they do talk, it's quiet, and always allura who starts it - she might share something she remembers about altea, and lance listens quietly and then responds with something he misses about cuba 

it isn't always sad tho - sometimes they just talk about things they remember that pop into their heads, or explain things to each other that they wouldn't otherwise know 

at the space mall, they make a game out of pointing things out to each other and trying to guess what it is (allura can only guess when they're in the earth shop, but it's okay because she more than makes up for it in enthusiasm) 

lance, holding a my little pony collectible: okay princess. what is this.

allura, completely serious: a weapon

lance: ... close

allura, holding up a set of magnetic heart necklaces to the light: what does… "biffs" mean? 

lance: it's "bffs," princess, it means "best friends forever" 

allura: oh! you mean like me and you? 

lance: 

lance: 'lurra what did we say about making me cry in public, we've talked about this- 

(they buy the necklaces. obviously.)

they mess with each other's hair a lot

once allura learns that lance's hair is naturally curly, and that he just straightens it all of the time, she makes it her god-given mission to convince him to wear it naturally more often

this mission includes plans such as stealing his hair straightener, "donating" a bunch of curly hair products to him because she "doesn't have the space", and getting keith to say he thinks curly hair is cool one day in the rec room

she still thinks it's the funniest thing ever that that actually worked

other than week-long sabotage plots, they both think it's fun to have lance braid allura's hair

he used to braid his sister's and niece's hairs all of the time, so he has a knack for it that allura did not expect at all but is obsessed with anyway

allura, coming to lance's room a few hours before another diplomatic party: hey..... how yall doin.....

lance, already prepared with a million different brushes and bands: oh my god just get in already

lance and allura have a lot in common 

one of these things, they learn very early into their relationship, is that they are both disasters when it comes to pretty girls (and boys, but that's a lance-exclusive situation)

so they become each other's wingmen

they both tend to get… a little too into it

lance, seeing a pretty alien girl looking allura's way and "politely" speedwalking over to her: alluralluraalluraalluraalluralluraalluraalluraalluralluraalluraallura pretty girl look over there eleven o'clock LOOK she's gonna walk away looklooklook

and alternatively: 

allura tries to set lance and keith up all the time. at first she was worried she would be overstepping boundaries, but after one particular sleepover where lance spent an entire hour lamenting his "bad luck" she decided to take things into her own hands 

this includes, but is not limited to; sending them on supply missions alone together (often), mentioning particular things lance has done to his appearance to keith every time she can, and talking about specific paladin bonds more than she maybe should 

lance hates it

keith, walking into the lounge: h-

allura, immediately: hello keith!! help settle an argument, will you :)? 

keith: um… okay 

allura: lovely! now, tell me, do you think lance looks cuter today than he did yesterday? we can't seem to agree on whether or by he's stunning or simply handsome. what do you think?

allura: oh, and while I have you, have you noticed that his ears are pierced?

allura: what :(?? can't i be proud of my handiwork?? 

lance, to keith: I am not associated with her

after a week of this keith literally sets up a system where if allura is in a room he walks into he just does a complete 180 and walks back out

one time, at a diplomatic meeting, an alien politician mistook them for a couple and they both choked on their drinks at the same time, and then got offended that the other one agreed that the concept was insane 

allura: what happened to being the princess of your dreams, lance?? I thought I MEANT something to you. obviously! i was wrong! 

lance: oh yeah?? then why did you GIGGLE, allura. what's so funny, huh?? my good looks??? my charming charisma?? how far out of your league I am??? 

allura: 

lance: okay maybe that last one was a bit of a stretch 

another thing lance and allura do is pronounce each other's names wrong

they call each other lonce and allora 

it started as lance kind of making fun of allura's accent, but turned into just one of their Things 

allura honestly didn't know it was a bit until the habit had been long constructed

Hi! I’m back with another hc question! What inside/running jokes do the poets have with one another, and who started them? And a separate question, what do the rest of the student body think of the poets? Like are they famous or just another friend group and also are specific poets more famous than the others? I’ve always thought that Neil and Cameron would be famous as fairy godmothers who help poor first years with their homework and finding classes and stuff. Also Meeks is the library cryptid and you can’t tell me otherwise.

oooooo ok let's see!!!! this is going to be kind of a long post by the way, so buckle up

inside jokes

meeks and pitts def have like a shit ton of really confusing inside jokes and no one has no idea what they're talking about, they also pretty much communicate exclusively in vines, it's fascinating to see these two interact, really. meeks and pitts also have a foam box hanging from the ceiling of their dorm. there's a story behind that, probably.

then neil and charlie also have a bunch since they're close, probably about stupid stuff they did in the past that may or may not have gotten them in trouble. they always share them with the group and let them in the joke so they can all laugh about it, it's fun to have their own things and they do have some of their own things but y'know they love their friends and they wanna share all the stupid stuff they did with them.

now i'm sure neil and todd have their inside jokes being hopelessly in love and everything but todd actually has a bunch of them with cameron, they hang out a lot cause they love their friends, they really do, but they could really use some peace and quiet sometimes. so they actually have a bunch of inside jokes, but they mostly keep them to themselves because they've seen each other do some ridiculous stuff they don't want the others to know they're capable of, they don't really need to know why whenever they see a chihuahua todd asks cameron if he's gonna hunt it down, nothing good could come out of it.

charlie and cameron have an ongoing joke about how many pairs of shoes can fit in their dorm's closet and they keep taking guesses. everyone thinks they're joking and it's just something stupid they came up with because they didn't know what to disagree over, it's all fun and games until one day neil walks in and sees them trying to push the door of a suspiciously full closet. they wanted to see who was right. no one knows where they found all those shoes.

the group has a lot of inside jokes in general because they keep doing weird shit, they definitely reference the poems they read in the cave all the time, whenever they call each other and one of them asks who is it the one on the other line answers "it's god", they make innuendos with weird latin words meeks teaches them and then laugh whenever they're said in class, stuff like that.

social status thing!

okay, i'm actually really excited about this one because i kinda wanted to talk about how welton views the poets seperately, outside of the friend group. cause like they obviously know them as a group, there are some rumors of a secret society here and there in welton and let's be honest, they're an odd bunch, neil and the new kid and whatever the hell pitts and meeks are and Charlie Dalton (tm) and knox who probably has a bit of a reputation as a romantic and then cameron????? like what do these people have to do with each other??? so there's a lot of rumors about them, as a group. but seperately!!!!! let's look into that shall we!!!!!!!!

okay, so neil is definitely popular. he's friendly, he's extroverted, involved in pretty much everything, overall really chill, people like him. they all kinda know there's something going on with him because everyone knows neil's gonna be a doctor but he's never showed any interest in it and he definitely strikes everyone as a creative kind, so they know there's something going on there but no one ever addresses it cause that's how high school students are. neil is kind of welton's golden boy, everybody loves him, and if someone doesn't they're probably a dick who wants to start fights.

todd doesn't have much of a reputation aside from "jeffrey anderson's brother" since he's new and also so quiet, everyone just thinks he's a little shy and some people think he's weird but no one ever dares touch a hair on his head because they know he's with neil, and neil will go berserk if anyone tries to hurt him. not that most of them would want to, todd never did anything to anyone but y'know how some people are. it's like in mean girls where no one dared fuck with anyone who was regina's friend? that's what it's like being friends with neil.

okay, we all know charlie has a bit of a reputation. he's a troublemaker, likes to joke around, probably has a few enemies around welton because he tends to,, punch people a lot. everyone thinks he's kinda cool, some people think he's just annoying, which he kind of is sometimes let's be honest. also a considerable amount of people thought he was in love with neil. he was not. how everyone figured that out i'll leave up to you but i have a,,, few ideas for my beloved little group of chameron shippers, hi guys what's up we're living off of crumbs :)

okay, meeks and pitts go together, we all know that, they actually have kind of a history with,,,,, starting shit, basically, it really started as an accident, they blew something up in the science lab, but then they just said fuck it and kept going over the years, causing a lot of stupid shit, and now all the teachers kinda have their eye on them (hence the demerits, yay). but even the conjoined twins have their own reputations. meeks,,,,,, is kinda shady ngl. people go to him for help with weird stuff. like random people. none of the poets know what this is about, the only thing they know is that he rents banned books to students, but that doesn't explain much. also yes he definitely is the library cryptid. pitts on the other hand is perceived as much more,,, legal that meeks. he's kinda the guy you can always go to for anything, pitts has approximately zero enemies in welton. a lot of people think he's a little stupid, for some reason. he's not. he's smart as shit and it takes ten minutes of hanging out with him to figure that out.

cameron's kinda obvious, people think he's boring and a stick in the mud, but he's still respected because he's clearly impressively smart and will help anyone with homework even if he has his own shit to deal with, which means he can pull the "you owe me one" card at anyone any time he wants to, also he's under the neil perry umbrella and welton doesn't fuck with people under the neil perry umbrella, we've been over this. cameron's kinda intriguing though. no one knows anything about him and everyone thinks "there must be more to this guy than just being a huge dick", so there's a lot of conversation around welton about cameron and he never confirms nor denies anything purely because he thinks it's funny.

knox just kinda comes across as a romantic to everyone, he's always the ones with the love poems in class, getting super hyped for valentine's day, all that stuff. he's very bold so there have been a lot of misunderstandings with people, but he usually works things out, most people like him. knox is probably remembered for doing something really impulsive and really stupid once a few years back, but i can't decide what it is. like, not something impulsive and stupid in the way charlie does to fuck with people, just a,,,,,, really big fuck up, that made the whole school laugh and gave him kind of a positive reputation.
