#allo-sexual aziraphale
Text
it makes me a bit sad to see the asexual ineffable husbands fading into the background of the fandom. don't get me wrong, i actively enjoy and have no problem with content + headcanons that portray them as allosexual or allo-adjacent. it's fun and there are HELLA talented people literally everywhere you look!
but when i discovered good omens about a year before season 2 came out, it was the first time i had felt represented onscreen and within a fandom. here was an asexual love story widely accepted by the fandom, and it was beautiful! but i don't really get that vibe anymore for some reason? people who headcanon aziraphale and crowley as asexual (i personally headcanon aziraphale as a sex-favourable orchidsexual and crowley as a sex-ambivalent ace) have sorta been pushed into the corners of most online fandom spaces, and while i don't think it's intentional i do think it reflects a lot of the effects that amatonormativity has on the way we consume media.
we've been trained to favour depictions of sexual relationships in media because society tells us that they're more valid than non-conventional ones (think qprs, non-sexual romantic relationships, fwbs, etc). we're conditioned to view asexual romantic relationships as "boring" (steven moffat you're not part of this but i'm looking at you). when we see a relationship like aziraphale and crowley's, which doesn't outwardly appear like a traditional romantic relationship, we're left wanting more and passing over the people who have already found everything they want in the ineffable husbands' relationship. i think the theories and fanart and writing are gorgeous and i'll never not love seeing a fandom (especially one so unbelievably close to my heart) thrive, but i miss seeing myself so wholly represented by the fandom's general treatment of its characters
(sorry if this was poorly worded i am. very tired right now and wanted to talk about my little guys /gn)

Okay, I have calmed down a little bit from yesterday, but I keep seeing Horrible Takes, so unfortunately I have to make a real post about it.
I keep seeing posts over and over about how "unlike other angels/demons, Aziraphale and Crowley are more human, so they have sexual desires."
Stop. It.
You are literally equating humanness with sexual attraction. You are literally dehumanizing us.
If you want them to be allo, then just headcanon that they're allo. That's it. That's all you have to do. If you relate to them and you're horny, that's great, go wild, write all the nsfw fic you want, but leave us out of it.
Aziraphale and Crowley are not real. They do not care how you perceive their relationship. You don't need to justify your HC with reasons they "can't/shouldn't be ace." You cannot hurt their feelings by simply saying, "To me they are gay and allo and want to rip each others clothes off."
But you CAN hurt aspec people in the fandom who also relate to Aziraphale and Crowley. We are real. We are here. We are human.
Please choose your words more carefully.

I think that the Good Omens fandom gets a rep for being a 'good' and 'not toxic' fandom but unfortuately that's simply not true, and viewing it as such minimizes some peoples' experiences with horrible people in the fandom.
It really sucks, because fandoms are supposed to be a place to express yourself and how you love these wonderful characters; but in this fandom, it's never-ending struggles of people arguing over their sexualities (particularly ace/allo), people choosing 'sides' in the divorce, people tearing apart Aziraphale (harmful to people with religious trauma) for his choices, people complaining about different AUs in fanfic or styles of drawing, people who are just horrible in general.... how about we all just utilize something amazing. Here it is:
If you don't like someone - whether that be their opinions, their art, their fics, whatever - then BLOCK THEM.
It is so very very VERY simple. Don't leave a hate comment. Don't send anon mail. Don't screenshot the post and make fun of it with others, or mock the writing on Twitter, or make ENTIRE BLOGS dedicated to tearing opinions to shreds (I'm looking at you, blogs that say they're 'defending aziraphale' and go on to be so cruel to people with opinions that are not ableist as they so claim).
THE BLOCK BUTTON IS THERE FOR A REASON. IT IS FOR YOU. FOR YOUR BENEFIT. AND IT IS SO FUCKING EASY TO DO.
Why make someone feel like shit just because you didn't like what probably made them proud at first before you had to be an asshole about it?
TLDR: People behind the screens are real people, with feelings and emotions and ups and downs. Remember that next time you see someone's opinion/meta, or art, or writing, and are about to leave a fucking obscenely horrible comment. Just don't. The block button is right there and it is so easy.

Yeah, the oversexualisation...Neil explicitly said they can be ace. Not that they are but that it's just as possible as them being allo and it means so much cuz I'm ace too and never really had that kinda rep. And now so many people sexualize scenes and all even though Neil said there is no sexual implication to stay open for ace or allo interpretations. It's exhausting. I don't mind people making their own posts abt it but there are so many people taking over ace readings posts it makes me so sad. I'm scared it'll start feeling they're allo to me even if it's blank on purpose :( Not to even mention the character assasination... I found a little safe space in the fandom and I will keep blocking to protect it for sure.
Hey anon
When you spend some time in the current fandom you begin to wonder whether you missed out on something because everyone else apparently watched p*rn while you watched a romantic comedy with touch of drama.
When I watched Season 2 I was not involved with the fandom yet - to me it was a season of Aziraphale trying to woo Crowley, trying to make them confess their love, become an item, and Crowley trying to protect them. It was a season on them already acting married, which includes what realistic marriages include - love, devotion, protectiveness, dumbass fights, teasing, flirting. There was nothing explicit.
But yes then you come here and suddenly everyone watched explicit p*rn. And a completely different show because the characters I read about on here have nothing to do with the real Aziraphale and Crowley and their dynamics are horrifying too. And frankly I would want nothing to do with the show if their relationship was the way fandom was seeing it. Crowley does not deserve what the fandom is doing to him and it is actually upsetting.
As annoying as it is, you’re not the one who’s wrong, so remember that. And there is still plenty of us who remember canon so keep close with your own group and try to block and ignore the rest like the rest of us 😊
As for them overtaking posts - that is fucked up. It happened to me and I was fuming. Again this is something that wasn’t happening and now everything you try to post here has someone turning the post into something it obviously was not meant to be.
I honestly think that at this point some people need to go outside and touch some grass because something isn’t right here.
Or watch the show to remind themselves what it actually is about and who the characters are.
Take care of yourself, anon. I’m here if you need a chat.

not to make things too deep and go on a tangent but ngl as someone neutral about gaiman (i do think authors lie in general to avoid spoiling, so im not particularly phased by his messy tumblerina behavior), into my 30s and demisexual, i do think there's a very weird tendency in the ace community to pretend we don't know our points of discussion are leveraged by puritans and homophobes so people do think they're doing something when they say shit like "omg seeing on screen queer sex is my literal nightmare what if the allos co-opt these characters" "why would you RUIN this beautiful relationship with LUST" all the way to "See??? This ask proves in s3 aziraphale will AT BEST look at crowley's lips and decide it's TOO human to be horny" and im here like. Ehy do you know queer sex was never normalized on tv. Do you know puritan terfs on tumblr made sure all of our content is sanitized unless it's HBO and people will call you a degenerate anyway If you admit you didn't change channels when the idol started after succession reruns cause you were cooking and the remote was far. Do you know people were calling first kill problematic for being sexual even before it came out.
I don’t want to start this up again but this is very well put!

Y'all know that it is possible to still ship Crowley and Aziraphale as a romantic and sexual relationship without also calling aspec people weird freaks and that it's possible to see them as aroace without calling allo people sex-obsessed freaks, right?

Re: Good Omens. Ace here, myself. I think a lot of allos see themselves represented by Aziraphale and Crowley. Because of this self-identification, they want to see their ship connect in a sexually intimate way.
As someone firmly on the ace spectrum, I'm happy that canonical C/A are ace and show their love for and connection to each other in non-sexually intimate ways. Their romantic attraction isn't from sexual lust but from emotional, intellectual, and experiential connection.
Crowley's kiss isn't of a sexual nature but an emotional one. He's expressing all his love and frustration and disappointment and anger. He's saying, "We could still be us, you idiot!" Otherwise, he wouldn't wait outside the bookshop for Aziraphale even after feeling rejected and rejecting Azi's forgiveness.
Anon you are so real for this.
Exactly. People tend to say that the only way that they can tell Crowley and Aziraphale are a "thing" is because of The Kiss. And I've seen some people say that if there's not gonna be a second kiss in season 3 that's homophobic. But I mean, they cannot be gay, if they don't have a gender. They are genderless beings. * But then saw people say that they must be sexual with each other, because of how rebellious they are, how they love the humans so much that they imitate them (drinking, eating, sleeping) etc. And on some level, I kinda agree. They do imitate humans. They sometimes do things humans would do. But do you know what some humans also do? For example, kill. Out of jealousy, crime of passion, you name it. But some of them do, so does that mean that they definitely will kill (not by accident!) someone or something? This example is a bit harsh, I'm very sorry for that😅 but hey, you see my point!
Just because some (!!!) humans do in fact engage in sexual activity with one another, doesn't mean they (Crowley and Aziraphale) do as well. Also, okay that they do human stuff. Aight, they do, yeah. But assuming that they do human stuff so they must have sex is like saying that sex is a sooo human thing that if you are asexual you're inhuman. Imo. And I think I can speak in all the ace people's name when I say 1. we've heard "sex is a human thing, it's a part of life, what are you a plant?" SO many times, we are TIRED of it, and 2. we are here, we are real, we are human, always have been and always will be. We are going to exist right until humanity will cease to exist.
And the fact that many ace people don't like the idea of them being together in a sexual way does not make us "PURE" as some people would say... And frankly, I still don't understand people (specifically allosexuals) telling that The Kiss made them canon. It did not. As Anon said, Crowley's kiss didn't happen because of sexuality, it was a cry for help. It was a way of saying "please don't leave me". It was a way of expressing his frustration, how desperately he needed for Aziraphale to change his mind. It was the first thing that popped into his mind, seeing all those people pressing their lips together to show how much they care for the other. He wanted to show Aziraphale too.
If I may say so, I wouldn't mind if there were a second kiss in the 3rd season, but I do NOT want them to be sexual in any way. But that's just my opinion^^ I do think that would not fit the whole of the show. But as I said, that's just my opinion.
Oh and the first sentence
"I think a lot of allos see themselves represented by Aziraphale and Crowley"
That's great! That's absolutely wonderful! But they still cannot erase the fact that they might not function the way they do! They might not be represented by them in EVERY way, but that's fine. I think, at least. For example, I do feel represented by Tim from Marble Hornets because of the memory loss things etc, but I know I don't feel represented by him because he has a completely different mental disorder than me.
I can kin a character without erasing things about them that I do not feel represented by. And you can too.
* I've also seen people say that homophobic reactions are unavoidable since they are played by two male actors. And to be quite honest, I don't really agree with that one... Yes they are played by Michael Sheen and David Tennant, two cis male people but the characters are still nonbinary. I don't know how to explain this... I will be very evil now and say: it's bad, everything is bad! They should have hired two actual celestial beings to play the roles! What not they should have hired God Themselves to be the narrator /Joking
Yeah:3
That's all I wanted to say<3 Have a great day!

I have never seen Good Omens, but I did read the book, which says "angels are sexless unless they specifically make an effort". Which might mean they don't have and/or want sex unless they deliberately choose to, which makes many characters including Aziraphale ace, which makes Good Omens queer rep. Or it might mean they don't have and/or want primary and/or secondary sexual characteristics unless they deliberately choose to, which sure sounds to me like it makes many characters including Aziraphale intersex, which makes Good Omens queer rep. Or it might mean they don't have and/or want gender unless they deliberately choose to, which makes many characters including Aziraphale nonbinary, which makes Good Omens queer rep. Could even be more than one of these at once.
Really the only way I can find to interpret this line that doesn't end in "which makes Good Omens queer rep" requires assuming that Aziraphale has deliberately chosen to be a straight cis allo perisex male angel. This is the character about whom we have the line "Many people, meeting Aziraphale for the first time, formed three impressions: that he was English, that he was intelligent, and that he was gayer than a treeful of monkeys on nitrous oxide."
(Either that or it requires assuming that the authors of Monstrous Regiment and the Wanda storyline in The Sandman are willing to joke about queerness but not to depict queer people.)
I'm cool with queer rep that isn't specific about which flavor of queer.

Can I just say how irritating it is when you make a post in which you call aziraphale and crowley “friends” and you get replies like ‘oh I’m not sure about the friends part’ or ‘~actually~ they’re husbands’. Like, shut up shut up! I never said they were not in love! This two facts are not contradictory!! They are friends! In their own words, they are each others best and only friends! It doesn’t mean they are not in love or are not husbands (well they’re not in canon. Yet). I don’t know if it’s some kind of allo brain rot which tells you that friendships are lesser than romantic/sexual relationship but shut up! It’s literally so important to them that they are friends! It’s the base of their relationship! Isn’t it important to be friends with the person you are in a relationship with?

Hello everyone!
So this is my inaugural tumblr post but I’ve been reading good omens tumblr for a while.
Anyway, I’ve seen some posts that claim Aziraphale and Crowley aren’t ace because of the ox rib scene, or Aziraphale’s face when Crowley gives him the car keys, or the reign of terror scene, or whatever and that is fine if it is your headcanon.
But I would like to point out that being sexually attracted to one person in the world, the person that has been your best friend for millennia, is still a deeply ace experience.
The only real way you could convince me that Crowley and Aziraphale are allo is by showing them being sexually attracted to OTHER people, angels, demons, horsemen, or what have you. I’m really interested to know if anyone has any examples of this; I can’t think of any.
Anyway, thanks for reading and I didn’t mean to offend anyone. I’m honestly just curious.

okay! My aro and or ace headcannons:
dr who (of any regeneration but i stared believing with the 10th) as fully asexual, sex neutral, not quite replused but is like whats the hype? Humans are weird. I also comsider him somewhere in the demiromantic, greyromantic sides of things. I wasnt mad when he was put in romantic relationships, but i dont think hes the type to often seek them out. (Paired with abandonment issues i dont think he ever needs a romantic parter (like do allos think they need a romantic partner??? Idk))
Sherlock (from bbc sherlock) idk if this is self explanatory or not i guess not since ive seen a lot of johnlock stuff in my time lol. But like he is confused by every concepr of sex and romance. Like he used someones crushe on him as a manipulation tactic. Doesnt often see how what he does hurts those with crushes on him. And like he is neurodivgent so i dont want to say he is aroace because of that, but it certaintly shouldnt take awah just how aro ace i see him. (Also fuck john for his causual anormativity in that show. Blatantly horrible)
aziraphale and crowley from good omens as asexual just cuz they dont need it. Theyre relationship is levels of queer, and in their relationship i dont think they need or want sexual intamacy.
muriel also from good omens as aroace. They are just innocent to me. But not to imply the idea that innocence=lack of sexual/romantic attractjon and or desire. I just dont think it suits them.
frenchie from ofmd, newest headcannon, he just never shows any interest? And i love that? Doesnt care about any of it. Is like yea okay, will politely decline anything
the corinthean from the sandman (tv) as aroallo. I can only exsplain this as he is a bisexual slut to me. Murderer who is a babygirl. He isnt intrested in romance but is (in the nicest way, not deragatory or anything) a slut. Will fuck around (and find out)
will graham from hannibal as heteroromantic, homosexual. Idk if this counts, just his romantic and sexual attraction dont line up, so he is aromantic toward men and asexual toward women.
lazlo from wwdits as bisexual/polyamorus (thats cannon but also) aromantic in some way. He doesnt have romantic attraction when he hooks up with someone, only has romantic toward nadja (his wife) .
collin robinson from wwdits as ace/aro flux i cant explain this one. He just is.
captian jack from dr who/torchwood. Cannonically bisexual but to me he is biromantic and homosexual. Agian idk if this counts. Its just not what i would consider an alloromantic exsperience to have split attractions.
theres probably more that im forgetting but heres the list for my more recently watched shows.
This is a 10/10 list and I fully believe them all now even tho I don’t belong to half of these fandoms

A and B for the fandom asks!
Heyaaaa thanks for these : )
A - Ships that you currently like a lot. (They don’t have to be OTPs because not everyone has OTPs.) Friendships, pairings, threesomes, etc. are allowed.
Well number 1 has to be my ineffables, Crowley/Aziraphale from Good Omens. I’ll read allllll the fic - the angsty post s02 pining/reunion fics, the post s01 long friendship realized fics, the south downs retirement fics, hell even the human au fics (although those are a bit more hit or miss for me). I just cannot get enough of them!!! They are the ultimate to me. The outpouring of fic and art and meta post s02 makes being in the fandom extra fun rn. Also I like both the ace and allo interpretations, if the writing is good.
My number 1 used to be Johnlock, specifically from BBC Sherlock. While we all know how that show fucked up, Johnlock fic still has a special place in my heart and I find myself revisiting favorites often. Similar to Good Omens, the post s02 Reichenbach fall hiatus art/fic/meta was a great great time and makes me smile to remember it.
Nick x Charlie from Heartstopper are adorable and sweet and are definitely my fluffy pairing. Alex and Henry from RWRB are like their older siblings in a way - I just love them too (more book versions for Alex and Henry, although the movie was lovely, I just feel like the book goes more in depth).
Also love Merthur (specificially from BBC Merlin). I don’t even really like the show??? but I looovveeee the fic world, especially when the whole ensemble makes an appearance. Modern AUs are really fun for me in this verse.
Gotta shoutout my OG ot3 Parker/Hardison/Elliot from Leverage. Their canon relationship was beautifully developed and I love when fic takes it to the next level. Lots of found family vibes, idiots to lovers, all the best tropes.
The first ship I ever read fic for was Rose x The Doctor (Nine or Ten) over on whofic.com. They’re still a huge ship for me (Doomsday still makes me cry fuck) so even tho I don’t seek out fic as much anymore I still reblog a lot of gifsets and stuff.
I was on the Stucky train HARD for the longest time, and I still go back and read fic, especially from the Winter Soldier or Endgame fix it era. Another Marvel ship I read a lot of was Matt/Foggy from the Netflix Daredevil. Avengers era ensemble fics (everyone living in Stark Tower) are also a favorite.
I went hard on Drarry for a while and I still go back to certain fics but I wouldn’t say it’s a current favorite per say.
Gonna save my last big favorite ship for the next question cause it fits really well.
B - A pairing–platonic, romantic or sexual–that you initially didn’t consider, but someone changed your mind.
So!! My last big main ship is Bagginshield (Thorin/Bilbo from the Hobbit) and this is one that I didn’t really even get into until I read The Riven Crown by beautifulfiction. She was one of my fave Sherlock authors and so when I saw she had written Hobbit fic I was like welllllll normally I don’t read fic of written media (especially Tolkien cause I grew up reading Middle Earth); but it’s B soooo I’ll give it a try. And oh my fucking god I was HOOKED. And now Bagginshield is probably #3 in terms of how many fics I have bookmarked and how often I think about them lol. Richard Armitage knew what the fuck he was doing as Thorin in those movies. I also love the ensemble aspect with all the dwarves and I love fics (like the Riven Crown) where it gets into the bureaucracy of rebuilding a kingdom like Erebor and also rebuilding trust in the aftermath of Thorin’s gold lust.
There’s other pairings I love (Booth/Brennan from Bones, Kanthony from Bridgerton, all the Sense8 relationships, some Zutara) but I think these are the main ones for me.
Send me a letter from this list

Aro/aspec friendly/LGBTQ+ friendly fanfiction
Writing for all pronouns with little to no character description for reader insert (send your pronouns with your requests or inserts with be gender neutral)
Mostly romance-less/sexless fanfiction with a short selection of your favorite characters listed below
Most fanfics are genfic (or nonromantic or sexual in nature) but will be written for audiences no less than 14 years of age.
Requests are open for best friend, roommate, surrogate family, adoptive parental, sibling, or any other platonic trope. you may choose your preferred pronouns and gender as well as orientation if you'd like.
Characters will either be nameless, or reader insert for optimal interaction and enjoyment.
I will make romantic exceptions and write narratives for arospec characters since I find representation to be so important as an aro/aspec person myself. However, they will be marked differently, so look out for that.
I will write for some ships so long as they are background characters. (Ex. Steddie x Ronance x aro/ace!reader who is a part of the Fruity Four Five)
Character List: James "Bucky" Barnes, Loki, Yelena Belova, Steven Grant/Marc Spector, Crowley and/or Aziraphale, Robin Buckley, Eddie Munson, Steve Harrington, Eddie Brock/Venom,
|| MASTERLIST ||
RULES: this is a place for platonic pairings and a safe space for aro/aspec indulgence. we will tolerate no negativity or queerphobia here. this blog has specifically been made for the community to be able to vibe together and share our experiences. allo people are welcome here as well, so long as they are supportive towards this part of the queer community and the queer community as a whole. no smut does not automatically mean the fanfiction found here will be SFW. most likely, it won't be. however, all posts will be marked accordingly and it is the readers responsibility to look out for these things. self harm, suicide, abuse, and all other sensitive topics are not welcome here. my goal is to make a safe and comfortable environment for all who interact here and so that means no large triggers. if you struggle with one or more of the things listed, or something along those lines that hasn't been noted, please seek guidance and reach out to someone who can help you - but here is not the place for that. it's my job to run this blog as well as I can and to protect as many of my followers as I can from something that might be harmful to them. thank you and much love.

the worst thing about gos2 is how much the allos have attached themselves to it
like, after season 1, I didn't have to read all this commentary about how much crowley and aziraphale wanted to have sex...
and like? I get it, but I also don't
I miss the days when my interpretation of go was also the one being most talked about
(but of course, I don't really give a shit, because it's my interpretation and allos are going to allo, so I just ignore the sexual stuff. I'm just a little sad because there's so little out there specifically for us aro and ace folks that it does also feel like a teensy bit of a loss.)

five minutes into today’s tumblr browsing and already i encounter someone claiming aziraphale/crowley is inferior to nandermo and stede/blackbeard because they’re not canon 😐😐😐 when will allo queer people open their motherfucking eyes to the clearly canon writing of aziraphale/crowley as a qpr … they are literally beings who don’t experience sexual (and possibly romantic) attraction who have spent their entire lives on earth together and go on dinner dates and flirt and support each other as equals. explain to me how this is less canon as a queer relationship than nandermo (whom i also like but seriously. nandor clearly still has a way to go and their reconciliation hasn’t even happened yet)
