Her hands travelled over your arms, dragging you closer to her until you were sitting on her lap. "Call me by your name and I'll call you by mine" her lips pressed on your neck, leaving open mouth kisses all over it, until she got to your lips.
At one point, you could feel your whole neck and jawline fully covered with her saliva, and even though you've tasted her already, it wasn't enough. You craved her and craved for more of her.
Your hands moved to the back of her neck, scratching it with your nails, tenderly. Abby groaned on your skin, her nose vibrated on your clavicle as she slowly took note of your sent. It was soft, the way you pronounced your own name, and the way she pronounced hers.
It was slow, how she got rid of your shirt. Her hands introduced on the inside first, feeling every inch of your stomach, until she couldn't wait anymore so she took her away from your body. Abby's first institc was to get a taste of your chest, so without thought she pressed her lips on them, separately. Her hands moved to your back, getting rid of your bra almost as if she was starving, as if she needed to get a proper taste. You could only silence your moans, saying her name and your name repeatedly. Anything to please her.
"Feel so good angel" she mumbled in between kisses, from your breasts to down your stomach. You stood on your knees for her, gripping at her braid to lead her to where you wanted her, tugging at it whenever she got too much into it. She'd moan, as a way to thank you for even letting her see you like this, for letting her feel you.
You took her blouse off too, unconsciously smiling at the sight of her bare chest, something you somehow missed before. Abby rolled you on your back, making sure it was fully pressed against the matress and making sure you would stay still for her.
Her head dropped into the crook of your neck, running her nose along your jaw. Her hands played with the hem of your shorts, taking them off shortly after. She made sure to undress herself too, not feeling like waiting a second more to have you and let you have her.
"Please” that gentle plead made any racional thoughts disappear. “I want this, please”. her hands were roaming everywhere on your body, opening your legs nice and wide for her. “I know baby, I know”.
Her tongue ran over your nipples, licking and sucking both equally desperately. Once again, she took a taste of your lower body, taking her time to kiss over your ribs, stomach, all of you, she wanted to remember all of you.
You bucked into her, trying to get some friction. It elicited a tender laugh from her. Abby's nose trailed a torturous path along your inner thighs, leaving wet kisses over each of them.
Her fingers danced on the sides of your cunt, moving around your inner thighs as well, until she finally took you inside of her mouth, first kissing on top of your clit, then licking over your arousal, collecting your slit. Her tongue plumped in and out of you. You could feel your chest erratic, almost painful even.
Silently you contained your moans, just tugging at her braid to push her head even closer to your cunt. It was pathetic, your face already sweaty, both of you letting out muffled moans and quiet whimpers sometimes accompanied by your own names. You'd never imagined it'll end this way.
Her own cunt was completely wet, thighs drenched by how you made her feel, by your taste and your touch, by your voice and those pretty obscene sounds she could only hear.
She kept on plumping her tongue in and out of you, sucking at your clit and making sure to taste you and not waist any of what you were giving her. Abby moved one of her thumbs outside your arousal, teasing it for a while before giving you the pleasure of it.
It was slow and gentle, gathering your slick. She curled both her index and middle finger inside you, making pressure above your lower stomach at each thrust. She matched her own speed, until the way you clenched around her and the way you tried so hard to close your legs made her get the clue.
Nor you or her could have the privilege of being louder, but somehow you both knew each other enough to get the message without hearing a word. Like it was meant to be.
She kept on moving until you were absolutely finished, laying her head above your stomach with doe-ish eyes fully fixated to your own.
"Come here" you whispered, still breathing heavily. Abby obeyed, crawling on top of you once more.
She looked completely gorgeous with some loosened strands of her hair slicked to her forehead. Her lips completely wet and her eyes shinning as you've never seem them before. Her view was equally satisfying. More than enough.
"What do you want?" You murmured, moving your hands to the back of her head, gently passing your fingers over her braid. Abby laughed quietly "you, that's enough" you replied with a smile, taking her hairband off and putting it around your waist.
She got slightly up to not put much pressure on your body, holding her own weight. Abby left some kisses around your breasts and up your clavicle again, speaking in between "just lay here, 'kay?" you kept on undoing her braid, taking your time with it.
Her lips stopped pressing on yours, resting once again on top of you. Her right hand travelled to the back of her head, right where yours was, running your fingers along her long hair. Abby stopped you, dragging your hand to the sides of your body, completely quiet.
Your legs were intertwined with each other. Purposely, abby took yours, making it stay still in between hers. "Don't move" she kneeled on top of you for a couple of secons, readjusting both of your bodies.
Her arms were now around you, and you could feel how wet she was. You could cum again just by the feeling.
She started to rub herself on you, slow. You moved her hair to the sides, kissing and licking her neck to remember her scent, her flavor, her skin.
Every move she did was accompanied by her soft whimpers and wines. Some growls whenever you lowered your leg or purposely holded her in place. All for you, next to your ear.
The adrenaline mixed with the need of keeping silence made her sound even more desperate, crying painfully quiet right next to you.
You let your hands wander along her body, gripping at her ass, moving the palm of your hands over it, behind her back and neck, playing with her sensitive nipples and strongly grabbing at her breasts.
She felt so good. She tasted so good. She smelled so good. "Gonna cum, gonna cum... fuck" Abby repeatedly murmured.
You couldn't contain yourself, just watching her rub over you. You had to help her with it.
You started by moving your thumb over her clit. Circle over circle as your lips pressed over her skin, over her lips to help her keep quiet when it got too much.
Until she trembled over you. There was nothing that could ever make you forget how her muscled flexed and tensed around you, over you. How she whined so fucking gracefully. How her eyes clenched at your touch. It was majestic.
She'd only shown this weakness around you, since the moment she first stepped inside your house. It had always and it will always be you.
"Shhh shhh" you whispered, rubbing her back as she let the wave of pleasure evaporate.
Abby tried not to, but there was nothing else she could do but let her body lay on top of you.
So that's how you stood for a while, until crickets lowered their chirping and the moon got brighter due the sky getting darker.
"Did we make noise?" You laughed silently "nothing to worry about" Abby rolled next to you, making space for your body to fit in right next to hers.
Your eyes catched her blouse laying at the end of the bed "you wore that shirt the first day you were here" abby ran her fingers over your cheek, then over your lips "Yeah?" You nod "will you give it to me when you go?"

a breakdown of opev reg’s style evolution because i felt like talking about it :)
PART 1: OGNI PARTE E VIVA🍊
in opev, regulus didn’t truly develop a sense of style yet. he was still trying to figure himself out, and figure out a way to express that in ways he was comfortable.
regulus mostly dressed for comfort in opev.
in the warm seasons, he’d wear a lot of loose button ups and t-shirts, shorts or swim trunks. he most of the time wore a pair of converse, and sometimes sunglasses. in the colder seasons, he wore standard cold weather things like sweaters, jeans, gloves, hats, etc etc. he also rewears outfits often.
there were times where he would show some of his personality in his outfits. the things he truly did style were: his hair, his jewelry (namely the star of david necklace), and the occasional band t-shirt. his clothes usually are cool tones, such as blues and cool greens, as well as neutrals like white and black. outside of those things, he dressed pretty generically.
i feel his style reflects the music he listened to at the time. opev regulus was on the new wave train from the start, being a fan of the talking heads and joy division early in their careers. while joy divison was dark in tone, talking heads was relatively upbeat and a more familiar band to regulus as they’d been around longer than joy division.
my inspirations for his outfits was, very unsurprisingly, elio from call me by your name. although i did stray away from the polo shirts, because i didn’t think opev regulus would really wear those. i wanted to keep a sense of put togetherness despite his lack of personal style by having him wear loose button ups a lot and take care of his hair.
there is only one instance in opev where regulus has a chance to dress up a little bit, and that’s when he and james go to an art gallery. regulus wears a button up shirt, jeans, and a jean jacket.
good elio references i looked at a lot for opev:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
PART 2: TEMPS SANS FIN🌃
i know we haven’t dived too much into the sequel yet, but oh boy do i have plans for his fashion there.
between opev and tsf, regulus has developed a true sense of self and a sense of fashion of his own. part of that was from his experiences in university, where he dated a musician named chiara who got him more into the new wave/goth music scene. another part was simply him getting older and living independently.
in the 70s regulus dressed for necessity and with a vague new wave influence, and in the 80s he expanded on that a bit.
i’d describe his 80s style as predominately new wave with a bit of goth and new romantics thrown in there.
he has kept with his loose button ups, but has traded his converse for boots and began to experiment a little more with accessories. necklaces, rings, and yes even earrings and nail polish have made their way into his outfits. he’s also began to use makeup, albeit just a little, when it comes to his eyes, reminiscent of the goth and new romantics influences he’s gathered.
his hair has changed over the years, and he’s started doing a variation of the wavy pompadour/elephant trunk hairstyle popular among the new wave scene as well as more mainstream scenes. i imagine the hairstyle to be a bit like duckie’s from pretty in pink, but mostly like elio’s hair in the epilogue of cmbyn.
as i said for part 1, music greatly inspires opev regulus’s style. in the 80s, his edge of goth and new romantics comes from the music he started listening to. he leaned more into goth in the 80s with his love for bands such as the cure (at least early the cure), depeche mode, bauhaus, echo & the bunnymen, and the smiths— he also kept up his love for joy division, while his passion for talking heads faded a bit as they wandered more into pop territory.
inspirations i have for regulus include: john taylor, steve jansen, a little bit of john koviak and robert smith, but heavy with the john taylor
photo inspo (most of which are john taylor. i’m sorry. his outfits are just almost exactly what i picture reg wearing in the 80s.)

Today in nobody’s moving in from CMBYN, it’s me.
I went to Italy to see the Formula 1 GP (and it was cool), but oh no ! Monza is so close to Crema, what a shame to no go there 😉
So I booked a tour with Antonio, and for a few hours, we went to the places where they shot the movie. I was with 2 sisters from US who were so nice.
Let’s just say that it was awesome. Like that they almost didn’t do a lot to change the places to make them look like 30 years ago. Everything is so authentic, the places, the roads,…
My favorite was probably Elio’s secret place. In real it’s not that secret, but the place is so quiet and beautiful. And yes the water is cold. But not as cold as I thought.
Anyway, Antonio was a very good guide, he even bought us according to him “ the best gelato in Crema” (and it was the best!) , he’s a good friend with Malfada and he knows everything about the movie.
If you ever have the chance to go there some days, just go.

ahh i hope it’s okay to send a few pairings in one ask for the tickle fight thing!!! if not feel free to pick one or two from these xoxo
jeremy & michael (bmc); elio & oliver (cmbyn); l & light (death note); jd & veronica (heathers); nancy & robin (stranger things)
Luckily for you I happen to love all these ships, so I will be completing each of these~ Thanks for sending some in!
In the future though, I'll probably have people send just one or two at a time though, just because tagging is a bit of a mess lol
Under the cut because it got long yada yada yada
Round Eleven: Jeremy vs Michael
Okay so. Technically Michael was the sole winner of their tickle fights for most of their friendship, however, this was mostly because he would take down Jeremy before the other boy ever got a chance to actually fight back. I feel like Michael would both know about and have The Kink (not necessarily sexually, that's just the only term that doesn't sound stupid for it lol), so he's always nervous about people tickling him because he's worried someone's gonna figure it out. So for a lot of their friendship, Jeremy believed that Michael just wasn't ticklish.
Until one day, around their sophomore year, Jeremy accidentally went for this spot on Michael's knee and the latter let out this shriek-y giggle sound and immediatelly fled the fight in his scramble to get away. And Jeremy's eyes are so wide because wtf you aren't supposed to be ticklish. But of course he has to test this out, which is when he realizes that apparently Michael Mell is unbelievably ticklish everywhere and a mess when tickled. So after that, their fights became more 50/50 (as Jeremy still loses a fuckton of them due to being a ball of ticklish nerves)
Round Twelve: Elio vs Oliver
I feel like Oliver wins most of their tickle fights unless he's purposefully letting himself fail. Elio's definitely the more ticklish of the two, which makes him more likely to lose and more determined to win. Oliver is pretty ticklish himself, but you have to catch him in the right mood or else he's good at resisting it. Early mornings are the best time for this, when he's all soft and sleepy. It'll start with Elio's fingers gently brushing his sides, and then warm, ticklish kisses on his neck and breath in his ear, and all of a sudden Elio is pinching his hips and Oliver is curling up against him and letting out these very un-Oliver like giggles. He won't fight back in the morning either, so most of Elio's wins have come from this. However, the majority of the time, no matter who instigates it, Elio is losing hard.
Round Thirteen: L vs Light
Just to start this off, I don't think that these two would engage in that many tickle fights to begin with. It does occur sometimes, but in general they're not that touchy of people. HOWEVER. When they do occur, Light is almost always the victim. L has detective advantages and can pinpoint his worst spots. He likes to catch Light off guard and wrap their chain around his other wrist before he can notice, and then he'll just casually poke along Light's frame, commenting on all of his reactions. And Light is hissing and struggling to break free and doing everything in his power not to laugh despite how scarily good L is at tickling. Also, Light has this spot on his neck that kills him every time and he cannot fight back at that point, all of his efforts are devoted to blocking off the area. L usually only loses when he hits too ticklish of a spot and Light gets hit with this bolt of energy that allows him to turn the tables.
Round Fourteen: JD vs Veronica
It's almost perfectly even between the two, they're like children about it. Both only siblings, both having never had to deal with tickle fights, both with pretty equal sensitivity. JD is more vicious in his approach, but Veronica is methodical with it and will allow herself to be taken down for a bit if it gives her time to strategize. I'd argue that JD might lose a bit more purely because he not-so-subtly enjoys the affection and will give up the fight just to get wrecked. Not that he'll ever admit to it, of course.
Round Fifteen: Nancy vs Robin
NANCY. Robin cannot hold her own in a tickle fight to save her life. She can win against Steve because he lets her and doesn't mind it, so I feel like she developed this cockiness with it that was quickly disproven when she first tried going up against Nancy. Nancy IS ticklish, don't get me wrong, but she doesn't really enjoy the sensation or the lack of control it gives her. Sometimes she's more okay with it than others, especially when Robin's the one doing it, but she can't help her body's natural fight or flight response to it. She gets mean with tickling to, going for worst spots right away and using her long nails to her advantage. And Robin, who is a mess of nervous energy to begin with, never stands a chance against her. I would argue that while sometimes Nancy will let her tickle her, if she's in the right mood, Robin can never win if it's a genuine tickle fight.

OK my thoughts on yr s3 because time passes inevitably. Will maybe update after ep 6
- I saw a post where someone said "Wilmon has to get together otherwise what was it all for?" And while I do respect this viewpoint, I am a suckered for tragedy, and the point of the story is that for some amount of time, whether it's forever or these tumultuous few months of their youth, it HAPPENED
- to wit, in cmbyn elio and Oliver do not get together, Oliver moves on and elio is still remembering and trying to move on and they both remember and even though it was just that summer they have both been changed by this and they are holding it in themselves. A love story does not have to be happy for it to be love
- if August and Sara have a happy ending I'll eat a shoe though
- August is such a fascinating character, I love how they brought in Erik being a traditionalist and an assailed in such stark contrast to who Wille is and how Wille sees his big brother
- I really hope the Erik thing gets a better conclusion in episode 6
- it almost feels like there are two many loose ends to tie up nicely so I am kinda worried about that
- the main thing I want is for Wille and Simon to have a conclusion though, no matter if it's good or bad. Also for Wille to be happy and not kronprins anymore bc happy and monarchy cannot coexist for this little ball of anxiety

Dune Part 2: Initial Thoughts.
Watched Dune Part two and I hate to be a contrarian, but it was just OK to me. Below is my non-spoiler take on the movie. Please excuse any grammatical errors, I'm just jotting down my thoughts.
Let's start with the positive! Here's What I enjoyed:
Cinematography and technical aspects.
We live in a world where bad and downright comical CGI has somehow become the norm. Dune circumvents this with a combination of beautiful practical scenery and effects and technical mastery that I don't think I've seen since the Pirates of the Carribean. It allowed me to be fully immersed in the world, and I truly appreciated that.
The performances of Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Javier Bardem, and Austin Butler.
While I don't think anyone turned in an Oscar worthy performance, I do think that these 4 did really well with the material they were given. Zendaya gave a performance that was both nuanced and in moments quite fierce. Chani’s love, skepticism, and anger were all portrayed wonderfully. I absolutely loved the fluency in which she spoke the Freman language and the chemistry she had with Souheila Yacoub. With that being said, I have some notes lol. Some of the lines were both written and delivered awkwardly, her signature “scowl” became repetitive, and her eyes tended to be kind of dead in some emotional moments. But, I think that with more roles/experience under her belt, Z can become quite the force if she wants to be. Overall, I really enjoyed her performance.
Rebecca played a very believable momma bear and puppet master. She is, in my opinion, an underrated actor. There was never a moment where her performance left me wanting more.
Javier brought effortless humor to this film. Although I will say, the humor combined with the weird pacing made the religious zealot aspect of his character less believable. It kind of felt like when we got to those parts, he was still joking.
Austin plays a psychopath really well! No notes lol.
And now, what I didn't enjoy:
Timothee Chalamet
I know this is a very unpopular opinion, and I’ve TRIED to understand the hype, but I just…don’t. With that being said, he was good when it came to playing the “boy” Paul Atreides, but when it came time to be a fierce leader/Messiah, nothing about his portrayal was believable. Everytime he yelled or raised his voice, it completely took me out of the movie, almost to the point of laughing. Also, jumping from Zendaya, Javier Bardem, and Souheila Yacoub speaking the Freman language to Timothee speaking it, was jarring to say the least. Overall, it was an ok performance, but I feel he gets a TON of grace because of CMBYN. And I’ll leave it there.
The Pacing
It was rough, I can’t lie. One second, you're in a fast-paced action sequence, and then the next thing you know, the movie grinds to a halt via jump cut to a different, seemingly unrelated, scene where everybody is whispering.  Also, the quickness in which everyone, including the non-believers, rallied behind Paul contributed to the pacing issue. Everything either happened too fast or too slow and it never really found a balance. This movie jumps around a lot and sometimes it’s sloppily done and confusing.I know that there is a lot that has to be fit into these movies, but I feel like this aspect could’ve been handled better. Ultimately, I think it’s why the movie ended up feeling really long and sometimes repetitive to me.
Lack of Explanations
For starters, I don't like it when movies spoon feed you. BUT, in cases like Dune, where there’s a ton of pre-existing lore, I think it’s necessary to offer some explanation for the audience members who haven’t read the book. Introducing certain themes and items without any explanation whatsoever, will leave a lot of moviegoers confused and feeling like there may be a plot hole. For example, Chani’s blue scarf. If you haven’t read the book, you will have absolutely no idea why it suddenly appears halfway through the movie. You can make guesses based on prior scenes, but you’ll probably be wrong because the real reason is never introduced in the movie.
Overall, it was a decent experience. But to be honest, I don’t think it being placed in the same category as great sequels, such as the Dark knight, is warranted. I think this movie is getting a ton of grace simply because of the names attached to it and the general lack of well made action movies. It’s in the right place at the right time.
Well, that’s it for now. Hope you enjoyed the read!

hey liv ever finish a fic so beautiful written so good and gasp and think holy shit what was that. WHAT. and feel like youre just coming back up from being submerged after inhaling the words of the fic you just read bc you couldnt put it down couldnt slow down if you tried bc the words keep pulling you in you have to know what happens next and it only dawns on you that youre already at the end seconds after you read the last word and you just sit there holding your breath and staring at nothing as you try to get a hold of what just happened and what you just read and inside you feel like youve just went through a different truck ton of emotions and its over too soon without you realizing
Wow anon, that was so beautifully put! I relate 100% to that feeling of complete submersion and intense urge to read what comes next, no matter how hard I try to pace myself and relish the story. It’s almost like an “out of body” experience and then it’s over too soon and we’re left completely bereft and changed. This quote from CMBYN sounds very appropriate: “He came. He left. Nothing had changed. I had not changed. The world hadn’t changed. Yet nothing would be the same. All that remains is dreammaking and strange remembrance.”
Some fics be like that! One of the reasons why I think thrice before starting a long fic these days, especially before bed 💀 I don’t need that kind of devastation ruining a good night of sleep thank

watching s2 of young royals today and honestly the thing about how adults make shows abt minors having sex is cool but ff isn’t….. literally a major plot point in this show is that a sex tape of minors gets spread, and i’ve never seen anyone question the morality of having that in a show?? everyone loves this show (or at least the ’minors having sex on screen’ isn’t why they don’t). double standards🙌🏻 don’t even get me started on call me by your name lmao
See, the thing about this argument is; yeah! You're entirely correct. There is a massive double standard in fandom when it comes to underage sex in paid fiction - TV, published books, comics, movies - verses when it appears in fanfiction. Euphoria is a really big one for this, because those underage characters are also constantly having sex, but there's no massive stink raised about adults writing that script either.
(CMBYN had the double whammy of a 17 year old having explicit sex AND the age gap of the main pairing which no one seems bothered by. It's a little different to my eyes - living in the UK, the age of consent is 16, so I don't see the underage aspect there - but it's another example of a typically American fandom ignoring their supposed morals when it's harder to get their hands on the creators/the work itself includes everyone's favourite skinny white boy, Timmy.)
But the real problem at the heart of this moralistic, puritanical campaign against underage sex depicted in fanfiction, is how twitter fucking loves to call it child porn. Because it's not.
Calling explicit underage sex in fanfiction child porn isn't just harmful to actual victims of it, but it also encourages the idea that queerness in inherently explicit/nsfw/unacceptable to greater society; because the fanfic that gets this pushback? Is overwhelmingly queer-created, and featuring queer-pairings.
This piling on encourages the idea that the mere existence of queer teenagers is nsfw, and it does so much harm, especially when trans kids are suffering so much already. A person might argue 'oh well stop writing that we're having sex at 16 then'; except that's real life. And everyone who was once sixteen knows it.
There is nothing unrealistic about writing teenagers having sex. When I was a teenager almost everyone in my class started having sex at fourteen. I had my first ever dramatic wlw breakdown at 14 when my best friend - who I had not yet realised I was in love with - admitted she'd had sex with her boyfriend, again, at fourteen years old.
So it's not unrealistic. It's not child porn, because that's a very real and harmful crime that affects real life children; and as a reminder, is a crime, and so would not be allowed on AO3 if that's what it was.
If the problem is the ages of those creating the work in question, I have two points.
First; if all underage smut was written by sixteen year olds, it would suck. That's not a judgement, it's just a fact. At sixteen you don't have enough life experience to know what good sex feels like, let alone how to write it well so everyone enjoys reading it. From all the 'im just gonna separate the artist from the art' rhetoric out there, it's clear that people get this point already. It's good fic. It's good because of the years of life and writing experience. The problem is the age of the creator. Which brings me to point number two.
Second; the people coming after writers for underage smut are cowards, and they're hypocrites. I don't feel like sugarcoating it any more. Twitter has been quite gleefully gloating about threatening some people's children, so there it is; cowards and hypocrites.
You will quite happily come after small creators on the internet BC they're in their 30s, but the 40-50 year old men having actors who represent underage teens in their shows get their tits out? The actors themselves, performing underage sex? Nah.
It's hypocrisy at its finest. If your morals do extend to shows like Euphoria, it's cowardice, because you're only throwing your weight around here, behind anon, where there are no big consequences for you being a little bitch.
The double standards are exhausting. The sad part about them is how few people recognise their own double standards. Sadder still is that their reaction, most likely, would be 'then I should stop watching these shows' instead of 'well then I should leave these people alone'.
I hope you're enjoying your show though, dear anon. I've not got around to watching Young Royals but the premise does make me 👀 I'll admit.

I wanted to recommend the novel of Arrête avec tes Mensonges if you've not read it. In English it's called Lie With Me, which is also not a great title. I cried for a long time after finishing it. It's a lot sadder than CMBYN... won't say for spoilers, but it's just heartbreaking. I have tickets for the film later in the month and so relieved to see you liked it, I was worried it wouldn't do justice to the book. I did wonder how autobiographical it is.
Hi there! First thing, I’m glad you have access to the book and the movie, which doesn’t seem easy to do 🙏 Yeah, Lie with Me is a great title! Sounds better than the French one in my opinion even if the two titles are about a different aspect of the story.
It is sadder than CMBYN and yet I’d give anything to read a cmbyn fic inspired by Arrête avec tes Mensonges — maybe a story closer to the movie script would be more intersting but there is enough in the cmbyn book to hint into this parallel universe. Take all my tears fic writers, pleaseeee
I won’t say much about the movie since you haven’t seen it yet and many others haven’t either and want to but I’ll say this. The 80’s part is almost identical while the ‘present’ day is different in its writing. More written if that makes sense, in a cinematographic way. Less in the facts and the introspection of the narrator and more complete in a storytelling way, if that makes sense. But you’ll see. I think they did a good job with the movie and I hope you’ll like it :)
And to think that it’s autobiographical… I don’t want to think about it, actually 😞

This is so not capri related AT ALL but I need to weep and I can’t think of a better way than moping on Tumblr. I read ‘Call Me By Your Name’ after a lot of deliberation. I never tried to read it because I didn’t want anything to dull the film for me. I never wanted to say shit like “the book is better than the movie”. CMBYN was the first film I truly deeply loved and cherished. I don’t know what that says about me, but I like it on an unhealthy level. It’s too precious for me and the idea that anything would make it smaller in my mind was so devastating.
Anyway, I did read it and you did not ask, but I will tell you (!!) the movie and the book fucking complement each other. There are a lot of plot points that are different and they work wonderfully in both ways. The movie’s script is obviously written with the intent to Please on a screen, but the book, holy shit the fucking book. No one, I mean.. absolutely no one has the right to do that to me. It’s so brutally offensive how Andre Aciman made me weep… weep through the end of it... The fucking audacity to write the way he did… nuh-uh.
The writing is too beautiful, Elio is even more relatable and loveable. You see a lot of things you don’t in the film, the more evasive ideas, they’re detailed in Elio’s narration. It’s too GOOD to be a real book. And not to mention, when my imagination failed to capture the beauty of a scene, guess what, my memory of the movie provided it!! Fucking hell. So it’s easy to break down and cry over the overwhelming flood of emotions in my throat.
Emotional wreck, forever moping woman. That’s what I am reduced to now.
Between this and getting turned on by ‘girl in redI’, I’m starting to question my sexuality, well, nvm. Anyway, here’s a bunch of quotes that I found tooo heart-wrenching, sweet, honest and something.
He was more me than I had ever been myself, because when he became me and I became him in bed so many years ago, he was and would forever remain, long after every forked road in life had done its work, my brother, my friend, my father, my son, my husband, my lover, myself.
“Did I have a spot?” he asked with a half grin.
“You’ll always have a spot.”
I wanted to tell him that the pool, the garden, the house, the tennis court, the orle of paradise, the whole place, would always be his ghost spot. And you’re suddenly there, lighting up your first cigarette of the day—twenty years ago today. For as long as the house stands, this will be your ghost spot—and mine too, I wanted to say.
All I knew was that I had nothing left to hide from him. I had never felt freer or safer in my life.
I responded, getting all worked up myself over someone I had almost entirely stopped thinking about. Time makes us sentimental. Perhaps, in the end, it is because of time that we suffer.
“You are the only person I’d like to say goodbye to when I die, because only then will this thing I call my life make any sense. And if I should hear that you died, my life as I know it, the me who is speaking with you now, will cease to exist. Sometimes I have this awful picture of waking up in our house in B. and, looking out to the sea, hearing the news from the waves themselves, He died last night. We missed out on so much. It was a coma. Tomorrow I go back to my coma, and you to yours. Pardon, I didn’t mean to offend—I am sure yours is no coma.”
We rip out so much of ourselves to be cured of things faster than we should that we go bankrupt by the age of thirty and have less to offer each time we start with someone new.
I’d stare at the water that evening and for a split second forget that he wasn’t here any longer, that there was no point in turning back and looking up to the balcony, where his image hadn’t quite vanished.
I can, from the distance of years now, still think I’m hearing the voices of two young men singing these words in Neapolitan toward daybreak, neither realizing, as they held each other and kissed again and again on the dark lanes of old Rome, that this was the last night they would ever make love again.
Whom else would I ever be able to call by my name?

Anons love to focus on actors singlehandedly attracting tons of people to go to the theatre forgetting that there's something called synergy, meaning that a specific actor can bring extraordinary value to a specific project but not to any type of project. A great example is Tom Cruise. In the last 20 years, a lot of Tom's movies have bombed, but his presence in the Mission Impossible movies and Maverick was essential for those movies to become mega-blockbusters. Without Tom, most people would not really be flocking to that spy saga and people didn't go to watch Maverick due to Miles Teller and Glen Powell
The cast of Little Women worked synergistically with its story to make it successful. CMBYN was a pretty successful indie because many identified with the coming of age gay movie and Timmy worked synergistically in its context. But it's harder to find people to go to theatres to watch a love story between 2 cannibals or see how a woman deeply falls into opioid addiction after an accident. And Challengers definitely will be a harder sell than if Z had chosen a charming romcom, a buddy comedy or a thriller. There are almost no actors with a fanbase that will watch anything they do even if it has 5% rotten tomato score. I think that Harry Styles has that kind of fanbase. Not even Taylor Swift's ultrafans supported her in Cats
Oh laaawwwwd not "Cats"!! Rofl 😅🤣🙈
I watched it because I've always LOVED the music from Andrew Loyd Weber in that play lol.
I didn't hate the movie, but yea, it's not one I'm in a rush to see again. 👀
Taylor only had a small tiny part in the movie as far as I'm concerned, so if fans skipped out on it, that's probably one of the reasons why. That, and also some ppl just aren't into musicals (like myself). 🤷🏾‍♀️
The reviews were bad.... so that didn't help either. 😅
Anyway, great points about Tom Cruise! He's another A-list GOAT imo, but not all of his films are box office hits.
But yea, he's basically been doing the Mission Impossible franchise for over 20 years now (is it?) and he seems perfectly happy doing so. 🤷🏾‍♀️
I'm not really caring about the box office numbers for "Challengers" tbh. I just want to see a good story, and good acting. That's basically it. 🤷🏾‍♀️ It seems like an indie film anyway, so I never have high expectations with box office for those.
Good points about the synergy of a cast in a film. 👍🏾

Your HS vs FK analysis makes sense. I think people compared the two purely because the watch hours for both are readily available, and HS is also a recent queer teen show. While completion times aren't as readily accessible (and not from Netflix) for both shows. I also suspect that Netflix tracks unique user views which means same account watching a show a million times = watching 1 time to Netflix. So fans binging it repeatedly won't help. Nonetheless, if FK had bigger views and lower completion rate, then most of those views happened in first half of the season, meaning that's a problem with the show clicking with a wider audience (either due to story problems or marketing attracting wrong audience problems), and not marketing reach itself. But if the views were overall lower and completion rates higher, then the problem would be marketing not reaching enough people. I am curious what were HS' completion rate. As well as knowing if Netflix uses unique viewer numbers or just views total would help. Regardless, I am bummed that unambiguously from start wlw in lead role with the character not primarily written for straight audiences don't have staying power. I am also sad every time I see social media filled with accounts who hate these shows - often even before release - and seem unable to believe that others could love the show, and make it their business to produce post after post bashing it. I may be in a bubble but I feel wlw lead shows are overly targeted. Curious about your thoughts on the qualitative experience ?
@icantthinkofaname133 i tried to search the completion for Heartstopper, I couldn’t find anything but I am sure it’s high, not only because it got renewed but because the show was easy to watch and not long. Netflix are very secretive about their numbers and it’s true that the hours watched data kind of don’t mean anything. For First kill, it’s coming from people who basically only watched the first couple episodes as it was tracking up until the 12th of June and Fk was released on the 10th. I wrote the post of the fk and hs analysis with obviously knowing what is the problem and where it’s coming from, it’s stemming over the fact that wlw rarely get any rep, even on shows that have queer couple as secondary couple, it’s almost always a male couple but like I said this issue that is important to be brought up can be without saying gay are too privileged in the media. Actually I have the contrary impression of you, I feel mlm shows/movies are more targeted as people believe gay has too much representation and are always centered in media : all the biggest queer movies in the media are starring gay men (Brokeback, CMBYN, Moonlight), all the biggest queer shows are about gay men (Love Victor, Heartstopper), gay couple are the majority in term of secondary couple in straight media (Lone star, Sex Education) and of course almost all the upcoming queer projects are about gay representation ( RWRB, My policeman, Aristotle and Dante) like I said gay men and gay representation suffered for years and years, it’s still up to very recently that real change were seen even if we are still far behind. Love Victor came out not even 3 years ago and they got moved from Disney+ to Hulu because the gay rep was deemed not family friendly, it’s only for the 3rd and last season that the full show was aired on Disney+. Lesbians rep is a little behind but it will get there and it’s important to call out the over-cancellation of wlw centric shows, but I am going to be honest I hate that it’s with First Kill that the argument is being pushed, yes First Kill is the last prominent cancellation of a sapphic show and 2022 had been the record for sapphic show to end (The Wilds, Killing Eve, Gentleman Jack) but i believe it’s not First kill they particularly want as honestly the show was not good and yes I know it didn’t stand any chance as Netflix did not care for it a bit, but I believe First Kill being cancelled as a show is the best thing to do if they are not going to make any effort and the product was already not good in season 1. Now there need to be more wlw produced shows or movies, Casey mcquiston wrote two sapphics book they should get their own adaptations, they are going to have the seven husbands of Evelyn Hugo. Releasing high quality wlw centric shows with multiple seasons, and also start to give trans masc some rep as really their representation is abysmal.

Feel free to ignore this. I’m new to the tumblr rpc (where I rp is very different from here) and I’m not american nor european, so there’s plenty I don’t understand. I don’t want this to come off rude, but why is it so important to ban certain fcs on Tumblr? I get the whole “do not use deceased fcs, minors or criminals”, but it feels a little over the top reading through banned fcs lists of over 50-100 people who have barely done anything that can be deemed as problematic. Isn’t the fc just that, a faceclaim? A visual representation. Their irl values don’t have to align with ours or our muses’. We’re not casting them for a movie role, they’re not getting paid. They’re definitely not getting any more famous because we use their gifs for rping purposes. It’s just that: a gif. An image. I honestly don’t see the big deal with using, say, Timothée Chalamet because he had a couple of movie roles that don’t fit my moral compass (CMBYN and ARDINY), which btw is different for everybody so I just can’t expect it to be universally wrong nor right. It just isn’t. So I don’t know. I’ve been in the tag for a few weeks now and I’m getting a bit anxious because every little thing seems like a problem, and as a much as I would like to try rping here, feels like even the slight slip up might end up in me getting “cancelled”.
welcome to the rpc !
we are in this dumpster fire, together !
woo !
you're not being rude, at all ! and i agree, tbh, but there's also like valid reasoning and it goes way more into depth. it's not black and white, but a huge grey area.
so, basically, banning faceclaims is something that roleplay groups usually do. sometimes, there's pre-established banned faceclaims on a list (which is usually based on the admin group's level of comfort and sometimes what they feel their prospective members would not like to see on the dash). from there, the players can tell the admins of trigger faceclaims that are put on the list to ensure their safety and comfort. it's also why you'll see some places ban halsey, and others don't - ect. cause, really it comes down to the admins and their players.
so, the premise of banned faceclaims is actually good to keep the roleplay community a safe place for people in a group setting and independently. but, i can see how it may come across as overboard. especially in groups where they have extensive lists.
at the end of the day, it just comes down to everyone's comfort level. to be honest, timothée is showing up on less and less banned fc lists - because the roleplay community switches up so fast - i get whiplash haha.
i think that's why most people tend to gravitate towards indie roleplaying. because you get to set your own boundaries, and people are more open-minded with plots and faceclaims (you make your own rules!).
like, even i have my own limits. i refuse to play against a specific faceclaim or even allow him in my roleplay groups because the mere sight of him makes me insides rot. again, it's all just a comfort thing.
i understand you may be a little uneasy, but... my ass has been cancelled like 1234567890 times and i'm still here with plots and friends and making groups. i lit just blast 'look what you made me do' by t. swift and carry on. i even had the audacity to make the rpc call me ‘dad’ for almost a solid year after being ‘cancelled’.
roleplaying is supposed to be fun. the community, itself, is.... chaotic, but once you find what type of roleplaying works for you, you find your roleplaying partners, and you create your own little place - it's a vibe. i promise.

wait lemme tell y'all about how Italy made me trans
*disclaimer, I was already iffy abt my gender and working through my own feelings. I looked pretty androgynous and was like "fuck it what's the worst that could happen."
*my program coordinators were dope and made sure I felt comfortable as a soft transmasc person, especially when going to religious sites where there was significant gender segregation
ANYway
Got yelled at at outgoing airport, but didn’t get pat down. Mad about shit I had in my pockets, but no issues with the binder!
Used the mens bathroom exclusively at the airports (gross y'all live like this?)
Got on the flight, correctly gendered by flight attendants every time (he/him)
Made it through customs nonissue. Literally the most chill customs agents—barely looked at my passport. like talking in Italian and not giving a shit. peak
Used mens bathroom when I got to Italy again exclusively. Was able to get my own room so didn’t have to worry abt roommates
Presented male throughout Italy. Almost got accosted by a street vendor by the colosseum but that was more of me being American than being trans. Literally had to dodge and bolt bc he was coming at me I was cornered against a wall all while my friend was watching, concerned but amused from afar.
So many hot men in Italy. I’m sorry, but my dumb gay ass was dying.
Also EXTREME gender dysphoria around Italian youth. they didn’t all look like Timothee chalamet in cmbyn but they were pretty goddamn close.
Italian bathrooms are superior to American bathrooms. There I said it. Except for the mens bathroom at the Roman forum, but there were a bunch of international tourists there, so what can I expect.
Got called “sir” by Italian folks, which was rad.
Walked around at night alone. Needed to run to a convenience store late and went by my self. Told my friends where I was going but otherwise wasn’t afraid.
Was designated the navigator™️ by all my fem friends when we were hanging out. Designated “keep an eye on things” and watch out for creeps, which was super validating.
Went to the great Italian mosque where women had to wear head coverings. I was pre-everything (HRT, surgery, etc) at the time so the coordinator of the trip talked to me about it beforehand. Passed well enough where it wasn’t an issue.
Also went to the synagogue where they had all the mean wear (Jewish head coverings) I was given one, but my friends told me the rabbi hesitated, like he couldn't tell.
But I was getting pretty wiped by this point so I sat outside for a breather. I'm scared of organized religion #TraumatizedExCatholic
Spent the evenings alone often and worked with trying to get my top surgery consult scheduled.
The end of the trip was quickly approaching and I realized it didn’t want to come back to the US, not just because Italy is wonderful, but because I’d be coming back to a world of misgendering, discomfort, and depression.
Obvi I had to go back tho, and here’s where the issues started.
Leaving Italy was fine, no issues there
Had to get my passport checked again when we got to Paris. Customs hesitated but let me through.
As I was in line to get off the plane, they were checking passports again. The French official took mine and spend a good minute just looking at me back and forth before saying “ah, you got a haircut.”
I just nodded bc obviously I didn’t want to be detained in Paris. No use in explaining anything.
When I got to the door, they pulled me aside again for a “random security check.”
The rest of my class was on the flight already. I was one of the last people in the kiosk to board.
They went through my luggage—i only had a carry on. The guy checking me seemed to be American
Swiped by hands for chemicals
Took my passport and asked “are you a girl?” And it was like being punched.
I said yeah and explained that I’m trans. He just kept asking “so you’re a girl, right? You’re a girl, you’re a girl??”
And I’m like, yeah. Sure.
So then he goes “no hard feelings, yeah?” And returns my passport. I’m like, yeah.
Then I board the flight FINALLY
Got gendered correctly by the flight attendant, which was rad
Landed in the Atlanta airport, fuck Atlanta. Just generally but I also got “miss” and “ma’am” by security a bunch, which fucking sucked.
Man FUCK atlanta
Absolutely exhausted at this point so I didn’t even give a fuck
Landed back home and was able to get back
Oh yeah, had my wallet stolen with 80 euro, my military id, covid card, and a bunch of other important stuff, so I couldn’t get back into my dorm.
Fortunately, one of my friends was an RA and able to let me in, so I got back, collapsed in bed at 3 am and woke up abt seven hours later
and now im a Dude!

Watched cmbyn for the first time in 2022 and like I get it.
It was so good and then I’m like damn if only I had watched this when it came out.
But also like some ppl say it’s a gay movie for straight ppl? Like I fully enjoyed it and I am queer. I mean if anything Love Simon is more of that imo.
But also like god the gay pining is realll. Like I’ve never understood the Timothy chamalamadingdong hype. Mostly because I’m like barely into men in general anymore. But he was great! Also the other guy seems to be a criminal which isn’t great but the character is cool.
Idk why I am even posting on here these days. Like I know realistically no one will see it. But maybe that’s what I like? Like I’m sharing my thoughts but there’s no pressure bc no one will see it.
Just need a movie like this for lesbians and I’d ball my eyes out. Tbf it was sad and I almost was at cry level but not quite.
Also the ending? Him just looking teary eyed into the fire and his face just showing all the emotions but being completely silent. So fucking cool. Idk if the fly was intentional or not but like even if it wasn’t it was so cool.
Anyways another good day to be gay. I’ve been wanting to see this movie for so long bc like it was talked about a lot when it came out. Just wasn’t too available until now that it’s on Netflix! So many movies that I missed when they came out that are like cult classics aren’t on any streaming services. Which makes sense they know they have an audience that will buy/rent the movie when they wanna watch it. But I am broke and just wanna see these iconic movies!!!
lol and if anyone does see this and wants to share more good queer movies recs please lemme know

NAV! 😭 i reread “i glow pink in the night” and ffff—it’s so good. i also happened to watch “call me by your name” recently & i swear you would capture the vibe of a CMBYN au well (but w a happy ending bc wtf & more filthy bc i’m a ho of extravagant proportions). like you have that slow summer, italian countryvibes down. i imagine it perfectly in your style & i’d almost kill for it bc your writing is soso lovely & i miss your writing! ahdjs basically you’re on my mind 🖤
2/2 - hehe CMBYN anon but i ALSO meant to say that it was a combo of your glow & paradise/war zone that reminded me of you. 🙈🙈🙈
