listen... listen. i'd love just as much as anybody to get to make a fool of myself in person with all my fellow fools, as opposed to making a collective fool of ourselves online. I just don't know if we have the brainpower to organize it. The first dashcon, as far as i know, was a logistical disaster. I know there's a spreadsheet side of tumblr, and... *shudder* a business side (I checked) but are they willing to help? are we willing to accept their help?
More issues to consider: With the cost of living and travel and the very decentralized tumblr userbase, on what continent would dashcon 2.0 be held? would there need to be online signups? payments? a website? who would create and oversee those things?
What if we tried to have a number of smaller cons for different regions? Only around 600 folks have answered 100% YES on your poll - How many users need to show up before we have folks from enough major communities to feel like a true tumblr party? How do we guarantee those numbers? What about major blogs? do we just hope they show up or pay them to sign autographs? is it a multi-day affair, like dashcon tried to be, or do we aim low?
There is so much that goes into an event like this- transit, trucking, storage, space, sign-ups, accounting, licensing, begging, scheduling, convincing, emailing, hiring, firing, decorating, ordering, packing... I haven't even gotten to the tip of the iceberg meme.
Do we hire planners and event companies, or are we too embarrassed to ask? How does everyone work around their day jobs and careers? Who is organizing dashcon 2.0, and what is their stake in it? How do we not repeat the mistakes of those who came before us?
Anyway, if you're gonna do it, I want to help. let's talk.
hmm alright I have thoughts
because I agree, I don’t know if we have the brainpower or money to organize it. my sincere hope with posting about a hypothetical dashcon has been that some super determined millionaire would be like “hey here- have this money and here’s a bunch of connections I have to people to help you organize this”…..so basically lots and lots of wishful thinking lmao.
while the business side of tumblr does seem terrifying, we might have to accept their help if they’re willing.
all of the logistics you mentioned are very very true things that I imagine the original dashcon creators didn’t fully take into account (or i’d assume as much based on the chaos that ensued lol)
as for location, yeahhh that’s the definite hard part. in my head, I keep seeing this as like a vidcon (which is terrible because it wouldn’t be as big but idk) which is held in California. but idk how feasible that is for the average Tumblr base. and that does definitely cut down the amount of people that would be able or willing to come so idk.
and I also imagine having like panels and possibly meet and greets or something with major blog owners, but idk if we’d just beg them to come or find a way to pay them.
As for the whole last paragraph- aaaaah I have absolutely no idea.
i’m definitely not going to spearhead organizing such an event (mostly because I don’t want my real name associated with it in case it goes to shit again lmaoo) but if someone else had more resources to do so, I would absolutely be willing to help.
and if anyone sees this and has conference-planning experience and wants to help make a bunch of wishful Tumblr users dreams come true…. please let me know and i’d love to help!

I ended up liveblogging my entire rewatch of TBB S1 on Discord and the result was somewhat extensive, so I figured: why not stick it on my tumblr as well? Not because I expect anyone to read it, but because I’m very excited that having a week entirely to myself (I got covid for Christmas) resulted in me actually having the brainpower to form coherent thoughts about what I was watching. So here we go:
_________
Ep 1) This is my favourite episode. I love the opening setting with the snowy wilderness, especially as so much of the series takes place in more urban settings or indoors. Having seen the entire season, I also really like how the conflict between Hunter and Crosshair is established here already.
– Tech has so many great lines in the first half of this episode. He clearly has strong opinions and feelings about everything that's going on. I really like the way he's written.
– The mess hall scene still cracks me up. Poor Echo and Crosshair. 🤣
– The combat simulation is also so much fun. Like [friend] said, it's great to see all of them working as a team. I especially like the way Tech and Wrecker work together here, and how Tech translates the hand signals to Wrecker into a reference that he can understand ("what we did on Felucia").
– "Every choice you've made since Kaller has been wrong." I would love to know exactly what's going on in Crosshair's mind. Is he dealing with any dissonance at all, or is this the only truth he knows?
– I'm still disappointed and confused by Echo's lack of robo legs in the prison scene, but that's the only negative I find worth mentioning.
– The soundtrack from just after the prison break and until they run into Crosshair is very minimalist and cool.
_________
Ep 2) Omega finding dirt amazing is still so heart-warming and heart-breaking and hilarious all at the same time.
– This episode has some nice Echo moments. I like his expression when Tech points out that they've become deserters and how strongly he reacts when Cut mentions Rex.
– "Clones wanted names instead of numbers, but now people are signing up to be given numbers." This is definitely the line I remember the most clearly from this episode. It says so much about where the Empire is heading, but it also hits extra hard because Echo is most certainly thinking of one very specific clone when he says that first part. 😭
– Echo and Tech is another duo I really like seeing work together! Something that stood out to me this time around is how naturally Tech covers Echo while Echo is working, even though Tech is usually profiled as someone who would typically be on the other side of that arrangement.
_________
Ep 3) In which Echo and Tech continue to be a moderately successful team with limited interpersonal patience and trust. 😂
– I'd forgotten how Hunter, Tech, and Echo just keep shrugging at each other when Omega wants to go with Hunter to track down the dragon. They were raised as soldiers, so of course it's hard for them to think of a reason not to let her do the same things that they do.
– This episode is better than I remembered! I originally got a bit stuck on the 'Omega saves the day' plotline, but there's a lot more going more going on here.
– Crosshair's Kallus moment is so sad. 😭
– Wrecker is so sweet in this episode. 🥺 I like that being a good caretaker doesn't come naturally to him just because he has more emotional awareness, but that we get to see him put conscious effort into it.
_________
[Here comes a side note I added:]
Something I've thought about repeatedly during this rewatch so far is how deeply I disagree with the notion that Tech is a stereotype. He's usually less emotionally expressive than the others, but he clearly has strong feelings about Order 66 and the Empire. He frequently talks over people's heads, but he's also able to facilitate communication between his team members ("what we did on Felucia"). He's the brains of the group, but he dual wields 17's like an ARC and has never been shown as anything less than proficient in combat. He's a little awkward with Omega, but is clearly shown looking out for her.
_________
Ep 4) In which Tech has to remind his team that they live in a capitalist society.
– Echo and Omega inspecting the clone trooper doll always kills me. 😭
– Hunter selling Echo is still way funnier than it should be. "Fine, but not at that price. I'm worth more than 2000." 🤣
– "You got me for a bargain." 🤣 🤣🤣
– It makes me weirdly happy to see Echo command his little squad of droid mechanics. He's taking control over a situation that must have been very uncomfortable for him. 🥺
– (What I really want to know is why Echo had a droid costume in the first place. There has got to be a story there.)
_________
Ep 5) In which Tech gets to berate Echo for leaving out information (about not having met Cid).
– "Or he was arrested for violating countless health code regulations." 🤣
– I love Echo's little smirk when he's stopping Omega from touching things.
– ... and how Wrecker holds out his hand for Omega to high five when Cid says that she's the brains.
– Returning to the opening of the episode, I like that we see the boys taking steps to ensure Omega's safety. They're learning from their mistakes!
– I know that the conversation about slavery seems like a missed opportunity to address the Republic's ownership of the clones, but I feel like Omega holding the clone trooper doll still kind of addresses it in a very subtle way. The clones clearly don't think of themselves as slaves, so it's not something they can talk about, but an observant viewer might notice the clone as an object in Omega's hands and put two and two together. Unless it's a coincidence and I'm giving the producers way too much credit, but I'd really like to think it was intentional. 😶
– Wrecker references a previous mission to communicate with the others - check!
– After mainly getting bonked in the head in the previous ep, it's nice to see Wrecker save the day.
_________
Ep 6) In which absolutely no one thinks it's a bad idea to let Omega shoot space arrows towards the door opening where anyone can enter at any moment. 🤣
– Echo is so sweet with Omega even though he has no idea how to train a child that isn't a clone cadet.
– Ah, yes, it's time for "is there an echo in here"! It's so silly and easily one of my favourite moments in the show.
– I like Trace and Rafa, and I think they have a fun dynamic with the BB. I wouldn't mind seeing them again in S2.
– Hunter is pretty cool in this episode.
– Actually, they all look cooler (and weirder 💕) when juxtaposed with some normal people. I love it when a show makes me shift to an outsider POV for a moment and lets me have a fresh look at the protagonists. (The upcoming Ryloth plotline would be the main example of this.)
– [Here I tagged a friend whom I had been talking about Tech with], another emotional Tech moment: Tech is clearly disturbed by the news that their attempt to retrieve the tactical droid came close to sabotaging Trace's and Rafa's mission for the rebellion.
_________
Ep 7)
– Rex is so good with Omega. 🥺
– There's a very satisfying hissing sound when Echo's helmet fits itself around his cybernetics.
– The Fives mention! I so hope that Echo and Rex will have another little chat about Fives in S2.
– The sound effects and music when Wrecker's chip kicks in are so good. Again, the soundtrack turns minimalist and industrial when the BB is in danger from one of their own. The result is super cool and I appreciate being able to enjoy the scene without having to lower the volume.
– As much as I think Wrecker gets hit too hard with the comic relief tropes (though it's perfectly understandable given that it's a family show), it probably serves to make him even more terrifying in these scenes. That, and the fact that the camera spends so much time at Omega's eye level.
– Ugh, this is such a good episode. Such an emotional rollercoaster.
_________
Ep 8) In which Echo takes a very sexy shot.
Tumblr media
– Can anyone else make sense of the scene where they're heading back into the Venator and Echo looks like he's reaching out for Omega, but Wrecker notices and slaps him? It's so weird to me. 😂
– Poor Echo really wanted to go with Rex. 😔
– I like the scene with Tech and Omega, and I think a lot of other autistic people would agree that "What was the war like?" is a rather hopeless question to answer. 😅
– I think this episode shows that Tech's optimism, rather than overconfidence, is one of his main weaknesses.
– "I've never been inside an ion engine before" / "It'd be weirder if you had" 🤣
– The old Venator was such a cool choice of location. I love the visuals of the engine.
– The scene with Cad Bane and Hunter is pretty good and I like the soundtrack, but I do feel that it fits poorly in the episode, especially in the middle of all that Crosshair whump (which is glorious), though I suppose Hunter getting injured at the same time as Crosshair makes for a good way to continue to connect them in the narrative. Then comes the FPS view, which makes me claustrophobic and nauseated, so I'm probably biased against it, but I don't think it fits either. Opening the next episode with it might have worked a lot better! I do think it's fun that the producers dared to experiment with style and genre, and I certainly don't hate the result, but I wish it would have been put together more smoothly (though it's very possible that this would have required additional minutes that the budget didn't allow for).
_________
Ep 10) In which we are reminded that Echo's moral compass is actually biased, and Echo meets a Separatist who challenges that bias, resulting in ✨ character development ✨
– Echo sniffing the Mantell Mix is still so funny.
– "You and Omega loop back around" / "That would be impossible seeing as Omega is not on this mission" 😭
– I don't think I'm supposed to find the AT-TE's cute, but they look like big, friendly animals.
– "I never much cared for that vase" 😂
– Wrecker has some really nice badass moments in this episode.
_________
Ep 11) It's Ryloth time! I watched TBB before Rebels, so it's really fun to watch this again now that I know who everyone is and where they end up.
– I don't imagine Crosshair ever got to voice his opinions like he does on Ryloth when he was still a member of the GAR. Crosshair has so many reasons to stay loyal to the Empire, which is something I really like about the show.
– And here we go! The outsider perspective on the protagonists. The Marauder landing and the BB disembarking still gives me goosebumps. I'm such a dork. 😅
– Omega's and Hera's friendship is so adorable. I don't know much about children, but I feel like their scenes together are really well written.
_________
Ep 12) I still have an hour to go before this year ends (or I did when I started typing this), so let's finish the Ryloth arc before my parents call me and the fireworks start. 😆
– "Don't worry, we're defective too" 🥺
– Tech's optimism again! "Children often overreact."
– Meanwhile, Omega has finally got Hunter wrapped completely around her finger. ❤️
– Hunter senses the probe droid! We really don't get to see him use his abilities enough.
– Ahh, the staring contest between Crosshair and Howzer. It's the kind of scene that feels like it exists to inspire fanfiction. 😂
– I like Howzer just fine, but I have the weirdest case of jealousy when it comes to his imitation of Fives. I just don't like it when people act as if he's more amazing than Fives, because he isn't. He isn't. 😡 (🤣)
– Hera flying the shuttle is so funny, both the general chaos and Tech's reactions. "Yes, your dangerous and uncontrolled maneuvering is as confusing to them as it is to us." 🤣
– Also, I've been wanting to mention this for just about every episode, but I love how good of a pilot Tech is.
_________
Ep 13) Seeing as I'm now very much awake, I'll watch one more episode tonight.
– I love that the Weequay and the Ithorian apparently just follow Cid wherever she goes. I have no idea what their relationship with Cid is, but the three of them are clearly some sort of package deal.
– Echo's "the what?" when Cid mentions the hive is so funny.
– When Hunter keeps shielding Omega from the Pykes and the Pyke says they're going to keep her as a hostage and all the boys draw their blasters. 🥺😭
_________
Ep 14) I'm having too much fun. Just one more episode.
– Omega watching Hunter twirl his knife and trying it with her hyperspanner is the cutest thing EVER.
– The face Echo makes at Hunter when they're debating whether to help Gregor is amazing. Like the angriest puppy dog eyes. I'd love to think that he picked it up from Omega, who clearly has great success when using it on Hunter.
– "You did that on Skako Minor when you rescued me" still makes me emotional. 🥺
– "That's Captain Traitor" is still so funny.
– I really enjoy Tech's piloting in this episode, and the way he takes over from Omega is so sweet.
– Seeing Hunter all alone in the forest, ordering the others to leave him behind, still hurts.
_________
Ep 15) In which Crosshair steals the entire show.
– Echo is so sweet when he kneels down to check on Omega. 🥺
– The scenes with Hunter and Crosshair are so intense. "We didn't have a choice." / "And I did?" 😭
– Tech's "How could I possibly know that?" is so funny, and the way Wrecker just assumes that Tech knows everything is so sweet.
– I've been trying to figure out what the chain of command looks like when Hunter is gone, but I still haven't reached a conclusion. I would assume that Tech is in command, but he and Echo seem like they share the job?
– "You weren't loyal to me. [insert full speech here]" 😭 I just love Crosshair's entire thing in the training room. Just everything he says and does. The sequence where Tech sees the reflection in the knife is also amazing.
– I've said this before, but I'll say it again: Crosshair is right about Omega. If the point is to protect her from danger, then Hunter is doing it wrong. (And Crosshair knows this first hand. On Bracca, when he still had his chip, he ordered his troopers to aim for Omega. That wouldn't have happened if Hunter hadn't brought her there in the first place.)
_________
Ep 16)
– Ah yes, the poor clone who has to report on the destruction of Kamino.
– Ah yes, let's almost drown Crosshair. His life is the worst. And the way he rips his arm away from Omega the second he's free. 😭
– ... only to slide on his back across the floor and look super pathetic at Hunter's feet. Oh how the stickly have fallen. 😔
– The dialogue in the underwater tunnel is one of the best in all of SW imo. It just makes me really happy that these characters are allowed to be complicated and have complicated relationships with each other. And what Tech says to Crosshair is something a lot of people in this fandom need to get tattooed on the inside of their eyelids. You can understand someone without agreeing with them.
– Seeing Crosshair and Hunter stuffed into that pod together makes me feel a thousand emotions on top of the ones I was already drowning in. (Tech and Echo sharing one is also pretty cute.)
– "I can't see anything. / "That is a good thing." 😅
– The music when Omega goes after AZI is so damn good.
– Crosshair's reaction to all the others aiming at him after he takes that shot absolutely murders me. He's so resigned when he sits back down. No one even says thank you.
– Crosshair always seems to be the last to get up in this episode. It's not just that he actively keeps his distance to the others. He moves more slowly. Not to mention the way he almost falls apart in the lab before Omega approaches and he has to act functional again. He's not doing well at all. And with that, my fanboy batteries are fully charged and I'm vibrating at top speed in anticipation of S2. ✨

HAPPY NEW YEAR RYEN 🎆🎇( its 2023 here already and want to start the year with thanking people who carried me through last year) I hope this new year treats you well and help you archive everything you want o((^▽^))o
When I say I definitely would not have been able to survive this year without your blog ( both you and your writings ) I truly mean it (θ‿θ) simply saying this may not make you realize how much you helped me but now you are basically my older sister which I never had ಥ‿ಥ ( yes claiming you as my sister now hehe) *send you a hug and a hundred*
It's also been one year since I discovered 3tan cause I found it like a month after it was posted, so 'happy 3taniversary' and to discovering your blog ( ╹▽╹ ) my first story was actually 'ugh f*ck' ( talk about an introduction) before I read 3 tangerines like a few days later and realized you wrote both stories (≧▽≦) I end up reading rest of your masterlist after that (✿^‿^) and end up commenting for the first time ever which was how comfortable I feel around here (ㆁωㆁ) Thank you again for the amazing stories you give us which I'm sure take lot of brain power and thank you for creating this loving community too (人 •͈ᴗ•͈) I hope you are proud of what you did this year even though you may have regrets. Just know you made a person who lives oceans away from you happy and inspired multiple times throughout the year (◠‿◕)
Excited to see what another year with you brings and to start a new chapter of my life \(^o^)/I have not been excited for a new year in years cause nothing seems to be different anyways but things will be very different this year I'm both excited and scared but hopefully I can make it work and get step closer to how to the life I want to live (✷‿✷)
ps. My commentary is coming along , I seems to have underestimate how burnout I was but I have started multiple chapters and they are all coming up together. You can expect to get them all this month hopefully (っ.❛ ᴗ ❛.)っ
-🍯
HONEY BABYYYY omfg i smiled so wide when i saw this message i'm screaming !! first, i'm glad that you're actually excited for this new year and going for the life you want to live. i'm doing the same, so let's go for it together :D
thank you so much for reaching out. when i tell you that you and your feedback box commentaries have been the fuel that keeps me going, i sincerely mean it. i spent so much time going through your feedback and squealing/laughing/crying the whole way through. no matter what i was doing - even if i was on my afternoon runs - i would get the emails and stop what i was doing to read them<33 and then would go back and read them again later in the night when i had time to settle in and read a lot more relaxed. each time, they have given me much joy, so thank you endlessly.
i can be the older sister you've never had! of course i can be that for you, babe. you're so sweet. i'm glad you were able to find this blog (and ahahaha both ugh f*ck and 3tan?? what a combo!) it's been a joy to have you. you never fail to mention the work and brainpower that writing this series takes, and it makes me feel better each time. this does take a lot of me so thank you for highlighting those aspects of the process. you've made this person happy, too. happy new year and i'll be thinking of you when i see fireworks🎆🎇

I love your art and ur MC AU, I desperately need to see what fjeth is doing
a compilation of veth sneakily following fjord around wherever he is with her crossbow at the ready—
imagine this: fjord makes it to the end, but he spawns off of the mainland that has the pillars and endermen, so he’s gotta build a cobblestone path to get there. but just before he makes it, veth shoots him with her crossbow in a sneak attack and fjord falls into the void 🥴
hjGJDND but legit thank you!!
(if anyone wants to suggest some ideas for the au with how some of the nein are interacting in minecraft,,, i am all ears)
now here’s me being obligatorily ramble-y about the au:
the thing about this au is that i need at least one other person to help me if i wanted to have multiple of the nein playing / interacting together. i was able to get away with that first post because i had beau, yasha, and jes be separated, but implied that they’re in the same world. so i only had to change my inventory.
but in the future i kinda want them to be interacting more? like actually see the other characters’ minecraft skins. (watch me slide onto my social media like “heyyyyyy........anyone out there willing to change their minecraft skin and maybe username to help me grab screenshots for my mighty nein streamer au—“)
though i do have a molly and beau one upcoming! fortunately my sibling already had a molly/lucien related mc name before i made that au AND a molly skin, so i asked them to help me grab a few screenshots for it.

Alright these are my thoughts on @dreammirmir post on the Yato situation.
🧡💛🧡💛🧡💛🧡💛🧡💛🧡💛🧡💛🧡💛🧡💛
°The aging up characters stuff.
You may disagree with me which is fine but I don't see it as a problem. They are 2d fictional characters with no self awareness what so ever. I am able to separate fiction from reality as I am not attracted to teenagers who are actual human beings who can be hurt and taken advantage of.
On this stance I've held it for a long time.
Not to mention My Hero Academia is a Flash Back from Izuku's perspective as they are all adults now, as well as for Haikyuu characters where they actually get to be in their 20s and in college in canon. Cece in her audios never mentions Highschool and always mentions how they are Pro Heros (for my hero) and in College (for Haikyuu) and I know this because I have been a listener since almost the beginning.
I find it silly that people harp on stuff like this with Cece, when fanfiction is a thing. On this I will not change.
I myself am almost reaching 30 and I am still in love with characters from my teens. Does that make me wrong? Does that make me disgusting? I don't think so. I will continue to age and they will stay forever the same which is why I feel the way I do about this. It doesn't matter because they're 2d. A piece of media and nothing more.
°On Cece disapearing.
Try to put yourself in her shoes for a moment. You're a tiny youtuber in a niche market for a year and then suddenly BOOM you explode in popularity over the course of 2020! Your Patreon is taking off, people are looking up to you, your in charge of a whole community, the moneys coming in, things are nuts! On top of that you have people taking advantage of you, fucking up the discord, making drama here and there and people who come over just to hate on you for what you do and all of this happens in one year. I would want to dissappear for a bit to and get my thoughts together. Not to mention her own mental health, her own depression. Thats a lot for one person to take on. Just because she's an adult doesn't mean she's immune to hate.
°Now the a.k.a. grooming and victim
Those discord chats don't look like grooming. They look like two people, that if you didn't know they're ages, would just be shooting the shit.
Now I might be wrong to some people but I am also of the mind that if the person thinks something is shady they should have known better. I'm not victim blaming, I'm just saying it's common sense. And sure every teen is different but I would like to give the benefit of the doubt that they are smarter than I was at their age.
To me these allegations look like a twisting of the narrative presented.
Again just my thoughts.
°And lastly her content
As long as I've been listening Cece's gone out of her way to educate herself when something she does or says on her audios triggers her listeners. She's never malicious with her content and goes out of her way to post trigger warnings in her descriptions. Now if people ignore those it's on them. They can't order a jalapeno pizza and then complain that it's too spicy.
On top of that she made the patreon to keep her spiciest audios behind a pay wall as well as age restrict her content against minors. She can't police the entire community and putting that sort of responsibility on one person is ridiculous.
If under age people are getting to her things it's on them not Cece.
Yes they should be careful on what they watch and listen too because they be too young but you can't hold that over someone like it's they're fault when they've done what they can.
Is it South Parks fault that I watched them at 12? Nope. Maybe my parents but certainly not South Park on their end.
°Random thought
I personally didn't find anything wrong with the Fatgum audio and I'm not saying this because I'm biased. If it made you personally uncomfortable than I'm sorry it did.
I don't know how old you are but we don't know anything at 20 let alone 30. People can make mistakes and she apologized for them. Her changing her name and discreetly apologizing to the "victim" is her business and as much as we want to know about it thats not up to us. They're allowed privacy on both ends and anyone trying to dox either of them is an asshole.
💛🧡💛🧡💛🧡💛🧡💛🧡💛🧡💛🧡💛🧡💛🧡
I may have missed a couple of things here and there but over all these are my thoughts on everything I have the brainpower to think of right now. Call me naive, call me blind but I believe in Cece. I'm not trying to change anyones mind because sometimes people's minds are made up and that's fine. I just want people to see the different perspectives is all.
Thank you for reading. Stay safe, love you lots and hope everyone has a nice day.
Also feel free to message me about anything anytime.🧡💛

hi! newly diagnosed here! i’m kinda confused by some terms, ive recently learnt about samefoods but ive noticed the community uses a lot of terms to describe things and i feel sorta out of the loop. is there any basic things i should know?
Oh, hi!  Welcome to the autistic community! ^_^
So as for basic terms, I recently made a post that covers a bunch of those, and that is here.
But since you asked specifically about samefoods, I’ll go into that a little more.
Because most autistic brains struggle with sensory input, we are constantly, constantly trying to look for ways to reduce the amount of sensory processing our brain has to do.
Something that is familiar, that we’ve experienced before, is a great way to do that.  The easiest example is to think of sleeping in a place that isn’t your house.  Even allistics experience this, where when you sleep somewhere different than you’re used to, it takes you longer to fall asleep, because of unfamiliar sensory input.  The bed feels different.  The blankets feel different.  The sheets smell different.  The walls creak in a different way, the heat comes on with a different sound.  All very small things that we don’t notice when we’re awake, but once you try to sleep suddenly these differences are really big.
Of course, there aren’t more sounds/smells in the unfamiliar place.  Every building has creaky walls, even new ones.  Every bed has sheets and blankets.  It’s that the sensory input is unfamiliar.  Because when you’re at home, the sounds and smells ARE familiar, and so our brains do a magical thing called “filtering”.
Our brains filter constantly.  Our eyes see millions of photons every second. But we don’t think about a million things every second.  We only think about a few objects that our brain is considering “important”.  So if I’m sitting in my living room, I am much, much more likely to notice and pay attention to the TV, which is moving and making sound, than to a sock on the floor that’s been there all week, because my brain is filtering the sock out.  It already knows that it’s there, and so I don’t have to pay attention to it.  I can save my brainpower for other things.
The problem with autistic brains is that they struggle to filter.  Our brains don’t know what to filter out.  While an allistic brain might spend 20% of it’s brainpower on processing new information, to an autistic brain almost everything is new information, all the time.  So we’re spending 95% of our processing power just on trying to filter the world around us.
Enter: Sameness.  Samefoods, samesongs, samemovies, sameclothes.
When your brain is constantly unsure of what to filter out, and is constantly exhausting itself trying to process new smells, new sounds, new touches, etc.  the way you can give  it a break is by giving it input that it knows already.
Watching a NEW movie is exhausting, whereas watching a movie I’ve seen before is comforting, because I know what’s going to happen!  For two hours of my life, my brain can actually rest, and not have to process every single thing that happens, because it already knows!
Samefoods come into play here because you have to eat.  You must.  But if your brain is already overloaded, or nearly overloaded, from sensory input, and you cannot handle any more new input, then you’ve got to eat something that you know what it tastes like, feels like, smells like.  Eating involves all 5 senses and is VERY sensory intense.  The food has to look the same, sound the same, taste the same, smell the same, AND feel the same.   But if it does?  HEAVEN. Absolute heaven, because ahhhhhhhhhhhh, I can actually relax, and for a little while I can just enjoy the sensory experience of something because I don’t have to process the hell out of it.
Another reason autistic people need samefoods is because of the risk of Bad Sensory Input.  Bad Input, with capital letters, is different from bad input with lowercase letters.
For example, the dumpster is a bad smell.  It smells yucky.  Nobody likes a dumpster smell.  But for me, it’s just a regular “unpleasant” smell.  I can keep walking past it and talking and doing my life, and I’m just happier when the smell is gone.  This is how allistics experience senses.
However, for me, the smell of floral candles is a Bad Smell.  The intensity of the awfulness is far, far beyond description.  It physically hurts, when I smell floral candles I feel like I will vomit, I need to run out of the room, I need to hurry up and smell something good to “erase” the Bad Smell from my nose, and if I’m forced to stay in that area I will go into a meltdown, scream, kick, fight, do anything to get away from that smell.  That is the difference between a regular bad input and a Bad Input.
So with eating, if a food contains a Bad Input, then an autistic person CANNOT eat that food.  It isn’t they “prefer” not to eat that food.  They physically CAN’T eat it.  Allistics do not understand this.  As lovely as some of my allistic friends and family are, and as many other autistic traits they have come to grasp, this one always eludes them.  They always say “Snazzy prefers not to eat X.” NO.  I physically cannot eat that, because one or more of the inputs from that food (sight, sound, taste, smell, touch) is Bad.
This eliminates foods from our list of what we can eat.  Now every autistic person has different amounts of Bad Inputs.  Some autistic people might only have a few, and so the foods they can’t eat is a short list.  But for me, and for many autistics, the Bad Inputs are so numerous that the list of foods I can’t eat is so looooong, that the shorter list is the foods that I can eat.
And so those are my samefoods.  The list of foods that I can eat is very short, because there are so many Bad Inputs for me that I can’t eat many, many foods.
So those are the two big reasons why autistics have samefoods.  It’s a food that you always eat either because 1) Your brain can’t handle new input right now (even if it’s good!  New is just Too Much at this moment), and so it needs something familiar, or 2) You have to protect yourself from Bad Sensory Input.
This is also why we have samesongs, samemovies, sameclothes, and other “sames”.  It is also why we need routines.  For our brains, unpredictability is very difficult to process and is easily overwhelming, and so the way to avoid that is to have as much predictability in our lives as possible.
Same is good.  Same is safe.  Same is rest for your brain.

Something I’ve noticed is that people seem to find it hard to believe that Jimin actually is quite shy. To me it is so obvious that I don’t understand why people don’t see it. Shyness doesn’t equal having to be introverted. And there are different levels of shyness and people can be shy in one situation and not in another. I get that Jimin is brave and quite shameless on stage and on other performing contexts and people might see that and say he can’t be shy. But then we get those glimpses of
him being shy and to me it looks genuine (and I don’t mean the ”i’m shy” dance here), and maybe (this is just my opinion) it is more the real Jimin. Another thing, I don’t think most (at least those who don’t pay so much attention to Jimin) notice how sensitive he is too, he wouldn’t be so intuned with everyone’s emotional needs if he wasn’t, but I am kind of going off topic here so I should stop before I write a novel (I love him too much).
hello lovely, first of all, i’d like to apologize for getting back to you a week late. i’ve been re-reading your ask and nodding along because yes, you totally see it too! but sometimes it takes me a lot of brainpower to think about how i want to reply. i really like to give back honest, thought out responses and i’ve simply been a bit put out in terms of energy, thus this very late reply. i hope you can still see it :( (and forgive me, but that’s up to you!)
personally, i think jimin is a very complex person and he has this way of sharing things with fans, while simultaneously keeping up a subtle wall about other things. he’s a very charming person, but the exuberant personality that comes on a bit extra during work hours is very good at dissuading people from noticing other things about him. his shyness in certain situations, for instance. you’re right, he is bold and shameless, and damn good at performing, and that doesn’t mean he can’t experience bouts of shyness like everyone else. i think some people hold onto the idea they have of him based on the content they consume, which makes sense since none of us know him personally.
parts of the members’ personalities were often exaggerated and blown up in bts’ early days too (i.e. yoongi is lazy/cold, jimin is loud/greasy, taehyung is 4d (even though he didn’t like to be told this or called “alien”), etc.). in a way, both bts and the fans have outgrown these exaggerations, but sometimes it is hard for others to reconcile an image they have of someone (like people saying they “miss the old tae” when he’s just matured and is perfectly happy being who he is now). from the get-go, fetus!jimin was told to flash his abs on stage when he was still basically a kid and act a certain way in the name of the group’s concept. when describing the way he acted back then, older jimin said “you were trying very hard” “your eyes looked eager to show something” “i felt somewhat sorry for you too” “hurry up and be me soon.”
although jimin is no longer stifled by keeping up a loud, hypermasculine version of himself, i think there are lingering expectations that people have about the way he should behave. when people think of “jimin” they think “confident, bubbly, bold” right away. he is all these things, of course, but just like all multi-faceted human beings, he’s also quiet, pensive, shy, tired, sometimes even anxious or nervous. the mistake we sometimes make as fans is boxing them in and telling them “don’t stray too far from here, this is what i know to be true about you.”
i think jimin is a very empathetic person, and i agree that to be as emotionally intelligent and perceptive as he is, he’s got to be very sensitive too. he’s very hard on himself, sensitive to criticism, a pillar of strength and emotional support to his loved ones, he believes in the importance of open communication, (insert cute clip of “listening, thinking, talking- i love all!”), and so much more.
well, it looks like i finished the novel for you, my dear! i love him too, it’s always a pleasure to let it all out hehe. this was all just my opinion so take everything with a grain of salt. thank you for sending this in, i’m sorry for the length of my response, and bless your heart if you read through all this (if you managed to!) ♡

Two-Faced Jewel supplemental: The Ecumenes and the Gods
Tumblr media
Roughly 250 years ago, the world was tightly-linked by teleportation magic. People could visit any city on the Jewel in the blink of an eye, and the idea of national borders was pretty meaningless. Instead, there were distributed, nonlocal governments that competed for citizens.
(If you've read any of Terra Ignota, you'd recognize the hive system.)
The death of teleportation magic has shattered the world into local polities with their own governments, but the six Ecumenes still hold varying sway over the population to varying degrees. Their individual law systems are still largely recognized by local governments, and their cultural impact is felt the world over.
The Ecumenes are, of course, churches of the gods. Below are their profiles, and overviews of their legal systems.
Tumblr media
Eman, Windspinner, is the God of Freedom.
Eman is the Ecumene for those with no Ecumene- those who feel no need for the law to protect them, or can't stomach the restrictions of other gods. (Analogous to Blacklaws, in Terra Ignota.) No law will protect you if someone wants you dead, or tries to steal your things- but if you're a dyed-in-the-wool anarchist and believe in your own ability to navigate the world without an authority above you, the Ecumene of Eman will... do nothing whatsoever for you, because it's barely an organization. Typical adherents of Eman are either self-assured warriors, unrepentant violent criminals, or both.
Eman, the god, has a total commitment to autonomy and asks nothing of his worshippers. His clerics do, as is their ultimate inviolable commandment: whatever they want. Typically, though, the sort of person whose mind is similar enough to Eman's to be capable of channeling his divinity as a cleric... cares a lot about the freedom of others, and goes about trying to prevent other authorities from unlawfully enforcing laws on Emanites.
Tumblr media
Andra, Veilpiercer, is the Deity of Understanding.
Andra is a pretty standard deity of wisdom and knowledge and all that- nothing unexpected there. They just want to know everything, and value learning new things!
The governance of the Ecumene of Understanding is very interested in empiricism. They want to know what the best form of government is, and do that, instead of picking one way of doing government and sticking with that no matter how badly it backfires. So they run experiments!
Under Andra, there's no such thing as a law that doesn't have an intended outcome, a standard for measuring whether it met that outcome, and a deadline to measure the outcome by or else repeal the law. As a result... the legal code is constantly changing based on heated arguments between politicians and armchair legal theorists (between which there is little distinction) over whether targets were met. And what this means is that the legal code is in constant flux, and you basically need to be a part-time lawyer to keep up with the laws governing you.
Making matters worse, teleportation and long-distance communication broke, and so geographically distant Andra polities now need to work harder to stay in sync. The Ecumene of Andra, therefore, is the major force behind the building of roads, and the sponsoring of adventurers who do the hard work of forging through the wilderness to deliver messages. They sponsor the Deathseekers' Guild, a brotherhood of monster hunters that take on the most dangerous prey they can find.
Typical adherents are academics, adventurers, and people who think they're smart enough to keep up.
Tumblr media
Diamode, Fruitbearer, is the Goddess of Family.
Diamode has a plan for you! You go to school, obey your parents, graduate and get married, buy a house in the suburbs, have 2-3 children, care for them, retire, be cared for by them, and die. That's the plan. Their legal code encourages filial piety and conformity to this perfect way to live your life. Tax breaks for married couples, credits for having children- be fruitful and multiply! It's sort of the bastard child of Confucianism and protestant Christianity- it would absolutely be the most popular ecumene in the US, if that were how such things worked.
Typical adherents of Diamode are... there's only one typical adherent of Diamode, because the whole point is being the one way Diamode wants you to be.
Tumblr media
Iska, Peakstrider, is the Goddess of Triumph.
Iska values self-improvement above all else- becoming Better, developing skills, climbing that ladder. There's no point to living if you're not trying to be the best at what you do! If it makes you stronger, it's the right thing to do!
Unsurprisingly, this is a popular goddess amongst warlords and merchants, who like having a divine mandate to enrich themselves at the expense of others. Iska only cares that you're winning- if someone else is losing, that's not her problem. They get whatever they deserved for being worse at whatever the conflict was about!
Iska's legal system is based on a sort of complicated virtue-ethical rubric. The winner of a legal dispute isn't the person who acted least criminally- the winner is whoever is the better person. And the criteria for who's "better" are set by people in power in the Ecumene of Triumph, which means "better" tends towards "more like the people in power", and "less like the enemies of the people in power". It's a fairly degenerate system, full of lots of infighting.
Tumblr media
Ccorde, Skyholder, is the Goddess of Harmony.
Back when the gods were creating the world, Ccorde was responsible for keeping them all on the same page. She arbitrated disputes and authored compromises that would keep the gods on-task and creating something stable. She's... the reason the world isn't a Snarl, if you're familiar with OotS. She wants everyone to get along.
Everyone who's a god, anyway. She kinda likes it when people get along, but her number one priority is making sure people don't fuck up the world she worked so hard to broker. She has a lot of rules around how people are allowed to change and interact with nature, and she leans towards the hyperconservative with respect to the environment. She wants this world to be exactly the way it is, forever, and is annoyed by ways in which it changes.
Unlike most of the rest of the gods, Ccorde is fairly active in the management of her Ecumene. The rest have all moved on to the latest hot new world everyone's obsessed with, leaving Ccorde to conduct the busywork of keeping all their boring old worlds running smoothly. It's thankless and borderline futile work- big things like teleportation magic keep breaking, and she can't fix them on her own.
Typical adherents of Ccorde are druids, naturalists, and other hippies that love animals and being in tune with the environment and stuff. Ccorde's Ecumene is also one of the more competently-run bureaucracies around, and has a lot of non-ideological adherents despite its strict rules. Because the system works, dammit- without demanding as much from you as Diamode.
Tumblr media
Karou, Heartlifter, is the God of Joy.
The Ecumene of Joy are hedonists. Hedonic utilitarians, to be precise. They eschew other considerations in favor of the basic observation that people ought to be happy and if your government doesn't help its people be happy then what the fuck is even the point of a government?
Implementing those principles, though, can be a bit of a mess. Working out complicated legal codes is boring and not fun, so their system for resolving legal disputes is "have a cleric of Karou personally evaluate what course of action would result in the most utility on net".
In the real world this would be a disaster- a system immediately captured by power-hungry narcissists who set themselves up as the people who decide what course of action is best. Luckily for the Ecumene of Joy, they have a pretty decent selection process for their leaders.
See, in order to be a cleric of any god in this world, you need to fulfill a specific requirement. What a cleric actually does is channel divinity, see. The gods are busy people! They don't have time to personally investigate each and every little issue their clerics bother them with. They're just people, ultimately- they don't have the spare brainpower. So they have to borrow brainpower- specifically from people who are, cognitively, near-identical to themselves. The more like a god you are, the more easily that god can borrow your brainpower and instantiate themselves on your hardware. Casting divine magic, in this setting, is literally becoming your god for a little while in order to do something your god wants done. That's what it takes to be a cleric!
Since you can't cast divine magic without being totally in sync with your god, you can't be a power-hungry selfish bastard and also be a cleric of Joy- because Karou isn't a power-hungry selfish bastard. He's the god of hedonic utilitarianism, and will make a good-faith effort to resolve a dispute happily every time.
(It doesn't always work, though, since Karou is not the God of Being Correct About Predicted Consequences All The Time, and clerical error is always a source of difficulty for the Ecumene.)
Tumblr media
Other Gods
The six Ecumenes are the only organized god-worshipping organizations that run governments, but there are loads of other gods- they just don't involve themselves in legislation. It's fairly common for someone to belong to a particular Ecumene just for the government, but worship one or more other gods as a matter of personal faith.
Alanala, Waveracer, for instance, is the Deity of Tides, with dominion over the surface of the waters. They're commonly worshipped by sailors, for obvious reasons- and in particular, the Lastwave clan that controls Oyashio.
Lolth is a classic- Webstretcher, Goddess of Spiders, is worshipped by the drow. She's known for dark rituals and cannibalism and other evil type things. (The drow diaspora regards these as hateful rumors, and insist that Lolth is a benevolent figure who promotes togetherness. The consensus among right and proper elves is that this is a smokescreen and that the blood libel is super true. Hrm.)
And... ?????? ? What's this symbol? It's on the bracer that's bonded to Saelhen, but it doesn't represent any god Looseleaf's ever heard of. Maybe not all the gods show themselves to the people...

Sun- Virgo
The sixth sign of the zodiac is Virgo, to be exact, and that's just how they like it: exacting. People born under their sign are constantly the butt of jokes for being critical and picky, but their attention to detail is all because they want to help others. Virgos were born to serve and doing so brings them great pleasure. Their sense of duty is all for the greater good.  Because of the Virgo's adept analysis of details, most of the people born under this sign are very neat and clean. The symbol of Virgo of is the Virgin, but this should not be taken literally. Virgos take qualities of the Virgin, as in humanity and modesty. Some may think they are repressed, but Virgos view it as a noble quality. They love to explore logical and practical ideas.  They are great in the workplace because they will notice every detail, getting projects done the first time, every time.  Mercury rules this sign, and like in Roman mythology, Mercury was not stagnant. This god was full of energy, both mentally and physically, and that is true to the Virgin as well. A Virgo's brain will be in overdrive most of the time, which is why they are so productive. As Mercury also rules communication, this sign is very good at communicating and using their mental acuity to its best.  Because of all of this brainpower, however, Virgos may over-think and be sketpical of situations.  The element of this sign is earth, so Virgos are more grounded and earthy compared to other signs. Virgos will analyze people deeply, noticing every detail about their partner. This is because Virgos can be incredibly hard on themselves - it is important that they learn to cut others more slack. There is also a childlike innocence about Virgos - no matter how wild they act, there is always a bit of old-fashioned romance within them.  They expect their mates to be clean, respectful, loyal, and intelligent.
Moon- Gemini
Most importantly, though, this sign gains emotional fulfillment when they feel intellectually stimulated. In order to stay excited, Gemini Moons tend to socialize with others, search for interesting information, and communicate their ideas. People with this placement in their charts tend to be good conversationalists. As a flighty air sign, Gemini Moons may prefer to talk about their feelings rather than actually experience them. They like to keep things on the positive side, staying versatile and adventurous in the emotional plane. With the Twins being the symbol of Gemini, Gemini Moons are also constantly looking for a partner who complements their own personality. In a relationship, Gemini Moons need someone who can intellectually stimulate them and hold an interesting conversation. They crave freedom, communication, and new ideas. Some Gemini Moons may even have a talent for numbers, speech, or writing, as language is a strong suit of theirs. Because Gemini Moons are so versatile, it may be hard for this sign to make decisions. They can be a bit scatterbrained, as they tend to process a lot of information constantly. This moon sign may also be a bit moody at times, as their adaptability manifests into easily changeable moods. They may come off as detached, for they prefer to analyze their emotions rather than truly “feel” them. Overall, this sign can be quite restless and distracted, and their love of information may make them prone to gossip.
Rising- Sagittarius
An ascending Sagittarius is haunted all his life by long roads and exotic countries, in which he dreams to visit. He wants to know everything, as well as visit all places in the world and conquer outer space. Narcissistic and impetuous man who knows how to seduce women. Witty and sociable type, which, if in love, he decides to completely "redraw" his mind. But only if the woman is ready to share with him the delights of life. A passionate and shrewd man who loves to travel and gain knowledge. He likes everything that captures the spirit, and his dullness and routine make him anxious and drive him into depression. If the partner does not tell him how to live and change to his own character, he will go with her to the edge of the earth, holding his hand tight and securely.
Lilith- Leo
When The Black Moon is placed in Leo an air or royalty will be embody the thinking. One will carry a sense of entitlement and have belief that things should be given and handed to them because of their self perceived kingly status.  The royal lifestyle will make Lilith in Leo desire all of the luxuries life has to offer. One can spend money on things that far outclass the means they can afford in their financial situation.  Much passion and courage will be shown to stand up to circumstances that work to interfere with one’s values.  The Black Moon Lilith specifically can be one to stand up and be protective of those it loves such as romantic partners, children or loyal followers. Strong responses can occur to defend these loved ones and revenge can be taken upon anyone that threatens their safety and wellness. Lilith in an astrology chart can be noted as attracting a particular person whom embodies the traits of the sign Lilith is in. This type of person whom is attracted can play a major role or even been a strong adversary within the lifetime. When Lilith is in Leo a significant person involved in life can be bright, full of life, enthusiastic and fun loving in their demeanor. They will be charismatic, magnetic, inspiring, courageous and quite dignified. The significant person can be quite loving, romantic, passionate, demonstrative and dramatic in the character.  Loyalty will be important to them and they can be quite protective too. The negative side of Leo can show in their character making them egotistical, stubborn, arrogant, bossy and very self involved. A major enemy one attracts can be strong and come from a position of high power and authority. This adversary can be very social, have the respect of many and hold power in the public spotlight. The opponent one attracts can have the support of followers because of a charismatic nature and strong leadership skills that draws people in. The Black Moon in the sign of Leo often can feel a sense of dread relating to love relationships one is involved in.  There may be a fear of losing a loved one and having a romantic relationship fall apart.  Since loyalty is very important to the sign can have a deep fear of losing any kind of loyalty.  Lilith in a horoscope holds power over things that are kept private that are not wanting to be exposed openly. Romantic relationships or sexual encounters during the life can be kept private from being known to the public.  The Black Moon in Leo may also want to keep luxurious lifestyle choices from coming out into the open.  Sex appeal will carry much pride and tie in greatly to the ego. Being found sexually attractive to a partner is very important for boasting the confidence and ego of Lilith.  Even when single Lilith in Leo can want to capture suitors through sex appeal to boost the ego. The Black Moon in this fire sign can be very expressive in dramatic ways sexually to accomplish this.  Lilith will display a very self expressive creative nature in order to capture the attention of a perspective partner in the beginning. This can manifest in such behaviors as dressing provocative, sending nudes, striping and being the initiator that comes on strong to attain the interest of someone. Even when engaged with a partner, Lilith here may dress up erotically or enjoy playfully teasing to arouse the partner.

Lost Heart: Chapter 24
A Christmas Battle
Magic can be a dangerous thing to play around with, particularly when that magic is tangled up in a curse. When Nathalie Sancoeur experiments with magic that she doesn’t fully understand, it sends her on a path to become Paris’ most dangerous supervillain and tips the balance between superheroes and supervillain.
But which way will the balance fall?
links in the reblog
Tumblr media
The text came two days after Marinette and Adrien had gone shopping for a present for his father. Thankfully Marinette was free and her parents were busy with the bustling bakery downstairs, so it was no effort at all to quickly call up Adrien to make sure that he had gotten the text, too, and then transform and start racing across Paris.
Her first stop was the Grand Paris, where Emilie was waiting anxiously near her balcony door.
"I'm more nervous than I thought I would be," she admitted with a laugh as she let both superheroes in. "I just keep remembering what it felt like to transform before, and even though I know it'll be different now, I can't help but worry. And I've never seen proper combat."
"You're more for a surprise element than for fighting," Chat Noir reminded her quickly, holding out the Peacock. "It's a good thing Ma- Jade Turtle came over yesterday to reset the bond. I know he mentioned being busier than usual recently."
Ladybug nodded as Mrs. Agreste took the Miraculous, letting out a delighted gasp as Duusu popped free. Master Fu's sudden uptick in business had been concerning in terms of making sure that their plan went off smoothly, but she couldn't bring herself to be that surprised. People were taking off work now, wanting to catch their moments of relaxation while they could. Thankfully he had left his bracelet with her for just that reason- he couldn't exactly dash (or, well, his version of a dash. A speedwalk, perhaps?) out of his shop to pass it off to her when there was a client with him. He had worked all day, then gone to the hotel to meet up with Mrs. Agreste before eating a very, very late dinner.
His commitment was truly astounding.
"All right, I'll just go ahead and transform, then," Mrs. Agreste said, her eyes on Duusu as she pinned the Miraculous to the center of her shirt. "And I know to wait until I'm needed in the fight, so I'll keep out of the way. Duusu, transform me!"
With an excited squeal, Duusu dove into the brooch. Blue light lit up the room and when it cleared, Paon stood in the middle.
She cut a striking figure. Tall and slender, the base layer of Paon's blue suit clung to her just like Ladybug's. A skirt hung around her waist in blues and greens, open and shorter in the front and long in the back with a gorgeous feathered pattern half-hidden in the folds. Blue and green spiraled through her ponytail, and a sparkly blue and green mask hid the upper half of her face. Knee-high black boots and gloves stretching to her elbows broke the silhouette up.
"Okay, I feel underdressed next to you two," Ladybug admitted with a laugh. "I think my outfit might need an upgrade."
"Ooh, like what?" Chat Noir asked, interested. He glanced up and down Ladybug's suit, trying to imagine it changing. He was coming up blank. After fighting side-by-side with his partner for so long, that was just what Ladybug's outfit was.
"Like..." Ladybug thought about it, then frowned. "I don't know. I've looked like this for so long, I can't really picture it any other way."
Paon clapped her hands together. "Oh! I have some ideas that you might be interested in trying out. I can make sketches later, and you can see if you like any of them."
Ladybug beamed at her. "I would appreciate that, thank you. But for now, I think we have several more heroes to round up. You know the plan?"
"I'll keep out of sight," Paon promised. "And Jade Turtle told me how to track you guys on my fan, so I can find where the fight is. I'll be there."
With that, the superheroes headed back out. They had done a quick Miraculous swap earlier, so Chat Noir could grab Queen Bee, who would be easy enough to find in the hotel, and Dragoness, who...
Well, he had her number, at least. Both as Chat Noir and Adrien. He would be able to track down Kagami. For her part, Ladybug would go grab Alya and Nino.
It made things a hundred times easier when they ended up being together.
"I've not heard anything about an akuma yet," Alya said dubiously as she accepted her Miraculous. Nino was looking frankly startled that they were being tapped again after the fiasco at the end of the previous fight. "Are you sure there wasn't just a false alarm on Twitter or something?"
"We have an inside source," Ladybug said shortly, stepping back to her window. They didn't have any time to waste. Chat Noir had just sent her a quick notification that Queen Bee and Dragoness were ready and were on the lookout for anything strange. As soon as the akuma showed its head, they had to strike. "The Purple Lady was headed to her lair to send out an akuma. We're going to hit before she's ready."
Nino and Alya exchanged a look, then transformed and followed Ladybug out the window. She kept low to the rooftops and out of sight, checking her yo-yo for any notifications. Within a minute, one popped up.
Akuma at the Arc de Triomphe. Purple Lady spotted.
"To the Arc," Ladybug ordered, changing her direction at once. "You two will be on the akuma."
She didn't miss the 'as always' that Rena Rouge muttered, but she decided to ignore it. Now was not the time to get into another argument with them.
...but they also weren't getting their Miraculous back after this battle was over. If the superheroes were needed again for whatever reason and they needed more than just Ladybug and Chat Noir, there were three other options to go to first. Rena Rouge was turning into too much of a wild card and Carapace would always follow her lead. It stunk- after all, Nino and Alya were good friends- but Lila had their ears, it seemed, and that made them liabilities.
People taking the initiative was good, generally. But the superheroes had to act as a team, and Ladybug and Chat Noir were meant to be the undisputed leaders in these battles.
Then the Arc appeared up ahead, and there was no more time to mull over their misbehaving superheroes. Ladybug had one second, two, three to take in the scene below- the rampaging akuma that looked like a knock-off Bubbler in the street, the Purple Lady on top of the Arc, the three other members of their team coming in from the other direction-
And then Ladybug plunged into battle.
Tumblr media
The Purple Lady was at the top of her game. Within a couple minutes, it was obvious that Dragoness and Chat Noir would have to be the ones facing off against her, with Queen Bee back on the akuma and both her and Ladybug on standby, ready to abandon the akuma and join the other two with the Purple Lady.
He had briefed Dragoness and Queen Bee on the way over. The akuma was a secondary concern; once the Purple Lady fell, the akuma would be lost and easy to take down. If Carapace and Rena Rouge could at least keep the akuma from interfering with their fight, they would be good. Ladybug and Queen Bee would not get too tangled up in the akuma battle, so they could jump over to help Chat Noir and Dragoness. Once Paon showed up- and yes, he told them about her- then Dragoness could retreat and, once they had the situation under control, go try her hand at battling the akuma.
Chat Noir couldn't help the way his lips quirked up at the memory of when he had told Dragoness that. She had groaned loudly- one on one combat was more her thing, and sword-on-sword instead of whatever... well, whatever akuma attacks were- but agreed. After all, the others would be rejoining the akuma battle shortly enough and getting it wrapped up quickly.
Hopefully.
Fighting the Purple Lady was a whole lot of trading off, darting in at her from opposite sides to keep her guessing. Chat Noir had to keep all of his focus on her, his feet moving fast as he and Dragoness parried blow after blow. The Purple Lady was getting frustrated, it was obvious. She had tried firing off a couple spells as he and Dragoness approached that Chat Noir had just barely managed to block, and she was clearly itching to try more.
But she couldn't. Not with both of her hands and all of her brainpower occupied by her fight with Chat Noir and Dragoness.
His mom had to be moving into position now, Chat Noir knew. The news about the akuma was out now, and their dots would have stopped moving across the city on her communicator. She had to be careful not to get spotted- after all, the public still thought that the Peacock Miraculous was on Hawkmoth's side, and if the Purple Lady caught any sign of her then their element of surprise would be lost- and had to find the perfect spot to hide until she spotted her opening.
They just had to hold the fight until then.
Sword clashed against baton, then against sword. Yells from the akuma fight echoed across the square. Chat Noir let Dragoness take the lead, since he had to keep track of- well, everything.
How Ladybug did this during their other akuma battles- keeping track of everything enough to figure out how to proceed while still fighting- was beyond him. If Dragoness weren't such a strong fighter, he would have to commit all of his energy and attention to the battle and he wouldn't ever get to glance around to see what else was going on. As it was, most of his attention had to stay on the Purple Lady so that she wouldn't catch him by surprise.
Fencing bouts had never been this difficult. His breath was coming heavy, his heart racing. There was absolutely no time for reactions as he countered every strike that the Purple Lady made. He could only breathe when she switched the bulk of her attention back to Dragoness, and even then it was just a short break before he had to be fully in again so that his teammate could catch a breath of her own.
Three minutes later, his baton buzzed. Chat Noir nearly missed it- he had been about to pick up the fight from Dragoness- but when he realized what it meant, he managed a competitive smile.
Paon was in position. Another buzz- a double one- would go off when she was coming up. Down on the street, Ladybug yelled something to her teammates before swinging into her own position, enough behind the Purple Lady that she wouldn't be noticed. Her yo-yo dangled just from her fingertips, ready to strike. Chat Noir chanced a proper glance in her direction and Ladybug gave him one of her determined little nods, focused and ready to work.
That expression on her face was actually pretty adorable, especially paired with the tiger ears and whisker stripes that she had adorned at some point during the fight, but Chat Noir didn't exactly have the time to appreciate that before the Purple Lady's attention was back on him. He parried and went for a blow, forcing the Purple Lady back half a pace. She recovered quickly, going for a heavy blow in his direction that he dodged. Their weapons crossed again in a quick one-two-three-four.
Bzzz. Bzzz.
Two buzzes. Paon was moving up. Chat Noir forced himself to split his attention, waiting for exactly the right moment to move back. A flash of blue in the corner of Chat Noir's eye caught his attention and he grinned, gesturing to Dragoness to flip back and bouncing back several paces himself to get out of the Purple Lady's reach. She stepped forward, as if to follow him, when she noticed Paon, now fully on the Arc and straightened to her full, commanding height.
The Purple Lady froze, eyes wide and disbelieving. Chat Noir nodded to Ladybug, but his partner was already in motion, her yo-yo lashing out and wrapping around the Purple Lady, pinning her arms to her sides. The Purple Lady shrieked as she realized that she had been caught, thrashing to try to get free, but Paon and Chat Noir didn't give her a chance. In unison, the mother-son duo struck, knocking the Purple Lady to the ground and sending her sword clattering to the side. Without any hesitation, Chat Noir reached over and grabbed her Miraculous. The transformation released in a second, an exhausted Nooroo coming free and bowing to the pair of them before returning to his Miraculous, leaving Nathalie furiously struggling on the rooftop.
He barely recognized her. The muted warmth in her eyes was gone, replaced by an icy coldness. Or, rather, an icy fury.
"Queen Bee!" Ladybug called, her voice carrying easily above the sounds of the still-raging akuma battle. Glancing over, Chat Noir saw that Dragoness had already joined the battle on the ground. "We need your Sting!"
Queen Bee appeared in a blur of yellow, dashing towards them. She pulled out her trompo, activating it in a flash before stabbing Nathalie's side. She seized up in a heartbeat, and Ladybug took the opportunity to recall her yo-yo, drop off of the roof, and dash over to the police barricade that was starting to form around the outside of the area. She was back thirty seconds later with two pairs of handcuffs. One pair got snapped around Nathalie's wrists, and the other was hung from Ladybug's waist, ready for when Mr. Agreste appeared.
And just like that, it was over.
Chat Noir swallowed hard, the adrenaline surging through him congealing in a lump in his throat. That made it more real. His father would be going to jail tonight and likely would not be coming out for a long, long time. Even if he had gotten used to the idea- he had certainly had a decent amount of time for it to sink in, and recent days aside, his father hadn't acted very fatherly for a very, very long time- seeing his father behind bars still wasn't something he felt particularly prepared for.
He didn't know if it was really something anyone could have felt prepared for.
"I'll sit with her," Paon promised, settling next to Nathalie. "Right now, I think there's an akuma still for you guys."
Chat Noir nodded, following Ladybug down to the ground. Carapace and Rena Rouge looked frankly baffled when they appeared, glancing up to where the Purple Lady had been, but they didn't question it, particularly when Ladybug's yo-yo snagged the final akuma and sent them flying straight into a lamppost.
With its power leaching fast, the akuma wasn't hard to defeat. Ladybug cast one final Miraculous Cure, the magical ladybugs sparkling just a bit brighter than normal as they put everything back to normal.
Or maybe that was just his imagination.
"It's over," Ladybug sighed, her entire body relaxing as the last of her Cure faded away. "It's really, actually over. That's just..."
"We still have to give a police report and get the Miraculous back," Chat Noir reminded her, wrapping an arm around Ladybug's waist to keep her upright. He paused when beeping reached his ears. "...okay, how many people used their powers? Queen Bee, obviously, but...?"
"Both Carapace and I did, because all of a sudden there were only two of us fighting the akuma," Rena Rouge piped up, appearing at his side with one hand on her hip and an irritated look on her face. "Well, three at first, but Queenie didn't exactly have her head in the game."
Chat Noir picked up the irritation in Ladybug's expression and hurried to answer before she could. "That was because she had been told to keep an eye out for a signal to come help us with the Purple Lady. She was just following instructions-" he couldn't resist the small dig, he really couldn't- "and it all turned out fine in the end, didn't it? The akuma was defeated, the Purple Lady has been contained and had her Miraculous taken away, and Hawkmoth will be coming to turn himself in soon."
The speed with which Rena and Carapace's expressions changed from annoyed to startled and shocked was almost comical.
"But if you've used your powers, you'll be detransforming soon," Ladybug chimed in. "So if we could head over to that alley over there-"
Rena Rouge nodded at once, snagging Carapace's wrist and practically dragging him off in the direction that Ladybug had indicated. Chat Noir couldn't help but frown in confusion- wouldn't they want to be present when they turned the former Purple Lady over to the police?- before he realized what must be happening. Rena Rouge was Alya, who was the moderator of the Ladyblog. She had just been told that the Purple Lady and Hawkmoth were de-masked and were going to be turned into the police. Of course she wanted to be detransformed and streaming the whole thing live.
"I can stick around," Queen Bee spoke up. "I have snacks for Pollen with me, in case the Sting wears off. Or if we have to stick around after the Purple Lady and Hawkmoth get turned over to the police. And it's not as though everyone doesn't already know who I am."
Chat Noir grinned. "Good. And Dragoness?"
Dragoness popped open the hilt of her sword to check the time on her communicator. "I have the time to spare, as long as we don't end up in a super-long press conference. And since it's just the once..."
It didn't take Ladybug long to return, tucking the extra Miraculous back in her safe box on her way. It went back into her yo-yo- and the look on Dragoness' face when Ladybug tucked the large box into the small yo-yo was absolutely hilarious- and then the yo-yo clicked shut with finality.
"Time to get Nathalie down!" Ladybug called, already heading for the Arc de Triomphe. "And then Mr. Agreste is going to be here in a couple minutes. He's having his driver bring him over."
Dragoness sucked in a startled breath, and Chat Noir suddenly remembered that while Queen Bee knew everything (or near enough, at least), Dragoness hadn't been told about the identities of the supervillains. Of course it would come as a shock to her. Not as much of a shock as it had been to him when they first found everything out, of course, but still a shock.
Before Ladybug could reach up, Paon appeared at the top of the Arc with the still-frozen Nathalie in her arms. She leapt down easily, landing lightly and straightening before making a beeline for the heroes.
"I can feel her trying to twitch," Paon reported. "I wouldn't be surprised if she needs to be kept sedated until we can undo the effects of the curse on her, just so she doesn't end up injuring herself. She would try to fight too much."
Chat Noir nodded. That was a good thought. There was probably something in the grimoire that would help.
Besides, Master Fu couldn't just quit brewing potions cold turkey, surely. He would miss it too much, after spending almost all of his free time whipping up potion after potion for them.
"And I just sent a text to the police, so they won't all clear away," Ladybug added, giving her yo-yo one final tap before closing it completely for the second time. "Hopefully they'll keep two cars for us."
Chat Noir nodded. If Nathalie hadn't already figured out what had happened, she would work it out soon. And it would not be pretty.
"It looks like most of the police cars are over on that street," Dragoness said, pointing. "And some are starting to clear out. Maybe we should go over there right away, just in case they don't get the text."
Paon headed that way at once, with Chat Noir following right behind her. It took him a minute to realize that Ladybug wasn't following. When he glanced around, he saw her standing next to the Gorilla's car, exchanging a few words with Mr. Agreste before putting him in handcuffs. The two of them headed after the rest of the group, walking quickly to catch up.
Or, well, Ladybug was walking quickly. Since he was so much taller, Mr. Agreste was just able to keep up without hardly trying at all.
That was actually annoying.
"Chat Noir," one of the police officers greeted him, and Chat Noir had to pull his attention away from his father and Ladybug to focus. "Can I ask- was this the Purple Lady?"
"M. Sancoeur was the Purple Lady," Chat Noir confirmed. "She's not in her right mind at the moment- she was using the Peacock Miraculous, which had a curse on it until we recovered the Miraculous and removed the curse. The curse pretty much took away a bit of her humanity every time she transformed into Mayura."
The policeman nodded, looking a bit puzzled. "Okay, uh- we're going to need statements as soon as possible. And Hawkmoth...?"
"Was Gabriel Agreste. Several weeks ago, we confronted him and he gave in, telling us his identity and what was going on. He's been working with us ever since, giving us the Peacock Miraculous once M. Sancoeur took his and surrendering the books and scrolls that he had." Chat Noir took a step back to gesture at the rapidly-approaching Mr. Agreste and Ladybug. "Today, he warned us when Nathalie headed up so that we could strike as soon as the akuma appeared. He agreed when we first confronted him to turn himself in once everything ended."
"Cooperation always is a good thing," the police officer agreed. "That should help him, but of course it depends on the full story. Which- well, I assume that there's more?"
Chat Noir nodded. "There is. We'll come in right away after Ladybug and I recharge."
The officer nodded, opening the car door so that Paon could set Nathalie inside. "Okay. We'll take both of them in. And, uh- was the rest of your team involved in discovering their identities?"
Dragoness shook her head right away. Queen Bee was slower, and Paon looked to Chat Noir for guidance.
"Most of the rest of our team was just involved in the akuma battles," Chat Noir said immediately. "We can fill you in on the roles that everyone played at the station, and you can decide after that if anyone else should come in and testify."
"Very well."
Mr. Agreste arrived then, and a second police officer guided him to a second car. He went in without a fuss, settling in and inclining his head to the superheroes. His gaze turned to Paon, and a small, sad smile played across his lips before he nodded to her, too.
Chat Noir didn't look to see if she had returned the gesture.
It didn't take long to get the cars ready to go. Before they did, the first officer returned to Ladybug and Chat Noir.
"Thank you for your service to the city," he told them. "With Hawkmoth and the Purple Lady's reign gone, Paris can resume its normal life again, just in time for Christmas. We'll prepare a statement at once, and perhaps after your visit to the police station for statements you can join the Mayor for an announcement to Paris?"
"That sounds great," Ladybug said, speaking up from Chat Noir's side. Her hand sneaked around his waist, resting reassuringly on his opposite hip. "We can't wait to tell Paris. It has been a long time coming."
Tumblr media
It didn't take long to get the Dragon Miraculous back, thank Kagami, and let her go on her way. Paon kept her Miraculous- they knew where to find her, after all, and she had been a superhero all on her own before they even reached the scene- and she went back to the hotel while Ladybug and Chat Noir headed for the police station. They stopped and recharged on the way, and Marinette made sure to check that Adrien was holding up okay. Giving statements would be hard on him, after all, having to relive the discovery and learning about Mrs. Agreste's condition.
Thankfully, he was holding up all right. Having his mom recovered and previously out with them no doubt helped.
Giving statements wasn't that bad. She and Chat Noir had to give them separately, of course, so that they wouldn't influence each other's statements, but it wasn't hard to remember everything once she made sure to take her time. The police recorded everything, taking notes as well as taking video of her statement. They had a few questions to clarify certain points, then they were free to go. The police wanted Chloe and Mrs. Agreste to come in as well, along with Jade Turtle, but those could wait until after the holidays. Ladybug had to show the police the Butterfly Miraculous, too, but they didn't even try to request that she leave it with them.
And then it was time for the big announcement. They did tell the eager reporters who Hawkmoth and the Purple Lady had been- there would be no point in not saying that, because the Ladyblog already had video of Nathalie and Mr. Agreste being put in the police cars by the superheroes- and make sure that they added in the fact that Nathalie had started helping Hawkmoth all on her own but had been cursed into her current condition and that Mr. Agreste had switched sides as much as he could towards the end. No one else had willingly worked with them, including the rest of the household staff and Mr. Agreste's son. Mrs. Agreste had been cursed into a coma after using the Peacock to do good, and she had been woken up recently.
There had been a lot of questions, of course, and a lot of gasping at the reveal of who Hawkmoth had been. But eventually the reporters settled down, after being reminded by both the superheroes and the mayor that the investigation was technically still ongoing and therefore they could only say so much.
"We want to thank Paris for cooperating during akuma attacks," Ladybug finished, beaming out at the crowds. "And for being patient with us as we worked to defeat Hawkmoth and the Purple Lady and then prepare for the final confrontation. We're very, very pleased that everything got wrapped up before Christmas."
"It's our present to you," Chat Noir agreed, ducking his head in so that he could speak into her microphone as well. "We'll be going into the new year supervillain-free. Happy holidays, Paris!"

30 Days of Autism Acceptance: Days 17-26
This is a list of questions by @autie-jake (full list here), where you’re supposed to answer one per day for every day of April. I keep forgetting to do these daily, so here’s all the days since my last post. My last post is here.
April 17: Have you experienced ableism before? If so, how did it feel and how did you handle it?
Yes! Actually, it made my childhood so bad that my brain decided to forget it. So, clearly nothing to write about here.
April 18: Discuss how you felt when you felt when you first learnt you were autistic vs how you feel now.
I’m not good at the whole “remembering how I feel” thing. My memories of my feelings are all semantic memory. I know as a 6th grader I thought autism was super cool and I read a whole autobiography of an autistic savant because I wanted to find out more about it (Born on a Blue Day by Daniel Tammett). After a lot of intense research, I decided that I couldn’t conclusively self-diagnose, and regretfully slinked away back into not understanding or advocating for my needs. Sometime later, an actually autistic coworker of mine looked at me for like five (5) minutes, and was like, “Hey, have you been diagnosed with autism yet?” I’ve since adopted her as my second mom, for that and other reasons. I’ve had very few moments in my life when I was sad to have an autistic trait, and I got over it fairly quickly.
April 19: Talk about scripting. Is scripting something that you normally do? What kind of situations do you have a script for? Does it help you?
People don’t like my apologies, so I have a couple apology scripts saved. Otherwise I tend to just wing it and fail spectacularly. The apology scripts tend to sound… scripted, but they’re better than just doing it myself, I think.
April 20: Discuss stimming. In what ways do you stim? What does stimming mean to you? What do individual stims that you do mean? Do you have any stim toys? What would you like people to know about stimming?
Pressure stims are the most important stims for me. I’m more likely to be squeezing a part of my body than not. If nothing else, I can cross my legs tight and squeeze them together. This doesn’t have any specific function; it’s just something I do that makes me feel better. When I’m stressed, I do it more.
I also do motion stims. Often my way of locomotion is more like dancing. This is a little strange, because I don’t otherwise dance. I always feel happy, relaxed, and in control when I do that. When I’m sad or tired, my feet are too heavy for it. I am also very animate with my hands when I talk. When I taught English in Hungary for the first time, the first question I was asked whether all Americans talk with their hands as much as I do. (I don’t think they do. I have it on good authority from at least one American I trust utterly that the way I use my hands is rather unique.)
I have two improvised stim toys for pressure stimming (a scarf for wrapping very tight around limbs, and a butterknife for applying waves of uniform pressure). I also recently found one of those head scratchy thingies, and now I use it every five minutes or so. It’s a little inconvenient with headphones on, but I’m rather creative with it, anyway. I don’t actually like light touch or tickles, but generally the head scratchy thingy can be given enough pressure to provide a substantial stimulus.
April 21: Give a shoutout to some of your favorite autism blogs/autistic bloggers
UM. HMM. Like 10-50% of the people I follow are autistic, but hell if I can remember any of their handles.
I reblog from @nonbinary-hawke and their native issues-related sideblog @finding-my-culture like multiple times a day but I’m pretty sure they kinda just tolerate me? I’m mostly cut off from the actual native community I’m supposed to be part of (the Siberian one), so I try to follow American native issues with kind of a “not my lane but I’m still sympathetic” vibe, and their blogs are most of my way of keeping in touch. But we have a lot of other random things in common too; similar age, similar neurotype, similar fandoms, etc. So I’m pretty much always gonna have a platonic tumblr crush on them, given that and how much I respect their principles.
@autisticadvocacy is ASAN’s official blog, I think, and it’s always posting useful and relevant articles.
@autisticjoy and @autismisaokay are two blogs I’ve followed for most of my time on tumblr. I get the majority of my autism-related content from them.
@autistic-noodle is the first autism-related blog I ever followed! I highly recommend her; if I haven’t unfollowed her after all this time, then that means that they’ve never reblogged anything that’s triggered me, which is pretty darn impressive.
@bogleech is my favorite webcomic artist, which is a vaunted honor coming from someone with ¾ of a special interest in webcomics. I’m not actually sure if he’s autistic, but he posts enough autism-related content to justify being on this list one way or another.
I’ve definitely learned at least one useful thing from @autisticlifehack. What was it? Who knows?
@autistic-flirting is very cute, if not very active.
Shout out to @tikibats and @dreamfriend, who I actually know IRL.
April 22: What are some social rules that do not make sense to you/that you don't understand?
I’m, uh. Actually not sure? I can usually explain stuff if I think hard enough. There’s some stuff I’ve never bothered to figure out, but none of it’s so pressing that I can actually remember it.
Oh! Actually! One night during freshman year of college, I went to the computer lab to do my homework in a not-at-all-revealing bathrobe. I’ve received several explanations on why this was wrong, but I don’t remember any of them.
April 23: Do you have any internal rules? What are they?
LOTS, wow. If I didn’t have them, I wouldn’t have any shred of consistency whatsoever. I am nothing but these rules. Some of them feel more like strong opinions that can be taken or left, like the ones pertaining to writing style, but even those I follow 99% of the time. They range from really foundational moral ones like, “Everything with a mind intrinsically deserves your friendship and understanding,” and, “Every neurotype deserves to exist,” to, “Always wrap code to 80 columns (unless it’s highly nested like Lisp, in which case consider 100 columns),” and, “When mixing fruit flavor tea, always pour the syrup before the tea.” It’s quite the hodgepodge.
April 24: Talk about community. What does the autistic community mean to you? Is it important? How does it feel?
I haven’t had much of a chance to actually participate in any autistic community yet. I don’t even really participate in the tumblr autistic community. It’s just sorta me, my second mom, and a couple random people I get to see occasionally. (Also, my dad, but we don’t talk about my dad.) Most of my friends are neurodivergent in some way, though, so I’m happy with the people I have. (Not that I don’t enjoy hanging around neurotypical people, too. But it feels good to not have to work to make yourself be understood.)
April 25: Do you know any other autistic people off the internet? Is anyone else in your family autistic or are you the only one? Do you wish you knew more?
See yesterday’s answer! I wouldn’t do this if I were doing these day by day, but I’m totally justified here, because it’s literally the previous paragraph.
April 26: In what ways can allistic people better accommodate you and other autistic people? What would you consider helpful?
It’s a broad question. My mom has been getting better at not punishing me for my autistic traits, but the other day she still antagonized me for stimming at the dinner table. (I’m 22. Nearly 23.) So it’d be great if she didn’t do things like that. Not even gonna talk about what my dad could do better. (The ways he does accomodate me seem unintentional.)
Outside of that, I appreciate it when people give me very clearly-worded instructions, broken down into small steps, with every possible detail specified. I appreciate it even more when those instructions are in written form, because I can only remember two or three of those when they’re spoken aloud.
I appreciate it when food places with complex menus have the option to just sit down with the menu, without a time limit, and make up your order. Sandwich and wrap places, like Subway, make me very uncomfortable for reason; Subway has an extremely combinatorically complex menu, and you’re expected to make up your order while they’re making the sandwich. I’d like to spend some time staring at a sheet with each sandwich ingredient listed and explained, and the ways they can be combined, first.
The current switch to online classes has been great for my ability to understand lectures, and terrible for my ability to do classwork and homework. Hearing the lecture through headphones circumvents most of my auditory processing issues, and seeing the lecture slides clearly circumvents most of my attention issues. But when it comes to doing classwork and homework, executive dysfunction rules me. I do wish my executive dysfunction were better accomodated for even in the case of normal classes (and probably careers), but it’s hard to guess what form that would take. I’ve run out of brainpower for good ideas.
For the rest of the month I will do these questions daily, one at a time. Hopefully.

How to Generate Business Ideas Through The Brainstorming Technique
Tumblr media
Generating promising business ideas isn't easy, especially if you're alone and you do not know how to start doing it. However, through brainstorming, you can come up with great ideas that could lead you to begin a terrific business. Brainstorming is just a method of producing a group of individuals to consider something the exact same time, usually with a goal of solving a problem or producing good thoughts.
If you're really stuck and you can't generate decent business ideas independently, you can engage your colleagues to encourage you. Do not forget that the combined brainpower of a bunch of individuals, coming together to deliberate on a specific problem, can spark off ideas and solutions better than you working independently. I'd so like to share with you some of the suggestions on ways to use brainstorming to create good business ideas.
1. The first issue would be to scan the environment to identify the issues that will need to be solved along with the demands that people have. As you're the one spearheading the whole exercise and the principal beneficiary, you should have the ability to pose the problem to the group.
2. Secondly, identify people which are going to be a part of the brainstorming group. The way to identify them all depends on you and the people you surround yourself. The identification method is followed by an invitation for them to take part in the exercise. You may engage your friends; state on Facebook, to take part in brainstorming. You can even carry out online surveys.
3. Get as many ideas as the group could create. The more ideas generated the better for you. No thoughts should be blocked. All ideas should be permitted whether good or bad, whether wise or foolish. All members must be left free to develop ideas which are as funny or as absurd as you can. Bear in mind that all ideas are great because from the poor or silly ideas, good ones can be found. In any case, the term"GOOD" makes sense since there's also"BAD".
4. Respect all thoughts from the folks in the group. By regard, I mean you need to respect them as precious and you should therefore avoid criticizing them or assessing them. It can spoil the entire process and people become uncomfortable distributing openly what they have in their thoughts. In the brainstorming stage, all ideas are equally valid. It is therefore a good practice to keep enjoying each and every member of this group that generates a notion.
5. Do not repeat ideas previously mentioned. While I say this, I don't mean that if one repeats an already mentioned thought, you stop them. It will sound as if you are just too much restrictive. And that doesn't bring out the expected benefits. What you need to do, when somebody repeats an idea, would be to use the identical notion to jump into other new ideas. You use it as the foundation for to other new ideas.
6. Clarity is important in creating business ideas. Ideas shouldn't be complex and detailed. Individuals shouldn't inform winding stories that end up making people confused and eliminate time. Members need to be properly guided to precisely and concisely bring out their thoughts.
7. Avoid being judgmental. When you do that, it will obviously have a negative effect, especially on shy individuals or on those that are not knowledgeable about the thought of letting their thoughts flow and expressing them openly. You'll be spoiling the entire procedure.
Finally, I want to remind you that in the event you've been finding it hard to generate ideas to begin a small home business, consider applying this technique of brainstorming. It can work wonders for you. Don't suffer alone when you're surrounded with a number of resourceful people and when you can also get them over the internet. Wish you good luck!
Good Business Ideas For The Home Business Entrepreneur
The notion of creating an income from home is very attractive, especially when you've got the drive and ambition to start your own business. However small or large your entrepreneurial dreams, there are loads of great business ideas to be explored.
Forget the"Get Rich Quick" schemes or the promises of steady income for very little time commitment and"all you need to do" is invest in an upfront program (if something appears to be too good to be true, it likely is), and concentrate on making your own business doing something you love. When there are great business ideas which have made money for some you want to discover a business that excites and energises you. With the proper motivation and a solid business idea you will have the tools for success, and the ability to continue with your business over the long run.
Superior business ideas for home business entrepreneurs fall into three broad classes:
1. Virtual Services
With the gigantic growth in outsourcing of certain tasks or tasks, there are lots of opportunities to provide your services virtually. This means that you can work at home and provide services like admin, writing, marketing, design, information technology or social media to businesses. Either on a project basis or as their digital PA (personal assistant), marketing officer or social networking expert.
As a digital PA you'll handle all of the tasks a PA would, logging costs into a spreadsheet, booking trips, organising calendars, booking training, preparing materials for presentations and events, but based at your home.
With systems and tools like google Docs, Dropbox and other online sharing programs, it is easy to share information and supply spreadsheets, documents and reports remotely to your customers.
As a freelance writer you may offer to write reports, articles, edit articles, post blog comments, manage forum marketing, provide blogging, tweeting or HubPages content, the choices are limitless.
In case you have knowledge of SEO (search engine optimization ) you can offer a service building traffic to your customers' sites and blogs.
Locate clients by promoting your services on a Facebook fan page and by contributing to relevant discussions on Facebook, forums and blogs. Or you can discover freelance work through websites like Elance, Guru or PeoplePerHour.
2. Local Services
Use your skills and expertise to provide services to local businesses. In case you have even the most elementary marketing, online or social networking skills you can offer to be their marketing or social networking expert. Charge on a per job, hourly or monthly retainer speed, depending upon your regional market and the experience you're offering.
Many regional businesses are great at what they do but struggle to find new customers and market their business effectively online. Stop in and talk to some regional businesses and show them the way to help them get more customers, by enhancing their online marketing or social websites.
A good suggestion is to get the regional newspapers, church, school and parish newsletters and determine which firms are advertising. Contact them and talk to them about ways to help them get more business, or spend less.
3. Online Business
Online businesses are flourishing as demonstrated by the explosion in the numbers of individuals online and using Facebook. Home business entrepreneurs are discovering opportunities online like never before. Begin with a hobby, skill or something you feel passionate about and look at ways to generate income from it.
Superior business ideas include becoming an infopreneur. Create information products to discuss your ideas and experiences with others to help them resolve a problem, or fulfill a need. This can be by means of a blog, forum or community site, membership website, ebooks, reports, newsletters or online training.
Information can be given in downloadable formats so clients receive the information they want straight away, and you make money each time your merchandise is downloaded.
An information business isn't hard to set up, low risk and you can test your ideas on a small scale prior to producing more comprehensive products. Promote affiliate products to check your market or make money selling goods on eBay or Amazon.
If you are selling physical products that you may use drop-shipping to automate the fulfilment and shipping of your goods so you don't need to take care of products. The drop-ship company will handle the invoicing, payment and shipping of the goods. All you do is promote the product to the client.
The aim with an online business is to automate as much of it as possible, so you set up the systems and leave them to operate. That way you will have a truly automated business which makes money even while you are sleeping or away on vacation.
I'm a huge fan of small niche websites which you set up and forget. They will not make you rich but you can create as many little niche sites as you like and multiply your income. A niche site will concentrate on solving a single problem for a particular market, such as weight loss, caring for bearded dragons or betta fish, or eliminating acne.
Superior business ideas are all around. Start looking at the possibilities everywhere you go. See what the hot topics are in magazines and newspapers, listen to what people are talking about (or whining they are missing) and begin with your own home business now.

Worldbuilding June 2019 Episode 30: Evolution
The original #30 was boring!  (It’s Earth. It has Earth weather. Next.)  So I made my own special finale!
30. Why did dromans evolve sapience?
Evolution is not a road towards increasing complexity or quality of an organism.  Intelligence is an incredibly costly trait.  While generally useful for survival, it is not always worth the high investment, and plenty of animals get along just fine without it.
So why did dromans evolve sapience anyway?  No other species in our world can measure up to humans (even though people vastly undercredit how clever animals can be). Their lineage was pretty adaptable and resourceful and didn’t really need more intelligence to buff their already pretty good survival rate.
The answer lies in their social interactions.
Dromans are hypersocial.  Most intelligent animals are, actually (octopi being the weird outlier.)  It takes a lot of brainpower to keep track of a large number of different and unique relationships.  And a lot of birds are capable of great feats of artistic skill, from songs to dancing to nest building.  But consider what would happen if a species wound up fixating not just on displays, but rather on displaying in as many new, unique, and different ways as possible.
Suddenly, it’s not the behavior behind a specific display getting reinforced into instinct.  It’s the idea behind it.  The ability to come up with new, interesting, exciting things to catch as many eyes as possible because the fact that it’s new and different is exactly what makes it appealing.  Imagine if all of that got linked to reproductive success?  What does that look like?  That’s right:
A feedback loop of runaway sexual selection.
Early dromanids started balancing large numbers of unique interactions with flock mates.  Their communications became more complex to communicate more complicated ideas.  At some point, more and more elaborate displays of creativity and skill became a sign of social status, and being able to successfully maintain large numbers of unique interactions with other dromanids itself became something to look for in a mate.  (Having lots of friends was sexy! :V) Not to mention having the time to devote to all this frivolous nonsense, which shows that an individual is already doing just fine at the whole getting food thing.  And having a huge support network also showcases the fact that any potential offspring will be well cared-for.  A win-win!
It’s only going to keep compounding itself from there.  More curiosity to invent new ways to show off.  More language to communicate complex ideas.  More brainpower to keep track of all this.  All of these things are going to get selected for in the population, and they’re only going to intensify as the generations go by.  Until finally you’re left with a species whose sole instincts are curiosity and creativity.  Investigating, exploring, learning.  And then you get over the massive evolutionary hill that is investing all that energy towards brainpower, and get to reap the massive survival rewards that are being able to use cleverness to react to whatever nature throws at you (which of course overlaps with humans).

sorry if this is a bit of a weird question but do you have any tips for someone who wants to get into taz? i watch A LOT of live dnd shows but no podcasts and i have absolutely no idea about what’s going on with the arcs and such agsgsg
So, I just want you to know, I’d written out a bunch more stuff before my tumblr app crashed on me and I lost everything, so I’ll keep it a little simpler this time. Also, it’s like 1 in the morning for me, so I’m super ramble-y and I’m so sorry.
The Adventure Zone, a DnD podcast made by the McElroy Family, stars
Justin (the oldest brother) as the Elf Wizard, Taako
Travis (the middlest brother) as the Human Fighter, Magnus Burnsides
Clint (the dad) as the Dwarf Cleric, Merle Highchuch
Griffin (the babiest brother) as the DM
The first arc, Here There Be Gerblins, is the place to start (the first episode is A LOT of character introduction and stats and stuff, so some people choose to listen to the Super Cut, Episode 1.5, instead, which keeps the most important details and cuts out some of the more technical stuff). It starts out a little rough, and some character traits are changed as the podcast moves on, but it picks up very quickly.
I like to listen on the Overcast app, where I’ll sort the episodes by date released, download an entire arc to my phone, and then listen while I’m doing something that doesn’t take a lot of brainpower, like washing dishes (though that might be my ADHD talking). There’s only one or two live shows in the main storyline, so you can listen to them when they come up, because they’re more like bonus side stories than pet of the main plot, or you can listen to them after. (Also, the guys from The Flophouse do an episode or two that even I still haven’t listened to, so they’re okay to skip if you want to).
Depending on your familiarity to the brothers, you’ll either already be able to tell all their voices apart, or confuse the heck out of Travis and Justin. Don’t worry if this is the case, by the third arc (Petals to the Metal) you’ll probably have it down. The TAZscripts help a lot with this too, if you want to check that out.
Speaking of arcs, there are episodes in between them, called Lunar Interludes (though the first one is a three episode mini-arc called Moonlighting). These episodes are for leveling up, getting new equipment, and general maintainence.
ALSO, after their first 69 nice episode campaign, called The Balance Arc, they have a some smaller campaigns (Clint’s superhero-themed game, Travis’ Old West inspired game) and the second season, The Amnesty Arc (which started out as one of the smaller arcs, like Clint’s and Travis’, but with Griffin as the GM). It’s a Monster of the Week game, so it isn’t quite DnD, it uses the Fate System, but it’s got cryptids in West Virginia and it’s very character driven. Apparently a lot of listeners dropped TAZ after Balance, and I think they’re really missing out, but it’s all a matter of personal preference.
Lastly, I’m sorry this is all over the place and probably doesn’t even give proper answers, so if you have any other questions (or want me to make any sort of sense), don’t hesitate to send me an ask or a message or whatever! In fact, the entire TAZ community is really kind and sweet and wonderful, that you could probably go and ask anyone and they’d be happy to help!

5 Sneaky Ways to Burn Calories at Work
Tumblr media
You may think the 30 minutes you spend every other day in the gym is enough to keep you trim and healthy, but it’s not. If you want overall good health, you need to eat well and find windows of exercising opportunity every day—not just during your scheduled workouts. How can you squeeze in a little exercise when most of your hours are spent sitting at a desk, meeting in the conference room, and preparing for big presentations? Read on to find out when you can squeeze in exercise and how to do it.
1. On the Way to Work. To start your day with a smidgen of calorie-burning exercise, you may need to wake up a few minutes earlier than usual. Not to get in a workout before tossing on your power suit, but rather so you’ll have time to torch a few calories on the way to work. To shed some calories before clocking in, you have a number of options depending on your situation. You can bike or walk to work, perform seated calf raises on the bus or train, or park your car at the far end of the parking lot so you get to walk farther to reach your office. And of course, once you get to your building, take the stairs.
2. When Doing Mindless Tasks. Admit it: everything you do at work doesn’t require an amazing amount of brainpower. Take advantage of the easy tasks by multitasking with some exercise. The easiest option is to flex and squeeze your body. From your glutes and your abs to your pecs and thighs, you can get rid of a few calories by simply flexing them as you work. As you grow accustomed to the flexing, you may find it to be a great way to work your way through a long, difficult meeting.
3. Every Time You Finish a Task. When you first get to work, make a to-do list. This will help keep you on track and will also set you up for exercise rewards. Each time you cross a task off your list, give yourself an exercise reward. This could be walking a couple laps around the office, standing up and doing a couple quick stretches, or closing your office door and knocking out a dozen push-ups. Know what your reward of the day will be and go for it.
4. When You Need to Communicate. Helpful as email may be, there is a way to communicate with your colleagues that actually keeps your body moving. That way? Getting out of your seat and walking to your coworker’s office to talk things through. Have to make a few phone calls? Stand up as you talk or better yet, pace back and forth during the conversation.
5. At the Top of the Hour. A great way to sneak a little calorie burning into your routine is to get up every hour. And your exercising doesn’t need to be super intense. All you need to do is stand up. Do this for five minutes, eight times a day, and you will drop 100 calories a day.
That’s right—all you have to do to stand up for your health is stand up!
All of these bonus calorie burning tips are great – when done in conjunction with a consistent, challenging exercise program. If you aren’t yet one of my valued clients then now is the time to join in – call or email today to get started!
