I see people making Pokemon aus and I adore all of them, but also raise you: Pokemon Ranger (Shadows of Almia) QSMP AU. The first 'batch' of eggs are the graduating class at ranger school, the others either too young and so around or younger students (some of which may be on placement anyway so they can stick around). The adults have jobs around and about, mostly with the Ranger Union but not all. Some of the egg parents are already parents, but some will adopt kids later idk details. Don't have many Pokemon either. Also everything is only up to gen 4 except where it isn't.

A couple of thoughts

Chayanne is the protagonist, who accidentally reacts to the special magic tools and thus ends up the only person able to do the work. The adults do everything they can to help him. His main partner is psyduck, though he has some others.

Missa runs the farm on the coast (soulfire vibes) where Chayanne's non-active Pokemon hang out. Tallulah also lives there, being too young for ranger boarding school, and helps look after them. She also has a Kriketot.

Ramón has gone into the science side of things. Fit is already his dad, and Pac and Mike have taken him under their wings. He has a magnemite.

Richas is too young for any of this, but also keeps running off trying to help. Gible.

Etoiles is one of the Top Rangers, but from another region. He moved here recently. Pomme is his protege, and they plus the other French live together.

Baghera and Bagi do not work for the union, but I think it'd be fun if they had a PI company together. Even if they don't really have that dynamic in canon, I think it would be fun.

Philza used to be a top ranger, but stepped down some time ago. He now runs the ranger sub-union Chayanne is originally placed with (Chayanne is now trying to set him up with Missa). Not sure who else is there, maybe some of the Bolas members? As an Ender King callout he can get possessed by Darkrai towards the end, allowing Darkrai to actually speak to Chayanne. Unlike the Ender King, Darkrai is however being mind controlled and trying not to hurt the kid. There's probably some history.

Dapper is trained as a Ranger, but is probably eventually going to end up as a research assistant because he likes collecting Pokemon. So, he finds weird ones, brings them back for the scientists to study, rather than full on rescue missions.

Cellbit probably runs the ranger union proper and that's so boring but I guess. He's absolutely getting kidnapped and reawakening some surpressed horrific childhood memories at some point. But this is also a Pokemon world so they won't be /as/ bad as canon. Probably just got kidnapped as a kid too.

The Federation are bankrolling the team who are kidnapping and torturing Pokemon to try make unlimited energy. Darkrai is their big prize.

Felps is Felps. He and/or Cellbit probably get kidnapped sometime. Oops.

Tubbo isn't strictly part of the Union, but he's contracted to do some of the repair work. He also provides motorbikes, scooters, all of that sort of thing. Mechanic guy. Much of what he builds breaks the laws of sense, but he's just like that. Hangs out with Pac and Mike and Fit, and makes even bigger breaks in the laws of reality.

Fit is a veteran but not top ranger. He's also technically speaking working for a third party who may or may not want him to sabotage certain operations. He was absolutely fine with this. And then he adopted Ramón. And then he got a hot Brazilian Boyfriend. And now he has moral problems with it that'll likely eventually lead to problems, but they'll work it out this is a Pokemon au.

Foolish starts out as the Federation's liason to the Ranger Union. He'll betray them eventually, for now he's quietly gathering info.

Had I read that Ranger SoA manga (the one linked to PokeSpe) now instead of years ago, I might call Kellyn an OCD or... robot. Lol.

Then, again, I like his and Kate's dynamic as a team. They're both geniuses but Kate is occasionally preoccupied with her mechanic ability and kinda ditzy while Kellyn is the type of nerd who is... nerd and a follow-the-book person. At first, I think her outburst is right and she pushes him to move forward when Kellyn has no idea what to since the incident they're dealing with hasn't been recorded in his brain/database/past events. I should've have noticed it when Kate fixes his Styler, upgrading it as if it was new and better, in comparison to Kellyn who is a shut in (according to Barlow) and looks into past events as problem solving.

I enjoyed it overall, though I wonder if that Darkrai is heading Sinnoh, this manga takes place before Sird captures it? Idk. Maybe. I'm not sure. Anyway I'm so confused with the timeline but this and the first ranger manga happen before Pt chapter for sure.

A week has passed for everyone, and all were able to recover from their wounds…unfortunately, not emotionally and mentally. Even Aries herself including Lamont were still distraught upon learning what Veda has done to the both of them…. Oddly, peace was with the two. Lamont stopped having nightmares of that day and was able to sleep normally, and Aries felt closure in learning Cornelius is proud of her as well. It felt nice…. However, Cipher lived on with new leaders and three new Commanders. As well hearing rumors of some of the local Pokémon began to act strange while they began to attack people for no reason. Something has rose with Cipher, and like them, they to want revenge.

Aries meanwhile couldn’t do much thanks to her now scarred leg. Luckily it was healing quickly than normal which gives her the chance to try exercising her upper body and a bit on her legs to slowly recover through training exercise. Lamont remained in the Frigate to not only remain safe but to help whatever is happening to the outside, until hearing news that the Top Pokémon Rangers have arrived from Fiore, Almia, and Oblivia to investigate what has been going on.. he is relieved they are here, but he’s also concern for them all… especially his family back home, elbows on the deck and hands on his head as he began to worry for them… ‘Did Cipher got them before Aries’s family?…’ He thought. Feeling very anxious about it all, even trying to work up the courage to contact them was nerve wrecking for the poor man… having doubts and fears of them won’t forgive the actions he was forced to do…

But up in the skies of the Unova Region, sores a silver glider in a search for something while using the clouds as their shield to not be seen… not yet. Not until they find the Frigate… Flying through the cities and taking in the beautiful view of the Unova Region, it felt so peaceful to fly once again after so long… “Now where is that damn Ship though?”

So something like Almia cheated on him and left him with the kids so now he's a single dad of 2 boys. So now he's insecure/scared that the reader wouldn't want to be with a guy with 2 kids but turns out the reader loves his kids. All fluff please?

No Matter What (Solo Sikoa x Wrestler! Reader)

As the Smackdown Women's Champion you had a reputation to uphold, and that reputation was harder to uphold when you were looped into the bloodline, it wasn't exactly your choice but you didn't really mind much, you got along well with the Usos, Roman was pretty impressed with how you held yourself within your title defenses, Paul didn't really associate with you much, except for in promo's but Solo seemed to be the most cut off of them all.

you had thought Solo's whole silent thing was just an act for his character but whenever you had tried to talk to him he either stays silent or walks away from you, you didn't understand so you went to his brothers to ask

"Jey? Jimmy? you in here?" you looked around catering and spotted the two twins chatting with some of the other talent before they turned to look at you "Hey twin! whatchu need us for?" said Jimmy as you walked over "actually, I just want to talk about Solo" "huh? what for?" Jey questions as you all find a table to sit at "Just the way he's been...ignoring me, I'm worried he doesn't like me!" Jimmy and Jey look at each other before nodding.

"It's not that he don't like you, because he does, I think he just might like you too much, you know?" "No! No I don't know!" "Listen, don't tell anyone we told you this but...Solo likes you but he's scared, see his ex Almia and he had two children, Zion and Za'khi, then she cheated and left him with the kids, and he's scared if he tries to make a move you won't like him because he has kids!" you are shocked at the revelation "Fuck...what do I do? I want to show him I wouldn't hate him because of his kids!" "Well Solo is gonna bring them in because the show is finished, maybe that's how" you nod.

You hear little footsteps down the hall and look over to see two young boys followed by Solo, it immediately softens your heart and you smile widely as the little boys run over to see their uncles, you kneel down eye level with Zion "How are you little man?" he stares at you before smiling and wrapping his arms around you "Whoa!" he nearly knocks you off balance but you're able to catch yourself "It's nice to see you too! is that your daddy?" you point to Solo and he nods, you pick him up and stand with him as his little brother walks over, holding his hands up to you and you pick him up as well.

"Wow! look at you big boys! your dad must be so proud to have you two!" you lift them up and they giggle "do you like my dad?" you quirk your brow at the question from the older of the two boys "I mean he's cool, but I think I like you two even more" you teasingly poke his stomach and he laughs "Okay you two, leave her now" you hear Solo say as you lower them both to the ground but Za'khi won't let go of you.

"Awe, he's like a little koala!" you coo and lift him above your head, blowing raspberries into his stomach "He can stay with me Solo, I love children!" you toss him up and catch him.

"You...like kids?" "yeah! I basically raised my siblings growing up, so I know how kids work" Solo stares at you holding his youngest son as Zion walks over and tugs on his shorts "Can she be our new mummy? please?" Solo shushes him but you managed to hear the comment, a huge smile spreading across your face "I mean I'd love too, only if your daddy would let me" you smile up at Solo.

"I-...really?" "yes, I like you too dummy! but I think I love the kids more" you tease and he smiles at you, pulling you into a hug and kissing your cheek "God, you're the perfect woman" you cannot help the smile that spreads across your face as Zion motions for his dad to pick him up, the four of you looked like a picture perfect family, you look at Solo and lean over, leaving a small peck on his lips

"And that's going on the instagram" you look over to see jey holding his phone up, he must have taken a photo, Solo glares at him and tries to snatch the phone from his elder brother, you laugh as you watch Solo chase his brother around, the bloodline really was your family

Oh, also I thought about a new research topic: Treatment of Pokemon and how it ends up changing them. Keyword: Hydreigon

Pachirisu is a good one!! I've always loved Pachirisu, in Shadows of Almia I always made sure to choose them for my Partner Pokémon.

And that's a GOOD research topic! I imagine that would actually go well when studying Gyarados and Milotic. Feebas specifically need to feel beautiful in order to evolve! The Pokémon that is considered one of the ugliest species around is meant to be loved and feel beautiful! They need to be treated right in order to evolve!

James kicked a Magikarp and it evolved into a Gyarados immediately. Then, VERY LOGICALLY, it decided to go into a complete rage. Mistreatment is the obvious reasoning towards Gyarados' reputation, rather than it being a natural part of its personality.

(Honestly, you could say the same with Hisuian Zoroark, but obviously there would be no one researching that back then.)

And then there's Happiness and Affection evolutions! There is a need for a bond between two individuals as a requirement for a final evolution! Gah, Pokémon really are so interesting.

Professional, full-time rangers are paid like a regular job! The ones that are usually unpaid are ones that do it as voluntary work, and interns/exchange rangers that are learning the job for the first time.

You can definitely be a full-time volunteer if you'd like, and Arc knows they need all the help they can get.

This is me being an obsurce side game pokemon nerd but tbh I assumed the reason there were students of all ages, even adults/old people, at the academy in scarvi was because they just accept anyone regardless of age?

Cuz like in pokemon ranger shadows of almia there's a small quest about an adult guy stealing some capture equipment from the ranger school, and it's revealed he only did it because he wanted to be a ranger but thought he was too old, to which the teacher replies there's no age barrier and anyone can join the program.

So idk since the school seems to mostly teach trainer stuff as opposed to being a general education school with grades based on age, I figured they let people join regardless of how old they are, which honestly kinda fits the vibe of the pokemon world being a place where anyone can easily run off and follow their dreams, right?

Ranger Advocacy Groups!

I have a minute, so I thought I'd talk about ranger advocacy groups (or RAG's, or just rags if you're being casual). The Ranger Union has official subtypes and groups- things like operators, top rangers, marine rangers, aerial rangers, and sometimes temporary boards or groups convened for a specific goal or purpose.

Ranger advocacy groups are simpler and more flexible. The only requirement to register a rag with the union is for at least three rangers to sign a document saying so. Some have members that are not rangers, but 3 rangers is the minimum. All of them have to be self-funded. They are meant to be, well, interest and advocacy groups. Ways for people who are interested in a particular topic or goal to get together with like-minded people.

Some rags gave been around for decades and have full-blown newsletters and mailing lists and systems. Some are just three friends in someone's basement who thought it would be fun to have a little club. So the kind of advocacy they actually do, and what is expected of members, really depends on the group.

The Union website maintains a list of all registered RAGs, but that list is absolutely massive (since the registration requirements are so minimal) so I'm just going to highlight some of them.

Some of the biggest:

Political Engagement and Action RAG (PEARAG or Pol-RAG) Look, there are a billion different politically-based rags for every political party or issue you can think of. PEARAG is the oldest, biggest, and most generic. They work a lot with Union PR to advocate and lobby on behalf of rangers/the union to political candidates and non-rangers. They tend to organize voting drives or do canvassing, working for things like pro-ranger bills. I'm not a member because I find it better to do smaller-scale stuff, but if you're involved in political advocacy at all these guys are everywhere. The cosmic background radiation of political action. Pokemon League RAG The league doesn't have a foothold in Fiore, Almia or Oblivia. But basically everywhere else, there's often a RAG for rangers interested in pokemon training, battles, and coordinating with the League in some way. I don't know a lot about it but it sure does exist.

Route, Street and Path Safety RAG Rangers do a lot of work when it comes to routes, streets, roads and paths. We keep paths clear of tall grass, we clear blocked paths, we make sure people have safe passage through regions. So it makes sense that one of the biggest rags is focused on that aspect of the work. This rag has a lot of non-ranger members: often engineers, construction workers, city employees, and anyone else invested in Making Roads Work. Not a member but I appreciate their existence. (Again, all rangers do work that affects the streets, the RAG is just an organization for people who have a particular passion for that topic and want to do something in particular about it).

I'm personally a member of:

Injured and Disabled RAG Of all the rags I'm a member of, this is definitely the biggest. One does not have to be disabled to join. They have been around for almost as long as the union itself, and have constantly been working on supporting rangers with disabilities. They're responsible for all kinds of workplace protections, being able to register a support pokemon, and basically all improvements to disability leave. If you've ever benefited from accommodations as a ranger thank IDRAG right now and go donate to them.

Fiore Regional RAG What it sounds like- being invested in Fiore as a region and discussing what ranger actions would be helpful for the region as a whole.

Stigmatized Pokemon RAG This is a really nice one! Some pokemon get bad reputations. Sometimes it's entire types, like Dark, Bug or Poison. Sometimes it's individual species get commonly treated as unnecessary, unpleasant, or even evil. This rag is trying to push against that! We've done things like educational presentations, letter-writing campaigns, or just...calling out pokemon stigma in the moment. One of my friends through this RAG is a writer as a hobby and is actually working on publishing a children's book about Trubbish.

Rainbow RAG This is the interest group for all LGBTQ+ rangers and allies. Not a lot of direct impact on ranger work, but it's nice to have a regular group of people with shared experiences. That's really the whole point of the existence of rags.
