This is one of the most common misunderstandings people have. They don't want to be their true Selves first, they want to be Ego 2.0 (usually with better circumstances) right away.

I get that, I've been there. This is basically what we got taught in Law of Assumption - but it is a limitation still and a detour! As awareness you'll realize that you are already everything because you are the one imagining it all within you and therefore free of any desire or lack.

Just be and gain everything.

okay all seriousness y'all, i didn't see the movie opening day, i would have but i have a toddler and all that jazz. what i did do is see it a bit after? maybe a week. and then right after july fourth i made this sideblog to post a fic that was supposed to be a fix it fic for the movie/elvis's life. i remember saying man i don't trust my brain to let me write fic because last time i did any creative writing ( it was rp but it counts, because that's how i'm good at dialogue ) was back in 2016. nothing could have prepared me for the whirlwind that's been this fandom and how it's ignited my creative drive and my brain to be quite honest. i've had some times when there's been a hiccup or two for me in here but for the most part, truly this is one of the best fandoms i've ever been in and it shows in just how much i've been able to write.

i've met some fantastic friends (shout out to my discord wives @butlersxbirdy, @ab4eva, and @precious-little-scoundrel and my in general bestest besties who i try and talk to every day who get their own nicknames that mama is too tired to write out @powerofelvis, @prompted-wordsmith, @blurredcolour, @eliseinmemphis, and @stylespresleyhearted and someone else who knows who she is.) never going to stop being so thankful to @floralcyanide for making the efc even if it died down the way it did. and to @missmaywemeetagain for pink scarf but being a great person to talk to and go HOW DARE U at and @thatbanditqueen for getting my distaste for transatlantic accents and to @be-my-ally for somehow being weirdly on the nose with your guesses/feelings on things. and i'd tag so many other people but i don't want to clog up everyone's notifs.

honesty this movie kind of changed my life. it's given me something to hold on to when things have gotten rough and it's joined the very few movies i hold dear that can instantly give me a pick me up. i've been reminded of how delightful elvis's music is and i've gotten to hear music from him i've never heard. it's- it's been a blessing and one i do really gotta thank everyone for.

just thank y'all and i hope we're all still around for year two or even if we splinter off even more i hope we at least come back together every year. our own little elvis week to add to his birthday week and graceland's elvis week.

I think this is getting an actual drabble/ficlet.

Clavis was never one to be surprised. He was the surpriser. Everyone else the surprised. This was one of those emotions that until you felt it yourself, you couldn't conceptualize it. His heart was hammering in his chest as he gazed at you, seeing the love that flowed from every word you said as you held a ring out to him. You offered it to him freely, wanting to share your life with his from now until the end of eternity. He would have called you foolish for putting so much time and energy into someone like him if you hadn't crossed that hurdle when you decided to become lovers in the first place. He really thought he'd be the one to propose to you first and that made his heart swell that much more. That you wanted him and were as ardent in your commitment to him as he was to you. The mutual understanding, the mutual desire and need for one another was almost overwhelming.

"Clavis?" He didn't realize how long he had been quiet, or when the tear had rolled down his cheek. Your hand comes up to brush the tear away and you smile gently as he comes back to you. "There you are, my love. Where did you go?" You didn't ask him for an answer first. You checked on him. Gods, he loved you so much.

"To the end of the universe and back. In which every iteration of this world showed me that we would always find one another. Of course I'll marry you."

Hey! I love mayday Parker! I don't have any headcannons, but mostly because she was the first female hero comic I ever read. I fell in love with her badassery instantly. (Lowkey kinda wanna be her) so her character means a lot to me.

Is it a headcannon to think she's cooler than Peter?

i dont really talk about lumax because they don't really need to be analyzed since they're already canon but bro they are one of my favourite ships because their love is just so relatable and so raw and tender and i love it.

lucas would do anything for max. that boy is head over heels and i love him for that. he's just trying to do whatever he thinks is best for her.

and max struggles with being open but lucas is the one person that she CAN open up to, and that's just really sweet. they're both there for each other and they'll always be together.

so i originally was thinking to myself "conceal don't feel" about my feelings about this year and basically gushing about all of y'all but everyone has been doing it and look, look, i'm trying to be better about not coming off as an aloof person when i'm really the sort of person who thrives on at least little tiny hellos from people who i know like me. despite being as old as i am i'm secretly always that shy 12 year old who has her people and wants more people but sucks at talking, alright?

anyway! none of that is the point. the point is that i haven't been in fandom for about 5ish at least years? like don't get me wrong, read fic, watched shows but me writing fics and interacting? good heavens no. and i think the last time i wrote fic was 2011 ( ironically also an rpf-ish fandom, there's something to be said about that maybe ) and so when i went into elvis i wasn't expecting much. but then i watched it and like- i had been a causal fan of elvis before- my parents were both born in the 50s so they're just about that interesting age to where my mom wished she could have been elvis's girl ( her older sisters too so clearly it's genetically a thing on my mom's side haha ) and my dad thought he was cool. point being i always knew of him and he was some at least tiny part of my life and that's part of the reason i wanted to go see the film. plus i honestly wanted to se ehow plastic looking they made austin look because baby those posters did him no justice.

and then i fell head over heels. watched it 5? times in theaters maybe 6, once with my mom who fell head over heels for austin butler which was not something i had on my 2022 bingo card and yet! and realized that oh heavens the fandom was mostly on tumblr let's boot up the old account and make a side blog and write a fix it fic ( that i am trash and still haven't finished ) and then @floralcyanide made their discord and eventually let me join and the rest was history?

not going into a lot of detail but i really cannot overstate how much this fandom and how genuinely sweet it is came to me at the right time. i've been missing having a solid and consistent creative outlet since i got married but especially since i had my daughter. and then in comes the elvis movie and austin butler and elvis in general and lord help me it's been a whirlwind. filled with stuff i'd never write and just a lot of fun times.

i wanna say thank you to all my favorite people who i either read your stuff or you read mine or i drool over your gif work or something else seeing y'all in my notifs always brightens my day just a little.

i'm gonna make it my mission to get to know some of y'all more in 2023 because truly i love this fandom so much and if it wasn't for this creative outlet appearing out of thin air, i think i'd been in a bit of a rougher spot than i am today and really i wanna just talk and interact more. and i promise y'all i don't bite if you're scared to talk to me, i'm an actual puppy, ask anyone who talks to me for longer than two minutes.

but basically happy new year y'all hoping all of our 2023s are fantastic and i love everyone in this bar so much. does that meme date me, i feel like it does.
